My Ideal Job Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "My Ideal Job" can be a challenging task as it requires a delicate
balance between personal aspirations, professional goals, and the reality of the job market. The
difficulty lies in articulating one's dreams and desires in a way that is both realistic and
compelling to the reader.
Firstly, the task demands introspection to identify and define what constitutes an "ideal job" for
the individual. This process involves self-discovery, considering personal interests, skills, and
values. Expressing these elements coherently in writing requires careful thought and the ability to
communicate effectively.
Moreover, the essay must navigate the fine line between ambition and practicality. While it's
essential to dream big and envision an ideal scenario, it's equally important to ground those
aspirations in the context of the real world. Addressing the feasibility of the chosen career path
and acknowledging potential challenges adds complexity to the writing process.
Crafting a compelling narrative is another challenge. The essay needs to engage the reader by
weaving a story that not only conveys the author's passion for the ideal job but also highlights
the relevance and significance of the chosen profession in the broader context of their life.
Additionally, the writer must be mindful of striking a balance between personal anecdotes and
broader industry insights. Incorporating relevant research and industry trends helps in
demonstrating a well-rounded understanding of the chosen field. This integration requires time
and effort to gather information and present it in a coherent and persuasive manner.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "My Ideal Job" demands a combination of
introspection, realism, storytelling skills, and industry knowledge. It's a task that requires careful
consideration and effective communication to convey the author's aspirations and justify the
feasibility of their ideal career path.

Variable Speed Control Techniques For Single Phase Ac...
ABSTRACT
This work presents a variable speed control techniques for single phase ac motor. A
pulse width modulation (PWM) AC chopper changes the value of the supply voltage
applied to a single phase motor. The variable supply voltage gives better speed
control of motor. Harmonics generated by unit of speed control are filtered by an
input filter circuit. Experimental results would be in 230V and speed control of
single phase motor shows that PWM AC Chopper is simple and cost effective control
method compared to better control method to other methods in terms of simplicity
and input harmonic content. In this harmonics reduction techniques for designing a
Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) AC voltagecontroller is required. So that Total
current Harmonics Distortion (THDi), obtained for to be minimized. In the Main
Circuit we have used Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBTs) or MOSFET to
obtain output waveform as we shown theory of AC voltage controller with PWM
techniques. We will be used at the end of project with Microcontroller are
presented. We obtained results by the analysis of the AC single phase motor and
PWM AC chopper is derived and its behavior of the system is studied by simulation
using MATLAB and PROTEUS. The Mains power factor, motor speed, and current
are analyzed for different conditions as using many circuits via op amp, IC 555,
optocoupler and ARDUINO. Harmonics analysis of the motor voltage and current are
given and compared with phase control techniques.
Shutter Island Mental Illness
In Denise Lehane s shutter island, there are many diagnoses that fall with Andrew
Laeddis. In the movie, Teddy Daniels and his partner Chuck Aule, travel to
Asheville hospital, located on Shutter Island, for the criminally insane. They are
investigating the disappearance of Rachel Solando who was admitted for drowning
her three children. As they are investigating, they discover that many of the staff are
not keen into looking at Rachel s disappearance. Dr. John Cawley refuses to turn
over records, and they learn that Solando s doctor, Dr. Lester Sheehan, left the island
on vacation immediately after Solando disappeared. Though they are given access to
the hospital, they are told Ward C is off limits, while the lighthouse has already been
searched.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These occur mainly while he is awake, but also manifest into his dreams of Rachel
Solando. Thus, Teddy is often having violent outburst caused by stress and by
forcing him to live out his delusion and find his wife s murderer, the doctors are
essentially increasing the amount of stress Andrew will experience from these
memories and the doctors do not provide a safe, controlled environment for
Andrew to re experience the traumatic events. Andrew and the other patients are
continuously put in danger while Andrew lives out his often violent and paranoid
delusion. Chuck, Teddy s partner does attempt to use Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy to alter Andrew s thoughts and feelings, but does so in a way that is
easily ignored. In the end, Teddy does come out of his delusion, but is
consequently distressed over what had occurred, that he willingly wants a
lobotomy so he can forget it. In conclusion, the mental illnesses cause Andrew
Laeddis to shoot his wife, and then get admitted into a hospital for the criminally
insane. He then creates a second identity being unable to handle the guilt of
shooting his wife and ignoring the signs of hew illness. It had started when he had
become an alcoholic after serving at WW11 and developing post traumatic stress
disorder. If Teddy had gotten help for his wife and her bipolar disorder as well as
getting help for is post traumatic stress disorder instead of

The controversy of the US national debt
The recent clash between the president and congress about raising the debt ceiling
made the front page on every newspaper throughout the country and generated
controversy of unimaginable proportion among the citizens of the United States of
America (College for Financial Planning). No macroeconomics issue is more
controversial today than the impact of large public debt on the economy and on
future generations, but, however, there appears to be a huge disconnect between
professional, political leaders, and the ordinary public about the national debt and its
impact on the current and future ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is mainly the central banks that own the debt (College for Financial Planning).
This growth in national debt has blunt consequences on inflation, interest rates and
growing economy. Foreign control of large amounts of government debtmeans that
the taxes will have to be raised to repay debt and percentage owned to overseas
governments which is not acceptable. Assuming that trade deficiency also exists it
will lead to depreciation of dollar which effect its position as a reserve currency,
and if during this process any new currency emerge as a replacement of reserve
currency, higher interest rates will be required to sell the debt to foreign countries
(Inflation). Raised interest rates have a negative impact on the economy and high
accumulation of debts leads to high interest rates (Spending). Hence the economy
suffers. This means that the funds for government programs like Social Security
and Medicare are not enough (Economic Progress Under Obama). Another
consequence of high national debt is the reduced flexibility in fiscal policy
(Spending). According to the article Congressional Budget Office in The Budget
and Economic Outlook: Fiscal Years 2010 to 2020, the reason for this
overwhelming increase in debt is because of three factors : the obvious difference
between federal revenues and spending done even before the impact of recession
caused this
Who I Am I
Many obstacles in my life have made me who I am today. I was raised in West
Portsmouth, Ohio, a small town built off football and family. Life in a small town
seems to go by very slowly. It s all about what you make out of it. Certain events
and certain people have influenced me in a way that has made me a better person.
The character of one s self is built from all the hard times we go through in life, not
always off of the easy ones.
My father has had a major influence on me during the course of my life, thus far. My
dad was in the Marine Corps before I was born. He was always strict with me with
every aspect of my life and has always pushed me to be a better person. Growing up,
I would see him get up early and come home late from work. He is a very hard
working man and I hope I develop at least half of his working abilities. He has taught
me the majority of what I know now. He is a very smart man and it s great to have a
role model like that as my father.
My mother always played a more studious role in my life. She graduated from
Shawnee State University with a degree in nursing. She is a very smart woman and
has always pushed me to get good grades and go to college. I could honestly say that
I wouldn t have received half the good grades as I did if it wasn t for her always
checking up and being there for me with my schooling. She s always had a job as
well and she strives to make me a better person religiously and mentally day by day.
The motivation she brings to me
Mexican Americans And Puerto Ricans Have Been Faced
With
Mexican Americans and Puerto Ricans have been faced with many social injustices
in the past; these include police brutality, racism, discrimination, poor housing
condition and many more. After a time they grew tired and decided to take action
against these injustices. This led many of them to became part of a social movements,
fighting for a change which were successful . A few of these movements included the
ChicanoMovement which involved Mexican Americans; they use boycotting, and
their manifesto, El Plan De Aztlan to fight against social injustice and also to fight
for nationalism and self determination. It was said to be one of the most successful
movement. Another was the Young Lord s Movement which was mainly Puerto

The first step the Young Lords took was cleaning the street of the Puerto Ricans
neighborhoods which had not been swept in weeks. After cleaning the streets the
sanitation workers refused to take up the bags that contained the trash from the street.
This prompted the Young lords to blocked the roads with the trash and also
branching out and blocking other areas. This prevented the buses from moving which
led to the city money for no one could take the bus.
These two scenes from the Chicano movement and the Young lord s movement were
similar in the sense that they use the strategy of prevent business owner and the city
from making money. The Chicanos went about this by boycotting, and also getting
other people in different states and around the world to not purchase Victoria
grapes. The Young Lords on the other hand blocked the streets, because of this bus
companies could not make money since the people could not take the bus. Both
groups knew that money is the paramount of America, so in order to get what they
wanted which was an end to the social unfairness. They had to come up with
political strategies that would prevent business owner and the city to lose
money, once they kept on losing money, they would see that something had to be
done. The difference revolved around what they were fighting against during the
specific scene. During the scene in Cesar Chavez s film, the Mexican Americans
were fighting against the low wages workers were earning and also the

