Essay On Enviroment
Crafting an essay on the environment can be a challenging task that requires a careful balance of
scientific knowledge, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. The complexity of the
topic lies in the multifaceted nature of environmental issues, which span a wide range of
subjects, including climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development.
One of the difficulties in writing such an essay is the need to integrate information from various
disciplines, such as biology, ecology, geology, and sociology. This interdisciplinary approach
demands a comprehensive understanding of the interconnectedness of environmental issues and
their implications for both the natural world and human societies. Gathering relevant and up-to-
date information from credible sources is crucial to present a well-informed and evidence-based
argument.
Furthermore, addressing the global nature of environmental problems adds an additional layer of
complexity. It requires a nuanced analysis of international policies, cooperation among nations,
and the role of individuals in contributing to positive environmental change. Striking the right
balance between presenting alarming facts and inspiring hope for solutions can be a delicate
task, as the essay must educate and motivate readers without overwhelming them.
In addition to the content, the structure and organization of the essay pose another challenge.
Achieving a coherent flow of ideas while covering diverse aspects of the environment requires
careful planning and effective transitions between paragraphs. Developing a clear thesis
statement that encapsulates the main message of the essay and guides the reader through the
argument is crucial.
Ultimately, writing an essay on the environment is not just about conveying information but also
about inspiring awareness and action. The writer must engage the reader emotionally and
intellectually, fostering a sense of responsibility and urgency to address environmental
challenges. This requires effective use of language, rhetorical techniques, and a deep
commitment to the cause.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on the environment may be demanding, it is a vital
endeavor that contributes to raising awareness and promoting positive change. By tackling the
complexities of this broad and urgent topic, writers can play a crucial role in inspiring others to
take action and contribute to the preservation of our planet.

Darfur Genocide Research Paper
In 2003 there was a mass slaughter and and rape of the people in Darfur. This
happened to so many people like men, women, and children. Many people suffered
from the mass torturing. This is known as a genocide. The genocide has been
going on for about 13 years and is still going on today. This genocide is the first
genocide in the 21st century. The darfur genocide was gruesome. Since the Darfur
bloodshed was gruesome and had people attacking, it led the United States and
Court to believe it was considered a genocide. Darfur is a horrible time in history
for so many people. The Janjaweed and the Sudanese forces attacked hundreds of
villages in Darfur. The genocide is what caused so many people to suffer from the

Darfur is ranked as the bloodiest century in history (Sanders,Edmund pg.2). The
Darfur bloodshed caused so much harm to so many people. The word genocide
has so much power. Labeling Darfur as a genocide led government officials to hide
and reduce their actions (Sanders, Edmund pg. 2). Some people say that the Darfur
bloodshed is an ongoing genocide. Other people question whether it meets the legal
definition of genocide. Two consecutive American presidents and several activist
groups have defined Darfur as a genocide. I believe that the darfur bloodshed is a

Electronic Health Record ( Emr )
Introduction
Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) have become
an important component of modern health care. Nowadays, more and more countries
including developed countries and some developing countries have implemented
EMR in hospitals or clinics to provide better care to patients.
With the implementation of EMR in healthcare field, physicians are able to access
patients chart, diagnosis, treatment remotely, and they are able to get alerts about
criteria lab values or some potential medical errors.
Canada is among the top 10 countries who adopt EMR through the country.
However, compared with some European countries, there is still some way to go for
Canada. Adoption rate of EMR in Canada is about 56%, while ... Show more content

Then I will conclude other issues that may lead to poor implementation of EMR in
health organizations and what organizations can improve during the process of
procurement. Finally I will mention the trend of EMR procurement nowadays.
Canada s current state of adopting EMR
Canada has advocated and provided enough fund for the implementation of electronic
medical record across the whole country. In 2010, Canada Health Infoway received
$500 million CDN; of this amount, $380 million is to be directed to office EMR
adoption (Price, 2011).It shows that Canada pays a lot of attention to the adoption
of EMR. However, Canada still need make efforts to increase adoption rate of
EHR. From this diagram we find that there is no country which can reach 100%
EMR implementation. Some of European countries, including Norway, Netherlands,
United Kingdom and New Zealand have high EMR adoption rate which is almost
100 percent. And Australia has adoption rate of 92 percent, which is also a high
adoption rate. In comparison, Canada s EMR adoption rate is relatively low, with
only 56% adoption rate. Many physicians or health professionals are still resistant to
use EMR in Canada. According to an international comparison, less than 30% of
physician in Canada use electronic lab review, e prescribing or some other eHealth
technology, comparing with rates of greater than 90% in the
Just Absolute In The Republic By Plato
I believe that fundamentally, we can all agree that disagreements have become an
inevitable aspect of human nature, which has lasted for millennia. From what I ve
observed, this stems from our ability to perceive things differently especially in how
we define, value and categorize certain aspects of our lives. Although this is not a
problem pertaining to simple matters but issues do arrive with more complex ideas
and ideologies. In the Republic by Plato, Socrates asks his friends to define more
complex matters such as just and courage in their own words. There we see a
distinction between what is knowledge and what is our beliefs which occur as two
different spheres. Some believe that one sphere should be more highly valued than
the other... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

instead of figuring what caused the shadows on the wall, those in the cave decided

away from yearning for knowledge and balancing both sphere in their lives. Thinking
about my own childhood and education, the majority of that time was spent with facts
being crammed into my head for the sake of passing an exam which is the opposite of
the post fact victim. The essential point is that there must be balance between these

Using Journals Effectively in Classrooms Essay
Using Journals Effectively in Classrooms
Journal writing seems to be a popular element teachers use to give students the
opportunity to become involved in the classroom without always speaking. However,
is journal writing a beneficial tool for student learning? How can it become more
effective in the classroom? There are many types of journals which can be used in a
classroom. I have decided to look at the different types of journals that exist to gain a
broad overview of journal usage. This is to help me decide what the most effective
journal for this classroom would be.
First, let us look at what journal writing is. Journal writing is a method to provide
students with an alternate way of expression. It promotes individual ... Show more

Journals are also a way for students to express ideas without feeling pressure to
respond in a certain manner in order to receive a good grade.
Along with the freedom to express thoughts and concerns, a journal also can
provide the freedom in which you express these thoughts and concerns. Journals
are considered an artist s notebook. Journal entries are normally done by using
words, however there is a move to allow students to use photographs, drawings,
paintings, or any creative way the student may choose to express themselves.
According to Teaching Writing written by Gail Tompkins, the purpose of journal
writing is for students to use journals to 1) record personal experiences, 2) explore
reactions and interpretations, and 3) record and analyze information. These criteria
or aspects can be applied to any and all disciplines. I think that the most important
place to include journal wrtiting is in the English classroom. This is where writing
begins to take shape. Since it such a vital aspect of everyday life, students should
feel comfortable expressing themselves and should have the means to do so. Journals
allow students the opportunity to visual express themselves and to see their ideas on

Fidel Castro, Cro, And Macro And The Cuban Revolution
Che wrote in his farewell letter to Castro in 1964 that his most sacred duty in life
was, to fight against imperialism wherever it may be. Che was successful in
eradicating the presence of U.S. imperialism in Cuba. Che s relationship with Fidel
Castro began back when Fidel was exiled to Mexico by General Batista the dictator
of Cuba. Che when asked what his primary goals were responded, From the political
point of view, the first thing we want is to be masters of our own destiny, a country
free from foreign interference, a country that seeks out its own system of
development . Che and Castro were united in the belief of freeing the world from
oppression and imperialism, especially U.S. imperialism.
In retrospect, the Cuban Revolution was more than a revolution of ideas, but a
revolution of transforming the entire Cuban economy and society. Through Che s
idea of transforming the mind of each Cuban citizen into the New Man and the
Agrarian Land Reform in the early stages of the revolution many were optimistic.
Castro s regime believed in giving power back to the peasants and in liberating the
country from U.S. dominance. Many of these ideals seemed promising, but Castro
and Che neglected the fact that the Cuban economy depended so much on sugar as
a staple product, and the U.S. market. Castro, and Che lack what this paper will try
to provide hindsight. Through the analysis of secondary sources Che s image, ideas,
successes, and failures will be analyzed to prove why the Cuban Revolution was
successful due to Che s influence.
Che s Marxist beliefs transformed from his early days to being an active participant in
the Cuban revolution. The revolution itself allowed Che to truly understand the
concept of Marxism not through studying, but through individual action and putting
the ideas of Marx into action. Che after the Cuban Revolution put his belief into
words stating, Where one really learns is in a revolutionary war; every mistake
teaches you more than a million volumes of books . Truth through action was the
only way one could be a true Marxist. Because Che s foco theory exhibited success
in Cuba its doctrine was exported to numerous countries, and many were able to

doubt something everybody knew about Simpson was that he could play football
with the best of them. He was an All American athlete among several other things.
He was named NFL Player of the Year in 1973 and played in six pro bowls. He later
was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985. (Brennan). In the year of
1967 Simpson married his first wife Marguerite L. Whitley, he was nineteen at the
time. Together they had Arnelle L. Simpson, Jason L. Simpson, and Aaren Lashone
Simpson. In August 1979, five months after the couple divorced, Aaren drowned in
the family s swimming pool a month before her second birthday. (St. Petersburg

happen in the year 1977. O.J. met Nicole Brown waiting tables at a little nightclub

father; a father she had a distant and unemotional relationship with. Growing up Rita

This book touched me profoundly. I grew up without my father and met him when
I was 20 years old. Meeting him was very challenging for me because I was
consumed with so much anger and I blamed him for not being there for me. In
reading this book I am able to realize that we do not always get to choose the path
we walk down and sometimes life s circumstances shape the people we become, for
better or worse. This book has made me want to give my own father a chance to
explain to me what his life has been like, so that I might have a better
understanding of who he is. As I continue my journey through school, I am better
able to assess individuals and situations and have a level of empathy without being
judgmental. As children we often feel like we know who our parents are but there
are so many unanswered questions and hidden lives that it makes it difficult for
children to relate to their parents. Each of our paths has impacted us in both
negative or positive ways and being able to understand that this affects the
decisions that we make can make unpleasant situations a bit easier to digest. Seeing
how Rita felt closer to her father as an adult once she got to know him, makes me
feel like there is still hope for my father and I. If Rita s father would have received
help for the trauma he had gone through I believe he could have been a better father
to Rita while she was growing up. Untreated trauma can affect a family on so many

