Summer Promise Is Not Just An Ordinary Teenage Book
Summer Promise is not just an ordinary teenage book, but a novel where anyone can learn about God
and how he helps you pull through the bad circumstances and makes the best of the great ones. Christy
Miller, native of Wisconsin and 14 years old, moves to California with her Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob.
Christy lived on a farm, so she had no idea of the luxuries someone could have like clothes, relaxing
on the beach, makeup, and beauty, but her aunt made sure that she learned the amenities of a teenager.
Christy met her first love, named Todd, and he was different than all of the other surfers. Todd
believed in Christ, and that God was the person who controlled his life. Throughout Christy and Todd
s journey, Christy learns about God, why he is important, and that she should give her life to him. She
meets incredible people on the way, who show her the light. Summer Promise exemplifies how people
should always put God first and displays a sweet, innocent teenage love. Christy Miller, Aunt Marti,
Uncle Bob, and Todd star in this Summer Promise book. Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob take Christy into
their home in California for the summer, showing her the new pros of the sun kissed state and its
people. Aunt Marti helps Christy discover herself and who she is by giving her a whole new
makeover, with new clothes, beauty supplies, etc. Without Aunt Marti, Christy would not have found
herself or met Todd, her crush. Uncle Bob is the father figure for Christy, always talking to her

Islamic Religion Of Islam And Islam
Peace, Purity, Submission and Obedience; these four words establish the fundamental explanation of
the word Islam. A deep study of Islamic teachings and thought reveals that Islam is a religion of peace,
security and protection; the true believers in the sight of God and His Messenger are those who
embody those qualities. The dominant religion of Islam has been the center of much attention and
controversy in today s civilization. The Western perspective subjugates Islam and the Muslim
counterparts as violent, aggressive, deviant and terroristic; all of which have no factual significance to
the religion of Islam and the teachings of the scriptures of the Holy Quran. However, growing
incidences of suicide terrorism in Islamic civilizations bestow this stereotypical belief of the Islamic
religion connectedness to suicide terrorism. Hence, this depiction falsifies a true representation of
Islam and the teachings of the Quran but perhaps has become the dominant ideology of Western
Culture to instill fear, moral panic and demonize the religion of Islam in the creation of modern day
Islamaphobia. The correlation of Islam and suicide terrorism is not an accurate representation of the
teachings of the Quran and hadiths but rather a stereotypical misconception by preconceived Western
ideologies. First, the teachings of Islam in regards to suicide terrorism and Jihad as elucidated in the
Quran will be explored to establish the relation of suicide and Islam. Further, the Western

Coordinate transformation
In rare case may be done a numerical solution in a Cartesian coordinate system.
For numerical simulations is used usually a curve coordinate system. In order to prevent of geometric
errors in solutions in finite volume methods, is necessary to the precise determinationof Surface
vector. As an example of an airfoilwhich can be describedwith difficulty the curve of airfoil by
Cartesian grid point and points lie within the airfoil. Figure 1.2) grid system
Therefore it is better to select a curve coordinate system. As is shown in figure1 2.
Due to this coordinate transformation increase indeed complexity of equation with respect to Cartesian
form but has many advantageous like improvement of efficient and accuracy in numerical method.
In the transformation from the physical domain to the computational domain, a one to
onetransformation is assumed. That is, a point in thephysical domain, say point A, corresponds to
oneand only one point in the computational domain, point B, and vice versa. Figure 2.2) Grid
configuration in physical domain (left) and computational domain (right)
Due to the transformation the transition from a curvilinear non orthogonal physical domain is carried
out on an orthogonal computational domain (Figure2 2).
Almost infinitely complex body boundaries in physical space are converted to rectangular plane in the
computational space.

August 24th, 1814, should be one of the shameful dates that Americans are not willing to recall. On
that date, British army finally entered Washington and set fire to the White House, Capitol and other
government buildings after they had enjoyed the meal of President and seized all the treasures left.
According to many historical documents, even people lived in Baltimore, which is more than 40 miles
away, could see the fire at that time. And naturally, President Madison and many other government
officials escaped to Virginia on the panic. There is no doubt that it is quite a shame that the capital was
invaded by other countries, and several government buildings were burnt. But it seems strange that the
British army invaded Washington after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

fleeing, and or it would have become ashes. Interestingly, the order received by the commander of the
British army was not to attack, but he decided to ignore the order (Bush, 2014). As described at the
beginning, Major General Robert Ross and his army entered Washington but found no government
representative there, and soon they started to set fire. But it is worth mentioning that as the British
army said, which is that they were retaliating for what the American army did to Canada, generally,
the fire only burnt government buildings and affected very few residences (Graves,

Stewardship ministry: Along with many other ministries Stewardship ministry is also a pastoral
ministry because it is a discipleship ministry not just the ministry about money. Unfortunately unless
the pastors are intentionally teaching about it is very confusing to understand the role of this ministry.
Jackie Scott stepped down from this ministry. Currently we do not have a chair for this ministry. Mark
Snider is a synod representative at synod level for this ministry. I will be gathering a team for this
ministry prayerfully. The council also should be aware of the discipleship of the ministry. You will be
receiving series of study from me by e mail. Please take time to read and pray.
At one point in future, I would like to propose a continuing resolution to call the name of this ministry

