Persuasive Essay On The Freedom Of Speech
A girl is crying quietly to herself staring at her computer. You see on the screen that an anonymous
person named SilentNight is sending messages that contain content shaming this girl for how she
would never accomplish anything in life. These occurrences in the United States happen regularly.
1 in 4 teenagers have been cyberbullied one point or another. Freedom of speechis being misused
because you can say whatever you want no matter how extreme, it is creating cyberbullying and
cyberstalking and incites strong emotions in those affected.
Freedom of speech is being misused because you can say whatever you what no matter how
extreme. Recent issues of this topic range from extremist websites in Norway to hate speech in
Rohingya. Both of these occurrences sparked violence throughout their nations. It all started with
extreme views that people spread out to the internet, and eventually sparking deadly violence.
Nobody is completely safe, old opinions can be recycled in an instant, that means that whatever
you say in the past can get brought up in the future, creating controversy. According to Yale

The Power And The Promise Of Ecological Feminism Summary
In the reading The Power and the Promise of Ecological Feminism , the author, Karen J. Warren,
explains her argument on the inevitable connection between the oppression of women and the
oppression of nature. She further suggests that ecofeminism provides a framework to re envision
feminism and create an environmental ethic which takes into account the connection between
sexism and naturism.
Understanding feminist issues conceptually helps to understand environmental issues. The
conceptual framework of the identical dominations of women and nature is oppressive and
patriarchal, which justifies the oppression. The three main components of oppressive conceptual
framework are vertical thinking, or thinking in terms of rank, value dualisms, or exclusive
oppositional ideas, and the logic of domination, which is the logic structured to lead to the
justification of subordination. The logic of domination component, when coupled with the the other
two components, creates the problem of subordination justification and ... Show more content on

Not only are the dominations of women and nature both patriarchally justified through the logic of
domination, but the historical and social realistic conceptions of gender and nature are also both
socially fabricated.
Warren brings up the important use of the first person narrative to make people aware of the
pertinent ethical issues often forgotten. She claims it is a substantial mechanism in both feminism
and ecofeminism for four reasons: 1) it is a method that exhibits the importance of relationships, 2)
it reveals many attitudes and behaviors of ethics often neglected, such as the ethic of care, 3) it
provides a realistic situations in which moral beings can relate, and 4) it demonstrates what counts

Self Reflection Essay
I m written this statement in response to the meeting we had on 6/22/2017 with Alex Wade and
Darryl Massey who conducted my performance review. After careful consideration and further
review, I feel I needed to clear up some areas of misunderstanding. I truly do not feel the evaluation
represents my knowledge level nor my working ability.
In the performance review you stated, Ella does not show a lot of planning ability She does not
include (Alex) others in the plans she makes . You used an example that does not paint an accurate

knowledge. I know it is equally important to take the time to learn the job process that better

The Gut Microbiome Of Giant Pandas
The giant pandas spend around 14 hours a day eating bamboo which usually doesn t digest very
well. Some of their unique features includes powerful jaw and a enlarge wrist bone that functions
as an opposable thumb to help them eat bamboos. But when a group of Chinese researchers tested
the gut microbiome of giant pandas by sequencing ribosomal RNA in their feces and comparing it
to other mammals like bears and lions. They are surprised of the results, that showed pandas are
lacking the plant digesting bacteria like Ruminococcaceae and Bacteroides which help properly
digest plants. Instead they carry a bacteria like Streptococcus and Escherichia/Shigella that can be
found mostly in carnivores. This would mean that giant pandas has not fully

Looking for a Job and Stories from Korcula Island
It is 2010/2011 the summer is on the front door and I m start to think about the job that I could
work this summer. I was start searching on a few places and talk with some people for some
free place to work and at that moment it seems that I will have a job, but I was not feel some
kind optimistic about them. Day by day I feel relaxed with the fact that I have some free time to
enjoy before I start with the job and that was a pretty good for me. As the time was passing, of
course no one of them still didn t call me as I expect, so it was obvious that I will need some
alternative to earn some money, somehow. I start to search again but now it was to late, because
everybody now have people to work for them. In one moment I feel like Im without options but I
new that at least I can count to work with my parents with apartments, and to be honest that is not
such bad. Everyday meeting new people from all around the world, you can learn something about
some other culture, mentality, and similar. On the Korcula island summeris the best partof the year,
there is a lot of people everywhere, a lot of event is going on and it is really great compared to
winter. The best day of the year is the 30. Of June, it is celebrating the half of new year and it is

