The Perceptions Of Professionals On The Traumatic Event...
The study was conducted to determine from the perceptions of professionals on whether life
experiences or becoming homeless was the traumatic event that triggered (PTSD) posttraumatic stress
disorder amid the homeless adolescent population of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, North
Carolina. Participants included 12 professionals with experience of working with homeless
adolescents ages 13 18. A questionnaire was utilized for 14 participants to gather the information for
the study, which had an 85.7% response rate. The results did not determine whether it was life
experiences or becoming homeless that was the traumatic event that triggered the development of
PTSD amid the homeless adolescent population in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. However, the
study did yield a PTSD issue within the population and a lack of service providers for homeless
adolescents. The study revealed a need to further research the issue to identify the actual scope of the
problem and to implement services to help address the issue of PTSD among the population.

The Leadership And Administration Of The Brigade
The 4th ABCT used to be one of the best Brigades in the Division. A dedication to its mission and
competition coupled with a family environment and a decent leadership used to characterize the
Brigade before its deployment into Afghanistan. The inefficient leadership, along with stressful
situations the ABCT went through in Afghanistan had a negative impact on the Brigade
administration, with a severe impact on personnel stress, discontent, professionalism, indiscipline both
on officers, Non Commissioned officers and soldiers. This situation has had negative consequences
that the Commander, LTC Cutler, was unable to realize it for redress. The lack of command and
control, direction and guidance made that these issues continued and worsened. Considering the extent
of issues prevailing in the Brigade, there is a need for changes that would revamp both the leadership
and administration of the Brigade. The present paper shall discuss ways to achieve the needed
changes, ensure continuity of culture and climate, develop an ethical organization that prevents sexual
harassment in the 4th ABCT and create the Brigade vision. Based on ethical issues that the Brigade is
currently facing, the first step will consist of bringing in the needed organizational changes. According
to an assessment made by LTC Pete Owens, the new Brigade Commander, all the problems mentioned
above were caused by a bad leadership that failed to ensure an ethical organization and a focus on the
mission. LTC

27, 1852, Marylebone, London), English mathematician, an associate of Charles Babbage, for whose
prototype of a digital computer she created a program. She has been called the first computer

who legally separated two months after her birth. Her father then left Britain forever, and his daughter
never knew him personally. She was educated privately by tutors and then self educated but was

Analysis Of Lord Of The Flies And Hunger Games By...
The concept of civil culture is one often glorified within society, yet its power depends wholly on the
ethical nature of those who uphold it. The novels, Lord of The Flies by William Golding and The
Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, demonstrate this prospect as through the narrative techniques of
characterisation, plot, setting and style, they exemplify the moral decline of man under pressure to
survive, ultimately resulting in savagery. Characterisation plays a major role in both texts as each
character serves as a representation humanity and the faults within it. Throughout Lord of the Flies
there is a developing inequality among the characters as social order is established based on the
strength and ability of each. Consequently the weakest of those characters are placed at the mercy of
the strongest, in essence giving them the power that motivates their transformation from well
mannered British boys to unrestrained savages. Likewise inequality is demonstrated to the same extent
within the Hunger Games as the weaker, less experienced tributes are hunted by the Careers , a pack
of brutal children who become natural and effective killers. Throughout both novels, the characters
place great significance on appearance, as how they are perceived by others factors into their survival.
In The Hunger Games a certain appearance wins the support of sponsors, who may well mean the
difference between life and death, If you appeal to the crowd,

Effective Communication Of The Brands Values, Personality...
The key factor to any organisation is the ability to attract and retain the best talent in the market. This
is essential if your business is among the high competitors were specialised skills are in high demand.
The following will demonstrate how through employer branding an organisation can strengthen their
relationship with both existing and potential employees. Also how effective communication of the
brands values, personality and culture may impact on the creation of a strong employer brand. A
company will be perceived on how it conducts itself in the market across the board to how the
potential employee imagines what it would be like to work for that organisation. An effective brand
would highlight all the positive aspects such as a good employer, great place to work, and at the same
time influencing recruitment retention. As a result of this a positive impression of your company will
be visible within the market sector. Effective communication and organisational skills, alongside
personality and culture can create a positive perception of good employer branding. Employees should
feel some kind of responsibility toward the organisations employer branding. The reflection of
employee s actions portrays an image of the company. Employees and management must believe in
the brand to fully engage in the organisation. Image perception if vital, if employees have a bad
attitude towards their position or the company people may presume the company is not a good place to

Eliot s Influences On Literature
Frederick Douglass and T.S. Eliot s Influences On Literature The nineteenth and twentieth century
were pivotal times in the world of literature. Many new elements of writing and style were evolving
and authors all over the world were finding ways to present what they felt most passionate about.
Some writers opened their readers up to newer ideas by the means of, as Ezra Pound once stated,
making it new. Two writers in particular who did a fantastic job of this were Frederick Douglass and
T.S. Eliot. Frederick Douglass s most popular work is his autobiography, The Narrative of the Life of
Frederick Douglass. In this story, Douglass makes romanticism new. On the contrast, T.S. Elliot is
widely known for his poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, in which he makes new of imagery.
While Frederick Douglass and T.S. Eliot come from completely different backgrounds and write with
different styles, they share a few commonalities as well as both being influences on literary society.
Frederick Douglass was born into slavery in Talbot County, Maryland around the supposed year of
1818. Like many other slaves, his exact date of birth remains unknown. Douglass was an abolitionist
for slavery as well as a supporter for women s rights. Due to his works and accomplishments, it is
obvious that Douglass was a major contributor to the literary tradition of American Romanticism.
After escaping slavery, Frederick Douglass wrote his most famous autobiography, The Narrative of
the Life of

Analysis Of The Pica Coffee Co. 2015 Annual Report
After reading the content for the Pica Coffee Co. 2015 Annual Report, their coffee was what resonated
with me. They go into great detail about how they grow and prepare their coffee, and how there s
nothing else like it. Which is why the concept is based off of their coffee.
The concept created for the report as a whole is: Pica coffee, and how good it really is. Like it says in
the text. Good coffee. Really, really good coffee.
To build on the concept, I thought it was important to incorporate coffee into the design as much as
possible. Which is why the whole report appears to have coffee stains throughout each page.
Signifying that their coffee is so good, that people just can t go without it; which is why there are

The Epidemic Of Ebola Virus
Children around the world fear the dark because they do not understand it. Much like a child s fear of
the dark, the panic caused by the Ebola virus is largely due to misunderstanding and is often blown out
of proportion. The Ebola virus is discussed in the media because it generates hysteria, even though it
is nowhere near as threatening as it is often claimed to be. Do not make the assumption that the virus
itself is not lethal, as indeed it is one of the deadlier pathogens in the world; however, a variety of
factors contribute to making the Ebola virus a less than perfect killer; in order to know why, it is
important to understand what exactly the Ebola virus is.
In the most basic sense, Ebola has RNA as its genetic material and belongs to the virus family
Filoviridae, the same family as the Marburg virus. According to Peters and Peters (1999), Marburg
virus was first discovered in 1967. It was the first virus of the Filoviridae family uncovered; Ebola
was the second, being discovered in 1976. Ebola was initially encountered in the Democratic Republic
of the Congo, where several outbreaks of Hemorrhagic Fever were documented. Teams sent to deal
with these outbreaks found an almost total cessation of transmission. Survivors, however, provided an
excellent source of data.
The survivors demonstrated that the reason for this cessation was that the virus had killed most of the
medical staff in affected areas. The hospitals in regions such as the Congo are often subpar,

Evaluation Of A Prototype Model
A prototype can be defined as a representative example of a given category [1]. A prototype model can
be viewed as a rudimentary working model of a product or information system, used to test or prove a
concept or a process. A prototype of an Information System can be viewed as a draft version of the
system that allows stakeholders to explore system features and test the overall system before
dedicating resources for the development of the full scale system.
Prototyping is an iterative process. A high level view of the process allows us to identify the following
4 steps that form the crux of the prototyping approach:
Figure 1: Prototype Design Process
1. Identify Content Based on the needs of the stakeholders, information is gathered about the features
that a system should possess.
2. Build Prototype Using the information, a prototype is then created to gain an understanding of the
system.
3. Review Prototype The prototype is reviewed for errors and flaws and suitability to the stakeholders
needs. If it does not align with the testing standards, the process is reiterated until a satisfactory model
is created.
4. Freeze Design Once all stakeholders and designers are satisfied, the prototype model is finalized
and no new changes are incorporated into the model.
1.1 Prototyping in Business Analysis
A prototype is an original model, form or an instance that serves as a basis for other processes.
Prototyping gives an opportunity to research new alternatives and

Martin Van Buchanan Analysis
I wanted to examine President Martin Van Buren and President James Buchanan, who were both
Democrats or of the Democratic Party.
These are the key similarities between President Martin Van Buren and President James Buchanan.
First is the offices they held. Both Presidents were in the United States Senate and were appointed
Ministers to foreign countries. Another key similarity is that they both only served one term. Another
one is that neither one of them oversaw a major war.
These are the key differences, between President Martin Van Buren and President James Buchanan.

