Realistic Vs Romantic Love In A Midsummer Night’S Dream.
Realistic vs Romantic Love in A Midsummer Night s Dream William Shakespeare s writing has stayed
very applicable through the years. It was applicable to the times when he wrote his works and is
applicable today in similar and different ways. A key theme throughout Shakespeare s work is love,
one of the most fundamental human experiences and emotions. Throughout A Midsummer Night s
Dream, the theme of love is built up and dissected. The characters are passionate about love from the
beginning. The main conflict originates from love itself. Shakespeare builds up the idea of love and
then begins to challenge our interpretation of love. He focuses on juxtaposing the romantic idea of
love with the more realist nature of love. This comparison of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, when thinking about the period that the play was written and even more where it was set
love seems to fade into actuality of the situation. Fathers could determine who their daughters ended
up with. The fact that a couple would run away to an area that laws did not apply in just to get married
was just something that people would have thought about not actually done. The fact that Shakespeare
would even put it on written page and have it performed shows that he at least thought that love is at
least a partially romantic ideal. It is later in the play that he begins to question that with how the
characters end up that eventually creates his full interpretation of love as an ideal. Throughout the play
Shakespeare makes cynical comments about love and the feeling that people express towards one
another. This is also meant to contrast with the romantic view of love. Lord, what fools these mortals
be! (3.2.115) Robin explains as he questions the actions of the esteemed and troubled couples. In the
play this is the point where Oberon is using the love potion to get certain couples to fall in love with
one another. This act impedes the natural progression of love. This intervention is used by
Shakespeare to focus on the infallibility and cynicism of love. Oberon is not using this potion for love
s sake. It is for his own personal agenda and amusement. Being able to alter and fiddle with love in
this matter reveals the cynicism of love:

The Consequences Of Emotions
Just like mortals, Gods feels emotions as well but they usually do not express them as much as mortals
do. They can feel anger, sadness, fear, happiness and love. However they do not express their
emotions, for it is seen as a weakness. Many Gods say that is is complicated, and they never want to
answer the questions of the younger gods. This lead to many of the younger ones misunderstanding
why they see emotions as a weakness. They did not know that these emotions may have horrible
consequences. For example, the young moon goddess Amaris made a terrible mistake when she
showed emotions for a beast. Divyesh, the god of the sun, cared deeply for his younger sister. He
worried that one day her emotions would lead to her death. He would ... Show more content on

Eventually they began to grow feeling for each other, bringing gifts to show their affection. Some of
the gifts would be them teaching each other things they knew. Others were things like flowers and
gold. Their love was a secret of course, for it was shunned upon to fall in love with someone not of
your species. One day, the young goddess fell ill, which shocked many of the gods. Divyesh wanted to
help his sister, but she wouldn t allow him near her. She became secretive and would never be around
other gods, even her own brother. This worried Divyesh even more, for he couldn t lose his only sister.
He went to check on his sister, but found that she was nowhere to be seen. He searched for her on the
mountain. He heard voices, one recognizable and the other, unfamiliar. He went to investigate, but
what he found angered him greatly, for his sister was not actually sick, she was pregnant with the child
of Isolde. In his fit of anger, he summoned his sword, which was engulfed in flame. He then attacked
Isolde, leaving his sister alone in great pain and to give birth alone. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO
MY SISTER? Divyesh exclaimed as he swung his sword at Isolde, who backed away. As Divyesh
went for another hit, it was quickly stopped by the hand of Isolde. Divyesh looked up to see that Isolde
was now a huge creature that towered the trees. It had a mouth that looked like a mouth of a whale. I
meant no harm... Isolde

Personal Statement For Motivation In Finance
Personal Statement My decision to apply for Master of Finance at XX University, evolved from a

Goals and Benefits
A survey of 500 cell phone users from a public relations firm Ranier Pr found that 74 percent of
respondents said they were interested in receiving short range messages via such technology as SMS,
MMS and Bluetooth (Mathieson, 2005, p. 189). Therefore, Omni has research the best methods to
meet their goals for the marketing campaign and the cost involved, which should not exceed a
$150,000 dollar first investment. Our goal is to use an angle investors equity capital and distribute it
across multiple campaign channels including SEO Optimization, Pay per click, Promotion Pr and
Digital Advertising and lastly mobile. Expanding global customers in Japan and the UK up to 5000
and transposing those customers into sales up to 25% of the initial investment plus a 15% profit on all
start up capital (Strategic Growth.com, 2009).
Since marketing to existing customers with any organization can be costly and many customer
interests keep changing it makes positive results from the campaign difficult to produce. The benefits
of our successful mobile campaign in the current entertainment environment allow a strategic business

What Happens When The Reward Outweigh The Hefty Cost
I. Attention Getter: Have you ever wondered why you decided to keep a job after your boss does
something ruthless or why you would do something you did not want to do in order to keep your
relationship healthy? The scenarios Pam Halpert, Jim Halpert s wife, and Oscar Martinez, the
homosexual accountant, face in the TV show The Office, shows what happens when the reward
outweighs the hefty cost. II. Thesis: Through arrogance and sacrifice, social exchange theory occurs in
business relationships, and personal relationships throughout the film.
Preview: In this presentation, I will define social exchange theory and its role in relationships. I will
then apply this theory to those relationships in the TV show The Office. Finally, I will state why it is
the most important theory when deciding whether or not to pursue or terminate a relationship.
(Transition: Let s first look at the theory and its role in relationships.)
Body
I. According to the about education website, Crossman states social exchange theory is a model for
interpreting society as a series of interactions between people that are based on estimates of rewards
and punishments. Rewards come in many forms: money, gifts, hugs, romance, social recognition and
so on. Cost or punishments also come in many forms: humiliation, beating, crying, sacrifice, etc.

