In order to assess this impact, it was necessary to add email and voice services to the Profile
Configuration and the server named FTP located in the Washington DC subnet. The graphs below
illustrate the impact of background load on point to point throughput and point to point utilization for
the back_load and no_back_load scenarios. The data in these charts is reflective of using the
predefined Email(heavy) application profile metric. Figure 3 Email Point to Point Throughput
(bits/sec) Figure 4 Email Pont to Point Utilization
It s clear that background load has a significant impact on link throughput and utilization. The
simulation without background loading remains steady and relatively flat with throughput at roughly
2Kbps and link utilization at under 5%. When background load is added, we see a marked upward
trend in utilization and throughput early in the simulation that keeps with our scheme of incrementally
ramping up background load from 19,200 to 32,000 during the first 8 minutes, followed by a less
pronounced continued upward trend over the remainder of the simulation. Link throughput begins to
stabilize at just over 30kbps late in the simulation, while link utilization approaches 50%.
Interestingly, we see a sharp drop in email download response time during the first seconds of both
scenarios even as background load is ramping up at the same time. However, both scenarios flatten out
to a more consistent level as the simulation

How Cybercrime Is A Crime

The Undivided Declaration Of Rowland High School
In Rowland High School, October 6, 2014.
The Undivided Declaration of Rowland High School,
When in the course of human events, it becomes imperative to shake off the bands of repeated name
callings and falsely given identities which have been connected for so long, and to assume that the
playing field is once again even, giving your undivided attention and respect to the opinions of the
unheard and abandoned as they state why they have decided to stand up against the bullying and how
they plan to write how to isolate themselves from bullying altogether.
We hold these truths to be axiomatic: that all students, no matter their background, ethnicity, or rank,
are created equal in status and in identity; no student is higher than the other. Each student is equipped
with secure and unalienable Rights; that among these rights are Respect, Rightful Identity, and
Freedom of Speech. We also believe that rules are formed to protect these certain rights and that the
power of these rules comes from the power of the students; whenever any part of the rule fails to
protect these rights, it is the right of the students to change it and to form a new rule that follows such
principles which organizes its powers to end in Security and Happiness. Fair judgment, as a matter of
fact, will ordain to say that long prevailing consequences should not be changed because of trivial,
temporary, or fleeting reasons; and, in fact, history proves that students are more likely to suffer the
bullying,

The Morning in College Essay
The Morning
Tuesday morning is the busiest time in my week. As I wake up thirty minutes before the class begins,
time always forces me to prepare for the class quickly. Actually I want to eat breakfast with a cup of
coffee but I do not have time to do so. I regret that I stayed up late last night.
Tuesday is a day that I have to wake up early because I am taking a class at nine thirty. At nine o?
clock, the cell phone, clock radio, and TV wake me up at once. On the radio, NPR news is on the air
but I turn it off quickly. From the TV, ESPN broadcasts the results of yesterday?s sports. Even though
I like sports, I am so sleepy that I cannot pay attention to result and switch the TV set off. Finally, the

I put it in the coffee filter carefully. When I pour water into the coffee maker, I spill it on the table.
However, I leave it as it is. Then I go to bathroom and wash my face and teeth. After I look in the
mirror, I realize that I have bad hair day as ever. But I do not care. I will put on a cap. I need to wear
contact lenses. This is an inconvenient thing in my morning. I really envy people who do not have to
wear lenses or glasses. I can not do anything without them. I go back my room again, and then I
change clothes from pajama. As I return to the kitchen, the good smell of coffee fills it. Now, the
coffee is ready to be drunk. When I go out to smoke with a cup of coffee, I see that a few students
leave their rooms for classes. I am always curious when the other students wake up. I am sure that I
get up much later than students who take class at nine thirty do. I need to change my lifestyle and
wake up earlier eight thirty at the latest. During smoking, this is the only time that I can relax in the
morning. I find two fliers on the wall. One of the two reads ?SNOW REMOVAL? in large font so we
have to move cars from somewhere to the other place. I do not have a car so I do not read further. On
the other one, a dancing man and woman are drawn. During about five minutes, another couple of
students head to school. I throw a cigarette butt in the ?smoking oasis?. As textbooks are packed on
my back, I am ready to attend class. My roommates do not lock the