Relationships Between Friendliness And Hostility And...
Abstract
In this study, we looked at the relationships between friendliness and hostility and agreeableness in
college students. We hypothesized that students who were high in friendliness would also be high
in agreeableness, while being low in hostility. We expected a strong correlation with agreeableness,
and a slightly strong correlation with hostility. However, when looking at all three traits we found
that agreeableness, while being the big umbrella it is, might not fully account for traits underneath
it. As well as friendliness and hostility having a stronger negative correlation than we anticipated.
Keywords: Friendliness, Hostility, Agreeableness, Personality
Friendliness in College age Students In this study we aimed to look at the personality trait of
friendliness. Friendliness can be defined as the good nature, amiability of one s personality. In
other words: how agreeable and outgoing one is towards others. Friendliness has been found to
be more prevalent in females than males (Moskowitz, 1993), and has been found to be generalized
across situations. In this research we want to look at college students to see if there is any
significance between friendliness and aggressiveness. To do this we have created our own
friendliness scale and compared it to the Iowa State Hostility Scale (Dill, Anderson, Anderson,
Deuser, 1997) and the agreeableness items from the Ten Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) (Gosling,
Augustine, Vazire, Holtzman, Gaddis, 2011).

Benzodiazepines Antidepression Essay
Benzodiazepines include anticonvulsant drugs (tested in the study) and antidepression and anxiety
drugs (medications my patient was on specifically Xanax) However to perfectly match the study to
the clinical problem, Cerebral Palsy patients taking Xanax could be measured against Cerebral
Palsy patient not taking any medication plus a control group of normal individuals. The definitions
used in the study were similar to the PICO research term. The health care system in the study was
in Brazil therefor not that similar to the patient as described in the clinical problem. Perhaps a study
done in Australia or Sydney would further strengthen the relevance to the clinical question. Ages in

Bruxism in Cerebral palsy patients may not be similar to that which occur in normal individuals
Coming off or going on certain medication to reduce or eliminate bruxism is not an immediate
decision to be made in regard to tooth grinding. Few studies have been conducted therefore there is
not enough evidence to suggest medication is the cause of bruxism. Taking medications to treat
certain conditions far outweighs the need to go off these medications to reduce bruxism when other
treatment can be considered. Advice must be given to patient and parent about tooth grinding and
clenching and can include that the drugs may (but not certainly) have an effect on this. Its
important to discuss implementation of other intervention strategies before going on or off any

Essay on Overview of John Demos s Unredeemed Captive
The Unredeemed Captive tells a story of struggles a family went through to stay true to one
another. Eunice Williams was taken captive and family went through many obstacles to try and
get her home. Both Eunice and her family were captured together along with many other town
residents in the Deerfield Massacre of 1704. Demos precisely described the Deerfield raid along
with the process of traveling to Canada. Throughout the book, Demos also covered some
individual captive experiences and events. Demos showed the life of Eunice before her life was
changed and how it would be if she was not taken. He stated why the raid was the way it was and
showed the success of it.

The three hundred mile journey to Montreal has begun. As this moment, The Williamses know
they are destined for a march . . . into a strange land, as prisoners (Demos 19). Things began to get
rough as the trail elongated. Out of all the captives, only ninety two captives survived the actual
march to Canada. Many of the captives were killed along the journey. Many were women including
John Williams wife. Before the captives reached Canada, the group split into smaller groups. They
all ended up going in separate destinations. As days and months eventually went by, the Williams
children along with many other remaining captives were eventually dispersed amongst the
numerous participating Indians tribes. Upon coming to New France, the prisoners were sold to the
French, and later exchanged for release by the governors of the English and French colonies.
For John Williams, he was redeemed by the French governor. There would be no hope of his
children being released for a while. Not until Mr. Williams made his way back to New England,
which ended up being almost three years he eventually got the French governor to release all of
his children after a negotiation. Only one was left captive, her name was Eunice. She ended up
staying a captive for many years at the starting age of six years old. The Kahnawake Indian tribe
took her and refused to sell her to the French.

Canada Goose Persuasive Essay
In order for us to enter the luxury fashion market, I have three suggestions that would not only
improve the public perception of the brand but also increase our profit. Currently, Nunnavut Puffin
is more well known for the functionality of the jackets, rather than for our values as luxury goods.
Unlike Canada Gooseand Moncler, which are perceived as luxury goods, rather than merely
outwear, we have a smaller range of products, our price range is lower, and also we lack efficient
marketingstrategies. Because Canada Goosealso started as an outdoor apparel company, we will be
able to transition to a luxury outwear brand if we look closely at the history of Canada Goose and
benchmark them.
First, we need to redesign our logo. Luxury outwear brands like Moncler and Canada Goose are
represented by their unique logos. When someone wears Canada Goose, you recognize the jacket
he or she is wearing because of the logo. Their marketing strategies take advantage of human
psychology that we like to show off and prove to others how much we can spend on a winter coat
that we are only wearing in winter. In order to shift ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

consumers admire celebrities and want to be like them. This can be illustrated by Adidas Yeezy,

