Costco And Sam s Club
As previously mentioned, Costco does have some direct competition within the industry from
companies such as, another big box retailer Sam s Club, as well as, Target and Walmart.
Comparing for instance, Costco and Sam s Club, both retailers offer basically low prices, mass
quantities, miscellaneous items for the home, and require individuals to pay in order to shop at the
establishment(Quirk, 2016). There is a minimal difference in the amount individuals pay to be
members of these establishments; Costco s annual fee is $55 and Sam s Club is $45 (Quirk, 2016).
Although both retailers have various similarities there are a couple of differences that stand out.
For instance, Costco extends opportunities for home mortgages, security... Show more content on

Although each business establishment may provide low prices, it is not strictly about the cost that
is valued as a customer. For instance, one of the values is the ability to purchase product in mass
quantities for the lower price. Buying in mass quantities not only keeps the pantry stocked, but it
also decreases the number of trips to the store which saves precious time for individuals that are
always on the go. Another value that is viewed as important, is the value that a company places on
the employees and customers. It is of the opinion, that companies should consider what keeps the
establishment in business in the first place and that is both the employees and customers. Costco
demonstrates this by above adequate compensation for employees and the empowerment given to
managers, in addition to catering to the wants and needs of the local market and quality customer
service.
Ironically, some of those same values that one views as important when choosing a retail
establishment is what Costco values as core competencies within their competitive strategy. Costco
s continued focus on the employees seems to be at the heart of their core competencies and
although it may bring in less profit and less to shareholders, there are not any signs that seem to
indicate change. As Makroon elaborates, Jim the CEO and cofounder of Costco indicated that the
employees were the company s main core competency and he has set policy to enforce it...That

To overcome this, the resources must be used wisely so that coming generations can get benefit and
ensure that there are enough resources left for them. For a mining company there is always a
requirement to keep balance between society, environment and economy. If there will be a change
in any of the measurement then alternate measurement will also get affected.
The four essential zones which influence sustainability are procedure or operations, education,
group interest and future conditions. These four regions of sustainability can be connected to the
mining firms. If the company is aware about industry the operations going on the sites that effects
the health of people and environment then organization should take wise steps to control bad
effects of their operations. Mining operations are always considered as environment unfriendly. It
is no doubt that some of the mine sites are located away from the residential or urban areas but

The Chinese Capitalist Essay
In a New York Times article dated February 20th, 1997, author Patrick E. Tyler writes about a
political wizard who put China on the road to capitalism. The Chinese capitalist (this is not
capitalism in a western sense, but more of a communist/capitalist mix) Revolution is very
significant in the study of world history; especially considering the Maoist form of government it
sprang from. Notably, there is one small statured Chinese leader who this essay will focus on in
the context of the revolution: Deng Xiaoping. Although his slightness of size didn t offer any
insight into his grand political stature, an inquiry into his life certainly does. This essay will
provide an informative glimpse into the life and times of Deng Xiaoping... Show more content on

Deng was the youngest, having just turned 15. Deng s father was very supportive of his son s
participation in the program. In fact, the night before he left for France, his father talked with
him, and inquired what he hoped to learn in France. What could motivate such a young Chinese
boy to make such a big move? Deng simply repeated the idea he had learned from his teachers: To
learn knowledge and truth from the West in order to save China. (Stewart). He was attune to China
s great suffering, and that the Chinese people needed a modern education if they hoped to save
their country. During the early part of the program, Deng temporarily attended middle schools in
Bayeux and ChГўtillon, however he spent the large majority of his time in France working. He
first worked as a fitter at the Le Creusot Iron and Steel Plant in a southwestern suburb of Paris
where he eventually moved in April 1921. In La Garenne Colombes (where he lived) Deng met and
was influenced by a number of more mature Chinese intellectuals. While under the influence of
these older Chinese students in France, Deng began to look deeply into Marxist thought. In 1921 he
joined the Chinese Communist Youth League in Europe. Later, in 1924, he joined the Chinese
Communist Party. In 1926 Deng traveled to the Soviet Union and studied at Moscow Sun Yat sen

A green belt or greenbelt is a policy and land use designation used in land use planning to retain
areas of largely undeveloped, wild, or agricultural land surrounding or neighbouring urban areas.
Similar concepts are greenways or green wedges which have a linear character and may run

REVENUE NEUTRAL AND ENHANCING ALTERNATIVE PROPOSAL FOR UNETHICAL
TAXATION OF SALARIED INCOME
1.1 INTRODUCTION
In systems governing interactions among entities, the term fair may be a reasonable description
of what is ethical. For example, the prevailing view in the U.S. is that fair treatment of an
indigent individual accused of a crime requires that he or she be provided legal representation in
his or her interactions with the judicial system. Similarly, business related laws and regulations
have ethical dimensions. Thus, while the law may generally consider a 21 year old eligible to
enter into business transactions, society may deem it unethical (or unfair) for a mortgage broker
to offer a loan to a native borrower who is clearly incapable of re paying the loan. As a result,
lending regulations (e.g., rules limiting loans to four times a borrower s annual income) might be
established to prevent a loan from occurring, even though it would otherwise be a legal transaction.
In this case, the free market system would be constrained by regulations favouring the welfare of
the borrower over that of the broker, primarily based on ethical considerations.
Tax systems define the terms under which taxpayers interact with governments. As with other laws
and regulations, such terms may be deemed either fair or unfair under a given standard. The
predominant source of income for millions of U.S. taxpayers is wage, salary, or self employment
income. Thus, tax policies related

crime in several Brazilian states. Millions of people are currently affected by an uncontrollable
swarm of violence that spreads across the country from north to south, and now see a long way

Before the 2016 Rio Olympic Games starts, many people have been complaining about the
deplorable safety across the country, which is leading to an uncontrollable increase in the death
toll. In fact, the mass media declares, about three months prior to the beginning of the event, that
the Olympic Games will be cancelled due to resource inefficiency , but things soon head to a
promising start. At the end of July, as the Olympics are near its commencement, Rio is supplied
with 85,000 security forces to ensure city tourists and its citizens are kept safe while the event is