Hashimoto s Thyroiditis Disease
Introduction
Has a medical professional diagnosed you with Hashimoto s disease? Or has a
doctor given a Hashimoto s disease diagnosis to someone close to you, perhaps in
your family? You must be wondering how this could happen. What will you need to
do now? How will this affect your day to day life? What happens next? What does
the future likely hold for you or your loved one?
You may not have known this before you got news of your condition, but Hashimoto
s disease is the most common cause of hypothyroidism in the developed world, and it
affects literally millions of patients. You are definitely not alone with this condition!
Hypothyroidism is a medical term, and what it means is simply low thyroid ... Show

Simply put, Hashimoto s disease is an autoimmune disease in which the body attacks
the thyroid. What does that mean? Read on for further information.
What Is the Thyroid, and What Does It Do in the Body?
The thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland. You would find it located in the lower neck,
right below the Adam s apple. The location is the same in both men and women.
What the thyroid does is create and store thyroid hormone. It then releases the
hormone in appropriate amounts to keep the body s metabolism functioning at a
normal level. If there is too much thyroid hormone, this is known as hyperthyroidism.
In hyperthyroidism, the body s metabolism increases. This condition can cause high
blood pressure, high heart rate, nervousness, palpitations, and severe weight loss. Too
little thyroid hormone, on the other hand, can cause tiredness, depression, memory
loss, dry skin, brittle hair, and weight gain among many other symptoms.
Incidentally, there are actually two compounds made in the thyroid that are called
thyroid hormone. The most abundant is T4, also known as thyroxine, which is then
converted to T3, or triiodothyronine. T3 is the active form that produces the effects
on metabolism.
So How Does Hashimoto s Disease Affect the Thyroid?
Hashimoto s thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease in which the body s normal defense
mechanisms attack the thyroid gland. This causes inflammation in the thyroid, which
at first causes uncontrolled
Obstacles In The Titans
The T.C. William Titans fought and overcame many obstacles throughout the season.
Some of these obstacles included racism, the team falling apart, and biased referees.
Even though all odds were against them, the Titans pulled through and managed to
win the state championship. The first, and main obstacle that the Titans faced was
racism. Racism was prevalent throughout the whole movie, but was worst in the
beginning as the team had not learned to accept each other yet. White players and
parents didn t want black players or a black coach, and many wanted to boycott T.C.
Williams for allowing it. Head coach, Herman Boone, solved this at the team s camp
by forcing the players to get to know each other, or face practice multiple times a day.
Racism continued throughout the movie, mostly from people outside of the team,
but there was occasional racial tension within the team. The Titans faced many other
obstacles throughout the season, but racism was the biggest one.... Show more content

In one of the Titans games, they noticed that they were not playing together as well as
they had been previously, and that tensions were high. To combat this, the boys
called a team meeting. At the team meeting, they realized that they needed to raise
the positive energy and bond a little more at their upcoming game. To do this, they
decided to sing during their usual warm up, which had the added benefit of
distracting the other team during their warm up. Without quickly realizing that the
team was falling apart and that they needed to do something to fix it, the Titans
wouldn t have been able to win the state
Examples Of Globalization In The Movie Lion
Globalization has been presented in almost all of the movies today. In the movie Lion
, a big part that helped the main character find his way was through technology, using
media, trade, and transportation as the main factors. In this film, the producers and
directors took a true story about a little boy s unfortunate mishap that turned around
and changed his life. As he went into his adulthood he used technology and
transportation to find where he came from, and through globalization it abled him to
find his way back home.
Throughout the movie the train symbolized the transportation factor of globalization.
The train was there in the beginning when the boy lost his way and, was there at the
end when he found it. In the modern world, trains, planes, cars, and trucks is what
we use to travel or transport goods. Yes, sometimes we can lose our path but
transportation also helps us find our way back. Saroo, the main character of this

Napoleon Bonaparte s Big Dictator In Small Packaging
Big Dictator in Small Packaging Tall, dark, and handsome are not the adjectives one
might use to describe Napoleon Bonaparte. Vulgar, ruthless, and conniving are the
ones some would if they were so inclined... Despite the controversy over the
shockingly short man s rule, his road to success and his untimely downfall
undeniably played a large role in shaping modern France. However, what is more
interesting is what shaped this historic dictator. And, it all began with his birth.
Napoleon Bonaparte s early life turned from bitter sadness to unexpected
accomplishment. Born August 15, 1769 into a large, impoverished family during a
war between his homeland Corsicaand the mighty France, it seemed that, even then,
his livelihood and well being were being challenged. His parents, Letizia and
Carlo, wrestled to keep food on the table after the French war, and chose to move
to France to pursue a better life. To Napoleon s distaste, his father was quick to
submit to French customs and began to dress and behave just like a Frenchman (
To Destiny ). Furthermore, when Bonaparte turned nine, his father gave him his
first stepping stone by procuring him a scholarship to a French school. It was at
this school that Bonaparte began to truly feel set apart. With his yellow, Corsican
skin, prideful ambience, and the fact that he hardly spoke French, Napoleon did not
even try to fit in. At the age of fifteen, he attended the Royal Military Academy of
France. One teacher described him as, quiet and solitary. Frightfully egotistical.
Proud, ambitious, aspiring to everything ( To Destiny ). He would go far, his school
report read, in favorable circumstances ( To Destiny ).
However, in 1785 at the age of 16, he finished school and secured the title of
Second Lieutenant. It was during this time that he became a genius at sighting a
gun, deploying soldiers, and handling rammer and shot. Yet, he felt useless. For a
man who sensed he was destined for greatness, Second Lieutenant was not a
satisfactory vocation. He believed the regime would not grant him the high title he
yearned for because he was a no name. For that reason, he worked to be an author
instead. He wrote a quick history of Corsica and attempted writing a

The length of a poem specifically, can convey the overall thoughts of the poet. In
James Montgomery s A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief from the Augustan Age, had
a very long and descriptive structure which exaggerated the story within the poem
as well as the theme it portrayed. He was, Stripped, wounded, beaten nigh to death

emotionally slow and agonizing with all the details he used to allude to Jesus

that were used to explain grief furthermore. When I had shed my glad year s leaf,/ I

to get his idea straight across and show that grief is not only something that is
painful but also becomes a part of who you are as a person. In Charles Bukowski s

that are all separate and aren t part of any stanzas. I listen to the water/ on nights I

An Application Of A Boost Converter ( Dc ) Essay
INTRODUCTION This report presents an application of a Boost Converter (DC
to DC) connected with a photovoltaic (PV) array to charge a battery. A photovoltaic
(PV) array is a power system designed to supply usable solar energy by means of
photovoltaics. It consists of an arrangement of several components, including solar
panels to absorb and convert sunlight into electricity. Solar energy is radiant light
and heat from the sun that is harnessed and used especially in the field of power
generation. One of the major sources of renewable energy at present times, solar
energy has been of interest throughout the world particularly due to its availability in
significant magnitude in comparison to other renewable sources. The reason behind
this topic being chosen is primarily due to the ever growing energy demands and
recent concerns regarding the rate of usage and future availability of fossil fuels and
other conventional sources of energy. Also, as per many environmentalists, the
excessive usage of such energy sources is affecting the environment which might lead
to severe consequences for future generations. To address this issue, many
organizations throughout the world have taken various initiatives to find and hence
provide the public with alternative sources of energy. They therefore, have been
sources of inspiration for many including ourselves to work in this field. Thus,
keeping this in mind, our primary objective in this project has been to use a method
to capture solar
Muslims Should Not Be Banned In The United States
Let them in! No Muslim Ban! Immigrants welcomed! This is what many protesters
screamed as they stood outside the White House. The ban on Muslims took
Americans by surprise, although this was not the first time he had mentioned it.
Before his presidency, Donald Trump mentioned that he would impose a ban on
Muslims. Most people doubted him, but his vision soon became a reality. Many
people believe that this ban violated the Muslims human rights to not be
discriminated against, and the right to a nationality. As stated in The Universal
Declaration of Human Rights , no one should be discriminated and human rights
belong to everyone no matter how different they are. When Donald Trumppassed the
ban against Muslims in the United States, this was a clear sign of discrimination. In

Correlation Between Professional Networking And The
Film...
The purpose of this research paper is to examine whether or not professional
networking plays a role in the success of a film composer and if so, how significant
that role is. This study will provide an overview of the correlation between
professional networking and the film music industry. The first part of this paper will
give a general overview of the filmmusic industry and the type of experiences one
would have in the profession. The study will then look into more specific instances
of professional networking in the film music industry by analysing case studies of
significant composers and how their careers have been affected by professional
networking.
While there is not really a shortage of film and television being created, breaking
into the film music industry can be quite difficult. Being a film composer requires
a very broad spectrum of skills. You need to be skilled at composing and producing
music, that much is a given. But to really succeed you need to have interpersonal
and business skills. These skills are crucial to creating and maintaining professional
networks which are the key to getting work in this industry. In the end it really
comes down to being in the right place at the right time and knowing the right
people. It is important to be able to work with other people since there will be other
people working on the same project as you. You must be well skilled in
communicating with directors to help create what they want because sometimes a

Giver Of Mercy Theme
A prominent theme in the first surah of the Qur an is the theme of mercy, which is
mentioned four times. He is introduced both as the Lord of Mercy and the Giver of
Mercy . These two titles assign two similar, yet still different, traits to God. First,
that as the Lord of Mercy, he is the sole one who has the power of mercy. Second,
as the Giver of mercy, he is attributed with a sense of benevolence of his power. The
contrast between the dual themes of Gods power as a Lord and his benevolence as a
giver then puts further emphasis on the overall theme of Mercy. These themes can
then be seen throughout the second surah through the tellings of the stories
originating from the Old and New Testament and through the clarification of... Show

