Recognizing and rewarding high performance is a key recommendation for any approach when
managing any merit pay program (HRIS 2012). Merit pay is a compensation system where base pay
increases and is determined by an individual s performance. Using a merit pay plan is a good way for
an organization to reward high performance is one benefit when using merit pay programs. The first
step in implementing or improving a merit pay program is to have a solid performance management
program, and this is another way a merit pay program is beneficial. Merit pay is a way to be successful
and effectively implement merit pay with a uplift in salaries, and this is a third way using a merit pay
program is beneficial to an organization. There are some drawbacks when using merit pay programs,
such as paying some employees more than others. If you pay high performing workers more than low
performing employees, the high performers may stay, causing the low performers to complain or leave
the organization. A second drawback in using merit pay program is that employees become less
motivated if not paid to their satisfaction. For example, if employees feel they should be making more
money for their performance, this causes them to have low self esteem, and want to find employment
at other organization. The last drawback associated with

Douglas Macarthur Accomplishments
Douglas MacArthur was an American general who commanded the Southwest Pacific in World War II
and was responsible for the successful Allied occupation of Japan and led United Nations forces in the
Korean War. Through great leadership and much controversy, MacArthur changed the course of
history for the U.S. and many other countries. He is considered one of the most important generals in
the history of the U.S. because his way of being influenced generations of generals to come. From
birth until death he was devoted to the U.S. army and lived a life devoted to helping our nation.
MacArthur was raised in a military household. His father being Captain MacArthur who fought in the
Civil War. His mother, just like his father, was extremely patriotic, making MacArthur salute to almost
anything at a young age. She would tell him things such as You must grow up to be a great man, .
Then she would give names such as your father, or Like Robert E. Lee. Even though MacArthur Sr.

from the beginning wished for his son to follow in his footsteps. Early signs that he would become and
obedient man and good soldier was the fact that he never rebelled as a child. MacArthur will end up
going to the Texas Military Institute and West Point. He dealt with a lot of awful things at school. His
attitude was one of a soldier which not everyone appreciated. This attitude caused him to deal with
tormentors who would make him recite his father s Civil War record. Being able to live through all of
this and sticking to it allows us to see the type of heart MacArthur had. He was never going to give up
on becoming a soldier in the U.S. Army. All of these early life experiences give us the man who we
know today who is responsible for many successes in U.S.

Imagine you have just completed a trip through the early kingdoms and city states of East, Central,
and South Africa. Your family and friends ask you about the trip. Your task is to give them an oral
history of your experience. You may choose to write your account, record it, or make a video.
Remember, your family and friends will share your story and pass it on to future generations, like oral
historians in Africa. Make it fascinating! No one wants to hear a boring story.

Axum
On my second day, I have visited Axum, in Eastern Africa. A place that in the first century CE,
became the wealthiest, most influential market city on the coast of Ethiopia, it finally became a
kingdom in the third century CE. I also learned from the locals there that in fourth century CE,
missionaries had introduced Christianity to the city of Axum and King Ezana became the first known
Christian king in all of Africa, and finally in seventh century CE, Axum has come to a close end.
Arabs eventually came and conquered Adulis and cut off Axum s Red Sea trade route. Also, Axum
became successful by trading gold, glass, ivory, metal and agricultural gods with African,
Mediterranean and Asia trade networks, along with the Roman Empire, Egypt, Arabia and India.

The Controversy Of Having A Role Model
Having a role model is great because of it can inspire me more and help me achieve goals in my life.
My role model is a businessman, he went to community college , and a great father. He is my uncle
and he achieved many different tasks and he never gives up on what he wants. My uncle, Allan moved
from Barrow, Alaska to Fairbanks, Alaska in 2006. He was living as a simple man and had a simple
job. What made him want to move is because he had more of an opportunity to get a good job and
make a better life in Fairbanks. He lived with my family in Barrow before moving to Fairbanks, it was
hard for him to get privacy and find a good paying job that fits his talent. Once he moved to Fairbanks

Network Diagram And Design Management Planning
NETWORK DIAGRAM Formulating a network diagram, likewise alluded to as a logic diagram, in
order to comprehend and envision how each task will continue is an extraordinary path to begin. It is a
basic idea within project management planning that is effectively utilising as a part of application,
commonly used as a part of assembling commercial enterprises, and also to outline and comprehend
work processes are what service industries requires. It distinctively shows the rational rules for
influencing tasks. (Holland, 2014) The development of the network diagram by incorporating the

