How Did Technology Affect The Development Of The Vietnam War
Technological advancements have played a crucial role in prospering a country s economic and social
standing. Looking at it from a resourceful perspective, a country heading into war puts a strain on the
nation s resources due to the high demand of goods. Generally speaking, wars do, however, accelerate
the technological development of a nation in order to adapt to the needs of the military. Prior to the
start of the Vietnam war which began in 1955 1975 technological equipment such as the helicopter,
airpower, infantry weapons, booby traps, and anti aircraft were not around. Only until the start of the
war, we began to see an advancement in equipment. These improvements have altered the lives of
citizens both on a large and a small scale.
The Vietnam war was a lengthy war that lasted for approximately 20 years. The war was between
northern and southern Vietnam against communist beliefs. Northern Vietnam was pro communism and
so were its allies Viet Cong. Southern Vietnam was anti communist and was allied with the United
States. The war began in 1954 following the upcoming of Ho Chi Minh and his communist Viet Minh
party in North Vietnam. The reason for the U.S involvement in the war was due to the fear of the
domino effect where one country falls to communism and the surrounding countries follow. Prior the
to the Vietnamese war, the world s two superpowers (the United States and the Soviet Union) were
involved in the cold war. The cold war was more or a less a state of

responsibility of saving a crumbling nation from falling apart. Despite the major constraints President

Roosevelt Biography depicts Franklin D. Roosevelt as a determined president who had no will to give
up. Despite his courageous efforts to overcome his crippling illness, he never regained the use of his
legs (4). Roosevelt had to endure the disadvantages that polio brought him, but instead of agonizing
over his pain, FDR chose to take on the responsibility to aid other polio victims. Roosevelt s disability
led him to create a foundation to help polio victims and to fund the March of Dimes program which
eventually established an effective vaccine for the miserable disease. Moved to create a grand alliance
against the Axis powers...pledged themselves to a peacekeeping organization (15). As America battled
the Axis powers which consisted of Germany, Italy, and Japan during World War II, FDR did not want
his country to be defined as a defeated nation. With all his power, Roosevelt united several countries
who fought against the Axis powers into a single organization currently known as the United Nations
and claimed victory for America. Franklin D. Roosevelt used his own feelings and powers to gain the

The Hutu and the Tutsi have a violent history dating back to 1959 when the Hutus overthrew the Tutsi
king appointed by the Belgian colonizers. Thousands of Tutsi were killed and over a hundred thousand
were driven into neighboring countries. Years later the exiled Tutsi formed the Rwandan Patriotic
Front (RPF) and began a civil war in 1990. This resulted in years of political and economic disruption
and culminated in 1994 to a state orchestrated genocide which led to the deaths of ¾ of the Tutsi
population as well as about 30% of the Twa. The genocide ended when the RPF defeated the national
army and established a government of national unity led by the RPF (CIA). Nearly 2 million Hutu fled
Rwanda in fear of Tutsi retaliation which may have been well founded. In August 2010 the UN
published a report which accused Rwanda s Tutsi leaders of crimes against humanity, war crimes, or
even genocide . The report details the systematic and premeditated nature of attacks on Hutus in the
DRC by the Rwandan army from 1993 to 2003 (United Nations, DRC ). The Rwandan government
has since denied the allegations however multiple mass graves have been found where the genocides

Media And Broad Casting Mass Media
For a long time, people receive news on the printed source such as newspaper, magazine which
published by newspaper company or publishing company. A little while a go, people got another news
source which are radio and television. Most country start with public broad casting and while later, the
radio or television company established and start broadcasting own programs. Both literary media and
broad casting mass media are mostly driven by big company and each of those company has own
political stance or sponsor and those factor heavily reflected to the articles or programs they
published. Back in the days, these biased article provide versatility to individual issues. For example
the press called Partisan Press which has clear political bias and it attracted the different group of
people.(Sikka, Week4 Lecture) The issue now publish and broadcast media is lack of versatility by
concentration of the ownership. Consequence of the capitalism society, many of the company which
produce news bought by bigger powerful company and it end up with under around 10 company are
owning media nowadays and this concentration of media ownership leads to the lack of versatility.
(Lorimer, 249) After the internet technology available to the public, the issue of versatility starts to
solve gradually by individual s blog or the rapid rising of micro blog service use such as Twitter . The
characteristic of the internet that it differ from old media, individual able to be an journalist and there

Example Of Nationalism Research Paper
The following essay talks about Nationalism. This essay will give reasons of nationalism behind
different community challenges and how it affects the country. The reason why I choose this problem
because I think that the idea of nationalism is one of the most important ideas in which are the actions
taken by the members of the nation when they are seeing in achieving self determination. And it
stands for the ideology which is based on the premise that the individual s loyalty and devotion
towards his/her nation which surpass other individual or group interests.
Nationalism is a modern movement. After it came it got ignored in political philosophy which got
noticed. And in last decade, it further led to issues in the international justice of terrorism, the clash of
civilisations. But still, all this are just the definition or meaning of nationalism. Actually, if we think

because it consists of a lot of languages, religions, customs, ways of living life etc. And all these
things are in the majority and minority groups which led to inner conflicts which give a very bad
outcome of the nation s state. And the basic issue of India is to build up a real and inner sense. And the
main point he made was that the feeling of nationalism is going enlarging and more especially it takes

that it can be done electronically and is efficient for both the buyer and receiver. It is efficient because
it is one central location people can go to purchase specific desired items. Bed Bath Beyond s most
popular registry service is its wedding registry. It is regarded as the best registry by Kristi Kellog, in

Negative Effects Of Social Media On Children
Negative Effects of Social Media and Children Technology has become very popular with children;
more adults are minimizing the age in which they are supplying their children with technological
devices such as smartphones. As parents, we feel by giving children such technology at an early age
that we are essentially providing an advantage when in fact we are doing the opposite. Exposing your
children to technology at such an early age and they have access to social media makes them prone to
health issues, social issues, and most importantly dangers that could lead to death. Social media opens
the doors to communication to people that a child probably would not speak to in real life. Predators
can disguise themselves as children to chat, exchange pictures, and learn information about your child.
Sometimes, the predators may even try to meet your child to hurt them or even learn their
whereabouts to kidnap them. Different options on smartphones such as GPS gives your child s
location making it easier for predators to find their prey. In real life, your children may not speak to
strangers but on social media and the internet, they are probably more naïve and trustful. Social media
also exposes your child to cyberbullying from classmates and sometimes people they do not even
know. Many children have experienced some form of cyberbullying. Cyberbullies may say meaner
things through the computer or phone than what they would speak to in direct contact because most

