Near Field Communication ( Nfc )
NFC Report Name Date Near field communication (NFC) Near field communication (NFC) is a set of
protocols that allow communication between two electronic devices. Most commonly this technology
is used for communication between portable devices like smartphones. Even though it is a contact less
system of communication, it requires that the devices are within 4 cm or 1.57 inch distance from each
other (Carter Faulkner, 2015). Basically, this technology relies on creating a low speed connection
between the devices which has a very simple setting up procedure. It has found application in a vast
variety of applications, ranging from contact less payment from credit and debit cards as well as the
smartphone based payment techniques, to the social networking applications as well, where media and
contact information can be shared wirelessly between devices. NFC technology has also found
application for identity related documents and keycards. Encoding and Encryptions The technology
that allows contactless transactions, because of its simplicity and effectiveness has become an integral
part of people s daily usage. However, there are many concerns regarding security that people have
expressed about it, most of which are quite valid. For example, one of the common application of
NFC technology is its ability to make purchases through different credit and debit card accounts, very
simply through one s smartphone. However, this feature, even though convenient,

Lobbying Disclosure Act Case Study
With the assistance of the lobbying business, Washington s territorial economy appears to have
weathered the financial tempest of late years. Congress passed a 1995 Lobbying Disclosure Act
(LDA), which apparently obliged all lobbyists to report their exercises for the benefit of paying
customers, the answer have to be an easy decision: simply discover the lawfully ordered divulgence
structures, and number them up. While thousands of lobbyists work the halls of Congress and
government agencies and billions of dollars are spent each year on advocacy, the groups with the most
lobbyists and money don t necessarily win (Pinkham,2010). We found that about a large portion of

The Bronze And Iron Age Essay
Classics Essay
Question: 1 What Can Homer tell us about the Bronze and Iron Age
The Bronze and Iron Ages were 2 of the main periods in Greek History and Homer can tell us a lot
about them. The Bronze Age was all about mixing copper with tin or arsenic to bronze hence it is
called the Bronze Age. The Iron Age was when the whole of the east Mediterranean was in crisis. In
central Anatolia, the collapse of the Hitties opened the gates to invaders who overran the country.
Firstly, let s talk about Homer a lot of the works that he wrote were set in the Bronze Age and Iron
Age. Homer is the first known European poet and of such importance to the Greeks. Homer became
the basis for Greek education and is still widely read in high schools and universities today. He is the
best primary source for knowing what the Greeks were thinking in the eighth century B.C. as they
fought each other and sailed across dangerous seas to found new city states in alien lands. Greeks
believe that that heroic society described by Homer flourished at a time corresponding to the 13th or
early 12th century in our chronology. Homers greatest works are the Iliad and Odyssey. The both tell
the story of heroes trying to survive their way through war and other things. Here is just an example of
Homer s poetry He cast on the fire bronze which is weariness, and tin with it and valuable gold and
silver and thereafter set forth upon its standard the great anvil, and gripped . The poems of Illiad depict

The Origins of Voodoo Essay
The Origins of Voodoo Voodoo is a religion rich in heritage and founded in faith and community. The
religion has been villainized by western culture and has been wrongly portrayed as malignant and
dangerous. The religion is not founded in any of the (known) black magics or fear popularized by
Hollywood films, but rather it is based on balance and tradition. The religion is not something that
should be encountered with inhibition or fear induced from childhood horror stories, but embraced for
its strength and history. Voodoo originated as an amalgam of African religions during the slave trade.
As slaves were shipped from Africa to the Caribbean, groups of slaves sharing a similar heritage were
broken apart to prevent any sense of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the three centuries of religious oppression, voodoo became a symbol of pride and independence for
the slaves. Any pride in a slave is, of course, regarded as a threat to the slave owner. Rumors of human
sacrifice and devil worship became prevalent in the social circles of plantation owners and slave
traders. These statements had no validity, but traveled quickly throughout the Caribbean and America.
The practitioners of voodoo embraced this fear as means to frighten their former masters and gain
some respect in a world where they were deprived of everything. Former slave owners quickly found
themselves duped into the beliefs of voodoo dolls and hexes. Of course, many slave owners simply
killed their slaves rather than be frightened by the voodoo. The practice itself is not actually
frightening or powerful in any way, but that doesn?t matter to superstitious folks like those in Salem.
No historical evidence of human sacrifice or affiliation with Satan has been discovered (Voodoo), or
likely ever will be. Primary religions involved in the African aspect of voodoo are Macumba and
Candomble of the Yoruba people of Nigeria, and several now extinct tribes from the Congos and
Cameroon. These religions lay the groundwork for the course of religious ceremonies and contain the
origins for the deities worshipped in modern voodoo. Voodoo?s principle deity, Olorun is the voodoo
equivalent to God. Though the name can be traced to the Yoruba tribe, it is unknown if

Croteau and Hoynes use this hypothetical story about Leonda in order to demonstrate to what extent
our western societies are enmeshed and saturated by the media.
The word media derives from the Latin medium, which means middle: The communication media are
the different technological processes that facilitate communication between (and are in the middle of)
the sender of a message and the receiver of a message (7). Indeed, advertising is the key source of
revenue for television, newspaper, and more recently the Internet. As a consequence, an enormous

