Example Of Social Oppression
Every single person on this planet has been a victim and or enforcer of oppression. The act of
oppression or oppressing are caused by social orientations. Meaning people are subjected to unjust
treatment based on how they live and the choices they make. Examples of social orientations are
sex, class, age, and ethnicity. Along with other aspects that make a person a person. The idea that
people are getting put down for being who they are is the ridiculous reality we live in. Oppression
can be direct or even unintentional. The fact is that it happens times and time again. To myself
included. For so long the world has had the mentality that same sex couples are unnatural and
wrong. Opinions like this have lead to individuals suppressing their

Criminal Justice Case Summary
Introduction
Christopher Byers, Michael Moore, and Steven Branch were second graders in Weaver
Elementary School (Egan, 2016). On May 5, 1993, they went missing after going on a bike ride in
West Memphis, Arkansas (Leveritt, 2002). On the next day, their bruised and mutilated hog tied
naked bodies were found in Robin Hood Hills near Interstate 40, setting off an all out effort to find
their murderers (Linder, 2013). Within a month, police was convinced that three outcast teenagers
were responsible (Linder, 2013). With pressure on their backs to find the culprits, authorities
arrested them. They were known around town for wearing black and listening to heavy metal
(Egan, 2016). At that time, investigators felt that 18 year old Damien Echols, ... Show more content

Wisconsin (Egan, 2016). Echols mentioned that wrongful imprisonment continues to happen and
will continue to do so until the criminal justice system is held to a higher standard (Egan, 2016).
Baldwin, who is the youngest among the three, moved to Seattle. He bought his home there
within five months (Egan, 2016). He is now married, and helped with the Dark Spell: Surviving
the Sentence (2014) book, written by Leveritt, by providing a first hand account of what it was
like to be shackled and thrown into prison at the age of 16 (Egan, 2016). He was also the executive
producer of the Devil s Knot (film), based off the book (Egan, 2016).
He created a Kickstarter campaign, raising $30,000 for a memoir he plans to release (Egan, 2016).
In one of his last interviews, he stated his desire to attend law school and utilize his experiences to
help wrongfully convicted individuals (Egan, 2016).
Misskelley was the only one among the three to return to West Memphis after release (Egan, 2016).
Since then, he had stayed out of spotlight (Egan, 2016).

The law essentially provided for the registration of trade unions, outlining certain requirements
about their rules, trusteeship, accounts, amalgamation, dissolution and the filing of annual financial

unions could be sued for damages in consequence of strike action was not removed by the Trade

The Act provides for the registration of trade unions and identifies enactments which shall not apply

How Sound Impacts Animation
Capstone The importance of Cartoon Composing how Sound Impacts Animation Sounds are and
always have been one of the fundamental aspects in animation because it enables every action that
each character plays. Without sound, animation would not have the same effect as it does with
sound. Having the appropriate sound effects per action is gives the audience a feeling of comfort
and assures the enjoyment of the picture. Animation with sounds provides us with not just a
sequence of moving illustrations, but so much more, in fact, much more to where the storyline
being portrayed within the animation gives us a meaningful experience and expands our
imaginations. It also makes it easy for the viewers to watch and listen to the story... Show more

In 1930 came the Felix the Cat cartoons that also incorporated sound but failed as a series, which
was okay on Disney s behalf because Mickey kept getting more and more popular. It wasn t until
the release of Steamboat Willie when the creators of the Warner Brothers cartoons started to
consider incorporating sound into their cartoons. In 1928, the animators at Warner Brothers Studios
began to trade with Disney and they were so inspired by the success of Disney s sound cartoon that
they started working on the Looney Tunes cartoons that were released in September of 1930.
They used plays and musicals as reference to the use of their music choices. Both Warner
Brothers and Disney made an agreement to duplicate their cartoons to have one version to be
created towards music that was already created and the other version that would already have
been created but the music would have to be made using the animation as the reference to where
the music would follow the action. This is the animation process that Disney s studio went by to
create sound integrated animation: Walt and Carl would time the pictures in Walt s office. Timing
them consisted of working out what the music would be. A lot of times Walt would want more
time or less time for the action than could fit in the musical phrase. So, there would be a pretty
good argument going on there. But finally, Walt worked out a thing with Carl. He said look, let s
work it out this way. We ll

Persuasive Essay On The Declaration Of Independence
A treasure that we should continually use for our decisions on the new challenges we face.
(Esposito) Frank J. Esposito echos the purpose of The Declaration of Independence(DOI)in this
new era and how it should be implemented in a modern government. The DOI is the most
influential piece of writing that has ever come to be. It served it s purpose in 1777 by uniting the
colonists against Great Britain in a bold declaration of independence. This persuasive essay was
written by Thomas Jeffersonand edited by important figures, which are now known as the founding
fathers. Not only, is the DOI an important part of history, but it has also become the model for many
other persuasive writings. Thomas Jefferson used techniques like siding with the acrimonious
reader, considering the historical precedent and the conceding of a point, to create a compelling
argument to persuade the reader s of The Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson used
persuasionwith the acrimonious reader by siding and understanding the opposing view of The
Declaration of Independence. To comprehend why this technique was so effective, there should
be an understanding of what is meant by an acrimonious reader. An acrimonious reader is one
who will not agree with the author s writing. Jefferson reaches the acrimonious reader by siding,
with the purpose to, declare the causes which impel them to the separation. Jefferson wants the
disagreeing side to question their opposing beliefs, all this by presenting evidence, which is
unarguable and cannot be set aside. Essentially, it become a demonstration that the author is
considering the opposing view and understands that the opposite is a valid argument. If I am
charged with microscopic views, I shall treat the charge as captious, unless its author is able to
show, that a different lens would lead to different conclusions. (Droit and Richard) Both Droit and
Seldon, when criticising the DOI, understood that there must be an understanding of the
arguments of both sides in order for persuasion to take place. If a writer s argument is one sided,
then it becomes impossible to hook the acrimonious reader, who serves as the target for persuasion.
Persuasion only works if the reader keeps reading,

St. Jones By Synecdoche
Throughout Literature the reader often finds themselves thrust into the world of its author, this
world relies heavily upon imagery to assist in the formation of this world. In saying this,
however, a significant amount of this literary world derived from text is lost due to it being
written from the point of view of the recorder, this is even more true in regards to history.
Narrowing down the notion of historical point of view, the reader must often times seek out
information from both sides to get a pure account of the past and are scarcely ever given a
completely unbiased historical account due to the primary ascender being given free reign as to
what will be recorded. This idea of the victorious being the recorders of history connects... Show