Usefulness and Reliability of Information Provided By...
An ongoing concern in financial reporting is the usefulness and reliability of information provided by
corporations. The financial accounting standard board defines usefulness as the information that is
useful for the users in decision making (FASB, 2011). Reliability is inferred when the information is
verified, objective, and can be relied on. Therefore, Statement of Financial Accounting Standards No.
157 standardizes the valuation and disclosure of fair value for assets and liabilities in order to achieve
both usefulness and reliability. The reasoning for the hierarchy was due to the inconsistency in
previous definitions and guidance (FASB, 1992).
Introduction to Fair Value Hierarchy
To begin, SFAS defines fair value as the value ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SFAS Relating to the Conceptual Framework
The framework for measuring fair value is easy to understand and follow, and relates to the conceptual
framework. As stated earlier the preferred measure of fair value is the market approach, because the
prices are observable. For this reason the standard recognizes the need for relevant, reliable, and
comparable information in order for users to make better decisions about the current financial position
of a company. Financial readers are aware of the valuing measurement used to calculate the fair value,
whether the measurement were derived from an observable or unobservable input. The measurement
establishes the existence of reliable and relevance qualitative factors that make accounting information
useful for decision making (Barbera, 2007). If it were observable then the value derived can be
researched and verified. However, if it were unobservable then the user must read the disclosures
which will be discussed later in the research paper, and determine the reliability of the internally
generated measurement. In return it can be understood that the level 1 inputs are more reliable and
relevant than the other two levels.
In addition, the fair value hierarchy also enhances the comparability and consistency of information
among companies due to following practices: all companies must

African American Culture In Ralph Ellison s The Invisible Man
American culture had already dominated across the nation by the 1930 s; however, the cherished
traditions of African Americans also began to flourish through the development of their remarkable
presence in the city of Harlem, New York. Ralph Ellison utilizes his perspective on this rise of African
American culture to depict American society during this era, in his 1952 novel, The Invisible Man. His
view on the time is comprised of the prejudice actions against African Americans and the prevalence
of segregation between blacks and whites. Subsequently, Ellison depicts the effects of these actions in
the African American society of Harlem, New York through symbolic features, in order to display how
black stereotypes were a part of the mindset of the typical white American.
Initially, Ellison uses the sambo doll to symbolize these black stereotypes and constant degrading
power of prejudice among the African American societies in the Unites States during the 1930 s. The
sambo doll is mentioned in the instance in which the narrator is looking at a items being sold by a man
he knows, Clifton. Until he takes a closer look at the doll, he doesn t realize its intended purpose and
listens to the seller say, shake him, shake him, you cannot break him For he s Sambo, the dancing,
Sambo, the prancing, Sambo, the entrancing, Sambo Boogie Woogie paper doll. And all for twenty
five cents, the quarter part of a dollar... Ladies and gentlemen, he ll bring you joy, step up and meet
him, Sambo the... (Ellison 358). Through this symbol, Ellison shows how African Americans are just
like puppet dolls used to entertain others, but can be controlled in one way or another, as they are
essentially powerless compared to the whites. The term sambo , in specific, is used as a degrading
term towards African American individuals since the time of slavery, so its reuse during this era gives
the term an even more disheartening connotation. Even today, the use of Sambo Art is a dominant
style of memorabilia in Harvard s Image of the Black in Western Art Archive . This archive contains
around 26,000 images of the blacks in western times; however, gives off a racist impression as the
images they are a part of, are lower quality forms of art

Since The Beginning Of Human-Animal Interaction, There
Since the beginning of human animal interaction, there has been a one sided power dynamic that
cripples animal welfare for the egotistical goal of filling our human desires. Animals of all kinds die a
painful death in order to become the burger on another obese child s plate, the fur coat for yet another
greed driven member of the one percent, and for the lab testing for the perfume of another heartless
person. Humans have turned a blind eye to many a tragedy in the past, yet the injustice against
animals is one that is overlooked each and everyday. The entire world has convinced itself that it the
act of killing animals for any reason is justified with the anthropocentric alibi that nothing matters but
human comfort and expansion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As we kill the cow to make burgers, we deny his own interests in sacrifice of our own superficial
immoral demands. Another reason that it is immoral to kill and torture animals for our own gain is the
belief that animals have their own intrinsic value. This value is present whether we choose to see it or
not in all species. Though some in favor of speciesism may argue that it is only immoral to kill certain
species of animals, it is actually wrong for all species to be killed because all species are equal in
value. This intrinsic value is present in all animals and they must be respected for it. Regan transcribes
animals that concern us (the ones that are eaten and trapped, for example), they, too, must be viewed
as the experiencing subjects of a life with inherent value of their own (Regan 112). Humans may claim
that no animal could share this inherent value. However, this self centered viewpoint is blatantly
wrong. To say this ignores members of our own species who are not as intelligent, physically fit, or
beautiful as society s standard. Yet, we do not condemn these beings to a torturous death. Speciesism
is present in our minds whether we choose to accept it or not. We ignore the failures of certain
members of our species simply because they are Homo sapiens, but we rob animals of their intrinsic
value without a second thought. Regan goes on to say that All who have inherent value have it equally,
whether they be human animals or not

B. Main point II: Kindness reflects leadership quality because it teaches leader how to lead and take

She emphasizes that our kind actions, big or small, prove that we want to take charge and make the

The And Authority Of The New Testament Canon
The traditional interpretation of the development and authority of the New Testament canon is often a
topic of debate and scrutiny; however, Dr. Michael J. Kruger provided an excellent, well written
justification of how the New Testament canon came to be the 27 books known today. Kruger is
President and the Samuel C. Patterson Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at
Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. Other publications include The Gospel of the
Savior, The Question of Canon, The Heresy of Orthodoxy, Gospel Fragments, and A Biblical
Theological Introduction to the New Testament. His written work has led him to be known as a
scholar in the origins of the New Testament Canon, in particular writings related to the New Testament
Canon.
For centuries people have been perplexed regarding the books of the New Testament canon. Many
Christians have accepted the 27 books in the New Testament Canon but often cannot provide adequate
justification regarding how the canon was established. In Canon Revisited: Establishing the Origins
and Authority of the New Testament Books, Michael J. Kruger provides readers with a glimpse of this
tough question and his response. He offers the readers a response to succinctly justify their acceptance
and understanding of the New Testament canon. In a few short chapters Kruger articulately confronted
this very difficult topic.

Human Understanding As A Means By The World Can Be...
Philosophers have always been concerned to establish a means by which the world can be understood
objectively. The problem is that it is difficult to establish the extent to which the physical world exists
independently of perception (Brock and Mares, 2007, p. 34). Philosophers identify a perceptual barrier
preventing knowledge of whether or not what can be perceived is an accurate or literal representation
of the true nature of reality; a barrier known in philosophical discourse as the veil of perception
(Bennett, 1968, p. 98). In 1689 Locke wrote An Essay Concerning Human Understanding as a means
of explaining this barrier, using a theory categorised by philosophers as a form of representational
realism (Brock Mares, 2007, p. 49). In order to analyse the potential (or otherwise) of this approach, a
philosopher needs to understand what Locke intended by his thesis of primary, secondary and tertiary
qualities and consider the extent to which these may be inherently part of an object, and thereby the
degree to which that object might correspond in reality with the way it is perceived. Locke s work has
been significantly critiqued (either to extend the ideas, or to refute them) ever since its publication.
Currently the technologically augmented insights of information theory responses to Locke s Essay
use scientific evidence as a basis for both accepting and refuting Locke s theory, making it a
perennially stimulating subject.
Locke s intention was to explain how the

