Critique of the Effect of Complementary Music Therapy on the Patient s Postoperative State Anxiety,

thought this article particular would be interesting to read and critique. Pain is a common feeling in
human beings and anyway to lessen the experience I believe is worthy of investigative research.

This clarify the abandonment of construction project is considered as one of the most common and
serious persecution in the construction industry in Malaysia. There several causes lead to this issue
such as financial difficulties, mismanagement during the construction process, unexpected location or
nature difficulty, and lack of cooperation from local authorities. Beside these issues, I found that
industrial ruins also the main factor contribute to the increase number of abandon building. Buildings

Prison Reform And The Prison System
Prison reform is a significant issue that the United States government should enforce. It would aid in
creating a more organized system of incarceration. Prison reform is an attempt to improve, change, or
eliminate certain conditions in prisons. It is believed that it should be enforced due to the cases of
overcrowding, lack of proper education, and the lack of rehabilitation that could inform prisoners of
societal values. Prison reform would increase the self esteem that was diminished in the prisoner s
personal history. Prison reform is significantly important as it will heighten the amount of self worth
in the prisoner and cause a decrease in the population of prisoners who return to a life of crime.
Recidivism, or chance of recommitting a crime, will therefore be reduced. Prisoner who are released
will not have all the negative ideals or influence from the prison that is usually spread until their
release. Prison reform will help society if the increase in education and decrease in overcrowding is
ensued upon the prison system with this policy.
As prisoners are considered a disparaged minority, the impact of the correctional facility structure on
society is huge. It s clear that the correctional facility system is an impression of our control of law,
yet it in like manner really impacts the communities that prisoners are removed from and where they
go back to. Regardless that prisoners are a disdained minority, the impact of the correctional facility
structure on society

INTRODUCTION A significant amount of research efforts have been directed towards attempts at
providing high quality service for real time applications of IP based networks in the past decade. The
core idea of these techniques is to control the IP network congestion level which is the main cause of
delays/losses, and also imposes upper bounds on these events. Traffic policing is one of the techniques
used for this purpose. These techniques makes the assumption that users generating flows/calls will
specify the setup time by using Service Level Agreement (SLAs) i.e. the characteristics of the traffic
that they emit to the network. Therefore, these techniques are employed to ensure that the generated
traffic is within the conforms of previously agreed contracts. One of the most popular traditional
traffic policing techniques is the Leaky Bucket (LB). Average rate and the maximum burst size/length

A Story Of A Story
I am who I am. I talk to each and every one of you everyday. I promise you that you know me well. I
will tell you a story that takes place in a particular town, where as strange as it was, no one left, and no
one entered it. It existed just as you and I did, breathing, living, and suffering. A scream escaped Rue s
lips, when she awoke from her dream, as her hollow gray eyes darted back and forth, confirming her
surroundings. Her arms ached from a memory of excessive pain from being beaten by her father in the
dark basement of her large home. She was beaten for being smart, silly, or kind with her friends she
had made, years ago. She wanted to be an author, but her father thought otherwise, and gave much
disapprobation towards her. He wanted her to become business woman. In fact, it was all she could
remember from her childhood, and now as a 17 year old girl, she lives with her mom who has the
starting stages of alzheimer s disease. Rue slipped out the habiliments of her bed, and made her way
through the labyrinth of her home, to the bathroom. The wall were draped with red velvet arabesque
tapestries, and the floors were always furnished. She went out to school that cold morning, tucking her
dyed blue hair behind her ears. In class, she was bullied by Korra and Alex, for being timid and quiet.
In math class, Korra stole her notes, and threw them out the window. She even accidently spilled
drinks on Rue s clothes. During all this, Rue never said a word, she stayed as always hunched over,
seemingly lifeless, until Alex started flirting with Eden. Whenever Eden was around, her dull face
would light up, and cheeks began to glow. He d always read stories to her, whenever they would hang
out, which made her feel like someone else, that she could be someone else. However all she could do
was suppress the tears that began to leak out her eyes, when she sees Eden kiss Alex s cheek. Rue didn
t have the power or strength to fight for what she truly wanted in life. She truly believed that she was
meant to suffer. Once school ended, Rue began her journey back home, taking small steps with her
petite feet. A familiar voice filled with great piquancy called for her saying, Hey! Rue, wait, I have a
book I really

Welfare Against Mandatory Minimum Law
Families Against Mandatory Minimum also known as FAMM advocate for smart sentencing such as
individualized and fair criminal sentencing that protect the public. FAMM is nonprofit supported by
attorneys, judges, criminal justice experts and concerned citizens. Their objectives include:
uncrowding jails, which use citizens tax money, shift resources from uncrowded jails due to excessive
incarceration to other departments such as law enforcement and additional programs whose aims
include reducing crime and recidivism, and lastly, encourage individuals who have suffered from
mandatory minimum sentencing and whose lives have been harmed by these practices to be
constructive. To achieve their goal of fair sentencing, FAMM advocates for their objectives on a state
and national level. Sometimes FAMM gets involved in appeals and works with lawyers, however most
of the time FAMM just does presentations for governmental positions such as Congress or the U.S.
Supreme court, asking for change. In addition, FAMM encourages people to call their local
representatives and spread the word, realizing there is strength in numbers ( Sentencing that, 2014).
There are several ongoing projects working towards their goal. The Massachusetts Project is an
initiative where FAMM is working on changing drug sentencing laws and the for the Florida Project
FAMM is working on drug and gun laws where there are no alternatives other than minimum
sentences. However, on a larger scale, on the national level,