Over-Protection In A Doll s House By Henrik Ibsen
Convincing oneself that over protection is the correct thing to do for someone else,
controls the other person s room for knowledge. In A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsen,
the author tailors the overprotective relationship between the main characters,
therefore they are flat characters in the story. The main characters, Nora and Torvald,
resort to guarding each other against the outside world and the lessons that come
from it to establish comfortin their lives. Neither of them allow growth in their
relationship, which can be harmful since it ultimately leads to a blockage in
recognizing the world s wonders. It is why Ibsen emphasizes that when comfort is the
chief concern of the home s foundation, the home gains no experience to make them

The main characters, Nora and Torvald, find themselves in a bind when that s all
they tend to do, more so Torvald towards Nora. Either way, Torvald s thoughts on
how he should control Nora, negatively affect Nora. However, it is because of her
deep awakening that she comes to terms with herself on how her life should actually
be. Torvald stunted Nora s growth throughout their whole marriage and now it s Nora
s job to switch that around, which is exactly what she does. Every relationship should
be based on strengthening their partner and motivating them to do so much better in
any sense so that both could become wise and experienced together, not the other way
The Significance Of Knowledge Management
1INTRODUCTION
Many organizations in the public sectors now understand the significance of
knowledge management in optimizing their operations. This realization comes from
the fact that organizations have to rely on people s ability (mental and physical) and
technology in establishing itself for a new economy. Organizations in the public
sector are knowledge intensive organizations and poor knowledge management
practices eventually leads to high operational cost, as a result of lost institutional
knowledge, knowledge gaps and poor decision making. (Luen and Al Hawamdeh,
2001).
Knowledge management is the ability of organizations to effectively utilize and

The Presidential Task Force on Power was established by the President Goodluck
Jonathan administration in June 2010. Its main objectives were to drive the
implementation of the reform of Nigeria s power sector, bring together all the
agencies that play a vital role in private sector investment in the power industry. It
also has the mandate to monitor the planning and execution of various process and
projects in generation, transmission, distribution and fuel to power that are critical to
meeting the stated service delivery targets of the power reform roadmap.

This episode makes use of the idea that all men are disinterested when hearing

nothing of any importance is being discussed. Meanwhile, the ladies know they are
free to discuss anything, and the guys will not pay attention. J.D. and Turk catch
some phrases that cause them to start listening. Once Carla and Elliot see this, the
ladies say strappy sandals and immediately the guys lose all interest into what is
being discussed. This is an example of how the show pokes at the masculine
Negative Effects Of Video Games Essay
Game Over Video games are one of the most popular entertainments in our modern
societies, and one of the best media of choice, targeting people from different
varieties and ages. They first started in 1972 as a computer tennis game called
pang, and then improved by increasing quality, and huge variety, until reaching
how they are today with HD editions and virtual reality and lots of other versions,
which made it more spread and immersed in our society specially between
adolescences and children. Making them more dipped in world of games that they
completely separate from their surroundings, and spend hours and hours in front of
a screen. Leading to several health, mental, physical, social, family, school
problems, and some of these might be severe. To date much of the impacts have
been negative focusing on its potential harm, with increasing number of people
playing video games daily, the world is going to face serious problems. Video
games have a great negative influence on one s mental health. Lots of researches
have been made in order to prove the great damage that gaming can cause. The
central nervous system is made up from white and gray matter, whom are found in
the brain, and are highly affected by video gaming. Gray matter is located on the top
of the brain, it serves to process information in the brain, and transport nutrients and
energy to the neurons and may even influence how well the neurons function and
communicate. Several studies have shown
Christian Non-Violence
Christian Non Violence Christian non violence finds its roots in the early church.
Origen (184 253 CE) said that Christ, no where teaches that it is right for his own
disciples to offer violence to anyone, however wicked. For he did not deem it in
keeping with the laws such as His to allow killing of any individual whatever.
Origen was not alone, but joined a chorus of early Church fathers including Tertullian
and Cyprian among others, in condemning every sort of killing both the guilty and
the innocent on the principle that killing is never permissible. These views were
motivated by the radical non violent life of JesusChrist who proclaimed peace even
through death on a violent cross.
Christian non violence has continued to be debated as Christians wrestle with how to
respond in the face of evil in the world. Jesus instructed, You have heard that is was
said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your
enemies and pray for those who persecute you. For many Christians it was one thing
to remain non violent in the face of violence towards oneself, but entirely another
thing to neglect defending another. The question then becomes to what extent then
can a Christian participate in a government and its use of force. Christian pacifists,
finding their roots in the Anabaptist tradition, traditional answer this question through
a doctrine of two kingdoms or vocations: the earthly or political vocation and the
heavenly or spiritual
Argumentative Essay On Student Loans
The student loan problem is starting to look clear enough on the surface. As students
are incurring oversized student debt, and are defaulting on that debt and threatening
their ability to access future credit that will and need one day. To this the approaches
to student loan debt collection are filled with problems, including improper recovery
tactics and informational imbalance regarding the repayment options. But the current
public policy conversations miss key issues that contribute to this debtmess, leading
to proffered solutions that also miss their mark. Although there is one way that this
problem could and can be fixed. In which it is essential for the government to be

Although there is few, these few are in fact very powerful. Being the ones who give
the students the loans, are none other than banks, and the federal government
companies. To this they are mostly opposed because they will in fact be losing a
huge amount of money. Banks and the federal government companies know that
once students sign on an official contract and borrow this currency, they have to by
law pay it back. Guaranteeing them to eventually having profitable enterprise. Such
that they can increase interest if a student misses a payment, in which they will win
either way. If a student pays on time or not. This is why they are very threatened to
this imposing of the government on taking action of the student debts. Although,
they don t know that even if they will have a guarantee of making there money
back, they are overall affecting the economy. By making students who one do not
even have money to start out with, are know having to pay throughout their lives
for their education that they really need in order to make some type of income.
These graduates are suffering a whole lot. Some also not having money to feed their
families and as well themselves. Creating poverty is never a good thing, and this is
exactly what the banks and federal government companies are doing. This is why
ultimately we need to use the solution of having the government to be involved and
take action by lowering the high interest rates of student
The Separation Process Of Naphthalene And Benzoic Acid
Naphthalene and benzoic acid are two compounds studied in this experiment. Sodium
benzoate is also an important substance involved in the separation process. The
separation technique used to extract the different compounds of a heterogeneous
mixture is based on solubility and density. Regarding naphthalene and benzoic acid,
their chemical properties differ from one another (Separation 1). The detailed
separation process of naphthalene and benzoic acid, found in a mixture, follows. First
of, when mixed together, benzoic acid and sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) react and
produce sodium benzoate, water and carbon dioxide (Separation 2).
Water has a particular density and naphthalene, as well as benzoic acid, are insoluble
in water. Regarding naphthalene, it does not react with sodium bicarbonate, but it
dissolves in ether () (Separation 2). Thus, by adding sodium bicarbonate and ether to
the benzoic acid naphthalene mixture, one is left with immiscible aqueous sodium
benzoate and naphthalene in ether solutions. Furthermore, ether is less dense than
water and so, an ether layer floats on water as the two solvents are mixed (U of
Missouri). Next, Pasteur pipettes are used to mix thoroughly the resulting solution, so
that the two distinct layers form into a centrifuge tube. As ether floats on water, it is
found at the top layer, whereas sodium benzoate, which contains the converted
amount of benzoic acid, is found in the water bottom layer of the centrifuge container

Round Trampoline Research Paper
Meta Description:
Trampoline is an equipment made of strong, stretched cloth over a solid frame made
of steel or iron using some coiled springs to connect. People jump on trampolines for
fun and sometimes even as a competitive game. A question quite often in mind that
arises is Which one should someone get a rectangular or a round trampoline?
Introduction
While trampolining is widely known to be a recreational activity there are other
benefits of this activity. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) in a study found
that jumping on a trampoline was more useful exercise than biking, running and also
Frisbee. People rated this to be an easier workout although it has the benefits of a
vigorous workout. This is because of the fact that when ... Show more content on

