Essays Describing Yourself
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Essays Describing Yourself" is an intricate endeavor that
demands a delicate balance between self-expression and objectivity. The difficulty lies in
navigating the fine line between humility and self-promotion, capturing the essence of one's
identity without veering into either excessive modesty or boastfulness.
Describing oneself in writing requires a keen introspective gaze, an ability to identify and
articulate personal strengths, weaknesses, and unique qualities. It's a challenge to strike the right
tone, as too much self-praise can come across as arrogant, while underselling oneself may not
effectively convey the depth of one's character.
Moreover, the task involves choosing the most pertinent aspects of one's life, experiences, and
attributes to showcase, presenting a cohesive narrative that is both engaging and authentic.
Balancing the personal and the universal, making the essay relatable to a diverse audience, adds
another layer of complexity.
The challenge intensifies as you try to transcend clichГ©s and avoid generic statements, ensuring
that your essay stands out amid a sea of similar self-descriptions. The writer must delve into their
past, present, and future aspirations, illustrating how these elements intertwine to shape their
identity.
Furthermore, maintaining a coherent structure and flow is crucial to keep the reader's attention
and convey a sense of purpose. The struggle to encapsulate the multidimensional nature of one's
self within the confines of an essay can be both intellectually and emotionally demanding.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the theme of self-description demands finesse, introspection,
and an acute awareness of one's audience. It is a task that requires not only writing skill but also
a deep understanding of oneself. The difficulty lies not just in narrating personal experiences but
in weaving them together into a tapestry that resonates with others.
If you find this task overwhelming, remember that there are resources available to assist you. For

The Reader as You
Jamaica Kincaid immerses the reader into her essay A Small Place through the use
of second person point of view, continually referring to the reader as you. She
characterizes the reader as a tourist from a privileged Western nation and narrates the
experiences and thoughts of the reader while visiting Antigua for the first time. By
portraying the reader as the tourist through second person narrative, Kincaid criticizes
the ignorance of Eurocentric assumptions, as well as the total superficiality of
Western tourism. Ultimately, this technique allows her to capture her disdain for
Eurocentrism, alienating the reader from Antiguan culture.
In the first sentence of the essay, Kincaid promptly employs second person
narrative by addressing the reader, If you go to Antigua as a tourist, this is what
you will see (257). Immediately, Kincaid invites the reader into the essay, provoking
the audience to imagine themselves as tourists. The reader can relate to the tourist
and can identify with the excitement of traveling to a place where the sun always
shines and the climate is deliciously hot and dry for the four to ten days you are
going to be staying there... (257). However, Kincaid then confronts the reader with
the problems inherent in this egocentric way of thinking. She proceeds to call out the
reader s ignorance about the climate: since you are a tourist, the thought of what

Netflix Case Analysis
Competition and Strategy
January 31, 2006
This case represents an analysis of the DVD rental business and specifically how
Netflix positioned itself in the market and the direction of the industry as a whole.
Several tools were utilized to help analyze Netflix. Case facts were considered in
addition to possible future strategy in relation to market position.
Introduction
Netflix was founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings who is the current CEO of the
company. Mr. Hastings has experience with the birthing of a startup company in his
venture with Pure Software, which he founded in 1991. Mr. Hastings background in

facilities in the US 1100 abroad.
Wal Mart developed a rental program almost identical to that of Netflix, through
walmart.com. Even the envelopes and movie selections were similar to Netflix s.
However, it was estimated to only accumulate 1/5 the number of subscribers as
Netflix by the end of the first year. In addition, it only had 7 distribution centers
compared to Netflix s 15. Wal Mart did plan to open more centers at other facilities
in the future. Wal Mart was still debugging its online software, where Netflix had
already spent years debugging its software.
Movie Gallery
Movie Gallery started in southern Alabama and Florida. It grew through the
acquisition of various mom and pop video stores and then video chains throughout
the Southeast. It continued expanding through this aggressive approach until it
reached 1678 stores in 42 states and five Canadian provinces. It did not have an
online program, but it was not expected to be far away.
Walt Disney s Movies On Demand
Movies on demand eliminated having to wait at least one day to receive the movie.
Walt Disney was offering one such service, called MovieBeam. There was a monthly
equipment service fee of $6.99 and a viewing fee of $3.99 ($2.49 for older titles). The
First Person Narration In Boyle s Greasy Lake
Greasy Lake s first person narration exhibits and immediate emotional effect on its
readers; Charters explains first person narration tells the story from his or her own
accounts or perspective. Secondly, it is further stated the first person narrator is
only able to tell the direct action of what s taking place or his/her own ability top
mentally process what is taking place (1793). Similarly we can see in the beginning
of the story on how he is setting the tone of a 1st person narration through a
reminiscent tone of the past.
Boyle uses of past tense words such as when, were and then at the beginning of the
story gives us an account of sitting in the room with this character being told story
before our very eyes. Furthermore the opening sentence is a powerful way to set the
narration There was a time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This change from the narrator s perspective of his past to actual accounts in a
specific point of his past in the story is absolutely brilliant. From this point, the
narrator takes his exquisite descriptions of his perception of the era when he was
as a late teenager to a descriptive detailed moment for moment account of the single
night. Furthermore, the narrator s description of the fight between his self and the
greasy character highlights some of these points. For example, Like a fool, I d
gone down on one knee to comb the stiff hacked grass for the keys, my mind
making connections in the most dragged out, testudineous way then to end that
sentence he said the lost key was my grail to salvations (Boyle 166). This action that
he is describing is very detailed from a 1st person narrator and that this narrator can
be considered reliable. Also, with this amount of description and firsthand account
makes him a major character in The Greasy
Deprivation Account Of Death Analysis
How does the deprivation account deal with this?
According to the deprivation account, death can be a misfortune for you if it
deprives you of the good things you would have otherwise experienced. Similarly,
death can be good for you if your life is not worth living any more. Thus, the
deprivation account captures a fundamental intuition about life and death: the value of
death depends on what life had in store for you had you not died at that moment.
The deprivation account evaluates the badness of death quantifying the amount of
welfare loss that the death inflicts on the victim. This evaluation is based on a
comparison between two possible well being levels of the person: the well being
level in the person s life until the time of death to the well being level of the
possible life he could have had. If the value of the comparison is negative, this is, if
death makes the well being level lower that it would have been otherwise, death is a
misfortune for the person. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, how do we do this comparison when one of the terms of the comparison does
not exist? How can we compare both situations? Philosophers talk sometimes in
terms of counterfactuals, or possible worlds (cit needed). It is possible to imagine a
world equal to ours in every respect apart from Carol s death. In one world Carol dies
tomorrow, in the other relevant (for our purposes) possible world Carol dies a month
from today, whilst all the rest of the characteristics of the world remain constant (we
refer to his as the closest possible world). The difference in value between the two
worlds is the value of Carol s

Spring 2017 In the photo, we see two coffee cups, one that is in an insulated
thermos with a lid, and one that is a regular mug open to the air, on a college student
s desk at home during their finals studying. It is well known that as coffee sits in any
container, it cools down towards room temperature, making it less tasty to drink once
it gets lukewarm or even room temperature. However, if it is too hot, it can burn the
drinkers tongue and throat, which is incredibly painful, speaking from experience.
The rate at which coffee cools may not seem like a science, but in fact, this plays into
the laws of thermodynamics that are present in ... Show more content on

Often, energy is lost to the surroundings, and not directly transferred from one object
to the other. However, a perfect thermos would prevent any heatfrom leaking out or
in. Energy in the form of heat can flow between materials inside the thermos to the
extent that they have different temperatures; for example, between ice cubes and
warm coffee. The transfer of energy continues until a common temperature is
reached at thermal equilibrium (Cutnell 2014). Thermal equilibrium occurs when
there is no heat flow between two materials, making them essentially the same
temperature. This is why the coffee continues to cool down the longer it is
exposed to the air, because heat exchange is occurring, and the liquid is cooling
down from its original warmth to be more like the room that is it in, as the room
has less heat. This is why a thermos causes the coffee to cool down slower, because
the thermos provides insulation against the exchange of heat from the outside. The
extra insulating layer is actually a vacuum, or absence of air, formed during the
construction of the thermos. The best insulator possible is a vacuum, because there
s no air. If there s no air to transfer heat, then the heat is retained where it is

Investigation Of A Coil Gun
Abstract: The task of this assignment is to evaluate the of a coil gun using the
variables of number of rapes of coil and the distance the projectile will travel. Then
will evaluate and investigate the physics behind the gun. Aim: The purpose of this
investigation the efficiency of a coil gun using the relationship between the
number of coils and the distance the projectile travelled. Hypothesis: In this
investigation there is a relationship between the number of coils and the distance
the projectile travelled. Therefore the more coils the further the projectiles will
travel (cm). Prediction: As more coils are wrapped around the gun, the distance of
the projectile will increase. Literature Review: Coil gun A coilgun (aka gun Gauss,
Gauss Gauss cannon or rifle) is a type of gun that uses a series of electromagnets
for magnetically accelerate a projectile at high speed. The name Gauss gun comes
from Carl Friedrich Gauss, who formulated the mathematical proofs of the
electromagnetic effect used by Gauss cannons. The Gauss cannons are often called
wrongly railguns from various sources, and while they are similar in general concept
(ie, a magnetic weapon), differ in operation, since a railgun accelerates the missiles
on two rails parallel conductors. The Gauss cannons are in substance identical to the
projector mass, albeit on a smaller scale. Kristian Birkeland is commonly considered
the inventor of the electromagnetic cannon Gauss, by which he obtained a patent