(Nishadha, 2015) Both definitions are attempting to pass on the same message, it may appear to be
inverse in light of the fact that the first definition is discussing the shortest duration whilst the second
definition is discussing the longest way. Notwithstanding, they are both the same. In this project, the
critical path is the A + B + C + G + I + J = 3 + 4 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 16 days which consists the activities
of pouring the foundation which takes 3 days; building the frame takes 4 days as well as placing the
roof; setting the rough in frame takes 2 days as well as painting the garage; and clean up takes 1 day.
To sum up, the duration of the project would take 16 working days, which means that there will be a
deduction of $100 from the $500 bonus due to the one day extra work. Having 3 days of delay in
electrical can affect the whole project. Therefore, the negotiation of 15 working days would exceed up
to 18 days, which could cause the penalty of $300 ($100 per extra day). In order to minimise a project
s critical path, sequencing of tasks should be changed. On the off chance that one can do a project s
tasks in alternate grouping to that initially proposed, one might have the capacity to shorten the critical
path. A level of intricacy by striving for shortening the critical path, which is primarily hazardous, is
unavoidably acquainted with the task. (Aydar, 2014) With a specific end goal to convey this shorter
timescale, the critical path should be controlled

Classroom Vs Traditional Classroom
In life there are always positive and negative things in life, there are always two sides to look at. In
this case I m talking about whether I think that traditional classroom setting is better for the students
or if online is better. I know I m about to contradict myself but honestly there is no right or wrong way
with going with the classroom setting. I say that because some kids learn faster or are more educated
in some things which is completely normal, no one is the same. Some kid s need that more personal or
one on one learning because there are some kids that need. Sometimes it just works out for the family
best, for example my parents travel a lot and for me to go to a traditional classroom I depended on my
parents to drive me to school every day because I don t live close for the bus to pick me up and take
me to school. There were many other reasons like the people I associated myself with because they
were the people I met my freshman year. I realized that the people I was hanging out with were not
people that I had things in common with. My freshman year I was as my 7th grade teacher said I was a
follower not a leader . Which is crazy to think because if anyone personally knows me they know I do
not like when people boss me around, if I were to work I would rather be the boss and not the
employee. People think a lot of bad things about me because my dad is a business owner and that is all
I ve ever seen him do. Which has create this monster inside of me that

The Devil And Tom Walker Romanticism
Most people have never heard of the Rationalist and Romantic movements. They are a major part in
today s literature. The story The Devil and Tom Walker by Washington Irving is a story about a man
who is conflicted with the devil and he and his wife search for wealth. The Masque of the Red Death
by Edgar Allen Poe is a short but mind twisting story about the plague of the Red Death, and people
trying to use wealth to hide themselves from it. Another amazing short story would be The Devil and
Daniel Webster by Stephen Vincent Benét which is inspired by Irving s story, and it has to do with
Jabez Stone who is stuck in a predicament with the Devil and needs to be saved. All of the stories are
Romantic movements from various different authors. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The swamp was where the Devil was in the story, The swamp was thickly grown with great gloomy
pines and hemlocks, some of them ninety feet high, which made it dark at noonday, and a retreat for
all the owls of the neighborhood (Irving 4). Tom s wife managed to get cemented in the swamp, and
later died. She would have never gone in there if it was not for Tom and his feelings about the swamp.
Tom was scared, but also wanted the money that he found out was buried in the swamp. These
feelings all came together to influence Mrs.Walker to go into the swamp where she eventually met her
demise. It is assumed in the story that the Devil killed her. She would not have died if it was not for
Tom and his incite on the swamp. Similarly, in the story of the Devil and Daniel Webster, the Devil
almost lead to the death of Daniel and Jabez. In the story of Daniel Webster, the Devil summoned
people up from Hell to help jury a case between Jabez Stone and the Devil, and with that, the fire
burned blue and the door blew open and twelve men entered, one by one (Benét 314). This illustration
shows the power that evil can have, and although it may not be the most realistic representation, the
point still stands. Jabez Stone made a deal with the Devil, and if it was not for Daniel Webster, Jabez
would not be alive. Jabez was due to give his life to the Devil because of the deal that he made with
him.