But according to research, more than 80% of the accidents happen because of the
absence of an enclosure. This enclosure is a mesh screen, fixed around the
trampoline which prevents the user getting too close to the edge. Also, checking the
trampoline mat for any cuts and if trampoline springs are firmly attached to the mat
always helps to be safe.
Weight Limit:
Maximum weight supported by a round trampoline is 400 pounds, whereas for
rectangular trampoline it is 450 pounds. Round trampoline supports only one jumper
at a time.
Cost Factor:
Round trampolines are cheaper and readily available in the market.
Bounce experience and Altitude of Jump:
Bounce experience and height are higher for rectangular trampoline due to more
space for takeoff.
Conclusion:
Rectangular trampoline is more suitable for training purposes while round one is
most appropriate for refreshment activities. Round trampoline is affordable and more
efficient when safety factor is considered. If you want a bigger bounce, a rectangular
trampoline is more suitable, but it should be kept in mind that it comes with an
expense of higher
Personal Statement Of Plastic Surgery
When I was ten years old, I was told I would need to undergo plastic surgery. I was
terrified and immediately burst into tears. I didn t become upset because I was
scared, but rather I assumed that undergoing plastic surgery meant the doctor was
going to cut a piece of my body out and replace it with plastic. I thought I was going
to be part Barbie. I eventually came to terms with this senseless idea of mine only to
learn plastic surgerywas nothing like that. This is where my interest in becoming a
physicianbegan. Prior to this, I had not had much exposure to healthcare, but that all
changed very quickly.
I was allergic to the post surgical medication and it caused me to break out. Thus, I
spent many nights in the emergency department and an abundant amount of time
in my doctors offices. By the time I was twelve I had already been a patient of a
plastic surgeon, dermatologist, pediatrician, endocrinologist, and I was about to
become the patient of an oncologist. Routine pre surgical blood work came back
abnormal and due to my family history, I was immediately sent to an oncologist.
The reason for my abnormal results that day was never found out, but I am very
fortunate I had nothing wrong with me. At this point, I realized that when I grew
up I wanted to be a physician. I wanted to be the person that helped so many others
like myself. I felt, at the age of 13, that I owed my health to these physicians and that
it was my duty to give back.
While in college, I became

What Archaeological Evidence is there for work and Business in Pompeii?
Like many towns in the Roman Empire, there were many jobs in Pompeii, and due
to the fact that very few people had kitchens, many people owned restaurants, bars
and various other food shops .
As well as food shops other popular businesses included Fishmongers, Merchants,
Weapon Smiths, Farmers and many more, most of the workers were however slaves.
Fishing:
Due to the fact that Pompeii was so close to the sea, a common job for the residents
was fishing, and because almost everyone went out for food almost every day, no
matter if the fishermen sold the fish to restaurants or directly on the street, they could
still make a good profit. Fishing was an even bigger ... Show more content on

equipment has been uncovered from various jobs. The forum and Macellum both
played a big part in the lives of the residents of Pompeii; whether they worked there

Pompeii were well paid, and because of this, it was quite a wealthy
Euthyphro
Main question of the Dialogue
The main question of this dialogue is the definition of the word holy or piety.
Euthyphro brags that he is more knowledgeable than his father on matters relating to
religion. In this case, Socrates suggests to Euthyphro to define that term. The first
definition fails to satisfy Socrates because of its limitation in application. Apparently,
Socrates perceives this definition as an example rather than a definition. Subsequent
arguments and line of questioning lead to five sets of definitions that are refined to
find the general definition. Socrates expects that the acceptable general definition of
the question will act as a reference point in his defense.
Problems with Euthyphro s initial definition
According ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, the argument would imply that the justification is both holy and unholy,
which is rationally impractical.
What Socrates uses to Combat Euthyphro s Conceptions of holiness
At the core of Socrates argument is the need to break down the definition of holiness
into smaller coherent characteristics. Socrates uses a series of question that are
consistent with Euthyphro s argument to ensure that he [Euthyphro] offers a
consistent flow of definitions of the word holy.
Euthyphro accepts these ideas because he offers different definitions that are in line
with the clarified ideations. Socrates uses basic philosophical question What is holy?
, which leads to a myriad of definitions with different characteristics. Euthyphro sums
up all these characteristics in the final definition.
Euthyphro s problem is that he is trying to show his prowess among social and
philosophical elite by proving his father to be impious. His ego coupled with his
father s flattery obscures Euthyphro from developing concrete definitions.
Deeper (Philosophical) Point of Justice
Socrates point on justice is that everything that is termed just ought to be entirely
holy. On the other hand, not everything that is deemed holy is just. However, the
term just is used interchangeably with the term morally good. I think Socrates point

In the other hand, the article argues about software that,
Licensing fees are a significant disadvantage of Windows, as they are based on the
number of users. Windows licenses (Server plus Exchange) cost around $100 per
user. Mac server, by contrast, allows unlimited numbers of users on a single license,
and the license comes free with the server.
Windows workstations can be connected to Mac servers, so using a Mac server could
considerably reduce both licensing and administration costs. UNIX and Linux
licenses are free, as is much of the applications software.
The table below, from Prince McLean at Apple Insider, demonstrates acquisition
cost savings of $25,489, or around 85%, by using a Mac OS server instead of
Windows. That s for 100 users. For the 10 and 25 user options in the table, using
SBS would cut the Windows licensing costs by nearly half, but Mac OS still comes
in way ahead.

The Appalachian Mountain Culture In James Still s River
Of...
The Appalachian mountain range is known for its vibrant music, coal mines, and
food, and Appalachian literature is full of mountain culture and history. James Still s
River of Earth centers around the life of an Appalachian family struggling between
an independent life as farmers, and the uncertain promise of prosperity offered by
coal mining camps. On the other hand, Gurney Norman s Divine Rights Trip takes
place in the 1960s chronicling the life of a hippie who travels across the country and,
eventually, back to the mountains. In the novels, the mother is the caretaker of her
son, the protagonist, and Estelle begins as D.R. s caretaker; the elements of fiction
and the sense of place contribute to these two females and an understanding of the
main characters. The main characterof River of Earth is a young boy whose name is
never revealed to the reader. Since the story is told from the main character s point
of view, the reader sees how the narrator changes through his own eyes. For instance,
the narrator s sense of identity leads to his change. In the novel, the reader observes
how the narrator identifies with his mother s way of life rather than his fathers. His
observations of their familydynamics lead to his decision to become a horse doctor.
However, after dealing with the colt s birth and the corn cob stuck in the cow s throat
the narrator is still squeamish towards that profession.
Along with his identity, the reader can get a sense of how the characters around
Shooting An Elephant Analysis
George Orwell s 1936 Shooting an Elephant, is a nonfiction narrative essay about an
incident that occurred during the time of Orwell s service as a police officer in
Burma. The essay is centered around an event in which he was forced to shoot an
elephant, resulting in a battle between his own personal beliefs and the expectations
of those around him. In human nature, often times, humans will play certain roles
which are dictated by what others expect of them. Humans will adapt to the
environment by any necessary means to survive. The moral dilemma Orwell
struggles with is clear through all stages of the essay, from beginning to end.