By the mid 19th century larger touring circuses started using side shows. There
were two main types of freak shows the first being Human oddities , such as
Siamese twins, giants, dwarfs, bearded ladies, people missing limbs etc. and the
other Working Acts , which included sword swallowers, fire eaters, magicians.
These acts included people from diverse ethnic backgrounds who fascinated those
who did not travel. Unique animals, such as animals that could apparently read,
write, or count were also incorporated. The circus owners would use scientific
language to display their performers and sometimes included writing that depicted
the performer s physical condition and explained their scientific importance.
Freakshow postcards were also used and very popular, such as Lavinia Warren who
printed 50 000 images of herself which were sold to an audience for profit. In the
1940s freak shows were considered unacceptable and offensive and decreased in
popularity, for instance Nanette Stocker and John Hauptman worked as a musical
double act and advertisements made them look like their size had an impact on their

Metaphor Essay Metaphor
A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object
or action to which it is not literally applicable. Metaphors are one of the most
common figures of speech found in literature. Not to be confused with similes;
metaphors differ by not using words such as like or as in the comparing process. If
you use them correctly, they can make visualizing and understanding a cake walk
for readers. Metaphors aren t just used sentence by sentence. Sometimes whole
paragraphs, stanzas, and even entire works of literature are metaphors. These are
called extended metaphors Examples of extended metaphors can be found in
Romeo and Juliet where Romeo creates a trend of comparing Juliet to the sun
saying things such as But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the
East, and Juliet is the sun! Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, Who is
already sick and pale with grief. , The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost is just an
elaborate metaphor about life and not following what everyone else does to create a
more authentic life for yourself, and in mother to son by Langston Hughes which
compares a rough staircase to life and its challenges. Metaphors can be found
everywhere using all different kinds of forms and lengths. During the puritan era it
was common for writers to use religious metaphors. Whether the metaphor only
lasted one line or engulfed the entire body of work, almost every story or poem
referenced Christianity. Some of

impossible decision. A few female famous artists today can explain how this became
a stereotype and made this an impossible career pathway.
Even though these stereotypes are partially ruining the careers of potential young
talented female rappers, there are some artists who are not contributing to the cause.
Due to the fame of certain female rappers, these artists are not trying to stop the
stereotype, but are actually embracing them which does not help the younger artists

genres of music, was not as ideal or familiar with the average person until the 90 s.
Women were especially not seen as listening to this type of music, let alone
producing and releasing their own lyrics and music. Women were generally seen as
not being able to produce as influential music as the male would, mainly because
there was not a good amount of females rapping. Since this is known male dominated

Biocultural Analysis of Gattaca Movie (1997)
Introduction
Gattaca is an American based science fiction cinema directed by Andrew Niccol in
1997. The movie is set shortly where social class is demarcated by the genetic
composition. Eugenics, which is the methodology of conceiving babies via genetic
manipulation, has become the most typical process of giving birth (Niccol, 2015).
Though discrimination is unlawful, the D.N.A analysis has become an ordinary
procedure, and those who were naturally conceived are seen as invalids , which
makes discriminated in various, for instance, resulting in being given minor jobs.
Therefore, this research presents the summary, the biocultural phenomenon, and the
real world implications of Gattaca (1997) movie.
Media Summary
The film, Gattaca (1997) is set shortly where genetically conceived babies are
preferred to those that are born naturally. The main characters in this film include
Vincent Jerome, Eugene, Irene, Director Josef, Detective Hugo, and Anton. Vincent
Freeman is among the last children to be naturally conceived. After his birth, the
physicians tell his parents of his many limitations, in particular, that his lifespan is
estimated to be 30.2 years (Niccol, 2015). Vincent decides to travel to the stars.
However, he is categorized by the society as not suitable regarding his genetic
composition, and he has turned out to be among the discriminated humans who are
only offered menial careers. To proceed with his mission, he assumes Jerome
Morrow s identity since the latter had a perfect genetic composition and was
paraplegic due to his involvement in a car accident. Vincent manages to deceive the
urine and DNA sample testing after following a professional advice. However, his
mission becomes jeopardized when his program director is murdered, and a fresh
investigation is tabled.
Biocultural Phenomenon
In the near future, when the idea of genetic engineering is common among humans,
and the DNA plays an integral part in identifying one s social class, Vincent is
conceived and born naturally without the assistance of genetic engineering
technologies. He suffers from the almost eliminated physical deformations of
congenital heart disease and myopia, and
The Last Bookshop
The Last Bookshop
It is another cloudy and grey day in my town; as usual I open my bookshop, just in
case that one customer comes. Books are getting old you know, people just don t
seem to like them anymore, now that there is this new holographic gaming, internet,
television stuff. I haven t had a customer for 25 years 2 months and 6 days, but I
open my bookshop hoping someone will come...
I own the last bookshop in the whole world. I have got thousands of books and all of
my books are 5th or 6th handed, they are very old, even older than me and I am
nearly 70 years old. People used to give me books from people who had died or didn
t want their books.
It is around the year 2070; the world has changed so much since I was a boy. There
is so much new technology, most devices you can control with hand movements, it
amazes me. These days a book is almost as rare as a type writer was in the year
2014, and so is cold hard cash. Anyway that s enough introducing from me; let me tell
you the rest of my story...
It was in the afternoon of this cold and grey day, I was minding my own business,
putting the books on their shelf and tidying up the place. I saw a book in the middle
of the shelf half sticking out, how unusual I thought to myself. Then I started to hear
footsteps run down the stairs. So I try to find the person to give them their book.
Finally I found him, a school boy standing right in front of me,
You re here I said
Who s here? the 11 year old boy replied.

Analysis Of Plato s Apology On The Man Of Save The Day,...
The Man to Save the Day, but not Himself
An Analysis of Plato s Apology
Socrates, painted as a humble man who never had any of his own writings, and often
speculated to be illiterate, is considered one of the major partisans of Western
philosophy. Western philosophy is the philosophical thought of the western world.
This idea proves to be quite accurate when considering Plato s Apology, the apology
of Socrates which is not really considered an apology but a defense. In the ancient
Greek era, the word apology meant to defend one s actions and explain why they
were done, rather than apology and take ownership of the actions done. In Plato s
account of Socrates apology, Socrates appears to be an innocent old man who is
full of unrecognized wisdom, a man who is victimized by the society, the court,
and the politicians of that time. This victimization stems from the insecurities of
the attackers. Socrates was an advocate of tending to the needs of the soul, above
all else, and this idea was despised by the people who criticized him because the
idea itself convicted them, caused them to appear as wrong. Socrates actions, in
which he sat in the center of Athens speaking to the youth and cross examining the
arrogant, and these ideas which he displayed to the public are what initially got him
into the mess of being on trial. Socrates is eventually sentenced to death, and in this
happening is considered a martyr, similar to Jesus Christ. As the ideas above portray,
Socrates was a
Cardiovascular Disease
Diseases of the cardiovascular and lymphatic system can present itself in many
ways. Often these diseases circulate through the body creating a vehicle for
pathogens to spread. We will look at four different diseases that affect the
cardiovascular and lymphatic system. Plague is an infectious disease; it had a deadly
effect on human history. The plague was known as Black Deathin the middle ages.
The causative agents of the plague are Yersinia pestis Gram negative bacteria. This
bacterium is usually spread through contact with the vectors or in this case the
oriental rat flea, which usually have direct contact humans. The oriental rat fleas feed
on the reservoirs such as Rodents, rats, mice and squirrels that harbors to infectious
agents.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The causative agent is Filoviridae ebolavirus. There is no known reservoir for the
virus, although scientists believe that fruit bats may be a possible reservoir because
they harbor the disease without showing any signs or symptoms. Once infected with
the virus the symptoms, usually do not appear for two to twenty one days, which
resembles the flu and often mistaken or misdiagnosed as the flu. However, as the
disease progress, bleeding from the inside is noticeable through stool, coughing up
blood, bleeding from the eyes and ears. Unfortunately, there is no treatment for this
deadly infection and usually involves treating the symptoms as they appear. Nursing
interventions are a major part in treating the patient and possible survival from this
disease. Priority nursing interventions include, watching for any changes in the
patient s respiration rate and pattern, monitor the patient s fluid and electrolyte
imbalance, intake and output. Also, check and monitor complete blood count and
coagulation studies for signs of blood loss and coagulopathy, monitor and test stools,
urine and vomitus for blood; watch for bleeding. Teach the patient s family about
Ebola virus infection; monitor the patient s family and other close contacts for fever

Mandrill Morphology
Mandrills, or also known by their scientific name Mandrillus sphinx, live in the
rain forests of equatorial Africa, (San Diego Balboa Zoo, Mandrill exhibit/plaques,
2018). The Mandrill Morphology: The mandrill has a distinct dental formula of
2:1:2:3, located on the maxilla and mandible, which categorizes this primate to be
in the catarrhine parvorder. All Old World monkeys, apes, and humans share this
very same 2.1.2.3 dental formula. They are well known for their enormous canine
teeth, which can be over 2 inches, roughly 5 centimeters long. Each tooth is vital
for the madrills survival, the pointed canines are used to pierce and tear at fruits or
nuts meanwhile the premolars (or bicuspids) and molars, with their multiple cusps,
are used to grind and smash food (The Primates: Monkeys, 2013). There are very
distinct differences between the male and female Mandrills, especially in this
exhibit. An adult male mandrill that has the brightest and most distinctive colors on

