William Wordsworth As A Romantic Poet
William Wordsworth was born in April 7, 1770 in a village on the edge of the Lake District in
northwest England. In 1787 Wordsworth was enrolled at St. Johs College, Cambridge as a
scholarship student, but because he was un interested in the curriculum, he decided to depend on
self reading. During his twenty s years of central events have took place in Wordsworth life,
receiving money from a friend that enabled him to process a house, and the establishment of
collaboration with Smauel coleride that led to the publication of a volume of poems and ballads.
Many of his poems were composed while he was walking through a neighborhood, a park, or
uninhabited area. (McDonnell. Veidemanis and pfordresher, 1991, pp: 449, 462). William
Wordsworthhas represented his inner voice and life through his poems that were in relation to the

In living in a remote part of near a lake, Wordsworth considered that a valuable opportunity and
experience to amply his imagination as a poet, also he used to revise and re write and reorganize
his poems to appear in the final form (Watson Towheed, p, 21).
1 Romantic writers as Wordsworth see themselves as reacting against the though and literary
practices of the proceeding century. The major subject in the romantic work especially in the
poems as the daffodil by William Wordsworth is the beauty and the satisfactions achieved from
the nature followed by feelings of pleasure. Nature meant great deal to the romantics, such as it
has been perceived as the healing power, a source of subject and image, a resort from the artificial

Essay On The Catcher In The Rye Moral Laws
Moral laws, an absolute principle defining the criteria of right action, are rules by which mankind
govern themselves. The laws are general basic rules by which the world is supposed to follow in
order to create a fair, just and safe environment for everyone to live in. Oftentimes, many books,
plays, songs and speeches have been condemned by speaking against the unspoken laws and often
encouraging others to do so as well. The Catcher in the Rye, written by J.D. Salinger is one of many
examples where a book challenges traditional teachings throughout its content and as a result, is
banished from various groups and organizations around the world. In the novel The Catcher in the
Rye, the author, JD Salinger, encapsulates the teenage angst among many individuals today through
the main character Holden Caulfield and his journey through a world full of phonies. Author

Highly respected individuals and organizations revered the book while on the other hand many
schools banned the contents and forbade the teachers to teach the book itself. Not long after the
initial publication, the New York Times believed Holden s story was told in Holden s own
strange, wonderful language by J. D. Salinger in an unusually brilliant novel (Burger 1).
However, on the other side of the spectrum, some went to the extent to seek that the The Catcher
in the Rye be banned continually from schools, libraries, and bookstores due to its profanity,
sexual subject matter, and rejection of some traditional American ideals (Lamazoff 1). Yet,
despite the critiques and appraisals upon the book s initial publication, as society has evolved and
time has progressed, the book has sold over 65 million copies worldwide and is studied in schools
and universities all over the

Summary On The Court Decision Decides A Software Patent...
Summary
This Supreme Court decision decides a software patent complaint between Alice Corporation Pty.
Ltd.
(Alice) and CLS Bank International et al (CLS Bank). The question in this case asks whether a
patent
claiming the use of a fundamental economic principle is eligible for patent because it applies the use
of
a computer.
Procedural History
The petitioner of the case, CLS Bank, has several patents (Nos. 5,970,479, 6,912,510, 7,149,720,
7,725,375) pertaining to the exchange of financial obligations between two parties by using a
computer system as a third party intermediary i.e. escrow. (Alice Corp v. CLS Bank, 13 298 S. Ct. 2
(2013)) The respondent in this case, CLS Bank, is a cash settlement service dealing in the foreign
exchange market. CLS Bank has filed suit against Alice in District Court, claiming the patents are
invalid, unenforceable, or not infringed. After the Supreme Court decided on Bilski v. Kappos, No.
08
964 (2010) both parties filed cross motions in District Court seeking summary judgment as to
whether
the asserted claims are eligible for patent. The District Court held that the claims are patent
ineligible
because they are directed to an abstract idea. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
reversed the decision with a divided panel. Their assertion stated that there was no obvious use of an
abstract concept. The Federal Circuit then agreed to hear the claim en banc and vacated the panel s

The Prelude, By William Wordsworth
Mind and Imagination An elevated concentration to the way the mind works is without a doubt one
of the most significant attributes of Romantic poetry. In William Wordsworth s poem, The Prelude,
the poet allows several memories from his youth to be brought up again in his adulthood and looks
to grasp onto these certain influences that have assisted in establishing his mindand could
potentially help him become the best poet possible. John Keats described his idea of imaginationto a
friend in an 1877 letter: I am certain of nothing save the holiness of the heart s affections and the
truth of the imagination. What the imagination seizes as Beauty must be truth, whether it existed
before or not. The obsession that Keats had with the imaginative idea to escape from everyday life
led him to write The Fall of Hyperion. Both poets use cognitive interpretations as a way to express
inner beliefs about the human mind or imagination. Like mentioned in class, Wordsworth begins
with his alienation experiences in Prelude 1 and concludes with his adjustment statements in
Prelude 11 and 13 and Keats development within The Fall shows the start of a happy innocence into
a rather painful maturity.
Like mentioned above, Wordsworth writes The Prelude as a tool in which to show exactly how
youthful memories are able to be turned into something very constructive in adulthood. The poem
is not only the record of those memories, but records, with great sensitivity, the very process

Migrant Farm Workers Research Paper
Melissa, I enjoyed reading your primary task posting concerning work related issues that migrant
farm workers face in the United States. In fact, I completely agree with your statement that even
though the United States agricultural industry heavily depends on the labor migrant farm workers
provide, the men, women, and children performing the work are for the most part seriously
underappreciated. Additionally, you made an extremely interesting point about migrant farm
workers who are in the country legally, even though they are eligible for government assistance
(WIC, Medicaid, and food stamps), who do not receive these benefits because they are frequently
traveling from state to state to find work. I had not considered this element of

My Memories Of My Childhood
Looking back at my childhood, I suppose you could say it was pretty difficult. Even at my happiest,
I was living with a foster family, separated from the rest of my biological relatives. However, I
couldn t complain. I loved them like they were my family that I spent my whole life with. I was a
five year old boy living a happy life. I had grown attached to the family, feeling like I was truly a
part of it. Then one cold November day it all changed. A woman dressed in black came to my
home I had grown to love and told me it was time to go away. I horrified, not knowing where I
could be taken. After waiting in a room full of toys for a few hours, she came back in and told
me it was time to go. She put me in the back seat of a car and started driving. Driving to my
mother s house, to live with her and my two brothers. They didn t even feel like family anymore.
Time marched on, however. My sister was born, I was reintroduced to my family, and although I
missed the Bernards, everything felt like it was going to be ok.
Everything seemed to be, until I was fifteen. One September morning while sitting in my English
class, I was called to the office. Upon arrival, I was informed that I was being de enrolled by my
mother. She told me that she was putting me on independent studies. I could handle that. However,
I couldn t handle the reason; my mother had been diagnosed with cancer.
The weeks started turning into months. The next thing I knew, it was time to start junior year, and I

the poison which he had created. When Rappaccini looked at Giovanni in the street, it wasn t an

him and make him a compaion for his daughter, Beatrice.
When Professor Pietro Baglioni warns Giovanni about Dr. Rappaccini and he works, Giovanni

Giovanni notices Beatrice, he believes that he has found love at first sight but it was an obsession.