In regards to a person altering a dead man s will in order to gain more, there is a
punishment of guilt as God is all hearing and all knowing . This same omniscience
then allows God to take into account cases where one would be right in altering the
will, such as in the case of a mistake of the bequestor. This surah also clarifies the
laws on fasting during Ramadan and gives exception to those on pilgrimage or
those who are ill, while also providing them the alternative of food giving as God
wants ease for [people], not hardship and he wants people to glorify Him for having
guided [them] . Here, God prioritizes the meaning behind an action, over the action

The Cold Heavy Oil Production With Sand
A methodology has been developed for making low compressive strength cores that
will be used to experimentally examine the Cold Heavy Oil Production with Sand
(CHOPS) process occurring in unconsolidated oil reservoirs. The main objective is to
experimentally model wormhole (high permeability channel) development during
CHOPS and investigate the effect of various flow parameters such as core
permeability and porosity, compressive strength, oil/water viscosity contrast,
confining pressure and injection rate. Modeling the wormhole development and
propagation will enable us be able to developing approximate Inflow Performance
Relationship (IPR) curves.
Sands blends have been developed by varying the ratios of aggregate, cementing
material and water to prepare synthetic cores of compressive strength, permeability
and porosity ranging from 500 1500 psi, 0.5 1.5 Darcy and 20 30% respectively.
Experimental setup is developed to simulate wormhole propagation during CHOPS
process. In this process water is injected at varying range of 0.1 to 10 ml/min using
a syringe pump into floating piston accumulator to drive the oil ahead of piston to 2
x 4 synthetic core in core holder at a confining pressure of 500 1500 psi. The
differential pressure across the core is monitored throughout the process. LabVIEW
is used for data acquisition, instrument control, measurement analysis and data
presentation.

Reaction Paper On Cellular Respiration
Cellular respiration is the oxidation of organic compounds that occurs within cells,
producing energy for cellular processes (Dictionary.com, 2017) . The process of
cellular respiration occurs in three phases. The first process is called Glycolysis and
is the breakdown of glucose in the cytoplasm. The next process is the pyruvate
molecules transported into the mitochondria (aka powerhouses of the cells), the
pyruvate are then converted into 2 carbon molecules and enter the Krebs cycle.
Finally the energy enters the electron transport chain and the energy is used to
produce ATP (CK 12, 2017). The lungs co operate with cellular respiration as the
lungs produce oxygenwhich is vital in helping the process of turning glucose into ATP.
The process of the respiratory system begins at the nasal cavity and mouth where air
is inhaled. The air then passes through the sinuses located in the skull which
regulate the humidity and temperature as someone breathes (Zimmermann, Live
Science, 2016). The air is filtered in the trachea (windpipe) and then enters the
lungs through a system of pipes called the bronchi. The bronchi are located at the
end of the trachea as the left or right bronchi. The bronchi branch throughout the
lungs eventually forming thin walled air sacs or bubbles, known as the alveoli (
Respiratory System, 2017). In the alveoli gas exchange takes place between the air
and blood. Covering each alveolus is a network of blood vessel called capillaries,
which are small
Mob s Target Nicely Conveys The Premise Of This Crime...
The title MOB S TARGET nicely conveys the premise of this crime thriller. The plot
focuses on an insecure and fearful accountant who testifies against a major mobster,
sending him to prison. The mob wants revenge and she s the target. She enters a
Witness Protection program, but an enforcer tracks her down.
The goal of survival is clear and the stakes are life and death. There are several
themes incorporated into the script about trust, revenge, justice, survival, and second
chances.
The script also poses some intriguing moral questions, especially for the police chief
Joe. He has to struggle with the moral argument of family vs. justice. He clearly has a
moral dilemma.
With that said, this is a plotline that has been done before, but ... Show more content

The plot also offers another coincidence with the idea that Megan s father was
murdered and that Brown investigated it. Again, too many coincidences cause one to
question the credibility of the plot.
In this case, it s not clear how Megan s dad being murdered is relevant, or how it
connects to the plotline. The backstory is left dangling for the audience. It s a serious
backstory to have a parent murdered; yet there s no payoff for the reveal.
Normally, a backstory has some emotional affect on the current storyline. For
example, if Megan were home when her dad was killed and she was unable to
protect and save him, then this could be a relevant inner conflict for her. She could
carry the guilt about her father and now she has to learn to protect herself. Or in
another example, if Megan were home when her dad was murdered, maybe she saw
the killer and now years later he reappears. Regardless, the idea of the connection to
Brown isn t clear and it s suggested to eliminate this connection unless there s a solid
link to the present day storyline and the past.
The opening sets the tone for a mobster story. It establishes that Nick is deadly.
However, the scene isn t as tense or suspenseful as it could be. One reason for this is
that the audience isn t emotionally invested in the owner of the bookshop and the
dialogue and action doesn t create compelling enough tension.
The other concern about the tone is that, in

The Influence Of Television In The 1950 s
World War II ended on September 2, 1945, and citizens in America were dwelling
in the postwar booming economy. Thus, people had a hole burning in their pocket
and many entrepreneurs found a means in which they could supply their products to
consumers. Therefore, television became a method of communication, rather than
the radio, the television allowed individuals to watch events in the comfort in their
living room. In the 1950 s a television could be found in almost every American s
home becoming known as the dawn of the television age. A famous sitcom in the
1950 s which first aired on October 5, 1951 is I Love Lucy. This particular show is
the building blocks of the beginning of television, exposing viewers of the society in
the 1950 s, along with the minimal similarities and mass differences when compared
to today s shows.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I Love Lucy stared Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, who plays Mr. and Mrs. Ricardo and

planning to blow up the capital and plotting her murder, but Lucy was unaware they

and they all end up in jail until the policeman reveals the neighbors are just actors.
This one show conveys a commutative and family environment, with conservative

The Vietnam War Of Vietnam
Blood, gore, intense combat, little sleep, death. These are some words that describe
the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War had 240 days of combat in one year. World War
II had forty days of combat in four years(Interesting Facts). That statistic shows how
rough the Vietnam War was. The fighting was constant between the two sides. This
war was fought over politics and had many gruesome battles.
Before the Vietnam war, Vietnam was in a revolution because they did not want to
be ruled by France. Vietnam wanted to be independent right after World War II ended
in 1945. Japan had control of them, when Japan surrendered to the Allies the French
never left Vietnam and claimed it as a territory(Mintz).
Vietnam got their independence in 1954. Vietnam divided the nation until they could
hold an election to have a united Vietnam. A problem then arose, the north wanted a
communist government and the south wanted a democratic government. China s
communist government influenced the north. South Vietnam was influenced by the
United States to the East. The elections were canceled and North Vietnam attacks the
south. The United States was funding and training south Vietnam until 1957. In 1957,
an American ship was attacked. That was the point when the United States sent in
soldiers and started bombing runs on the North(Cole).
The Vietnam War had many huge battles with very high body counts. Some battles
were very brutal. The first major battle of the war was the Battle of Ap Bac (January
2,1962).
Stewardship Theories Of Presidential Power
This chapter s first section starts off by talking about how the presidency is
structured. It covers everything from how the Framers first deciding on a single
executive, to when term limits were set in place, how the Electoral College works,
what has been done about presidential succession and disability, and lastly the process
of impeachment. Moving on the next section covers the different theories of
presidential power; this includes the stewardship theory and the constitutional theory.
The difference between these two theories is the stewardship theory revolves around
the idea that executivepower can be used for any actions or initiatives as long as they
are not specifically prohibited by the Constitution, constitution theory on the other...

The next section covers how the president is able to appoint officials, federal judges,
and ambassadors thanks to Article II, Section 2. It also explains under what
circumstances the president can and cannot remove appointed officials without the
consent of the Senate. Moving on the subject of the presidential pardon is explained
in detail. The interesting thing with the presidential pardon is that while it does
restore the person s innocent status, the acceptance of it is tantamount to an
admission of guilt in the first place. Besides this the president is also able to grant
amnesties, which grant a person an essential blanket pardon, and are typically used in
the military cases. The following section goes over the concept of executive
privilege, and one of the most controversial times of its attempted use. Unfortunately,
though many times in the past executive privilege has been used for the good of the
country, there have been times where this privilege was abused as well. After this,
presidential immunity is the next focused point to be reviewed in this

The Principle Of Justice For A Democratic Society
John Rawls A Theory of Justice discusses the varying components needed to
choose a fair principle of justice for a democratic society. In the third chapter,
Rawls explains the few principles of distributive justice that exist and the one he is
in favour of. The principle that he promotes is called the difference principle,
which he believes would be chosen by the people within the original position.
While Rawls gives some good reasons, I find the egalitarian principle would be
chosen by the parties. In this paper, I will first define the original position and the
conditions in which the members are under. Next, I will briefly define the difference
principle and the other two principles of distributive justice. Finally, I will conclude
that the egalitarian principle would be the most likely choice of the individuals in the
original position.
Chapter 1 of A Theory of Justiceclaims that the original position is ... the most
philosophically favored interpretation of this initial choice situation for the purposes
of a theory of justice. To be present in the original position, one must be under a veil
of ignorance. Under the veil, a person does not know their own talents, economic
status, intelligence, gender, sex, the conception of the good nor the current state of
their society. The members only know the basic facts on such topics. The original
position is one of the steps within the reflective equilibrium, a cycle of brainstorming
what is necessary in a just society and
Legal Issues And The Electronic Health Record
Legal Issues and the Electronic Health Record
Jessica Frame
Ogeechee Technical College: HIMT 1150
Abstract
With the current implementation of the electronic medical record (EHR), there are
legitimate issues and concerns that need addressing before one can fully understand
the EHR. While implementing an HER offers things such as improved quality of
care and increased patient safety, there are also legality issues one faces and may not
realize when utilizing an EHR documentation standards change, as well as medical
liability. The sooner a facility or physician s practice come to acknowledge and
address the patient care issues involved in the EHR, the easier and smoother a
transition becomes from the old school paper chart to the new and improved
electronic health record.

