Why Was Lebron Important
Why is LeBron the person he is? How did he become good at leading his team to the NBA finals? Did
one day he just woke up with this ability and then used it to play basketball or something? The reason
why LeBron is the person he is today is because he practice. He made steps and plans on how to do
things. In addition to that he started at a young age at being a good leader and a good student at
school. Even though that LeBron was extremely good at basketball, he had to do his work in order to
play the game he loved so much. Most people in the world would like to be him. Those who ask him
how to become like him wonder, what steps and plans should they make in order to become
successful. John F. Kennedy said, Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. There are
certain steps that need to be taken in order to accomplish that. Good students and leaders need to

In order to have a starting point, everyone would need to start from somewhere. Therefore in order to
become a leader, a leader needs to start off by example. That means that the person who wants to
become a potential leader to the world or to everyone that passes his or her way needs to show off by
example. Because actions speak louder than words, but still a leader needs to know how to speak.
Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your
actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, and your values become
your destiny, Mahatma Gandhi. The first way to show a successful person is by having good grades in
every single class. Especially in the classes that are difficult. It shows that he or she is able to tackle
the difficult task that comes their way. After that, the person would most likely be at the top of his or
her class or at least try to be head to head with the person with the highest grade in the

Induction And Induction Essay
Deduction and Induction Isabel Bolio
A way in which a human being can acquire knowledge is by reasoning through guided principles of
validity; which is therefore through logic. This extends our understanding of our surroundings. Within
logic there are two branches that lead to reasonable conclusions, these are: inductive and deductive
logic. In the following paragraphs this two instruments will be described and exemplified in order to
compare them as means to reach logic.
Inductive logic is the form to achieve a conclusive and specific knowledge through general rules. It is
the urge of humans to construct patterns of observation through time. We all use simple induction all
the time; for example. We assume that because the sun has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net
...
This example demonstrates how humans draw conclusions without enough examples, therefore
another problem arises: how many examples do we need to form a completely truthful conclusion?
On the other hand there is the opposite of Inductive logic: Deductive logic. It is the process by which a
secure conclusion can be reached through one or more general statements that are otherwise called
premises . It goes form general to specific. So if one is equal to two and two is equal to three then we
know that one is equal to two. This way of reasoning is easily applied to our ordinary lives an example
is: every day I leave to school at eight o clock; I take fifteen minutes and get there on time, therefore if
today I leave at eight o clock I will get to school on time. Another example; all students that have high
SAT scores do well in collage, a Laura had high SAT scores, she will do well in collage.
Equivalently to Inductive reasoning deductive logic has limitations. The issue is that the premises are
either drawn form observation or are merely assumptions. This means that the premises of a deductive
argument may come from inductive reasoning, which automatically leads us to the previous problems
encountered. It may however be that the deductive argument is

In the Skin of a Lion Anaylsis Essay
Discuss the ways in which textual forms and features shape your understanding of In the Skin of a
Lion.
Michael Ondaatje s postmodern exploration of the early, developmental years of Canada, In the Skin
of a Lion, is expressed through multiple perspectives, with no dominant perspective or omniscient
narrator. The narrative is presented as fragmented and contains interruptions from intersecting
perspectives. The presence of class conflict forces the characters to experience extreme adversity, with
their contributions to building the society going unnoticed until Ondaatje has addressed their social
exclusion. Through reinterpretations of motifs and symbols, Ondaatje adds new dimensions to events
in history and characterizations, whilst the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whilst Harris perceives it as symbol of life and creation, water ironically takes the lives of the workers
in the Waterworks with the water heaving in, shouldering them aside in a fast death if they dig just one
degree up. The harsh and tedious conditions of the work, pissing where they work, eating where
someone else left there shit , dehumanizes the workers, insulting their inherent dignity and contrasting
the imagery of opulent structure they are building. Harris notes the Egyptian feel of the palace,
equating his works to that of the pyramids which coincidentally draws a link to the cruel treatment of
the workers and how bodies have similarly been entombed in the structure during construction.
Ondaatje, however, recognizes their contribution in revealing glimpses of certain characters; the
voiceless and marginalized become recognizable as the novel progresses
Ondaatje presents Patrick Lewis as character amongst the lower class to demonstrate the fluidity of
identity, through the journey he undertakes, which allows him to emerge from passivity. Patrick s
quest to gain enlightenment is reflected in the prologue, as he drives through the unbetrayed
countryside, introducing implications of hope and maturation whilst isolation and alienation is
indicated through the prevailing image of darkness. This sense of isolation is further expressed
through Patrick s childhood. Ondaatje addressed the roots of his abashed

ABSTRACT
The present investigation was undertaken to evaluate the physicochemical characteristics of mango,
grapefruit and strawberry juice and identification of phenolic acids and flavonoids compounds using
HPLC. Also the present study aimed to investigate the effects of mango, grapefruit and strawberry
juice at a dose of 1ml/day (was taken orally) to streptozotocin induced diabetic rats for four weeks on
serum triglycerides (TAG), serum glucose, serum insulin, total lipid (TL), total cholesterol (TC), low
density lipoprotein (LDL) and high density lipoprotein (HDL) in diabetic rats compared with control
negative rats and diabetic rats fed on different fruit juice.
The results showed that the mango was the highest amounted in protein, crude fiber, ash content and
total carbohydrates (0.82, 0.72, 0.51 and 9.61 g/100g fresh weight) followed by strawberry (0.50,
0.35, 0.27 and 8.95 g/100g fresh weight) and also, grapefruit was 0.40, 0.25,