Advantages Of Decentralization Of Government
3.1 Fiscal Decentralization and the Government Budget
According to Seda (2009), the organization of government accounts in Indone sia was originally
rooted in the Dutch budgetary system in the colonialial era, called Indische Comptabiliteitswet (ICW)
and instituted in 1867. After gaining independence, Indonesian politics began the old order era marked
by the rule of its first president, Soekarno. During this time, the new state adapted the Dutch budget
system, which was highly centralized and consisted of two sim plified groups income and expenditure,
without a system of checks and bal ances by level or part of government. The expenditures side
included routine expenditure and capital expenditure and the central government held complete
authority to allocate the budget and formulate a development program. The law Number 5 Year 1974
regulated the basic principles of local government, however, the state system in practice was still
centralized in all manners (Smoke Lewis, 1996). The second president, Soeharto, also ran the
government in a centralistic, authoritarian style, therefore the budgetary system remained both
formulated and decided upon by the central government. This only changed in the aftermath of the
financial crisis in 1999.
With the passing of Law Number ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Treisman argues that decentralization could reduce efficiency and quality of public services, especially
in the absence of a regulative assignment of responsibilities between central and regional government
(Treisman, 2000). Eckardt criticizes that the bulk of the resources re arranged during fiscal
decentralization has done little more than increase the percentage of local government expenditure
reserved for civil servant salaries (Eckardt, 2008). Prud Homme (1995) adds that decentralization
could increase disparity, reduce efficiency and may indeed increase

Dracula Tombstone Quotes
In this quote, the old man explains that the extensive cemetery and various tombstones are false.
Firstly, he points out that many of the tombstones that read Here lies the body of.. have no actual body
underneath because the individuals died at sea or in another country. In addition, every tombstone is
engraved with the cheesy sentimental sayings that are common on gravestones which portray the
people below as angelic, sacred beings. However, as the old man describes, many were far from
sacred which increases the tombstone heresy. For instance, one gravestone claims that below lay the
beloved son of his widowed mother when in reality, the mother and son hated each other. The old man
goes on with his sermon to preach that many of these people were even fake Christians and not actual

Jonathan is like the lost Russian ship. On his way to Dracula s castle, he is aware only of a vague
uneasiness in those around him but he continues on, just as the ship s captain moves forward despite
his knowledge that the crew is unsettled. Meanwhile, Dracula s presence is likened to the storm. It
starts off calm and almost peaceful, then the storm grows foggy and oppressive like when Jonathan
knows he is in danger, and then the full magnitude of the storm erupts just as Jonathan was finally
trapped forever to await his death in the castle. This is also similar to Dracula s temperament, first
gracious and polite, then concerning, and finally malicious. Just as the ship has been wavering and
losing its members, Jonathan started to lose himself; however, we do not know if he has crashed, died,
or escaped Dracula s lair. Now, Dracula has moved on first to the ship, where his evil presence

Reflection Paper On Figure Skating
The second my feet lifted off the soap caked floor, I felt different. The skin on my neck was tingling,
adrenaline was racing through my body, and my bones were engaged in a newfound excitement. My
mother was wrong. The bathroom floor is a fun place to go figure skating on soap suds. My sister,
Emily, and I began our skating journey at Kent State University, where we had been enrolled in Learn
To Skate classes for as long as we could remember. Spinning circles faster than a horse around the
kitchen table in our socks was a common occurrence. We were perpetually moving.
Thus, it should not have been a surprising event when one lazy Saturday morning, Emily and I were
sitting around playing dolls as we waited for our parents to wake up. For a six and nine year with the
energy of a small volcano, it was as boring as sitting and watching paint dry. It is my Achilles heel to
cause trouble when my mind is not stimulated, so I ventured off down the hall into the bathroom to
see if there would be anything interesting to do there. My sister grabbed my hand and pulled me into a
somewhat tangled, clumsy dance that was supposed to represent the figure skating we did at Kent. We
couldn t have looked much better than the Cleveland Browns playing football, but for us, we felt as if
we would be going to the Olympics in figure skating within the next few weeks. However, spinning
around in our socks eventually grew tiring, as well, so we looked for a way to make the bathroom
floor truly

Article Analysis 6
In today s society, the rush of supply and demand runs the ever living world that many people call
home. It runs so well that many have found ways to use this tool and create a mountain of riches that
most will never see. To understand this mountain and incorporate a successful plan, society needs to
understand how this mountain was built. It begins with a covering known as economics that leads to a
multitude root system known as microeconomics only to be fed by the morsels of supply and demand.
Though what seems simple in building this mountain, many factors exist waiting for their chance to
cause destruction. However, to understand our quest to the top, consumers must understand the clues

The Internet has also changed the way students learn. Online classes are more readily available
compared to several years ago. By means of online classes more adult students pursuing higher
education are able to make that dream become a reality. Students attending online classes offer
different viewpoints with fellow students and are able to communicate without feeling that a correct
answer needs to be given.
Of course the Internet brings lots of competition among retailers, which affects the supply conditions
within an industry. Companies overseas are able to place their products on the net, which in return
expands their market, and therefore sell to a larger area this causes force of lower prices and creates a
greater incentive for sellers to set apart their products or services.
The article emphasized on how changes in information technology can influence supply conditions in
the market with the following example, Encyclopedia Britannica. Encyclopedia Britannica at one
point was a very expensive set of research books that parents would purchase to help their child s
education, however now with the internet available with many free online encyclopedias, Britannica
has had to market their product other ways. They now have a CD ROM available, which contains
things such as video clips, audio clips, and pictures. This new Britannica format is less expensive as
the books.
The Internet offers so many different things to many different people.

Afghanistan Women Work
My charity s name is Afghanistan Women Employment Agency. We are working toward giving
women in Afghan jobs. Many Women in Afghan struggle with getting jobs because they don t all have
a good education or they never went to school. The website trustineducation said, Only 40% of
Afghan girls attend elementary school, and only one in 20 girls attend school beyond the sixth grade.
Hearing this made me feel angry on the inside because education is the most important thing to have
in your life. Even though education was a huge factor in life the women that were well educated didn t
always get a job. When women are married in Afghan they are married young. Budd MacKenzie said
on his website Almost 60% of girls are married by 16. Women activists say up to 80 percent of
marriages in poor rural areas are either forced or arranged. Putting this sentence and my knowledge on
Afghanistan together made me think why women were not employed. ... Show more content on

rights to work, the ability to choose the man she will marry, among others. However, in Afghanistan,
many times women have not been given these specific rights. They had also said that it was almost 15

Geographic Technology in Real Estate:
A Technology Assessment Report
Introduction
Real estate is defined by the Barron s Dictionary of Real Estate Terms as the land and everything more
or less attached to it. Ownership below to the center of the earth and above to the heavens. This
definition clearly conveys the geographically fixed nature of real estate and the inherent risk
associated with this characteristic that is not found in other financial assets such as stocks and bonds.
It is the identification and quantification of these risks that dominates the real estate decision.