Character Analysis Of Gene Forrester In A Separate Peace...
Gene Forrester is a character developed through his actions, dialogues, and thoughts that contribute
to his personality traits. Gene s thoughts and actions distinguish his personality from that of other
characters. Gene hides his true nature in the environment of the novel but exposes himself to the
reader through his thinking and reflection. Gene is revealed to be insecure and jealous through his
narration of the story. Firstly, Gene s insecurity and jealousy are unveiled through his actions,
thinking, and dialogue. By deciphering his reasoning behind his actions, the reader discovers
Gene s insecurity thriving beneath the surface. This is seen when Gene s close friend Phineas
jokingly admits that Gene becoming valedictorian would make him jealous and Gene reacts by
thinking, Then a second realization broke as clearly and bleakly as dawn at the beach. Finny had

He describes this realization as clear and bleak which indicates he feels it is obvious that Finny
intends to sabotage Gene s academics. However, this is evidently uncharacteristic of Finny, and
implies Gene is misreading and unconsciously manipulating the situation to justify the fact he
does not have an A in one of his classes; he blames Finny for this. Gene s conjecture is a result of
his attempt to defend himself. Insecurity breeds defensiveness as his poor self confidence
allowed him to feel threatened by Finny s joking remarks and took his words sincerely. Due to
Gene s defensive response, it displays his weak self confidence, proving his insecurity. Another
personality trait Gene possesses is jealousy. His jealousy is exemplified in Gene s reaction when
Finny is about to get in trouble, and he responds, This time he wasn t going to get away with it. I

Travels of a T-Shirt Book Report Essay
Question 1: Write a summary of this book
Often, when we think of a t shirt, not much consideration goes past throwing it on and walking
out the door. We discover in The Travels of a T Shirt in the Global Economy, author Pietra Rivoli
conveys the story of a t shirt she purchased in Florida for just $5.99. Beginning with core element
of the t shirt, she describes the cotton boom in the United States and why we have reigned supreme
as the leading cotton producer. She even meets with a Texan farmer who warms your heart from the
very beginning of the chapter. Next, the cotton goes on to textile mills and factories, and Rivoli
explains the history of the textile industry. With this lesson, she demonstrates how the textile
industry boom was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her writing style takes into consideration those with very little economic awareness and fluidly
phrases things into layman s terms. She is able to expand on the most complex ideas, such as
quotas and tariffs in the textile industry, and still paint a complete picture in the mind of the reader.
The relevance of this book can be measured by its ability to speak to the everyday individual, who
may or may not know anything about economics, and plant the seed toward global economic
education. It provides a keen social awareness to people who may or may not ordinarily care about
international economics and can have an eye opening effect toward what really happens in the
textile industry.
Rivoli also raises some substantial points about free trade and protectionism. After the facts are
presented, she identifies that most of these alleged free markets aren t actually free at all. She
explains that quotas, political relationships, and labor issues make these markets restricted from
being completely free. She writes a story of the wealth enhancing possibilities of globalization in
some settings but a can t win trap in others, a trap where power imbalances and poorly functioning
politics and markets seem to doom the economic future.
Question 3: Is the author arguing for free trade or protectionism? Explain.
Rivoli is not making an argument for either side of protectionism or free trade. Of course, as an
avid economist, Rivoli advocates free trade, as

He is displayed as a huge giant ambiguous figure. He was a green giant, green skinned and was also

All green was this man and his clothing; a straight coat sat tight to his sides; a fair mantle above,
adorned within; the lining showed, with costly trimming of shining white fur; and such with his
hood also, that was caught back from his locks and lay on his shoulder...
Personality wise, the Green knight did display chivalry and followed the knights code, but as
stated by Carl Grey Martin from the article The Cipher of Chivalry: Violence As Courtly Play in
The World of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, He states that The Dominant act of the Middle
English romance Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is the grotesque physical breaking and
disfigurement of one knight to another. He also states that the Green Knight is a violent and crude
person who wishes to slash and hack through things even people for amusement.

How Did Henry Ford Change The Automobile Industry
In 1863, Henry Ford was the first surviving son born to William and Mary Ford, who owned a
farm in Dearborn, Michigan. When Henry Ford was growing up his dad gave him a watch to
tinker around with. He had taken his father s watch apart and put it back together so many times
that by the time he was only 15 Ford was the unofficial watch repairman in his neighborhood. It was
his first curiosity and interest in engineering that led him to designing the first automobile for the
common man. Ford grew up on a farm in Dearborn, Michiganand would have kept working on the

Henry. The only person who might have had the power to stop Bennett was Henry s son, Edsel,
who was president of the company. But Edsel himself was fighting Henry and his unwillingness
to change. Bennett s power in the company continued to grow. His violence against the union of
automobile workers also grew. The Ford Motor Company did not agree to negotiate with the
union until 1941. Henry Ford accepted an agreement. If he had not, his company would have
lost millions of dollars in government business. In 1943, Edsel Ford died. With Edsel gone,
Henry again became president of the Ford Motor Company. It was difficult to know if Henry or
Harry Bennett was running the company. America was at war. And Henry was eighty years old,
too old to deal with the problems of wartime production. And Bennett knew nothing at all about
production. So Henry s grandson, also Henry Ford, was recalled from the Navy to run the
company. Young Henry s first act was to dismiss Harry Bennett. Old Henry Ford retired from