Victorian Ghost Stories Nearly Always Encompass Family
Victorian Ghost Stories nearly always encompass family life in some way or another. One reason for
this may be to emphasize how abnormal a ghostly figure or hauntings really are within the story and
get readers thinking, what would happen if that was happening to them? Making the stories feel more
realistic to a Victorian readership. Family life within the era was held as one of the most important
aspects of their day to day lives, therefore it is only natural for the theme of family to be present
throughout many of the periods ghost stories and other genres. The Victorians also created the modern
Christmas, where families come together on Christmas Eve to read or re tell popular Ghost stories of
the time, many magazines which were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Newton also states that
The familiar unveils its association with the unfamiliar. M.R. James argues that the rooting of a story
in the common world of habits and timetables would aid the process of sympathetic identification
between the reader and the haunted one. This rapport was one more of the genre s correlations, and the
key to its power to frighten. The Old Nurse s Story does very well to stick to the genre s structure, and
is written to a high standard, that makes the readers feel fear, suspense and hope, which are all key to
grasping the reader s attention immersing them into the story and gaining the most out of it. Gaskell
does this by building the plot up to an ultimate climax, where the characters fully interact with the
supernatural beings, this build up is created by using the character s new heightened relationship and a
new unfamiliar setting, leaving the reader unnerved and waiting for something to happen. Charles
Dickens s also stated that The Old Nurse s Story was a very fine ghost story indeed. Nobly told, and
wonderfully managed. Dickens was a highly popular Victorian author during his own time and within
the modern literary world, his opinion on Gaskell s first ghost story shows just how much of a success
it was. The themes of the short story allow for all of the right elements to come through, the strongest
of these themes is the relationship Hester and Miss Rosamond share, although she is left

Carol King Musical Analysis
The play that I went to see was Beautiful: The Carol King Musical. I attended opening night of this
play on Tuesday, February 21st of this year. This musical is about the true and remarkable story of her
uprising career. Carol started off as a song writer when she was only a teen writing with her future
husband, Gerry Goffin. The play is about an extraordinary person who battles everyday issues, but
ultimately overcomes the odds and adversities thrown at her. With her talent in music and singing;
Carol King went on to have one of the most successful solo acts in music history. King s story is truly
inspiring and this play attributes to her legacy not just as an artist but also a person. The play s genre is
musical theatre because singing and dancing are essential parts of the play. The director s purpose of
this play was to tell in great detail the life of American artist Carol King.
The play was performed at the lovely Peace Center. The Peace Center, which is a great fine arts
theatre in downtown Greenville. Has a stage that is known as a Proscenium stage with large curtains
from floor to ceiling. The sets varied from an office setting with a piano that was where Carol and her
husband would write music in the couple s home. The interesting thing about the set was that it all was
centered on and around her piano. The props were mainly the piano which could be seen in every
scene. In the office the props also consisted of a desk and some other different items you

Use of Anabolic Steroids in the U.S.
Our Nations Little Secret Within every gym and athletic practice across the United States there are
secrets. These secrets are kept by public gyms, membership health clubs and even high school sports.
This secret is killing our youth and disrupting the sportsmanship of not only the United States, but also
on an international level. What I am referring to is the use of anabolic steroids. This epidemic is
spreading through our country like a wildfire. It is going unnoticed and misunderstood. Even our
government has not found the money the man power or the time to deal with this killer. It can be
bought wherever pleasure or illicit drugs can be found. The people who push these drugs are usually
the people teenagers look up to. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women have basically the same reaction to the drug as men do. After long periods of steroid use, a
common reaction is the loss of the individuals hair along with the deepening of their voice,
permanently. Along with these reactions, body hair and facial hair also start to grow and darken.
According to Dr. Yealis, a professor of health and human development at Pennsylvania State
University, and a leading expert in steroid use, these drugs can change a women into a man in not very
big doses at all (Mongale 12). This is a very scary thought. Both males and females stack steroids.
This means that they use multiple steroids at a time. The common perception among users is if you
use a variety, then you take less of each one. They already take ten to a hundred times the
recommended amount. In researching this topic, I found that many users do not seem to see
themselves as addicted. According to a recent poll of 49 weight lifters, 28 would be considered
addicted. Another study done by Robert J. Dimfell, Donald A. Malone and John Lombardo showed of
163 weight lifters who worked out more than 6 hours a day, there were 88 abstainers, 31 current users,
and 44 past users (Bower 11). They reported that 18% of the past users and 13% of the current users
reported that they had a dependency. Malon commented We re not sure if current users are more likely
to deny these problems (Brower 12). The three researchers had a list of

The Impact Of The Industrial Revolution On Imperialism
As Europeans colonized much of the world, their empires became more and more fueled by the
Industrial Revolution. The developments of the Industrial Revolution that most impacted Imperialism
were the Maxim Gun, Modern Manufacturing, and Child Labour. The industrial revolution began in
the textile industry and during the course of history people have changed the manufacturing process
dramatically. Instead of items being produced by hand, the owners of the facilities created ways to
have machines produce the items ( thomasnet. ). Manufacturing change in production.

this, Britain built factories. More people were employed, and that led to child labour, because children

