How To Write An Essay On The Play Bat Boy
For the production of Bat Boy, there were many tasks to be performed. Like usual there were the
actors, the running crew, and the musicians. For this particular musical, the running crew had
many different parts. The carpentry crew, which I was a part of, had a variety of jobs for the
show. We were in charge of the fly system and for moving various portions of the set. For the fly
system, there were four ropes and a travelersystem set up. Three of the ropes were used for the
opening scene where the Taylor children would come in on their harnesses in the cave. Before the
curtain would open we would fly them to the top, then as the curtain was opened we would fly
them down to the ground. Each ropehad at least two people, if not more. The other rope was used
for the flying of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A lot of the learning had to do with synchronization. Working on a production of that size, it is a
necessity that everyone learns to work as a team. With an enormous cast and crew, and a set
with many pieces, we all had to work in a way so that we could all do our jobs without
interrupting others. The scenes in which we had to fly Bat Boy were the hardest because we
had to get timing right for everything, as well as the fluidity of the pull. The scene where he
flies out had to be a smooth movement. If it was choppy it wouldn t have looked right. Jumping
off the acting block and pulling the rope with others took plenty of practice as well. For every
fly scene, no matter how much practice we got, there would always be a point where we could
end up grabbing each others hands while we were pulling on the rope. While this could have
been a problem, we learned that we needed to just keep going with pulling the rope. Teamwork
wise, the slaughterhouse wall and door were also something that took a lot of practice. Despite the
challenges we faced while working on this production, we were able to overcome them and put on

Music That Made The Movement
Music that Made the Movement
The United States is a country which was formed by the hard work of the First Nations people, the
British, and African Americans. Unfortunately, blacks were subjected to slavery. In the 1900 s
blacks were becoming more discontented, thus began the emergence of the civil rights movement.
Along with rallies and peaceful protests, music played a very important role in bringing change to a
society where white supremacy reigned. In addition to their efforts, jazz and blues artists also
contributed to the building of a strong America.
Four black teenagers were arrested in the town of Marion, Indiana in the early morning of August 7,
1930. Sixteen year old James Cameron, nineteen year old Abram Smith and ... Show more content

The mob then took Abram and dragged him to a large tree to be hanged. When he resisted, the
lynchers broke his arms, stabbed him and was hung. Thomas body was then brought from the jail
and was hung next to Abram s. Miraculously, when the mob was preparing a fire to light under the
bodies of Thomas and Abram, a voice denied James involvement in the crime. He avoided his own
hanging and was brought back to prison.
The photographs of the two bodies hanging from the tree inspired Abel Meeropol, a teacher, to
write the poem and song Strange Fruit . In 1939, jazz singer Billie Holiday adapted the song into her
set list. With lyrics such as:
Southern trees bear strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.
It gives the horrific imagery of the bodies hanging from the trees and glimpse of the life in
picturesque South. Holiday s performance of the song soon became a hallmark for the early civil
rights movements as she often became overcome with emotions as she performed the song each
night. Strange Fruit was the first significant protest in words and music, the first unmuted cry
against racism and is what many describe as the beginning of the civil rights movement.

Minotaur Research Paper
The myth of the Minotaur comes from the Island of Crete. King Minos of Crete was the son of
Europa and Zeus, but King Asterion still raised Minos as his own along with his two brothers. To
become king after Asterion had passed, Minos prayed to the God Poseidon to provide him with a
spectacular white bull to sacrifice to the god. Poseidon granted Mino s wish, showing the people,
he was the rightful ruler over his two brothers. Minoshowever, did not sacrifice the bull and
chosen a lesser one in its place. Poseidon became angry over Mino s disobedience. Mino s wife,
Pasiphae, was installed with lusting desire for the white bull by Poseidon as revenge. With the help

The Chicano Movement, A Civil Rights Movement
The Chicano movement, also known as El Movimiento, was a civil rights movement that began in
the 1960s with a primary objective of attaining empowerment and self determination as well as
rejecting and confronting the history of racism, discrimination and disenfranchisement of the
Mexican American community and was much more militant than movements prior to it. Some
issues the Chicano movement dealt with were farm workers rights, political rights, better education
and restoration of land grants. Additionally, the movement sought to gain social equality and
economic opportunity. The movement strove to tackle the stereotype the media and America
synonymized with Mexicans. The Chicano movement was influenced by progress made in
movements such as the Black Power Movement, antiwar movement and various others. Those who
grew up before the start of the Chicano movement believed that assimilating into the American
lifestyle and adopting their values, ideals and believing in their education and politics would help
them become more white. The Mexican Americancommunity faced segregation in all parts of life.
Chicano was used as a derogatory term towards Mexican Americans before the Chicano movement
in the 1960s. Organizations formed in the early 1900s, such as the League of United Latin
American Citizens (LULAC), sought to end discrimination and segregation against Latinos. The
Chicano Movement did not start at one exact moment because of one action, but rather it grew over

My Mother Essay
In most cases, we develop some outstanding qualities and attributes through training and learning.
However, my mother attained those unique qualities through life experience. From a very humble
background, she has struggled with life, passed through a lot to be the person she is today. She
always tells us that experience is the best teacher. Also, through proper parenthood. My
grandparents were very strict and observant. They laid a good foundation to my motherthrough
teaching her on good moral, and how to be responsible. Our parents always act as our role models,
so when they teach us good life techniques, there is the possibility of us being better than them.

She could not afford to get a sitter and pay her to look over us; hence, she was kind of socially
isolated.
Fatigue
Parenthood is usually meant to involve two players, that is husband and wife. To some cases, the
man may be irresponsible, or the woman may be single. My mother was always physically,
emotionally and spiritually worn out because of multitasking and overthinking. As a family, we
depended on her, and to some point, she had no power to provide on to us. She had to balance
work and her health, which was very challenging. She could not get ways to take a breather or
refresh, as she was all committed to giving us the best. She could not have enough sleep, as she
was to wake up early in the morning, prepare us and go to work.
My Mother s Impacts on to my Life
My mom inspired me on being hard working, responsible and accountable. Her perseverance in
life gave me the inspiration for putting more effort in any activity I undertake and get the best out
of my life. She had a goal of giving us a decent and comfortable life, and she made us proud of her.
Again, she impacted me with love and respect to other people. Since she was compassionate and
empathetic, I inherited an attribute of loving anyone despite their social background. In fact, I
wondered how she managed everything perfectly. She also surprised me of her kind nature.
Sometimes I could offend her, hurt her, but she still had that parental