Mistakes In Shaka
To some the mistakes that are made throughout life are considered as deeds that define what others
reflect of us rather than what you may think of yourself. In reality we are human beings, we all make
mistakes whether those mistakes may be big or small they don t define us. Instead those mistakes help
us grow, they shape us into the people that we have become today, and they continue to shape us into
the people that we will be in the future and so on. Ted talks why your worst deeds don t define you
discusses why our deeds do not define us. During the video Shaka Senghor thrashed out that we are
simply human, and everyone makes mistakes. Shaka was a young drug dealer, when he had shot and

Sampson and John H. Laub Social Disorganization Theory directly links crime rates to neighborhood
ecological characteristics. An essential source to the theory is that place matters in shaping the
likelihood that a person will become involved in illegal activities. An individual s living surroundings
is more substantial to how one will end up rather than the persons individual characteristics. Those
with disadvantaged neighborhoods partake in a subgroup which approves delinquency. As Shaka said
in his Ted talk that he was not from a good neighborhood. Violence and drugs were common so it was
easy for him to become involved in them when is parents became divorced. Even though he came
from a neighborhood with many disadvantages he was still a good student with high hopes and
dreams. Wakefield and Wildeman theory of mass imprisonment and racial disparities in childhood
behavioral problems are linked with the families of prisoners. They find that when a parent is in
person it is more harmful on the child rather than helpful. The theory focus on children until they are
about the age of five. Shaka has a son that is two years old. He briefly discussed how when he was in
prison that his son wrote him in prison saying mom told me why you re in prison , murder . When
reading his sons letter Shaka decided that it was time for him to make a change. He wanted to be a

Lab Report On The Ph Of The Potential Hydrogen Ion...
Chapter 7 Lab Report
Background Research pH is a measure of the potential hydrogen ion concentration of a solution.
Solutions that have low pH s or a ph level below 7 are considered acidic. Solutions that have a high
pH level or above 7 are considered basic. The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a solution may
be. Some examples of solutions that have high acidity and a low pH level are Battery acid, lemon
juice, and vinegar. Some solutions that are basic and a high pH level are soapy water, baking soda, and
drain cleaner. Temperature plays a role on how high or low a solutions pH level is. For example, the
colder the solution the less acidic it would be therefore it would have a high pH level. For warmer
solutions there would be a lower pH level and high acidity. Some interesting facts are when swimming
if a pool has a high or low pH level you could get dry skin and burning eyes. Another interesting fact
is that ph is important in many things such as medicine, biology, chemistry, food, science and many
more. Orange juice pH ranges from 3.3 to 4.19, but generally around 3.5. Citric acid is what gives the
orange its acidity, and also its sour flavor. This means that it has a high to moderately high acidity.
Scientific Concepts:
Acids Compounds that have properties with the kinds of reactions they undergo. Acids also release or
donate hydrogen ions. This relates to our lab because orange juice is filled with citric acid, and we are
testing the amount of acid (pH)

The People s Republic Of China Case Report
For some time now, the People s Republic of China (PRC) has been suspected in the theft of critical
and highly sensitive information from the United States (U.S.). Through the exploitation of the stolen
data, the PRC has successfully designed, built, and ultimately tested several nuclear weapons as well
as other military related data such as fighter aircraft design. For good reason, these actions have raised
a significant level of concern with U.S. officials. Due to this concern, the U.S. commissioned an
official committee to investigate the theft of information by the PRC to include how, why, and
possible consequences of the stolen information. The committee has conducted a significant amount

security officials have determined that the weapons designed by the PRC that were based on stolen
U.S. designs can reach the U.S. mainland. Following a series of lengthy investigations, the Select
Committee has concluded that the PRC has the infrastructure, manufacturing capabilities, and the
skilled manpower that would allow for successful construction and mass production of U.S. designed
weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and ERWs. (Fisher 2011). The PRC has successfully stolen
classified information about U.S. Trident SLMB, Peacekeeper ICBM, Minuteman III, and Lance
SRBM nuclear missile systems. Use of these systems by the PRC could enhance the PRC s military
capabilities and jeopardize U.S. national security interests. This would pose a direct threat to the U.S.
and our allies (Government Publishing Office, n.d.). Throughout the 1990 s, the PRC conducted a
series of tests involving the stolen weapon designs. It was not until the discovery of these tests did the
U.S. intelligence community (IC) realize how significant and far reaching the theft was. Following the
PRC nuclear tests, the U.S. began to understand that the weak point within the system was inadequate
counterintelligence capabilities and implemented processes. Additionally, in 1995, a Chinese national
presented U.S. officials with a document that detailed what information was stolen from the U.S. and
how it was acquired. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) later

Comparing Kate Chopin’s The Storm and T. Coraghessan...
Comparing Kate Chopin s The Storm and T. Coraghessan Boyle s Greasy Lake
Kate Chopin and T. Coraghessan Boyle made excellent use of the elements point of view, character,
and setting in their short stories The Storm and Greasy Lake . Kate Chopin s characters and events
follow the setting the storm. This greatly enhances her work. Boyle s characters mirror his setting as
well a greasy lake. It is amazing how much greater depth and deeper the insight is for a story when the
potentials of elements of writing are fulfilled and utilized.
Chopin s The Storm is written in third person objective point of view. The narrator is not involved
with the characters in any way, just telling the story as it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main character of Boyle s story is the nameless narrator. He is more round than flat, mainly
because of the point of view of first person. The reader must of course get closer to the main character
because they become them when they read the story. The reader sees inside the narrator and through
his eyes out at the world around him because of his thoughts and actions. Boyle develops his main
character through the point of view taken they cannot be separated.
We wore torn up leather jackets, slouched around with toothpicks in our mouths, sniffed glue and
ether and what somebody claimed was cocaine. When we wheeled our parents whining station wagons
out onto the street we left a patch of rubber half a block long. We drank gin and grape juice, Tango,
Thunderbird, and Bali Hai. We were nineteen. We were bad. We read Andre Gide and struck elaborate
poses to show that we didn t give a shit about anything. (Boyle 129)
This self description of the narrator says it all. He gives a brutal, yet inflated description of himself
and his friends that gives the reader a very round main character.
The setting in both of these short stories is the essence of their themes. The authors have drawn
characters that parallel their settings. From this, the reader can draw many conclusions and insights
about the themes of the stories. The Storm occurs in Louisiana

