Immigrants In Emma Lazarus s The New Colossus
In The New Colossus, Emma Lazarus writes about the Statue of Liberty, painting it out as the beacon
for hope, prosperity, and freedom to those wishing to start anew. If they are the wretched refuse or the
huddled masses yearning to breathe free , she invites them to come to the United States, where from
the Mother of Exiles Glows [a] world wide welcome . Sadly, many people were anti immigrant and
anti foreigner, believing that most immigrants will only bring harm to the economy, will only be a
detriment to the improvement of the nation, and will only have a negative impact on the nation s
social/moral standings. These two views of the late 19th century were very contradictory. On one
hand, the nation was created by immigrants from Europe, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
7864. His reasoning behind the veto was mainly the radical departure from our national policy relating
to immigration . He understood the true values of what the United States had always been, and what
their image was around the world to those that are in tough spots in life. He understood that the
nations had very divided sides when it came to immigration and that policies contradicted each other
here and there. He understood that some of the citizens wanted to restrict immigration to [protect] our
population against degeneration and saving our national peace and quiet from imported turbulence and
disorder , but he did not find those reasons strong enough. He saw past what was on the surface and
thought about the concerns in a different light. The requirement for immigrants to be able to read,
write, and then write 25 words of the Constitution in any language showed nothing of their character.
He noted that it only leads to misleading values and true ability to contribute to society, and if there
were more concerns than just illiteracy, such as physical or mental health, [those] causes should be
dealt with directly, instead of making illiteracy the pretext for exclusion . He even went as far as to
state that some of the best citizens are descendants from some of the first immigrants to the nation. He
expressed his thoughts, and

How Did Operation Barbarossa Invade Russia
1941: Operation Barbarossa
Russia tried to avoid war with Germany at the start of World War II, but this changed on June 22,
1941. Operation Barbarossa joined Russia into the World War II. This was the largest German military
attack, and unfortunately for the Russians, a very well planned operation. Operation Barbarossa s
name originated from the Holy Roman emperor, Fredrick Barbarossa, who set out to conquer the Holy
Land. This name was completely appropriate since the goal of Operation Barbarossa was to capture
the capitol of Russia, Moscow. Operation Barbarossa was an attack by the Germans to join Russia into
the war with Germany.
The plan of Operation Barbarossa started in July of 1940. Hitler decided he wanted to make an attack
on Russia. He saw a threat to his oil supply in Romania who was one of Germany s allies. Hitler
signed the first order of Barbarossa on December 18, 1940. Germany was breaking a non aggression
pact with Russia on August 23, 1939 with this operation. Although, it wasn t just Germany who was
paranoid; Russia was also suspicious of Germany. Germany s bold idea of attacking Russia wasn t just
to take over Russian territory, but destroy the Red Army (Soviet army) with large battles and
enormous amounts of demolition.
After much strategy and months of preparation, Germany invaded Russia on June 22, 1941. Germany
was well prepared with three separate army division in the North, South, and Central areas of Russia s
eastern border. Germany had about three

Injuries In Health Care
Working in the health care field can be extremely rewarding, but it s not without risk. Health care has
one of the highest rates of workplace injuries of any industry. Law Office of Morrison, Webster
Carlton, workers compensation attorneys with offices in Springfield and Joplin, MO, explain that,
although these injuries are often not as dramatic and obvious as those suffered in other professions,
they can be extremely serious, and result in long term pain or even permanent disability. Because the
results of these injuries are not always obvious, and are often repetitive use injuries that can t be traced
to a single event, collecting compensation through the workers compensation can be difficult and
frustrating, which is why it s so important

Essay On Civil War In The Middle East
Many people have died for the United States. They died for freedom, liberty, and justice. Most
American soldiers who died in the past 15 years, died in the Middle East. To reduce the death toll the
United States should not involve themselves in the Middle East for three reasons. First, the United
States risks the lives of soldiers and civilians in the Middle East. Moreover, the United States can be
targeted by terrorists from the Middle East. In addition, the United States do not have very strong
relationships in the Middle East.
In the first place, most conflicts in the Middle East have caused the United States to intervene. This
puts many American soldiers and Middle Eastern civilians in danger.
Furthermore, in the Middle East, many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most people may think the United States possess the strongest weapons in the world. Carl Bildt of the
Washington Post, wrote an article relating to Donald Trump s foreign policy and he mentioned, Iran
has a ballistic missile program that is rightly seen as threatening by its neighbors. But it is hardly alone
in this. Israel s ballistic missile arsenal is likely to be far more sophisticated. And though this fact is
little discussed, Saudi Arabia has acquired Chinese ballistic missiles with regional reach (Bildt). From
the quote, one can assume the Middle Eastern countries can wreak havoc on their neighbors. If the
countries used them it would result in many more casualties of soldiers and civilians. That event
would have the potential of starting a third World War.
Involvement of the United States in the Middle East has caused several terrorist attacks not only in the
United States but, all around the world. Paradoxically, with American involvement in the Middle East,
terrorism continues.
Likewise the United States has spent billions of dollars fighting terrorism. Dr. Emile Nakhleh wrote an
article regarding diplomatic relations with Iran and at one point he said, America has spent billions of
dollars fighting al Qaeda and its affiliated groups and more recently the Islamic State (ISIS or IS) with
little to show for it (Nakhleh). This quote shows the United States and its allies have

Pituitary Gland Disorders Case Study
Anterior pituitary gland disorders Pathophysiology
The pituitary gland is located at the base of the brain in a protective pocket of the sphenoid bone. The
pituitary gland is about 1 cm in diameter and is divided into the anterior lobe and posterior lobe. The
anterior lobe is responsible for secreting major hormones that regulates most body functions. Their
secretion is regulated by hypothalamic releasing and inhibitory factors delivered via portal capillaries,
and by negative feedback inhibition of the cognate hormones produced by target endocrine glands
such as the thyroid and adrenal cortex (Lewis, 2011). Etiology

nasal catheter and packing in place for at least one day after surgery. Appropriate testing would have
to be done such as labs, ekg and hormone level checks. Patient should have a visual field test for a

The nature of humankind has been explored endlessly. Human nature is the strangest thing on earth.
Sometimes, some of them behave like they are the nicest and sometimes, at they are at their worst
behavior. Human nature depends solely on the circumstances around them. Some chose to remain
calm when they are in any trouble, but then at the same time, some chose to be aggressive. Some
changes themselves according to the environment around them, yet some just chose to be how they
are. Some chose to be themselves around people, yet some just don t have much guts to show real
them selves. Some like to be ruled yet some like to be a ruler. Every individual on this earth is

Obviously, if we are teaching someone something, then it really means that they don t know that stuff
and if they don t know how to behave then how could be all good and pure? That proves that they are
born evil and then it depends on them after that if they still chose to be evil or be good. Same is the
case with jack and most of the other guys. In this novel, golding William left the boys on their without
any parent guide to see if they will still be good but they turned out to be evil. That explains that we
are evil when we are born because till then there was no one to teach us the good things. We are only
good and nice, because there are people who teaches us and take care of our bad behavior if we will be
left alone with no adults, then we will learn no manners and we will remain evil and selfish. Jack
doesn t care what others have to say or what they have to do, he will just do what he thinks is right.
Throughout the novel, he always gave importance to his own work. For example, when he was
successful at hunting for the first time. Just to get the hunting done, he took all the boys with him, who
were watching the fire signal. He didn t care that the fire will go out which his chief didn t want to
happen. He just wanted to do hunting and be successful at it and it resulted in that ship came near the
island and was gone again just