Shang Bronze Age
Shang was the first dynasty in ancient China. The workers became highly skilled in pottery,
weaving, tool making, and other crafts and trades (McLenighan 18). They were the first to invent
bronze. They mixed tin and copper together, heated it, then poured it carefully and quickly into
molds before it dried (Chun). Weapons and tools were made better with bronze (McLenighan 18).
This dynasty was known as the bronze age because bronze was so important to them (Chun). The
Shang used shells for money. The inventions of the chariots and wheeled carts increased wealth
and trade (McLenighan 18). They made things to use in ceremonies to honor their ancestors like
cooking pots, tools, and bells. The bells were used to calm the spirit. The biggest celebration was

Ancient Chinese writing included pictographs, characters representing objects and ideographs.
These symbols represent words, not letters (Spielvogel 283). Calligraphy was China s most
important art. It made beautiful pictures. Block printing was used to make seals for documents
(Chun). Ancient Chinese art was made on bronze. These included vases, sculptures, cups,
daggers, and urns. Clothes were made with colorful silk which was woven by artisans (Spielvogel
283). Yellow and red clothes were a symbol of beauty and power (Chun). Statues were carved from
jade and ivory. Dishes were made from kaolin, a white clay (Spielvogel 283).
Ancient Chinese people fished in the many rivers, but later farming became very important to
them. They farmed along three rivers, the Huang He, Chang Jiang, and the Yangtze river where the
soil was very rich. (Lambert 16). Farmers worked for the aristocrats growing wheat and millet in
the north, and rice in the south (Lambert 14, Spielvogel 282). Everything was done by hand
including the planting and irrigation. The farmers also raised mule, ox, pigs, chicken, sheep, and

Security, The Big Picture
1.OBJECTIVE:
Security, the big picture
A secure enterprise , big or small, should have an approach to security that is comprehensive and
end to end if it is to be effective. Most organizations do not have such policies and practices in
place. There are some good reasons for this; security clearly comes at a cost. This cost can be
measured not just in dollars, but also in complexity, time and efficiency. To make things secure, it
is necessary to spend money, perform more procedures, and wait for these procedures to complete
(or perhaps involve someone else).
The reality is that true security programs are difficult to achieve. It is usually necessary to
choose a schema that has a certain amount of cost and an understood amount of security
coverage. (This is almost always less than comprehensive and end to end .) The point here is to
make educated decisions for each aspect of an overall system and to consciously employ more or
less in a calculated fashion. If one knows the areas that are less protected, one can at least monitor
such areas to determine problems or breaches.
2.SCOPE:
Knowing the network
It is not possible to protect anything unless one clearly understands WHAT one wants to protect.
Organizations of any size should have a set of documented resources, assets and systems. Each of
these elements should have a relative value assigned in some manner as to their importance to the
organization. Examples of things that should be considered are

There are many things to know about Olaudah: early life, travel, and the making of his legacy.
Olaudah was born in West Africa, in 1745, in the village of the Igbo tribe, where his father was the
chief. Recent scholars think that he might of been born in the New World instead of Africa
(Foner, page 130 ). When he was 11 he was kidnapped by slave traders along with some of his
family. At that point, he was forced into the Atlantic Slave Tradeand was considered a slave. He
was then sent to Barbados. Still traveling in the slave trade system, he went to Virginia (the
English colony where most of the tobacco was grown). From Virginia, Olaudah was sold to a
British sea captain. The British sea captain changed his name from Olaudah Equiano, to Gustavus
Vassa (one of the many names people gave him in his life). While Gustavus was with the sea
captain, he was enrolled in an English school where he learned how to read and write, which he

Television Violence Essay
Television violence and its effects on viewers has been a controversial issue for many years. Some
viewers believe that there is an increasingly large amount of violence on television and this
widespread public concern has quot;led to calls for stricter controls on the depiction of violence in
programmes quot; (Gunter and McAleer 1990:92). Exactly how much violence is there on
television though?
Many cultivation theorists have studied this, acquiring data in the form of content analysis. They
agree on a definition of a violent act, for example Gerbner in his study used the definition, quot;an
overt expression of physical force against self or other, compelling action against ones will on pain
of being hurt or killed, or actually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is clearly obvious from the research already done concerning television and its effects, that
violence is quite prevalent on British television. Of more concern however is the effect that those
can have on its viewers. Does the violence on television really increase the violent attitudes and
behaviour in individuals? Violence on television can do one of three things. The first is make us
more violent (Huesmann 1982), the second is make us less violent (Feshbach 1972) and the third
is to have no effect at all (Freedman 1984, Kaplan and Singer 1976). Most evidence has supported
the first argument namely that television violence does increase our own violent behaviour. There
are four main effects that cause this violent behaviour when viewing it on television.
The first of these affects is arousal. It is believed that a violent programme increases levels of
arousal and thus causes us to become more violent as we are not only excited by the programme
but also agitated and nervous. This effect is not limited to violent programmes however, as a
comedy programme may induce arousal in the form of amusement in the same way as a violent
programme induces arousal in the form of anger. It is the type of arousal that occurs in the first
place that determines the effect the programme has. Condry (1989:11) found that suspense
programmes, comedy programmes and sport events

My Educational Experience In High School
My educational past is complicated to say the least. Starting in the fourth grade, my mother pulled

the idea of being homeschool sounded great in the mind of a fourth grader my mind of a 20 year

mother, an alcoholic, rather than teaching me used me to work in her daycare while she grew more
and more incapable due to her growing addiction. Starting in the 8th gradeI began to attend a co op
funded by the Tahoma school district, (Russell Ridge Center). Once I began making connections
with both peers and teachers, I began to realize how much I had missed out on both social and
educational standards that were met by a typical 8th grader. With the help of free tutoring from a
select few teachers I confronted about wanting to gain academic knowledge, I slowly caught up to
the standard educational goals, then pushed myself to succeed further. I became captain of our high

our local high schools theater stage. My Junior year, I began to attend Green River Community