In Breast Cancer, The Estrogen-Estrogen Receptor Complex
In breast cancer, the estrogen estrogen receptor complex cause cell proliferation (Frank, 2013).
Hormone therapies can target the effects of hormones in two ways: 1) by stopping the production of
estrogen and testosterone, reducing their levels, and 2) by binding to the hormone receptor and
blocking the hormone from binding (Frank, 2013). In breast cancer, drugs such as Lupron prevent the
ovaries from making estrogen by blocking cues from the brain that regulate the ovaries (Frank, 2013).
In prostate cancer, Lupron works the same way to prevent the testes from producing testosterone
(Frank, 2013). Drugs such as tamoxifen (breast cancer) and flutamide (prostate cancer) bind to their

To even have a chance at success, health education programs must be implemented before the age of
14 (Williams, 1987). Health education programs are being implemented in schools that will teach
about the dangers of smoking and passive smoking (Williams, 1987). This is a preventative measure to
decrease the amount of people in society who are smoking and prevent children from picking up this
habit. Another health disparity is ethnic background. A study found that Asian women are referred for
late treatment for a breast lump compared to Caucasian women (Winship, 1997). Part of this disparity
is the disbelief that Asian women can/will develop breast cancer (Winship, 1997). Hospitals and
medical professionals also contribute to this disparity with ignorance towards minority cultures and
lack of interpreters (Winship, 1997). There must be changes implemented to medical and nursing
training as well (Winship, 1997). Medical manufacturers have been delayed with responding to the
needs of ethnic minorities such as a providing a variety of shades for prosthetics (Winship, 1997).
There is a need for strategically targeted educational material that will educate Asian women and
women of other ethnic backgrounds about the risks of breast cancer or even developing any form of
cancer (Winship, 1997). In prostate cancer, there is a very high incidence and mortality rate seen in
black Americans (Gilligan, 2005). There are major social

Describe The Main Hypothesis Tested In The Study
1. Describe the main hypothesis tested in the study.
The main hypothesis being tested within the study was whether or not the fusiform gyrus was a
Region of Interest (ROI) that specialised in the perception of the human face. This main hypothesis
was confirmed in Part 1 of testing and was thus expanded in Part II and III, in which they eliminated
alternative hypothesis.
2. Explain why this new ROI technique is important for fMRI research.
The Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is a functional neuroimaging procedure that used
MRI technology to measure our brains activity through blood flow changes and our voxels.
In past experiments the researcher would have been required to scan images of the entire brain for

Explain one of the alternative accounts of the function of the FFA and how the current study is able to
refute (prove wrong) this account.
Imaging studies in the past have reported that the region of the fusiform gyrus is more active during
face recognition than object viewing, during face matching than location matching and during viewing
normal faces other than scrambled faces or textures. This research was a great beginning, but it does
not establish that this FFA is specifically involved in face recognition, as there is a range of alternative
interpretations of what can activate our brains. These alternative interpretations include low level
feature extraction, visual attention that is greater in faces and recognition of basic items and
recognition of human objects.
To test the first hypothesis the researcher ran an initial test to determine that the Region of Interest was
the fusiform gyrus. Following this he then measured the activity in this specific region to subjects
using four comparison tasks. Each of these tasks tested the alternative accounts that were previously
listed.
Part III tested one of these alternative accounts for faces compared with another human object e.g
hands. In these tests the data that was collected displayed higher intensity reactions in the ROI when
parts of the face were compared to viewing human

In recent years the recreational use of Methamphetamine (MDMA or Ecstasy) had risen greatly. It has
been linked to the rave lifestyle. Ravers use the drug to heighten their experience while partying and
dancing to electronic music. Persons outside of the rave scene who enjoy the euphoria the drug
produces also employ it. Because of this Methylenedioxymetamphetamine is currently one of the most
popular drugs in the Western world. Clearly research on the effects of this drug is needed to guard
against uneducated use by the masses, which may have disastrous consequences. Oral administration

Psychology, issue # 158, volume 10, in October of 2001. (1) In their experiment 22 long term MDMA
users, 19 long term cannabis users, and 20 drug naïve comparison subjects were evaluated in an
attempt to determine the effect MDMA use has on serotonergic function in humans. In order to
acquire the necessary data measurements were made with EEGs (electroencelphalagrams,) to measure
brain activity in the frontal cortex where serotonin is very important. EOGs (electrooculograms) were
used to measure eye movements. These movements were calculated as the difference between
voltages above and below the left eye. In order to measure the serotonin an auditory intensity
dependence function was employed. 5 HT in the primary auditory cortex (the part of the brain used to
process sound stimulus) is thought to operate as a protective mechanism by attenuating cortical
response to loud auditory stimuli. This means that auditory stimuli and the subjects response to said
stimuli is a good measurement of serotonin levels. (15,19). An example of this would be if the
response to a 100 deci bell noise would not be proportionately larger than the response to a noise with
only 60 deci bells. This is a particularly good way to measure 5 HT levels