Analyzing the Teaching Profession
Paramount importance in the treatment and education of man has the position and work of teaching.
The teacher has always been the mainstay of intellectual and cultural progress of any society and the
cornerstone of personal happiness every man. So, it be perceived the importance of this profession for
man and society. It is no coincidence that everybody who exercise this profession should be at alert
and disseminates the values and knowledge in children with the best way. This requires a constant
struggle, who leads to professional development. But how does it achieve? The professional
development starts and ends from school class. Every teacher is confronted with human resources and
invests on it. Examines each student as individually and as a whole. Identifies specificities, knowledge
gaps and skills, which students have, and try to adjust your learning and teaching to become more
efficient. To achieve this required a conscious updating of his professional knowledge and improving
of his professional competences. Occasionally organized various courses / workshops related to
education. These workshops are an opportunity for teachers to enhance their knowledge and
presenting new teaching methods, which can utilize in the classroom. It also organized training
sessions or seminars in which teachers and / or researchers presented the results of their research
which took part in their schools, and discuss problems of education. Through this constructive

Ebola Virus Disease Epidemic Summary
The airline restrictions harmed West Africa s already fragile government by hampering the flow of aid
and trade. The Analysis of the West African Ebola Virus Disease Epidemic shines a light on the need
for reform in the Global Health System by emphasizing the failures of the government officials and
organizations. Unity opens many opportunities for a stronger government as Friedman and Gostin
emphasized in their article. Friedman and Gostin argue that the government failed to unity by saying
states imposed travel restrictions and quarantines contrary to the demands of WHO and the United
Nations (UN), hindering the response of aid and travel, but critics would argue that every state has
their own security interest that are seen as safety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unity between all agencies and governments will allow for everyone s voice to be heard. Group
compromise and discussion is possible when all systems are working together for a common goal;
such as, overcoming an epidemic. Forming a strong framework requires accountable leaders to work
constructively with other organizations as equal partners. When organizations unite, leaders are held
responsible for their global practices, motivating action rather than hesitation. Accountable leaders are
essential in a strong government because they take action and motivate change. When a government
has weak leaders, actions are postponed and hesitation causes delays in funding, education, and
volunteers. Civil groups, along with other non governmental organizations, need their opinions heard.
Uniting together all forces, not only creates a stronger, trusting bond between countries, but also
creates an unstoppable fighting force against epidemics. In the article, Gostin and Friedman
acknowledged the contributions a non governmental agency, Médecins Sans Frontiéres, made to help
control the raging epidemic. A representative of Médecins Sans Frontiéres said without accountable
leaders there is no one to take responsibility which is what he claims to be a major issue in the Ebola
crisis (1904). Other government agencies; such as, Human Resources and the United

Persuasive Essay Why Do We Dream
There is a question that has baffled many psychologists and curious minds for centuries the question is
why do we dream? Do we dream to save our mind from insanity and stress or is it because it s a
natural process? There is one thing for certain though most people dream, the question is can they
remember it. The truth is all creatures can enter a certain type of REM sleep but it s uncertain if they
experience dreams on a human plane of thought. When we enter REM sleep our Rapid Eye Movement
stage of sleep the deepest part of our sleep, the human body undergoes a temporary paralysis to stop
the sleeping person from potential harmful movement. The dreaming process usually happens in this
stage, but has been reported in NREM sleep.

Reflection Paper On Nutrition
Nutrition can be part of a major role of improving your overall body composition and health. I decided
to write about the topic nutrition because, we were assigned to track our eating habits on Super
Tracker for seven days. They set up for you, the recommended portion size, based on your height, age
and weight. Super Tracker taught me a valuable lesson about keeping portion sizes in mind, and
checking labels because just because the label says it has fiber or something, it doesn t necessary mean
it does; it can have more added sugars than fibers. Now, I know how much calories I should take in
everyday and what I need to improve on because I had lot of nutrients, mineral and vitamins that was
under the recommend amount that I needed. With this Super Tracker website, it made me realize that I
need to eat healthier, because I am at risk of having lots of health problems in the future, if I continue
to eat the way I do. Looking at my report really made me realize that maybe because I was so
low/over on mostly everything, that therefore it is the cause of my daily headaches and why I feel
weak and dizzy mostly every day of the week. The report indicated that I was over on saturated fats,
under my calorie intake, low on dairy and fruit intake and many more. As I was doing my research,
eating more fruits will improve my sources of nutrients, including potassium, fiber, vitamin A, vitamin
C and folate. The nutrients in fruit are vital for health and maintenance for my body. The potassium in
fruit can reduce my risk of heart disease and stroke. Also, according to my dietary report, I am over
with my saturated fats, as I stated above. Eating too much total fat (especially saturated fat and trans
fat), cholesterol, or sodium may increase my risk of certain chronic diseases, such as heart disease,
some cancers, or high blood pressure. Therefore, because of how badly my report came out, it was an
eye opener. I want to find ways on how to improve my nutrition and maintain it and what the better
outcomes are for maintaining good nutrition. In order to improve my nutrition, I will need to change
my diet by taking small steps every day. My dietary nutrition report stated that I am over my added
sugars, so to decrease my

Critics frequently use the term tar sands, whereas industry and governments lean more towards the oil
sands. This is a result of the nuances associated with the word tar as being something that is dirty or
less valuable than oil and more importantly, the abandonment of the word tar sands comes from an
insistent and well funded strategy to frame oil in a positive light to increase profits for the big oil
companies and provincial governments involved. With the adoption of the oil sands into the everyday
vernacular, the tar sands controversial and threatening characteristics become more and more hidden.

Abstract:
This case study examines the community relations efforts of Nike Inc. This project gives an overview
of the company and shows how the community relations programs can be developed globally. It also
consists of the comparison between Nike and Toms. Finally this case study also includes and insight
on an interview, suggestions and an evaluation.
Nike is a multinational corporation founded by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman in 1964. Nike
produces, markets and sells athletic footwear, apparel and other accessories. Even though they have a
great reputation with their products, Nike is not seen as a good corporate citizen. Nike does not have
enough campaigns that they do globally, especially in Asia after allegedly being accused of Violating
Labour Laws in 1996. Nike was involved in Child labour. The only active campaign they have
running globally is the Active Schools Campaign.
There are many strategies and tactics that Nike could use to build back their reputation and regain the
consumer base they lost when this issue started. With the large social media platforms Nike has, They
are able to show the campaigns that they do and the causes that they believe in.
Toms being a smaller company compared to Nike, do so much more for the community they have