Legal Issues and the Electronic Health Record
The electronic health record or EHR is an exciting technological advance in the
medical community, helping to streamline healthcare for patients multiple areas.
While there are many obvious and great reasons as to why one should implement
and EHR, there are also many legality issues associated with upgrading from a
paper record. Knowing the risks associated with implementing an EHR and how to
avoid mistakes common issues associated with one (EHR) in a medical setting is
detrimental to the adaptation of electronic health records and the positive or negative
feedback received from making such a big change in a healthcare
Compare 1984 And 1984
You may write me down in history with your bitter, twisted lies, you may trod me
in the very dirt, but still, like dust, I ll rise. Both Orwell s 1984 and Huxley s Brave
New World embody how history can be altered to fit an illusionist dystopian
society. Within their fractured worlds both writers have created non conformist
characters; arguably to emphasise and bring contrast to the distorted worlds of Big
Brother and Huxley s vision of innovative London. Orwell decided to present
Winston as a refreshing controversy to the frantic world of which the reader is
exposed to. Winston embodies a lack of hatred against Goldstein Orwell introduces

Orwell, adopts a subtler acknowledgment of Shakespeare. Winston woke up with
the word Shakespeare on his lips. Whereas, Huxley uses a more romanticist
approach did he dare? Dare to profane with his unworthiest hand that... No, he didn
t. Interestingly, both authors use Shakespeare to describe their male characters
attitudes sexually, towards women. Orwell s Winston doesn t initially have any
erotic urges within his dream of a naked woman. But is unable to vocalise the way
he perceived his dream. So reverts to using the word Shakespeare. Whereas, Huxley
s John who has read the full works of Shakespeare and is considered absurd, when he
uses them to verbalise the emotions that language prevents him from doing. However,
the authors contrast in their characters use of the additional language Shakespeare
can provide for the authors protagonists. As Lena Gräf suggests, Everything that is

Martha Graham Influence On Dance
Martha Graham (May 11, 1894 April 1, 1991) was an American modern dancer and
choreographer who has had a huge influence on dance and the influence has been
compared to Picasso s on art. She is also recognized as one of the greatest artists of
the 20th century and has inspired many generations of famous choreographers and
dancers including Merce Cunningham, Paul Taylor, and Twyla Tharp,
In the mid 1910s, she began her studies at the Denishawn School of Dancing and
Related Arts, and she continued dancing there until 1923. Afterwards, in 1926, her
own dance centre was established called the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary
Dance and later on in that year she progressed to debut her first independent show,
consisting of eighteen short solos and trios that she had choreographed.

She has a major interest in the expressive capacity of our bodies and called them
expressive instruments . She said that the contraction idea was developed from
looking at the physical effects of grief and great sadness (especially from childbirth)
from the body and it makes her dances very expressive. Since her creation of the
move it has become a key aspect of modern dance and it has been used and
developed by many subsequent choreographers. Graham s contraction starts from
the pelvis and is the lengthening of the space between each vertebra all the way
from here to through to the neck and head. Each contraction is paired with the
exhaling of breath. The release is the opposite of contraction and so occurs on the
inhaling of a breath and begins from the pelvis and travels up the spine to return the
upper body to a straight position. There is also something called a high release
which is the opening further of the upper body so that it is facing the sky (without
breaking the lower back) with the head in

In essence, this technology came about when the culmination of Internet Service
Providers (ISP) developed the ability to host web services and create a virtualized
infrastructure (MSV, 2012, p. 5). A virtualized infrastructure better known as
virtualization is where multiple servers are consolidated (MSV, 2012, p. 5). For
instance, an organization can have individual servers for each of the following
roles like Web Servers, Database Servers and Messaging Servers (MSV, 2012, p.
4). Instead of having a plethora of servers to handle these many different roles each
server is virtualized to take on multiple roles here by the data center infrastructure
can be consolidated from hundreds of servers to just tens of servers (MSV, 2012,

organizations to lower a data centers total cost of ownership; therefore, saving
companies significant amounts of money on power bills, cooling equipment, and
hardware in general (MSV, 2012, p. 5). Although today s cloud technology is widely
developing into a product called Software as a Service (SaaS) (Srinivasan, 2013,

are considered SaaS (Srinivasan, 2013, p.49). These examples offer a certain
amount of free storage space for users who employ their services and have an
account which is usually free as well. The primary concern

Usually, when a book is adapted into a movie; the movie always seems to omit
scenes and details mentioned in the book. This is the same with Walter Mosley s
Always Outnumbered, Always Outgunned; a novel that tells a story surrounding a
man named Socrates Fortlow. However, while the movie version of Always
Outnumbered, Always Outgunned follows the same concept as the book there are
substantial differences in terms of events, details, and chronological order. The first
major difference between the movie and the book is how quickly the movie reveals
some of the flaws of the main character Socrates Fortlow. In fact the movie starts with

Darryl and his friends leave and never tell anyone what happened. Later on in the

twist. In the movie, the retarded boy, whose name is Felix, killed by a young boy

events are not the same, a majority of the differences are tiny details. For example,
in the book Socrates has a photo of Theresa, his ex girlfriend, hanging in his
kitchen by the window. In the picture, Theresa is wearing a red dress but in the
movie she is in a white dress. The book also tells the reader that Socrates spent
twenty seven years in prison and was released eight years ago; in the movie; he only
served eighteen years and had only been out for ten months. These are just some of
the differences between the book and the movie.
Equity Finance And Debt Finance
Stockholders are those entities who provide a company with the risk capital such as
preference share owners and ordinary share owners (Freeman and Reed, 1983).
Generally, stockholderis one of long term finance providers with the aim to maximize
their wealth.According toBrickleyet al. (1985), long term financeproviders are more
likely to focus on the matter whether the financial structure in the company is sound
or not and the durability of profitabilityrather than temporary profits that a potentially
risky financial structure may bring. In addition, different company will encounter
different problems when changing their capital structure. This part therefor mainly
focus on equity finance and debt finance in small and medium sized enterprises
(SMEs) and listed company.
From the perspective of stockholders, debt finance may be more attractive
compared with other financial approaches. The reasons are as follows. Firstly, it
may ensurestockholders ownership unchanged (Mooij, 2012). If the board of the
company intend to adopt the approach of equity finance such as issuing new rights,
there is a possibility that the former stockholders may not be able to purchase all
new issuing rights and then lead to dilution of control which they do not expect.
Secondly, debt finance is a relatively cost effective method as there is tax advantage
of debt.If a firm only has equity finance, an extra tax then needed to pay because
dividends which come from profits are income for investors which

