Lavar Ball Research Paper
It is a great idea that LaVar Ball is starting a basketball league to provide teens the opportunity to
bypass college and play basketball professionally.
LaVar Ball is mainly known as the father of three basketball players, Lonzo, Liangelo, and Lamelo,
also a pretentious man who claims to be better than Michael Jordan. On December 20, 2017, LaVar
Ball announced the under the complete funding of the Big Baller Brand, he would help set up the
Junior Basketball Association. The creation of the Junior Basketball Association is a great idea
considering it will give basketball players that do not want to be necessitated to continue to college to
pursue their career in playing professional basketball in the NBA. LaVar Ball is a surprisingly well

Lou Malnati s
Have you ever had a restaurant that had lots of memories, great food, and nice atmosphere with your
favorite restaurant . I have one and it is Lou malnati s. The first time I went, I was with my grandma
and we were looking for a place to eat, and we found Lou Malnati s and we have been going there
since then. I really like the place because of many reasons. One, is that they have the best deep dish
pizza, I ve had. Secondly, it has great service and atmosphere. Thirdly, is that I ve had great memories
of going with family and friends. That s why I love Lou Malnati s as my favorite restaurant.
What makes a pizza place without great food. Well Lou Malnati s has great deep dish pizza. I really
like the thick cheese and great red sauce. Also, the butter crust on the outside is really crunchy and
creamy tasting. Also, the salad is really good, where they have the fresh vegetables and those crunchy
croutons. After you re done with you main course, you can have the delicious cookie pizza. Its full of
ice cream, chocolate, and whip cream. It s all one tasty mess.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Public Goods
INTRODUCTION
PUBLIC GOODS
Public good is an item whose consumption is determined by society not by individual consumers.
Examples include national defense, law enforcement, parks. These goods are financed by taxes
because they are created for the welfare of public. Basically the goods which can be consumed
without reducing its availability to other individual and the other one is not excluded are public goods.
The vice versa of these goods are private goods. A private good is a product that must be purchased to
be consumed and its consumption is done by one individual. For instance, candies: the person who
would be purchasing them , would be having not the person did not purchased.
A public good is an item consumed by society as a whole, for instance defense. This would be for
every citizen for the country, even the person who did not pay the tax. This gives us the one
characteristic of public good that is NON EXCLUDABLE. These goods are being produced for the
welfare of the whole society rather than focusing on one individual. While ... Show more content on

But the brewery would be willing to pay the chemical factory to reduce the amount of effluent,
because this will reduce the costs of brewery industry. Such a reduction in effluent may reduce the
chemical industry s profits, as the firm s output of chemicals and the effluents are in fixed proportions
and any reduction of effluent, thus, requires a reduction in output of the chemical industry. If the
reduction in the brewery industry s costs exceeds the reduction in the chemical factory s profit, there
are potential gains from trade and the original level of effluent cannot have been efficient. This
observation leads to a possible solution to the externality problem presented by

Drying Is A Mass And Heat Transfer Process Essay
Chapter 1 : Introduction
Drying is a simultaneous mass and heat transfer process that converts a liquid, solid or semi solid
feedstock into a solid product having lower moisture content. This is usually done by applying heat to
evaporate the liquid into a vapor phase. Sometimes drying takes place below the triple point of the
liquid to be removed and the solid phase is directly converted to vapor phase via sublimation as in
case of freeze drying. [1]
As drying must involve a phase change of the liquid to be removed, it is considered as one of the most
energy intensive unit operations. This is due to the high latent heat of vaporization, as well as, the
inefficiency of using hot air as the most common drying medium. Hence, the operating cost of dryers
represents their major cost item.
Drying is an important process in many fields such as chemical, agricultural, ceramics and
pharmaceutical industries. It may be done to have free flowing solids that are easy to handle, to
facilitate the preservation and storage of different materials, to reduce the transportation costs or to
achieve desired quality of products. [2]
Regeneration of adsorptive beds is an important drying application. The operation of such beds
includes three periods. During the first period adsorption takes place till breakthrough. This is
followed by steaming period where live steam is blown through the bed to remove the adsorbate from
the solid desiccant. In the third period; regeneration period, the hot, moist

Voting Behaviour At UK Elections Is Determined More By...
Voting behaviour at UK elections is determined more by issues of personality and image than on the
basis of policies or performance in office . Discuss. In recent times it may be argued that personality
and image has played a huge part in the voting behaviour of the electorate in the UK. The personality
and image may refer to the personality of the party leader and how they present themselves in their
campaign. This is a short term factor and in a time where long term factors are not said to play a huge
role, as there is party de alignment and a change in the class structure, perceptions of party leadership
can play a huge role in determining voting behaviour. It may always have been recognised as a factor
but now its influence may have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1997, Labour were very much in touch with the electorate and focused on salient issues, whereas
the conservatives focused on issues such as trade unions and devolution which were not deemed as
salient. This benefitted Labour as they gained a huge win at this election and rather than personality
playing a huge part, it may have been their policies. Another contributing factor at this election may
have been performance in office, which in the above statement is not seen as important as personality
and image. However, performance in office may have been extremely detrimental for the
conservatives in 1997 because of their crisis in 1992. This focuses on the retrospective model, as
people saw the Conservatives as incompetent in handling the economy because of Black Wednesday
in September 1992. The Conservatives and especially Noramnt Lamont, Chancellor of the Exchequer,
were to blame for the crisis that saw the pound forced out of the ERM. This didn t help at the 1997
general election where they did extremely badly in a huge Labour win. Personality and image does
play a huge part in voting behaviour and will continue to do so in 2015, where Ed Milliband s
leadership will come into question and could affect Labour s chances a lot. However, it is still not
enough to suggest that personality and image are larger determinants in voting behaviour than on the
basis of policies or performance in office. It is difficult to see

Development Of Practice Management Software Essay
The veterinary industry is rapidly evolving with an increasing need for the most current technology.
This applies to all aspects of the field, especially practice management. The development of practice
management software allows financial and medical data, staff and patient scheduling, inventory, and
other information to be easily created, stored, and analyzed (Downing, Sirois, Thomas, 2016). There
are many software programs available today with a large variety in price and features. Finding the
right software for a practice requires time and an in depth comparison of the different programs on the
market. VIA Information Systems (referred to as VIA for the remainder) was founded in 1999 by VCA
Antech. VCAAntech is a pet healthcare service provider made up of a network of animal hospitals
and diagnostics, imaging, practice management and laboratory services nationwide (Our mission, n.d.
b). VIA offers a wide array of features to mediate accurate and efficient practice management,
including SOAP charting, treatment plans, lab integration, DICOM imaging, inventory, and electronic
flow sheets (Key features, n.d. a). The VCAAntech software provides top of the line management
services with intuitive functionality, however the services and support do come with a price. Although
VIA s website suggests contacting the company for a pricing quote, software review site Capterra.com
(n.d. c) reports a cost of approximately $2,900 per user. This can be difficult for small