Analysis Of Shakespeare s Play Julius Caesar By William...
With the rise and fall of certain genres in theatre, the ever changing dramatical theories put to action
and the common view of entertainment and fashion over the years, a lot has changed in theatre
practise since Shakespeare s time. This essay will consider how William Shakespeare s play Julius
Caesar may have been performed during the Elizabethan era and how the differences in process,
scriptwriting, space and more may vary from today s recreations of his work. This should help to
better understand and analyse the play itself and may even influence how we interpret it ourselves
both in text and onstage. The first thing to note about Shakespeare s work is the lack of detailed or
overly descriptive stage directions in the original ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To keep with you at meals, comfort your bed And talk to you sometimes? Dwell I but in the Suburbs
Of your good pleasure? If it be no more, Portia is Brutus harlot, not his wife. ( )
As we can see here the editorial stage directions added in the 2010 Macmillan version of the script by
Jonathan Bate and Eric Rasmussen are the only one s present, meaning that when the production was
originally staged there were no stage directions on the folio for the actors to follow. However,
Shakespeare leaves subtle little clues and suggestions within the text itself, in this particular example
the words upon my knees indicate the action. This allows the actors to organise entrances/exits
themselves depending on the location and cast of the production. Often these hints can be found in the
formatting of the verse the placement of a grammatical pause, the fragmentation of the iambic
pentameter and other such things. ( )
This is relevant to the original performance conditions as it had a direct effect on rehearsals and
staging. Over time stage directions have become more descriptive and extensive, with the author
having a much more detailed image of what they want a scene to look like or the characters to be like.
When talking of the rehearsal process itself, the putting together of the piece, Shakespeare s work was

Essay on Performance Enhancing Drugs Among Athletes
Since the dawn of the twenty first century, performance enhancing drugs have become a religious
practice in the lives of some sport figures. The use of these supplements have given athletes an edge to
perform at maximum capability. Most major athletes all agree on the fact that the competitive drive is
intensely fierce. Despite all, most athletes have high hopes of attaining prestigious awards, a full ride
college scholarship or the once in a lifetime opportunity to play for a professional team. In such
instances, the use of performance enhancing drugs has become increasingly conventional (Athletes

With more oxygen flowing through blood and muscle, the better the athlete performs. Any athlete who
uses a performance enhancing drug to deliver more oxygen to their muscles will perform for longer
periods of time throughout the physical activity. Another likely reason an athlete would use
performance enhancing drugs is simply to stimulate the body (Athletes Drug Use). Athletes constantly
need to keep their body stimulated to simply reduce fatigue, gain assertion, and maintain aggression
(Athletes Drug Use). Which is really not much different from a person drinking coffee in the morning
to perk up. Importantly, athletes would use performance enhancing drugs to help mask injuries
(Athletes Drug Use). For example, if a wide receiver breaks his finger or sprains his knee during a
game, there are two options: one, the wide receiver can be taken out of the game or two, the athletic
trainer can give the wide receiver an injection to take the pain away, allowing him to return to the
remainder of the game. With the reasons for taking performance enhancing drugs in mind, this essay
should mention the many categories of performance enhancing drugs available on the market today,
including, growth hormones (HGH), pain killers, supplements, and steroids. In all levels of sports,
athletes all have one common goal, success. Athletes heavily rely on the use of these substances in
hopes of gaining college scholarships, and furthering their career by playing for

with the use of the electric car technology.
i. Benefits anticipated for the development of electric cars
The developments of electric cars are associated with numerous benefits to the different stakeholders
who are involved in their operations. Among the benefits include the environmental benefits where the
use of electric cars has eliminated emission of dangerous gases that are emitted by fuel based cars. The
use of electric cars also has numerous health benefits to the public as some of the gases that are

The Events Of Temperance Movement
Part 1: The Event; Temperance Movement
Second Great Awakening was not focused simply on promotion individual conversions; it was also
intended to reform human society, which was said by Lyman Beecher a champion of evangelic
Christian revivalism (Tindall and Shi 508). The United States, which was known for a nation of
separation and church and state was swept with religious revivals during 1790 to 1830s known as the
Second Great Awakening. From the Second Great Awakening in 1842, the United States was filled
with different reform movement which was led by dreamers and activists who saw social injustice or
immorality in the American society and wanted to fight to correct the sinful events that s been
happening (Tindall and Shin 528 529). One of the most widespread from all the reform movement that

Australian Lifestyles And Living Conditions
Australian s lifestyles and living conditions can largely be effect by the levels of unemployment and
employment. A labour market is a place in which employees and workers interact with each other, in
this situation the employers will seek to hire the best workers, who aim to complete a job to the
standards set by those employing them. Labour markets can be developed by three basic conditions,
these are, stronger market conditions, weaker market conditions and ideal market conditions. If there
is increased demand for labour by firms and large business, the market conditions will getting
stronger. This can be seen through unemployment rates, of which is Australia is currently around 5.7
percent and gradually decreasing. This relatively low figure displays the need for workers with an
expanding number of job opportunities along with a decrease in monthly hours worked. With more
people bring in a steady income the living conditions of these workers will increase, however one
could argue that this will also put those who are struggling to find work further behind. In future, it is
predicted that employment will continue to increase by almost 8,000 to 11,939,600 workers along
with the small increase in unemployment due to retirements. This will lead to improved living
conditions for the majority of Australians. The number of workers for businesses will increase
allowing them to expand the operations to cover a larger area. Participation rates is a measure of the

Comparing The Egyptians And The Mesopotamians Essay

Comparing the Egyptians and the Mesopotamians
Egyptians and the Mesopotamians were neolithic civilizations. They both grew crops and they both
relied on agriculture and had many rulers as time went on. We start at Egypt
In 3100 B.C and Mesopotamians at 5000 B.C (1). The Nile river was a key place for the start of the
Ancient Egyptian empire. Egyptians themselves were located near lower Egypt closeby the Nile Delta.
They then slowly moved up around upper egypt. With clear fertile and rich soil, agriculture was most
efficient and made the Ancient Egyptians very rich. Mesopotamians also had their own rivers known
as the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers which were rich in soil for farming. Mesopotamians were located
around Zagros Mountains and located inside the Persian gulf. Mesopotamians were Mediterraneans.
Egyptians and the Mesopotamians were very alike. Equal rights between men and women existed in
both of the empires societies. (2). This is important because the demographics of females were not
small in Ancient Egypt and Ancient Mesopotamia. Also, the religion of both empires were polytheistic
(Meaning many gods ) (2). Because the gods controlled Egypt and Mesopotamia through land and
power, people dedicated a large portion of their time to the gods. An example is that temples

Ethical Arguments Against Euthanasia
I will let my aunt chose to live or die! Euthanasia also medically termed as physician assisted suicide ,
is medically defined; by the Merriam Webster Dictionary as suicide by a patient facilitated by means
or information (as a drug prescription or indication of the lethal dosage) provided by a physician who
is aware of how the patient intends to use such means or information. Individuals all over the world
are living through this situation without being supported. With this being said the acceptance of this
will allow my aunt to not live through suffering from ovarian cancer. Although many deem euthanasia
wrong, it is medically ethical for physicians to assist terminal patient s choice to end their lives
because it exercises a patient s autonomy on living without suffering critically. Therefore, physicians
shall ethically support the allowing of euthanasia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on physician assisted suicide s history, it s an effectual topic to review to understand that
euthanasia became a topic to discuss around 400 B.C.. When the Hippocratic Oath by Father of
Medicine Greek physician Hippocrates existed. His ethical choice was to not give an individual deadly
medicine. During this time many places believed life was to precious to throw away. In contradiction
to not supporting the ethics of a physician to aid in an individual s death, other believed that it should
be allowed. Sir Thomas More is often quoted to be the first important Christian to recommend
physician assisted suicide. Throught the years many individuals have fought to go for or against the
moralities of choosing death when suffering critically. Till today it is still a subject of matter that s

