Persuasive Essay About
Crafting a persuasive essay about oneself may appear deceptively simple, but in reality, it poses a
unique set of challenges. Unlike conventional persuasive essays that often revolve around
external topics or issues, writing about oneself demands a delicate balance between self-
promotion and humility. Striking the right tone becomes a formidable task, as one must navigate
the fine line between confidence and arrogance.
Another hurdle in composing such an essay lies in the introspective nature of the task. Delving
into one's own experiences, qualities, and accomplishments requires a level of self-awareness that
can be uncomfortable. It necessitates introspection that goes beyond surface-level observations,
pushing the writer to explore deeper aspects of their personality, motivations, and growth.
Moreover, the challenge extends to avoiding clichГ©s and platitudes. Narrating personal
anecdotes and achievements without resorting to overused phrases or generic statements is
essential. Readers can quickly become disengaged if the narrative lacks authenticity or fails to
offer a fresh perspective on the individual.
Additionally, the essay must be structured coherently, with a clear introduction, body, and
conclusion. Balancing the personal and persuasive elements requires a strategic approach to
ensure that the essay not only highlights individual strengths but also persuades the reader of the
writer's unique value.
In the end, writing a persuasive essay about oneself is a task that demands a high level of self-
reflection, honesty, and a keen understanding of one's audience. It's an intricate dance between
self-promotion and relatability, making it a writing challenge that is both personal and
professional.

Symbolism In Blade Runner
When Blade Runner was released in 1982, it was greeted with a lukewarm reception
by general movie goers and critics alike. Director Ridley Scott s film a futuristic tale
about a group of renegade replicants (android slave labor banned on Earth, used in
the colonization of space) and the police officer (Rick Deckard, played by Harrison
Ford) hired to kill them was criticized for being too gloomy and too dense. However,
since its dismal box office run, Blade Runnerhas emerged as one of the most
thematically and stylistically influential science fiction films in recent history.
There are two key literary devices of the film that play a key role in relaying
themes. The first is setting the time, place, and context of the story. In some
literature, the setting is rich and complex, a culture of its own, a set of rules alien to
the reader that the characters in the story live by. The second is symbolism, when a
writer uses a tangible object to represent a higher, more complex notion or idea. In
Blade Runner, Scott uses key traits of the setting and symbols as a means to propose
the moral dilemmas that will one day face humanity due to its fascination with
technology.
The setting of the film is possibly the most important device in terms of theme. Blade
Runner takes place in Los Angeles during the year 2017. In the opening shot, Scott
immediately exposes us to the side effects of a full century of industrialization:
Factories fill the cityscape, pouring a never ending stream of smoke into the sky.
What was once sunny Southern California is now covered by a constant layer of
pollution that blurs night and day. Wrecked and abandoned skyscrapers trash the city.
Acid rain pours continuously. The overall sensation of the opening scene has a
sobering effect on the viewer. After decades of technological advances for the
betterment of society, what remains is a trashed, almost uninhabitable planet that has
been virtually abandoned. In essence, Scott warns us that technology has damaging
effect on both the environment and culture.
The dreary setting of the film possibly me most powerful device Scott uses in order
to relay his warning, but an equally important message is symbolically demonstrated
by the powerful Tyrell
Alpha Sorority Analysis
In my opinion the purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. is to better society
as a whole through the promotion of sisterhood, scholarship and service to it s
member and mankind. They are constantly evolving and reevaluating the needs of
the human race. This is best emphasized in the New Dimensions of Service, which
outlines the five targets of the organization as it pertains to service. I believe these
targets are realistic, necessary and embody the main principle of Alpha Kappa Alpha
and how they are all necessary for the next principle to work. Sisterhood, scholarship
and service are principle that I believe I embody and will continue to uphold if
allowed membership into Alpha Kappa Alpha. Throughout my three years at the

I believe that I posses the level of ethical standards and integrity and dedication to
sisterhood and love for service, required to uphold the reputation of Alpha Kappa
Alpha. These characteristics are expressed in my actions and the strives I make to
and improve my character daily through what I call small victories : small things
that can be done to better myself and others daily. These are achieved through
academic integrity and doing my part, to volunteer, mentor and help people any
time presented the opportunity. My dedication to sisterhood in my opinion is
rarely matched and is one I have been nurturing for years, starting as a Girl Scout,
continuing to Girls In The Game program and most recently apart of a Sisters Inc,
a mentoring/leadership program that I ve had the pleasure to be involved with in
for over six years and have been involved with on numerous levels; mentee, mentor,
ambassador and alumni commitee. I ve been afforded the opportunity to make life
long friends, mentor girls, build self esteem and develop in my journey to being
an all around model citizen. All of these programs not only showed me the
importance of sisterhood but also scholarship and service, showing me that a real
sister are those that will help you and will except your help back. A real sister is
one who you never have to sacrifice your love of service you re your dedication to
scholarship for and lastly love you like blood. Lastly I believe that my love of
service is characteristic I believe that I can use to maintain the status of Alpha
Kappa Alpha, from a young age my grandmother would preach to me do unto
others... . From a young I knew it was my responsibility to assist someone in need
any chance I am given. And have carried this belief to every organization I have

Questions On Common Types Of Contracts
Contract Types There are multiple factors that influence the type(s) of contract(s)
utilized/selected within a project. Some of these factors include: the level of
uncertainty related to the scope of work, the amount of project risk willing to be
assumed, importance of meeting schedule milestone dates, and the need for projected
costs, among others (Darnall Preston, 2013). Whatever the driving factors are in the
selection process, once established, the typeof contract selected can have a significant
influence on the decision making process related to the trade off of the triple
constraints of cost, time, and performance (Kerzner, 2013). This paper will briefly
explain five common types of contracts focusing primarily on how each type can
affect project constraint trade off.
Common Types of Contracts There are two general types of contracts: fixed price
and cost reimbursable, with each main type having several variations (Darnall
Preston, 2013). The two most common variations of fixed price contracts are, firm
fixed price and fixed price incentive fee (Kerzner, 2103). For cost reimbursable
contracts, the three most common variations are, the cost plus incentive fee, the cost
plus award fee, and the cost plus fixed fee (Kerzner, 2013). Each type and variation
influences project trade off decisions relative to the triple constraints of cost, time,
and performance differently (Kerzner, 2013).
Firm Fixed Price (FFP) In a FFP contract, all costs are incorporated
Analysis of Fabulous Superlatives Concert
This may sound trite, but the concert as I saw it is best described by the name of
the band, the Fabulous Superlatives!!! On every level this was a concert I will
remember for a long time.
The ArtsQuest venue was new to me and I was impressed with the ease of finding
it, the free amble parking, the friendly staff and the great sound and seating. It is a
modern impressive structure built around the old Bethlehem Steel Works. The ruins
of the old plant are used as a visual backdrop to the new and impressive
entertainment complex. There are a couple of restaurants, and a movie theater
housed next to the concert venue. The food was very good, the serviced just great
and I d would and plan to go back.
Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives took the stage with a thunderous
explosion of applause form the sold out audience. It was evident that many folks
where their to see Marty as the primary reason for coming that evening. His band is
truly both fabulous and superlative. The line up is: Harry Stenson on drums and
background vocals; Kenny Vughan on lead and acoustic guitar; Paul Martin bass and
background vocals and Clarence the guitar accompanying Marty Stuart. Clarence is
the guitar played by the fabled Clarence White. Clarence and Roger s Rickenbacker
370/12 guitars were stars in their own right getting numerous pictures taken of them
before, during and after the show. Marty , who is a guitar collector, also owns Hank a
guitar one owned by Hank Williams Sr.
Police Subculture Research Paper
The Thin Blue Line of Sub culture Police officers everyday are involved in their own
sub culture, which shapes their behaviour and attitude towards society. This sub
culture is made through the bond shared through serving the community and looking
out for one another day in and day out while performing his/her duties as law
enforcement officers. Sticking together allows them to conquer their battles against
any hardships or crisis situations faced in their day to day agenda. The us versus them
mentality, which policeofficers have been labeled with raises suspicion on how law
enforcement officers truly feel about the sub culture and the community, which they
serve. Every day officers are subjected to seeing brutal crisis situations, which... Show

This term relates to police officers refusing to come forward when he/she knows
there is an officer partaking in an ethical or criminal matter (Pollock, 2015). The
police subculture has such a strong grip on individual officers because of the cop
code and not giving up other officers. When a police officer decides to inform a
supervisor of police misconduct often threats and retaliation occurs to that officer
(Pollock, 2015). Many reported incidence when an officer does come forward it
shows there is a lot more officer misconduct then people are aware. Police officers
will lie to one s supervisor, and will attempt to cover up another officer s
misconduct (Pollock, 2015). Things like police subculture and the blue curtain of
secrecy mask the misconduct within a police agency. Doing this specifically would
show how an officer is more likely to back up his/her fellow officer then do what it
right for his/her community. Because of this we can conclude police officers are
cynical towards one s community, in result of police
Research Paper On Therapy Dog
A therapy dog is a dog used in animal assisted therapy sessions primarily in
institutions such as nursing homes, some schools, hospitals, schools, old people s
homes, and prisons. They are great for giving unconditional love and gratitude to
people, with no concern as to their age, race, infirmity or background. Want your dog
to become one? Therapydog training is vital in that case.
Previous to starting therapy dog training it is imperative that you are aware of the
reason behind the practice as a whole and the benefits of a correctly trained therapy
dog. The responsibility of the therapy dog is to offer companionship, comfort to
patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and medical centers and to aid in the
rehabilitation process, as they attend schools and library s to listen to children read, ...