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Part of the torture is that the burden of guilt feels unending because you cannot undo the past
(Matsakis 119). In the book, Survivors Guilt by Aphrodite Matsakis, Ph. D, where Matsakis
depicts what and why living with PTSD is unbearable. Matsakis explains that guilt is the root of
PTSD. There is a never ending list of things to be guilty about after leaving a war, mainly;
wishing you could get the health back of the injured, get back the lives that were taken and
closure with soldiers you thought could have been saved. If the thoughts of these things could
have closure and be let go, the survivor s guilt would be surrendered. The quote, Guilt demands
punishment (119), explains in such simple terms of why the root of PTSD is guilt. If the guilt is
released, then the negative thoughts, feelings of hatred, anger and what ifs would all disappear.
Addiction and abuse are two common disorders that people often inherit while attempting to
coupe with their PTSD. Alcoholism and drug abuse are brought on by the tremendous amounts of
stress and guilt felt when suffering from PTSD. The anxiety and physiological arousal
(adrenaline reactions) created by feelings of survivor guilt can play a major role in the origin and
perpetuation of any form of addiction (Matsakis 121). The high and numbness that is associated
with alcohol and drugs gives a short term relief from the guilt and pain felt from PTSD. After the
short term relief is worn off, the veterans suffering often feel

The Beat Generation Subculture Essay
The Beat Generation Subculture
Every generation has its middle class, majority, and norm, which are decided by that era s
standards of behavior and thought. Similarly, each generation has a group that rejects these
standards and rebels against the norm. In the 1950 s a group of American writers that exemplified
this behavior formed. They were called the beat generation. The beat generation was particularly
remarkable because although it was began by an exceptionally small group of people, its cultural
influence was enormous. The beats rebelled against things like conformity and consumerism in the
post World War II society. Their writing challenged both traditional American values and
contemporary writing styles. Incorporating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many writers in the group later renounced the term when they felt it lost its meaning. It took the
beats a long time before they gained fame however. Jack Kerouac s novel, On the Road, went
through many different publishers before anyone agreed to print it. When it did come out it was
heavily criticized by the press. In the 1950 s the lifestyle that On the Road explored was
considered deviant. The stereotype that emerged in the mass media was a spaced out beatnik,
dressed in black, pounding on bongo drums and muttering gibberish as poetry (Microsoft Encarta,
2001). America s youth, however, identified with the feelings of despair and the need for freedom
expressed in their work. The beats created a revolution that began with many young people leaving
their conventional lives to hitchhike around American and find themselves. Like most subcultures,
the Beat Generation rebelled against the social and cultural norms of their time. For them it was the

Scottish Criminal Justice Essay
Scottish Criminal Justice
Scottish criminal justice is a very complicated are of study. There are many different topics of
thought that surround the Scottish criminal justice system, in terms of both physical and mental
areas. The criminal justice system stems out into a number of different other subject areas mainly
because criminal justice affects so many different fields in society. It s not just simply about police
arresting criminals, the accused going to court and ending up the criminal goes to prison. There are
many other extending factors connected with the process. There are many different officials
involved each putting input into different areas of the process. As mentioned it is not ... Show more

In 1995, two criminal psychologists decided it was necessary to undertake studies into this
particular area of eye witness testimonies. They felt the need to identify factors that must be taken
into account when judging the value of the account given by the witness. Cutler and Penrod, after
completing, their investigation into the subject they decided that there were seven main factors that
must be considered.
A contrary finding is reported by Cutler, Dexter and Penrod (1990) who found
that judges instructions failed to increase the scepticism . . . concerning eye
witness evidence
(Feldman, 1993: p120)
The first of these factors relates to the actual eye witness themselves. It takes into account various
individual and personal characteristics of the actual witness. The first section measures stable
characteristics of the witness. These characteristics are items that are personal to the individual at
the time of the incident. Police can judge similar testimonies to similar types of people because
many people may fall into the same brackets when evaluating using stable characteristics. Things
that would be considered in this area would be the age of the witness, their gender and other things
like personality etc. The second factor that Cutler and Penrod

Racial Stereotype in the Movie The Green Mile
Racial stereotypes have always invaded films, from the earliest silent film, to the most modern
film production. Stereotypes in early America had significant influence over how other viewed
African Americans, Latinos, Asians etc. The most stereotyped race in history is the black male.
In most early films, they were portrayed as simple minded and careless individuals, but when
African Americans started to stand up for themselves films portrayed them as more savage and
bloodthirsty. In the 1999 film The Green Mile directed by Frank Darabont, Michael Clarke
Duncan is portrayed as John Coffey a giant simple minded black man in 1934 who is accused of
raping and killing two white girls. This is a stereotype that has been used in films about... Show

the black culture emerged from the ragged edges of a European society. This was the real
necessity that was historically constructed by the white supremacist to bring us down. We
learned to live and deal with whatever came our way. The ragged edges of not being able to eat,
having a place to live, or health care developed our culture into what it is today. (Kruger and
Mariani, pp 93). Blacks, along with other people of color, have always been always been
oppressed for how they looked. If one goes back in history, they will find that the Native
Americans who first inhabited this land were also subjected to oppression, genocide, rape, killing
etc. It was a five hundred year struggle that decimated a cultures to the point where they are almost
extinct. One would think that with the changing of eras actions like this would stop, but they do
not. The genocide of Native Americans is still on going. On Pine Ridge reservation, in South
Dakota, the murder rate is seventy percent higher than the national average. This is easily one of
the most dangerous places in America today. The treatment of John Coffey can be likened to that of
the Native Americans. Both Native Americans and African Americans make up a majority of the
national prison system. In northern states like South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming, Native
Americans were treated just like the African Americans were in the south. They are beat, lynched
and killed. Some of these activities still take place. Like African

Benefits Of Aloe Vera
We all know, plants are very important for every one of us living here in this world. It is
impossible to anyone else that could live without it. We could not live not having any of it. All of
its parts are meant to be used by us. It is in our own decision on how we should use it properly.
Plants have many benefits that we can get from it. One of these is as medicinal purposes. Since
then it is been the source by the ancient people for their medicine. It is as old as civilization and
throughout history it is been used as traditional folk remedy. Technology was not yet invented that
is why plants were their source of medicine. But even now in our generation most of the people
rely mainly in traditional remedy such as herbs.
Most of the plants are medicinal that we can use as alternative medicine. One of these is aloe Vera.
Aloe Verais used as remedy for burns, inflammation and other skin ailments.
The most widely known species is aloe Vera because it contains over four hundred genus of
plants, which is grown for unusual shape. Aloe Vera is a plant that thrives in dessert, grassland,
alpine and coastal regions not for the hot, dry climates that most people think. Even though
individual species vary in size, shape, and color, still they all have some common characteristics.
Aloes construct a rosette of fleshy leaves that may be either spines or smooth, depending on the
variety. It depends on the variety of the aloes if they will produce a rosette fleshly leaves be
either spines of smooth. Most of it has spines that line the outer edges of the leaves and some have

Stereotypes Vs Misconceptions
Students who come from a family that is living either near, at, or below the poverty line in the
United states, are not expected to succeed. Understanding the difference between a stereotype and
a misconception could be difficult. A stereotype is putting one group of people in a specific
category. The group has done something at one point in time, or at least a small part of this group
still does certain things to prove these beliefs to be true. On the other hand, a misconception is
formed from misinterpreted stereotypes. There is never any truth involved when dealing with
misconceptions. The two exist to create an understanding of the world around us. Most people will
choose not to question stereotypes or misconceptions, because after they have existed so long, they
eventually are accepted. A group that is not clearly understood would be students who are living in
poverty. The socioeconomic standing of each family does not determine every student s future....

