Capital Punishment Essay Conclusion
Crafting an essay on the conclusion of capital punishment can be a formidable task, requiring a
delicate balance between presenting compelling arguments and maintaining a nuanced
perspective. The complexity of the topic demands a thorough understanding of the ethical, legal,
and social dimensions surrounding capital punishment.
To begin with, one must delve into the extensive body of literature and legal precedents related
to capital punishment. This involves sifting through historical cases, legal doctrines, and evolving
societal attitudes to form a comprehensive view. Analyzing the various ethical frameworks is
equally challenging, as differing cultural and moral perspectives influence how individuals
perceive the legitimacy of capital punishment.
The difficulty intensifies when attempting to develop a nuanced conclusion that addresses the
multifaceted nature of the issue. One must consider not only the moral and ethical implications
but also the legal frameworks in place and potential societal repercussions. Striking a balance
between empathy for victims and understanding the potential flaws in the justice system adds an
additional layer of intricacy to the essay.
Moreover, crafting a conclusion that encapsulates the essence of the entire essay while leaving a
lasting impact on the reader is a delicate art. It requires skillful summarization, seamlessly
weaving together diverse perspectives and arguments presented throughout the essay. The writer
must strive to avoid oversimplification and instead offer a thoughtful synthesis of the
complexities surrounding capital punishment.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the conclusion of capital punishment demands a deep dive
into the subject matter, rigorous research, and the ability to navigate the intricate web of ethical,
legal, and social considerations. Only through a comprehensive exploration of these facets can
one hope to deliver a well-rounded and impactful essay on such a challenging topic.

Gun Control And School Safety
Guns in the Classroom Destiny Casey Student ID# 000410720 WGU Guns in the
Classroom Allowing teachers to carry guns will allow teachers to prevent school
shootings on the grounds of preschool through college campuses. Everyone has
their own opinion about teachers being able to carry guns including other teachers,
parents, and government officials. Depending on what state the teacher is
teaching in determines if they can carry their gun now, if they are in the process of
being able to, or if their state is not passing a law to allow them to carry their gun
while at school. Teachers would not stand out like police officers or security
officers would while in the school which would allow for other teachers and all of
the students to have normal days if schools did not have officers before. Research
shows that allowing some teachers to carry guns in their school promotes school
safety, protects the teachers and students, and promotes gun safety while still
teaching their students. Guns in schools promote school safety, by allowing teachers
to have guns in the classroom you are letting students and parents know you want
their children to be safe while they are in your school or classroom all day away
from their parents. Bender talks about what teachers can do to prevent weapons in the
classroom and to help other teachers if something arises and they need backup
assistance from another teacher. Preventing guns from being in the classroom rules
out a lot of the issues with
History Channel Series Modern Marvels
It takes more than just an army to keep America s military and personnel operating
365 days a year at 100%, it also takes an air force and navy. The task for getting
supplies, soldiers, Marines and sailors to where they are needed in the world falls
to the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and its components which
is truly a herculean feat. The History Channel series Modern Marvels featured
USTRANSCOM in season 17 episode 11 which covered packaging and the
technology and creativity that it takes to create and sustain movement of all types of
items and people. In the episode the series highlighted all three major subcommands
of USTRANSCOM; Air Mobility Command, Military Sealift Commandand Military
Surface Deployment and Distribution Center. Having served four years active duty
in the U.S. Navy directly after September 11, 2001 and now serving in the U.S.
Navy Reserves and just recently returning from a deployment overseas to the Horn
of Africa I have had firsthand experience with the services of USTRANSCOM and
some knowledge about what they do. It is extremely interesting to see how my
fellow brothers and sisters in arms help those of us that are not only down range in
our designated area of responsibility but as well as at home. Unfortunately the 10 to
15 minute segment was too short to really show all that USTRANSCOM does (its
mission), all the different types of equipment they use to complete their missions and
the vast array of three subcommands capabilities.
The Importance Of Humanism In The Renaissance
Art, science, and religion build the fundamentals for education. The Renaissance
burned with a fiery passion for new and innovative ideas. The people of Europe
strayed from the bleak Medieval ages full of depression and instead, they saw light
in a new beginning. In the 1400s.Not only was there a cultural change, but there was
also a religious change. When the Roman Empire fell, so did the Roman Catholic
Church. With the fast moving technological growth and decreasing religious
reinforcing, the idea of humanism symbolically represent the Renaissance as a whole.
Humanism is the cultural stress on human nature instead of religious matters or
anything supernatural. Three men who symbolized the ideals of humanism include
Michelangelo, Nicolaus Copernicus, and Martin Luther. Each man questioned his
worth and reconstructed himself in his own image, reflected the impacts of the
Renaissance through his works, and strived to accomplish a goal like no other. Art
is culture, and culture is art. In the center of where it all started, Michelangelo di
Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni revolutionized art with his life like statues as well as
his work on the Sistine Chapel. Though it was seen as a social downgrade,
Michelangelo pursued his dreams regardless of society. His more known works such
as the David statue reflect his perfectionism and how precise the human anatomy was
even back then. In the Vatican, he took on a job that engulfed his life for 4 years.
Michelangelo found himself obsessing
Story Of Bottled Water
What is your opinion on the topic after reading/viewing the selection? Do you agree
or disagree with the author? Why or why not?
I watched The Story of Bottled Water . This video s main goal is to persuade you
not to buy bottled water. The producers of the video gave examples showing a bad
light on bottled water. One example highlighted how water bottles were sitting in
landfills in India and polluting the world. I agree with the fact about how it is bad
that the bottles are causing pollution. At another point in the video they said that
being seen drinking out of a bottle of water was getting to the same level as being
seen smoking while pregnant. I disagree with that statement. I think that is very
extreme and just not true. My opinion on this topic after watching the video is that
the problem is not the bottles of water and their companies, it is the factories in India
that are not actually recycling the bottles. That seems to be the main problem.

After reading this poem I realized that it was about when the author was little and
was discriminated against because of the color of his skin. He described being
hungry when he was a young boy and not having much food to eat was just normal
to him. He saw no problem with it because he thought that was just life because that
was all he had ever known. His experiences were limited because he was so young
and did not have knowledge outside of his
Technology Has Impacted Us All

Technology has impacted us all, whether socially, mentally or physically. We now
depend on this technologic improvement to run our lives for us. But we are blinded
by the positive things it brings us that we do not take notice of the hazardous or
negative effects it also brings to our lives or the people around us.
We must always be aware of the harmful effects of the overuse of electronics,
technology pretty much runs our lives these days and has been for years without us
taking notice. In our homes, our work places we have computers, phones, and all
these different kinds of gadgets helping us get through the day. Sometimes we are just

Based on a 2010 Kaiser Foundation study showed that elementary aged children use
on average 7.5 hours per day of entertainment technology,
75 percent of these children have a TV or a device in their bedrooms, and 50 percent
of
North American homes have the TV on all day, children now rely on technology for
the majority of their free time, but are still developing sensory, motor, and
attachment systems that they are not ready for the chaotic nature of today s
technology. This impact on the developing child has seen an increase of physical,
Psychological and behavior disorders that people now are just beginning to notice.
Young children require 2 3 hours per day of active play to achieve the adequate
sensory stimulation received when touched, and or hugged.
More negative effects that technology brings into our society is Cyber bullying
caused by social media being so big. Kids especially are the most vulnerable to this
which the perpetrators, anonymously or even posing as other people the victims

most likely never leave your life, or even end a life. Many victims have even been
driven to the point of not wanting to live their lives
Corning Museum Of Glass Essay
In 1951, the Corning Museum of Glass was built. It was an L shaped building that
composed of the non for profit Corning Museum of Glass, the for profit Corning
Glass Center, and the Steuben Glass factory. The Corning Museum of Glass is an
institution whose mission is to tell the world about glass by engaging, educating, and
inspiring visitors and the community through the art, history, and science of glass.
Thanks to resources like the Juliette K. and Leonard S. Rakow Research Library, this
museum is able to spread knowledge about the art, history, and science of
glassmaking.
The museum was founded in 1951 by Corning Glass Works as an educational
institution. It is a non profit institution that preserves the world s glass and teaches
about it. The initial building included a Hall of Science that showcased the
technology of glass. The Scientific Research Department of the museum was
established in order to study glassmaking and its history. According to their website,
The findings of this research have been shared in more than 190 publications on
archaeology, chemistry, and conservation of glass. The museum provides a
searchable database for the public to use in order to view these publications.
In June, 1972, flood waters caused by Hurricane Agnes caused $750 million in
property damage to counties along the Southern Tier of New York State (NY

Preprocessing Data
Preprocessing is actually a trail to improve text classification by removing worthiness
information. In our work document preprocessing involve removing punctuation
marks, numbers, words written in another language, normalize the documents by
(replace the letter ( ШЈ ШҐ Шў ) with (Ш§ ), replace the letter (ШЎ Ш¤ ) with (
Ш§), and replace the letter( Щ‰ ) with ( Ш§). Finally removing the stop words,
which are words that can be found in any text like prepositions and pronouns. The
rest of words are returned and are referred to as keywords or features. The number of
these features is usually large for large documents and therefore some filtering can be
applied to these features to reduce their number and remove redundant features.
Features Extraction
Text is categorized by two types of features, external and internal. External features
are not related to the content of the text, such as author name, publication date, author
gender, and so on. Internal features reflect the text content and are mostly linguistic
features, such as lexical items and grammatical categories[www]. In our work,
words were treated as a feature on three levels: using a bag of words form, word stem
, in which the suffix and prefix were removed and word root. With all these features
we need to extract and generates the frequency list of the dataset features (single
words) and save it in a training file.

