2. Importance Of Domino In Vietnam
The United States understood that it was a major deal to do anything they could to stop the spread of
communism. Their involvement in Vietnam expressed how important it was for them to contain
communism.
In order to contain communism they used the process of the domino theory. The domino theory held
that a communist victory in one nation would quickly lead to a chain reaction of communist takeovers
in nearby states. In Southeast Asia, the United States government used the domino theory to justify its
support of a non communist in South Vietnam against the communist government of North Vietnam.
This theory brought more involvement of the United States because they began to send more and more
troops, weapons, and United States resources to

On the subject of the Guardians, education is one of high importance. The Guardians are meant to be
brought up in such a way that the City can depend on them to not only being highly intelligent but also
fierce fighters. Plato breaks down their education into two categories : gymnastics and music. These
two categories serve to enhance both the body and mind to the highest level. However, it is important
to note that Plato planned to filter and censor the majority of what was given to the Guardians in the
mind category. This filter included removing any and all teachings of Greek mythology, as well as
only allowing the Guardians to study what was deemed beautiful and just by Plato and his attendants.

4. Causes Of The Protestant Reformation
The early church had all the power over everything in most of Europe. It was the wealthiest thing in
all the land and with that came other big concepts. The church had power over the people, over other
people s money and even other people s lives. However, during the time period of 1300 to 1789 the
church s power declined by a significant amount. A number of things happened that decreased the
church s power during the time period of 1300 to 1789, but the Protestant reformation and the
Scientific Revolution had weakened the role of the church the most. The Protestant Reformation had
decreased the role of the church in Europe by decreasing its power by a large margin. Martin Luther

Therefor Darwin s theory had proven such an important story of the church incorrect and people
began to follow science more than religion, thus weakening the role of the church in Europe.
Astronomy had weakened the role of the church by showing that humans are not are not praised by
God as we thought. People used to believe that Earth was the center of the universe and everything
evolved around us in perfect circles showing that we are important because we are God s creation. The
church agreed with this and condemned any other ideas Both Protestant and Catholic religious leaders
condemned the work because it was contrary to traditional teachings (Watts). Nicolaus Copernicus had
founded the heliocentric system where everything had evolved around the sun, not the earth and that it
was not in perfect circles. The heliocentric solar system had weakened the church by showing that
God did not make his creation the great center of the universe and not everything in space is perfect.
The biggest reason on how science decreases the role of the church is by proof. Science isn t
something we just believe in like religion, it s something we need to prove. The Scientific Revolution
decreased the role of the church by showing proof that somethings in the church are false.

Technology based sharing economy is the community based online services that sharing the access to
goods and services based on peer to peer mode (Hamari, Sjöklint Ukkonen, 2015).
The widespread of mobile tablets and advanced payment ways motivate the advent of the technology
based sharing economy like Airbnb and Uber. The sharing economy nowadays is just a reengineered
consumption model consists of old processes and digital technologies (Sundararajan, 2013). In other
words, digital technologies are the powerful enablers for the rising of sharing economy.
Sharing economy opens a new door for the whole world, however, there remains some obstinate
problems and one significant issue is the fuzzy regulations. One news reported that NSW ... Show

The fuzzy regulation s promoting the development of sharing economy not only brings impressive
benefits but also causes serious problems.
1.Impact on society
Merits
1)Create further sustainable society. The fuzzy regulations provide a suitable growing environment for
sharing economy performers such as Airbnb and Uber. The application of Uber takes full advantage of
cars not only relieve the congestion but also cuts emissions, which benefits the sustainability of
society.
2)Boost economy for some cities. One study found that 14% of Airbnb customer would not visit a city
without Airbnb (Heinrichs, 2013). As Airbnb rental is cheaper than hotel services, people tend to
travel with Airbnb, which also promote the tourism in these cities.
Demerits
1)Hidden danger caused by fuzzy rules. There remain no clear rules to regulate the peer to peer
business, which will cause great danger. If a car accident occurs to Uber driver, who should take the
responsibility, the driver, the passenger, or Uber whereas Uber may just claim that it just is a
communication platform for car pooling service. Therefore, clear and corresponding rules should be
applied to avoid such flaws.
2)Uncertain service quality. As the emerging of Airbnb and Uber, there are blurred boundaries
between personal and professional services (Malhotra Alstyne, 2014). To what extent, the service
quality is affected. For instance, a noisy