1. Introduction
Stylish is a hairdressing business that currently owns and operates two hairdressing salons in inner
Melbourne: Carlton and South Melbourne. The owners of the business (hereon the client) are
interested in expanding their operations, and have identified the Prahran area as a possible
location for the establishing of a third salon. The purpose of this report is to provide preliminary
information to the client about: i) the overall viability of establishing a salon in the Prahran area;
and ii) key management and marketing issues that need to be considered in ensuring the success
and profitability of any proposed new outlet. Note that the study considers the viability of the
business in broad management and marketing terms only; it does not provide a comprehensive
financial analysis of the proposed expansion. In the investigation of these issues, two analytical
concepts were used, namely Mega Environment and Task Environment. The Mega Environment is
concerned with the external environment in which a business operates; the Task Environment
considers conditions that a business faces in its immediate environment (Bartol, Tein, Mathews,
Sharma Scott Ladd 2008). Data for the study came from a range of sources related to both these
environments including: industry research reports,

Now not all blacks were slaves there were free blacks in the south roughly a quarter million who
had bought their freedom and moved on to own their own land and slaves. The south was known
for their large tobacco and cotton fields, which required daily excruciating backbreaking labor.
Slave hands were what made this possible to complete and continue for too long. Not all slaves
were out working the plantation or fields, there were also slaves doing everything from carpentry

Torture Is Necessary During Interrogation
After the killing of Osama Bin Laden, former United States Vice President, Dick Cheney,
proclaimed the CIA s use of enhanced interrogation techniques such as waterboarding, against a
terror suspect by the name of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed helped produce intelligence that led the
CIA to Bin Laden. Cheney argued it was a good and legal program and that it was not torture. The
use of EITs has sparked a debate in the public about the means of using torture in order to maintain
security in the nation (Blakeley 544). The discussion about the use of torture in extreme situations
has progressed since 2011 and remains a hot topic today. Torture has been used in many situations
throughout history up to a recent past. It has been done both in secret and out in the open. Although
many people are against torture in any situation, there are some people who justify the act of torture
in extreme situations. The two sides show common ground in valuing human life and that torture is
an extreme solution.
People argue that torture is necessary during interrogation to gain information that will save lives.
There are a wide variety of situations that could happen during the process of interrogation, and not
every circumstance can be prepared for. Not every situation can be limited to the same set of rules
and regulations (Jacobs and Newton). The main argument used to justify the ethical use of torture is
a ticking time bomb situation. If the captured terrorist does not talk, hundreds of people

Technology In Richard Louv s Last Child In The Woods
Not too long ago, people relied on nature for everything. They used it for their bare necessities and
even for their entertainment. But in the recent years, the number of new technologies has been
increasing at a rapid rate. With smartphones and other portable devices, people live in a world
surrounded by technology and other materialistic objects. Children in the newer generations are
being directly introduced into a world full of technology by their parents without the chance to see
what excitement naturehas to offer. In Richard Louv s passage Last Child in the Woods he argues
that people of the newer generations are being separated from nature by technology. Through the
use of examples, personal pronouns, personal anecdotes, and rhetorical questions, Louv explains
how people forget to appreciate nature by manipulating it. With newer technologies, things that
people thought only nature could control are now being manipulated by humans. Louv explains
how researchers are experimenting with a genetic technology through which they can choose the
colors that appear on butterfly wings (Louv 2 4). This example of how people can manipulate
nature is included in Louv s essay because it opens people s eyes to the fact that natural phenomena
will not remain solely natural for long. The things that were once untouched by humans are
becoming contaminated. Additionally, this example specifically states how people are able to
choose how they want nature to look. A butterfly is

The Bell Jar Feminism
The Bell Jar: The Strain of Societal Expectations on the Feminine Psyche I saw myself sitting in
the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn t make up my mind which of
the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all
the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by
one, they plopped to the ground at my feet. (Plath 73)
The Bell Jar illustrates the growing feminist itinerary prevalent during Cold War America by
describing Esther Greenwood, and Plath s own descent into madness. Linda Wagner has described

She goes through many instances in which the most sane of people would not be able to return
unscathed. But we as readers refuse to credit her misfortune because of our own insecurities and the
constraints society has set upon us, even today. Esther Greenwood lives and copes with a mental
illness in this book, and that is not something most people are comfortable with. We try to
rationalize her actions, stating that she is just pressured by those around her, or her feminist
views are what cause her troubles. The reality is a culmination of multiple factors, some of
which are unexplainable. Very much like Salinger s Catcher in the Rye, Esther s story is taken
with varying levels of sympathy and understanding. Many would see her as the typical brooding
teenager, one who makes mountains out of molehills. She is unbelievably privileged, especially
for the time in which her story takes place. One could say that she has it all, even more. But who
are we to decide what is big and what is small? Who are we to decide what classifies one s
feelings as worthy of the label of illness or just simply disagreeable? The Bell Jar is indeed an
important bildungsroman, because it opens discussion to harsh realities of life, ones in which many
are unwilling to face. This unwillingness could have meant the end for Esther Greenwood; her
mother being embarrassed of her daughter s condition,

Birth Control Is A Powerful Tool
Birth control is a powerful tool. It gives women the power to choose when they are ready to have
a baby, with whom they wish to have it with, and how many children to limit the family to. In the
past, women had no control over childbearing due to many restrictions. With Margaret Sanger s
efforts, birth control awareness became accepted by the people and the legal system, changing the
lives of countless women in their fight towards equal opportunity. She changed the way that
childbearing was viewed in America and paved a road that led to gender equality.
Limited knowledge of contraceptives caused great suffering for women during Margaret Sanger s