The Book Of Red By Anne Carson
When people reach a certain age they start finding a place in the world that fits them the best. Kids
start associating themselves with people just like them or similar to them. However sometimes those
people are not around growing up or the kids have yet to reach their true self. In the book
Autobiography of Red by Anne Carson, the protagonist Geryon, is a unique type of person that is
trying to do just that. Geryon is a red, winged dragon; throughout the book he learns more about
himself and how to become his authentic self. While it may seem easy for the readers to identify
Geryon as a red winged mythical beast, he himself does not know who he is and works through a hard
life looking for the answer to that question. Geryon grows and reaches his authentic identity by
dealing with old flame Herakles, meeting teachers who help him along the way, and learning from
Ancash a new perspective of himself.
Growing up Geryon did not have an easy life, however he met a person that made his life worth living,
Herakles. Herakles is the new guy in the town and he and Geryon immediately become fast friends,
then something more, His voice had an edge. He liked to see Geryon happy implying Herakles s want
for Geryon to be happy (Carson 53). Geryon and Herakles have an interesting relationship because
Herakles is the first to pay close attention to Geryon, and show him he really does care. Geryon never
had that kind of affection so he goes into the relationship headfirst. With

The Motif of Poverty Throughout Crime and Punishment by...
Poverty is an essential motif in Crime and Punishment that enables characters to expose their isolation
from society. Raskolnikov demonstrates the true effect that poverty can have on an unemployed man
in the 1860s. Razumikhin is seen as Raskolnikov s foil character that reacts to his form of poverty in
the opposite way of Raskolnikov towards society. The weight of being desperately pour effects
Marmeledov to extensive lengths that ultimately ends in his death.
Crime and Punishment revolves around Raskolnikov and his amplifying guilt after he murders the
pawnbroker, Alyona. From the beginning of the novel his poverty is displayed in his living condition,
which is further described by the yellowish dusty wall paper peeling off the ... Show more content on

It shall not be, so long as I am alive, it shall not, it shall not! I won t accept it! (Part 1. 4.). Raskolnikov
begins to alienate himself from his ex colleague, Razumikhin, although at points it is Razumikhin who
supports Raskolnikov the most. It forces Razumikhin to replace Raskolnikov in situations that should
have been left to his authority. In a situation where Raskolnikov should have reassured Dounia and
Pulcheria of their safety he waved his hand weakly to Razumikhin to cut short the flow of warm and
incoherent consolations he was addressing to his mother and sister (Part 3. 1). As Raskolnikov began
to slowly move away from any form of comfortable socialization and a growing poverty situation, his
stubbornness to contain his pride and dignity eventually builds up to the brutal murder of Alyona.
Razumikhin is in a similar financial situation as Raskolnikov. Razumikhin foils Raskolnikov in his
response to a desperate situation such as struggling poverty. He faced his struggles with a trial and
error personality. His view stood that you never reach any truth without making fourteen mistakes and
very likely a hundred and fourteen (Part 3. 1). It was in these positive outlooks that make Raskolnikov
realize how intense his isolation was becoming.

Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one s mind simultaneously, and

Essay about Hip Hop
Hip hop is known as a culture movement. Hip hop is a pleasing art form, formed by African
Americans and Latinos in the late seventies. Its formation derives from a young generation of African
Americans in South Bronx, New York. They created a beautiful, complimentary expression of melody,
skill and dance from an environment of poverty. Ever since it has encouraged people from all across
the world. Hip hop is discussed as an art form and not just flowing, it typically is meant to include the
four essentials: DJing, MCing, graffiti writing, and break dancing. Hip Hop helped renew the identity

Hip hop has influences on other type of music also, from blues to rock and roll. The youth of this
generation see hip hop like what the older generation see blues. An essential to hip hop is graffiti
writing. Before hip hop it was used as a political expression for different gangs. Now, many people
use it as a way to bring their words to life. It carries meaning and expression of thoughts and ideas. It
holds feeling and energy. It holds a strength and assortment that not just the artist can see. It carries
independence, motive and inspiration. Not everyone can understand what it beholds. It contains
beauty and grace. Lyrical poets use it to state ideas, no matter the cost of conveying them. Graffiti was
around since existence of human and thousands of years before written languages urbanized. The
natives used their environment as a canvas for expression. Artists use a wall as a canvas. It doesn t
even require a museum to see it; all you have to do is wander about the city to discover the building s
walls. Graffiti artists are the Picassos of hip hop culture. They depict a language, an image, a voice
and a vision. The artist is free. The message can be seen by anyone. You can locate numerous graffiti

Good By Heart Research Paper
Good by Heart or by Reward?
Is the definition of a good citizen one that needs to be forced to do such actions? I believe that defeats
the purpose of what it means to dedicate your time to others and be truly altruistic. What does it mean
to genuinely give your time to others? It does not mean that one gives away something as precious as
the time we are given because they have been incentivised to do so.
In today s modern society many students in preparatory school such as high schools and junior high
schools are now requiring students to do donate their time to volunteer work or community service.
These preparatory schools are doing this now in hopes that it helps prepare the young adults for the