Lucia, is the concept that areas having seen poverty and hardship do not tend to rise, heal, and
grow from the past without there being some kind of force behind it but instead these areas often
take a more dramatic and less sought after turn. These echos of past pain become places wrought
with violence, corruption, and crime which leave behind any hope for a better future but instead
give way to a great fall. Using synecdoche the reader is able to vividly see the downward spiral of
the people of St. Lucia He warched a falling star singe the arc of its zone and traced the comet as
its declining vector hissed out like a coal in the horizon s basin. using a falling star to describe
the way in which the people of the island are progressively getting worse is not only a beautiful
way to describe an ascent from a once previously higher place into what now seems like chaos
but also because the use of synecdoche is still engrained here in the text because a comet was at
one point a falling star but has now passed into earth s atmosphere. The use of falling star could
also assist in the idea that at as the people of the island further descend into difficult times they
begin to become more chaotic until the comet or in this case people reach their lowest

Australi An Australian Resident
According to S. (6) of ITAA 1936, an Australian resident is a person who resides in Australia and
whose home or domicile is in Australia, or a person who has been in Australia continuously or
from time to time for more than one half of the income year, unless of course the person can
prove that their usual place of abode is situated outside of Australia and the person does not have
any intension of taking up residence in Australia. The cases like Levene vs. IRC and Lysaght vs.
IRC suggest that there are many other factors to be considered while determining a person s
residency rather than just seeing the duration of a person s stay in Australia. Such factors include
the purpose of a person to visit Australia, the individual s behavior... Show more content on

Section 8 1 provides a deduction when assessable income is produced with the help of borrowed
funds or when a business is carried on with these funds.
In Steele s case 1999, High court considered that the interest is deductible before the
commencement of income generating activities.
In this case, the interest of Carl and Jill is not private or domestic in nature. The purpose of
incurring the income for both of them is only one.
Hence, Carl and Jill are carrying on a business for generating income so they are allowed certain
deductions under Section 8 1.
2.) Issue: Which method will be applied; cash or accrual basis of accounting if Carl and Jill are
carrying on a business for taxation law purpose.
Law and application: The decision of choosing the most appropriate method i.e. cash or accrual
depends upon the circumstances of the entity/business as well as its relative income. The case
clearly says that Carl and Jill are carrying on a trading business. The accrual method of
accounting is considered to be the most appropriate method of accounting for income earned from
trading activities. Carl and Jill are into the business of buying and selling of gardening tools
which is trading and should therefore account for income under the accrual method. Moreover the
facts of this case appear to be close to the facts in the case of J.Rowe V FCT.
Conclusion:Thus, accrual method of accounting will be the most appropriate for Carl and Jill s
business.

Power Of Music In Sam Cooke s Song, A Change
Music is intrinsically woven through the timeline of humanity, and is used to accomplish many
different outcomes. These outcomes can come from the writer or from the user, and are as varied
as achieving public awareness to finishing a paper with the help of calming and soothing sounds.
From the 1960 s, until today, musicreminds people of where they were when tragedy struck, when
their world was broadened by awareness of new movements or cultures, or they were exposed to
a different political or social ideology due to the writer s opinions and feelings. However, music is
only capable of informing and causing change if it is spread by the media and then the masses.
Each decade had music that connected the mood of time to events that took... Show more content on

The black community wanted Jim Crow laws abolished, and to enjoy the same rights as the
white community (Jim Crow, 2014). Jim Crow laws allowed a hotel, in Louisiana, to revoke a
prior reservation to Sam Cooke and his family. So, in 1964, Cooke wrote a song called A
Change is Gonna Come. This was not one of Cooke s most famous songs, was released after his
death, and was the B side to his song Shake. While the reservation refusal was the catalyst, the
song is more about the overall unjust treatment of blacks and was to become an anthem for the
civil rights movement. I go to the movie and I go down town. Somebody keep telling me don t

Johnny Carson, and brought the song to the awareness of the entire country, due to Johnny s
popularity. However, placing it on the B side of a dance song would allow non blacks to feel at

are 3 different types of cars that you can choose from (at the time being), and they are very
environmentally friendly.
First of all, Tesla has the safest cars on the market. The cars all have an autopilot function so if it
senses that you are getting too close to any car around you, it will automatically stop or get you out
of the situation. According to Tesla motors, all of their cars are the safest in their class. Also,
according to consumer reports the Model X has a six star rating. That is why Tesla is the safest

Jnana Yoga Caught My Attraction
Initially, Jnana stood out due to the implication that Moksha can be achieved using knowledge.
Intrigued, I was under the impression that this meant to use facts to understand parts of life that are
complicated or that cause stress. Much to my surprise, I came to the realization that the knowledge
they speak of is not fact, but a way of thinking. Regardless of this hiccup, this path to Moksha still
displayed relevancy to my lifestyle.
Jnana yoga caught my attraction because I was operating under the assumption that this was a way
to put my love of learning to use. That is, I thought one is required to learn various facts about
different subjects to grasp Jnana. My misunderstanding of this led to some research, which was
very beneficial and resulted in my increased awareness of the implications of Jnana to my own life.
One of the important applications of Jnana yoga is to discriminate what is real from the unreal
(Swami Vidyananda,Using Your Discrimination in Daily Life: Youtube). To do this, one must
figure out what is real and existing in their life at the moment. This allows a person to be mindful of
their life and to take in their immediate surrounding instead of worrying about imminent future.
Another way to look at this is to come to the realization that nothing in life is guaranteed and that
the situation being fretted over may not come to fruition for a number of reasons. The time spent
fretting over the nonexistent future could have been spent enjoying life and