The Pros And Cons Of Parfit
Tele transportation
Parfit is known for his hypotheticals involving a potential future technology, tele transportation. This
technology is essentially a machine that allows objects and people to teleport to other locations. In
Parfits scenarios, humanity has reached a point in its technological history that humans now must
travel to Mars in a timely matter. To avoid months aboard a space shuttle on a trip from Earth to Mars,
a tele transporter is utilized. Parfits tele transporter scans the body and mental states, saves and
transports the data to another location, destroys the original body, and recreates the body and mental
states from new materials. In both scenarios there are cautions passengers who are nervous that they

He illiterates this claim by a thought experiment involving torture. In this hypothetical Williams tells
individuals that they will be tortured at noon the following day. Naturally everyone feels uneasy about
this. In order to easy this feeling, Williams tells those waiting to be tortured that before noon the
individual s entire memory will be erased. Williams argues that if memory is necessary for personal
identity, this news should put any feelings of uneasiness to rest. When asked, the individual still
reports feeling uneasy about the torture. Williams repeats this process altering the scenario from
amnesia to exchanging the memories of the individual who will be torured for those of another. Again
when prompted the individual still feels uneasy about the torture. Williams claims that this is proof of
the body being just as necessary as the memories. However, this is not a fair analysis of the situation.
When the individual is told of their torture as a matter of fact, it is a natural reaction to feel uneasy.
This is similar to feeling anxious about a public speaking event that unexpectedly gets canceled right
before taking the stage. There will remain a sense of anxiety until the event causing that feeling is
gone. Likewise, the feeling of unrest will remain present until the moment of memory loss. This
therefore fails as an example to increase the importance of the body in regards to

Reverend Hale is Not Guilty
There are usually at least a few instances when a person gets wrongfully accused of something they
did not do, whether it would be taking the last cookie out of the jar, picking their nose, or even
something to the extremity of taking someone s life. A tragic, real life example of this is when Michael
Morton got sentenced to life in prison when he was falsely accused of murdering his wife. Twenty five
years later, he was eventually exonerated from prison by the use of DNA evidence. In Arthur Miller s
The Crucible, while the witch trials were underway, situations like this were common occurrences.
The play which took place in Salem, Massachusetts, was centered around many innocent people
getting framed for witchcraft by licentious people who wanted to place blame on them due to jealousy
or hatred for the sole purpose of revenge. The rumors quickly spreading through the town caused
hysteria, defined by people behaving in an uncontrolled way due to fear or anger, eventually leading to
nineteen righteous people being hung. Reverend Hale, a supposed expert on witchcraft was one of the
main people to blame for the witch trials according to the vast majority of readers. Despite that, his
probity becomes clearer and clearer when scrutinizing the text for its true meaning. After all, he was
not responsible for the spread of the rumors about witchcraft, he began to realize the flaws in the
Salem witch trials as the story progressed, and he tried to compel everyone condemned to death

How Did Urbanization Change Throughout The 19th Century
The disease environment of a particular area can be shaped by a number of things, some of which are
economic, social, and political shifts in the area. During the 19th century as urbanization and
industrialization grew economic, social, and political changes occurred. While these major shifts
changed the dynamics of cities they also changed the dynamics of disease.
Industrialization and urbanization created a social shift that caused a new working class to emerge
which brought on new health problems, behaviors, and interactions. Many new occupations that were
brought about came with health hazards that affected the workers and the poor. Working conditions
were very unsafe and with different occupations came different ailments. For instance, chimney

Some of these changes in hospitals over time were caused by new processes emerging. When hospitals
first became institutions during the 1770 s they were seen in a negative way and they were seen that
way for a while. For example, John Howard did an inspection of Europe s hospitals around 1780 and
described hospitals as hotbeds of infection and said that surgery was known to be safer at home most
likely because hospital gangrene was a concern and led to little to no operations being performed in
hospitals. In addition, the term hospitalism which was coined by Simpson, a professor of surgery, and
was later defined by Erichsen, a surgeon, as a general morbid condition of the building, or of its
atmosphere, productive of disease led to hospitals being seen negatively. Simpson and Erichsen
believed in the destruction of contaminated hospitals. Likewise, Florence Nightingale, a miasmatist,
many hospitals were a gateway to death because of the terrible smells that they often had. Moreover,
hospitals were seen as disorderly and the nurses had no formal training so the sick were often weary of

