Today the most recognizable and known organization for dogs is the American Kennel club, or
AKC.
The AKC was founded by a group of men on September 17, 1884 after twelve of them received a
summons in the mail by Messrs. J. M. Taylor and Elliot Smith. The men that Taylor and Smith
gathered each had held a significant place in different dog clubs. These men were highly skilled in
their individual styles of dog shows and it was on this expertise that the American Kennel Club was
born. Being composed of men from all different types of kennel clubs and shows, this was the
first kennel club to cover a whole variety of breeds instead of one specific class. At their second
meeting in Madison Square Garden a few months later Major James M. Taylor became the AKC s

fantasy and romance novel. The story continued with the recovering of two main characters, Ethan

and 3ml HClO4 (70%) for 2:30 h at a temperature of 210 0C. The wet digestion procedure was
tested by varying reagent volume, digestion time and digestion temperature to develop a
procedure that consume less reagent volume, clear solution, that requires minimum digestion
time and minimum digestion temperature applied. The concentrations of heavy metals (Pb, Cr
and Cd) in the powder milk collected from Harar were determined by using flame Atomic
Absorption spectrometer. Concentration of Lead, Chromium and Cadmium in the powder milk
brands were found to be in the range: 0.038 0.1688ppm, 0.0597 0.222ppm, and ND for sample X
and Z but 0.068ppm for sample Y, respectively. The accuracy of the optimized procedure was
evaluated by analyzing the digest of the spiked samples. The recoveries of the metals were in the
range of 95.91 99.3% and the standard deviations were less than 10%. These values are compared
with recommended dietary allowance (RDA)

My Math Experience Reflection
As I reflect on my first four week of algebra I recall being very skeptical that I could learn and
complete a mathematics course with a passing grade. Thats because I had not taken a
mathematics course since graduating high school in 1999. I struggled with match in high
school and never really felt overly confident that I could learn and apply mathematics in real life.
Over the past four weeks I have learned a great deal of information and how algebra can be
applied in real world applications. The course has been challenging but I feel that I am doing ok
and I am hopeful that I can pass this course and move on to attaining my degree. The course
material has at times been challenging to comprehend and apply. One of the most difficult parts
of the course has been with the course going on during the Christmas and New Years holiday. I
know in the past Grantham has advertised and granted extensions for assignment due dates
based on holidays. Being an active duty member in the military working full time and trying to
manage a home and work life balance it can be challenging especially during the holidays. I spent
most of Christmas day working on my pre test and quiz for week 3. Its tuff to break away from the

Generation effect tests whether people remember information better when they participate and
generate the word rather than just reading them. In our study we used a lexical decision task to test
the spreading activation. Twelve undergraduate students from Texas A M participated. Some of the
trails consisted of two related words and some consisted of two unrelated words. Two main effects
were used; between subjects and within subjects. Task type represented by between subjects
showed whether those who generated words generated information better than non generated words.

compulsive buying practices to compensate for unhappy events, and/or low self esteem (O
Guinn and Faber, 1989). Some researchers consider compulsive buying to be a dichotomous
behavior (Faber and O Guinn, 1992); meaning consumers are classified either as compulsive or
non compulsive. However, research by Edwards (1993) indicates that compulsive buying, like
many other consumer behaviors, occurs on a continuum. She found that compulsive buying
ranges from non compulsive, to recreational, borderline compulsive, compulsive, and addicted
buying. In other words, consumers can experience no compulsive consumption tendencies, some
compulsive consumption tendencies, or chronic levels of this behavior. The act of buying may
temporarily elevate the mood and self esteem of a compulsive buyer; however it is often
followed by feelings of shame or depression. Wicklund and Gollwitzer (1982) stated that people
may use symbols to build or maintain a complete self definition as part of a commitment to a self
defining goal. Consumers may compulsively buy products to match their subjective perceptions of
themselves with a socially desirable or required appearance as a self defining goal (Elliott, 1994).
Number of people experience compulsive behaviors like shopping, drug abuse, eating, gambling
and variety of other obsessive compulsiveness.