Individualism And Individualism
Individualism has swept our current society. Teenagers like myself constantly are bombarded
with television, radio, social media, and music that pushes a person to be unique and strive to be
themselves. With this new agenda on the rise, comes a new thinking of self confidence. This
thinking in return, has led to many teenagers making big decisions that impact them on a much
larger scale than the surface level might show. The issue at hand has slowly began to create a
culture in which many immature teenagers begin making mature decisions without thinking the
consequences through. Over time, modern day media has turned these negative mistakes into a
perception of positive results. With millions of young adults interacting with social media on a
daily basis, this small issue could grow into having a major effect on society. Parents or
guardians should decide whether teenagers get piercings or tattoos and society must put a stop to
the idea of individualism in the minds of teenagers while getting back to the root of success;
respect, standards, and work ethic. Many adolescents that have body markings are more likely to
participate in high risk behavior and dangerous activities. According to a 58 question survey taken
by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Youth Risk Behavior Survey, Sean Carroll, a
pediatrician and writer for American Academy of Pediatrics claims, Participants with tattoos and/or

The Importance Of Animal Experimentation
Throughout the years research centers have been using animals as a base of study. They have
genetically modified conditions for animals in order to gain knowledge for treatments or human
diseases. Animal experimentation is the use of non human animals in experiments that are
controlled by variables that can affect the animals biologically. The animals are used to test
makeup products, drug products, or curiosity driven experimentation. These are only a couple of
areas where animals are used for the personal gain of another species. Throughout the years more
people have argued about animal experimentation being ethical. The reason why it has become
such a big issue is because of how social media has grown throughout the years now people can
search what really happens to animals who are experimented on.The real question is whether
animal experimentation is necessary. Depending on people s beliefs some may say that it is
necessary for the advancement of the humanrace, but others may say it is not necessary need
because of other factors that contribute into it and for me personally animal experimentation is not
a necessary option we have to take because of the endless possibilities of other things. , Animal
experimentation is not necessary because of how expensive it is.Animal experimentation is a lot of
money because the scientist have to pay to get the animals from their natural habitats to a
laboratory. Also animal experimentation can take up to 4 or 5 years for the

Parkinson s disease is a disease with a wide variety of disabilities recognizable as changes in

Consequently, both the basal ganglia and the cerebellum are influenced by and return influence to
the descending motor pathways (pyramidal and extrapyramidal), which affect the activity of the
lower motoneurons.
The substantia nigra is a subcortical nucleus that is closely related to basal ganglia. It is reciprocally
connected with the striatum and sends efferents to the ventral anterior and dorsomedial thalamic
nuclei and, to some extent, to the ventral lateral thalamic nuclei. The substantia nigra pars reticulata
also projects to the superior colliculus. Neurons that originate in the striatum and project to the
substantia nigra are inhibitory and utilize the neurotransmitters GABA and substance P. Fibers that
arise in the pars compacta of the substantia nigra use the neurotransmitter dopamine and synapse in
the striatum, while GABAminergic cells in the pars reticulata receive striatal input and project to
the thalamus.
Recordings from neurons in the basal ganglia of monkeys during various motor tasks reveal that the
discharge of single cells in the neostriatum show a direct correlation with movements of the
contralateral arm or leg, and that the discharge of substantial percentage of neurons precedes the
onset of a movement. These studies suggest that the basal ganglia participate in movements at a
high level, including the planning of movement synergy s. Lesions of the basal ganglia resulting

Essay on Iago Character Analysis
William Shakespeare s Othello is a play that mostly revolves around jealousy, trust and revenge.
Throughout most of Shakespeare s plays, evil characters are not uncommon, but in my own
opinion, Iago has to be one of В– if not the most interesting. Even though Iago might be described
by some as being just pure evil or even intolerable , the truth still remains that people will read
deeper into the play just to see what Iagowill do next. Through his words and actions, which are
carefully thought out, Iago is able to manipulate others for his personal benefit. Not only that, but
he also manipulates people to get him closer to his goals. He is no doubt the driving force of the
play, pushing Othelloand everyone else towards the tragic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He figures this will make Cassio lose his position as Lieutenant, thereby making him the new
Lieutenant. Cassio falls for the trick, fights Roderigo, and loses his position. This leaves Iago
with what he wanted all along which is to be Lieutenant. With all of Iago s actions throughout
the play, it is clear to see not only is he evil, but he has no conscience. As the play unfolds, Iago
constantly lies and deceives people. From his wife, to his friends, it doesn t matter. In just about
every scene of the play, one can point out his deception or scheme. In one scene, Iago actually
tricks Othello into believing that Desdemona, his own wife, is having an affair with Cassio. Then
he ironically warns Othello about jealousy:
O, beware my lord of jealousy;
It is the green eye d monster which doth mock
The meat it feeds on (3.3, 165 167)
and manages to convince Othello without any concrete proof, which is amazing. After this,
Othello is so filled with rage and caught up in Iago s lies that he refuses to believe Desdemona
when she denies everything. Othello knows that he can t let her live knowing that he has been
ridiculed:
But alas, to make me the fixed figure for the time of scorn.
To point his slow unmoving finger at! (4.2, 53 55)
Since he can t live in such a role, he murders Desdemona. At this point, much credit has to be
given to Iago even if people don t like him. His manipulative power, which gives him the ability to

Inevitable Events In Ancient Greece Essay
The events that factored in Ancient Greece s downfall were inevitable in the sense that some of the
events were destined to happen. Though a few of the events could have been avoidable like the city
states and their function as a nation. Each city state acted as a separate, independent country, which
did not bring unity to Greece, instead it made Greece too vulnerable. These differences of the city
states eventually led to wars that drastically changed the nation such as the Persian and
Peloponnesian Wars, which both involved the two most infamous city states, Sparta, and Athens.

His first class contained four girls and eleven boys. One of the students was named, Mary Ann

Mary Ann left quite an impression on her young teacher. Edmund now age 21, six foot and three

Advantages Of Exercise Machines
When it comes to training and working out in the gym, we all have our own personal favourite
exercises and/or pieces of equipment for training. There are some people out there that
absolutely adore treadmills and pieces of cardio equipment, whilst there are others that can t
stand them. Some people like dumbbells, some like barbells, some like chest press machines,
some like leg press machines, the list can go on and on. If you really want to start an argument
and watch people get especially heated however, get a group of fitness enthusiasts together, and
ask them whether free weights are better than isolation machines. Some people will swear that
free weights and free weight exercises are the best, whilst others will be adamant that gym
isolation machines are the more beneficial of the two. So, if one set of people is telling you one
thing, and another set of people is telling you something else,... Show more content on