James Buchanan who was minister to England an industrial power, and a big ... Show more content on

These are not perfect similarities or differences. At least in the way that someone could say that
Abraham Lincoln freed slaves or Thomas Jefferson owned them. There are two similarities with the
preceding statement. First, both of the Presidents tried to maintain the integrity of the union. The faster
your state expands the harder it is to maintain control and placing a nation under the support of those
who would advocate it be left intact is the lesser of two evils. The second way is that both of their
policies would have been in opposition to Southern Democrats. This is because Texas would have
entered the union a slave state and Southerners would have been opposed to anti slavery Northerners
holding office.
A few other thoughts I had about these men and their party was. This party iteration of the Democrat
seems to have more in common with the Democratic Republicans of the Jeffersonian era rather than
the Democrats around the time President Abraham Lincoln was elected. I reached this conclusion
because the Democrats of the time had a platform of free market economics ie. the use of gold as
currency, solvency and the opposition to state chartered federal

The Negative Effects Of Violent Role Playing Games
Picture this, you are running through the woods with your friends, a small water gun glued to your
hand. It is the best day ever. Except that you have a paper due tomorrow which you haven t started,
you are trespassing on someone s property, and you tripped on a log a few minutes before and hurt
your ankle. Teenagers are known for their rebellious and dangerous behavior. Although pulling stunts
and playing games may be fun they also need to consider the dangers and outcomes of these actions.
There is much controversy of whether or not violent role playing games are good or bad for people
including teenagers. There are many people who believe that the positive effects it has on people
outweigh the negative effects. However, there are also people that argue that the negative effects
outweigh the positive effects. Although violent role playing games seem fun and harmless they aren t
and are very dangerous, have many illegal aspects to them, and keep people that are playing them
unfocused on school or work.
There are many places where this game could be considered dangerous. One example of how this is a
dangerous game is in High Jinks: Shoot Out by Guy Martin. As Mr. Martin states hopped a neighbor s
fence and exited through a neighbor s house. This is a very dangerous action because when he hopped
over the fence he could have destroyed parts of his body if he fell incorrectly. Or scraped himself
when he was grabbing the fence. In addition, Guy Martin writes shot a boy

Your Brain On Video Games Summary
Would you believe that our generation is the dumbest? With technology controlling this generation,
this doesn t consider our generation to be dumb it would make us people to be lazy about their
education and not even try at all. Others would look at the bad side of our generation but the best way
would be looking at the good side of our generation. This generation has created many technologies to
help us going and can excess to anything. Writer Mark Bauerlein said Young Americans have much
more access and education than their parents did. Children of this generation has much more high
knowledge level than their parents because the technology has improved throughout the years. Roz
Chast has formed a cartoon called Shelved which showed a man sitting behind a massive self with lots
of books that has sad faces. He would only just go on this laptop start focusing on it. There would be

Abstract
It has been 9 years since Google entered China Market officially, and 5 years since Google established
Google China. Despite having a brand value of an amazing $66.4 billion, Google.cn still fails to
dominate the search engine market in mainland China and faces stiff competition from bitter rival
Baidu. In other words, Baidu s market share in China is nearly 75 percent to Google China s 25
percent. The secret to Baidu s success and Google s failure is largely positioning. Chinese authorities

Hence, Baidu.com is easier to remember than Google.cn.
Inability to control sensitive content. The Great Firewall is extremely sensitive when it comes to
pornography contents. The reason of blocking Google International is that netizens in China can
search pornography images via Google Images when the default setting of SafeSearch is off. In
contrast, Baidu has a strong filter to sieve out any unsuitable content that displeasure the Chinese
government. As a result, it s almost impossible to search any sensitive content on Baidu. Google failed
because government would not care about its position when all of us have to face the laws.
In China, consumers rely on blogs and other user generated consumer reporting when deciding what
to buy, mainly because they trust word of mouth much more than any blatant advertising campaign.
So it should come as no surprise that they re also very active participants, leaving more than twice the
amount of comments their peers elsewhere post.
The key issues and the lessons
China is a complicated market, more so with the media industry. The Chinese government retains far
more control over media, the press, and the internet than any other economy at a similarly developed
level.
Chinese internet users do not like to type, perhaps due to the fact that Mandarin has many thousands
of characters. They navigate almost entirely by using the mouse. This may look cluttered and
disorderly to an American, but it makes

Loss Of Innocence In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
In the short story Young Goodman Brown by Nathaniel Hawthorne the protagonist, Goodman Brown,
leaves his wife at home and journeys through a dark forest with the devil. As they move toward the

begins to realize that the people he once thought to be devoted to puritan religion are actually full of
sin. When Goodman Brown gets to the ceremony he sees almost everyone he knows from town
including his wife. Nathaniel Hawthorne uses the realizations of Goodman Brown to impart different

The Demographic Transition Theory
Unlike society a few decades before, the life expectancy has increased and now America is seeing an
exponential growth to the elderly population. There are many factors that could be the cause of this.
Looking at the demographic transition theory in conjunction with the Malthusian theory brought
valuable insight for me. The demographic theory says there are four stages to population growth that
are predictable. Those who are in their late 80 s and above were capable of seeing all four of these
stages in America. As they aged and the stages for population advanced so did technology. Malthusian
theory claims that there are three factors that prevents the human population exceed its carrying
capacity, which are food, disease, and war. Those who lived through the four stages of America were
lucky enough to see technology advance to prevent those factors in being lethal to our population. It
became possible for adults to live on to see their grandchildren and eventually their great
grandchildren. However, having life for so long isn t always the best. There s a quote from the movie
The Dark Knight which I believe applies to this situation, You either die a hero or live long enough to
see yourself become the villain. . This quote is evident in the film Living Old , because eventually you
reach an age where your body and mind regresses, which hurts your love ones. For example, in the
film Mary Ann DiBerardino daughter of Chester and Rosemary Haak has suffered seeing her parents

Behind the Zoo
What makes an object worth collecting? Curiosity is an important aspect of collecting. With the spread
of colonies, there was an affinity to discover the unknown, or rather, the different. The nineteenth
century paved the way for many sponsored expedition, looking for curios. Found object; vases, pots
and pans, tools of everyday use, gained an importance, as curios. Nature has captivated the human
cognizance since man first acquired tools, it would only be natural for the curiosity to extend to the
subject of new flora and fauna. By means of collecting it is possible to establish a personal identity or
characterize the other and often identifying this other as a conquest.
This idea of conquest can be analyzed in the manner in which collection is presented, making
presenting as important an aspect as the collection itself.
The oldest zoological collection was a transportable one which contained every known species,
however only two of each animal, one male and one female, collected by Noah as recounted in
Genesis. Not does Noah get credit for conceptualizing the zoo, but as highlighted by John Elsner and
Roger Cardinal s introduction in The Cultures of Collecting, he was also the first collector. Granted it
was under the request of a higher power, but in some way every collection emphasizes a purpose or
some secret desire. While we can choose to believe this to be true or not, the lesson to be taken here is
that collections can be thrust on its collector. Two of the

Egypt Expulsion Of The Hyksos
The Egyptians eventually dealt with the Hyksos through a campaign of attacks that displaced them
from Egypt. Seqenenre Tao II is originally thought to have commenced the Egyptian s battle for

Nefrusi and Avaris. However, Ahmose I completed the expulsion of the Hyksos through his likely use
of Hyksos weaponry to subjugate Avaris and Sharuhen. Thus, the Hyksos were displaced from Egypt

Seqenenre Tao II is believed to have initiated the campaign to expel the Hyksos. This is due to
Seqenenre s believed quarrel with the Hyksos king Apophis. However, this altercation is unsure to be

The Hyksos were then pursued to Sharuhen, where it also capitulated to Ahmose I. After this victory,
Ahmose I sought to attack Hyksos supporters, including rebels within Egypt and their Nubian

rivals. Thus, Ahmose I completed the expulsion of the Hyksos through his likely adoption of Hyksos

The Principles Of The Kingdom Of God
The Principles of the Kingdom of God are found abundantly within the text writings of the Gospels
and other books within the Bible. It is easy to see that the Kingdom of God came upon us when Jesus
walked the earth teaching, healing and preaching; doing the works of our Father, God Almighty. This
essay will attempt to bring to light methods which Jesus used to teach those around him and touch on
some of the aspects of the Kingdom of God. Robert Coleman (1993) listed the methods used by Jesus
as selection, association, impartation, delegation and reproduction. In this progressive teaching
method Jesus chose his disciples, associated with them and gave them a living example. He then set
them out to complete tasks based upon his teachings. This process was eventually restarted when the
disciples themselves chose students of their own.
The First Principle of the Kingdom of God The Kingdom is for the Jew first then the Gentile,
however; the Kingdom will be taken away and given to a people who will produce its fruit (Matthew
21:43). Perhaps the Kingdom will be taken away from the Jew and given to the Gentile to produce its
fruits, to preach the Gospel to the nations, to heal the sick and continue the works of the Father. It was
in the plan from the beginning that God used the Jewish nation as a blessing to the whole world in that
All nations will be blessed through you was an Abrahamic promise given when God called a people to

Literary Analysis Of Wild Thorns By Sahar Khalifeh
Wild Thorns by Sahar Khalifeh is an insightful commentary that brings to life the Palestinian struggle
under the Israeli Occupation and embodies this conflict through the different perspectives brought
forth by the contrasting characters. We are primarily shown this strife through the eyes of the principal
character, the expatriate Usama, as well as the foil character of his cousin, Adil. Khalifeh skillfully
uses literary devices such as emotive language, allusions and positive and negative connotations to
highlight life under the Occupation. As the audience, these techniques help encourage us to consider
the struggle more in depth, and due to the wide variety of characters, invite us to relate to them.