This impacted Sanger s life to such a great extent that it put her on the path to becoming a birth
control advocate, fighting for the rights of women.
Margaret Sanger developed an interest in birth control advocacy through her involvement in the
movement for women s rights, dedicating her life in support of contraceptive awareness. In the
early 1900s, women began advocating for greater access to contraception and birth control
information, both to increase women s independence and to decrease unwanted pregnancies and
illegal abortions ( State Abortion Laws ). Sanger joined the movement, becoming a member of
many female rights organizations. As a member of the Socialist Party and a woman s labor
organizer, Sanger met [influential] leader such as Eugene V. Debs, Emma Goldman, and Bill
Haywood of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) . As a result of influence from Goldman
and other radical women, Sanger became convinced that married women could never become equal
without being able to control childbearing (McPherson and Gertle).
The popular women s rights movement of the 1960s and 1970s emphasized reproductive rights as
an essential component of women s liberation that would lead to gender equality. Feminists argued

Education Reform For The Elementary And Secondary...
Throughout the history of education there has been many education reforms. According to Enrique
Pena Nieto Education reform has as its main purpose to make sure that the education delivered is of
quality ( (2015 BrainyQuote INC, 2015). Whether it be for primary and secondary students, higher
education, low income students, or teachers, there is always an improvement that can be made for
the better. A comparison of educationreforms that reveals some of the positive, negative, and needed
changes in education.
One of the biggest reforms in American education history came in 1965 when the Elementary and
Secondary Education Act (ESEA) was signed. Told by the this article ESEA initiated Title 1
which is a legislation that provided funds for the quality and betterment for primary and
secondary schools and school districts with a high percentage of low income students
(Ayers,Jeremy 2011). Since this regulation was passed there have been many positive changes
such as drop out rates, parental involvement, and providing more qualified teacher s percentage
have all increased significantly (Ayers,Jeremy 2011). Other great reforms were Smith Hugh, Act
of 1917 (SMHA) and School to Work Opportunity Act (STWOA) of 1994. Comparatively, all
three reforms were federal funded programs to increase the number of qualified teachers. However
in an article by Stephens, G. E. (1995), ESEA was a legislation devoted to improving low income
student s education. SMHA and STOWA were reforms concentrated

Differences And Contrastive Grammar
Contrastive analysis means finding the similarity and comparing the differences of linguistic
system of two languages (Jawad, 2015; Alduais , 2012). Contrastive grammar is part of contrastive
analysis where the similarity and difference of two or more than two languages are the main focus.
However contrastive grammar refers to the more specific thing that is on the structural concepts of
sentences such as sentence patterns, and connecting words. On other words, contrastive grammar is
a study that outlines the elements of similarity and difference between two languages or more

This paper aims to analyze the similarities and differences that appear in English and Arabic based
on its syntax. This is very interesting topic considering the two languages are the language with the
largest number of users around the world (Alduais, 2012), with its own characteristic that comes
from two cultures that have a striking difference.

Bob Dylan Meaning
This short song may not be the nicest to the ears ,but brings up an important message that involves
almost everyone. From mothers to world leaders, we can all learn from this genius song from a
folk singer/songwriter. Bob Dylan touches upon several topics and events going on that time period
,but the main theme of the song is that the world is changing and that it is inevitable. This song
pretty much sums up what Bob Dylanis all about. Showing his opinion on serious matters like
war and politics, and other less important topics like today s culture. Well according to us, past
cultures. Bob Dylan is a straightforward type of man, he will be honest when no one wants to.

First, just look at the title it is quite obvious, The Times They Are A Changin . Secondly, if you
listen carefully to this very relaxed short song, there are several vague but informative supporting
statements that helps one to agree with Dylan. In the beginning half of the song, he talks about
senators, congressmen, and a war. As mentioned in the piece, Come senators, congressmen. Please
heed the call. Don t. stand in the doorway. Don t block up the hall. For he that gets hurt. Will be

and to broader trends helped spawn a dramatic political polarization in the United States that some
historians have labeled a conservative counterrevolution. The thing that made it worse was that he

Business Recitation 1000 class has been such a great experience and expanded my knowledge
with the excel program while also incorporating the use of excel to create the PowerPoint in
class helped me to know the program better. This learning experience will definitely advance my
knowledge in excel as well as assist me to prepare for the corporate world where these skills are
used in day to day basis. Professor Williamson, you mentioned in the content section restating that
this class went through some major reconstruction from being a communication based where
students were required to do a presentation about the choice of their company for 30 minutes and
writing a 15 page term paper to mostly excel based class now. I believe that these changes were
needed and it really helped me expand my familiarity with excel to knowing exactly how to work
with the program including profit and expense analysis, Income statement, bar chart, line chart,...

Additionally, I became comfortable with excel because I did hesitate and struggled with it in
the beginning but all the materials and instruction improved my performance and some
practicing as well. Fusing excel with PowerPoint was a much simpler task than collecting data
and making graphs in excel. After all the critical work in excel, copy and pasting was one way to
transfer the information which I used for presentation. My group and I chose Microsoft as a
company of our choice and collected all the data needed from the online sources. After
enumerating the information in excel, my group members and I transferred the graphs and charts
by simply copy pasting. I believe that it was definitely an excellent idea for creating a presentation
because we were able to practice and put our skills learned in class to test.

The hotel industry is a revenue generated business whose profit normally streams mainly from

Ester And The Fischer Esterification Of Esters
Esters are a specific type of functional group that can be derived from carboxylic acids. The
COOH group found within a carboxylic acid is changed to form an ester, specifically the
hydrogen molecule, which is replaced by a hydrocarbon. Esters are present in many common
things like animal and vegetable fats and oils. Made up of long, complex esters, the physical
differences between fats and oils are in fact due to the different melting points of esters
contained in each. For example, if the melting point of a substance is said to be below room
temperature, the product will be a liquid and thus be classified as an oil. In contrast, if the
melting point is said to be above room temperature, the product will be a solid and thus be
classified as a fat. Esters can also be found in many perfumes or fragrances since they have a
pleasant or fruity aroma. This unique smell is highly dependent on the structure of the molecule,
meaning that even the slightest change can alter its scent. This is very important when considering
how esters are formed. As stated previously, esters are derived from carboxylic acids, and thus
need to be obtained through special reactions, like the Fischer Esterification reaction. Fischer
esterification is the process of creating an esterfrom a carboxylic acidby heating it with an alcohol,
while in the presence of a strong acid being used as the catalyst. This reaction needs to be
monitored very closely to make sure the ester is formed correctly in order