All you need is a set of dumbbells and you can work every major muscle group in your body, and
not only that, but you can actually perform a number of different exercises for all major muscle
groups in the body. With machines, you are limited to doing only what the machine is designed to
do, and although different machines work different muscles, you are still only limited to whichever
machines your gym has in stock.
What are machine exercises? Now that we ve covered free weight exercises, it is now time to take
a look at machine exercises. We ll get right to the point here, by telling you that machine exercises
are basically exercises which are performed using resistance machines in the gym. There are
different machines that target different muscle groups, so let s look at the benefits.
What are the benefits of machine exercises? Some of the primary benefits of machine based

Effect Of Power Quality On A Smooth Industrial Process
Abstract As industries expand, utilities become more interconnected and the use of electricity
rises, power quality becomes essential to insure a smooth industrial process. The main problem
that severely affects the power s quality is the presence of the harmonics, which affects the
performance of the system. Some of the problem caused by the harmonics are metal parts
overheating, increasing noises in motors, decreasing the efficiency of the motors, etc. some
corrective methods can be used to reduce its effect. Contents Introduction3 What is Power

years there has been a great increase in the usage of the solid state electronics technology. This
new technology has provided us with the opportunity to have a product with a high quality with
an increased productivity due to its high efficiency. Today, we can produce products with high
quality at less cost than in the last years, but this new technology has given rise to a new
problem, which is the need for a clear electric power. This new technology has replaced many of
the old ones, bringing many advantages to the user, for example DC AC drives, soft stators, UPS,
etc. Since this new technology is rapidly gaining in the modern industries, power systems are
expected to provide an ideal sinusoidal waveforms for currents and voltages,

Mary Jenkinson Research Paper
When James I was king, the sport of bear bating became popular. Bears, dogs, lions, and other
animals were forced to fight each other to the death for entertainment. He even had a special
platform built so the court could witness these royal games. There was disappointment when the
battles weren t bloody even more so when the animals simply refused to fight. Between the rough
treatment of the animals and the poor living conditions they faced, it was only a matter of time
before someone lost their life. In 1686, a woman named Mary Jenkinson got too close to a lion.
As she was petting its paw, the animal caught her arm in its mouth and tore it apart. Doctors
amputated the mangled arm but Mary died shortly after the attack. Mary s case wasn t the first
time a visitor would be injured or killed, and it certainly wasn t the last. And yes, there were

1. Define modulation.
In electronics and telecommunications, modulation is the process of varying one or more
properties of a periodic waveform, called the carrier signal, with a modulating signal that typically
contains information to be transmitted.
*2. What is carrier frequency?
The frequency generated by an unmodulated radio, radar, carrier communication, or other
transmitter, or the average frequency of the emitted wave when modulated by a symmetrical signal.
Also known as center frequency; resting frequency. 3. Describe the two reasons that modulation is
used for communications trans missions.

Noise generated by electronic devices varies greatly, as it can be produced by several different
effects. Thermal noise is unavoidable at non zero temperature, while other types depend mostly on
device type or manufacturing quality and semiconductor defects, such as conductance fluctuations,
including 1/f noise. 16. Explain the difference between external and internal noise.
Internal Noise is that which a system generates on its own. For example in MicroProcessor,
Inductance of lines connecting different gates or coupling capacitance between different lines
may produce noise. In some systems, thermal excitation and deexcitation of Electrons may
produce Noise. In Most Cases, such Noise is unavoidable. For example, if we are amplifying a
signal by normal Amplifier, which has certain internal Noise, and if We make gain large to
improve signal to Noise ratio, Noise gain will also increase!!! External Noise on the other hand
comes from some external source. For example, in Microprocessor system, ripple voltage from
power supply or voltage spikes may produce noise. This noise can often be reduced easily and may
even be suppressed.

Persuasive Essay On Tariffs
I think a lot of people are tired of watching other countries ripping off the United
States, comments Trump as he implements, a 25 percent tariff on foreign steel and a 10 percent
tariff on foreign aluminum when the product comes across our borders. Trump believes that other
countries have been taking advantage of the US through the current free trade agreements. We are
America the Great ; therefore, of course, we produce steel and aluminum in the cheapest and most
efficient way possible. We will save jobs by encouraging other sectors to purchase steel and
aluminum domestically. The tariffs will only hurt the other countries, not our own people. This
belief is a big joke. Yet, many people believe that getting rid of free tradeis actually ... Show more

What do the people who work in the factories want? They want to have their jobs protected, like
many working people do. Trump promised to help those workers. He promised to protect their
jobs. That is why he is proposing the tariffs. Yet, the tariffs are not actually beneficial for the
workers. By strongly encouraging Americans to use domestic steel and aluminum, the prices are
being raised on these products. All the products that have these two products as inputs are also
having increased prices. Why were factories buying these goods across the sea? China produces
steel and aluminum at a lower marginal cost, allowing them to sell the goods at a lower price and
still maximize profit. Therefore, China is the most efficient producer of these products. Instead of
trying to inhibit efficiency, Trump should be promoting efficiency. He could do so by encouraging
the steel and aluminum factories to discover new ways to produce their goods with a lower
marginal cost. Also, maybe American factories could specialize in another industry if China is the
lowest cost producer of steel and aluminum. But, these proposals are not being encouraged by

Summary Of Child Pornography
Summary of Child Pornography, the Internet and Juvenile Suspects This research article by
Leukfeldt, Jansen, and Stol focuses on adolescents who engage in child pornography. As soon as a
young person takes sexualized pictures or videos of themselves and/or others and then post them
on the internet it must be dealt with through the police. They find it hard to determine as who is
the offender and who is the victim since majority of all youths will produce and distribute a photo
at some point in their adolescents, which can be defined as child pornography. There are many
problems that arise from adolescents who engage in sharing sexualized photos online, such as if
they are in a relationship does it make it any different and should it be ignored or not?
Summary of Data Based Profiling of Internet Child Pornography Offenders In this article produced
by Vasudevan, Ross, Eccleston, and Pradhan they talk about how child pornography has become an
increasing issue in the world for children today. This study focuses on demographic and offending
characteristics of two different groups, which are the non contact and the contact internet sex
offenders. They explore whether the offenders had any prior convictions of criminal history either