Kristallnacht Informative Essay
On January 30, 1933, one of the most horrible events occurred. Everyone knows this day as the
beginning of The Holocaust. The Holocaust is one of the most horrific genocides. During The
Holocaust, six million Jewish people got murdered by Nazis. Men, women, and even children died. I
want to discuss this event in history. But there are also other events in history that are like The
Holocaust. Things like antisemitism, racism, and bullying, which are real issues as well. Today, I will

The beginning of the XX century was marked by the struggle of Iran to maintain the national
independence in the face of Russian and British economic and colonial pressure and to save the
Persian culture. These attempts to preserve and resurrect national consciousness were skilfully used by
the revolutionary politicians in their struggle for power and the majority approval. The Western idea of
nationhood and the sense of belonging to a greater nation with similar linguistic and racial
characteristics were developed in post Napoleonic Europe and became crucial in the unification of
countries such as Italy and Germany whereas in Iran this process have partially resulted from the

The character of this topic dictates to use historical comparative analysis of nationalism theory in Iran
at different points during the modernization reforms in the first half of XX century under Reza Shah

Iran during the late Qajar dynastic rule and early years of Pahlavi s rule. Then it will focus on the
political roots of nationalism in Iran during the modernization by Reza Shah Pahlavi. The role of
education and propaganda as the main tools of the nationalism spread and development will be
discussed in the second section. The final section of this paper will defend the thesis that nationalism
was predominantly implanted idea from above by demonstrating the inconsistencies between the
modernizing nationalist doctrine and the Islamic nature and philosophy of Iranian population. This
paper will conclude that the nationalism as a state ideology was imposed in Iran by the constitutional
monarchy of Reza Shah Pahlavi and it used language, history and ethnicity in order to maintain the

carry holster industry. In following pages the Alien Gear background will be discussed, explore the
market strategy, examine social and ethical issues, and describe the strategy addressing these
concerns.
Background
When it comes to concealed carry holster options in the past there were only a few companies out
there. In 2013, Thomas Tedder entered the conceal holster industry with his company Alien Gear (

Equally important, they can require the customer to input their conceal carry permit number into their
check out procedures. This step would require the company to check with the customer s state before
mailing out the holster. State officials with stricter conceal carry policies would encourage this
partnership because it could reduce the number of people illegally carrying a firearm. To increase the
chance of internationally sales Alien Gear can look at doing a direct investment in that host country.
The direct investment would have Alien Gear investing or owning in a foreign subsidiary (Kerin et al.,
2016). Alien Gear could also go the route of licensing by allowing a host country to use their patient
and make their product in that country. They would receive a portion of the sales and it would save

Kartagener s Syndrome Research Paper
Kartagener s Syndrome (PCD)
Structure and Function: The cilia organelles are found in eukaryotic cells. Cilia are made up of
microtubule based cytoskeleton called the axoneme and multiple proteins. The function of the cilia is
to keep passageways clear of any mucus and foreign particles. 38
The disease and how the organelle malfunctions: Kartagener s syndrome is a rare hereditary genetic
disorder. This disorder affects the respiratory tract, middle ear, fallopian tube, and the flagella of
sperm cells. This disorder starts in the embryologic phase of development. The diagram shows you the
main internal structure and anything missing or deformed in the central microtubules to the dynein

The lack of movement causes there to be little to no mucus clearance in the lungs. One symptom of
Kartagener s syndrome is chronic or recurrent respiratory diseases. The respiratory diseases start off
when the patient is young, but as the patient gets older the respiratory diseases get worse. These
diseases cause progressive damage to the respiratory system. Some other symptoms of Kartagener s
syndrome is hearing loss and loss of smell. Hearing loss and loss of smell is due to the buildup of
mucus in the respiratory tract. 104
Diagnosis and prognosis: The earliest that this disorder can be diagnosed at is birth, if the newborn
experiences respiratory distress or needs respiratory therapy. Kartagener s syndrome is most often
diagnosed in early childhood. If the child has recurring ear infections, chronic sinusitis, or chronic
respiratory infections with no obvious cause the doctor will then check for PCD or Kartagener s
syndrome. There are several different ways that a doctor can diagnose you for Kartagener s syndrome.
One way to test for Kartagener s syndrome is to do a breathing test. People with this disease breath out
less nitric oxide. Other ways are to do a tissue biopsy, semen analysis, or imaging scans. The disease
causes you to be vulnerable to all different types of respiratory diseases. People with Kartagener s
syndrome can have multiple respiratory diseases

Tension In Rwanda Genocide
World History II Colonial Legacies Research Paper
In 1994, a brutal battle of discrimination and hatred erupted. In the central African country of Rwanda,
a long brewing tension broke out in a battle between the Tutsi and Hutu. Lasting approximately 100
days, the conflict forever changed the lives of 40% of the Rwandan population. About 800,000 Tutsi
were killed and many refugees fled the country ( Rwandan Genocide ). It was a grueling fight, based
on land and power, that all started with a lopsided hierarchy created by the Belgians that loomed over
the heads of the Rwandan people. Belgium s colonization of Rwanda, served as a catalyst to the

The Problems Of Obedience And Authority

The Problems of Obedience to Authority
People will do about anything to stay out of trouble when it comes to someone with authority that
cannot be argued with. Stanley Milgram did an experiment on the topic of obedience to authority; he
wanted to know how ordinary people could do horrible things if forced to by someone of authority.
Obedience to authority is instinctual for human beings, there has and will always be someone with a
higher authority than ourselves. How can normal, ordinary people that think of themselves or are
thought of as genuinely good people do things that they know is morally wrong when told to do so by
someone of authority? That is the question that Milgram asked himself when he started his
experiments.
The main point of the experiment was to test why people listen and act on what people of authority tell
them to do. Milgram took ordinary people and proved that most of the general populace is willing to
physically hurt another human being if provoked by someone in a position of authority. This causes a
person to question as Encina does, Why were those who challenged authority in the minority? So
entrenched is obedience it may void personal codes of conduct (Encina).
In the experiment Milgram picked people off of the streets and tested them on how far they would go
to hurt someone when instructed to do so by someone of authority. Respondents were told that the
experiment would

Male Dominance Behavior
Dominance behavior has been displayed among a variety of species. In horses, there are several
factors that play key roles when it comes to determining level of dominance such as social interaction
between horses, aggressive behaviors and hierarchy. Horses have become to be known as very
sociable animals. They are used for many human purposes such as entertainment, therapy, law
enforcement purposes, search and rescue purposes...etc. Horses are animals that have to be trained to
adapt to living with humans. If not trained properly, they can be highly aggressive animals that can
injure humans without warning. It is important to understand the behavior of horses in order to
facilitate the appropriate living situation and training necessary. Male horses will be more likely to