friendliness have helped many people to recover from trauma, whether it be physical
or mental.
Scientists have observed people training their dogs. These were people with some
trauma. The conclusion of the study was that dog training can indeed help people
overcome medical problems. Dogs usually have unconditional love, and they are
very loyal as well. This makes many people s hearts warm up. It gives them that
empowering feeling they need to overcome their setbacks in life.
Dog training therapy continues to go mainstream these days. It s even at the point
where hospitals and other clinics are facilitating dog visitation. Especially children s
hospitals are open to the idea, and many of them are trading in the clowns for
Drying Is A Mass And Heat Transfer Process Essay
Chapter 1 : Introduction
Drying is a simultaneous mass and heat transfer process that converts a liquid,
solid or semi solid feedstock into a solid product having lower moisture content.
This is usually done by applying heat to evaporate the liquid into a vapor phase.
Sometimes drying takes place below the triple point of the liquid to be removed and
the solid phase is directly converted to vapor phase via sublimation as in case of
freeze drying. [1]
As drying must involve a phase change of the liquid to be removed, it is considered
as one of the most energy intensive unit operations. This is due to the high latent heat
of vaporization, as well as, the inefficiency of using hot air as the most common
drying medium. Hence, the operating cost of dryers represents their major cost item.
Drying is an important process in many fields such as chemical, agricultural,
ceramics and pharmaceutical industries. It may be done to have free flowing solids
that are easy to handle, to facilitate the preservation and storage of different materials,
to reduce the transportation costs or to achieve desired quality of products. [2]
Regeneration of adsorptive beds is an important drying application. The operation of
such beds includes three periods. During the first period adsorption takes place till
breakthrough. This is followed by steaming period where live steam is blown through
the bed to remove the adsorbate from the solid desiccant. In the third period;
regeneration period, the hot, moist

instead of doing it themselves. This would not only be an act of kindness but it
would also keep the workers motivated to continue they re work. If the company is
not willing to pay them more than $1.00 per day, they should provide them with
other essentials. It is stated that PharmaCARE s executives, however, live in a

Gattaca
Film Study: Gattaca
How does Niccol present Vincent s problem, the new steps he takes to reach his goal,
and his ultimate triumph in the film, Gattaca?
Andrew Niccol uses film techniques such as voice over narration, colours,
establishing shots, mid shots, long shots, extreme close ups, close ups, crosscutting
and low angled shots to present Vincent s problem, the new steps he takes to reach his
goal, and his ultimate triumph in the film, Gattaca.
The film techniques, voice over narration, colours and establishing shots are used in
the film, Gattaca, to present Vincent s problem. In the initial scenes Vincent narrates
the story of his childhood above scenes of him growing up. The foregrounding of
Vincent s voice on top of the footage causes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Nowhere is this more obvious than in the scene featuring Gattacan Police, wherein
Niccol consistently makes use of mid shot. Through this, Niccol highlights the
extent of the difference between the police and ordinary Gattacan citizens. Indeed,
not only do the officers fail to fit in , but their relatively lowliness on the Gattacan
social ladder is a frequent source of problems in the city. To make these police the
subject the shot as Niccol does, is to leave the viewer expecting more from the
officers then they can realistically provide. Interestingly, the impotence of the
Gattacan Police to achieve justice in an unjust society is shared by Vincent s
intrinsic inability to achieve his goals. However, whereas Niccol portrays Gattacan
officers as consigned to his or her fate, Vincent goes to insane lengths to better
himself. Niccol documents these lengths through a combination of montage and
long shot, conveying the effort, time, and money invested in Vincent s leg
enhancement surgery . From this, the viewer is to conceive of Gattaca as a place
where perfection is expected (but rarely physiological attainted), and where every
minute detail of a man or woman s physical (and genetic) characteristics are
ruthlessly scrutinized. The viewer s suspicions are strongly affirmed by Niccol,
whose frequent use of extreme close up not least in the case of the six fingered piano

Martin Scorsese s Film The Departed
When many of us think mobster movies , we typically expect the film industry to
portray a dark and murky world full of money, drugs, deceit and murder. Martin
Scorsese s film, The Departed delivers just that. The following will summarize key
aspects of the plot and identify specifics of the period that it is conveying. Also, we
will look at cultural features of the era and see how they interplay with elements of
the film. Finally, we will address the impact that this film had on American popular
culture.

The Departed is an iconic modern mobster movie that was delivered to us by
Martin Scorsese in 2006. There are two main characters that we follow and both

For example, Matt Damon s character, Sullivan is in direct contrast when compared
to Costigan, played by Leonardo Di Vinci. While Sullivan comes off as a clean cut
and smooth operating, this gimmick conceals his true colors as a rat for Costello.
While he maintains his good cop image, he utilizes his rank and position to aid
Costello and eventually to try to conceal his participation. On the other hand,
Costigan has the rough natured looks of a guy who has spent most his time in
Boston involved in some sort of criminal activity. Like Sullivan, Costigan utilizes
his disguise to get what he ultimately wants; to be a respected member of the
Massachusetts State Police. Frank Costello, played by Jack Nicholson is a unique
character all in his own. It does not take long for the viewer to realize that Costello
has spun such a deceptive web of lies and spies that it could be his own downfall.
Nicholson s portrayal of Costello gives you the impression of an Irish mob boss,
with a sadistically present sense of humor and the desire to maintain his state of

Socrates s Theory Of Justice
In Plato s Republic, Socrates argues for the importance of living a just life.
However, Glaucon asks why any person favors the just life over an unjust one.
Glaucon would like an answer regarding this type of justice, and if it is good only
for its results or good in itself. Socrates argues that justice in the individual is the
balance between sprit, reason, and desire (scc. 435a). Socrates account of justice,
displays a life in which a justice provides benefits not only for the individual, but
also society. In this case, Socrates account of justice, does not provide a sufficient
reason to be just. Socrates parallel of justice and health cannot answer Glaucon s
request fully. Therefore, without sufficiently proving the inherent good of justice his
claim falls apart.
Socrates account of justice stems from Glaucon s arrangement of the three categories
of goods: inherently good, pleasurable, or both. Glaucon asks if there is any value in
simply being a just person, he comes to find that if a person can be unjust and get
away with it then the unjust life is better. The first of its three categories is meant
for the things that are a kind of good we like for its own sake (scc.357c) . The
second category is for what s good as a result of their consequences such as exercise
for fitness and sex for pleasure and children. The highest category is for things that
are both good in themselves and because of their consequences. Continuing the
challenge and reinforcing his second
Systemic Radionuclide Therapy
Introduction
The spine column is one of the most frequent sites for bone metastases that occur in
patients with developed cancer, especially prostate, lung and breast. Intolerable pain
is the major symptoms that appear with bone metastasis and severe pain reduces
quality of life [1 4]. Treatment of spinal metastases is a multidisciplinary approach
involving conventional external beam radiotherapy, surgery, narcotics,
bisphosphonates, percutaneous vertebral body augmentation, systemic radionuclides,
stereotactic body radiotherapy or a combination of these systemic therapies [5 8].
Systemic radionuclide therapy with suitable radiotracers has some advantages
including the ability for pain palliation in multiple sites of bone involvement
simultaneously, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus consideration of absorbed dose to minimizing dose delivery and assessment of
radiation damage to bone marrow is important. To attain effective radionuclide
therapy, it is essential to identify appropriate radionuclides as well as to develop
better bone seeking agents that could result in good in vivo localization and desired
excretion [12]. There are two major groups of radionuclides for treating painful bone
metastases including, ОІ emitting radionuclides; 32P,89Sr, 90Y, 153Sm, 166Ho,
177Lu, 186Re, 188Re and О± emitting radionuclide;223Ra [13 19]. The 32P and
89Sr were the first radioisotope to be evaluated for palliative treatment of bone
metastases [20, 21]. Currently, there are several commercially available ОІ emitting
radionuclides for bone pain palliation as 89SrCl2, 153Sm EDTMP and 186Re
HDEP [22, 23]. However, another radionuclide is under research for palliative
treatment of bone metastasis, such as 90Y, 166Ho, 177Lu and 188Re. Recently,
223RaCl2 that uses the bone seeking О± emitter 223Ra has become available and it
approved by the FDA for clinical use in 2013 [24 27]. For each atom of 223 Ra, 4
alpha particles are released that they are representing 94 % of the total radiation
energy emitted
Mainstream Youth Subcultures
In modern society, youths are encouraged to stand out and as a result, this subculture
population is ever increasing. Such mass media labelling has resulted in such a
creation of these youth subcultures that evidentially exist and they have become
mainstream. Changes that occur within society and mainstream however lead to the
emergence of new subcultures whereby old ones change or disappear. Such transition
is apparent between these two films, from the mods within the 1960 s to chavs and
hoodies today. The two films are evidently driven by their dramatic media
representations of youth subcultures. Quadrophenia was presented 30 years before
the release of Harry Brown which focuses on the two main subcultures that existed,

Such behaviour was exaggerated and amplified which also created an undesired
response of moral panic within society towards all youths resulting in deviancy
amplification (Wilkins, 1964). Thus, mods and rockers were both labelled deviant
subcultures and all youths were deemed to be part of these deviant subcultures
becoming the foundation of the mainstream thinking which spiralled out of control
during the late twentieth century. Such distortion of these youths proposed by
Roddam s film of Quadrophenia evidentially sparked a very powerful effect. Such
a powerful media effect relates to Gerbners Cultivation Theory (1986) which
suggests that the perceptions of society regarding youth subcultures and crime have
been heavily influenced by mass media representations. This suggests that people
who engage more within the media have a higher expectation of crime and
overestimate the levels of gang crime which results in an effect of their perceptions
of young people. The more gang crime people see within the media, the more likely
they are to be more fearful and aware of it which was a response of the film as
discovered. Social structure theorists believe the key elements to such youth criminal
behaviour shown by the subcultures in Quadrophenia are the dominance of social
and economic structures that are noticeable in rundown areas whereby the majority of
Bereft Tone
The somber poem of Bereft reflects on the anxieties after a great loss love. Bereft
by Robert Frost is comparing the narrator s past and present loss and lonliness .
The use of different and similar feet patterns lets readers connect sections of the
poem to create a better understanding of the meaning. The trimeter poem does not
have a specific foot throughout the entirety of the poem, but the poem uses dactyls
and trochees in various patterns. By looking at the various similarities between
lines you can gain a deeper understanding of the reflection and questioning of his
past love loss. The stormy weather in Bereft is metaphorical to his previous loss of
love being realized again. This change as said in line 1, has caused the poems final...