A. S. King Reality Boy Analysis
Reality Boy In this story by A.S. King is an intriguing story about a boy named
Gerald Faust who has overcome a past filled with neglect and torture from his
family at home. His oldest sister, Tasha, is the true source of the family problems
but only Lizi, the middle child, knows the entire truth of it. Reality Boy is told in
the first person narrative, following Gerald s life from two weeks before he turns
seventeen, to two weeks after. Within this time he finds out who he really is
through a true relationship with a peer that has, in his opinion, as many problems as
he does. When Gerald first starts to take the narrative, you find out that he is a

still trying to suffocate him. Since he spends most of his time away from the house
he doesn t deal with his trigger often. He finds that he is attracted to his coworker
at register one. Hanna was her name, and she was as messed up as Gerald. Gerald
didn t know this though, he thought that he was the only one with a messed up past
because everyone knew it. In Hanna s mind she thought Gerald was too much of a
star to notice her. Then one day as they are prepping hotdogs for the concession

Taking a Look at the Titan Arum
The Titan arum is a magnificent plant that stands high above the plumage of other
plants. It is a member of the Araceae family that is known to grow an inflorescence
while also being enclosed by a leafy shield known as a spathe. The Titan arum, or
Amorphophallus titanum was first discovered by Italian botanist Odoardo Beccari in
1878. Titan arumare known to grow as large as 3.06 meters tall in controlled
botanical gardens (Barthlott et al.). Just a single blossomed flower of the Titan
arum can stretch out to be three feet across and 36 pounds. The flowers also retain
a darkish red, almost flesh colored hue (Milius). It took a staggering 11 years for
the first instance of blooming to occur in this plant in 1889 at the Royal Botanic
Gardens, Kew. The snail like pace of this flowers maturity is demonstrated by the
fact that only 21 flowerings were recorded across the world until 1989. In all
aspects of size, this flower trumps others. the Titan arum s flowering structure can
grow up to measurements of 10 centimeters a day up to a height of 2.9 meters or
roughly 9 and a half feet tall. Leaf height can reach a towering height of 6 meters,
leaf width can reach 4.5 meters, and the tuber, the energy storing structure of the
plant, can grow to be 150 pounds. This hefty tuber can also grow into the ground and
stay formant for one to three years (RBG). These monstrous plants, however stalwart
they might seem, have been placed under a vulnerable condition due to their
Pennies And Dimes Lab Report
Discussion
As presented in Table 1, only pennies were used in this part of the experiment. 8
pennies were added to the cup at each interval, and in response to the addition, the
force consistently increased by 0.20 N. This demonstrated an upward trending linear
relationship, as can be seen in Figure 1. The slope, or m, represents the weight of a
penny, which, is shown in Figure 1 as 0.025 N. The x values represent the
independent variable, which is the # of pennies, while the y values represent the
dependent variable, force (N). Slope can be represented as the change in the force
(N) divided by the change in the # of coins. The value for slope in this data set
represents the force per coin. The y intercept value (b) is 0, which is the y value ...

Initially, 1 dime was added to the cup, followed by the addition of 1 penny, then 1
nickel, and finally 1 quarter. The idea was to add the coins in order from the
lightest coin in weight (dime) to the heaviest (quarter) in order to get an upward
trend line. When 1 dime was added to the cup, the force was 0.03 N, however,
when a penny was added to the cup, the force was increased to a total of 0.05 N.
This represented only a 0.02 N change when the penny was added. This
information is inferring that a dime weighs more than a penny, however, this is
not true. An error that may have occurred could be that the penny was added
before the dime was added. Therefore, the penny would have weighed 0.3 N and
the dime would have weighed 0.2 N. However, the information in Table 3 does
demonstrate that the nickel weighs less than the quarter, but more than the penny
and dime, giving an upward trend line. The slope of the line passing through points
(1,0.03) and (4,0.2) is 0.056 N. Therefore, 0.056 N is the average weight of the
coins. The x values represent the # of coins, the y values represent the force (N),
and the y intercept value is 0. Initially, a linear graph was generated for Figure 3,
however, the trend line did not pass through each point on the graph and the R2
value was .82. Therefore, a polynomial trend line was incorporated into the graph, as
seen in Figure 3. The
Summary Of Out Of My Mind
Out of My Mind is a novel by Sharon M. Draper. In this novel, Melody Brooks is an
eleven year old girl with cerebral palsy. Melody s body is stiff and uncooperative,
forcing her to use a wheelchair. Her mind works well, but she cannot speak.
Melody hates her boring special education classes and the fact that she cannot
make her thoughts and opinions known, even to her parents. Hence Melody has to
fight to get what she wants. Eventually, Melody is given a computer that helps her
speak and communicate in a regular fifth grade class. Melody even gets the
opportunity to participate in a trivia competition. Unfortunately, even great success
cannot change opinions of those who cannot see beyond the physical. This is a
fact Melody is forced to face despite everything she accomplishes. Out of My Mind
is a brilliant novel that takes the reader into the world of an amazing eleven year
old girl who eventually realizes she is no different from the kids around her
despite her body s disabilities. Melody Brooks was born with cerebral palsy. Her
parents have done all they can to help her live a normal life, but life is often
frustrating for Melody because she cannot speak or communicate her wishes. In
fact, Melody was even diagnosed as profoundly retarded when she was five.
Despite this, Melody s mother enrolled her in public school to give her the
opportunities she needed to succeed. Mrs. V., Melody s neighbor, is a kind, but
tough woman, who pushes Melody to do the best she can. Mrs.
Why Become A Cardiologist
Have you ever wanted to help someone that was hurt or unable to heal on their
own? Have you ever felt the need to assist in saving someone s life? That s what I
would love to accomplish when I grow up and I believe that cardiology would be the
best fit for me! Cardiology has always been a part of me in certain ways. When I was
younger, I would always say that I would wish to be a cop or a soldier within the
army, but then again what eight year old boy didn t say that. As I began to grow
physically and mentally, my view of the world became much more transparent, and I
began to lean towards the profession of cardiology. From there, leaning lead to
believing, and that s where I currently stand, for I strongly believe that cardiology is

In addition to the circumstances that I had, there are other reasonings as to why
cardiology intrigues me. My second reason as to why I would like to become a
cardiologist is the fact that I would be able to lend a hand to people and charities.
If that doesn t appeal to your brain, then let me break it down for you. If I were to
become a cardiologist, then I would help save lives, but I would also acquire a
high salary. The average salary of a well worked and well payed cardiologist would
be around the sum of 300 thousand dollars! With such a massive source of income,
I could relinquish my profits within charities with the greatest needs. That way, I
could help multitudes of people in need. Needless to say, due to the immense
income I would be receiving, I would be able to do more than just donate to
charities and work in a hospital for I would be able to set up free clinics and put my
time and effort into important causes. That way I can be satisfied whilst at work and
in free time with the effort I would put in. That is just one other reason as to why I
feel that cardiology would be the pathway into a
The Assassination Of Abraham Lincoln
In the year 1865 on April 14, five days after Robert E. Lee surrendered at
Appomattox Courthouse, one of America s greatest presidents, Abraham Lincoln,
was shot and killed by a man named John Wilkes Booth. Specifically, John Wilkes
Booth was an American play actor and a big sympathiser for the Confederacy. Booth
was well known for his hatred towards the President and his crazy ideas and motives,
which lead to the killing of Lincoln. Many conspiracies and theories today believed
the assassination of Abraham Lincolnwas handled by John Wilkes alone, but other
conspiracies believed that he did work with other conspirators. Personally, I believe
that John Wilkes Boothidea of wanting the President dead was all of his doing. His
intentions for murdering Abraham Lincoln was out of pure hatred towards the man
and towards the Union, but for the obvious reason Booth could not of acted entirely
alone. Reasons being he could not kill the Vice President Andrew Johnson, the
Secretary of State William Seward, and the President Abraham Lincoln all in one
night on his own. John Wilkes Booth needed supporters to help with his own
elaborate plan. For instance, the article Abraham Lincoln s Assassination claimed, he
[John Wilkes Booth] and several associates hatched a plot to kidnap the president
and take him to Richmond, the Confederate capital...the day of the planned
kidnapping, Lincoln failed to appear at the spot where Booth and his six fellow
conspirators lay in wait

Compare My Last Duchess And Porphyria s Lover
Love That Kills
(Comparing and Contrasting of My Last Duchess and Porphyria s Lover ) While
reading the poems My Last Duchess and Porphyria s Lover by Robert Browning,
there is a large possibility that you may be left haunted by the words that were
written on the paper. This is not to say that he was blandly optimistic, as he is
sometimes portrayed. He wrote fully about the world s cruelty and vice and was
quite frank that he had himself had no divine revelation. Nevertheless, he resolved to
hope rather than to doubt; and this determined hopefulness remains a comfort and
inspiration for many (Baylor). While reading Browning s poetry, people often
become concerned with who he might have been. The truth is, he lived as an ... Show

In Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess we are able to conclude that there are
many similarities. My Last Duchess can be seen as diverse when compared to the
poem Porphyria s Lover . In this poem, Robert Browning tells of a story of a man
who is searching for a new wife after the death of his old one. The only dilemma is
the minutiae of how this prosperous Duke felt of his last lady. It s precisely her
heart (effusive) and her gaze (delighted) that infuriates the Duke (Guthrie). The
Duke who speaks in this poem, implies the idea that because his last wife was so
happy, he had no other option other than to kill her. In the poem, it says A heart
how shall I say? too soon made glad, too easily impressed; she liked whate er Sir
(line 21). The Duke feels that because this woman was ecstatic from all things, it
took her attention away from him. Because this idea overwhelmed him, he was
filled with fury and told her to be cautious in what she expressed. She must not have
complied, as she did not live to continue out the life they planned to spend together.
Porphyria s Lover is easily comparable to the poem My Last Duchess which were
both written by Robert Browning who is well known for his dramatic monologue. In
this poem, Porphyria s lover, a man, nonchalantly realizes the lady he is spending his
time with has established love for him. Chillingly, an analyzer of this poem wrote, It

Algonquin Natives In Black Robe
The film Black Robe is set in New France, later known as Quebec in 1634. A young
Jesuit priest and his companion are sent through the wilderness to find the Huron
Mission. They are escorted by the Algonquin Natives. This 1500 mile journey begins
in late fall and continues through the harsh winter, leaving survival seemingly slim to
impossible.
Different PerspectivesThe perspectives of both the Jesuit priest and the Algonquin
Natives are both shown. This film portrays both the Native and White men as human
beings, instead of saints or villains all have their own personal and cultural flaws, but
yet they all act morally correct according to each set of culture beliefs. The Jesuit

It shows us a time when Christians were convinced of their rightness. I think it also
gives us a deeper understanding as to what the Natives lives were like, the
hardships they went through. I also believe the scenery, the buildings and housing,
and the items the Europeans used to trade with the Natives was shown quite
accurately. As to my personal reaction to the film at first I was on the side of Jesuit
priest, cheering him on his mission, sympathizing with him in his lack of
understanding the environment and the Algonquians their language, rituals and
beliefs. As the movie progressed my opinion changed and I found the priest rather
unforgiving towards Daniels attraction and relationship to Annuka, he seem lacking
in compassion when trying to get his Christian message across and is pretty
adamant and pushy trying to get Chomina to accept Christ when he was dying,
when all Chomina wanted to do was die and peace and be with his people. As a
Christian myself, I actually became rather upset and enraged with how the
Europeans went in with the idea that they were right and the Algonquians were
wrong. I don t think anyone belief system or anyone culture is more correct than
another and that it was pretty arrogant and conceited of the Europeans to believe this
was the case. The Natives had a strong belief system in the earth, wind and spirits, I
don t believe they needed or wanted

According to Ahlqvist, T (2008), social media is the social interaction among

The different social media channels are: Facebook: Facebook is a popular free

alternate popular part is the virtual Photo Album. Photographs can be transferred

Colonial Virginia Religion
Numerous times during my life, various acquaintances, no doubt in an effort to
interrupt a verbose rant on current affairs, have politely presented me with the
familiar adage never discuss politics or religion at the dinner table. To many
historians, and this is certainly true of those who study the colonial era of British
North America, religion is a vital element to recreating and understanding a society
familiar to most of us, yet all too often misunderstood. Unlike your well intentioned
family member who is trying nothing more than to assure a pleasant dinner void of
any violence, historians must push through this veil of politeness and venture into an
area likely to foster intense feelings of support or condemnation depending on the...

There are several well cited and lamented reasons for these limited surviving
documents. Demographically, especially in the seventeenth and early eighteenth
century, Virginia was populated primarily with poorly educated and largely illiterate
small tobacco planters who were far more concerned with harvesting their crop then
penning their thoughts in journals or overseas correspondence. This leads to an over
representation of the elite Gentry in surviving documents, whose superior education,
domination of the House of Burgesses, and ample free time allowed increased
opportunities to put their thoughts and feelings on paper. Court records should
provide a well of original documentation for the colony since the royal government
established an extensive system of county courts beginning in 1632. Unfortunately,
the tendency for county records buildings to catch on fire was so common during the
eighteenth and nineteenth centuries that only a handful of counties survive, and only
one, the Accomack/Northampton County, in its entirety. Finally, because of the weak
presence of the Church of England within the colony, both in the number of churches
and resident clergy, far fewer religious writings exist relative to similar periods in
Puritan founded New England. Interestingly, a recent scholar has theorized that the
main reason why Anglican ministers wrote so few religious documents was not their

The President Of The United States Essay
Preparing to Pass the Baton
The president of the United States, Barack Obama, will be leaving the oval office
after serving his presidency for two terms. In January there will be a new
commander in chief in charge of leading our nation. Whether it is Trump, Clinton,
or a surprise candidate that takes the role of president, there will be change. A lot
will change with a new president, there will be new laws, new policies, and a new
face of America. But one of the most important changes that everyone is and will be
concerned about is the state of the economy. Whether our economy will rise, fall, or
stay the same as it is now we will have to wait to find that out. Each candidate has
different plans, policies, and ideas to help improve the United States. Some ideas
similar to that of our current president but with their own personal twist on it and
some completely opposite of his. Starting in January of 2017 our nation will have
a new leader and he or she will impact the future of the American economy. Obama
has served as president for the past eight years and his time has finally come to
hang up his position as the leader of our nation, and be ready to welcome somebody
new into the oval office. President Obama took office in the middle of the worst
financial crisis since the Great Depression. We had our worst economic performance
in 60 years, with GDP contracting 9.8%. Four million Americans lost their jobs
before the president s inauguration and another four million also
Essay on Duddy s Focus on Wealth
In my opinion, The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, a book written by Mordecai
Richler, is ultimately about money. Simcha Kravitz, Duddy s grandfather, would
tell Duddy as a child that a man without land is nobody. These words encouraged
him to live his life in a manner in which he would do anything he could in order to
obtain the land that a nobody would not possess. But Duddy does not solely focus
his desires on land; instead, his goals are set on wealth in general.
In order to acquire wealth, Duddy engages in acts of dishonesty and deceit. He does
this by exploiting the weaknesses of his friends, such as Virgil Roseboro and Yvette
Durelle, while completely disregarding the fact that by doing this, his dignity and ...

Duddy ends up forging Virgil s signature on a check in order to access Virgil s bank
account and steal his money. Although this money help s Duddy purchase the
remainder of his land, in the process he becomes a despised and wretched tyrant.
Not only does this result in the annihilation of Duddy s friendship with Virgil, but
also results in the loss of Yvette s respect for Duddy. It becomes quite obvious that
Duddy did not value his friendships as much as he did his wealth, as if he did, he
would ve earned money the proper way, as a waiter, and wouldn t have resorted to
such ruthless acts in order to attain complacency. It s quite disappointing to learn
how he would sacrifice the only loving relationship he ever had (with Yvette) just so
he can obtain land. Normally, a person who lived a life devoid of love would be
desperate to acquire it. However, Duddy still decided to pursue his dreams of owning
land on the contrary to pursuing a loving relationship that his life was in need of.
Come to think of it, Duddy s life has been morally derailed ever since he was a
child. As a child, he took advantage of the fact that as a minor, he was not susceptible
to lawsuits. He broke the law frequently in attempt to obtain more wealth. Such
examples of this would include his fraudulent behaviour with stamp companies, his
selling of stolen hockey sticks, and his distribution of pornographic comic books. In
an entrepreneurial sense, Duddy had the correct goals;
The Outsiders Movie And Book Comparison
Outsiders Movie/Book Comparison Have you ever read the book The Outsiders ?
Have you ever seen the movie? Both these are good stories and there are many
many similarities. In fact the movie is praised for how much it is like the book.
Although there are many similarities, there are differences as well. What are these
differences? Let s find out First up is the similarities. The first similarity is that all
the characters are exactly the same in the book and the movie. Darry is still older
than Pony and works all the time, Soda is still the middleman in a war between
Darry and Ponyboy, Pony is still the youngest and hates Dally most of the time,
Dallas is still a punk, etc. The next similarity is that all major plot points are still

Case Study Of Disneyland
I would like to choose Hong Kong Disneyland (Case 6 20) for conducting an
analysis. The Walt Disney Company was created in 1923. The mission of the
company is to provide superior entertainment experiences for the guests of all ages.
Walt Disney Company opened the two theme parks in United State. Afterwards, they
adopted the international expansion strategy which opened Disney in Tokyo and
Paris. However, the outcomes of theme parks in Tokyo and Paris were very extreme.
Tokyo Disney Resortwas one of the most successful theme park in the world. On the
Contrary, Disney Resort Paris was much less successful. The major reason causes this
extreme result was the cultural differences between two countries which I would
discover below.