Feedback and Evaluation for a Federal Program to Give...
The Government as far back as the 1950s backed subsidized and unsubsidized student loans.
However, over the years the cost of a college education has increased and has become a financial
burden for some families as their debts began to rise. The U. S. Department of Education amended the
Title IV of the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 1965. Student loans are a form of financial aid
that a student can receive while in college and consist of federal loans and private loans.
The Internal and External feedback mechanisms A high number of students are graduating from

The financial markets begin to show signs of non payments of credit on student loans, which was
alarming to policy makers who eventually intervened. The feedback received from this brought on the
amendment of the Title IV of the Higher Education Act. Students were struggling to make ends meet
with the worry of repaying their student loans as they entered into the workforce, they found that they
were unable to purchase homes, prepare for retirement, nor have the option to start their own small
businesses and so forth. Suggestions were made to the task force for policymakers to implement
repayment options that would be affordable to students, and have private lenders to restructure loans.
Another suggestion was to repair a student s credit if and when they repay their loan in full. Federal
student loans can be issued directly to the student or to the parents. However, if that loan is made to
the student, the student is not required to make any payments if enrolled as a part time student. Should
the student drop below the part time status, there is a six month grace period to rekindle your status
and the payments will be deferred, otherwise there is no grace period. Any loans made to the parents
can have large loan amount, however, payments will have to start immediately. Private loans can be

Gilbert Lewis felt that he deserved to be in the Manhattan project and win the Nobel Prize. In protest
for not winning the Nobel Prize he resigned from many prestigious positions. After all, he had been
nominated 35 times, but he never won the Nobel Prize. This was due to personal reasons, but also
because he didn t go deeply in one field, instead he did a bit everywhere. He didn t make any ground
breaking discovery. Lewis was also not selected for the Manhattan Project and wasn t recognized as
many of his colleagues at Berkeley were. He didn t have the cooperation that was vital for a team that

Indian Response To The Us Rebalancing Strategy
The Indian Response to the US Rebalancing Strategy
India has been considered as a crucial factor in the US Rebalancing Strategy. On a visit to India,
former US Secretary of Defence Leon Panetta referred to India as the lynchpin of the US Strategy in
Asia. Yet another US government report stated that, The United States is also investing in a long term
strategic partnership with India to support its ability to serve as a regional economic anchor and
provider of security in the broader Indian Ocean region. With the US pushing for closer ties with the
country, India on the other hand has been quite observant of the changing geopolitical scenario in its
surrounding and has taken a pacifist approach so far. India s former Defence Minister A. K Antony, in
response to Panetta, highlighted the necessity to enhance the multilateral security architecture in the
Asia Pacific, but at the same time also emphasised that the necessary steps should be taken at a pace
comfortable to all the countries concerned .
In order to further understand India s stance on the issue, it would be interesting to observe and
analyze the following table in which four foreign policy approaches were estimated with respect to the
Indian response within the country towards the US Rebalancing Strategy. They are laid in the table
below along with various other factors that were taken into consideration :

Sophists
Sophists have been perpetuated in the history of philosophy primarily due to their most fierce critic
Plato and his Gorgias, where Socrates brings profound accusations against the practice of sophists and
declares notoriously rhetoric to be a part of flattery (κολακεία, 463c). This paper focuses on the
responses to sophists practices by Plato and Aristotle, analysing on the one hand criticism made on
their practice, on the other, however, trying to evaluate in which respect the responses of the two
philosophers differ. Thus, taking the polemic of sophists as a starting point, the paper moves forward
into discussing the fundamental differences in the treatment of rhetoric as perceived by Plato and
Aristotle. For this reason (and in order ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Altogether it seems that Aristotle s basic criticism towards sophists is quite similar to Plato s in his
Phaedrus. Namely, the main focus of Aristotle s censure is circling around the claim that previous
theoreticians of rhetoric put emphasis on something quite corollary in nature and secondary to the
importance of rhetoric. So, according to Aristotle, the contemporary rhetoric handbooks discuss
mainly two aspects of a speech: how many different parts a speech has to have (1.1.9, 3.13.1), and
how to arise the emotions of the audience (1.1.4). In both cases, however, rhetoricians are in fact
discussing something non essential to rhetoric and thus engage themselves with matters outside the
subject (1.1.3 ff). Also, because of focusing on these two aspects only, Aristotle argues that the former
practitioners have inclined to the forensic branch of oratory (1.1.12), since there the effect is easier to
achieve, due to the disinterest of the dicasts (1.1.10). Yet, at times it seems as if Aristotle s real
criticism for such rhetoric is targeted on the state and its laws rather than to the contemporary sophists
(1.1.4 ff).
Although Aristotle considers the two previously mentioned occupations of the contemporary
rhetorician not entirely out of