This is not to be taken wrong, the idea of getting people more involved in community service is a step
in the right direction with many good intentions but has been delivered wrong. Forcing of an activity
that is supposed to be voluntary could have more negative effects than it can positive, such as a dislike
that is grown due to the fact that the activity is forced and this leads to a less likelihood of
participating thus causing a negative association. And this grows and nationwide countries that require
this new criteria will have built a community on fake interest instead of genuine care. Society wants to
move away from that but we can not do such a thing if we must have an forced or incentivised
volunteering thus at that point the cultivation of a fake society doing what outwardly is correct and can
help us grow as a society is nothing but a false action where individuals are after their own gain rather
than helping one

Brisket Persuasive Speech
With all other foods, there s a right way and a wrong way. With brisket, there s only my way.
Psychotherapist and top brisket maker Phyllis Cohen. Those are some good words to sum up brisket,
because everyone thinks the way do it is the way. In my family smoking is a tradition, we ve been
doing it for about 5 years me and my dad but we do have a little history in it. We use a great blend of
savory spice to make the brisket have the best flavor it can possibly have. But the most important start
to the whole process is selecting the right brisket. A good brisket should have a nice fat cap in the top,
and should have a very good marble to the meat. If not your brisket will be as dry as a shoes leather.
After selecting the most prime brisket it s time to get down to my favorite part. It s prep time, this is
even more key than selecting the brisket. What you need to do now is take the fat cap that is about ½
inch thick and cut that down to roughly ¼ to and ⅛ inch. But this is all dependent on your liking and
what you think. Now that you have trimmed up the fat cap you need to move on the the deckle. The
deckle is a thick layer of fat that runs between the point and the flat. This will not render with a little
trimming up, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

very large peice of meat, but does not need a huge layer of seasoning. The Bynum s Brisket blend

paprika, and other secret spices. Generously apply but then rub the access seasoning off and allow
brisket to chill for 1 hour to let the meat rest. Then before letting it rest inject with beef broth. After
that you are ready to select your wood. For beef a nice tight bark hickory and maybe a little sprig of
cherry wood here and there will make the meat taste the best it can

The Influence Of Deception In Raven Black
Deception is the action of betraying and letting someone down. Sometimes individuals are so caught
up in the moment that they do not think about the consequences of their actions. In the novel Raven
Black, deception is shown throughout the story by a murder, mystery of a missing girl, and a kidnap.
The thriller Raven Black, by Ann Cleeves, takes place during the dark cold winter in January, in the
Shetland Islands. In the novel, every character reveals a different mindset by their actions and
thoughts. In the article, Fixed vs. Growth: The Two Basic Mindsets That Shape Our Lives, Maria
Popova talks about how every individual has a different mindset. Someone with a fixed mindset
assumes that they cannot change for the better and their intelligence or qualities are fixed traits. On the
contrary, someone with a growth mindset enjoys a challenge, they believe they can learn from their
mistakes and most importantly they know there is always room for improvement. In Raven Black,
Inspector Jimmy Perez, Magnus Tait and Sally Henry show whether they have a fixed or growth
mindset, which result in how they act and think throughout the novel. Inspector Jimmy Perez is a
diligent and clever detective who does not settle for the first clue he notices in an investigation. In the
novel Raven Black, by Ann Cleeves Inspector Perez shows he has a growth mindset, by having an
open mind and not blaming Magnus Tait for the murder of Catherine Ross. He takes into consideration
that he cannot be

A Brief Note On Utility Based Automation System
Abstract: Utility based automation system is a scalable system that works independently based on
automated sensor inputs. Upon completion, it will be able to detect movement, temperature,
luminosity etc. and respond with corresponding output. The proposed system comprises of two main
parts: first, the web app, which can be used to control the hardware components such as the movement
of the doors and windows, the intensity of lights, control AC temperature, etc. Through this, the users
can locally or remotely control the security of their house and various other utilities. Second part is the
hardware interface module, which provides the appropriate interface to actuators and sensors of the
automation system. Opposed to many other home automation systems available, this system is
scalable in the way that many hardware interface modules can be added and controlled using the web
app. System will be able to support wide range of necessary residential facilities such as security and
power management.

Father And Mother In Aria Beth Sloss s North
(P1) In Aria Beth Sloss short story, North, the narrative is told from the perspective of a child as
he/she talks about his/her parents. The narrator opens the piece by telling the reader that his/her father,
Thomas, was an explorer who left for an expedition and was never heard from again (Sloss 2). The
narrative then continues into a description of the relationship between the father and mother. The
mother, Mary, was considered a wild woman (Sloss 5) growing up. Her family had concerns that she
was unsuitable for any man. Upon meeting each other, the narrator s mother and father found common
ground in that they both loved adventure and had a habit of disappearing (Sloss 5). As the story
progresses into the couple s married life, the father is described to be a man in love (Sloss 7) with the
wilderness like a schoolboy (Sloss 7). He cannot be home from expeditions long without getting
restless. As days pass, the father spends his time planning his next adventure, a hot air balloon ride to
the Arctic, something that he claims will write his name beside Darwin s in the history books (Sloss