Effectiveness Of After School Programs
Due to after school programs receiving public funding, questions arose as to if after
school programs were effective. Effectiveness of after school programs, and
funding is now measured by academic improvement of students who attend after
school programs. Data on the effectiveness of after school programs have
conflicting outcomes. Some studies found a significant increase in student s
academics who attended after school programs (Durlak, Weissberg Pachan 2010;
Durlak , Weissber, 2007). Others studies showed no significant gains in academic
outcomes for students who attended after school programs (U.S. Department of
Education, 2004; Dynarski, 2015). The methodology of studies on the
effectiveness of after school programs has come into question. There are several
types of after school programs, and the attendance of students varies. Some
students attend five days a week, others once a month. Few of these studies factor
varying attendance and programs into the studies. Lack of methodologically sound
studies and dismal effect sizes have led to the publication of articles such as The
1.2 billion afterschool program that doesn t work. Articles such as this advocate that
after school programs have little effects on academics, and that the money for these
programs would be better allocated to other programs (Dynarski, 2015) After school
programs were initially created to give disadvantage youth a place to go after school
(Halpern, 2002). The primary objective of these
Essay On Active Directory
First, what is Active Directory? Active Directory (AD) is a database management
system created by Microsoft. It is also known as Microsoft s network operating
system (NOS). A network operating system can be simplified as a networked
environment for various types of resources stored in a central system that is
managed by administrators and also accessible for end users. Active Directory takes
different information about network components and stores it. This allows active
directory s clients to find objects within its namespace. Namespace or Console trees,
refers to an area where a network component can be located. For example, within the
table of contents of a book creates a namespace where chapters can be settled into
page numbers. For... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The primary use for the original LDAP was a gateway between X.500 servers.
Clients would interface with the LDAP and that would translate the requests and
submit them to the server (Northrup, 1999). The group at University of Michigan
wanted to remove the gateway to develop a directory server enabled by LDAP. To
do this the LDAP would provide most of the functionality needed to as many
clients as it can. Overall, this removed all the unnecessary features that were
implemented and kept the concepts of the X.500. In 1995 the first LDAP
directory server was released. The last major update to the LDAP was in 1997.
This version, LDAPv3, provided many features and made LDAP stronger and
expandable enough so that many vendors and clients can implement it easier
(Northrup, 1999). Since this version, many different companies have taken the
ideas and developed their own type of Directory Servers. For example, the
Windows 2000 server. Windows 2000 is an operating system released to retail in
February 2000. Active Directory was introduced to replace the Windows NT s
domain model they had previously. With Active Directory in place, it gave
administrators a different way to manage policies and accounts. Administrators can
also place programs and updates with a notably greater scalability compared to
previous Windows versions. The services could be installed on the actual Windows
2000 server, the Advanced Server, and/or the Datacenter Server. The Active Directory
Bilbo Baggins Alternate Ending
One morning, Bilbo Baggins was standing outside of his hobbit hole, as peaceful
and quiet as ever, when he was approached by a familiar figure. At first, he hadn t
remembered who exactly he was, only knowing that the figure had gone around
The Hill and The Water, searching for hobbits interested in an adventure. Being
mostly a Baggins, he refused to listen to anything about an adventure. He soon
realized, that this was no ordinary figure he may have spotted once or twice in his
life, it was the mighty Gandalf. The most important wizard there has ever lived. Still,
even though he was being asked by Gandalf to join him on an adventure, Bilbo, as I
mentioned before, was a Baggins and he declined joining anyone on an adventure.
Instead, he invited... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bilbo being Bilbo, he forgot all about the wizard Gandalf coming over for tea. So,
he quickly scurried to set up the table and get the food ready. When he turned the
knob at the door he was surprised to find not Gandalf standing at the door, but two
dwarfs going by the name of Balin and Dwalin. Though Bilbo had no idea who
they were, staying with his manners, he politely welcomed them into his home. A
few minutes later, another ring came across, then another, then another. Within
moments, the room and kitchen had piled up with dwarfs, nine, to be exact. Then,
he heard a loud bang against the door. He had become furious with unexpected
guests roaming around his home, so he swiftly opened the door finding Gandalf
outside his hobbit hole, as well as 4 other dwarfs whose names included Bombur,
Bifur, Bofur, and the most powerful of all, Thorin. The rest of the night was all in
all complicated, and odd. As the dwarfs sang and sang, ate and ate, and chattered.
The most odd and complicated part of the day, however, was when Thorin and
Gandalf made a terrifying and shocking announcement. All of the dwarfs had
gathered at Bilbo s house to meet their journey s burglar, Bilbo. That s not all. The
journey itself could lead all of the hobbits and dwarfs to victory, or could sacrifice
their lives. The object of the adventure, was to hike up to The Lonely Mountain,
and recover the jewels and gold which were currently in Smaug the Magnificent s
posession. As Thorin had explained, his grandfather, Thror, and his ancestors had
discovered The Lonely Mountain and mined jewels and other precious stones from
within the mountains walls. A dragon, Smaug the Magnificent, had swept away all
of their jewels and gold, as well as swept away the population of the city Dale. It
had been hundreds of years since that had happened, but Thorin was now determined
to retrieve back what was his in the first place. Gandalf also presented
Chiquita Banana Case Study
From the case, we saw that the executives of Chiquita Banana in Columbia chose to
pay the AUC for protection from the FARC. The US government put AUC on its list
of terrorist organization on September 2001. Chiquita brand international is a pioneer
in the globalization of the banana industry, where bananas are not only a serious
business, but it is a representation of economic, social, political, and legal difficulties.
From the perspective of Chiquita s Columbian subsidiary, Banadex S.A., they first
began funding AUC in 1997 after receiving threats directed at its property and its
employees. Chiquita was sending moneyto the AUC roughly every month in order
to save their employees and property. Being in charge of the business, it was the
responsibility of the company to put their employees safety first, and thus I feel
they were in the right when they started making the payments at first. This was not
a safe time because during the period of mid 1960s, Columbian civil war and
armed conflict were very prevalent in those areas. There was the emergence of
powerful drug cartels, which also increased the intensity of the conflict. Moreover,
there was the presence of FARC, which is a revolutionary guerrilla organization and
were involved in illicit and violent activities like extortions, bombings, kidnapping, as
well as attacks on political and military goals. AUC promised Chiquita Bananathe
protection from the political and war world around them. It made sense at that time
Dollar Shave Club Compare And Contrast
The two companies Burma Shave and Dollar Shave club are so similar yet their
marketing and promotions are two totally different and that is to be expected. For
Both companies are targeting the same audience males who have facial hair although
Dollar Shave Club seems to be targeting the more urban working male and maybe the
family guy with the integration of a baby in the commercial. Dollar Shave Club also
is targeting YUPPIES. While Burma Shave was targeting the man who just returned
home from war or the man who is constantly travelling on the road whether it is
working for a construction company or just driving the trucks.
Burma Shave was created in the early 1920 s with one goal in mind... get men to
shave. With that goal they used cute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my personal opinion both companies did a great job at reaching their target
audience. They brought their marketing to places that they knew their consumers
would be. I.e. Burma Shave used road signs because during that time period men
were more than likely to be found travelling the road and working instead of at
home. Or they would be returning home from work. While Dollar Shave Club used
social media and online ad because their target audience would be found suffering the
Internet in search of products that they can use or watching YouTube videos. Both did
an outstanding job.
If I had to choose between which campaign was the most ground breaking I would
have to say Burma Shave. The reason I chose Burma Shave is because they thought
out of the box by using road signs to get people to purchase their product. When
driving on the road you would always need something to catch your eye to keep
you awake and with the added bonus of the a rhyming poem it get stuck in your head
and when you arrive at the store you end up looking for the item from that poem that
is stuck in your
Analysing Benjamin Percy s Refresh, Refresh Essay
The Idolization of My Father
In Benjamin PercyВЎВ¦s ВЎВ§Refresh, RefreshВЎВЁ the boys develop into men
while trying to become like their fathers. They also want their fathers to be proud of
them. FreudВЎВ¦s psychoanalytical approach would suggest that the boys are trying
to step into the shoes of their fathers. His Oedipus Complex states that the son must
metaphorically kill his father, except the fathers in the story really do die, so the sons
step into their fathersВЎВ¦ shoes by signing up for the war. In this essay I will show
how the boys become men while training themselves to be like their fathers, and
using a psychoanalytical approach I will show how the sons step into their
fathersВЎВ¦ shoes and how the thwarted Oedipus Complex has ... Show more content

Also when they fought they painted their faces with the camo grease that their fathers
had left behind. This shows that they wanted to feel the way their fathers felt at war,
with painted faces for camouflage as they fought almost how their fathers were
fighting the Iraqis.
Another piece of significance is when Josh states that he could just hop on his bike
and ride away from it all. ВЎВ§On this bike I could ride and ride and ride, away
from here, up and over the Cascade, through the Willamette Valley, until I reached
the ocean, where the broad black backs of whales regularly broke the surface of the
water, and ever farther.ВЎВЁ This shows how he could easily just run away from
everything that is happening. HeВЎВ¦s stating that he doesnВЎВ¦t have to become a
man yet and could just have fun and live free. He doesnВЎВ¦t do this though; he just
wants us to know that he can. This shows that he is ready to become a man just like
his father.
ВЎВ§He drank too much beer and smoked too many cigarettes and spent too much
time with his buddies, fishing, hunting, bullshitting.ВЎВЁ Over the course of the
story the boys imitate these actions of their fathers. After every boxing match they
would smoke cigarettes. In November they went hunting, and smoked cigarettes,
drank beers and bullshitted just like their fathers did. Gordon even acted like a
soldier in the woods and wore his fatherВЎВ¦s overlarge
Analysis of William Butler Yeats Poems Essay
Analysis of William Butler Yeats Poems; When You Are Old, The Lake Isle of
Innisfree, The Wild Swans at Coole, The Second Coming and Sailing to Byzantium
In many poems, short stories, plays, television shows and novels an author usually
deals with a main idea in each of their works. A main reason they do this is due to
the fact that they either have a strong belief in that very idea or it somehow
correlates to an important piece of their life overall. For example the author Thomas
Hardy likes to deal with the idea of loss in many different ways within his poems
some being positive and some being negative. William Butler Yeatshas a main
philosophical idea which he sticks to and portrays in his poems he believes once you

He goes on to say in line 8, And loved the sorrows of your changing face; The then
again deals with the idea of change in this instance actually saying the word change
and how your face will change as age comes upon your body. There are many more
times within this poem that Yeats mentions change rather than changelessness.
Secondly, The Lake Isle of Innisfree expresses rather than a rushed life a life of
peace and changelessness. Yates basically states in this poem that he is sick of
being in such a fast paced city. He doesn t reveal this until the end of the poem
when he says on page 1141 lines 11 and 12, When I stand on the roadway, or on the
pavements gray, I hear it in the deep heart s core. Yates isn t exactly at the place of
peace in which he calls Innisfree yet that s where he d rather be. On page 1141
Yates says line 1, I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree. Later stating in line 5,
And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, Here in
Innisfree there would be peace and changelessness which Yates would prefer rather
than being in a constantly changing city setting. Next, in another poem by Yates
titled The Wild Swans at Coole, Yates uses a different approach and expressed
changelessness within change. In this poem Yates talks a lot about swans it seems as
though the poet is absolutely fascinated with every aspect of the swan s life. Yates
describes change within this poem on
The And Considerations Behind The Creation Of Our
Group...
This essay will discuss the reasons, choices and considerations behind the creation of
our group newsletter, Manaakitanga. It will involve relevant theories to support my
following reflective essay, including research on document design and group
dynamics.
The rationale of our Manaakitanga newsletter is for all members across the twenty
one branches of Hospitality New Zealand, informing them about new topics, and
sharing the most recent and latest news within Hospitality NZ (New Zealand) for the
employees to read. Manaakitanga is an internal newsletter for employees, sharing the
changes, achievements, the news and events that have a broader appeal, keeping the
interest alive for the readers (Kent, 2011).
First of all the content of Manaakitanga involves an interview, Early morning starts
on a winning streak , secondly an article on What is coming up in the summer
months , thirdly a spotlight story on one of Christchurch s most popular restaurants,
and last of all a story on New Zealand s drinking culture and a calendar of events
highlighting important up coming courses and events for employees to attend to.
The interview featured on page four of Manaakitanga is significant to Hospitality NZ
because as we know the Rugby World Cup is occurring at the moment and The Sale
and Supply of Alcohol Amendment Act 2015 are allowing on license and club
license holders to open outside of their normal opening hours to screen live Rugby
World Cup games. Many of the rugby games are
In Hans Christian Anderson’s 1830s fairy tale
Thumbelina,...
In Hans Christian Anderson s 1830s fairy tale Thumbelina, the narrator brings
Thumbelina or Tiny for short, on a series of misfortunate events. An ugly toad stole
Thumbelina and tried to marry her to her even more unsightly son. After she
escaped the toad, a cockchafer forced her to be his date to a party, almost perished
in the lonely winter months, and again is nearly forced to marry an unappealing
mole. Although after a rainstorm of bad events, a rainbow appears. After Tiny s
tragic events, Tiny is finally wed to a handsome, fairy prince. Tiny s character traits
and build carried the story. Although a few characters drove the tale of Thumbelinaby
Hans Christian Anderson, Thumbelina s small delicate stature influenced the story the