The Short Stories of Gabriel Garcia Marquez Essay
The Short Stories of Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Short story writer. Novelist. Journalist. Political activist. Nobel Prize winner. Most beloved of 20th
century Latin American authors, Gabriel Garcia Marquez was born on March 6, 1928, in the small
coastal town of Aracataca, Colombia. He published his first story, The Third Resignation, in 1947
and began studying law and journalism. His first novel, Leafstorm, was published in 1955, the
same year the Colombian government shut down his employer, the newspaper El Espectador. In
1958, after 14 years of engagement, he married Mercedes Burcha and began working for the
Caracas newspaper, El Momento. During the Cuban Revolution in 1959, he worked for Cuba s

However, they incorporate a variety of compelling themes, focusing primarily on death and the
fantastic, insomnia and unreality, the absurd and the irrational, and are told often from skillfully
interwoven, scrambled points of view. In these stories, Garcia Marquez is attempting to capture the
world as presented in Kafka s Metamorphosis. He is striving to not only portray the world as it is,
but to invent another dreamlike reality, and in the process demonstrate that the reality and the
dream are one and the same. These bizarre and occasionally disturbing excursions into surreal states
of consciousness are poignantly Kafkaesque.
For example, the story The Third Resignation, contains a vivid reenactment of Gregor Samsa s
bug like condition. In this story, instead of waking up as a dung beetle, the main character is
trapped in a frightening existence of living death. He has been living in a coffin for 18 years,
since he turned seven, when his mother was told by the doctor, Madam, your child has a grave
illness: he is dead. Nevertheless...we shall do everything possible to keep him alive beyond
death (5). Though he is dead, the main character continues to grow in size and also grows a
beard, indicating that he is medically not dead, but, like Gregor Samsa, is completely paralyzed.
He spends his entire life trying to figure out whether or not he is alive: A few moments before he
had been happy with his death because he had thought he was dead. Because a dead man

Play is an occupation in which all children should engage in to enhance development. Play should
be enjoyable, fun, impulsive and naturally motivating. When children engage in play, they are able
to discover their surrounding environments, experiment with ideas, and learn from experience
(Garvey, 1977; Rubin, Fein Vandenberg, 1983; Smith Vollstedt, 1985, as cited by Mastrangelo,

Photosynthesis Experiment With Spinach
Photosynthesis is the process in which plants use sunlight to create energy. Sunlight gets absorbed
into chlorophyll in the plant cells which then convert the light to energy. That energy helps with the
process of hydrolysis in breaking CO2 and water down. Through this breaking up, oxygen and
glucose are created. Photosynthesishas total of six stages, but those are broken up into two main
stages. The first stage is a light dependent reaction, which is when the energy from the sunlight is
taken and then converted by the chlorophyll molecules into stored energy. This reaction takes place
in the thylakoid membranes in the granum within the chloroplast ( Light Dependent ). In this
reaction, there is a transfer of electrons from water to CO2 which begins the creation of the
byproduct of oxygen. The sunlight gives a boost of energy to the chlorophyll which gets over the
activation barrier and makes the chlorophyll release an electron (Vidyasagar). Chlorophyll
molecules trap the light through pigments and absorb... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The test was to see if spinach leaves could go through a short photosynthesis cycle without CO2,
light, or both. This was done by using sodium bicarbonate and water to create CO2 in two of the
beakers. With two beakers with CO2 and two without CO2, the effect of CO2 on photosynthesis
could be observed. Because sunlight is important to photosynthesis, the other part of the
experiment was to observe the difference between the spinach disks when exposed to sunlight and
the spinach disks when exposed to only darkness. Because of the photosynthetic equation: 6 CO2
+ 6 H2O + sunlight в†’ C6H12O6 + 6 O2, changing the light and the CO2 would impact the
outcome of the process. This would leave the leaves at the bottom of the beaker as they would not
be able to float up without the product of oxygen pushing them

Women in World War II Essay
Women in World War II During World War II Hitler was skulking around Europe pretending to

pressures, and anyone who had the temerity to suggest that women should be in the military. The
politicians, in typical gerrymandering fashion, made flimsy promises of considering an auxiliary

Fortunately Congresswoman Edith Nourse Rogers and Eleanor Roosevelt thought otherwise.

Nuclear Weapons In Brazil Research Paper
Delegation from the Federative Republic Of Brazil Nuclear weapons are the most dangerous
weapons on earth. One can destroy a whole city, potentially killing millions, and jeopardizing the
natural environment and lives of future generations through its long term catastrophic effects. The
dangers from such weapons arise from their very existence. Although nuclear weapons have only
been used twice in warfare in the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 about 22,000
reportedly remain in our world today and there have been over 2,000 nuclear tests conducted to

The World Bank
Governance is becoming more and more essential in values of major international institutions. In
order to receive the World Bank credit, poor countries need to comply several conditions set by
World Bank which are in most cases aim to promote good governance but also liberalise countries
economy to open market. As the essay question suggests not all people support this neo capitalist
approach as it may result in tension, exploiting of one by the other, and impact negatively on both
society and environment of the developing country. As a result of successful lobbying from civil
society institutions, World Bankand other major international institutions created monitoring and
complaint processing panels to monitor its activities (Park, 2010). However the scope of influence
of these panels can be limited and can have insufficient results. Though decision making in World
Bank is getting more horizontal than it used to be, still economically and politically powerful
countries are ultimately making key decisions without enough involvement of poorer countries.
This paper will aim to analyse the reasons behind criticisms towards World Bank, nature of its

Identity Change In Macbeth And The Odyssey
Final Paper What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by
achieving your goals. Zig Zaglar. Thesis When trying to attain an important goal people tend to
change their attitude so that they can achieve that goal. Whether it is a change for good or for
evil it, happens. The change is caused by both outside influences and self influences. There is no
lack of change in Macbeth and The Odyssey. In Shakespeare s Macbeth, Macbeth goes through a
large identity change. His transition from good to evil is due to him chasing his goal of
becoming the king. In the beginning of the book it was clear that Macbeth was an honorable
man, but as soon as he ran into some outside influences it went downhill. There was the witches
and lady Macbeth that really made him change for the worse. Quote 1: Second witch: All hail,
Macbeth! Hail to thee Thane of Cawdor. (Shakespeare, 1.3. 52) Analysis 1: At this point in