Examples Of Suffering In Night By Elie Wiesel
For the dead and the living we must bear witness (Elie Wiesel). In the novel Night by Elie Wiesel, it
describes the hardships people had to endure throughout World War II, and how suffering brings out
the worst in people. No one is immune to corruption brought upon them from suffering. The Jews,
including Elie, along with the Nazi officials all seem to suffer both physically and mentally. Put ting
these groups together creates a lethal combination of mental instability which shows the innate flaw in
human nature. Most notably, the jews suffering in the camps had a very big impact on many of them
throughout the war. When one of the inmate mentions: I have more faith in Hitler than in anyone else

When Elie is ordered to go on a march, he and others witness a youth about his similar age being hung
for stealing food. I remember that on that evening the soup tasted better than ever (Wiesel 63). This
indicates that Elie had shown no emotion towards the event, and in turn was happy that he was able to
eat the soup, even if it was at the expense of another individual. Additionally, as Elie s father is dying
towards the end of the novel, Elie shows no empathy towards him as he is being beaten by the Nazi SS
Official. I heard his voice...yet I did not move (Wiesel xi). Elie later regrets this terrible event
however, but this just suggests how he was corrupted at that time after seeing all those people suffer
and not do anything about. It then ultimately it happened to his father, and he did not do anything
about it. Moreover, Elie is very religious at the beginning of the story, and is eager to learn more about
the Jewish religion. However, as the book progresses, he begins to lose faith in his own God. After
seeing all these terrible horrors, he exclaims, For God s sake, where is God? (Wiesel 65). This
statement clearly validates that as he watches all this abomination take place, he wonders where God

Gender Roles In STEM
Over the course of history, advances made by women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and

been forced into gender roles over the course of history. Women with ambition to build, create, and
discover have been discouraged from following their passions and are instead told to focus on raising
their children. This discrimination has hurt the overall progress in scientific communities as it has
limited women in the resources available to them and has forced them to work in the shadows. Yet
there has still been great progress in STEM made by women. Over the past ... Show more content on

Many women end up surrounded by male peers with no one to relate to in their coursework. Women
may find themselves isolated in their classes and unable to find academic organizations on campus
that support women majoring in STEM. Being unrepresented in STEM academia and having a limited
amount of peers to relate to leads to discouragement. Women also face harsher criticism due to male
bias within the STEM communities. This criticism comes not only from their male peers, but from
administrative staff at institutions as well. One study shows that many woman applying for STEM
related scholarships have had to be up to 2.5 times more productive than men to be considered equally
competent (Barres, 386). This is again due to the gender stereotypes that have become imbedded
within society. This bias also means women pursuing STEM degrees are put at a disadvantage in
regards to selective processes for internships and academic clubs. By constantly having to prove
themselves and repeatedly being discouraged by their environment, women studying STEM have a
much harder time than men staying motivated in their courses. This of course leads to lower grades
and a greater likelihood of dropping out of their programs. It is also safe to assume that creating an
environment that causes women to constantly doubt themselves will have a negative impact on their
academic performance; any student male or female must believe in themselves to be able to

Lucy In Search Of Human Origin
In Search of Human Origins, a film based on the findings of a three million year old female skeleton,
that lived near the lake of an African forest. However, Lucy was the given name when she was
discovered by anthropologist Donald Johanson in Ethiopia many decades ago. Primarily identified as
A. afarensis. Lucy, a remarkable piece of treasure portrayed a characteristic of having the ability to
walk upright and the capability to lock her knee joints, thus, allowing her to be listed as a vital starting
point of the transition between humans and animals. Though, the story of Lucy is an interesting one,
as she is said to be the missing link between humans and apes, essentially, allowing individuals to get
a key understanding of the earliest common human ancestor. As Johanson set out on a journey through
the Great Rift Valley of Africa, he and his team gathered years of essential evidence that helped tie
together the history of human origins known to be the first family.
Originating in Africa, the history of early human beings can be traced to nearly 1.9 million years ago
with the species Homo erectus; which were described to have a large body, a thick skull, a strong jaw,

Foreign Trade And Foreign Investment
The economy in China has always been inspiring to me, how this country made all of this civilization
and how this country used its economy to overcome the barriers which it faced by used lots of
methods. One of these method is the Exchange Rate Issue in general is the low value of your currency
to increase the investments and therefore, will increase the rate of employment. So, an important
determinant of foreign trade and foreign investment is the exchange rate. A low value of Chinese
RMB makes Chinese exports cheaper and investment in China more attractive if the investment is to
produce for export. Many countries in the world including those in the European Union, Japan and
Taiwan, have adopted the flexible exchange rate system while China adopted a fixed exchange rate up
to July 2005 but the government did change the fixed rate several times in the 1980s and early 1990s
relative to the US dollar as its government deemed appropriate. Most recently the Chinese government
has adopted a managed floating rate with the government deciding the rate around a small band daily
relative to the value of a basket of foreign currencies but the basket is not explicitly specified. There
are pros and cons of the fixed and the floating exchange rate systems. (See the Appendix for a more
detailed discussion.) A fixed exchange provides an anchor for the government in the conduct of its
monetary and fiscal policy. It limits the discretionary power of the government in the exercise of its