United States. In Kenya, the press released horror stories of what the Mau Mau rebels did to colonists
to destroy support for them among both the British back home, and potential rebels in Kenya.
International news reported Kikuyu attacks on settlers as fanatical, degraded, bestial, and satanic
(Robbins 295). Such press reports denied the Mau Mau rebels their own voice in the international
conversation and turned potential sources of support against them.
However, just as the press has the power to deny support to indigenous resistance, so it can lend

However, all responses from governments and capitalists have not been violent. Native Americans
have ongoing, nonviolent struggles with the United States government over land, money, education,
healthcare, and legal rights. Maxus has regular dealings with ONHAE that are nonviolent, yet they are
a form of resistance because ONHAE is in itself a resistance.
Those that are protested against may not understand the protest; Robbins writes that the British could
think of no reason that the Mau Mau would rebel, and so they blamed the Mau Mau oath (Robbins
297). When two cultures collide, it is reasonable to assume that one (or both) will not understand the
other; there is often little attempt to understand the indigenous culture, as shown by missionary
attempts to educate indigenous people away from their traditional cultures. The inability to understand
each other, or perhaps the lack of an attempt to, may also be a leading cause for the violent reactions
that foreign parties have had to indigenous resistance.
The Huaorani are such a small group that open rebellion like the Mau Mau s would be totally illogical.
Instead, they have tried going the legal route, and, in doing so, have attempted to create a cross
cultural understanding by educating the leaders of ONHAE to interact with outsiders. ONHAE is an
organization of resistance, yet it works semi cooperatively with those that it was organized to resist.

Since 1957, when the Crown was first exported to the United States, Toyota has expanded the scope of
automobile sales across the entire globe. For over fifty years, Toyota vehicles have found their way to
over 170 countries and regions throughout the world. As their exports have continued to develop so
has the localization of their production bases, in line with a policy of producing vehicles where the
demand exists . Now there are 51 bases in 26 different countries and regions. In addition, there are
design and R D bases in nine locations overseas, showing that from development and design to
production, as well as sales and service, Toyota has now achieved consistent globalization and
localization.
Among the hurdles that this globalization of production has to overcome, the most important is quality
assurance, which requires that no matter where Toyota vehicles are made, they must have the same
high level of quality. Toyota doesn t put a label on vehicles which says Made in The USA or Made in
Japan , but instead opts for one label for all:

The two religions that are located in Japan are Shinto and Buddhism. The two religions in japan are
extraordinarily unalike, while Shintoism believes that every living thing including rocks and sounds
contain some type of god in them, and Buddhism is concerned with the soul and afterlife that happens
in Buddhism. The religions differ very much from each other with little similarities. Buddhism and
Shintoism differ in one using shrines while the other has temples, the two both have religious
ceremonies, and one believes in the afterlife while the other does not. Shinto was originated in Japan
and formed in five hundred BCE. Shinto the way of the Kami is the religion of Japan that was first
used in the 6th century. Shinto has no founder, no sacred texts and no formalized system. Shinto is
uniquely Japanese, and believes in a god named Kami, the Shinto believe that Kami exists both as
spiritual beings but as well as in nature. The Kami is not like Western Religions, because the Kami is
not perceived as an all powerful god, but as a creative force. Buddhism was formed in the 5th century
B.C.E. in northern India. The religion was started by a man named Siddhartha Gautama, who is also

12. William R. Leach s Land Of Desire
In our human culture, desire has always been prevalent in our lives, as humans always strive for that
longing or want for something. William R. Leach takes the time to explain the type of desire that
changed America s views on consumption in his novel Land of Desire. In Land of Desire, Leach
conveys his main point that during the Gilded Age and the Progressive Era, American society
significantly transformed on a consumer basis. Leach believes that the Gilded Age and the Progressive
Era gave birth to consumer capitalism. Consumer capitalism puts the advantage in the sellers hands
rather than putting the advantage in the consumers hands, which has many negative affects for the
people of America. Throughout the book, Leach has a negative view of consumer capitalism, but
makes the point that the consumer capitalism we know today started in the early 1900s, and he
discusses why it happened in the first place. Leach answers his two fold argument of when and why
consumer capitalism came to be by explaining the events that led up to the rise of this new consumer
ideology, and explaining the people s desire for goods. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