Comparison Of Mythical Creatures In Arabian Nights And...
Culture differences in the world are reflected in the novels from different regions of the world.
Arabian Nights is a novel full of Arabian stories and folktales gathered from the Islamic Golden Age,
while The Journey to the West, also known as XiYouJi is a Chinese novel full of folk tales from the
Ming Dynasty. The Journey to the West is now a popular cartoon and storybook for children in China.
These two novels differ slightly in characters, and religion, and the historical context, but they both
have the same underlying principles.
Mythical creatures are almost always literary creatures that generated popularity out of literary
circulation and storytelling. They are legendary creatures that at one point were believed to be real
beings, while some have their origin traced from literary myths. The mythical creatures used in
Arabian Nights consists of Jinni, while The Journey to the West consists of mythical creatures such as
the Scorpion Demon. When comparing these creatures, a question begins to arise. Why are mythical
creatures part of literature? Mythical creatures are archetypes that form from the collective
unconscious of people. These creatures can be found in any culture at any time. They may take a
multitude of forms in both Arabian Nights and Journey to the ... Show more content on

Fashion in the 1920 s Essay
Fashion in the 1920 s
The Roaring Twenties brought many fads and fashion rages. During the 1920 s, Americans were given
the honor of being called the best dressed . Several things contributed to this honor: Affordable
pricing, mass production clothing, the birth of the flapper girl , and rise of fashionable movie stars that
Americans wanted to imitate.
The style and cut of women s clothing during the 1920 s changed drastically. Waistlines dropped
dramatically while hemlines rose scandalously. Turned down hose were no longer black, but beige.
Rouged knees, bobbed hair, and figureless figures characterized the radical flappers . These women
violated many of the rules dictating appropriate clothing and behavior for women. The ... Show more

The flapper girl trend peaked in 1926, leaving materials such as silk, chiffons, georgettes, crepes, and
voiles in high demand. Beads, sequins, and feathers also adorned the fashionable dresses. Coco
Chanel, a role model for the flapper, provided many styles, including the popular single strand of
pearls. Corsets were no longer popular, but instead the sexless figure was favored. Scarfs were often
draped over the shoulders if one could not afford a dead fox neck piece. However, the one thing that
distinguished the flapper from anyone else was the bobbed haircut. Although, efforts were made to
revive long hair, the bob remained stylish.
The fashionable flapper remained throughout the 20s, until the craze faded away with the oncoming
30s. The fads and rages of the flappers left an impression on Americans for years to come. These
radical women, who were considered immoral and distasteful, remain symbolic of the famous Roaring
20s.
The flapper fashion was borrowed by many of the women who lived in the 1920 s. But as it is with
every fashion craze, there are many different examples. The pictures that follow show some of the
other clothing items that were characteristic of the 1920 s. This beautiful velvet dress and jacket would
have been worn for an evening on the town, as would this satin hat. The purple velvet dress below also
is representative of the period. These photos are courtesy of the museum

Overall, the differentiation strategy didn t work for DigiCam, while each of the five competitors
basically buried us with their own competitive pricing.
After differentiation proved futile, DigiCam also attempted a low cost strategy. A low cost strategy
over rivals has enormous competitive power, sometimes enabling a company to achieve faster rates of
growth (Thompson, 2010, p.90). To do so, DigCam sought to attract a significant number of buyers by
having lower prices in all markets, with the exception of Latin America where the company controlled
the dominant share of the market. Although DigiCam met buyer s expectations and increased profit
and revenue, the company still failed to overcome the strategic moves conducted by the rival digital
camera companies.
Offensive and Defensive Strategies Offensive strategies enable organizations to go the attack in order
to take advantage of the weaknesses of competitors. DigiCam made efforts to employ an offensive
strategy focused on increasing the company s net revenue and profits. Since the company was already
strong in Latin America and doing well in North America, DigiCam took aim to increase sales in those
two areas requiring market growth: Europe Africa and Asia Pacific. DigiCam employed offensive
efforts to increase sales

equal to the best male hunters. Daedalus was a hero because he was the craftsman who created the
Labyrinth to keep the Minotaur captive. Wonder Woman was seen as a hero because she was seen as

Dieter s job involved a repetitive task: using a straight pole with a hook on the end to pull out the
polystyrene bin liner from each empty kiwifruit bin as it passed by on the conveyor line. After this
task, the bins moved along on the conveyor at a slow and steady pace until they reached a stacking
machine. This machine was an automatic forklift that stacked five empty bins on top of one another
ready for moving along to be loaded on to trucks for transport back to the orchard. Here they were
filled again, and the process repeated. On the night of the incident, Dieter had started his shift on time
at 11.00pm. He had been in his job for 19 days, working an average of 50 hours a week. He had his
normal break at 1.15am. At about 2.00am he missed removing a bin liner. He then left his work station
and followed that bin on its journey along the conveyor belt to try and remove the liner before the bin
was stacked by the automatic forklift. This was a practice he and other workers had observed and
carried out several times, even though they were expected to leave missed bin liners, and not leave
their work station. While Dieter was trying to retrieve the missed bin liner, he either slipped or was
knocked by one of the stacker forks, causing him to become jammed by the forks that continued to

Foucault s Panopticon
Foucault believed that knowledge is a form of power, and that ultimately, through observation you
gain power. This main idea allowed for him to realize that, once applied to the real world, knowledge
is the most powerful tool one can have. It is evident that Foucault essentially believed that with
knowledge, one can control everything around them. Furthermore, having the power to discipline and
society. The concept of panopticism developed from the idea of disciplining society. The panopticon
was an architectural design with the main purpose of being able to have visibility on everyone that
was incarcerated. Prisoners were held in cells, which surrounded a main tower controlled by either a
general guard, or the person who upholds the power. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bartky uses the idea that over time, women have slowly been breaking out of the power that men had
over them. They have somewhat freed themselves from being monitored and controlled by men. This
relates to panopticism in that the panopticon was essentially created in order to have full regulation
and oversight over prisoners, in this case, women. Disciplinary practices were being ensured in order
to have society (women) constantly productive as well as under control by a power figure. Ultimately
requiring people to behave properly and according to conduct which in turn, controlled their minds as
well as their bodies. In terms of modern surveillance, women are constantly being watched by men
even when they do not know of it. This is a disciplinary practice set by the norms society has created
for women, which is also known as the male gaze, essentially creating the docile body. Foucault s idea
of panopticism produced his concept that these disciplinary practices create docile bodies which in
essence means that people are being made into subjects. Bartky uses this to explain that this has much
to do with women and how they are being currently objectified in every way possible. An example of
this, is how women are being made objects for men in the media in order to make them look desirable.
This grants men all the

is that they do not have access to financial resources to break free. Domestic violence results in high