He is controlled by the will of the crowd. He has no choice but to shoot the elephant;
there is an obligation to perform for the Burmese people. He becomes a puppet,
performing the act of killing the elephant to impress the Burmese. He will let them
down and they will see through his act if he doesn t follow through with shooting the
elephant. Most importantly, he will give them cause to laugh at him.
As the essay comes to a climax, Orwell decides in order to avoid the
embarrassment, he must kill the elephant. Orwell gives significant attention to the
description of the elephant s death. He explains the death of the elephant through
every stage from the first shot, to the moment when it falls to its knees. In giving
the elephant s death such great attention, a sense of inner conflict is felt yet again;
a conflict at the heart of Orwell. He feels a sense of guilt as he tries to justify
shooting the elephant, in which, he felt was morally wrong. He says, Besides,
legally I had done the right thing, for a mad elephant has to be killed, like a mad
dog, if its owner fails to control it (317 18). Orwell knows that he should not have
have killed the elephant, although he tries to deny this fact because he wants to
convince himself he made the right choice in doing so.
To conclude, Orwell uses his experience to conveys the evil that results from inner
conflict due to pressures from the Burmese

Cathedral by Raymond Carver versus A + P by John Updike
In the short stories Cathedral by Raymond Carver and A + P by John Updike the
protagonists experience an epiphany that change their restricted way of thinking.
The main character, Sammy in John Updike s, A + P is a teenage boy working in
the town grocery store. Sammy experiences an epiphany when he decides to quit
his job at the grocery store. He quit because he believed that it was wrong of his
boss to treat customers poorly due to any pre conceived notion that was determined
by what the customer looks like. Raymond Carver s main character named the

It is unclear whether or not the husband s dislike for the blind man is fueled by
jealousy or by ignorance. It is clear that the husband s idea of what the company of
a blind man would be like is very stereotypical because he bases his opinion on
what he has seen in the movies, In the movies, the blind moved slowly and never
laughed. (Carver 473). The husband bases his judgment from movies and decides,
A blind man in my house was not something I was looking forward to. (Carver

enter the grocery store. His interest possibly provoked by the natural tendency of
being a young teenage boy and they being three girls dressed in bathing suites
alone. Once the three girls make their way through the grocery store, Sammy
immediately begins making his own judgment of their character based on the way
they walk and the way they look. Sammy while observing the three girls, names the
middle girl, Queenie simply based on her appearance and the way she walks. He
describes Queenie in a condescending way, She didn t look around, not this queen,
and she just walked straight on slowly, on these long white prima donna legs. She

through the grocery store to find their item he insults their intelligence without having

Is It Proper to place someone in jail for a seatbelt...
States across the nation have seat belt laws in place that make it a requirement for
drivers and passengers in vehicles that are being operated on public streets to wear
some sort of safety belt. In 1998, 41,471 people were killed in 6,334,000 reported
motor vehicle accidents in the United States. Seat belts are estimated to save 9,500
lives each year, and statistics show a higher degree of seat belt use in states that
aggressively enforce seat belt laws. The laws, as well as the punishmentsavailable for
violation of the laws vary by state. In most states, however, it is considered a
misdemeanor and punishable by a small fine. The properness of an arrest for such
violationsis a good question and has been... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When trying to determine whether or not it is proper to put someone in jail for
violating the seat belt law courts must examine the state s statutes to determine
whether or not an arrest could be deemed a violation of the citizens Fourth
Amendment rights. The Fourth Amendment provides the right of the people to be
secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches
and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable
cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be
searched, and the persons or things to be seized. Historically courts have evaluated
these cases by first determining if probable cause existed to make the arrest. Next,
they look at the reasonableness of the arrest, with reasonableness being measured as
an objective standard, not by the arresting officers state of mind.
In the case of Dunaway v. New York the court stated that the probable cause standard
applies to all arrests, without the need to balance the interests and circumstances
involved in a particular situation. In other words, if and officer arrests an individual
whom he or she believes to have committed even a minor crime in his presence there
has been no violation committed. The cases of both Whren v. United States and

Narrative Essay About Lady Gaga
I am going to share an incredible, breathtaking day in my life.
Earlier this year I attended Lady Gaga s sold out show, The Joanne World Tour in
Edmonton on August 3rd It was her second show after it kicked off in Vancouver.
My friend Kylie and I woke up at 4:45am to get ready. We showered, put on makeup
and got our outfits ready. My outfit was made a week prior to the show.
A leather jacket hot glued with diamonds, jewels and rhinestones with a red cross
painted in the middle on the back a reference to her song Judas . The words Lady
Gaga were glitter painted on the top and bottom, and under it I wore a Lady Gaga
shirt, the rest of the outfit, glitter leggings and the boots bedazzled with rhinestones.
We were ready by 6am, we then drove to the Rogers Centre arena. When we arrived
at the arena, we were lost and did not know how to get into the building, we
decided to message other fans who were already inside on Instagram, they replied
right away and said Go to the back and come up to the third floor, by ticket sales by
the time we found out where to go it was about 7:30 am. We went up to the third
floor and three other people were waiting for General Admission, the closest seats
possible, the downside is standing up and waiting for three hours. There were two
in early entry and one plus Kylie and I in regular entry. We sat in line waiting, as
the hours went by, more and more people started showing up, while we were
waiting, me and the girl who sat beside us would go
Alexander Pope And Jonathan Swift Satire Analysis
The question that I have decided to answer on for my mid term essay is question
3. In my answer I will look at how satire was used in two different pieces of work
and how it makes the reader to laugh and forget about the faults that the poet is trying
to convey. The two poets that I will discuss about in relation to satirein the 18th
century are Alexander Popeand Jonathan Swift. These two men were responsible for
exposing the flaws of British people and highlighting their hypocrisy in this period.
Satire is defined in the OED The use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to
expose and criticize people s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of
contemporary politics and other topical issues. (OED online). This use of humour, ...

Swift was born on November 30th, 1667, who was a clergyman and satirist and an
Irish author who grew up without a father (Murry,1954). Swifts poem The Lady s
Dressing Room is a prime example for exploring the duality between the public
and private of a woman and the part each portrayed within the society and culture
of this 18th century time period. The poem is of satirically theme that can be seen
as targeting the shallow narcissism of women, but is chiefly a celebration of
women who wish to embrace their natural selves Throughout this poem as the
reader I was questioning whether Swift was just simply targeting his satire on the
female sex for mere entertainment or was he conveying signs of misogynistic.
This opinion is also expressed by Rachel Jennings as she goes on to say I believe
this satire to be unfairly focused on the female sex with which I believed to be
misogynistic in nature. . Similar to The rape of the lock Swift starts his poem with
a Whitty remark, but unlike Popes Swifts is aimed at a certain sex, the female one.
Five hours (who can do it less in?) (Swift,1.), this is only humorous to the male sex
as is similar to jokes today that men always have to wait on the female counterpart,
but also one could think the Swift is shocked with how long it takes woman to arm
themselves with the shield that they call

popular music production. The goal of getting a good sound is no different now

Being away from home for the first time and having to start over and make all new
friends can be both exciting and intimidating at the same time. When I first moved
into my freshmen dorm at UNCW three years ago, I was certainly feeling this rush
of emotions. I was excited to meet new people, but also scared I wouldn t make
any friends who I connected as well with as my high school friends. I was
especially nervous about having to live with a roommate who I hardly knew. I had
always heard horror stories from my older friends and family members about
having a crazy roommate who they just couldn t get along with. Fortunately, my
roommmate Kelly and I became great friends and were not only able to survive
freshmen year of college, but continued to live together all four years of college. This
transformation in our relationship from virtual strangers, to the best of friends can be
explained by Charles Berger s Uncertainty Reduction Theory. Uncertainty Reduction
Theory is the assumption that when strangers meet, their primary concern is one of
uncertainty reduction or increasing the predictability about the behavior of both
themselves and others in the interaction. We are motivated to search for this
information for one of more of three reasons anticiptation of future interaction,
incentive value, and deviance. With Kelly my motives were mostly based on
anticipation of future interaction. Not only would I see her again, but I would have

Halloween, The Commercialization Of Candy And Costumes
If Americans were asked to give examples of holidays, they would most likely
mention the Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. These specific
dates, known as calendar customs, are traditional practices that have become
incorporated into culture due to social pressure, common usage, and parental or other
authority (Brunvand 406). Each holiday has rich, historical roots, and many of the
customs associated with them have been transmitted over several generations. In
addition, most contemporary holiday customs vary dramatically from the date s
original purpose. In the case of Halloween, the commercialization of candy and
costumes has contributed to a more family oriented atmosphere compared to the initial

The Irish, Scots, Germans, and even Haitians contributed to the rich lore surrounding
this day and helped ingrain their customs into the then popular culture. Furthermore,
there are many traditional rituals and superstitions associated with Halloween. Since
the ancient Celts thought the nonliving roamed the earth, they created costumes out
of animal pelts to ward off evil spirits. Fortunetelling and the utilization of large
bonfires for sacrifices and purification were also early customs. After the
Christianization of the holiday to commemorate saints and martyrs, the same
festivities, bonfires, and guising remained, but October 31st was renamed All
Hallows Eve. This inevitably turned into Halloween. Similar to European traditions,
America s Halloween has also evolved throughout the years. Halloween s
recognition was originally restricted in colonial America due to its non Christian
beliefs and practices, and it was practiced at a more local level. According to an
online source, The first celebrations included play parties, public events held to
celebrate the harvest, where neighbors would share stories of the dead and tell each
other s fortunes, dance, and sing ( History of Halloween ). Festivities were akin to
European traditions, but also included ghost stories and pranking. Beginning in the
twentieth century, Halloween