Essay on James Madison
James Madison
In the years following the Revolutionary War, the economic and political condition in the newly
declared nation was disastrous. The young states were in extreme debt after the expense of the
war, and economic growth was hampered by the fact that each state had its own tariffs and
currencies. The Continental Congress was helpless to repair the dilemma because of its inability to
tax (Garraty, 1971).
In the middle of all the confusion, however, a commercial dispute, the Oyster War, between Virginia
and Maryland was successfully solved with assistance from General George Washington and James
Madison. Surprised and delighted, the Maryland delegation suggested a larger meeting, including a
few other states, to adopt a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
James Madison took every measure possible to ensure the success of the Constitutional Convention.
He began by urging the seemingly unenthusiastic Washington to attend the Convention, realizing
the importance of his appearance at this meeting. Washington was seen as the hero of the
revolution, and his absence would be disastrous to the public approval of any document the
Convention might agree on. Madison, understanding the eventual need for public approval as
well as the delegates , carefully persuaded the General to attend (Overview, 2000). Having
ensured that the meeting itself would meet with approval, Madison set to work to create a
proposal that would do the same. He prepared extensively for the Constitutional Convention before
it ever convened at Philadelphia, studying the strengths and weaknesses of every historical
government he could find information on. His studies were extremely intense; Madison delved
into well known and obscure forms of government alike, from all continents and peoples, searching
for the faults and virtues of each. He made extensive notes on all his readings, and compiled his
own ideas of how to create a successful government (Kauffmann, 2000). Upon sharing and
defending his views with his fellow delegates at the Virginia Convention, an extensive proposal

Puberty and nutrition, variability in the timing of menarche and social implications. Puberty
refers to the set of physical changes that signal the onset of reproductive maturation. According
to the book, the onset of puberty is complex, involving several factors, such as individuals and
family genetics and family dynamic. Before the 1900 s, the average age of menarche for girls in
the United States was over 14. In today s society 80% of all American girls reach menarche

worldwide is 13.5 years, ranging from 12.5 to 14.5 years, with even later menarche found among
malnourished girls in undeveloped countries. Girls are known for reaching their menarche at
about the same time as their biological mothers, suggesting a genetic influence. The racial/ethnic

If they choose to leave the country, or send money back to family in their country of origin, this
means that the money will leave its original economy and be positioned within another, affecting
the original economy negatively and the new one positively. There are many other types of global
connection, as stated before, someone can leave their country of origin to travel elsewhere, making
new connections with people on the way, this does not mean that all connections from their home
are lost, they are maintained alongside the new connections as they are made. Business
connections are global connections that can be viewed as both positive and negative, an example
of this can be seen in Raghuram and Hardill s study(1998, cited by Raghuram, 2009,p181) on

Essay On Europeans And Native Americans
The unexpected encounter between the Europeans and the Natives had the huge impact on the

Natives had an extremely negative for having powerful weapons and spreading diseases such as
smallpox, also for killing people. In documents 2, 3, 5, and 7 had a huge impact on the natives in

Comparing Beowulf And Captain America
What is a hero? As a society we have many ideals of them and with the recent events, whether they
are real, War on Terror, The persecution of our emergency responders, the upcoming political
races; or are simply all the new superhero movies coming out, the definition of a hero is somewhat
vague. Looking at Beowulf, however and comparing him to Captain America, a revisit of an old
comic book, we can see that though times have changed, our idea of the prefect hero, which these
stories seem to describe to us remain largely unchanged. In the opening part of Beowulf, a fiend
of hell, began to do evil. The grim demon (Lines 100 102). This monster is Grendel and he seeks
the utter destruction of Heorot Hall and the warriors within. Captain America s greatest foe is the

How Did Epicurus Contribute To The Good Life
Epicurus believed that the idea of pleasure was important but had to restrained. He contributed to
modern hedonism. He created the garden a sort of ancient Utopia that he used as a base for his
teachings and claimed that all were welcome but must reject their old lives and society. His guide
to the good life included the use and creation of Tetrapharmakos, which had four points that people
should live by to attain the good life. These included, God is nothing to fear, one if Epicurusbiggest
idea was in his riddle, if god is so powerful and willing to help others, then why does evil exist?
And if is not so powerful and is not willing then why are they called gods and why are they

Human Resources And Human Resource Practices
Regardless of the size of a business or whether it is a multi million dollar software distributor or a
productive trucking company, there is one thing that most all companies have in common. Every
company needs to have efficient human resource practices. According to Mayhew (n.d.), human
resources plays an essential role in developing a company s strategy as well as handling the
employee centered activities of an organization (para. 1). If the employees are the backbone of an
organization then the human resource department is the brain stem. It can be the glue that holds an
organization together, or the hammer that breaks the organization apart. There are many issues that
companies face when dealing with human resources. Things such as payroll disputes and
disgruntled employees are fairly common, but for the most part they are easy to overcome. The
major issue that companies have to face when it comes to human resources is a double edged
sword. It is both a blessing and a hindrance at times. This issue is how to handle the ever changing
diversity within the organization. In order to be a successful human resource department of an
organization that treats their diverse workforce in a fair and equal manner, one must first
understand how the workforce demographics are changing, what problems may arise due to these
changes, and how to overcome these problems. It is a delicate dance that must be done on a daily
basis.