These lines, which describe the motion and sound of the storm, are thematically
creating conflict between the author and nature. In the follow phrases,
Leaves...hissed/ Blindly struck at my knee.../...sinister in the tone , gives a
negative tone to the metaphorical storm within the poem. Their rhythmic pattern
aligns with that of the last lines of the poem starting with Word , which are
describing his loneliness. Word I was in the house alone//Word I was in my life
alone, /Word I had no one left buy God , continue this pattern of very metrical lines
of three (13, 15 16. Theses two sections of lines are not only metrically similar, but
thematically. They are no longer questioning the trials of his loss of love, as he is no
longer questioning. The two sections are described through sound, which is a motif
throughout the poem. The storm s description with sound connects with the other
passage of same foot pattern as the narrator believes that someone has spread word
of his loneliness, could this be the nature? These sections are also following the same
end rhyme scheme hissed/...missed/...tone and alone/...alone/...God (9 11, 13,15 16).
The meanings may reflect each other in these passages, the sense of nature being the
one acknowledging the narrator s loneliness with the storm. It is not clear who
knows of his loneliness in the poem, but from the similarities in theme and meter it
can be assumed that the storm is spreading word of his
Finding A Bore Tide
Introduction:
Daylight hours are dependent on sunrise and sunset times for each day which are
dependent on seasonal change. The number of daylight hours can be represented by a
periodic function. This periodic function can help Alaskan Council predict daylight
hours for tourist travelling to watch their Bore Tide. A Bore Tide is a tidal
phenomenon in which the leading edge of the incoming tide forms a wave (or
waves) of water that travels up a river or narrow bay against the direction of the
river or bay s current. Anchorage, Alaska is known for its famous Bore Tides.
These bore tides occur at least once a day during high and low tide. Yet, health
warnings are applied to viewing bore tides during low tide. Tourists have died by

(Refer to Appendix 5 for the graph of the function:L=417 sinвЃЎ[2ПЂ/365 (t

hours. The hours were then compared to the original data points. This comparison
resulted in a percentage error being recorded. (Refer to Appendix 5 for the results of
the function and percentage errors). The highest percentage error recorded was
7.35% on February 1st 2011. This error could be because February has 29 days in a
leap year but 2011 data was used. The error could also occur because only 24 data
points were used, if more data points were used a more precise graph would have
been generated leaving less space for error.
Question 1e:
Simple deriving and calculus was used to verify that the equation L=417
sinвЃЎ[2ПЂ/365 (t 81)]+744 for when the longest and shortest day of the year occur.
The derivative of the function was started by using the chain rule(dy/dx=dy/du*du
/dx). The derivative was found to be: dy/dx=2ПЂ/365 417 cosвЃЎ(2ПЂ/365 t
162ПЂ/365). dy/dx was made to equal 0 therefore the equation will end up looking
like: 0=cosвЃЎ(2ПЂ/365 t 162ПЂ/365). When dealing with a cos curve on a unit
circle cos can only be 0 at 90 degrees (ПЂ/2) and 270 degrees (3ПЂ/2) therefore
meaning that to find the longest and shortest days (2ПЂ/365 t 162ПЂ/365) is made
The And Exchange Commission s Mission Essay
The Securities and Exchange Commission s mission is to protect investors,
maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation. The
purpose of this paper is to examine three recent federal security laws to see if they
uphold all parts of the SEC s mission. The three laws to examine are Sarbanes Oxley
Act (2002); Emergency Economic Recovery Stabilization Act (2008); and Dodd
Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (2010). The Sarbanes Oxley
Act (2002) passed after the Enronfiasco of the early 21st century. Enron was able to
trick investors by using Special Purpose Entities which was allowed through GAAP
standards, but nonetheless failed to reveal the potential risks to the investors looking
at its financial records. Enron s executives had in fact fraudulently reported profits,
but not debts, inflating its stock value and enabling it to obtain some capitalfrom
ignorant financial institutions and other investors. (Kaal, 2016) Therefore, the
passing of the SOX Act provided two main points, the Public Company Accounting
Oversight Boardand Title IV. PCAOB holds public accounting firms accountable.
PCAOB works in conduction with other CPA organizations, but it holds the ultimate
authority over CPA organizations. Title IV requires the full disclosure for any Special
Purpose Entities and the impact that they might have. Also pro forma calculations,
figures based on future events that might occur, and personal loans to
Race And Gender And Race
The idea of race and gender is an idea that has been socially constructed. Society has
created roles for race and gender, they are determined by what society thinks is
appropriate for the gender or race. Some people argue that certain behavior roles are
based on gender where as others may believe that it is based on race. I will first
discuss how in today s society we promote to stop racismyet it is still happening
everyday, and people are just blind to see it. Creating a role for race is racism,
some people do not understand that. I will then talk about gender, how it is
socially constructed, and labeling roles for men and women. I will also discuss
how race and gender intersect in the formation of identities. How gender and race
is socially constructed, us people have the power to change it but we use our
power to look past it and pretend like it does not exist. Majority of society has been
blinded to the fact gender and racial roles do not exist, society has created it and now
we think it is the norm.
Race is a concept that differentiates people based on human bodies. There is no
biological basis for racial classification. Classifying people based on the colour of
their skin is being racist. Many people are aware of this, yet every day people are
being judged based on the colour of their skin. We are being racist without even
noticing it. For instance, when driving on the road and there is a bad driver ahead,
we automatically assume the driver is Asian.. Asian s

the last place to be blown to pieces. Four people lost their lives the day of the
bombing. The enemy didn t seem to care about the people inside but the color of their
skin. The Birmingham church bombing also brought influential people, major details
surrounding the crisis, a difference in society, and a change in history.
The Birmingham bombing consisted of more than criminals and victims. There were
influential people that had a major part in this time of history. The most influential
person was Martin Luther King Jr. After he learned about the bombing, he sent a
telegram to the governor of Alabama. In this telegram, Dr. King said The blood of
our little children are on your hands. Martin Luther King Jr. held a segregational
protest in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. King was arrested and put in jail and was told
not to protest. He wrote his famous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The civil rights movement was made up of many tragic and inspiring tasks that made
our history that we know of today. The church bombing shocked the nation and led to
large protests that would help the race controversy start to decrease. The outrage over
the death of the little girls helped build an increased amount of support that would
help the struggle of segregation. Without the bombing, the Civil Rights Act of 1964
and the Voting Rights Actof 1965 would not have been as easy to get without the
tragedy of the church bombing. Our history was changed because a tragedy like the
bombing was the biggest opportunities to show America that a change needed to be
made. Crowds of people joined protest and were influenced by Martin Luther King

Mary Shelley s Use Of The Weather In Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s use of the elements in Frankenstein aid in developing different moods
experienced throughout the novel. Habitually describing details of the existing
weather, she is able to relate it to the emotions of her characters. Whether the
conditions are malevolent or delightful, she never fails to help the reader recognize
the indication of an emotion or incident that will soon occur in the story.Rain is the
foremost component of spring, the season of hope, renewal, and (emotional)
awakening. When the creature notices the amiable warmth and light showers that
satisfy the earth, it is almost as if his feelings go through photosynthesis; they are
boosted instantaneously. Similar to a rebirth, Shelley uses the fresh spring... Show

This shows that meteorological conditions are able to affect a character s thoughts
and alter their feelings. As has been noted, Shelley accentuates the description of
spring to express the hope and renewal bestowed upon the creature by the
exemplifications of the weather. It is common throughout the novel that the existing
weather reflects, and sharply influences, Victor s mood(s). For example, the
atmosphere surrounding the hut is cold and harsh when the creature concludes his
tale and asks Victor to construct his companion. This creates meaning in the text
because much like these inhospitable conditions, Victor s heart is cold blooded and
calloused when it comes to the creature. Shelley s reason behind the freezing cold
temperature is not only to foreshadow Victor s response, but to demonstrate the
absence of color (warmth) and human sentimentality. In similar fashion, the pleasant
weather in the valley of Chamounix is able to alleviate some of the guilt ridden
weight placed upon Victor s shoulders from the outcome of Justine s trial. With clear
skies as their background, the pinnacles of the mountains and graceful flow of the
waterfalls are effective in establishing a sense of fearlessness within Victor; the

Coca-Cola, Value Chain
Introduction Coca Cola markets nearly 2,400 beverages products in over 200

designing various new advertising campaigns (Coca Cola 2006). On October 19th,

Birthstone Amethyst
The deep purple amethyst has long been assigned spirital, purifying and protective
qualities. Found across the world its use has been traced back to Neolithic Europe. It
holds strong associations to love, healing and both physical and spiritual protection.
It s energies are that of fire, it is said to inflame the passions and spark creativity,
boost spirituality and encourage both logic and temperance in the wearer.
Most closely associated with St Valentine, Bachuss, and Dionysus, it represents
faithful love and ecclesiastical dignity. In the Chakra the amethyst is the stone of the
Crown Chakra, aiding in the connection to the divine. The amethyst is ruled by both

impacts, and there are plenty of studies that people read that only show the
negative side. These include harm to the Earth and environment. However, there

The critical issue is that Ernst Ernst, who were First Securities auditors for more than

led to Ernst Ernst failure to discover poor internal practices of the firm. Thereby, this
prevented Ernst Ernst from completing an effective and efficient audit of the

opportunity to act fraudulently toward others. In addition the defrauded investors
argue that if this mail rule was discovered then this would have led to the

Critical Factor #4
Investors alleged that the Midwest Stock Exchange failed to adequately investigate
Nay s background before admitting his firm into membership; that Nay s past
unethical conduct would have forced the exchange to deny his firm a membership
application. Possibly putting a stop to the engaging in an escrow syndicate fraud.
This is relevant because if the Midwest Stock Exchange had investigated Nay s
background before allowing him membership in their firm, then Nay would not have
been able to use the Stock Exchange as a back up in helping him get this fraudulent
fund up and running. Also Ernst Ernst should have known through financial
statements that Nay was in membership with a stock exchange firm.

