   A disk is like a file cabinet : it has “folders” that
    contain groups of files

   These folders, called directories help you organize
    your files

   We can store hundreds or even thousands of files on
    a storage device hard disk or compact disk

   When you format a floppy or hard disk, MS-DOS
    creates a directory where all other files and
    directories will be stored

   This is called the root directory