World War 1 was a deadly world wide war that changed balance of power in Europe
forever. The war started on June 28, 1914 when Austria declared war with Serbia
when an ultimatum was not met and the war ended in 1918 when an Armistice

Powers. The Allies were made up of Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Japan and near
the end of the war America, while the Central powers were made up of Germany,
Austria Hungary, the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria. During this time of war over

Trenches were dug out in the ground for protection, against machine guns and

go on for a hundred years. Usually, life in the trenches meant consent fighting and
battles, no side ever won because each side would encounter a bomb or some kind

example of a manipulative tactic Dwight uses his lies and false accounts of stories

there are many examples, when Rosemary and Tobias visit Chinook for

Promote Americanism In School
What can I Personally do to Promote Americanism in my School or Community?
Americanism is a word that we should all be familiar with. It is something that
defines this country and the people in it. Americanism to me is being courteous
and gracious to the country that you live in. In my essay, I will be talking about
what it means to have a flag in the classroom, community service, and how to be a
citizen of your town/city. My first main point is what it symbolizes to have a
school flag in the classroom. I believe that every classroom, big or small, should
have an American flag to support our country and be proud to live in it. This is
one of the many ways to show that you service the people that have sacrificed their
lives for us. The 50 stars represent the 50 states that are free because of them. They
are American heroes and the flag is representing that we will never forget them.
They are one with the flag. Believing in this, there should be a flag in practically

Depending on where you live, community service is different for everyone. But
despite where your community is, there is always a way to help out and contribute.
Community service is a way to show that you as a citizen, are grateful to live in a

homelessness in Canadian youth is occurring. This source explains how homelessness

In a study that was conducted in 1999 it was clear that women suffered abuse the
most, creating gaps in families resulting into homelessness. A study done in 1997
investigated whether or not bad childhood experiences played a factor into adult
homelessness. Family abuse is one of the main reasons why youth decide to become
homeless. Aboriginal people have the highest rate of homelessness in their
community. This article states that programs that only focus on training and
employment readiness are not what is needed by all homeless youth, but in fact, they
needed proper therapy to talk about their traumatizing adults to live better everyday
The Career Of A Physician
Introduction
It wasn t until recently, a few years ago, that I decided what career I wanted to
pursue. I first started off joining the military right out of high school and after my
fist enlistment of six years did I know that the military career field I was is (Food
Service) wasn t for me. I knew with my own personal experiences that I have
encountered through the military that I enjoyed helping people, and volunteering at
hospitals. I have always loved biology and anatomy, its remarkable what the human
body can accomplish. So when my enlistment was coming to an end I knew I would
take this change to go college using my military benefits. I knew right away I wanted
to do something in the medical career field, but wasn t sure which path to ... Show

That is what really drew me into this career field. I personal think this career is suited
very well for my personality as well as my career goals I have for myself. I believe I
can be happy do this career for the rest of my life.
About the Profession
As a physician assistant (PA) one can work in a variety of different settings; hospital,
private practice, government, and educational. I personality would like to reenter
the military with my PA degree and continue to serve the military until I reach
retirement, when than would apply to work for a veteran s hospital. As a PA your
job is to help and care for the sick, I cannot think of a better setting where people
are more deserving of treatment and care then military members. I would like to
help make sure patients are being listened to as well as proper care, I know from
previous experience that not all military healthcare providers take time to listen
and make their patients feel secure due to the high volume of patients and low
number of healthcare workers. But I would make it a point to try my best to
change at my end. I would like to specialize in dermatology, however I am still
open to new areas being that I haven t had much experience in any given specialties
yet. I really like that as a PA you are under the direct supervision of a doctor, and at
anytime they can step in. Most would see this as undermining, yet I see it as
protection and better care for
Renaissance And The Harlem Renaissance
Since time immemorial, art has been an integral tool in influencing a society, pushing
forth ideas, expressing the general atmosphere amongst the party s involved and
fighting vices in the society. Art is fundamental in the transformation of any society
through its ability to influence opinions and values. Through sound, vision any other
form that art may take, communications is enhanced. Visual art, Music and poetry
have always been the most used.
Some of the most redefining and revolutionary moments in the history of man
socially, have been catalyzed by use of art. Throughout the age s music, imagery and
poetry have been a fundamental tool in reaching out to the masses to condemn vices,
motivate people and bring awareness. One cannot underestimate the impact that art
has in influencing and communicating an idea to the people. Art is an integral
ingredient in the cohesion and integration of any society. Through poetry, the poet is
able to put across a message that resonates in the minds of the reader in an artistic
manner that ultimately triggers a response. Art is therefore a force to reckon with in
the transformation of a society or a regime.
One of the many revolutionary eras in history was the Harlem renaissance. This was a
sudden cultural revolution that was realized in the 1920s and it became popularly
known as the Harlem Renaissance or The New Negro movement . This is a particular
era that the African Americanpeople draw pride in. the era saw a cultural, social,
music and art explosion of epic proportions This was aimed at shifting the
stereotypical view of black people as uneducated, intellectually deprived farmers to
one of a complex, organized and intellectually equal to the whites. The Harlem
renaissance took place in 1920s thru 1930s. This era saw a phenomenon rise in
famous black writers and marked the onset of blues, musical theatre, blues, dance and
poetry. The new art caught on an appealed to the whites as well. Harlem became a
cultural and literature center. The African Americans artists and writers were gaining
recognition from the white. [2]
The Harlem renaissance sought to make the African American gain mainstream
acceptance through celebration of culture and expression. The

Buddhist Art Analysis
Everything means something. The artwork of Buddhism has special ways of
conveying meaning through their artwork. Everything from colors to hand gestures
means an incredible amount of information. As a newcomer to these ideas the best
way to convey what I have learned is by showing the artwork that made everything
come together and explain what they mean to the practice and to me. The first place
we visited was right outside of Chengdu. (See Figure.P1) This was the Wenshu
Monastery, the first monastery we visited on the program; it set the tone for the
difference between Chinese Buddhist Art and Tibetan Buddhist Art. The architecture
seen in Figure.P1 can be attribute to the Qing Dynasty around 1700 AD, although, the

In Chinese Buddhist monasteries such as Wenshu, it is common for Maitreya to be
portrayed sitting with prayer beads in one hand and the other resting in a relaxed

The University Of Southern California
The University of Southern California promotes five pillars for all of its students
to embody: faithful, scholarly, skillful, courageous, and ambitious. Of these five
traits, a student s possession of courage will take him or her on the greatest path to
success. USC relates the trait courageous to itself by proclaiming that students are
bold when faced with opportunities to contribute to USC s continuous efforts to
build a greater university for generations to come ( Five Traits of a Trojan ). While
this is true, this boldness is not necessarily shown immediately or developed
overnight. In addition, it is true that USC being courageous will benefit USC for

How does this definition tie the people in this array to courage? What do they all
have in common? Each of these figures was a strong, successful leader. It is not a
coincidence that this definition of courage coincides with great leadership. There are
many other examples and definitions of courage, such as the other definition
offered by Oxford: strength in the face of pain or grief (Oxford). Here, we have a
broader definition of courage that is less inclusive to negative examples. Yet, this
definition also embodies great leadership. Any leader of a minority group that has
overcome obstacles to achieve their goals fits into this definition, such as the
previously mentioned Nelson Mandela. Mandela protested against racism in the
South African government and helped to destroy South Africa s apartheid system (
Nelson Mandela ). Mandela contributed to the good life, embodied by life, liberty
and the pursuit of happiness by offering victims of discrimination opportunities to
seek greater liberty and happiness. All inspiring, influential leaders have
contributed to the good life for people facing injustice. Not all leaders, however,
have made the good life their goal. Leaders like Hitler and Bin Laden made it
impossible for millions of individuals to live the good life, so how is courage the
most necessary trait for living the good life? These individuals were courageous but