The way they interact with each other is a determinant of what kind of behavioral characteristic each
horse possess. For example, there are certain behaviors that can determine if a horse is dominant
versus submissive or whether a horse is aggressive versus peaceful. Curry et al. (2007) believed that
the behavior of horses is influenced by their living conditions, specifically in stables. Horses are on a
schedule with limited time spent in the stables and time spent roaming the fields. Observing what they
do with that time can be excellent predictors of behavior. Depriving horses of company can also
reduce the amount of aggressive encounters and negative behaviors. Single stabled living
arrangements have been beneficial in cases of horses that display high levels of aggression. One
argument that Fureix et al. (2012) made was that social confinement and depriving interactions with
other horses could lead to aggressive acts when confronted again. Confinement can increase
aggression levels and led to injuries between groups of

HISTORY AND ORIGINATORS OF KEYBOARD
BAROQUE PERIOD
Harpsichord (Italian cembalo; French clavecin), stringed keyboard instrument in which the strings are
plucked to produce sound. It was developed in Europe in the 14th or 15th century and was widely
used from the 16th to the early 19th century, when it was superseded by the piano. In the 20th century
the harpsichord was revived for performance of music of the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, as well as
for new compositions. The incisive sound quality of the plucked metal strings adds clarity to melodic
lines. The harpsichord is particularly effective in performing contrapuntal music that is, music that

A typical two manual harpsichord of the 18th century had strings at normal and octave high pitch
playable on the lower manual, strings at normal pitch controlled by the upper manual, and a coupling

and 17th centuries. Italian harpsichords differed from others in that they normally were made of
extremely thin wood and then placed in a stronger outer case of the same shape. A second important
school of building developed in the 16th and 17th centuries in Flanders, centered around the
influential Ruckers family of builders. These schools gave way in the 18th century to distinctive styles
of building that developed in France (the Blachet family), Germany (the Hass family), and England
(Jacob Kirkman). Harpsichords of the different national schools varied in details of their proportions
and construction, resulting in slight, although characteristic differences in tone color. Modern
Developments In the 20th century, two broad approaches to harpsichord building emerged. The first
utilized recent principles of construction, such as are found in present day pianos. Stimulated by the
Polish harpsichordist Wanda Landowska, this style was exemplified by the French piano firms of
Pleyel and Érard. Their harpsichords relied on heavy strings under high tension in a heavily braced

My Table Conflict
The struggle between staying within society s expectations and the desire to make a commitment to
one s art can be daunting. This dilemma has been questioned for ages. Sometimes society even
questions someone who doesn t quite fit into a norm they believe exists. These conflict or struggle is
addressed in Jane Campion s film, An Angel at My Table. The film is based on a trilogy of
autobiographies by Australian author, Janet Frame. Adapted originally for a three part mini series, the
film chronicles Janet s life from childhood to young adulthood. Throughout the film its director
highlights the contest for one person, with immense talent and insecurity, to conform to the social
norms of the 30 s, 40 s, and onward. The director s use of narrations, ... Show more content on

mentions Campion s way of making Frame look startled in the film. Campion and her
cinematographer, Stuart Dryburgh, used wide angle lenses to exaggerate spaces in the film (Cousins,

looking outside for what awaits. Her containment within that window can also be viewed as her
containment in her mind as far as the community sees it. A positive outlook is asserted in the scenes
where Janet is in Spain. In this shots she is sitting in the window while it is wrapped around her. She
smiles, alone in her freedom to be who she without restrictions from outer infringements. Finally, the
closing scene, the author is home and content to be within that window. Sue Gillet concurs; She
speaks the words she has found to write, comforting words (Gillet, 1). Janet Frame is no longer is is

Research Paper On Gloria Steinem
Gloria Steinem was one of the most important leaders of the second wave of the women s rights
movement. As both an indirect and direct leader, she embodied her story by giving speeches and
writing books and articles to help empower women across the United States and beyond. As she grew
up in American society where sexism was present, she told an innovative story with visionary
elements to prove to women that they were more than what society said they were. Her strong and
feisty personality added to her success and I will argue that these factors along with her appearance
helped her to be a major player and the face of the women s rights movement.
Gloria Steinem grew up to be a widely known and loved leader of the women s rights movement,
however, it took her a long time to get there. Gloria was born on March 25th, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio.
Both of her parents, Ruth and Leo Steinem, had a significant impact on Gloria. Her mother gave her
the political and social beliefs she held as an adult. Ruth Steinem taught Gloria that all people are
equal and that it is important to understand the suffering people go through because of their race, or
class, or religion or as Gloria learned to add, their sex . On the other hand, her father instilled in her a
love of life and adventure. Her love on the road stemmed from her father s irresponsibility that caused
the family to move around a lot. Fortunately, this love this allowed Gloria to be present in front of her

His family attended a Presbyterian church called Franklyn Street Presbyterian. (Wikipedia) Machen s

However, Machen never identified himself as a fundamentalist because he would not embrace things
such as premillennialism and the anti intellectual attitude of traditional fundamentals.(Piper)
In 1929, Princeton Seminary was beginning to sway toward liberal theology, which Machen opposed.
In response to the changes at Princeton, Machen went on to found Westminster Theology Seminary in
order to continue reformed orthodox theology. Later, in 1933, Machen , along with seven others, were
suspended from the Presbyterian ministry. They went on to leave the Northern Presbyterian Church
and founded the Orthodox Presbyterian church. Only a few years later, in 1937, Machen died at age
56. even though he died rather young, Machen helped shape the conservative movement against
Modernists without being a true fundamentalist. His books, sugh as his textbook on New Testament
Greek, are still used today in modern seminaries. (Haykin)
Machen s thoughts about society and Christianity can be found in many of his own books. The book I
found most useful was entitled What is Faith?. Unlike fundamentalists, Machen believed that
education was highly important in society; yet, he still thought that the most significant part of
Christianity was not throught the church or school. In the introduction of what is Faith? Machen

Define Mistaken Behavior

the value in having an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and how can help
teachers guide young children?
Mistaken Behaviors
Mistaking behavior is a comprehensive guidance that professional teachers are developing to assist
children through difficult situations. This guidance approach recognizes that children are in a process
of development where they are learning skills to live in a democratic life, during this process children
has many mistakes that are reflected at their behavior. The importance of this this concept is that
teachers can understand that children can make mistakes, and they can learn from them. Instead,

Maybe they feel hungry, sick or tired. They have lack knowledge or experience. They feel stressed
(something wrong or new is happening at house).
Misbehavior
This discipline concept suggests that the children are doing intentional mistakes and teachers must
discipline and punish to the child. At this wrong guidance teachers label children who misbehave
calling names such as naughty bad mean rowdy , and also punish the child. Teachers who do this
practice think that when the child get shame they will be behave good. These negative labels can
affect with bad consequences to their behavior. The child will believe that they are the wrong label
given.
As Ginott wrote in Teacher and Child (1972), Firmness without harshness is essential in guidance. The
adult who intervenes in the face of mistaken behavior often must be firm, but must be firm and
friendly not firm and harsh . The goal is to help children learn positive social skills from their
mistakes; punish discipline cannot achieve this.