The Horrors of Cannibalism
Cannibalism to say the least is a very taboo word. Cannibalism is known to be very disturbing and
sets off a certain set of powerful emotions when spoken about. One thing about cannibalism is that
it used to be considered a normal part of life, and has only recently been seen as taboo in the recent
centuries. Many people believe Cannibalismshould be legal world wide, but only have reasoning s
of culture and religions. Cannibalism should be illegal because of immorality, diseases , and
murder by eating someone s flesh. The History of Cannibalism is small, yet widely spread
around the world. The Korowai Tribe has been around since 1974, they are known for killing
outsiders, and to be afraid of pale skinned people (Raffaele). If Cannibalism stays legal, the
isolated tribes could possibly expand, and want to kill any pale skinned person, or anyone not
from their tribe. The Carib tribe was the first known tribe to commit acts of cannibalism to their
enemies, which became increasingly rare once the introduction of Christianity was introduced in
the area (Mind Q). Once the human race became more active in moral behavior, Cannibalism was
outcast, giving it no reason to be legal within our current society. The Aztecs are known as one of
the most brutal tribes to date, the Aztecs would commit thousands of human sacrifices a year (Mind

Analysis Of The Oresteia
In the Oresteia, there is a deep relationship between characters which is necessary to understand
the role of suffering in Greek tragedy. The most profound form of this relationship is between a
mortal and an immortal. Suffering of the mortal spurns a yearning on the part of the immortal to
give assistance or guidance to the mortal, like a mother helps her child in pain. Suffering on the
part of the mortal is a vital piece to stimulate emotional response from the audience. The same, to a
lesser extent, can is also said of many other inter mortal relationships. The passions felt by the
reader because of such a relationship brings an emotional cleansing in response to the suffering of
the mortal. The role of suffering in Greek tragedyis to enable the audience to empathize with the
characters suffering through their relationships.
Relationship is defined as any two characters having any relations with each other for an end. The
relationship between Orestes and Electra is that of love and use; Electra has a love for her brother,
but also wants to use him to kill her mother. That use and love portrays to the audience a connection
that allows them to more fully understand and relate to the relationship. This happens because of
the past experiences the audience had; all men have felt both love and the want for revenge.
The harnessing of emotion in Greek theater is the most powerful tool a playwright had. To be able
to manipulate the audience and their emotions is the highest

Case Study Of Entrepreneur
Introduction
An entrepreneur is a person that can acquire and capture an idea, which could be about presenting
anything, a specific product, or any type of service. He would have the ability and proficiency for
taking up challenges and risks in order to present that idea towards reality and make it happen.
Entrepreneurship on the other hand, consists of the opportunities that would be needed to explore
(Akudolu, 2010).
The following case study would be presenting the entrepreneurial work of Fadi Ghandour, and his
work processes in terms of the Timmons model of entrepreneur and how effective is this model in
the venturing of entrepreneurship (Akudolu, 2010). Further, the study would state the contributing
factors and the learning outcomes from Ghandour s work.
The Entrepreneur and Entrepreneurship In general discussions (Brooks, 2015), an entrepreneur is
supposed to present a new and a different idea. This is true, but bringing an idea is a different
situation. For an entrepreneur, it is also necessary to have the knowledge in how to reach the

This seems like a straightforward description of what entrepreneurship is, but executing such a
process is an extremely complex and hard task. Risking is a huge part of this process, which
could give the resulted outcome in a good, or in a bad way. Ghandour himself had stated that the
NASDAQ listing was a risking process, but even so, he took it. This is because he believes that
in order to bring entrepreneurial success, a person should never be afraid in trying (Lee, 2013).
That is why; executing an idea would require more than just the originality of that idea. In this
process, the entrepreneur initiates a specific business plan and obtains the proper resources for it,

Cloud storage has been employed to provide online storage services for various kind of users
having different requirements. It provides great flexibility in the sense that users can take
advantage of the services from any location just with the availability of the internet connection.
The data backup and storage facilities provided by cloud computing allow the users to store
their information in the cloud, thus providing them the benefits of easy access, protection and
reliability (as data is stored in multiple sites). However, the users are unsure and unaware about
where their data is specifically stored and who all can have access to their data stored in the
cloud. This makes the security and privacy of users data critical. In this project we aim at doing an
analysis of the security schemes employed by different cloud vendors to avoid the security and
privacy intrusion of the user s information stored in their respective backupservices. Different
providers of the cloud storage services address the problem of security and privacy in their cloud
through various ways and may come up with different schemes. There have been various studies
catering to the individual scenarios and past security and privacy breaches in the cloud. However,
this project aims to study the various techniques to provide a holistic view of the various threats to
this technology and analyzed the following cloud storage services in terms of the cryptographic
schemes employed for the data

The Pros And Cons Of Causation
Causation is an act (or omission) by the defendant in breach of a duty he owed the claimant and
which causes harm to a claimant s interest protected by law ; this harm must not be too remote.
Causation is a matter for the jury to decide. Causation is both a question of facts and law. In factual
causation, the defendants act is necessary to the appearance of the damage: on the balance of
probabilities (51%), the negligent act must have caused the damage but for it, the event would not
have occurred. For legal causation, the claimant must show that the defendant s act made a
significant and not trivial contribution to the result , that the damage was reasonably foreseeable. A
new act may break the chain of causation, where another unforeseeable... Show more content on

The claimant went to the second defendant s hospital to receive an operation which through
negligence blinded him in his right eye. In addition, the claimant developed post traumatic stress
disorder, a specific phobia of Afro Caribbean people with paranoid elaboration and an enduring
personality change. The first defendant was held responsible for the physical injuries and the
psychological trauma, and the hospital would compensate the rest, considering the failed operation
did not obliterate the consequences of the first. Applying Baker v Willoughby, the court found that
the second injury does not supersede the first one, so Arearose remained liable for their breach of
duty towards the claimant. However the hospital was held liable for any increase in harm to Mr
Rahman and would compensate the rest. The damages would be apportioned between the
defendants, assessing their responsibility by reference to the extent to which their negligence had
contributed to the claimant s total

My Dreaded Enemy, My Dearest Friend
My Dreaded Enemy, My Dearest Friend
On a cold Sunday morning in February, I woke up dreading the day. I had an essay to write, three
pages of math homework to do, and two biology packets to copy. Four days later I would be
having lunch with my mom, none of my homework done, telling her about the past three days I
lived without her.