At the beginnings, there were some startup problems encountered by them. The
first problem was about the miscalculation on the capacity limit of the park. The
capacity limit of park which HKDL estimated was 30,000 visitors per day. On the
first day of the operation, there were 29,000 guests entered the park. This caused
the average waiting time for the attractions more than two hours. And the average
queuing time of the restaurants was 45 minutes. HKDL has experienced the lesson
and decrease the capacity limit afterwards. On the other hand, they extend the park
s opening time by one hour and encourage weekdays visit by providing several
discounts to solve this problem. The second issue which HKDL had restricted the
police or the inspectors from hygiene department to get into the park. Unless there is
a pre arrangement with the park s security department. For examples, a guest and his

Dragon Persuasive Essay
Do you ever think about fire breathing, winged, scaly, sharp teethed lizards? Then you
might be thinking about dragons. Some say that dragon are terrifying and mythical
creatures, others say that they can be magnificent and beautiful.I think that dragons
may be kind and carefull creatures.Lets see if we can make you think that too.
My first reason,to why dragon are nice creatures,is because dragons can be
protective.Dragons have a naterul instinct to protect the people or creatures that
raised them,so if you raise a dragon, they may have the naturel instinct to protect
you.It isn t just about raising a dragon either. If you rescue a dragon when it s injured

Essay On Art History 6k
The item that I chose for my Art History 6K Project is a ceramic plate made in
Egypt, or more specifically, Fayyoum. The label accompanying the art piece
included a year, 2007, which I assume is the date in which the piece was found. The
plate is made of clay, hardened through heat, and finished with a glossy sealer. The
colorscheme of the plate is very bright and colorful giving off a happy vibe. The
ceramic plate itself is an off white color with splashes of blue and green throughout.
Due to the bright color composition, it must ve been used during celebrations of
some sort. Despite not able to feel the plate, I assumed the surface to be rough
because the plate was covered in tiny holes. At first it appeared to be flecks of paint,
however,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It could ve been purposefully done, but judging from how uneven and blotchy the
color is, it makes more sense to assume that the area had been worn out. If this is the
case then what was placed there that could have created that mark? And what was the
purpose of the brown square in the middle of the plate? The outline around the
square has a lot of depth so I inferred that the outline was created not through paint
but was rather carved out. I thought that the plate could ve been used for food,
however, if it was then there wouldn t be a need for the brown square in the
middle. In general, what was this ceramic plate used for if not for food? Another
thing that I found interesting was that in the back of the plate, there are four moon
shaped platform to help raise the plate. The platform was placed in the middle and
in the formation so that it looked like the corners of a square. I think the reason
why the ceramic plate is raised is because it was probably used to hold something
important. This work of art relates to a broader religious context because the
calligraphy used on it reminds me of the calligraphy used in the Qur an that we
discussed about it

The poem opens with the line Hope is the thing with feather. In this line, persona
associated hope and bird and made a metaphor. Then it follows like this, That
perches in the soul/ And sings the tune without words/ And never stops at all. In
these lines, persona thinks that hope is like a singing bird, even though sometimes
it doesn t speak to us, eternally it will stay permanent in us. Also by mentioning,
hope as a permanent thing in inside of us, allows us to acquire most of what life
gives to us. The second stanza creates some kind of opposition for the hope, and in
this stanza persona metaphorically describe a person, who destroys his/her hope.
By saying, And sore must be the storm/That could abash the little bird/ That kept
so many warm, persona used an impressive metaphor by associating storm with
anger and negativity. The storm abash the bird (hope) and cause pain and
discomfort hurts it. In the fourth stanza, with the following line which is I ve heard
it in the chilliest lands, persona tried to make her reader to believe in hope, she tried
to convince that hope is everywhere. In the last two lines, Yet never in extremity/ It

The Pros And Cons Of Vending Machines
It is not only GMOs foods that threat our health as Americans. There is an epidemic
in the US that needs to be addressed, child obesity. One of third of children in the
US between the ages of 6 to 19 is overweight or obese. In addition, child obesity
needs to be addressed at an early age, because in estimate 80% of obese children
become obese adults per federal statistics. One main reason is that our children spend
most of the week in school, their school hours are almost equal to adult working
hours. Therefore, the foodthey eat in school is crucial to their healthand development,
but the foods and beverage they purchase in the school s vending machine is not
healthy enough, and contain high calories (State, 609). These days the vending
machine industry and the food companies seek school monopolies to be the only
one to sell to schools, and the key to making the most money is to sell a nutritionally
fat food for the lowest price (American, 155).... Show more content on

However, those laws are not specific or just serve as a recommendation for the foods
and beverages companies. There is an urgent need for firm laws that will restrict or
prohibit the food and vending machines companies (State, 612). In addition. the
government tried other ways of delivering better nutrition to children in schools in the
form of subsidizing hot lunch program, but schools barely break even on this type of
food. As a result, schools let vending companies sell in their schools and accumulate
some of the revenue from the vending machines, maybe if those foods, beverages,
and vending companies would pick better food for our children we will not have to
criticize this industry all the time (American, 155). Child obesity should be addressed
and can be with the help of the government that must maintain a healthy environment

Antonio Lucio Vivaldi Inspiration
The renowned baroque composer, Antonio Lucio Vivaldi, was born on the 4th of
March, 1678, in Venice, Italy to Giovanni Battista Vivaldi and Camilla Calicchio.
During childhood, he found himself surrounded by his five siblings, Margarita
Gabriela, Cecilia Maria, Bonaventura Tomaso, Zanetta Anna, and Francesco
Gaetano Giovanni Battista. Francesco, like Vivaldi, would find music to be his
calling. He would later teach a young Vivaldi the art of the violin. Vivaldi s younger
years were hard for him; he suffered from strettezza di petto, tightness of the chest; in
other words, he had asthma. His asthma would prevent him from playing any wind
instruments for the rest of his life. When Vivaldi became a young adult, he pursued

sixty religious vocal pieces, multiple sonatas and cantatas, and an absolute multitude

having been voted out of the position of maestro di coro (choirmaster) a year earlier

Ethics in the Automotive Repair Industry Essay
Ethics in the Automotive Repair Industry
Another memorable encounter took place in San Antonio, when I pulled into a
transmission repair shop. The owner test drove the Olds with me in the pasenger
seat. As we climbed a hill, the car seemed to be straining. I looked down and noted
that he had one foot on the gas and the other on the brake. boy, it ain t got no power at
all in second gear, he said. It s real obvious the clutches are burnt. His solution:
rebuild the transmission for $395 to $495, depending on if I can save the torque

Everyday at noon the mechanics sat down for lunch and I joined them. Around that
lunch table they imparted to me several stories over the course of several weeks
about some of the things they had experienced and ways in which they had actually
taken advantage of paying customers. One mechanic told me how he watched his
boss sell several very expensive engine parts to a little old lady. He told me that he
had to leave the area because he started laughing so hard because of all the
unnecessary parts his boss was selling the woman. However he did nothing to step
in and stop the woman from being taken advantage of, or to stop his boss or even
recommend something less expensive. He told this story as if he was proud at the
way his boss had swindled the woman. There was not even a though of remorse, or
a consideration to weather this type of business was ethical or not, it was simply the
way business was, and is, done.
When a standard tune up was preformed on a car it was just an excuse to find as
many things as possible to charge the customer for. For example if any of the fluids
in the engine were not filled to the top the mechanics would refill it and charge the
customer for the service. The fluid level was not in any way dangerously low, or in
many cases even remotely low. Many times fluids in the engine that were at the
normal level were

Second, I also learnt how to bring forward innovation and put it into practice. Through

utilize core competence. As students who were for public benefit, we easily won
more support from the society, which facilitated many business cooperation chances
for farmers. Fortunately, based on the model and outcome of project, our team won
runner up out of 200 prestigious universities in the Enactus National Competition in
2015. At that time, I was sure that entrepreneurship was all about catching the
opportunity, taking action and pursuing success. What further honed my
entrepreneurship was my following entrepreneurial experience. After evaluating the
honey comb, I found a market opportunity: there were more targeted customers and
fewer competitors; besides, the profit margin of honey comb is 30% higher than that
of honey. Consequently, I co founded a honey product brand, Chasing Man, with
three other partners. We improved the product by giving up plastic that was widely
used as the pack of honey comb, and by pouring 60% of the money into bamboo

New York City Similarities
In the north and south of the United States, there are many differences in culture. The
weather, the population, and the economy are a few. They both have the same
language but are spoken in two different accents. You can always tell the difference
between the two.
New York City is in the northern part of the United States and is considered the
city that never sleeps. It is also known as The Big Apple . People are walking the
streets, eating at restaurants and going to bars at all hours of the night. Tourist
come to see the attractions and to go shopping. There are many ways of
transportation: train, bus, cab, car, or walking. Public transportation is twenty four
hours a day and seven days a week and is their main source of getting around town.
Housing is mostly apartments or condos that are for rent. Most people do not own
their own homes or own a vehicle, because they cannot afford it. The cost of living
in New York Cityis more expensive than most popular cities. The rent for a one
bedroom apartment is around 3,000 an month. Childcare is close to 2,000 an
month. In order to maintain a comfortable lifestyle most New Yorkers make close
to 7,000 dollars a month. The population is 8,537,673 as of 2016 and as many as
800 languages spoken there. People often keep to themselves and really have no
time to get to know each other, because it is a fast pace environment. It has the
largest foreign born population in the world and 61 million tourists go there for

Close Relationships Between Bacteria And Archaea
. Bacteria and Archaea are split into separate domains because bacteria include all
pathogenic prokaryotes, as well as nonpathogenic prokaryotes that are found in soil
and H2O. What are also found in this domain are photoautotrophic prokaryotes.
Archaea includes prokaryotes that do not have peptidoglycan in their cell walls.
Prokaryotes are mostly related to eukaryotes than they are to different prokaryotes.
This is when they were split into two domains.