They make one story become the only story . Stereotypes often come from a physical, or behavioral
characteristic. They do have some truths within them although there is often details that are either
overlooked or left out. The characteristics given to groups who hold a specific stereotype are
exaggerated greatly. Basically, stereotypes come from a lack of information. With a lack of
information it is more likely for problems to arise. Once given an idea of how a person or group
should act, it sticks in the mind. People continue to believe stereotypes after seeing one being
proven right. Once a single stereotypes is proven, the mind will continue to reinforce that

The philosophy I chose was Enlightened Self‐Interest. According to the book is not being
selfish. The author provided an example of what was the philosophy of Enlightened
Self‐Interest. That would be when young siblings angrily dispute who owns what, a parent will
remind them not to fight. Instead, they are urged to share. In school, children are taught to obey
rules, not to be selfish, and to cooperate with others. Public praise for philanthropy reminds us that
charity is good that acting out of self‐interest is wrong (except when it was the way the donor s

International performance
Resources and capabilities
The two main independent variables that have to be included in the conceptual model are the
management board and the resources and capabilities of the company. It has been discussed in the
literature that two of the four factors that influence the performance of businesses in their
internationalization process are the management level and the control of resource capacity (Zeng,
Tam, Wan, 2009). A distinction between resources and capabilities must be made: resources are
the productive assets of the firm, while the capabilities are what the firm can do. It is the
management board that decides upon the acquisition, development, usage and control of resources
and the development of capabilities. Managers will select a set of resources from those available to
the firm that they believe are responsible for achieving their vision of the business, which will
result in the desired sustained competitive advantage of the company (Kunc, Morecroft, 2010).
Furthermore, the board will have to decide on other matters as well, which can alter the
international performance of the company, whether it be positive or negative.
Background
In the next sections we will elaborate further on the links described in the conceptual framework.
An extensive review of the literature on these subjects will be given, which will be used to support

Social Classes in Maycomb, to Kill a Mockingbird
SOCIAL CLASSES IN MAYCOMB
Even among whites, social hierarchy is evident. Each class looks down on the one below it
AS EVIDENT IN PG 249, THERE ARE FOUR KINDS OF FOLKS IN THE WORLD..
There are many different social classes in To Kill A Mockingbird. The factors that separate people
into these social classes are their skin color and their occupation.
First social class Respectable White collar workers; professionals
For example, Atticus, Scout, and Jem are part of the highest social class. They are part of this
social class because Atticus is a lawyer, which makes him a highly respected person in the

They have no money, no education, and no breeding. The single thing that elevates them at any
level in the community is the fact that they re white. Like most people in similar situations, Bob
and Mayella would like to better their station in life. However, Bob is unwilling to put forth the
effort necessary to change his family s lot and Mayella doesn t have the resources to change her
own life. Bob is not serious about wanting to improve his economical status (copy other mind map)
Ewell is a drunkard and an abuser who is despised throughout the community
Struggle for Power in Society
This struggle for power is most pointedly brought out in the case of Tom Robinson and the Ewells.
Because the Ewells are at the bottom of the class structure along with the African Americans, and
are constantly sneered and despised by their higher ranking white peers, Bob Ewell tries to seem
better than his current situation of utter poverty by trying to appear as morally superior to Tom
Robinson, an African American. In accusing Tom Robinson, he sees what he believes is a way for
advancement in society. Not only does he i) clear his daughter of the crime she has committed of
tempting a black man, he also ii) elevates his societal status. In his mind, the town should think him

Summary Of Amy Tan s The Joy Luck Club
America for immigrants is a land where everybody can become somebody. In Two Kinds, from
an excerpt the novel, The Joy Luck Club, by Amy Tan, Jing mei s mother believed that her
daughter could become anyone that she wanted. Jing mei only wanted to become herself. Jing
mei s mother forced Jing mei to become a prodigy. At first Jing mei was excited to become a
prodigy, however, as time went on Jing mei started to hate trying to become a prodigy. It never
stopped her mother from trying to make Jing mei into a prodigy.Jing mei s perspective of her own
cultural identity, her role as daughter, and how she sees American life was different from her mother
because they were born into two different cultures.
Jing mei, American born, and her mother, Chinese born, came from two different cultural
perspective which causes them to have different views on cultural identity. Sujuan came to
America hoping her child will become a prodigy. When Jing mei and Sujuan were watching TV
Sujuan saw Shirley Temple, and at first mother thought I could be a Chinese Shirley Temple (Tan
22). Shirley Temple was an American child prodigy. This indicates that Sujuan saw her daughter as
a Chinese girl even though Jing mei was born in America. This is significant because this was how
her mother viewed Jing mei s cultural identity. Sujuan s vision of her daughter being a Chinese
Shirley Temple never happened because Jing mei did not want to be anybody expect herself. As

The Red Lilies By Claude Monet
First and foremost I wanted to thank you for the opportunity you gave us by going to the Legion
of Honor, I have to be honest I didn t know what to expect exactly but I was truly amazed at the
art work we were able to tour and receive information on. It was truly a breath taking experience
and I wanted to thank you for that. While all the pieces we were able to encounter were amazing I
was truly memorized by two of the paintings, the first one was The Annunciation by Master of the
Retable of the Reyes Catholics which was Renaissance and Water Lilies by Claude Monetwhich
was impressionism. It was really hard to pick but I choose to write about the Water Lilies by
Monet because I had a connection with the piece and I went back to it about five times.
Impressionism art can be considered the first distinctly modern movement in painting, it was
developed in Paris in the 1860 s but wasn t first exhibited until 1874. Impressionist art turned away
from the fine finish and detail that artist during the same time aspired to create. Impressionist
captured or at least tried to capture momentary, and sensory effect of a scene. Impressionist didn t
rely heavily on realistic depictions of an object or scene, they loosed the brushwork and lightened
their palettes to include intense pure colors. They didn t follow the traditional linear perspective
and clarity that previous art forms depicted to lesser ones. Many critics during the time faulted the
impressionist paintings because of that