A Study On Cell Physiology And Biostatistics
J: Welcome everyone. I am Jake Rossein, I graduated Johns Hopkins University and Columbia
University where I got my PHD in cell physiology and biostatistics. Several years of studies and hard
work has put me where I am today.
Tonight, we will hear a few of the highly educated doctors and experts in the field of breast cancer talk
about their knowledge and experiences studying this deadly disease. In the United States, 1 in 8
women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. It is estimated that each year over 220,000
people will be diagnosed with breast cancer and is the second leading death among women.
Fortunately, breast cancer deaths have gone down in recent years due to advancements in screening
and treatment options and earlier detections.
Without further adieu we welcome Professor Trent Starr from the University of Harvard. Trent
graduated from Bucknell University where he received his PHD in cancer studies. Over to my left is
Doctor Richard Zampieron who is the head of Cancer treatments at Stony Brook University. He is also
the co founder and co creator of the American Cancer Society. And finally Liam Waring, who is the
surgical operations specialist at the Lehigh valley hospital.
So gentlemen before we explain about about the diagnosing and treatment for both cancer and
cancerous cells forming in both males and females, let s talk about different hints and clues that may
save your life in terms of how to detect and catch this deadly disease while it

Personal Reflection Of Personal Goals In The Honey Whiskey...
When I began pursuing my MFA in writing, I knew what I wanted my thesis to be, I just needed some
guidance in order to get there. I had completed my first novel, Seeking Signs, which weaves a
narrative around an Iowa crime in 1913 and won the Midwest Book Award for historical fiction from
the Midwest Independent Publishers Association in 2013. The research and writing that went into it
caused me to fall in love with the process and look for another challenge, one even more complex than
the first. Through my MFA pursuits, I wanted to hone my research skills, improve my ability to
establish vivid historical imagery, and gain a solid foothold on the voice necessary to tell my next tale.
My goals for the second novel, The Honey Whiskey Murders, began with exploring untapped research
avenues. While I had a plot in mind, I knew it was important to stay open to the unexpected places the
information took me. The research that went into the project was so entertaining, it was sometimes
difficult to force myself to sit down and write.
I read Murder and Mayhem in Clinton County, Iowa, a book published by the Clinton County
historical museum which includes a compilation of all newspaper articles covering both solved and
unsolved murders from the area dating back to the mid 1800s. The case of Homer and Rosela
Brownfield is one of many unsolved murders in my home county. The Brownfield murders made
headlines as far away as Ohio; these reports sensationalized the crime with statements

Summary Of The Film She ` S Beautiful When She s Angry
She s Beautiful When She s Angry, directed and produced by Mary Dore, is a film that documents the
struggles that women within the United States endure concerning the historical lack of women s
rights. Prior to the Women s Rights Movement in the 1960 s and 1970 s, a number of stereotypes
about women existed within society that limited both their personal and professional progression. She
s Beautiful When She s Angry a modern adaptation and documentary of this period of emotional strife
pays tribute to the women who courageously fought in order to ensure that gender discrimination
became an issue of America s past. As a documentary film that succeeds in taking its audience down

For example, at the height of the Women s Rights Movement, women were very rarely seen within the
sector of higher education; but today, however, women are more prevalent in higher education than at
any other point in recent memory. Not only has higher education become more of an integral norm for
women, but the increasing prominence of women within higher education is reflective of a
fundamental societal shift women are no longer being forced to stay within the confines of their home,
but are now able to focus on their education as well as their increasing job opportunities. Additionally,
women have also become more prominent within the political realm both in terms of running for
office and having the right to vote as well as the higher tiers of corporate America; which illustrates
that, as time goes on, they are becoming increasingly more powerful and are being afforded a myriad
of desirable positions and benefits that used to only be available for men. With the indisputable
progression of women in mind, it becomes challenging to comprehend how a film like She s Beautiful
When She s Angry can capitalize on its foundation of activism within the current societal climate.
Although there are still and may always be various opinions regarding women s rights, it is clear that,
since the Women s Rights Movement, women have been presented with countless opportunities that
they would not have been able to take advantage of approximately 50 years ago. As a result, a film
like She s Beautiful When She s Angry almost seems redundant, if not somewhat

A Room with a View by E.D. Forster explores the struggle between the expectations of a conventional
lady of the British upper class and pursuing the heart. Miss Lucy Honeychurch must choose between
class concerns and personal desires.
Honeychurch is a respectable young lady from a well known family. She travels with Miss Charlotte
Bartlett to Italy at the turn of the century. In Italy they meet Mr. Emerson and George Emerson.
George is young man who falls in love with Lucy. Mr. Emerson is an idealist and a dreamer.
Only a couple of days after they get to Italy George kisses Lucy while standing in the middle of a

She is torn between Cecil s world of books and conformity and George s world of passion and nature.
This decision is not easy for Lucy to make.
Lucy came really close to marring the wrong man due to her lack of thought. She has grown up and
lived a life of proper existence. However, Lucy possesses passionate qualities they have just been
repressed her entire life. Her only emotion outlet is the piano, in which she prefers dramatic pieces by
Beethoven. She plays the piano in order to let out her frustrations brought on by her surrounding
characters. Lucy is brought up to be proper and not outgoing or passionate. George will eventually
show her how to be passionate and open to new ideas. George is a man that breaks the chains of
conformity to free Lucy s spirit and he does this efficiency.
George kisses Lucy for the second time and he explains that love exists between them. He tells Lucy
that she can not marry Cecil because he does not understand women and will never understand Lucy.
George also explains that Cecil only thinks that he loves but in actuality only wants her for an
ornament. George, on the other hand, wants her as his partner in the great adventure of life. Lucy has
lied to herself and to everyone else around her until she is eventually cornered into tearfully admitting
her love for George.

Patience In Macbeth
The seemingly lost virtue of patience happens to be one of the most important qualities to determine a
person s outcome in life. Both main characters in Macbeth and Thank You Ma am struggle to grasp
the importance of patience. However, the results of their flaws of this trait are immensely different.
The stories of Macbeth and Thank You Ma am have strikingly similar themes of needing patience,
despite the different eras in which they were written. In Macbeth, the main character, Macbeth, is
unable to resist the temptation of having the throne, but during this quest he becomes mentally insane.