13. The Lovesong Of J Alfred Prufrock And Preludes
The portrayal of alienation and existential nihilism inherent in modern life pervades T.S Eliot s poems,
therefore, directly resonating with Jeanette Winterson s perspective of the modernist writer. By
exploring the isolation of men and the futility of life in a modernised society through The Love Song
of J Alfred Prufrock (1915) and Preludes (1915), T.S Eliot questions the uncertainty of the
Modernistic lifestyle. Both these poems which are derived from T.S Eliot s historical and cultural
context in Post war Europe, present aloofness and nihilism as manifestations of the superficiality and
pretensions of the modern urban environment. T.S Eliot s poetry has transformed the world of

In the poem, Prufrock believes that he has endured a monotonous life and constantly expresses his
discontent and restlessness. Prufrock emphasises on his discontent of what he perceived as the
emptiness and meaningless of modernistic life. During the WW1 era where society was saturated by
disillusionment and discontent, life was seen as unpromising and meaningless. This directly correlates
to the attitude of the poem, as Prufrock constantly relays the desolateness of his life. He asserts his
overall boredom and perceives life as futile when he states I have measured my life with coffee spoons
. Through T.S Eliot s use of metaphor, Eliot refers to the mundane aspects of Prufrock s life as the
most significant moments of his life, which confronts responders with the mendacity of their lives and
reflects Eliot s perspective. Here, Eliot s nihilistic perspective of life directly relates to Jeanette
Winterson s critical perspective, stating that he was such a sensitive soul that he was easily
overwhelmed by impressions, by situations, by events, by people...he suffered continually. Winterson
implicates that Eliot was a highly sensitive individual as such the experiences he faced personally and
those that others faced deeply affect him, therefore accounting for his nihilistic view of life and
humanity itself. Furthermore, T.S Eliot utilises repetition through, For I have known them all already,
known them all to reinforce Prufrock s realisation of the meaningless life he leads. The repetition of
known them all , infers that Prufrock s life is absent of intrinsic value and completely worthless as he
has no more to offer. Prufrock surrenders to the superficial, barren aspects of life and society,
perceiving human existence as futile when he states he Shall wear the bottoms of my trousers

15. The Cost Of Gas Prices
Oil is one of the most valued products in the world which means oil can be very inelastic. It is
something that people need in order for them to keep their cars going and for many other reasons in
this world. When the cost of gas drops down, the usual consumer s response is positive, however, that
might not be the case for some producers in the market. The lower cost of gas means that people will
be able to save money which is exactly what any consumers would want in the market. Specific
consumers who benefit the most from cheap oil are working and middle class people who spend an
unbalanced amount of their money on gas to fill up their cars and to heat their homes. As a result of
cheap oil, the amount of money that people will save can now go to expenses like buying a new car,
purchasing new electronics, traveling elsewhere, or even as small as going out to a nice dinner (p.34).
All these results will cause a hotel boom, a restaurant boom, and labor shortages that will increase
wages (p.36). However, with the positive side of cheap gas comes the negative side as well. The effect
of cheap gas on producers is not the same as the effect that it has on consumers in the market. The
decrease in oil prices are pressuring gas producers responsible for the domestic energy boom. Also,
when prices of barrel drops significantly, the activity in the shale basins is not very profitable which
means drilling of oil has to come to a stop (p.35). This will cause an unemployment of people who

Introduction:
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar levels over
an extended period of time. With symptoms including increased urination, thirst, and hunger, diabetes
is mainly due to loss of insulin production in the pancreas or lack of response to insulin produced. As
of 2015, nearly 415 million people worldwide have diabetes with the three main types being Type 1,
Type 2, and gestational. 90% of all diabetes cases are Type 2 (T2D) which is characterized by insulin
resistance, high blood sugar, and lack of insulin. Also known as noninsulin dependent diabetes
mellitus (NIDDM), this disease is primary caused by obesity and lack of exercise in genetically
predisposed people and affects in nearly 29 million people in the US alone, making it the 7th leading
cause of death in the country (American Diabetes Association 2016).
The goal of a diabetes treatment plan is lowering HbA1c to below 7.0%, maintaining good glycemic
control. Glycated hemoglobin or HbA1c is a blood sugar test that reflects the average plasma glucose
concentration over the past three months. The first and best course of treatment is always lifestyle
changes that includes exercise, diet modification, and weight control. Unfortunately, when this
management plan fails or is insufficient, the next option is to take medications to lower HbA1c. Five

How to Reduce Teenage Pregnancy in America A nightmare can strike, even when the eyes of it s
victims are wide open. It can be unexpected, terrifying, a nightmare to see the dreaded two lines on the
test especially as a teenager. Even if teenagers are old enough to decide whether or not they want to
engage in sexual intercourse, the rate of teenage pregnancy should be reduced as much as possible.
Teenage pregnancy is not only expensive, but also puts the lives of the mother and child in danger.
Teenage pregnancy is not a new concept, having been around since the dawn of humanity. Most
humans, at a certain point, will hit a stage in life called puberty. During this time, ... Show more