A consumer should be able to assume that when they follow the instructions properly, a slide pool
should remain inflated when they use it, without causing any unreasonable danger or harm.
Secondly, Aloe can allege for negligencewhich lead to the wrongful death of his wife because
Toys R Us did not follow the required testing procedures for compliance with Federal Safety
Standard. In addition, Toys R Us are negligent for having only one employee in their safety
assurance department who received approximately 4,000 certificates of this kind per month.
Furthermore, Aloe could also make a strong argument by imposing strict liability in tort on Toys R

unreasonably dangerous to the consumer without proper testing and compliance with Federal
safety standard for such products. Aloe could also appeal for both compensatory and punitive
damages for the loss which could be economic (such as lost income, medical expense) or non
economic (such as pain and suffering and loss of consortium, meaning the loss of someone s active
presence and enjoyment in their life).
Discussion from plaintiff s side
Aloe could argue that the cause of death of his wife is due to the defective and unreasonably
dangerous product that Toys R Us knowingly sold in the market. The regulation

Cyber Deterrence And Its Impact On Western Europe
What is Cyber Deterrence? Merriam Webster defines deterrence as the act of making someone
decide not to do something or the act of preventing a particular act or behavior from happening
(Merriam Webster, 2015) . This can be applied to the cyber realm in the sense that we need to
deter terrorists, state actors and non state actors from attempting attacks on U.S. networks. To
understand how to apply cyber deterrence we have to look at past policies or theories on deterrence.
Deterrence theory first appeared as part of the West s containment strategy in Europe, which aspired
to keep the Soviet Union confined to Eastern Europe and to prevent it from gaining control of
Western Europe (Kugler, 2014). If the Soviets decided to invade Western Europe with the intentions
to drive to the English Channel, the United States could launch a nuclear attack not only on Soviet
troops but on the Soviet homeland as well. The strategy was aimed at deterring conventional attack
on Western Europe by convincing the Soviet government that an invasion would not succeed and
that the Soviet Union faced unacceptable risks: if it made such an attack, it would suffer losses that
far exceeded any benefits that it might hope to gain (Kugler, 2014).
Around the 1960s the deterrence strategy began to change. The Soviet Union began to develop
nuclear tipped ICBMs (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) that could reach U.S. soil in a timely
manner. This could undermine the precarious logic of deterrence by

Today the population of Malaysia is in a favorable position in terms of human capital, and other
shipping companies are transferring manufacturing operations to Malaysia because it is estimated
that their working population increase exponentially in 2020. According to the CIA, one 45.40% of
the current population is less than 25 years and 41.12% are between 25 and 54 years (Central
Intelligence Agency, 2014).
Malaysia is a country committed in favor of free trade and WTO membership provides great support
and attaches great importance to the successive rounds of negotiations within that organization. The
market is open to exporters and the government places no restrictions on food imports, but there is
competition not only from local producers, but also exporting countries near Malaysia and Thailand
and Indonesia.
In Foreign direct investment, exports, education, and growth in Malaysia (Yusoff, 2015) the author
explains that Malaysia is an export based economy that has enacted several liberalization measures
to attract foreign investment, such as allowing foreigners to own property when certain criterias are
met among other advantages. Malaysia considers exports and foreign direct investment as an
important source of human capital augmentation, technological change and spillovers (p. 29).

Second Earl Of Rochester Essay
The satirists shared a talent for making other individuals feel uncomfortable, particularly by
making them aware of their own moral inadequacies. They used irony, derision, and wit to attack
human vice or folly. One method the satirist utilized to catch their readers attention, while also
making them feel uncomfortable, was to describe those things that were deemed inappropriate to
discuss openly in society. The classical example of a topic that was discussed behind closed doors,
yet the satirist used freely, was sex. Mention of such things as sex can always bring a giggle,

In Rochester s Upon His Drinking a Bowl, Rochester joins the aspect of alcohol with that of sex:
Cupid, and Bacchus, my Saints are,
May drink, and Love, still reign,
With Wine, I wash away my cares,
And then to Cunt again.
This attitude of sex and drunkenness is often associated with the ancient Greeks and Romans, who
Rochester makes reference to through Cupid and Bacchus. The wine serves as a tool to rid
oneself of their grasp on reason. It often drives away the feeling of anxiety that often exist between
a man and women during times of intimacy. It allows one to satisfy their bodily pleasure.
The graphic word quot;Cunt quot; not only serves as a symbol of sex and the female genitalia but
is also used to bring about the disgust of any moralist or any rational individual. A reasonable man
would like to think that men do not view sex and women in such a derogatory manner. According
to Rochester, this is not so. Men are crude creatures that do think of sex and women in such a
manner.

The profitability problem is one of the most important problems of future profitability when
opening a new store process and is the important content of the course of operation management.
By recommending the use of this crucial tool, we need to understand, that this will give Shuzworld
a direction, to which one of the three options is the best (the stand alone option, opening of a brand
new store or to do nothing now) for the most cost effectively and profitability option.
Also I am recommending this tool, because the decision tree analysis process, which are of great
importance in the industrial production of high quantity standardized products (Shoes, sandals, etc)

high capital requirements when looking for the opening of a new store, decision tree analysis is of
great relevance for the manufacturing business. Because of it, this attracted the attention of the
manufacturing industry, who tried to support practical cost effectively analysis by using the proper
profitability models.
Now, we will analyzed, which one of the three options is the most cost effective and profitable,

is. For example, when the students ate to much candy they got a tummy ache, the cause of the
tummy ache was eating too much candy and the effect of eating too much candy was a tummy