Tiny told sung and told stories her. Unfortunately the mouse s neighbor, a blind mole,
liked singing and stories too. After hearing her sing, the mole fell madly in love with
the little girl and wanted to marry her. The narrator said, She was herself so frail
and delicate, that poor little Tiny was nearly frozen to death. This quote all in itself
says Tiny was so small, that the winter almost killed her. If Tiny were larger, she
would have had an easier time regulating her body temperature and the snow falling
would not have affected her as much. Therefore, Tiny would not have been almost
dead, and the mouse and the mole would have never met her.
The final event that was caused by Tiny s small stature was marrying the fairy prince.
Although incompatible for their love of sunshine, the mole wanted to marry
Thumbelina, regardless of what she wanted. With the wedding day approaching
quickly, Tiny knew she could not marry the mole, no matter how wealthy he was.
He liked dark, emptiness. Thumbelina loved light, warm sunlight. She befriended
an injured swallow and he took Tiny away before the wedding. Shortly after having
reached a place where the sun always shines, she saw a man, rather a tiny king. The
only difference was that he had wings. Instantly, Tiny was taken by how handsome
he was and vice versa. The fairy prince married Tiny. If Tiny were not as small as she
was, the swallow wouldn t have been able to lift her
The Pan African Significance Of The Obama Administration
The Pan African significance of the Obama administration, Obama the offspring of a
Kenyan engulfed in a bi racial reality (thus rendering him sensitive to
multiculturalism) who fulfills the dream of an oppressed people, has been the
perceived unification of both the African continent and the diaspora. However, the
term Pan Africanismcomes to stir strong feedback because there is no consensual
agreement on what it is. W.E.B. DuBois, in the 1930s, defined Pan Africanism as a
movement aimed at an intellectual understanding and cooperation among all groups
of African descent in order to bring about the industrial and spiritual emancipation of
the Negro people. Other definitions have come in the form of self government by
African countries south of the Sahara, the economic, social, and cultural development
of the continent, the avoidance of conflict among African states, the promotion of
African unity and influence in world affairs, and a personal favorite, a struggle in
which Africans and others of African blood have been engaged since their contact
with modern Europe. Although none of these definitions are entirely accurate they,
together, frame my understanding of Pan Africanism as a political movement and
philosophical tradition founded on African pride, a consciousness of the past, and a
desired unification of continental Africans and all who identify with the diaspora;
seeing Africa(and its descendents) as one body even in the presence of differing

Susan B. Anthony As A Teacher Or Writer
Susan B. Anthony once said, I declare to you that woman must not depend upon the
protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand.
Leader, dreamer, and believer are three words that could easily be connected with
Anthony. She consistently pursued and believed that her dream of equality would
someday come true, and led others away from a conflicting and unjust society. Most
people know Susan B. Anthonyas a teacher or writer, but she has done so much more
than that. Considering her many contributions to women s rights, readers can
conclude that Susan B. Anthony devoted her life to numerous associations as well as
other movements. She depicted an impact and change in her legacy as an American
civil rights hero.
Born in Adams, Massachusetts, Susan Brownell Anthony became the second of
eight children on February 15, 1820 (history.com). Growing up, Susan B. Anthony
learned that women were discouraged from voicing their views (Lifer 299).
Anthony developed a sense of independence as well as moral zeal starting at an
early age, which helped her realize the need for equal rights granted to women
(Encyclopedia Americana 39). In her earlier life, reformers would gather in the
family home near Rochester, New York, and this influenced her views on social
betterment in America (Encyclopedia Americana 39). Anthony had excellent
education at a time when most men were against women learning, and she began a
career as a teacher (Cooper 12). As a teacher
The Choices Of Antigone And Sophocles Antigone
Kate Regan Loomis
Professor Baumann
The Quest for Justice
September 12, 2017
Self, Family, City Though the choices that Antigone and Creon face in Sophocles
Antigone differ, their decisions often end up pitted against each other s, inviting
comparison. Since I am juxtaposing the characters degrees of rightness, I believe that
the rightness of the reasoning, not just their ultimate stances, should be examined.
The entirety of his or her argument, not just the conclusion, must be taken into
account. I ll also note that my perspective of rightness could and does conflict with
that of the gods in Antigone and Sophocles. Furthermore, rightness has an element of
nuance to it because of the word s multiple definitions and their connotations. ... Show

This combined with her fixation on the curse makes it seem blatantly obvious to me
that she is using her brother s death and disrespectful treatment as an in with the gods.
Antigone wants to be redeemed in the afterlife through her act of burying
Polyneices. This is especially clear when she decides that she will bury him and die
before she has even appealed to Creon. The only route she can see is one that results
in her death. Not until she is directly confronted by her uncle does she attempt to
dissuade him from dishonoring Polyneices. Even then, she seems to be simply
defending her own actions rather than accusing him of being wrong, as she so
adamantly has done with Ismene. He needs to implore her to Speak! (166, 442),
and when she does, she is flippant and prideful. Antigone only engages in real
dialogue with him when he forces her to. This could be interpreted as her simply
understanding his position and accepting it, but I find that unlikely. She clearly
fundamentally disagrees with him and his interpretation of the gods, but instead of
trying to persuade him to recant his decree and bury her brother, she capitalizes on
the position she s in and thrusts herself into martyrdom. Even by the gods
standards, this does not seem to be justice or rightness . Her surface level loyalty to
her family may initially appeal, but I find it insincere and not right when I explore it
more closely. Creon absolutely is foolish when he
Monarch Butterflies And Chemical Pollution
Monarch butterflies and chemical pollution The monarch butterflies are decreasing
by 1999 and 2010 there was a decline of the Monarch butterflies by 81% because of a
Midwestern disappearance of milkweed by 58% . Therefore, the butterflies are in
danger, since they don t have food or anywhere to lay their eggs.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The species information about these butterflies are that they re a large orange butterfly
that flies with its wings like a v shape while the wings have dark prominent veins and
two rows with of white spots at the edges with a dark body. Males tend to have
bigger wingspread ranges, the average would about 3.4 to 4 inches, than females and

Then, the caterpillar takes 9 to at least 14 days to go through five instar stages
before pupating. The first instar larva, who just got out of the egg, is solid pale

of white, yellow and black transverse bands, as the tentacles start to grow. The third
instar larva has more distinct bands which is particularly on the abdomen. And the
fourth instar is based by a new banding pattern on the thorax while the white spots
are on the prolegs near the back of the caterpillar. And finally, the last two instar

final stage after the larvae eats mass amounts of milkweed is to search for a location
to form a pupa, and within a few weeks the caterpillar will turn into a butterfly!

Essay On Enviroment. Write a short essay on Save Environment Essay Writing English - YouTube

  • 1. Essay On Enviroment Crafting an essay on the environment can be a challenging task that requires a careful balance of scientific knowledge, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. The complexity of the topic lies in the multifaceted nature of environmental issues, which span a wide range of subjects, including climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development. One of the difficulties in writing such an essay is the need to integrate information from various disciplines, such as biology, ecology, geology, and sociology. This interdisciplinary approach demands a comprehensive understanding of the interconnectedness of environmental issues and their implications for both the natural world and human societies. Gathering relevant and up-to- date information from credible sources is crucial to present a well-informed and evidence-based argument. Furthermore, addressing the global nature of environmental problems adds an additional layer of complexity. It requires a nuanced analysis of international policies, cooperation among nations, and the role of individuals in contributing to positive environmental change. Striking the right balance between presenting alarming facts and inspiring hope for solutions can be a delicate task, as the essay must educate and motivate readers without overwhelming them. In addition to the content, the structure and organization of the essay pose another challenge. Achieving a coherent flow of ideas while covering diverse aspects of the environment requires careful planning and effective transitions between paragraphs. Developing a clear thesis statement that encapsulates the main message of the essay and guides the reader through the argument is crucial. Ultimately, writing an essay on the environment is not just about conveying information but also about inspiring awareness and action. The writer must engage the reader emotionally and intellectually, fostering a sense of responsibility and urgency to address environmental challenges. This requires effective use of language, rhetorical techniques, and a deep commitment to the cause. In conclusion, while writing an essay on the environment may be demanding, it is a vital endeavor that contributes to raising awareness and promoting positive change. By tackling the complexities of this broad and urgent topic, writers can play a crucial role in inspiring others to take action and contribute to the preservation of our planet. • 2. Darfur Genocide Research Paper In 2003 there was a mass slaughter and and rape of the people in Darfur. This happened to so many people like men, women, and children. Many people suffered from the mass torturing. This is known as a genocide. The genocide has been going on for about 13 years and is still going on today. This genocide is the first genocide in the 21st century. The darfur genocide was gruesome. Since the Darfur bloodshed was gruesome and had people attacking, it led the United States and Court to believe it was considered a genocide. Darfur is a horrible time in history for so many people. The Janjaweed and the Sudanese forces attacked hundreds of villages in Darfur. The genocide is what caused so many people to suffer from the United States, court, crimes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Darfur is ranked as the bloodiest century in history (Sanders,Edmund pg.2). The Darfur bloodshed caused so much harm to so many people. The word genocide has so much power. Labeling Darfur as a genocide led government officials to hide and reduce their actions (Sanders, Edmund pg. 2). Some people say that the Darfur bloodshed is an ongoing genocide. Other people question whether it meets the legal definition of genocide. Two consecutive American presidents and several activist groups have defined Darfur as a genocide. I believe that the darfur bloodshed is a genocide. I think that since the darfur bloodshed was a mass slaughter, and rape it should be called a