Summary Of The Fan-Celebrity Relationship In Johnny Cash
5.1 Introduction
In the preceding quotation, Patsy draws our attention to the fan celebrity relationship, in this
instance, with Johnny Cash. Although several fans in my sample share her sentiment that Cash is
similar to a member of their family Patsy places him in even higher esteem than do other fans. I
isolate this example in the introduction to this chapter because of its mention that Johnny Cash, for
Patsy, is not a god, but, as she says, he s pretty much the next thing to it. Fandom as religion
literature maintains a tendency to bridge the gap between Patsy and God, by referring to the
celebrity as a mediator or redeemer figure, in some cases, literally, and in others it is a
metaphorical rendering. It is accurate to write the celebrity performs certain mediation for the
fan; celebrities, through their image, mediate fans hopes and desires, but also more mundane
ways fans interpret their world, such as the examples illustrated in Chapter 4. For Fandom as
religion scholars, however, celebrities such as Elvis Presley and Cliff Richards mediate more
sacred, rather than quotidian, concerns. In Fandom as religion literature, the sacred is set apart and
protected from everyday banality, and through universe maintenance, such as the shrine building
described by Doss in the chapter Saint Elvis, places the celebrity on a sacred pedestal. Other than
such connotation, the celebrity as sacred figure is a poorly defined entity in Fandom as Religion
literature (see Doss 1999;

Fraudulent Financial Reporting Schemes
Abstract
Routine examinations, audits, or internal control procedures, do not reveal most accounting fraud.
Only 20% is revealed by way of auditing, however whistle blowing accounts for most revealed

This is achieved by inflating the company s assets, net earnings, and/or equity. To understate
liabilities the company would not record accrued liabilities or accounts payable, service or

Improper Asset Valuation
The more assets a creditor, lender, or investor can view on a company s books the more
appealing the companies are to the creditor s, lender s, or investors. Assets are used to earn the
company money in order to pay or pay off its debt. This can cause improper asset valuation of such
accounts as: accounts receivable, fixed assets, and or inventory. Considering the complexity of
inventory records, management finds inventory as an attractive place to commit financial statement
fraud. Inventory is sometimes comprised of larger number items and distributed from several
locations making it easier for the improper creation of estimates for slow moving or dated goods.
Additionally, management will create non existing inventory, manipulate the physical count, fail to
record the actual purchase, and improperly capitalize inventory, (Colby, n.d).

FDA Evaluation of Medication Essay
FDA Evaluation of Medication Introduction The main center within the FDA for the evaluation of
medication is known as the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. The center evaluates all drugs
before they are sold. It currently evaluates more than 10,000 drugs that are on the market to ensure
that highest standards of those drugs. They also monitor media broadcasts to make sure that
messages portrayed are truthful to consumers. Lastly, they provide health care professionals as well
as consumer s information pertaining safest and most effective ways to use drugs. There are three

This research is performed after preliminary evidence suggesting effectiveness of the drug has
been obtained. The intention of this research is to gather additional information with regard to
effectiveness and safety and attempts to be conclusive with answers about the drug as far as
benefit/risk issues are concerned. This is also the phase in the drug research process where labels
are created and the basic guidelines for definition and public informative information is finalized.
These studies may include several hundred to several thousand people. At any point in time in the
research process, CDER can impose a clinical hold if a study is unsafe or if the detail is clearly
insufficient in meeting its stated objectives. Great care is taken to ensure that this determination is
not made in isolation, but reflects current scientific knowledge, agency experience with the design
of clinical trials, and experience with the class of drugs under investigation. Another thing that the
CDER is responsible for doing is approving generic drugs. A generic drug product is one that is
comparable to an original drug product and is identified in the FDA s list of approved drug
products with therapeutic equivalence evaluations. They are comparable in dosage form, strength,
route of administration, quality, performance characteristics and intended use. A term to be familiar
with concerning generic drugs is quot;ANDA. quot;

The Importance Of A Good Corporate Governance Framework
Introduction
This paper will discuss why a good corporate governance framework must incorporate stakeholder
accountability. For the purpose of this paper, the term stakeholder governance will be used to
incorporate all aspects of stakeholder accountability and engagement, that is; dialogue, decision
making, transparent operations and implementation of solutions to common problems or goals.
The first part of this paper will describe how the landscape has changed for business operations due
to environmental, economic and social reasons. It will set out the evolution of corporate
governance as a result of historical events and academic debate and suggest that, ultimately, the top

Business, no Longer an Island
Corporate governance is no longer viewed in isolation, as a matter for companies and their
institutional shareholders. Business scandals, global economic and social crises, climate change
and environmental disasters have impacted billions of people, hold high risk consequences and
extensive strategic and geopolitical implications for society at large. Issues traditionally seen as
outside of the business remit are becoming recognised as critical factors to long term business
success. Organisations are now being called to account for their impact on the environment and non
shareholding stakeholders. Just as a company board should ensure that financial statements are
properly audited, it is also responsible for ensuring that management is aware of, and properly
manages, less tangible, nonfinancial risks. In this regard, well managed and considered
stakeholder governance programmes should open up dialogue which encourages questions and
thereby provide access to a broader view of potential risks. Today, revenues of the world s largest
multinationals exceed the gross domestic products of a host of countries, multinationals have a
global reach not enjoyed by countries and private companies are increasingly being called upon to
deliver services that were once the domain of governments. The power relationship between country
states and multinational companies has shifted dramatically over the past 40 years and with that, the

Yoga s Spiritual Path Means to Join Essay
The yogas are active spiritual paths, a way for people to achieve illumination by the Divine Spark
within us all. The word yoga literally means union and is related to the English words join and
yoke . Through yoga, we unwrap the Divinity within, thereby allowing our true spiritual natures to
shine forth ever brighter. There are numerous types of yoga; here is a short explanation of some of
the main ones:
Jnana yoga is the yoga of wisdom and true knowledge. To know Brahman as one s individual Self is
Jnana. It looks into the reality about who we are and what we are experiencing and the complete

Refers to a set of physical exercises, that contain stretching and balancing, designed to align your

especially the primary channel, the spine, so that energy can circulate freely.
The main Hindu beliefs are Brahman, Atman, Maya, Karma, Dharma, and Moksha. These primary
concepts are still taught today.
The word Brahman means divine reality at the center of things. Brahman itself constitutes the
basic building material of all reality, the font of all things. It is the long lasting experience that all
things are in some way holy because they originate from the same sacred fount. It is also the
experience that all things are basically one. It says that every seemingly individual reality in the
world is, in reality, a wave of the same sacred ocean of energy. There s three words that help define
its nature: Brahman is Sat, reality itself; Chit, pure consciousness; and Ananda, bliss.
Atman is sometimes translated as self , soul , or deepest self . Each individual has a soul and the
soul presents its own uniqueness and personality. At the deepest level of what you are, there is a
divine reality, a divine spirit, that everything shares. The Atman is equal with Brahman, it refers to
the experience of the sacred within oneself. It could be said that in this world, a spiritual being, the
Atman, has a human experience instead of a human being having a

four different methods during the study. The methods had different injection rates and needle time

straightforward and exact tells the reader what the article is about. One thing the article did not