The lender is also concerned with the strength of the particular market where a prospective borrower
is located when underwriting a loan. Markets with declining economic health can lead to a situation
where the borrower is no longer capable of paying the monthly mortgage payment. Under this
scenario, a lender will likely acquire the property through foreclosure and subsequently sell it for an
amount that is hopefully equal to the outstanding loan balance. Should the sale price be less than the
outstanding loan balance due to weakening market fundamentals, the lender again suffers a loss.
The scenarios presented above suggest that commercial lending institutions have a need for GIS as a
risk management tool during the underwriting process as well as after a loan has been originated. An
analysis of ESRI and MapInfo GIS risk management products was conducted as these two vendors
have the most advanced GIS software geared toward the business community. Care has been taken not
to include substantial discussion of each vendor s market analysis software (which is used extensively
in the mortgage underwriting process) in the commercial lending section as this will be the focus of
the site selection component of the paper.
From a pure risk management perspective, MapInfo is more advanced than ESRI. Currently, MapInfo
has three products that focus on the analysis of risk from the perspective of property insurance
providers. Although

Gas Prices and their effect on the Economy at the Jersey Shore 1 Gas Prices and their effect on the
Economy at the Jersey Shore Introduction: Gas prices have been showing an increasing trend for the
last few years. This increase has largely affected all the sectors of the economy. The segments of the
society which have taken the biggest negative impact of increasing gas prices are the households and
businesses (Davidson). This paper focuses on discussing the most significant impacts of gas prices on
the economy at the Jersey Shore in the light of recent trends and research studies. The Jersey Shore
constitutes the Atlantic Coast of the New Jersey State and its adjacent residential societies. It is one of
the most favorite locations for the citizens of New York and Pennsylvania to spend their vacations
outside their home states. The costs of living and doing business, the level of unemployment, and the
rate of inflation in Jersey Shore are comparatively lower than the U.S average which make the
business growth opportunities more attractive than those in various other states of the country (Baum).
But if the impacts of gas prices are observed, the economy at Jersey Shore is affected the same way as
other States and cities in the United States. The following section is dedicated to explain these impacts
of gas prices in detail: Major Causes for an increase in the Gas prices: The gas and oil prices impact
all the sectors of the economy; including transportation and

Personal Narrative-My Journey To Granada Theater
It was about two hours until the doors opened and I was sitting in staring at my television, appearing

a maze of pilars and various piles of rubbish as I swiftly navigated the ceiling of an upside down

spending money in case I wanted to get a t shirt or something but my Playstation s grip on me was as

Jewelry Has A Strong Case Against Jennifer Lawson
Memo Introduction
In paper, Greene s Jewelry has a strong case against Jennifer Lawson because Jennifer breached the
confidentiality agreements that she signed with Greene s Jewelry. In the agreement, it specifically
indicated that Jennifer could never disclose any information regarding Ever Gold creating process,
which is patented and owned by Greene s Jewelry. Jennifer not only stole a draft letter that contains
the details of creating Ever Gold but also took it to Greene s competitor Howell Jewelry World in
order to obtain a job offer from the company. The employment contract that Jennifer signed with
Howell is a certain evidence of her unjust enrichment. Regarding Jennifer Lawson s claim that she
encountered wrongful termination at Greene s, it is simply a misinterpretation of Greene s legitimate
reduction in force. The company no longer had a need for any junior executive secretaries. The
downsizing was unfortunately but legal.
Facts and Laws
Jennifer alleges that she was terminated because of her pregnancy. She neglects the fact that Greene s
discharged her because her position, junior executive secretary, is redundant to the company. It is
transparently that Jennifer is a member of protected class and was dismissed. Yet Greene s did not
violate The Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA) under Title VII. According to Title VII 42 U.S.C. §

Euripides And The Tragical History Of Doctor Faustus, By...
From childhood, all individuals are taught that, whether it be at the hands of one s parents, the
government, or even some form of divine intervention (like karma, or god), there is an ultimately
inescapable judgment that awaits everyone who transgresses against that which is right or just. Take
from the cookie jar before dinner? No TV for a week. Break the law by stealing from a store, or
worse? Spend days, or years, incarcerated. Fail to abide by a number of seemingly arbitrary moral
codes? Spend all of eternity being tormented in a realm of fire after you die. But despite how deeply
the concept of crime and punishment is ingrained in each culture of each era since the dawn of
humankind, there remains an insatiable desire to rebel against the standards that are upheld by society
as right, whether it be for personal worldly gain, out of academic curiosity, or righteous indignation.
As a people, humanity has long expressed rebellion of thought through the arts, exploring the taboos
of society, and asking questions about why we live as we do, and what the implications may be, not
just for the world, but for our souls. Two such pieces of art are the classic plays Medea, by Euripides,
and The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, by Christopher Marlowe. Though these two great works
couldn t be more different in setting or thematic subject matter (and naturally so, since they re
separated by over 1,000 years), they utilize similar theatrical tropes to explore the concept of