Positive Behavior Strategies For Children And Junior Schools
The Chapter 12 article focuses on positive behavior strategies to eliminate bullying through activities
for infants and junior schools. Creating a safe classroom environment will allow teachers to instruct
their students in an efficient and effective manner. Unfortunately, bullying is predominant in schools
where the different forms of aggression are learned. When bullying occurs, developing strategies are
essential to address the issues. When smart and stupid behavior is analyzed, it s important to use the
proper vocabulary to avoid any misunderstandings where certain words can be mistakenly taken out of
context. When educators speak to children, it s vital to use the proper terminology without belittling
the student. Additionally, when children are labeled negatively, they may lack confidence which can
be damaging psychologically. Furthermore, depending on the action, students can bring fresh ideas on
suggesting penalties and privileges to prevent bullying. Moreover, influence is a major factor when
peer groups can affect other students to change their behavior.
Even though acceptance and approval is not dependent on academic achievement, pupils with learning
difficulties earn praise for themselves and privileges for their classmates. When pupils earn privileges
for their classmate, they can influence other students to behave in a positive manner. Some of the
smart behaviors the students listed are helping others with their work, remembering to say please and
thank you,

The Ku Klux Klan (KK)
The Ku Klux Klan( K.K.K.) is a domestic terrorist organization established during the Reconstruction
era. Slavery was no longer a legal business during this time period but freedom was hardly available
to millions of newly freed blacks. The membership of the hate group was dominated by lawmakers,
more specifically republicans from Pulaski, Tennessee. White men and women dressed in white robes
and cone shaped masks and often rallied at night to terrorize black communities. The mindsets of Klan
members were centered on black and white no metaphor. They felt that the white race was superior
and blacks were inferior. In the southern states black people were being murdered and terrorized by
the thousands and because the Klan had direct influences with the local police forces, judges, and
medical professionals, there was no justice for black victims.
The American government has a greater concern with combatting foreign terrorism than it does with
combatting domestic terrorist groups such as the KKK. Osama Bin Laden was a Saudi Arabian
Muslim extremist, who orchestrated multiple well planned attacks against America on September 11,
2001. The 9/11 attack was one event that captured the entire nation but, the KKK has ... Show more

Abstract Art, Character Design, And Pencil Tests
For my case study the three pieces of artwork that I ll be talking about revolve around animation, as
that is my field of study. The artwork I chose will range from concept art, character design, and pencil
tests. First let s take a look at Hayao Miyazaki s concept art for one of his movies known as Spirited
Away, which was released in the United States in 2002. The movie appears to be satire, but that isn t
my purpose. I have five young female friends who are about the same age as Hiiragi san*, and I spend
every summer with them at my mountain cabin. I wanted to make a movie they could enjoy. That is
why I started this film, and that is my true purpose (Shoten). Those were the words of Miyazaki,
translated by Ryoko Toyama, showing that this image and the movie s purpose in general was to
provide entertainment. The intended audience for all Studio Ghibli films is family, and especially
children. Miyazaki s goal from his art is to make movies that everyone can enjoy, as stated above.
Getting back to this specific image, it is most likely a mixed media of watercolor, acrylic paint, and
probably edited with a computer, as it is a final background that was used in the movie. Immediately
you can see balance within this piece. While both sides are not exactly symmetrical it gives off that
implication by having both sides very similar if you were to split the image down the middle,
especially the train that almost appears that way on it s own. It also has a nice sense of

John Cage s Theory Of Silence And Chance Operations
During the twentieth century, one composer in particular, John Cage, challenged the idea of music,
sound, and art. Because of a distinct style and the utilization of innovative mechanisms, Cage proved
to be one of the world s most original composers. He took music into a new direction creating sounds
and works that have never been performed before. Through his philosophy of silence and chance
operations, John Cage distinguished the difference between sound and music; sounds possess the
ability to stand independently while the creation of music depends on sounds and their particular
arrangement. On September 5, 1912, in Los Angeles, California, John Cage was born. From the start,
environments of constant innovation, improvisation, and exploration had surrounded Cage, as his
father was an inventor (Kozinn John Cage ). Growing up, he studied and learned how to play the
piano. At the age of twelve, he had created his own weekly radio show in which he would feature his
own performances (Kozinn John Cage ). After graduating from Los Angeles High School, Cage began
to study at Pomona College. Shortly after, he discontinued his education at the institution, and saw the
education he received as a lack of original thinking ( Music Is Everywhere: John Cage At 100 ). This
action first introduces how Cage lived life by his own rules, and foreshadows how he would
eventually bend the rules and traditions of music. In 1931, Cage began to study composition while