His desire to steal the purse was driven by the strong want to buy blue suede shoes. This desire of the
shoes can be compared to Macbeth s desire of the throne. Both characters did evil deeds to reach their
ultimate goal. Roger, however, is unable to successfully steal the purse and learns an important lesson
through his failure. After Roger s failed attempt, the story explains the woman s initial actions, ... she
reached down, picked the boy up by his shirt front, and shook him until his teeth rattled (Hughes, 1).
This quote shows her aggressive behavior that masked her knowledgeable and caring personality.
Roger is made to go back to her house to clean up and have a meal. The theme of patience is learned
during his visit to her house, The woman did not watch the boy to see if he was going to run now, nor
did she watch her purse which she left behind her on the day bed. But the boy took care to sit on the
far side of the room where he thought she could easily see him out of the corner of her eye (Hughes,
3). This quote expresses the amount of respect and trust built by both Roger and the woman in this
short amount of time. She later explains to him that she understands his motive to steal as she has
done wrongful deeds as well. She finished her talk with him by saying, And next time, do not make

The Effects Of Coal Mining On The Health Of The Body
Coal mining has several negative effects on the health of the body that often times go unrecognized or
just simply ignored. Many people have died from mining for various reasons such as the collapse of
the mines as well as respiratory diseases caused by mining. Governments across the globe continue to
implement regulations for the miners and populations surrounding the mines, but they have failed to
eliminate health risks related to mining, which is nearly impossible. Mining permits used to be easy to
obtain but under the Obama administration, the United States Environmental Protection Agency began
conducting more reviews and now they have issued comprehensive guidance which was designed to
strengthen requirements regarding mountain top removal (MTR) and other surface mining products
(Holzman 2011). The more an organism is exposed to coal mining, the more health problems they will
face. Simply being in the mines for certain duration of time can lead to several diseases such as dust
disease otherwise known as Pneumoconiosis. Miner s lung is a very large problem that is evident in
British coal mines. Coal mining areas tend to be more at risk of a socioeconomic disadvantage, higher
risk of health problems, and deconstruction of the environment in comparison to non coal mining
areas (Mclour 2008). In Mclour s study of miners lung , the quality of life is briefly covered and

Examples Of Structuralist Film Theory
B. Theories From a different angle of view, the ultimate aim of culture/media theories is to provide
theoretical/academic foundation to different genres within art and media. Likewise, there are several
film theories aiming to provide theoretical framework to different genres within motion picture.
Besides, these theories help to perceive the relationship between other genres within art and
Hollywood movies.
Structuralist Film Theory One can easily identify that this theory is interconnected with structuralism,
especially related to structural linguistics. This theory claims that directors basically make use of
different codes to construct meaning. For instance, different scenes are combined into a single story
with the help of editing. If editing is not done, the viewers cannot perceive the directors codes or
ideas. But in Hollywood films, utmost importance is given to editing because the directors know that
editing can provide spontaneity to their films as a whole.
Post structuralist Film Theory One can see that Post structuralism is basically an extension of
structuralism, but with differences. For instance, a viewer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The films produced during this time period provided ample importance to group activities related to
Marxism. For instance, films produced under Marxist influence provided ample importance to
working class struggles and related class wars. So, one can see that Marxist Film Theory tries to
explore the scope of group mentality, providing less importance to individual heroism. On the other
side, corporate overtone can be seen in Hollywood movies, which is totally against Marxist ideology.
Still, some traces of Marxism can be seen in the movies by Hollywood directors like James Cameron.
In short, Marxist Film Theory attempts to evaluate the scope of motion picture from Marxist view

Should Fund Programs Be Funded The Search For Extra...
Understanding the heavens has been a continual mystery to humans. Throughout human history,
individuals have been curious about life other than on planet Earth. The question that remains is if
humanity is alone in the universe. This question is very important because after all, the universe is still
expanding. In addition to the expansion of the universe, astronomers have discovered at least six
potential habitable worlds in our own solar system (CITE). It is natural to wonder if other worlds
might also have intelligent life and civilizations. Many claims have been made that we have already
been visited by aliens in UFOs, however, while plenty of evidence has been offered for scientific
examination so far none of it has been enough to convince us that the claims of visitations are real
(Bennett, 260). However, this doesn t mean that there is no intelligent life beyond our home planet.
Due to this, taxpayers should fund programs to begin the search for extra terrestrial life in the
universe. The reason why there should be programs that fund the search for extra terrestrial life in the
universe is because extra terrestrial life can help enhance our understanding of the universe.
Where ever extra terrestrial beings are located in space they can enhance our understanding of the
universe. This is because we are the newcomers in the universe and extra terrestrial beings can
potentially be around since the time our universe was created, which was 14 billion years ago
(Bennett,1 ).

DEMOGRAPHICS Demographics in the true essence of the word means the records of the human
population in a country. This includes the country s population density, ethnicity, education level,

China, for one adopted this policy in order to curb population growth. We all know that China has the
highest population in the world, encompassing 1.2 billion or twenty one percent of the world s
population. They know too well that if this would continue to grow, they will be having serious social
and economic problems. As a solution, in the year 1979, Chinese authorities create a one child per
family policy and because male children are often regarded as more economically valuable, female
infanticides increase. Infanticides are often regarded to as an inhumane act especially to us Christians
however in primitive people; this thing is not new to them. Many Asian and European countries
engaged in this act to prevent the population growth in their nations.
Because of the ONE CHILD POLICY, China was able to control its population. They are considered
to have the highest population rate not just in Asia but in the whole world and so this policy is more or
less favorable to them. This policy was said to have been the reason why they were saved from famine
and other economic disability. However, in smaller countries like Japan, this policy was effective
during the first years of implementation but later on become a hindrance in the progress of their