Symptoms And Treatment Of Delirium
Delirium is an acute change in brain function that can be accompanied by inattention
and either a change in cognition or perceptual disturbances (Allen and Alexander,
2012). Delirium in critical care patients is very common, it actually occurs in 2 out of
3 intensive care patients who are on a ventilator, but often goes undetected because
deliriummonitoring is considered too time consuming or unreliable (Reade and
Finfer, 2014). Intensive care unit (ICU) patients that have delirium spend more days
on a ventilator, remain on sedation longer, have increased chance for infections, have
longer hospitalstays, and higher mortality rates during their hospital admission and in
the 6 months after.
According to Eastwood, Peck, Bellomo, Baldwin, and Reade (2012), most of these
patients are also left with permanent cognitive problems that they struggle with for
years. Not only does delirium cause more issues with the patients, it can cost the
hospital more money due to increased length of stay, hospital acquired infections such
as pneumonia, and re admissions. Studies have shown that using the confusion
assessment method (CAM) every shift, and performing the assessment correctly, can
help detect delirium in ICU patients earlier. When delirium is caught early the
healthcare team can initiate interventions to decrease the severity of delirium and
work towards better outcomes for the patient.
Identified Current Practice Issue
ICU patients are not being assessed for delirium every

The Inauthenticity in Credentialing
One of the biggest worries in a high school senior s mind is whether or not they will
be accepted into the program of their first choice. It has become hardly a choice in
whether a high school graduate will continue in postsecondary studies because just to
be considered for a job, the credentials that come after a name is crucial. In Jane
Jacobs Credentialing Versus Educating, she argues that since the Great Depression,
obtaining a degree has become gradually more important, not to gain an education,
but to acquire its credentials that employers look for before hiring. More people are
attending postsecondary programs than a few decades ... Show more content on

People today, myself included, have accepted this criterion and consequently, from
the start of their child s high school career, parents will continuously stress the
importance of achieving high grades in their classes so that they will be accepted
into a good university. In high schools, I always heard my fellow classmates
talking about their hopes of attending law school or med school in the future. In
reality, it is likely that those may not be their actual hopes and dreams, but what
they really want is a job with a good pay. In one paragraph, Jacobs recalls how her
father was employed as a doctor and because of this, during the Great Depression,
he was still able to get by despite the mass unemployment (54). Children are
pressured to do well and earn promising credentials to ensure they are hired in
admirable, steady positions in the future and have a decent income salary, such as
Jacob s father. It has become more and more frequent for students in high school to
take a challenging course in a private institution, like many of my friends did, so
they can obtain a higher grade to meet requirements for a university programs that
they, in truth, have no desire to study in. Thus, some programs, such as business,
have a great deal of applicants each year and many of those who are accepted and
studying in their chosen field are not

Example Of An Epictetus
What Epictetus means by this is, that you get upset because something doesn t go
the way you thought it would, or that it doesn t follow your beliefs. You have a
false view of the world, and when things don t follow this false view of the world
you get upset. They get upset with others and the world around them. This is because
they have a fictional view of the world around them. If they where to just except that
the world was never going to happen the way they thoughtit would, and if they were
able to just except that the world was never going to happen that way it would make
them happier. This is the same when someone irritates you. It s not the person that
irritates you. It s the fact that this person doesn t follow you own beliefs. Whether
those beliefs are on how the world works or how people should treat you.... Show

If you are able to understand this you will become much happier, because you will
understand that there is no other way that this could have happened and that there

believed that on your birthday your believed that every person you meet should
give you a birthday present, and after going to class no one in class gave you a
birthday present. You would become very angry and irritated with everyone in your
class. But your not angry with the fact that they didn t bring you presents. Your
irrigated by the fact that you thought that everyone was going to bring you a present,
because this was a fictional view of your world and other
Samurai Knights Similarities
Are Samurai and knights similarities greater than their differences?
Taija Jones 6th
Are there more differences or similarities when it comes to knights and samurais?
From samurais being actual leaders in a social pyramid to knights almost being at the
bottom of theirs. The government loss control so it led to feudalism. Which is a social
system drawn as a pyramid. In the feudal system in both europe and japan nobles
gave loyalty and military services. In Japan the military system was established by
the shogun it was not in Europe. Shogun was a powerful general who once became
ruler of the country. Are samuraiand knights similarities greater than their
differences? Before that question is actually answered what is a samurai and or ...

I ll be talking about social order, Military and armor and what really a samurai and or
a knight is. A reason their differences are truly greater than their similarities is the
social pyramid. In Japan the group that was more like a lord was a daimyo, A
daimyo was also a landowner. Samurais where hired by daimyos for protection in
return they d get land or a payment. In Europe a lord was a landowner which is like
a daimyo. A knight would have their military and loyalty in return for land or
payment. This seems like a pretty important statement. Another example of a
similarity is their way of training which was also very similar . They both started
from a very young age. A knight at age seven and a samurai also at their earlier
years. They both did physical training, Chinese studies, Poetry and spiritual
discipline. This is also really good because they both have chinese studies for their
early aged training. A last reason that samurais and knights similarities are greater
than their differences might be their codes. A samurai s code of honor would have
been bushido, which means that a samurai had to have loyalty and was devoted to
their duty. A knight s code would have been the code
Use of the Battered Woman Defense in Canada
The battered woman defense is a defense that is used in court to defend assault
/murder charges where the defendant is abused and commits a offence under duress
or necessity. It is mainly used by women and also referred to as the battered woman
syndrome/battered wife syndrome.
It is not gender specific as men have used this defense but the majority of the
accused are female. The argument consists of a woman who are physically
assaulted or sexually assaulted, who in their mind thinks they deserve the abuse
from the abuser. Which is why they very rarely report it to the authorities and refuse
to press charges and the abuse keeps on occurring. They may become depressed and

.(USDJ,1996)As in the Angelina Napolitano case where killed her husband to save
her life.
The plea of duress is when the abusers had to agree with the abusers demands to
stop something else worse from happening. This may include illegal activity, illegal
behavior, drug related activity, theft, fraud, or violence to others. To argue this plea
of duress the judge has to find it was necessary to agree under that circumstances he
/she was in harm or serious threat to their life or well being and this was the only
way to avoid it.(USDJ,1996)
Angelina Napolitano was a immigrant who came to Canada in 1909. She was
married to Pietro. Their marriage was violent as Pietro abused, beat, and threatened
his wife. In November 1910 Pietro attacked her with a pocketknife assaulting her
causing 9 slashes to her neck, shoulder, chest and arms putting her in the hospital and
leaving scars. Pietro was charged with assault but his abuse reign continued after the
trial because his sentence was delayed for a period of time. Judges back then would
often do this as a prohibition period. If the defendant didn t break the law again in
this period the cases would get thrown out. (Franca Iacovetta)
Pietro was a labor that worked off and on. When they could not save enough money
to build their own home he became more violent and started pressuring Angelina into
prostitution for money. On April 16, 1911 he threatened her again and as he put it be
a bad woman if she did
The Common Core State Standard For Language Arts
To Kill a Mockingbird: Modern Day Parallels, Evolution of Compassion, and Guide
to Leadership The Common Core State Standard for Language Arts, which is the
current standards observed by North Carolina, determines the particular proficiency
students need in order to be prepared for their academic and professional futures
according to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. They add that
some of these skills include, but are not limited to critical thinking skills, literacy
skills and analytical skills. Current process, for the most part, do help establish a
framework for keeping materials relevant to the maturity level of students. However,
if students or parents feel as if their values or beliefs don t line up with current
standards of education, complications can arise. Complications such as the censorship
of beneficial literature can have negative consequences in society. In agreement with
Judy Blume, If every individual with an agenda had his/her way, the shelves in the
school library would be close to empty. Although there are many books that have
either been banned or challenged, according to The Committee on Intellectual
Freedom of the American Library Association, To Kill a Mockingbird
is listed as being
among the 10 most frequently challenged books (Karolides, Bald, and Sova 483).
Naturally, To Killa Mockingbird s use of explicit racial language and depictions of