Student At Depaul University For Three Years Now
Reflective Essay I have been a student at DePaul University for three years now. Over the course of
my stay I have grown and learned how to write essays as Biology major. This class pointed out to me
the things that science majors tend to neglect when they write their essays and lab reports; for
example, punctuation, and citation. This is something I ve gotten better at, but still improving. Most
importantly, I ve learned how to analyze a text. The scientific essays I am used to reading, rarely do I
have to read between the lines. It was hard but quite interesting to go read an essay and having to
break it down from the argument, to the tools used and the author s opinion even when not directly
stated. Throughout the course, I ve also learned how helpful it is to share your work with classmates. I
used to think only the professor had the beneficial feedback and would never bother asking people
from my class. However, I ve learned that they have a fresh perspective and could help. For example,
when I presented my research paper, I wasn t expecting any feedback that would be that helpful,
simply because I assumed the class wasn t familiar with my topic. However, I was surprised that not
only were some familiar, but they had questions about my topic, and when I responded to them I
automatically realized that unintentionally, they had just given me another argument to write about,
and my response was the counter argument. That is what happened when a girl asked me why

The Trouble With Idol Meat 1 Corinthian Analysis
Paul instructs the Corinthians in several aspects and teaches them how to live their lives as Christians.
The Corinthian church has several serious problems that they either ignore or simply think their sin is
ok. Paul holds them accountable in all that they are doing and reprimands them. He illustrates that he
will either come to them with a gentle spirit or the rod of discipline. One of the topics discussed is idol
meat. But what s especially interesting is that the Corinthians brought it up first rather than Paul. The
Corinthians thought it was a serious issue and were genuinely troubled by what the right course of
action was. The article I chose to discuss is The Trouble with Idol Meat: 1 Corinthians 8:1 13, by
Mike Graves. This article ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hermeneutical move can be described as a direct bridge connecting two different time periods. It s
one single move that makes the connection between ancient text and 2017. This is actually a very
daunting task to accomplish for leaders in the church when they are doing so many different activities
throughout the week that is also expected of them. If you are going to bridge the gap between ancient
text and today with an honest effort Graves brings up the point that it might be better not to achieve
the gap all at once. That is a lot of information to handle right away, and if you want to understand all
the details it might be better to take one little step at a time. Nancy Lammers suggests that preachers
are more like gymnasts on a high bar, swinging back and forth between text and today throughout the
week. The preacher studies the ancient text, all the while mindful of what is going on in the
community and the larger world, all the while engaging in ancient text; back and forth our thoughts
race throughout the week. (Graves, pg 644) It might be better to fully understand the text if you study
it in smaller increments and relate it to today also in smaller increments. Graves is effective in
illustrating this point by arguing with common sense. Studying scripture in smaller sections and
relating that to our world might be more effective than trying to do it all at

Discussion of the Settings in the Great Gatsby by F. Scott...
A Discussion of the Three Major Setting in The Great Gatsby
Setting is an integral part of a novelist s or playwright s ability to communicate characters ideals and
attitudes. One of the greatest American authors, Francis Scott Fitzgerald also employs these essential
strategies when describing the three main setting of The Great Gatsby: West Egg, East Egg, and the
Valley of the Ashes. Fitzgerald relates West Egg with the less fashionable side of Long Island and new
money , relates East Egg to the fashionable side of Long Island and old money , and relates the Valley
of Ashes to a desolate wasteland that represents the crumbling of the American Dream and the
destruction caused by modern society. West Egg promotes ideals of individuality and illegality and
creates an atmosphere of lavish spending; however, East Egg gives rise to ideals of upper class society
fueling attitudes of condescension towards lower classes of people including West Egg, while the
Valley of Ashes is the manifestation of the desolate wasteland surrounding a city that represents the
withering of the American Dream.
In The Great Gatsby, the first setting we are introduced to is West Egg. West Egg is described in the
book as a place where the lower and middle class who have found themselves outrageous amounts of
money reside. As an immediate consequence to this, they spend lavishly on extravagant desires of
theirs. This is exemplified when Fitzgerald writes, From West Egg came the Poles and the

Color In The Great Gatsby
The Colors of Life The helpful acronym ROY G. BIV is used to aid in the remembering the order that
the colors appear in the rainbow. Colors are everywhere: the flowers that grow along the sidewalk, the
shirts that we wear, the cars on the road, and the environment around us. Colors even have the ability
to relay information to us, for example, whether it will rain or not based on the color of the sky and
clouds, no to touch a snake if certain colors touch, or even is someone is angry based on the color of
their face. Colors are a main focus point in The Great Gatsby, written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and are
used to express emotions and events of specific characters. A small but very important color in The
Great Gatsby is the color green.

Religion and Morality
RELIGION AND MORALITY
(i)Examine the views of scholars concerning the idea that religion and morality are linked. In this
essay I am going to be looking at all the different view points on why some people may think religion
and morality are linked. I will talk about a few things that link them such as conscience, divine
command ethics, Kant s view and Aquinas view. Many people believe that morality is based upon
religion and the rules written in the Bible and other holy books, although some say that religion is
completely opposed to morality and it is wrong to mix the two.
Some scholars believe there are three views on the relationship between religion and morality, one of
them being that morality depends on religion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moral opinions are judged against religious teachings.
Even secular society adopts or is influenced by religious moral teachings, for example, it seeks
guidance from religious leaders in moral matters such as genetic engineering/abortion.
In conclusion the strongest view to me is Social Conditioning, in which morality is independent of
religion. I believe that peoples morality comes from the environment that they are brought up in, and
the people around them such as parents and teachers. From a very young age we are taught what is
right and wrong, and grow up respecting the law and people around us more than God.
(ii)Comment on the view that religion and morality are not linked. Euthyphro s Dilemma was that the
problem of whether something is good because God commands it, or does God command that which
is good. Do that God s love that which is holy, or is it holy because it is loved by the God s Plato.
Almost all Christians will say something is good because God says so, his commands must be obeyed.
A Christian s dilemma is that either good is a whim or good is something that dictates to God. So if a
Christian interprets that it is God s will to murder, they think they are justified because it is God s
choice.
A.C Grayling believes that religious morality is irrelevant to modern society because what people
value has changed. He thinks that modern morality includes a great concern for human rights, animal