Globe Theater History
The famous Globe Theater had history behind being built, an amazing structure, and tons of expenses.
The Globe Theater s history behind being built was based off the period of life that it was built in.
After the plague ended in the 1800s, there was a company of actors known as the Lord Chamberlain s
Men who needed a theatre to perform in. This group is where Shakespeare was first known to be part
of. Many theatres were unable to reopen in England after the plague ended. The group performed in
the Cross Keys Inn for a little while while looking for a theatre but there were restrictions for
performing inside of the city s limits. Shakespeare was the lead playwright for the group by the time
the plans for the Globe came about. This group of actors were not the only actors that were struggling
at the time because the Theatre, which was a main place for plays to be performed was closed after the
lease for the land had expired and the owner refused to renew the lease. This sent Cuthbert and
Richard Burbage, the sons of the original owner of the Theater who had died, into an outrage. They
decided to build a new playhouse located in Bankside of London (Wright 71 76). The theater became
famous for being the place where Shakespeare did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reusing the wood saved money for the Burbages but there was still the cost of renting or owning the
land that the theatre was on. The solution to this problem was having multiple shares of the land.
These shares were bought by Lord Chamberlain s Men like Shakespeare s father and the Burbage
brothers, who now owned the theatre. Actors owning the theatre that they acted in was something that
had never happened before this time. This gave the theatre an advantage since they could save money
by not having to pay rent. They also did not have to worry about being kicked off the land because this
was the permanent home (Morley

A Patient With Respiratory Acidosis Essay
a) In a patient with respiratory acidosis, the partial pressure of CO2 in the plasma (PCO2) rises above
normal levels of 40 mmHg (1). Airway resistance due to asthma, respiratory depression due to drug
use as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease all cause hypoventilation, lowering partial
pressure of plasma oxygen (PO2) to below its normal value of approximately 100 mm Hg (1) and can
lead to respiratory acidosis. The equation below describes the equation between CO2 and H2O with
H+ and HCO3 . According to the law of mass action, all reactions tend towards equilibrium, and any
disturbance in the amount of any of the products or reactants will shift the reaction in a direction
which leads to re establishment of equilibrium. If CO2 concentration rises, the new chemical
equilibrium will favour further production of both H+ and HCO3 through disassociation of H2CO3.
Each additional molecule of CO2 would lead to production of one molecule of H+ and HCO3 .
〖CO〗_2+H_2 O→ H_2 CO^3→H^++HCO_3^ (1).
Production of H+ will cause plasma pH to fall below 7.4. Normally, increases in H+ concentrations
are buffered mostly by haemoglobin, however buffers can only resist small changes in pH. The HCO3
levels increase slightly, but are likely to still remain within normal levels of 22 to 26 mEq/L. This is
because equilibrium changes in concentrations is slight compared to the large compensatory changes
(1). Renal mechanisms can assist in excreting H+ and reabsorbing HCO3 .

House On Mango Street Analysis
(hook) Written by Sandra Cisneros, The House on Mango Street is a beautiful coming of age story
from the perspective of a little Latina girl named Esperanza Cordero, who has just moved to a new
house on Mango Street with her family. The story follows Esperanza and the people she encounters
during her time on Mango Street as she struggles to find herself as an individual/her identity. During
the story, Esperanza discovers how her culture and social class affects her, how she relates to the roles
of women in her community, and how to process her hopes and dreams as she matures. These pieces
eventually come together in order to help Esperanza form her identity. The shabby old house on
Mango Street is all that Esperanza and her family can afford at the moment, as they are very poor.
Esperanza is happy that her family owns a house, but she often feels ashamed and embarrassed to live
in it. For example, one day, a nun that passes by asks Esperanza where she lives. When she points to
her house, the nun asks, You live there? The way she [says] it [makes] [her] feel like nothing. There.
[she] lived there. [She] [nods]. (1.10) The way that the nun says the word there makes Esperanza feel
very small, like there is something wrong with the house. Not only does Esperanza feel judged by
people in her community, she also feels judged by outsiders. Those who don t know any better come

Summary Of The Limits Of Friendship By Maria Konnikova
Maria Konnikova s essay The Limits of Friendship, analyzes the impact of social media on close
relationships, addressing the people impacted by social media use. This essay published in The New
Yorker, a weekly magazine with scholarly authors, to inform the public on social media s impact on
our lives. She finds that social media has created a dependency on technology and online interactions.
Konnikova strives to inform that social media is decreasing close relationships, and persuades that it
will impact our future. She argues on the impact of increased dependency on social media on the
Dunbar number, hindering the development of future generations. Konnikova succeeds using strong
logic and scientific reason as well as appealing to emotions; however, she fails to prove her credibility
over the topic and instead relies on the credibility of Robin Dunbar.
To develop her argument, Konnikova supplies the reader with logic by using real life examples. One
example being notifying the audience of the research that the Dunbar number correlates with brain
size because it is simple to understand that group size and brain size flow together (par 1). Konnikova
applies Dunbar s historical findings to validate the size of a standard group (par 4). Showing the
reader that the Dunbar number accurately functions in society. Another example is her use of
clarifying the Dunbar number by examining Christmas cards in relation to social networks (par 5).
This enables the reader to have an

Glenohumeral Joint Research Paper
The Glenohumeral Joint and its
Function Within the Human Body
The glenohumeral joint, or shoulder joint, is one of the human body s appendicular joints and boasts
the greatest ROM (range of motion) of any joint in the body. An appendicular joint is a joint that is
part of the appendicular skeleton which includes the pectoral girdle, pelvic girdle, and limb bones. The
appendicular joints typically have a larger range of motion, but due to this are often weaker than those
found in the axial skeleton. The glenohumeral joint is responsible for articulating movement of the
upper arm by way of pivoting the humerus at the point that it meets with the scapula. There are many
different classifications of joints within the human body and the glenohumeral joint is classified as a
ball and socket joint which is one of six different synovial joints present in the body. A synovial joint
is a joint that contains articular cartilage, joint capsules, and synovial membranes. A ball and socket
joint is a joint that can be described as a ball that fits into a cup shaped dock allowing motion in all
directions. This arrangement allows the bone to employ three different types of movement, angular,
rotation, and circumduction. This structure is what allows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is due in large part to the significant presence of a synovial membrane nestled between the ball
(humerus) and the socket (scapula). The synovial membrane is particular to freely movable joint
cavities and is a cushion between the two bones. As briefly mentioned previously, synovial joints
contain articular cartilage which covers bones at the joint , joint capsules a sac that covers the ends of
bones , and synovial membranes fluid that serves to reduce friction, provide shock cushioning, and
lubricates. These features are key in the glenohumeral joint because it has such a large ROM and is
subject to more shock than many other joints in the

Clinical Rotation Analysis
I am writing to express myself concerning the clinical issues I had since the beginning of my clinical
rotation this term. I would say this issue is a continuation of the incidence that transpired during my
NUR 319 rotation in which I had written to express my concern in an email addressed to Prof.
Loving/Chiarantona dated 03/12/16. (Please see my email of 03/12/16 as forwarded to you). I did also
request to be sent to a different clinical site to complete my NUR 319 rotation
On 01/26/17 being the first day of clinical (orientation), I was provided a written warning for being
late, and I made sure that doesn t occur again.