The Importance Of Thrasymachus In Plato s Republic
The Importance of Thrasymachus in Plato s Republic
Dr. Malters s comments: This student does two things quite remarkable for an undergraduate student.
In his compact essay, not only does he display an in depth understanding of complex perspectives on
justice put forth by the protagonist Socrates, he deftly explains how Plato has artfully made rude
objections by a seemingly minor character early in the dialogue function as a structuring device for
nearly all the important ideas examined thereafter.

Though defeated on this point, he s not yet satisfied with Socrates argument, and sticks by one of his
previously stated views which held that injustice is more profitable than justice. However, he shrinks
back and seems no longer able to speak for himself after Socrates refuted his argument on justice.
Despite his withdrawal from the argument throughout the rest of the Republic, his early ideas help
lead Socrates farther on his search for justice through the construction of a hypothetical just city. In
describing the education of the guardians of this city, Socrates discusses the need for a balance
between gymnastics and poetry. He relates how too much gymnastics lead the spirited part of someone
to be overtightened and hard. He ll be museless and hate discussion explains Socrates. This hardness
and hate for discussion reminds us of the actions of Thrasymachus at the beginning of the argument
defining justice. Thrasymachus becomes an example of a badly tuned soul that Socrates goes on to
describe. On examining Thrasymachus idea that it pays to be perfectly unjust, Socrates refutes this
argument in Book 4 as he speaks of the souls three parts; wisdom, spirit, and desire. The civil war
between these three parts is shown to be the cause of injustice, but before Socrates can correlate this

Comparison Of Cyber Monday And Black Friday
A growing number of businesses consider the Black Friday and Cyber Monday as the two most

the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.Similarly, Cyber Monday is the Monday following
the Black Friday in the United States. It seems that both of the two shopping days will make the
retailers and consumers go crazy extremely in that time. Thus, people are gradually paying attention to

In addition to the screws, there are pegs that keep your tail light affixed to your vehicle. You are

are rusted, you may even need to use a crowbar.
Replace The Lens
Now that you have the entire tail light apparatus off of your vehicle, inspect it and make sure that you
only need to replace the lens. If the entire apparatus is damaged, you can purchase a new one at the
same used auto parts supplier where you purchased the lens.
If the rest of the unit is in good shape, all you have to do is replace the lens. You are probably going to
have to remove a few more screws that are holding the lens in place in order to remove the old lens.
Once you have removed the old lens, set the new lens in place and screw it into the tail light assembly.
Putting It Back Together
Now that you have the lens on the tail light, you are going to need to line up the pegs and push them
back into your vehicle. Keep in mind that if you had to use some force to pull the assemble off, you

The Most Important Aspects Of Family Values
Everyone has values that they consider to be the most important aspects of their life. For me, these
values are family and friendship. In many occasions, it is those who have less, but have strong familial
and friendship bonds that seem to be the happiest. Through family bonds and friendship, we are able
to have happy, fulfilling lives that money and success can not quite achieve. In the CASL building,
during the photowalk, I observed my surroundings to find the photos that I took. In the photos I took,
a Macbeth poster and a quinceañera, we can see why I feel that these bonds are of utmost importance.
The Macbeth poster shows that power comes with a price and cannot bring true happiness through the
facial expression and the skull being in the shape of a crown. While the quinceañera photo shows that
having family and friends surrounding you can bring you happiness. However, the music videos that
were viewed in class display different values from my own. In these, the core values displayed are
black empowerment and bringing awareness to discrimination that the African American community
face as a whole. Although these are vastly important, they do not connect fully with my values.
In the first photo taken, we are able to see why family and friendship are the most significant values.

about 7 percent over the last few years. Piper Pickle s debt ratio is currently 42 percent versus 25
percent for other large pickle packers. Other firms in the industry, on the average, have been growing
at a rate of about 5 percent a year, and their stocks have been selling at a price/earnings ratio of about
10. Piper Pickle has an opportunity to begin growing its own cucumbers, which would result in a
substantial cost savings and reduce the risk involved in having to compete for cucumbers in the open
market. This vertical integration would require $20 million in cash for the necessary farms and
equipment.

Essay on Violence in Television
When families sit down to watch television, they expect to watch family type of shows. Family type
shows meaning rated PG or PG13, sitcoms and movies that do not include weapons, killing, foul
language, and non socially accepted actions. When children killing, they start to believe that it is
accepted. Do children think that killing and hurting others and themselves have little meaning to the
real life, children can become traumatized. Most killers or violators of the law blame their behavior on
the media, and the way that television portrays violators. Longitudinal studies tracking viewing habits
and behavior patterns of a single individual found that 8 year old boys, who viewed the most violent
programs growing up, were the most likely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the National Television Violence Study, the context in which violence is portrayed is as
important to its impact as the amount of violence. The study concluded that 66% of children s
programming had violence. Of the shows with violent content three quarters demonstrated unpunished
violence and when violence occurred 58% of the time, victims were not shown experiencing pain.
That makes the children think that violence is just like riding a bike, simple as that (NTVS, 1 2).
Parents try not to let their children watch shows that they would watch due to the fact that there is a lot
of violence that occurs. When parents sit down and watch the cartoons that their children are
watching, they can notice that the violence is incredibly higher. The level of violence during Saturday
morning cartoons is higher than the level of violence during prime time. There are 3 to 5 violent acts
per hour in prime time, versus the 20 25 acts per hour on Saturday morning. Media violence is
especially damaging to young children (under age 8) because they cannot easily tell the difference
between real life and fantasy. Violent images on television and in movies may seem real to young
children. Viewing violent images can traumatize innocent children (NTVS, 1 2).
There is a strategy to help the children understand that what they are watching is not educational. You
can tell your child that you are

T-Mobile Research Papers
T Mobile established a significant gap in it s wireless services in Claremont. A significant gap is
established when a large amount of people is affected by the gap in wireless services such as on a
highway or interstate. MB Operations, LLC, 107 F. Supp. 2d 108. A gap occurs when a remote user of
those services is unable to either connect with the land based nation telephone network, or to maintain
a connect capable of supporting a reasonably uninterrupted communication. T Mobile, 2007 U.S. Dist.

that gap. Id.