Identification of Potential Consumer Segments
The potential consumer target markets fall into two categories; the segments will be referred to as
Suburban Select and Young Active .
Suburban Select Segment
The Suburban Select segment comprises of Canadian parents between 35 to 49 years of age with
university level education or postgraduate degrees; the life cycle is considered to be middle aged
achievers. This segment consists of Canada s up and coming business class families; an affluent
suburban family with dual income couples (Household income $75M+) typically living with at
least one child aged 12 to 17 years (Household size 3+). Given the segments high percentage of

Targeting Consumer Segment
Most buyers do not share the same palate, purchase the same quantities, or respond in the same
manner to marketing efforts. Therefore, a concentrated Niche Marketing approach will work best
to target our selected segment. Instead of pursuing a smaller share of a large market, Exotic Fruit
Bars will target a large share of one focused niche. Through niche marketing, Exotic Fruit Bars can
achieve strong market positioning by gathering thorough and detailed knowledge of the consumer
needs in the niches it serves, and by acquiring a distinct reputation to differentiate Exotic Fruit Bars
from it s competitors.
The product can be marketed effectively by fine tuning the products attributes, price, delivery
channels, and overall image for a carefully defined segment. Introducing the product into a niche
segment will also ensure that Exotic Fruit Bars gains a foothold against larger more resourceful
competitors, and eventually grows into a larger competitor with conceivably newer and more
diversified product selections.
The Suburban Select segment represents a more lucrative niche for this product. Exotic Fruit Bars
will thrive by catering to affluent parents who typically shop for their groceries at higher end
grocery retailers such as Provigo, Loblaws, IGA and health food grocery stores. The parents in this
niche segment are health conscious and wealthy consumers who are willing to

UAE is located at the southeast end of the Arabian Peninsula on the Arabian Gulf sometimes
referred to as Persian Gulf, bordering Oman , and Saudi Arabia to the south, sharing sea borders
with Qatar and Iran (CIA World Factbook). The population is estimated to be 9.446 million and
consists of 1.4 million Emirati citizens and 7.8 million expatriates, majority of whom came from
India, Pakistan, Philippines and other Arab countries. It was established in 1971 as a federation of

representatives, they form the Federal Supreme Council legislative organ. One of the monarchs is
selected as the President of the United Arab Emirates.
The UAE s economy is the most diversified in the Gulf and the wider region. There s no income

are among the richest in the world. Successful efforts at economic diversification have reduced
the portion of GDP based on oil and gas output to twenty five percent with a plan to push it to
zero within next fifty years (Renewable Energy Prospects: United Arab Emirates p. 30). Low
prices of oil have prompted the UAE to take steps to reduce its spending on country wide social
programs, including eliminating fuel subsidies in August 2015. The IMF recently praised the

Blanding s Turtle Populations
By comparing the observed heterozygosity of two Blanding s turtle populations, it was determined
that Area 1 had significantly greater observed heterozygosity than Area 2. The lower observed
heterozygosity found in Area 2 may have been caused by the founder effect, resulting in a loss of
genetic variation. The founder effectoccurs when a new population is established by a small group
of migrants from a larger population. The founder effect involves a random sampling of alleles
during the reproduction of consecutive generations; when a small population is isolated, it may
amplify the loss of genetic variation as individuals may become increasingly genotypically similar
after each subsequent generation. Eventually, the alleles may become fixed... Show more content on

Population bottlenecks occur when a population undergoes a large reduction in size as a result of
environmental events or human activities. As a result, genetic variation may decrease as certain
alleles may be over presented, under presented, or completely absent. Consequently, the genetic
variation may continue to decline throughout subsequent generations as smaller populations, with
less genetic diversity, sexually reproduce, passing on a limited amount of genes to future offspring.
Furthermore, heterozygosity in these populations may decrease as a result of inbreeding.
Inbreeding occurs when two closely related individuals reproduce; inbreeding may cause the
accumulation of homozygous recessive genes and a decrease in genetic variation. Additionally,
infrequently occurring alleles, rather than common alleles, may face a greater chance of being lost,
which may further decrease the level of genetic diversity. As the population continues to decline,
the genetic drift may be intensified as a result of increasing genetic limitations. Similarly, Rubin et
al. (2001) compared smaller, isolated populations of Blanding s turtles found in the Greater
Chicago area to larger populations found in Michigan, Nova Scotia and Wisconsin, and determined,
by using amplified polymorphic DNA, that the smaller populations had a loss of genetic variation

The Story Of Tom Brennan Analysis
This period of our lives is a one bursting with challenging events and life changing transitions, don t
you think? However testing this phase may be though, it s how we accept and counteract these
alterations that ultimately opens up a deeper understanding of our world and self. J.C. Burke s
thought provoking novel, The Story of Tom Brennan and John Marsden and Matt Ottley s
heartbreaking picture book Home and away , address this concept of transition and their challenges
associated as each protagonist undergoes a catastrophic journey surrounding a challenged attitude
and the need for maturity development.
This powerful characteristic that transitional phases possess have the potential to be a rewarding
experience, as they provide an individual with the opportunity for growth and knowledge
development through newfound relationships. In The Story of Tom Brennan , Tom exhibits this
through his bond with Chrissy following the dark trauma he endures caused by his brother Daniel.
Initially, Tom feels detached from his own identity as he refers to himself in third person I

relationship he forms with Chrissy is instrumental in his recovery as he begins to find himself
again. His passionate tone in Today I kissed Chrissy Tulake, I felt like Tom Brennan epitomizes
how this bond empowers him to assert a stronger sense of personal identity. Burke, therefore, is able
to reveal how transitional

Many of Spain s non Catholic citizens are members of some Protestant Church. Small Eastern

How Did Betsy Ross Make The American Flag
The American flag is the symbol of our nation s strength and unity. Many people wonder was it
Betsy Ross that sewed the American flag. Betsy Ross played a big role in making the first

Betsy looks at the design took a piece of paper and folds it in half and cuts it. By cutting the piece

efficient. They agree and take it back to Congress and pass the first flag. This flag would become

Waterhouse put many aspects of the poem in the painting. He chose to use the section of the

influenced the making of the poem is that married women obtain the right to acquire their own
property and the third Reform Act was stops short of creating a male democracy so some
women where fighting for their rights. This poem could have been influenced by women s
rights because, the main character was a woman and she was curious and could not leave the

painting. The painting is beautifully done and there is lots of detail. At the same time there is a

