Technology is the crucial factor for education sector to maintain all the data and information more
effectively and efficiently. Increasing dependence on the technology is adjusting student teacher
cooperation with the progression of time (Candace, 2004). Nowadays, people use computers and
internet for learning different programs. Internet helps students to find their own answers without
the help of the teachers. Information technology like internet is increasing the opportunities to learn
new things more easily and quickly. There are various online libraries that help the students and
teachers with reading materials. Students can also post their work online for the teachers to read
and grade. For instances: Westcliff university is using GAP (online system) where the student can
see the question and post their answer online and the teachers can check the students work online as
well. Information system has brought advancement in learning process with the help of audio
visual education. Nowadays, most of the students are taught with projectors and speakers with the
help of power point presentation. In today s technological world, most of the education sector
utilizes the latest technology and software so as to enhance the overall learning experience of the

The Importance Of Political Socialization
The main task of political socialization is to shape an individual s political orientation, attitudes,
and behaviors so that they fit into a particular political system (Lee Zhan, 1991). Existing
literature assumes one s most important political attitudes are shaped relatively early in life, and
that they remain stable in subsequent phases of life (Quintelier Hooghe, 2011). As political
participation is a habit shaped early in life (Valentino, Gregorowicz Groenendyk, 2009; Aldrich,
Montgomery, Wood, 2011), political socialization should be studied at the phase in which it
develops, namely adolescence (Youniss Yates, 1997; Campbell, 2006). Flanagan (2004) and others
have argued that a civic identity can develop relatively early in... Show more content on

However, these political socialization studies, most of which were conducted in North America
and Europe, have difficulty accounting for Marxist ideology s decreased presence in China s
basic education, despite its enhanced presence at the college level in recent years, and do not
explain why China has not stressed political socialization at an early age. Moreover, due to China s
massification of higher education since the 2000s, the divide between basic education s and higher
education s approaches to political education has sharpened. Therefore, this study aims to determine
how the difference in how Marxist political economy is taught in basic and higher education in
China impacts university students political education learning. This article first reviews the
literature on political education in basic education and higher education in China, especially the
divide in approaches to Marxist ideology education, and describes the design and implementation of
the study. The major patterns of its findings are presented next, after which some possible
explanations for these patterns are proposed, specifically in terms of: the importance of political
education in the earlier stages of life; the role of formal and informal university political education
in shaping students positive attitudes toward Marxist political economy and informing their
political participation;

Passion And Love In KillingsAndA Rose For Emily
These two short stories delve on the theme of passion, crime and morality. The violence
committed in both stories is deployed with the threat of love and with the longing for love as
well. Killings portrays a father s love to his child and the desire to avenge his death. However, the
own crime he has committed led to self destruction and some sort of self murder. The character is
in ironic position since he was confronted with the ardent desire to revenge and the guilt that came
with it. Anger and righteousness can be sympathetically felt with the character. Similarly, A Rose
for Emily portrays love as the root cause of the crime. In this story, the father suppressed his
daughter s womanlife which eventually led to her killing her lover to find eternal love. The two
stories are the same in some aspect in terms of the theme which revolves on passion and crime.
However, the character differs greatly on the impact of the crime committed by them. In Killings,
the character felt guilt and a sort of self death. The character in A rose for Emily on the other hand,
died with no remorse for what she committed.
The story of Killings by Andre Dubus centers on the theme of vengeance. The lead character,
Matt Fowler, plotted revenge on the young man who killed his son. The act of killing was more
of a private vengeance rather than an act of protection. However, Matt Fowler s act was even
motivated by the desire to protect his wife who suffered tremendously just by seeing the

How Technology Has Continuously Improved Computer Hardware...
Since the computer was invented the evolution of technology has grown into culture and has been
the central of communication since the early 1980s. In order to understand the meaning of
encryption and why it is so important, you have to understand why the computer was created and
how inventors have continuously improved computerhardware devices. The computer was first
invented to calculate numbers and help scientists with different mathematical equations. Then
during the world war I, and world war II, Germans were using these computers to encrypt messages
over morse code and complicated algorithms. However these algorithms of encryption were easily
cracked by United States cryptographers. Over the war many encrypted messages were broken and
the German military lost substations, overall control of the war; and eventually surrendering. Safe
to say that encryption devices has been a necessity for transmitting data securely and in today s
society personal containment (Crayton Culp, n.d.). Over the next five decades inventors, of all
nationalities, have worked to improve encryption hardware devices from the internal architecture,
removable storages, networking devices, and the overall networking security module.
Encryption has different meanings depending on what you context you are using it in, but for the
cyber context is means to convert electronic data into another form, called cipher text, which cannot
be easily understood by anyone except authorized parties (Rouse,

Explain Why The Voting Age Should Sixteen Year Olds Be...
Sixteen year olds can drive a car, work jobs, and pay taxes, but they are not able to vote. In 1971,
the voting age was lowered from 21 to 18 simply because that is the age you can join the military.
They lowered it down to age 18 because they thought that it was unfair that young men were not
able to vote, but they were able to fight in the war at the time, which was World War II. The voting
age should be lowered to sixteen because at that age, Sixteen year olds can drive a car, emancipate
from their parents, and if they vote while they are still young it can become a habit.
Sixteen year olds should be allowed to vote because they can drive a car. In
1921 Connecticut allowed sixteen year olds to drive with an adult with a license.

By the 1980s all states had a law that sixteen year olds could be able to take a drivers test and to
drive without an adult. So because sixteen year olds can drive they should also be able to vote.
Sixteen year olds should be allowed to vote because they can legally emancipate from their
parents at that age. Emancipation of a minor is when a child is no longer looked after by their
parents. To get emancipated the child must go to court. The judge then decides if the child
should be on their own. There are a few rules in order to emancipate, they must be married, or
they need to be in the armed US forces, or you must be living apart from your parents and able to
support yourself. So because sixteen year olds are able to emancipate from their parents and live
on their own they should be aloud to vote.
Sixteen year old should be able to vote because if they vote while they are still young it could
become a habit. Did you know that the brain is still developing until your mid twenties. During this
time the brain is more vulnerable to forming habits. So if teens start voting earlier the more these
habits will form. That s why sixteen year olds

of consumers these episode also discusses many stereotypes of modern day society. In this
episode Bart meets a new kid, Bashir whose family recently moved to the United States from
Jordan. The Simpsons have Bashir and his family over for dinner and Homer becomes suspicious
of them because they are Muslim. Throughout the episode Homer tries, to prove that Bashir s
parents are terrorists. This situation represents the stereotypes that are created by society and
some believe that all Muslim are dangerous terrorist. Sarcasm is shown in many instances, one
that stuck out was when Homer makes fun of the Muslim religion and culture. Instead of saying
Praise Allah he says Praise be to Oliver and instead of saying the Kuraan, he says the Corona
Stereotypes are shown when Homer automatically assumes that Bashir s parents are terrorists since
they are Muslim. Another example is when one of Homer s friend Leny tells him He s Muslim, so
he must be up to something.

Galileo was an Italian natural philosopher, astronomer, and mathematician, who made

Parent Child Relationships In Romeo And Juliet
Johnnie Dent Jr. once said, As parents we have a tendency to overprotect; it s okay to try and
show them all positives but we cannot forget that the real world has teeth. The real world is a
tough place and parents knowing their kids are going to be going in it is a hard thing to think
about. The author is saying that yes the world is going to be tough and it s ok to show your kids
the positives but remember the world isn t all as it s said to be. The parent teen relationship plays
an important role in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and for teenagers today. Aspects of
this relationship include romance, communication, trust, and romance within teens.