T Mobile first established a gap in wireless services by focusing on remote users rather than wanting
to place the tower in the center of the town. Omnipoint reiterates the importance of having a wireless
service tower erected near a busy highway or route. MB Operations, LLC, 107 F. Supp. 2d 108. In
Omnipoint, there was a significant gap in services on Route 2 and 2A. Like Omnipoint, T Mobile
wants to erect its wireless service tower on highly traveled I 89 to close a significant gap. Z.B.A. Hr g
Tr. These routes are often busy with people in transient and thus any gap on these routes would be
considered significant. MB Operations, LLC, 107 F. Supp. 2d 108. T Mobile s tower would be so
close to the highway that it would have been seen from it. Z.B.A. Hr g Tr. This would eliminate any
gap in wireless services to the large amount of people in transit. In Omnipoint, the Court ordered that
the town do what was necessary to permit a wireless service tower to be placed because closing the
gap for those in transit was important. Therefore, because the Omnipoint Court established a gap
affecting a highway is significant, our case requires the same result because without T Mobile s tower
being erected near the highway, Claremont would have a significant gap in wireless

Bismarck And Kaiser Wilhelm s Foreign Policy
Maya Epstein Mr. LeRoy Honors History 1 21 October 2015 1. Bismarck and Kaiser Wilhelm were
two German officials around the time of world war one. They both had foreign policies and they were
both pretty different. Bismarck s foreign policy had many aims. One of the aims was to leave
territorial expansion behind. He unified Germany and to do so had to incorporate many other states
into Prussia. He was also very much in favor of peace instead of war. He also never tried to strengthen
the naval forces of Germany especially not to ruin the relationship with England. Next, he decided to
keep France isolated as well as friendless so that could not start a war as revenge. He also focused on
Germany s relationship with Austria and Russia. He also distrusted Italy. Kaiser Wilhelm s foreign
policy differed from Bismarck s in many ways. Whereas Bismarck did things based on logic Kaiser
Wilhelm did things more based on emotion. This resulted in incoherence and inconsistency in the
German relations with other nations. He wanted an empire that could rival the size of the british. He
also managed to alienate the English by aggressively expanding the navy. He was more aggressive and
wanted Germany to be the best. Their decisions were significant to World War one in many ways. One
of the ways was it fueled European tension prior to the war. The different countries did not like some
the things either of the leaders were doing, and that did not help much. Also, because of the already

Protestant Reformatio Religion
The first source I chose to assess was the Swiss Gothic Iron Chamber Clock, 1600 s the mechanics of
the clock is still a very important attribute to modern European history; although it is dated 200 years
before what can be perceived to be its relevance in a sociological sense,it can be considered vital in
explaining the key concept, which is modernity; particularly caged and chambered clocks. The source
represents a seismic shift in the pre modern world becoming disenchanted from religion and being as
morally true and right 1 this can be seen actively in the religious sects such as Quakerism in the 16th
century believing that they were part of the true (Christian Church) 2 in the ways the acted and lived
their lives .The 16th and 17th century saw the emergence of the Protestant ... Show more content on

This all shows a move towards a modern society; Cesar Daly s Paris Architect c.1840 view of the idea
of iron chambers is evident , it supports the idea of disenchantment and secularisation occuring due to
the powers of the new age of science and the realisation of their being no need of influence from the
architect of the world as it is now engineers and architects who erect thousands of factories
3suggesting that it is not the supernatural who has impact but mankind itself.Another more recent
example of the effects of early modernization which helps to explain the modern view that humans are
now superior human beings and how religion has become one of many alternatives is Poyet s La Tete
de l aventuer meaning the head of the inventor this is another later example that can be used to explain
the shift towards

Air Defense History
The Air Defense Artillery is a necessary branch of the US Army today. Its complex weapon systems
and highly trained service members accomplish its mission to deter enemy air threats. From its birth,
many didn t consider it to be a necessary part of the US military. For many years Air Defense
struggled to prove itself worthy. The branch has adapted its technology through the years to counter
advances in technology, and produced a Medal of Honor recipient. Although, Air Defense has not
been actively used in every US conflict, it has carved a place for itself among the best of the US
military. With the invention of the aircraft, the United States military had to quickly produce a new
method to defeat this new threat. Field Artillery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this ever changing environment and in order to protect the interest in the United States, the military
and government contractors have teamed up in order to make state of the art communication systems
and guided missiles with global positioning system assistance. After these upgrades to defend against
new age threats like Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, the United States Government have fielded the
equipment to the Air Defense units in order to provide protection. The fielding has be seen in Japan,
Korea, Afghanistan, U.A.E, Italy, Germany, along with a few other countries. With these advances
there have been amazing results on the battle field, as in expedient reactions when reacting to indirect
artillery fire to creating an all in one system known as the Iron Dome which is in use in Israel. In this
new technological era, Air Defense is playing a bigger role than before because of the ability to
communicate to other units with the same system as well as to prevent fratricide within the battle
field. The Air Defense branch also uses radars on the electromagnetic spectrum in order to tell exactly
where an aircraft is at in the sky in a three dimensional