Overhauser Effect Essay
Dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) through Overhauser effect has several applications including
Overhauser enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (OMRI) and considerable interest in the field of
biomedical imaging [1 8]. Recent experiments on common free radicals are often used such as family
of nitroxide free radicals, and several studies have done to determine which derivatives give the best
signal enhancement [7 11]. For low frequency in vivo electron spin resonance imaging (ESRI) and as
contrast agents for OMRI, nitroxyl radicals have been used as spin probes [4,12], and successfully
obtained images of tissue water protons in the vicinity of paramagnetic radicals and achieved in vivo
imaging [13].Recently, isotropically labeling nitroxyl spin probes used to investigate redox sensitive
molecular probes for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In ESRI, both spatial and the spectral information of the exogenously administered spin probes are
obtained. Hence, ESRI often presents the in vivo of the spin probes without complementary
anatomical information. In contrast, Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) gives superior anatomic
information. OMRI is a double resonance technique that depends on the Overhauser effect. It coupled
the advantages of MRI with the sensitivity of ESR, by making use of the Overhauser effect [4,16]. In
this phenomenon, the relatively stronger magnetic moment of the electron is used to transfer of
polarization from unpaired electron spins to the coupled proton spins results in the enhancement of the
NMR signal in regions of the sample containing free radical, revealing its spatial distribution in the
final image. This leads to the possibility of NMR imaging at very low magnetic fields [4,9,12,17 26].
These advantages motivated us to explore, for the first time, the capability of OMRI for simultaneous
molecular imaging of redox reactions using nitroxyl radicals. Nitroxyl radicals have been widely used
as spin

Theodore Roosevelt And The Progressive Era
Upon the arrival of the Progressive Era, America shared several common characteristics of the
industrialized countries: drastically increased population, overcrowded cities, poor working
conditions, and significant economic disparity. Three presidents Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft,
and Woodrow Wilson during the Progressive Era made essential domestic reforms and launched new
foreign policies in order to construct America into a more prosperous country and a leading power
around the globe. A driving force in the Progressive Era, Theodore Roosevelt believed that the
government had the right to regulate big business and that the government should use its resources to
help achieve economic and social justice. In his first term, he launched the Square Deal, which
focused on the control of corporations, the consumer protection, and the conservation of natural
resources. In order to achieve his goal of controlling the large corporations and railroad companies,
Congress, under Roosevelt s urge, created the Department of Commerce and Labor to monitor
corporations, help dissolve monopolies, and promote fair competition between companies. At the
same year, Roosevelt initialized the Elkins Act of 1903 to end the practice of railroad granting
shipping rebates to certain companies, and three years later, Theodore s administration issued the
Hepburn Act, which gave the Interstate Commerce Commission the power to regulate shipping rates
on railroads. The second element in the

Neiman Marcus Business Analysis
I have had a bad shopping experience at Neiman Marcus in Scottsdale, Arizona. I went specifically to
Neiman Marcus to purchase a pair of earrings that are only sold in that store. The product was a high
end pair of earrings; the earrings are high end because they are made by an artist. The reason I wanted
to purchase the earrings was because I had lost a pair that were made by that artist. I made the
purchase in store at Neiman Marcus because I wanted to see the earrings in person before buying a
new pair. This was not an impulse purchase, I had been wanting to replace the lost pair of earrings for
months before the purchase. The experience I had when purchasing these earrings was unsatisfying
due to the salespeople in the store. The

Essay Planned Parenthood Vs. Caey (1992)
Planned Parenthood vs. Casey (1992) In Planned Parenthood vs. Casey, a Supreme Court case which
took place in 1992, five provisions of the Pennsylvania Abortion Control Act of 1982 were being
challenged as unconstitutional under another case, Roe vs. Wade. Roe Vs. Wade was the case that first
recognized a constitutional right to abortion a legal liberty under a clause in the Fourteen Amendment.
The five provisions being challenged were the informed consent rule, the spousal notification
requirement, the parental consent rule, a 24 hour waiting period, and imposition of certain reporting
requirements on abortion facilities. The informed consent rule required that all doctors are to provide
women with information about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two sides of this case were the plaintiffs, who were five abortion clinics and doctors who
provided abortion services, and the defendant, which was the state of Pennsylvania. The plaintiffs
filed suit to have the state declare the five provisions unconstitutional. During the appeal in the Third
Circuit Court, the court upheld all but the husband notification requirement.
Casey is a divided judgement because none of the Justices opinions were joined by a majority of
Justices. However, the plurality decision, which was written by Justices Souter, O Connor, and
Kennedy, is accepted a the lead opinion because each of its parts were agreed with by at least two
other Justices , although different ones for each part. The plurality opinion overturned the strict
trimester formula previously used in Roe vs. Wade which then made it a shorter time period before the
State s interest in the fetus outweighed the woman s interest to abort. The plurality opinion also got rid
of the husband notification requirement, saying that it would worsen situations of spousal abuse
because it would give husbands too much power over their wives.
William Rehnquist, Byron White, Harry Blackmun, John Paul Stevens, Antonin Scalia, and Clarence
Thomas those who were not included in the plurality decision wrote or joined opinions in which they
partially concurred and partially dissented from the decision.