Analysis Of Van Eyck s Arnolfini Wedding
Comparison Visual Analysis In the previous writings I wrote about Hendrick van der Burch, An
Officer and a Standing Woman . I wrote on how well he composed the figures, the use of color and
light throughout the image, and the amount of symbolism. I ended the paper saying I will compare this
painting to another, and I chose Van Eyck s Arnolfini Wedding. The contrast and the similarities are
great between the two the artist. First of all they re both oil painters and from Northern Europe,
specifically Netherlands. Although they re from the same location, the both lived in two different time
eras being 200 years apart from another. Starting with the composition of the figures of Hendrick s
painting we see three human figures and an animal. The male figure is sitting down on a chair
slouched drinking white wine, while wearing his officer uniform. The other two female figures appear
to look like servants; one standing next to the officer, and the other in the background in another room
sewing clothes. To compare this to Van Eyck s painting this is similar. In the foreground they both
have a man and woman together, both being the main focus of the painting. The use of space in both
of the images are quite beautiful. In one image we have three figures and an animal, and in the other
one it two figures and an animal. Hendrick added another room to his image showing that it s a big
room, while Van Eyck did something that was pure marvelous. He added a small mirror to the back

Maslow Hierarchy Of Needs Analysis
Maslow s (1943, 1954) hierarchy of needs is a motivational theory in psychology comprising a five
tier model of human needs, often depicted as hierarchical levels within a pyramid.
Maslow stated that people are motivated to achieve certain needs and that some needs take precedence
over others. Our most basic need is for physical survival, and this will be the first thing that motivates
our behaviour. Once that level is fulfilled the next level up is what motivates us, and so on. maslow s
hierarchy of needs five stage pyramide
This five stage model can be divided into deficiency needs and growth needs. The first four levels are
often referred to as deficiency needs (D needs), and the top level is known as growth or being needs
(B needs).

Maslow posited that human needs are arranged in a hierarchy:
It is quite true that man lives by bread alone †when there is no bread. But what happens to man’s
desires when there is plenty of bread and when his belly is chronically filled?
At once other (and â€oehigherâ€) needs emerge and these, rather than physiological hungers,
dominate the organism. And when these in turn are satisfied, again new (and still â€oehigherâ€) needs
emerge and so on. This is what we mean by saying that the basic human needs are organized into a
hierarchy of relative prepotency (Maslow, 1943, p. 375).
The expanded hierarchy of needs:
It is important to note that Maslow s (1943, 1954) five stage model has been expanded to include
cognitive and aesthetic needs (Maslow, 1970a) and later transcendence needs (Maslow, 1970b).
Changes to the original five stage model are highlighted and include a seven stage model and a eight
stage model, both developed during the 1960 s and

Overfilling with mountainous regions and breathtaking scenery, Nepal has yet to recover from

country, world wide organizations researched the regions of Nepal, only to find that water pollution

The breaking point of Scobie starting to feel overly compassionate about Louise seems to be the death
of their daughter Catherine; ever since, he is not able to love anybody else, only through pity. It is very
likely that he once truly loved Louise but throughout the book, his only feeling towards her is pity
love, a term used by Greene himself, and the exceptional feeling of responsibility for her happiness.
Louise said, I ve known it for years. You don t love me. ... That s your conscience, she said, your sense
of duty. You ve never loved anyone since Catherine died (Greene 57). At one point in the novel, he is
feeling truly at peace when he believes to have made given Louise what she wanted to leave. I ve
prayed for peace and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is evident he feels it his duty to make his wife happy, yet not out of love, but out of pity. His feeling
of pity then becomes extended to another woman, with whom he begins an adulterous affair. As
opposed to most literary characters, Scobie s becoming an adulterer is not brought about by sexuality
or a love of beauty. But rather it is the result of a sense of pity and responsibility that he feels towards
the helpless victims (Keerthi 124). Scobie himself does not seem to be an overtly sexual character; he
blames this on his age but it seems as though pity has replaced any other feelings he might have ever
been capable of feeling towards another human being. During an intimate moment with Helen, he
notes: He was more than thirty years older: his body in this climate had lost the sense of lust: he
watched her with sadness and affection and enormous pity (Greene 151 2). This feeling of pity loves ,
that he feels for both Louise and Helen equally, makes him certain that either of them would be
doomed to eternal loneliness without him, hence he continues to provide them both with this pity love,
which simultaneously makes him remain in

El paradigma dominante :En este modelo , el problema del subdesarrollo se debe a la falta de
información. De acuerdo con la teoría de la modernización que se basa este paradigma , la cultura es

Toyotomi Hideyoshi Research Paper
Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a daimyo under Emperor Ōgimachi had unified all of Japan in a period of peace.
However, he was hungry for more territory. Therefore, he devised a plan to conquer the Ming Dynasty
of China. He had thousands of troops trained and gathered weapons and supplies. Toyotomi Hideyoshi
sent his ambassadors to request the Joseon court, a Korean dynasty, to allow his troops to move
through the Korean Peninsula to China. After the Joseon court denied his request twice, King Seonjo,
the leader of the Joseon court, became concerned about Hideyoshi s plans so he sent out ambassadors
to get more information. Each ambassador came back with different reports so King Seonjo decided to
believe the ambassador that claimed Japan would not attack. This caused King Seonjo to make no
military preparations. General Hideyoshi launched two unsuccessful attacks on Korea. One in 1592
and the other in 1596. The goal of the attacks was to conquer the Korean Peninsula and then go on to
conquer China. Hideyoshi expected to overthrow Korea and move on quickly, however the invasions
did not go as planned. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
General Toyotomi Hideyoshi organized an army of 225,000 men, mostly samurai, and had Japanese
workers build a huge naval base on western Kyushu, just across the Tsushima Strait from Korea. This
naval base would carry this army across the strait to attack Korea at Busan, their southeast corner.
Busan was captured in just a few hours because of Korea s failure to prepare. The few surviving
Korean soldiers sent messengers up to King Seonjo in Seoul, and tried to regroup. Hideyoshi and his
army, armed with muskets, against Korea s army who had bows and swords, quickly conquered Seoul
and moved on