Guilt In Maus II By Art Spiegelman
In Maus II, Art Spiegelman emphasizes the effect that guilt has on him and his
father. This guilt is the product of Vladek and Art s relationship with the Holocaust
as a whole. In Maus II, the relationship between the past and the present is relatively
important. In the very beginning of chapter one, we see how Art reflects on this idea
of guilt in detail. When Art and Francoise are driving to Catskills, he states that he
wishes that he would [have] been in Auschwitz with [his] parents so [he] could really
know what they lived through! where he comments that it is some form of guilt
about having an easier life than they did (Spiegelman II, 14). This form of guilt stems
from never having to live through the Holocaust. Moreover, Art is not

The HR Profession map outlines that HR professionals need to apply sound people
management practices to build high performing teams (2.4.2 HRPM) This required
activity is key to upholding HR Professionalism within any organisation as high
performing teams are critical for productivity, performance and achieving results.
Note the word build , it is unlikely that you will have high performing teams across
any organisation at all times as they are complex and hard to sustain. A HR
professional will keep reviewing progress within the team and always consider what
they could do differently to maintain and improve standards and expectations.
People Management systems such as performance appraisals, quality circles, cascade

of them. This matters because the children are more of a burden to the families
because they can t really do anything to help out their families situation. Swift
argues that mothers can t go to work due to the children, since they need to be
taken care of. Ireland is becoming more overpopulated due to the poor families
because they are having around four through six kids. This will eventually hurt the
whole economic system thus bringing down the middle class down. As well as the
whole country will be affected. Luckily Swift finds a solution to this problem, which
is selling their kids to the rich as

Abstract Colorimetric assay is a process of determining a concentration of a solution
based on absorbance of light. The purpose of this lab is to determine if the Bradford
assay is an accurate way to determine an unknown concentration of two samples of
protein. The Bradford assay is done by measuring wavelength of light passing through
a cuvette filled with Bradford dye and concentrations of PBS and proteins. After the
cuvettes are mixed they are placed into a spectrophotometer to measure wavelength.
The wavelength given will be used to plot a standard curve based on concentration (x
axis) and wavelength (y axis). The standard curve is then used to measure an educated
guess on the concentrations of unknown protein concentrations. We hypothesized that
if we use the Bradford assay and colorimetric spectrophotometry we can determine an
accurate concentration of two unknown concentrations of proteins. The results of this
lab failed to reject our hypothesis based on accurate measurements of protein
concentrations. The standard curves are drawn with a linear increasing slope. The
Bradford assay is an accurate way to demine the concentration of an unknown
concentration.

Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart
Chinua Achebe Biography
Chinua Achebe, the author of ВЁThings Fall ApartВЁ, was known for writing about
the imposition of white men on African society. Achebe was a Nigerian man who
became one of the most well known authors in the world. His works were inspired by
African culture and he helped define African literature.Chinua s most famous literary
work is ВЁThings Fall ApartВЁ, but he has many other books that he is known for,
including No Longer at Ease , ВЁArrow of GodВЁ, and ВЁA Man of the PeopleВЁ.
Achebe helped to define African literature, and show the reality of Europeans
mistreatment toward Africans.
Chinua Achebe was born to Isaiah and Janet Achebe as Albert Chinualumogu
Achebe in the Igbo town of Ogidi, Nigeria on November 16, 1930. He favored the
Igbo name Chinua, which was short for Chinualumogu, instead of Albert. Achebe
grew up in Ogidi until he accepted a scholarship to study medicine at the
University College of Ibadan. He decided to switch to English literature and gave
up the scholarship, though his brother John provided financial assistance and he
was able to continue. His college professors were all European, and he read
Shakespeare, Milton, Defoe, Swift, and many other renowned European authors. In
1939, one of the books they were required to read was ВЁMister JohnsonВЁ. This
book serves as a turning point for Achebe, and inspires him to write about Nigerian
life. In 1958, he published ВЁThings Fall ApartВЁ and it received the Margaret

Killer Angels Essay
The Killer Angels
The Battle of Gettysburg brought the dueling North and South together to the small
town of Gettysburg and on the threshold of splitting the Union. Gettysburg was as
close as the United States got to Armageddon and The Killer Angels gives the full
day to day account of the battle that shaped America s future. Michael Shaara tells the
story of the Battle of Gettysburg through the eyes of the generals and men involved in
the action of the battle. The historical account of the Battle of Gettysburg gives the
reader a chance to experience the battle personally and not the history book manner
taught in schools. A historical novel gives the facts straightforward and provides no

Shaara, through his commentary on General Lee, explains that Lee did not want
to fight the war but had to. Lee felt it was his duty to fight for his fellow
countrymen, but not for a cause, land, or slavery. So it was no cause and no
country he fought for, no ideal and no justice. He fought for his people, for the
children, and the kin, and not even the land, because the land was worth the war,
but the people were, General Lee says (Shaara 263). General Lee fights for himself
and has no choice but to fight, knowing in the end that he might be wrong with his
cause and pay the price someday. General Lee is not a proponent of war, but he will
serve his country with honor and duty if necessary.
A man of ideals and honor represent the character of Union Colonel Joshua
Chamberlain. Being a man of education, Chamberlain knows the demeaning and
repulsive nature of slavery and has come to fight to end it. Chamberlain hates the
whole idea of the Civil War and the death and destruction that goes along with it. I
used my brother to plug a hole. Did it automatically as if he were expendable, says
Chamberlain (Shaara 304). He hates the idea that men, including his brother, are
dying out in the fight for slavery. The only reason he believes in the Civil War is
that if he the North did not fight freedom would be tarnished and a great travesty
would occur. Chamberlain is not a man of war and blood and doesn t relish war and
its qualities. The idea of war in general to

Starvation in America is heavily used when you also hear donations but have you
actually sat down and looked into the problem? What causes it, and what we can
actually do to help people? Is there really a way to stop people from starving?
Starvation mainly occurs in southern states such as, New mexico, Arizona and
Mississippi. Starvation, also known as food insecurity, is defined as suffering or
death caused by hunger but it is more than that. It is going most days without food
not knowing if it is going to kill you or not. Starvation is a serious problem not only
in the united states but in other countries too.

Music Compare and Contrast
Since the beginning of time, many bands and artists have helped shape the way
people live. Thirty Seconds to Mars, with lead singer Jared Leto, is a very
successful pop rock band. Starting in 1998, the members of this band did not have
it easy. Neither did Ludwig van Beethoven who grew to be one of the most
successful composers of all time. Taking in the world and challenges around them,
both of these artists overcame many obstacles to become what they are known for.
Their fans have followed and have been inspired by them. The band Thirty Seconds

shortly after coming to Vienna, Beethoven rushed back home for his mother fell
ill. She died a few months later which sent her son into depression. The depression
however, did not last and Beethoven continued carrying on as a young musician. In
1790, Beethoven, just 19 years old, received a remarkable honor of composing a
musical memorial for the death of the Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II. With no
reasons known, this piece was never played. However, more than a century later,
Johannes Brahms discovered that Beethoven had in fact composed a beautiful and
noble piece of music entitled Cantata on the Death of Emperor Joseph II. It is now
considered his earliest masterpiece ( Biography ). Just under two decades old, this
man was pronouncing himself in the world. As Mozart said before, he was giving
the world amazing music to talk about. It took the band Thirty Seconds to Mars

Marketing Plan For The Whirlpool Corporation
The Whirlpool Corporation is a multinational corporation with its world headquarters
located in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Whirlpool manufacturers home appliances
including Kitchen Aid, Maytag, and Amana. First started in 1911, manufacturing
electric hand wringers, it has grown into a global world leader in home appliances
manufacture.

In 2002 Whirlpool purchased Amana, which manufactures ovens, refrigerators,
dishwashers and air conditioners. Amana had products with a mature growth cycle
as did Whirlpool so this was a good strategy to increase their product line and loyal
customer base.
b.Horizontal related diversification is when a company adds products that are
unrelated to its current offerings. Whirlpool purchased Kitchen Aid in 1986, which
manufactured stand mixers, among other products. This was not something
Whirlpool was familiar with but using the celebrity chef popularity at the time,
promoted Kitchen Aid heavily and markedly increased their customer base. (History

c.Conglomerate unrelated diversification is growth strategy that involves adding new
products or services that are significantly different from the organization s present
products or services. This happens when the company diversifies into an area that is
completely dissimilar to the current line of business. Whirlpool currently offers
licensing upon approval to any products. Products they license now include water
softeners, water coolers, upright vacuums and outdoor grills. These products, when
sold with the Whirlpool name behind them, increases brand name awareness as well
as loyal customers. (Brand Licensing 2016)

A beneficial inequality represented in the documentary as well as in the papers is
that there is no child labor within the dump. All workers are of sixteen years of age
or older (Adepegba and Ogunrinola, 2012). This documentary also takes a look on
how the poor peoples actions are all represented as one, and how for the most part
they are socially unaccepted by others who live in Lagos. The people in the dump
are ones to be blamed for social inequality. The majority of the people in the dump
are there to make a business. In order to stay in business they have to stay out of
the public s eye. When one of the main characters in the documentary got arrested,
the situation threatened the whole dump. The reckless behavior of one man was
portrayed throughout the thousands of other people working in the dump as
being incompetent and troublemakers of society (Nwoye, n.d). Environmentally,
the Olusosun rubbish dump is a place for its inhabitants to thrive. It is where they
live and it is also where they get all of their resources to sustain their businesses. By
the end of the documentary you get the sense that it is a good place for these
people to live. The film does show how they face many challenges in the dump
such as fires, which can suspend their sales between days and weeks. This film fails
to recognize how these challenges and some of the practices these people use to get
their product prepared for sale actually cause harm to their lives and others who

Nature Of Control And Its Effects On The Way Individuals...
Research has shown that there is significant variability in the way individuals
perceive and interpret events. Frequently, individuals encounter and are exposed to
situations in their environment where causation tends to be subjectively inferred.
Due to these instances where one is able to nonchalantly assume the causality
between certain events or situations that occur, gives rise to the phenomenon of
illusory control. Langer (1975) introduced the concept illusion of control as the
expectancy of a personal success probability which is inappropriately higher than the
objective probability would warrant. Even though the objective odds are evident, the
remaining subjective expectation of success is thought to be dependent on factors...