They loosed a dog on him that went for his genitals. Khalifeh deftly includes this grotesque imagery to
open our eyes to the common brutality they now endure in Palestine under the Israeli s and make us
aware of the barbarity of the situation. It evokes not only a sense of poignancy in us, but outrage as
well because his human decency has been violated with such nonchalance. As the audience, we grow
to sympathize with the conquered Palestinians and support Usama in his quest to reclaim freedom for
Palestine. As Khalifeh predominantly manifests the Palestinian struggle through the main character of
Usama, it gives the reader a very narrow minded view of the issues faced in Palestine. Once Usama
returns, he is disgusted to find streets filled with complacent Arabs who have accepted the Israeli rule
and workers who bought things greedily, ate well, dressed well. Greedy is an important and interesting
adjective the author uses to describe the people of Palestine, as it carries a very negative connotation
that describes the people with a naked and selfish ambition along with a voracious lust for riches and
wealth. Through this integration of greedy, as the audience we are averse to the Palestinian people and
empathize with Usama as he paints himself as the lone hero that will save Palestine. Through this
crude description of the Palestinians, we can see that in his eyes, they have traded and

The Dreaming Is A Way For Indigenous People
The dreaming
The Dreaming is a way for Indigenous people to understand the world through its creation and stories.
It was created a long time ago when creation began and a way for Indigenous people to express life
and what The Dreaming means to the Indigenous community.
(Stanner, 1958, p. 48)
The Dreaming can be described as Aboriginal creative epoch and each language group have their own
values and beliefs, and what associates with it. (Edwards, 1998, p.79). For example, Kamilaroi of

It is an act of creation and of many Aboriginal creation myths. (Edwards, 1998, p. 79).
The kinship
The kinship is a system that enables people to know precisely where they stand in relation to every
person and a group. It is the heart of Aboriginal culture, and controls all facets of social behaviours.
The Kinship system has been around for tens of thousands of years and is still used today. (Nations,
clans, family groups, 2016). It is a system that determines how people interact with others and how
people become related. Thus, controls who can get married and who supports who. Because there are
over 500 Aboriginal nations across Australia the system is helpful because it simplifies the different
clans and groups that share common kinship and language. (Nations, clans, family groups, 2016)
The Kamilaroi nation s kinship is based a lot around totems, that link between the spiritual world,
creation and the living world ( A Nations Identity Totems , n.d; para 1). Totems are a system that looks
at the community, how people work as a team, and the value of individual skill. (Totems, 2016). In a
way totems provide people with a sense of belonging in relationships between a person and group. In
Kamilaroi, totems allow individuals to understand their connection to the scared land. ( A nations

The Taming Of Samurai Summary
Eiko Ikegami is an academic writer who focuses on comparative historical sociology, specificially that
of Japanese society. Her book, The Taming of Samurai , explains us the underlying basis behind
Japanese organisational structure using the history of the samurai and Tokugawa state formation. This
book also demonstrates how such a risky imperious approach of enforcing a more hierarchical
structure to the population, especially samurai, would be quite a solution for the setbacks that
Tokugawa shogunate had faced to impose its honorific authority and a process that developed Japan s

Ikegami starts by summarising the background to the Battle of Sekigahara. She also adds that the

phenomena of survival of the fittest amongst the daimyō during Japanese medieval period. In addition

Bebe s Family
In this essay, Campbell discusses her experience being raised by African American women in her
family. Her father left when she was very young, leaving her to only her mother, grandmother, and
aunts.
Growing up, one thing instilled into Bebe was to make sure she acted proper, especially in public
around white people, as they didn t want her to be seen as another typical colored person . The women
in her family believed that if she acted right, she would be given a better and more equal opportunity
at an education as the white children.
One day, when Bebe acted out in class, her mother was called, but instead of being punished, her
mother was more embarrassed at the fact that she allowed other (white) kids to see her act that way.
Bebe went on to complain about how she wished she had a father figure in her life to punish her for
doing such things like the other kids had. In her mind, having a father figure symbolized stability and
normalcy in a family, which she didn t have, adding another thing to the list of differences she had
from the other students. She continued on to say that she didn t even care how her father would act or

I think the essay could be relatable to a lot of kids trying to find their own sense of normal in life.
While I think guidance is important in growing up and developing your own thoughts and ideas, I
think that being able to come up with your own idea of normalcy is more important for development.
If Bebe s mother wasn t so persistent in telling her how to act in public especially because she was
colored, I don t think Bebe would have felt such a strong feeling of anger toward her family situation
because she would have been able to build a stronger relationship with the

Characteristics Of Airasia Competitive Strategy
Competitive Strategy
Based on Porter 5 Forces(1980) diagram to build four prominent business strategy, cost leadership,
differentiation which can be combined to build the competitive strategy.
Figure 1
Cost leadership is one of the most common business strategies which refer to the organization s ability
to produce a product or service at a cost below competitors can achieve between AirAsia and other
airlines. However, the implementation of cost leadership strategies requires a consistent focus on
driving costs to generate profit margin. Instead of the offering lower cost price, customer also
considering the differentiation offered by AirAsia which they are willing to pay at any prices.
Choosing the differentiation and characteristics of the products and service recommended or method
in which it is delivered and developing organizational capabilities required to achieve the fundamental
difference is a big challenge for companies (Mohammad Sunman Sarker. 2013).
Presently, tough economy condition =s has enable AirAsia to attract new segment pf customers

Women In Euripides Greek Tragedy, Hippolytus
In Euripides Greek Tragedy, Hippolytus, he tells the familiar myth of a young man whose stepmother
falls in love with him. The female characters of Euripides are often nuanced with dualistic
characterizations. While Euripides may present Phaedra as noble for fighting her lustful urges, he
ultimately exposes her to the same petty nature as the very goddesses who inflict these desires on her.
All of the women in Hippolytus are viewed Eve like figures who lead men astray, despite their
intentions.
Greek mythology would have been widely known by Euripides audience and Phaedra s lineage is no
exception. Her mother, Paciphae, had slept with a bull and bore the Minotaur. The same Minotaur
Theseus would slay in the labyrinth. Her mother s monstrous sexual appetite taints Phaedra s family.
Phaedra s sister is also unlucky in romantic affairs as she is married to Dionysius. In other versions of
the Phaedra story, such as the Seneca play Phaedra; this ancestry is the key reason for her unnatural
attraction to her stepson. Nevertheless, even though Phaedra s desire is derived from Aphrodite and
she never acts upon it, her characterization is less favorable than the womanizer Theseus. Christian
theology often talks of the original sin in the Garden of Eden. While both Adam and Eve eat of the
fruit, it is Eve who offers the temptation to Adam. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, she is prepared to let herself die from starvation to save her reputation. This sacrifice and her
resilience make her much more sympathetic than a character like Potiphar s wife in the book of

However Phaedra is fighting her very being not to act on her desires, to the point that it is killing her.
Hippolytus sticks to his morals with such ease, highlighting Phaedra s desperate struggle despite her

screening test done which evaluates the function of a patient s intrinsic clotting system, the factors of
prothrombin and fibrinogen that are involved, as well as prekallikrein (PK) and high molecular weight
kininogen (HK). Additionally, Patient 2 s heparin anticoagulant therapy needed to be monitored;
heparin being an anticoagulant which is administered intravenously or by injection in order to treat

purpose of coagulation studies.
Blood collection procedures begin with the health practitioners, for example doctors, generating a

The 1918 Influenza Epidemic Essay
What would later become one of the deadliest plagues the world had ever seen started innocuously
enough in the spring of 1918 spreading through populations on both sides of the Atlantic. Remarkable
for its highly infectious nature, the spring strain was relatively non lethal, rarely killing infected
individuals (Kolata, 1999). Thus little more than average attention was paid to the precursor of a virus
that would eventually kill between twenty one and one hundred million individuals worldwide (Barry,
2004). Only after the fall wave of the 1918 influenza did it become a requirement to report cases of
influenza thus information on this first wave is sporadic at best (Kolata, 1999). I will argue that the