Vertical integration is the process of combining firms, usually under a single ownership, that are
different parts of a larger production scale. This could be anything from two firms to all of the firms
that make up the supply chain. Due to combining multiple smaller firms, this form of integration has
an effect on the market power that the firm(s) has (Riordan, 2008). This differs to horizontal
integration which is the combination of firms or expansion of a single firm at one particular point of
the production process (Black, Hashimzade, Myles, 2009, p. 206 7).
Vertical integration is usually carried out in one of two ways. Upstream, which can be referred to as

248). As well as this they will benefit from having a reliable retailer that will have a consistent
demand for their products. Although they will have a consistent buyer for their products the
subsidiaries will have to receive a lower unit price for their products as a result of bringing down their
costs after the integration. This is not a negative as the demand for their product is consistent and the
fall in market price will be proportional to the fall in costs.
As well as Smithfield, other meat and poultry production firms have benefitted from having highly
integrated production chains such as Tyson, ConAgra and Swift (Pepall, Richards, Norman, 2008, p.
449). The integration of these firms is consistent with Lieberman s views (1991, p. 452) of why
upstream integration may take place. The main reason which is applicable to this situation is that if the
inputs in question account for a large proportion of total cost (which animals being bred for meat will

Padre Pio s Beliefs
Padre Pio was born May 25, 1887 in Pietrelcina, Italy, a small country town located in southern Italy.
His parents were Grazio Mario Forgione and Maria Guiseppa de Nunzio Forgione. He was baptized
the next day, in the nearby Castle Church, with the name of his brother, Francesco, who died in early
infancy. Other children in the family were four siblings, 3 sisters and one brother. Religion was the
center of both Pietrelcina and the Forgione family. The town celebrated different saints and the bell in
the Castle Church was used not for ringing the hour, but for daily devotional time. His family attended
daily mass, prayed the rosary nightly and fasted three days a week from meat in honor of Our Lady of
Mt. Carmel. Although Padre Pio s grandparents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Padre Pio had the motto of, Pray, Hope and Don t Worry . In 1918, Pope Benedict XV asked all
Christians to pray for an end of the World War. Padre Pio offered himself as a victim for the end of the
war. Afterwards, for 2 days, Padre Pio had a vision where Christ appeared and pierced his side. From
this vision, he had an actual physical wound in his side. This experience has been identified as a
transverberation or piercing of the heart indicating the union of love with God.A couple of weeks later,
Padre Pio had another vision, the wounded Christ. After the vision ended, Padre Pio received the
Stigmata, the wounds of Christ, which remained on him for the next 50 years. Not too long after, word
about the stigmata began to spread across the world. Many people, especially physicians and doctors,
examined Padre Pio s wounds. He accepted it as a gift from God Though he would much rather have

Essay about The Emergence of a Global Aircraft...
In the article which I have chosen, the author discusses one of Latin American s most successful
business stories in the last 20 years. This success comes despite the fact that the company is from an
emerging market and developing country. The Brazilian company Embraer may not be known to the
general public but it is known to those who make decisions on aircraft purchases including:
international airlines, business jet owners, and military contractors. To build the reputation of the
company and to become a success, there had to be an adequate knowledge of foreign markets and how
to enter them. No aircraft manufacturer has been successful over the long run by staying in a home
domestic market. Airline manufacturers such as Tupolev ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If most passengers have flown to any smaller market airport in the United States, such as Monroe,
Louisiana, most probably they have flown on an Embraer product. For the past decade, the
manufacturer has engaged in an aggressive strategy to make this happen and gain the presence which
it has established. To do so, the company will have had to decide what foreign market tactics to use
and have a thorough understanding of all the topics discussed in Chapter 9 of Global Business by
Peng. The topics they would have had to deal with include: overcoming the liability of foreignness,
where, when and how to enter. Embraer, in becoming a worldwide brand, has had to overcome the
liability of its own foreignness. It has been noted that foreign firms start at a disadvantage and are
often discriminated against, sometimes formally and other times informally (Global Business). When
some of the airlines from various developed nations were looking at buying new aircraft, some
questions may have arisen as it relates to the quality of a Brazilian made aircraft. After all, airplanes
are very complex, large equipment that contains with millions of components. If any one of them is
constructed incorrectly this could cause a crash. To by pass this, the company has had to look at both

The True Value Of College Athletes. College Student-Athletes
The True Value of College Athletes College student athletes have some of the most time consumed
schedules of any college student. In regards to time commitment with their athletic team, that can be a
full time job in itself. Not to mention the academic commitment that should come before athletic in
the first place. Because college student athletes bring so much to the table in their commitments, there
has been an increased discussion on if college athletes should be paid. With increasing controversy of
the topic, college athletes should ultimately be paid because they are the cause for high revenue

Johnson and Acquaviva make the point that between weight training sessions, film room, practice,
individual workouts, travel, and finally competition, these student athletes cannot feel much like
students. (Brill 7) This further validates the point that college athletes should be paid if they are
spending so much time on athletics, and helping the school earn money along the way. If college
athletes were paid, it would motivate them competitively as well because the revenue the program
brings in is partially based off performance for signing TV deals and getting bids to postseason games
that earn more money for the school. The more successful a team is, the more money they will be able
to negotiate for in TV deals and the more likely they get bids to play in post season games to generate
extra revenue. Universities also make a fortune off of selling Since the players are the source for this
revenue by playing in these games, they would be even more competitively driven to perform their
very best because as a result they would get paid more money and generate more money for the school
at the same time. A win win scenario for both the student athletes and their respective universities.
Many of these college student athletes come from low income homes as well. The argument could be
made that if the university is able to help these athletes families with a form of pay without making
significant sacrifice, then they