Essay on The Importance of Identity in Homer s Odyssey
The Importance of Identity in Homer s Odyssey
Within the epic poem The Odyssey , Homer presents the story of Odysseus s quest to find his home
and his identity. According to Homer s account, with its origin in oral tradition, the two quests are
interchangeable, as a mortal defines himself with his home, his geographic origin, his ancestors, his
offspring, etc. But in addition to this Homer illustrates the other aspect of human identity, shaped by
the individual and his actions so that he may be recognized in the outside world. Through this Homer
presents Odysseus in two ways: the first his internally given identity as ruler and native of Ithaca, son
of Laertes, father of Telemachos; the second the definition of the external world ... Show more content

Homer presents this clearly in the following instances: Helen s description of Odysseus disguising
himself to enter into the city of Troy and in doing so gaining information that would allow him to
destroy his mortal enemies, a trademark ploy that he also uses when returning to his homeland of
Ithaca to infiltrate the rank of suitors; additionally in the sequence with the Cyclops in which
Odysseus eludes danger by taking on the guise of Noman or one without a name .
For Odysseus, the ability to disguise his identity presents an opportunity through which he can
conquer his enemies at Troy and thereby establish great fame and external identity through public
recognition. Through the voice of Helen, Homer demonstrates how Odysseus became so
unrecognizable that he was able to enter into Troy, defying both his mortal enemies and the immortal
Poseidon who built Troy s walls to be impenetrable:
But what a deed this one mighty man did and dared...
When he had submitted himself to disfiguring blows,
He threw a poor covering over his shoulders and in the likeness
Of a servant he entered the enemy s broad streeted city...
In that guise he entered the city of the Trojans. They all
Overlooked him. I alone recognized him as he was.
And I questioned him. He eluded me cunningly,

America Explain....?????? King William s War only had a few conflicts between the French and the
English in the northern part of New England. More significant conflicts erupted after King George s
war and that lead to the relations of the English and French colonies and the Iroquois to decrease
dramatically. The English and the French had conflicts increased greatly. So, the governor of Virginia
sent George Washington and some troops to the Ohio Valley to question the expansion of the French
land. George Washington lost the attack and decided to build a Fort of Necessity. Then the French
attacked the Fort of Necessity and George Washington surrendered. As a prominent British exclaimed,
The volley of a young Virginian in the backwoods of America set the world on fire . The Fort
Necessity was an important event that started the French and Indian war. If one domino feels then the
rest of them would follow causing the war. After that, there was disarray among the countries and
colonies. There were three stages to the French and Indian war. The first stage was Fort Necessity and
Europe s expanding of the land. The Iroquois weren t that involved with the war. The Native American
tribes were allies with French. A series of raids were launched on the English part the

Comparing Power In Animal Farm And Inner Circle
People can be labeled as less equal than others in different societal eyes. This is portrayed in both
Animal Farm by George Orwell and the film Inner Circle by the way the characters act during
tragedies of the Russian Revolution. They both have like thematic messages intertwined into their
plots. In both works, the theme that mindless followers and too trusting of people can lead to abuse of
power are shown. Another theme showed, more in Animal Farm is that absolute power is not always
the answer. There are two pivotal characters in both of these works that provide the roll of the
mindless followers that are in over their heads. First of all, there is Boxer in Animal Farm. Like many
of the animals in this novel, Boxer treats Napoleon like royalty and thinks that everything he is
contributing to the farm is for the good of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is portrayed with Boxer s motto of Napoleon is always right . Similarly in Inner Circle, the
character Ivan in specific, really grasps onto this theme. At the beginning of the film, he does not even
really like Stalin, but once he gets close and is surrounded by people who worship the ground he
walks on, his mind begins to blur and he starts to see Stalin as the others see him; like a god. Boxer
and Ivan thought this way because these harsh leaders brainwashed their people and animals to make
them think that everything they were doing was for the good of the citizens, not just to benefit
themselves. Like Ivan and boxer, Katya was also extremely impressionable. She began to think that
everything Stalin did for her by taking her away from her parents was a good thing and that he saved
her life. Boxer has similar beliefs, as he trusts Napoleon when he convinces him that Snowball is not
to be trusted because he has rebelled, like Katya s parents. Adding on, these characters that are being
brainwashed and following such monsters

There were a political, social, and military outcomes of the Tet offensive. Politically, it ended Lyndon

The Greek Of Greek Tragedy
Luke Allis, Greek Theatre
Ancient Greek tragedy is still relevant today because the themes and issues expressed within it are still
present in the 21st century such as undeserved suffering, death and relationships. The greeks produced
many great works of art and theatre as well as revolutionising politics, ethics, aesthetics and
philosophy with philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle and their theories such as their theories on
form and Catharsis.
Many people suggest that modern day theatre and performance is derived directly from Ancient Greek
Theatre and Myths. Just life we do with politics, ethics, aesthetics and philosophy look to the greeks
as the founders and while it is possible that this is true this itself is also a myth. The ancient greek
empire ended almost 150 years BC, about 2066 years ago. In that time a lot of information regarding it
and it s theatre has been lost or distorted (such as the destruction of The Library Of Alexandria) and
thus we can t be certain that the information is 100% correct which means that this itself is a myth, we
have evidence that points towards theatre originating from Ancient Greece but we can t be certain
because there is also evidence pointing toward it originating from various other cultures from around
the world such as the Egyptian Coronation Festival Play 3100 BC (History of theatre timeline,
Glencoe.com) or primitive tribal dances and religious rituals dating even earlier than that.

The Importance Of Internet Censorship In China
We have all been on our usual search engine and clicked on the random news articles. Whether it be
Kim Kardashian s holiday or the controversy between Donald Trump and the Russian president. We
are free to roam the internet here in Australia without the thought of someone stalking our searches.
However, some countries strictly limit the information the public is exposed to. Specifically, China s
internet relies on censoring content to protect the public from cybercrimes and preventing the leakage
of information about the country. But is censorship in China implemented to do harm to its society, or
purely to protect it? What is the extent of China s internet censorship that is actually necessary for
societal protection?
What is censorship in China?
Censorship is a way to control the information the public in China is able to see. Web chats, search
engines and social media platforms are the main aspects censored on the Chinese internet.
Controversial and belittling content are sought out by human and technical censors to be removed.
The Great Firewall is the main technical way the Chinese government is able to censor various aspects
of the internet and was initiated by China s Ministry of Public Security. Social media platforms such
as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are censored as one can search up, for example, how to overthrow
the government, as stated by Jason Q. Ing, a researcher who delves deep into the Chinese internet to
understand the mysteries behind censorship . A

Open Boat Naturalism
Naturalism is the story that human characters struggle and experience from natural forces which are
unable to control. There are four characteristics of Naturalism and those are in The Open Boat and To
Build a Fire .
First, Naturalism has four determinism; mechanical determinism, biological determinism,
psychological determinism, and social determinism. Especially, The Open Boat has psychological and
biological determinism and To Build a Fire has biological determinism. In The Open Boat , the
captain, the cook, the oiler and the correspondent are in psychological rollercoaster. Their
psychological process is from anger to crying for mercy. And in that biological determinism, the
characters are in exhausted and depleted conditions from not controlling the sea. In To Build a Fire , it
shows human s biological limitation about food and temperature. He tries to resist the freezing cold
and build a fire desperately to avoid icing of his body. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Contrast to Realism which attempts to satisfy the explanation of character through last name, first

people are called by their jobs. But Billy dies at the end, although he did an important role on the boat.