10). Although it produced an intense fever and headache the worse of the symptoms often subsided
within three to four days. The second wave was not nearly as kind. Upon visiting Camp Devins,
William Welch, founder of Johns Hopkins Medical School was greeted by a grisly sight, Blood was
everywhere...pouring out of some men s nostrils and even ears while others coughed it up. Many of
the soldiers, boys in their teens, men in their twenties healthy, normally ruddy men were turning blue
(Barry, 2004, p. 189). Something had happened to take the ordinary, relatively benevolent seasonal flu
and turn it into a killer. Of all the present theories to account for this remarkable transformation the
most credible is that of viral adaptation (Barry, 2004). This theory states that when moving between
species a virus is briefly less efficient in its new host species than the old due to differences in internal
biochemistry. This makes the virus less virulent. Thus those most affected by the weakened virus will
be those with weakened immune systems. As the virus adapts to its new host species it becomes
steadily more deadly until it reaches an upper limit where it is killing off its hosts too rapidly so that
the most virulent strains cannot spread.
The Spanish flu was unusual in a number of respects but one of the most notable was

Government Of The People By Abraham Lincoln
INTRO
Democracy is eloquently described by Abraham Lincoln as government of the people, by the people,
for the people . The quote by Lincoln though, is perhaps the most straightforward, compelling
explanation ensuring that even the laymen understand the fundamentals of the term. The subject
matter that is required in this essay is to determine differences in the quality of democracy. This is
regarded as the dependant variable, which is the outcome that needs explanation. This can be
explained using the independent variables, the economic factors and cultural factors which will be
used to explain the phenomena of the dependant variable. 3 countries will be looked at in this essay to
explain the given theories. The countries are Tunisia, Algeria and Libya. All 3 countries have been
picked having many similarities but when it comes to the quality of democracy, they vary. All 3
countries are vastly Muslim, they border each other and they are all situated in the north Africa.
However the Polity score of each country differs with Tunisia Algeria and Libya scoring 7, 2 and 0
respectively. Libya s polity score was taken that of 2014. In measuring the difference in quality of
democracy it needs to be ensured that the countries are as similar as possible therefore enabling the
difference in the quality of democracy distinguishable.

situation. This is that way to lower the risk whereby keeping the old system working if the new system

the staff of Comair does not play their own role. This is because they did not check with their
competitor as other competitor already using the new system. For me, I will always check with the
competitor current information system. Checking does not mean to be a copy cat but to understanding
the change and how to improve our own system.
Was there anything Delta executives could have done during the merger to have avoided this type of
exposure from their new acquisition? Yes, there was things that should be done by Delta executives
during the merger to avoid this tyoe of exposure from their new acquisition. The exposure could been
avoided if Delta had done a comprehensive analysis of the risk that this new system posed to the
airline s daily operation and taken the step to test the work or mitigate the risk. What have done by the
Delta or Comair executive, they did not take serious consideration about the replacement system while

Different Aspects That Go Into Making A Business...
There are many different aspects that go into making a business successful. Businesses need a strong
vision, great leaders within the organization, strong sales, a successful sales team, a steady stream of
revenue as well as a way to produce the revenue or sales coming in. Two important aspects of business
that are not always brought up, is profit and the cost to operate the organization. Often times managers
only look at the net profit or net revenue on their Profit and Loss statements without breaking down
the numbers or cost of doing business. Even if an organization is successful and has a great profit
margin at the end of the month, quarter or year, does not mean they do not need to analyze the cost of
the operations. Analyzing those costs cannot only help an organization become profitable, when they
are unprofitable, but can make them more profitable even if they show a healthy profit. Finding ways
to cut cost or become more efficient with the operations can lead an organization in the right direction
when it comes to their finances (Ahmed, S., 2016). When small businesses are involved they need to
pay close attention to their cost and controlling their cost. Profit planning is one way to manage cost
and use the budget to create ways for the managers to recognize how to work cheaper and more
efficiently. One small miss step with over purchasing or overages on production time or inventory can
cost a small business money, when this happens it can directly affect their

the body. The liver also has an excretory role, as it removes the yellowish bile pigment formed by the
brake down of RBCs and puts them into the bile for elimination from the body. The hepatic ducts
drain the bile out of the liver and form the common bile duct that drains the bile into the duodenum.
The gallbladder is a sac attached to the undersurface of the liver. It has a folded interior and functions
to concentrate and store the bile produced by the liver. When there is no chyme in the duodenum the
sphincter muscles within the duodenum remain closed and the bile back up the common bile duct into
the cystic duct that leads into the gallbladder. The gallbladder concentrates the bile by re absorbing
water from the bile back into the blood. The bile contains the bile salts that emulsify the fats in the

best for management to clearly highlight the organization s goals and then motivate employees to keep

Life Process Of A Cell
Cell Biology
Introduction
The report will look at and discuss the life process of a cell, the functions of the cell and the cells
structure. A cell is the smallest unit of an organism and is the building block of all living things.
Key life processes of a cell
All living things including cells have some life processes in common. There are seven processes that
they need to preform to be classed alive. These are:
1) Movement all living things have movement including plants
2) Respiration the process of getting energy from food
3) Sensitivity this allows the living thing to detect changes in the surroundings
4) Growth all living things grow
5) Reproduction to reproduce and make more living things of the same type
6) Excretion getting rid of waste product
7) Nutrition taking in and using food
Viruses are not known as living like cells as living things require nutrition and viruses do not. A virus
is not live; it is unable to absorb nutrients, produce or excrete waste; so viruses attach themselves to
living organism known as a host to survive and gain the nutrition they need. They also need the host to
be able to move and reproduce as they unable to do this alone. Viruses have to inject its viral DNA
into the host cell it has invaded in order to get the host to reproduce for it.
Understanding living cells and distinguishing them from viruses
There are two primary types of cells prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The key difference between the two

Internal And External Factors Of Failure
It has been widely recognized that business growth and survival, success or failure depend both on
external and internal factors. Most of the challenges in which a business will face might be foreseeable
and some will be completely unpredictable. However, if a business is successful, management must be
attentive to all matters which are likely to have a material impact on its viability, and must then
demonstrate skills both in exploiting opportunities and mitigating threats (FEE 2004).
In general, many different terminologies are related to business failure, such as firm closure,
entrepreneurial exit, dissolution, discontinuance, insolvency, organizational mortality, and bankruptcy
Cardozo and Borchert (2004). Typically, entrepreneurial failure is defined as the cease of an operation
for financial reasons, but one type of entrepreneurial failure is the discontinuance of venturing efforts

In most cases, a complex mixture of causes contributes to business failure. It is very rare for one
single factor to be involved (FEE 2004). According to the literature, the variables that explain business
failure can be grouped into four broad categories: (1) firm specific, (2) industry specific, (3) macro
economic, and (4) spatial or geographic factors (Maoh Kanaroglou 2007; Ooghe De Prijcker 2008),
classified causes of failure business into four groups of factors: general environment (economics,
technology, foreign countries, politics, and social factors), immediate environment (customers,
suppliers, competitors, banks and credit institutions, stockholders, and misadventure),
manager/entrepreneur (motivation, qualities, skills, and characteristics) and corporate strategy

Fast-Food Advertising Causes Obesity Essay
There has been a long term concern that youth or children who eat from fast food restaurants have a
big risk for becoming overweight. Some research shows that greater familiarity with fast food
advertising on television is associated with obesity in young people (Pediatric Academic Societies
parag.1). It is known that these children and adolescents are being extremely exposed to fast food
advertising including the internet, social media, and particularly on television. The marketer and
owners of these fast food restaurants use many techniques to attract children and help cause childhood
obesity. Not only are they mainly targeting children but also they target low income families and
helping cause obesity in their income groups, with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3). This shows how badly children are actually exposed to these advertisements everyday on the
television constantly being persuaded into having their parents buy them the unhealthy food. Harper
Collins argues that the problem of childhood obesity has grown dramatically in recent years, with
between 16% and 33% of children and adolescents being obese or overweight due to unhealthy weight
gain due to poor diets and lack of exercise (parag. 1). These percentages aren t very good when every
day almost ⅓ of U.S. children from the eat fast food, which most likely helps them gain extra pounds
per child or adolescent per year and heightens the risk of obesity . These numbers may be startling but
they are not surprising, since billions of dollars are spent every year on advertising that is targeted
specifically to children this is how big the numbers should be. Some studies have shown that fast food
contributes to increased calorie intake and obesity risk in children meaning that all those healthy food
these fast food restaurants have been advertising have been falsely advertised may be thats why fast
food advertising is causing childhood obesity. Fast food advertising has been a big contributor in
causing obesity in the U.S by targeting children.

