Computer Programming In Primary And Secondary Education.
Computer Programming in Primary and Secondary Education
Dylan Baiko
It is important for students to come out of grade school equipped with skills relevant to today s
society. Therefore, computer programming should be full integrated into school curriculum from
kindergarten to grade 12. Today s society is becoming more and more reliant on computer technology.
It is a tool used everywhere and it is impotent to understand how it works in our daily lives. Therefore,
computer programming is a necessary skill for everyone to have. Learning this skill is important as it
builds critical thinking and algorithmic problem solving skills. These are important life skills as they
allow people to better contribute to society. This means that anyone, ... Show more content on

This would allow schools to implement curriculums that teach computer programming and other
programs (like Microsoft Office, etc.) in parallel as students get into higher grades. A counter
argument to this would be that computers and computer programming is too complicated for students
of such a young age to learn. While it is true that programming in a professional setting involves
learning complicated programming languages and syntax, this doesn t mean it s not possible for
students in grades as early as kindergarten to learn basic programming skills. For example, various
Educational programming languages (EPLs), such as Scratch and E toys, have been developed for K
12 students . . . These EPLs use a tile scripting based on a graphic user interface as a coding method,
instead of typing text commands. This makes the instructions easy to learn and helps students reduce
syntax errors (Shim 1). Therefore, integrating computer programming into even the earliest grades in
school would be possible. Another counter argument to integrating computer programming in school
is that kids, especially young ones, tend to spend too much time on computers and other electronic
devices, and frequently spending time on computers to learn computer programming will only
encourage this. It is true that if computer programming was taught in schools, this would make it so

Arthur Miller And Elia Kazan
Relationship between Arthur Miller and Elia Kazan
I think it s a mistake to ever look for help outside of oneself Arthur Miller. This statement can be used
to describe the complicated relationship between Arthur Miller and Elia Kazan during the Red Scare.
Both Miller and Kazan were at the height of their career during this timeframe and the major focus on
communism was the start of downfall of their friendship. Miller and Kazan had friction over the
decades in both their professional lives as well as personal lives. There were many issues from the
personal issue of Marilyn Monroe to professional conflict, but society s focus on communism and
figuring out who supported the idealism was the final strain that caused irreparable damage. The red
scare was during the late 1940s and early 1950s. It was a time in history when the fear of communism
would spread throughout the United States causing widespread panic. The red scare had a dramatic
effect on every aspect of life in the United States of America from your average citizens to the
Hollywood elite. The red scare was a time period when paranoia caused people to question everybody
and quickly assume anyone and everyone could be a spy for the Soviet Union. Citizens and
government officials were suspicious of communist activity and actively searched for any that were
among them. People started blaming others they suspected of being communist sympathizers. This is
similar to plot and outline of The Crucibles structure. It

Juvenile Delinquency Is Participation Of Illegal Behavior...
Juvenile Delinquency is participation of illegal behavior by minors. Although it is no single path to
juvenile delinquency, the presence of several risk factors often increases a youth s chance of
offending. Risk factors have been defined as those characteristics, variables, or hazards that, if present
for a given individual, make it more likely that this individual, rather than someone selected from the
general population, will develop a disorder(May 2014). Risk factors predict an increased probability
of later offending but it is true that certain protective factors may work to offset risk factors. To
determine this, an assessment is given to the juvenile. This risk assessment will configure the type of
intervention that will best suit the individual youth needs in order to decrease their risk of offending.
The top three key social factors that contribute to juvenile delinquency in the 21st Century are family,
peers, and community. In this paper I will focus on the different aspects of each top key social factor
and the affects it will have on the juvenile. Family is the biggest influence for early on set juvenile
delinquency risk factors, primarily affecting children 6 11 years of age (Shader). Children learn basic
concepts about good and bad from their family; they make their values and set the norm for society.
Majority of the adolescents who show delinquent behaviors at an early age in any form come from
families that could not give firm foundations to the children.

The Argentine Process Of National Reorganization
The Argentine Process Of National Reorganization, more commonly known as the Dirty War, was a
period from roughly 1974 to 1983 when the president was deposed and the entire government was
taken control of by the military. This decade of civil destruction, turmoil, and human rights violations
was part of the military s plan to rid the country of the radical left and communist subversion. The
junta spoke of a New Argentina, one full of prosperity for all its citizens, order and no longer chaos,
they preached they would bring back Argentina s glory days. For all this talk of an Argentina that
would be once again a world power, no one knew of the atrocities the military would commit in the
process. They did not think of the innocent lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This stance made him popular amongst conservatives as well. While he started his ten year term with
large support, the cracks slowly started to show as the years progressed. In the beginning, his wife
Evita helped grow his appeal as she became a cult figure and created woman s institutions like a
women Perónist party. But after years of a healthy looking economy and growth, problems started to
arise in 1949. Inflation began to rise and unemployment grew. Perón tried to fix this by creating new
government jobs to make it look as if there was no problem. Many of his political opponents were
tortured, detained, or exiled. This also led to the signs of huge government corruption. After being
elected for another term in 1952, Perón tries to make his wife vice president to which the military
leaders said he was not allowed. Shortly after his reelection, Evita dies of cancer. This along with the
seemingly unfixable problem which was the economy, assassination plots began to be muttered.
Military rebellions began to break out around the country and Perón had the police round up his
opponents. Seeing the country in chaos, Perón resigns in 1955 and is exiled to Paraguay and then
Spain. The military was in control again and proceeded to ban the Perónist party. With Perón setting a
precedent for mass protest in the country, the 20 years before the beginning of the dirty war were a
battle between military intervention and the