Mental Health Issues For Asylum Seekers
The issue of asylum seekers recently was reignited, with the dramatic increase in the number of
illegal boats arriving in Australia. From the 30th of September 2013, there were a reported 6,403
people in closed detention, this number including 1,078 children. It is not surprising from these
high detention rates and poor living standards that between January 2011 and February 2013 that
there were 4,313 reported incidents of actual, threatened or attempted serious self harm in these
immigration detention facilities. From 12 deaths that occurred between the 1st of July 2010 and
the 20th of June 2013 6 of these have been found by coroners to be suicides (Triggs, 2013). These
statistics are incredibly alarming, especially when not much action is being taken to prevent not
only mental illness but also the consequences of prolonged mental illness suicide. The purpose of

The Moral Dilemma Of Obedience From Authority And Supervisors
A moral dilemma that I had faced in my life that continue to cloud my judgement even until this
is day is obedience to and how far we will let it reflect on how we let it decide how we live our
life. In today s day and age with the everyone having so many choices on how they can live our
lives conflicts with our moral reasons with what is right or wrong and having to outweigh the
values of our conflicts. Its makes I question authorityand test on how far our obedience from
authority and supervisors lays thought us. When we were little most of us were taught that by my
parents what was right or wrong and how by simply having these few characteristics a person can
have such as stronger, more powerful, and intelligent or just have more experience than you that
they are always right.
We grow up in today s world thinking that should always question the authority because nothing
can be too good to be true . And that we should have to the ability to reconsider whether or not
something is rational or irrational because if not it can end badly. When I was little I attend

moral and immoral. Well when I graduated learned that because a person was gay didn t mean
that they were bad or evil but that they are just like you and I. So with this in mind to make me

and were looked down upon. Fisher including the women in Kettle Bottom, displays her gratitude
and how she is sympathetic towards the women. Throughout Kettle Bottom, there is a collection of
poems titled My Dearest Hazel. The My Dearest Hazel collection was the most intriguing to me as
it included the Appalachian women and their hardships. The poems specifically focuses in on a
young woman Hazel. Each poems shows letters chronologically between... Show more content on

I believe that the Appalachian women were exhilarating and independent women, that should
have never been overlooked, just as it is displayed. I found this piece so interesting as Fisher dug
deeper into the women, making them appear more in depth. In the second appearance of My
Dearest Hazel, the sister is writing to Hazel, following up with her. At this point her sister has
observed that Hazel is pregnant and it is also now known to the readers that Hazel married
Turely. As her sister stated, I afeared that s what it was, Hazel, when I see you at the wedding,
looking so pale and peaked. Her sister explains her fear for Hazel and that most people are stuck
living in tents. Her fear is that she will end up living the same. Her sister states, You get ready,
honey / Cart all your canned goods up to Momma s, your quilts, / your pretty dishes them Baldwin
Felts / break things up when they put people out / and you will need / to hang onto whatever you
can (Fisher, 27).
The chance Turly not surviving from working in the coal mine, and the fear of marriage not
working with a child makes Hazel s sister concerned. She wants Hazel to cherish the things she
already has, before she loses then. I found this poem so intriguing as Hazel s pregnancy was not
something celebrated but something feared. Pregnancy is typically an exciting time for a woman,
but in this situation was something not recommended. The last poem in the

Biological Warfare Vs Ebola
Biological warfare may wipe out human existence and all signs of life on this earth, but we have
no say. The United States has the strongest military defence force in the world which also makes
them more empower than any other country. The United States is so advanced they have man
made biological weapons ready to send off at the commander s command. ISIS has the power to
attack any country they wanted to with a Biological Weapon causing destruction and panic. Most
military defences have a Biological defence laboratories where they test all their bioweapons.
America has been seen testing biological weapons in public to check if they were effective, this has
questioned many people making them think that biological warfare and biological terrorism... Show

Biological Warfare is too dangerous for humans to be playing with even if they are using them
as defence. We as humans don t get a say in what is right and what is wrong if it is to do with the
military because we are seen as weak and ignorant. Biological Warfare could destroy this earth
and all living things on it but as people do not have knowledge about Biological Warfare they
ambiguous to the situation. In my opinion Biological Warfare should be taught and people should
be warned about the consequences and effects that could take place so people can wake up and

Examples Of One Good Deed In The Count Of Monte Cristo
Everyone has done a good deed at one point in life. Some people do genuine good deeds, but
others do them for their own personal gains. In The Count of Monte Cristo, Alexandre Dumas
expresses the idea that one good deed deserves another using the characters, and their actions. He
shows how the characters at times do genuine and good deeds, and them doing good deeds for their
own purpose. Dumas provides examples of this when DantСђs does genuine good deeds for the
Morrel family, when Faria alone does a good deed for DantСђs while he was just there with Faria.
Dumas also provides an example of a falso good deed when the Count saves Heloise and her son
from some wild horses. Reasons for why the Count saved them is because they were pawns... Show

Abbe Faria helped DantСђs in countless ways. From teaching DantСђs everything he knows, to
calling him, his own son. Alas, my boy, Faria, smiling, human knowledge is quite limited. When
you ve learned mathematics, physics, history and three or four living languages I speak, you ll
know everything I do (49). You re my son! cried the old man (60). Faria also helps DantСђs solve
the mystery of why he was imprisoned, and tells him the location of the Spada treasure at the Isle
of Monte Cristo. Do you know who Monsieur Noirtier was? He was the deputy s father ... Yes, his
father, whose name is Noirtier de Villefort ... A dazzling light seemed to flash through DantС

brain and things which had until the remained dark and obscure now became crystal clear to him
(48), This piece of paper, my friend, said Faria, is my treasure, half of which belongs to you from
this day on (53). Faria helps DantСђs in all these ways, but DantСђs never helps Faria in the way
Faria has. The only thing DantСђs ever did for Faria was staying with him until Faria died and
becoming a son like figure for him. This is an example of a genuine good deed on Farias part, but
not on DantСђs . DantСђs never does a good deed for Faria or returns Farias