Mikayla? Mikayla, can you hear me?
The harsh, bright lights of my bathroom burned my retinas and a man I didn t recognize came into
focus. He looked like the perfect beach: hair the color of sand and eyes the color of seawater. At
first, I thought he was an angel coming to save me. In a way, I guess he was. His navy blue shirt
had a crest and the letters E M T embroidered on the pocket. The tile was as cold as ice. Although
it was my bathroom that I had been in a million times, everything felt foreign. I must have zoned
out, I thought. Yeah, I can hear you, I whispered. I didn t even want to look him in the eyes. My
right forearm, leg, and fingers were crusted with dark crimson blood. What happened? The flash
of a fresh razor blade suddenly sliced through my fuzzy and confused thoughts. Oh. The man
quietly wrapped my arm in gauze. I could hear another man talking to my mom just beyond the
bathroom door. She definitely knows how to take care of things like this. She s managed to stop
the bleeding for now, but it may need stitches. There I sat, curled up in a ball of protection, shame,
and fear while they discussed what to do with me. A

  • 2. Costco And Sam s Club As previously mentioned, Costco does have some direct competition within the industry from companies such as, another big box retailer Sam s Club, as well as, Target and Walmart. Comparing for instance, Costco and Sam s Club, both retailers offer basically low prices, mass quantities, miscellaneous items for the home, and require individuals to pay in order to shop at the establishment(Quirk, 2016). There is a minimal difference in the amount individuals pay to be members of these establishments; Costco s annual fee is $55 and Sam s Club is $45 (Quirk, 2016). Although both retailers have various similarities there are a couple of differences that stand out. For instance, Costco extends opportunities for home mortgages, security... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although each business establishment may provide low prices, it is not strictly about the cost that is valued as a customer. For instance, one of the values is the ability to purchase product in mass quantities for the lower price. Buying in mass quantities not only keeps the pantry stocked, but it also decreases the number of trips to the store which saves precious time for individuals that are always on the go. Another value that is viewed as important, is the value that a company places on the employees and customers. It is of the opinion, that companies should consider what keeps the establishment in business in the first place and that is both the employees and customers. Costco demonstrates this by above adequate compensation for employees and the empowerment given to managers, in addition to catering to the wants and needs of the local market and quality customer service. Ironically, some of those same values that one views as important when choosing a retail establishment is what Costco values as core competencies within their competitive strategy. Costco s continued focus on the employees seems to be at the heart of their core competencies and although it may bring in less profit and less to shareholders, there are not any signs that seem to indicate change. As Makroon elaborates, Jim the CEO and cofounder of Costco indicated that the employees were the company s main core competency and he has set policy to enforce it...That ... The Chinese capitalist (this is not capitalism in a western sense, but more of a communist/capitalist mix) Revolution is very significant in the study of world history; especially considering the Maoist form of government it sprang from. Notably, there is one small statured Chinese leader who this essay will focus on in the context of the revolution: Deng Xiaoping. Deng s father was very supportive of his son s participation in the program. In fact, the night before he left for France, his father talked with him, and inquired what he hoped to learn in France. What could motivate such a young Chinese boy to make such a big move? Deng simply repeated the idea he had learned from his teachers: To learn knowledge and truth from the West in order to save China. (Stewart). He was attune to China s great suffering, and that the Chinese people needed a modern education if they hoped to save their country. During the early part of the program, Deng temporarily attended middle schools in Bayeux and ChГўtillon, however he spent the large majority of his time in France working. He first worked as a fitter at the Le Creusot Iron and Steel Plant in a southwestern suburb of Paris where he eventually moved in April 1921. • 6. Revenue Neutral and Enhancing Alternative Proposal for... REVENUE NEUTRAL AND ENHANCING ALTERNATIVE PROPOSAL FOR UNETHICAL TAXATION OF SALARIED INCOME 1.1 INTRODUCTION In systems governing interactions among entities, the term fair may be a reasonable description of what is ethical. For example, the prevailing view in the U.S. is that fair treatment of an indigent individual accused of a crime requires that he or she be provided legal representation in his or her interactions with the judicial system. Similarly, business related laws and regulations have ethical dimensions. Thus, while the law may generally consider a 21 year old eligible to enter into business transactions, society may deem it unethical (or unfair) for a mortgage broker to offer a loan to a native borrower who is clearly incapable of re paying the loan. As a result, lending regulations (e.g., rules limiting loans to four times a borrower s annual income) might be established to prevent a loan from occurring, even though it would otherwise be a legal transaction. In this case, the free market system would be constrained by regulations favouring the welfare of the borrower over that of the broker, primarily based on ethical considerations. Tax systems define the terms under which taxpayers interact with governments. As with other laws and regulations, such terms may be deemed either fair or unfair under a given standard. The predominant source of income for millions of U.S. taxpayers is wage, salary, or self employment income. Thus, tax policies related ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Now not all blacks were slaves there were free blacks in the south roughly a quarter million who had bought their freedom and moved on to own their own land and slaves. Not all slaves were out working the plantation or fields, there were also slaves doing everything from carpentry and masonry work to raising children and not necessarily their own children. Torture Is Necessary During Interrogation After the killing of Osama Bin Laden, former United States Vice President, Dick Cheney, proclaimed the CIA s use of enhanced interrogation techniques such as waterboarding, against a terror suspect by the name of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed helped produce intelligence that led the CIA to Bin Laden. Cheney argued it was a good and legal program and that it was not torture. The use of EITs has sparked a debate in the public about the means of using torture in order to maintain security in the nation (Blakeley 544). The discussion about the use of torture in extreme situations has progressed since 2011 and remains a hot topic today. Torture has been used in many situations throughout history up to a recent past. It has been done both in secret and out in the open. Although many people are against torture in any situation, there are some people who justify the act of torture in extreme situations. The two sides show common ground in valuing human life and that torture is an extreme solution. People argue that torture is necessary during interrogation to gain information that will save lives. There are a wide variety of situations that could happen during