Dwight D. Eisenhower s Argumentative Analysis
Eventually, another Dwight D Eisenhower like federal push will be necessary to
modernize our ailing automotive infrastructure. Otherwise, the horrendous service
we have today will keep us in a perpetual state of just below outrage. The problem,
this time around, will be aesthetics. In 1956, the Federal Aid Act yielded essentially
immediate ostensible results; you could see workers actually making roads where
before there was mud and nothing else. When we modernize roads in the future,
people will not be able to see much change. In fact, aside from widening some
criminally narrow roads, and maybe a few additional routes where appropriate; before
and after pictures will likely be pretty much identical. Again, Eisenhower left an

Most of the amendments will be technological or educational in nature, basically
people need to learn to drive better, and technology can help with and with more
innovative things. Going back to the Google of it all, they are exposing a rather
interesting hypocrisy that even they have not vocalized. We are being so stringent
with the education of autonomous autos, without introspectively examining the
educational system in place for human drivers, which is awful in the US. I have more
on that, but that will be for another article. If people drove as well as autonomous
autos have to before hitting public roads, they would not be needed to alleviate the
existing congestion. The other (the first being autonomy) industry altering
advancement is one that our current infrastructure not ready for; the extensive
electrification of our automotive industry. Granted, Tesla has forced the country to
conform to some degree, but it nascent at best. Honestly, it might even be a step in
the wrong direction, in that even at peak efficiency, superchargers will always be
massively inconvenient. The technology to make charging lanes is already
theoretically possible, it only needs to be improved
The Theories And Theories Of Leadership
Leadership is being defined in many ways and by many psychologists. It can be
defined in terms of group processes, personality, power, goal accomplishment, and
interaction, differentiation in role, initiation of structure, and combination of two or
more of these. Its involves various dimensions like planning, organizing, directing,
controlling. In general the leaders with the leadershipqualities will earn respect from
other members of the team and they together follow the leader to achieve the goals.
And in general as taking into considering the organization, manger can be a leader
but not necessary that the leader could be a manger
Leadership Theory:
Among the various theories, two theories of leadership are discussed below to get a
brief understanding of the concept.
1.Trait Theories: The trait theory of leadership focuses on identifying different
personality traits and characteristics that are linked to successful leadership across a
variety of situations. The different traits are extraversion, intelligent, self confidence,
honesty, being smart; these are the factors which help in creating a great leader.
However, this theory was not very successful as it s narrow in subject who does not
guarantee effective and efficiency.
2.Behavioural theories: The name itself tells that the theory forces on the behavioural
approach which has a relation between the motivation, effectiveness, and efficiency
and in turn influences the leadership styles in an individual.
Basic Rules of Driving
Before driving a car, you must learn first what road signs, colors, and sign shapes
mean. You need to learn what the different road signs mean and what they look like.
There are many signs which you must follow in order to get to your destination. It is
very important that you learn all these before actually driving. Another thing you
must know is which lane you must drive in and how to turn into a lane. The reason
is because you cannot get into a car without knowing what to do while on the road. In
order to drive a car you must first take drivers training, if you have never driven a
car. Then you take a written test that includes all the information you have learned
about the road. But, for now learning about signs and colors is... Show more content

The reason is because there are so many things that a good driver needs to know. It
is never good to go with your gut instinct because sometimes your instinct can be
wrong. Driving is considered to be a privilege that is why you must earn your right to
drive. It is easy for me to show you how to drive, but in order for me to do that I my
self should be a good and licensed driver. Even having a license doesn t give
anyone the right to teach a person how to drive behind the wheel. The only thing I
can do is help you learn what you need to learn so you can become a

A metropolitan area is a region that consists of a densely populated urban core and
its less populated surrounding areas that are economically and socially linked to it.
The criteria of defining metropolitan areas changed in 2003. Smaller MSAs
remained the same, but larger metropolitan areas, previously referred to as
consolidated metropolitan statistical areas (CMSAs) are now defined as MSAs
(see figure 1). Different portions of CMSAs, previously referred to as primary
metropolitan statistical areas (PMSAs), have been redefined and reconfigured as
metropolitan divisions. For example, the old New York CMSA consisted of eleven
counties in two states and four PMSAs: New York PMSA, Nassau Suffolk PMSA,
Dutchess County PMSA and Newburgh, NY PA PMSA (see figure 2). The current
New York MSA consists of twenty three counties in three states and four metropolitan
divisions. Metropolitan divisions do not perfectly substitute for PMSAs, as they have
different size thresholds (2.5 million vs. 1 million population), but they come as close
to representing homogenous units as we can come with current census geography.
Metropolitan divisions are designated for each of the eleven largest
The Factors That Affect The Learning Process Of L2 Words
Studies which support the effect of cognateness:
I shall present three studies in which their findings are incompatible with Milton and
Daller s (2007) findings, which disputed the impact of cognateness on L2 word
learning. The first study was carried out by Willis Ohashi (2012) to investigate the
factors that affect the learning process of L2 words. The participants were 69 Japanese
ESL learners studying in different departments of Tokyo University for females:
Linguistics, Communication, Science, Mathematics and Psychology. They studied
English for a long period, 7 years or more. The subjects were given a multiple choice
test in order to assess the size of their recognition of L2 words, the first seven levels
of VST. They completed the test within 15 25 minutes. The researchers aimed to
examine three factors: frequency, cognateness and word length involving the
measurements of it, phonemes, syllables and letters. Additionally, they aimed to
examine the assumed mutual and intervening relationship between the three factors,
frequency, cognateness and word length, in order to examine the effect of frequency
and word length on cognates and non cognates.
The results of this study revealed that cognateness is strongly correlated with item
facility (IF), 29%, followed by frequency, 23% suggesting that cognateness and
more frequent words are easier to acquire and remember. All the three variables of
word length are less correlated with (IF), between 7 to 8 %, suggesting
What Are Regulatory Agencies
Hello Professor Walls, While nothing is perfect, I think regulatory agencies are
both necessary and good in creating balance in a growing and changing society. For
the most part, regulatory agencies are good because they protect the public from
unfair business practices, discrimination, and to ensure safety practices amount
many other things. For example, the U.S Equal Opportunity Commission regulates
and ensures businesses comply with federal laws that make it illegal to
discriminate. You ask if I think they are fair; although, this is not something I
cannot say as an absolute. Fair can mean different things to different people. I might
think something is fair while others may perceive it very differently. Also, I think
what is fair includes whether there are good or bad motivations behind the act. I say
this because there are very good people trying to do the best they can in the best
interest of the public while... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maybe this does not concern some people, but it does concern me. While this is
controversial, I think the experts should have more weight in determining the safety
of GM foods than the political process. But that is my opinion. In reading several
articles, discretion on the part of the agencies seems to be controversial.
Nevertheless, there is checks and balance in place on regulatory agencies. According
to Ushistory.org (2015), the president appoints positions in these agencies, but the
president does not directly control most of them. However, Congress has the power
to create, alter, and reorganize agencies (Ushistory.org, 2015). Congress is
responsible for providing funding and oversight, in which regulatory agencies are

The Transition Between Classical And Romantic Styles
Franz Joseph Haydn was a kind, simple man whose eyes beamed with benevolence
(Dies), and he never forgot his humble origin. His string quartet known as The Lark
embodies the Romantic and Neoclassical styles of its time and is a well represented
example of the Apollonian Order aesthetic. He was an important aspect in the
transition between the Classical and Romantic styles as well as an excellent model
for the music of his time.
Joseph Haydn was born March 31, 1732, in the marshy town of Rohrau, Lower
Austria. Born as one of six surviving children of Maria and Mathias Haydn, he
began his education in music at a young age and, upon maturity, began his work as a
freelance musician. He quickly started to acquire aristocratic patronage, and in 1761
gained a music director (or Kappelmeister) position at the EsterhГЎza Palace in
Austria working for Prince Nicolaus I. His composition of the six string quartets
comprising Opus 64 was completed in 1790 after nearly thirty years of
experiment. Opus 64 was one of two sets of six string quartets commissioned by
and written for Johann Tost, a violinist in Prince Nicolaus Esterhazy s orchestra.
The quartets were said to be encouraged by the Prince s housekeeper, Maria Anna
von Jerlischek (or Fräulein Nanette as referred to by Haydn in his letters to Maria
Anna von Genzinger), who would later become Tost s wife. The period during which
the quartet was written occurred on the cusp of Romanticism, in the midst of the

Heroism In Hamlet
The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, often shortened to Hamlet, is a tragedy
written by William Shakespeare at an uncertain date between 1599 and 1602. Set in
the Kingdom of Denmark, the play dramatises the revenge Prince Hamlet is
instructed to enact on his uncle Claudius. Claudius had murdered his own brother,
Hamlets father King Hamlet, and subsequently seized the throne, marrying his
deceased brother s widow, Hamlet s mother Gertrude.
Hamlet is Shakespeare s longest play and among the most powerful and influential
tragedies in English literature, with a story capable of seemingly endless retelling
and adaptation by others. The play seems to have been one of Shakespeare s most
popular works during his lifetime It has inspired writers from Goethe and Dickens
to Joyce and Murdoch, and has been described as the world s most filmed story after
Cinderella .
The story of Hamlet ultimately derives from the legend of Amleth, preserved by 13th
century chronicler Saxo Grammaticus in his Gesta Danorum, as subsequently retold

reasonably faithful version of Saxo s story was translated into French in 1570 by

A Brief Note On The Twisted Pair Cables
2.3.3 Twisted Pair
There are two types of Twisted Pair Cables, Shielded Twisted Pair (STP), and
Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP). Shielded Twisted Pair Cables have a very thin
wire mesh that shield and protect the transmission. STP cables are used for the
older phone networks, as well as data and network communications which are
clearer and have less interference with the outside. Whereas Unshielded Twisted Pair
Cables have no wire mesh and are therefore not protecting the transmission in the
wiring. UTPs are mainly used for Local Area Networks (LAN) as well as telephone
connections, however these are more vulnerable than STPs (Shielded Twisted Pair).

socially acceptable amount of money or material possession. Socially acceptable
may be described as lacking the means to satisfy one s basic needs. An average
working citizen may not realize what poverty is really like. As stated in a Youtube

eyes to an America that you didn t know existed. Additionally, it is often seen that
poverty is a cycle. It passes over the generations because of the difficulties it takes to
break free from it. Poverty can be a cycle that passes from generation to generation,

Breaking the Cycle of Poverty in Young Families, explains what the two generation
approach is and its tactics. The two generation approach is an arrangement that

their way out of poverty. They equip both generations to do better in schools and get
better jobs. One of the techniques the program uses is setting goals with the whole
family after talking about their challenges. When goals are reached, rewards and
incentives are given. The ultimate goal is to teach economic mobility. As a result,
most parents in the six month program took steps to become more self sufficient, and
the children achieved goals like better grades and saving money (Johnston2 6). If
more of these programs were spread throughout the country, poverty could majorly be
helped. Whole family poverty situations could be solved.