Farm Crisis of the 1980s Farmers in the 1980 s were faced with many challenges due to the farm
crisis. Farmers in the Midwest were the most widely affected in the beginning but quickly rippled to
other areas. Farmers were in desperate need of a way out of the devastation. Many people who relied
on their farm and on agriculture struggled in the 1980 s. WWII was the fire that lit the Farm Crisis of
the 1980 s. WWII brought forth many new advances in all aspects of agriculture. New farm

farmers and rural bankers were especially hurt. Farmers had to borrow money for everything in the
1980 s. They had to borrow it for land, seed, equipment, housing and everyday life. The US farm debt
quickly doubled when everyone started borrowing money for everything. Young farmers, who were

who had to borrow money and were in debt were usually the first to go out of business. In 1935, the

Power Dance Research Paper
During my senior year of high school, I realized the power dance has to expose oneself to a different
culture. Previously, I had trained in mainly ballet, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical within a studio. I got
thrown into a high school world cultures dance class. The title of the class was kept vague so that the
teacher is free to teach any type of cultural dance they feel qualified to teach. The teacher taught the
class about Umfundalai, a contemporary African dance technique. The movements were contemporary
forms of traditional dances across Africa. Along with learning the movements, I got to learn about the
symbolism, history, and origins of each movement. I loved learning about a culture barely taught in
schools through the language I love and understand: dance. Since that experience my drive to travel,
dance, and learn about the world has increased monumentally. I am also inspired by the stories of my
amazing dance teachers experiences traveling while doing what they love. I believe their experiences
have helped develop their amazing personalities and perspectives which is helpful when creating art.

My goal is to inform the class about Benedict Spinoza s Ethics: Part One.
My central idea is how Spinoza s idea of God brings a new perspective on existence to those who take
the time to listen.
Spinoza s Ethics and You
I. Introduction
A. What is the truth behind the universe?
B. Many people have asked themselves this question over the course of history.
C. Today, however, I am going to focus in on one individual and explore his work around this subject:
Benedict de Spinoza.
D. Spinoza was a Dutch philosopher of the 17th century, and was considered a rationalist, or someone

2. As a result, substances are also self caused, as no two substances can exist at the same time, nor can
a substance create another substance.
When something is created by something else, the original object s knowledge would depend and be
determined by its creator, and would thus be unable to be a substance, as it is now dependent.
3. Substances are characterized by their attributes, or what one s intellect perceives as a way of
defining that substance s essence
Attributes are not outright accurate ways of defining a substance, but instead act as way to
conceptualize a substance in many different ways.
4. Now that we can conceptualize a substance, we can now attempt to understand Spinoza s idea that
there is only one substance. (TRANSITION)
B. Spinoza argues that there can only be one substance.
1. We do not generally perceive substances, but we instead perceive modes.
Modes are things that depend upon something else for its existence, in this case a substance.
All things that exist within the universe are modes.
This means that you and I are modes of one substance, reflecting some of its infinite attributes.
2. The reason why we cannot perceive the one substance is because that one substance has and infinite
number of attributes, which express an infinite essence, and thus becomes the encompassing
everything. (air quotes)
3. The everything we perceive are the modes of the one substance, and thus shows how there

a girl s triumphant journey towards being a woman in order to be freed from oppression. Her
subsequent acts that made her prevail against her antagonists were well justified and represented as
perfect examples of poetic justice. Two Kinds reflected a somewhat different representation of
womanhood wherein rebelliousness is attached. Jing Mei s mother was not hostile and only wanted
what was best for her daughter, nothing more. The only mistake on the mother s part is that she has
overdone it (going to the extent where Jig Mei starts to feel unhappy about herself) and neglected the
possible uniqueness of her daughter. This is something common at status quo where some families

Life has a cycle and death is inevitable. We all die. How we die and the choice of the body s disposal
is what sets up apart. It is easy to think the American way of death is the same for everyone but that s
far from the truth. There are many ways to create a meaningful send off after one s death. This include
traditional burials, cremation and a growing practice, green burials.
For the past 150 years, American funerals have consisted of traditional burial practices which include
interment of the entire body with the use of embalming in impenetrable wood or metal caskets with
concrete vaults and liners (Harris, p.13). It involves the pumping of embalming fluid, mainly

Critical Evaluation Of Two Theories Of Leadership
Critical Evaluation of Two Theories of Leadership
Introduction
At the present time, leadership, especially effective leadership plays an increasingly significant role in
the organization, which can be regarded as the process of affecting activities of an organized group in
its efforts forward target setting and target achievement (Daft, 2011). From this perspective,
organizations in every walk of life are in pursuit of effective leadership in order to ensure the
competitive advantage (Schriesheim et al., 1999). Although there is no unique definition about
effective leadership, precisely, in light of Lussier Achua (2007), there are two basic requirement on
effective leadership: for one thing, effective leadership will ensure that reach the target of the group
can be reached effectively; for another, leadership can impose positive influence on the group
members, and motivate them to Maximum their potentials.
To ensure leadership effective, several leadership theories are put forward and are adopted by different
organizations. Some widely accepted theories include Trait Approach, Style Approach, Situational
Approach, New Leadership Approach and Post charismatic Post transformational (Western, 2013).
Beyond doubt, they have their pros and cons, and they could play their role to guarantee the
effectiveness of leadership as long as they are applied in an appropriate condition.