Genetic Testing and Screening Essay
Many things are changing at an extremely rapid rate in our society. The new advances in the areas of
science and biotechnology are raising many ethical and moral dilemmas for everyone. No one will be
left unaffected. Everyone will have to make a decision and take a stand on these issues. I will discuss
advancements of genetic screening and testing. The first step to any ethical problem is to understand
the topic. It is difficult to formulate accurate ideas without knowledge about the topic, so first I will
provide a little background information on genetic screening. I will then point out some of the areas of
controversy associated with genetic screening, and finally I will discuss my view on the topic.
Genetic screening can be used to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In some ways genetic screening will become similar to a fortuneteller a scientific fortuneteller. This
new information will have some obvious benefits. We will now be able to predict if we will be
susceptible to a certain disease and consequently take more preventative measures against that disease.
Treatment for some genetic diseases may also become available and we will be able to treat that
disease. With our new technology, we may be able to treat problems in utero before a child is even
born. This new information may seem like a great benefit up front, but there are many areas of ethical
and moral concern that need to be addressed. What kind of decisions is this new information going to
call on us to make? Who will have access to this information?
One of the main concerns to genetic screening is that it will lead to new forms of discrimination. This
new discrimination could arise in a number of areas. One area that worries many groups is
discrimination in the workplace based on genetic predisposition. Could or would employers use
genetic information when hiring employees? Munson points out a specific case when this may happen.

Hamlet Grief In Hamlet

Evolution of Hamlet s Emotional Suffering
Since the tense conclusion of the 2016 presidential election, many people have felt a tremendous
amount grief surrounding the results. For much of America, this grief has completely changed the way
people live their lives. According to an article by the LA Times [source needed], 35% of the workforce
today feels more stressed at work due to politics. Following the election, countless people began
creating scapegoats to blame for their loss. In some extreme circumstances, the results triggered
depression and almost a political sickness for some people. Furthermore, they directed their rage at the
world and then began to focus that anger on people such as their neighbors, co workers, and
politicians. This atmosphere of taking sides has created an exceptional rift in the fabric of American
society. However, very few have voiced opinions about how their current situation could have been a
result of their prior actions, and many people are still pointing fingers rather than directing their
passion towards finding a constructive solution to their problems. Similarly, in Shakespeare s play
Hamlet, the protagonist experiences a process of condemnation following his father s death. Between
his first and second soliloquy, Hamlet s method of coping with grief transitions from projecting his
animosity outwards at those around him to then directing it inwards with intense self loathing,

The 1960 s Anti-War Movement
The war in Vietnam brought about a huge societal shift in the US, in the way that people viewed the
concept of conflict as a whole. In 1969, the number one complaint of many Americans was the
ongoing war in Vietnam, in fact, in public opinion polls from as early as 1965, the war was proven to
be the number one national issue among the American public. (SparkNotes Editors, 2015) It was this
objection to the war in Vietnam that truly sparked the 1960 s Anti War Movement in the U.S and the
rest of the world. The movement became increasingly popular among young Americans, reflecting the
growing disillusionment towards politics and society in general. (Wikipedia, 2015). The anti war
movement originated mostly on college campuses around 1964, as ... Show more content on

For the men and women who served in Vietnam, their experiences were often chaotic and harrowing,
leaving many to suffer from war zone related post traumatic stress disorder, alcoholism and drug
addictions later on. (Mandy Oaklander, Time Magazine, 2015). The 1983 hit song I was only nineteen
by Redgum, supports this, as it reflects the repercussions the Vietnam War had on ex soldiers lives.
The lyrics, Night time s just a jungle dark and a barking M.16 represent the symptoms of PTSD that
many Vietnam Veterans continued to face, long after the war ended. Paired with the constant threat of
ambush by the Viet Cong guerilla forces, US troops were always on the lookout for booby traps
hidden by the Communists in the dense jungle, such as sharpened bamboo stick pits hidden in the
undergrowth, and landmines, also known as bouncing betty s . This constant threat of attack led to
immense paranoia and decline of morale among the US troops, with many questioning what they were
fighting for, and if they could actually win. (Douglas Willoughby, 2001). Needless to say, the events of
the war made many question their morality, as orders soldiers were given by their superiors often
appeared questionable or morally wrong. This was evident in the aftermath of the Tet Offensive, when
public opinion turned against President Johnson and the

Slaughter Is The Violent Killing Of A Large Number Of People
Slaughter. As defined by the Merriam Webster Dictionary, slaughter is the violent killing of a large
number of people. Synonyms including; bloodbath, butchery, carnage, death, holocaust, massacre. I,
for one, hate this ugly word. It causes several things to come to mind when I hear it muttered: The
Holocaust, genocide, death, all of the repulsive and vial occurrences of the world summed in one
word. It s a grim topic, and most certainly one that doesn t occur in the US anymore, right? After all,
one of the world s leading super powers couldn t possibly be dealing with a magnanimous amount of
bloodshed on our lands. Am I correct? Well, what if I told you that over 3.7 billion farm animals are
killed every year in the United States for food. The ongoing slaughter of billions of animals a year,
with little thought or consideration to the inhumane abuse that these animals experience, is a
saddening truth that shouldn t be a fact today. Many say that the process of farming today is a marvel,
with the fact that we can feed an entire nation so quickly. There is no famine, no lack of food at any
time. It is a marvel we can create such a method that is so effective to feed thousands a day and I
would agree if animals that are killed for food weren t treated like a machine on an assembly line.
Several companies, like Perdue, make claims that their animals are treated righteously, live happy, and

The movie Brother Sun, Sister Moon tells about St.Francis s early life, conversion, and religious order
that he founded with the emphasis of living as beggars and relying on the mercy of others as Jesus did.