Report of an Interview with a Afterschool Tutor in Mainstreaming School
Special Education has gained the attention from Hong Kong government in this decade and the
government has been working on how to provide an equal opportunity learning environment for SEN
student. However, there is a contention about the efficacy of the policy. For more information from
firsthand experiences, an interview with Ms. Ng has been done on 17November2017. Ms. Ng aged at
27 is a part time student of Advanced Diploma in Applied Social Sciences (Counselling) in

When students with SEN are taught the same knowledge at the same time with typical students,
teachers without professional training might take longer time to overcome their questions when they
have difficulties in learning. Ms Ng suggested teacher in mainstreaming school should have a 30mins
meeting or training about Integration each week to have better preparation for SEN. For Ms Ng s
personal experiences, teachers should mind their words and phrases during class because students with
SEN are sensitive with language. She has a P.2 student with learning disabilities who is in
mainstreaming school, he is responsible and happy to help others. He turned into another person when
he was struggling with homework. She tried to comfort him to say take your time! but He becomes
paranoid when he does not know how to do the homework. She finally figured out that her words
stimulated her student and get him into a situation that he think he is stupid and need more time to get
the homework done. Making rules for behaviors and give clear instruction are essential to Ms Ng,
especially for students with ADHD. It is difficult to get their attention and following directions.
Sometimes, they would talk loudly in the classroom and other students are influenced to learn. Ms Ng

Not All Women Are For Children
Not all women are meant to have children. No two women will ever handle a situation the same, but
they will all have the same ending. The reader is introduced to two very different individuals, although
both were mothers. Tessie Hutchinson (The Lottery) and Hester (The Rocking Horse Winner) were
both from very average families. Both were married and had children. The difference was that Hester
felt that children were forced upon her and felt that she could not love them, even though everyone
that knew her thought she was a great mother. Nevertheless, when her children were present, she
always felt the center of her heart go hard. (Kennedy Gioia 2013, 235). Tessie Hutchinson, on the
other hand seemed to be a very good mother, and was even late for the drawing of the lottery. Her
lateness was explained by herself to Mr. Summers by stating, Wouldn t have me leave m dishes in the
sink, now would you, Joe? (Kennedy Gioia 2013, 252). Tessie was so caught up in doing her motherly
chores she almost forgot the important day, until she went looking for her children. She even took time
out to speak with other women prior to finding her family. This would make one think that Tessie is
the better mother, but only time will tell. Isaiah 66:9 states, Shall I bring to the point of birth and not
give delivery? says the LORD. Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb? says your God.

Molloy, Gest, Feinberg, And Osgood
Molloy, Gest, Feinberg, and Osgood address questions about adolescent groups composed of the same
sex and of different sex, in relation to timing of the group s formation as well as how different
structures correlate with delinquency, alcohol usage, and cigarette smoking, as well as more positive
characteristics. The authors acknowledge past studies that show that bi gendered friend groups emerge
with adolescent (Connolly, Furman Konarski, 2000; Dunphy 1969, etc), but the authors aim to delve
into the specifics of different groups and individuals within those groups (2449). Their four topics of
interest include: normative emergence of mixed sex friendship groups, how structural features vary by
gender composition, qualities of adolescents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In conjunction with research presented in lecture, Molloy, Gest, Feinberg, and Osgood found that
single sex groups dropped as age increased, but single sex groups dominated throughout, saying that
they aren t the norm. From personal experience, I would agree with the validity of these findings, as
throughout adolescence the majority of my friend groups as small as the ones to which these authors
are referring were mostly the same sex. The authors analyzed then the correlation between types of
groups and behaviors, finding mix sex groups to have the highest tendencies towards alcohol and
cigarette usage, and almost the same tendency for delinquency as mostly boy groups. Furthermore, the
authors found that mixed sex groups correlated with lower grades and less family

How Does Farley Mowat Examine The Actions Of Wolf
About a century ago, a man by the name of Farley Mowat was sent to the frozen wilderness of Canada
to examine the actions of wolves and how they affected the plummeting of the caribou population.
While studying a pack of 7, he acquired a deep feeling of admiration for this certain pack of wolves.
Almost halfway through the novel, Mowat gives each of the three adults a name that goes along with
their role in the family. While living near the wolves, Mowat soon realizes that they are not at fault for
the decline in caribou society, nevertheless doing quite the opposite. There is something far more

Memorialization Research Paper
Memorialization As an American, who happens to be half Mexican, memorials are seen differently by
many different people; their lust for recognition, or their respect to either a nation s greatness; or to the
protectors of that nation, are a couple central values. However, when creating monuments to
memorialize either party, designers must consider many aspects. Such as: what is the purpose of the
monument? What does it symbolise and mean? What are the costs, money wise, but also physically?
What is the monument going to destroy or remove? What will every group of people think about the
monument? These are questions which must be asked before the construction process proceeds.
Certain monuments bring positivity to the nation by bringing to ... Show more content on