Shapley-Curtis Argumentative Essay
Before the Shapley Curtis Debate most people were under the impression that the sun was the center
of the galaxy, and the universe. Most people couldn t grasp the idea that there was a bigger world in
space beyond our planet, the sun and our moon. While we saw stars in the night sky, the idea that our
universe was as vast and complex as it is seemed unreasonable. In 1920, Harlow Shapley showed just
how vast the Milky Way was. However Shapley did not believe that there was anything more to our
universe than our galaxy. He believed that because it was so big that nothing else could possibly be
out there. His opponent, Heber Curtis, argued that the Milky Way galaxy was not as big as Shapley
said, but that he believed that there was more to the universe than just our galaxy. ... Show more

Curtis argued that while yes, the Milky Way did spin much like a whirlpool, the spiral nebulae were
not on the same level that the Milky Way is, and like the whirlpool the nebulae were like birds that
flew over the water of the whirlpool. With this in mind Curtis argued that the nebulae had to be
outside of our galaxy, and since they spun similar to the Milky Way, he believed that they were
separate galaxies much like our own.
It was Shapley s argument that some of the stars in the spiral nebulae had to be huge because of how
bright they were and that they had to be very far away. He was correct in this argument; however
Curtis was also correct that the same stars might be doing something different than what Shapley
thought they were. Curtis suggested that these stars could be undergoing something new and different.

Analysis Of The Book The Secret Life Of Bees
Reading Response Kaitlyn Baker
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
The biggest pull factor that brought me to reading The Secret Life of Bees, is the fact that it is set in a
time when racial separation was very much still alive in America. So when I began my journey on
reading the novel, it was quickly clear that I was going to thoroughly enjoy it. The story follows a
young white girl, Lily, whose life revolves around unravelling the faded memory of her killing her
mother, and her new life with her abusive father. It is the story of Lily blossoming into adolescence, in
a time where racial separation is still a big issue. Lily s journey to find something, anything, about her
mother s death is something I think is a large part of why this novel is so mesmerizing to read. Lily s
loyalty of trying to piece it together makes this story moving, but not depressing. I think it is uplifting,
full of heart, inspiring, and warm. I think Kidd, the author, has perfectly captured the awkward
restlessness of a teenager, longing for love, yearning to discover, but at the same time fearful of what
truth could emerge. Seeing Lily s almost desperate longing for any kind of a mother figure is
something that truly broke my heart. It made me think about how I am so blessed in my life to have
such a strong mother figure, and I hope no one has to go through life without some kind of motherly
guidance. I often got the feeling of Lily s deep desire for nurturance, which can be owed to the

How Did Theodore Roethke Influence Poetry
Theodore Roethke once said, By daily dying, I have come to be. While many poems of the 1930 50 s
era consisted of high minded, august ideas, Theodore Roethke (perhaps taking a note from Robert
Frost) took a different approach. Many people related to Theodore Roethke s raw and powerful words
rather than the opulent thoughts of other poets. The psychological trauma Theodore Roethke received
as a child affected his emotional state and in turn his poetry until the day he died. Throughout his
childhood, Theodore Roethke was heavily influenced and controlled by his militant father. He was
abused both physically and mentally and expected to go into his father s line of work, of which
Roethke had no interest. Roethke wanted to go into higher learning, but his father did not support him.

Professor F.A. Kunz described his three personal reasons for the Senates existence: The committees

public accounts and departmental estimates; and to inquire. However, Kunz s first requirement of the

this in 1965. Additionally, Kudz s second point is that the senate must scrutinize public accounts and

Executive Summary
With today s society stressing a greater demand for flexibility, and ease of access to goods and
services, a trend has emerged for extended trading hours for service organizations. One of the main
profiteers of this trend is gym franchises. With over 1 billion people in the global population being
overweight, and the still present economic uncertainty leading to longer working hours for most
people, there is a demand for less rigid opening and closing hours of gyms. Consequently, the boom of

Jetts has received a Canstar award two years running. For the years of 2012 and 2013, Jetts was voted
as the No.1 gym chain in Australia for customer satisfaction. (Jetts, 2014)
Another similarly competitive gym is Stepz. As well as operating 24/7, Stepz is entirely Australia
owned, with clubs only within Australia. While this, to some people, would be a selling point, it also
poses a threat to Stepz whereby is creates less convenience for its patrons by having fewer clubs
members can attend (see figure 1.2). (Stepz, 2014)
A Stepz Memberships costs $13 a week, with a one off joining fee of $89, payable upfront and an
access card fee of $55, with which the member has access to any Stepz club Australia wide. (Stepz,
2014)
As too with Jetts, Stepz has no membership perks for gym members that exist outside the gym, i.e.,
retail discounts, etc.
Stepz employs a tactic whereby the number of members allowed to enrol in each club is limited. This
is done to provide the members with a more personalized service, and the staff can cater to the
members needs more specifically. Also, by limiting the number of patrons, it ensures that there will
rarely be a wait time to use gym equipment. (Stepz, 2014)
In today s market, there exist other types of rival services in the gym racket. Not gyms that offer round
the clock service, rather gyms that cater specifically to the specialty needs of their patrons gyms such

They tell them the decisions they make will guide how they live. From the time their children are
teenagers through the time they finish high school they start learning how to make choices in life.
Children start thinking about what they want to be, a doctor, nurse or a police. What college we want
to attend or what trade school do we want to attend. Next we start thinking about where we want to
work when we finish school, a hospital, private company, or even a bank. Later, we may start thinking
about whether we want to have a family or we may already have a family and need to know how we
are only to take care of our family. These are choices we will make but none of them will be honorable
decisions or good choices if we do not follow through. That means we have to committee ourselves to
the decision we made, whether going to school or starting a career. If going to school is the choice
made, there need to be set times for studying, doing class assignments, homework, and getting good
grades. If time is set aside for school and commitment is made, there will be success in school because
you showed responsibility to finish your assignments, studying, and getting good grades, this shows
responsibility because you completed what you started. College success depends on serious
commitment to your classes, teachers, and participation. If you put in the time, effort, and study you