The Puritan Settlers And How Puritanism Involved
Aspects...
In one of the stories about the American founding, settlers that came to America
inherited a vast, unpopulated land . Due to the abundance of land, settlers did not
have to fight for resources . Therefore, everyone had had an equal opportunity and it
followed that there was no need for a hierarchical feudalistic system in order to
distribute the land . This in turn became the foundation of American liberal thought.
Additionally, the settlers had also adopted some ancient republican ideas and this led
to the creation of a complex American political thought with characteristics of both
liberalismand republicanism. Although both paradigms seem to contradict each other
to a large extent and hence one would expect that both paradigms may be unable to
coexist in the same political environment, in this essay, I argue that in American
politics, liberalism and republicanism coexist, interact and overlap to a large extent.
This is illustrated in the adoption of both paradigms by the settlers of the New World.
For this essay, I will focus specifically on the Puritan settlers and how Puritanism
involved aspects of both republicanism and liberalism. Additionally, I will illustrate
how both paradigms are also present to a large extent in the respective, uniquely
American arguments of both the anti federalists and federalists and in the
Constitution and its 10 amendments.
For the purposes of this essay, I define liberalism as a school of political thought
concerned with liberty,
Amasis Treating Dionysus
In The Amasis Painter and his world: vase painting in sixth century B.C. Athens,
Dietrich Von Bothmer argues that Dionysos is one of the most used gods that the
Amasis Painter painted . He follows this argument with bringing up that the Amasis
Painter painted Dionysus more than 20 times. The 20 paintings prove that the Amasis
Painter has some connection with Dionysus. With this said, this paper explores why
the Amasis Painter paints Dionysus, examples of these paintings, and details of the
paintings.
Our journey begins when the Amasis Painter starts painting at the end of the sixth
century. The Amasis Painter paints on small and large vessels. He starts with attic
black figure vase painting that was first produced in Corinth around 700 B.C. Attic
black figure vase painting depicts animals and human silhouette figures in a
naturalistic detail. Additionally, attic black figure vases have vessel borders and
edges that are decorated with floral, lotus, and palmette designs. The Amasis Painter
includes these details to every vase and sometimes adds white to his paintings.
The Amasis Painter paints two scenes that involve Dionysus on one panel amphora

The first thing I notice that both the figures are made out of ceramic. In Figure 3,
Dionysus is in the middle and the four youths are around him. The panel amphora
has all dark colors, but Dionysus clothes are white just like both figures before.
The Amasis Painter could have given him a different color outfit to make him
stand out more since the youths clothes are very similar to his. Dionysus is
holding a drinking horn in his left hand, and wearing a long chiton and a mantle
draped over his shoulders and arms. He is also wearing an ivy wreath on his head.
The man Dionysus is looking at has a spear and both dogs have a collar, but no leash.
These very small things show that the Amasis Painter pays attention to
Simple Delivery Research Paper
In the cattle business, unexpected things happen almost every day. A simple
delivery assist is one of many events that can happen during the calving season. It is
a vital skill that cattlemen must be prepared to use whenever necessary to save the
life of a newborn calf and its mother.
When you observe a cow in labor distress, obtain the following supplies and bring
them to your clean, well tended barn: obstetrical chains and handles, several dry
towels, dry straw, warm, soapy water, and obstetrical gloves and lubricant (if
desired). The first step is to herd the cow into the barn, keeping her as comfortable
as possible. Make sure the straw has been spread out in birthing stall beforehand.

obstetrical gloves and lubricant, if desired. Then, feel inside the cow s birth canal.
Make sure the calf s feet, legs, and head are correctly aligned. Legs, feet, and head
should be straight ahead, or in a superman position. Grab your OB chains. Loop the
chains and place the loop above the fetlock (just above the ankle ) on each foot.
Then, make a half hitch and loop it just under the dewclaw. Examine loops to make
sure they are secured to the foot so they won t fall off during the pull. When the
chains are securely in place, hook the obstetrical chain handles on each chain. Keep
one handle a few inches farther away from the foot than the other this is to help the
shoulders pass through the birth canal easier. Once handles are placed, begin
pulling the calf. Pull with even, constant pressure. When the cow pushes or strains
pull harder with her. Once the head and shoulders are out, turn the calf one quarter
of a turn as you pull. This will help his hips pass through the birth canal. Once the
calf is fully out of the mother , move the calf several feet away from the cow s feet

Myasthenia Gravis Research Paper
Myasthenia Gravis is a weakness and rapid fatigue of muscles under voluntary
control. This disease is caused by an interruption in communication between nerves
and muscles at the neuromuscular junction; this is the place where nerve cells
connect with the muscles they control. The muscle weakness increases through
periods of activity and then improves during rest. For example, muscles that control
eye and eyelid movement, facial expression, chewing, talking, and swallowing, these
are the most often muscles affected. Other muscles that can be affected are muscles
that control breathing and neck and limb movement can be affected. Symptoms
include, difficulty swallowing, double vision, unsteady walk, weakness in arm and
leg muscles, and difficulties... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main treatments are medications, therapy, and surgery. Some medications used to
treat Myasthenia Gravis are anticholinesterase agents such as neostigmine and
pyridostigmine. These medications help improve neuromuscular transmission and to
increase muscle strength. Victims may also take Immunosuppressive drugs, such as
prednisone, azathioprine, cyclosporine, mycophenolate mofetil, and tacrolimus.
These medications also help improve muscle strength. The medications work by
suppressing the production of abnormal antibodies. When taking these medications
you must be carefully monitored by a physician. An important therapy used to treat
the disease would be plasmapheresis, this procedure is when a specialist removes
blood that is infected with abnormal antibodies. Therapies may be used especially
during difficult periods of weakness. Lastly surgery is an option, one of the surgery
procedures is thymectomy, this is the surgical removal of the thymus gland. This is
often abnormal in some cases. With the surgery it reduces symptoms in some cases
without thymoma and may cure people by rebalancing the immune system. Typically
thymectomy is recommended for individuals with thymoma. Thymoma is an
uncommon tumor in the thymus. A Neurologist will determine which treatment
option is best for a patient, it all depends on the severity of the weakness, which
muscles are affected, the age of the patient, and any other associated medical
Psychological Ownership Paper
In psychology, ownership is the feeling that something is yours. People can feel
ownership about a variety of things, material and immaterial in nature. Is there a way
organizations can benefit from higher employee engagement, increased financial
performance and lower turnover, simply by increasing feelings of ownership? In mid
1970s, the USA carried out the Employee Stock Ownership Plans. The thought behind
this project was that if employees held some shares of the company, it would enhance
their sense of responsibility toward the enterprise and activate their positive attitude
toward the work. Interestingly, researchers found that there were no significant
differences in organizational performance between an enterprise which adopted...

Pierce, Kostova and Dirks (2001) define it: psychological ownership is that state
where an individual feels as though the target of the ownership, or a piece of that
target is theirs For example, this company is MINE . However, Pierce and Jussila
(2010) note that mine can also be ours , meaning the object has a connection with the
self while simultaneously having a connection to another individual or group.
Although it is important to note that most of the empirical work on psychological
ownership has focused exclusively upon psychological ownership over one s job
or organization. Van Dyne and Pierce (2004) took it one step further, and called for
additional research to approach and examine feelings of ownership toward specific
targets within organizations. They examined various aspects of the job or
organization, such as specific job roles, designated workspaces, important projects,
new ideas and so on. This is because these objects may be more concrete or personal
and thus foster stronger feelings of ownership than more complex, shared targets such
as the organization as a whole.
According to Jussila, Tarkiainen, Sarstedt and Hair (2015) psychological ownership
is both cognitive and affective. In other words, it reflects the employees awareness,
thoughts, and beliefs regarding the object of possession and the personal
A Theory Of Change Process
Introduction A theory of change is a method used in community or organizational
planning that identifies preconditions for a desired change to occur. The theory of
change process works by first articulating an ultimate goal; the desired change. The
next step is to work backwards from the ultimate goal by identifying outcomes that lie
along the road to change. Outcomes occurring in both the short term and long term
are defined, as are the prerequisites to arrive at them. Next, a proposed intervention
for initiating action that will theoretically lead to the short term and long term
outcomes, and eventually the ultimate goal, is clearly outlined. The resources
required to support the success of the proposed intervention are then identified....

According to their newsletter, GTC (2007) recaptured their mission statement that
was developed at the 1998 tribal member planning meeting. The first line of the
mission statement is to re settle the traditional village of Georgetown as a tribal
communal place (GTC, 2007, p.2). This theory of change will strategize a series of
events that will assist GTC in planning to achieve this goal.
Long term outcomes Long term outcomes are essentially checkpoints situated along
the road to the change which immediately precede the ultimate goal. When the long
terms outcomes are achieved, the condition for the desired change to occur
becomes present. A long term outcome GTC should plan to arrive at along the road
to change is for several tribal members to be residing in Georgetown for at least six
months per year. Establishing residency in Georgetown leads to an increase in
population which leads the goal of a being a successful, inhabited community. A
second long term outcome that will enhance the conditions for achievement of the
ultimate goal is for GTC to own and operate a small business in Georgetown. Tribal
members residing in Georgetown will benefit by having an opportunity to earn a
small income to help with living expenses. The community of Georgetown and
surrounding villages will benefit from the creation of jobs and stimulated economy.
Georgetown Tribal Council will benefit by earning unrestricted funds to continue

Benefits Of Marjoram
Marjoram (Origanum majorana) is an aromatic herb in the mint family which
originated in Egypt and Arabia. It is also widely referred to as Oregano. Marjoram

the room. I immediately went into the kitchen. They don t care about me at all.
They wouldn t even care if I died. It was a late afternoon and I was starting to get
hungry. I looked in the fridge for something to eat. There wasn t much. Just baked
beans, a loaf of bread and ham. I decided I would have a ham sandwich. After my

Essay on The Life of Konstantin Tsiolokovsky
Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (1857 1935) was a Russian mathematics teacher who in 1903
published the Tsiolkovsky formula which is an equation that remains the basis of
spacecraft engineering even today. This formula established the relationships among
rocket speed, the speed of the gas at exit, and the mass of the rocketand its propellant.
Tsiolkovsky also conducted theoretical work on the design of liquid fuel rocket
engineering which included the ideas of throttling capability and multi staging,
gyroscopes, escape velocities from the Earth s gravitational field, and the principle
of action and reaction. He paved the way for Sputnik I (the world s first artificial