and it made Chrysler s financial situation worse.
In order to save itself, Chrysler was attempting to seek restructure opportunities. In
August and October 2008, Chrysler negotiated with Nissan and General Motors
respectively. However, as the poor performance of General Motors in the crisis, the
negotiation didn t proceed then. At the end of 2008, Fiat and Chrysler began to
discuss the merger.
On 19th December 2009, Chrysler closed all the manufacture operation to reduce its
cost as well as to make its stock meet the market demand. At the same time, Chrysler
laid off 32 thousand employees to reduce its expenditure.
Also, Chrysler had asked US government for help. By the end of 2008, US
government provided $4 billion to rescue this auto giant. Then the US government
pressurized the creditors (the debt valued $6.9 billion) made significant concessions.
And four main loan institution with 70% liability agreed settle these debts with $2

Personal Skills And Knowledge Of Formatting
The purpose of assignment one is to gain practical skills and knowledge of
formatting. With regards to plots and tables, I will learn the proper way of
designing them to fit the specific formatting needs. This will greatly assist me
when I write technical lab reports for this class and in industry. It is essential to be
able to thoroughly and completely follow directions in order to maintain a good
standing with an employer or a professor. Not only is being able to format a great
skill to have and to hone for your own benefit, it is also at the benefit of an employer

Thermodynamic Properties of Alkanes
The goal of task one is to organize and format data corresponding to the normal
boiling points of straight chain alkanes, their enthalpies of vaporization, the normal
boiling points of alkanes with 1 alcohols, their enthalpies of vaporization, the normal
boiling points of 1 monochlorinated alkanes, and their enthalpies of vaporization.
Table s 1, 2 and 3, shown below, organize this information.
Table 1: Normal boiling points and enthalpies of vaporization for straight chained
alkanes (data from CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics1)

will be in his best interest to increase the prices of the old books.
Methods to Determine Profit Maximizing Quantity
Choosing to increase the price of his old books would seem as though he is
making a bad business decision, but it will allow an increase in revenue to take
place. Mr. Bury can calculate is total revenue by examining how much the quantity
of good sold and then multiply it by its price. This type method is used to measure
how much money a company makes from selling its products; before any cost are

increasing profits to takes place. When analyzing the current for the newer books

are essential to the function of any organization, however some of these special units
might evolve into feeling superior to the rest of the agency. The mentality of doing it

When this loyalty to the subculture becomes too strong, the unity that follows can
adversely affect the ethical values of the officers (Martin 2011). This type of work
environment causes officers to feel like they are doing what is wanted by their
organizations and the public and the officers may continue with the behavior because
the pressure to produce results is greater than that to follow the rules. A law
enforcement department might choose to punish an individual, but the fear of
punishment usually is not enough to change unwanted behavior (Martin 2011). With
all of the temptation, attempts to fit into a subculture, and desire to please superiors,
mentoring younger officers becomes extremely important. Mentoring can either
allow corruption to spread, or it can be also be nipped in the bud. With these issues
at hand, it is important that law enforcement agencies invest in upstanding
supervisors and leaders in their departments because according to statistics, leaders
have a significant impact in preventing corruption and therefore play a significant
role in the agencies in which they serve. Therefore, it becomes imperative that
effective leaders who share the same goals be in place to set the standard for
subordinates to see and emulate (Martin 2011). However; while leaders certainly play
a critical role in forming the future leaders and overall atmosphere of the organization,
they alone cannot ensure that high levels
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cost Accounting
Historical cost can be defined as the original cost of an asset during transaction and
recorded in an organization s accounting record. Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles stated that assets and liabilities must be recorded in balance sheet with
original cost which is the purchasing cost during that time. The historical cost
accounting often used in the condition where prices are constant or change slowly
and yet, it does not affect the purchasing power of an item. There is no doubt on

Net realizable value is an exist value, an estimate of the amount an asset could be sold

are discussed as below:
One of the advantages of current value accounting is relevant for making decisions.
This is because the market value of the current value accounting represents the
current cost of economic transactions. Therefore, the information that provide are
more appropriate and more useful because it always update to the latest information
in market. It is better to use the latest information to make decisions rather than using
previous information for measurement.
On the other hand, current value accounting provides an efficiency measurement.
This is because the profit of the good or services will be separated and recorded as
the business s asset before it sold. The separation of business gain and business asset
must be done to make sure the accuracy of calculation for a

Robert Francis Kennedy, also commonly called by his nickname Bobby , was born
on November 20, 1925 in Brookline, Massachusetts. Robert F. Kennedy was the
seventh of nine children born to Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose
Kennedy. While growing up, Robert Kennedy was reported to be very combative,

In 1959, Robert Kennedy left the Senate Subcommittee to manage his brother s (John
F. Kennedy) 1960 successful campaign for the Office of President of the United
States. After his brother was elected and took office, Robert Kennedy was
appointed as US Attorney General. When he was appointed there were a lot of
charges of nepotism from his brother, but those charges quickly fell by the wayside
due to the all of the great work and successful prosecutions that Robert Kennedy did
for and during the fight of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960 s. During Robert
Kennedy s reign as the Attorney General of the United States, he faced with his

Bay of Pigs invasion of 1961, The Cuban Missile Crisis which took place just 18
months after the Bay of Pigs, the escalating military presence and war in Vietnam,
and the Civil Rights Movement. It has always been a well known fact that Robert

An Abortion in the Poem, The Mother by by Gwendolyn
Brooks
The poem The Mother by Gwendolyn Brooks is about the aftereffects and feelings
that come from an abortion. The woman in the poem shows remorse over the
children she aborted earlier in her life and regrets that she gave up the chance to be
a mother to them. This poem, while about a woman who chose to have abortions,
still carries with it a clear pro life message. The woman in the poem is clearly
someone who feels guilt over the abortions she has had. She shows her regrets
through describing what someone will never be able to do after having an abortion. In
this she includes the bad things that mothers can do like, You will never neglect or
beat/Them, or silence or buy with a sweet, as well as those acts that people
commonly associated as maternal such as protecting the children from imaginary
ghosts, You will never wind up the sucking thumb/Or scuttle off ghosts that come.
Then she switches the style she uses and instead of talking about what happens if a
person in general has an abortion, she starts to talk about herself and her own
experiences. She feels haunted by these unborn children of hers, shown from the
line, I have heard in the voices of the wind the voices of my dim killed children.
These voices that she hears aren t real and nobody but her can hear them. This is her
guilt over having the abortions manifesting itself in her mind. The wind is a
metaphor for the guilt because on some days, guilt can be stronger, more assertive,
and affects her more than

Examples Of Anti-Semitism In The Prioress s Tale
This cursed Jew hym hente Anti Semitism, Despotism, and recognition of the bereft

It is a third generation anti Semitism. First it was religious in nature. Today, the
Jewish state is attacked and that is the new anti Semitism. What they have in
common is that in all versions, Jews are seen as absolute evil. Manfred Gerstenfeld.
Though Gerstenfeld is writing about the twenty first century, his comments are just as
applicable in the fourteenth. In Chaucer s Prioress s Tale, Chaucer s Prioress

In this passage, the author s ideology of contamination within the tale, not only
relates to the boy who was murdered, but also within the Jewish community and the
act of baptism as a way to wash away the dirt and grime of Jewish practices and
beliefs. Given these points, it can be concluded that Chaucer has written this Tale
based on his cultural beliefs and biases. The setting of the tale is in Asye, or
modern day Turkey a medieval country with a sizeable Muslim population. Could
Chaucer s Prioress have been biased against Jews and presented this poem against
their community because of the fear that he and many others had of the Islamic
invasion? Catholic Clergy also resented the frequent prominence of Jews as
government officials in Islamic regimes both in Spain and abroad. (Delany, Chaucer s

Harvoni Medicine: An Advanced Way To Treat Hepatitis C Virus
A few years ago, Hepatitis C was a scary term for many of us. But, today the
medical problem is curable as there are various and advanced ways available. The
improvement in the treatment is especially notable because experts have worked
harder to obtain this success. Still, there are some significant changes are left and
hopefully they will be completed soon. Presently, the HCV treatments get rid of the
virus in merely slightly more than half of all sufferers. The medicines also have
unnecessary side effects that make it complicated or not possible for some patients to

The approved medicine is a combination of two medicines called Harvoni. The
combination holds antiviral medicines Sofosbuvir and Ledipasvir. The effective
combination takes around 8 24 weeks to heal the pain of HCV. Patients taking this
new combination work as much as lower risk of dangerous side effects related to the
typical treatment for hepatitis C virus. HCV medication online is available with this
useful combination. Regrettably, the cost of these medicines is higher than normal
medications. The higher cost of the medication simply means that some patients who
require it might not be appropriate for it, but it has been called as a most important
breakthrough in the treatment of hepatitis C.
How this combination works?
Hepatitis c medicine online cost is as similar as normal stores. As we know that, the
Harvoni medicine has two anti viral medicines to target the different levels of
Hepatitis C virus. Sofosbuvir is known as a nucleotide analogue HCV polymerase
inhibitor, it means it chunk the polymerase enzyme. This enzyme is required to
reproduce. While, Ledipasvir is recognized as an HCV NS5A duplication
multifaceted inhibitor that obstructs with an additional protein HCV uses to imitate.