materialism there is in the world, Francis wants to get rid of all his possessions and live as the beggars
do so that he would be able to find true happiness in living a simple life. When we see that Francis has

willing to give up everything he had to live as Jesus did. What I personally learned from this movie is
that I was able to witness the life of someone who always lived for others and also had the
determination and courage to stick to what he believed in and to stand up for those beliefs. By setting
this example, he attracted people to follow him on his religious path and to join his group. This
following that St.Francis had, it soon grew into an entire order of monks known today as the

we touched the lives of other people. In the words of St. Francis If God can work through me, he can

Art Museum Analysis
When walking into the freshly built art museum of West Virginia University one can automatically
feel a sense of serenity. The spacing of the art pieces and the way the light hit them makes you want to

those doors.
The piece that really stood out to me was a work by Thomas Cole. Cole s piece caught my eye due to

Although I did not have to input different changes like I had to during tech week, I did have to pay

One of the most nerve wracking aspects that came along with the responsibilities of being the lighting
board operator was that before every show, I had to perform a channel check and make sure that every
single light used in the show was working and check to see if any of the gels had to be replaced. As I

Nicole author of Terror in Horror Genres: The Global Media and the Millennial Zombie, sets out to
prove our political and cultural objectives, are inherently violent, reflective of our culture and
manifested thru the media. In fact, she states the media is responsible for this shift reflected in zombie
films as the crisis culture. I have issue with the amount of influence Nicole has given the media.

In 2007 Juan Carlos introduced a sequel to Danny s 28 days called 28 weeks later. Ironically it is more
extreme than the first. Fresnadillo centers on what Snyder did, not necessarily the fear of violence but
the fear of societies ability to suppress the violence. This helps propel these films forward, and this
influence comes from the director not the media. Since Romero s 1978 Dawn of the Dead classic the
film zombies are almost too alive, running, jumping, and screaming. News masters feed us images of
violence and urgent threats on a regular basis, why not create zombies that mimic the same. Danny

Diary of the Dead is different from other millennial zombie flicks in terms of how explicitly it centers

Listening And Classical Music At An Early Age Helps Make...
Introduction
The Mozart Effect is the concept that listening to classical music at an early age helps make children
smarter. It has long been held that learning a musical instrument also helps develop the brain
differently, and can improve math ability specifically. Over the past two decades people have
wondered whether or not the Mozart effect really works. Will listening to classical music or learning
how to play an instrument increase a person s intelligence? If so, how does it affect a person s
intelligence? Dean Keith Simonton presented a chart in The Science of Genius, both Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven were considered geniuses and they are both composers
of classical music. This article made me think what if listening to classical music affects a person s
intelligence, or could learning to play an instrument help a person s intelligence? Also, what led me to
this area of investigation was that my dad always played classical music for me since I was born, and
when I had to take an IQ test I scored a 132, so I wanted to know if listening to classical music over
the years has helped me to become smarter. The Mozart effect can improve a person s spatial memory
after listening to classical music for about fifteen minutes a day, every day.

Factors That Implement Our Way Of Thinking
Many factors implement our way of thinking, but some tend to be more important than others. Age is
a factor, depending on your age often determines how serious you are and what your needs are. For
instance, being an adolescent you are going through stages of puberty and forming into an adult. Your
needs then tend to be impacted by your peers at school, and what is cool. Most adolescents seek
intimacy, communication, empathy and identity, your needs will definitely be different than a thirty
five year old seeking a marriage partner. All through history, the picture of a beautiful lady, and an
attractive man, has fluctuated. Perceptions of beauty do not only vary by culture but have also evolved
throughout time.In Ancient Egypt around 1292 1069 B.C., the ideal women had narrow shoulders, a
high waist, symmetrical face, and was thin. Throughout Ancient Egypt the society back then was
considered a sex positive setting, where pre marital sex took place and was considered adequate. Old
Greeks considered women beautiful, if they had a full rounded shape, full bodied, and had light skin.
The Han Dynasty (206 B.C. 220 A.D.) women in this culture were viewed as perfect in the event that
they had expansive eyes, fair skin, small feet and a little midriff. Likewise, long dark hair, white teeth,
and red lips. Throughout the time of the Italian Renaissance, women were viewed beautiful if they had
full hips, fair skin, a rounded stomach and an apple blossom, as well as light hair.

The Stonewall Riot of 1969
While it was barely a kernel of activism against the immense backdrop of advocacy during the 1960 s
and 70 s, the gay liberation movement was one of the most important challenges to the hierarchal
structures of accepted moral and scientific thought. Functioning as a minor footnote within the context
of a substantial political arena comprised of the issues of war, race and a raging women s liberation
movement, gay liberation in the late twentieth century still sought to impress upon the marginalizing
and sectarian constructions that subjugated gays to an imposed peripheral existence of personal and
public abhorrence. The Stonewall Riot of 1969 signaled the start of a substantial social movement, the
dissemination of which would permeate the gay community and call into action an assault on the
mechanisms of social order, public legislation and cultural dispositions that sustained a framework of
persecution against homosexual men and women. The efforts of gay liberation activists during the

sexual expression and gave way to a new rhetoric of pride and affirmation. For some gay men and
women, just being a homosexual in the late 20th century meant being a part of the movement no
political agenda necessary. Sexual politics, after all, have a visceral quality that isn t easy to ignore,
which D Emilio and Freedman attest to when they recognize that gayness itself symbolized an