This question outsets the others for many factors, such as, the ability of a group to gain the power to
overthrow the process can stunt the growth of a certain monument or memorial being built. On the
other hand, if the group creating the memorial becomes strong enough, they can push through and get
their ideas passed quicker and more luckily. Within source C, (Waiting for Crazy Horse), the author
exemplifies that, I have to admit: Mount Rushmore bothers me. It was bad enough that white men
drove the Sioux from hills they still hold sacred; did they have to carve faces all over them too? It s
easy to feel affection for Mount Rushmore s strange grandeur, but only if you forget where it is and
how it got there. To me, it s too close to graffiti. While the author creates a compelling article, the
main idea, is that the project of mount rushmore was created on land which is sacred to a culture, and
now it is seen as one of the most revered landmarks in America. The hypocrisy within the Rushmore
project, is the mountain shows a nation which is founded on equality, fairness, peace, and love.
However, the mountain itself was created by defacing the land of the native people, and destroying
their culture within the black

The Brown Vs. Board Of Education Case
Brown verses board of education started on December ninth 1952. The case was concluded on May
seventeenth 1954. Brown verses board of education is a very important, historical case. It is a United
States Supreme Court case in which the Court declared that all state laws establishing separate public
schools for black and white students to be unconstitutional. Before the Brown verses board of
education case was concluded, black, and white children had to be taught in separate schools.
Supposedly, it was not moral for white, and black kids to be near each other. Even outside of school
there were separate water fountains, there were separate bathrooms, there were separate restaurants,
and many other parts of daily life where black people, and white people were not allowed to go to the
same places. Both of these races were supposed to have separate, but equal treatment. However, the
white run places had much more funding, and much nicer amenities than the places where black
people were allowed to go. This was deeply immoral. The first of the groups to be positively effected
by Mamie Phillips Clark, and Kenneth Bancroft Clark was the group of kids who were put through the
coloring test. The coloring test was an experiment that was a big part of the Brown v. Board of
Education decision. This experiment is less well known than the doll experiment, it still played a huge
part in the outcome of the Brown verses board of education case. Mamie, and Kenneth did this

Race Biological Theory
The theory of race is a difficult concept to grasp as there are many ideas, opinions and views on the
topic. The real question being, is race a biological idea or a social concept? According to the National
Coalition for Health Professional Education in Genetics (2016), and from a biological perspective race
is defined as a group that possess characteristic traits and gene frequencies that distinguish it from
other groups in the same species . At the same time the American Anthropological Association (1998),
defines the social concept of race and ethnicity as the identification with population groups
characterized by a common ancestry, language and custom . Just by virtue of their definitions it s clear
that regardless of the perspective there is overlapping causing the two concepts to be intertwined with
each other.
Biologically speaking, there is one race in our species know as the Homo Sapien . All Homo sapiens
have the same basic DNA structure with only minimal variations. In fact, any two humans are 99.9%
biologically identical. Even though we re all quite similar there is that 0.1% difference in our genetic
makeup. Scientists explain the biological differences in three ways: ... Show more content on

The perception of race really depends on individual experience. It depends on who is judging and who
is being judged. Our daily interactions are shaped by society s assumptions and stereotypes which are
based on racial classifications. These classifications have created a social hierarchy of dominant and
submissive roles that tend to promote racism. Although society seems to be fearful of the various form
of racism that can exist we continue to maintain the social factors that contribute to the inequalities.
Having a better understanding of racial classifications and racism can move the process forward in
addressing the factors of inequality, thereby giving everyone a fair

Chevre Research Paper
Chevre is a goat s cheese with a delicate, tart flavor that compliments many dishes. It is commonly
used in pasta dishes, usually as a filling or sauce. However, it s creamy texture and earthy flavor give
it a wide range of uses. One of the best ways to use fresh chevre is as an appetizer. Here are five ways
to use fresh chevre as an appetizer: 1. Finger Sandwiches A common appetizer for tea parties or
brunches are finger sandwiches. Although they commonly use cream cheese or pimento cheese as a
filling, fresh chevre is a good alternative. You can pair the cheese with cucumber slices, basil, and
mint for a traditional finger sandwich. For something with a bit more of a punch, pair the cheese with
crunchy pecans. Both serve well with a glass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The creamy texture pairs wonderfully with the crunchy bread. It can be paired with a wide assortment
of things for a fun and flavorful topping. Pair the cheese with red peppers, olive oil, and sun dried
tomatoes for a savory appetizer. You could also pair the cheese with citrus zest, flavored oils, or
whatever your heart desires. If you want something on the sweeter side, pair it with preserves and
honey. 3. Stuffed Figs or Dates Stuffed appetizers are the perfect finger food for dinner parties or
brunches. Pair the fresh chevre with figs or dates for a sweet and savory appetizer. Fill figs with the
cheese and chopped rosemary. Wrap in prosciutto or bacon and bake until warm. Drizzle with aged
balsamic for an even bigger flavor. If you prefer dates, simply fill them with the cheese and bake until
warm. Both are easy and tasty appetizers. 4. Baked Dip You could also use the fresh chevre to make a
warm dip for crackers. Mix the fresh chevre with cream cheese, diced tomatoes, and basil. Bake in hot
oven until warm and bubbly. Top with some olive oil immediately before serving, and serve with any
type of cracker you like. 5. Stuffed

The American Dream.

bring new and new waves of immigrants. It is a part of each American; this dream has been the light at
the end of the tunnel for which our parents and ancestors were coming for. To find a life that was
rewarded and built only on their will of hard working and efforts. The term American Dream is one of
the triggers that lead to the shores of the USA many thousands of immigrants, it had a deep meaning