Online Shopping And Traditional Shopping
Shopping can be enjoyable for some people; however, it can also be a burden for others. The
preference of the shopper really determines whether or not they have a pleasant experience and the
time to look for their items. There are many similarities as well as differences with online shopping
and traditional shopping. The main factors that I will be discussing are convenience, discounts and
item availability.
Convenience is really a significant factor with both types of shopping. As of the 2011 Time
Survey, the average American spends about 43.2 minutes per day shopping, which is down from
48.6 minutes per day in 2003. (Hines, 2012) Online shopping is convenient for purchasing items at

Both shopping methods offer convenience in different ways that is solely at the preference of the
individual consumer.
Discounts are offered by both online and traditional shopping. Cyber Monday is vastly
becoming as popular as Black Friday, and for some, more popular. The world of retail has
certainly raised their game with regard to discounts and sales on merchandise, both online and
traditional, to attract customers. Retail centers will offer discounts to a certain number of
customers first to arrive. Many online sellers will offer free shipping in addition to sales and
discounts to compete. A consumer can save a considerable amount of money by researching an
item they want to purchase to obtain the best deal. In addition, online sellers feature lower prices
because they do not have the overhead costs such as rent, utilities and sales people. In comparison,
retail centers will slash prices to compete against online retailers. Another savings with online
shopping is that a consumer might not have to pay sales tax based on their residency. (Torres,
2017) Coupons and gift cards can be applied with either method of shopping allowing further
discounts off regular priced items.
Item availability is significant for online shopping. There is no shortage of shelf space when you
shop online. Another factor to consider is when a consumer is looking for an old or unique item,
they can just google it and purchase it. As such, a consumer spends less time

How Does Swimming Affect The Body
Competitive sports effect the body in positive and negative ways. Sports can be good for a persons
character and often result in life long friendships, and bonds. Sports join the world in an inseparable
bond, that is competition. Swimming is a beautiful sport that takes grace and endurance. Swimming
also builds lung endurance. But, the chlorinein the pools cause respiratory issues such as asthma.
We must start to fix this issue to restore health to swimmers. For most of my life I have
competitively swam and for the past three years I have lifeguarded, I am often in a chlorinated
environment. I have noticed that when competing and working I am more prone to having chest
colds and breathing trouble. To understand chlorines role in causing respiratory discomfort, we have
to understand our environment and how the water density affects the lungs. When people exercise
they raise their heart rate. When ones heart rate is rapid it is up to their lungs, and respiratory system
to provide the blood with oxygen. With competitive swimminga swimmers heart rate will rise and
the swimmer will need a to breathe, but swimming has a low oxygen intake compared to other
sports. The water is 800 times the density of the air. This shrinks the airway 2 millimeters, which
constricts the chest, consequently constricting breathe (Swimming and asthma). Let me introduce
two words: hydrastic load, and thoracic cavity. The hydrastic load is when a person is in a vertical
position, submerged in water.

The Controversy Of Organ Donation In China
Lawmakers should pass a motion urging China to immediately put a stop on the alleged forced
organ harvesting of Christian prisoners, according to two Canadian lawyers who brought the claims
to Australia s Parliament House.
On Monday, human rights lawyer David Matas and former prosecutor David Kilgour came to
Australia s House of Parliament claiming to have evidence of China performing between 60,000
and 100,000 organ transplants every year. The Canadian lawyers say the only plausible explanation
for the source of the harvested organs is the killing of Christians, Muslim Uighurs, Tibetan
Buddhist, and Falun gong practitioners, The Associated Press (AP) relays.
However, Matas and Kilgour did not present proof of the alleged organ sourcing. This is not the

Dna Evidence Of A Dna Unit Within A Crime Lab
Today in the crime world, DNA evidence is strongly accepted in solving crime cases. This is all
based in part by allowing a crime laboratory to have a designated unit whose main goal is to
analyze DNA evidence to aid investigators with positive outcomes in crime case solving. With that
being said we are going to discuss the functions of a DNAunit within a crime lab as well as address
the vital role these units play in solving crime.
Let s start by defining what in fact is DNA analysis. According to the FBI s crime lab, the DNA
analysis process can take place when bodily fluid stains and other biological tissues are found on
physical evidence collected from a crime scene (FBI DNA Casework Unit, 2016). The DNA
testing results obtained from evidence samples are compared to DNA from reference samples
collected from known individuals. Such analyses may be able to associate victims and suspects
with each other, with evidence items, or with a crime scene (FBI DNA Casework Unit, 2016). The
FBI and other national crime labs can conduct nuclear, Y chromosome, and or mitochondrial DNA
testing depending on the technology and funds appropriated to the unit. Smaller fielded units would
probably not be able to do some testing which would result in them forwarding evidence or using
other assets with greater capabilities.

While many of the slaves brought to America practiced traditional African religions, many of the
slaves from West Africa were predominately Muslim. In fact a significant number of black Africans
brought to North America during the slave trade were Muslim. Due to the overwhelming Christian

The Koran and the Sunna cover many things that Muslims must go by. Some examples are: diet,
marriage, and even the proper way to clean one s teeth. There are two different groups of Muslims,
the Shiites, and the Sunni. The Shiites are those who support the decedents of Muhhamad as their
rightful successors. The Sunni believed that the elections of the first three caliphs were valid.
There are five specific rituals that Muslims must follow. These rituals are known as the five pillars
of Islam. These rituals are as follows:
1) Profession of faith. There is no god but Allah, and Muhhamad is his prophet.
2) Prayer. Muslims must pray five times a day. When they pray, they must pray towards Mecca, the
holy city.
3) Charity to the poor. Muslims must contribute to public charities.
4) Ritual fast during Ramadan. Muslims cannot eat from the break of day until the setting of the sun.
5) The pilgrimage to Mecca. Muslims must make at least one pilgrimage to Mecca at one time in
their lives.
These are the five rituals that Muslims went by and they did so successfully.
Islam is a way of life, as well as a religion. Those who follow Islam are very dedicated, for they
live their whole life submitting themselves to Allah. As a matter of fact, the word Islam means
submission to Allah. In the United States today, Islam is a highly accepted religion in the African

Each sentence she composes is a candidly charged depiction of what men anticipate from their

some portion of this article draws close to the end, where Brady has gone over every one of the
things men expect and closes with a cunning yet hilarious completion. She stated that after every
one of the things that men require out of their ladies, at last, they can simply supplant them with
somebody more appropriate? I trust this was the most genuine piece of her exposition, and trust she
accomplished in achieving ladies of that period. Now, rather than men attempting to make their