Pollution And Air Pollution
One of the man kinds biggest contributor to pollution is driving cars. Heavily
populated cities, to be exact, are the most to blame for their horrendous living
conditions. The pollution in Beijing has caused the city to be a hazard for anyone
who breathes oxygen. According to an article from Forbes Magazine, tiny
carcinogenic particles known as PM2.5 reportedly at times are above 300
micrograms per cubic meter. The World Health Organization s recommended
maximum exposer is 25 micrograms . Side effects such as early deaths, heart and
lung problems, cancer, diabetes, birth defects plague the millions of people who live
there. In a few years the city could find a simple fix just by switching to electric
vehicles.
The problem of atmospheric pollution due to automobiles is beyond the point of
being a serious issue. Journalist Viola Zhou of the South China Morning Post said
As well as the health risks, rising ozone levels in China are also damaging its rice
yields a problem that could compromise global food security, according to a recent
study led by researchers at the University of California, Davis .
It seems as if the Chinese government might not have the issue under control.
Although they have sent of multiple teams of officials to dozens of cities around
Beijing to try grab hold of the smog problem, pollutant levels have risen to nearly
14% from 2013 2016 (South Morning China Post). According to the online source
The Guardian, in May of 2017 dozens of flights had to be canceled and civilians
were told to stay inside because the air quality was so poor. Li Shuo, Greenpeace s
Beijing based climate campaigner, tweeted Sand storm + industrial pollution =
airpocalypse in the middle of spring, . The levels of the particle PM10 were
reportedly over 2,000 micrograms per cubic gram (Guardian 1). Living a healthy
life is essentially impossible for anyone who breathes oxygen in Beijing. Lung
disease amongst many other variables control the lifestyle there. If a change from
fossil fuel powered machines isn t implemented immediately, the people of Beijing
won t stand a chance.
The option of hybrid cars is not sustainable at this point. The pollution and emission
level is so high, that a drastic change in fuel

My Ideal Job Essay.pdf

  • 1. My Ideal Job Essay Writing an essay on the topic of "My Ideal Job" can be a challenging task as it requires a delicate balance between personal aspirations, professional goals, and the reality of the job market. The difficulty lies in articulating one's dreams and desires in a way that is both realistic and compelling to the reader. Firstly, the task demands introspection to identify and define what constitutes an "ideal job" for the individual. This process involves self-discovery, considering personal interests, skills, and values. Expressing these elements coherently in writing requires careful thought and the ability to communicate effectively. Moreover, the essay must navigate the fine line between ambition and practicality. While it's essential to dream big and envision an ideal scenario, it's equally important to ground those aspirations in the context of the real world. Addressing the feasibility of the chosen career path and acknowledging potential challenges adds complexity to the writing process. Crafting a compelling narrative is another challenge. The essay needs to engage the reader by weaving a story that not only conveys the author's passion for the ideal job but also highlights the relevance and significance of the chosen profession in the broader context of their life. Additionally, the writer must be mindful of striking a balance between personal anecdotes and broader industry insights. Incorporating relevant research and industry trends helps in demonstrating a well-rounded understanding of the chosen field. This integration requires time and effort to gather information and present it in a coherent and persuasive manner. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "My Ideal Job" demands a combination of introspection, realism, storytelling skills, and industry knowledge. It's a task that requires careful consideration and effective communication to convey the author's aspirations and justify the feasibility of their ideal career path. • 2. Variable Speed Control Techniques For Single Phase Ac... ABSTRACT This work presents a variable speed control techniques for single phase ac motor. A pulse width modulation (PWM) AC chopper changes the value of the supply voltage applied to a single phase motor. The variable supply voltage gives better speed control of motor. Harmonics generated by unit of speed control are filtered by an input filter circuit. Experimental results would be in 230V and speed control of single phase motor shows that PWM AC Chopper is simple and cost effective control method compared to better control method to other methods in terms of simplicity and input harmonic content. In this harmonics reduction techniques for designing a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) AC voltagecontroller is required. So that Total current Harmonics Distortion (THDi), obtained for to be minimized. In the Main Circuit we have used Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBTs) or MOSFET to obtain output waveform as we shown theory of AC voltage controller with PWM techniques. We will be used at the end of project with Microcontroller are presented. We obtained results by the analysis of the AC single phase motor and PWM AC chopper is derived and its behavior of the system is studied by simulation using MATLAB and PROTEUS. The Mains power factor, motor speed, and current are analyzed for different conditions as using many circuits via op amp, IC 555, optocoupler and ARDUINO. Harmonics analysis of the motor voltage and current are given and compared with phase control techniques.

In the movie, Teddy Daniels and his partner Chuck Aule, travel to Asheville hospital, located on Shutter Island, for the criminally insane. They are investigating the disappearance of Rachel Solando who was admitted for drowning her three children. As they are investigating, they discover that many of the staff are not keen into looking at Rachel s disappearance. Dr. John Cawley refuses to turn over records, and they learn that Solando s doctor, Dr. Lester Sheehan, left the island on vacation immediately after Solando disappeared. Though they are given access to the hospital, they are told Ward C is off limits, while the lighthouse has already been searched.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These occur mainly while he is awake, but also manifest into his dreams of Rachel Solando. Thus, Teddy is often having violent outburst caused by stress and by forcing him to live out his delusion and find his wife s murderer, the doctors are essentially increasing the amount of stress Andrew will experience from these memories and the doctors do not provide a safe, controlled environment for Andrew to re experience the traumatic events. Andrew and the other patients are continuously put in danger while Andrew lives out his often violent and paranoid delusion. Chuck, Teddy s partner does attempt to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to alter Andrew s thoughts and feelings, but does so in a way that is easily ignored. In the end, Teddy does come out of his delusion, but is consequently distressed over what had occurred, that he willingly wants a lobotomy so he can forget it. In conclusion, the mental illnesses cause Andrew Laeddis to shoot his wife, and then get admitted into a hospital for the criminally insane. He then creates a second identity being unable to handle the guilt of shooting his wife and ignoring the signs of hew illness. • 5. Controversy on the US national debt Cristian Cobb Marcia Stofel Advance Placement English Language and Compression 3 February 2014 The controversy of the US national debt The recent clash between the president and congress about raising the debt ceiling made the front page on every newspaper throughout the country and generated controversy of unimaginable proportion among the citizens of the United States of America (College for Financial Planning). No macroeconomics issue is more controversial today than the impact of large public debt on the economy and on future generations, but, however, there appears to be a huge disconnect between professional, political leaders, and the ordinary public about the national debt and its impact on the current and future ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is mainly the central banks that own the debt (College for Financial Planning). This growth in national debt has blunt consequences on inflation, interest rates and growing economy. Foreign control of large amounts of government debtmeans that the taxes will have to be raised to repay debt and percentage owned to overseas governments which is not acceptable. Assuming that trade deficiency also exists it will lead to depreciation of dollar which effect its position as a reserve currency, and if during this process any new currency emerge as a replacement of reserve currency, higher interest rates will be required to sell the debt to foreign countries (Inflation). Raised interest rates have a negative impact on the economy and high accumulation of debts leads to high interest rates (Spending). Hence the economy suffers. This means that the funds for government programs like Social Security and Medicare are not enough (Economic Progress Under Obama). Another consequence of high national debt is the reduced flexibility in fiscal policy (Spending). According to the article Congressional Budget Office in The Budget and Economic Outlook: Fiscal Years 2010 to 2020, the reason for this overwhelming increase in debt is because of three factors : the obvious difference between federal revenues and spending done even before the impact of recession caused this
  • 6. Who I Am I Many obstacles in my life have made me who I am today. I was raised in West Portsmouth, Ohio, a small town built off football and family. Life in a small town seems to go by very slowly. It s all about what you make out of it. Certain events and certain people have influenced me in a way that has made me a better person. The character of one s self is built from all the hard times we go through in life, not always off of the easy ones. My father has had a major influence on me during the course of my life, thus far. My dad was in the Marine Corps before I was born. He was always strict with me with every aspect of my life and has always pushed me to be a better person. Growing up, I would see him get up early and come home late from work. He is a very hard working man and I hope I develop at least half of his working abilities. He has taught me the majority of what I know now. He is a very smart man and it s great to have a role model like that as my father. My mother always played a more studious role in my life. She graduated from Shawnee State University with a degree in nursing. She is a very smart woman and has always pushed me to get good grades and go to college. I could honestly say that I wouldn t have received half the good grades as I did if it wasn t for her always checking up and being there for me with my schooling. She s always had a job as well and she strives to make me a better person religiously and mentally day by day. The motivation she brings to me