Systolic Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction (...
Systolic heart failure: is also known as Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).
Systolic HF is defined as an ejection fraction of 40% and an inability of the heart to generate
cardiac output adequate enough to perfuse vital tissues.
Hemodynamic Changes: Contractility is influential in cardiac output and can be compromised due
to myocardial infarction, ischemia, cardiomyopathy, and increased cardiac workload, to name a
few. Inflammatory, immune, and neurohumoral changes can mediate ventricular remodeling, which
will alter myocardial cellular structure resulting in myocardial dilation and further dysfunction of
myocyte contractility over time. The decreased contractility will result decreased stroke volume
and increased left ventricular end diastolic volume, which results in dilation of the heart and
increased preload. Increased afterload can be caused by increased pulmonary vascular resistance
(PVR). This can result from hypertension or aortic valvular disease. The PVR results in resistance
to ventricular emptying, increasing the work load of the LV, thus causing hypertrophy of the
myocardium. Sustained elevated afterload results in pathologic hypertrophy, caused by angiotensin
II and catecholamines. The increase in cardiac muscle mass causes an increase in the heart s oxygen
and energy demands. Thus, more energy from ATP is needed and when demand is greater than
supply, cardiac contractility suffers. Ventricular remodeling continues, further

Essay On Animal Captivity
Jess Ramsey English 3 16 May 2017 Captive Creatures Yay or Nay? The issue on whether or not
to keep animals in captivity has been debated heavily for a long time. With species such as the
panda on the verge of extinction to mistreatment of marine mammals in theme parks such as Sea
World, keeping wild animals under the care of humans has been a struggle and a highly
controversial topic. Even though many people believe that animals should not be kept in
captivity because humans are incapable of fully understanding and providing specific needs for
wild animals, certain animals can be kept happy and healthy in captivity, and these animals are an
important educational tool for teaching people of all ages about biology, biodiversity, and the

According to Savannah Miller, another author, animals born in captivity are not able to return to
the wild. Miller states, From the first minute of life, animals born in captivity are exposed to
humans and captive animal care customs. Because of brain development patterns and learned
behaviors during infancy, captive infants do not have the ability to survive in their natural habitats.
Release creates anxiety for the animal, as they cannot acclimate to the foreign environment, and
eventually they perish either by predation or exposure. By keeping them in captivity we save them
from certain death. Of course, this could lead to an argument against breeding animals in captivity,
but many of the captive born animals are likely born unintentionally. Releasing captive born
animals into the wild may end with them going right back to captivity, as one of the sick or injured

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Devolution
ESSAY
The concept of devolution was first introduced in 1998 in the United Kingdom. The United
Kingdom is made up of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Devolution can be defined
as the process whereby the central authority delegates part of her powers to the local or regional
authority to exercise on her behalf. In this case, the UK parliament, which is the central authority,
transfers some of its powers to the local authorities which are the Scottish parliament, the Northern
Ireland parliament, the London Assembly and the National Assembly for Wales.
The origin of Devolution can be traced to Donald Campbell Dewar (21 August 1937 11 October
2000). He is generally referred to as the architect of Devolution as well as the advocate for Scottish
devolution . And as such, he was elected Scotland s first First minister in the 1999 election. As ...

In 2010, the Scotland Act Established Healthcare Improvement Scotland. This organisation was in
charge of healthcare services at the independent level. So far, they have incentivized the rapid
development and reformation of health care services in Scotland. It works on the improvement of
the quality of the healthcare development based on the scrutiny and constructive criticisms of the
Scots. This was achievable because devolution has given Scotland a chance at experiencing better
and more specialised services.
A stronger economy is only one of the many benefits of devolution to Scotland. Prior to devolution,
Scotland has slowed down the United Kingdom regarding business establishments and commercial
activities in general. Now, one of the basic aims of the Scottish government is to encourage the
creation of more businesses, the continuous existence of these businesses when they are created.
Competition among firms have increased competition, efficiency and innovation, thereby, boosting
the economy and achieving the aim of the Scottish

Twin Studies In Behavior Genetics
Twin Studies Twin studies are part of the methods used in behavior genetics, which includes all
data that are genetically informative siblings, adoptees, pedigree data etc. Monozygotic (identical)
have all of the same genes and dizygotic (fraternal) have 50% of the same genes. Twin studies are
very unique.
One set of twins sisters are being raised 275 miles apart by a kind of accidental science experiment.
Two sets of couples traveled together to Chenzhou, a city in China s Hunan Province. When they
saw the babies they were adopting, the couples had their first twin moment. When the kids come
off the elevator the couples said that they were shocked that the fact that they were getting twins

The infants were six months old at them time and the couples wondered if they were sisters.
They asked the people at the orphanage to see if they were and they said they were not even

did not continue with them adoption that the girls would get separated far away from each
other. So the couples took the girls back to Canada with them. They wanted to do what was the
best for the babies, even if it they had to raise the twins apart from each other. The family s now

Operation and War Sustainment
Introduction War finds success and failures inescapably linked to how well Combined, Joint, and
Multinational Commander conducts sustainment planning and links the products to his strategic,
operational and tactical objectives. Operation OVERLORD provides an excellent case study as
large scale and complex example synchronizing, coordinating, and integrating the logistics
capabilities of the civilian industry, Joint and Coalition forces ultimately leading to the Defeat of
Germany. The purpose and definition of Joint Sustainment as well it s imperatives are described
below in detail, as well as the planning for Operation OVERLORDrelated to these imperatives.
Joint Sustainment, Imperatives, and Principles Joint Publication 3.0 entitled Joint Operations,
defines the Sustainment Function as the provision of logistics and personnel services necessary to
maintain and prolong operations through mission accomplishment and redeployment of the force.
Joint Publication 4 0 goes on further to say Effective joint logistics planning identifies future
requirements and proposes solutions; it requires joint logisticians to understand the commander s
intent and concept of operations (CONOPS). (JP 4 0 p. 57) Logisticians use seven principals in
their planning whether at the strategic, operational, or tactical level of war to ensure the operations
are logistically supportable. These principles are responsiveness, simplicity, flexibility, economy,
attainability, sustainability, and

What Role Does Glinka Play In Russia
Russian culture in the nineteenth century was propagated virtually entirely through the poetry of a
few writers such as Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, and Pushkin. This is to say that the works of a select
group of wordsmiths represented the majority of the artistic output of the largest country in the
world and earned them elevated status. Russian musicat this point took place on the most
miniscule of scopes, consisting mainly of folk melodies passed down equally through generations
of nobility and peasantry and provided little or no status boost. Of Russia s propensity towards
folk song, novelist and music critic Vladimir Stasov (1824 1906) professes:
Folk songs are heard everywhere even today. Every muzhik, carpenter, bricklayer, doorkeeper,
cabman; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is to say that a harmonization of a moving line moves in almost a strictly parallel fashion,
including the parallel fourths, fifths, and octaves so abhorred by Western musicians. This trait
in Russian music allows for a more primitive and earthy texture to prevail in lieu of the more
elegant harmonies of Western music. An example of this type of parallelism can be found in
Borodin s 1868 work Song of the Dark Forest. The top voices of the right hand can be seen
locked in ascending major seconds for several consecutive chords. Whether this type of parallelism
is used for aesthetic reasons or as a direct protest to Western practices is highly