Explain How To Get Rid Of An Ugly Tree Stump
Ways To Remove An Ugly Tree Stump From Your Yard
If you lose a tree due to a storm or disease, you may be able to chop up most of the tree for easy
disposal, but you re still faced with the problem of stump removal. Getting rid of tree stumps is
difficult because of their size and the fact they are firmly rooted into the ground. Getting the stump out
of the ground is hard enough, but then you have to figure out what to do with it. Here s what you need
to know.
Why You Should Remove A Stump
If you have a huge yard and the tree stump is in a back corner, it may be acceptable to let it
decompose naturally over a period of years. If the stump is in your front yard, you should probably get
rid of it to keep it from being an eyesore. Even if you get it shaved down close to the soil, it still looks
bad. You can try to cover it with potted plants or yard ornaments, but you can t really hide the fact you
have an ugly tree stump in your yard. Another reason to get rid of a stump is so it won t attract ants
and termites. You don t want a big colony of carpenter ants to take up residence in your yard and
wander into your house to set up satellite nests. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That takes a lot of work even if you have a tractor or truck to help. The big problem with pulling up a
big stump is how you re going to dispose of it. You may have to pay a fee if you haul it to the dump.
First, you have to figure out how to lift and transport it. Unless you live in the country and can toss the
stump out of the way or bury it out of sight, it may be better to destroy the stump while it s still in
place.

The Importance Of Kindergarten Readiness
Some may base a young child s kindergarten readiness on mental abilities or academic skills. A skill
that is just as important is a child s self regulation. Self regulation in young children involves the
ability to control behaviors, emotions, attention, and thinking. Self regulation is a theory, so there isn t
a single satisfactory definition of the term created by developmentalists. In order to track a child s
progress in terms of their self regulation skill, as well as other domains, it is appropriate protocol to
observe and assess children.
A child s success in academic and social domains during kindergarten relies on the child s
kindergarten readiness. Kindergarten readiness is not solely based on academic abilities; it also
depends on other aspects, such as the essential skill of self regulation. In the article Refining the
Preschool Self regulation Assessment for Use in Preschool Classrooms, the authors found that there is
a growing interest in young children s self regulation skills. One goal of the authors was to examine

The use of the *find out what kind of word it is* unpecked has connotations to the idea of virginity
when paired with the noun cherries , and presents the image of something that is untouched and pure.
This would all change once the girls had been subjected to the goblin fruits. If we take the
consumption of the goblin fruits as the loss of innocence and, in this case, virginity, then the poem can
be seen as a warning to Victorian society about the dangers of temptation. If we look at the fable of
Jeanie within the poem, she was tempted by the goblin fruits, which resulted in her becoming ill and
dying. The Victorians didn t like to talk about sex, but they were fascinated with it. This links back to
Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit and the idea of temptation, as Jeanette has to keep her relationships
with Melanie and Katy, and her sexuality hidden, due to the forbidden nature of it, and the views of
the church community. This in turn links back to the idea of forbidden fruit that Adam and Eve
consumed, which caused them to be thrown from the Garden of Eden, and the idea of Paradise. This
comes back full circle to the idea of the forbidden fruit of the

long drive. Once that night came its was about 5:00 when we left the house super early. We left our
house and had a 16 hour drive ahead of us.
Most of the time in the car me and my brother slept or watched movies on our laptop. Most of the time
when we were sleeping or watching movies time went by pretty fast. I can hardly remember the ride
there but i know it was a long drive because that was the last time my dad went with us. He said The
car ride was horrible and i m not gonna do that again . But little did we know just a few years later he
was like I m working so much that i need a vacation who wants to go to florida .
Once we got into florida there is this stop on the edge of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The place we went wasn t a restaurant it s just a little hut that our hotel has out by the pool deck. We
ordered a lot of chicken strips. Once we got our meal we went back to the room to eat it. We ate and
got done cleaned up. We still had some daylight so we decided to go back to the beach. It soon became
6:30 and it was getting dark so we all went to the room. We watched a movie a long movie it was. And
when that was done we all just went to bed.
The next day was our last day in Daytona, it was kind of short but we were going somewhere better.
As the day was getting started though we were all going to eat breakfast. After breakfast we got
dressed and went to the pool we just hung out there for a few hours and then went to the ocean. It soon
became lunch so my mom made sandwiches. We ate them and didn t want to go swimming anymore.
So we all went got in the car and drove around to see what everything there is like. We stayed out for
the rest of the day went to a restaurant ate dinner and came back to the hotel and went to

Essay On Lipid Based Carry System
As of late, a lot of intrigue has been focussed on lipid based carries systems. The most prevalent
approach is the fuse of the active poorly water dissolvable part into inert lipid vehicles, for example,
oils, surfactant dispersions, solid dispersions, solid lipid nanoparticles, emulsions, micro emulsions,
Nano emulsions, self emulsifying plans (SEF), micro/nanoemulsifying formulations, and liposomes.
The essential component of activity by which a lipid formulation prompts enhanced bioavailability is
typically avoidance of a slow dissolution process which constrains the bioavailability of hydrophobic
drugs from solid dose frames (Shweta Gupta, 2013). Ideally the plan enables the drug to stay in a
dissolved state all through its travel in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Regardless of the extensive potential that these lipid excipients offer, not very many lipids based
Formulations have achieved the pharmaceutical commercial place. This might be because of the
inadequate data with respect to the generally complex physical science of lipids and worries about
figured drugs substance and physical stability. In addition to these concerns, the interaction of a lipid
based formulation with the GI condition and its effect on drug absorption is also important. For
example, edible lipids have been appeared to be extensively more productive enhancers of poorly
soluble drug ingestion, as compared to nondigestible lipids (e.g., liquid paraffin). Unsaturated fat
chain length of the lipid likewise impacts drug absorption. Both long and medium chain triglyceride
oils with various degrees of saturation have been utilized for the design of self emulsifying
formulations.
2. Surfactants: The self emulsifying properties require the incorporation of moderately a lot of
surfactant in the formulation notwithstanding the oily drug carrier vehicle. The surfactants may
improve the affinity between lipids and intestinal membrane or increase the permeability of the
intestinal membrane (Gershanik T, 2000). Surfactants increment the

Summary Of The Old Man And The Sea
The Old Man and the Sea
Title: The title of this book is The Old Man and the Sea. The title alone is quite bland and does not
spark my interest, but the story itself is very interesting. The title of the story is self explanatory in
regards to the main character and setting, but the storyline and plot are quite complex. That being said,
the title fits well with the story, and gives the reader a general vision to being with.
Author: The author of The Old Man and the Sea is Ernest Hemingway. Hemingway is a huge part of
literary history, and was known as an American novelist, short story writer, and journalist. He also
wrote great books such as For Whom the Bell Tolls , The Garden of Eden , and A Farewell to Arms . I
have not read any other books by this author.
Type of Book: This type of book is nonfiction. This reading would interest an audience that favors
suspense and tragedy. Though I do not typically read books of this genre, this story has actually
inspired my to read more books written by this author.
Characters: The main characters in this book are Santiago (the old man), Manolin (the old man s
sidekick), and the marlin (the fish the old man catches). Santiago goes on a much needed fishing trip,
and finds out a lot about himself during this small escape. Manolin shares these moments with
Santiago, while providing him with a good companion during the trip. One other character that played
a part in the story is baseball great Joe DiMaggio, whom