Reasons Behind Joining the Military Essay
There are a lot of graduates fresh out of high schools that make the decision to use the military.
There are some people that join the military because that is a fast and easy choice for them. The
military gives everyone a wide variety of options. College for instance, the military allows you to
serve your country and still have time to attend college and get a degree if you choose to do that.
People that choose to join the militaryget the option to go to college anytime they feel during their
military career. The military pays for part or all the tuition. The military has four different
branches, Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines. Each branch offers different trades. Air Force for
example, teaches people to fly, have mechanical skills,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When people realize that they can travel the world with the military, and have many career options
to choose from, they realize that by joining military they would have the opportunity to travel the
world doing a job they love.
For some people that have a reason they do not want to go to college right out of high school is
because they may be tired of going school. When people look at the economy today, it is tough to
get a job that they would want to make a career of without some kind of college credits or even a
degree. That is one thing that the military can offer to anyone that does not necessarily want to take
that destination in their life. First, they will go to the branch of their choice and attend their boot
camp and learning the foundation of the basic knowledge recruits will need to know. Recruits then
go to a school, also called A school, but it is a lot faster than taking the time you would to go to
college. It is very similar to fast track classes they offer at college except you will go to school
for about a month, learning everything you will need to know about your selected job. Once the
recruits graduate from A School it is time for them to deploy to their first duty station and that is
where they begin their career. When the service members reach the end of their contract to the
military it is the members decision on whether or not they will extend that contract and continue
their work for the military, or end their military career and start back

The Passage of Time and Life in The Swimmer, by John Cheever
Having written a multitude of short stories and novels, author, John Cheever, has showcased his
incredible writing abilities multiple times throughout his career. Even as a child, Cheever
outwardly expressed his desire to write. As proven by his longstanding career, Cheever s thirst for
writing remained with him throughout his entire life. In perhaps his most famous piece of work,
The Swimmer, Cheever s impeccable writing ability is showcased brilliantly. Although originally
set out to be a novel, The Swimmer has grown to become a widely recognized and analyzed short
story, one which both readers and literary critics alike admire. By drawing on his personal life and
by using a wide range of writing techniques, Cheever depicts and... Show more content on

It is this structure precisely that gives Cheever s works the power to resonate with a wide range of
individuals. Author of John Cheever s Flowering Forth: The Breakthroughs of 1947, James O Hara,
discusses this aspect of Cheever s writing in his academic journal:
He had continued to experiment with the choice of materials for his stories, and had gradually won
over editors with a combination of solid structural technique he had always known how to put a
story together and Hemingwayesque understatement. (51)
Although O Hara did not specifically address the short story The Swimmer in this particular
excerpt, this quotation is nonetheless viable and true in its claims.
Along with a solid structure, in order for a piece of fiction to resonate with readers, the work also
has to have meaningful characters. Cheever has proven to excel in this aspect of writing as well.
This excellence can also be attributed to Cheever and his personal life. Bloom writes: Just like
his characters, then, Cheever was not a perfect man, yet he was a decent one, who believed in
heroism and sentiment and family and a minor man s capacity to glory. Neddy Merrill, the main
character in The Swimmer, can be described in a similar manner, for he too is an imperfect man
who seeks glory and purpose. In the same vein, literary analyst, Robert A. Morace, states: The
characters in this and other Cheever fictions all face the same

Caesar Rodney, the first of the delegation from Delaware, was a native of that state, and was born
about the year 1730. His birth place was Dover. The family, from which he was descended, was
of ancient date, and is honorably spoken of in the history of early times. We read of Sir Walter
De Rodeney, of Sir George De Rodeney, and Sir Henry De Rodeney, with several others of the
same name, even earlier than the year 1234. Sir Richard De Rodeney accompanied the gallant
Richard Coeur de Lion in his crusade to the Holy Land, where he fell, while fighting at the siege of

The Importance Of Rain In New Mexico
I saw a difference in all 4 states, maybe subtle differences but New Mexico was flatter, less rocky.
Rain caught us in New Mexico, huge water drops fell on the windows, I was almost afraid it
would break the glass. I was entranced by the view out my passenger side window. Big gray
clouds hung over us, they were so low I could see the water vapor. For some reason, this
interested me so much. Had they ever seen been that low in Las Vegas? It was cloudy the rest of
the way. We stopped at a rest stop where we overlooked the road and I could see in the distance
the town of Las Cruces. I stood there for a second and just thought about what was to come. There

self regulation integrated into a business model. In some models, a firm s implementation of CSR
goes beyond compliance and engages in actions that appear to further some social good, beyond the
interests of the firm and that which is required by law. (McWilliams Siegel, 2001) CSR refers to the