Soviet Revolution And The Soviet War
When the USSR collapsed the Cold War was ended, along with the spread of communism. In the year
1991, the USSR lost control of several Baltic States. Harsh living conditions and oppressive policies
stirred rebellion in the people. Russian President Gorbachev tried in vain to restore power by first
withholding, vital supplies like oil and raw materials from the Baltic States, or even used force...where
hundreds of people were killed (Paxton 651). When deprivation and violence failed, Gorbachev
persuaded member republics of the USSR to sign a new union treaty establishing a looser federation
of sovereign states (Paxton 651). Although, he had meant to strengthen communism, Gorbachev s
bloody tactics lost support of progressives, as well as, conservatives. The final signature of the union
treaty was blocked by a coup led by Boris Yeltsin, later he would become president of the Russian
Federation. Secession movements brought civil war to Russia. On September sixth 1991, the Baltic
States declared full independence with heartland regions similarly minded. Now considered obsolete,
the USSR was replaced with a new Commonwealth of Independent States. Gorbachev resigned and
Yeltsin assumed control. The Soviet Union no longer existed.
Before, the Communist Soviet Union was the unifying threat that brought NATO into existence, but
now that danger was gone. NATO could accept one of two fates, it must either consider a new

The Ewells had been the disgrace of Maycomb for three generations. They were people, but they lived
like animals. Although the Cunninghams were close to it, neither families were considered to be part
of the common folk . Atticus says that Scout is part of the common people, whereas the Ewells are
part of their own society, consisting only of themselves. They were allowed to do most of what they
wanted and whenever they wanted because everyone has given up on trying to force people like the
Ewells into a new environment. The Finches are part of the common folk so the Finches are above the
Cunninghams and Ewells on the social class hierarchy. Atticus think the Ewells are like animals
because he has seen the way they lived. They hunted out of season, which was illegal, skipped school,
and wasted money. Mr. Ewell spent their relief checks on green whiskey while his children cried in
pain from hunger. Atticus opinion of the Cunninghams is better because they are kind people. They

The Creation Of The Jewish State As Part Of Palestine
Israel is a small country in southwestern Asia that was founded in 1948 as a sanctuary for Jews from
all parts of the world. Israel lies along the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea and is bordered by
Syria and Lebanon to the north, Egypt to the southwest, and Jordan to the east. Jerusalem is the capitol
and the largest city in Israel. It is considered by many faiths to be the holiest city in the world. A lot of
people think that United Nations were the one who gave birth to Israel, however in reality the United
Nations General Assembly recommended the creation of the Jewish state as part of Palestine. Many
events in the Jewish history gave purpose to create Israel. The most important were Zionism and
Holocaust, as well as end of the Second World War, where French and British have their influence on
Arab world. Genocide of the European Jews was at the horror point and led to the demand for the
Jewish State. The process of the creation of Israel started with the Zionism movement that was
happening in 1897 and ended in May of 1948. Theodor Herzl was the founder of political Zionism
movement. He published a book called The Jewish State where he was describing modern society, in
which Jewish people would be able to live in peace. Later on, Congress proposed the idea to establish
home for Jewish people in Palestine, it was promised under the international law.

Thomas Alva Edison ). Edison had good luck with money. His inventions attracted investors, who
were more than willing to invest portions of their fortunes. The massive amount of money he made
didn t seem to affect his way of thinking at all. Edison was imaginative and thought of money as little
more than a way to get things done and accomplish his plans (Mone). The inventions, productivity,
and wealth all amount to Edison s fame. His fame, unlike his wealth, did go to his head, and he tried to
convince himself that he had not changed, but he yearned for acknowledgement in the slightest
advancement towards his next invention (Stross). Even though Edison became somewhat egotistic, he
was a very remarkable man. Edison received many awards and medals during his life and even after
his death. Edison is remembered as history s greatest inventor, but should he be? Nikola Tesla is
hidden in the shadows, but if he were brought into the light, would Edison become the forgotten one?
Nikola Tesla s inventions were very simply designed, but the concepts for their workings were
complicated and hard for Americans to accept from a foreigner. Tesla was not a man

# 39 ; S Use Of The Allegory In Dante s Inferno
The Italian poet, Dante Alighieri, takes the audience on a journey through the stories of hell,
purgatory, and heaven in Dante s Inferno. Starting in hell, Dante tells the story of his journey and his
experiences, under the guidance of the classical Roman poet Virgil, as he travels through the nine
circles of hell to reach heaven. Through his very detailed descriptions of punishments, settings and
characters, the poem serves an allegorical purpose by showing one man s desperate journey from
confusion and depression to salvation. An allegory is a story with both a literal and symbolic meaning.
Dante uses an allegory in Canto I and he describes his internal struggle through the dark forest which
represents his mid life crisis.