Changing Perspectives Of My Life
Changing Perspectives As I took my first step outside the door the warm midnight air greeted me like
an old friend. It was a pleasant contrast to the cold stagnant air on the plane. We had just flown 16
hours with only one layover and my legs had become achy and my neck stiff. hold on tight to your
bags! Bro. Powers, our youth leader, called out as we walked across the tarmac to go inside.
Apparently all of the eager gentlemen attempting to take our bags for us were not doing so out of the
kindness of their heart. It was common for men to forcefully offer to help you take your bags to your
car and then insist on a tip. All but one of our group heeded the warning and held on to their bags. One
crafty little man managed to pry a bag ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My life changed so much for the better after that night. In a life full of bad decisions, it only took one
good decision to turn it all around. It s kind of funny to think about looking back on it all. That one
single moment changed everything. A year later I found myself presented with the unique opportunity
to join a youth group going over to work at an orphanage in Africa. The evangelist who preached the
service when I got saved had started a mission in Africa some years ago preaching the gospel and
bringing food and other supplies where needed. Over the years that mission had expanded to building
an orphanage and starting churches in remote areas and even starting a Bible school to teach them
about God and to be preachers in their own villages. Our hotel was located Moshi, a small but
somewhat thriving city near the Kilimanjaro National Park. Despite being dry and very dusty there
were cafes and restaurants and even a few electronics stores. Not exactly what I was expecting I ll
admit. We might have the misconception that all of Africa is uncivilized and everyone lives in huts
and wears rags for clothes and while this might be true for some areas it certainly is not true for most.
The streets were littered with vendors selling anything from shoes to art made with banana leaves and
business men catching the bus to work. After an early breakfast at the hotel we piled into our van

Discrimination Can Affect Anyone Anywhere Essay
Discrimination can affect anyone anywhere. Major focus points of discrimination are based off race,
gender, or sexuality. However, there is a form of discrimination that is often invisible to the public eye
and did not even have a proper name until 1981 (FWD Forward). This form of discrimination affects
many Americans everyday. This type of discrimination is known as ableism. Ableism is defined as the
discrimination of disabled people in favor of able bodied people. Ableism is not as noticed or as
mainstream as other forms of discrimination. Fifty four million Americans currently have some form
of disability, yet the discrimination towards the disabled community is still out of focus in many
aspects (HRFnd). While the United States of America has come a long with shaping civil rights for the
disabled people, the country still has a long way to go. Issues that disabled people struggle with today
include, unemployment, social isolation, and stereotypes that demean the disabled population. These
are all issues that should have been addressed and resolved back when laws such as the Americans
with Disabilities Act passed in the United States back in 1990 by the George H. Bush Administration.
However, these issues have not been resolved and ableism is still a huge issue in the United States that
needs to be solved. The disabled community is still fighting battles that should have ended a long time
ago. With more consideration though, society could put an end to

Technology changes rapidly in the cyber age, my hometown Shanghai is also a rapidly developing
metropolitan and one of the best sources of high tech products in China. The advantageous
environment evoked my affection in science subjects and always curious to seek new knowledge.
Back to the days when I was in junior high school and the personal computers were still the
mysterious machines in most people s mind. I was lucky enough to be introduced into the edge of that
binary world with a professional instructor my uncle. At that time he was on vacation visiting us. After
he discussed how wonderful the computers are with my father, then he started working on a computer
right away from scratch and instructed us. In addition to my great affection in science and high tech, I
was already attracted to this wonderful machine although back then I was only an adherent being
around them. That event shaped my academic path, and now I choice to major in computer science
because my persistence affection about computers and passions understand more deeply in this field.
Maybe one day in future, I can master some remarkable and helpful techniques in information

Essay about How World Poverty is Changing the Human Race
Poverty is an epidemic which has created a huge dent to human race. More than 50% of the world

The income differentials are widening across the globe. What are we doing to reduce this widening?
What are we doing to eliminate this menace of poverty? Why can t we produce enough food for
everyone? Why can t everyone have a proper shelter? Is it the greed in us, the cause for it? Why can t
we help each other and work together to eradicate poverty? Poverty is a menace to humanity. The

Literacy, Natural resources, climate, government systems, laws, regulations, culture, greed and many
other reasons cause poverty. More than half the world population lives on less than $2.50 a day. At
least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. The poorest 40% of the world s population
accounts for 5% of global income while the richest 20% accounts for 75% of world income. Poverty
affects every nation for a reason. There is no silver bullet to eliminate poverty. No one solution work
in every country.
There is no one solution to eradicate poverty. Governments should create laws to help bring people
above poverty. Rich countries with abundant natural resources should help out poor countries. Benefit
systems should be established in all countries. People should unite globally to eliminate this menace.
Currently, most of the work is being done by NGOs and non profit organizations. Instead,
governments, people from every walk of life, political leaders and organizations, every human should
unite and help each other to eliminate poverty. The unity of the people and desire to help each other is
the only real solution that could eliminate poverty forever.
Realistically people can help out in many ways. Local organizations, schools, and clubs can hold
fundraisers. Also, people can have clothing donation drives. Also, people can volunteer in soup
kitchens, and try not to waste

Mullelr and Glial Cells Essay
This experiment was done to determine the main purpose Muller cells, a type of glial cell, and its cell
regions have in the body. The Muller cell s endfoot was of particular interest, and scientists wanted to
observe the affects the endfoot has on conductance and resistance, as well as its overall purpose. The
results from this experiment could then provide us with a more generalized view of the purpose that
other glial cells, especially astrocytes, have in the brain. It was hypothesized that if most of the Muller
cell s conductance was located in the endfoot, then the resistance in the endfoot would also vary
significantly compared to the rest of the cell and this would have huge impacts on how potassium ions
removed from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The measurement of resistance in the Muller cell with the endfoot still intact was much lower than
when the resistance in the cell after the endfoot had been removed. Additionally, when researchers cut
a part of the cell above the endfoot, leaving the endfoot untouched, the cell resistance did increase
slightly, but not by very much. These observations helped to prove that the endfoot, not other parts of
the cell, contributes to most of the cell s resistance, and therefore conductance. When measuring
impedance in the cell, the endfoot impedance increased when penetrated, while other parts of the cell
showed no real changes. When KCl solution was added into the cell and the amount of potassium ion
efflux was recorded along the cell, it was found that about the same amount of potassium efflux
occurred all along the cell membrane, with the endfoot having a much greater efflux of potassium ions
than anywhere else on the Muller cell. All in all, it was determined that the Muller endfoot is not only
where the highest conductance and lowest membrane resistance in the cell is locate, but also where the
most potassium channels are located. Therefore, the endfoot greatly controls how much potassium ion
movement. This goes for Muller