In my opinion what Brady is letting the reader know is very much needed. The wife or mother is the
one who mostly takes care of the children. In the article, Brady said, I want a wife to make sure

chemistry from 1886 to 1891 at the university of Heidelberg. He was most famous for his research
on ammonia. He was able to find out a way of acquiring it without having to extract it naturally.
During WWI, Fritz worked with Germanyon creating a toxic gas which was capable of killing
thousands of people. That s exactly what ended up happening. Throughout WWI chemical warfare
was being used to commit lots of murders. Since Fritz was the mastermind behind the chemical
warfare, he became known as the father of chemical warfare . After Fritz s toxic gas was a
success, he got promoted to captain of the German army. Once the war ended, Fritz gained

The depiction of women in all forms of media, including...
The depiction of women in all forms of media, including print, broadcasted and internet media, is
constantly showing that they are the weaker of the two sexes. Gender. What is it? How does it
make us who we are? Are we dependent on it? So many questions derive from this one word,
gender. Gender, according to ITU is the social attributes and opportunities associated with being
male and female. There are so many different parts of the term genderand so many roles that each
sexpartakes in. One role that I have noticed amongst every form of media, weather it is in books
or in movies is that women appear to be the weaker of the two sexes.
I don t believe women are weak and there have been many changes in society to this day that agree

I think Disney is the obvious choice to blame for the portrayal of weak women. I mean, Disney
resolves around the idea that women need rescuing, that we are the damsels in distress. I, being
16, grew up watching Cinderella, Snow White and Rapunzel. All those movies have the same
common motif, that one day my prince will come . In fact, the entire Disney princess movies
collection seems to have the same story line. The endings all had the same idea involving being
rescued or saved by a prince charming .
Another popular kid s movie that was created, that did have some hope for the depiction of
women was Shrek. The idea of the damsel in distress was turned on its head when Princess Fiona
got the shock of her life when the big ogre showed up to rescue her. Fiona went from being the
damsel to the sudden I m better than you attitude because Shrek didn t live up to the typical prince
charming .
However Shrek lost this powerful message by the end of the movie and completely threw it in
the bag by the end of the third movie in the motion picture series when Fiona and Shrek got
married and had a family. Yeah, it was sweet and had the message that it is wrong to judge people
solely by their appearances alone, but it also showed the transformation that Fiona took to become
perfect for Shrek.
When I am down in the dumps and just want to relax with a nice cup of hot cocoa and watch some
romantic movie that makes every teenage girl reassess her life,

Alternate Outcome At Fort Ticonderoga
Alternate outcome at Fort Ticonderoga
In order to come to an alternative outcome, one must first address the instructional letter sent from
General Gage to General Carleton after the battles at Lexington and Concord. The letter took far too
long to get to General Carleton. General Gage had credible human intelligence suggesting that the
colonists wanted to take Fort Ticonderoga. While one understands that one must use the chain of
command, one would think the immediacy of the letter was far more important and should have
gone directly to Fort Ticonderoga, instead of the 10 day long ride to Montreal. And even if that
was not proper protocol, General Gage could have at least sent an advisor with knowledge of
surveillance techniques to Fort Ticonderoga to aid in their post and give better forewarning of a
potential attack.
Secondly, had the British force at Fort Ticonderoga had cavalry scouts assigned to it, there would
not have been much of an American Revolution. The cavalry scouts would have picked up the trail
of Colonels Allen, Arnold, and the Green Mountain Boys. The Scouts could have performed
reconnaissance and then reported back to the garrison commander, putting the whole fort on guard.
Then the garrison commander could have contacted both the British sloop in Lake Champlain and
the garrison at Fort Crown Point for further aid and reinforcements, beating back the patriot
attacking force.
Thirdly, with more troops at the fort, the British could have afforded a couple

Chemotherapy Mistakes
Many humans in the world suffer from cancer. This disease has caused many people to lose their
life or even their loved one s life. Researchers have done many studies to try and tackle this deadly
infection, but everything they have tried has either caused cancer to progress or come back. Maybe
we should blame old, outdated medical equipment for this reason or researchers not working
working professors to incorporate technology in the classroom. After reading many articles and
books on why chemotherapyshouldn t be a consideration, I ve learned that it is slowly starting to
vanish. Basically because more and more researchers are trying new experiments on patients to

Once everything was taken into place, Novocure recently announced their new antidote last
month on October 2, 2015 ( Our Therapy ). As for the first experimental patients who received
treatment before the FDA had approved Novocure new statistics, they weren t scared of dying if a
mishap occurred. One patient in particular was Elizabeth Marek, a Saint Louis, MO mother who
first received chemotherapy treatments before obtaining electric fields. Elizabeth Marek had a
deadly and aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma. This unfortunate type of cancer
would come at the wrong time for her because she was twenty six weeks pregnant with her
second child. Mentioned in Reuter s Magazine, Marek began suffering from extreme headaches,
and thought it was migraines due to pregnancy. She quotes, It ended up being a tumor that was
the size of my fist on the left side of my brain and it was pushing the left brain into the right brain
area (Gruber). Luckily her headaches became too severe and went to Washington University in
Saint Louis Hospital to discover she had brain cancer. Oncologists and surgeons would remove
the tumor. Unfortunately, after undergoing chemotherapy, a new tumor started forming in
Marek s brain. Marek was devastated at first, but Dr. George Ansstas offered her a chance to be a
science experiment. Mrs. Marek would be chosen to be one of the first patients to use a device
called Optune. This device is just a fancy name for electric fields. She would carry a backpack
that feeds an array of electrodes attached to Marek s head, exposing cells to this electromagnetic
field that disrupt and lead cancerous cells to death. Now Elizabeth has no measurable signs of
cancer in her brain. Elizabeth Marek mentions it by saying, She has been wearing the device for a
year and apart from

Go Back To California Essay
According to this week s lecture, this topic covered the significance of California, why is it a
diverse state, and how does it attract many people from outside of California. Throughout this main
idea, California is a number one largest history in the United State and this what brings people
from others including outside of the country to explore California. California has been important
through the huge change in this state that everyone had notice way back from the past and many
great places to visit. From the reading, Notes from a Native Daughter by Joan Didion, she states