Analysis Of F. Scott Fitzgerald
F. Scott Fitzgerald was an American author who was known for his novels that generally take place
during the Jazz Age after World War I. His use of similes add deeper imagery and to emphasize certain
descriptions that are necessary to understand in his distinctive writing style. Fitzgerald incorporated a
lot of his own personal life into his works; his struggles with alcoholism, mental disorders and marital
problems are generally thrown into almost all his novels. Many of his stories can be read for their
symbolic qualities. Therefore, F. Scott Fitzgerald was popular for using uncommon and intricate
descriptions to help the reader better grasp what is going on in the story.
When F. Scott Fitzgerald was twenty three, he published his first novel This Side of Paradise which
tells the life of Amory Blaine from his childhood to his young adulthood who travels out to New
England to attend a boarding school and, later on, Princeton. This type of novel is known in the
literary world as a Bildungsroman which is a novel of personal and moral formation. Fitzgerald
demonstrates his unique voice and style and even includes poetry and theater within the work
(Quiklit). At the beginning of the story, Amory acts like a selfish and spoiled child. But as he gets
older, he becomes aware of his over inflated ego and begins to ponder on how he could become a
better person. He tries religion but it doesn t really satisfy him and his intimate relationship with

A Tale Of Two Cities Chapter 3 Essay
The following extract from chapter three is an example of how the supernatural and the scientific are
continuously contrasting in the novel:
In your opinion there is a diabolical agency which makes Dartmoor an unsafe abode for a Baskerville
that is your opinion? At least I might go the length of saying that there is some evidence that this may
be so. Exactly. But surely, if your supernatural theory be correct, it could work the young man evil in
London as easily as in Devonshire. A devil ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this part, he shows incredulity and thinks that such thing must be the work of something
supernatural. Watson s comparison of Holmes and the people living in the Dartmoor enhances again
this contrast between the city detective who appeals more to science and the superstitious servants that
give paranormal meanings to the howl of a dog. A contradiction with Watson s ideas can also be seen
in this extract. He first claims to have common sense and that is what makes him deny the existence of
the hound, but then after reflecting on what he had heard, he justifies this saying that facts are facts
and this generates doubts and confusion in his mind. It is important to notice how Doyle develops a
mysterious and frightening scene in our minds the moment we imagine how terrifying must be to hear
such sound that even Watson, another man of science, starts to doubt about the existence of this
enigmatic and evil

Character Analysis Of Tom Robinson In To Kill A...
In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee she uses the characters to show the way the United States was
back in the 1930 s. By for shadowing a young girls chilled hood and how this family has never done
anything wrong in there lives so they are like mockingbirds so if you harm them its like a sin. and like
Tom Robinson who is a African American who had never done one thing wrong in his life and he is
being convicted on a crime he never did or was able to comfit because he is a carpal so when he is
convicted its because of his collier witch is wrong so he is like a mocking bird to.so it is pretty much
saying that if you hurt someone that has never done anything wrong in there life then it is like a bad
sin ans you are not a good person. Atticus

What Is The Seven Commandments In Animal Farm
Within the story Animal Farm by George Orwell is a farm that gets overrun by the animals when they
rebel against their owner, Mr. Jones. After this rebellion, the animals decide to work for none other but
themselves and create a society based off of seven commandments that will prevent the animals from
becoming like the humans beings. Even though the animals begin to work for themselves, the pigs and
dogs within the Animal Farm become first class and gain more privileges than the rest of the animals,
which become the working class for farm. With the continuation of the plot, we begin realize that the
society, with every animal being equal, that was supposed to be imposed within the farm begins to
transition back to the way the farm was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With every commandment broken, the written rules on the tarred wall were changed in order for
Napoleon and other pigs to get away with breaking the original commandments. With most of the
animals being illiterate and barely knowing the alphabet, it was even easier for Napoleon and the other
pigs to break them without confrontation from the rest of the animals on the farm. Eventually, the
commandments became: Two legs good, four legs better, no animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets, no
animal shall drink alcohol to excess, no animal shall kill any other animal without cause. Eventually in
order to allow the pigs to have more power and privilege over the other animals, all the
commandments were replaced with just one phrase: animals are equal, but some animals are more
equal than others. The changing of the rules represents how Napoleon has changed throughout the
story. At the beginning he was equal with everyone including Snowball, but because of his natural
leadership, he s taken the role of being a superior to all the other animals and doing things that go
against the original commandments of the Animal

  • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Public Goods INTRODUCTION PUBLIC GOODS Public good is an item whose consumption is determined by society not by individual consumers. Examples include national defense, law enforcement, parks. These goods are financed by taxes because they are created for the welfare of public. Basically the goods which can be consumed without reducing its availability to other individual and the other one is not excluded are public goods. The vice versa of these goods are private goods. A private good is a product that must be purchased to be consumed and its consumption is done by one individual. For instance, candies: the person who would be purchasing them , would be having not the person did not purchased. A public good is an item consumed by society as a whole, for instance defense. This would be for every citizen for the country, even the person who did not pay the tax. This gives us the one characteristic of public good that is NON EXCLUDABLE. These goods are being produced for the welfare of the whole society rather than focusing on one individual. While ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such a reduction in effluent may reduce the chemical industry s profits, as the firm s output of chemicals and the effluents are in fixed proportions and any reduction of effluent, thus, requires a reduction in output of the chemical industry. If the reduction in the brewery industry s costs exceeds the reduction in the chemical factory s profit, there are potential gains from trade and the original level of effluent cannot have been efficient. • 5. Drying Is A Mass And Heat Transfer Process Essay Chapter 1 : Introduction Drying is a simultaneous mass and heat transfer process that converts a liquid, solid or semi solid feedstock into a solid product having lower moisture content. This is usually done by applying heat to evaporate the liquid into a vapor phase. Sometimes drying takes place below the triple point of the liquid to be removed and the solid phase is directly converted to vapor phase via sublimation as in case of freeze drying. [1] As drying must involve a phase change of the liquid to be removed, it is considered as one of the most energy intensive unit operations. This is due to the high latent heat of vaporization, as well as, the inefficiency of using hot air as the most common drying medium. Hence, the operating cost of dryers represents their major cost item. Drying is an important process in many fields such as chemical, agricultural, ceramics and pharmaceutical industries. It may be done to have free flowing solids that are easy to handle, to facilitate the preservation and storage of different materials, to reduce the transportation costs or to achieve desired quality of products. [2] Regeneration of adsorptive beds is an important drying application. The operation of such beds includes three periods. During the first period adsorption takes place till breakthrough. This is followed by steaming period where live steam is blown through the bed to remove the adsorbate from the solid desiccant. In the third period; regeneration period, the hot, moist ... • 6. Voting Behaviour At UK Elections Is Determined More By... Voting behaviour at UK elections is determined more by issues of personality and image than on the basis of policies or performance in office . Discuss. In recent times it may be argued that personality and image has played a huge part in the voting behaviour of the electorate in the UK. The personality and image may refer to the personality of the party leader and how they present themselves in their campaign. This is a short term factor and in a time where long term factors are not said to play a huge role, as there is party de alignment and a change in the class structure, perceptions of party leadership can play a huge role in determining voting behaviour. It may always have been recognised as a factor but now its influence may have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1997, Labour were very much in touch with the electorate and focused on salient issues, whereas the conservatives focused on issues such as trade unions and devolution which were not deemed as salient. This benefitted Labour as they gained a huge win at this election and rather than personality playing a huge part, it may have been their policies. Another contributing factor at this election may have been performance in office, which in the above statement is not seen as important as personality and image. However, performance in office may have been extremely detrimental for the conservatives in 1997 because of their crisis in 1992. This focuses on the retrospective model, as people saw the Conservatives as incompetent in handling the economy because of Black Wednesday in September 1992. The Conservatives and especially Noramnt Lamont, Chancellor of the Exchequer, were to blame for the crisis that saw the pound forced out of the ERM. This didn t help at the 1997 general election where they did extremely badly in a huge Labour win. Personality and image does play a huge part in voting behaviour and will continue to do so in 2015, where Ed Milliband s leadership will come into question and could affect Labour s chances a lot. However, it is still not enough to suggest that personality and image are larger determinants in voting behaviour than on the basis of policies or performance in office. It is difficult to see ... The development of practice management software allows financial and medical data, staff and patient scheduling, inventory, and other information to be easily created, stored, and analyzed (Downing, Sirois, Thomas, 2016). There are many software programs available today with a large variety in price and features. Arabian Nights is a novel full of Arabian stories and folktales gathered from the Islamic Golden Age, while The Journey to the West, also known as XiYouJi is a Chinese novel full of folk tales from the Ming Dynasty. • 9. Fashion in the 1920 s Essay Fashion in the 1920 s The Roaring Twenties brought many fads and fashion rages. During the 1920 s, Americans were given the honor of being called the best dressed . Several things contributed to this honor: Affordable pricing, mass production clothing, the birth of the flapper girl , and rise of fashionable movie stars that Americans wanted to imitate. The style and cut of women s clothing during the 1920 s changed drastically. Waistlines dropped dramatically while hemlines rose scandalously. Turned down hose were no longer black, but beige. Beads, sequins, and feathers also adorned the fashionable dresses. Coco Chanel, a role model for the flapper, provided many styles, including the popular single strand of pearls. Corsets were no longer popular, but instead the sexless figure was favored. Scarfs were often draped over the shoulders if one could not afford a dead fox neck piece. However, the one thing that distinguished the flapper from anyone else was the bobbed haircut. Although, efforts were made to revive long hair, the bob remained stylish. The fashionable flapper remained throughout the 20s, until the craze faded away with the oncoming 30s. The fads and rages of the flappers left an impression on Americans for years to come. These radical women, who were considered immoral and distasteful, remain symbolic of the famous Roaring 20s. The flapper fashion was borrowed by many of the women who lived in the 1920 s. But as it is with every fashion craze, there are many different examples. The pictures that follow show some of the other clothing items that were characteristic of the 1920 s. This machine was an automatic forklift that stacked five empty bins on top of one another ready for moving along to be loaded on to trucks for transport back to the orchard. Bartky uses the idea that over time, women have slowly been breaking out of the power that men had over them. They have somewhat freed themselves from being monitored and controlled by men. This relates to panopticism in that the panopticon was essentially created in order to have full regulation and oversight over prisoners, in this case, women. Disciplinary practices were being ensured in order to have society (women) constantly productive as well as under control by a power figure. Ultimately requiring people to behave properly and according to conduct which in turn, controlled their minds as well as their bodies. In terms of modern surveillance, women are constantly being watched by men even when they do not know of it. This is a disciplinary practice set by the norms society has created for women, which is also known as the male gaze, essentially creating the docile body. Foucault s idea of panopticism produced his concept that these disciplinary practices create docile bodies which in essence means that people are being made into subjects. An example of this, is how women are being made objects for men in the media in order to make them look desirable. This grants men all the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to Homer s account, with its origin in oral tradition, the two quests are interchangeable, as a mortal defines himself with his home, his geographic origin, his ancestors, his offspring, etc. But in addition to this Homer illustrates the other aspect of human identity, shaped by the individual and his actions so that he may be recognized in the outside world. Through this Homer presents Odysseus in two ways: the first his internally given identity as ruler and native of Ithaca, son of Laertes, father of Telemachos; the second the definition of the external world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Homer presents this clearly in the following instances: Helen s description of Odysseus disguising himself to enter into the city of Troy and in doing so gaining information that would allow him to destroy his mortal enemies, a trademark ploy that he also uses when returning to his homeland of Ithaca to infiltrate the rank of suitors; additionally in the sequence with the Cyclops in which Odysseus eludes danger by taking on the guise of Noman or one without a name . For Odysseus, the ability to disguise his identity presents an opportunity through which he can conquer his enemies at Troy and thereby establish great fame and external identity through public recognition. Through the voice of Helen, Homer demonstrates how Odysseus became so unrecognizable that he was able to enter into Troy, defying both his mortal enemies and the immortal Poseidon who built Troy s walls to be impenetrable: But what a deed this one mighty man did and dared... When he had submitted himself to disfiguring blows, He threw a poor covering over his shoulders and in the likeness Of a servant he entered the enemy s broad streeted city... In that guise he entered the city of the Trojans. They all Overlooked him. I alone recognized him as he was. And I questioned him. He eluded me cunningly, But when I was