I have worked so hard to be where I am right now, actually, I have put in three times more effort than
my class mates, to be where I am right now in my academic. During my community rotation at
Artman Nursing home, I administer medication to about six patients in a day, without any error. I have
also administered meds and perform many procedures without being looked at by my clinical
instructors as not knowing what I am doing.
At this point I know that I am confident, I can critically think and independently plan, organize and
provide quality care to my patient. I have made a tremendous improvement on medication knowledge,
application and administration and these competencies will be demonstrated in my clinical rotation at
Holy redeemer. I have also put studying materials and practices that will help me recall and

WWE NO MERCY 2017 TOP MATCHES AND RESULTS
With the WWE pay per view No Mercy looming around the corner, the wresting world has been given
a few very good matches. WWE Summersalm 2017 was more or less a mediocre pay per view with
the spotlight being more on whether Brock Lesnar was leaving the WWE. It has been rumored for
some time that Brock Lesnar is going to face Jon Johns in an UFC match. But WWE managed to keep
the universe to the edge of their seats, with Brock retaining the title against Samoa Joe, Braun
Strowman and Roman Reigns. But for the WWE Raw roster, that was the highlight. Having said that,
it is clear now that WWE was setting up the competitors for a longer storyline leading to No Mercy

decimated The Big Show. It is highly unlikely that WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will lose
the title just yet. He cannot return to UFC until he gets tested by USADA (United States Anti Doping
Agency). Although it is noteworthy that he is free to return to the ring as his ban ended in July 2017.
And it is rumored that he will honor his commitment to the WWE till WrestleMania 34. But the match
is supposed to push Braun even more as a top contender for the WWE Universal Championship,
which he might win in WrestleMania.
One of the biggest matches in WWE No Mercy 2017 will be the Women s Championship. The title
has lost some of its glory since Charlotte Flair was transferred to WWE Smackdown. With a lack of
proper feuds and storylines, it seemed that all the interest garnered by the Women s revolution was

A Treatise On Courtly Love Analysis
The ideas found in Andreas Capellanus A Treatise on Courtly Love have made their mark on the
human psyche since its inception. The treatise defines love as: an inborn suffering proceeding from the
sight and immoderate thought upon the beauty of the other sex, for which cause above all other things
one wishes to embrace the other and, by common assent, in this embrace to fulfill the commandments
of love... (pg. 1). By framing love as an obsessional and insufferable experience, Capellanus renders
those in the midst of worshiping a paramour from afar helpless until their lovesickness is
consummated. Because men and women are programmed to enjoy the act of making love, the text

Francesca strategically utilizes the concept of love, as described by Capellanus, as her alibi. In her
eyes, she is absolved of blame; it was the literature which swept her into a world of love and passion
(this would be equivalent to blaming alcohol for one s actions the other night at the bar). Francesca s
subsequent telling of her placement in hell nonetheless evokes an interesting and varied interpretation.
Despite her sin, perhaps she is hinting at the fact that her brief love affair will in reality last a lifetime
since Paolo will always remain by her side in the second circle of The Inferno. Conversely, she may be
suggesting that her moment of fulfilled passion and desire was well worth the eternal consequence of
displacement and pain. At any rate, what remains true for Dante, and it is well represented in Inferno,
is that the greater one s will is to sin, the deeper into the hellish abyss they fall. While anoesis is the
least willful of sins, it is nevertheless a choice that caused the lustful to be damned for all

The Native Tribes Of The Great Plains And The Eastern...
The native tribes of the Great Plains and the Eastern Woodlands have surprisingly different adaptions
and responses to their expansions by settlers; not only in their cultures, but in their subsistence,
warfare, peacemaking, and gender roles as well. Both tribes were forced to adapt and change due to
the overtaking on the European settlers, but both managed to do it in different ways. First, I will look
at the tribes of the Great Plains. These nomadic tribes survived on hunting, and the great American
Buffalo was their main source of food. These massive animals were the main source for many items
the Plains tribes made from their flesh, hide and bones, such as foods, cups, decorations, tools, knives,
and clothing. The tribes followed the seasonal grazing and migration of buffalo in order to maintain
their diet and subsistence throughout the year. The Plains Indians lived in tipis because they were
easily disassembled and allowed the nomadic life of following game. When horses from the Spanish
were finally obtained, the Plains tribes rapidly joined them into their daily lives. The natives began to
acquire these horses in the 17th century by trading or stealing them from the Spanish colonists in,
what is now, New Mexico. The tribes of the Great Plains were not particularly violent when the
Spanish first invaded, three factors led to the growing importance of warfare in Plains culture. First,
was the Spanish colonization of the New Mexico colony which stirred up raids and

My best friend Morgan and I have been best friends since baby care. We have been through thick and
thin for the past 12 years. Morgan s brother Gene has been doing baseball for a traveling team since he
was 8. Since he plays on a travel team they normally go out of state to play baseball, so they usually
will invite me to come. This time we were going to the state of Wisconsin where they have cheese as
yummy as candy, water parks like no others, and it is home to the Green Bay Packers.
We got to the hotel that we were staying at for the week while we were overloaded with excitement.
This hotel even had a water park attached to the building. When Morgan and I saw the water park our
jaws dropped. It looked like a humongous play ground full water that flowed down the slides carrying
children and families down the swishing streams that threw them into the freezing cold water at the
bottom of the slide.
We were very excited to go play at the water park, so excited that we grabbed the hotel key out of her

Cloud Storage For The Field Of Pre Construction
Cloud Storage
Cloud storage is one of the important application of mobile technology. Cloud storage can be
described as a service, which allows you to manage and maintain the data remotely. Cloud storage
allows you to save your files online, so that you can access it from anywhere in the world with the
help of internet. Additionally, cloud storage syncs the data making sure that all the devices contain the
same data. Any project manager knows how difficult it is to have access to current information and
many conflicts can be avoided if the same information is available to all the parties in the project.
Another important use of cloud storage is in the field of Pre Construction. For example, Cloud Takeoff
is an application which allows the estimators to perform digital takeoffs on any platforms, from
windows or Mac or IOS or Android. Since these takeoffs are present in cloud, users can collaborate on
the documents using different devices. Cloud Takeoff can do tasks which can previously be performed
on programs like Onscreen takeoff. Cloud takeoff helps in preparing more accurate bids than the bids
produced by PC based software by increasing collaboration between the parties involved. There are
many applications available which provides cloud storage. Some of the examples are Dropbox,

Squat Patterns
A competent squat pattern requires degrees of stability and mobility from the joints of the lower body
(foot, ankle, knee, and hip) and the upper body (thoracic and lumbar spine). Strength and Conditioning
professionals have knowledge regarding each joints anatomical function and its contribution to
optimal movement. The factors that affect an athlete s ability to perform the test with symmetry and co
ordination is multi factorial (lack of co ordination, balance issues, restricted ROM, anthropometrics
and previous injury)(Adrian, 1995; Cook, 2003).
Ideal kinematics for an overhead squat in both descending and ascending movements according to
literature suggests that the thoracic spine be slightly extended with the lumbar spine in neutral with the
cervical spine held in neutral. While at the lower body the hips should be flexed and aligned with the
shoulders, the knee should be flexed and aligned over the feet and at the ankle should be shoulder
width with no rolling or lift up at heel (Baechle, 2000; Bloomfield, 1998; Kinakin, 2004).
Rationale for overhead squat

relate to inability of the knee to maintain alignment with the hip and feet during squat (Cook, 2003;