He often has great fun tormenting sinners, while being surrounded by flames. People often picture him
as attractive, a proud rebel, one who has refused to spend his life serving God, and many have
identified with him. Even those who have portrayed him in a way that emphasizes his evil nature have
portrayed him as powerful and dangerous. But nobody pictures Satan the same way Dante does. Dante
depicts Satan as almost completely passive. Dante shows Satan being stuck in the ice in the depths of
Hell, and his only actions are to flap his wings, and thus freeze the ice in which he s stuck, to gnaw on
the sinners in his three mouths, and to weep tears and blood. Dante describes Satan as huge, and at
first Dante cannot help but be terrified of him, but his size is the only reminder of his stature when he
was Lucifer and the fairest angel in Heaven. Dante depicts him as horribly ugly with his three faces of
different colors. His former beauty was of course given to him by his Creator, so the mention of that
beauty makes it appalling that he could have rebelled against God, who made him out of nothing and
made him so beautiful. And Dante sees that he should not fear him, since he has no real power. He
cannot even stop Dante and Virgil from escaping from Hell by climbing down his body to the center
of the earth and then turning around and climbing up. The last sight Dante and Virgil

How Did Hamilton Influence George Washington
Ellis seems to be biased in his writing. He tries to be objective when explaining the relationship of
Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, by detailing Hamilton s concerns about Burr s character during a
time period where it mattered. Unlike the other figures mentioned later it is hard to contort the
perspective of Burr into a leader that needs to be revered. Ellis does however show that Burr and
Hamilton were very much alike and that many of the other political pioneers had legitimate concerns
about Hamilton s character. That is where the objectivity ends however. To Ellis, George Washington
is the catalyst that sparked the success of the country. Despite outlining his physical flaws, Ellis
believes that Washington had a vision of what the nation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not the case with Jefferson s presidency. Despite it being barely mentioned, Ellis says that
Jefferson s first term would go down as one of the most brilliantly successful in American history.
This statement implies that this success had nothing to do with Jefferson or his actions, but just
happens to be how history remembered it. Ellis goes on to state that his second term proved to be a
series of domestic tribulations and foreign policy failures. This appears confusing as he tells the reader
that Adams is not to blame for his mistakes, but Jefferson s failures fall solely on him. At this point,
Ellis throws in Adams s quote on Jefferson by noting that Jefferson was an elegant stylist, to be sure . .
. But he was not a mover and shaker, only a draftsman. This seems an odd point for Ellis to make as
the books focus is on Jefferson s efforts to eliminate Adams and the Federalists and to have his version
of history emerge as the one

The Roles Of The Progressive Movement During The...
*From the 1890s to the 1920s, America was a period full of widespread social and political reform.
Some state that the Progessive movement was a single movement that either only supported
democracy or only supported morality. However, there was no single movement, but rather a bunch of
separate reforms and movements that supported a movement towards a better America. There were
reforms that altered American life and are talked about in history classes all over the world, which I
will mention further throughout my essay. However there are less popular reforms that took place

Examples Of Irrational Fear In The Chrysalids
The Cryhsalids The Chrysalids, by John Wyndham is a novel that very clearly shows a corrupt society
that demonstrates an irrational fear of deviations and offences to their beliefs. One irrational fear in
this novel is the fear of those who are different or Blastphomes that don t fir their true image of God.
Another example of irrational fear from the novel is the fear of offences or mutated crops, and what
they will bring upon the society of Waknuk. This novel shows many cases of unreasonable and
illogical fears throughout the book. Joseph Strorm and the rest of Waknuk s people have an
impractical fear of blasphemies or mutated humans. Sophie Wender was a resident of Waknuk, she

Flood Insurance Prevention
Many homeowners feel that their house and property will always be protected as long as the annual
insurance premiums are paid on time and standard coverage is in place. However, there is a big
misconception when it comes to repairs and replacement costs for a dwelling that has suffered water
damage due to flooding. Homeowners with properties located within a floodplain typically must
purchase additional flood insurance in order to be protected from a severe loss that could leave a
household in financial ruin and without a place to live.
According to the Insurance Information Institute, It s important to note that, as a rule, homeowners