In 1922, Oberth submitted a doctoral thesis on rocketry By Rocketry to Space for
his Ph.D. degree from the University of Heidelberg, which was also rejected. In
1923, he published his first draft of his book, The Rocket Into Planetary Space .
The Rocket Into Planetary Space introduced the idea of the optimal velocity that
minimises propellant consumption, and explained how rockets could escape the
Earth s gravitational pull. The book also described the details of liquid propellant
engines and calculated propellant exhaust velocities and from this explored the
theory that rockets could operate in a vacuum where they could travel faster than
their own exhaust. Other ideas explored rocket staging, film cooling of the engine
walls, and strengthening the structure by pressurising propellant tanks. A detailed
design of a two stage rocket with extensive supporting engineering calculations was
presented. The rocket used liquid oxygen as an oxidiser. The fuel was an alcohol
water mixture for the first stage engine and liquid hydrogen for the second stage
engine. The liquid oxygen with the alcohol water mixture was used in the German A
4 (V 2) ballistic missile in the 1940s. He also suggested the possibility of launching
satellites into orbit (called observation stations) which could be used for
communications and for studying Earth from space in terms of surveying war
operations and spotting
Argument Against A Paid Maternity Leave Essay
All of the above are strong arguments for the pressing necessity of a mandated paid
maternity leave. Nevertheless, the many opponents of this initiative are arguing
otherwise.
One argument against a paid maternity leave is based on the assumption that one of
the parents should not be working in the first place. In other words, a full time stay at
home parent is beneficial to the development of the child and therefore a paid limited
time maternity leave is redundant and is simply a waste of resources. Suzanne
Venker, a writer, insists that According to Public Agenda, 70% of parents with
children under age five believe having a parent at home is best. And 63% disagree
that children in daycare receive just as good care and attention as with a stay at
home parent. These findings are commensurate with 2014 Pew data that shows 60%
of Americans say children are better off when a parent stays home to focus on the
family. ( Why Paid Maternity Leave Is Not the Answer. ) According to these
findings, Americans are unlikely to agree to encourage mothers to put their children
in childcare and go back to work, let alone spend money on a paid maternity leave.
Nice try, Ms. Venker, but let s continue to read the mentioned 2014 Pew data till the
end: Stay at home mothers are younger, poorer and less educated than their working
counterparts. For example, 34% of stay at home mothers are poor, compared with
12% of working mothers. ( 7 Key Findings about Stay at home Moms. ) Let s

Persuasive Essay About. Essay websites: What is a persuasive essay

  • 1. Persuasive Essay About Crafting a persuasive essay about oneself may appear deceptively simple, but in reality, it poses a unique set of challenges. Unlike conventional persuasive essays that often revolve around external topics or issues, writing about oneself demands a delicate balance between self- promotion and humility. Striking the right tone becomes a formidable task, as one must navigate the fine line between confidence and arrogance. Another hurdle in composing such an essay lies in the introspective nature of the task. Delving into one's own experiences, qualities, and accomplishments requires a level of self-awareness that can be uncomfortable. It necessitates introspection that goes beyond surface-level observations, pushing the writer to explore deeper aspects of their personality, motivations, and growth. Moreover, the challenge extends to avoiding clichГ©s and platitudes. Narrating personal anecdotes and achievements without resorting to overused phrases or generic statements is essential. Readers can quickly become disengaged if the narrative lacks authenticity or fails to offer a fresh perspective on the individual. Additionally, the essay must be structured coherently, with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Balancing the personal and persuasive elements requires a strategic approach to ensure that the essay not only highlights individual strengths but also persuades the reader of the writer's unique value. In the end, writing a persuasive essay about oneself is a task that demands a high level of self- reflection, honesty, and a keen understanding of one's audience. It's an intricate dance between self-promotion and relatability, making it a writing challenge that is both personal and professional. If you find yourself grappling with the complexities of such an essay, fear not. Assistance is available, and similar essays, along with a myriad of other writing services, can be conveniently ordered on HelpWriting.net. Professional support can provide the guidance needed to navigate the intricacies of self-promotion and persuasion, ensuring your essay strikes the right chords with your audience. • 2. Symbolism In Blade Runner When Blade Runner was released in 1982, it was greeted with a lukewarm reception by general movie goers and critics alike. Director Ridley Scott s film a futuristic tale about a group of renegade replicants (android slave labor banned on Earth, used in the colonization of space) and the police officer (Rick Deckard, played by Harrison Ford) hired to kill them was criticized for being too gloomy and too dense. However, since its dismal box office run, Blade Runnerhas emerged as one of the most thematically and stylistically influential science fiction films in recent history. There are two key literary devices of the film that play a key role in relaying themes. The first is setting the time, place, and context of the story. In some literature, the setting is rich and complex, a culture of its own, a set of rules alien to the reader that the characters in the story live by. The second is symbolism, when a writer uses a tangible object to represent a higher, more complex notion or idea. In Blade Runner, Scott uses key traits of the setting and symbols as a means to propose the moral dilemmas that will one day face humanity due to its fascination with technology. The setting of the film is possibly the most important device in terms of theme. Blade Runner takes place in Los Angeles during the year 2017. In the opening shot, Scott immediately exposes us to the side effects of a full century of industrialization: Factories fill the cityscape, pouring a never ending stream of smoke into the sky. What was once sunny Southern California is now covered by a constant layer of pollution that blurs night and day. Wrecked and abandoned skyscrapers trash the city. Acid rain pours continuously. The overall sensation of the opening scene has a sobering effect on the viewer. After decades of technological advances for the betterment of society, what remains is a trashed, almost uninhabitable planet that has been virtually abandoned. In essence, Scott warns us that technology has damaging effect on both the environment and culture. The dreary setting of the film possibly me most powerful device Scott uses in order to relay his warning, but an equally important message is symbolically demonstrated by the powerful Tyrell
  • 3. Alpha Sorority Analysis In my opinion the purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. is to better society as a whole through the promotion of sisterhood, scholarship and service to it s member and mankind. They are constantly evolving and reevaluating the needs of the human race. This is best emphasized in the New Dimensions of Service, which outlines the five targets of the organization as it pertains to service. I believe these targets are realistic, necessary and embody the main principle of Alpha Kappa Alpha and how they are all necessary for the next principle to work. Sisterhood, scholarship and service are principle that I believe I embody and will continue to uphold if allowed membership into Alpha Kappa Alpha. Throughout my three years at the University... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that I posses the level of ethical standards and integrity and dedication to sisterhood and love for service, required to uphold the reputation of Alpha Kappa Alpha. These characteristics are expressed in my actions and the strives I make to and improve my character daily through what I call small victories : small things that can be done to better myself and others daily. These are achieved through academic integrity and doing my part, to volunteer, mentor and help people any time presented the opportunity. My dedication to sisterhood in my opinion is rarely matched and is one I have been nurturing for years, starting as a Girl Scout, continuing to Girls In The Game program and most recently apart of a Sisters Inc, a mentoring/leadership program that I ve had the pleasure to be involved with in for over six years and have been involved with on numerous levels; mentee, mentor, ambassador and alumni commitee. I ve been afforded the opportunity to make life long friends, mentor girls, build self esteem and develop in my journey to being an all around model citizen. All of these programs not only showed me the importance of sisterhood but also scholarship and service, showing me that a real sister are those that will help you and will except your help back. A real sister is one who you never have to sacrifice your love of service you re your dedication to scholarship for and lastly love you like blood. Lastly I believe that my love of service is characteristic I believe that I can use to maintain the status of Alpha Kappa Alpha, from a young age my grandmother would preach to me do unto others... . From a young I knew it was my responsibility to assist someone in need any chance I am given. And have carried this belief to every organization I have joined for the Girl Scouts of America to my recent membership into the Student Activity
  • 4. Questions On Common Types Of Contracts Contract Types There are multiple factors that influence the type(s) of contract(s) utilized/selected within a project. Some of these factors include: the level of uncertainty related to the scope of work, the amount of project risk willing to be assumed, importance of meeting schedule milestone dates, and the need for projected costs, among others (Darnall Preston, 2013). Whatever the driving factors are in the selection process, once established, the typeof contract selected can have a significant influence on the decision making process related to the trade off of the triple constraints of cost, time, and performance (Kerzner, 2013). This paper will briefly explain five common types of contracts focusing primarily on how each type can affect project constraint trade off. Common Types of Contracts There are two general types of contracts: fixed price and cost reimbursable, with each main type having several variations (Darnall Preston, 2013). The two most common variations of fixed price contracts are, firm fixed price and fixed price incentive fee (Kerzner, 2103). For cost reimbursable contracts, the three most common variations are, the cost plus incentive fee, the cost plus award fee, and the cost plus fixed fee (Kerzner, 2013). Each type and variation influences project trade off decisions relative to the triple constraints of cost, time, and performance differently (Kerzner, 2013). Firm Fixed Price (FFP) In a FFP contract, all costs are incorporated
  • 5. Analysis of Fabulous Superlatives Concert This may sound trite, but the concert as I saw it is best described by the name of the band, the Fabulous Superlatives!!! On every level this was a concert I will remember for a long time. The ArtsQuest venue was new to me and I was impressed with the ease of finding it, the free amble parking, the friendly staff and the great sound and seating. It is a modern impressive structure built around the old Bethlehem Steel Works. The ruins of the old plant are used as a visual backdrop to the new and impressive entertainment complex. There are a couple of restaurants, and a movie theater housed next to the concert venue. The food was very good, the serviced just great and I d would and plan to go back. Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives took the stage with a thunderous explosion of applause form the sold out audience. It was evident that many folks where their to see Marty as the primary reason for coming that evening. His band is truly both fabulous and superlative. The line up is: Harry Stenson on drums and background vocals; Kenny Vughan on lead and acoustic guitar; Paul Martin bass and background vocals and Clarence the guitar accompanying Marty Stuart. Clarence is the guitar played by the fabled Clarence White. Clarence and Roger s Rickenbacker 370/12 guitars were stars in their own right getting numerous pictures taken of them before, during and after the show. Marty , who is a guitar collector, also owns Hank a guitar one owned by Hank Williams Sr.
  • 6. Police Subculture Research Paper The Thin Blue Line of Sub culture Police officers everyday are involved in their own sub culture, which shapes their behaviour and attitude towards society. This sub culture is made through the bond shared through serving the community and looking out for one another day in and day out while performing his/her duties as law enforcement officers. Sticking together allows them to conquer their battles against any hardships or crisis situations faced in their day to day agenda. The us versus them mentality, which policeofficers have been labeled with raises suspicion on how law enforcement officers truly feel about the sub culture and the community, which they serve. Every day officers are subjected to seeing brutal crisis situations, which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This term relates to police officers refusing to come forward when he/she knows there is an officer partaking in an ethical or criminal matter (Pollock, 2015). The police subculture has such a strong grip on individual officers because of the cop code and not giving up other officers. When a police officer decides to inform a supervisor of police misconduct often threats and retaliation occurs to that officer (Pollock, 2015). Many reported incidence when an officer does come forward it shows there is a lot more officer misconduct then people are aware. Police officers will lie to one s supervisor, and will attempt to cover up another officer s misconduct (Pollock, 2015). Things like police subculture and the blue curtain of secrecy mask the misconduct within a police agency. Doing this specifically would show how an officer is more likely to back up his/her fellow officer then do what it right for his/her community. Because of this we can conclude police officers are cynical towards one s community, in result of police