The relationship will be stronger and information can be shared between each other easier.Parents
can also get mixed signals on how their teenagers are feeling towards things. In The Tragedy Of
Romeo and Juliet this problem is present. When the death of Tybalt occurs Juliet s parents think
her sadness is due to this which in reality it s because of the banishment of her husband Romeo.
Teens can do one thing and their parents can take it the whole other way. Teens soon start to think
that their parents don t understand how they feel about things. Parents can also take things their
child says in a different way, which can cause confusion and frustration. Parents have a different
way they talk from their children which can include lectures. In You Just Don t Understand, Craig,
Judi E states Adolescent s eyes glaze over when parents launch into lengthy explanations in an
attempt to get teens to see a different point of view. Because a parent senses that the teen has tunes
off, she might repeat herself or cite more examples, probably raising her voice at the same time.
When communications skills begin to weaken teenagers begin to hide things from parents because
it is a struggle for them to get their point across without having problems arise. Craig goes on to say
that when parents continue to ask questions to their teens they start to get aggravated. When a teen

William Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale
Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale can be viewed as a tragicomedy that draws upon elements of As
You Like It and Othello. Similar themes of trust, love, treachery, infidelity and tyranny are found
throughout all three plays. While The Winter s Tale and As You Like It share similar happy
endings, Othello shares more concepts with The Winter s Tale, but ends with a much more tragic
ending. Both Leontes and Othellohave severe trust issues and accuse their wives of having affairs.
In these plays, both kings end up being incorrect and therefore produce really dramatic story lines.
In Othello, Iagoplants the seed of jealousy in Othello s mind, as opposed to in The Winter s Tale,
in which Leontes s own paranoia feeds this idea in his mind to the point where he orders his
wife and baby to be sent away. As You Like It is a play which encompasses themes of love and
issues of brotherhood and violation of primogeniture. The conflicts raised at the beginning of the
play are resolved at the end of the play just like in The Winter s Tale. Act V of The Winter s Tale
draws elements from the other plays when the truth is finally revealed about the innocent wives and
when there is a happy ending in the plays other than Othello. The main difference between these
two plays, is that Othello ends with tragedyand multiple deaths, and The Winter s Tale ends with
family unity and happiness. The Winter s Tale is labeled as a tragic comedy because the first three
acts of the play feel much like a

What Are Children Considered Adults
The topic of when children and teenagers should be considered adults is very controversial, and
has always been. However, the answer seems to be clear when you look at how the human body
develops and the changes it goes through; one is an adult once the body, especially the brain, is
finished going through the major developments of puberty and early years. Some may say that
people could be considered adults when they re just 16 years old, or sometimes younger than that.
However, during that time, a child will likely still be going through puberty, which causes the
entire body to change and grow. Sexual organs will develop, the child will grow larger, and
hormones like testosterone will be released into the body. There is an area in the brain... Show more

Use Of Trauma In Wilson Owen s Dulce Et Decorum Est
Wilson Owen (1893 1918), a soldier that fought in WWI, uses aspects of prosody in his poem
Dulce et Decorum Est (1917) to convey how trauma generates significant impact because one
suffers from confusion during a deathly situation. The poet describes an experience he had while
in war: In all my dreams before my helpless sight, / he plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning
(Owen 15 16). Owen uses imagery to set the scene by describing his situation as something he
cannot help. A fellow soldier is enveloped in tear gas and cannot find a gas mask so he plunges
toward the author in attempt to receive his. Furthermore, he changes the rhythmical structure from

Racial Profiling Essay
How Would You Feel If You Were a Victim Of Racial Profiling? Racial profiling is a serious
issue of social importance in the United States. This topic has become a significant issue due to
the fact that it discriminates against one of the most basic human rights the freedom to be
whoever they want and believe in whatever they want. It also makes many people feel
uncomfortable when being searched, pulled over, and looked at as if they were criminals when
all they are guilty of is having a different skin color or a different religion. Even if in some cases
racial profiling assists police to arrest people for committing real crimes, it makes a larger amount
of innocent individuals feel as if they were criminals; therefore, I am against it. Racial profiling is
any police action taken based on racerather than on behavior, evidence, or information provided
about an individual and law enforcement should start taking action against it because it is not
humane in any shape or form.
Some level of racial profiling has probably always existed in the United
States. The article What is Racial Profiling? found on the wiseGeek.com website, speaks to the
general public by providing information about racial profiling. They say that many people get
pulled over or suspected of criminal acts based on their ethnicity, religion, or skin color. In addition,
during an investigation of a crime, police tend to use race as a principal if not the only factor in

Steve Jobs And The Computer Industry
Steve Jobs Steve Jobs career began in a blink of an eye. He was well known for all his amazing
products such as apple 1, apple 2, mackintosh, etc. He also purchased an animation company from
George Lucas, which later became Pixar Animation Studios. He invested money into the company
out of his own pocket. The studio went on to produce popular movies. Jobs had many people help
him build what he has today especially with the help of Steve Wozniak(Steve, n.d.). Together they
changed the computer industry. Jobs was very successful but like everyone else he had to start
from nothing and his company made billions when he was just 21. He has an amazing story to tell
about his life, career, and how he left a big impact in the computer industry.

How To Write An Essay On The Kite Runner
The kite runner takes place in Afghanistan where the norm is for little kids to be molested and
raped. The Taliban brush it off as if it is acceptable for people to do. This tragic act happened to a
little boy named Hassan, his friend Amir saw the act being done, but was so afraid to do
anything, he acted as if he did not witness it. Little did he know that he not speaking up and
defending his friend would haunt him all his life. Even after twenty six years later it still haunted
him. The author set up the book with it starting with such a tragic event and ends it with a very
good scene almost a happy ending. I feel as if she did that to say you can overcome anything that
happens in your life. When tragic things happen in your life that you cannot control, you have to

Amir wanted to make a difference so he tried to find out who was the officer that put Hassans
son in and orphanage. The way he found Sohrab in the officers care was very sad, he had make
up on and a silk garment on, which made him look very feminine like they used him as some
doll they sexually took advantage of. Come to find out the guard that was holding Sohrab was the
person that raped his father when he was younger. Sohrab and Amir end up living in the United
States together and at the end of the book it tells that they are kite running together. The framing
of the novel is so important because it starts with Hassan, a servant of Amir s family much lower
in society, running for the kite for Amir and then at the end Amir ends up running the kite for
Hassans son Sohrab. Life in their country has truly evolved since the beginning, Amir ran the kite
just like Hassan did for him and that was how he redeemed himself from his guilt from all these

Adolescent Behavior And Abusive Situations
Abstract An estimated 20 people per minute in the United States are abused by an intimate partner
each year (Breiding et al., 2014). Many reasons have been identified that prevent women from
leaving and remaining out of abusive relationships. Such factors include economic, religious,
cultural, and psychological (.e.g. fear, learned helplessness, self esteem). Yet, there has been very
limited research that examines the neurocognitive issues that influences a woman s decision return
to abusive situations, despite opportunities and resources to leave. The following study will explore
possible implications of addictive behavior towards abusive situations in battered women due to
neurocognitive dysfunction. We hypothesized that battered women will present with decision
making impairment similar to persons with substance dependency and other addictions. Findings
will shed light on the need to develop more comprehensive prevention and intervention measures to
decrease the number of women who return to abusive situations. Background Currently, the United
States spends an estimated eight billion dollars per year on medical and legal expenses alone
(Burnett, 2014). Unfortunately, the physical, psychological, and emotional costs to women and
their children are immeasurable. Women of domestic violence often experience both acute and
chronic health problems, substance abuse, and psychological disorders. (Breiding et al.,2014). .