Insurance through the NFIP can only be purchased if a person s home is located within a designate
area that is at risk for potential flooding. If a property owner is unsure about their dwelling s eligibility
with the NFIP, he or she should contact the president of the local homeowner s association or check
with an insurance agency in the area. These individuals will be able to provide a map of the local flood
plains and make area residents aware of the need to purchase flood insurance.
If you are a renter or homeowner (residential policy); or business owner (non residential policy) and
your property is located in a NFIP participating community, you can purchase a policy, explained
FEMA. There is typically a 30 day wait period between when you buy a flood insurance policy and
when it goes into effect, but there are some exceptions.
During the home buying process, realtors should alert all prospective buyers if a house they are selling
is in a flood zone and therefore requires the purchase of flood insurance. This is also something a
home inspector should make note of in the report for prospective buyers. Typically bank lenders will
not sign off on a mortgage unless flood insurance is purchased and in place at the time of closing, so it
is beneficial to be aware of FEMA s 30 day wait

Introduction:
For this task I will be discussing the effects of un monitoring cost and budgets, and seeing how
business could suffer if they are not look after responsibly. I will show disadvantages of not using this
method properly.
A cost of goods is what it should spend to make products. At the start of each period budget of
production will be ready, using cost of goods and predicted production quantities. At the end of each
period a variance report is prepared to compare the budget costs with the actual costs.

there will be not enough staff to work in the supermarket, which some service can t be carried out to
customers. But because firing some staffs can help cut a lot, so they may need to take action.
Other competitors will sell more products: Because the supermarket of Gardiner Stores PLC doesn t
have that much money for input because they need to cut costs to cover the loss of profit on April, also
they make people redundant (explained above), so their competitors will take advantages on them, so
therefore they will sell more product.
Changes in costs
Variances can arise for a large number of reasons:
Errors in estimating
Poor management of resources
Unforeseen price changes
Equipment breakdown
Labor problems
Poor planning
Shortage of raw materials
Budgeting and Variance accounting presume that managers should fix problems, not bury or hide
them. It also presumes that these problems are short term problems, and can be effectively controlled
in the future. Sometimes there is a change in actual costs that necessitates a change in standard costs.
For instance, a new labor contract could increase total labor costs by a predictable amount. Standard
labor costs should be re calculated to reflect the new actual

Questions On The Energy Infrastructure
Final Examination
Question 1
The Energy infrastructure is comprised of three different segments, electricity, oil and gas; all of
which come together to provide resources to other critical Infrastructures such as the transportation,
communications, IT, finance and other infrastructures depending on them to function (DHS, 2016). In
the U.S., we rely so much on the energy infrastructure because it helps us function and survive. We
spend billions of dollars a year in energy consumption.
Without energy resources, millions of people could get hurt, some die and the economy would be
negatively affected. Our homes, offices and businesses would be left without light, a.c. and gas. Our
transportation system would be crippled, and communications would be almost impossible.
In order to acquire energy products, they have to be explored, refined and transported. What that
means is;
Exploration: This is the initial starting point of energy development. In this sector, oil locations are
found; drills and pipelines are used to absorb these resources which are then converted to other forms
of energy resources such as petroleum, gas, electricity, jet fuel and much more. Most of these
exploration locations are found in remote areas; areas like the Middle East, Mexico, and Africa, areas
hard to get to, in the middle of the sea or where no one would go.
The good thing about exploration is it makes it possible to find new locations and

Cuteness: Which are cuter, kittens or puppies, and why? It is very difficult to decide which are cuter,
kitten or puppies because both are cute and lovely. Most of the people think that both are cute. Kitten
lovers think that they are cuter than puppies but on the other side people who love the puppies are in
the favor of puppies. Puppies are cuter than kittens because they have jolly and playful nature. The
innocent eyes of the puppies grab the attention of everyone and no one can ignore the cuteness and
innocence but on the other side the innocent and cute face of kittens are adorable. The cute and soft
voice and adorable personality of the kitten are too cute to resist. Kittens are like the puffball and so
soft, therefore every one like to play with them and hold them and try to feel its fluffiness. ... Show

Rationale
My interest in the Monty Hall Problem was first sparked off when I came across a video posted by