  • 2. Near Field Communication ( Nfc ) NFC Report Name Date Near field communication (NFC) Near field communication (NFC) is a set of protocols that allow communication between two electronic devices. Most commonly this technology is used for communication between portable devices like smartphones. Even though it is a contact less system of communication, it requires that the devices are within 4 cm or 1.57 inch distance from each other (Carter Faulkner, 2015). Basically, this technology relies on creating a low speed connection between the devices which has a very simple setting up procedure. It has found application in a vast variety of applications, ranging from contact less payment from credit and debit cards as well as the smartphone based payment techniques, to the social networking applications as well, where media and contact information can be shared wirelessly between devices. NFC technology has also found application for identity related documents and keycards. Encoding and Encryptions The technology that allows contactless transactions, because of its simplicity and effectiveness has become an integral part of people s daily usage. However, there are many concerns regarding security that people have expressed about it, most of which are quite valid. For example, one of the common application of NFC technology is its ability to make purchases through different credit and debit card accounts, very simply through one s smartphone. • 4. The Bronze And Iron Age Essay Classics Essay Question: 1 What Can Homer tell us about the Bronze and Iron Age The Bronze and Iron Ages were 2 of the main periods in Greek History and Homer can tell us a lot about them. The Bronze Age was all about mixing copper with tin or arsenic to bronze hence it is called the Bronze Age. The Iron Age was when the whole of the east Mediterranean was in crisis. In central Anatolia, the collapse of the Hitties opened the gates to invaders who overran the country. Firstly, let s talk about Homer a lot of the works that he wrote were set in the Bronze Age and Iron Age. Homer is the first known European poet and of such importance to the Greeks. Homer became the basis for Greek education and is still widely read in high schools and universities today. He is the best primary source for knowing what the Greeks were thinking in the eighth century B.C. as they fought each other and sailed across dangerous seas to found new city states in alien lands. Greeks believe that that heroic society described by Homer flourished at a time corresponding to the 13th or early 12th century in our chronology. Homers greatest works are the Iliad and Odyssey. The both tell the story of heroes trying to survive their way through war and other things. Here is just an example of Homer s poetry He cast on the fire bronze which is weariness, and tin with it and valuable gold and silver and thereafter set forth upon its standard the great anvil, and gripped . The poems of Illiad depict the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Origins of Voodoo Essay The Origins of Voodoo Voodoo is a religion rich in heritage and founded in faith and community. The religion has been villainized by western culture and has been wrongly portrayed as malignant and dangerous. The religion is not founded in any of the (known) black magics or fear popularized by Hollywood films, but rather it is based on balance and tradition. The religion is not something that should be encountered with inhibition or fear induced from childhood horror stories, but embraced for its strength and history. Voodoo originated as an amalgam of African religions during the slave trade. As slaves were shipped from Africa to the Caribbean, groups of slaves sharing a similar heritage were broken apart to prevent any sense of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the three centuries of religious oppression, voodoo became a symbol of pride and independence for the slaves. Any pride in a slave is, of course, regarded as a threat to the slave owner. Rumors of human sacrifice and devil worship became prevalent in the social circles of plantation owners and slave traders. These statements had no validity, but traveled quickly throughout the Caribbean and America. The practitioners of voodoo embraced this fear as means to frighten their former masters and gain some respect in a world where they were deprived of everything. Former slave owners quickly found themselves duped into the beliefs of voodoo dolls and hexes. Of course, many slave owners simply killed their slaves rather than be frightened by the voodoo. The practice itself is not actually frightening or powerful in any way, but that doesn?t matter to superstitious folks like those in Salem. No historical evidence of human sacrifice or affiliation with Satan has been discovered (Voodoo), or likely ever will be. Primary religions involved in the African aspect of voodoo are Macumba and Candomble of the Yoruba people of Nigeria, and several now extinct tribes from the Congos and Cameroon. These religions lay the groundwork for the course of religious ceremonies and contain the origins for the deities worshipped in modern voodoo. Voodoo?s principle deity, Olorun is the voodoo equivalent to God. Though the name can be traced to the Yoruba tribe, it is unknown if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The word media derives from the Latin medium, which means middle: The communication media are the different technological processes that facilitate communication between (and are in the middle of) the sender of a message and the receiver of a message (7). • 7. Advantages Of Decentralization Of Government 3.1 Fiscal Decentralization and the Government Budget According to Seda (2009), the organization of government accounts in Indone sia was originally rooted in the Dutch budgetary system in the colonialial era, called Indische Comptabiliteitswet (ICW) and instituted in 1867. After gaining independence, Indonesian politics began the old order era marked by the rule of its first president, Soekarno. During this time, the new state adapted the Dutch budget system, which was highly centralized and consisted of two sim plified groups income and expenditure, without a system of checks and bal ances by level or part of government. The expenditures side included routine expenditure and capital expenditure and the central government held complete authority to allocate the budget and formulate a development program. The law Number 5 Year 1974 regulated the basic principles of local government, however, the state system in practice was still centralized in all manners (Smoke Lewis, 1996). The second president, Soeharto, also ran the government in a centralistic, authoritarian style, therefore the budgetary system remained both formulated and decided upon by the central government. This only changed in the aftermath of the financial crisis in 1999. With the passing of Law Number ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly, he points out that many of the tombstones that read Here lies the body of.. have no actual body underneath because the individuals died at sea or in another country. In addition, every tombstone is engraved with the cheesy sentimental sayings that are common on gravestones which portray the people below as angelic, sacred beings. However, as the old man describes, many were far from sacred which increases the tombstone heresy. For instance, one gravestone claims that below lay the beloved son of his widowed mother when in reality, the mother and son hated each other. On his way to Dracula