as provide cohesion between banks across the United States. (Hepburn, 399) This knight in shining

1913 helped to establish banks as a united force working for the people instead of independent
agencies working against each other. By providing a flexible amount of currency, banks did not have
to hoard their money in fear of a bank run. Because of this, there was no competitive edge to see who
could keep the most currency on hand and a more expansionary economy was possible.
The evolution of the Federal Reserve did not begin on December 23, 1913 with the passage of the
Federal Reserve Act. Rather, it began with the Banking Panic of 1907, the most severe of the four
national banking panics that had occurred in the precious thirty four years.
In response to this panic, a committee was established to find the flaws of the current banking system.
This committee, the National Monetary Commission, found there were two main flaws dominating the

The Devices Charles Dickens Uses to Engage the Interest of...

It s essential for a novel s opening to engage the reader s interest, if the opening isn t fun or exciting
they won t bother reading on. At first Great Expectations was published in magazines and in sets of
two to three chapters, he mostly ended each in series because of this with a cliff hanger, so that the
readers would be eager to find out what happened next ?

Dickens uses an interesting metaphor, The distant savage lair from which the wind was rushing, was
the sea which makes us; think about a ferocious beast attacking young Pip. Here Dickens is showing
us how creative and imaginative a young child s imagination is, in this case it s Pip and how he thinks
the wind is a beast trying to get him, which will also makes the reader concerned too. As chapter 2
opened we saw an interesting contrast, as Pip runs in to his home we expect it to be a safety place, we
were wrong, instead it is much more dangerous than the wilderness and the marshes because the
tickler (a wax ended piece of cane, worn smooth by collision) was being applied to him by his sister.
His sister, applied Tickler to its further investigation and then, she concluded by throwing me . The
modern readers would find this very disturbing but in Dickens time hitting children was expected to
put them right , they used the proverb in the Bible,
Spare the rod and spoil the child and this was something Victorian parents believed in and used to
discipline there children.
Charles Dickens also uses a double strand narrative for effect, this means that he sometimes uses the
younger Pip s view of the world while at other times he uses the older Pip s view in a more distanced
and ironical stance. The older Pip once looks back and realises something which he didn t realise
before and puts some irony into it,

How Bingeing Became the New College Sport
Drinking on college campuses has become a huge problem. For example, in the 10th century only old
people used to drink, but now students drink more than their parents. Students see their parents
drinking, so they may think that drinking has no effect on health that anyone can drink so why can t
the students drink? Therefore, college students have been drinking alcohol since the 14th century.
Barrett Seaman s article How Bingeing Became the New College Sport, appearing in TIME magazine
on August 29, 2005, explains how binge drinking is affecting college students. It also suggests that
lowering the drinking age might help solve the problem of binge drinking. This article has much

Due to that we will have more students hospitalized. When students are hospitalized or worst yet, die
from alcohol poisoning, which happens about 300 times each year college presidents tend to react by
declaring their campuses dry or shutting down fraternity houses. This quote states that there are
already many students hospitalized or dead. This happened when the drinking age is 21. I think if the
drinking age were lowered, the number of students hospitalized might go up or even double. I think
that the college presidents should make strict laws around campus that would help stop students from
drinking. If colleges were to have a security check in every dorm, every day that will lower the
number of hospitalizations. I know that there would be liquor at student apartments, but it would still
help lower the number of deaths. I disagree on lowering the drinking age because students may drink
more than their limits and go overboard. I visited where the legal drinking age is 18: Montreal s
McGill University, which enrolls about 2,000 American undergraduates a year. Many, when they first
arrive, go overboard, exploiting their ability to drink legally. But by midterms, when McGill s
demanding academic standards must be met, the vast majority have put drinking into its practical
place among their priorities, writes Seaman, explaining that the drinking age should be lowered, so

Introduction of Malaysia Bond Market
INTRODUCTION
1.1 WHAT IS BOND?
In finance, a bond is an instrument of indebtedness of the bond issuer to the holders. It is a debt
security, under which the issuer owes the holders a debt and, depending on the terms of the bond, is
obliged to pay them interest (the coupon) and/or to repay the principal at a later date, termed the
maturity. Interest is usually payable at fixed intervals (semi annual, annual, and sometimes monthly).
Very often the bond is negotiable, i.e. the ownership of the instrument can be transferred in the
secondary market.
Thus a bond is a form of loan or IOU: the holder of the bond is the lender (creditor), the issuer of the
bond is the borrower (debtor), and the coupon is the interest. Bonds provide the ... Show more content