Diverse Mating Strategies Among Different Species
Diverse Mating Strategies Among Different Dolphin Species
There are a variety of different mating strategies among different male dolphins species. Male mating
strategies and forms of competitive interaction among male cetaceans lead to the development of
sexually dimorphic features such as prominent postanal humps, reproductive adaptation such as large
testis size, and retained bodily scarring caused by interactions with conspecifics. (Murphy, 2005)
Cetacean have been noted to either have a polygynous or polygynandrous mating system. (Murphy,
2005) These mating systems have led to a number of different types of competition among males such
as contest competition (where males limit the access of other males to females by aggressive displays
or fights) scramble competition (competition to disperse and find sexually receptive females),
endurance rivalry competition (competition to remain sexually active over a longer period of time),
mate choice competition (competition in courtship), and sperm competition (competition between the
sperm of 2 or more males). (Murphy, 2005) Individual males will use these different strategies
depending on their dominance in rank, size, age , and number and quality of reproductive females.
(Murphy, 2005) Contest competition and courtship competition have been documented in polygynous
species such as bottlenose dolphin (tursiops truncates), and humpback whales.( Murphy, 2005) Sexual

First, neurological disorders can occur, as seen with Alzheimer s disease and Parkinson s disease,
which can lead to neurogenic bladder ( Neurology/Neurogenic Bladder, 2017). Next, physiological
disorders can occur as seen with enlarged prostate in men or shortening of the urethra in women
(Jaipaul, 2017). Anticipating the above changes appropriately will aid in understanding what leads to
urinary retention in older adults, the resulting need of catheterizations, and the CAUTIs that can
follow. Having a foundation to build on, it would be beneficial to explore what nurses can do prevent
urinary tract infections in patients who require catheterization.
Current Nursing Care
The first step nurses can take to decrease the incidents of CAUTIs in older adults is avoiding
unnecessary use of catheters altogether. Initially, this begins with nurses knowing both appropriate and
inappropriate situations in which a catheter should be utilized. According to (Gould et al., 2017), an
appropriate situation is one where a patient has acute urinary retention or bladder obstruction, whereas
an inappropriate situation is one where a catheter is being used a means of obtaining urine for culture
when the patient can voluntarily void. Nurses can also use basic techniques like palpation, percussion,
and inspection to effectively assess urinary retention, which is the main reason for catheterization as
mentioned earlier. When techniques like this do not achieve desired results,

Kendall Jenner Research Paper
Kendall Jenner said she will still have an enviable figure even if she don t work out and eat healthy
everyday.
Unlike her famous siblings, Khloe and Kourtney who always sweat in the gym and follow a strict diet
regime to lose weight, Kendall Jenner said that behind her svelte physique is her genetic, she s not
following any strict diet regime nor restricting herself to lose weight.
To be honest, I could probably be lazy and not work out and still look the same but I m not like that,
the newly winged Victoria s Secret Angel explained on her website KendallJenner.com.
But although she s lucky to have a natural born sexy figure, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians
star still likes to follow workout program and stuff herself with healthy food to always have a picture
perfect ready, especially during photoshoots. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do a lot of photoshoots with my stomach showing, and it just feels better to know that I can wear a
crop top or nothing, lol at a last minute shoot and not be worried about it. It s all about feeling good
about my body and being confident at work (sic), the 20 year old model said.
As for her morning routine, Kendall said she always starts her morning with eggs, avocado, and
oatmeal. The young model also said she always indulge in pasta.
It appears her hard work paid off as her figure is visibly hot in Love magazine, even in a shark
costume. Jenner posed for the magazine, sporting a black bikini and a pair of black stilettos, which
perfectly complimented the gray hammerhead shark costume.
Meanwhile, Kendall Jenner is one of the faces for an anti violence campaign. Along with other famous
Hollywood celebrities, their images were edited with bruises to raise awareness about women s

Generation View Of Reality Essay
Generation s View of Reality
Ben Stiller s 1994 film, Reality Bites, portrays the broad based struggles of
America s twentysomethings through a lighthearted glimpse into the lives of the movie s main
characters. Four friends, recently graduated from college, find themselves over educated and
under employed, a theme reiterated in the lives of many Generation Xers according to critic
Marilyn Gardner. She states, unemployment is higher for those under 25 then it is for the
workforce as a whole. (pg. 14, col. 1) Though Reality Bites bills itself as a comedy about love
in the 90 s, the film is more of a commentary on the issues facing young adults today
(Kempley, Sec. C., pg 7). The central theme concerning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Michael is a producer for In Your Face Television, a spoof on MTV, the
channel of choice for our generation. Though Michael is young enough to be included in
Generation X, his ideals revolve around possessions as a measure of success, something no
authentic member of Generation X would tolerate.
Somewhere in the middle is Lalaina, a strange mixture of the two. She is the
valedictorian of her graduating class and is briefly employed by a television talk show as an
intern like production assistant until she is fired. In her valedictory address, she condemns the
BMW driving older generation of her parents who have left a lack of employment and natural
resources for her and her peers. Ironically, her graduation gift from her father is a used
BMW, which she concedes to drive until she can afford an inexpensive car of her own. Lalaina s
unemployment leads her to look for jobs where she is inexperienced (working as a news
journalist) to over qualified (flipping burgers at Burgerama), none of which are fruitful. Lalaina
then becomes a slacker herself by eating chips and chain smoking in her pajamas for hours a day.
The social issues facing the characters in the film are what differentiates Reality Bites
from other so called generational flicks such as Rebel Without a Cause, The Graduate, and The
Big Chill. In one of the opening montages, Vicky (Jeanne Garafalo) is shown

Evaluation Of A Good Faith Assessment Of Children With...
Purpose of the Evaluation Wish Granting is at the heart of how MAW GLA serves its community of
children with life threatening illnesses and their families. Time then, is a valuable resource to
furthering the organization s mission. The reach of the organization to all eligible participants is also
critical in the objective to enrich the lives of as many individuals as possible in the chapter s target
population. Understanding the importance of these elements, the consultant team would like to
propose a performance monitoring and process evaluation in order to make a good faith assessment of
MAW GLA s implied and deliberate strategies and practices regarding the Wish Granting process. We
will design an evaluation that ensures MAW GLA is enriching the lives of as many eligible program
participants as possible, assesses if protocols and procedures are streamlined to make the most of the
staffs and volunteers valuable time, and deduces whether the current process offers the most support
possible in achieving the foundation s mission and underlying program theory. We hope to also utilize
these findings to further educate stakeholders about the Wish Granting process as well as to make
useful recommendations on overall process and measuring improvement. Identification of Key
Stakeholders Since many parties are planners, decision makers, implementers, or are affected by the
operation of the Wish Granting process, they considered key stakeholders in the scope of this