Creator In Frankenstein
What is the relationship and the responsibility between creator and the created? In the novel
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, this is the question proposed throughout the entirety of the story. In the
story, there are many references and comparisons to God, Adam, and Lucifer. Adam being God s
perfect creation and Lucifer being the exiled devil. The relationship between the creator and the
created should be like that of God and Adam. The creator is responsible for the actions of their
creation because without the creator there would be no creation. The comparisons of Frankenstein and

Upon learning to read, the Creature read Paradise lost by John Milton. Paradise Lost, in summary, is
about the fall of Lucifer and the other rebel angels; and their plan to corrupt God s new creation,
mankind ( Paradise Lost Plot Overview). After the Creature read Paradise Lost he states that, [Adam]
had come forth from the hands of God a perfect creature, happy and prosperous, guarded by the
especial care of his Creator; he was allowed to converse with and acquire knowledge from beings of a
superior nature: but I was wretched, helpless, and alone. Many times I considered Satan as the fitter
emblem of my condition; for often, like him, when I viewed the bliss of my protectors, the bitter gall
of envy rose within me (92). Satan is the name given to Lucifer after his exile from Heaven. But the
Creature shares traits with both Satan and Adam. Like Satan, the Creature was exiled by his Creator;
but Satan was exiled because he waged war on God. Satan believed he was of equal or greater strength
than that of his creator (Milton 31). The Creature was exiled by Victor simply due to Victor s own

Prohibition Vs War on drugs Essay
The United States of America ˆs war on drugs today is very similar to America ˆs
Prohibition of Alcohol in the 1920 ˆs. These two major issues of their time may not seem like they can
be logically compared, but statistics for usage and a correlating rise in crime for both eras show a
strong relationship. There is also a tendency for an outright defiance of the laws and law makers of the
United States government in both cases. Most people today think that the prohibition of the 1920 ˆs
and the current war on drugs have many contrasting points. The opposite is true. However, the points

just one of the many problems created by Prohibition that was stupidly overlooked by the proponents
of the new law. There were many others. Gangs and the Mafia took over the streets resulting in bloody
feuds. They made massive amounts of money importing alcohol to the public. These organized crime
elements had a lot of police paid off to look the other way while they went about their business.
Smuggling liquor became a quick way to make money. Often, the liquor was homemade and very

What Is The Importance Of Life In The Military
Being in the military is a huge commitment and requires a lot of dedication. A military man must
sacrifice a lot in his life. My hat goes off to all those in the military who have laid down their lives for
our country. The life of a military depends on the job they uphold and the branch they are a part of.
The different branches are the Army, Air force, Navy, Coast guard, and Marines. One of the most
commonly thought of jobs in the Air force is being a pilot. The Air force is known own skies and
flying planes. This is one of the biggest and important jobs in the Air force. Tate, Robert F who wrote
When Doing Your Job Means Serving Your Country: An Air Force Pilot Takes Pride in the Duties
Asked of Him. Gives examples and mentions the flying aspect and what Air force pilots do that are
mentioned later in the paper. Another job in the military is an Army infantryman. When most think of
the Army they think of boots on the ground. Men fights is the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan for
freedom. This is a common job that people associate with the Army. Both jobs are very important, and
the military relies on both of them heavily to get the job done and make our country safe. The lifestyle
of an Air force pilot is very than that of and Army infantryman. Air force pilots make a little more
money. An Air force pilot is required to be an officer in the military, so this automatically raises his

the maximum amount of money to the clinic. The more patients that adhere to the appointment, the

higher adherence rates. In England alone, a 25% to 28% reduction in missed outpatient appointments

patients who verbally consented to participate in the study were randomly assigned to receive a phone

Feminists would not agree with this graph because they believe men live longer than men, women
would suggest that women are being more deprived as they are seen as the more emotional gender and
also that they are being disadvantaged because they believe that they are ruled by the men. They
believe that men get the higher jobs than women for example, men can be builders, coal miner s etc.
men are seen to have more physical hard labour jobs compared to women because women are seen to
be house wives and have less hard laboured jobs for example, cooking, cleaning and childcare. If a
man and a woman both applied to be a head teacher its more than likely that the man would get the job
because of the fact women have children and would maternity leave which is having time off work.
Although one of the reasons why women tend to live longer is because they are seen to be more health
conscious for example, if they even have a small sign of illness they tend to go to the doctors to get
medication or help to cure the illness whereas when it comes to men, they don t seek help until the
illness or disease gets really bad even when it s almost too late to cure.