Previous research has suggested that there are certain individuals who are more
prone to an illusion of control than others (e.g. Alloy Abramson, 1979; Biner et al.,
1995; Delfabbro LeCouteur, 2009; Friedland et al., 1991; Langer, 1975; Rudski,
2004). Rotter (1966) proposed that ones locus of control, which refers to an
individual s generalised expectancy of success based on their previous experience,
will influence ones predisposition to illusory control.
However, the issue with this notion is the reliance on multiple forms of perception
at once, and it is likely individuals will differ in these each of these aspects (e.g.
personal, social and political beliefs). Therefore, to understand and measure how
beliefs about events occur in the world while considering these differences,
application of scales measuring principles like superstitions (Matute, 1995; Wiseman
Watt, 2004), paranormal beliefs (Peters et al. 1999) luck, chance and how these
might impact activities like gambling (Friedland et al., 1991; Wood Clapham
2005), will be valuable. Studies have shown that those more likely to develop an
illusion of control are correlated with their desire for control (Biner et al. 1995),
superstitious or paranormal beliefs (Rudski 2004) as well as their delusory beliefs
(Balzan et al. 2013). Therefore, it is evident that certain individuals appear more

Oral Sucrose For Pain Relief
Running head: ORAL SUCROSE IN NICU Oral Sucrose for Pain Relief in NICU

Newborn infants are routinely exposed to pain introduced from injection, heel
lancing, arterial stab, or circumcision, which is harmful to the infants in the stage
of physiologically development. Last decade witnessed the significant progress in
applying sucrose to neonatal infants as pain relief in painful procedures.
Comparisons of efficacy have been made among different dosages. This paper is an
overview of five research articles with findings related to oral sucrose
administration. Whether a valid sucrose guideline of administrating dosage is
available to direct nursing practices in NICU remains inconclusive, while additional
research with larger sample size and repeated sucrose usage in routinely painful
procedures need to be performed. Oral Sucrose in Pain Relief in NICU Practices

example, injection, heel lancing, arterial stab, or circumcision (Heaton, Herd,

when responding to immediate pain, resulting in increased heart and respiratory rates,
increased blood pressure, decreased oxygen saturation, and a release of adrenal stress
hormones. In addition, since premature
What Is English Language Teaching

1.1INTRODUCTION
Language is the celestial souvenir of divinity only to the mankind. Language is the
most powerful medium of representation. A language lends a hand to an individual in
the progress of his or her own personality that distinguishes a man from an animal. In
fact it is the language which transports the people of different cultures, traditions and
communities nearer. Language is a means of exchange a few words, thoughts and

Teacher has to understand the concept of language teaching and learning because its
nature is quite different. Teaching is an art and learning is science. Language is an

Word Count: 1,277 An Investigation into Honor in Chronicle of a Death Foretold
According to Epic World History, Latin American men consider honor both a
prized personal possession and a crucially important expression of one s public self
( Epic World History ). To lose one s honor was to become low and tarnished in
society s eyes. Chronicle of a Death Foretold tells a story of horrific murder driven
by the loss of honor through a journalistic view. In the novella, Chronicle of a Death
Foretold, through the actions and thoughts of the Vicario brothers and townspeople,
Gabriel GarcГa Marquez highlights the absurdity of the code of honor and critiques
the flaws in Latin American society.
With the defensive actions of the Vicario brothers, Marquez scrutinizes how Latin
American society uses the code of honor as a justification for vengeful acts.
Following the crime, the Vicario brothers speak on trial, defending their innocence:
It was a matter of honour (29). Marquez uses the self justifying tone of the phrase
matter of honor to criticize that within Latin American society, people do not falter to
commit such heinous crimes, and perceive such acts as ways to regain honor. The
Vicario brother s justification of homicide therefore reflects the society s twisted
perception of honor. The Vicario s brother s self reassurance is also conveyed through
the numerous times they announced, We are going to kill Santiago Nasar
Thin Layer Chromatography ( Tlc )
Thin layer chromatography (TLC) is a technique used to identify components
within a compound and determine the compounds purity. The purpose of this
experiment is to determine what solvent works the best at separating the different
pigments of the paprika extract. The solvents used to develop the plate are hexane
and methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE), as well as three mixtures of the two solutions
(5% MTBE in hexane, 10% MTBE in hexane, and 30% MTBE in hexane). Hexane
is a non polar alkane that is used as a solvent for many different things and MTBE
is a polar ether that is used as a fuel additive. In this experiment, five TLC plates
were set up and ran in each of the five prepared solvents. There are four steps when
performing TLC which include: spot (touch the capillary to the plate briefly so the
compound runs out and forms a small spot on the plate), develop (choose a solvent
to develop the plate, then place the slide in the developing chamber), visualize
(when the solvent reaches the stop line, remove and visualize the data), and
calculate (measure the distance between the spot and start line to calculate the Rf
values). Rf= Distance traveled by spot Distance traveled by solvent Procedure
Extraction of carotenoids from paprika powder. First weigh out 0.5 g of paprika
powder and place it in a 50 mL beaker. Then add a magnetic stir bar to the beaker
and 5 mL of methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE), allowing it to stir for 5 10 minutes.

The Mandate Of Heaven Dbq
Around the year 1046 BCE, King Wu, of the province of Zhou, rebelled against
King Zhou of Shang and defeated his forces at the Battle of Muye, establishing the
Zhou Dynasty (c. 1046 256 BCE). 1046 771 BCE marks the Western Zhou Period
while 771 226 BCE marks the Eastern Zhou Period. The Mandate of Heaven was
invoked by the Duke of Zhou, King Wu s younger brother, to legitimize the revolt as
he felt the Shang were no longer acting in the interests of the people. The Mandate of
Heaven was thus defined as the gods blessing on a just ruler and rule by divine
mandate. When the government no longer served the will of the gods, that
government would be overthrown. Further, it was stipulated that there could be only
one legitimate ruler of China
The Keiserschlacht or Emperor s Battle
In 1914, General Erich Ludendorff, Germany s key commander in World War I,
along with General Paul von Hindenburg, strategically placed the German Army in a
series of three 25 mile trenches in central France. This new position gave the
German s a false sense of security, which led them to believe that they would win
World War I. At first, the onslaught and brute force of the offensive proved itself
well. The Kaiserschlacht, or Emperor s Battle, quickly turned around due to lack
of supplies and heavy casualties. Since the Central Powers were becoming more
confident, they made more mistakes and thus began losing battles and eventually
the war. Greater numbers and strength of the Allied Powers ultimately led to the
slaughter and defeat of the Germans under Generals Ludendorff and Hindenburg.
Germany had the chance to end the war before the resources from the United
States could be deployed into France and Britain. In an advantage by numbers,
fearless leader Ludendorff set off to gain land for Germany and defeat the Allied
powers once and for all. The Germans knew that they had to conquer Europe before
the Americans could train soldiers and ship men and supplies to the front lines. The
addition of Americans to the Allied Powers would significantly impact the outcome
of the war. Germany still believed that they could win the war. German hope was
increased when Russia withdrew from the war in 1917. Ludendorff, a former chief of
staff under General Hindenburg, was a
Existentialism By Frank Kafk Isolation And Desperation
Existentialism can be defined in a multitude of forms. Frank Kafka was a prominent,
influential German language writer of novels and short stories; one of which includes
The Metamorphosis. His distinguishing philosophy of existentialism consists of two
main concepts: isolation and desperation. The notion of alienation is a fundamental
theme that is condensed throughout the short story. Gregor Samsa, main character
and protagonist of The Metamorphosis, goes through a complete physical
transfiguration that establishes the principle framework of the novel. In addition to
Gregor s metamorphosis, Kafka s existentialism is enforced to Gregor s death,
family figures, job conditions, and the weather conditions. Kafka s ideology
suggests that one knows that death is inevitable; one must cease to exist. Gregor s
physical transformation into an insect alienated him from himself, his own species,
and his own families. When Gregor Samsa woke up one morning from unsettling
dreams, he found himself changed in his bed into a monstrous vermin (Kafka, Pg 4).
Not once did Gregor question or panic about his physical change. Despite his
indifference state of mind about his appearance, he emerges to be more distressed in
terms of not attending work on time rather than his impulsive alteration. Gregor has
failed to develop a sense of individuality and lack of humanity. By the appellation
vermin, linguistic usage designates the lowest form of human self contempt. Seeing
himself as vermin,
How Does Randy Pausch Show Perseverance
What is the definition of perseverance? Well, according to the Oxford English
Dictionary, perseverance is steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or
delay in achieving success . The quirky, ambitious Junior and the creative,
enthusiastic Randy Pausch both display immense amounts of perseverance. Junior
demonstrates this by attending Reardan High School to prove that he is still alive
and reaching for his goals. Randy Pausch displays his perseverance through his
brick walls; the obstacles in one s life and how they show how bad one desires
something. The two individuals are enduring through the challenges in their lives,
and eventually are able to overcome them. The first story The Absolutely True Diary
of a Part Time Indian begins with our main character, Arnold Junior... Show more