the process of interrogation, and not every circumstance can be prepared for. Not every situation can be limited to the same set of rules and regulations (Jacobs and Newton). The main argument used to justify the ethical use of torture is a ticking time bomb situation. • 13. Technology In Richard Louv s Last Child In The Woods Not too long ago, people relied on nature for everything. They used it for their bare necessities and even for their entertainment. But in the recent years, the number of new technologies has been increasing at a rapid rate. With smartphones and other portable devices, people live in a world surrounded by technology and other materialistic objects. Children in the newer generations are being directly introduced into a world full of technology by their parents without the chance to see what excitement naturehas to offer. In Richard Louv s passage Last Child in the Woods he argues that people of the newer generations are being separated from nature by technology. Through the use of examples, personal pronouns, personal anecdotes, and rhetorical questions, Louv explains how people forget to appreciate nature by manipulating it. With newer technologies, things that people thought only nature could control are now being manipulated by humans. Louv explains how researchers are experimenting with a genetic technology through which they can choose the colors that appear on butterfly wings (Louv 2 4). This example of how people can manipulate nature is included in Louv s essay because it opens people s eyes to the fact that natural phenomena will not remain solely natural for long. The things that were once untouched by humans are becoming contaminated. Additionally, this example specifically states how people are able to choose how they want nature to look. A butterfly is ... We try to rationalize her actions, stating that she is just pressured by those around her, or her feminist views are what cause her troubles. The reality is a culmination of multiple factors, some of which are unexplainable. Very much like Salinger s Catcher in the Rye, Esther s story is taken with varying levels of sympathy and understanding. Many would see her as the typical brooding teenager, one who makes mountains out of molehills. She is unbelievably privileged, especially for the time in which her story takes place. One could say that she has it all, even more. But who are we to decide what is big and what is small? Who are we to decide what classifies one s feelings as worthy of the label of illness or just simply disagreeable? • 25. Ester And The Fischer Esterification Of Esters Esters are a specific type of functional group that can be derived from carboxylic acids. The COOH group found within a carboxylic acid is changed to form an ester, specifically the hydrogen molecule, which is replaced by a hydrocarbon. Esters are present in many common things like animal and vegetable fats and oils. Made up of long, complex esters, the physical differences between fats and oils are in fact due to the different melting points of esters contained in each. For example, if the melting point of a substance is said to be below room temperature, the product will be a liquid and thus be classified as an oil. In contrast, if the melting point is said to be above room temperature, the product will be a solid and thus be classified as a fat. Esters can also be found in many perfumes or fragrances since they have a pleasant or fruity aroma. This unique smell is highly dependent on the structure of the molecule, meaning that even the slightest change can alter its scent. This is very important when considering how esters are formed. As stated previously, esters are derived from carboxylic acids, and thus need to be obtained through special reactions, like the Fischer Esterification reaction. Fischer esterification is the process of creating an esterfrom a carboxylic acidby heating it with an alcohol, while in the presence of a strong acid being used as the catalyst. This reaction needs to be monitored very closely to make sure the ester is formed correctly in order ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He is striving to not only portray the world as it is, but to invent another dreamlike reality, and in the process demonstrate that the reality and the dream are one and the same. These bizarre and occasionally disturbing excursions into surreal states of consciousness are poignantly Kafkaesque. Through this breaking up, oxygen and glucose are created. Photosynthesishas total of six stages, but those are broken up into two main stages. The first stage is a light dependent reaction, which is when the energy from the sunlight is taken and then converted by the chlorophyll molecules into stored energy. This reaction takes place in the thylakoid membranes in the granum within the chloroplast ( Light Dependent ). In this reaction, there is a transfer of electrons from water to CO2 which begins the creation of the byproduct of oxygen. One can destroy a whole city, potentially killing millions, and jeopardizing the natural environment and lives of future generations through its long term catastrophic effects. The dangers from such weapons arise from their very existence. Although nuclear weapons have only been used twice in warfare in the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 about 22,000 reportedly remain in our world today and there have been over 2,000 nuclear tests conducted to date. Demobilization is the best protection against such dangers, but achieving this goal has been a extremely difficult challenge. , The United Nations has made the fomenting of peace and security among all nations its highest priority, since its founding. Brazil has never developed nuclear weapons, and there is no evidence that it has the intention to enrich uranium above the 20% level. From the 1960s to the early 1990s, Brazil pursued an ambitious program of nuclear technology development. However, Brazil has disavowed nuclear weapons and peaceful nuclear explosions (PNEs), and became a state party to the Treaty on the Non Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). With Argentina, Brazil established a bilateral inspection agency (the Brazilian Argentine Agency for Accounting and Control of Nuclear Materials (ABACC), to verify both countries pledges to use nuclear energy for exclusively peaceful purposes. • 32. The World Bank Governance is becoming more and more essential in values of major international institutions. In order to receive the World Bank credit, poor countries need to comply several conditions set by World Bank which are in most cases aim to promote good governance but also liberalise countries economy to open market. As the essay question suggests not all people support this neo capitalist approach as it may result in tension, exploiting of one by the other, and impact negatively on both society and environment of the developing country. As a result of successful lobbying from civil society institutions, World Bankand other major international institutions created monitoring and complaint processing panels to monitor its activities (Park, 2010). However the scope of influence of these panels can be limited and can have insufficient results. Though decision making in World Bank is getting more horizontal than it used to be, still economically and politically powerful countries are ultimately making key decisions without enough involvement of poorer countries. This paper will aim to analyse the reasons behind criticisms towards World Bank, nature of its funded projects, and effectiveness of the World Bank inspection panel. World Bank s influence is expanding due to the enormity of the challenges it is facing. Challenges of the modern world in most cases cannot be handled by single state or institution (W.Scharpf, 1994). Issues of climate change or poverty will not be limited by ... • 35. Identity Change In Macbeth And The Odyssey Final Paper What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals. Zig Zaglar. Thesis When trying to attain an important goal people tend to change their attitude so that they can achieve that goal. Whether it is a change for good or for evil it, happens. The change is caused by both outside influences and self influences. There is no lack of change in Macbeth and The Odyssey. In Shakespeare s Macbeth, Macbeth goes through a large identity change. His transition from good to evil is due to him chasing his goal of becoming the king. In the beginning of the book it was clear that Macbeth was an honorable man, but as soon as he ran into some outside influences it went downhill. There was the witches and lady Macbeth that really made him change for the worse. Quote 1: Second witch: All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee Thane of Cawdor. (Shakespeare, 1.3. 