Abstract This paper will touch over the aspects of Erik H Erickson s eight stages and how they affect
everyday lives from infancy to adulthood. The paper will go over the approximate ages and the
psychosocial crisis that they will eventually come to. Neglecting a child can lead to a cause of mental
negligence in the form of Arrested Development . Within different cultural backgrounds, this paper
will focus on the relationship of the infant and the mother, and the stresses and trauma they may or
may not have to discuss about a future development.
The biography of Erik Erikson Who exactly was Erik Erikson? Erik Erikson (1902 1994) was an art
teacher who became a psychoanalyst working with a person named, Anna Freud. Erikson was a
psychologist known for his psychological theory on human beings. Erikson trained as a Freudian
psychoanalyst but believed that social interaction was more important than Sigmund Freud s
psychosexual development. (Pearson 251). The word psych relates to the brain and the thinking into
the mind, and the word social relates to the way that the mind racks with those around us in the public.
So what is psychosocial really? Psychosocial is defined as the psychological development of the
individual in relation to his or her social environment.(Pearson 251) These eight stages (left column

St. Cyril of Alexandria: Defense of the Theotókos Jobin Thomas Introduction to Church History
September 12, 2015 St. Cyril of Alexandria, the Bishop of Alexandria (which is a Mediterranean port
city in Egypt) is one of the most renowned Fathers and Doctor of the Church. He was conferred the
title Doctor of the Church by Pope Leo XIII in 1882. At the beginning of the 5th century, theological
controversies on the understanding of the mystery of the incarnation and the title of Theotókos
bestowed on Mary erupted. One St. Cyril s most prominent teachings is his defense of Mary as the
Theotókos against Nestorius who preferred the term Chistotokos. Nestorius denial of the title of
Theotókos implies that Mary was not the Mother of God, and therefore God had not taken human
form in the person of Jesus Christ. Mary was simply the mother of an exemplary man. However,
through a careful examination of St. Cyril s defense of Mary as the Theotókos, we will come to see
why Nestorius position cannot be held and was condemned at the Council of Ephesus in 431.

My Nightmare Short Story
Living my nightmare. I am a sophomore at Sacred Heart University In Fairfield Connecticut. My
home is Trumbull Connecticut. I had dreams to adventure as far away as possible for school. I had
dreams of traveling and seeing the world and using my education as my excuse. But, I am a commuter
at Sacred Heart University and travel all of 12 minutes to get from my home to my education. How all
my dreams to get away came spiraling down is my story. My college story did not begin 12 minutes
away from home. My story started off as pursuing my dream of traveling, even if it was only three
hours from home. I spent one semester, four months, in which I thought was my dream. I am
independent, I am spontaneous and I am adventurous, or so I thought. Living my dream was the only
way I found out that I was small and shy. I was an outcast how terrifying. I started at Seton Hall
University, in South Orange New Jersey, where I found out that living my dream meant living with
four other girls, that sucked. I was used to living with one other girl in the room, my sister. But that is
my sister and who cares if she liked to sleep with the TV on, I was turning it off and would fight with
her about turning to back on with no shame. But, I was living with unfamiliar hair swimming in the
shower I was supposed to get clean in. I was able to smell disgusting smells from the bathroom while
laying in my perfume sprayed room. I had strangers (my roommate s friends) watching me while I

A Vinyl Stepping Stone Research Paper
1. A Vinyl Stepping Stone
Picture a person on the bus with earbuds in his ears. The earbuds are plugged into his phone and he s

is available to him on the go and effortlessly. Fifty years ago, this feat would ve been unbelievable.
Back in those days, music distribution was achieved from plastic discs called vinyl. These vinyl
records had a much more complicated process to play back music. One person would have to
physically go to their local record store and grab their vinyl disc, and then they d have to use a device
called a gramophone in order for them to play their music. In today s age, with the help of the internet,

Specifically, polyvinyl chloride was a tougher material that allowed the LP to do what no other
company has been able to accomplish. Columbia marketed these LPs as thinner, non breakable records
being more durable than the previous shellac material. In addition, these LPs were capable of having
micro grooves in the vinyl that were harder and finer, thus increasing the number of grooves it could
have tremendously. The grooves progressed from eighty and a hundred grooves per inch to an

having these micro grooves, the length of the recorded audio could now be extended. The LPs
displayed the capabilities of twenty three minutes playback per side. Because artists recorded in clean
recording rooms to prevent any noise and sound distortion picked up by audio equipment, they also
presented a cleaner sound than the hissing noise shellac records produced. Indubitably, the first LPs
had room for improvements and they took time to fix their flaws to a point where vinyl s boundaries
were reached. The results were perfectly imperfect long playing records of several diameters and

History Of Political Correctness In The United States
Political Correctness in the United States started with respectful origins; however in recent years, this
noble cause has taken a less than honorable turn for the worse. It s origins in the U.S. started sometime
in the late 1970s on college campuses, in an effort bring about a politeness between people. Sometime
in the 90 s, its intended use morphed into what we see today, a way to marginalize someone with a
different idea. Muscoreil (2013) claims it was neither a social movement nor a coherent political
platform but rather a tendency among governing bodies, especially in academic institutions, to police
the spoken, written, or implied beliefs of those with whom they disagreed. If we continue down this

Different Schools Of Statutory Interpretation
Introduction and Thesis There are multiple schools of thought when it comes to how courts should
interpret statues and legislation, some schools advocate a literal, textual reading of the relevant statues,
while other schools advocate taking other factors into account when making a decision, factors like
the intent of the legislature when they passed the statue. The case AA v BB provides a good look into
the issue of statutory interpretation because the two different courts that heard the case applied a
different from of statutory interpretation. The lower court stuck to a textual interpretation, whereas the
court of appeal considered the legislative intent behind the relevant statues. This paper will argue that
of the two schools of statutory interpretation applied in the case, textualism and intentionalism, neither
is completely appropriate and that the pragmatic approach to statutory interpretation is the most
appropriate method to use. It will then argue that the decision by the Ontario Court of Appeal in AA v
BB is the more convincing decision as it best aligns with the pragmatic approach.
Point I: Why the pragmatic approach is more appropriate than a strictly textualist or intentionalist
approach.
Textualism is a school of statutory interpretation that relies on the text of the statue to determine the
true intent of the legislature. Textualism is heavily reliant on the plain meaning rule, which essentially
means that when the text of a statue is clear and