The Emotional And Criticism Of Romanticism By William...
Introduction Amongst the dogmatic religious past, which when confronted by the enlightened
present became more rigid in its practice and conformity, and enduringly factual and empirical
science lived a man called William Wordsworth, so sentimental and philosophic that even greater
minds couldn t solve completely the cipher that his word created, or rather couldn t completely
understand the legacy that he left for the modern era. Even when heard or looked upon different
meaning and various analogies appear into the mind of people to which it soothes. And this
allegory of expression was there in his poem, with coloring with shades of Indian philosophies and

How Does Michael Moore Use Ethos In Bowling For Columbine
While viewing Bowling for Columbine by Michael Moore about gun control he argues that gun
violence in America is massive and it can be helped with stricter gun control laws and changes to
laws and policies. He builds his argument through the uses of pathos, logos, and explanation of
the evidence. Moore used pathos to address his audience directly and appeal to them more
emotionally. Throughout the film, he often shows videos, images, or sounds that evoke sympathy
from the viewer. Moore conclusively demonstrates pathos when he says To American living
breathing in fear. Where gun sales are not at an all time record high. He does this so effectively
by using more videos, sad music, or even talking to the people that this massacre affected. In order
to persuade his viewers to his position through empathy, he shows the danger of what will happen if
gun control laws and policies are not changed not just to make money off the truth but to share
empathy his viewers about gun violence.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
throughout, the film he compares Americans to gun violence to 10 different other countries and
tries to reason why our numbers are so high. In order for Moore to effectively demonstrate his
use of logos, he talks about the 10 different countries including Canada and France all with
numbers below 400 people dead a year of gun violence while U.S numbers reach almost 11,000
people yearly. He does this so effectively by visiting the people in Canada and talking to people
who were interviewed about why do they think gun violence has reached an all time high and
they all repeat because the U.S. history was so violent. In other words, Moore wants to know how
can we get these numbers down and show how the dangers of gun violence are killing hundreds of

Anabolic Androgenic Steroids Is A Huge Problem Among Today...

Anabolic Androgenic Steroid Abuse in Professional Sports Anabolic androgenic steroids are a
huge problem amongst today s athletes. The use of these drugs has been around for many years
in sports. Understanding anabolic androgenic steroids and why people take them is needed in
the process of trying to eliminate them from professional sports. Also, players knowing and
understanding how the negatives of anabolic androgenic steroid use outweigh the positives will
hopefully help new players who are looking for an edge on the competition to refrain from the
use of anabolic androgenic steroids. Along with the harmful side effects players can experience
from anabolic androgenic steroid abuse, it also hurts the integrity of professional sports as a
whole. Allowing players access to intervention programs and treatment can help to curb the
widespread use of AAS. My goal in this paper is to show what anabolic androgenic steroids are,
why they impact sports in a negative way, and why they give professional athletes an unfair
advantage and shouldn t be a factor in sports. Anabolic androgenic steroids and other performance
enhancing drugs has always been a forbidden thing in sports, but have just recently come into the
spotlight again. According to Machado and Cortez Pinto, Anabolic androgenic steroids are
synthetic derivatives of testosterone, the main male sex hormone (280). Athletes mainly take

Importance Of Decoration Of The Living Room

Decoration of the living room, it is kind of hard sofa, wall unit, table, TV and ... living room
ready. But after all, it does not always work together ... So how to decorate the living room to be
functional and elegant?
The living room has many different functions. We rest in it, we accept guests, often eat meals and
even sleep. Therefore, the arrangement of the salon can not be accidental. The smaller the living
room, the more effort you need to put in order to properly design it. Here are five principles you
should use when creating a living room.
The size of the living room is important
According to architects, the most functional is the living room of 25 30 sq.m. it is easy to
separate functional zones. If the room you are using for a living room is smaller, you may want to
think of connecting it to another room, such as a kitchen or a hall. Removing a partition wall will
make the interior more spacious, and neighboring rooms will not suffer. The living room should
not be larger than 40 square meters, because the large space will not be cozy.
Division of the living room into zones
Not every room has a square shape. In the living room an unusual shape is an advantage in a
natural way to create several zones. If you have a niche when connecting rooms, you can use it for
office space or a dining room. (Read: How to decorate a living room with a dining room?

narrator that mess with his appearance by dulling his razors and removing the buttons on his
clothes. The narrator keeps issues to himself because he doesn t want to lose his job or there be a

I thought this story was very ambitious. It reminded me of an old movie called Honey I Shrunk

the humor the author added. The things that the wife would do to the husband I felt sorry for him,
but at the same time they were such little things a miniature person would do if they were home
all day and bored. I think the wife did those things to the narrator because she blames him for what
has happened to her. The author on top of the ambitious story then has the wife cheat on her
husband. This twist I was surprised by; I thought there was going to be a happy ending between the
two was they would reconcile and perhaps the husband would shrink himself. I felt the author made
the story grander by adding the twist at the

Appealing to logos means persuading readers by the use of reasoning, and helps to support
claims or arguments logically. Firstly, she gives an account of happy embarrassment by citing
an expert s points. Happy embarrassment is when people tease each other, and it brings out
slight emotions of hurt and embarrassment. McGonigal says that teasing each other is one of the
fastest and most effective ways to intensify people s positive feelings for each other (McGonigal

emotions at the University of California, and talks about his experiments on the psychological
benefits of teasing. McGonigal provides reliable data or citations from experts, instead of using
only her assertions. The reason she mentions experts is to make readers believe her data are

The Value of a College Degree
For many families, the idea that higher education for themselves or their children will
automatically improve their social or economic status is a common one. In many situations this
can be the case, however it is not universal. Additionally, many factors come into play when
analyzing how intergenerational mobility does or does not occur. Some of these factors include
existing social class, field of study, undergraduate vs. advanced degrees, race or gender, selection
of institution, and parental resources. The general hypothesis of this study is Is a College Degree

However, this intergenerational status association is weaker among women. In the case of
earnings mobility, a similar U shaped pattern emerges. In cases of earnings distribution, those at
the extreme ends of educational distribution show the strongest association (i.e. individuals with
less than a college degree and advanced degree holders) indicating, a college degree appears to
still be a great equalizer among BA holders but not among advanced degree holders (Torche, 2011).
So far, the analysis of intergenerational mobility as it relates to class, occupational status, and
earnings has been restricted to labor market forces.
When family income mobility is studied, other factors are taken into account such as non
occupational resources and family level processes. Specific examples that were taken into account
included parental transfers of wealth and intergenerational reproduction as it relates to occupational
mobility. While the results of this area of study closely resemble previously discussed results, one
interesting point emerges. The influence of parental income on sons income level is substantial
among those without a college degree, it declines to insignificance among college graduates, and
then it regains strength among advanced degree holders... (Torche, 2011). This brings to light the

large role in introducing religion, technology and social change. Warfare in particular is an area

The Punic Wars introduced Rome to the importance of naval dominance and to mercenary armies.
Rome had struggled in naval conflicts and it was not there was a demand to defeat the
Carthaginian at sea and this was reflected in better trained sailors and technology such as the

forced boarding onto enemy ships is an example of the technological advancements that was
introduced. The effect the corvus had on Roman naval tactics was profound as it allowed the early
Roman marines to fight in close combat and compete on a level ground against strong naval
opponents. This was a vital for the Romans in a time when their mastery of infantry warfare was
more advanced than their naval tactics during the conflict. In addition this conflict as a form of
cultural contact made the Roman accept the need to expand their navy, and this was achieved
within two months as mass production led to the commission of over a hundred warships to be