1.3 BOND MARKET DEVELOPMENT IN MALAYSIA * With the shift in public policy in the
1980s to consolidate public sector activities and promote the private sector as the engine of growth, a
new financing pattern emerged. With this transformation of the economy, the decline of public sector
borrowing was compensated by an increase in financing by the private sector. The private sector has
relied on the banking system for its financing needs, of which a large portion was intermediated
through the banking system the ratio of bank credit to gross domestic product (GDP) in Malaysia was
high at 149% in 1997. Nevertheless, the ratio of bank deposits to GDP was also high at 154% and
therefore banks were able to finance their lending operations from their deposits. * As the banking
sector was heavily exposed to the economic crisis that struck the nation in 1997, it was very cautious
in extending new credits. In the post crisis period, loan growth was low; for example in 1998 and
1999, growth was less than the target of 8% proposed by the government. * The malignancy of the

Supernatural Elements In Beowulf And The Lais Of Marie De...
Medieval and 16th century writers frequently used supernatural elements to tell their stories. Two
stories that are examples of this writing with supernatural elements are Beowulf , written by an
anonymous Anglo Saxon poet, and Lanval , from The Lais of Marie de France, written by Marie de

and power. The role of the supernatural in medieval writing helps writers to tell their stories by
developing the theme and the emotions of the characters as shown in Beowulf and Lanval . Beowulf

Speech On The Flag Desecration Amendment
n the How a Member Decides to Vote module you are asked to act as a congressman and vote on the
flag desecration amendment. This amendment was proposed to punish people that desecrated the flag
by burning, spitting, walking on, or anything else that would belittle the flag. By doing this you learn
to look at the many different viewpoints that were presented to you in the activity to try and sway your
vote. These viewpoints includes those of people like William Cramer and Tony Lorenza that say by
disrespecting the flag that it dishonors the thousands of men and women who have died protecting the
flag, or the viewpoints of people like Carole Richards, Ed Carpenter, and Alberta Washington that said
that it is what the people of the country and your district, that you are representing, wanted to be done.
The people for the amendment also stated that burning the flag wasn t a way of speech that it was a
violent act that people should be punished for. The people such as Tanya Johnson, Patricia Pearlman,
and Anna Ross that say that voting for this amendment would violate the First Amendment and would
violate one of the important principles of our democracy and would make our government more
totalitarian. You also have the viewpoints of George Watson and Samuel Jefferson both veterans that
say they signed up to protect the ideals of the government not the flag and that if it wasn t for the
ideals of the government the flag wouldn t mean as much to anyone. George Watson made a very

If I Were A Colonist Analysis
I believe the act that angered the colonists the most was the Boston Port Act. The Boston Port act
made sure that nothing would come in and out of the Boston waters. So in perspective, the people of
Boston wouldn t be able to trade with any other place because they wouldn t be able to get the goods
from anywhere because that would require traveling by ship which they couldn t do because the
waters were closed off. If i was a colonist then I would be angry about that. In fact it would have
caused people to move to other places so that they could actually buy goods from other places in the
world. Also for the reason that they also couldn t move anywhere else outside of America. If you were
Boston you would have been required to move somewhere

Mount And Blade Case Study
Offbeat Video Games
1. Mount Blade : Warband
All medieval action games absolutely have to have one essential thing : Magic, or so the developers
would have you believe. Big names like Bethesda and Bioware have made medieval RPGs, very
successful ones at that, but all of them were firmly set in the genre of fantasy. Well, if you re one of
those gamers who want a medieval game with realistic combat and no magic whatsoever, then
Taleworld s Mount Blade : Warband is the game for you. Mount Blade s combat is amazing and the
designers clearly understood this, allowing the player to frequently be a part of large scale battles. The
combat system is pretty dynamic : there are a variety of melee attacks that the player can employ, each
of them chosen by moving the mouse in a particular direction. Players can fight on horseback, which
gives melee attacks a momentum benefit based on the timing and how farse the horse was moving. At

Yes, the Warcraft franchise does exist, but magic is just an attribute of the character. That s pretty
similar to having an overpowered special unit in Empire Earth or Age of Empires. Battle Mages, on
the other hand, takes magic to a whole new level. Unlike typical RTS games, the player is actually a
powerful spirit who is capable of casting powerful magic spells. In addition, of course, you have
melee and ranged units who you can control like any other strategy game. This gives magic an
element of strategy that simply does not exist in other RTS games. Your magic is powerful but mostly
used for support. Only your units can do the actual fighting. Your role as the magician is to heal your
units, nullify curses and poisons, give them stat advantages and occasionally casting a fireball at an
enemy cohort. Mana is in short supply and no matter what level you re at, you ll always find an
opponent who s powerful enough that you need to rely on strategy over and above your buffed up