52) Analysis 1: At this point in Macbeth, Macbeth was an honorable man that fought for his brothers and king. • 36. The Horrors of Cannibalism Cannibalism to say the least is a very taboo word. Cannibalism is known to be very disturbing and sets off a certain set of powerful emotions when spoken about. One thing about cannibalism is that it used to be considered a normal part of life, and has only recently been seen as taboo in the recent centuries. Many people believe Cannibalismshould be legal world wide, but only have reasoning s of culture and religions. Cannibalism should be illegal because of immorality, diseases , and murder by eating someone s flesh. The History of Cannibalism is small, yet widely spread around the world. The Korowai Tribe has been around since 1974, they are known for killing outsiders, and to be afraid of pale skinned people (Raffaele). If Cannibalism stays legal, the isolated tribes could possibly expand, and want to kill any pale skinned person, or anyone not from their tribe. The Carib tribe was the first known tribe to commit acts of cannibalism to their enemies, which became increasingly rare once the introduction of Christianity was introduced in the area (Mind Q). Once the human race became more active in moral behavior, Cannibalism was outcast, giving it no reason to be legal within our current society. The Aztecs are known as one of the most brutal tribes to date, the Aztecs would commit thousands of human sacrifices a year (Mind Q). • 37. Analysis Of The Oresteia In the Oresteia, there is a deep relationship between characters which is necessary to understand the role of suffering in Greek tragedy. The most profound form of this relationship is between a mortal and an immortal. Suffering of the mortal spurns a yearning on the part of the immortal to give assistance or guidance to the mortal, like a mother helps her child in pain. Suffering on the part of the mortal is a vital piece to stimulate emotional response from the audience. The same, to a lesser extent, can is also said of many other inter mortal relationships. The passions felt by the reader because of such a relationship brings an emotional cleansing in response to the suffering of the mortal. The role of suffering in Greek tragedyis to enable the audience to empathize with the characters suffering through their relationships. Relationship is defined as any two characters having any relations with each other for an end. The relationship between Orestes and Electra is that of love and use; Electra has a love for her brother, but also wants to use him to kill her mother. That use and love portrays to the audience a connection that allows them to more fully understand and relate to the relationship. This happens because of the past experiences the audience had; all men have felt both love and the want for revenge. The harnessing of emotion in Greek theater is the most powerful tool a playwright had. To be able to manipulate the audience and their emotions is the highest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Security And Privacy Of The Cloud Storage Services Cloud storage has been employed to provide online storage services for various kind of users having different requirements. It provides great flexibility in the sense that users can take advantage of the services from any location just with the availability of the internet connection. The data backup and storage facilities provided by cloud computing allow the users to store their information in the cloud, thus providing them the benefits of easy access, protection and reliability (as data is stored in multiple sites). However, the users are unsure and unaware about where their data is specifically stored and who all can have access to their data stored in the cloud. This makes the security and privacy of users data critical. In this project we aim at doing an analysis of the security schemes employed by different cloud vendors to avoid the security and privacy intrusion of the user s information stored in their respective backupservices. Different providers of the cloud storage services address the problem of security and privacy in their cloud through various ways and may come up with different schemes. There have been various studies catering to the individual scenarios and past security and privacy breaches in the cloud. However, this project aims to study the various techniques to provide a holistic view of the various threats to this technology and analyzed the following cloud storage services in terms of the cryptographic schemes employed for the data ... The Pros And Cons Of Causation Causation is an act (or omission) by the defendant in breach of a duty he owed the claimant and which causes harm to a claimant s interest protected by law ; this harm must not be too remote. Causation is a matter for the jury to decide. Causation is both a question of facts and law. In factual causation, the defendants act is necessary to the appearance of the damage: on the balance of probabilities (51%), the negligent act must have caused the damage but for it, the event would not have occurred. For legal causation, the claimant must show that the defendant s act made a significant and not trivial contribution to the result , that the damage was reasonably foreseeable. • 42. My Dreaded Enemy, My Dearest Friend My Dreaded Enemy, My Dearest Friend On a cold Sunday morning in February, I woke up dreading the day. I had an essay to write, three pages of math homework to do, and two biology packets to copy. Four days later I would be having lunch with my mom, none of my homework done, telling her about the past three days I lived without her. *** Mikayla? Mikayla, can you hear me? The harsh, bright lights of my bathroom burned my retinas and a man I didn t recognize came into focus. He looked like the perfect beach: hair the color of sand and eyes the color of seawater. At first, I thought he was an angel coming to save me. In a way, I guess he was. His navy blue shirt had a crest and the letters E M T embroidered on the pocket. The tile was as cold as ice. Although it was my bathroom that I had been in a million times, everything felt foreign. I must have zoned out, I thought. Yeah, I can hear you, I whispered. I didn t even want to look him in the eyes. My right forearm, leg, and fingers were crusted with dark crimson blood. What happened? The flash of a fresh razor blade suddenly sliced through my fuzzy and confused thoughts. Oh. The man quietly wrapped my arm in gauze. I could hear another man talking to my mom just beyond the bathroom door. She definitely knows how to take care of things like this. She s managed to stop the bleeding for now, but it may need stitches. There I sat, curled up in a ball of protection, shame, and fear while they discussed what to do with me. A ...