I think that even though the way of achieving The American Dream has become more and difficult
saying I have achieved my American dream is heard not often, there is still a chance to really achieve
it. All we have to do is forget about material success and live in the way our ancestors were living by
finding a good husband or wife, by having kids and living from day to day. That was their dream, and
we can always look and find that dream in our society. Another interesting trajectory that the concept
of The American Dream can give a key, is the concept of social classes. Social classes that we have
today are upper, middle, lower and the working class. The American Dream is rewarding those who
are hard workers, who have qualities and skills, those people can always reach the top goals. But now
days we have people who are working hard, who have skills but they barely make the ends. This
shows that material success is very difficult to reach; we have 1% of rich people who have the
financial resources to control the rest of people (Schaefer 216). Even though the financial crisis had a
crucial impact on our economy, more people were answering positively on a question Have you

Shadow Of The Galilean Book Report
Gerd Theissen taught at University of Bonn and the University of Copenhagen, but is now a professor
at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. His field of expertise is the Bible, more specifically,
Theology of New Testament. He has been researching and writing novels about the New Testament
and the life of Jesus for over 30 years. It is evident that Theissen is able to write a historical fiction
novel that is well researched and accurately reflects the time period it is written about. The historical

because Pontius Pilate believed they could be intentionally hiding something and they did want him to

The Report On San Bernardino s Terrorist
Overview (LaTasha McCoy) If you ve heard about the FBI s up hill battle with Apple regarding the
San Bernardino s terrorist(s), then you may or may not know what jailbreaking is. Jailbreaking is the
process that bypasses restrictions on iPhones and iPads, or any other smart device, to install other apps
and tweaks that were not approved by the software creator. [7] The tweaks stem from what s known as
roots which is the superstar of various opertaing systems: Andriod, iOS, and Mac OS X. If someone
should gain access through jailbreaking or rooting on a particular device, that device can be easily
accessed, modified, or swiped clean. [8] Jailbreaking can be one of the most damaging things you can

Leaving user information open and readily available to for anyone to steal and use, for a particular
device that is considered jailbroken, it will be vulnerable to countless malware attacks and much more.

Questions On Attachment Theory And Attachment Parenting
Introduction
People can and do get the [attachment] theory confused with attachment parenting. The result of this
may be that some parents, thinking that attachment parenting is too consuming and also because
western society has a need for independence and separation, may then look for alternative methods
that do not involve any form of attachment methods . The purpose of researching these theories is to
gather information about attachment theory for those involved to make informed decisions that do not
involve a specific parenting philosophy that may not suit their family s needs.
Attachment is the method through which people acquire specific positive and close emotional bonds
with others. In mature relationships, people may be equal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Freud believed that infants develop maternal relationships because mothers feed them and satisfy their
hunger. However, animal studies have provided evidence that feeding does not necessarily explain the
attachment. In fact, experiments have found that infant rhesus monkeys raised in an isolated
environment preferred the contact with a comfortable cloth covered surrogate mother, even while
feeding from the nourishing wire surrogate mother, demonstrating that the basis for attachment
relationships does not reside solely in feeding. These experiments also found that the ones raised by
simulated mothers were scared when placed alone in foreign situations.
Another expert, Erik Erikson, proposed an eight stage psychosocial development process. In his
theory, each stage involves a task that must be completed if infants are to successfully move to the
next stage. The initial stage of Trust versus mistrust in psychosocial development arises in the first
year of life. During this stage infants need to develop a sense of trust in themselves and in the world
around them. The infant depends on the parents, with an emphasis on the mother, for nourishment.
Their relative interpretation of world and society stems from the parent child interaction. If the parents
expose the child to consistency, and steady affection, the child s perception will be that of trust.
However, if parents fail to provide a safe environment that meets

Memphis International Airport ( Mem )

cargo shipping airport, handles its day to day operations involving passenger airlines in conjunction
with
FedEx commercial shipping. By comparing DOT and FAA reports, along with the airlines and FedEx

shipping statistics, an airport capacity and congestion problem is disproved. Since Delta closed down
their MEM hub, passenger air travel has dramatically decreased while cargo shipping has continued to
steadily climb. Other airlines have started offering services in and out of MEM but were only able to
increase passenger travel by 1%, in 2014. The different operating schedules of passenger and cargo

production. However, it does tell us a lot about this CEO s management style just from this message.
First of all, this is an e mail. We don t know the meetings that have been called to address this issue
prior to this, but by sending this in an e mail he is making it very impersonal. The CEO here isn t
showing the effort necessary to really get his point across through the means he chose. They are also
very threatening, by deciding to take away privileges such as the Associate Center and the Stock
Purchase Program instead of providing incentives for improvement.
The CEO for this company needs to take responsibility for his part in allowing the culture of his
company to facilitate this type of behavior in its employees. A hiring freeze and a reduction in staff
will cause more work all around, whether specific employees are part of the problem, or not. This will
most likely not be good for company morale or retention rate. It does appear that something does need