A Short Note On Chronic And Chronic Illness
Ms. Jones has a both acute and chronic illness which makes her situation more complex. The
acute conditions have a great potential to be reversed; she has a critical hemoglobin (Hgb) level
of 6.4 g/dl, a major infection and a left gangrenous extremity that requires emergent care.
Treatment of the acute condition may be complicated by her chronic condition of diabetes.
Immediate care is required to avoid the spread of the infection and a further decline in her Hgb
level which could result in a fatality. Stabilization of her Hgb level and starting intravenous
antibiotic therapy is necessary to avoid harm; decreasing her chance of cardiac arrest and
systemic infection which would increase the likelihood of success in her case. This scenario
does not mention her blood glucose (BG) level but another way harm can be avoided is by
assuring her BG level is within an acceptable range, as well. Therefore, admitting her to a medical
surgical unit to stabilize her Hgb and BG may be necessary prior to surgery. Although her anemia
could be a result of her infection the practitioner should make an effort to determine the cause of
her low Hgb levels to avoid further complications and develop future treatment plans. However,
medical care would not be indicated, if Ms. Jones continues to refuse blood transfusions.
Therefore, more of a palliative or hospice care path may be indicated versus medical and surgical
acute care. According to our text, Ms. Jones has not had a mini mental

In America, the land of the free, people believe that it s the greatest place to be. And America
would probably be what everyone believes, but it has a very serious problem that could eventually
destroy the country as whole. America is built upon Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but
it has a strong equalityissue that has to be taken care of. Equality is a social contract in America
and unfortunately it is a broken one. A social contract is an agreement amongst the members of a
society, but equality is a serious issue. Equality poses the biggest problem to America simply
because in any country the people make the country, and if the people can t get along either internal
conflicts occur, or people eventually leave. Throughout America everyone regardless of race, color,
or sexual orientation has experienced inequality in some part of America. Words are exchanged,
fists are thrown, and in serious cases lives are lost because people are racists to one another.
Equality is a broken social contract in America that will eventually be its demise if not attended to.
There are countless instances of of inequality in America, there is inequality against those who are
black, hispanics, people who are apart of or support the LGBTgroup, and even women. It Doesn t
matter where in America, there is no such thing as a community where people treat each other as
equal. People will always see color or have stereotypic thoughts about others. People always find a

Stronger Kanye West Analysis
In his Grammy award winning song Stronger, voice of our generation Kanye West eloquently
raps I know I got to be right now, cause I can t get much wronger. Though his statement in
context refers to his longing for love, it can be interpreted in a way that emphasizes a blind
assumption of correctness. In his words, West speaks in a contradictory fashion, in that he, as a
person, cannot get much wronger, so he must be right. In doing this, West blurs the line between
socially constructed definitions of right and wrong, raising the question, are humans truly capable
of being able to differ between these two concepts? Related to the ideas posed by Stronger, Don
DeLillo s White Noise delves into this sort of moral ambiguity, a gray... Show more content on

Acting on Murray s idea that killing could be a solution to alleviate the fear of death, Gladney
decides to kill Willie Mink, distributor of Babette s Dylar, thinking to himself while on the way,
transient pleasures, drastic measures (290). Acting on his fear of death, Gladney seems to be
cognizant of his plans, able to discern the drastic moral implications of them; he consciously
chooses to go with them, also seeing them as a transient pleasure, something that can temporarily
alleviate his fear. The order of the phrase itself reflects Gladney s internal moral conflict, as it
quickly switches from a tone of brief happiness to one of desperation, emphasizing how even he
is unsure about how he truly feels. In portraying Gladney in this situation as paradoxically
introspective, DeLillo criticizes the obsession with the concept of death, emphasizing the fact
that Gladney is willing to breach moral extremes in order to satisfy his own perceived fear. This
willingness to do literally anything in order to satisfy an obsession with the abstract is an
inherently ridiculous concept, primarily because of the irrationality of doing so. After shooting
Mink and being shot back at, Gladney looks at him in a new light, with the restoration of the
normal order... I felt I was seeing him for the first time as a person (299). Even though he had shot
Mink just moments before, Gladney suddenly assumes an uncharacteristically benevolent
personality. Unable to even keep in check his feelings and emotions, Gladney is under the
assumption that everything is back to normal, where he believes he can finally see Mink as a
person. This extremely sudden shift in character represents nothing more than the extent of
Gladney s fear of death, as he is willing to accept simply

Complications, Complication Rates, And 90 Day Readmission...
Abstract
With the recent focus on dramatic cuts and escalating healthcare costs in the United States, a new
center of attention has been placed upon postoperative readmission and reimbursement. Although
sacral fractures constitute a large component of all pelvic fractures, there is relatively little data
investigating differences in the postoperative length of stay (LOS), the complication rates, and the
90 day readmissions for these patients. The purpose of this paper was to investigate differences in
postoperative length of stay, complication rates, and 90 day readmission rates for patients with
operative isolated sacral fractures. All patients who presented to a large tertiary care center with
isolated sacral fractures in an 11 year ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This significant difference in LOS between ORIF vs. percutaneous fixation of sacral injuries
leading to an average difference of $13,590 in average inpatient cost highlights predicative
information to potentially reduce perioperative costs related to sacral fractures for orthopaedic
surgeons.
INTRODUCTION
45% of all pelvic fractures are sacral injuries [1]. They can occur in high energy collisions, with
motor vehicle accidents making up 57% of these crush injuries [2]. Traumatic force can lead to
compression, which then precipitates neurological complications [3]. For this reason, these
fractures are musculoskeletal injuries requiring emergent action at trauma centers to reduce the risk
of complications.
While open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) methods permits direct visualization of the
injured pelvis, there are highly variable wound complication rates ranging from 3.9% to 27% [4].
Critics of ORIF are concerned about the extremely high risk of infection post operatively, which
can increase from 18% to 27% for fractures treated early and late, respectively [5]. It is reasonable
to consider a more minimally invasive technique such as percutaneous fixation, which uses screws
to mechanically stabilize an unstable sacrum [6]. Percutaneous fixation with iliosacral screws, for
example, have led to decreases in surgical time, exposure related hazards, and soft tissue disruption
[7].

Speech On Learner Centred Pedagogy
Learner centred pedagogy
We have been talking about child centred or learner centred pedagogy for the past well over 16
years; but even today our classroom practices mostly remain what they were 25 years ago. Large
over crowded classes, ill trained and untrained teachers, poorly equipped classrooms, single teacher
schools, and multi grade teaching is some of the stark realities that severely restrict the use of
learner centred pedagogy. It is high time that we switch over from teacher centred education to
learner centred teaching and learning. Teachers need to be trained and facilitated to handle learner
centred pedagogy.
Inclusive education
Another central concern of teacher education relates to what is known as inclusive or integrated
education. Inclusive/integrated education should cover not only children with mild disabilities
(who are educable ), but also street children, children from remote and nomadic populations, and
children from other disadvantaged and marginalised areas or groups. There is an emerging
consensus that children with special educational needs should be included in the educational
arrangements made for the majority of children. This is the essence of ... Show more content on

Competence here includes academic qualifications, pedagogical skills and commitment. In the
years to come, teacher education programs may have to be more and more subject specific. The
teacher education institutions may have to offer more specific programs separately to prepare
teachers in the areas of science, social science, languages, physical education, and vocational
streams. Such subject specific courses in teacher education will provide greater scope and
appropriate opportunities to delineate and discern suitable theoretical inputs and conceptualisation
in relation to practices in education. They will facilitate the process of bringing theory and practice