The demand for money
Exam question: The demand for money is purely a transactionary demand. Discuss
The objective of this question is to discuss the statement: The demand for money is
purely a transactionary demand. This essay will begin by with determination of money
. It will show that it is usual to distinguish three reasons why people want to hold their
assets in the form of money. And these reasons are: the transactions motive, the
precautionary motive and the asset or speculative motive. These motives are known
as theories of money demand.

It can be seen that if the interest rate rises then the price of such fixed return bonds
fall, making bonds less attractive proposition to investors than money. When the
price of such fixed return bond rises, then they are more attractive for an investor
than money. Some investors will expect the rate of interest to rise, while others
will expect it to fall. When the rate of interest is realised to be unduly high by
individuals, most will assume that the next move is in a downward direction.
When the rate of interest falls, the price of bonds increases and so there are capital
gains to be made. When the rate of interest is high there will be a substantial
demand for bonds and hence a low speculative demand to hold money. If, however,
the rate of interest is perceived to be unduly low then most individuals will assume
that the next move is upwards, resulting in a fall in bond prices and, therefore, a
capital loss for those who own bonds. The speculative demand for money to hold
will be high when people owing bonds are looking to sell them before the price falls.
This is a speculative demand (SD) for money. A fall in the rate of interest from r1 to
r2 leads to an expansion in the speculative demand for money. At a low rate of
interest r3, the speculative demand for money is perfectly elastic. And everyone
Grease Music Differences
Musicals have been around for many years, but one of the most notable is Grease.
It is has become known throughout the entire world. With Grease being a
phenomenal musical, FOX decided to perform a live version back in 2016, 38
years after the original musical. There was many difference in both versions due
to one being a movie and the other a live performance. It is one of kind, which lead
to many people arguing that the original is better. Factors that contribute to the
debate are the cast, songs, and set design. All in all, people respect the live version
because it is hard to pull off in one take. The characters in the two cast were
portrayed similarity. Sandy Olsson stood out to me the most because in the live
version she is not from Australia instead of Ohio, which means she would not have
an accent. This was most likely done because it would be harder for the actor to pull
off the accent throughout the entire show.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Grease songs specifically, You re the one that I want , is known from different age
groups. The song lyrics and concept stayed the same. It was most likely done
because they did not want to change it because that scene had the most success.
Many argue the music should never change because it will not attract a new
audience if that is their goal. Betty Rizzo, sung a song, Look at me , which
included an Italian curse word but it was replaced with another line in the live
version. There were also changes in who sang what song. For example, Those
Magic Changes is being played as background music for them to be dancing and in
the live performance, it is being sung by a T bird, Doody. In the film, Freddy My
Love is played on the jukebox and in the live version it was sung by the Pink Ladies.
This was done because it would create a more intimate moment with the audience
watching. The live performance also includes a new solo for Frenchie to demonstrate

Kubbrick Dr Strangelove
Kubrick dramatizes the absurdity of Cold War Logic throughout the whole movie
Dr. Strangelove. In the pre film lecture we talked about the two cornerstone ideas
in Cold War America. First, democracy was the highpoint of human history and
things were based on technological advances. Second, was that communism was
the only real danger to America which is why mutually assured destruction (MAD)
was created. In this particular scene, Kubrick is using the doomsday machine as a
direct representation of MAD. They describe the machine as essentially having a
mind of its own; once it is triggered it cannot be untriggered. The absurdity of this
whole idea is that if one side believes the other will attack, they start a nuclear war.

There are a plenty of activities that summer camps involve children in: rope courses,

I remember a case when all our group at Baldauren was punished because the one in

However, in 2017, the disasters required over three hundred and ten billion dollars

CNN reported last month that only twenty six percent of the electricity in Puerto
Rico had been restored since the hurricane ripped through in September (Levenson,

electricity and clean water. By the time Irma reached Florida, it regained momentum
and flooded Miami with over twenty inches of rain (Weather Channel, 2017). This
resulted in a state of emergency and complete shutdown of the city. Also, Orlando
and Walt Disney World experienced some aggressive winds and thunderstorms.
Wildfires engulfing California reached ten billion dollars in repair costs. This
estimated cost was shared before the fires roared into Southern California. Solutions
to this continued problem could include reserving more funds into the natural
disasters budget. This would provide a safety net for the citizens of the affected state
along with the salaries of those helping such as firefighters and

Capital Punishment Essay Conclusion.pdf

  • 1. Capital Punishment Essay Conclusion Crafting an essay on the conclusion of capital punishment can be a formidable task, requiring a delicate balance between presenting compelling arguments and maintaining a nuanced perspective. The complexity of the topic demands a thorough understanding of the ethical, legal, and social dimensions surrounding capital punishment. To begin with, one must delve into the extensive body of literature and legal precedents related to capital punishment. This involves sifting through historical cases, legal doctrines, and evolving societal attitudes to form a comprehensive view. Analyzing the various ethical frameworks is equally challenging, as differing cultural and moral perspectives influence how individuals perceive the legitimacy of capital punishment. The difficulty intensifies when attempting to develop a nuanced conclusion that addresses the multifaceted nature of the issue. One must consider not only the moral and ethical implications but also the legal frameworks in place and potential societal repercussions. Striking a balance between empathy for victims and understanding the potential flaws in the justice system adds an additional layer of intricacy to the essay. Moreover, crafting a conclusion that encapsulates the essence of the entire essay while leaving a lasting impact on the reader is a delicate art. It requires skillful summarization, seamlessly weaving together diverse perspectives and arguments presented throughout the essay. The writer must strive to avoid oversimplification and instead offer a thoughtful synthesis of the complexities surrounding capital punishment. In conclusion, writing an essay on the conclusion of capital punishment demands a deep dive into the subject matter, rigorous research, and the ability to navigate the intricate web of ethical, legal, and social considerations. • 2. Gun Control And School Safety Guns in the Classroom Destiny Casey Student ID# 000410720 WGU Guns in the Classroom Allowing teachers to carry guns will allow teachers to prevent school shootings on the grounds of preschool through college campuses. Everyone has their own opinion about teachers being able to carry guns including other teachers, parents, and government officials. Depending on what state the teacher is teaching in determines if they can carry their gun now, if they are in the process of being able to, or if their state is not passing a law to allow them to carry their gun while at school. Teachers would not stand out like police officers or security officers would while in the school which would allow for other teachers and all of the students to have normal days if schools did not have officers before. Research shows that allowing some teachers to carry guns in their school promotes school safety, protects the teachers and students, and promotes gun safety while still teaching their students. Guns in schools promote school safety, by allowing teachers to have guns in the classroom you are letting students and parents know you want their children to be safe while they are in your school or classroom all day away from their parents. Bender talks about what teachers can do to prevent weapons in the classroom and to help other teachers if something arises and they need backup assistance from another teacher. Preventing guns from being in the classroom rules out a lot of the issues with
  • 3. History Channel Series Modern Marvels It takes more than just an army to keep America s military and personnel operating 365 days a year at 100%, it also takes an air force and navy. The task for getting supplies, soldiers, Marines and sailors to where they are needed in the world falls to the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and its components which is truly a herculean feat. The History Channel series Modern Marvels featured USTRANSCOM in season 17 episode 11 which covered packaging and the technology and creativity that it takes to create and sustain movement of all types of items and people. In the episode the series highlighted all three major subcommands of USTRANSCOM; Air Mobility Command, Military Sealift Commandand Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Center. Having served four years active duty in the U.S. Navy directly after September 11, 2001 and now serving in the U.S. Navy Reserves and just recently returning from a deployment overseas to the Horn of Africa I have had firsthand experience with the services of USTRANSCOM and some knowledge about what they do. It is extremely interesting to see how my fellow brothers and sisters in arms help those of us that are not only down range in our designated area of responsibility but as well as at home. Unfortunately the 10 to 15 minute segment was too short to really show all that USTRANSCOM does (its mission), all the different types of equipment they use to complete their missions and the vast array of three subcommands capabilities.
  • 4. The Importance Of Humanism In The Renaissance Art, science, and religion build the fundamentals for education. The Renaissance burned with a fiery passion for new and innovative ideas. The people of Europe strayed from the bleak Medieval ages full of depression and instead, they saw light in a new beginning. In the 1400s.Not only was there a cultural change, but there was also a religious change. When the Roman Empire fell, so did the Roman Catholic Church. With the fast moving technological growth and decreasing religious reinforcing, the idea of humanism symbolically represent the Renaissance as a whole. Humanism is the cultural stress on human nature instead of religious matters or anything supernatural. Three men who symbolized the ideals of humanism include Michelangelo, Nicolaus Copernicus, and Martin Luther. Each man questioned his worth and reconstructed himself in his own image, reflected the impacts of the Renaissance through his works, and strived to accomplish a goal like no other. Art is culture, and culture is art. In the center of where it all started, Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni revolutionized art with his life like statues as well as his work on the Sistine Chapel. Though it was seen as a social downgrade, Michelangelo pursued his dreams regardless of society. His more known works such as the David statue reflect his perfectionism and how precise the human anatomy was even back then. In the Vatican, he took on a job that engulfed his life for 4 years. Michelangelo found himself obsessing
  • 5. Story Of Bottled Water What is your opinion on the topic after reading/viewing the selection? Do you agree or disagree with the author? Why or why not? I watched The Story of Bottled Water . This video s main goal is to persuade you not to buy bottled water. The producers of the video gave examples showing a bad light on bottled water. One example highlighted how water bottles were sitting in landfills in India and polluting the world. I agree with the fact about how it is bad that the bottles are causing pollution. At another point in the video they said that being seen drinking out of a bottle of water was getting to the same level as being seen smoking while pregnant. I disagree with that statement. I think that is very extreme and just not true. My opinion on this topic after watching the video is that the problem is not the bottles of water and their companies, it is the factories in India that are not actually recycling the bottles. That seems to be the main problem. Examine the title of the poem. What do you think it means? Read the poem several times, then look at the title again. What do you think it means now? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After reading this poem I realized that it was about when the author was little and was discriminated against because of the color of his skin. He described being hungry when he was a young boy and not having much food to eat was just normal to him. He saw no problem with it because he thought that was just life because that was all he had ever known. His experiences were limited because he was so young and did not have knowledge outside of his
  • 6. Technology Has Impacted Us All Diego Martinez ENGL 111 4/6/15 First DA Draft Technology has impacted us all, whether socially, mentally or physically. We now depend on this technologic improvement to run our lives for us. But we are blinded by the positive things it brings us that we do not take notice of the hazardous or negative effects it also brings to our lives or the people around us. We must always be aware of the harmful effects of the overuse of electronics, technology pretty much runs our lives these days and has been for years without us taking notice. In our homes, our work places we have computers, phones, and all these different kinds of gadgets helping us get through the day. Sometimes we are just so used to relying ourselves on technology all the time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on a 2010 Kaiser Foundation study showed that elementary aged children use on average 7.5 hours per day of entertainment technology, 75 percent of these children have a TV or a device in their bedrooms, and 50 percent of North American homes have the TV on all day, children now rely on technology for the majority of their free time, but are still developing sensory, motor, and attachment systems that they are not ready for the chaotic nature of today s technology. This impact on the developing child has seen an increase of physical, Psychological and behavior disorders that people now are just beginning to notice. Young children require 2 3 hours per day of active play to achieve the adequate sensory stimulation received when touched, and or hugged. More negative effects that technology brings into our society is Cyber bullying caused by social media being so big. Kids especially are the most vulnerable to this which the perpetrators, anonymously or even posing as other people the victims trust, terrorize individuals in front of peers. These online attacks can scar you and most likely never leave your life, or even end a life. Many victims have even been driven to the point of not wanting to live their lives