Elie Wiesel Indifference
Indifference is a blurred line between light and darkness. Indifference is dangerous. Indifference is
seductive. Indifference is unnatural. Indifference is tempting. Indifference is careless. Indifference is
not a beginning, it is an end. The Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel in his speech, The Perils of
Indifference, claims that indifference has multiple hazards. He supports his claim by first comparing
indifference or lack of interest to it being more dangerous than anger and hatred, then comparing the
meaning of indifference to not only a sin, but to a punishment. Wiesel s purpose is to define
indifference in order for us to be aware of its effects so that we can do something about it. He creates a

In this case, the Rwandan genocide which happened in 1990, 54 years after the Holocaust,
approximately murdered 800,000 people in 100 days. The genocide all started because the president at
this time was a Hutu and was shot down from his airplane. As a result, the group Hutu thought that the
other group Tutsi had planned it all out. To clarify, the Hutu group was angry with the Tutsi, which
caused violence. The United States decide not to get involved because they didn t want any more
problems. As a matter of fact, Wiesel had thought that the American army decided not to get involved
as well as he stated in paragraph 17. In other words when Wiesel was in the concentration camps, he
thought that the American army had decided not to intervene with Hitler and his men.
Ultimately, Elie Wiesel is an extraordinary human being. Why did Elie Wiesel decide to write his life
changing speech you might ask. Wiesel decide to come up with is speech because he wanted to
illustrate the dangers of indifference using personal experiences and historical examples. He wanted us
to learn why indifference is so inhumane. He wanted us to know that there are other genocides going
on and that the century/society of today should not commit these same mistakes. Elie Wiesel wanted

How Does Liam O Flaherty Use Foreshadowing In The Sniper
In the story The Sniper by Liam O Flaherty is about a Republican sniper watching over Dublin,
Ireland. The story is set in the Irish Civil War. The author uses mood and foreshadowing to show and
tell that war tears families apart.
The central issue is about the Irish civil war and people killing and hurting each other. For example, in
the beginning it states Republicans and free staters were waging civil war. (1). This illustrates that
there is a civil war going on and people are dying for their side. Also, he uses foreshadowing because
in the story, it says The flash might be seen in the darkness, and there were enemies watching. He
decided to take the risk. (1). This shows/foreshadows his enemies seeing him and shooting at him, that
is significant because if he were to be shot and killed, his family would be mourning over his death
and they would have lost their son. Near the end of the story the author uses foreshadowing the death
of a friend or family member of his. He does this by saying in the story He wondered did he know
him... Then the sniper turned over the dead body ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two craft moves are irony and description. Irony shows that war is tearing families apart because in
the end it states Then the sniper turned over the dead body and looked into his brother s face (4).
There is irony there because the reader does not expect the main character to kill somebody that he
actually knew, let alone his brother. If the main character had known that it was his brother, then he
would not have shot and killed him. Liam O Flaherty also uses description in the story to emphasize
death of people and family members dying. For example, it states The old woman whirled round and
fell with a shriek into the gutter. People can infer that the old woman has a family back home, she
could have been a mother, a sister, or a wife, but she was killed in the war, destroying her family

Do Video Games Help Students Essay
Do video games help students in the classroom? This is a question that I have been pondering about
because I am part of a group of about 150 million Americans that play video games. Alicia Ault, an
author of a video gaming and learning article wrote that the biggest converts to video games are
educators, who are using them to teach such subjects as history, geography, science and math and to
hone students critical thinking abilities (Ault). According to a Pew Internet American Life Project
survey, half of the experts surveyed predicted that gamification, or the use of games by educators and
companies to turn work into a game, would become a major factor in education, health care and the
workplace by 2020 (Pew Research Center). I believe that this gamification going on throughout
schools could help student learn. Elizabeth Box, a civics teacher in a Florida middle school, started
noticing a decline in kids engagement. They didn t care, their parents didn t care, and they were
failing. Box knew that she needed to do something in order to make them study again. So, she
researched online and found a blog called Teched up Teacher by Chris Aviles that made her class into
a video game. Her classroom went from a 30 percent assignment completion rate to 100 percent. In
the end, all of her students get their work done, everyone logs in outside of school, and every single
one is passing her civics class. This shows that gaming is helping out teachers complete their tasks of

Is the Funeral Industry Affected by Recession
How the funeral industry is being impacted and changed by the Global Recession? Benjamin Franklin
s old adage in this world nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes has never been truer.
However, if he was around today he might change his spelling of death to debt . Taxes in Ireland have
increased recently and the forthcoming emergency budget looks certain to bring further misery to the
population. So while governments are busy collecting whatever taxes they can, people are still dying!
You are born and then you die, it is a simple fact of life. In fact the portion in between we call life is
the uncertain part. When you die you will require the services of an undertaker / funeral director. They

Laurence Shatkin seems to think that the industry is recession proof. He ranks a funeral director at
number 84 in his recent book 150 Best Recession Proof Jobs . Yes the work will continue to come and
as the baby boomers come of age, so to speak, the funeral industry doesn t look like slowing down.
However, it is not just the people that are dying, the profits are too! People have become more cost
conscious as a consequence of the recession and even in their time of grief they are starting to shop
around for the best deal to bury their loved ones. Remember, death can be sudden and unplanned and a
costly funeral will rarely be budgeted for. A funeral is a celebration of someone s life and often the
extravagance is a reflection of the respect for that person. Irish people are famed for their funeral
celebrations otherwise known as a good send off . Nobody wants to cut back on any of the customs
associated with a traditional funeral, however, Dermott Jewell of the Consumers Association of
Ireland has said I don t think anyone can underestimate the difficulty of asking questions or querying
things at the time of a funeral but the fact is, you are availing of a service that comes at a cost and it
can be quite extreme. There are alternatives and you do have a choice. There is a personal barrier there
that you may be seen as being mean but nobody should think in that vein The alternatives are straight
forward. Choose a less ornate coffin;