Plus California has memorable places where we can visit, take pictures, and experience. Since I
am a nature loving person, I enjoyed going to places that are natural and far more like Yosemite
National Park. And I realizes there are also changes in that area. This is why I m currently
majoring in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology so I can earn my chance to visit new places
where I wished to go in the future as I have a great career in life and share it with my family and
friends. Also, I m enjoying taking photos based on nature everywhere I go alone, with friends
and family. There was one time was made a bike trip from UC Merced Campus to the Universal
Service Recycling Merced all alone, it was a twenty miles trip. I literally rode straight on Lake
and this is the place where I admired, so I took most my snapshots. So far I have taken photos of
the Snowy Sierra Mountain, a campus that was a distance, and a snapshot of beautiful farmland
area. And then when I went back to campus, I show to most of my friends and they are really
interested and know how I m really into nature and traveling. I found that was one of my
memorable time that I did when I actually came to Merced. I felt Merced is a lot different than

Leonardo Da Vinci And Leonardo Da Vinci
The Renaissance is celebrated for having been a period of remarkable advancement in the fields
pertaining to art, literature, and science. However, with such advancements rendered too,
anatomical innovation. Progress relating to European medical knowledge was principally attributed
to a renewed curiosity in the ancient concepts of the Greek and Roman civilizations. The
Renaissancetoo denoted a decline in Christianity in art, as society moved away from a strictly
religious reawakening present in the Middle Ages, towards that of a more humanistic concern. The
significance of this decline supplemented by the bolstered public support of both art and science
inspired an atmosphere, which was conducive to anatomical advancements. Specifically,... Show

The Renaissance is significant as it denoted a shift in the cultural attitude of anatomical dissections.
Leading up to, and amidst this time, physicians were tasked with learning human anatomy through
the writing of Galan, an ancient Greek physician (129 216AD). The reason for such is that the
Church was against the dissection of anatomical dissections. Supplemented by the additional
burden of being reliant upon the weather as a means by which the bodies could be both preserved
and cooled, anatomists rarely dissected corpses, and those that were studied were that of executed
criminals.
Andreas Vesalius was also a prominent artist, and anatomist within the Renaissance, famous for
his, book: De Humani Corpis Fabrica (On the Fabric of the Human Body) (Laurenza 20). Vesalius
s work evoked considerable changes to anatomical study, as he argued for the ability of students to
explore the inner workings of the human body, rather than being reliant upon the words of their
predecessors (Laurenza 20; Leopold 1). Furthermore, Vesalius through his studies revealed, existent
faults in Galen s assertions, whilst proposing anatomical theories previously not discovered
(Leopold 1).
The Renaissance fostered the promotion of science through scientific innovation. Namely, the
advent of print by movable type enabled anatomical teachings to grow, as textbooks concerning the

Hello Lagertha,
Below is the memorandum for the negligence action regarding our client, Mr. Ragnarr Loobrok. To
succeed in a claim of negligence, it must be proven that, on the balance of probabilities, that a duty
of care was owed by the State of Victoria to prevent him from getting arrested once his bail
conditions had been formally changed.
Was a duty of care owed by The State Of Victoria upon Mr. Ragnarr Loobrok to prevent economic

Ragnarr, must prove to the court that due to the states negligent actions he will consequently
experience economic loss. Causation refers to whether the defendants conduct (or omission), in
this case The State Of Victoria, caused the resulting harm or damage. The common law of
negligence obliges instigation of causation for the purposefulness of attaching legal
accountability. Another element that must be proven is that it is applicable for the scope of the
negligent persons liability to extend to the harm so caused (scope of liability ). As it is a case of
negligence the onus of proving, on the balance of probabilities, is weighed upon our client, the
plaintiff Mr. Ragnarr. Even if the but for test is applied to the current situation in the case, the
outcome would be that the loss suffered by the plaintiff would have only occurred if the defendant
acted negligently, which they did, and therefore if they hadn t have acted in that way, then our
client would not have been publicly humiliated by the State Of Victoria as a result. The court must
deliberate whether it is suitable to extend the scope of the defendant negligence to the harm caused
to the plaintiff and our client, Mr. Ragnarr. The harm that occurred, or similar harm, must have
been foreseeable in order for it to reach within the scope of liability upon the

The Disconnect Between The Church s Religion And Its...
The false dichotomy that I have chosen to discuss is the current disconnect between the church s
religion and its relationship with a concentration on its influence within a lost world. The
disconnect between these two dichotomies seems to be that one side has become comfortable in
their current state of salvation, and has fallen into a tradition based worship that seemingly lacks
intimacy, influence, and power. While the other side can at times, seem to be unorthodox,
potentially lacking order and reasoning. In discussing this topic, my hope is to accurately portray
both sides for what they are, and why I believe the church s that are found more on the relationship
principle align more with scripture s depiction of Christ s bride. The Merriam Webster dictionary
defines religionas the belief of a godor a group of gods while also stating that religion is an
organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules to worship a god or a group of gods.[1]
When a group of people gather and base their worship off of things done in the past and base
their worship on a belief rather than a knowledge or understanding of the one true God, it
becomes legalistic and rigid, lacking in passion and devotion. This belief creates a going through
the motions attitude which results in a body of believers lacking power to change their own
behaviors while also creating the depiction of a loveless, lifeless, self centered church that is saved
based off of their rituals and church

Global Positioning System
Wouldn t it be great if you could be sure that you would never be lost again? That you would
know exactly where you were at all times, whether at land, air, or sea. Well, that is possible with
modern technology. More specifically, that is possible with the help of GPS, the Global
Positioning System. GPS is a navigational tool that has recently become extremely popular because
of it wide range of uses. Whether you are a fisherman or an avid traveler, you could find some use
for GPS. And with GPS becoming more and more affordable, it won t belong until everyone is

After taking a third measurement and a third sphere is imagined, the possible points are then
narrowed down to only two. These are the two points in which all three spheres intersect. In most
cases, one of the points can be immediately thrown out because it is an unreasonable answer. That
leaves only the correct position.
In order to measure the distance of the satellites, GPS receivers measure the time it takes for radio
signals sent from the satellite to reach the base station on Earth. Once we have the precise time it
takes we can plug that number into a simple equation and we have our answer.
Speed of light * the precise time = Distance of the Satellite
The speed of light is the easy part; it is 186,000 miles per hour. It is measuring the precise time
that is so difficult. To solve this problem, something called the Pseudo Random Code (PRC) was
developed. The PRC is a complicated sequence of on and off pulses that is given off by both the
satellite and the base station. The PRC from both the satellite and the base station are played at
the exact same time and are then compared. When played, the two PRCs will be slightly out of
sync because one set of signals has to travel from the satellite in space. The time is measured on
the basis of this sync ratio and the distance can then be calculated. The Global Positioning System
(GPS) is used by an almost endless amount of people and professions. Although originally designed

What Does Disillusionment Of Ten O Clock Mean
Imagination is a crucial part of humanity. From the depths of the human mind, brilliant ideas can
emerge. The Disillusionment of Ten O Clock by Wallace Stevens, dramatizes how the average
person has lost all sense of imagination. The speaker focuses to comment on the white night
gowns of the people being observing, highlighting how typical and mundane their lives have
become (2). The poem then carries on to explain how they could have nightgowns that are purple
with green rings,/Or green with yellow rings or adorned with decorative trim, but the people still
choose to wear the same, white nightgowns (4 5). Finally, the poem concludes with the speaker
saying that the people will not have extravagant dreams; but sailors in their drunken states will
dream vividly. The poem urges to reader to become acquainted with a sense of imagination. .