King Zethius took a leisurely walk through his tranquil gardens at his own pace, and it was a slow,

a walk, calm his nerves, and gather his thoughts on issues soon to come. For many months, the king
and his advisers have met in one, of many cool, damp secret chambers beneath the Citadel of Splendor
to discuss the growing problems with lawless merchants outside Kelmoor Keep. For far too long the
wily merchants from Verktus and Westgate have plundered the small independent cities, towns, and

apply these key architectural techniques and materials to sublime effect we will explore the impact the

Some of the earliest evidence of the application of the arch date back to the second millennium BCE,

by the Romans cannot be understated. Concrete allowed Roman engineers to create great commercial

employed under water concrete technology on a large scale. In addition to the system of aqueducts,
concrete technology allowed Roman engineers to create networks of dams, canals and cisterns that
played a vital role in irrigation and feeding Rome s populace. Rome also constructed a number of
military installations including walls and strategic garrisons which helped to defend her citizens. The
construction of strategic bridges also helped logistically in moving Roman forces across her empire
which allowed her to maintain a military dominance that lasted for centuries. Roman concrete also
allowed for the creation of grand temples, baths and public buildings that helped maintain social
cohesion, supported the political system and influenced the Roman psyche engendering a pride and

The War Of Anti Semitism
Much has been argued regarding the existent of anti Semitism and the general disdain for Jewry
supposedly apparent in the plays of William Shakespeare. Time and again his work is held up as
representative of that which we with our 21st century sensibilities have been educated to abhor and
disavow. The hatred of man because of race, color or creed has, within the collective conscience been
largely rejected. The fostering of a self regulating society has engrained contemporary sensibilities
through the policy of political correctness: a body politic of public consciousness that wasn t apparent
in 16th century England or anywhere else in the western world for that matter. All were liable to open
ridicule via the medium of theatre, be they king or pauper, man or woman, Moore or Jew as evidenced
by the writing of the period. Everybody and everything much to the delight of the paying public and
the disdain of the censor was fair game. The subject Jew, Moore etc. is irrelevant, as the subjects
themselves are simply the masks upon which the foil of disdain is played. Whether xenophobic, racist,
misogamist or anti Semitic or any other form of depredation Shakespeare s writing, rather than guilty
of one, is representative of all. Shakespeare uses the Jew as a representation rather than as an example
and therefore, can be forgiven for what we today would class as anti Semitism. The dearth of Jewry at
this particular period of history in England supports this and

Gun Control Laws Limit Violent Crime
Founding Father Benjamin Franklin once said that, Those who can give up essential liberty to obtain a
little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. The great American republic was founded on
the principle of liberty for all. The Bill of Rights, which is a pillar of US democracy, clearly stipulates
that all citizens have the right to bear arms. It is senseless to sacrifice this fundamental right for a false
illusion of safety. We can reference previous periods of history in which the government placed
restrictions on products and examine how ineffective they were. Furthermore, we can look at the
absence of a correlation between strict gun control measures and reducing violent crime rates in US
states. It is time to ensure that our Constitution is upheld to protect the ideals of American democracy.
The proposal of restricting US citizens from purchasing firearms is invalid because they are protected
to do so under the Constitution, strict government regulations on other harmful products have not been
effective in the past, and the idea that gun control laws limit violent crime is a misconception.
As Americans and lovers of liberty, you must exercise your birthright and strike down any proposals
to restrict the right to bear arms. Restricting this right is tarnishing the Constitution, which is the
central element of American government. This is why the importance of upholding the Second
Amendment cannot be emphasized enough. It provides the final line of

Willy Loman Critical Analysis
An individual s ability to foresee into the future can often be regarded as a gift, but this ability can also
be a curse. One can either anticipate or fear for the future. Oftentimes, fear motivates individuals to
create and achieve a vision of what they desire for the future. In the play, Death of a Salesman by
Arthur Miller, an aging salesman, Willy Loman, struggles to earn a living as well as struggle to
maintain his relationship with his family. When an individual s fear dictate how they should think and
act, this can lead to the inability of the individual to make appropriate life altering decisions. If an
individual clings on to their fears they maintain their foresight, however, when one gambles with their
fears they may lose their vision for their future and may lead to a desirable outcome.
Initially, Willy Loman is revealed to have been abandoned by his father and later on his brother when
he first revisits the past, establishing the root of his fears. Willy s abandonment raised multiple
questions and issues that he was unable to find the answers to. This event developed his deep
insecurity about being well liked and ironically prompted him to abandon his family. Willy s
perception towards appearances led him to be unsuccessful in business as well as having disconnected
relationships with those around him. Willy has built an unattainable expectation that is contradictory
to his nature and it began with him clinging on to being a salesman knowing that deep down