Sociological Perspective Of False Consciousness
False consciousness is sociological concept that I can personally identify with the most. False
consciousness acording to the text book is a condition in which people, usually in groups that
are relatively powerless, accept beliefs that work against their own self interests. False
consciousness has to do with myself because of my evangelical parents that defined my
childhood due to their ideology and how so many of peers act against their self intrests due to a
toxic ideology given to them by the ruling class. False Consciousness supports my view that the
world is filled with many deceived subgroups that act in False consciousness. This sociological
concept allowed me to learn more about why False Consciousness occurs and strengthened my
view of the perceived power that the ruling class has over working class but the actual untouched
power the working class has over the ruling class. As I grew up I saw how the church created an
ideology for my parents that justified its excessive exploitation of them and how they simply
accepted this ideology even though it went against many of our best intrests. We missed meals on
a regular basis because the church demanded 15% of all of our income when we had very little to
give. In the text book it gave an example of medival European society; the ruling class could
promote its interest through the Church . My parents church promoted it s intrests and my parents
simply accpted this ideology that caused major finacial strain on them and on

Protection of participants rights
пѓ Were appropriate procedures used to safeguard the rights of study participants? Was the study
subject to external review by an IRB/ethics review board?
пѓ Was the study designed to minimize risks and maximize benefits to participants? This is a
small scale study done in preparation for a major study so an IRB/ethics review board was not
consulted. The consent provisions were followed with all study participants. The tests were
administered then participants took information home to read and look over for a test retest in two
weeks.
Research design
пѓ Was the most rigorous possible design used, given the purpose of the research?
пѓ Were appropriate comparisons made to enhance interpretability of the findings?
пѓ Was the number of data collection points appropriate?
пѓ Did the design minimize biases and threats to the internal, construct, and external validity of
the study (e.g., was blinding used, was attrition minimized)?
External validity of the small sampling cause concerns for generalizability of results. As mentioned
in the Discussion section of the research, 106 and 130 participants per groups would be an
appropriate sample size. The most rigorous possible design was not used in this research. One
weakness is utilizing the 1953 and 1969 evaluation tools to compare and contrast to the year 2013.
Content validity was used when a six member panel of experts evaluated the pamphlets to

White Collar Crime Fbi Investigation
Introduction: It was 13 years ago that the announcement of bankruptcy by Enron Corporation, an
American energy, commodities and service firm at the time, would unravel a scandal resulting in
what is regarded as the most multifaceted white collar crime FBI investigation conducted in
history. High ranking officials at the Houston based company swindled investors and managed to
further their own wealth through intricate, shifty accounting practices such as listing assets above
their true value to increase cash inflows and earnings statements. This had the effect of making
the company and its shares look more enticing than they really were to potential investors. Upon
their declaration of negative net worth in December 2001, shareholders filed a $40 billion
lawsuit against the company, citing a drop of shares from around $90 per share to around $1 per
share within only a few months. In light of these events, officials at the Securities and Exchange
Commission (SCE) were prompted to initiate further investigation to figure out how such a drastic
loss occurred. White collar crime can be summed up in a nutshell by the following three deviant
behaviors, all of which we hope to establish as morally wrong to our youth: lying, cheating and
stealing. The term, coined in 1939, has become an umbrella term encompassing a full spectrum of
frauds committed by business (potentially corporate), government professionals and a growing
number of individuals capable of cyberspace hijacking. The