Literary Analysis Of A Worn Path By Eudora Welty
A Worn Path Literary Analysis A Worn Path is a short story written by Eudora Welty that
describes the trail Phoenix Jackson, an elderly African American lady, takes in order to reach a
certain town during a festive holiday. Due to the imagery and terminology used to describe
Phoenix such as, [...] an old Negro woman [...] (Welty, 221), it can be assumed that the story
takes place during Christmas time in the rural countryside of the southern US, and presumably
around the 1940 s. Nonetheless, Phoenix Jackson, the protagonist of this story, is guided
through a mysterious path of natural dangers in an utmost forlorn disposition with a limited
omniscient point of view. Furthermore, the third person narration with a limited omniscience
that is exclusive to Phoenix herself tells about her experiences of the path and impressions she
has upon strangers and people. Such was observed when the author denoted, Finally, trembling
all over, she stood free, and after a moment dared to stoop for her cane. Sun so high! she cried,
leaning back and looking, while the thick tears went over her eyes. The time getting all gone
here (Welty, 222) The way the author described Phoenix s actions, and how she, for the most
part, spoke her thoughts out loud in a stream of consciousness form, allowed the reader to only
be able to comprehend her impressions. Such descriptions and characterizations are not seen
within other characters throughout the story. This settles the direct basis for a limited
omniscient point of view because the reader, through the perspective of an eagle that observes
Phoenix, is able to view life and the dangers along the way through her eyes and not through the
perspectives of secondary characters such as the white hunter or nurse. In addition, another
important literary aspect detected in Welty s work is voice. Voice, in this case, served the
generous purpose of giving vitality to Phoenix s character. Such can be noted in her colloquial
and casual form of language as seen in dialogue like, who be you the ghost of? [...] My senses is
gone. I too old. I the oldest people I ever know (Welty, 223). Her informal language allows the
reader to receive the impression that Phoenix is not from a wealthy and

Bushcraft Vs Survival Research Paper
THE INTRODUCTION
In many blogs and Youtube videos that I ve seen, there are countless of discussions about
bushcraft vs survival (craft), what do they mean and what are the differences between them? It s
true that there are undeniable similarities about them because they tend to involve the wilderness
and the outdoors, shelter, fire, water, etc. However, in fact the two things are quite different. In
this post I d like to briefly talk about what each one is, how they differ from each other and why it
s important to understand the differences. Keep in mind that these are my opinions and you may or
may not agree, it s all good.
DIFFERENT IN DEFINITIONS
First of all, I want to mention the basic meaning of those two things so that we can see the
differences in theory. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mean while Bushcraft is defined as:
Skill in anything pertaining in bush country.
Ability and experience in matters concerns with living in the bush.
I tend to break it down like this:
A survival situation is any kind of events (usually short term, about 72 hours or less, though some
can go much longer) that required you to take action to save your life or other s life. The main goal
here is not only just survival but to return home, either through rescue and search team or your own
navigational ability.
Bushcraft is completely different, where it implies a long term strategy and unnecessarily an
unexpected circumstance or an instant danger to life. People into bushcraft often go into wilderness
intentionally with minimal amount of gears to test their abilities and horn their skills, not to
survive but to exist and thrive in the nature.
So basically in survival (craft), you stuck in the wilderness and try to find your way back to
civilization while in bushcraft, you use your refined skills to make comfort out of the situation. It is
perhaps in the mindset of the person who do the

Tomahl Cook vs Nj
State v. Tomahl Cook The case of Tomahl Cook vs. The State of New Jersey was a very
grusome study in the tragedy of Katrina Suhan. Katrina was murdered February 14, 1998 in Old
Bridge, New Jersey. She was only 15 years when she was brutally murdered by a cold hearted
ruthless murderer. Katrina s life was taken away from her at such a young age due to a sick
human being. The experience of driving by where Katrina lived, where she was abducted, and
where she was murdered was very moving. I found it very interesting to follow the trail of a murder
as if I was on the case myself. The street where Katrina was abducted is a pretty busy street which
is North Stevens St. in South Amboy. I could envision it at night how it could be... Show more

The neighborhood seemed to be a nice area from how it looks now. Katrina had a very long walk
that night to reach her destination. Unfortunately she would never make it back to her house the
evening of Valentine s Day. Instead she was brutally murdered and left to die in a field behind a
bowling alley where now lies the Home Depot in Sayerville. Her body was found by people who
were riding atv s behind the bowling alley in a wooded area. Her skull was fractured as she
suffered blunt force trauma which induced her death. The Home Depot was sincere enough to
leave a space where a memorial lies for Katrina where her body was found. The memorial is a
nice area where an engraved stone has Katrina s information and the usual information a
tombstone would read. Overall I found it to be a very interesting experience to go through the
steps of the murder case. I could almost put myself in Katrina s shoes that night when her life
was tragically ended unfortunately. Tomahl Cook is serving a life sentence in prison which he
absolutely deserves, but none the less I think he should have got the death penalty. I feel if any
human being abducts somebody and murders them should have their own life taken away from
them. I think this is the proper way justice should be served. A poor innocent girl on February 14.

Presentation of the Issue
E Learning is trying to provide a more individualized, self paced, self directed learning experience
(Clark). A survey by a Sociology Professor at CSU Northridge showed that students in his virtual
class performed 20% better than students in his traditional class (Clark). On the other hand, issues
concerned with E Learning includes the fact that students may not be as motivated since, another

The IT Background of the Issue
Students can sign up for courses and choose a format of learning that suits them best; video,
interactive tutorials, hyperlinked textbooks or face to face group sessions. (US NEWS) Quizzes are
given occasionally to ensure that students are learning the material. There are four different types
of E Learning; Knowledge databases (step by step instructions, few explanations and questions),
Online Support (Chat rooms, online bulletin boards, email or live messaging), Asynchronous
training (Self paced learning based on CD s, Networks, internet or the intranet) and Synchronous
training (Internet using Real Time communicate directly with the instructor) (Howstuffworks).
Television was one of the first medias that E Learning was available by but since it was too
expensive and the information was too dry, people started to lose interest (Lyon). Videotapes then
evolved and were used in school classrooms (Lyon). When the Internet was invented, E Learning
used it to allow students to work with tutors from various places around the world. Students can
work at their own pace thus giving them time to do other activities. Even though there is an issue
with bandwidth, there are other optional types of media on the Internet, which uses less bandwidth
than others.
The Global market for corporate E Learning is expected to grow 27% annually (McGee) and it is
also expected that

Stereotyping In Choir Boy
There are various times that people face different forms of discrimination, whether that be from
past historical events that caused those forms of discrimination to form, such as the Jim Crow laws
and the Separate but Equal doctrine that allowed for racial segregation in restaurants, trains, and
several other place that one would not expect nowadays. However these same discriminations that
took hold of many lives, both in the past and the present, have also taken into account forms of
stereotyping. Stereotyping is the putting of labels on any person should act or behave based on
their race, religion, and/or sex as well as several other features and facts. However, stereotyping is