Japanese Americans And Japanese Internment
Japanese internment camps from 1942 to 1946 were an exemplification of discrimination, many
Japanese Americans were no longer accepted in their communities after the Bombing of Pearl Harbor.
They were perceived as traitors and faced humiliation due to anti Japanese sentiment causing them to
be forced to endure several hardships such as leaving behind their properties to go an imprisoned state,
facing inadequate housing conditions, and encountering destitute institutions. The Bombing of Pearl
Harbor occurred on December 7, 1941 (Why I Love a Country that Once Betrayed Me). This led
president Roosevelt to sign the executive order 9066, which authorized the army to remove any
individual that seemed as a potential threat to the nation ( Executive Order 9066 ) This order allowed
the military to exclude any or all persons from designated areas, including the California coast.
(Fremon 31). Many Japanese opposed to leave the Pacific Coast on their own free will (Fremon 24) .
Japanese Americans would not be accepted in other areas if they moved either.Idaho s governor stated,
Japanese would be welcomed only if they were in concentration camps under guard (Fremon 35). The
camps were located in Arizona, Arkansas, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and California where
thousands of Japanese Americans eventually relocated. ( Japanese Americans at Manzanar ) The
internment lasted for 3 years and the last camp did not close until 1946. (Lessons Learned: Japanese
Internment During WW2)

Rangeland is any extensive area of land that is occupied by native herbaceous or shrubby vegetation
which is grazed by domestic or wild herbivores. Over the last couple of decades grazing of public
rangelands in the United States has become very controversial. Groups opposing has cited degradation
of public trust resources and detrimental to wildlife and plant species while advocates believe that
grazing is beneficial to the wildlife and plant species and holding up the long tradition of ranching.
However, beyond the arguments of both sides is a complex web of scientific information, ecosystem
processes, and practical issues related to grazing that must be carefully considered before judging
whether grazing is beneficial or detrimental for any given situation. In most cases the question is not
black and white, but rather a matter of weighing the expected effects of grazing against the objectives
for a particular site.
Rangelands occur on all continents, particularly in Africa, Australia and the United States. It presently
occupies about 47% of the world s land and contributes significantly to the production of ecosystem
goods and services. In Australia alone, almost 81% is classified as rangeland. In the United States 36%
is considered rangeland, with 53% located in 19 western states. At present United States rangelands
comprise approximately 770 million acres with the private sector owning more than half. Rangelands
in the United States are diverse lands from the