He was a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, and gave a lecture titled The
Last Lecture , where professors are tasked with providing a lecture as if it was
their last. But here s the plot twist: it really was Randy s last lecture, since he had
been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just a few months before the lecture. Randy
tried to construct a speech that would not only be a last lecture, but also a message
to his little children about how to live life, and that would be his most difficult
challenge. The presentation he created was designed to tell a complete story of his
life, and during the talk he mentioned brick walls. He discusses the brick walls that
emerged in his life, such as trying to date Jai and attempting to float in near zero
gravity. He manages to overcome them, and even achieves his childhood dreams
such as becoming a Disney Imagineer, and it is all because of Randy s perseverance
and being able to conquer the trials in front of him. He tries to inform his children
about the brick walls in life: they re only there to see how far one would go to reach

Hills Like White Elephants, By Ernest Hemmingway
In the story Hills Like White Elephants, Ernest Hemmingway allows a superficial
plot to symbolically display a conflict between choice of destination as a couple s
discussion between train rides. The layers of description and dialog manipulate a
small moment of time and demonstrate that a human choice can range while
perspective shifts the understood potential of the landscape. By crafting an intricate
story that is filled with symbolism and overlapping complexities, Hemmingway
provides a sophisticated short storythat exposes the feelings behind controversial life
choices. The story begins by introducing the side of the valley with no shade and no
trees, a forty minute wait time, and the couple in Spain. The two are described at
first as an American and a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

pregnancy isn t some problem that needs an abortion to remedy it. Through the
numerous details, Hemmingway creates a short story that reflects the opinions of two
very different opinions. In one case, change is something that is desired, yet in the
same relationship, change can be too consequential to readily accept. The differing
nature scenes and the descriptions of characters created a duality while the setting
facilitated symbolism. Overall, the implementation of many factors and devices
created a detailed piece of literature that could explore the different mindsets of the

Coors Brewing Company, Inc.
MBA 4231, Achieving Strategic Advantage II
Daniels College of Business
University of Denver
May 27, 2004
Executive Summary
Throughout most of its history, the Coors Brewing Company (Coors) has been a
regionalized brewer within the United States, specializing in high quality beer
through by virtue of its source water selection, stringent production standards, and
cold filtered brewing approach. As the company expanded its distribution to new
markets within the U.S. in attempt to gain market share, it made a strategic decision
to maintain a majority of its brewing operations at its primary production facility in
Golden, Colorado. This decision was based upon the desire to

During that time Coors also pioneered the aluminum can a standard in the beverage
industry today.
Much of what has been accomplished by Coors over the past century has been at the
management hands of the Coors family. In the 21st century, the beer industry
landscape changed dramatically. It has evolved into a competitive industry that
competes internationally at multiple levels. Coors is looking to continue to grow and
become the 5th largest brewer by volume worldwide. Many questions arise, however,
and many challenges must be met to accomplish this goal. Will Coors be able to
maintain its family culture business structure on an international stage or will it have
to give up family control to achieve its growth goal? Will Coors attempt, at least on
some level, to grow its core product organically? And if so, how will the company
address its distribution logistics issues of product delivery from Golden, Colorado?
Can Coors maintain the quality level on an international stage that has become
synonymous with its domestic reputation? In essence, does the Rocky Mountain
King have the necessary competencies within the current management, and within its
business strategy/approach to become an international company? III. Industry

The beer industry is comprised of companies that manufacture beer and malt
beverages. There are many different types of commercial beer that are
How Asthma Fit Into The Healthy People 2020
Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airway that impacts a person s and
their family s quality of life. In people with asthma, their airway becomes constricted
with swelling and excessive mucous. This constriction or narrowing of the airway
makes it difficult for the person with asthma to breath (Massachusetts Department of
Public Health, 2009). If asthmais left uncontrolled, it leads to further wheezing,
coughing, shortness of breath, tiredness, and stress. (Massachusetts Department of
Public Health, 2009).
How does asthma fit into the Healthy People 2020? As it is stated in Health People
2020, the main goal is to, Promote respiratory health through better prevention,
detection, treatment, and education efforts. Under this goal, Healthy People list
several objectives such as, reducing asthma death, hospitalizations, emergency
department (ED) visits, activity limitations, and miss school and work days; in
addition, increasing education and prevention program (Healthy People 2020, 2014).
Description of the Problem: Community Demographics Asthma is a serious problem
nationwide. It is also a significant problem in the state of Massachusetts, especially in
communities in Boston. However, according to Harvard School of Public Health and
NIEHS Center for Environmental Health, Roxbury and North Dorchester are highly
noticeable hotspots (Backus, Terrell, Wool, Straubel, 2012, p. 23). For the purpose
of this paper, the main focus will be on asthma cases in

Canadian Kennel Club Classification
Standard Poodle Canadian Kennel Club classification The standard poodle is in
the non sporting dogs classification. Origin (country) The poodle breed has been

where the poodle originated but no one knows for sure its true country of origin.
France took the claim of origin and that is why some people know them as French
poodles. However, the AKC (American kennel club) states that Germany is the
country of origin where the dog was used for water retrieval. Use Poodles are very

There are two types of coat quality for poodles they are either curly or corded.
Curly poodles have a dense natural coat texture that can also be frizzy. Corded
poodles have their hair hanging in tight even cords of different lengths. The classic
poodle hair cut was designed by hunters to help the dogs swim more efficiently.
The hair left on the poodle was to keep the joints warm and protect them from
sharp reeds. Poodles come in a variety of solid colours. Blues, greys, silvers,
browns, cafГ© au laits, apricots and creams. The coat could show varying shades
of the same colour. Distinctive characteristics The standard poodle hair cut is one
of the most distinctive characteristics of the breed if they are cut that way. If the
poodle is not cut it will have very curly hair all over. They are one solid colour, their
coat is very thick and they do not

Dirt Bikes Comparison
Street motorcycles and dirt bikes are not created equal. There are important
differences to recognize between street motorcycles and dirt bikes. They are both
two wheeled vehicles but are designed and intended for different purposes. Although,
street motorcycles and dirt bikes can seem very similar they have some major
differences that affect their riding styles. Street motorcycles and dirt bike are
designed for different environments you can tell from the differences in the build
what terrain each is made for.
Environments that street bikes and dirt bikes are made for are very contrasting. A
street motorcycle is made for smooth or mostly smooth terrain like paved roads,
highways, and some gravel roads. The terrain a dirt bike is made for is ... Show more

A street motorcycle usually has a larger frame and it is heavy and metal. The
frame of a dirt bike is typically lighter and smaller because it uses mostly hard
plastic with minimal metal. The street motorcycles larger heavier frame offers
more stability to the rider and the dirt bikes smaller lighter frame offers more
agility. Dirt bikes also go off jumps so a lighter frame is better. Street motorcycle
and dirt bikes are not equipped with the same suspension. The suspension on a
street motorcycle is stiffer than the suspension of a dirt bike. The suspension on a
street motorcycle is limited because it is made for a heavy bike on smooth roads
not taking much impact, enough to give a smooth ride but not enough to take the
jumps that a dirt bike would. On a dirt bike, the suspension is not as stiff and is
very good at taking impact as it is made to absorb the shock of the bike going over
rough trails and jumps. The tires of street motorcycles and dirt bikes are designed
for different environments. Street motorcycles have less aggressive, slick, and
wide tires. The slicker and wider tires of a street motorcycle provide more traction
and stability on the smooth pavement they are made for. Dirt bikes have a more
aggressive tire design as they are narrower and have knobs. The narrower and
knobby dirt bike tire give traction and make maneuvering through loose dirt and sand
House Of Chan Artifact Essay
My first artifact is the House of Chan s menu. I chose this because I love food and
the idea of early types of food in the 1800 till now fascinates me mostly its price.
The menu was made when the restaurant was built in 1957. The building was
founded by Irv Howard and is located at Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue West,
which sadly closed, but they built a new one on 514 Eglinton Ave and Penny Lyons
later on. The menu show the prices of the foodin which they were selling. The prices
are so amazing that with just 10$ I can eat my breakfast lunch and dinner and still
have some cash left. When the first House of Chan was built it was around the time
of the Vietnam War when America was fighting Vietnam to stop communist from
spreading. What shock me the most was that even when China were communist
people still accept their food and there culture. In one of website that I read Mr.
Howard knew how to run a room but with the amount of hate against the war I can t
imagine how he could have run the place. Also during the time rock roll was a
popular thing and Elvis Presley the king of rock... Show more content on

even when they are afraid that the Chinese were going to overpopulate the area they