  • 2. How Did Technology Affect The Development Of The Vietnam War Technological advancements have played a crucial role in prospering a country s economic and social standing. Looking at it from a resourceful perspective, a country heading into war puts a strain on the nation s resources due to the high demand of goods. Generally speaking, wars do, however, accelerate the technological development of a nation in order to adapt to the needs of the military. Prior to the start of the Vietnam war which began in 1955 1975 technological equipment such as the helicopter, airpower, infantry weapons, booby traps, and anti aircraft were not around. Only until the start of the war, we began to see an advancement in equipment. These improvements have altered the lives of citizens both on a large and a small scale. The Vietnam war was a lengthy war that lasted for approximately 20 years. The war was between northern and southern Vietnam against communist beliefs. Northern Vietnam was pro communism and so were its allies Viet Cong. Southern Vietnam was anti communist and was allied with the United States. The war began in 1954 following the upcoming of Ho Chi Minh and his communist Viet Minh party in North Vietnam. The reason for the U.S involvement in the war was due to the fear of the domino effect where one country falls to communism and the surrounding countries follow. Prior the to the Vietnamese war, the world s two superpowers (the United States and the Soviet Union) were involved in the cold war. The cold war was more or a less a state of ... The Hutu and the Tutsi have a violent history dating back to 1959 when the Hutus overthrew the Tutsi king appointed by the Belgian colonizers. This resulted in years of political and economic disruption and culminated in 1994 to a state orchestrated genocide which led to the deaths of ¾ of the Tutsi population as well as about 30% of the Twa. • 10. Negative Effects Of Social Media On Children Negative Effects of Social Media and Children Technology has become very popular with children; more adults are minimizing the age in which they are supplying their children with technological devices such as smartphones. As parents, we feel by giving children such technology at an early age that we are essentially providing an advantage when in fact we are doing the opposite. Exposing your children to technology at such an early age and they have access to social media makes them prone to health issues, social issues, and most importantly dangers that could lead to death. Social media opens the doors to communication to people that a child probably would not speak to in real life. Predators can disguise themselves as children to chat, exchange pictures, and learn information about your child. Sometimes, the predators may even try to meet your child to hurt them or even learn their whereabouts to kidnap them. Different options on smartphones such as GPS gives your child s location making it easier for predators to find their prey. In real life, your children may not speak to strangers but on social media and the internet, they are probably more naïve and trustful. Social media also exposes your child to cyberbullying from classmates and sometimes people they do not even know. Many children have experienced some form of cyberbullying. Cyberbullies may say meaner things through the computer or phone than what they would speak to in direct contact because most comments are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Usefulness and Reliability of Information Provided By... An ongoing concern in financial reporting is the usefulness and reliability of information provided by corporations. The financial accounting standard board defines usefulness as the information that is useful for the users in decision making (FASB, 2011). Reliability is inferred when the information is verified, objective, and can be relied on. Therefore, Statement of Financial Accounting Standards No. 157 standardizes the valuation and disclosure of fair value for assets and liabilities in order to achieve both usefulness and reliability. The reasoning for the hierarchy was due to the inconsistency in previous definitions and guidance (FASB, 1992). Introduction to Fair Value Hierarchy To begin, SFAS defines fair value as the value ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... SFAS Relating to the Conceptual Framework The framework for measuring fair value is easy to understand and follow, and relates to the conceptual framework. As stated earlier the preferred measure of fair value is the market approach, because the prices are observable. For this reason the standard recognizes the need for relevant, reliable, and comparable information in order for users to make better decisions about the current financial position of a company. Financial readers are aware of the valuing measurement used to calculate the fair value, whether the measurement were derived from an observable or unobservable input. The measurement establishes the existence of reliable and relevance qualitative factors that make accounting information useful for decision making (Barbera, 2007). If it were observable then the value derived can be researched and verified. However, if it were unobservable then the user must read the disclosures which will be discussed later in the research paper, and determine the reliability of the internally generated measurement. In return it can be understood that the level 1 inputs are more reliable and relevant than the other two levels. In addition, the fair value hierarchy also enhances the comparability and consistency of information among companies due to following practices: all companies must ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. African American Culture In Ralph Ellison s The Invisible Man American culture had already dominated across the nation by the 1930 s; however, the cherished traditions of African Americans also began to flourish through the development of their remarkable presence in the city of Harlem, New York. Ralph Ellison utilizes his perspective on this rise of African American culture to depict American society during this era, in his 1952 novel, The Invisible Man. His view on the time is comprised of the prejudice actions against African Americans and the prevalence of segregation between blacks and whites. Subsequently, Ellison depicts the effects of these actions in the African American society of Harlem, New York through symbolic features, in order to display how black stereotypes were a part of the mindset of the typical white American. Initially, Ellison uses the sambo doll to symbolize these black stereotypes and constant degrading power of prejudice among the African American societies in the Unites States during the 1930 s. The sambo doll is mentioned in the instance in which the narrator is looking at a items being sold by a man he knows, Clifton. Until he takes a closer look at the doll, he doesn t realize its intended purpose and listens to the seller say, shake him, shake him, you cannot break him For he s Sambo, the dancing, Sambo, the prancing, Sambo, the entrancing, Sambo Boogie Woogie paper doll. And all for twenty five cents, the quarter part of a dollar... Ladies and gentlemen, he ll bring you joy, step up and meet him, Sambo the... (Ellison 358). Through this symbol, Ellison shows how African Americans are just like puppet dolls used to entertain others, but can be controlled in one way or another, as they are essentially powerless compared to the whites. The term sambo , in specific, is used as a degrading term towards African American individuals since the time of slavery, so its reuse during this era gives the term an even more disheartening connotation. Even today, the use of Sambo Art is a dominant style of memorabilia in Harvard s Image of the Black in Western Art Archive . This archive contains around 26,000 images of the blacks in western times; however, gives off a racist impression as the images they are a part of, are lower quality forms of art ... • 14. Since The Beginning Of Human-Animal Interaction, There Since the beginning of human animal interaction, there has been a one sided power dynamic that cripples animal welfare for the egotistical goal of filling our human desires. Animals of all kinds die a painful death in order to become the burger on another obese child s plate, the fur coat for yet another greed driven member of the one percent, and for the lab testing for the perfume of another heartless person. Humans have turned a blind eye to many a tragedy in the past, yet the injustice against animals is one that is overlooked each and everyday. The entire world has convinced itself that it the act of killing animals for any reason is justified with the anthropocentric alibi that nothing matters but human comfort and expansion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As we kill the cow to make burgers, we deny his own interests in sacrifice of our own superficial immoral demands. Another reason that it is immoral to kill and torture animals for our own gain is the belief that animals have their own intrinsic value. This value is present whether we choose to see it or not in all species. Though some in favor of speciesism may argue that it is only immoral to kill certain species of animals, it is actually wrong for all species to be killed because all species are equal in value. This intrinsic value is present in all animals and they must be respected for it. Regan transcribes animals that concern us (the ones that are eaten and trapped, for example), they, too, must be viewed as the experiencing subjects of a life with inherent value of their own (Regan 112). Humans may claim that no animal could share this inherent value. However, this self centered viewpoint is blatantly wrong. To say this ignores members of our own species who are not as intelligent, physically fit, or beautiful as society s standard. Yet, we do not condemn these beings to a torturous death. Speciesism is present in our minds whether we choose to accept it or not. We ignore the failures of certain members of our species simply because they are Homo sapiens, but we rob animals of their intrinsic value without a second thought. Regan goes on to say that All who have inherent value have it equally, whether they be human animals or not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. The And Authority Of The New Testament Canon The traditional interpretation of the development and authority of the New Testament canon is often a topic of debate and scrutiny; however, Dr. Michael J. Kruger provided an excellent, well written justification of how the New Testament canon came to be the 27 books known today. Kruger is President and the Samuel C. Patterson Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. Other publications include The Gospel of the Savior, The Question of Canon, The Heresy of Orthodoxy, Gospel Fragments, and A Biblical Theological Introduction to the New Testament. His written work has led him to be known as a scholar in the origins of the New Testament Canon, in particular writings related to the New Testament Canon. For centuries people have been perplexed regarding the books of the New Testament canon. Many Christians have accepted the 27 books in the New Testament Canon but often cannot provide adequate justification regarding how the canon was established. In