Aging And The Aging Process
Aging, it s something that as a species of life on this planet we are predisposed to and its results are an
inevitable factor that effects our bodies in several ways, from cataracts development to the progression
of memory issues from such diseases as Alzheimer s or Huntington s. The concepts of aging are
broken down into two theories widely accepted by several varying fields of studies such as
gerontology, the study of the aging process, and oncology, the study of cancer and tumor development.
The Cellular theory, which focuses solely on the idea that a species and individual s lifespan and
condition in life is based on genetic and cellular factors that predispose us to a variety of diseases. The
second theory is known as Wear and Tear theory which heavily concentrates on the concepts of
external factors in the aging process. The studies behind this theory focuses on the physical condition
of the body and the environmental circumstances that result in the condition of the body as an
individual is aging. The aging process is a unique aspect of life that attributes to several varieties of
diseases and conditions that affect the lifestyle of the individual both externally and internally.
The concept that is become more appropriate among professional studies within the fields mentioned
prior is a combination of both cellular and physical theories. These studies are becoming more
apparent as the population of 55 to 75 year olds is increasing both nationally across the United

The Wizard Of Oz
Findings Paper Our research topic was on how influential the Wizard of Oz was and how its impact
changed the entertainment and dramatic arts industries. We decided to choose a topic that was
interesting and something that almost everyone would have some knowledge about. In our project we
addressed the characters, music, and the values of the film. The Wizard of Oz is one of the most
influential films in history. It was one of the first movies to be filmed in color and whole production
cost set a record at MGM studio with the movie costing 2.8 million dollars to make. The success of
this film opened so many doors for other movies. Something we also found to be interesting was that
The Wizard of Oz was the first videocassette tape released by MGM and CBS Home Video nearly
forty years after it hit the big screen. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Garland was only sixteen when she played the role, and to this day everyone knows who she is,
mainly because of her astonishing vocals. The ballad that sets the tone of the film, Somewhere Over
the Rainbow, played a significant part in the film. This song was almost cut from production because
the producers thought that it conflicted with the upbeat tempo of the rest of the movie. It foreshadows
the story that is about to take place. All the songs that are sung and the characters in The Wizard of Oz
have a deeper meaning to them. People could relate to the characters.
As years went by there have been many other film adaptations of The Wizard of Oz such as, The
Wonderful Land of Oz, The Wiz, Return to Oz, and Oz the Great and Powerful. There are also many
references to the famous tale today. There was a study at Northwestern University that showed that
there are over five hundred references to it in modern films

Foreign Investment During the Recent Global Economic...
Foreign Investment during the recent global economic recession
ABSTRACT:
The year 2008 marked the end of a growth cycle in international investment that started in 2004 and
saw world foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows reach a historic record of $1.9 trillion in 2007.
Since then FDIs have been decreasing. The fall in global FDI in 2008 2009 is the result of two major
factors affecting domestic as well as international investment. First, the capability of firms to invest
has been reduced by a fall in access to financial resources, both internally due to a decline in corporate
profits and externally due to the lower availability and higher cost of finance. Second, the propensity
to invest has been affected negatively by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The proposed Xstrata takeover of a South African mining conglomerate was put on hold as the
financing was harder due to the credit crunch . There are several other examples e.g. in India .
In the face of the global economic slowdown (and recession in a number of major economies), tighter
credit conditions and falling corporate profits, many companies have announced plans to curtail
production, lay off workers and cut capital expenditure, all of which has implications for FDI
.However, the impact of the crisis varies widely, depending on region and country, with consequences
for the geographic pattern of FDI flows .
The current crisis began in the developed world, though it is rapidly spreading to developing and
transition economies. Developed countries have thus been directly hit by the financial crisis, while its
effects on developing economies have so far been indirect in most cases, with varying degrees of
severity among regions and countries. This has direct consequences on the geographical patterns of
FDI inflows. There is ample evidence that the global crisis is having a negative impact on
international investment. Tighter credit conditions and lower corporate profits have weakened
companies capability to finance their overseas projects; while the global economic recession and a
heightened appreciation of risks have eroded business confidence. Many large TNCs have revised
their global expansion plans downward, and divestments have taken