Friedel-Crafts Acylation Lab Report
The Friedel Crafts acylation reaction is an important and valuable electrophilic aromatic substitution
reaction. First introduced in 1912 by Charles Friedel and James M. Crafts, this reaction allows large
multi step reactions to take place, and creates numerous types of products.1 Today, Friedel Crafts
reactions are among the most used electrophilic aromatic substitution reactions. In the electrophilic
aromatic substitution class of reactions, functional groupsare substituted onto an aromatic ring.2
Products such as ketones, hydrocarbons and phenols, phenol ethers, and keto acids can be produced
by electrophilic aromatic substitution.1 These products can then undergo other reactions, allowing
for the creation of many types of products. The products acquired can be used for a range of
purposes, such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dyes, etcetera.3 In particular, Friedel Crafts acylation
reactions result in a product containing a ketone.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The functional group added during a Friedel Crafts acylation reaction, deactivates the ring, resulting
in a mono substituted ring rather that a poly substituted ring, which is produced from a Friedel
Crafts alkylation reaction.4 The mono substituted product is then further reduced to get an alkyl
substituted ring instead of yielding a product containing a ketone. To obtain the ketone product, an
acyl group is added to an aromatic ring. However, for this reaction to take place, no electron
withdrawing groups can be present on the aromatic ring, and an acyl halide must be used to obtain
the acyl cation.5 These limitations are met, in the Friedel Crafts acylation reaction of anisole with

She sees Clay, who was the only person on the subway at the time, looking at her through the
window. She takes that as a seductive invitation and boards the subway. She approaches him and is
very forward with him as they converse and eat apples. During their conversation, Lula attempts to
be alluring, mysterious, and at times, standoffish.
After becoming more acquainted with one another, Clay realizes other passengers have boarded.
He becomes uncomfortable and less intimate with Lula. Eventually, Lula s actions become more
peculiar to Clay. She begins offending and embarrassing him. He chases her around the subway
train, then snaps, yelling and cursing. As he takes his leave, Lula stabs him and several male
passengers carry his corpse away.
Since Dutchman was written in 1963, the play was heavily influenced by the Civil Rights
Movement and racism is a reoccurring theme. Baraka lived with a white woman in a
predominately Caucasian community, and he d felt as though he was not being true to himself.
That was where he got the inspiration for Clay s character. It is often pointed out in the film by
Lula that Clay is acting like a white man and is pretensions for that. She sees him as a stereotype,
constantly commenting I know the type (Dutchman). I assume she doesn t actually knows the type,
but instead she know the stereotypes associated with African American male. Through this
knowledge, she is able guess certain details of Clay s life. She constantly

Horizontal Debris Problem
Few months after the Cosmos 954 reentry, Skylab reentered over the Atlantic Ocean. As Skylab
fell, worldwide concern grew. The chances that pieces of Skylab would hit a person or cause
property damage were extremely small. However, the Cosmos 954 and Skylab reentries increased
awareness that orbiting objects could pose hazards. It propelled the orbital debris research and

The framers of the U.N. sponsored space treaties of 1967 and 1972 were not aware of the hazards
to space operations of orbital debris. Nevertheless, space law experts generally agree that, in the
Absence of international treaties dedicated to regulating orbital debris, these international

unit. The children s closest friendship often come from within their own families. It is also a social
norm where the Father is in charge of making decisions for their home. It is also common that one
child remains at home with the parents and grandparents to take care of them. This child, given the
fact that he is at home with his or her family, is not necessarily living with a spouse. For in the
Filipino setting, even the extended family may stay at home with their grandparents. Some
grandchildren may be given to their grandparents at times to raise. And indigent family members

Construction Sequence for a Typical Project
Work Events Make Construction Sequence A Typical Project
Construction Sequence for Typical Project Management of construction projects needs skills and
knowledge in modern management and comprehension of construction and design process. In
construction projects, the relevant technology processes, and arrangements differ, but common
sequence of events apply. Construction projects generally require a specification of the project plans
and objectives that entail budgeting, scope, setting of performance requirements, scheduling, and
project participants (Rojas, 2009). It also requires project management specifics like the resource
utilization by procurement of materials, labor, and equipment to project plan and schedule. In
addition, it leads to implementation of several operations by effective control, estimation, design,
construction, and contracting (Mincks Johnston, 2010). The sequence of events occurring in the
construction phase is categorized into three broad areas including foundation, structural, and
finishes sequence. In construction projects, the sequence of construction entail the determination of
building sequence, subdivision of floor plan, determination of floor sequence, and determination of
work rate. Fundamental principles in lean construction create a sequence that includes the stop line