Speech On Turning The Other Cheek
In this world people are faced with the most difficult decision of doing the right
thing even when it could mean being hurt again and again. Teachers, mentors,
pastors, and psychologist have studied the topic of turning the other cheek . Is it
right to offer forgiveness to a situation even if the situation is not solved properly?
The debate goes on and on but, the one thing people should realize is that even if the
situation is looking bad their is always some goodthat can come out of it. A scholar
by the name of Kent M.Keith once wrote , People really needhelp but may attack you
if you do help them.Help people anyway.Give the world the best you have and you ll
get kicked in the teeth.Give the world the best you have anyway. While analyzing this
quote further, I have found that in any bad situation there still is room for
improvement by implementing a sense of kindness and compassion for the situation
at hand.
For example, I work at a home improvement store called The Home Depot. In Home
Depot you are sure to find a good day and a bad day. Customers come to The Home
Depot looking for an item as well as good customer service. As being a cashier, my
first priority is to make sure that every customer is properly taken care of on their
way into the building and when you re leaving out the building. If the customer
doesn t feel like they re being taken care of it can get very disappointing very quickly.
While at work I try and stay as positive as I can so that each

The celebration party our company held for our staff and clients got out of control
and our hired bouncer surpassed the terms of his contract. The bouncer at our party
was a work for hire employee, making him work on behalf of Entertainment 720

agreement we had made with him, which had caused the crashers to sue our
company. Under Respondeat Superior, an employer is liable for the torts committed
by an employee acting within the scopes of their employer. We had hired this
bouncer to keep any uninvited guests out and ensure safety for the party. Although
we had instructed the bouncer not to use brute force, we will most likely be found
liable for his actions. It would be considered a battery tort because there was no
threat, just assault of the individual. Employment status does not matter in this case
because they were working on behalf of our company, and even if the bouncer felt
threatened he should not have beaten up the crasher. Next time we will hire part time
policemen or well known and trustworthy bouncers to keep our party safe and the
attendees in order. Our company unfortunately rushed into an agreement to buy a
warehouse from another company going out of business. Without knowing prior to
the purchase, the previous company had been responsible for environmental spills at
the warehouse, which we are now being held accountable for. Virginia is a buy or

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Trinitrotoluene
TNT is more accurately known as Trinitrotoluene (more specifically 2,4,6
trinitrotoluene), a Class A explosive. Its molecular formula is C7H5N3O6 OR
C6H2(CH3)(NO2)3 OR C6H2(NO2)3CH3. This compound includes the elements
Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and Oxygen, notably 37.0% Carbon, 2.2%
Hydrogen, 18.5% Nitrogen, and 42.3% Oxygen. It is an explosive chemical (a
combustible solid) with toxic and hazardous effects. Commonly experienced
symptoms due to exposure mainly include headaches, weakness, anemia, liver
injury, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dermatitis, cyanosis, toxic hepatitis, etc. It s an
incredibly hazardous explosive, considering it is absorbed by the skin, its vapors
are toxic, toxic fumes are released when decomposed due to high temperatures, and
it detonates under excessive shock or heat. Physically, TNT is a colorless or pale
yellow and odorless solid or crushed flake, and it is synthetic (does not occur
naturally on Earth). It has a molecular weight of 227.132 g/mol, hydrogen donor
count of 0, hydrogen acceptor count of 6, relatable bond count of 0, complexity of
292, topological polar surface of 138 A^2, mass of 227.018 g/mol, heavy atom
count of 16, covalently bonded unit count of 1, and formal charge of 0. Its structural
shape changes. Its boiling point (point at which it explodes) is 464Вє F (240 deg C)
at 760 mmHg. It is also insoluble, but has a few exceptions. At 18 deg C, it is soluble
in the following solvents: chloroform, ether, and carbon tetrachloride.
Telekinesis Theory
Telekinesis Theory
We all know that we use some of our psychic potential sometimes........but we also
know that few or none of ever use it all. Have you ever just known that something
was going to happen? Have you ever had a sense as to whether a person you have
just met is of a good or bad character? These perceptions are simple everyday
examples of your unintentional usage of underlying psychic power. So, what if you
could focus this power to manipulate the world around you?
We know through science and physics that physical energyis created by
electromagnetic impulses, and that the electromagnetic and vibratory fields of an
individual or object are affected by the electromagnetic and vibratory fields of other
individuals or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having said all that, the rest of this section is intended to help raise awareness of our
innate telekinetic abilities, with some simple exercises you can do for practice.
Obviously, you should educate yourself in important overlapping areas, such as
meditation, and keep a positive attitude no matter how long it takes.
Meditation
Meditating is easy. Anyone can do it. Theres many techniques and if you know one
that I am not covering here, feel free to edit this article and add it. In the first
technique, Ill cover the basics. Just sit and breathe.
Thats right. Breathe... inhale, exhale. You are sitting, you are thinking of
practically nothing except your inhaling exhaling. Now, concentrate. This is best
done somewhere you like. The objective of meditation is to imagine. Image what
you like to accomplish. You can increase your willpower through meditation.
Better yet, visualize yourself whatever you want to accomplish in life. Think about
it over and over again. What are you doing? What does success look like? Picture it
with as many details as possible. I am going to leave this article up to this point. If
you have some time, feel free to edit it. Another method is to relax starting with
your fingertips and toes, work your way up to you arms and legs etc. Then relax
your chest and stomach, then your head. You should be in a state of rest. I had best
results when I was sitting cross legged on a soft mat with my eyes closed. Try rolling
back your eyes

Essays Describing Yourself.pdf

  • 1. Essays Describing Yourself Crafting an essay on the topic of "Essays Describing Yourself" is an intricate endeavor that demands a delicate balance between self-expression and objectivity. The difficulty lies in navigating the fine line between humility and self-promotion, capturing the essence of one's identity without veering into either excessive modesty or boastfulness. Describing oneself in writing requires a keen introspective gaze, an ability to identify and articulate personal strengths, weaknesses, and unique qualities. It's a challenge to strike the right tone, as too much self-praise can come across as arrogant, while underselling oneself may not effectively convey the depth of one's character. Moreover, the task involves choosing the most pertinent aspects of one's life, experiences, and attributes to showcase, presenting a cohesive narrative that is both engaging and authentic. Balancing the personal and the universal, making the essay relatable to a diverse audience, adds another layer of complexity. The challenge intensifies as you try to transcend clichГ©s and avoid generic statements, ensuring that your essay stands out amid a sea of similar self-descriptions. The writer must delve into their past, present, and future aspirations, illustrating how these elements intertwine to shape their identity. Furthermore, maintaining a coherent structure and flow is crucial to keep the reader's attention and convey a sense of purpose. The struggle to encapsulate the multidimensional nature of one's self within the confines of an essay can be both intellectually and emotionally demanding. In conclusion, crafting an essay on the theme of self-description demands finesse, introspection, and an acute awareness of one's audience. It is a task that requires not only writing skill but also a deep understanding of oneself. The difficulty lies not just in narrating personal experiences but in weaving them together into a tapestry that resonates with others. • 2. Analysis Of The Reader A Small Place Maddie Wiersma Dr. Nicole Sheets EL 347: Creative Nonfiction 11 November 2015 The Reader as You Jamaica Kincaid immerses the reader into her essay A Small Place through the use of second person point of view, continually referring to the reader as you. She characterizes the reader as a tourist from a privileged Western nation and narrates the experiences and thoughts of the reader while visiting Antigua for the first time. By portraying the reader as the tourist through second person narrative, Kincaid criticizes the ignorance of Eurocentric assumptions, as well as the total superficiality of Western tourism. Ultimately, this technique allows her to capture her disdain for Eurocentrism, alienating the reader from Antiguan culture. In the first sentence of the essay, Kincaid promptly employs second person narrative by addressing the reader, If you go to Antigua as a tourist, this is what you will see (257). Immediately, Kincaid invites the reader into the essay, provoking the audience to imagine themselves as tourists. The reader can relate to the tourist and can identify with the excitement of traveling to a place where the sun always shines and the climate is deliciously hot and dry for the four to ten days you are going to be staying there... (257). However, Kincaid then confronts the reader with the problems inherent in this egocentric way of thinking. She proceeds to call out the reader s ignorance about the climate: since you are a tourist, the thought of what

