This document outlines the Design Factory Project at Hämeenlinna University of Applied Sciences. It consists of two parts: design thinking and a design project. The goal is for students to solve problems in interdisciplinary teams using design thinking, developing soft skills. Design thinking focuses on feasibility, desirability, and viability of solutions, and how solutions can contribute to UN sustainable development goals. The project is informed by research on problem-based learning, rapid product development, and co-creation pedagogy. Basic design tools and readings are also referenced.