  • 4. Prison Reform And The Prison System Prison reform is a significant issue that the United States government should enforce. It would aid in creating a more organized system of incarceration. Prison reform is an attempt to improve, change, or eliminate certain conditions in prisons. It is believed that it should be enforced due to the cases of overcrowding, lack of proper education, and the lack of rehabilitation that could inform prisoners of societal values. Prison reform would increase the self esteem that was diminished in the prisoner s personal history. Prison reform is significantly important as it will heighten the amount of self worth in the prisoner and cause a decrease in the population of prisoners who return to a life of crime. Recidivism, or chance of recommitting a crime, will therefore be reduced. Prisoner who are released will not have all the negative ideals or influence from the prison that is usually spread until their release. Prison reform will help society if the increase in education and decrease in overcrowding is ensued upon the prison system with this policy. As prisoners are considered a disparaged minority, the impact of the correctional facility structure on society is huge. It s clear that the correctional facility system is an impression of our control of law, yet it in like manner really impacts the communities that prisoners are removed from and where they go back to. The core idea of these techniques is to control the IP network congestion level which is the main cause of delays/losses, and also imposes upper bounds on these events. Traffic policing is one of the techniques used for this purpose. These techniques makes the assumption that users generating flows/calls will specify the setup time by using Service Level Agreement (SLAs) i.e. the characteristics of the traffic that they emit to the network. Therefore, these techniques are employed to ensure that the generated traffic is within the conforms of previously agreed contracts. One of the most popular traditional traffic policing techniques is the Leaky Bucket (LB). Average rate and the maximum burst size/length of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. A Story Of A Story I am who I am. I talk to each and every one of you everyday. I promise you that you know me well. I will tell you a story that takes place in a particular town, where as strange as it was, no one left, and no one entered it. It existed just as you and I did, breathing, living, and suffering. A scream escaped Rue s lips, when she awoke from her dream, as her hollow gray eyes darted back and forth, confirming her surroundings. Her arms ached from a memory of excessive pain from being beaten by her father in the dark basement of her large home. She was beaten for being smart, silly, or kind with her friends she had made, years ago. She wanted to be an author, but her father thought otherwise, and gave much disapprobation towards her. He wanted her to become business woman. In fact, it was all she could remember from her childhood, and now as a 17 year old girl, she lives with her mom who has the starting stages of alzheimer s disease. Rue slipped out the habiliments of her bed, and made her way through the labyrinth of her home, to the bathroom. The wall were draped with red velvet arabesque tapestries, and the floors were always furnished. She went out to school that cold morning, tucking her dyed blue hair behind her ears. In class, she was bullied by Korra and Alex, for being timid and quiet. In math class, Korra stole her notes, and threw them out the window. She even accidently spilled drinks on Rue s clothes. During all this, Rue never said a word, she stayed as always hunched over, seemingly lifeless, until Alex started flirting with Eden. Whenever Eden was around, her dull face would light up, and cheeks began to glow. He d always read stories to her, whenever they would hang out, which made her feel like someone else, that she could be someone else. However all she could do was suppress the tears that began to leak out her eyes, when she sees Eden kiss Alex s cheek. Rue didn t have the power or strength to fight for what she truly wanted in life. She truly believed that she was meant to suffer. Once school ended, Rue began her journey back home, taking small steps with her petite feet. A familiar voice filled with great piquancy called for her saying, Hey! Rue, wait, I have a book I really ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Welfare Against Mandatory Minimum Law Families Against Mandatory Minimum also known as FAMM advocate for smart sentencing such as individualized and fair criminal sentencing that protect the public. FAMM is nonprofit supported by attorneys, judges, criminal justice experts and concerned citizens. Their objectives include: uncrowding jails, which use citizens tax money, shift resources from uncrowded jails due to excessive incarceration to other departments such as law enforcement and additional programs whose aims include reducing crime and recidivism, and lastly, encourage individuals who have suffered from mandatory minimum sentencing and whose lives have been harmed by these practices to be constructive. To achieve their goal of fair sentencing, FAMM advocates for their objectives on a state and national level. Sometimes FAMM gets involved in appeals and works with lawyers, however most of the time FAMM just does presentations for governmental positions such as Congress or the U.S. Supreme court, asking for change. In addition, FAMM encourages people to call their local representatives and spread the word, realizing there is strength in numbers ( Sentencing that, 2014). There are several ongoing projects working towards their goal. The Massachusetts Project is an initiative where FAMM is working on changing drug sentencing laws and the for the Florida Project FAMM is working on drug and gun laws where there are no alternatives other than minimum sentences. Without further adieu we welcome Professor Trent Starr from the University of Harvard. Trent graduated from Bucknell University where he received his PHD in cancer studies. • 9. Personal Reflection Of Personal Goals In The Honey Whiskey... When I began pursuing my MFA in writing, I knew what I wanted my thesis to be, I just needed some guidance in order to get there. I had completed my first novel, Seeking Signs, which weaves a narrative around an Iowa crime in 1913 and won the Midwest Book Award for historical fiction from the Midwest Independent Publishers Association in 2013. The research and writing that went into it caused me to fall in love with the process and look for another challenge, one even more complex than the first. Through my MFA pursuits, I wanted to hone my research skills, improve my ability to establish vivid historical imagery, and gain a solid foothold on the voice necessary to tell my next tale. My goals for the second novel, The Honey Whiskey Murders, began with exploring untapped research avenues. While I had a plot in mind, I knew it was important to stay open to the unexpected places the information took me. The research that went into the project was so entertaining, it was sometimes difficult to force myself to sit down and write. I read Murder and Mayhem in Clinton County, Iowa, a book published by the Clinton County historical museum which includes a compilation of all newspaper articles covering both solved and unsolved murders from the area dating back to the mid 1800s. The case of Homer and Rosela Brownfield is one of many unsolved murders in my home county. The Brownfield murders made headlines as far away as Ohio; these reports sensationalized the crime with statements ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Summary Of The Film She ` S Beautiful When She s Angry She s Beautiful When She s Angry, directed and produced by Mary Dore, is a film that documents the struggles that women within the United States endure concerning the historical lack of women s rights. Prior to the Women s Rights Movement in the 1960 s and 1970 s, a number of stereotypes about women existed within society that limited both their personal and professional progression. She s Beautiful When She s Angry