Renting and Netflix Netflix Case Analysis Competition and Strategy January 31, 2006 This case represents an analysis of the DVD rental business and specifically how Netflix positioned itself in the market and the direction of the industry as a whole. Several tools were utilized to help analyze Netflix. Case facts were considered in addition to possible future strategy in relation to market position. Introduction Netflix was founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings who is the current CEO of the company. Mr. Hastings has experience with the birthing of a startup company in his venture with Pure Software, which he founded in 1991. As the world s largest retailer, with $244.5 billion in sales (in the fiscal year ending Jan 31, 2003), more than 1.3 million associates worldwide through more than 3200 facilities in the US 1100 abroad. Wal Mart developed a rental program almost identical to that of Netflix, through walmart.com. Even the envelopes and movie selections were similar to Netflix s. However, it was estimated to only accumulate 1/5 the number of subscribers as Netflix by the end of the first year. In addition, it only had 7 distribution centers compared to Netflix s 15. Wal Mart did plan to open more centers at other facilities in the future. Wal Mart was still debugging its online software, where Netflix had already spent years debugging its software. Movie Gallery Movie Gallery started in southern Alabama and Florida. It grew through the acquisition of various mom and pop video stores and then video chains throughout the Southeast. It continued expanding through this aggressive approach until it reached 1678 stores in 42 states and five Canadian provinces. It did not have an online program, but it was not expected to be far away. Walt Disney s Movies On Demand Movies on demand eliminated having to wait at least one day to receive the movie. Walt Disney was offering one such service, called MovieBeam. There was a monthly equipment service fee of $6.99 and a viewing fee of $3.99 ($2.49 for older titles). The
  • 4. First Person Narration In Boyle s Greasy Lake Greasy Lake s first person narration exhibits and immediate emotional effect on its readers; Charters explains first person narration tells the story from his or her own accounts or perspective. Secondly, it is further stated the first person narrator is only able to tell the direct action of what s taking place or his/her own ability top mentally process what is taking place (1793). Similarly we can see in the beginning of the story on how he is setting the tone of a 1st person narration through a reminiscent tone of the past. Boyle uses of past tense words such as when, were and then at the beginning of the story gives us an account of sitting in the room with this character being told story before our very eyes. Furthermore the opening sentence is a powerful way to set the narration There was a time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This change from the narrator s perspective of his past to actual accounts in a specific point of his past in the story is absolutely brilliant. From this point, the narrator takes his exquisite descriptions of his perception of the era when he was as a late teenager to a descriptive detailed moment for moment account of the single night. Furthermore, the narrator s description of the fight between his self and the greasy character highlights some of these points. For example, Like a fool, I d gone down on one knee to comb the stiff hacked grass for the keys, my mind making connections in the most dragged out, testudineous way then to end that sentence he said the lost key was my grail to salvations (Boyle 166). This action that he is describing is very detailed from a 1st person narrator and that this narrator can be considered reliable. Also, with this amount of description and firsthand account makes him a major character in The Greasy
  • 5. Deprivation Account Of Death Analysis How does the deprivation account deal with this? According to the deprivation account, death can be a misfortune for you if it deprives you of the good things you would have otherwise experienced. Similarly, death can be good for you if your life is not worth living any more. Thus, the deprivation account captures a fundamental intuition about life and death: the value of death depends on what life had in store for you had you not died at that moment. The deprivation account evaluates the badness of death quantifying the amount of welfare loss that the death inflicts on the victim. This evaluation is based on a comparison between two possible well being levels of the person: the well being level in the person s life until the time of death to the well being level of the possible life he could have had. If the value of the comparison is negative, this is, if death makes the well being level lower that it would have been otherwise, death is a misfortune for the person. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But, how do we do this comparison when one of the terms of the comparison does not exist? How can we compare both situations? Philosophers talk sometimes in terms of counterfactuals, or possible worlds (cit needed). It is possible to imagine a world equal to ours in every respect apart from Carol s death. In one world Carol dies tomorrow, in the other relevant (for our purposes) possible world Carol dies a month from today, whilst all the rest of the characteristics of the world remain constant (we refer to his as the closest possible world). The difference in value between the two worlds is the value of Carol s
  • 6. Thermodynamics Lab Report The Thermos and Thermodynamics Physics around Campus Phoebe Seaver Physics 102 Spring 2017 In the photo, we see two coffee cups, one that is in an insulated thermos with a lid, and one that is a regular mug open to the air, on a college student s desk at home during their finals studying. It is well known that as coffee sits in any container, it cools down towards room temperature, making it less tasty to drink once it gets lukewarm or even room temperature. However, if it is too hot, it can burn the drinkers tongue and throat, which is incredibly painful, speaking from experience. The rate at which coffee cools may not seem like a science, but in fact, this plays into the laws of thermodynamics that are present in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Often, energy is lost to the surroundings, and not directly transferred from one object to the other. However, a perfect thermos would prevent any heatfrom leaking out or in. Energy in the form of heat can flow between materials inside the thermos to the extent that they have different temperatures; for example, between ice cubes and warm coffee. The transfer of energy continues until a common temperature is reached at thermal equilibrium (Cutnell 2014). Thermal equilibrium occurs when there is no heat flow between two materials, making them essentially the same temperature. This is why the coffee continues to cool down the longer it is exposed to the air, because heat exchange is occurring, and the liquid is cooling down from its original warmth to be more like the room that is it in, as the room has less heat. This is why a thermos causes the coffee to cool down slower, because the thermos provides insulation against the exchange of heat from the outside. The extra insulating layer is actually a vacuum, or absence of air, formed during the construction of the thermos. The best insulator possible is a vacuum, because there s no air. If there s no air to transfer heat, then the heat is retained where it is (wonderopolis.org). The equation for Specific Heat: . In order to cool down a standard 8oz cup of coffee to room
  • 7. Investigation Of A Coil Gun Abstract: The task of this assignment is to evaluate the of a coil gun using the variables of number of rapes of coil and the distance the projectile will travel. Then will evaluate and investigate the physics behind the gun. Aim: The purpose of this investigation the efficiency of a coil gun using the relationship between the number of coils and the distance the projectile travelled. Hypothesis: In this investigation there is a relationship between the number of coils and the distance the projectile travelled. Therefore the more coils the further the projectiles will travel (cm). Prediction: As more coils are wrapped around the gun, the distance of the projectile will increase. Literature Review: Coil gun A coilgun (aka gun Gauss, Gauss Gauss cannon or rifle) is a type of gun that uses a series of electromagnets for magnetically accelerate a projectile at high speed. The name Gauss gun comes from Carl Friedrich Gauss, who formulated the mathematical proofs of the electromagnetic effect used by Gauss cannons. The Gauss cannons are often called wrongly railguns from various sources, and while they are similar in general concept (ie, a magnetic weapon), differ in operation, since a railgun accelerates the missiles on two rails parallel conductors. The Gauss cannons are in substance identical to the projector mass, albeit on a smaller scale. Kristian Birkeland is commonly considered the inventor of the electromagnetic cannon Gauss, by which he obtained a patent

The circus owners would use scientific language to display their performers and sometimes included writing that depicted the performer s physical condition and explained their scientific importance. Freakshow postcards were also used and very popular, such as Lavinia Warren who printed 50 000 images of herself which were sold to an audience for profit. • 9. Metaphor Essay Metaphor A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable. Metaphors are one of the most common figures of speech found in literature. Not to be confused with similes; metaphors differ by not using words such as like or as in the comparing process. If you use them correctly, they can make visualizing and understanding a cake walk for readers. Metaphors aren t just used sentence by sentence. Sometimes whole paragraphs, stanzas, and even entire works of literature are metaphors. These are called extended metaphors Examples of extended metaphors can be found in Romeo and Juliet where Romeo creates a trend of comparing Juliet to the sun saying things such as But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the sun! Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, Who is already sick and pale with grief. , The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost is just an elaborate metaphor about life and not following what everyone else does to create a more authentic life for yourself, and in mother to son by Langston Hughes which compares a rough staircase to life and its challenges. Metaphors can be found everywhere using all different kinds of forms and lengths. During the puritan era it was common for writers to use religious metaphors. Whether the metaphor only lasted one line or engulfed the entire body of work, almost every story or poem referenced Christianity. Some of

A few female famous artists today can explain how this became a stereotype and made this an impossible career pathway. Even though these stereotypes are partially ruining the careers of potential young talented female rappers, there are some artists who are not contributing to the cause. Therefore, this research presents the summary, the biocultural phenomenon, and the real world implications of Gattaca (1997) movie. Media Summary The film, Gattaca (1997) is set shortly where genetically conceived babies are preferred to those that are born naturally. The main characters in this film include Vincent Jerome, Eugene, Irene, Director Josef, Detective Hugo, and Anton. Vincent Freeman is among the last children to be naturally conceived. After his birth, the physicians tell his parents of his many limitations, in particular, that his lifespan is estimated to be 30.2 years (Niccol, 2015). Vincent decides to travel to the stars. However, he is categorized by the society as not suitable regarding his genetic composition, and he has turned out to be among the discriminated humans who are only offered menial careers. To proceed with his mission, he assumes Jerome Morrow s identity since the latter had a perfect genetic composition and was paraplegic due to his involvement in a car accident. Vincent manages to deceive the urine and DNA sample testing after following a professional advice. However, his mission becomes jeopardized when his program director is murdered, and a fresh investigation is tabled. Biocultural Phenomenon In the near future, when the idea of genetic engineering is common among humans, and the DNA plays an integral part in identifying one s social class, Vincent is conceived and born naturally without the assistance of genetic engineering technologies. He suffers from the almost eliminated physical deformations of congenital heart disease and myopia, and

  • 15. Analysis Of Plato s Apology On The Man Of Save The Day,... The Man to Save the Day, but not Himself An Analysis of Plato s Apology Socrates, painted as a humble man who never had any of his own writings, and often speculated to be illiterate, is considered one of the major partisans of Western philosophy. Western philosophy is the philosophical thought of the western world. This idea proves to be quite accurate when considering Plato s Apology, the apology of Socrates which is not really considered an apology but a defense. In the ancient Greek era, the word apology meant to defend one s actions and explain why they were done, rather than apology and take ownership of the actions done. In Plato s account of Socrates apology, Socrates appears to be an innocent old man who is full of unrecognized wisdom, a man who is victimized by the society, the court, and the politicians of that time. This victimization stems from the insecurities of the attackers. Socrates was an advocate of tending to the needs of the soul, above all else, and this idea was despised by the people who criticized him because the idea itself convicted them, caused them to appear as wrong. Socrates actions, in which he sat in the center of Athens speaking to the youth and cross examining the arrogant, and these ideas which he displayed to the public are what initially got him into the mess of being on trial. Socrates is eventually sentenced to death, and in this happening is considered a martyr, similar to Jesus Christ. As the ideas above portray, Socrates was a