Thanks to resources like the Juliette K. and Leonard S. Rakow Research Library, this museum is able to spread knowledge about the art, history, and science of glassmaking. The museum was founded in 1951 by Corning Glass Works as an educational institution. It is a non profit institution that preserves the world s glass and teaches about it. The initial building included a Hall of Science that showcased the technology of glass. The Scientific Research Department of the museum was established in order to study glassmaking and its history. According to their website, The findings of this research have been shared in more than 190 publications on archaeology, chemistry, and conservation of glass. The museum provides a searchable database for the public to use in order to view these publications. In June, 1972, flood waters caused by Hurricane Agnes caused $750 million in property damage to counties along the Southern Tier of New York State (NY Times). This resulted in damaged rare glass and working books, works shattered beyond repair, and mud crusted glass. Much of
  • 8. Using Different Types of Stemmer Experimental Setup Preprocessing Data Preprocessing is actually a trail to improve text classification by removing worthiness information. In our work document preprocessing involve removing punctuation marks, numbers, words written in another language, normalize the documents by (replace the letter ( ШЈ ШҐ Шў ) with (Ш§ ), replace the letter (ШЎ Ш¤ ) with ( Ш§), and replace the letter( Щ‰ ) with ( Ш§). Finally removing the stop words, which are words that can be found in any text like prepositions and pronouns. The rest of words are returned and are referred to as keywords or features. The number of these features is usually large for large documents and therefore some filtering can be applied to these features to reduce their number and remove redundant features. Features Extraction Text is categorized by two types of features, external and internal. External features are not related to the content of the text, such as author name, publication date, author gender, and so on. Internal features reflect the text content and are mostly linguistic features, such as lexical items and grammatical categories[www]. In our work, words were treated as a feature on three levels: using a bag of words form, word stem , in which the suffix and prefix were removed and word root. With all these features we need to extract and generates the frequency list of the dataset features (single words) and save it in a training file. Feature Selection The output of feature extraction step is
  • 9. A. S. King Reality Boy Analysis Reality Boy In this story by A.S. King is an intriguing story about a boy named Gerald Faust who has overcome a past filled with neglect and torture from his family at home. His oldest sister, Tasha, is the true source of the family problems but only Lizi, the middle child, knows the entire truth of it. Reality Boy is told in the first person narrative, following Gerald s life from two weeks before he turns seventeen, to two weeks after. Within this time he finds out who he really is through a true relationship with a peer that has, in his opinion, as many problems as he does. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He has a job at the local community center, mainly so he can stay away from his house. At seventeen his typical day starts with him working out at the gym, having breakfast with his mom and dad while Tasha is fornicating with her boyfriend loudly, school, then work. Tasha still calls him gay and a retard, while still trying to suffocate him. Since he spends most of his time away from the house he doesn t deal with his trigger often. He finds that he is attracted to his coworker at register one. Hanna was her name, and she was as messed up as Gerald. Gerald didn t know this though, he thought that he was the only one with a messed up past because everyone knew it. In Hanna s mind she thought Gerald was too much of a star to notice her. Then one day as they are prepping hotdogs for the concession stand, Hanna makes her move to start talking to Gerald. They hit it off pretty quickly, and within two weeks are dating. After Gerald s birthday he finds himself with Tasha in charge of the house for the weekend. She throws a party which the father didn t want to happen, then sets up Gerald to kiss the girlfriend of a boxing rival he has. That started a major fight which prompted him to flee the state with Hanna. In this frenzy escape Hanna tries to tell him that they will have to go back eventually, but Gerald didn t want to hear any of it. He finally breaks down after a couple of days on the lamb, to call his father and set his demands. His father listens to the demands and concedes to finally move out with his son away from the two crazy ladies in their lives, mother and daughter. In the end Gerald finally finds a way to leave Gersday behind him with his
  • 10. Taking a Look at the Titan Arum The Titan arum is a magnificent plant that stands high above the plumage of other plants. It is a member of the Araceae family that is known to grow an inflorescence while also being enclosed by a leafy shield known as a spathe. The Titan arum, or Amorphophallus titanum was first discovered by Italian botanist Odoardo Beccari in 1878. Titan arumare known to grow as large as 3.06 meters tall in controlled botanical gardens (Barthlott et al.). Just a single blossomed flower of the Titan arum can stretch out to be three feet across and 36 pounds. The flowers also retain a darkish red, almost flesh colored hue (Milius). It took a staggering 11 years for the first instance of blooming to occur in this plant in 1889 at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The snail like pace of this flowers maturity is demonstrated by the fact that only 21 flowerings were recorded across the world until 1989. In all aspects of size, this flower trumps others. the Titan arum s flowering structure can grow up to measurements of 10 centimeters a day up to a height of 2.9 meters or roughly 9 and a half feet tall. Leaf height can reach a towering height of 6 meters, leaf width can reach 4.5 meters, and the tuber, the energy storing structure of the plant, can grow to be 150 pounds. This hefty tuber can also grow into the ground and stay formant for one to three years (RBG). These monstrous plants, however stalwart they might seem, have been placed under a vulnerable condition due to their
  • 11. Pennies And Dimes Lab Report Discussion As presented in Table 1, only pennies were used in this part of the experiment. 8 pennies were added to the cup at each interval, and in response to the addition, the force consistently increased by 0.20 N. This demonstrated an upward trending linear relationship, as can be seen in Figure 1. The slope, or m, represents the weight of a penny, which, is shown in Figure 1 as 0.025 N. The x values represent the independent variable, which is the # of pennies, while the y values represent the dependent variable, force (N). Slope can be represented as the change in the force (N) divided by the change in the # of coins. The value for slope in this data set represents the force per coin. The y intercept value (b) is 0, which is the y value ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Initially, 1 dime was added to the cup, followed by the addition of 1 penny, then 1 nickel, and finally 1 quarter. The idea was to add the coins in order from the lightest coin in weight (dime) to the heaviest (quarter) in order to get an upward trend line. When 1 dime was added to the cup, the force was 0.03 N, however, when a penny was added to the cup, the force was increased to a total of 0.05 N. This represented only a 0.02 N change when the penny was added. This information is inferring that a dime weighs more than a penny, however, this is not true. An error that may have occurred could be that the penny was added before the dime was added. Therefore, the penny would have weighed 0.3 N and the dime would have weighed 0.2 N. However, the information in Table 3 does demonstrate that the nickel weighs less than the quarter, but more than the penny and dime, giving an upward trend line. The slope of the line passing through points (1,0.03) and (4,0.2) is 0.056 N. Therefore, 0.056 N is the average weight of the coins. The x values represent the # of coins, the y values represent the force (N), and the y intercept value is 0. Initially, a linear graph was generated for Figure 3, however, the trend line did not pass through each point on the graph and the R2 value was .82. Therefore, a polynomial trend line was incorporated into the graph, as seen in Figure 3. The