Ethical Implications Of Ethical Consumerism
1.0 Ethical Consumerism 1.1 Definition The term Ethical consumerism, means that more customers
prefer to purchase goods that are obtained ethically, made ethically and distributed ethically.
According to Jacqueline Payne (2012), An ethical consumer is someone who buys things that are
produced ethically. Depending on the context, ethical production may mean producing something that
is recycled, using labour that is produced in facilities without the use of slavery and child labour, or
processing food that is raised organic or free range. If you buy one of these products, you could be an
ethical consumer and not even know it... or you may not be one. However, the whole point of the
ethical consumerism movement is that you know what you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Biomechanical Principles Applied To The Soccer Kick
Biomechanical Principles Applied to the Soccer Kick
Principal One:
Stability increases when there is a low centre of mass, when there is a wide base of support, the centre
of gravity is within the base of support and there is a large mass.
Unstable balance occurs when an athlete needs to be balanced but ready to move quickly and become
unstable.
The player is unstable as she flexes her hips over the ball during the backswing/recovery. She is
slightly balancing herself as she extends her hip and puts her arms outward on her sides so that she
will not completely fall over.
Her stability remains because she creates a large base of support by taking a wide step. When she
takes this wide step, she is bending her knees and crouching, lowering her centre of mass. She adjusts
her centre of mass to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This occurs in the soccer kick when the athlete makes contact with the ball using the shoelace area of
the cleat opposed to the toe or the sides of the foot. The follow through also contributes to maximum
force because the more time you have making contact, the more force you are putting on the kick. This
is why there is such a great emphasis on the follow through of a soccer kick.
Principle Three:
The production of maximum velocity requires the use of joints in order, from largest to smallest.
The athlete will need to go through the force producing movements to be able to complete a successful
soccer kick. This section of the sports skill primarily has to do with the fact that you use your muscles
moving from largest to smallest in order to create maximum velocity. This concept is in direction
relation to the third principle because when a soccer kick is being executed, the joints move from the
use of your hips, to your knees, to your ankles and all the way down to your toes (as you plantarflex).
Principle Five:
Movement usually occurs in the direction opposite of that of the applied

I scored a 9 on the Being Mr. Spock questionnaire. By having a score of 9 means that I am in the top
quartile. I do not wear my emotions on my sleeve. As an effective leader you will not be able to carry
your emotions around other people. That may be harmful for the organization or lead to other types of
issues revolving around your emotions. I do feel that people have a responsibility to do their jobs

Reflection Of The Past Ten Weeks
A Reflection of the Past Ten Weeks in FYI 101 When I started college at Augustana in August and
walked into my first day of FYI 101, bright and early on a Monday morning, I did not know what was
in store for me to learn in the following ten weeks. Coming into college I could not write in a proper,
college way. I did not know how to properly cite sources that I used. This included in text citations
and work cited pages. I also would write every essay in a five or six paragraph format instead of
writing many shorter paragraphs. I finally did not know how to use commas or semicolons among
many other grammar concepts. I also struggles with comprehending challenging passages. When I
would read I would not understand what I was reading and would just annotate the main points that
the article made by restating the point in the margins of the paper. Needless to say I learned a lot over
the past ten weeks. One of the first pieces of reading that we read in FYI 101 was Plato s Allegory of
the Cave . This was a passage that I particularly struggled with. When I read I could not understand
what Plato was saying. Due to this I could not annotate the passage. I spent a lot of time reading and
rereading the passage and eventually was able to start to understand the points that Plato was making.
I was then able not only to annotate what the main points were but was also able to make connections
to other pieces we have read through the term and notice literary elements in the work. For