Heat Related Illnesses
Return to Play Guidelines
The two return to play guidelines I feel are most important are heat exhaustion and heat stroke. While
all are very important to learn, these two are crucial as it occurs more frequently here in Phoenix,
Arizona. After an athlete has heat exhaustion, it takes about a day to two days to recover enough to get
back into sports. During this time staying hydrated and keeping cool is imperative. The athlete should
avoid alcohol or caffeine and that only further dehydrates you. Taking breaks from the heat as the
athlete gradually goes back into sports will help getting used to the heat again (Ehrlich, 2014). After
having heat exhaustion, the athlete should be more cautious and drink past thirst satiation because he

Persuasive Essay On Respect In Society
And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for

man who truly believed in the cruciality of respect within and for the nation one inhabits. A society is
not only the making up a community, but it is a factor reflecting the ideals of justice, morality, and the
overall character of every individual within the given society. Without respect, without consideration
for the greater good, there is simply no reasonable possibility of a prospering and flourishing society

During this era, agriculture dominated the economy since most of the goods that were being bought in
the United States were made in other European nations mostly England. Even though there were some
manufactures in America, the industrial sector was still small. Hamilton proposed for the government
to encourage manufacturing because he believed that manufactures would help build the economy of
the states in many ways. He believed that manufacturing would increase productivity of the states
through the use of machines. He also believed that by encouraging manufacturing it would create
more jobs for the unemployed such as women and children. In order for the economy to improve,
America had to compete with foreign imports. This caused Hamilton to come up with the idea to
impose tariffs on foreign imports making American products more competitive in the market. This
idea of manufacturing appeared to be great to some but not to others like Jefferson. Jefferson believed
that agriculture should be encouraged instead of manufacturing as seen on the picture of the Medal of

Technology In There Will Come Soft Rains By Ray Bradbury
Technology today has advanced and impacted our way of living and the dependence on it has become
a natural habit for our society. People today depend on their phones for numerous things such as,
talking, messaging, driving directions, surfing the web or even to update their current Facebook status.
Many people say that since they rely so heavily on technology, it has been known to weaken our
society s ability to open a book or newspaper to find information instead of looking at your phone.
Technology has become a crutch for our generation today and without it we would fail. There have
been inferences that technology will ruin us and lead us to extinction. In Ray Bradbury s short story
There Will Come Soft Rains , he purveys speculation that technology is the cause of downfall in
society and that nature will outlast man s creation. August 4, 2026, in Allendale, California, everything
is made easy for the family who occupy a technologically advanced home that caters to their every
need. Every morning breakfast is made, the date is announced, information is given on friends and
bills that need to be paid. Little mice clean and do the chores around the house. This all changed on
August 4th when the house becomes eerily quiet, with no family insight. The family is gone but
silhouettes of a man, woman and two small children are painted alongside the house. A nuclear
explosion wipes out the city, the town is desolate with just rubble and ashes left behind. A fire erupts

Clarification Request Strategy
Clarification: when using the clarification request strategy, the teacher basically delivers a message to
the student, indicating that there s an error in his utterance, so that the teacher s repeating is required.
When I teach English, I make extensive use of this method, because it (similar to explicit correction)
immediately signals the student that he made a mistake, and that he should correct himself. Another
reason I think this strategy works, is that it puts the student in a situation where you are indicating that
he had made a mistake, but you, as a teacher, do not explain to him what it is, but let him deal with
this question himself, and correct himself alone.
Repetition: this strategy, of repeating the student error in other intonation (usually a questioning one)
to alert the student that he made a mistake, is a significant and beneficial strategy, especially when the
amendment is made in front of the class. Humans can identify intonation, as well as the ... Show more

Ghosts And Spirits By Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
Unfinished Business:
Ghosts and Spirits
The average person may think of ghosts and spirits as something disguised in a white sheet with holes
for eyes, a ragged figure dragging chains and moaning. In addition, something floating through the air
and that can enter and exit rooms without the need to open doors. This is an example of the way
ghosts and spirits are usually described in stories or depicted in movies. It has been said that ghosts
and spirits are souls that cannot pass into the next world or dimension once they have died on earth.
Although, truth be told that all ghosts and spirits have a purpose to be able to travel through two
different worlds, life and afterlife. Ghosts and spirits proves to be a dominant symbol in the play ...

It is also not uncommon to meet former family at the time of death that delivers help to the afterlife.
All of these guides will normally always create a successful transition in and out of the world.
Pursuing this further, Elisabeth Kubler Ross describes that it is important to know that every single
human being, from the moment of birth until the moment when they make the transition and end this
physical existence, is in the presence of guides or guardian angels that will give you aid to the
transition from life after death . Basically, the psychopomp is another way to help the spirits get
through to the other side (animals, friends, former family and guardian angels). The psychopomp is a
person that is born with this talent in guiding with the transitions. It is also a skill that can be leant, the
primary function is not to reconnect the living with the dead, but to help the spirits cross over.
Angels. Guardian angels. Spirit guides.
Angels, Guardian angels and spirit guides are really the good type of ghosts, althoughthey fit more in
the description of a spirit. In the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, angels are known as God s
messengers. Common Knowledge of angels also knows that they are sent by God to watch over the
human race, to guard and protect from danger, as well as to give humans signs to excel in life.
Statistics have shown that many people believe in angels. According to a poll of American adults 96%
believe in God, 90% believe in

Comparing Symbols and Symbolism in Blue Hotel, Black Cat,...
Color Symbolism in Blue Hotel, Black Cat, Night, Alfred Prufrock, Red Wheelbarrow
Symbolism of colors is evident in much of literature. The Blue Hotel by Stephen Crane, The Black
Cat of Edgar Allan Poe, Night by William Blake, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T. S. Eliot,
and The Red Wheelbarrow by William Carlos Williams encompass examples of color symbolism from
both the prose and the poetry of literature. When drawing from various modes of psychology,
interpretations of various colors, with emphasis to dream psychology, an analysis of the colors
themselves and then their applications to literature can be readily addressed.