We are free to roam the internet here in Australia without the thought of someone stalking our searches. However, some countries strictly limit the information the public is exposed to. Specifically, China s internet relies on censoring content to protect the public from cybercrimes and preventing the leakage of information about the country. But is censorship in China implemented to do harm to its society, or purely to protect it? What is the extent of China s internet censorship that is actually necessary for societal protection? What is censorship in China? Censorship is a way to control the information the public in China is able to see. Most people couldn t grasp the idea that there was a bigger world in space beyond our planet, the sun and our moon. While we saw stars in the night sky, the idea that our universe was as vast and complex as it is seemed unreasonable. In 1920, Harlow Shapley showed just how vast the Milky Way was. However Shapley did not believe that there was anything more to our universe than our galaxy. He believed that because it was so big that nothing else could possibly be out there. Analysis Of The Book The Secret Life Of Bees Reading Response Kaitlyn Baker The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd The biggest pull factor that brought me to reading The Secret Life of Bees, is the fact that it is set in a time when racial separation was very much still alive in America. So when I began my journey on reading the novel, it was quickly clear that I was going to thoroughly enjoy it. The story follows a young white girl, Lily, whose life revolves around unravelling the faded memory of her killing her mother, and her new life with her abusive father. It is the story of Lily blossoming into adolescence, in a time where racial separation is still a big issue. Lily s journey to find something, anything, about her mother s death is something I think is a large part of why this novel is so mesmerizing to read. Lily s loyalty of trying to piece it together makes this story moving, but not depressing. I think it is uplifting, full of heart, inspiring, and warm. I think Kidd, the author, has perfectly captured the awkward restlessness of a teenager, longing for love, yearning to discover, but at the same time fearful of what truth could emerge. Seeing Lily s almost desperate longing for any kind of a mother figure is something that truly broke my heart. It made me think about how I am so blessed in my life to have such a strong mother figure, and I hope no one has to go through life without some kind of motherly guidance. • 44. Essay On Lipid Based Carry System As of late, a lot of intrigue has been focussed on lipid based carries systems. The most prevalent approach is the fuse of the active poorly water dissolvable part into inert lipid vehicles, for example, oils, surfactant dispersions, solid dispersions, solid lipid nanoparticles, emulsions, micro emulsions, Nano emulsions, self emulsifying plans (SEF), micro/nanoemulsifying formulations, and liposomes. The essential component of activity by which a lipid formulation prompts enhanced bioavailability is typically avoidance of a slow dissolution process which constrains the bioavailability of hydrophobic drugs from solid dose frames (Shweta Gupta, 2013). Ideally the plan enables the drug to stay in a dissolved state all through its travel in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Regardless of the extensive potential that these lipid excipients offer, not very many lipids based Formulations have achieved the pharmaceutical commercial place. This might be because of the inadequate data with respect to the generally complex physical science of lipids and worries about figured drugs substance and physical stability. In addition to these concerns, the interaction of a lipid based formulation with the GI condition and its effect on drug absorption is also important. For example, edible lipids have been appeared to be extensively more productive enhancers of poorly soluble drug ingestion, as compared to nondigestible lipids (e.g., liquid paraffin). Unsaturated fat chain length of the lipid likewise impacts drug absorption. Both long and medium chain triglyceride oils with various degrees of saturation have been utilized for the design of self emulsifying formulations. 2. Surfactants: The self emulsifying properties require the incorporation of moderately a lot of surfactant in the formulation notwithstanding the oily drug carrier vehicle. The surfactants may improve the affinity between lipids and intestinal membrane or increase the permeability of the intestinal membrane (Gershanik T, 2000). Surfactants increment the ... • 45. Summary Of The Old Man And The Sea The Old Man and the Sea Title: The title of this book is The Old Man and the Sea. The title alone is quite bland and does not spark my interest, but the story itself is very interesting. The title of the story is self explanatory in regards to the main character and setting, but the storyline and plot are quite complex. That being said, the title fits well with the story, and gives the reader a general vision to being with. Author: The author of The Old Man and the Sea is Ernest Hemingway. Hemingway is a huge part of literary history, and was known as an American novelist, short story writer, and journalist. He also wrote great books such as For Whom the Bell Tolls , The Garden of Eden , and A Farewell to Arms . I have not read any other books by this author. Type of Book: This type of book is nonfiction. This reading would interest an audience that favors suspense and tragedy. Though I do not typically read books of this genre, this story has actually inspired my to read more books written by this author. Characters: The main characters in this book are Santiago (the old man), Manolin (the old man s sidekick), and the marlin (the fish the old man catches). Santiago goes on a much needed fishing trip, and finds out a lot about himself during this small escape. Manolin shares these moments with Santiago, while providing him with a good companion during the trip. One other character that played a part in the story is baseball great Joe DiMaggio, whom ... • 47. Analysis Of F. Scott Fitzgerald F. Scott Fitzgerald was an American author who was known for his novels that generally take place during the Jazz Age after World War I. His use of similes add deeper imagery and to emphasize certain descriptions that are necessary to understand in his distinctive writing style. Fitzgerald incorporated a lot of his own personal life into his works; his struggles with alcoholism, mental disorders and marital problems are generally thrown into almost all his novels. Many of his stories can be read for their symbolic qualities. Therefore, F. Scott Fitzgerald was popular for using uncommon and intricate descriptions to help the reader better grasp what is going on in the story. When F. Scott Fitzgerald was twenty three, he published his first novel This Side of Paradise which tells the life of Amory Blaine from his childhood to his young adulthood who travels out to New England to attend a boarding school and, later on, Princeton. This type of novel is known in the literary world as a Bildungsroman which is a novel of personal and moral formation. Fitzgerald demonstrates his unique voice and style and even includes poetry and theater within the work (Quiklit). At the beginning of the story, Amory acts like a selfish and spoiled child. But as he gets older, he becomes aware of his over inflated ego and begins to ponder on how he could become a better person. He tries religion but it doesn t really satisfy him and his intimate relationship with Rosalind made Amory feel ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. A Tale Of Two Cities Chapter 3 Essay The following extract from chapter three is an example of how the supernatural and the scientific are continuously contrasting in the novel: In your opinion there is a diabolical agency which makes Dartmoor an unsafe abode for a Baskerville that is your opinion? In this part, he shows incredulity and thinks that such thing must be the work of something supernatural. Watson s comparison of Holmes and the people living in the Dartmoor enhances again this contrast between the city detective who appeals more to science and the superstitious servants that give paranormal meanings to the howl of a dog. A contradiction with Watson s ideas can also be seen in this extract. He first claims to have common sense and that is what makes him deny the existence of the hound, but then after reflecting on what he had heard, he justifies this saying that facts are facts and this generates doubts and confusion in his mind. It is important to notice how Doyle develops a mysterious and frightening scene in our minds the moment we imagine how terrifying must be to hear such sound that even Watson, another man of science, starts to doubt about the existence of this enigmatic and evil ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With every commandment broken, the written rules on the tarred wall were changed in order for Napoleon and other pigs to get away with breaking the original commandments. With most of the animals being illiterate and barely knowing the alphabet, it was even easier for Napoleon and the other pigs to break them without confrontation from the rest of the animals on the farm. Eventually, the commandments became: Two legs good, four legs better, no animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets, no animal shall drink alcohol to excess, no animal shall kill any other animal without cause. Eventually in order to allow the pigs to have more power and privilege over the other animals, all the commandments were replaced with just one phrase: animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. The changing of the rules represents how Napoleon has changed throughout the story. At the beginning he was equal with everyone including Snowball, but because of his natural leadership, he s taken the role of being a superior to all the other animals and doing things that go against the original commandments of the Animal ...