That s what I would love to accomplish when I grow up and I believe that cardiology would be the best fit for me! Cardiology has always been a part of me in certain ways. If that doesn t appeal to your brain, then let me break it down for you. If I were to become a cardiologist, then I would help save lives, but I would also acquire a high salary. The average salary of a well worked and well payed cardiologist would be around the sum of 300 thousand dollars! With such a massive source of income, I could relinquish my profits within charities with the greatest needs. That way, I could help multitudes of people in need. Needless to say, due to the immense income I would be receiving, I would be able to do more than just donate to charities and work in a hospital for I would be able to set up free clinics and put my time and effort into important causes. Lee surrendered at Appomattox Courthouse, one of America s greatest presidents, Abraham Lincoln, was shot and killed by a man named John Wilkes Booth. Specifically, John Wilkes Booth was an American play actor and a big sympathiser for the Confederacy. Booth was well known for his hatred towards the President and his crazy ideas and motives, which lead to the killing of Lincoln. Many conspiracies and theories today believed the assassination of Abraham Lincolnwas handled by John Wilkes alone, but other conspiracies believed that he did work with other conspirators. Personally, I believe that John Wilkes Boothidea of wanting the President dead was all of his doing. His intentions for murdering Abraham Lincoln was out of pure hatred towards the man and towards the Union, but for the obvious reason Booth could not of acted entirely alone. Reasons being he could not kill the Vice President Andrew Johnson, the Secretary of State William Seward, and the President Abraham Lincoln all in one night on his own. John Wilkes Booth needed supporters to help with his own elaborate plan. For instance, the article Abraham Lincoln s Assassination claimed, he [John Wilkes Booth] and several associates hatched a plot to kidnap the president and take him to Richmond, the Confederate capital...the day of the planned kidnapping, Lincoln failed to appear at the spot where Booth and his six fellow conspirators lay in wait

Compare My Last Duchess And Porphyria s Lover Love That Kills (Comparing and Contrasting of My Last Duchess and Porphyria s Lover ) While reading the poems My Last Duchess and Porphyria s Lover by Robert Browning, there is a large possibility that you may be left haunted by the words that were written on the paper. This is not to say that he was blandly optimistic, as he is sometimes portrayed. He wrote fully about the world s cruelty and vice and was quite frank that he had himself had no divine revelation. Nevertheless, he resolved to hope rather than to doubt; and this determined hopefulness remains a comfort and inspiration for many (Baylor). While reading Browning s poetry, people often become concerned with who he might have been. The truth is, he lived as an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess we are able to conclude that there are many similarities. My Last Duchess can be seen as diverse when compared to the poem Porphyria s Lover . In this poem, Robert Browning tells of a story of a man who is searching for a new wife after the death of his old one. The only dilemma is the minutiae of how this prosperous Duke felt of his last lady. It s precisely her heart (effusive) and her gaze (delighted) that infuriates the Duke (Guthrie). The Duke who speaks in this poem, implies the idea that because his last wife was so happy, he had no other option other than to kill her. In the poem, it says A heart how shall I say? too soon made glad, too easily impressed; she liked whate er Sir (line 21). The Duke feels that because this woman was ecstatic from all things, it took her attention away from him. Because this idea overwhelmed him, he was filled with fury and told her to be cautious in what she expressed. She must not have complied, as she did not live to continue out the life they planned to spend together. Porphyria s Lover is easily comparable to the poem My Last Duchess which were both written by Robert Browning who is well known for his dramatic monologue. In this poem, Porphyria s lover, a man, nonchalantly realizes the lady he is spending his time with has established love for him. Chillingly, an analyzer of this poem wrote, It was

As to my personal reaction to the film at first I was on the side of Jesuit priest, cheering him on his mission, sympathizing with him in his lack of understanding the environment and the Algonquians their language, rituals and beliefs. As the movie progressed my opinion changed and I found the priest rather unforgiving towards Daniels attraction and relationship to Annuka, he seem lacking in compassion when trying to get his Christian message across and is pretty adamant and pushy trying to get Chomina to accept Christ when he was dying, when all Chomina wanted to do was die and peace and be with his people. As a Christian myself, I actually became rather upset and enraged with how the Europeans went in with the idea that they were right and the Algonquians were wrong. I don t think anyone belief system or anyone culture is more correct than another and that it was pretty arrogant and conceited of the Europeans to believe this was the case. The Natives had a strong belief system in the earth, wind and spirits, I don t believe they needed or wanted

Colonial Virginia Religion Numerous times during my life, various acquaintances, no doubt in an effort to interrupt a verbose rant on current affairs, have politely presented me with the familiar adage never discuss politics or religion at the dinner table. To many historians, and this is certainly true of those who study the colonial era of British North America, religion is a vital element to recreating and understanding a society familiar to most of us, yet all too often misunderstood. Unlike your well intentioned family member who is trying nothing more than to assure a pleasant dinner void of any violence, historians must push through this veil of politeness and venture into an area likely to foster intense feelings of support or condemnation depending on the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are several well cited and lamented reasons for these limited surviving documents. Demographically, especially in the seventeenth and early eighteenth century, Virginia was populated primarily with poorly educated and largely illiterate small tobacco planters who were far more concerned with harvesting their crop then penning their thoughts in journals or overseas correspondence. This leads to an over representation of the elite Gentry in surviving documents, whose superior education, domination of the House of Burgesses, and ample free time allowed increased opportunities to put their thoughts and feelings on paper. Court records should provide a well of original documentation for the colony since the royal government established an extensive system of county courts beginning in 1632. Unfortunately, the tendency for county records buildings to catch on fire was so common during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries that only a handful of counties survive, and only one, the Accomack/Northampton County, in its entirety. Finally, because of the weak presence of the Church of England within the colony, both in the number of churches and resident clergy, far fewer religious writings exist relative to similar periods in Puritan founded New England. Interestingly, a recent scholar has theorized that the main reason why Anglican ministers wrote so few religious documents was not their numerical disadvantage to the Congregationalists, but the hierarchical and conformist nature of the Anglican religion. Unlike Puritan ministers, known for their passionate rants opposing moral degradation, the placid approach of Anglican ministers inspiring deference to superiors failed to inspire writings from the ministers themselves or their

It becomes quite obvious that Duddy did not value his friendships as much as he did his wealth, as if he did, he would ve earned money the proper way, as a waiter, and wouldn t have resorted to such ruthless acts in order to attain complacency. It s quite disappointing to learn how he would sacrifice the only loving relationship he ever had (with Yvette) just so he can obtain land. Normally, a person who lived a life devoid of love would be desperate to acquire it. However, Duddy still decided to pursue his dreams of owning land on the contrary to pursuing a loving relationship that his life was in need of. Come to think of it, Duddy s life has been morally derailed ever since he was a child. As a child, he took advantage of the fact that as a minor, he was not susceptible to lawsuits. He broke the law frequently in attempt to obtain more wealth. Such examples of this would include his fraudulent behaviour with stamp companies, his selling of stolen hockey sticks, and his distribution of pornographic comic books. If this is the case then what was placed there that could have created that mark? And what was the purpose of the brown square in the middle of the plate? The outline around the square has a lot of depth so I inferred that the outline was created not through paint but was rather carved out. I thought that the plate could ve been used for food, however, if it was then there wouldn t be a need for the brown square in the middle. In general, what was this ceramic plate used for if not for food? Another thing that I found interesting was that in the back of the plate, there are four moon shaped platform to help raise the plate. The platform was placed in the middle and in the formation so that it looked like the corners of a square. I think the reason why the ceramic plate is raised is because it was probably used to hold something important. From then on, I find my potential to be a quick learner. In my new field study, I had to adapt to the brand new subject in a short time. Although my foundation was weaker than my classmates, I studied more profession courses than them, about 25 hours per week. Besides, I paid more attention to business practice and spent an extra 18 hours on extra curricular activities every week. Last, this experience also taught me how to utilize core competence. As students who were for public benefit, we easily won more support from the society, which facilitated many business cooperation chances for farmers. Fortunately, based on the model and outcome of project, our team won runner up out of 200 prestigious universities in the Enactus National Competition in 2015. At that time, I was sure that entrepreneurship was all about catching the opportunity, taking action and pursuing success. What further honed my entrepreneurship was my following entrepreneurial experience. After evaluating the honey comb, I found a market opportunity: there were more targeted customers and fewer competitors; besides, the profit margin of honey comb is 30% higher than that of honey. Consequently, I co founded a honey product brand, Chasing Man, with three other partners. We improved the product by giving up plastic that was widely used as the pack of honey comb, and by pouring 60% of the money into bamboo made pack that had

A law enforcement department might choose to punish an individual, but the fear of punishment usually is not enough to change unwanted behavior (Martin 2011). It can be seen that if the interest rate rises then the price of such fixed return bonds fall, making bonds less attractive proposition to investors than money. When the price of such fixed return bond rises, then they are more attractive for an investor than money. Some investors will expect the rate of interest to rise, while others will expect it to fall. When the rate of interest is realised to be unduly high by individuals, most will assume that the next move is in a downward direction. When the rate of interest falls, the price of bonds increases and so there are capital gains to be made. When the rate of interest is high there will be a substantial demand for bonds and hence a low speculative demand to hold money. If, however, the rate of interest is perceived to be unduly low then most individuals will assume that the next move is upwards, resulting in a fall in bond prices and, therefore, a capital loss for those who own bonds. The speculative demand for money to hold will be high when people owing bonds are looking to sell them before the price falls. This is a speculative demand (SD) for money. A fall in the rate of interest from r1 to r2 leads to an expansion in the speculative demand for money. At a low rate of interest r3, the speculative demand for money is perfectly elastic.