In order to determine and analyse data for the structure and the functional of biological molecules and
also specific biological problems, with this tool and computational techniques, it enables researchers
to analyse the information that is associated with biomolecules on a wider scale through the computer
databases that is based on existing data (1).
Bioinformatics can be described as a dry practical lab work. With the use of computers, it has become
one of the easiest ways in predicting the possible outcomes of the lab experiment, and most
importantly, plays an essential role in modern biology. This helps researchers to have an idea of the
biological data that is available and the vital role in the discovery of the new biological relationships
(2). By using these tools that are available, bioinformaticians are required to familiarise themselves
with the nucleotide and protein sequence that is being analysed, the possible mutations and motifs etc.
Familiarising with structure and functions of proteins is vital in being able to manipulate it and
employ the DNA, and working with it. Nowadays, science and technology is slowly advancing
everyday, which have leads to; scientists discovering the new advances in algorithms, which is a

Solution-Focused Brief Family Therapy Paper
Overview, Description, and Rational
Solution focused therapy was developed in 1982 at The Brief Family Therapy Center in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin (). SFBT was inspired by Milton Erickson and MRI models, both Insoo and Steve de
Shazer Kim Berg had worked on the MRI models which SFBT is created from (Mo Yee Lee, 2011).
Solution Focused Brief Therapy is theoretically based, evidence based, empirical researched and has
been clinically practice for the past 32 years (). The assumption and basic premises of SFBT
emphasized by the creators is that its merely about the techniques and more about its logic/rational ().
To effectively execute SFBT it requires the clinician to deeply understands and the concepts to
influence clients change (). Why does SFBT standout amongst others models, because SFBT practice
is rooted in the present and future. The focus is not on exploring ... Show more content on

Solution focused brief therapy contends that people are equipped with the skills to create change in
their lives, though they may need help in refining and identifying those skills. Similarly, SFBT
recognizes that people already know, on some level, what change is needed in their lives, and SFBT
practitioners help clients to clarify their goals. In particular, the therapist will help the client to identify
a time in life when the present problem was either less detrimental or more manageable, and evaluate
what factors were different or what solutions may have been present at that time.
SFBT practitioners empathize with the struggles of their clients and guide clients to see what is
working for them, to continue those practices that work, and to acknowledge and celebrate their
successes. They also encourage clients to experiment with new approaches to problems. SFBT aims to
help people find tools they can employ right away to manage symptoms and face challenges. This type
of therapy can be used in individual therapy and with families and

Internet And The Internet Essay
Since the late 1960s and early 1970s, computer scientists have improved the accessibility of the
internet to all people. Technology has continuously improved through the introduction of computer
programming and coding and the use of cellular devices. Today, anyone can have access to internet
through the various forms of technology such as cell phones, computers, laptops, tablets, smart
watches, etc. Over the past 15 years, the internet has begun to incorporate itself into education by
allowing students to perform research more efficiently and have more interactive learning through the
use of educational websites, Smart Boards, etc. Accordingly, not only has the internet greatly impacted
education making it more interesting, but it has also impacted domestic lives. Parents now have an
easier way for their children to learn online at earlier ages through educational websites and online
learning programs, such as Starfall and ABCMouse. Children, from ages as young as three years old to
teenagers, have learned to operate the internet. Although children have developed this knowledge,
consequently, many have failed to learn the repercussions of their actions when inappropriately using
the internet. One of the most common repercussions one can often face is bullying through the
internet, entitled as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is defined as verbally harming an individual or
group by anonymously or non anonymously posting harmful information through the internet. The

Sociocultural Theory Of Second Language Acquisition
The sociocultural theory of second language acquisition has provided me with the strongest reasons
for reconsidering my previous views on second language learning. Vygotsky proposed a sociocultural
theory that is very influential within the field of second language learning. The focus was on the idea
that all learning is primarily social. The connections between people and the sociocultural context in
which they interact with one another are crucial. Through interaction in shared experiences new
knowledge is obtained. This perspective emphasizes the social nature of learning and examines the
complex and dynamic social interaction involved in the process of learning a second language.
According to Vygotsky the cognitive and social processes in acquiring a second language are
inseparable. Social interaction has a vital role in the process of cognitive development. Individuals
start out in society and culture and only become individualized when they separate themselves from
what is taking place. Learning takes place in sociocultural contexts and behavior is learned by reacting
to other people. Information is gained first socially and then becomes internalized. Vygotsky thought
that learning took place on two different levels. Learning took place on the first level by interacting
with others and then on the second level information is internalized into the individual s mental
structure. He talks about two different functions inter mental and intra mental. Intermental

Analysis Of Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, By...
My interpretation of the two poems, And Death Shall Have No Dominion and Do Not Go Gentle into
That Good Night by Dylan Thomas, significantly align with the view that there is an inherent tension
between life and death which is explored through imagery in Dylan Thomas poetry. This is because of
the ideas explored in the poems, death should have no dominion/control/authority and that death is the
fate of all humans. Dylan Thomas illustrates these ideas by using poetic techniques, including
imagery.

poetry. Death shall have no dominion/control/authority ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea of death being the fate of all humans is expressed in this poem, it depicts the tension between
life and death. Dylan Thomas uses parallelism, symbolism and oxymorons to express this idea. Dylan
Thomas illustrates the idea of death being the fate of all humans by using parallelism. Thomas uses
parallelism in each stanza when naming the type of men; wise men, good men, wild men and grave
men. Thomas states that all these men will fall into death in the end. The symbolism here expresses
the idea of death being the fate for all humans. The line Old age should burn and rave close of day
symbolises the idea. This is because close of day symbolises death and old age is a metonymy. The
use of poetic devices here creates vivid images of life and death. In the last stanza, Thomas knows that
death is the fate of his father, Curse, bless, me now with with your fierce tears, I pray. The two
oxymorons here cure, bless and fierce tears give enrichment to the tension of life and death. The
inherent tension between life and death is explored throughout Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good
Night due to the idea of death being the fate of all humans and the techniques

My Definition Of Normal
What is considered normal? Everyone today yearns to be considered normal, but what exactly are they
striving for? Found in the dictionary, the definition of normal is: an adjective; usual; conforming to the
usual standard, type, or custom. But, how can anything be considered normal if no two people are
exactly the same? Norms form a society. They are the standards by which people live by. Growing up
in Rhode Island, my experience has been with the American contemporary society. Our society has to
put labels on everything and everyone in order to function. There are different norms for the way we
look and act. Our society has set an extremely high standard of normality with appearance. People
believe that the norm for appearance, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am not staying popular people cannot be friends, but they are friends based on a superficial idea.
They care about the clothes, the looks, and what people thought of them, while my sister did not care
how she dressed or if what approved of what she was doing. All she cared about was having what she
determined to be fun. While most people looked at her as being a nerd, I look at her as being a cool
person who was content with her life.
This experience made me start questioning the idea of normality. I realized that norms measure a
person s happiness. If a person is normal, then he or she has found security and happiness. But, what
about the rest of us? Just because I have not achieved, and in most cases unwilling to achieve, the
norms of society, does this make me inferior to the norms? Beside myself, many people have
internally agonized over the idea of norms and how they serve society, especially dealing with
appearances. Everyone comes to a point when they evaluate their lives against these standards. Often
times, in a person s quest for normality, they have to conform and try to destroy their differences from
what they perceive to be normal. Before they realize they are different, they are, in a sense, content
with their lives. This idea can be found my many writings such as Elizabeth MacDonald s Odalique.
My hair is short can less feminine at this time, my face rounder, my body plumper.