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church
Spirituality has a unique definition for every individual. As for myself, my spirituality is the path to
my eternal life through my savior Jesus Christ. As a follower of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido
Church, the church has taught me the way of life and how to constantly mend myself toward the right
path while serving others. To begin with, the country I grew up in, Ethiopia is truly a combination of
the two worlds because it is the first country to accept Christianity and Islam before even the
Europeans did. What differs the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is the replica of the Ark of the Covenant

Comparing Relational Database And Data Storage Essay
Introduction
This paper will discuss the main difference between the relational database optimized for on line
transactions and a data warehouse optimized for processing and summarizing large amounts of data.
Next this author will outline the difference database requirements for operational data for decision
support data. Next this paper will describe three example in which databases could be used to support
decision making in a large organizational environment. Lastly this author will describe three other
examples in which data warehoused and data mining could be used to support data processing and
trend analysis in a large organizational environment.
Difference between Relational Database and Data Warehouse Optimized
What are the main differences between the structure of a relational database optimized for online
transactions versus a data warehouse optimized for processing and summarizing large amounts of
data? Relational database online transaction consist a unit of work performed within a database
management system and treated in a coherent and reliable way independent of other transactions.
Many types of organization use this type of transaction, consumer use this type of transaction when
using their ATM. The short answer is, these types of transaction are great at collecting data. OLTP are

Hockey is a fast paced sport with little time to react or prepare for a hit correctly. The knowledge of
knowing how to take a hit is just as important on how to distribute a hit. Both can cause significant
harm to both players if not done right. The biggest rule to follow when you are about to get hit is to
have a low base. This means to have your knees bent at about ninety or so degrees and to put most of
your weight on the ball of your foot. This way your center of gravity is lower and you have more
balance. This also protects more of your limbs from getting hit. As opposed to standing up with makes
you unbalanced and prone to worse injuries. Another crucial part of the game is how you give a hit.
Many clinics have been set up to show how to properly hit, but boys tend to ignore the rules and just
try to hit someone has hard as they can. This is why during practice during the regular season it should
be practiced on at least once every week or two weeks. But even the knowledge of how to hit and how
to take a hit isn t enough. Proper stretching and strength training has proven to strengthen muscles and
to allow flexibility and decrease injuries (Mick). More players should take advantage of doing a full,
warm up before a game. This decreases chance of injury while also increasing the performance of the

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Democracy In Mexico
Democracy is an essential factor in governance. If we govern democratically, we are likely to get more
gains in the society since everyone feels that they get fair treatment. Democracy, however, has its
weaknesses since it is not a perfect process. In this section, we are going to evaluate the strengths and
weaknesses of democracy in Mexico.
Strengths of democracy
Democracies allow people to select those that are governing them. After Salinas s leadership we see a
challenge of succession as he declares that he is not going to run for office. It also allows for nations
to create specific standards that a person must meet before they take leadership roles. The political
rule in Mexico was once renowned as the perfect dictatorship. The government was characterized by
regular elections, uninterrupted ruling by the same political party and widespread legitimacy. There
was no freedom or fairness with regards to political activism. Participation in politics was only
encouraged when it offered support to the ruling party, and there was repression when the objective of
political participation was initiating change. But with democracy in Mexico, there were changes in the
way of ruling. The reforms encouraged the opposition party to challenge the ruling party, and there
were a lot of opportunities for Mexicans to engage in political activism. A combination of ... Show

Essay about Migration Policy and Domestic Party Politics
There is no one categorical answer to this main question if Europeanization in the field of Migration
Policy is limited because this field is dominated by domestic party politics or not. First of all we must
define how do we understand Europeanization in the field of Migration Policy. It could be understood
slight differently: (i) as an Europeanization in assimilation of rules for regular and irregular
immigrants; (ii) as an Europeanization in external dimension of European Union migration policy; (iii)
as an Europeanization in terms of free movement of working force within European Union, etc. These

6). The EU member states have certainly been wary of ceding too much of powers up to the EU,
creating a de facto European space of 27 different approaches to migration policy, allowing only for
minimum harmonization (Weinar, 2011, psl. 6 7). That clearly shows that migration is very sensitive
policy and is strongly influenced by political decisions within member states.
The main shortcoming of the European migration policy framework is its ambiguity and dispersed
focus. It addresses the common interest of the EU member states in some fields, while leaving out
those common interests in others (Weinar, 2011, psl. 7). So what makes some fields more attractive to
common interests?
Elspeth Guild states that at the heart of the EU there is and has always been an ambition and duty to
reconfigure the territory of the Member States in order to achieve economic aims (Guild, 2006, psl.
631). Human rights were not part of the original schema of the EU (Guild, 2006, psl. 632). So if we
assume, that economic aims and not human rights are most important factors, we might argue, that
success in various Migration Policy agreements also depends on economic benefits. Putting this in a
simple terms, we might argue, that member states comply with Migration Policy goals if they can get
economical benefits from it. National states are always