Blood is the energy coursing through the body and is related to blushing. Red also represents violent
emotional arousal. Red is the color of war, the Roman god Mars, and of the greatest of the Roman
gods, Jupiter. Red is the color of masculinity and activity. To the Chinese, red represents good fortune.
To the Christian, it denotes Christ s passion. (Fontana 66) Investigating more specifically dream
psychology, red may symbolize sexuality, passion, anger, revolution or danger. Red being the color of
blood, it is the symbol of life, which consequently is why Hindu and Chinese brides wear red. But,
blood may also represent injury or death. (Ackroyd 253)
Blue is the color of intellect, peace and contemplation. It represents water and serenity, and
symbolizes the sky and infinity. To the Christian, blue is the color of the Virgin as Queen of Heaven,
and denotes faith, compassion and the water used in baptism. The ancient Greeks and Romans
attributed the color blue to Venus, the goddess of love. (Fontana 66) In reference to dreams, blue
represents the collective unconscious. Alternatively, blue may represent the power of the conscious
mind, while dark blue is associated with depression. (Ackroyd 94)
Combining the power and authority of red with the sanctity and wisdom of blue, violet s focus is
amidst the most mystic of the colors. As a focus for meditation it can raise consciousness to higher
levels. Violet also denotes

The Necessity Of Careful Environmental Scanning Essay
Every successful organization uses the five management functions; but not many can compare with
the United States Armed Forces. I am currently serving in the United States Air Force and this
organization has effectively applied the five management functions, because its existence depends on
those five functions. From the initial planning to the final execution steps, we perform all five
functions in our day to day operations in flawless manners and pride ourselves in the job well done.
The Air Force is constantly engaging in the five management functions; their operations are well led,
organized, carefully planned, staffed, and constantly evaluated. I do not believe there is any
organization other than the military where you would see these five functions linking so well
coordinated. Planning
Planning is a systematic process in which managers make decisions about future activities and the key
goals that the organization will pursue. The necessity of careful environmental scanning has an
immediate impact on planning processes (Reilly, Minnick, and Baack, 2011, sec. 7.2). Making plans
for future activities is one of the Air Force s key functions; without planning its subordinate
commands would deteriorate and lose focus on mission objectives and the quality of work. In the Air
Force each career field has a different method for planning depending on the mission. I find the
planning phase in the Air Force to be very effective because it is important for employees or

Mrs Mallard Abandonment
Mrs. Mallard was effected with a heart trouble that brought and emotion connection between her
husband s death and her. Her husband died of a tragic railroad accident. I believe her heart trouble was
a broken heart because of the loss of her significant other. Her husband friend stood by her side as she
grieved over her husband s death. Mrs. Mallard felling of abandonment made me feel apologetic for
her and also a connection due to the relation of feeing a sense of sorrow. Instead of her expressing her
feeling; she choose to go to her room. Many people grieve in different ways to cope with the pain and
hurt of losing someone. Mrs. Mallard choose to isolate herself from other which is a way someone
expresses their hurt. As she locks herself

The Modern Greek Tragedy Antigone
Outspoken people are significant in bringing forth changes and ideas contributing to making a more
fair and just society. The word outspoken as defined by the dictionary is: to be frank in stating one s
opinions, especially if they are critical or controversial (Google Search). Observing history, it can be
noted that a large portion of the most influential people were the most outspoken; it can be noted that
these figures were courageous and bold. Historical figures from all different fields held a sense of
outspokenness in presenting themselves because their ideas defied prevalent ideas and societal norms
of their time. People who took a stand in their time became some of the most influential and most
prominent historical figures that craft our world today. Socrates demonstrates the significance of
outspokenness through the characters in his classical Greek tragedy Antigone. Parallel to Antigone,
historical figures in our own world exhibit courage through outspokenness. Characters from Socrates
Antigone supports the claim that bold people can bring forth change in a society. Three characters fit
the description well: Antigone, Haemon, and Tiresias. She proved courage through her refusal to abide
by Creon s cruel law against burying her own brother Polyneices. Even if Polyneices could be viewed
as a traitor, the gods laws state that burial should be one of man s most sacred duties ( Death and
Burial ). Though Haemon revealed the disbelief in Creon s law, nobody spoke