David Koresh And The Branch Davidians Ninth Day Adventists
Term Paper: David Koresh and The Branch Davidians Seventh Day Adventists Bio: David
Koresh, born Vernon Howell, was born August 17, 1959 to a single mother named Bonnie Clark, of 14,
in Houston, Texas. His father was Bobby Howell with whom he never met. Koresh in his early years
reported his life as lonely and alleged that he was beaten by his alcoholic step father. He struggled in
school, was dyslexic, developed poor study skills, and also had a stutter that led to him being put into
special education classes. However, after he dropped out of high school he later found his passion in
the Bible and rock music. He eventually legally married Rachel Jones, with who he would have two
daughters and a son. Koresh joined a Branch of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He forced the men in his following to become celibate and to give their wives to him. Koresh began
sleeping with the other women and impregnating them. He had seventeen children total. There was
also speculation that Koresh was sleeping with girls as young as the age of 12. Many accused Koresh
of child abuse, where he would spank the children and beat them near death. Child Protective Service
began asking questions and drove out to the compound to investigate. The investigation never found
any wrong doing by Koresh, however, their concern was the gun safety of the camp. Koresh had
begun a small gun selling and trading business to try increase income, which led to him stocking the
ranch with guns and ammunition. This led to an investigation of illegal possession of firearms and
explosives by the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF). He later said that
the Lord willed him and the Davidians to build an army of God . After a time of investigation the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms decided that something needed to be done. On February 28,
1993, they decided to raid the compound which led to the death of six Branch Davidians and four
agents. Following the raid, the FBI took jurisdiction because of the deaths by agents involved. This led
to a 51 day standoff where FBI negotiators communicated with Koresh inside the compound. They felt
Koresh was holding his followers hostage and delayed surrendering them because he claimed that he

Abby Lee Dance Analysis
Being a psychology major, I tend to enjoy dances that appeal to emotion through stories. The dance
that I decided to write this paper on is a small group contemporary piece performed by the Abby Lee
Dance Company. This dance has a sad theme to it, as it deals with the topic of suicide. They use props
including a table and three telephones to add creativity to the piece. This dance is interesting to me
because of the affiliation it has to mental illness, which is personally important to me. This dance,
called Suicide Hotline, features a dancer in a white costume who is going through a tough time, she is
the focus of the group dance. Three other dancers, dressed in black, are there to help her and in a sense
hold her up , literally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since they have a table as their prop, we get to see a different aspect of levels than you normally
would if the girls were only on the floor. During this dance, there are moments where girls are laying
on the floor and someone could be standing on the table. There are other times where a girl is laying
down on the table while the others stand behind her. Other times, they could all be on the floor, but
one girl could be standing and the others are lying or sitting on the floor. Throughout the entire dance,
they are moving around on the floor, table, or standing up on either one. I find this to be extremely
appealing because it allows our eyes to focus on different moments or on certain dancers, which is
mainly the dancer who is the focus of the group. The table provides a different experience with levels
that we would not see if they were just dancing on the

Food Effects On The Fetus
which has a direct link to the fetus s own stress and feelings (Paul 6 7). With that being said society
and government have a different view and feel the need to push guilt on expecting mother s because
already food has been moralized by the fear of gaining weight (Paul 20 21). Of all things that could be
bad for the fetus, food specifically promotes a decrease in fear in the fetus as well as an increase in
joy. The magical food that creates this wonderful euphoria is chocolate. Aside from positively
affecting the fetus it has been shown to lower preeclampsia or a condition concerning increased blood
pressure (Paul 40). Along with what the mother eats she must also worry about working. From the

Researcher from New York University, psychiatrist Dolores Malaspina, found that women who were
pregnant during the Arab Israel Six Day War gave birth to offspring who were significantly more
likely to develop schizophrenia as young adults. Stress alone on the mother can be extremely
detrimental to the fetus s brain. Low income families and countries are at a higher risk for perinatal
common mental disorder (Rylander, et al par.33). Research that has been put to rest is that the fetus is
completely protected from the outside world, such as the affects of air, water, alcohol and second hand
smoke. The child has an increased chance of being directly fed all these toxins from the mother in
which the amniotic fluid is a link to both. This is a crucial time for mother and child, being that the
defenses of both are at risk (Paul 8). A phenomenal woman by the name of Margaret Spinelli has
developed a treatment of therapy for the specific needs of pregnant women, concerning the family,
friends and relationships you have in your life. Relationships, both past and present, assume a special
importance when a woman is pregnant (Paul 164). A special place in your brain called the

Emotions In Marjane Satrapi s The Complete Persepolis
In the graphic novel The Complete Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, the graphic novelist, cartoonist, and
illustrator portrays her emotions through her panels. Throughout the novel Satrapi s emotions change
constantly because of the current situation and state of emotion that she is in. Persepolis is about
Marjane Satrapi s life as a child in Tehran and during this time the Islamic Revolution is beginning
and new laws were being enforced. This also played a huge part in her change of emotions which is
portrayed throughout the book as the angles and in the absence of background in the images. This

How Does Chaucer Describe The Wife Of Bath
The medieval period is the period in history beginning with the Renaissance, literally meaning the
middle period in history. Clothing, tradition, religion and lifestyle were viewed much differently than
they are in today s modern society. The best example of all the different types of people and their
lifestyles is Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, in which he opens with a description of twenty nine people
going on a pilgrimage. The way people behave today allows readers to recognize each character s
distinct personality. In the General Prologue , Chaucer describes the Wife of Bath in a way that is
much different than how he describes the other twenty eight characters. His use of imagery, word
choice, tone and rhythm to describe the Wife lure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He describes the Wife as a self confident person who thinks highly of herself and had been respectable
throughout her life due to her incredible skills as a cloth maker (Chaucer 461). She wore ten pounds of
clothing that she wove herself. She loves showing off her cloth making expertise and is not shy at
presenting herself in front of other people. Chaucer describes her physical appearance in ways that
express a lustful and almost seductive person during this time period. The description of her clothing,
legs, feet, hips, and her gap tooth is an accurate representation of what seemed to attract a man to a
lady during this time. She was a very open minded woman who adored the idea of love and marriage
which can be proved by her ...five churched husbands bringing joy and strife (Chaucer 462). She goes
on pilgrimages to several different places which gives the impression that she is a devout Christian
and portrays her as a religious woman. Chaucer s description of the Wife of Bath makes the readers
think about the other characters in the general prologue and how she is much different than the