Biblical Vs. Biblical Worldview
When one looks at the world through a Biblical lens, they lay a foundation for becoming an agent of
change, standing apart from society and pointing others towards Christ. A truly Biblical worldview is
one which results in the believer honoring Christ and clearly set apart from the world. Every
worldview has a set of underlying assumptions which influence how one sees the world, and a Biblical
worldview is no different. What is different is that these assumptions can be tied back to Christ. This
fundamental difference results in those who hold a Biblical worldview being truly separate from the
secular world, pointing towards Christ as they live out a life aimed solely at glorifying Him. In
Romans 1 8, Paul supplies Christians with a set of assumptions regarding the natural world, human
identity, human relationships, and culture, creating the foundation of the transformative Biblical
worldview. Each of these leads to modern implications which can be derived from scripture. Firstly,
there is a set of Biblical assumptions about the natural world. In Romans 1:20, Paul says that His
invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever
since the creation of the world. (Romans 1:20, ESV) This verse is stating that the world naturally
reveals the glory of God. The wonder of creation, from the mountains to the birds in the sky, all point
towards the existence of a creator. This is known as natural revelation, which is the idea that

Student Teacher Relationship Is Imperative Essay
Student teacher relationship is imperative to student learning. Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may
remember, involve me and I learn is a quote by Benjamin Franklin, that explains how vital student
teacher rapport is to critical learning (Staff, A. H., 2016). It is central that students feel comfortable in
the classroom, and there is mutual respect between the teacher and students. For my fieldwork, I

Shakespeare s Hamlet, the characters are surrounded by false appearances which are deceitful and

very clear by her body language, that she did not trust her. The mother leaves, which causes the baby
to inquire about her mother but did not really react in a very upsetting way. In fact, in the next scene,
the stranger is seen holding the baby and had obviously established trust. The mother returns and as

There are many kinds of psychosocial disorders that deal with deferent things. Some psychosocial

Media is mostly worried about what people, mostly celebrities, look like. Teens see a tiny model;