she was merely eighteen years old that would change her life forever. The accident occurred
when a trolley crashed in to the small wooden bus she was riding in. The accident which nearly
killed her, left Kahlo partially invalid which including three broken places to her spinal column,
a broken collarbone, two broken ribs, three broken places to her pelvis, eleven fractures in her
right leg, a crushed and dislocated right foot, and a dislocated shoulder. A steal rod also impaled
her in the uterus exiting through her vagina leaving her unable to bear children. Due to this
event Kahlo stated, I lost my virginity (Herrera, 49). Herrera explains that many of Kahlo s
supporters view her tragic accident as if it were Kahlo s destiny. Kahlo was destined to endure a
long life of pain and anguish in order to create the unusual, morbidly unique works of art. Kahlo
was compelled to wear a full cast that cover a third of her body; wrapping from her chest down
to her feet. Her painting started on her body cast which began her journey through the world of
art. She abandoned her studies of medicine because of her immobilization and gave up her

The Physics Of Quantum Mechanics
Quantum Mechanics is a branch of physics that explains the really small things. These really small
things, such as electrons are studied in an attempt to find out how they behave under certain
conditions. Findings from the studies are then used to explain how the small particles make up and
relate to the bigger parts of the world. Without the discovery of quantum mechanics, the behavior of
small things and how they make up everything would be unknown. Plank sparked the discovered
Quantum mechanics when doing an experiment using heat and lightto produce ultra violet
radiation. What Plank discovered is that light was not constant and could actually be considered
particles. Planks discovery brought about the question of whether small things act like a particle
or a wave. This question was tested in the double slit experiment. It was discovered that electrons
act as a wave and act as a particle. Plank applied his ideas and developed an equation that is used
to describe light as a quanta and not a continuous wave. Plank s equation contained a number today
known as Plank s constant, which is used in many equations involving wavelengths. Quantum
mechanics deals with two principles. The uncertainty principle explains that as an electrons
position is more precise the less accurate speed can be calculated and the more precise speed is
known the less precise the location. The second principle is the correspondence principle and this
states that when the classical theory is

The Road Not Taken By David Orr Analysis
The existence of poetry as an artform predates literacy itself. Over the course of history, poetry
grew from a verbal form of art, existing mainly in religious hymns, to becoming the universal
language of the heart . The work of William Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe, some of the most
notable poets of history, has resonated with generations of Americans. Although they lived in a
Pre industrial world, their work remains powerful because the themes expressed in their artwork
can still be applied to modern society. On the contrary, protruding among this group of ancient
poets is Robert Frost, whose modern work remains just as powerful, shaping generations through
his questions of existence, and depiction of loneliness in an indifferent universe. One of Frost s
most celebrated poems: The Road Not Taken, is influential not only in the literary world, but also
within American culture. The poems subsequent ripple through American life is analyzed by
David Orr In his essay The Most Misread Poem in America. Here, Orr argues that the misread of
The Road Not Taken magnifies the underlying issues in society s understanding of both Frost and
poetryas a whole.
In any educational field, there is an inherent gap in knowledge between those trained, and the

Iron-Sulfur World Hypothesis Essay
There are many hypotheses about the formation of a primitive terrestrial environment. These
hypotheses explain the origin of biomolecules including amino acids, purines, sugars, and many
more. These hypotheses verify the creation of molecules through these various processes.
The Iron Sulfur world hypothesis proposes the idea that Chemoautotrophic organisms were the first
creations on earth and that they get their energy from the oxidative formation of pyrite.
Chemotrophs are organisms that obtain energy by the oxidation of electron donors in their
environments. Gunter Wachtershauser is the german scientist who came up with this idea, received
on October 30, 1989. Gunter suggested that the organism must be an intermediate of carbon,
meaning that it is formed by one reaction and taking part in another, involving carbon. The
organism must also be able to acquire electrons and have an irreversible metabolism.

Analysis Of The Poem The Wife Of King Midas
Mrs Midas Critical Commentary
The poem, Mrs Midas is written from the perspective of the wife of King Midas; a character
from Ovid s Metamorphoses . In the myth, King Midas was granted a wish where everything he
touched turned to gold. Mrs Midas is part of a tradition of the feminist revisionist writing of
mythology and fair tales. Duffy trivialises the myth by transplanting it to a modern, middle class,
suburban setting. In the poem, Duffy uses a wide range of literary devices and conveys a large
array of emotions which help to bring out the central themes of the poem.
In stanza one Duffy depicts a conventional, middle class domestic setting; where the speaker, Mrs
Midas is cooking vegetables and begins to unwind with a glass of wine . The quote, glass of wine
emphasises the middle class, suburban setting and highlights revisionist element of the poem. Duffy
writes stanzas one retrospectively, It was late September . Duffy uses this quote to set the scene but
more importantly to indicate the fact that the event has already happened. This conveys the idea
that the poem is being told as a story. In stanza one Duffy personifies the kitchen, with the line, its
steamy breath gently blanching the windows . The quote emphasises that the kitchen is coming to
life. Also the use of the simile, like a brow helps to convey the kitchen as a living thing. The word
gently is used by Duffy to contrast the frenzied events which unfold later on in the poem.