However, as the disease progress, bleeding from the inside is noticeable through stool, coughing up blood, bleeding from the eyes and ears. Unfortunately, there is no treatment for this deadly infection and usually involves treating the symptoms as they appear. Nursing interventions are a major part in treating the patient and possible survival from this disease. Priority nursing interventions include, watching for any changes in the patient s respiration rate and pattern, monitor the patient s fluid and electrolyte imbalance, intake and output. Bradford Assay On Unknown Concentrations Of Proteins Bradford Assay on Unknown Concentrations of Proteins Taylor Coleman September 27, 2016 Lab Group 3 BIOL 1111: General Biology Lab Fall 2015 Section 107 Chad Perry Abstract Colorimetric assay is a process of determining a concentration of a solution based on absorbance of light. The purpose of this lab is to determine if the Bradford assay is an accurate way to determine an unknown concentration of two samples of protein. The Bradford assay is done by measuring wavelength of light passing through a cuvette filled with Bradford dye and concentrations of PBS and proteins. After the cuvettes are mixed they are placed into a spectrophotometer to measure wavelength. The wavelength given will be used to plot a standard curve based on concentration (x axis) and wavelength (y axis). The standard curve is then used to measure an educated guess on the concentrations of unknown protein concentrations. We hypothesized that if we use the Bradford assay and colorimetric spectrophotometry we can determine an accurate concentration of two unknown concentrations of proteins. The results of this lab failed to reject our hypothesis based on accurate measurements of protein concentrations. The standard curves are drawn with a linear increasing slope. The Bradford assay is an accurate way to demine the concentration of an unknown concentration. This paper will explore the social, economic and environmental characteristics for entrepreneurship in the Olusosun rubbish dump as depicted in the movie welcome to Lagos. (LINES OF EXPLORATION???????) Nigeria faces vast inequality with a gini coefficient standing at 48. 8 (United Nations Development Programme, 2013). Lagos is home to the largest slum in the country, which is Ajungle. Nearly thirty kilometers away from the cities largest slum is a landfill where nearly 1000 people live and work. Despite being characterized as scavengers of garbage, they are actually entrepreneurs. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A beneficial inequality represented in the documentary as well as in the papers is that there is no child labor within the dump. All workers are of sixteen years of age or older (Adepegba and Ogunrinola, 2012). This documentary also takes a look on how the poor peoples actions are all represented as one, and how for the most part they are socially unaccepted by others who live in Lagos. The people in the dump are ones to be blamed for social inequality. The majority of the people in the dump are there to make a business. In order to stay in business they have to stay out of the public s eye. When one of the main characters in the documentary got arrested, the situation threatened the whole dump. The reckless behavior of one man was portrayed throughout the thousands of other people working in the dump as being incompetent and troublemakers of society (Nwoye, n.d). Environmentally, the Olusosun rubbish dump is a place for its inhabitants to thrive. It is where they live and it is also where they get all of their resources to sustain their businesses. By the end of the documentary you get the sense that it is a good place for these people to live. The film does show how they face many challenges in the dump such as fires, which can suspend their sales between days and weeks. This film fails to recognize how these challenges and some of the practices these people use to get their product prepared for sale actually cause harm to their lives and others who

  • 35. Nature Of Control And Its Effects On The Way Individuals... Research has shown that there is significant variability in the way individuals perceive and interpret events. Frequently, individuals encounter and are exposed to situations in their environment where causation tends to be subjectively inferred. Due to these instances where one is able to nonchalantly assume the causality between certain events or situations that occur, gives rise to the phenomenon of illusory control. Langer (1975) introduced the concept illusion of control as the expectancy of a personal success probability which is inappropriately higher than the objective probability would warrant. Even though the objective odds are evident, the remaining subjective expectation of success is thought to be dependent on factors... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Previous research has suggested that there are certain individuals who are more prone to an illusion of control than others (e.g. Alloy Abramson, 1979; Biner et al., 1995; Delfabbro LeCouteur, 2009; Friedland et al., 1991; Langer, 1975; Rudski, 2004). Rotter (1966) proposed that ones locus of control, which refers to an individual s generalised expectancy of success based on their previous experience, will influence ones predisposition to illusory control. However, the issue with this notion is the reliance on multiple forms of perception at once, and it is likely individuals will differ in these each of these aspects (e.g. personal, social and political beliefs). Therefore, to understand and measure how beliefs about events occur in the world while considering these differences, application of scales measuring principles like superstitions (Matute, 1995; Wiseman Watt, 2004), paranormal beliefs (Peters et al. 1999) luck, chance and how these might impact activities like gambling (Friedland et al., 1991; Wood Clapham 2005), will be valuable. Therefore, it is evident that certain individuals appear more inclined to make connections from

Theme Of Honor In Chronicle Of A Death Foretold IB English A: Literature HL Written Assignment Word Count: 1,277 An Investigation into Honor in Chronicle of a Death Foretold According to Epic World History, Latin American men consider honor both a prized personal possession and a crucially important expression of one s public self ( Epic World History ). To lose one s honor was to become low and tarnished in society s eyes. Chronicle of a Death Foretold tells a story of horrific murder driven by the loss of honor through a journalistic view. In the novella, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, through the actions and thoughts of the Vicario brothers and townspeople, Gabriel GarcГa Marquez highlights the absurdity of the code of honor and critiques the flaws in Latin American society. With the defensive actions of the Vicario brothers, Marquez scrutinizes how Latin American society uses the code of honor as a justification for vengeful acts. Following the crime, the Vicario brothers speak on trial, defending their innocence: It was a matter of honour (29). Marquez uses the self justifying tone of the phrase matter of honor to criticize that within Latin American society, people do not falter to commit such heinous crimes, and perceive such acts as ways to regain honor. The Vicario brother s justification of homicide therefore reflects the society s twisted perception of honor. The Vicario s brother s self reassurance is also conveyed through the numerous times they announced, We are going to kill Santiago Nasar

The purpose of this experiment is to determine what solvent works the best at separating the different pigments of the paprika extract. The solvents used to develop the plate are hexane and methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE), as well as three mixtures of the two solutions (5% MTBE in hexane, 10% MTBE in hexane, and 30% MTBE in hexane). Hexane is a non polar alkane that is used as a solvent for many different things and MTBE is a polar ether that is used as a fuel additive. In this experiment, five TLC plates were set up and ran in each of the five prepared solvents. There are four steps when performing TLC which include: spot (touch the capillary to the plate briefly so the compound runs out and forms a small spot on the plate), develop (choose a solvent to develop the plate, then place the slide in the developing chamber), visualize (when the solvent reaches the stop line, remove and visualize the data), and calculate (measure the distance between the spot and start line to calculate the Rf values). The Keiserschlacht or Emperor s Battle In 1914, General Erich Ludendorff, Germany s key commander in World War I, along with General Paul von Hindenburg, strategically placed the German Army in a series of three 25 mile trenches in central France. This new position gave the German s a false sense of security, which led them to believe that they would win World War I. At first, the onslaught and brute force of the offensive proved itself well. The Kaiserschlacht, or Emperor s Battle, quickly turned around due to lack of supplies and heavy casualties. Since the Central Powers were becoming more confident, they made more mistakes and thus began losing battles and eventually the war. Greater numbers and strength of the Allied Powers ultimately led to the slaughter and defeat of the Germans under Generals Ludendorff and Hindenburg. Germany had the chance to end the war before the resources from the United States could be deployed into France and Britain. In an advantage by numbers, fearless leader Ludendorff set off to gain land for Germany and defeat the Allied powers once and for all. The Germans knew that they had to conquer Europe before the Americans could train soldiers and ship men and supplies to the front lines. The addition of Americans to the Allied Powers would significantly impact the outcome of the war. Germany still believed that they could win the war. • 42. Existentialism By Frank Kafk Isolation And Desperation Existentialism can be defined in a multitude of forms. Frank Kafka was a prominent, influential German language writer of novels and short stories; one of which includes The Metamorphosis. His distinguishing philosophy of existentialism consists of two main concepts: isolation and desperation. The notion of alienation is a fundamental theme that is condensed throughout the short story. Gregor Samsa, main character and protagonist of The Metamorphosis, goes through a complete physical transfiguration that establishes the principle framework of the novel. In addition to Gregor s metamorphosis, Kafka s existentialism is enforced to Gregor s death, family figures, job conditions, and the weather conditions. Kafka s ideology suggests that one knows that death is inevitable; one must cease to exist. Gregor s physical transformation into an insect alienated him from himself, his own species, and his own families. When Gregor Samsa woke up one morning from unsettling dreams, he found himself changed in his bed into a monstrous vermin (Kafka, Pg 4). Not once did Gregor question or panic about his physical change. Despite his indifference state of mind about his appearance, he emerges to be more distressed in terms of not attending work on time rather than his impulsive alteration. Gregor has failed to develop a sense of individuality and lack of humanity. By the appellation vermin, linguistic usage designates the lowest form of human self contempt. Seeing himself as vermin,