The War With Great Britain For Their Independence
The year is 1775 and the American Colonies are at war with Great Britain for their Independence.
The Continental Congress would soon sign an article into law, which would authorize the
construction of the Navy of the United Colonies of North America. Article 16 of this bill stated
that A convenient place shall be set apart for sick or hurt men, to be removed with their
hammocks and bedding when the surgeon shall advise the same to be necessary: and some of the
crew shall be appointed to attend to and serve them and to keep the place clean. The cooper shall
make buckets with covers and cradles if necessary for their use. Little did they know that this would

direction, all supplies and provisions and hospital stores, and to attend the preparation of
nourishment for the sick. The surgeon s mates shall be particularly careful in directing the
loblolly boy to keep the cockpit clean, and every article therein belonging to the Medical
Department. The surgeon shall prescribe for casual cases on the gun deck every morning at 9 o
clock, due notice having been previously given by his loblolly boy by ringing of a bell, (History
of Hospital). The name and responsibilities of the rate would change several times through the
18th century, with titles like apothecary, nurse, and bay man the person responsible for taking
care of the sick and injured in the sick bay. With the outbreak of the civil war in 1861, naval vessels
were ordered to have at least 2 nurses per every 200 men and we also built the first ship just to
take care of the sick and injured, the USS Red Rover. The medical crew of the USS Red Rover
consisted of 30 surgeons, 30 nurses, and 4 nuns. This ship has also been immortalized at Recruit
Training Command Great Lakes as the sick hall serving all new navy recruits (History of
Hospital). June 17th, 1897 the Hospital Corps as we know it was born, after fear of a Spanish
American War, Congress spurred into action passing a bill which was signed by President William
McKinley. From this date forward any enlisted

Shrew Comedic Devices
Comedic devices have helped develop the plot and comedy of The Taming of the Shrew. It has
shown how a shrew can be changed with the same treatment as it has given. These devices help
you stay attentive to the story and wonder how Petruchio is going to eventually tame Katharina.
The plot develops with incidents as family drama, clever witty language, and unexpected plot
twists. All of this forms a story of which a woman is changed dramatically with one man of
whom she was wed too with no choice. A popular comedic device used in Taming of the Shrew

Summary Of The Flexibility In Duty Hour
This article is about discussing weather or not limiting medical residents hours would be harmful
for patients. Some argue that sleep deprived clinicians threaten patient safety since medical
residents were originally allowed to work shifts of up to 30 hours straight. However, the
Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education updated its standards back in 2011,
limiting residents in their first years to work at a maximum of 16 hour shifts or 80 hour
workweeks, and others to 24 hour shifts. This study focuses on a clinical trial on work hours for
medical students in residency that argue that there are conflicts and dangerous for patients and
practitioners. The trial was called FIRST, The Flexibility in Duty Hour Requirements for Surgical
Trainees Trial, which was led by Dr. Karl Bilimoria, director of the surgical outcomes and quality
improvement center at Northwestern University s Feinberg School of Medicine. FIRST was created

  • 2. William Wordsworth As A Romantic Poet William Wordsworth was born in April 7, 1770 in a village on the edge of the Lake District in northwest England. In 1787 Wordsworth was enrolled at St. Johs College, Cambridge as a scholarship student, but because he was un interested in the curriculum, he decided to depend on self reading. During his twenty s years of central events have took place in Wordsworth life, receiving money from a friend that enabled him to process a house, and the establishment of collaboration with Smauel coleride that led to the publication of a volume of poems and ballads. Many of his poems were composed while he was walking through a neighborhood, a park, or uninhabited area. (McDonnell. Veidemanis and pfordresher, 1991, pp: 449, 462). The major subject in the romantic work especially in the poems as the daffodil by William Wordsworth is the beauty and the satisfactions achieved from the nature followed by feelings of pleasure. • 4. Essay On The Catcher In The Rye Moral Laws Moral laws, an absolute principle defining the criteria of right action, are rules by which mankind govern themselves. The laws are general basic rules by which the world is supposed to follow in order to create a fair, just and safe environment for everyone to live in. Oftentimes, many books, plays, songs and speeches have been condemned by speaking against the unspoken laws and often encouraging others to do so as well. The Catcher in the Rye, written by J.D. Salinger is one of many examples where a book challenges traditional teachings throughout its content and as a result, is banished from various groups and organizations around the world. In the novel The Catcher in the Rye, the author, JD Salinger, encapsulates the teenage angst among many individuals today through the main character Holden Caulfield and his journey through a world full of phonies. However, on the other side of the spectrum, some went to the extent to seek that the The Catcher in the Rye be banned continually from schools, libraries, and bookstores due to its profanity, sexual subject matter, and rejection of some traditional American ideals (Lamazoff 1). Yet, despite the critiques and appraisals upon the book s initial publication, as society has evolved and time has progressed, the book has sold over 65 million copies worldwide and is studied in schools and universities all over the ... • 5. Summary On The Court Decision Decides A Software Patent... Summary This Supreme Court decision decides a software patent complaint between Alice Corporation Pty. Ltd. (Alice) and CLS Bank International et al (CLS Bank). The question in this case asks whether a patent claiming the use of a fundamental economic principle is eligible for patent because it applies the use of a computer. Procedural History The petitioner of the case, CLS Bank, has several patents (Nos. 5,970,479, 6,912,510, 7,149,720, 7,725,375) pertaining to the exchange of financial obligations between two parties by using a computer system as a third party intermediary i.e. escrow. (Alice Corp v. CLS Bank, 13 298 S. Ct. 2 (2013)) The respondent in this case, CLS Bank, is a cash settlement service dealing in the foreign exchange market. CLS Bank has filed suit against Alice in District Court, claiming the patents are invalid, unenforceable, or not infringed. After the Supreme Court decided on Bilski v. Kappos, No. 08 964 (2010) both parties filed cross motions in District Court seeking summary judgment as to whether the asserted claims are eligible for patent. The District Court held that the claims are patent ineligible because they are directed to an abstract idea. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit reversed the decision with a divided panel. Their assertion stated that there was no obvious use of an abstract concept. The Federal Circuit then agreed to hear the claim en banc and vacated the panel s 1