Canon Revisited: Establishing the Origins and Authority of the New Testament Books, Michael J. Kruger provides readers with a glimpse of this tough question and his response. • 17. Human Understanding As A Means By The World Can Be... Philosophers have always been concerned to establish a means by which the world can be understood objectively. The problem is that it is difficult to establish the extent to which the physical world exists independently of perception (Brock and Mares, 2007, p. 34). Philosophers identify a perceptual barrier preventing knowledge of whether or not what can be perceived is an accurate or literal representation of the true nature of reality; a barrier known in philosophical discourse as the veil of perception (Bennett, 1968, p. 98). In 1689 Locke wrote An Essay Concerning Human Understanding as a means of explaining this barrier, using a theory categorised by philosophers as a form of representational realism (Brock Mares, 2007, p. 49). In order to analyse the potential (or otherwise) of this approach, a philosopher needs to understand what Locke intended by his thesis of primary, secondary and tertiary qualities and consider the extent to which these may be inherently part of an object, and thereby the degree to which that object might correspond in reality with the way it is perceived. Locke s work has been significantly critiqued (either to extend the ideas, or to refute them) ever since its publication. Currently the technologically augmented insights of information theory responses to Locke s Essay use scientific evidence as a basis for both accepting and refuting Locke s theory, making it a perennially stimulating subject. In the central African country of Rwanda, a long brewing tension broke out in a battle between the Tutsi and Hutu. Lasting approximately 100 days, the conflict forever changed the lives of 40% of the Rwandan population. About 800,000 Tutsi were killed and many refugees fled the country ( Rwandan Genocide ). It was a grueling fight, based on land and power, that all started with a lopsided hierarchy created by the Belgians that loomed over the heads of the Rwandan people. The Problems Of Obedience And Authority Evangelina Venturini Colleen Harvel English F6974 October 15, 2014 The Problems of Obedience to Authority People will do about anything to stay out of trouble when it comes to someone with authority that cannot be argued with. Stanley Milgram did an experiment on the topic of obedience to authority; he wanted to know how ordinary people could do horrible things if forced to by someone of authority. Obedience to authority is instinctual for human beings, there has and will always be someone with a higher authority than ourselves. How can normal, ordinary people that think of themselves or are thought of as genuinely good people do things that they know is morally wrong when told to do so by someone of authority? That is the question that Milgram asked himself when he started his experiments. The main point of the experiment was to test why people listen and act on what people of authority tell them to do. Milgram took ordinary people and proved that most of the general populace is willing to physically hurt another human being if provoked by someone in a position of authority. This causes a person to question as Encina does, Why were those who challenged authority in the minority? So entrenched is obedience it may void personal codes of conduct (Encina). In the experiment Milgram picked people off of the streets and tested them on how far they would go to hurt someone when instructed to do so by someone of authority. The way they interact with each other is a determinant of what kind of behavioral characteristic each horse possess. For example, there are certain behaviors that can determine if a horse is dominant versus submissive or whether a horse is aggressive versus peaceful. Curry et al. Horses are on a schedule with limited time spent in the stables and time spent roaming the fields. Observing what they do with that time can be excellent predictors of behavior. Depriving horses of company can also reduce the amount of aggressive encounters and negative behaviors. Single stabled living arrangements have been beneficial in cases of horses that display high levels of aggression. One argument that Fureix et al. Italian harpsichords differed from others in that they normally were made of extremely thin wood and then placed in a stronger outer case of the same shape. A second important school of building developed in the 16th and 17th centuries in Flanders, centered around the influential Ruckers family of builders. Violent images on television and in movies may seem real to young children. Viewing violent images can traumatize innocent children (NTVS, 1 2). There is a strategy to help the children understand that what they are watching is not educational. You can tell your child that you are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. T-Mobile Research Papers T Mobile established a significant gap in it s wireless services in Claremont. A significant gap is established when a large amount of people is affected by the gap in wireless services such as on a highway or interstate. MB Operations, LLC, 107 F. Supp. 2d 108. T Mobile first established a gap in wireless services by focusing on remote users rather than wanting to place the tower in the center of the town. Omnipoint reiterates the importance of having a wireless service tower erected near a busy highway or route. MB Operations, LLC, 107 F. Supp. 2d 108. In Omnipoint, there was a significant gap in services on Route 2 and 2A. Like Omnipoint, T Mobile wants to erect its wireless service tower on highly traveled I 89 to close a significant gap. Z.B.A. Hr g Tr. These routes are often busy with people in transient and thus any gap on these routes would be considered significant. MB Operations, LLC, 107 F. Supp. 2d 108. T Mobile s tower would be so close to the highway that it would have been seen from it. Z.B.A. Hr g Tr. This would eliminate any gap in wireless services to the large amount of people in transit. In Omnipoint, the Court ordered that the town do what was necessary to permit a wireless service tower to be placed because closing the gap for those in transit was important. Therefore, because the Omnipoint Court established a gap affecting a highway is significant, our case requires the same result because without T Mobile s tower being erected near the highway, Claremont would have a significant gap in wireless ... • 43. Bismarck And Kaiser Wilhelm s Foreign Policy Maya Epstein Mr. LeRoy Honors History 1 21 October 2015 1. Bismarck and Kaiser Wilhelm were two German officials around the time of world war one. They both had foreign policies and they were both pretty different. Bismarck s foreign policy had many aims. One of the aims was to leave territorial expansion behind. He unified Germany and to do so had to incorporate many other states into Prussia. He was also very much in favor of peace instead of war. He also never tried to strengthen the naval forces of Germany especially not to ruin the relationship with England. Next, he decided to keep France isolated as well as friendless so that could not start a war as revenge. He also focused on Germany s relationship with Austria and Russia. He also distrusted Italy. Kaiser Wilhelm s foreign policy differed from Bismarck s in many ways. Whereas Bismarck did things based on logic Kaiser Wilhelm did things more based on emotion. This resulted in incoherence and inconsistency in the German relations with other nations. He wanted an empire that could rival the size of the british. He also managed to alienate the English by aggressively expanding the navy. He was more aggressive and wanted Germany to be the best. Their decisions were significant to World War one in many ways. One of the ways was it fueled European tension prior to the war. The different countries did not like some the things either of the leaders were doing, and that did not help much. Also, because of the already ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Protestant Reformatio Religion The first source I chose to assess was the Swiss Gothic Iron Chamber Clock, 1600 s the mechanics of the clock is still a very important attribute to modern European history; although it is dated 200 years before what can be perceived to be its relevance in a sociological sense,it can be considered vital in explaining the key concept, which is modernity; particularly caged and chambered clocks. The source represents a seismic shift in the pre modern world becoming disenchanted from religion and being as morally true and right 1 this can be seen actively in the religious sects such as Quakerism in the 16th century believing that they were part of the true (Christian Church) 2 in the ways the acted and lived their lives .The 16th and 17th century saw the emergence of the Protestant ... This all shows a move towards a modern society; Cesar Daly s Paris Architect c.1840 view of the idea of iron chambers is evident , it supports the idea of disenchantment and secularisation occuring due to the powers of the new age of science and the realisation of their being no need of influence from the architect of the world as it is now engineers and architects who erect thousands of factories 3suggesting that it is not the supernatural who has impact but mankind itself.Another more recent example of the effects of early modernization which helps to explain the modern view that humans are now superior human beings and how religion has become one of many alternatives is Poyet s La Tete de l aventuer meaning the head of the inventor this is another later example that can be used to explain the shift towards ... Its complex weapon systems and highly trained service members accomplish its mission to deter enemy air threats. From its birth, many didn t consider it to be a necessary part of the US military. For many years Air Defense struggled to prove itself worthy. The branch has adapted its technology through the years to counter advances in technology, and produced a Medal of Honor recipient. In this ever changing environment and in order to protect the interest in the United States, the military and government contractors have teamed up in order to make state of the art communication systems and guided missiles with global positioning system assistance. After these upgrades to defend against new age threats like Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, the United States Government have fielded the equipment to the Air Defense units in order to provide protection. The fielding has be seen in Japan, Korea, Afghanistan, U.A.E, Italy, Germany, along with a few other countries. With these advances there have been amazing results on the battle field, as in expedient reactions when reacting to indirect artillery fire to creating an all in one system known as the Iron Dome which is in use in Israel. In this new technological era, Air Defense is playing a bigger role than before because of the ability to communicate to other units with the same system as well as to prevent fratricide within the battle field. The Air Defense branch also uses radars on the electromagnetic spectrum in order to tell exactly where an aircraft is at in the sky in a three dimensional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