Tips on Buying a Used Automobile Essay
Buying a used car can be a very stressful event. There are so many factors that can affect your
experience when buying a used car like, Will I have enough money to purchase the car that meets my
needs? Will the dealer be dishonest, pushy, or willing to negotiate? Lastly, will I be able to find a car
that has both quality and reliability? All of these things can cause a person to become stressed out;
sometimes to the point that a person will decide they no longer want to buy a vehicle or they may buy
a vehicle to fast and get something that they are unhappy with. If you do your research, that will help
to lessen your stress level by giving you a sense of confidence. Worrying about whether you will be
able to afford the car you like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This makes the dealers want to sell you anything off of their lot, even if it s not worth the money.
Sometimes the dealers will amplify the truth to sell you a car. It s always best to step back and do your
own due diligence on the car you are interested in so that you know that you are getting a good deal. If
you find out that the dealer has ill liberated the truth to much that will cause you to get upset with the
dealer and make you wonder what else about the car they are not telling you. Going back and forth
about the price of the car can also be stressful because sometimes you come across dealers that are
unwilling to come down off the asking price of the car. If the car price is over the value of the car
book value it s going to be hard to get financing through the bank or could cost you to pay more
money than the car is worth. The quality and reliability of a car is very important. When purchasing a
used vehicle you should look into factors such as the mpg, the current mileage on the car, and the
visual look of the interior and exterior of the vehicle. These things will affect the quality and reliability
of the car. If you fail to do your due diligence in this area you may be faced with unwanted stress
shortly after purchasing the car. Getting good mpg these days will make a great difference at the
pump. The lower the mileage on the car means the less it has