  • 7. Relationships Between Friendliness And Hostility And... Abstract In this study, we looked at the relationships between friendliness and hostility and agreeableness in college students. We hypothesized that students who were high in friendliness would also be high in agreeableness, while being low in hostility. We expected a strong correlation with agreeableness, and a slightly strong correlation with hostility. However, when looking at all three traits we found that agreeableness, while being the big umbrella it is, might not fully account for traits underneath it. As well as friendliness and hostility having a stronger negative correlation than we anticipated. Keywords: Friendliness, Hostility, Agreeableness, Personality Friendliness in College age Students In this study we aimed to look at the personality trait of friendliness. Friendliness can be defined as the good nature, amiability of one s personality. In other words: how agreeable and outgoing one is towards others. Friendliness has been found to be more prevalent in females than males (Moskowitz, 1993), and has been found to be generalized across situations. In this research we want to look at college students to see if there is any significance between friendliness and aggressiveness. To do this we have created our own friendliness scale and compared it to the Iowa State Hostility Scale (Dill, Anderson, Anderson, Deuser, 1997) and the agreeableness items from the Ten Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) (Gosling, Augustine, Vazire, Holtzman, Gaddis, 2011). ... Currently, Nunnavut Puffin is more well known for the functionality of the jackets, rather than for our values as luxury goods. Human Resources And Human Resource Practices Regardless of the size of a business or whether it is a multi million dollar software distributor or a productive trucking company, there is one thing that most all companies have in common. Every company needs to have efficient human resource practices. According to Mayhew (n.d.), human resources plays an essential role in developing a company s strategy as well as handling the employee centered activities of an organization (para. 1). If the employees are the backbone of an organization then the human resource department is the brain stem. It can be the glue that holds an organization together, or the hammer that breaks the organization apart. There are many issues that companies face when dealing with human resources. Things such as payroll disputes and disgruntled employees are fairly common, but for the most part they are easy to overcome. Along with a solid structure, in order for a piece of fiction to resonate with readers, the work also has to have meaningful characters. Cheever has proven to excel in this aspect of writing as well. This excellence can also be attributed to Cheever and his personal life. Bloom writes: Just like his characters, then, Cheever was not a perfect man, yet he was a decent one, who believed in heroism and sentiment and family and a minor man s capacity to glory. Neddy Merrill, the main character in The Swimmer, can be described in a similar manner, for he too is an imperfect man who seeks glory and purpose. In the same vein, literary analyst, Robert A. Morace, states: The characters in this and other Cheever fictions all face the same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The family, from which he was descended, was of ancient date, and is honorably spoken of in the history of early times. We read of Sir Walter De Rodeney, of Sir George De Rodeney, and Sir Henry De Rodeney, with several others of the same name, even earlier than the year 1234. Sir Richard De Rodeney accompanied the gallant Richard Coeur de Lion in his crusade to the Holy Land, where he fell, while fighting at the siege of Acre. Mr. Rodney inherited from his father a large landed estate, which was entailed upon him, according to the usages of distinguished families at that day. At the early age of twenty eight years, such was his popularity, he was appointed high sheriff in the county in which he resided, and on the expiration of his term of service, he was created a justice of the peace, and a judge of the lower courts. Rain caught us in New Mexico, huge water drops fell on the windows, I was almost afraid it would break the glass. I was entranced by the view out my passenger side window. Big gray clouds hung over us, they were so low I could see the water vapor. For some reason, this interested me so much. Had they ever seen been that low in Las Vegas? It was cloudy the rest of the way. We stopped at a rest stop where we overlooked the road and I could see in the distance the town of Las Cruces. First introduced in 1912 by Charles Friedel and James M. Crafts, this reaction allows large multi step reactions to take place, and creates numerous types of products.1 Today, Friedel Crafts reactions are among the most used electrophilic aromatic substitution reactions. In the electrophilic aromatic substitution class of reactions, functional groupsare substituted onto an aromatic ring.2 Products such as ketones, hydrocarbons and phenols, phenol ethers, and keto acids can be produced by electrophilic aromatic substitution.1 These products can then undergo other reactions, allowing for the creation of many types of products. The products acquired can be used for a range of purposes, such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dyes, etcetera.3 In particular, Friedel Crafts acylation reactions result in a product containing a ketone.... To obtain the ketone product, an acyl group is added to an aromatic ring. The chances that pieces of Skylab would hit a person or cause property damage were extremely small. However, the Cosmos 954 and Skylab reentries increased awareness that orbiting objects could pose hazards. It propelled the orbital