Not only that, but teens who are in a less favorable economic situation, or are on welfare, are more
likely to become pregnant than girls who are not. (About Teen Pregnancy). Those statistics are not
very promising, especially when babies are being born to girls on welfare or governmental assistance.
(Teen Birth Rates) When a baby is born, it is a priority that said baby is healthy and happy. It is also
important that the mother takes care of herself and the baby before it arrives, including taking
vitamins, going to checkups, and eating healthy. It s not easy, but teenage pregnancy is much more
risky than adult pregnancy. Pregnant teens and their babies are at a higher risk than adult mothers and
their babies, risks including high blood pressure, preeclampsia, premature birth, postpartum
depression, and low birth weights (Teenage Pregnancy: Medical). However, this is not always the
case. ...not every baby born to a teen mother will have health problems but the risks are definitely
higher. (Beirne, Dr.) Medical risks such as the ones listed can be very dangerous, to both the mother
and the child. Children born to teenage mothers are not only at risk for medical reasons, but for
educational reasons. These children are, more often than not, usually less ready for school than
children born to older mothers, lacking childhood development skills such as social,

24. Besom Research Paper
The definition of a Witches Besom is a handmade broomstick (typically 14 feet long) made from
twigs and herbs and used to purify, cleanse, and protect. The Besom is traditionally crafted using ash
wood for the handle, birch twigs for the bristles, and willow bark for bindings, it can however be
crafted using anything of the individuals choosing. Early Celtic pagans associated the broom with
Faeries. This was most likely due to it s relationship to the wood and a common belief in forest sprites.
There does in fact exist stories which tell of a Witch entering a forest and asking the Faeries to guide
her on her way to find the perfect tree where she can collect a staff for a broom. It was believed that
enlisting the help of the magikal folk would in turn ensure the enchantment of the broom once it has

How you choose to store your Besom when not in use is completely your choice however, it should
always be stood standing straight up (bristles up) as a sign of respect. One way that the Besom is
connected to fertility involves An ancient ritual where witches would take their besoms out into the
fields at planting time, riding them around and jumping into the air in an effort to show the crops how
tall they should grow. This is also the origin of the stereotypical Halloween image of a witch riding a
broom over a field of crops. Up until recently I was completely uneducated about what a witch s
Besom was, in fact I had never heard the word used at all. Since then I have done my research on the
term and even created one of my own. In my own personal practice I now find my Besom to be a very
important item amongst my ritual supplies. In fact I am saddened by the pure fact that I practiced my
craft for so long without it. It is very important for me to cleanse and purify my sacred space before
performing a ritual of any kind, and I use my Besom to do so. The most common misconception
regarding this item is the stereotype that witches use

The overall goal of these counseling sessions was to assess the quality and accuracy of pharmacist s
patient counseling of herbal and supplemental products. The initial pilot study was of small scale and
20 out of 34 pharmacists completed the PC G/ PC HDS centered counseling sessions with their
pharmacist. The pharmacists recruited for these initial sessions were selected based on their having a
variety of experience with counseling patients on the use of herbal and supplemental products. The
subsequent study, which was larger in scale was conducted using pharmacists that had professional
experience in counseling patients and knowledge of herbal and supplemental products. 179 out of 330
patients completed the validation large scale study (Lin et al., 2010).
Parameters were set for the pharmacists, to guide the patient counseling interactions. Patient
interviews were designed as both study specific knowledge, attitude, behavior (KAB) surveys as well
as Likert type surveys. Specific counseling dialogue was expected to be centered around three main
categories of patient interviewing, as set by APhA and other literature. These categories included
fostering relationships/ information gathering, assessment and plan/follow up (Lin et al. , 2010).
Ultimately, there were eleven items that fell under the three main categories that guided the
pharmacists further in their line of questioning.
Overall, the study determined that not only did the parameters of questioning

left her for Bess Houser who Lawren ended up marrying in 1834. Beatrice s family threatened Lawren
to charge him with bigamy which is the act of entering a marriage while you are still legally in one.