Drew , is a place where African American boys are taught to lead and are usually in their school
choir. In this play, the protagonist, Pharus Jonathan Young, is a young African American boy
who struggles with his sexuality as well as the treatment he receives for being more effeminate
than his fellow classmates. However, there is the fact that as Pharus sings at the very beginning
of the play, there are homophobic slurs being thrown his way, demonstrating the hostile
environment that he would most likely be facing at his school, not just because he is gay, but
also because of the faith that those boys had as well as the stereotyping of black males
masculinity. As the play goes on, Pharus grows as a character and becomes more aware and
more comfortable in his own skin as well as making his classmates see that just because he is a
homosexual does not mean that should be treated any differently than the rest. As a matter of fact,
in a portion of the play that takes place in the boy s locker room, the five young men all come out
and sing Motherless Child, which in turn united the group of boys without much of an effort,
except that they were finally able to see their similarities rather than their differences and in a much
more soothing, calmed, and honest form of communication than the fights and constant bullying.
Not only is Pharus able to overcome these obstacles, he is also able to demonstrate to his
classmates, both directly and indirectly, how those stereotypes hurt him and made his peers
unfriendly. Not only that, but in a way, it also represented Tarell McCraney s difficult life as a
homosexual African American. Not only did the stereotypes portrayed by the characters of Tarell
Alvin McCraney s demonstrate the difficulties of being different and growing up in a
predominately prejudices community of African Americans. But through Tarell McCraney s skillful
writing, he is able

Character Analysis Of Esperanza Rising
In the book Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan, Esperanza is the main character who is the
protagonist. Esperanza is a thirteen year old child that has been faced with more tragic events
from the age of nine to thirteen than some may experience their whole life time. Her character is
very smart, determined, and compassionate just like some of the kids you may know. The author
does a great job with allowing the reader to get inside Esperanza s head to understand her thinking
and logic. The author uses Esperanza life to encourage children who may be going through some of
the same experience, that they could make it through to. Although Esperanza is just a normal kid
trying to have fun, the constant tragic events in her life forces her to mature instantly becoming a
strong young adult. This paper will discuss how Esperanza grew up and some of Esperanza
reactions that shows her growth in maturity, while exploring some of the conflicts Esperanza
experienced that causes her to change her thinking.
First, the book starts off telling the story of how Esperanza grew up in a loving wealthy family who
owned El Rancho de las Rosas in Aguascalientes, Mexico. She was surrounded by generations of
family members who loved her. The family had lots of servants who worked for them during the
grape harvest season and they also helped them with everything else during the off season.
Esperanza was a young girl who really didn t understand poverty and was known to have a
snobbish attitude at times when she was little because of her family s wealth. She was
surrounded by families that were just as wealthy as her own so poverty was not a norm in their
community. There are many examples of her snobby ways in the beginning of book like when
she first boarded a train in Mexico and realizes that she and her friend definitely wouldn t be
traveling first class. Her reaction to this was basically like: You expect me to travel coach?! Yeah
right. It was evident Esperanza did not use to a present lifestyle. Esperanza father was her biggest
mentor and she followed his teachings very closely. After the death of her father, it was people like
Abuelita, Mama, and Miguel that help keep Esperanza diva tude in check which helped keep her

How Did The Vietnam War Affect The Use Of Guerrilla Warfare
Beyond the lack of support from the United States citizens, the biggest reason that we lost was the
lack of intel in regards to the enemy and the land. Before the Vietnam War, most of our wars had a
very obvious enemy that we were fighting but this war was not the case. The most common enemy
in this war which was referred to as North Vietnamese and they used a Guerrilla Warfare tactic and
would blend in with the Vietnamese citizens. Guerrilla Warfare is also known as a hit and run
tactic, the enemy would attack and then as quickly as they attacked they would disappear into the

ratio of North Vietnamese and Americans is estimated to be seventy five to one. There was an

battle. Khe Sanh is a village between North Vietnam and South Vietnam that was considered a
demilitarized zone and was a very important village in the war. In early 1962 the United States
Military Command Vietnam established an Army Special Forces base not too far from the small
village so they can use it as a launch pad for small patrols into Laos so they can block the North
Vietnamese from infiltrating South Vietnam. By January of 1968 approximately six thousand
soldiers occupied this base. The battle started slowly with just 5 marines that were on patrol being
killed and escalated into a full on out war with an estimated fifteen thousand North Vietnamese
soldiers being killed. The battle lasted seventy seven days and ended up being the worst loss during
the Vietnam War.
The Vietnam War became the worst lost in United States history due to the lack of support from the
citizens and soldiers and the poor planning from the government and upper command in the

Some of the disadvantages are: limiting the vendors may limit the variety of products,
relinquishing inventory control over to vendors and distributors may negatively impact their

remained on an increasingly consistent track as their revenue has risen. According to Best Buy