I.INTRODUCTION: The advances in the data capturing, storage, and communication technologies
have made vast amounts of video data available to consumer and enterprise applications [1]. However,
interacting with multimedia data, and video in particular, requires more than connecting with data
banks and delivering data via networks to customers, homes or offices. We still have limited tools and
applications to describe, organize, and manage video data. The fundamental approach is to index
video data and make it a structured media. Manually generating video content description is time
consuming and thus more costly to the point that it s almost impossible. This is because of the
structure of video data,

  • 2. Why Was Lebron Important Why is LeBron the person he is? How did he become good at leading his team to the NBA finals? Did one day he just woke up with this ability and then used it to play basketball or something? The reason why LeBron is the person he is today is because he practice. He made steps and plans on how to do things. In addition to that he started at a young age at being a good leader and a good student at school. Even though that LeBron was extremely good at basketball, he had to do his work in order to play the game he loved so much. Most people in the world would like to be him. Those who ask him how to become like him wonder, what steps and plans should they make in order to become successful. John F. Kennedy said, Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. There are certain steps that need to be taken in order to accomplish that. Good students and leaders need to create steps and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to have a starting point, everyone would need to start from somewhere. Therefore in order to become a leader, a leader needs to start off by example. That means that the person who wants to become a potential leader to the world or to everyone that passes his or her way needs to show off by example. Because actions speak louder than words, but still a leader needs to know how to speak. Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, and your values become your destiny, Mahatma Gandhi. The first way to show a successful person is by having good grades in every single class. Especially in the classes that are difficult. It shows that he or she is able to tackle the difficult task that comes their way. After that, the person would most likely be at the top of his or her class or at least try to be head to head with the person with the highest grade in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Induction And Induction Essay Deduction and Induction Isabel Bolio A way in which a human being can acquire knowledge is by reasoning through guided principles of validity; which is therefore through logic. This extends our understanding of our surroundings. Within logic there are two branches that lead to reasonable conclusions, these are: inductive and deductive logic. In the following paragraphs this two instruments will be described and exemplified in order to compare them as means to reach logic. Inductive logic is the form to achieve a conclusive and specific knowledge through general rules. It is the urge of humans to construct patterns of observation through time. We all use simple induction all the time; for example. We assume that because the sun has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This example demonstrates how humans draw conclusions without enough examples, therefore another problem arises: how many examples do we need to form a completely truthful conclusion? On the other hand there is the opposite of Inductive logic: Deductive logic. It is the process by which a secure conclusion can be reached through one or more general statements that are otherwise called premises . It goes form general to specific. So if one is equal to two and two is equal to three then we know that one is equal to two. This way of reasoning is easily applied to our ordinary lives an example is: every day I leave to school at eight o clock; I take fifteen minutes and get there on time, therefore if today I leave at eight o clock I will get to school on time. Another example; all students that have high SAT scores do well in collage, a Laura had high SAT scores, she will do well in collage. Equivalently to Inductive reasoning deductive logic has limitations. The issue is that the premises are either drawn form observation or are merely assumptions. This means that the premises of a deductive argument may come from inductive reasoning, which automatically leads us to the previous problems encountered. It may however be that the deductive argument is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Michael Ondaatje s postmodern exploration of the early, developmental years of Canada, In the Skin of a Lion, is expressed through multiple perspectives, with no dominant perspective or omniscient narrator. The narrative is presented as fragmented and contains interruptions from intersecting perspectives. The presence of class conflict forces the characters to experience extreme adversity, with their contributions to building the society going unnoticed until Ondaatje has addressed their social exclusion. Through reinterpretations of motifs and symbols, Ondaatje adds new dimensions to events in history and characterizations, whilst the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whilst Harris perceives it as symbol of life and creation, water ironically takes the lives of the workers in the Waterworks with the water heaving in, shouldering them aside in a fast death if they dig just one degree up. The harsh and tedious conditions of the work, pissing where they work, eating where someone else left there shit , dehumanizes the workers, insulting their inherent dignity and contrasting the imagery of opulent structure they are building. Harris notes the Egyptian feel of the palace, equating his works to that of the pyramids which coincidentally draws a link to the cruel treatment of the workers and how bodies have similarly been entombed in the structure during construction. Ondaatje, however, recognizes their contribution in revealing glimpses of certain characters; the voiceless and marginalized become recognizable as the novel progresses Ondaatje presents Patrick Lewis as character amongst the lower class to demonstrate the fluidity of identity, through the journey he undertakes, which allows him to emerge from passivity. Patrick s quest to gain enlightenment is reflected in the prologue, as he drives through the unbetrayed countryside, introducing implications of hope and maturation whilst isolation and alienation is indicated through the prevailing image of darkness. This sense of isolation is further expressed through Patrick s childhood. Ondaatje addressed the roots of his abashed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In reality we are human beings, we all make mistakes whether those mistakes may be big or small they don t define us. Instead those mistakes help us grow, they shape us into the people that we have become today, and they continue to shape us into the people that we will be in the future and so on. Ted talks why your worst deeds don t define you discusses why our deeds do not define us. During the video Shaka Senghor thrashed out that we are simply human, and everyone makes mistakes. Those with disadvantaged neighborhoods partake in a subgroup which approves delinquency. As Shaka said in his Ted talk that he was not from a good neighborhood. • 7. Lab Report On The Ph Of The Potential Hydrogen Ion... Chapter 7 Lab Report Background Research pH is a measure of the potential hydrogen ion concentration of a solution. Solutions that have low pH s or a ph level below 7 are considered acidic. Solutions that have a high pH level or above 7 are considered basic. The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a