Stevens, again, was very meticulous in using both a pirate and red weather. The pirate is the
antithesis of the people he is focusing on. Pirates are adventurous, bold, and place their faith in
abstract concepts like mermaids and treasure maps. They are not haunted by houses or suburbia
(1). Pirates are free to imagine what they want and when. The red weather part of the poem is
Stevens s way of exploring the pirate s own imagination. Since he is free to allow his mind to
roam, he can come up with obscure ideas like red weather. It does not make sense that the weather
is red, but that is the point. The reader is supposed to question why the weather now has color, and
how. It is the transitional point from dreaming only in white, to suddenly experiencing bright color.

reader that wants to create something. It urges them to move past trivial adulthood and get in touch
with the imaginative part of

Internal Analysis Of Equipment Division At Nike Essay
Assignment #2: Internal Analysis
I have completed an internal analysis of the equipment division at Nike through focusing on product
differentiation as their generic business strategy. In an effort to fully view the current state,
pertaining to competitive advantage, a VIRIO analysis was examined based on a handful of
resources and capabilities.
After reviewing the 12 bases of differentiation, Nike s equipment division focuses primarily on
product features, consumer marketing, reputation, linkages among functions in the firm, and links
with other firms.
Product Features: Product features is an obvious way in which Nike differentiates their products by
altering the features of the products they have on the market. Product features encompass the
characteristics of their equipment products provided by Nike. Nike is able to produce high quality
products through focusing on design and innovation. The current President and CEO, Mark Parker
stated, At Nike, we believe it is not enough to adapt to what the future may bring we re creating the
future we want to see through sustainable innovation. The company has built their legacy upon
continued improvement and innovation as they focus on their product features. However, Nike
does offer a variety of equipment products, which will be assessed more with the VRIO
breakdown. It may be difficult to have the resources available to gain a competitive advantage
among all the different product lines in which they are involved.