  • 2. The Perceptions Of Professionals On The Traumatic Event... The study was conducted to determine from the perceptions of professionals on whether life experiences or becoming homeless was the traumatic event that triggered (PTSD) posttraumatic stress disorder amid the homeless adolescent population of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Participants included 12 professionals with experience of working with homeless adolescents ages 13 18. A questionnaire was utilized for 14 participants to gather the information for the study, which had an 85.7% response rate. The results did not determine whether it was life experiences or becoming homeless that was the traumatic event that triggered the development of PTSD amid the homeless adolescent population in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. However, the study did yield a PTSD issue within the population and a lack of service providers for homeless adolescents. The study revealed a need to further research the issue to identify the actual scope of the problem and to implement services to help address the issue of PTSD among the population. • 3. The Leadership And Administration Of The Brigade The 4th ABCT used to be one of the best Brigades in the Division. A dedication to its mission and competition coupled with a family environment and a decent leadership used to characterize the Brigade before its deployment into Afghanistan. The inefficient leadership, along with stressful situations the ABCT went through in Afghanistan had a negative impact on the Brigade administration, with a severe impact on personnel stress, discontent, professionalism, indiscipline both on officers, Non Commissioned officers and soldiers. This situation has had negative consequences that the Commander, LTC Cutler, was unable to realize it for redress. The lack of command and control, direction and guidance made that these issues continued and worsened. Considering the extent of issues prevailing in the Brigade, there is a need for changes that would revamp both the leadership and administration of the Brigade. The present paper shall discuss ways to achieve the needed changes, ensure continuity of culture and climate, develop an ethical organization that prevents sexual harassment in the 4th ABCT and create the Brigade vision. Based on ethical issues that the Brigade is currently facing, the first step will consist of bringing in the needed organizational changes. According to an assessment made by LTC Pete Owens, the new Brigade Commander, all the problems mentioned above were caused by a bad leadership that failed to ensure an ethical organization and a focus on the mission. • 5. Analysis Of Lord Of The Flies And Hunger Games By... The concept of civil culture is one often glorified within society, yet its power depends wholly on the ethical nature of those who uphold it. The novels, Lord of The Flies by William Golding and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, demonstrate this prospect as through the narrative techniques of characterisation, plot, setting and style, they exemplify the moral decline of man under pressure to survive, ultimately resulting in savagery. Characterisation plays a major role in both texts as each character serves as a representation humanity and the faults within it. Throughout Lord of the Flies there is a developing inequality among the characters as social order is established based on the strength and ability of each. Consequently the weakest of those characters are placed at the mercy of the strongest, in essence giving them the power that motivates their transformation from well mannered British boys to unrestrained savages. Likewise inequality is demonstrated to the same extent within the Hunger Games as the weaker, less experienced tributes are hunted by the Careers , a pack of brutal children who become natural and effective killers. Throughout both novels, the characters place great significance on appearance, as how they are perceived by others factors into their survival. In The Hunger Games a certain appearance wins the support of sponsors, who may well mean the difference between life and death, If you appeal to the crowd, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Effective Communication Of The Brands Values, Personality... The key factor to any organisation is the ability to attract and retain the best talent in the market. This is essential if your business is among the high competitors were specialised skills are in high demand. The following will demonstrate how through employer branding an organisation can strengthen their relationship with both existing and potential employees. Also how effective communication of the brands values, personality and culture may impact on the creation of a strong employer brand. A company will be perceived on how it conducts itself in the market across the board to how the potential employee imagines what it would be like to work for that organisation. An effective brand would highlight all the positive aspects such as a good employer, great place to work, and at the same time influencing recruitment retention. As a result of this a positive impression of your company will be visible within the market sector. Effective communication and organisational skills, alongside personality and culture can create a positive perception of good employer branding. Employees should feel some kind of responsibility toward the organisations employer branding. The reflection of employee s actions portrays an image of the company. • 7. Eliot s Influences On Literature Frederick Douglass and T.S. Eliot s Influences On Literature The nineteenth and twentieth century were pivotal times in the world of literature. Many new elements of writing and style were evolving and authors all over the world were finding ways to present what they felt most passionate about. Some writers opened their readers up to newer ideas by the means of, as Ezra Pound once stated, making it new. Two writers in particular who did a fantastic job of this were Frederick Douglass and T.S. Eliot. Frederick Douglass s most popular work is his autobiography, The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass. In this story, Douglass makes romanticism new. On the contrast, T.S. Elliot is widely known for his poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, in which he makes new of imagery. While Frederick Douglass and T.S. Eliot come from completely different backgrounds and write with different styles, they share a few commonalities as well as both being influences on literary society. Frederick Douglass was born into slavery in Talbot County, Maryland around the supposed year of 1818. Like many other slaves, his exact date of birth remains unknown. Douglass was an abolitionist for slavery as well as a supporter for women s rights. Due to his works and accomplishments, it is obvious that Douglass was a major contributor to the literary tradition of American Romanticism. After escaping slavery, Frederick Douglass wrote his most famous autobiography, The Narrative of the Life of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Epidemic Of Ebola Virus Children around the world fear the dark because they do not understand it. Much like a child s fear of the dark, the panic caused by the Ebola virus is largely due to misunderstanding and is often blown out of proportion. The Ebola virus is discussed in the media because it generates hysteria, even though it is nowhere near as threatening as it is often claimed to be. Do not make the assumption that the virus itself is not lethal, as indeed it is one of the deadlier pathogens in the world; however, a variety of factors contribute to making the Ebola virus a less than perfect killer; in order to know why, it is important to understand what exactly the Ebola virus is. In the most basic sense, Ebola has RNA as its genetic material and belongs to the virus family Filoviridae, the same family as the Marburg virus. According to Peters and Peters (1999), Marburg virus was first discovered in 1967. It was the first virus of the Filoviridae family uncovered; Ebola was the second, being discovered in 1976. Ebola was initially encountered in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where several outbreaks of Hemorrhagic Fever were documented. Teams sent to deal with these outbreaks found an almost total cessation of transmission. Survivors, however, provided an excellent source of data. The survivors demonstrated that the reason for this cessation was that the virus had killed most of the medical staff in affected areas. • 10. Evaluation Of A Prototype Model A prototype can be defined as a representative example of a given category [1]. A prototype model can be viewed as a rudimentary working model of a product or information system, used to test or prove a concept or a process. A prototype of an Information System can be viewed as a draft version of the system that allows stakeholders to explore system features and test the overall system before dedicating resources for the development of the full scale system. Prototyping is an iterative process. A high level view of the process allows us to identify the following 4 steps that form the crux of the prototyping approach: Figure 1: Prototype Design Process 1. Identify Content Based on the needs of the stakeholders, information is gathered about the features that a system should possess. 2. Build Prototype Using the information, a prototype is then created to gain an understanding of the system. 3. Review Prototype The prototype is reviewed for errors and flaws and suitability to the stakeholders needs. If it does not align with the testing standards, the process is reiterated until a satisfactory model is created. 4. Freeze Design Once all stakeholders and designers are satisfied, the prototype model is finalized and no new changes are incorporated into the model. 1.1 Prototyping in Business Analysis A prototype is an original model, form or an instance that serves as a basis for other processes. These are the key similarities between President Martin Van Buren and President James Buchanan. First is the offices they held. Both Presidents were in the United States Senate and were appointed Ministers to foreign countries. Another key similarity is that they both only served one term. Another one is that neither one of them oversaw a major war. These are the key differences, between President Martin Van Buren and President James Buchanan. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These are not perfect similarities or differences. At least in the way that someone could say that Abraham Lincoln freed slaves or Thomas Jefferson owned them. There are two similarities with the preceding statement. First, both of the Presidents tried to maintain the integrity of the union. The faster your state expands the harder it is to maintain control and placing a nation under the support of those who would advocate it be left intact is the lesser of two evils. The second way is that both of their policies would have been in opposition to Southern Democrats. This is because Texas would have entered the union a slave state and Southerners would have been opposed to anti slavery Northerners holding office. A few other thoughts I had about these men and their party was. This party iteration of the Democrat seems to have more in common with the Democratic Republicans of the Jeffersonian era rather than the Democrats around the time President Abraham Lincoln was elected. I reached this conclusion because the Democrats of the time had a platform of free market economics ie. the use of gold as currency, solvency and the opposition to state chartered federal ... Except that you have a paper due tomorrow which you haven t started, you are trespassing on someone s property, and you tripped on a log a few minutes before and hurt your ankle. Teenagers are known for their rebellious and dangerous behavior. Although pulling stunts and playing games may be fun they also need to consider the dangers and outcomes of these actions. There is much controversy of whether or not violent role playing games are good or bad for people including teenagers. There are many people who believe that the positive effects it has on people outweigh the negative effects. However, there are also people that argue that the negative effects outweigh the positive effects. Although violent role playing games seem fun and harmless they aren t and are very dangerous, have many illegal aspects to them, and keep people that are playing them unfocused on school or work. There are many places where this game could be considered dangerous. One example of how this is a dangerous game is in High Jinks: Shoot Out by Guy Martin. As Mr. Martin states hopped a neighbor s fence and exited through a neighbor s house. Despite having a brand value of an amazing $66.4 billion, Google.cn still fails to dominate the search engine market in mainland China and faces stiff competition from bitter rival Baidu. In other words, Baidu s market share in China is nearly 75 percent to Google China s 25 percent. The secret to Baidu s success and Google s failure is largely positioning. Chinese authorities blocked Google ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hence, Baidu.com is easier to remember than Google.cn. Inability to control sensitive content. The Great Firewall is extremely sensitive when it comes to pornography contents. The reason of blocking Google International is that netizens in China can search pornography