The first step the Young Lords took was cleaning the street of the Puerto Ricans neighborhoods which had not been swept in weeks. After cleaning the streets the sanitation workers refused to take up the bags that contained the trash from the street. This prompted the Young lords to blocked the roads with the trash and also branching out and blocking other areas. This prevented the buses from moving which led to the city money for no one could take the bus. These two scenes from the Chicano movement and the Young lord s movement were similar in the sense that they use the strategy of prevent business owner and the city from making money. The Chicanos went about this by boycotting, and also getting other people in different states and around the world to not purchase Victoria grapes. The Young Lords on the other hand blocked the streets, because of this bus companies could not make money since the people could not take the bus. Both groups knew that money is the paramount of America, so in order to get what they wanted which was an end to the social unfairness. They had to come up with political strategies that would prevent business owner and the city to lose money, once they kept on losing money, they would see that something had to be done. The difference revolved around what they were fighting against during the specific scene. During the scene in Cesar Chavez s film, the Mexican Americans were fighting against the low wages workers were earning and also the

  • 13. Christian Non-Violence Christian Non Violence Christian non violence finds its roots in the early church. Origen (184 253 CE) said that Christ, no where teaches that it is right for his own disciples to offer violence to anyone, however wicked. For he did not deem it in keeping with the laws such as His to allow killing of any individual whatever. Origen was not alone, but joined a chorus of early Church fathers including Tertullian and Cyprian among others, in condemning every sort of killing both the guilty and the innocent on the principle that killing is never permissible. These views were motivated by the radical non violent life of JesusChrist who proclaimed peace even through death on a violent cross. Christian non violence has continued to be debated as Christians wrestle with how to respond in the face of evil in the world. Jesus instructed, You have heard that is was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. For many Christians it was one thing to remain non violent in the face of violence towards oneself, but entirely another thing to neglect defending another. The question then becomes to what extent then can a Christian participate in a government and its use of force. Christian pacifists, finding their roots in the Anabaptist tradition, traditional answer this question through a doctrine of two kingdoms or vocations: the earthly or political vocation and the heavenly or spiritual

Sodium benzoate is also an important substance involved in the separation process. The separation technique used to extract the different compounds of a heterogeneous mixture is based on solubility and density. Regarding naphthalene and benzoic acid, their chemical properties differ from one another (Separation 1). The detailed separation process of naphthalene and benzoic acid, found in a mixture, follows. First of, when mixed together, benzoic acid and sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) react and produce sodium benzoate, water and carbon dioxide (Separation 2). Water has a particular density and naphthalene, as well as benzoic acid, are insoluble in water. Regarding naphthalene, it does not react with sodium bicarbonate, but it dissolves in ether () (Separation 2). Thus, by adding sodium bicarbonate and ether to the benzoic acid naphthalene mixture, one is left with immiscible aqueous sodium benzoate and naphthalene in ether solutions. Furthermore, ether is less dense than water and so, an ether layer floats on water as the two solvents are mixed (U of Missouri). Next, Pasteur pipettes are used to mix thoroughly the resulting solution, so that the two distinct layers form into a centrifuge tube. As ether floats on water, it is found at the top layer, whereas sodium benzoate, which contains the converted amount of benzoic acid, is found in the water bottom layer of the centrifuge container ( Separation

The first definition fails to satisfy Socrates because of its limitation in application. Apparently, Socrates perceives this definition as an example rather than a definition. What Socrates uses to Combat Euthyphro s Conceptions of holiness At the core of Socrates argument is the need to break down the definition of holiness into smaller coherent characteristics. Socrates uses a series of question that are consistent with Euthyphro s argument to ensure that he [Euthyphro] offers a consistent flow of definitions of the word holy. Euthyphro accepts these ideas because he offers different definitions that are in line with the clarified ideations. Socrates uses basic philosophical question What is holy? , which leads to a myriad of definitions with different characteristics. Euthyphro sums up all these characteristics in the final definition. Euthyphro s problem is that he is trying to show his prowess among social and philosophical elite by proving his father to be impious. His ego coupled with his father s flattery obscures Euthyphro from developing concrete definitions. Deeper (Philosophical) Point of Justice Socrates point on justice is that everything that is termed just ought to be entirely holy. On the other hand, not everything that is deemed holy is just. However, the term just is used interchangeably with the term morally good. I think Socrates point is to find enough proof to support any premise beyond reasonable doubt. Significance of the abrupt

Uncertainty Reduction Theory And Uncertainty Reduction Theory Being away from home for the first time and having to start over and make all new friends can be both exciting and intimidating at the same time. When I first moved into my freshmen dorm at UNCW three years ago, I was certainly feeling this rush of emotions. I was excited to meet new people, but also scared I wouldn t make any friends who I connected as well with as my high school friends. I was especially nervous about having to live with a roommate who I hardly knew. I had always heard horror stories from my older friends and family members about having a crazy roommate who they just couldn t get along with. Fortunately, my roommmate Kelly and I became great friends and were not only able to survive freshmen year of college, but continued to live together all four years of college. This transformation in our relationship from virtual strangers, to the best of friends can be explained by Charles Berger s Uncertainty Reduction Theory. Uncertainty Reduction Theory is the assumption that when strangers meet, their primary concern is one of uncertainty reduction or increasing the predictability about the behavior of both themselves and others in the interaction. We are motivated to search for this information for one of more of three reasons anticiptation of future interaction, incentive value, and deviance. With Kelly my motives were mostly based on anticipation of future interaction. Not only would I see her again, but I would have to interact with on a daily basis on a

Since the ancient Celts thought the nonliving roamed the earth, they created costumes out of animal pelts to ward off evil spirits. Fortunetelling and the utilization of large bonfires for sacrifices and purification were also early customs. After the Christianization of the holiday to commemorate saints and martyrs, the same festivities, bonfires, and guising remained, but October 31st was renamed All Hallows Eve. This inevitably turned into Halloween. Similar to European traditions, America s Halloween has also evolved throughout the years. Halloween s recognition was originally restricted in colonial America due to its non Christian beliefs and practices, and it was practiced at a more local level. According to an online source, The first celebrations included play parties, public events held to celebrate the harvest, where neighbors would share stories of the dead and tell each other s fortunes, dance, and sing ( History of Halloween ). Festivities were akin to European traditions, but also included ghost stories and pranking. Beginning in the twentieth century, Halloween

Delirium in critical care patients is very common, it actually occurs in 2 out of 3 intensive care patients who are on a ventilator, but often goes undetected because deliriummonitoring is considered too time consuming or unreliable (Reade and Finfer, 2014). Intensive care unit (ICU) patients that have delirium spend more days on a ventilator, remain on sedation longer, have increased chance for infections, have longer hospitalstays, and higher mortality rates during their hospital admission and in the 6 months after. Not only does delirium cause more issues with the patients, it can cost the hospital more money due to increased length of stay, hospital acquired infections such as pneumonia, and re admissions. Studies have shown that using the confusion assessment method (CAM) every shift, and performing the assessment correctly, can help detect delirium in ICU patients earlier. When delirium is caught early the healthcare team can initiate interventions to decrease the severity of delirium and work towards better outcomes for the patient. • 54. Pollution And Air Pollution One of the man kinds biggest contributor to pollution is driving cars. Heavily populated cities, to be exact, are the most to blame for their horrendous living conditions. The pollution in Beijing has caused the city to be a hazard for anyone who breathes oxygen. According to an article from Forbes Magazine, tiny carcinogenic particles known as PM2.5 reportedly at times are above 300 micrograms per cubic meter. The World Health Organization s recommended maximum exposer is 25 micrograms . Side effects such as early deaths, heart and lung problems, cancer, diabetes, birth defects plague the millions of people who live there. In a few years the city could find a simple fix just by switching to electric vehicles. The problem of atmospheric pollution due to automobiles is beyond the point of being a serious issue. The levels of the particle PM10 were reportedly over 2,000 micrograms per cubic gram (Guardian 1). Living a healthy life is essentially impossible for anyone who breathes oxygen in Beijing. Lung disease amongst many other variables control the lifestyle there. If a change from fossil fuel powered machines isn t implemented immediately, the people of Beijing won t stand a chance. The option of hybrid cars is not sustainable at this point. The pollution and emission level is so high, that a drastic change in fuel