  • 8. Drying Is A Mass And Heat Transfer Process Essay Chapter 1 : Introduction Drying is a simultaneous mass and heat transfer process that converts a liquid, solid or semi solid feedstock into a solid product having lower moisture content. This is usually done by applying heat to evaporate the liquid into a vapor phase. Sometimes drying takes place below the triple point of the liquid to be removed and the solid phase is directly converted to vapor phase via sublimation as in case of freeze drying. [1] As drying must involve a phase change of the liquid to be removed, it is considered as one of the most energy intensive unit operations. This is due to the high latent heat of vaporization, as well as, the inefficiency of using hot air as the most common drying medium. Hence, the operating cost of dryers represents their major cost item. Drying is an important process in many fields such as chemical, agricultural, ceramics and pharmaceutical industries. It may be done to have free flowing solids that are easy to handle, to facilitate the preservation and storage of different materials, to reduce the transportation costs or to achieve desired quality of products. [2] Regeneration of adsorptive beds is an important drying application. The operation of such beds includes three periods. During the first period adsorption takes place till breakthrough. This is followed by steaming period where live steam is blown through the bed to remove the adsorbate from the solid desiccant. In the third period; regeneration period, the hot, moist

It really takes a good solid manager to successfully and positively deal with the issues in side with what is right for the company considering both factors: the stakeholders and the employees involved in the issue. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nowhere is this more obvious than in the scene featuring Gattacan Police, wherein Niccol consistently makes use of mid shot. Through this, Niccol highlights the extent of the difference between the police and ordinary Gattacan citizens. Indeed, not only do the officers fail to fit in , but their relatively lowliness on the Gattacan social ladder is a frequent source of problems in the city. To make these police the subject the shot as Niccol does, is to leave the viewer expecting more from the officers then they can realistically provide. Interestingly, the impotence of the Gattacan Police to achieve justice in an unjust society is shared by Vincent s intrinsic inability to achieve his goals. However, whereas Niccol portrays Gattacan officers as consigned to his or her fate, Vincent goes to insane lengths to better himself. Niccol documents these lengths through a combination of montage and long shot, conveying the effort, time, and money invested in Vincent s leg enhancement surgery . From this, the viewer is to conceive of Gattaca as a place where perfection is expected (but rarely physiological attainted), and where every minute detail of a man or woman s physical (and genetic) characteristics are ruthlessly scrutinized. The viewer s suspicions are strongly affirmed by Niccol, whose frequent use of extreme close up not least in the case of the six fingered piano player mimic the fixations of Gattacan

  • 12. Socrates s Theory Of Justice In Plato s Republic, Socrates argues for the importance of living a just life. However, Glaucon asks why any person favors the just life over an unjust one. Glaucon would like an answer regarding this type of justice, and if it is good only for its results or good in itself. Socrates argues that justice in the individual is the balance between sprit, reason, and desire (scc. 435a). Socrates account of justice, displays a life in which a justice provides benefits not only for the individual, but also society. In this case, Socrates account of justice, does not provide a sufficient reason to be just. Socrates parallel of justice and health cannot answer Glaucon s request fully. Therefore, without sufficiently proving the inherent good of justice his claim falls apart. Socrates account of justice stems from Glaucon s arrangement of the three categories of goods: inherently good, pleasurable, or both. Glaucon asks if there is any value in simply being a just person, he comes to find that if a person can be unjust and get away with it then the unjust life is better. The first of its three categories is meant for the things that are a kind of good we like for its own sake (scc.357c) . The second category is for what s good as a result of their consequences such as exercise for fitness and sex for pleasure and children. The highest category is for things that are both good in themselves and because of their consequences. Continuing the challenge and reinforcing his second

Systemic Radionuclide Therapy Introduction The spine column is one of the most frequent sites for bone metastases that occur in patients with developed cancer, especially prostate, lung and breast. Intolerable pain is the major symptoms that appear with bone metastasis and severe pain reduces quality of life [1 4]. Treatment of spinal metastases is a multidisciplinary approach involving conventional external beam radiotherapy, surgery, narcotics, bisphosphonates, percutaneous vertebral body augmentation, systemic radionuclides, stereotactic body radiotherapy or a combination of these systemic therapies [5 8]. Such mass media labelling has resulted in such a creation of these youth subcultures that evidentially exist and they have become mainstream. Changes that occur within society and mainstream however lead to the emergence of new subcultures whereby old ones change or disappear. Such transition is apparent between these two films, from the mods within the 1960 s to chavs and hoodies today. Such behaviour was exaggerated and amplified which also created an undesired response of moral panic within society towards all youths resulting in deviancy amplification (Wilkins, 1964). Thus, mods and rockers were both labelled deviant subcultures and all youths were deemed to be part of these deviant subcultures becoming the foundation of the mainstream thinking which spiralled out of control during the late twentieth century. Such distortion of these youths proposed by Roddam s film of Quadrophenia evidentially sparked a very powerful effect. Such a powerful media effect relates to Gerbners Cultivation Theory (1986) which suggests that the perceptions of society regarding youth subcultures and crime have been heavily influenced by mass media representations. This suggests that people who engage more within the media have a higher expectation of crime and overestimate the levels of gang crime which results in an effect of their perceptions of young people. The more gang crime people see within the media, the more likely they are to be more fearful and aware of it which was a response of the film as discovered. Social structure theorists believe the key elements to such youth criminal behaviour shown by the subcultures in Quadrophenia are the dominance of social and economic structures that are noticeable in rundown areas whereby the majority of

As a regression analysis the function itself was used to find daylight hours. The hours were then compared to the original data points. This comparison resulted in a percentage error being recorded. (Refer to Appendix 5 for the results of the function and percentage errors). The highest percentage error recorded was 7.35% on February 1st 2011. This error could be because February has 29 days in a leap year but 2011 data was used. The error could also occur because only 24 data points were used, if more data points were used a more precise graph would have been generated leaving less space for error. Question 1e: Simple deriving and calculus was used to verify that the equation L=417 sinвЃЎ[2ПЂ/365 (t 81)]+744 for when the longest and shortest day of the year occur. The derivative of the function was started by using the chain rule(dy/dx=dy/du*du /dx). The derivative was found to be: dy/dx=2ПЂ/365 417 cosвЃЎ(2ПЂ/365 t 162ПЂ/365). dy/dx was made to equal 0 therefore the equation will end up looking like: 0=cosвЃЎ(2ПЂ/365 t 162ПЂ/365). When dealing with a cos curve on a unit circle cos can only be 0 at 90 degrees (ПЂ/2) and 270 degrees (3ПЂ/2) therefore meaning that to find the longest and shortest days (2ПЂ/365 t 162ПЂ/365) is made

The purpose of this paper is to examine three recent federal security laws to see if they uphold all parts of the SEC s mission. The three laws to examine are Sarbanes Oxley Act (2002); Emergency Economic Recovery Stabilization Act (2008); and Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (2010). The Sarbanes Oxley Act (2002) passed after the Enronfiasco of the early 21st century. I will first discuss how in today s society we promote to stop racismyet it is still happening everyday, and people are just blind to see it. Creating a role for race is racism, some people do not understand that. I will then talk about gender, how it is socially constructed, and labeling roles for men and women. I will also discuss how race and gender intersect in the formation of identities. How gender and race is socially constructed, us people have the power to change it but we use our power to look past it and pretend like it does not exist. Majority of society has been blinded to the fact gender and racial roles do not exist, society has created it and now we think it is the norm. Race is a concept that differentiates people based on human bodies. There is no biological basis for racial classification. Classifying people based on the colour of their skin is being racist. For example, the atmosphere surrounding the hut is cold and harsh when the creature concludes his tale and asks Victor to construct his companion. This creates meaning in the text because much like these inhospitable conditions, Victor s heart is cold blooded and calloused when it comes to the creature. Shelley s reason behind the freezing cold temperature is not only to foreshadow Victor s response, but to demonstrate the absence of color (warmth) and human sentimentality. In similar fashion, the pleasant weather in the valley of Chamounix is able to alleviate some of the guilt ridden weight placed upon Victor s shoulders from the outcome of Justine s trial. With clear skies as their background, the pinnacles of the mountains and graceful flow of the waterfalls are effective in establishing a sense of fearlessness within Victor; the power of the topography

The criteria of defining metropolitan areas changed in 2003. Smaller MSAs remained the same, but larger metropolitan areas, previously referred to as consolidated metropolitan statistical areas (CMSAs) are now defined as MSAs (see figure 1). Different portions of CMSAs, previously referred to as primary metropolitan statistical areas (PMSAs), have been redefined and reconfigured as metropolitan divisions. The Factors That Affect The Learning Process Of L2 Words Studies which support the effect of cognateness: I shall present three studies in which their findings are incompatible with Milton and Daller s (2007) findings, which disputed the impact of cognateness on L2 word learning. The first study was carried out by Willis Ohashi (2012) to investigate the factors that affect the learning process of L2 words. The participants were 69 Japanese ESL learners studying in different departments of Tokyo University for females: Linguistics, Communication, Science, Mathematics and Psychology. They studied English for a long period, 7 years or more. The subjects were given a multiple choice test in order to assess the size of their recognition of L2 words, the first seven levels of VST. They completed the test within 15 25 minutes. The researchers aimed to examine three factors: frequency, cognateness and word length involving the measurements of it, phonemes, syllables and letters. Additionally, they aimed to examine the assumed mutual and intervening relationship between the three factors, frequency, cognateness and word length, in order to examine the effect of frequency and word length on cognates and non cognates. The results of this study revealed that cognateness is strongly correlated with item facility (IF), 29%, followed by frequency, 23% suggesting that cognateness and more frequent words are easier to acquire and remember. All the three variables of word length are less correlated with (IF), between 7 to 8 %, suggesting