  • 3. The Importance Of Political Socialization The main task of political socialization is to shape an individual s political orientation, attitudes, and behaviors so that they fit into a particular political system (Lee Zhan, 1991). Existing literature assumes one s most important political attitudes are shaped relatively early in life, and that they remain stable in subsequent phases of life (Quintelier Hooghe, 2011). As political participation is a habit shaped early in life (Valentino, Gregorowicz Groenendyk, 2009; Aldrich, Montgomery, Wood, 2011), political socialization should be studied at the phase in which it develops, namely adolescence (Youniss Yates, 1997; Campbell, 2006). However, these political socialization studies, most of which were conducted in North America and Europe, have difficulty accounting for Marxist ideology s decreased presence in China s basic education, despite its enhanced presence at the college level in recent years, and do not explain why China has not stressed political socialization at an early age. Moreover, due to China s massification of higher education since the 2000s, the divide between basic education s and higher education s approaches to political education has sharpened. Therefore, this study aims to determine how the difference in how Marxist political economy is taught in basic and higher education in China impacts university students political education learning. This article first reviews the literature on political education in basic education and higher education in China, especially the divide in approaches to Marxist ideology education, and describes the design and implementation of the study. The major patterns of its findings are presented next, after which some possible explanations for these patterns are proposed, specifically in terms of: the importance of political education in the earlier stages of life; the role of formal and informal university political education in shaping students positive attitudes toward Marxist political economy and informing their political participation; ... • 4. Passion And Love In KillingsAndA Rose For Emily These two short stories delve on the theme of passion, crime and morality. The violence committed in both stories is deployed with the threat of love and with the longing for love as well. Killings portrays a father s love to his child and the desire to avenge his death. However, the own crime he has committed led to self destruction and some sort of self murder. The character is in ironic position since he was confronted with the ardent desire to revenge and the guilt that came with it. Anger and righteousness can be sympathetically felt with the character. Similarly, A Rose for Emily portrays love as the root cause of the crime. In this story, the father suppressed his daughter s womanlife which eventually led to her killing her lover to find eternal love. The two stories are the same in some aspect in terms of the theme which revolves on passion and crime. However, the character differs greatly on the impact of the crime committed by them. In Killings, the character felt guilt and a sort of self death. The character in A rose for Emily on the other hand, died with no remorse for what she committed. The story of Killings by Andre Dubus centers on the theme of vengeance. The lead character, Matt Fowler, plotted revenge on the young man who killed his son. The act of killing was more of a private vengeance rather than an act of protection. However, Matt Fowler s act was even motivated by the desire to protect his wife who suffered tremendously just by seeing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. How Technology Has Continuously Improved Computer Hardware... Since the computer was invented the evolution of technology has grown into culture and has been the central of communication since the early 1980s. In order to understand the meaning of encryption and why it is so important, you have to understand why the computer was created and how inventors have continuously improved computerhardware devices. The computer was first invented to calculate numbers and help scientists with different mathematical equations. Then during the world war I, and world war II, Germans were using these computers to encrypt messages over morse code and complicated algorithms. However these algorithms of encryption were easily cracked by United States cryptographers. Over the war many encrypted messages were broken and the German military lost substations, overall control of the war; and eventually surrendering. Safe to say that encryption devices has been a necessity for transmitting data securely and in today s society personal containment (Crayton Culp, n.d.). Over the next five decades inventors, of all nationalities, have worked to improve encryption hardware devices from the internal architecture, removable storages, networking devices, and the overall networking security module. Encryption has different meanings depending on what you context you are using it in, but for the cyber context is means to convert electronic data into another form, called cipher text, which cannot be easily understood by anyone except authorized parties (Rouse, ... In 1971, the voting age was lowered from 21 to 18 simply because that is the age you can join the military. • 15. William Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale can be viewed as a tragicomedy that draws upon elements of As You Like It and Othello. Similar themes of trust, love, treachery, infidelity and tyranny are found throughout all three plays. While The Winter s Tale and As You Like It share similar happy endings, Othello shares more concepts with The Winter s Tale, but ends with a much more tragic ending. Both Leontes and Othellohave severe trust issues and accuse their wives of having affairs. In these plays, both kings end up being incorrect and therefore produce really dramatic story lines. As You Like It is a play which encompasses themes of love and issues of brotherhood and violation of primogeniture. The conflicts raised at the beginning of the play are resolved at the end of the play just like in The Winter s Tale. • 25. Adolescent Behavior And Abusive Situations Abstract An estimated 20 people per minute in the United States are abused by an intimate partner each year (Breiding et al., 2014). Many reasons have been identified that prevent women from leaving and remaining out of abusive relationships. Such factors include economic, religious, cultural, and psychological (.e.g. fear, learned helplessness, self esteem). Yet, there has been very limited research that examines the neurocognitive issues that influences a woman s decision return to abusive situations, despite opportunities and resources to leave. The following study will explore possible implications of addictive behavior towards abusive situations in battered women due to neurocognitive dysfunction. We hypothesized that battered women will present with decision making impairment similar to persons with substance dependency and other addictions. Findings will shed light on the need to develop more comprehensive prevention and intervention measures to decrease the number of women who return to abusive situations. If the room you are using for a living room is smaller, you may want to think of connecting it to another room, such as a kitchen or a hall. Removing a partition wall will make the interior more spacious, and neighboring rooms will not suffer. The living room should not be larger than 40 square meters, because the large space will not be cozy. Division of the living room into zones Not every room has a square shape. Cultural contact in history has always played a large role in introducing religion, technology and social change. Warfare in particular is an area where contact between different cultures has led to rapid changes in the understanding and conduct of war. Changes that take place as a result of contact are often unprecedented and subtle to the nations involved. The past can show that the influence cultural contact had on developing warfare and how the effect was not necessarily unidirectional. Alexander s campaign across the ancient world is filled with examples of army diversity as a result of cultural... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Punic Wars introduced Rome to the importance of naval dominance and to mercenary armies. Rome had struggled in naval conflicts and it was not there was a demand to defeat the Carthaginian at sea and this was reflected in better trained sailors and technology such as the grappling engine. The use of the corvus, an assault bridge used on Roman ship which anchored forced boarding onto enemy ships is an example of the technological advancements that was introduced. The effect the corvus had on Roman naval tactics was profound as it allowed the early Roman marines to fight in close combat and compete on a level ground against strong naval opponents. This was a vital for the Romans in a time when their mastery of infantry warfare was more advanced than their naval tactics during the conflict. In addition this conflict as a form of cultural contact made the Roman accept the need to expand their navy, and this was achieved within two months as mass production led to the commission of over a hundred warships to be constructed within that timeframe. As explored earlier with the Greeks, the Romans adopted new technology and tactics for conducting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. A Short Note On Chronic And Chronic Illness Ms. Jones has a both acute and chronic illness which makes her situation more complex. The acute conditions have a great potential to be reversed; she has a critical hemoglobin (Hgb) level of 6.4 g/dl, a major infection and a left gangrenous extremity that requires emergent care. Treatment of the acute condition may be complicated by her chronic condition of diabetes. Immediate care is required to avoid the spread of the infection and a further decline in her Hgb level which could result in a fatality. Stabilization of her Hgb level and starting intravenous antibiotic therapy is necessary to avoid harm; decreasing her chance of cardiac arrest and systemic infection which would increase the likelihood of success in her case. This scenario does not mention her blood glucose (BG) level but another way harm can be avoided is by assuring her BG level is within an acceptable range, as well. Therefore, admitting her to a medical surgical unit to stabilize her Hgb and BG may be necessary prior to surgery. Although her anemia could be a result of her infection the practitioner should make an effort to determine the cause of her low Hgb levels to avoid further complications and develop future treatment plans. However, medical care would not be indicated, if Ms. Jones continues to refuse blood transfusions. Therefore, more of a palliative or hospice care path may be indicated versus medical and surgical acute care. According to our text, Ms. Jones has not had a mini mental ... And America would probably be what everyone believes, but it has a very serious problem that could eventually destroy the country as whole. America is built upon Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but it has a strong equalityissue that has to be taken care of. Equality is a social contract in America and unfortunately it is a broken one. A social contract is an agreement amongst the members of a society, but equality is a serious issue. Equality poses the biggest problem to America simply because in any country the people make the country, and if the people can t get along either internal conflicts occur, or people eventually leave. Throughout America everyone regardless of race, color, or sexual orientation has experienced inequality in some part of America. Words are exchanged, fists are thrown, and in serious cases lives are lost because people are racists to one another. Equality is a broken social contract in America that will eventually be its demise if not attended to. There are countless instances of of inequality in America, there is inequality against those who are black, hispanics, people who are apart of or support the LGBTgroup, and even women. • 45. Stronger Kanye West Analysis In his Grammy award winning song Stronger, voice of our generation Kanye West eloquently raps I know I got to be right now, cause I can t get much wronger. Though his statement in context refers to his longing for love, it can be interpreted in a way that emphasizes a blind assumption of correctness. In his words, West speaks in a contradictory fashion, in that he, as a person, cannot get much wronger, so he must be right. In doing this, West blurs the line between socially constructed definitions of right and wrong, raising the question, are humans truly capable of being able to differ between these two concepts? Related to the ideas posed by Stronger, Don DeLillo s White Noise delves into this sort of moral ambiguity, a gray... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Acting on Murray s idea that killing could be a solution to alleviate the fear of death, Gladney decides to kill Willie Mink, distributor of Babette s Dylar, thinking to himself while on the way, transient pleasures, drastic measures (290). Acting on his fear of death, Gladney seems to be cognizant of his plans, able to discern the drastic moral implications of them; he consciously chooses to go with them, also seeing them as a transient pleasure, something that can temporarily alleviate his fear. The order of the phrase itself reflects Gladney s internal moral conflict, as it quickly switches from a tone of brief happiness to one of desperation, emphasizing how even he is unsure about how he truly feels. In portraying Gladney in this situation as paradoxically introspective, DeLillo criticizes the obsession with the concept of death, emphasizing the fact that Gladney is willing to breach moral extremes in order to satisfy his own perceived fear. This willingness to do literally anything in order to satisfy an obsession with the abstract is an inherently ridiculous concept, primarily because of the irrationality of doing so. After shooting Mink and being shot back at, Gladney looks at him in a new light, with the restoration of the normal order... I felt I was seeing him for the first time as a person (299). Even though he had shot Mink just moments before, Gladney suddenly assumes an uncharacteristically benevolent personality. Unable to even keep in check his feelings and emotions, Gladney is under the assumption that everything is back to normal, where he believes he can finally see Mink as a person. • 46. Complications, Complication Rates, And 90 Day Readmission... Abstract With the recent focus on dramatic cuts and escalating healthcare costs in the United States, a new center of attention has been placed upon postoperative readmission and reimbursement. Although sacral fractures constitute a large component of all pelvic fractures, there is relatively little data investigating differences in the postoperative length of stay (LOS), the complication rates, and the 90 day readmissions for these patients. The purpose of this paper was to investigate differences in postoperative length of stay, complication rates, and 90 day readmission rates for patients with operative isolated sacral fractures. This significant difference in LOS between ORIF vs. percutaneous fixation of sacral injuries leading to an average difference of $13,590 in average inpatient cost highlights predicative information to potentially reduce perioperative costs related to sacral fractures for orthopaedic surgeons. INTRODUCTION 45% of all pelvic fractures are sacral injuries [1]. They can occur in high energy collisions, with motor vehicle accidents making up 57% of these crush injuries [2]. Traumatic force can lead to compression, which then precipitates neurological complications [3]. For this reason, these fractures are musculoskeletal injuries requiring emergent action at trauma centers to reduce the risk of complications. While open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) methods permits direct visualization of the injured pelvis, there are highly variable wound complication rates ranging from 3.9% to 27% [4]. Critics of ORIF are concerned about the extremely high risk of infection post operatively, which can increase from 18% to 27% for fractures treated early and late, respectively [5]. It is reasonable to consider a more minimally invasive technique such as percutaneous fixation, which uses screws to mechanically stabilize an unstable sacrum [6]. Percutaneous fixation with iliosacral screws, for example, have led to decreases in surgical time, exposure related hazards, and soft tissue disruption [7]. With the recent focus on dramatic cuts and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Speech On Learner Centred Pedagogy Learner centred pedagogy We have been talking about child centred or learner centred pedagogy for the past well over 16 years; but even today our classroom practices mostly remain what they were 25 years ago. Large over crowded classes, ill trained and untrained teachers, poorly equipped classrooms, single teacher schools, and multi grade teaching is some of the stark realities that severely restrict the use of learner centred pedagogy. It is high time that we switch over from teacher centred education to learner centred teaching and learning. Teachers need to be trained and facilitated to handle learner centred pedagogy. Inclusive education Another central concern of teacher education relates to what is known as inclusive or integrated education. Inclusive/integrated education should cover not only children with mild disabilities (who are educable ), but also street children, children from remote and nomadic populations, and children from other disadvantaged and marginalised areas or groups. • 48. Literary Analysis Of A Worn Path By Eudora Welty A Worn Path Literary Analysis A Worn Path is a short story written by Eudora Welty that describes the trail Phoenix Jackson, an elderly African American lady, takes in order to reach a certain town during a festive holiday. Due to the imagery and terminology used to describe Phoenix such as, [...] an old Negro woman [...] (Welty, 221), it can be assumed that the story takes place during Christmas time in the rural countryside of the southern US, and presumably around the 1940 s. Nonetheless, Phoenix Jackson, the protagonist of this story, is guided through a mysterious path of natural dangers in an utmost forlorn disposition with a limited omniscient point of view. Furthermore, the third person narration with a limited omniscience that is exclusive to Phoenix herself tells about her experiences of the path and impressions she has upon strangers and people. Such was observed when the author denoted, Finally, trembling all over, she stood free, and after a moment dared to stoop for her cane. Sun so high! she cried, leaning back and looking, while the thick tears went over her eyes. The time getting all gone here (Welty, 222) The way the author described Phoenix s actions, and how she, for the most part, spoke her thoughts out loud in a stream of consciousness form, allowed the reader to only be able to comprehend her impressions. Such descriptions and characterizations are not seen within other characters throughout the story. This settles the direct basis for a limited omniscient point of view because the reader, through the perspective of an eagle that observes Phoenix, is able to view life and the dangers along the way through her eyes and not through the perspectives of secondary characters such as the white hunter or nurse. In addition, another important literary aspect detected in Welty s work is voice. Voice, in this case, served the generous purpose of giving vitality to Phoenix s character. Such can be noted in her colloquial and casual form of language as seen in dialogue like, who be you the ghost of? [...] My senses is gone. I too old. I the oldest people I ever know (Welty, 223). Bushcraft Vs Survival Research Paper THE INTRODUCTION In many blogs and Youtube videos that I ve seen, there are countless of discussions about bushcraft vs survival (craft), what do they mean and what are the differences between them? It s true that there are undeniable similarities about them because they tend to involve the wilderness and the outdoors, shelter, fire, water, etc. However, in fact the two things are quite different. In this post I d like to briefly talk about what each one is, how they differ from each other and why it s important to understand the differences. Keep in mind that these are my opinions and you may or may not agree, it s all good. Mean while Bushcraft is defined as: Skill in anything pertaining in bush country. Ability and experience in matters concerns with living in the bush. I tend to break it down like this: A survival situation is any kind of events (usually short term, about 72 hours or less, though some can go much longer) that required you to take action to save your life or other s life. The main goal here is not only just survival but to return home, either through rescue and search team or your own navigational ability. Bushcraft is completely different, where it implies a long term strategy and unnecessarily an unexpected circumstance or an instant danger to life. People into bushcraft often go into wilderness intentionally with minimal amount of gears to test their abilities and horn their skills, not to survive but to exist and thrive in the nature. So basically in survival (craft), you stuck in the wilderness and try to find your way back to civilization while in bushcraft, you use your refined skills to make comfort out of the situation. Her body was found by people who were riding atv s behind the bowling alley in a wooded area. Her skull was fractured as she suffered blunt force trauma which induced her death. The Home Depot was sincere enough to leave a space where a memorial lies for Katrina where her body was found. In this play, the protagonist, Pharus Jonathan Young, is a young African American boy who struggles with his sexuality as well as the treatment he receives for being more effeminate than his fellow classmates. However, there is the fact that as Pharus sings at the very beginning of the play, there are homophobic slurs being thrown his way, demonstrating the hostile environment that he would most likely be facing at his school, not just because he is gay, but also because of the faith that those boys had as well as the stereotyping of black males masculinity. As the play goes on, Pharus grows as a character and becomes more aware and more comfortable in his own skin as well as making his classmates see that just because he is a homosexual does not mean that should be treated any differently than the rest. As a matter of fact, in a portion of the play that takes place in the boy s locker room, the five young men all come out and sing Motherless Child, which in turn united the group of boys without much of an effort, except that they were finally able to see their similarities rather than their differences and in a much more soothing, calmed, and honest form of communication than the fights and constant bullying. Esperanza is a thirteen year old child that has been faced with more tragic events from the age of nine to thirteen than some may experience their whole life time. Her character is very smart, determined, and compassionate just like some of the kids you may know. The author does a great job with allowing the reader to get inside Esperanza s head to understand her thinking and logic. The author uses Esperanza life to encourage children who may be going through some of the same experience, that they could make it through to. Although Esperanza is just a normal kid trying to have fun, the constant tragic events in her life forces her to mature instantly becoming a strong young adult. This paper will discuss how Esperanza grew up and some of Esperanza reactions that shows her growth in maturity, while exploring some of the conflicts Esperanza experienced that causes her to change her thinking. First, the book starts off telling the story of how Esperanza grew up in a loving wealthy family who owned El Rancho de las Rosas in Aguascalientes, Mexico. She was surrounded by generations of family members who loved her. The family had lots of servants who worked for them during the grape harvest season and they also helped them with everything else during the off season. Esperanza was a young girl who really didn t understand poverty and was known to have a snobbish attitude at times when she was little because of her family s wealth. She was surrounded by families that were just as wealthy as her own so poverty was not a norm in their community. There are many examples of her snobby ways in the beginning of book like when she first boarded a train in Mexico and realizes that she and her friend definitely wouldn t be traveling first class. Her reaction to this was basically like: You expect me to travel coach?! Yeah right. It was evident Esperanza did not use to a present lifestyle.