Summer Promise Is Not Just An Ordinary Teenage Book Summer Promise is not just an ordinary teenage book, but a novel where anyone can learn about God and how he helps you pull through the bad circumstances and makes the best of the great ones. Christy Miller, native of Wisconsin and 14 years old, moves to California with her Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob. • 3. Islamic Religion Of Islam And Islam Peace, Purity, Submission and Obedience; these four words establish the fundamental explanation of the word Islam. A deep study of Islamic teachings and thought reveals that Islam is a religion of peace, security and protection; the true believers in the sight of God and His Messenger are those who embody those qualities. The dominant religion of Islam has been the center of much attention and controversy in today s civilization. The Western perspective subjugates Islam and the Muslim counterparts as violent, aggressive, deviant and terroristic; all of which have no factual significance to the religion of Islam and the teachings of the scriptures of the Holy Quran. However, growing incidences of suicide terrorism in Islamic civilizations bestow this stereotypical belief of the Islamic religion connectedness to suicide terrorism. Hence, this depiction falsifies a true representation of Islam and the teachings of the Quran but perhaps has become the dominant ideology of Western Culture to instill fear, moral panic and demonize the religion of Islam in the creation of modern day Islamaphobia. The correlation of Islam and suicide terrorism is not an accurate representation of the teachings of the Quran and hadiths but rather a stereotypical misconception by preconceived Western ideologies. First, the teachings of Islam in regards to suicide terrorism and Jihad as elucidated in the Quran will be explored to establish the relation of suicide and Islam. Further, the Western ... On that date, British army finally entered Washington and set fire to the White House, Capitol and other government buildings after they had enjoyed the meal of President and seized all the treasures left. According to many historical documents, even people lived in Baltimore, which is more than 40 miles away, could see the fire at that time. Kids start associating themselves with people just like them or similar to them. However sometimes those people are not around growing up or the kids have yet to reach their true self. In the book Autobiography of Red by Anne Carson, the protagonist Geryon, is a unique type of person that is trying to do just that. Geryon is a red, winged dragon; throughout the book he learns more about himself and how to become his authentic self. While it may seem easy for the readers to identify Geryon as a red winged mythical beast, he himself does not know who he is and works through a hard life looking for the answer to that question. Geryon grows and reaches his authentic identity by dealing with old flame Herakles, meeting teachers who help him along the way, and learning from Ancash a new perspective of himself. Growing up Geryon did not have an easy life, however he met a person that made his life worth living, Herakles. Herakles is the new guy in the town and he and Geryon immediately become fast friends, then something more, His voice had an edge. He liked to see Geryon happy implying Herakles s want for Geryon to be happy (Carson 53). Gender Roles In STEM Over the course of history, advances made by women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) have been overshadowed and downplayed due to a male dominant culture in these fields. Women with ambition to build, create, and discover have been discouraged from following their passions and are instead told to focus on raising their children. Many women end up surrounded by male peers with no one to relate to in their coursework. Women may find themselves isolated in their classes and unable to find academic organizations on campus that support women majoring in STEM. Being unrepresented in STEM academia and having a limited amount of peers to relate to leads to discouragement. Women also face harsher criticism due to male bias within the STEM communities. This criticism comes not only from their male peers, but from administrative staff at institutions as well. One study shows that many woman applying for STEM related scholarships have had to be up to 2.5 times more productive than men to be considered equally competent (Barres, 386). This is again due to the gender stereotypes that have become imbedded within society. This bias also means women pursuing STEM degrees are put at a disadvantage in regards to selective processes for internships and academic clubs. By constantly having to prove themselves and repeatedly being discouraged by their environment, women studying STEM have a much harder time than men staying motivated in their courses. This of course leads to lower grades and a greater likelihood of dropping out of their programs. It is also safe to assume that creating an environment that causes women to constantly doubt themselves will have a negative impact on their academic performance; any student male or female must believe in themselves to be able to ... Foreign Trade And Foreign Investment The economy in China has always been inspiring to me, how this country made all of this civilization and how this country used its economy to overcome the barriers which it faced by used lots of methods. One of these method is the Exchange Rate Issue in general is the low value of your currency to increase the investments and therefore, will increase the rate of employment. So, an important determinant of foreign trade and foreign investment is the exchange rate. A low value of Chinese RMB makes Chinese exports cheaper and investment in China more attractive if the investment is to produce for export. Many countries in the world including those in the European Union, Japan and Taiwan, have adopted the flexible exchange rate system while China adopted a fixed exchange rate up to July 2005 but the government did change the fixed rate several times in the 1980s and early 1990s relative to the US dollar as its government deemed appropriate. Most recently the Chinese government has adopted a managed floating rate with the government deciding the rate around a small band daily relative to the value of a basket of foreign currencies but the basket is not explicitly specified. There are pros and cons of the fixed and the floating exchange rate systems. (See the Appendix for a more detailed discussion.) Clarification Request Strategy Clarification: when using the clarification request strategy, the teacher basically delivers a message to the student, indicating that there s an error in his utterance, so that the teacher s repeating is required. When I teach English, I make extensive use of this method, because it (similar to explicit correction) immediately signals the student that he made a mistake, and that he should correct himself. Another reason I think this strategy works, is that it puts the student in a situation where you are indicating that he had made a mistake, but you, as a teacher, do not explain to him what it is, but let him deal with this question himself, and correct himself alone.