  • 7. The Prelude, By William Wordsworth Mind and Imagination An elevated concentration to the way the mind works is without a doubt one of the most significant attributes of Romantic poetry. In William Wordsworth s poem, The Prelude, the poet allows several memories from his youth to be brought up again in his adulthood and looks to grasp onto these certain influences that have assisted in establishing his mindand could potentially help him become the best poet possible. John Keats described his idea of imaginationto a friend in an 1877 letter: I am certain of nothing save the holiness of the heart s affections and the truth of the imagination. What the imagination seizes as Beauty must be truth, whether it existed before or not. The obsession that Keats had with the imaginative idea to escape from everyday life led him to write The Fall of Hyperion. Both poets use cognitive interpretations as a way to express inner beliefs about the human mind or imagination. Like mentioned in class, Wordsworth begins with his alienation experiences in Prelude 1 and concludes with his adjustment statements in Prelude 11 and 13 and Keats development within The Fall shows the start of a happy innocence into a rather painful maturity. Like mentioned above, Wordsworth writes The Prelude as a tool in which to show exactly how youthful memories are able to be turned into something very constructive in adulthood. Even at my happiest, I was living with a foster family, separated from the rest of my biological relatives. However, I couldn t complain. I loved them like they were my family that I spent my whole life with. I was a five year old boy living a happy life. I had grown attached to the family, feeling like I was truly a part of it. Managers will select a set of resources from those available to the firm that they believe are responsible for achieving their vision of the business, which will result in the desired sustained competitive advantage of the company (Kunc, Morecroft, 2010). Furthermore, the board will have to decide on other matters as well, which can alter the international performance of the company, whether it be positive or negative. Background In the next sections we will elaborate further on the links described in the conceptual framework. An extensive review of the literature on these subjects will be given, which will be used to support the analysis

The Red Lilies By Claude Monet First and foremost I wanted to thank you for the opportunity you gave us by going to the Legion of Honor, I have to be honest I didn t know what to expect exactly but I was truly amazed at the art work we were able to tour and receive information on. It was truly a breath taking experience and I wanted to thank you for that. While all the pieces we were able to encounter were amazing I was truly memorized by two of the paintings, the first one was The Annunciation by Master of the Retable of the Reyes Catholics which was Renaissance and Water Lilies by Claude Monetwhich was impressionism. It was really hard to pick but I choose to write about the Water Lilies by Monet because I had a connection with the piece and I went back to it about five times. Impressionism art can be considered the first distinctly modern movement in painting, it was developed in Paris in the 1860 s but wasn t first exhibited until 1874. Impressionist art turned away from the fine finish and detail that artist during the same time aspired to create. Impressionist captured or at least tried to capture momentary, and sensory effect of a scene. Impressionist didn t rely heavily on realistic depictions of an object or scene, they loosed the brushwork and lightened their palettes to include intense pure colors. They didn t follow the traditional linear perspective and clarity that previous art forms depicted to lesser ones. Many critics during the time faulted the impressionist paintings because of that ... • 35. Cyber Deterrence And Its Impact On Western Europe What is Cyber Deterrence? Merriam Webster defines deterrence as the act of making someone decide not to do something or the act of preventing a particular act or behavior from happening (Merriam Webster, 2015) . This can be applied to the cyber realm in the sense that we need to deter terrorists, state actors and non state actors from attempting attacks on U.S. networks. To understand how to apply cyber deterrence we have to look at past policies or theories on deterrence. Deterrence theory first appeared as part of the West s containment strategy in Europe, which aspired to keep the Soviet Union confined to Eastern Europe and to prevent it from gaining control of Western Europe (Kugler, 2014). If the Soviets decided to invade Western Europe with the intentions to drive to the English Channel, the United States could launch a nuclear attack not only on Soviet troops but on the Soviet homeland as well. The strategy was aimed at deterring conventional attack on Western Europe by convincing the Soviet government that an invasion would not succeed and that the Soviet Union faced unacceptable risks: if it made such an attack, it would suffer losses that far exceeded any benefits that it might hope to gain (Kugler, 2014). Around the 1960s the deterrence strategy began to change. The Soviet Union began to develop nuclear tipped ICBMs (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) that could reach U.S. soil in a timely manner. This could undermine the precarious logic of deterrence by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They used irony, derision, and wit to attack human vice or folly. One method the satirist utilized to catch their readers attention, while also making them feel uncomfortable, was to describe those things that were deemed inappropriate to discuss openly in society. The classical example of a topic that was discussed behind closed doors, yet the satirist used freely, was sex. This attitude of sex and drunkenness is often associated with the ancient Greeks and Romans, who Rochester makes reference to through Cupid and Bacchus. The wine serves as a tool to rid oneself of their grasp on reason. It often drives away the feeling of anxiety that often exist between a man and women during times of intimacy. It allows one to satisfy their bodily pleasure. • 42. Systolic Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction (... Systolic heart failure: is also known as Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Systolic HF is defined as an ejection fraction of 40% and an inability of the heart to generate cardiac output adequate enough to perfuse vital tissues. Hemodynamic Changes: Contractility is influential in cardiac output and can be compromised due to myocardial infarction, ischemia, cardiomyopathy, and increased cardiac workload, to name a few. Inflammatory, immune, and neurohumoral changes can mediate ventricular remodeling, which will alter myocardial cellular structure resulting in myocardial dilation and further dysfunction of myocyte contractility over time. The decreased contractility will result decreased stroke volume and increased left ventricular end diastolic volume, which results in dilation of the heart and increased preload. Increased afterload can be caused by increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR). This can result from hypertension or aortic valvular disease. The PVR results in resistance to ventricular emptying, increasing the work load of the LV, thus causing hypertrophy of the myocardium. Sustained elevated afterload results in pathologic hypertrophy, caused by angiotensin II and catecholamines. The increase in cardiac muscle mass causes an increase in the heart s oxygen and energy demands. Thus, more energy from ATP is needed and when demand is greater than supply, cardiac contractility suffers. Ventricular remodeling continues, further ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With species such as the panda on the verge of extinction to mistreatment of marine mammals in theme parks such as Sea World, keeping wild animals under the care of humans has been a struggle and a highly controversial topic. Even though many people believe that animals should not be kept in captivity because humans are incapable of fully understanding and providing specific needs for wild animals, certain animals can be kept happy and healthy in captivity, and these animals are an important educational tool for teaching people of all ages about biology, biodiversity, and the ecosystems of the world.