On May 5, 1993, they went missing after going on a bike ride in West Memphis, Arkansas (Leveritt, 2002). On the next day, their bruised and mutilated hog tied naked bodies were found in Robin Hood Hills near Interstate 40, setting off an all out effort to find their murderers (Linder, 2013). Within a month, police was convinced that three outcast teenagers were responsible (Linder, 2013). With pressure on their backs to find the culprits, authorities arrested them. In 1928, the animators at Warner Brothers Studios began to trade with Disney and they were so inspired by the success of Disney s sound cartoon that they started working on the Looney Tunes cartoons that were released in September of 1930. They used plays and musicals as reference to the use of their music choices. Both Warner Brothers and Disney made an agreement to duplicate their cartoons to have one version to be created towards music that was already created and the other version that would already have been created but the music would have to be made using the animation as the reference to where the music would follow the action. This is the animation process that Disney s studio went by to create sound integrated animation: Walt and Carl would time the pictures in Walt s office. Timing them consisted of working out what the music would be. A lot of times Walt would want more time or less time for the action than could fit in the musical phrase. So, there would be a pretty good argument going on there. But finally, Walt worked out a thing with Carl. He said look, let s work it out this way. We ll ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On The Declaration Of Independence A treasure that we should continually use for our decisions on the new challenges we face. (Esposito) Frank J. Esposito echos the purpose of The Declaration of Independence(DOI)in this new era and how it should be implemented in a modern government. The DOI is the most influential piece of writing that has ever come to be. It served it s purpose in 1777 by uniting the colonists against Great Britain in a bold declaration of independence. This persuasive essay was written by Thomas Jeffersonand edited by important figures, which are now known as the founding fathers. Not only, is the DOI an important part of history, but it has also become the model for many other persuasive writings. Thomas Jefferson used techniques like siding with the acrimonious reader, considering the historical precedent and the conceding of a point, to create a compelling argument to persuade the reader s of The Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson used persuasionwith the acrimonious reader by siding and understanding the opposing view of The Declaration of Independence. To comprehend why this technique was so effective, there should be an understanding of what is meant by an acrimonious reader. An acrimonious reader is one who will not agree with the author s writing. Jefferson reaches the acrimonious reader by siding, with the purpose to, declare the causes which impel them to the separation. Jefferson wants the disagreeing side to question their opposing beliefs, all this by presenting evidence, which is unarguable and cannot be set aside. Essentially, it become a demonstration that the author is considering the opposing view and understands that the opposite is a valid argument. If I am charged with microscopic views, I shall treat the charge as captious, unless its author is able to show, that a different lens would lead to different conclusions. (Droit and Richard) Both Droit and Seldon, when criticising the DOI, understood that there must be an understanding of the arguments of both sides in order for persuasion to take place. If a writer s argument is one sided, then it becomes impossible to hook the acrimonious reader, who serves as the target for persuasion. Persuasion only works if the reader keeps reading, ... St. Jones By Synecdoche Throughout Literature the reader often finds themselves thrust into the world of its author, this world relies heavily upon imagery to assist in the formation of this world. In saying this, however, a significant amount of this literary world derived from text is lost due to it being written from the point of view of the recorder, this is even more true in regards to history. Narrowing down the notion of historical point of view, the reader must often times seek out information from both sides to get a pure account of the past and are scarcely ever given a completely unbiased historical account due to the primary ascender being given free reign as to what will be recorded. Section 8 1 provides a deduction when assessable income is produced with the help of borrowed funds or when a business is carried on with these funds. In Steele s case 1999, High court considered that the interest is deductible before the commencement of income generating activities. In this case, the interest of Carl and Jill is not private or domestic in nature. The purpose of incurring the income for both of them is only one. Hence, Carl and Jill are carrying on a business for generating income so they are allowed certain deductions under Section 8 1. 2.) Issue: Which method will be applied; cash or accrual basis of accounting if Carl and Jill are carrying on a business for taxation law purpose. Law and application: The decision of choosing the most appropriate method i.e. cash or accrual depends upon the circumstances of the entity/business as well as its relative income. The case clearly says that Carl and Jill are carrying on a trading business. The accrual method of accounting is considered to be the most appropriate method of accounting for income earned from trading activities. Carl and Jill are into the business of buying and selling of gardening tools which is trading and should therefore account for income under the accrual method. Moreover the facts of this case appear to be close to the facts in the case of J.Rowe V FCT. Conclusion:Thus, accrual method of accounting will be the most appropriate for Carl and Jill s business. Intrigued, I was under the impression that this meant to use facts to understand parts of life that are complicated or that cause stress. Much to my surprise, I came to the realization that the knowledge they speak of is not fact, but a way of thinking. Regardless of this hiccup, this path to Moksha still displayed relevancy to my lifestyle. Jnana yoga caught my attraction because I was operating under the assumption that this was a way to put my love of learning to use. That is, I thought one is required to learn various facts about different subjects to grasp Jnana. My misunderstanding of this led to some research, which was very beneficial and resulted in my increased awareness of the implications of Jnana to my own life. One of the important applications of Jnana yoga is to discriminate what is real from the unreal (Swami Vidyananda,Using Your Discrimination in Daily Life: Youtube). To do this, one must figure out what is real and existing in their life at the moment. This allows a person to be mindful of their life and to take in their immediate surrounding instead of worrying about imminent future. Another way to look at this is to come to the realization that nothing in life is guaranteed and that the situation being fretted over may not come to fruition for a number of reasons. This thinking in return, has led to many teenagers making big decisions that impact them on a much larger scale than the surface level might show. The issue at hand has slowly began to create a culture in which many immature teenagers begin making mature decisions without thinking the consequences through. Over time, modern day media has turned these negative mistakes into a perception of positive results. With millions of young adults interacting with social media on a daily basis, this small issue could grow into having a major effect on society. Parents or guardians should decide whether teenagers get piercings or tattoos and society must put a stop to the idea of individualism in the minds of teenagers while getting back to the root of success; respect, standards, and work ethic. Consequently, both the basal ganglia and the cerebellum are influenced by and return influence to the descending motor pathways (pyramidal and extrapyramidal), which affect the activity of the lower motoneurons. The substantia nigra is a subcortical nucleus that is closely related to basal ganglia. It is reciprocally connected with the striatum and sends efferents to the ventral anterior and dorsomedial thalamic nuclei and, to some extent, to the ventral lateral thalamic nuclei. The substantia nigra pars reticulata also projects to the superior colliculus. Neurons that originate in the striatum and project to the substantia nigra are inhibitory and utilize the neurotransmitters GABA and substance P. Fibers that arise in the pars compacta of the substantia nigra use the neurotransmitter dopamine and synapse in the striatum, while GABAminergic cells in the pars reticulata receive striatal input and project to the thalamus. Recordings from neurons in the basal ganglia of monkeys during various motor tasks reveal that the discharge of single cells in the neostriatum show a direct correlation with movements of the contralateral arm or leg, and that the discharge of substantial percentage of neurons precedes the onset of a movement. Yet, the tariffs are not actually beneficial for the workers. By strongly encouraging Americans to use domestic steel and aluminum, the prices are being raised on these products. All the products that have these two products as inputs are also having increased prices. Why were factories buying these goods across the sea? China produces steel and aluminum at a lower marginal cost, allowing them to sell the goods at a lower price and still maximize profit. Therefore, China is the most efficient producer of these products. Instead of trying to inhibit efficiency, Trump should be promoting efficiency. He could do so by encouraging the steel and aluminum factories to discover new ways to produce their goods with a lower marginal cost. Also, maybe American factories could specialize in another industry if China is the lowest cost producer of steel and aluminum. But, these proposals are not being encouraged by Trump and his ... Through niche marketing, Exotic Fruit Bars can achieve strong market positioning by gathering thorough and detailed knowledge of the consumer needs in the niches it serves, and by acquiring a distinct reputation to differentiate Exotic Fruit Bars from it s competitors. The product can be marketed effectively by fine tuning the products attributes, price, delivery channels, and overall image for a carefully defined segment. Blanding s Turtle Populations By comparing the observed heterozygosity of two Blanding s turtle populations, it was determined that Area 1 had significantly greater observed heterozygosity than Area 2. The lower observed heterozygosity found in Area 2 may have been caused by the founder effect, resulting in a loss of genetic variation. The founder effectoccurs when a new population is established by a small group of migrants from a larger population. The founder effect involves a random sampling of alleles during the reproduction of consecutive generations; when a small population is isolated, it may amplify the loss of genetic variation as individuals may become increasingly genotypically similar after each subsequent generation. Eventually, the alleles may become fixed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Population bottlenecks occur when a population undergoes a large reduction in size as a result of environmental events or human activities. As a result, genetic variation may decrease as certain alleles may be over presented, under presented, or completely absent. Consequently, the genetic variation may continue to decline throughout subsequent generations as smaller populations, with less genetic diversity, sexually reproduce, passing on a limited amount of genes to future offspring. Furthermore, heterozygosity in these populations may decrease as a result of inbreeding. Inbreeding occurs when two closely related individuals reproduce; inbreeding may cause the accumulation of homozygous recessive genes and a decrease in genetic variation. Additionally, infrequently occurring alleles, rather than common alleles, may face a greater chance of being lost, which may further decrease the level of genetic diversity. As the population continues to decline, the genetic drift may be intensified as a result of increasing genetic limitations. Similarly, Rubin et al. (2001) compared smaller, isolated populations of Blanding s turtles found in the Greater Chicago area to larger populations found in Michigan, Nova Scotia and Wisconsin, and determined, by using amplified polymorphic DNA, that the smaller populations had a loss of genetic variation in comparison to the ...