His string quartet known as The Lark embodies the Romantic and Neoclassical styles of its time and is a well represented example of the Apollonian Order aesthetic. He was an important aspect in the transition between the Classical and Romantic styles as well as an excellent model for the music of his time. Joseph Haydn was born March 31, 1732, in the marshy town of Rohrau, Lower Austria. Born as one of six surviving children of Maria and Mathias Haydn, he began his education in music at a young age and, upon maturity, began his work as a freelance musician. He quickly started to acquire aristocratic patronage, and in 1761 gained a music director (or Kappelmeister) position at the Esterháza Palace in Austria working for Prince Nicolaus I. His composition of the six string quartets comprising Opus 64 was completed in 1790 after nearly thirty years of experiment. Opus 64 was one of two sets of six string quartets commissioned by and written for Johann Tost, a violinist in Prince Nicolaus Esterhazy s orchestra. The quartets were said to be encouraged by the Prince s housekeeper, Maria Anna von Jerlischek (or Fräulein Nanette as referred to by Haydn in his letters to Maria Anna von Genzinger), who would later become Tost s wife. The period during which the quartet was written occurred on the cusp of Romanticism, in the midst of the American

Claudius had murdered his own brother, Hamlets father King Hamlet, and subsequently seized the throne, marrying his deceased brother s widow, Hamlet s mother Gertrude. Hamlet is Shakespeare s longest play and among the most powerful and influential tragedies in English literature, with a story capable of seemingly endless retelling and adaptation by others. The play seems to have been one of Shakespeare s most popular works during his lifetime It has inspired writers from Goethe and Dickens to Joyce and Murdoch, and has been described as the world s most filmed story after Cinderella . STP cables are used for the older phone networks, as well as data and network communications which are clearer and have less interference with the outside. UTPs are mainly used for Local Area Networks (LAN) as well as telephone connections, however these are more vulnerable than STPs (Shielded Twisted Pair). 3. In one example, a research report by National Human Services Assembly, called Breaking the Cycle of Poverty in Young Families, explains what the two generation approach is and its tactics. The two generation approach is an arrangement that helps break the cycle by offering programs that focus on the development of parents, their children, and the family as a whole. In this report, an exploratory study of these two generation programs is explained. It is shown that the programs work when you re engage parents in education and work, nurture parent child bonds, improve children s well being, and connect families with economic, social, and other supports. In the situations where these tactics were used, the results were mostly successful (NHSA1,2). One of the most important aspects of this program is focusing on the family as a whole, and how everyone in the family can be helped. In another article, Can Poverty Be Passed Down?, a specific program is described. This program, called Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath) works with parents and children to develop executive functioning skills. These are the skills that help you maintain a stable economic state. EMPath helps parents and children navigate their way out of poverty. They equip both generations to do better in schools and get better jobs. One of the techniques the program uses is setting goals with the whole family after talking about their challenges. When goals are reached, rewards and incentives are given. The ultimate goal is to teach economic mobility. As a result, most parents in the six month program took steps to become more self sufficient, and the children achieved goals like better grades and saving money (Johnston2 6). If more of these programs were spread throughout the country, poverty could majorly be helped. Whole family poverty situations could be solved.

  • 42. The Puritan Settlers And How Puritanism Involved Aspects... In one of the stories about the American founding, settlers that came to America inherited a vast, unpopulated land . Due to the abundance of land, settlers did not have to fight for resources . Therefore, everyone had had an equal opportunity and it followed that there was no need for a hierarchical feudalistic system in order to distribute the land . This in turn became the foundation of American liberal thought. Additionally, the settlers had also adopted some ancient republican ideas and this led to the creation of a complex American political thought with characteristics of both liberalismand republicanism. Although both paradigms seem to contradict each other to a large extent and hence one would expect that both paradigms may be unable to coexist in the same political environment, in this essay, I argue that in American politics, liberalism and republicanism coexist, interact and overlap to a large extent. This is illustrated in the adoption of both paradigms by the settlers of the New World. For this essay, I will focus specifically on the Puritan settlers and how Puritanism involved aspects of both republicanism and liberalism. Additionally, I will illustrate how both paradigms are also present to a large extent in the respective, uniquely American arguments of both the anti federalists and federalists and in the Constitution and its 10 amendments. For the purposes of this essay, I define liberalism as a school of political thought concerned with liberty,

Outcomes occurring in both the short term and long term are defined, as are the prerequisites to arrive at them. • 49. Benefits Of Marjoram Marjoram (Origanum majorana) is an aromatic herb in the mint family which originated in Egypt and Arabia. It is also widely referred to as Oregano. Marjoram was initially used by Hippocrates as an antiseptic agent. To the ancient Greeks, it was names as Amarakos , a symbol of love, honour and happiness. Aristotle reported it as anti poison. In the old Egypt, Marjoramwas used to disinfect and preserve food and its oil was messaged on the forehead and in the hair. Traditionally, the leaves of marjoram are employed to cure diabetes, insomnia, catarrh, asthma and nervousness.18 Today, it is commonly found in the Mediterranean region or grown in gardens around the world. In its varied forms of: marjoram essential oil, fresh or dried marjoram leaves,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The extract exhibited a marked effects in DPPH (1, 1 diphenyl 2 picrylhydrazyl) scavenging assay. 27The ethanol extracts of both stem and root has shown in vitro antioxidant activity, respectively using Spectrophotometric method by DPPH, H2O2 free radical scavenging, metal chelating and ferric ion reducing power assay. Both the extracts showed potent antioxidant activity in all models. The IC50 values were found comparable with ascorbic acid and the reducing ability of root ethanol extract.25 The ethyl alcohol, n hexane and aqueous extracts obtained from leaves and flowering tops of two marjoram Hungary and Egypt showed antioxidant activity in vitro by Spectrophotometric and Chemilaminometric method methods using DPPH and Rancimat methods.

Johnny get in here and clean this room! It s a mess and I ain t gonna raise messy children. , said Dad. I knew i hadn t made that mess. They got drunk and threw a lot of things everywhere. But, my parents just don t like me much and I m used to that. After I finished cleaning the room. I immediately went into the kitchen. They don t care about me at all. They wouldn t even care if I died. It was a late afternoon and I was starting to get hungry. I looked in the fridge for something to eat. There wasn t much. Just baked beans, a loaf of bread and ham. I decided I would have a ham sandwich. After my sandwich, My mom called, Johnny! Come here! I went into the room where I heard my... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I left the house to meet up with the gang. Outside the cul de sac, about eight houses away, Ponyboy was sitting on the curb, smoking a cigarette. I yelled, Hey Ponyboy! Ponyboy looked up and saw Johnny. He looked at his big black eyes and said, Hey Johnny come over here. Johnny walked over to where Ponyboy was standing. As he got there, Ponyboy studied him. He looked as if he had lost ten pounds. Johnny. Have you lost weight? Johnny looked surprised and said, I don t think so why? I don t know. You look skinny. Just then a car full of Socs. jumped out of the car two houses before us. Lets run for it. said ponyboy. They raced across the streets. The Socs. didn t seem to care about them much for some reason. They went into a house. What were they doing on the west side? Johnny thought. I think we better call it a day. My parents need me back now. Also im kinda hungry. Ok see ya tomorrow Johnny. When Johnny got back into his house, He already heard the yelling. He ignored the arguing and went into the kitchen. He got some apple juice and accidentally dropped the apple juice container spilling
  • 51. Essay on The Life of Konstantin Tsiolokovsky Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (1857 1935) was a Russian mathematics teacher who in 1903 published the Tsiolkovsky formula which is an equation that remains the basis of spacecraft engineering even today. This formula established the relationships among rocket speed, the speed of the gas at exit, and the mass of the rocketand its propellant. Tsiolkovsky also conducted theoretical work on the design of liquid fuel rocket engineering which included the ideas of throttling capability and multi staging, gyroscopes, escape velocities from the Earth s gravitational field, and the principle of action and reaction. He paved the way for Sputnik I (the world s first artificial satellite) and the Vostok rocket (the first of manned spaceflight).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1922, Oberth submitted a doctoral thesis on rocketry By Rocketry to Space for his Ph.D. degree from the University of Heidelberg, which was also rejected. In 1923, he published his first draft of his book, The Rocket Into Planetary Space . The Rocket Into Planetary Space introduced the idea of the optimal velocity that minimises propellant consumption, and explained how rockets could escape the Earth s gravitational pull. The book also described the details of liquid propellant engines and calculated propellant exhaust velocities and from this explored the theory that rockets could operate in a vacuum where they could travel faster than their own exhaust. Other ideas explored rocket staging, film cooling of the engine walls, and strengthening the structure by pressurising propellant tanks. A detailed design of a two stage rocket with extensive supporting engineering calculations was presented. The rocket used liquid oxygen as an oxidiser. The fuel was an alcohol water mixture for the first stage engine and liquid hydrogen for the second stage engine. The liquid oxygen with the alcohol water mixture was used in the German A 4 (V 2) ballistic missile in the 1940s. He also suggested the possibility of launching satellites into orbit (called observation stations) which could be used for communications and for studying Earth from space in terms of surveying war operations and spotting
  • 52. Argument Against A Paid Maternity Leave Essay All of the above are strong arguments for the pressing necessity of a mandated paid maternity leave. Nevertheless, the many opponents of this initiative are arguing otherwise. One argument against a paid maternity leave is based on the assumption that one of the parents should not be working in the first place. In other words, a full time stay at home parent is beneficial to the development of the child and therefore a paid limited time maternity leave is redundant and is simply a waste of resources. Suzanne Venker, a writer, insists that According to Public Agenda, 70% of parents with children under age five believe having a parent at home is best. And 63% disagree that children in daycare receive just as good care and attention as with a stay at home parent. These findings are commensurate with 2014 Pew data that shows 60% of Americans say children are better off when a parent stays home to focus on the family. ( Why Paid Maternity Leave Is Not the Answer. ) According to these findings, Americans are unlikely to agree to encourage mothers to put their children in childcare and go back to work, let alone spend money on a paid maternity leave. Nice try, Ms. Venker, but let s continue to read the mentioned 2014 Pew data till the end: Stay at home mothers are younger, poorer and less educated than their working counterparts. For example, 34% of stay at home mothers are poor, compared with 12% of working mothers. ( 7 Key Findings about Stay at home Moms. ) Let s