  • 2. How To Write An Essay On The Play Bat Boy For the production of Bat Boy, there were many tasks to be performed. Like usual there were the actors, the running crew, and the musicians. For this particular musical, the running crew had many different parts. The carpentry crew, which I was a part of, had a variety of jobs for the show. We were in charge of the fly system and for moving various portions of the set. For the fly system, there were four ropes and a travelersystem set up. Three of the ropes were used for the opening scene where the Taylor children would come in on their harnesses in the cave. Before the curtain would open we would fly them to the top, then as the curtain was opened we would fly them down to the ground. Each ropehad at least two people, if not more. The other rope was used for the flying of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A lot of the learning had to do with synchronization. Working on a production of that size, it is a necessity that everyone learns to work as a team. With an enormous cast and crew, and a set with many pieces, we all had to work in a way so that we could all do our jobs without interrupting others. The scenes in which we had to fly Bat Boy were the hardest because we had to get timing right for everything, as well as the fluidity of the pull. The scene where he flies out had to be a smooth movement. If it was choppy it wouldn t have looked right. Jumping off the acting block and pulling the rope with others took plenty of practice as well. For every fly scene, no matter how much practice we got, there would always be a point where we could end up grabbing each others hands while we were pulling on the rope. While this could have been a problem, we learned that we needed to just keep going with pulling the rope. Teamwork wise, the slaughterhouse wall and door were also something that took a lot of practice. Despite the challenges we faced while working on this production, we were able to overcome them and put on a great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Music That Made The Movement Music that Made the Movement The United States is a country which was formed by the hard work of the First Nations people, the British, and African Americans. Unfortunately, blacks were subjected to slavery. In the 1900 s blacks were becoming more discontented, thus began the emergence of the civil rights movement. Along with rallies and peaceful protests, music played a very important role in bringing change to a society where white supremacy reigned. In addition to their efforts, jazz and blues artists also contributed to the building of a strong America. Four black teenagers were arrested in the town of Marion, Indiana in the early morning of August 7, 1930. Sixteen year old James Cameron, nineteen year old Abram Smith and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mob then took Abram and dragged him to a large tree to be hanged. When he resisted, the lynchers broke his arms, stabbed him and was hung. Thomas body was then brought from the jail and was hung next to Abram s. Miraculously, when the mob was preparing a fire to light under the bodies of Thomas and Abram, a voice denied James involvement in the crime. He avoided his own hanging and was brought back to prison. The photographs of the two bodies hanging from the tree inspired Abel Meeropol, a teacher, to write the poem and song Strange Fruit . In 1939, jazz singer Billie Holiday adapted the song into her set list. With lyrics such as: Southern trees bear strange fruit, Blood on the leaves and blood at the root, Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze, Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees. It gives the horrific imagery of the bodies hanging from the trees and glimpse of the life in picturesque South. Holiday s performance of the song soon became a hallmark for the early civil rights movements as she often became overcome with emotions as she performed the song each night. Strange Fruit was the first significant protest in words and music, the first unmuted cry against racism and is what many describe as the beginning of the civil rights movement. • 5. The Chicano Movement, A Civil Rights Movement The Chicano movement, also known as El Movimiento, was a civil rights movement that began in the 1960s with a primary objective of attaining empowerment and self determination as well as rejecting and confronting the history of racism, discrimination and disenfranchisement of the Mexican American community and was much more militant than movements prior to it. Some issues the Chicano movement dealt with were farm workers rights, political rights, better education and restoration of land grants. Additionally, the movement sought to gain social equality and economic opportunity. The movement strove to tackle the stereotype the media and America synonymized with Mexicans. The Chicano movement was influenced by progress made in movements such as the Black Power Movement, antiwar movement and various others. Those who grew up before the start of the Chicano movement believed that assimilating into the American lifestyle and adopting their values, ideals and believing in their education and politics would help them become more white. The Mexican Americancommunity faced segregation in all parts of life. Chicano was used as a derogatory term towards Mexican Americans before the Chicano movement in the 1960s. Organizations formed in the early 1900s, such as the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), sought to end discrimination and segregation against Latinos. • 9. Security, The Big Picture 1.OBJECTIVE: Security, the big picture A secure enterprise , big or small, should have an approach to security that is comprehensive and end to end if it is to be effective. Most organizations do not have such policies and practices in place. There are some good reasons for this; security clearly comes at a cost. This cost can be measured not just in dollars, but also in complexity, time and efficiency. To make things secure, it is necessary to spend money, perform more procedures, and wait for these procedures to complete (or perhaps involve someone else). The reality is that true security programs are difficult to achieve. It is usually necessary to choose a schema that has a certain amount of cost and an understood amount of security coverage. (This is almost always less than comprehensive and end to end .) The point here is to make educated decisions for each aspect of an overall system and to consciously employ more or less in a calculated fashion. If one knows the areas that are less protected, one can at least monitor such areas to determine problems or breaches. 2.SCOPE: Knowing the network It is not possible to protect anything unless one clearly understands WHAT one wants to protect. Organizations of any size should have a set of documented resources, assets and systems. Each of these elements should have a relative value assigned in some manner as to their importance to the organization. Examples of things that should be considered are ... Some viewers believe that there is an increasingly large amount of violence on television and this widespread public concern has quot;led to calls for stricter controls on the depiction of violence in programmes quot; (Gunter and McAleer 1990:92). Exactly how much violence is there on television though? Many cultivation theorists have studied this, acquiring data in the form of content analysis. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is clearly obvious from the research already done concerning television and its effects, that violence is quite prevalent on British television. Of more concern however is the effect that those can have on its viewers. Does the violence on television really increase the violent attitudes and behaviour in individuals? Violence on television can do one of three things. The first is make us more violent (Huesmann 1982), the second is make us less violent (Feshbach 1972) and the third is to have no effect at all (Freedman 1984, Kaplan and Singer 1976). Most evidence has supported the first argument namely that television violence does increase our own violent behaviour. There are four main effects that cause this violent behaviour when viewing it on television. The first of these affects is arousal. It is believed that a violent programme increases levels of arousal and thus causes us to become more violent as we are not only excited by the programme but also agitated and nervous. This effect is not limited to violent programmes however, as a comedy programme may induce arousal in the form of amusement in the same way as a violent programme induces arousal in the form of anger. It is the type of arousal that occurs in the first place that determines the effect the programme has. Condry (1989:11) found that suspense programmes, comedy programmes and sport events ... Although several fans in my sample share her sentiment that Cash is similar to a member of their family Patsy places him in even higher esteem than do other fans. I isolate this example in the introduction to this chapter because of its mention that Johnny Cash, for Patsy, is not a god, but, as she says, he s pretty much the next thing to it. Fandom as religion literature maintains a tendency to bridge the gap between Patsy and God, by referring to the celebrity as a mediator or redeemer figure, in some cases, literally, and in others it is a metaphorical rendering. It is accurate to write the celebrity performs certain mediation for the fan; celebrities, through their image, mediate fans hopes and desires, but also more mundane ways fans interpret their world, such as the examples illustrated in Chapter 4. This is all based in part by allowing a crime laboratory to have a designated unit whose main goal is to analyze DNA evidence to aid investigators with positive outcomes in crime case solving. With that being said we are going to discuss the functions of a DNAunit within a crime lab as well as address the vital role these units play in solving crime. Let s start by defining what in fact is DNA analysis. According to the FBI s crime lab, the DNA analysis process can take place when bodily fluid stains and other biological tissues are found on physical evidence collected from a crime scene (FBI DNA Casework Unit, 2016). The DNA testing results obtained from evidence samples are compared to DNA from reference samples collected from known individuals. Such analyses may be able to associate victims and suspects with each other, with evidence items, or with a crime scene (FBI DNA Casework Unit, 2016). The FBI and other national crime labs can conduct nuclear, Y chromosome, and or mitochondrial DNA testing depending on the technology and funds appropriated to the unit. Smaller fielded units would probably not be able to do some testing which would result in them forwarding evidence or using other assets with greater capabilities. The letter took far too long to get to General Carleton. General Gage had credible human intelligence suggesting that the colonists wanted to take Fort Ticonderoga. While one understands that one must use the chain of command, one would think the immediacy of the letter was far more important and should have gone directly to Fort Ticonderoga, instead of the 10 day long ride to Montreal. And even if that was not proper protocol, General Gage could have at least sent an advisor with knowledge of surveillance techniques to Fort Ticonderoga to aid in their post and give better forewarning of a potential attack. Secondly, had the British force at Fort Ticonderoga had cavalry scouts assigned to it, there would not have been much of an American Revolution. The cavalry scouts would have picked up the trail of Colonels Allen, Arnold, and the Green Mountain Boys. The Scouts could have performed reconnaissance and then reported back to the garrison commander, putting the whole fort on guard. Leading up to, and amidst this time, physicians were tasked with learning human anatomy through the writing of Galan, an ancient Greek physician (129 216AD). The reason for such is that the Church was against the dissection of anatomical dissections. Supplemented by the additional burden of being reliant upon the weather as a means by which the bodies could be both preserved and cooled, anatomists rarely dissected corpses, and those that were studied were that of executed criminals. Andreas Vesalius was also a prominent artist, and anatomist within the Renaissance, famous for his, book: De Humani Corpis Fabrica (On the Fabric of the Human Body) (Laurenza 20). The false dichotomy that I have chosen to discuss is the current disconnect between the church s religion and its relationship with a concentration on its influence within a lost world. In most cases, one of the points can be immediately thrown out because it is an unreasonable answer. That leaves only the correct position. In order to measure the distance of the satellites, GPS receivers measure the time it takes for radio signals sent from the satellite to reach the base station on Earth. Once we have the precise time it takes we can plug that number into a simple equation and we have our answer. Speed of light * the precise time = Distance of the Satellite The speed of light is the easy part; it is 186,000 miles per hour. It is measuring the precise time that is so difficult. To solve this problem, something called the Pseudo Random Code (PRC) was developed. The PRC is a complicated sequence of on and off pulses that is given off by both the satellite and the base station. The PRC from both the satellite and the base station are played at the exact same time and are then compared. When played, the two PRCs will be slightly out of sync because one set of signals has to travel from the satellite in space. The time is measured on the basis of this sync ratio and the distance can then be calculated. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is used by an almost endless amount of people and professions.