self to become that skinny or what is known in the psychology world as anorexia. Anorexia is a big
deal in the United States, a lot of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. Computer Programming In Primary And Secondary Education. Computer Programming in Primary and Secondary Education Dylan Baiko It is important for students to come out of grade school equipped with skills relevant to today s society. Therefore, computer programming should be full integrated into school curriculum from kindergarten to grade 12. Today s society is becoming more and more reliant on computer technology. It is a tool used everywhere and it is impotent to understand how it works in our daily lives. Therefore, computer programming is a necessary skill for everyone to have. It is true that if computer programming was taught in schools, this would make it so kids are introduced to computers at a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This statement can be used to describe the complicated relationship between Arthur Miller and Elia Kazan during the Red Scare. Both Miller and Kazan were at the height of their career during this timeframe and the major focus on communism was the start of downfall of their friendship. Miller and Kazan had friction over the decades in both their professional lives as well as personal lives. There were many issues from the personal issue of Marilyn Monroe to professional conflict, but society s focus on communism and figuring out who supported the idealism was the final strain that caused irreparable damage. The red scare was during the late 1940s and early 1950s. It was a time in history when the fear of communism would spread throughout the United States causing widespread panic. The red scare had a dramatic effect on every aspect of life in the United States of America from your average citizens to the Hollywood elite. The red scare was a time period when paranoia caused people to question everybody and quickly assume anyone and everyone could be a spy for the Soviet Union. Citizens and government officials were suspicious of communist activity and actively searched for any that were among them. • 5. Juvenile Delinquency Is Participation Of Illegal Behavior... Juvenile Delinquency is participation of illegal behavior by minors. Although it is no single path to juvenile delinquency, the presence of several risk factors often increases a youth s chance of offending. Risk factors have been defined as those characteristics, variables, or hazards that, if present for a given individual, make it more likely that this individual, rather than someone selected from the general population, will develop a disorder(May 2014). Risk factors predict an increased probability of later offending but it is true that certain protective factors may work to offset risk factors. To determine this, an assessment is given to the juvenile. This risk assessment will configure the type of intervention that will best suit the individual youth needs in order to decrease their risk of offending. The top three key social factors that contribute to juvenile delinquency in the 21st Century are family, peers, and community. In this paper I will focus on the different aspects of each top key social factor and the affects it will have on the juvenile. Family is the biggest influence for early on set juvenile delinquency risk factors, primarily affecting children 6 11 years of age (Shader). Children learn basic concepts about good and bad from their family; they make their values and set the norm for society. Majority of the adolescents who show delinquent behaviors at an early age in any form come from families that could not give firm foundations to the children. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reader is introduced to two very different individuals, although both were mothers. Tessie Hutchinson (The Lottery) and Hester (The Rocking Horse Winner) were both from very average families. Both were married and had children. The difference was that Hester felt that children were forced upon her and felt that she could not love them, even though everyone that knew her thought she was a great mother. Brown verses board of education is a very important, historical case. It is a United States Supreme Court case in which the Court declared that all state laws establishing separate public schools for black and white students to be unconstitutional. Before the Brown verses board of education case was concluded, black, and white children had to be taught in separate schools. Supposedly, it was not moral for white, and black kids to be near each other. Even outside of school there were separate water fountains, there were separate bathrooms, there were separate restaurants, and many other parts of daily life where black people, and white people were not allowed to go to the same places. Both of these races were supposed to have separate, but equal treatment. However, the white run places had much more funding, and much nicer amenities than the places where black people were allowed to go. This was deeply immoral. The first of the groups to be positively effected by Mamie Phillips Clark, and Kenneth Bancroft Clark was the group of kids who were put through the coloring test. The real question being, is race a biological idea or a social concept? According to the National Coalition for Health Professional Education in Genetics (2016), and from a biological perspective race is defined as a group that possess characteristic traits and gene frequencies that distinguish it from other groups in the same species . At the same time the American Anthropological Association (1998), defines the social concept of race and ethnicity as the identification with population groups characterized by a common ancestry, language and custom . Just by virtue of their definitions it s clear that regardless of the perspective there is overlapping causing the two concepts to be intertwined with each other. Biologically speaking, there is one race in our species know as the Homo Sapien . All Homo sapiens have the same basic DNA structure with only minimal variations. In his theory, each stage involves a task that must be completed if infants are to successfully move to the next stage. The initial stage of Trust versus mistrust in psychosocial development arises in the first year of life. During this stage infants need to develop a sense of trust in themselves and in the world around them. The infant depends on the parents, with an emphasis on the mother, for nourishment. Also, he uses foreshadowing because in the story, it says The flash might be seen in the darkness, and there were enemies watching. He decided to take the risk. (1). This shows/foreshadows his enemies seeing him and shooting at him, that is significant because if he were to be shot and killed, his family would be mourning over his death and they would have lost their son. Liam O Flaherty also uses description in the story to emphasize death of people and family members dying. For example, it states The old woman whirled round and fell with a shriek into the gutter. People can infer that the old woman has a family back home, she could have been a mother, a sister, or a wife, but she was killed in the war, destroying her family ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Do Video Games Help Students Essay Do video games help students in the classroom? This is a question that I have been pondering about because I am part of a group of about 150 million Americans that play video games. Alicia Ault, an author of a video gaming and learning article wrote that the biggest converts to video games are educators, who are using them to teach such subjects as history, geography, science and math and to hone students critical thinking abilities (Ault). According to a Pew Internet American Life Project survey, half of the experts surveyed predicted that gamification, or the use of games by educators and companies to turn work into a game, would become a major factor in education, health care and the workplace by 2020 (Pew Research Center). I believe that this gamification going on throughout schools could help student learn. Elizabeth Box, a civics teacher in a Florida middle school, started noticing a decline in kids engagement. They didn t care, their parents didn t care, and they were failing. Box knew that she needed to do something in order to make them study again. So, she researched online and found a blog called Teched up Teacher by Chris Aviles that made her class into a video game. Her classroom went from a 30 percent assignment completion rate to 100 percent. In the end, all of her students get their work done, everyone logs in outside of school, and every single one is passing her civics class. This shows that gaming is helping out teachers complete their tasks of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If we govern democratically, we are likely to get more gains in the society since everyone feels that they get fair treatment. Strengths of democracy Democracies allow people to select those that are governing them. After Salinas s leadership we see a challenge of succession as he declares that he is not going to run for office. The government was characterized by regular elections, uninterrupted ruling by the same political party and widespread legitimacy. There was no freedom or fairness with regards to political activism. Participation in politics was only encouraged when it offered support to the ruling party, and there was repression when the objective of political participation was initiating change. It could be understood slight differently: (i) as an Europeanization in assimilation of rules for regular and irregular immigrants; (ii) as an Europeanization in external dimension of European Union migration policy; (iii) as an Europeanization in terms of free movement of working force within European Union, etc. These cases might have very different national interests within member states. The EU member states have certainly been wary of ceding too much of powers up to the EU, creating a de facto European space of 27 different approaches to migration policy, allowing only for minimum harmonization (Weinar, 2011, psl. 6 7). That clearly shows that migration is very sensitive policy and is strongly influenced by political decisions within member states. The main shortcoming of the European migration policy framework is its ambiguity and dispersed focus. It addresses the common interest of the EU member states in some fields, while leaving out those common interests in others (Weinar, 2011, psl. 7). So what makes some fields more attractive to common interests? Elspeth Guild states that at the heart of the EU there is and has always been an ambition and duty to reconfigure the territory of the Member States in order to achieve economic aims (Guild, 2006, psl. 631). Human rights were not part of the original schema of the EU (Guild, 2006, psl. 632). So if we assume, that economic aims and not human rights are most important factors, we might argue, that success in various Migration Policy agreements also depends on economic benefits. Biblical Worldview When one looks at the world through a Biblical lens, they lay a foundation for becoming an agent of change, standing apart from society and pointing others towards Christ. A truly Biblical worldview is one which results in the believer honoring Christ and clearly set apart from the world. Every worldview has a set of underlying assumptions which influence how one sees the world, and a Biblical worldview is no different. What is different is that these assumptions can be tied back to Christ. This fundamental difference results in those who hold a Biblical worldview being truly separate from the secular world, pointing towards Christ as they live out a life aimed solely at glorifying Him. In Romans 1 8, Paul supplies Christians with a set of assumptions regarding the natural world, human identity, human relationships, and culture, creating the foundation of the transformative Biblical worldview. Each of these leads to modern implications which can be derived from scripture. Firstly, there is a set of Biblical assumptions about the natural world. In Romans 1:20, Paul says that His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world. (Romans 1:20, ESV) This verse is stating that the world naturally reveals the glory of God.