s castle, he is aware only of a vague uneasiness in those around him but he continues on, just as the ship s captain moves forward despite his knowledge that the crew is unsettled. It starts off calm and almost peaceful, then the storm grows foggy and oppressive like when Jonathan knows he is in danger, and then the full magnitude of the storm erupts just as Jonathan was finally trapped forever to await his death in the castle. This is also similar to Dracula s temperament, first gracious and polite, then concerning, and finally malicious. Just as the ship has been wavering and losing its members, Jonathan started to lose himself; however, we do not know if he has crashed, died, or escaped Dracula s lair. • 9. Reflection Paper On Figure Skating The second my feet lifted off the soap caked floor, I felt different. The skin on my neck was tingling, adrenaline was racing through my body, and my bones were engaged in a newfound excitement. My mother was wrong. The bathroom floor is a fun place to go figure skating on soap suds. My sister, Emily, and I began our skating journey at Kent State University, where we had been enrolled in Learn To Skate classes for as long as we could remember. Spinning circles faster than a horse around the kitchen table in our socks was a common occurrence. We were perpetually moving. Thus, it should not have been a surprising event when one lazy Saturday morning, Emily and I were sitting around playing dolls as we waited for our parents to wake up. For a six and nine year with the energy of a small volcano, it was as boring as sitting and watching paint dry. It is my Achilles heel to cause trouble when my mind is not stimulated, so I ventured off down the hall into the bathroom to see if there would be anything interesting to do there. My sister grabbed my hand and pulled me into a somewhat tangled, clumsy dance that was supposed to represent the figure skating we did at Kent. We couldn t have looked much better than the Cleveland Browns playing football, but for us, we felt as if we would be going to the Olympics in figure skating within the next few weeks. However, spinning around in our socks eventually grew tiring, as well, so we looked for a way to make the bathroom floor truly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This definition clearly conveys the geographically fixed nature of real estate and the inherent risk associated with this characteristic that is not found in other financial assets such as stocks and bonds. The lender is also concerned with the strength of the particular market where a prospective borrower is located when underwriting a loan. Markets with declining economic health can lead to a situation where the borrower is no longer capable of paying the monthly mortgage payment. Under this scenario, a lender will likely acquire the property through foreclosure and subsequently sell it for an amount that is hopefully equal to the outstanding loan balance. Should the sale price be less than the outstanding loan balance due to weakening market fundamentals, the lender again suffers a loss. The scenarios presented above suggest that commercial lending institutions have a need for GIS as a risk management tool during the underwriting process as well as after a loan has been originated. An analysis of ESRI and MapInfo GIS risk management products was conducted as these two vendors have the most advanced GIS software geared toward the business community. Care has been taken not to include substantial discussion of each vendor s market analysis software (which is used extensively in the mortgage underwriting process) in the commercial lending section as this will be the focus of the site selection component of the paper. From a pure risk management perspective, MapInfo is more advanced than ESRI. Currently, MapInfo has three products that focus on the analysis of risk from the perspective of property insurance providers. Although ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gas Prices and their effect on the Economy at the Jersey Shore 1 Gas Prices and their effect on the Economy at the Jersey Shore Introduction: Gas prices have been showing an increasing trend for the last few years. This increase has largely affected all the sectors of the economy. The segments of the society which have taken the biggest negative impact of increasing gas prices are the households and businesses (Davidson). This paper focuses on discussing the most significant impacts of gas prices on the economy at the Jersey Shore in the light of recent trends and research studies. The Jersey Shore constitutes the Atlantic Coast of the New Jersey State and its adjacent residential societies. It is one of the most favorite locations for the citizens of New York and Pennsylvania to spend their vacations outside their home states. The costs of living and doing business, the level of unemployment, and the rate of inflation in Jersey Shore are comparatively lower than the U.S average which make the business growth opportunities more attractive than those in various other states of the country (Baum). But if the impacts of gas prices are observed, the economy at Jersey Shore is affected the same way as other States and cities in the United States. The following section is dedicated to explain these impacts of gas prices in detail: Major Causes for an increase in the Gas prices: The gas and oil prices impact all the sectors of the economy; including transportation and ... Jennifer not only stole a draft letter that contains the details of creating Ever Gold but also took it to Greene s competitor Howell Jewelry World in order to obtain a job offer from the company. • 18. Euripides And The Tragical History Of Doctor Faustus, By... From childhood, all individuals are taught that, whether it be at the hands of one s parents, the government, or even some form of divine intervention (like karma, or god), there is an ultimately inescapable judgment that awaits everyone who transgresses against that which is right or just. Take from the cookie jar before dinner? No TV for a week. Break the law by stealing from a store, or worse? Spend days, or years, incarcerated. Fail to abide by a number of seemingly arbitrary moral codes? Spend all of eternity being tormented in a realm of fire after you die. But despite how deeply the concept of crime and punishment is ingrained in each culture of each era since the dawn of humankind, there remains an insatiable desire to rebel against the standards that are upheld by society as right, whether it be for personal worldly gain, out of academic curiosity, or righteous indignation. As a people, humanity has long expressed rebellion of thought through the arts, exploring the taboos of society, and asking questions about why we live as we do, and what the implications may be, not just for the world, but for our souls. Two such pieces of art are the classic plays Medea, by Euripides, and The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, by Christopher Marlowe. Though these two great works couldn t be more different in setting or thematic subject matter (and naturally so, since they re separated by over 1,000 years), they utilize similar theatrical tropes to explore the concept of ... • 19. Analysis Of Van Eyck s Arnolfini Wedding Comparison Visual Analysis In the previous writings I wrote about Hendrick van der Burch, An Officer and a Standing Woman . I wrote on how well he composed the figures, the use of color and light throughout the image, and the amount of symbolism. I ended the paper saying I will compare this painting to