Essay on Inherit the Wind (Scopes Trial)
The play Inherit the Wind, was written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee to inform its readers
about the injustice of a law that limited the freedom of an ordinary citizen. This play is based upon
actual events that happened to an individual, John Scopes, in Dayton, Tennessee during the 1920 s.
This famous Monkey Trial not only allowed people to begin to accept new theories about the origin of
man, but also showed that they did not have to limit themselves in other areas of life. In the beginning
of the play, the authors try to lead us into the topic of Darwinism versus Creationism. One instance
was when the character Howard actually told Melinda Your old man s a monkey! (5) The audience
also learns that the accused lawbreaker, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This format also allowed the story to be conveyed without any bias to either side. It is in this way that
the authors allow each side of the case to speak their minds freely. In my opinion the theme s purpose
was achieved through the expression of becoming open with new ideas and leaving the play as
unbiased form.
The author s key style as well highlighted humour, as a comic relief. They used it as a tool to decrease
the stress of the characters and the trial itself. For instance when Brady sarcastically says to
Drummond is the defense showing us the latest fashion in the city of Chicago? (40), and Drummond
strikes back with slapping his suspenders down to attract the attention of the court. They want laughter
aroused in the courtroom. Hornbeck himself is in the play to create some cynical humor. Though it is
not exactly a technique, it did capture my attention how the character who did accustom with changes
and was open to all new ideas ended better than he who was faithful yet stubborn with old ideas.
What I didn t like about Inherit the Wind does not show to be a historically accurate depiction of the
Scopes trial. The main source for Lee and Lawrence s information was the actual trial record found in
Dayton, Tennessee, dating back to 1925. They did not use all of the characters or dialogue from the
records, instead they elaborated on the actual people and events, also using reporters stories on the
case. The authors