Nowadays, more and more countries including developed countries and some developing countries have implemented EMR in hospitals or clinics to provide better care to patients. With the implementation of EMR in healthcare field, physicians are able to access patients chart, diagnosis, treatment remotely, and they are able to get alerts about criteria lab values or some potential medical errors. Canada is among the top 10 countries who adopt EMR through the country. However, compared with some European countries, there is still some way to go for Canada. Then I will conclude other issues that may lead to poor implementation of EMR in health organizations and what organizations can improve during the process of procurement. Finally I will mention the trend of EMR procurement nowadays. Canada s current state of adopting EMR Canada has advocated and provided enough fund for the implementation of electronic medical record across the whole country. In 2010, Canada Health Infoway received $500 million CDN; of this amount, $380 million is to be directed to office EMR adoption (Price, 2011).It shows that Canada pays a lot of attention to the adoption of EMR. However, Canada still need make efforts to increase adoption rate of EHR. From this diagram we find that there is no country which can reach 100% EMR implementation. Some of European countries, including Norway, Netherlands, United Kingdom and New Zealand have high EMR adoption rate which is almost 100 percent. And Australia has adoption rate of 92 percent, which is also a high adoption rate. In comparison, Canada s EMR adoption rate is relatively low, with only 56% adoption rate. • 4. Just Absolute In The Republic By Plato I believe that fundamentally, we can all agree that disagreements have become an inevitable aspect of human nature, which has lasted for millennia. From what I ve observed, this stems from our ability to perceive things differently especially in how we define, value and categorize certain aspects of our lives. Although this is not a problem pertaining to simple matters but issues do arrive with more complex ideas and ideologies. In the Republic by Plato, Socrates asks his friends to define more complex matters such as just and courage in their own words. There we see a distinction between what is knowledge and what is our beliefs which occur as two different spheres. Some believe that one sphere should be more highly valued than the other... Thinking about my own childhood and education, the majority of that time was spent with facts being crammed into my head for the sake of passing an exam which is the opposite of the post fact victim. The essential point is that there must be balance between these spheres if enlightenment must be
  • 5. Using Journals Effectively in Classrooms Essay Using Journals Effectively in Classrooms Journal writing seems to be a popular element teachers use to give students the opportunity to become involved in the classroom without always speaking. However, is journal writing a beneficial tool for student learning? How can it become more effective in the classroom? There are many types of journals which can be used in a classroom. I have decided to look at the different types of journals that exist to gain a broad overview of journal usage. This is to help me decide what the most effective journal for this classroom would be. First, let us look at what journal writing is. Journal writing is a method to provide students with an alternate way of expression. It promotes individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Journals are also a way for students to express ideas without feeling pressure to respond in a certain manner in order to receive a good grade. Along with the freedom to express thoughts and concerns, a journal also can provide the freedom in which you express these thoughts and concerns. Journals are considered an artist s notebook. Journal entries are normally done by using words, however there is a move to allow students to use photographs, drawings, paintings, or any creative way the student may choose to express themselves. According to Teaching Writing written by Gail Tompkins, the purpose of journal writing is for students to use journals to 1) record personal experiences, 2) explore reactions and interpretations, and 3) record and analyze information. These criteria or aspects can be applied to any and all disciplines. I think that the most important place to include journal wrtiting is in the English classroom. This is where writing begins to take shape. Since it such a vital aspect of everyday life, students should feel comfortable expressing themselves and should have the means to do so. Journals allow students the opportunity to visual express themselves and to see their ideas on paper giving

  • 7. Fidel Castro, Cro, And Macro And The Cuban Revolution Che wrote in his farewell letter to Castro in 1964 that his most sacred duty in life was, to fight against imperialism wherever it may be. Che was successful in eradicating the presence of U.S. imperialism in Cuba. Che s relationship with Fidel Castro began back when Fidel was exiled to Mexico by General Batista the dictator of Cuba. Che when asked what his primary goals were responded, From the political point of view, the first thing we want is to be masters of our own destiny, a country free from foreign interference, a country that seeks out its own system of development . Che and Castro were united in the belief of freeing the world from oppression and imperialism, especially U.S. imperialism. In retrospect, the Cuban Revolution was more than a revolution of ideas, but a revolution of transforming the entire Cuban economy and society. Through Che s idea of transforming the mind of each Cuban citizen into the New Man and the Agrarian Land Reform in the early stages of the revolution many were optimistic. Castro s regime believed in giving power back to the peasants and in liberating the country from U.S. dominance. Many of these ideals seemed promising, but Castro and Che neglected the fact that the Cuban economy depended so much on sugar as a staple product, and the U.S. market. Castro, and Che lack what this paper will try to provide hindsight. Through the analysis of secondary sources Che s image, ideas, successes, and failures will be analyzed to prove why the Cuban Revolution was successful due to Che s influence. Che s Marxist beliefs transformed from his early days to being an active participant in the Cuban revolution. The revolution itself allowed Che to truly understand the concept of Marxism not through studying, but through individual action and putting the ideas of Marx into action. Che after the Cuban Revolution put his belief into words stating, Where one really learns is in a revolutionary war; every mistake teaches you more than a million volumes of books . Truth through action was the only way one could be a true Marxist. Because Che s foco theory exhibited success in Cuba its doctrine was exported to numerous countries, and many were able to overthrow their imperialist and

On June 13, 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were found murdered outside Brown s Bundy Drive condo in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles. After that he came back to attend high school in San Francisco and that s where his football career began. Without a doubt something everybody knew about Simpson was that he could play football with the best of them. He was an All American athlete among several other things. He was named NFL Player of the Year in 1973 and played in six pro bowls. He later was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985. (Brennan). In the year of 1967 Simpson married his first wife Marguerite L. Whitley, he was nineteen at the time. Together they had Arnelle L. Simpson, Jason L. Simpson, and Aaren Lashone Simpson. In August 1979, five months after the couple divorced, Aaren drowned in the family s swimming pool a month before her second birthday. (St. Petersburg Times). The beginning of the very famous and mysterious love story now begins to happen in the year 1977. O.J. met Nicole Brown waiting tables at a little nightclub called The Daisy . In this book, Rita speaks about her father s childhood as well as her own; the difficulties she faced growing up with a strict father whom she felt she barely knew. I grew up without my father and met him when I was 20 years old. Meeting him was very challenging for me because I was consumed with so much anger and I blamed him for not being there for me. In reading this book I am able to realize that we do not always get to choose the path we walk down and sometimes life s circumstances shape the people we become, for better or worse. This book has made me want to give my own father a chance to explain to me what his life has been like, so that I might have a better understanding of who he is. As I continue my journey through school, I am better able to assess individuals and situations and have a level of empathy without being judgmental. As children we often feel like we know who our parents are but there are so many unanswered questions and hidden lives that it makes it difficult for children to relate to their parents. Each of our paths has impacted us in both negative or positive ways and being able to understand that this affects the decisions that we make can make unpleasant situations a bit easier to digest. Seeing how Rita felt closer to her father as an adult once she got to know him, makes me feel like there is still hope for my father and I. If Rita s father would have received help for the trauma he had gone through I believe he could have been a better father to Rita while she was growing up. Or has a doctor given a Hashimoto s disease diagnosis to someone close to you, perhaps in your family? You must be wondering how this could happen. What will you need to do now? How will this affect your day to day life? What happens next? What does the future likely hold for you or your loved one? You may not have known this before you got news of your condition, but Hashimoto s disease is the most common cause of hypothyroidism in the developed world, and it affects literally millions of patients. You are definitely not alone with this condition! Hypothyroidism is a medical term, and what it means is simply low thyroid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Simply put, Hashimoto s disease is an autoimmune disease in which the body attacks the thyroid. What does that mean? Read on for further information. What Is the Thyroid, and What Does It Do in the Body? The thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland. You would find it located in the lower neck, right below the Adam s apple. The location is the same in both men and women. What the thyroid does is create and store thyroid hormone. It then releases the hormone in appropriate amounts to keep the body s metabolism functioning at a normal level. If there is too much thyroid hormone, this is known as hyperthyroidism. In hyperthyroidism, the body s metabolism increases. This condition can cause high blood pressure, high heart rate, nervousness, palpitations, and severe weight loss. Too little thyroid hormone, on the other hand, can cause tiredness, depression, memory loss, dry skin, brittle hair, and weight gain among many other symptoms. Incidentally, there are actually two compounds made in the thyroid that are called thyroid hormone. The most abundant is T4, also known as thyroxine, which is then converted to T3, or triiodothyronine. T3 is the active form that produces the effects on metabolism. So How Does Hashimoto s Disease Affect the Thyroid? Hashimoto s thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease in which the body s normal defense mechanisms attack the thyroid gland. This causes inflammation in the thyroid, which at first causes uncontrolled

Even though all odds were against them, the Titans pulled through and managed to win the state championship. The first, and main obstacle that the Titans faced was racism. Racism was prevalent throughout the whole movie, but was worst in the beginning as the team had not learned to accept each other yet. White players and parents didn t want black players or a black coach, and many wanted to boycott T.C. Williams for allowing it. Head coach, Herman Boone, solved this at the team s camp by forcing the players to get to know each other, or face practice multiple times a day. Racism continued throughout the movie, mostly from people outside of the team, but there was occasional racial tension within the team. Vulgar, ruthless, and conniving are the ones some would if they were so inclined... Despite the controversy over the shockingly short man s rule, his road to success and his untimely downfall undeniably played a large role in shaping modern France. However, what is more interesting is what shaped this historic dictator. And, it all began with his birth. Napoleon Bonaparte s early life turned from bitter sadness to unexpected accomplishment. Born August 15, 1769 into a large, impoverished family during a war between his homeland Corsicaand the mighty France, it seemed that, even then, his livelihood and well being were being challenged. His parents, Letizia and Carlo, wrestled to keep food on the table after the French war, and chose to move to France to pursue a better life. To Napoleon s distaste, his father was quick to submit to French customs and began to dress and behave just like a Frenchman ( To Destiny ). Furthermore, when Bonaparte turned nine, his father gave him his first stepping stone by procuring him a scholarship to a French school. It was at this school that Bonaparte began to truly feel set apart. With his yellow, Corsican skin, prideful ambience, and the fact that he hardly spoke French, Napoleon did not even try to fit in. At the age of fifteen, he attended the Royal Military Academy of France. One teacher described him as, quiet and solitary. Frightfully egotistical. Proud, ambitious, aspiring to everything ( To Destiny ). He would go far, his school report read, in favorable circumstances ( To Destiny ). However, in 1785 at the age of 16, he finished school and secured the title of Second Lieutenant. It was during this time that he became a genius at sighting a gun, deploying soldiers, and handling rammer and shot. Yet, he felt useless. For a man who sensed he was destined for greatness, Second Lieutenant was not a satisfactory vocation. He believed the regime would not grant him the high title he yearned for because he was a no name. For that reason, he worked to be an author instead. He wrote a quick history of Corsica and attempted writing a