another, and I chose Van Eyck s Arnolfini Wedding. The contrast and the similarities are great between the two the artist. First of all they re both oil painters and from Northern Europe, specifically Netherlands. Although they re from the same location, the both lived in two different time eras being 200 years apart from another. Starting with the composition of the figures of Hendrick s painting we see three human figures and an animal. The male figure is sitting down on a chair slouched drinking white wine, while wearing his officer uniform. The other two female figures appear to look like servants; one standing next to the officer, and the other in the background in another room sewing clothes. To compare this to Van Eyck s painting this is similar. In the foreground they both have a man and woman together, both being the main focus of the painting. The use of space in both of the images are quite beautiful. In one image we have three figures and an animal, and in the other one it two figures and an animal. Hendrick added another room to his image showing that it s a big room, while Van Eyck did something that was pure marvelous. He added a small mirror to the back wall ... Instead of focusing on all potential buyers out in the market, which is called mass marketing, they began to implement the use of target marketing, which is where companies focus on specific group of consumers that have the highest potential for the company to make a profit. In target marketing, there are four steps that the company must undertake, to design a consumer driven marketing technique. Maslow Hierarchy Of Needs Analysis Maslow s (1943, 1954) hierarchy of needs is a motivational theory in psychology comprising a five tier model of human needs, often depicted as hierarchical levels within a pyramid. Maslow stated that people are motivated to achieve certain needs and that some needs take precedence over others. Our most basic need is for physical survival, and this will be the first thing that motivates our behaviour. Once that level is fulfilled the next level up is what motivates us, and so on. maslow s hierarchy of needs five stage pyramide This five stage model can be divided into deficiency needs and growth needs. The first four levels are often referred to as deficiency needs (D needs), and the top level is known as growth or being needs (B needs). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But what happens to man’s desires when there is plenty of bread and when his belly is chronically filled? At once other (and â€oehigherâ€) needs emerge and these, rather than physiological hungers, dominate the organism. And when these in turn are satisfied, again new (and still â€oehigherâ€) needs emerge and so on. This is what we mean by saying that the basic human needs are organized into a hierarchy of relative prepotency (Maslow, 1943, p. 375). The expanded hierarchy of needs: It is important to note that Maslow s (1943, 1954) five stage model has been expanded to include cognitive and aesthetic needs (Maslow, 1970a) and later transcendence needs (Maslow, 1970b). Like a snowball rolling down a hill, problems in Nepal only grow more significant as the years go by. Taking notice of the extreme environmental problems in the country, world wide organizations researched the regions of Nepal, only to find that water pollution was an emerging, life threatening issue. Immediately, many international organizations partnered with the Nepalese government in hopes of improving the water status of the country by using the Rainwater Harvesting Jar, an efficient solution to the water problem. Nepal is a small country located between India and China with a growing population of over thirty million people. While the country is often famous for its beautiful landscapes and tourist attraction, Mount Everest, it is actually suffering with severe water pollution. Clean water is eventually becoming more limited and difficult to access, and the population of many communities is rapidly growing. Many rural communities live in remote areas far from water supplies while in urban areas, an increase of population, caused in part by people moving because of the decade long internal conflict, is putting increasing strain on limited water and sanitation facilities ( WaterAid s Approach ). It is evident he feels it his duty to make his wife happy, yet not out of love, but out of pity. His feeling of pity then becomes extended to another woman, with whom he begins an adulterous affair. As opposed to most literary characters, Scobie s becoming an adulterer is not brought about by sexuality or a love of beauty. But rather it is the result of a sense of pity and responsibility that he feels towards the helpless victims (Keerthi 124). Scobie himself does not seem to be an overtly sexual character; he blames this on his age but it seems as though pity has replaced any other feelings he might have ever been capable of feeling towards another human being. During an intimate moment with Helen, he notes: He was more than thirty years older: his body in this climate had lost the sense of lust: he watched her with sadness and affection and enormous pity (Greene 151 2). This form of discrimination affects many Americans everyday. This type of discrimination is known as ableism. Ableism is defined as the discrimination of disabled people in favor of able bodied people. Ableism is not as noticed or as mainstream as other forms of discrimination. Fifty four million Americans currently have some form of disability, yet the discrimination towards the disabled community is still out of focus in many aspects (HRFnd). Issues that disabled people struggle with today include, unemployment, social isolation, and stereotypes that demean the disabled population. These are all issues that should have been addressed and resolved back when laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act passed in the United States back in 1990 by the George H. The Muller cell s endfoot was of particular interest, and scientists wanted to observe the affects the endfoot has on conductance and resistance, as well as its overall purpose. The results from this experiment could then provide us with a more generalized view of the purpose that other glial cells, especially astrocytes, have in the brain. The measurement of resistance in the Muller cell with the endfoot still intact was much lower than when the resistance in the cell after the endfoot had been removed. Additionally, when researchers cut a part of the cell above the endfoot, leaving the endfoot untouched, the cell resistance did increase slightly, but not by very much. These observations helped to prove that the endfoot, not other parts of the cell, contributes to most of the cell s resistance, and therefore conductance. When measuring impedance in the cell, the endfoot impedance increased when penetrated, while other parts of the cell showed no real changes. When KCl solution was added into the cell and the amount of potassium ion efflux was recorded along the cell, it was found that about the same amount of potassium efflux occurred all along the cell membrane, with the endfoot having a much greater efflux of potassium ions than anywhere else on the Muller cell. All in all, it was determined that the Muller endfoot is not only where the highest conductance and lowest membrane resistance in the cell is locate, but also where the most potassium channels are located. Therefore, the endfoot greatly controls how much potassium ion movement. This goes for Muller ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