The data in these charts is reflective of using the predefined Email(heavy) application profile metric. Figure 3 Email Point to Point Throughput (bits/sec) Figure 4 Email Pont to Point Utilization It s clear that background load has a significant impact on link throughput and utilization. The simulation without background loading remains steady and relatively flat with throughput at roughly 2Kbps and link utilization at under 5%. When background load is added, we see a marked upward trend in utilization and throughput early in the simulation that keeps with our scheme of incrementally ramping up background load from 19,200 to 32,000 during the first 8 minutes, followed by a less pronounced continued upward trend over the remainder of the simulation. Link throughput begins to stabilize at just over 30kbps late in the simulation, while link utilization approaches 50%. Interestingly, we see a sharp drop in email download response time during the first seconds of both scenarios even as background load is ramping up at the same time. However, both scenarios flatten out to a more consistent level as the simulation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Undivided Declaration Of Rowland High School In Rowland High School, October 6, 2014. The Undivided Declaration of Rowland High School, When in the course of human events, it becomes imperative to shake off the bands of repeated name callings and falsely given identities which have been connected for so long, and to assume that the playing field is once again even, giving your undivided attention and respect to the opinions of the unheard and abandoned as they state why they have decided to stand up against the bullying and how they plan to write how to isolate themselves from bullying altogether. We hold these truths to be axiomatic: that all students, no matter their background, ethnicity, or rank, are created equal in status and in identity; no student is higher than the other. Each student is equipped with secure and unalienable Rights; that among these rights are Respect, Rightful Identity, and Freedom of Speech. We also believe that rules are formed to protect these certain rights and that the power of these rules comes from the power of the students; whenever any part of the rule fails to protect these rights, it is the right of the students to change it and to form a new rule that follows such principles which organizes its powers to end in Security and Happiness. Fair judgment, as a matter of fact, will ordain to say that long prevailing consequences should not be changed because of trivial, temporary, or fleeting reasons; and, in fact, history proves that students are more likely to suffer the bullying, ... As I wake up thirty minutes before the class begins, time always forces me to prepare for the class quickly. Actually I want to eat breakfast with a cup of coffee but I do not have time to do so. I regret that I stayed up late last night. Tuesday is a day that I have to wake up early because I am taking a class at nine thirty. At nine o? clock, the cell phone, clock radio, and TV wake me up at once. On the radio, NPR news is on the air but I turn it off quickly. I need to wear contact lenses. This is an inconvenient thing in my morning. I really envy people who do not have to wear lenses or glasses. I can not do anything without them. I go back my room again, and then I change clothes from pajama. As I return to the kitchen, the good smell of coffee fills it. Now, the coffee is ready to be drunk. When I go out to smoke with a cup of coffee, I see that a few students leave their rooms for classes. I am always curious when the other students wake up. James argues that the rooting of a story in the common world of habits and timetables would aid the process of sympathetic identification between the reader and the haunted one. The Old Nurse s Story does very well to stick to the genre s structure, and is written to a high standard, that makes the readers feel fear, suspense and hope, which are all key to grasping the reader s attention immersing them into the story and gaining the most out of it. Gaskell does this by building the plot up to an ultimate climax, where the characters fully interact with the supernatural beings, this build up is created by using the character s new heightened relationship and a new unfamiliar setting, leaving the reader unnerved and waiting for something to happen. Charles Dickens s also stated that The Old Nurse s Story was a very fine ghost story indeed. Nobly told, and wonderfully managed. Dickens was a highly popular Victorian author during his own time and within the modern literary world, his opinion on Gaskell s first ghost story shows just how much of a success it was. Namely, the main focus of Aristotle s censure is circling around the claim that previous theoreticians of rhetoric put emphasis on something quite corollary in nature and secondary to the importance of rhetoric. So, according to Aristotle, the contemporary rhetoric handbooks discuss mainly two aspects of a speech: how many different parts a speech has to have (1.1.9, 3.13.1), and how to arise the emotions of the audience (1.1.4). In both cases, however, rhetoricians are in fact discussing something non essential to rhetoric and thus engage themselves with matters outside the subject (1.1.3 ff). Also, because of focusing on these two aspects only, Aristotle argues that the former practitioners have inclined to the forensic branch of oratory (1.1.12), since there the effect is easier to achieve, due to the disinterest of the dicasts (1.1.10). Yet, at times it seems as if Aristotle s real criticism for such rhetoric is targeted on the state and its laws rather than to the contemporary sophists (1.1.4 ff). The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 helped to establish banks as a united force working for the people instead of independent agencies working against each other. By providing a flexible amount of currency, banks did not have to hoard their money in fear of a bank run. Dickens uses an interesting metaphor, The distant savage lair from which the wind was rushing, was the sea which makes us; think about a ferocious beast attacking young Pip. Here Dickens is showing us how creative and imaginative a young child s imagination is, in this case it s Pip and how he thinks the wind is a beast trying to get him, which will also makes the reader concerned too. As chapter 2 opened we saw an interesting contrast, as Pip runs in to his home we expect it to be a safety place, we were wrong, instead it is much more dangerous than the wilderness and the marshes because the tickler (a wax ended piece of cane, worn smooth by collision) was being applied to him by his sister. His sister, applied Tickler to its further investigation and then, she concluded by throwing me . The modern readers would find this very disturbing but in Dickens time hitting children was expected to put them right , they used the proverb in the Bible, Spare the rod and spoil the child and this was something Victorian parents believed in and used to discipline there children. Charles Dickens also uses a double strand narrative for effect, this means that he sometimes uses the younger Pip s view of the world while at other times he uses the older Pip s view in a more distanced and ironical stance. I think if the drinking age were lowered, the number of students hospitalized might go up or even double. If colleges were to have a security check in every dorm, every day that will lower the number of hospitalizations. I know that there would be liquor at student apartments, but it would still help lower the number of deaths. I disagree on lowering the drinking age because students may drink more than their limits and go overboard. Very often the bond is negotiable, i.e. the ownership of the instrument can be transferred in the secondary market.