debris research and awareness program. The framers of the U.N. sponsored space treaties of 1967 and 1972 were not aware of the hazards to space operations of orbital debris. Nevertheless, space law experts generally agree that, in the Absence of international treaties dedicated to regulating orbital debris, these international agreements remain the most pertinent to the orbital debris problem. • 36. The Physics Of Quantum Mechanics Quantum Mechanics is a branch of physics that explains the really small things. These really small things, such as electrons are studied in an attempt to find out how they behave under certain conditions. Findings from the studies are then used to explain how the small particles make up and relate to the bigger parts of the world. Without the discovery of quantum mechanics, the behavior of small things and how they make up everything would be unknown. Plank sparked the discovered Quantum mechanics when doing an experiment using heat and lightto produce ultra violet radiation. What Plank discovered is that light was not constant and could actually be considered particles. Planks discovery brought about the question of whether small things act like a particle or a wave. This question was tested in the double slit experiment. It was discovered that electrons act as a wave and act as a particle. Plank applied his ideas and developed an equation that is used to describe light as a quanta and not a continuous wave. Plank s equation contained a number today known as Plank s constant, which is used in many equations involving wavelengths. Quantum mechanics deals with two principles. The uncertainty principle explains that as an electrons position is more precise the less accurate speed can be calculated and the more precise speed is known the less precise the location. The second principle is the correspondence principle and this states that when the classical theory is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Road Not Taken By David Orr Analysis The existence of poetry as an artform predates literacy itself. Over the course of history, poetry grew from a verbal form of art, existing mainly in religious hymns, to becoming the universal language of the heart . The work of William Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe, some of the most notable poets of history, has resonated with generations of Americans. Although they lived in a Pre industrial world, their work remains powerful because the themes expressed in their artwork can still be applied to modern society. On the contrary, protruding among this group of ancient poets is Robert Frost, whose modern work remains just as powerful, shaping generations through his questions of existence, and depiction of loneliness in an indifferent universe. One of Frost s most celebrated poems: The Road Not Taken, is influential not only in the literary world, but also within American culture. The poems subsequent ripple through American life is analyzed by David Orr In his essay The Most Misread Poem in America. Here, Orr argues that the misread of The Road Not Taken magnifies the underlying issues in society s understanding of both Frost and poetryas a whole. In any educational field, there is an inherent gap in knowledge between those trained, and the common citizen. Orr uses an analysis of the misread of The Road Not Taken to expose this subsequent ample gap in poetic understanding between poetry educatprs and the rest of American society, when he states: The first audience is ... These hypotheses explain the origin of biomolecules including amino acids, purines, sugars, and many more. These hypotheses verify the creation of molecules through these various processes. The Iron Sulfur world hypothesis proposes the idea that Chemoautotrophic organisms were the first creations on earth and that they get their energy from the oxidative formation of pyrite. Chemotrophs are organisms that obtain energy by the oxidation of electron donors in their environments. Gunter Wachtershauser is the german scientist who came up with this idea, received on October 30, 1989. Gunter suggested that the organism must be an intermediate of carbon, meaning that it is formed by one reaction and taking part in another, involving carbon. The organism must also be able to acquire electrons and have an irreversible metabolism. • 41. Analysis Of The Poem The Wife Of King Midas Mrs Midas Critical Commentary The poem, Mrs Midas is written from the perspective of the wife of King Midas; a character from Ovid s Metamorphoses . In the myth, King Midas was granted a wish where everything he touched turned to gold. Mrs Midas is part of a tradition of the feminist revisionist writing of mythology and fair tales. Duffy trivialises the myth by transplanting it to a modern, middle class, suburban setting. In the poem, Duffy uses a wide range of literary devices and conveys a large array of emotions which help to bring out the central themes of the poem. In stanza one Duffy depicts a conventional, middle class domestic setting; where the speaker, Mrs Midas is cooking vegetables and begins to unwind with a glass of wine . The quote, glass of wine emphasises the middle class, suburban setting and highlights revisionist element of the poem. Duffy writes stanzas one retrospectively, It was late September . Duffy uses this quote to set the scene but more importantly to indicate the fact that the event has already happened. This conveys the idea that the poem is being told as a story. In stanza one Duffy personifies the kitchen, with the line, its steamy breath gently blanching the windows . The quote emphasises that the kitchen is coming to life. Also the use of the simile, like a brow helps to convey the kitchen as a living thing. The word gently is used by Duffy to contrast the frenzied events which unfold later on in the poem.