images via Google Images when the default setting of SafeSearch is off. In contrast, Baidu has a strong filter to sieve out any unsuitable content that displeasure the Chinese government. As a result, it s almost impossible to search any sensitive content on Baidu. Google failed because government would not care about its position when all of us have to face the laws. In China, consumers rely on blogs and other user generated consumer reporting when deciding what to buy, mainly because they trust word of mouth much more than any blatant advertising campaign. So it should come as no surprise that they re also very active participants, leaving more than twice the amount of comments their peers elsewhere post. The key issues and the lessons China is a complicated market, more so with the media industry. The Chinese government retains far more control over media, the press, and the internet than any other economy at a similarly developed level. • 17. The Demographic Transition Theory Unlike society a few decades before, the life expectancy has increased and now America is seeing an exponential growth to the elderly population. There are many factors that could be the cause of this. Looking at the demographic transition theory in conjunction with the Malthusian theory brought valuable insight for me. The demographic theory says there are four stages to population growth that are predictable. Those who are in their late 80 s and above were capable of seeing all four of these stages in America. As they aged and the stages for population advanced so did technology. Malthusian theory claims that there are three factors that prevents the human population exceed its carrying capacity, which are food, disease, and war. Those who lived through the four stages of America were lucky enough to see technology advance to prevent those factors in being lethal to our population. It became possible for adults to live on to see their grandchildren and eventually their great grandchildren. However, having life for so long isn t always the best. There s a quote from the movie The Dark Knight which I believe applies to this situation, You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. . This quote is evident in the film Living Old , because eventually you reach an age where your body and mind regresses, which hurts your love ones. • 18. Behind the Zoo What makes an object worth collecting? Curiosity is an important aspect of collecting. With the spread of colonies, there was an affinity to discover the unknown, or rather, the different. The nineteenth century paved the way for many sponsored expedition, looking for curios. Found object; vases, pots and pans, tools of everyday use, gained an importance, as curios. Nature has captivated the human cognizance since man first acquired tools, it would only be natural for the curiosity to extend to the subject of new flora and fauna. By means of collecting it is possible to establish a personal identity or characterize the other and often identifying this other as a conquest. This idea of conquest can be analyzed in the manner in which collection is presented, making presenting as important an aspect as the collection itself. The oldest zoological collection was a transportable one which contained every known species, however only two of each animal, one male and one female, collected by Noah as recounted in Genesis. Not does Noah get credit for conceptualizing the zoo, but as highlighted by John Elsner and Roger Cardinal s introduction in The Cultures of Collecting, he was also the first collector. Granted it was under the request of a higher power, but in some way every collection emphasizes a purpose or some secret desire. While we can choose to believe this to be true or not, the lesson to be taken here is that collections can be thrust on its collector. Two of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. The Principles Of The Kingdom Of God The Principles of the Kingdom of God are found abundantly within the text writings of the Gospels and other books within the Bible. It is easy to see that the Kingdom of God came upon us when Jesus walked the earth teaching, healing and preaching; doing the works of our Father, God Almighty. This essay will attempt to bring to light methods which Jesus used to teach those around him and touch on some of the aspects of the Kingdom of God. Robert Coleman (1993) listed the methods used by Jesus as selection, association, impartation, delegation and reproduction. In this progressive teaching method Jesus chose his disciples, associated with them and gave them a living example. He then set them out to complete tasks based upon his teachings. This process was eventually restarted when the disciples themselves chose students of their own. The First Principle of the Kingdom of God The Kingdom is for the Jew first then the Gentile, however; the Kingdom will be taken away and given to a people who will produce its fruit (Matthew 21:43). Perhaps the Kingdom will be taken away from the Jew and given to the Gentile to produce its fruits, to preach the Gospel to the nations, to heal the sick and continue the works of the Father. As the audience, we grow to sympathize with the conquered Palestinians and support Usama in his quest to reclaim freedom for Palestine. As Khalifeh predominantly manifests the Palestinian struggle through the main character of Usama, it gives the reader a very narrow minded view of the issues faced in Palestine. Once Usama returns, he is disgusted to find streets filled with complacent Arabs who have accepted the Israeli rule and workers who bought things greedily, ate well, dressed well. Greedy is an important and interesting adjective the author uses to describe the people of Palestine, as it carries a very negative connotation that describes the people with a naked and selfish ambition along with a voracious lust for riches and wealth. Through this integration of greedy, as the audience we are averse to the Palestinian people and empathize with Usama as he paints himself as the lone hero that will save Palestine. Through this crude description of the Palestinians, we can see that in his eyes, they have traded and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because there are over 500 Aboriginal nations across Australia the system is helpful because it simplifies the different clans and groups that share common kinship and language. • 24. The Taming Of Samurai Summary Eiko Ikegami is an academic writer who focuses on comparative historical sociology, specificially that of Japanese society. Her book, The Taming of Samurai , explains us the underlying basis behind Japanese organisational structure using the history of the samurai and Tokugawa state formation. This book also demonstrates how such a risky imperious approach of enforcing a more hierarchical structure to the population, especially samurai, would be quite a solution for the setbacks that Tokugawa shogunate had faced to impose its honorific authority and a process that developed Japan s organisational culture instead. Ikegami starts by summarising the background to the Battle of Sekigahara. She also adds that the decisive battle is not merely a battle that marked the unofficial beginning of Tokugawa clan s reign because it is essential to note events prior to Tokugawa period, including Battle of Sekigahara, as phenomena of survival of the fittest amongst the daimyō during Japanese medieval period. Her father left when she was very young, leaving her to only her mother, grandmother, and aunts. Growing up, one thing instilled into Bebe was to make sure she acted proper, especially in public around white people, as they didn t want her to be seen as another typical colored person . The women in her family believed that if she acted right, she would be given a better and more equal opportunity at an education as the white children. One day, when Bebe acted out in class, her mother was called, but instead of being punished, her mother was more embarrassed at the fact that she allowed other (white) kids to see her act that way. Bebe went on to complain about how she wished she had a father figure in her life to punish her for doing such things like the other kids had. In her mind, having a father figure symbolized stability and normalcy in a family, which she didn t have, adding another thing to the list of differences she had from the other students. The female characters of Euripides are often nuanced with dualistic characterizations. While Euripides may present Phaedra as noble for fighting her lustful urges, he ultimately exposes her to the same petty nature as the very goddesses who inflict these desires on her. All of the women in Hippolytus are viewed Eve like figures who lead men astray, despite their intentions. Greek mythology would have been widely known by Euripides audience and Phaedra s lineage is no exception. Her mother, Paciphae, had slept with a bull and bore the Minotaur. The same Minotaur Theseus would slay in the labyrinth. Her mother s monstrous sexual appetite taints Phaedra s family. Phaedra s sister is also unlucky in romantic affairs as she is married to Dionysius. In other versions of the Phaedra story, such as the Seneca play Phaedra; this ancestry is the key reason for her unnatural attraction to her stepson. The 1918 Influenza Epidemic Essay What would later become one of the deadliest plagues the world had ever seen started innocuously enough in the spring of 1918 spreading through populations on both sides of the Atlantic. Remarkable for its highly infectious nature, the spring strain was relatively non lethal, rarely killing infected individuals (Kolata, 1999). Thus little more than average attention was paid to the precursor of a virus that would eventually kill between twenty one and one hundred million individuals worldwide (Barry, 2004). Something had happened to take the ordinary, relatively benevolent seasonal flu and turn it into a killer. Of all the present theories to account for this remarkable transformation the most credible is that of viral adaptation (Barry, 2004). This theory states that when moving between species a virus is briefly less efficient in its new host species than the old due to differences in internal biochemistry. This makes the virus less virulent. Thus those most affected by the weakened virus will be those with weakened immune systems. As the virus adapts to its new host species it becomes steadily more deadly until it reaches an upper limit where it is killing off its hosts too rapidly so that the most virulent strains cannot spread. • 33. Different Aspects That Go Into Making A Business... There are many different aspects that go into making a business successful. Businesses need a strong vision, great leaders within the organization, strong sales, a successful sales team, a steady stream of revenue as well as a way to produce the revenue or sales coming in. Two important aspects of business that are not always brought up, is profit and the cost to operate the organization. Often times managers only look at the net profit or net revenue on their Profit and Loss statements without breaking down the numbers or cost of doing business. Even if an organization is successful and has a great profit margin at the end of the month, quarter or year, does not mean they do not need to analyze the cost of the operations. Analyzing those costs cannot only help an organization become profitable, when they are unprofitable, but can make them more profitable even if they show a healthy profit. Finding ways to cut cost or become more efficient with the operations can lead an organization in the right direction when it comes to their finances (Ahmed, S., 2016). When small businesses are involved they need to pay close attention to their cost and controlling their cost. Profit planning is one way to manage cost and use the budget to create ways for the managers to recognize how to work cheaper and more efficiently. One small miss step with over purchasing or overages on production time or inventory can cost a small business money, when this happens it can directly affect their ... The liver also has an excretory role, as it removes the yellowish bile pigment formed by the brake down of RBCs and puts them into the bile for elimination from the body. It is best for management to clearly highlight the organization s goals and then motivate employees to keep them engaged. A list of things to consider include: Clearly defining the goals of the company. When the company goals and visions are well stated to the employees, then they will have a clear understanding of what they have to do to ensure that there is success at the workplace. Providing the required resources for the employees. It should not be assumed that the employees have all the necessities that will enable them to carry out their duties effectively. The management should make available all the required resources that will ensure they do their work completely and satisfactorily. Having good communication channels. Good communication is very vital in the sense that if there is miscommunication then there will be a lot of chaos at the work place. Having good communication in the organization will ensure that everything is flowing as required, without skipping any steps. Getting everyone at the work place engaged. This is done by giving employees a chance to make proposals and decisions on some issues. It is a step that will make them feel appreciated in the company. It will also allow employees to become responsible for whatever outcome