  • 2. Immigrants In Emma Lazarus s The New Colossus In The New Colossus, Emma Lazarus writes about the Statue of Liberty, painting it out as the beacon for hope, prosperity, and freedom to those wishing to start anew. If they are the wretched refuse or the huddled masses yearning to breathe free , she invites them to come to the United States, where from the Mother of Exiles Glows [a] world wide welcome . Sadly, many people were anti immigrant and anti foreigner, believing that most immigrants will only bring harm to the economy, will only be a detriment to the improvement of the nation, and will only have a negative impact on the nation s social/moral standings. These two views of the late 19th century were very contradictory. On one hand, the nation was created by immigrants from Europe, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 7864. His reasoning behind the veto was mainly the radical departure from our national policy relating to immigration . He understood the true values of what the United States had always been, and what their image was around the world to those that are in tough spots in life. He understood that the nations had very divided sides when it came to immigration and that policies contradicted each other here and there. He understood that some of the citizens wanted to restrict immigration to [protect] our population against degeneration and saving our national peace and quiet from imported turbulence and disorder , but he did not find those reasons strong enough. He saw past what was on the surface and thought about the concerns in a different light. The requirement for immigrants to be able to read, write, and then write 25 words of the Constitution in any language showed nothing of their character. He noted that it only leads to misleading values and true ability to contribute to society, and if there were more concerns than just illiteracy, such as physical or mental health, [those] causes should be dealt with directly, instead of making illiteracy the pretext for exclusion . He even went as far as to state that some of the best citizens are descendants from some of the first immigrants to the nation. He expressed his thoughts, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Did Operation Barbarossa Invade Russia 1941: Operation Barbarossa Russia tried to avoid war with Germany at the start of World War II, but this changed on June 22, 1941. Operation Barbarossa joined Russia into the World War II. This was the largest German military attack, and unfortunately for the Russians, a very well planned operation. Operation Barbarossa s name originated from the Holy Roman emperor, Fredrick Barbarossa, who set out to conquer the Holy Land. This name was completely appropriate since the goal of Operation Barbarossa was to capture the capitol of Russia, Moscow. Operation Barbarossa was an attack by the Germans to join Russia into the war with Germany. The plan of Operation Barbarossa started in July of 1940. Hitler decided he wanted to make an attack on Russia. He saw a threat to his oil supply in Romania who was one of Germany s allies. Hitler signed the first order of Barbarossa on December 18, 1940. Germany was breaking a non aggression pact with Russia on August 23, 1939 with this operation. Although, it wasn t just Germany who was paranoid; Russia was also suspicious of Germany. Germany s bold idea of attacking Russia wasn t just to take over Russian territory, but destroy the Red Army (Soviet army) with large battles and enormous amounts of demolition. After much strategy and months of preparation, Germany invaded Russia on June 22, 1941. Germany was well prepared with three separate army division in the North, South, and Central areas of Russia s eastern border. Germany had about three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Law Office of Morrison, Webster Carlton, workers compensation attorneys with offices in Springfield and Joplin, MO, explain that, although these injuries are often not as dramatic and obvious as those suffered in other professions, they can be extremely serious, and result in long term pain or even permanent disability. Because the results of these injuries are not always obvious, and are often repetitive use injuries that can t be traced to a single event, collecting compensation through the workers compensation can be difficult and frustrating, which is why it s so important ... Most American soldiers who died in the past 15 years, died in the Middle East. To reduce the death toll the United States should not involve themselves in the Middle East for three reasons. First, the United States risks the lives of soldiers and civilians in the Middle East. Moreover, the United States can be targeted by terrorists from the Middle East. In addition, the United States do not have very strong relationships in the Middle East. In the first place, most conflicts in the Middle East have caused the United States to intervene. This puts many American soldiers and Middle Eastern civilians in danger. Furthermore, in the Middle East, many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most people may think the United States possess the strongest weapons in the world. Carl Bildt of the Washington Post, wrote an article relating to Donald Trump s foreign policy and he mentioned, Iran has a ballistic missile program that is rightly seen as threatening by its neighbors. But it is hardly alone in this. Israel s ballistic missile arsenal is likely to be far more sophisticated. And though this fact is little discussed, Saudi Arabia has acquired Chinese ballistic missiles with regional reach (Bildt). From the quote, one can assume the Middle Eastern countries can wreak havoc on their neighbors. If the countries used them it would result in many more casualties of soldiers and civilians. That event would have the potential of starting a third World War. Involvement of the United States in the Middle East has caused several terrorist attacks not only in the United States but, all around the world. Paradoxically, with American involvement in the Middle East, terrorism continues. Likewise the United States has spent billions of dollars fighting terrorism. Dr. Emile Nakhleh wrote an article regarding diplomatic relations with Iran and at one point he said, America has spent billions of dollars fighting al Qaeda and its affiliated groups and more recently the Islamic State (ISIS or IS) with little to show for it (Nakhleh). Accountable leaders are essential in a strong government because they take action and motivate change. When a government has weak leaders, actions are postponed and hesitation causes delays in funding, education, and volunteers. Civil groups, along with other non governmental organizations, need their opinions heard. • 12. Reflection Paper On Nutrition Nutrition can be part of a major role of improving your overall body composition and health. I decided to write about the topic nutrition because, we were assigned to track our eating habits on Super Tracker for seven days. They set up for you, the recommended portion size, based on your height, age and weight. Super Tracker taught me a valuable lesson about keeping portion sizes in mind, and checking labels because just because the label says it has fiber or something, it doesn t necessary mean it does; it can have more added sugars than fibers. Now, I know how much calories I should take in everyday and what I need to improve on because I had lot of nutrients, mineral and vitamins that was under the recommend amount that I needed. With this Super Tracker website, it made me realize that I need to eat healthier, because I am at risk of having lots of health problems in the future, if I continue to eat the way I do. Looking at my report really made me realize that maybe because I was so low/over on mostly everything, that therefore it is the cause of my daily headaches and why I feel weak and dizzy mostly every day of the week. The report indicated that I was over on saturated fats, under my calorie intake, low on dairy and fruit intake and many more. As I was doing my research, eating more fruits will improve my sources of nutrients, including potassium, fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C and folate. The nutrients in fruit are vital for health and maintenance for my body. The potassium in fruit can reduce my risk of heart disease and stroke. Also, according to my dietary report, I am over with my saturated fats, as I stated above. Eating too much total fat (especially saturated fat and trans fat), cholesterol, or sodium may increase my risk of certain chronic diseases, such as heart disease, some cancers, or high blood pressure. Therefore, because of how badly my report came out, it was an eye opener. I want to find ways on how to improve my nutrition and maintain it and what the better outcomes are for maintaining good nutrition. In order to improve my nutrition, I will need to change my diet by taking small steps every day. My dietary nutrition report stated that I am over my added sugars, so to decrease my ... Labour markets can be developed by three basic conditions, these are, stronger market conditions, weaker market conditions and ideal market conditions. They both grew crops and they both relied on agriculture and had many rulers as time went on. We start at Egypt In 3100 B.C and Mesopotamians at 5000 B.C (1). The Nile river was a key place for the start of the Ancient Egyptian empire. Egyptians themselves were located near lower Egypt closeby the Nile Delta. They then slowly moved up around upper egypt. Mesopotamians were located around Zagros Mountains and located inside the Persian gulf. Mesopotamians were Mediterraneans. Egyptians and the Mesopotamians were very alike. The Globe Theater s history behind being built was based off the period of life that it was built in. After the plague ended in the 1800s, there was a company of actors known as the Lord Chamberlain s Men who needed a theatre to perform in. This group is where Shakespeare was first known to be part of. Many theatres were unable to reopen in England after the plague ended. The group performed in the Cross Keys Inn for a little while while looking for a theatre but there were restrictions for performing inside of the city s limits. Shakespeare was the lead playwright for the group by the time the plans for the Globe came about. This group of actors were not the only actors that were struggling at the time because the Theatre, which was a main place for plays to be performed was closed after the lease for the land had expired and the owner refused to renew the lease. • 27. A Patient With Respiratory Acidosis Essay a) In a patient with respiratory acidosis, the partial pressure of CO2 in the plasma (PCO2) rises above normal levels of 40 mmHg (1). Airway resistance due to asthma, respiratory depression due to drug use as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease all cause hypoventilation, lowering partial pressure of plasma oxygen (PO2) to below its normal value of approximately 100 mm Hg (1) and can lead to respiratory acidosis. The equation below describes the equation between CO2 and H2O with H+ and HCO3 . According to the law of mass action, all reactions tend towards equilibrium, and any disturbance in the amount of any of the products or reactants will shift the reaction in a direction which leads to re establishment of equilibrium. If CO2 concentration rises, the new chemical equilibrium will favour further production of both H+ and HCO3 through disassociation of H2CO3. Each additional molecule of CO2 would lead to production of one molecule of H+ and HCO3 . 〖CO〗_2+H_2 O→ H_2 CO^3→H^++HCO_3^ (1). Production of H+ will cause plasma pH to fall below 7.4. Normally, increases in H+ concentrations are buffered mostly by haemoglobin, however buffers can only resist small changes in pH. The HCO3 levels increase slightly, but are likely to still remain within normal levels of 22 to 26 mEq/L. This is because equilibrium changes in concentrations is slight compared to the large compensatory changes (1). Renal mechanisms can assist in excreting H+ and reabsorbing HCO3 . ... The appendicular joints typically have a larger range of motion, but due to this are often weaker than those found in the axial skeleton. The glenohumeral joint is responsible for articulating movement of the upper arm by way of pivoting the humerus at the point that it meets with the scapula. There are many different classifications of joints within the human body and the glenohumeral joint is classified as a ball and socket joint which is one of six different synovial joints present in the body. A synovial joint is a joint that contains articular cartilage, joint capsules, and synovial membranes. The treatise defines love as: an inborn suffering proceeding from the sight and immoderate thought upon the beauty of the other sex, for which cause above all other things one wishes to embrace the other and, by common assent, in this embrace to fulfill the commandments of love... (pg. 1). By framing love as an obsessional and insufferable experience, Capellanus renders those in the midst of worshiping a paramour from afar helpless until their lovesickness is consummated. Francesca s subsequent telling of her placement in hell nonetheless evokes an interesting and varied interpretation. Despite her sin, perhaps she is hinting at the fact that her brief love affair will in reality last a lifetime since Paolo will always remain by her side in the second circle of The Inferno. Conversely, she may be suggesting that her moment of fulfilled passion and desire was well worth the eternal consequence of displacement and pain. At any rate, what remains true for Dante, and it is well represented in Inferno, is that the greater one s will is to sin, the deeper into the hellish abyss they fall. The native tribes of the Great Plains and the Eastern Woodlands have surprisingly different adaptions and responses to their expansions by settlers; not only in their cultures, but in their subsistence, warfare, peacemaking, and gender roles as well. Both tribes were forced to adapt and change due to the overtaking on the European settlers, but both managed to do it in different ways. First, I will look at the tribes of the Great Plains. These nomadic tribes survived on hunting, and the great American Buffalo was their main source of food. These massive animals were the main source for many items the Plains tribes made from their flesh, hide and bones, such as foods, cups, decorations, tools, knives, and clothing. The tribes followed the seasonal grazing and migration of buffalo in order to maintain their diet and subsistence throughout the year. The Plains Indians lived in tipis because they were easily disassembled and allowed the nomadic life of following game. When horses from the Spanish were finally obtained, the Plains tribes rapidly joined them into their daily lives. The natives began to acquire these horses in the 17th century by trading or stealing them from the Spanish colonists in, what is now, New Mexico. The tribes of the Great Plains were not particularly violent when the Spanish first invaded, three factors led to the growing importance of warfare in Plains culture. Squat Patterns A competent squat pattern requires degrees of stability and mobility from the joints of the lower body (foot, ankle, knee, and hip) and the upper body (thoracic and lumbar spine). Strength and Conditioning professionals have knowledge regarding each joints anatomical function and its contribution to optimal movement. The factors that affect an athlete s ability to perform the test with symmetry and co ordination is multi factorial (lack of co ordination, balance issues, restricted ROM, anthropometrics and previous injury)(Adrian, 1995; Cook, 2003). Ideal kinematics for an overhead squat in both descending and ascending movements according to literature suggests that the thoracic spine be slightly extended with the lumbar spine in neutral with the cervical spine held in neutral. While at the lower body the hips should be flexed and aligned with the shoulders, the knee should be flexed and aligned over the feet and at the ankle should be shoulder width with no rolling or lift up at heel (Baechle, 2000; Bloomfield, 1998; Kinakin, 2004). Anticipating the above changes appropriately will aid in understanding what leads to urinary retention in older adults, the resulting need of catheterizations, and the CAUTIs that can follow. Having a foundation to build on, it would be beneficial to explore what nurses can do prevent urinary tract infections in patients who require catheterization. Current Nursing Care The first step nurses can take to decrease the incidents of CAUTIs in older adults is avoiding unnecessary use of catheters altogether. Initially, this begins with nurses knowing both appropriate and inappropriate situations in which a catheter should be utilized. According to (Gould et al., 2017), an appropriate situation is one where a patient has acute urinary retention or bladder obstruction, whereas an inappropriate situation is one where a catheter is being used a means of obtaining urine for culture when the patient can voluntarily void. Nurses can also use basic techniques like palpation, percussion, and inspection to effectively assess urinary retention, which is the main reason for catheterization as mentioned earlier.