There are some drawbacks when using merit pay programs, such as paying some employees more than others. If you pay high performing workers more than low performing employees, the high performers may stay, causing the low performers to complain or leave the organization. A second drawback in using merit pay program is that employees become less motivated if not paid to their satisfaction. For example, if employees feel they should be making more money for their performance, this causes them to have low self esteem, and want to find employment at other organization. The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allen Poe is a short but mind twisting story about the plague of the Red Death, and people trying to use wealth to hide themselves from it. Another amazing short story would be The Devil and Daniel Webster by Stephen Vincent Benét which is inspired by Irving s story, and it has to do with Jabez Stone who is stuck in a predicament with the Devil and needs to be saved. All of the stories are Romantic movements from various different authors. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tom s wife managed to get cemented in the swamp, and later died. She would have never gone in there if it was not for Tom and his feelings about the swamp. Tom was scared, but also wanted the money that he found out was buried in the swamp. These feelings all came together to influence Mrs.Walker to go into the swamp where she eventually met her demise. It is assumed in the story that the Devil killed her. She would not have died if it was not for Tom and his incite on the swamp. Williams argues that if memory is necessary for personal identity, this news should put any feelings of uneasiness to rest. When asked, the individual still reports feeling uneasy about the torture. Williams repeats this process altering the scenario from amnesia to exchanging the memories of the individual who will be torured for those of another. Again when prompted the individual still feels uneasy about the torture. Williams claims that this is proof of the body being just as necessary as the memories. However, this is not a fair analysis of the situation. When the individual is told of their torture as a matter of fact, it is a natural reaction to feel uneasy. This is similar to feeling anxious about a public speaking event that unexpectedly gets canceled right before taking the stage. There will remain a sense of anxiety until the event causing that feeling is gone. Likewise, the feeling of unrest will remain present until the moment of memory loss. Reverend Hale is Not Guilty There are usually at least a few instances when a person gets wrongfully accused of something they did not do, whether it would be taking the last cookie out of the jar, picking their nose, or even something to the extremity of taking someone s life. A tragic, real life example of this is when Michael Morton got sentenced to life in prison when he was falsely accused of murdering his wife. Twenty five years later, he was eventually exonerated from prison by the use of DNA evidence. In Arthur Miller s The Crucible, while the witch trials were underway, situations like this were common occurrences. The play which took place in Salem, Massachusetts, was centered around many innocent people getting framed for witchcraft by licentious people who wanted to place blame on them due to jealousy or hatred for the sole purpose of revenge. The rumors quickly spreading through the town caused hysteria, defined by people behaving in an uncontrolled way due to fear or anger, eventually leading to nineteen righteous people being hung. Reverend Hale, a supposed expert on witchcraft was one of the main people to blame for the witch trials according to the vast majority of readers. Despite that, his probity becomes clearer and clearer when scrutinizing the text for its true meaning. An allegory is a story with both a literal and symbolic meaning. Dante uses an allegory in Canto I and he describes his internal struggle through the dark forest which represents his mid life crisis. People often picture him as attractive, a proud rebel, one who has refused to spend his life serving God, and many have identified with him. Even those who have portrayed him in a way that emphasizes his evil nature have portrayed him as powerful and dangerous. But nobody pictures Satan the same way Dante does. Dante depicts Satan as almost completely passive. Dante shows Satan being stuck in the ice in the depths of Hell, and his only actions are to flap his wings, and thus freeze the ice in which he s stuck, to gnaw on the sinners in his three mouths, and to weep tears and blood. Dante describes Satan as huge, and at first Dante cannot help but be terrified of him, but his size is the only reminder of his stature when he was Lucifer and the fairest angel in Heaven. Dante depicts him as horribly ugly with his three faces of different colors. His former beauty was of course given to him by his Creator, so the mention of that beauty makes it appalling that he could have rebelled against God, who made him out of nothing and made him so beautiful. And Dante sees that he should not fear him, since he has no real power. He cannot even stop Dante and Virgil from escaping from Hell by climbing down his body to the center of the earth and then turning around and climbing up. The last sight Dante and Virgil ... • 23. How Did Hamilton Influence George Washington Ellis seems to be biased in his writing. He tries to be objective when explaining the relationship of Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, by detailing Hamilton s concerns about Burr s character during a time period where it mattered. Unlike the other figures mentioned later it is hard to contort the perspective of Burr into a leader that needs to be revered. Ellis does however show that Burr and Hamilton were very much alike and that many of the other political pioneers had legitimate concerns about Hamilton s character. That is where the objectivity ends however. To Ellis, George Washington is the catalyst that sparked the success of the country. Despite it being barely mentioned, Ellis says that Jefferson s first term would go down as one of the most brilliantly successful in American history. This statement implies that this success had nothing to do with Jefferson or his actions, but just happens to be how history remembered it. Ellis goes on to state that his second term proved to be a series of domestic tribulations and foreign policy failures. This appears confusing as he tells the reader that Adams is not to blame for his mistakes, but Jefferson s failures fall solely on him. At this point, Ellis throws in Adams s quote on Jefferson by noting that Jefferson was an elegant stylist, to be sure . . . But he was not a mover and shaker, only a draftsman. Questions On The Energy Infrastructure Final Examination Question 1 The Energy infrastructure is comprised of three different segments, electricity, oil and gas; all of which come together to provide resources to other critical Infrastructures such as the transportation, communications, IT, finance and other infrastructures depending on them to function (DHS, 2016). In the U.S., we rely so much on the energy infrastructure because it helps us function and survive. We spend billions of dollars a year in energy consumption. Without energy resources, millions of people could get hurt, some die and the economy would be negatively affected. Our homes, offices and businesses would be left without light, a.c. and gas. Our transportation system would be crippled, and communications would be almost impossible. In order to acquire energy products, they have to be explored, refined and transported. What that means is; Exploration: This is the initial starting point of energy development. In this sector, oil locations are found; drills and pipelines are used to absorb these resources which are then converted to other forms of energy resources such as petroleum, gas, electricity, jet fuel and much more. Most of these exploration locations are found in remote areas; areas like the Middle East, Mexico, and Africa, areas hard to get to, in the middle of the sea or where no one would go.