solution may be. Some examples of solutions that have high acidity and a low pH level are Battery acid, lemon juice, and vinegar. Some solutions that are basic and a high pH level are soapy water, baking soda, and drain cleaner. Temperature plays a role on how high or low a solutions pH level is. For example, the colder the solution the less acidic it would be therefore it would have a high pH level. For warmer solutions there would be a lower pH level and high acidity. Some interesting facts are when swimming if a pool has a high or low pH level you could get dry skin and burning eyes. Another interesting fact is that ph is important in many things such as medicine, biology, chemistry, food, science and many more. Orange juice pH ranges from 3.3 to 4.19, but generally around 3.5. Citric acid is what gives the orange its acidity, and also its sour flavor. This means that it has a high to moderately high acidity. The main hypothesis being tested within the study was whether or not the fusiform gyrus was a Region of Interest (ROI) that specialised in the perception of the human face. This main hypothesis was confirmed in Part 1 of testing and was thus expanded in Part II and III, in which they eliminated alternative hypothesis. 2. Explain why this new ROI technique is important for fMRI research. Explain one of the alternative accounts of the function of the FFA and how the current study is able to refute (prove wrong) this account. Imaging studies in the past have reported that the region of the fusiform gyrus is more active during face recognition than object viewing, during face matching than location matching and during viewing normal faces other than scrambled faces or textures. This research was a great beginning, but it does not establish that this FFA is specifically involved in face recognition, as there is a range of alternative interpretations of what can activate our brains. These alternative interpretations include low level feature extraction, visual attention that is greater in faces and recognition of basic items and recognition of human objects. To test the first hypothesis the researcher ran an initial test to determine that the Region of Interest was the fusiform gyrus. Following this he then measured the activity in this specific region to subjects using four comparison tasks. Each of these tasks tested the alternative accounts that were previously listed. Part III tested one of these alternative accounts for faces compared with another human object e.g hands. (1) In their experiment 22 long term MDMA users, 19 long term cannabis users, and 20 drug naïve comparison subjects were evaluated in an attempt to determine the effect MDMA use has on serotonergic function in humans. In order to acquire the necessary data measurements were made with EEGs (electroencelphalagrams,) to measure brain activity in the frontal cortex where serotonin is very important. EOGs (electrooculograms) were used to measure eye movements. These movements were calculated as the difference between voltages above and below the left eye. In order to measure the serotonin an auditory intensity dependence function was employed. 5 HT in the primary auditory cortex (the part of the brain used to process sound stimulus) is thought to operate as a protective mechanism by attenuating cortical response to loud auditory stimuli. This means that auditory stimuli and the subjects response to said stimuli is a good measurement of serotonin levels. (15,19). An example of this would be if the response to a 100 deci bell noise would not be proportionately larger than the response to a noise with only 60 deci bells. He was conferred the title Doctor of the Church by Pope Leo XIII in 1882. At the beginning of the 5th century, theological controversies on the understanding of the mystery of the incarnation and the title of Theotókos bestowed on Mary erupted. One St. Cyril s most prominent teachings is his defense of Mary as the Theotókos against Nestorius who preferred the term Chistotokos. • 30. Different Schools Of Statutory Interpretation Introduction and Thesis There are multiple schools of thought when it comes to how courts should interpret statues and legislation, some schools advocate a literal, textual reading of the relevant statues, while other schools advocate taking other factors into account when making a decision, factors like the intent of the legislature when they passed the statue. The case AA v BB provides a good look into the issue of statutory interpretation because the two different courts that heard the case applied a different from of statutory interpretation. The lower court stuck to a textual interpretation, whereas the court of appeal considered the legislative intent behind the relevant statues. This paper will argue that of the two schools of statutory interpretation applied in the case, textualism and intentionalism, neither is completely appropriate and that the pragmatic approach to statutory interpretation is the most appropriate method to use. It will then argue that the decision by the Ontario Court of Appeal in AA v BB is the more convincing decision as it best aligns with the pragmatic approach. Point I: Why the pragmatic approach is more appropriate than a strictly textualist or intentionalist approach. Textualism is a school of statutory interpretation that relies on the text of the statue to determine the true intent of the legislature. Textualism is heavily reliant on the plain meaning rule, which essentially means that when the text of a statue is clear and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Time and again his work is held up as representative of that which we with our 21st century sensibilities have been educated to abhor and disavow. The hatred of man because of race, color or creed has, within the collective conscience been largely rejected. The fostering of a self regulating society has engrained contemporary sensibilities through the policy of political correctness: a body politic of public consciousness that wasn t apparent in 16th century England or anywhere else in the western world for that matter. All were liable to open ridicule via the medium of theatre, be they king or pauper, man or woman, Moore or Jew as evidenced by the writing of the period. Everybody and everything much to the delight of the paying public and the disdain of the censor was fair game. The subject Jew, Moore etc. is irrelevant, as the subjects themselves are simply the masks upon which the foil of disdain is played. Whether xenophobic, racist, misogamist or anti Semitic or any other form of depredation Shakespeare s writing, rather than guilty of one, is representative of all. Gun Control Laws Limit Violent Crime Founding Father Benjamin Franklin once said that, Those who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. The great American republic was founded on the principle of liberty for all. The Bill of Rights, which is a pillar of US democracy, clearly stipulates that all citizens have the right to bear arms. It is senseless to sacrifice this fundamental right for a false illusion of safety. We can reference previous periods of history in which the government placed restrictions on products and examine how ineffective they were. Furthermore, we can look at the absence of a correlation between strict gun control measures and reducing violent crime rates in US states. It is time to ensure that our Constitution is upheld to protect the ideals of American democracy. The proposal of restricting US citizens from purchasing firearms is invalid because they are protected to do so under the Constitution, strict government regulations on other harmful products have not been effective in the past, and the idea that gun control laws limit violent crime is a misconception. As Americans and lovers of liberty, you must exercise your birthright and strike down any proposals to restrict the right to bear arms.