  • 2. Realistic Vs Romantic Love In A Midsummer Night’S Dream. Realistic vs Romantic Love in A Midsummer Night s Dream William Shakespeare s writing has stayed very applicable through the years. It was applicable to the times when he wrote his works and is applicable today in similar and different ways. A key theme throughout Shakespeare s work is love, one of the most fundamental human experiences and emotions. Throughout A Midsummer Night s Dream, the theme of love is built up and dissected. However, when thinking about the period that the play was written and even more where it was set love seems to fade into actuality of the situation. Fathers could determine who their daughters ended up with. The fact that a couple would run away to an area that laws did not apply in just to get married was just something that people would have thought about not actually done. The fact that Shakespeare would even put it on written page and have it performed shows that he at least thought that love is at least a partially romantic ideal. It is later in the play that he begins to question that with how the characters end up that eventually creates his full interpretation of love as an ideal. Throughout the play Shakespeare makes cynical comments about love and the feeling that people express towards one another. This is also meant to contrast with the romantic view of love. Lord, what fools these mortals be! (3.2.115) Robin explains as he questions the actions of the esteemed and troubled couples. In the play this is the point where Oberon is using the love potion to get certain couples to fall in love with one another. This act impedes the natural progression of love. This intervention is used by Shakespeare to focus on the infallibility and cynicism of love. Oberon is not using this potion for love s sake. It is for his own personal agenda and amusement. Being able to alter and fiddle with love in this matter reveals the cynicism of love: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This lead to many of the younger ones misunderstanding why they see emotions as a weakness. They did not know that these emotions may have horrible consequences. One day, the young goddess fell ill, which shocked many of the gods. Divyesh wanted to help his sister, but she wouldn t allow him near her. She became secretive and would never be around other gods, even her own brother. This worried Divyesh even more, for he couldn t lose his only sister. In his fit of anger, he summoned his sword, which was engulfed in flame. He then attacked Isolde, leaving his sister alone in great pain and to give birth alone. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY SISTER? When smart and stupid behavior is analyzed, it s important to use the proper vocabulary to avoid any misunderstandings where certain words can be mistakenly taken out of context. When educators speak to children, it s vital to use the proper terminology without belittling the student. The artwork I chose will range from concept art, character design, and pencil tests. First let s take a look at Hayao Miyazaki s concept art for one of his movies known as Spirited Away, which was released in the United States in 2002. The movie appears to be satire, but that isn t my purpose. I have five young female friends who are about the same age as Hiiragi san*, and I spend every summer with them at my mountain cabin. I wanted to make a movie they could enjoy. That is why I started this film, and that is my true purpose (Shoten). Those were the words of Miyazaki, translated by Ryoko Toyama, showing that this image and the movie s purpose in general was to provide entertainment. The intended audience for all Studio Ghibli films is family, and especially children. Miyazaki s goal from his art is to make movies that everyone can enjoy, as stated above. Getting back to this specific image, it is most likely a mixed media of watercolor, acrylic paint, and probably edited with a computer, as it is a final background that was used in the movie. • 11. John Cage s Theory Of Silence And Chance Operations During the twentieth century, one composer in particular, John Cage, challenged the idea of music, sound, and art. Because of a distinct style and the utilization of innovative mechanisms, Cage proved to be one of the world s most original composers. He took music into a new direction creating sounds and works that have never been performed before. Through his philosophy of silence and chance operations, John Cage distinguished the difference between sound and music; sounds possess the ability to stand independently while the creation of music depends on sounds and their particular arrangement. On September 5, 1912, in Los Angeles, California, John Cage was born. From the start, environments of constant innovation, improvisation, and exploration had surrounded Cage, as his father was an inventor (Kozinn John Cage ). Growing up, he studied and learned how to play the piano. At the age of twelve, he had created his own weekly radio show in which he would feature his own performances (Kozinn John Cage ). After graduating from Los Angeles High School, Cage began to study at Pomona College. Shortly after, he discontinued his education at the institution, and saw the education he received as a lack of original thinking ( Music Is Everywhere: John Cage At 100 ). This action first introduces how Cage lived life by his own rules, and foreshadows how he would eventually bend the rules and traditions of music. This is something I ve gotten better at, but still improving. Most importantly, I ve learned how to analyze a text. The scientific essays I am used to reading, rarely do I have to read between the lines. It was hard but quite interesting to go read an essay and having to break it down from the argument, to the tools used and the author s opinion even when not directly stated. Throughout the course, I ve also learned how helpful it is to share your work with classmates. I used to think only the professor had the beneficial feedback and would never bother asking people from my class. However, I ve learned that they have a fresh perspective and could help. For example, when I presented my research paper, I wasn t expecting any feedback that would be that helpful, simply because I assumed the class wasn t familiar with my topic. However, I was surprised that not only were some familiar, but they had questions about my topic, and when I responded to them I automatically realized that unintentionally, they had just given me another argument to write about, and my response was the counter argument. The hermeneutical move can be described as a direct bridge connecting two different time periods. It s one single move that makes the connection between ancient text and 2017. This is actually a very daunting task to accomplish for leaders in the church when they are doing so many different activities throughout the week that is also expected of them. If you are going to bridge the gap between ancient text and today with an honest effort Graves brings up the point that it might be better not to achieve the gap all at once. That is a lot of information to handle right away, and if you want to understand all the details it might be better to take one little step at a time. Nancy Lammers suggests that preachers are more like gymnasts on a high bar, swinging back and forth between text and today throughout the week. The preacher studies the ancient text, all the while mindful of what is going on in the community and the larger world, all the while engaging in ancient text; back and forth our thoughts race throughout the week. (Graves, pg 644) It might be better to fully understand the text if you study it in smaller increments and relate it to today also in smaller increments. Graves is effective in illustrating this point by arguing with common sense. Studying scripture in smaller sections and relating that to our world might be more effective than trying to do it all at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Discussion of the Settings in the Great Gatsby by F. Scott... A Discussion of the Three Major Setting in The Great Gatsby Setting is an integral part of a novelist s or playwright s ability to communicate characters ideals and attitudes. One of the greatest American authors, Francis Scott Fitzgerald also employs these essential strategies when describing the three main setting of The Great Gatsby: West Egg, East Egg, and the Valley of the Ashes. Fitzgerald relates West Egg with the less fashionable side of Long Island and new money , relates East Egg to the fashionable side of Long Island and old money , and relates the Valley of Ashes to a desolate wasteland that represents the crumbling of the American Dream and the destruction caused by modern society. West Egg promotes ideals of individuality and illegality and creates an atmosphere of lavish spending; however, East Egg gives rise to ideals of upper class society fueling attitudes of condescension towards lower classes of people including West Egg, while the Valley of Ashes is the manifestation of the desolate wasteland surrounding a city that represents the withering of the American Dream. In The Great Gatsby, the first setting we are introduced to is West Egg. West Egg is described in the book as a place where the lower and middle class who have found themselves outrageous amounts of money reside. As an immediate consequence to this, they spend lavishly on extravagant desires of theirs. This is exemplified when Fitzgerald writes, From West Egg came the Poles and the ... Many people believe that morality is based upon religion and the rules written in the Bible and other holy books, although some say that religion is completely opposed to morality and it is wrong to mix the two. Moral opinions are judged against religious teachings. Even secular society adopts or is influenced by religious moral teachings, for example, it seeks guidance from religious leaders in moral matters such as genetic engineering/abortion. In conclusion the strongest view to me is