the decision created. Being fair to every employee. • 43. Life Process Of A Cell Cell Biology Introduction The report will look at and discuss the life process of a cell, the functions of the cell and the cells structure. A cell is the smallest unit of an organism and is the building block of all living things. Key life processes of a cell All living things including cells have some life processes in common. There are seven processes that they need to preform to be classed alive. These are: 1) Movement all living things have movement including plants 2) Respiration the process of getting energy from food 3) Sensitivity this allows the living thing to detect changes in the surroundings 4) Growth all living things grow 5) Reproduction to reproduce and make more living things of the same type 6) Excretion getting rid of waste product 7) Nutrition taking in and using food Viruses are not known as living like cells as living things require nutrition and viruses do not. A virus is not live; it is unable to absorb nutrients, produce or excrete waste; so viruses attach themselves to living organism known as a host to survive and gain the nutrition they need. They also need the host to be able to move and reproduce as they unable to do this alone. Viruses have to inject its viral DNA into the host cell it has invaded in order to get the host to reproduce for it. Understanding living cells and distinguishing them from viruses There are two primary types of cells prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The key difference between the two is that the eukaryotic cells contain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Internal And External Factors Of Failure It has been widely recognized that business growth and survival, success or failure depend both on external and internal factors. Most of the challenges in which a business will face might be foreseeable and some will be completely unpredictable. However, if a business is successful, management must be attentive to all matters which are likely to have a material impact on its viability, and must then demonstrate skills both in exploiting opportunities and mitigating threats (FEE 2004). In general, many different terminologies are related to business failure, such as firm closure, entrepreneurial exit, dissolution, discontinuance, insolvency, organizational mortality, and bankruptcy Cardozo and Borchert (2004). Typically, entrepreneurial failure is defined as the cease of an operation for financial reasons, but one type of entrepreneurial failure is the discontinuance of venturing efforts by ... • 45. Fast-Food Advertising Causes Obesity Essay There has been a long term concern that youth or children who eat from fast food restaurants have a big risk for becoming overweight. Some research shows that greater familiarity with fast food advertising on television is associated with obesity in young people (Pediatric Academic Societies parag.1). It is known that these children and adolescents are being extremely exposed to fast food advertising including the internet, social media, and particularly on television. The marketer and owners of these fast food restaurants use many techniques to attract children and help cause childhood obesity. Not only are they mainly targeting children but also they target low income families and helping cause obesity in their income groups, with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3). This shows how badly children are actually exposed to these advertisements everyday on the television constantly being persuaded into having their parents buy them the unhealthy food. Harper Collins argues that the problem of childhood obesity has grown dramatically in recent years, with between 16% and 33% of children and adolescents being obese or overweight due to unhealthy weight gain due to poor diets and lack of exercise (parag. 1). These percentages aren t very good when every day almost ⅓ of U.S. children from the eat fast food, which most likely helps them gain extra pounds per child or adolescent per year and heightens the risk of obesity . These numbers may be startling but they are not surprising, since billions of dollars are spent every year on advertising that is targeted specifically to children this is how big the numbers should be. Some studies have shown that fast food contributes to increased calorie intake and obesity risk in children meaning that all those healthy food these fast food restaurants have been advertising have been falsely advertised may be thats why fast food advertising is causing childhood obesity. In order to determine and analyse data for the structure and the functional of biological molecules and also specific biological problems, with this tool and computational techniques, it enables researchers to analyse the information that is associated with biomolecules on a wider scale through the computer databases that is based on existing data (1). Bioinformatics can be described as a dry practical lab work. With the use of computers, it has become one of the easiest ways in predicting the possible outcomes of the lab experiment, and most importantly, plays an essential role in modern biology. This helps researchers to have an idea of the biological data that is available and the vital role in the discovery of the new biological relationships (2). By using these tools that are available, bioinformaticians are required to familiarise themselves with the nucleotide and protein sequence that is being analysed, the possible mutations and motifs etc. Familiarising with structure and functions of proteins is vital in being able to manipulate it and employ the DNA, and working with it. SFBT was inspired by Milton Erickson and MRI models, both Insoo and Steve de Shazer Kim Berg had worked on the MRI models which SFBT is created from (Mo Yee Lee, 2011). Solution Focused Brief Therapy is theoretically based, evidence based, empirical researched and has been clinically practice for the past 32 years (). The assumption and basic premises of SFBT emphasized by the creators is that its merely about the techniques and more about its logic/rational (). To effectively execute SFBT it requires the clinician to deeply understands and the concepts to influence clients change (). Solution focused brief therapy contends that people are equipped with the skills to create change in their lives, though they may need help in refining and identifying those skills. Similarly, SFBT recognizes that people already know, on some level, what change is needed in their lives, and SFBT practitioners help clients to clarify their goals. In particular, the therapist will help the client to identify a time in life when the present problem was either less detrimental or more manageable, and evaluate what factors were different or what solutions may have been present at that time. SFBT practitioners empathize with the struggles of their clients and guide clients to see what is working for them, to continue those practices that work, and to acknowledge and celebrate their successes. They also encourage clients to experiment with new approaches to problems. SFBT aims to help people find tools they can employ right away to manage symptoms and face challenges. • 48. Internet And The Internet Essay Since the late 1960s and early 1970s, computer scientists have improved the accessibility of the internet to all people. Technology has continuously improved through the introduction of computer programming and coding and the use of cellular devices. Today, anyone can have access to internet through the various forms of technology such as cell phones, computers, laptops, tablets, smart watches, etc. Over the past 15 years, the internet has begun to incorporate itself into education by allowing students to perform research more efficiently and have more interactive learning through the use of educational websites, Smart Boards, etc. Accordingly, not only has the internet greatly impacted education making it more interesting, but it has also impacted domestic lives. Parents now have an easier way for their children to learn online at earlier ages through educational websites and online learning programs, such as Starfall and ABCMouse. Children, from ages as young as three years old to teenagers, have learned to operate the internet. Although children have developed this knowledge, consequently, many have failed to learn the repercussions of their actions when inappropriately using the internet. One of the most common repercussions one can often face is bullying through the internet, entitled as cyberbullying. • 49. Sociocultural Theory Of Second Language Acquisition The sociocultural theory of second language acquisition has provided me with the strongest reasons for reconsidering my previous views on second language learning. Vygotsky proposed a sociocultural theory that is very influential within the field of second language learning. The focus was on the idea that all learning is primarily social. The connections between people and the sociocultural context in which they interact with one another are crucial. Through interaction in shared experiences new knowledge is obtained. This perspective emphasizes the social nature of learning and examines the complex and dynamic social interaction involved in the process of learning a second language. According to Vygotsky the cognitive and social processes in acquiring a second language are inseparable. Social interaction has a vital role in the process of cognitive development. Individuals start out in society and culture and only become individualized when they separate themselves from what is taking place. Learning takes place in sociocultural contexts and behavior is learned by reacting to other people. Information is gained first socially and then becomes internalized. Vygotsky thought that learning took place on two different levels. Learning took place on the first level by interacting with others and then on the second level information is internalized into the individual s mental structure. He talks about two different functions inter mental and intra mental. Intermental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My interpretation of the two poems, And Death Shall Have No Dominion and Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas, significantly align with the view that there is an inherent tension between life and death which is explored through imagery in Dylan Thomas poetry. This is because of the ideas explored in the poems, death should have no dominion/control/authority and that death is the fate of all humans. Dylan Thomas illustrates these ideas by using poetic techniques, including imagery. The idea of death being the fate of all humans is expressed in this poem, it depicts the tension between life and death. Dylan Thomas uses parallelism, symbolism and oxymorons to express this idea. Dylan Thomas illustrates the idea of death being the fate of all humans by using parallelism. Thomas uses parallelism in each stanza when naming the type of men; wise men, good men, wild men and grave men. Thomas states that all these men will fall into death in the end. The symbolism here expresses the idea of death being the fate for all humans. The line Old age should burn and rave close of day symbolises the idea. This is because close of day symbolises death and old age is a metonymy. The use of poetic devices here creates vivid images of life and death. In the last stanza, Thomas knows that death is the fate of his father, Curse, bless, me now with with your fierce tears, I pray. • 51. My Definition Of Normal What is considered normal? Everyone today yearns to be considered normal, but what exactly are they striving for? Found in the dictionary, the definition of normal is: an adjective; usual; conforming to the usual standard, type, or custom. But, how can anything be considered normal if no two people are exactly the same? Norms form a society. They are the standards by which people live by. Growing up in Rhode Island, my experience has been with the American contemporary society. Our society has to put labels on everything and everyone in order to function. There are different norms for the way we look and act. Our society has set an extremely high standard of normality with appearance. People believe that the norm for appearance, ... They care about the clothes, the looks, and what people thought of them, while my sister did not care how she dressed or if what approved of what she was doing. All she cared about was having what she determined to be fun. While most people looked at her as being a nerd, I look at her as being a cool person who was content with her life. This experience made me start questioning the idea of normality. I realized that norms measure a person s happiness. If a person is normal, then he or she has found security and happiness. But, what about the rest of us? Just because I have not achieved, and in most cases unwilling to achieve, the norms of society, does this make me inferior to the norms? Beside myself, many people have internally agonized over the idea of norms and how they serve society, especially dealing with appearances. Everyone comes to a point when they evaluate their lives against these standards. Often times, in a person s quest for normality, they have to conform and try to destroy their differences from what they perceive to be normal. Before they realize they are different, they are, in a sense, content with their lives. This idea can be found my many writings such as Elizabeth MacDonald s Odalique.