A photovoltaic (PV) array is a power system designed to supply usable solar energy by means of photovoltaics. It consists of an arrangement of several components, including solar panels to absorb and convert sunlight into electricity. Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the sun that is harnessed and used especially in the field of power generation. One of the major sources of renewable energy at present times, solar energy has been of interest throughout the world particularly due to its availability in significant magnitude in comparison to other renewable sources. The reason behind this topic being chosen is primarily due to the ever growing energy demands and recent concerns regarding the rate of usage and future availability of fossil fuels and other conventional sources of energy. Also, as per many environmentalists, the excessive usage of such energy sources is affecting the environment which might lead to severe consequences for future generations. To address this issue, many organizations throughout the world have taken various initiatives to find and hence provide the public with alternative sources of energy. They therefore, have been sources of inspiration for many including ourselves to work in this field. Thus, keeping this in mind, our primary objective in this project has been to use a method to capture solar

  • 21. Reaction Paper On Cellular Respiration Cellular respiration is the oxidation of organic compounds that occurs within cells, producing energy for cellular processes (Dictionary.com, 2017) . The process of cellular respiration occurs in three phases. The first process is called Glycolysis and is the breakdown of glucose in the cytoplasm. The next process is the pyruvate molecules transported into the mitochondria (aka powerhouses of the cells), the pyruvate are then converted into 2 carbon molecules and enter the Krebs cycle. Finally the energy enters the electron transport chain and the energy is used to produce ATP (CK 12, 2017). The lungs co operate with cellular respiration as the lungs produce oxygenwhich is vital in helping the process of turning glucose into ATP. The process of the respiratory system begins at the nasal cavity and mouth where air is inhaled. The air then passes through the sinuses located in the skull which regulate the humidity and temperature as someone breathes (Zimmermann, Live Science, 2016). The air is filtered in the trachea (windpipe) and then enters the lungs through a system of pipes called the bronchi. The bronchi are located at the end of the trachea as the left or right bronchi. The bronchi branch throughout the lungs eventually forming thin walled air sacs or bubbles, known as the alveoli ( Respiratory System, 2017). In the alveoli gas exchange takes place between the air and blood. Covering each alveolus is a network of blood vessel called capillaries, which are small

In this case, it s not clear how Megan s dad being murdered is relevant, or how it connects to the plotline. The backstory is left dangling for the audience. It s a serious backstory to have a parent murdered; yet there s no payoff for the reveal. Normally, a backstory has some emotional affect on the current storyline. For example, if Megan were home when her dad was killed and she was unable to protect and save him, then this could be a relevant inner conflict for her. She could carry the guilt about her father and now she has to learn to protect herself. Or in another example, if Megan were home when her dad was murdered, maybe she saw the killer and now years later he reappears. Regardless, the idea of the connection to Brown isn t clear and it s suggested to eliminate this connection unless there s a solid link to the present day storyline and the past. The opening sets the tone for a mobster story. It establishes that Nick is deadly. However, the scene isn t as tense or suspenseful as it could be. One reason for this is that the audience isn t emotionally invested in the owner of the bookshop and the dialogue and action doesn t create compelling enough tension. The other concern about the tone is that, in

Vietnam divided the nation until they could hold an election to have a united Vietnam. A problem then arose, the north wanted a communist government and the south wanted a democratic government. China s communist government influenced the north. South Vietnam was influenced by the United States to the East. The elections were canceled and North Vietnam attacks the south. While implementing an HER offers things such as improved quality of care and increased patient safety, there are also legality issues one faces and may not realize when utilizing an EHR documentation standards change, as well as medical liability. The sooner a facility or physician s practice come to acknowledge and address the patient care issues involved in the EHR, the easier and smoother a transition becomes from the old school paper chart to the new and improved electronic health record. While there are many obvious and great reasons as to why one should implement and EHR, there are also many legality issues associated with upgrading from a paper record. However, while the movie version of Always Outnumbered, Always Outgunned follows the same concept as the book there are substantial differences in terms of events, details, and chronological order. In addition, different company will encounter different problems when changing their capital structure. This part therefor mainly focus on equity finance and debt finance in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and listed company. From the perspective of stockholders, debt finance may be more attractive compared with other financial approaches. The reasons are as follows. Firstly, it may ensurestockholders ownership unchanged (Mooij, 2012). If the board of the company intend to adopt the approach of equity finance such as issuing new rights, there is a possibility that the former stockholders may not be able to purchase all new issuing rights and then lead to dilution of control which they do not expect. Secondly, debt finance is a relatively cost effective method as there is tax advantage of debt.If a firm only has equity finance, an extra tax then needed to pay because dividends which come from profits are income for investors which

Effectiveness of after school programs, and funding is now measured by academic improvement of students who attend after school programs. Data on the effectiveness of after school programs have conflicting outcomes. Some studies found a significant increase in student s academics who attended after school programs (Durlak, Weissberg Pachan 2010; Durlak , Weissber, 2007). Others studies showed no significant gains in academic outcomes for students who attended after school programs (U.S. Department of Education, 2004; Dynarski, 2015). The methodology of studies on the effectiveness of after school programs has come into question. There are several types of after school programs, and the attendance of students varies. Some students attend five days a week, others once a month. Few of these studies factor varying attendance and programs into the studies. Lack of methodologically sound studies and dismal effect sizes have led to the publication of articles such as The 1.2 billion afterschool program that doesn t work. It is also known as Microsoft s network operating system (NOS). A network operating system can be simplified as a networked environment for various types of resources stored in a central system that is managed by administrators and also accessible for end users. Active Directory takes different information about network components and stores it. This allows active directory s clients to find objects within its namespace. The primary use for the original LDAP was a gateway between X.500 servers. Clients would interface with the LDAP and that would translate the requests and submit them to the server (Northrup, 1999). The group at University of Michigan wanted to remove the gateway to develop a directory server enabled by LDAP. To do this the LDAP would provide most of the functionality needed to as many clients as it can. Overall, this removed all the unnecessary features that were implemented and kept the concepts of the X.500. In 1995 the first LDAP directory server was released. The last major update to the LDAP was in 1997. This version, LDAPv3, provided many features and made LDAP stronger and expandable enough so that many vendors and clients can implement it easier (Northrup, 1999). Since this version, many different companies have taken the ideas and developed their own type of Directory Servers. For example, the Windows 2000 server. Windows 2000 is an operating system released to retail in February 2000. Active Directory was introduced to replace the Windows NT s domain model they had previously. Other definitions have come in the form of self government by African countries south of the Sahara, the economic, social, and cultural development of the continent, the avoidance of conflict among African states, the promotion of African unity and influence in world affairs, and a personal favorite, a struggle in which Africans and others of African blood have been engaged since their contact with modern Europe. Although none of these definitions are entirely accurate they, together, frame my understanding of Pan Africanism as a political movement and philosophical tradition founded on African pride, a consciousness of the past, and a desired unification of continental Africans and all who identify with the diaspora; seeing Africa(and its descendents) as one body even in the presence of differing people,
  • 49. Susan B. Anthony As A Teacher Or Writer Susan B. Anthony once said, I declare to you that woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand. Leader, dreamer, and believer are three words that could easily be connected with Anthony. She consistently pursued and believed that her dream of equality would someday come true, and led others away from a conflicting and unjust society. Most people know Susan B. Anthonyas a teacher or writer, but she has done so much more than that. Considering her many contributions to women s rights, readers can conclude that Susan B. Anthony devoted her life to numerous associations as well as other movements. She depicted an impact and change in her legacy as an American civil rights hero. Born in Adams, Massachusetts, Susan Brownell Anthony became the second of eight children on February 15, 1820 (history.com). Growing up, Susan B. Anthony learned that women were discouraged from voicing their views (Lifer 299). Anthony developed a sense of independence as well as moral zeal starting at an early age, which helped her realize the need for equal rights granted to women (Encyclopedia Americana 39). In her earlier life, reformers would gather in the family home near Rochester, New York, and this influenced her views on social betterment in America (Encyclopedia Americana 39). Anthony had excellent education at a time when most men were against women learning, and she began a career as a teacher (Cooper 12). As a teacher
  • 50. The Choices Of Antigone And Sophocles Antigone Kate Regan Loomis Professor Baumann The Quest for Justice September 12, 2017 Self, Family, City Though the choices that Antigone and Creon face in Sophocles Antigone differ, their decisions often end up pitted against each other s, inviting comparison. Since I am juxtaposing the characters degrees of rightness, I believe that the rightness of the reasoning, not just their ultimate stances, should be examined. The entirety of his or her argument, not just the conclusion, must be taken into account. I ll also note that my perspective of rightness could and does conflict with that of the gods in Antigone and Sophocles. Furthermore, rightness has an element of nuance to it because of the word s multiple definitions and their connotations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This combined with her fixation on the curse makes it seem blatantly obvious to me that she is using her brother s death and disrespectful treatment as an in with the gods. Antigone wants to be redeemed in the afterlife through her act of burying Polyneices. This is especially clear when she decides that she will bury him and die before she has even appealed to Creon. The only route she can see is one that results in her death. Not until she is directly confronted by her uncle does she attempt to dissuade him from dishonoring Polyneices. Even then, she seems to be simply defending her own actions rather than accusing him of being wrong, as she so adamantly has done with Ismene. He needs to implore her to Speak! (166, 442), and when she does, she is flippant and prideful. Antigone only engages in real dialogue with him when he forces her to. This could be interpreted as her simply understanding his position and accepting it, but I find that unlikely. She clearly fundamentally disagrees with him and his interpretation of the gods, but instead of trying to persuade him to recant his decree and bury her brother, she capitalizes on the position she s in and thrusts herself into martyrdom. Even by the gods standards, this does not seem to be justice or rightness . Her surface level loyalty to her family may initially appeal, but I find it insincere and not right when I explore it more closely. Creon absolutely is foolish when he

Then, the caterpillar takes 9 to at least 14 days to go through five instar stages before pupating. The first instar larva, who just got out of the egg, is solid pale green and is translucent. Next is the second instar larva which develops a pattern of white, yellow and black transverse bands, as the tentacles start to grow. The third instar larva has more distinct bands which is particularly on the abdomen. And the fourth instar is based by a new banding pattern on the thorax while the white spots are on the prolegs near the back of the caterpillar. And finally, the last two instar larva they have more complex banding pattern with white dots on the proleg. The final stage after the larvae eats mass amounts of milkweed is to search for a location to form a pupa, and within a few weeks the caterpillar will turn into a butterfly! Migration is what Monarch s are known for, since they