27. William Shakespeare s The Taming Of The Shrew Essay
Shakespeare wrote his plays without a thought that they would ever not be performed on stage. Many
of Shakespeare s plays have been performed since his death 400 years ago. And with time comes
advances, as many of Shakespeare s play have been adapted from text to film. Some films take
Shakespeare s original plot and twist it to be more modern, while others stick with the classic. In
Franco Zeffirelli s 1968 film version of The Taming of the Shrew, he recreates Shakespeare s loved
play. Although Zeffirelli stays close to Shakespeare s original text, he does omit and add lines and
scenes that weren t originally in the play. Zeffirelli also adds body language and stage directions
where they aren t in the play. These directorial decisions change the way the romance looks between
Katherina and Petruccio in the text. The relationship between the two characters in Zeffirelli s film is
attempted to be seen as more consensual than in the text. Shakespeare s play The Taming of the Shrew
begins with an Induction that isn t in Zeffirelli s film. The Induction in the film starts with a beggar
named Christopher Sly who is very drunk and hasn t paid his bill. He gets kicked out of the tavern and
picked up by a Lord who decides to play a trick on Sly. The trick that the Lord plays on Sly is to have
him believe he has been sick for so long that he has become a Lord himself. The Lord decides to treat
Sly to a play, which is The Taming of the Shrew. Shakespeare decides to use this as a form

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Introduction
San Bernardino City Unified School District houses one of the largest populations for students with
moderate to severe disabilities within the Inland Empire. Over the past decade San Bernardino City
Unified School District (SBCUSD) has sustained an influx of students who qualify for a moderate to
severe special day classroom (SDC) setting and special education services. Effectively educating
youth with moderate to severe disabilities is not a simplex task, as it requires multifaceted skillsets
involving various special education professionals. Developing and executing a service delivery model
that targets student s individual needs, while simultaneously supporting students in strides towards life
long goals is crucial. Carmack Elementary is one of fifty two elementary schools within SBCUSD that
only provides educational services to students with moderate to severe disabilities grades kindergarten
through sixth. The community surrounding Carmack Elementary has been deemed high poverty,
indicating a vast majority of students who attend Carmack are presumed as low income status. Lastly,
a vast majority of students who attend Carmack Elementary qualify for the free and reduced meal

30. The Effects Of Violent Video Games On Aggressive Behavior
The Effects of Violent Video Games on Aggressive Behavior: Potential Sex Differences study that was
conducted by Bruce D. Bartholow, of University of Missouri Columbia, and Craig A. Anderson, of
Iowa State University, examined how playing a violent video game affected levels of aggression
displayed in a laboratory setting. Recently, violent behavior in children and teenagers has gained more
and more attention as video games have become more popular. The study mentions that, in contrast to
Eastern cultures, Western culture believes that people are responsible for their own individual
behaviors. In modern times, after school shootings, reports indicate or lead toward that the shooters
were viewed as loners or outsiders within the student body.
With evidence has piled up in regard to children being exposed to violent media through television or
video games, political figures and policy makes have started to examine the influences that this media
plays in promoting aggressive behavior. Researchers for this study tried to understand if video games
effect males and females in similar ways and how that related to the theory of violence creating
violence. As stated previously, the theory being tested is that if violent media content increases the
likelihood for aggressive behavior, and if that varies depending on the gender of the person in
question.
Researchers for this study hypothesized that participants who played the violent video game would
later display more aggression

The overwhelming majority of Mexicans today speak Spanish. According to the CIA, Spanish is

32. Analysis Of A Quiet Passion By Terence Davies
I think if you re at the least an English major or minor in college, as I was, you re bound to come
across the poetry of Emily Dickinson in a class or two. Her work is profound and terribly moving, as
words flow out in such a way that you can feel the depths of feeling stretching through a nervous
system that may have only just been wracked by fits and that the questioning of what GOD is or what
LIFE and DEATH are have no choice but to be sussed out. There are also love poems too, or at least
poems sorting out what those feelings might amount to, or what it means to be at the foot of the stairs
looking at someone and not being able to, or feeling like, or whatever, going down. There s a lot of the
pain, but also the joy and reverie, in connection or those possibilities in her work.
The question then for Terence Davies is: what about the woman? There is some joy here, or even
small chirpings of humor in that reserved 19th century comedy of manners way at times in the first
two thirds... and then the last third is among the saddest things I ve seen unfold in a very long time.
What makes A Quiet Passion convincing is that Davies and his crew and cast commit to it all, and his
style is one of patience with his compositions and movements of the frame let s take a little time
moving across faces, for example, listening to a piece of music, or let s make sure we don t too much
when we can see the sum total of emotions an actor is expressing in listening (or, as a character may