Social Conditioning, in which morality is independent of religion. I believe that peoples morality comes from the environment that they are brought up in, and the people around them such as parents and teachers. From a very young age we are taught what is right and wrong, and grow up respecting the law and people around us more than God. (ii)Comment on the view that religion and morality are not linked. A Christian s dilemma is that either good is a whim or good is something that dictates to God. Hence, ESRI often presents the in vivo of the spin probes without complementary anatomical information. In contrast, Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) gives superior anatomic information. In this phenomenon, the relatively stronger magnetic moment of the electron is used to transfer of polarization from unpaired electron spins to the coupled proton spins results in the enhancement of the NMR signal in regions of the sample containing free radical, revealing its spatial distribution in the final image. This leads to the possibility of NMR imaging at very low magnetic fields [4,9,12,17 26]. Three presidents Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft, and Woodrow Wilson during the Progressive Era made essential domestic reforms and launched new foreign policies in order to construct America into a more prosperous country and a leading power around the globe. A driving force in the Progressive Era, Theodore Roosevelt believed that the government had the right to regulate big business and that the government should use its resources to help achieve economic and social justice. In his first term, he launched the Square Deal, which focused on the control of corporations, the consumer protection, and the conservation of natural resources. In order to achieve his goal of controlling the large corporations and railroad companies, Congress, under Roosevelt s urge, created the Department of Commerce and Labor to monitor corporations, help dissolve monopolies, and promote fair competition between companies. At the same year, Roosevelt initialized the Elkins Act of 1903 to end the practice of railroad granting shipping rebates to certain companies, and three years later, Theodore s administration issued the Hepburn Act, which gave the Interstate Commerce Commission the power to regulate shipping rates on railroads. • 24. Aging And The Aging Process Aging, it s something that as a species of life on this planet we are predisposed to and its results are an inevitable factor that effects our bodies in several ways, from cataracts development to the progression of memory issues from such diseases as Alzheimer s or Huntington s. The concepts of aging are broken down into two theories widely accepted by several varying fields of studies such as gerontology, the study of the aging process, and oncology, the study of cancer and tumor development. The Cellular theory, which focuses solely on the idea that a species and individual s lifespan and condition in life is based on genetic and cellular factors that predispose us to a variety of diseases. The second theory is known as Wear and Tear theory which heavily concentrates on the concepts of external factors in the aging process. The studies behind this theory focuses on the physical condition of the body and the environmental circumstances that result in the condition of the body as an individual is aging. The aging process is a unique aspect of life that attributes to several varieties of diseases and conditions that affect the lifestyle of the individual both externally and internally. The concept that is become more appropriate among professional studies within the fields mentioned prior is a combination of both cellular and physical theories. • 28. The Wizard Of Oz Findings Paper Our research topic was on how influential the Wizard of Oz was and how its impact changed the entertainment and dramatic arts industries. We decided to choose a topic that was interesting and something that almost everyone would have some knowledge about. In our project we addressed the characters, music, and the values of the film. The Wizard of Oz is one of the most influential films in history. It was one of the first movies to be filmed in color and whole production cost set a record at MGM studio with the movie costing 2.8 million dollars to make. The success of this film opened so many doors for other movies. Something we also found to be interesting was that The Wizard of Oz was the first videocassette tape released by MGM and CBS Home Video nearly forty years after it hit the big screen. ... The ballad that sets the tone of the film, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, played a significant part in the film. This song was almost cut from production because the producers thought that it conflicted with the upbeat tempo of the rest of the movie. It foreshadows the story that is about to take place. All the songs that are sung and the characters in The Wizard of Oz have a deeper meaning to them. People could relate to the characters. As years went by there have been many other film adaptations of The Wizard of Oz such as, The Wonderful Land of Oz, The Wiz, Return to Oz, and Oz the Great and Powerful. There are also many references to the famous tale today. There was a study at Northwestern University that showed that there are over five hundred references to it in modern films ... • 30. Foreign Investment During the Recent Global Economic... Foreign Investment during the recent global economic recession ABSTRACT: The year 2008 marked the end of a growth cycle in international investment that started in 2004 and saw world foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows reach a historic record of $1.9 trillion in 2007. Since then FDIs have been decreasing. The fall in global FDI in 2008 2009 is the result of two major factors affecting domestic as well as international investment. First, the capability of firms to invest has been reduced by a fall in access to financial resources, both internally due to a decline in corporate profits and externally due to the lower availability and higher cost of finance. Second, the propensity to invest has been affected negatively by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The proposed Xstrata takeover of a South African mining conglomerate was put on hold as the financing was harder due to the credit crunch . There are several other examples e.g. in India . In the face of the global economic slowdown (and recession in a number of major economies), tighter credit conditions and falling corporate profits, many companies have announced plans to curtail production, lay off workers and cut capital expenditure, all of which has implications for FDI .However, the impact of the crisis varies widely, depending on region and country, with consequences for the geographic pattern of FDI flows . The current crisis began in the developed world, though it is rapidly spreading to developing and transition economies. Developed countries have thus been directly hit by the financial crisis, while its effects on developing economies have so far been indirect in most cases, with varying degrees of severity among regions and countries. This has direct consequences on the geographical patterns of FDI inflows. There is ample evidence that the global crisis is having a negative impact on international investment. Tighter credit conditions and lower corporate profits have weakened companies capability to finance their overseas projects; while the global economic recession and a heightened appreciation of risks have eroded business confidence. Many large TNCs have revised their global expansion plans downward, and divestments have taken ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Essay on Inherit the Wind (Scopes Trial) The play Inherit the Wind, was written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee to inform its readers about the injustice of a law that limited the freedom of an ordinary citizen. This play is based upon actual events that happened to an individual, John Scopes, in Dayton, Tennessee during the 1920 s. This famous Monkey Trial not only allowed people to begin to accept new theories about the origin of man, but also showed that they did not have to limit themselves in other areas of life. In the beginning of the play, the authors try to lead us into the topic of Darwinism versus Creationism. One instance was when the character Howard actually told Melinda Your old man s a monkey! (5) The audience also learns that the accused lawbreaker, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This format also allowed the story to be conveyed without any bias to either side. It is in this way that the authors allow each side of the case to speak their minds freely. In my opinion the theme s purpose was achieved through the expression of becoming open with new ideas and leaving the play as unbiased form. The author s key style as well highlighted humour, as a comic relief. They used it as a tool to decrease the stress of the characters and the trial itself. For instance when Brady sarcastically says to Drummond is the defense showing us the latest fashion in the city of Chicago? (40), and Drummond strikes back with slapping his suspenders down to attract the attention of the court. They want laughter aroused in the courtroom. Hornbeck himself is in the play to create some cynical humor. Though it is not exactly a technique, it did capture my attention how the character who did accustom with changes and was open to all new ideas ended better than he who was faithful yet stubborn with old ideas. What I didn t like about Inherit the Wind does not show to be a historically accurate depiction of the Scopes trial. The main source for Lee and Lawrence s information was the actual trial record found in Dayton, Tennessee, dating back to 1925. They did not use all of the characters or dialogue from the records, instead they elaborated on the actual people and events, also using reporters stories on the case. The authors ...