a modern adaptation and documentary of this period of emotional strife pays tribute to the women who courageously fought in order to ensure that gender discrimination became an issue of America s past. For example, at the height of the Women s Rights Movement, women were very rarely seen within the sector of higher education; but today, however, women are more prevalent in higher education than at any other point in recent memory. Not only has higher education become more of an integral norm for women, but the increasing prominence of women within higher education is reflective of a fundamental societal shift women are no longer being forced to stay within the confines of their home, but are now able to focus on their education as well as their increasing job opportunities. Additionally, women have also become more prominent within the political realm both in terms of running for office and having the right to vote as well as the higher tiers of corporate America; which illustrates that, as time goes on, they are becoming increasingly more powerful and are being afforded a myriad of desirable positions and benefits that used to only be available for men. With the indisputable progression of women in mind, it becomes challenging to comprehend how a film like She s Beautiful When She s Angry can capitalize on its foundation of activism within the current societal climate. Although there are still and may always be various opinions regarding women s rights, it is clear that, since the Women s Rights Movement, women have been presented with countless opportunities that they would not have been able to take advantage of approximately 50 years ago. As a result, a film like She s Beautiful When She s Angry almost seems redundant, if not somewhat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many people have died from mining for various reasons such as the collapse of the mines as well as respiratory diseases caused by mining. Governments across the globe continue to implement regulations for the miners and populations surrounding the mines, but they have failed to eliminate health risks related to mining, which is nearly impossible. Mining permits used to be easy to obtain but under the Obama administration, the United States Environmental Protection Agency began conducting more reviews and now they have issued comprehensive guidance which was designed to strengthen requirements regarding mountain top removal (MTR) and other surface mining products (Holzman 2011). The more an organism is exposed to coal mining, the more health problems they will face. Simply being in the mines for certain duration of time can lead to several diseases such as dust disease otherwise known as Pneumoconiosis. • 16. Examples Of Structuralist Film Theory B. Theories From a different angle of view, the ultimate aim of culture/media theories is to provide theoretical/academic foundation to different genres within art and media. Likewise, there are several film theories aiming to provide theoretical framework to different genres within motion picture. Besides, these theories help to perceive the relationship between other genres within art and Hollywood movies. Structuralist Film Theory One can easily identify that this theory is interconnected with structuralism, especially related to structural linguistics. This theory claims that directors basically make use of different codes to construct meaning. For instance, different scenes are combined into a single story with the help of editing. If editing is not done, the viewers cannot perceive the directors codes or ideas. But in Hollywood films, utmost importance is given to editing because the directors know that editing can provide spontaneity to their films as a whole. Post structuralist Film Theory One can see that Post structuralism is basically an extension of structuralism, but with differences. For instance, a viewer ... • 17. Should Fund Programs Be Funded The Search For Extra... Understanding the heavens has been a continual mystery to humans. Throughout human history, individuals have been curious about life other than on planet Earth. The question that remains is if humanity is alone in the universe. This question is very important because after all, the universe is still expanding. In addition to the expansion of the universe, astronomers have discovered at least six potential habitable worlds in our own solar system (CITE). It is natural to wonder if other worlds might also have intelligent life and civilizations. Many claims have been made that we have already been visited by aliens in UFOs, however, while plenty of evidence has been offered for scientific examination so far none of it has been enough to convince us that the claims of visitations are real (Bennett, 260). However, this doesn t mean that there is no intelligent life beyond our home planet. Due to this, taxpayers should fund programs to begin the search for extra terrestrial life in the universe. The reason why there should be programs that fund the search for extra terrestrial life in the universe is because extra terrestrial life can help enhance our understanding of the universe. Where ever extra terrestrial beings are located in space they can enhance our understanding of the universe. This is because we are the newcomers in the universe and extra terrestrial beings can potentially be around since the time our universe was created, which was 14 billion years ago (Bennett,1 ). ... Vertical integration is the process of combining firms, usually under a single ownership, that are different parts of a larger production scale. This could be anything from two firms to all of the firms that make up the supply chain. Due to combining multiple smaller firms, this form of integration has an effect on the market power that the firm(s) has (Riordan, 2008). This differs to horizontal integration which is the combination of firms or expansion of a single firm at one particular point of the production process (Black, Hashimzade, Myles, 2009, p. 206 7). Although they will have a consistent buyer for their products the subsidiaries will have to receive a lower unit price for their products as a result of bringing down their costs after the integration. This is not a negative as the demand for their product is consistent and the fall in market price will be proportional to the fall in costs. As well as Smithfield, other meat and poultry production firms have benefitted from having highly integrated production chains such as Tyson, ConAgra and Swift (Pepall, Richards, Norman, 2008, p. 449). The integration of these firms is consistent with Lieberman s views (1991, p. 452) of why upstream integration may take place. The main reason which is applicable to this situation is that if the inputs in question account for a large proportion of total cost (which animals being bred for meat will do) then the downstream firm is more likely to integrate. Although all these firms are highly integrated and could offer much lower prices than they already do to the consumers they choose not to. • 33. Art Museum Analysis When walking into the freshly built art museum of West Virginia University one can automatically feel a sense of serenity. The spacing of the art pieces and the way the light hit them makes you want to take your time and examine every detail each work has to offer. It gives you no other choice but to give your full, undivided attention to one piece at a time. The way this museum was designed made it so I almost forgot about the rest of my day. Where I had to be later, what class I had, when I had to be in for work, all of those everyday thoughts and worries seemed to disappear when walking through those doors. The piece that really stood out to me was a work by Thomas Cole. Cole s piece caught my eye due to the simplicity of it. He took something as simple as a landscape and made it extremely detailed and organic. If you take the time to look closely you can almost see where he made each individual brush stroke. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though those seem to be bold, you can see the delicate detail put into each section making the piece flow beautifully. His strokes are smooth, yet uneven, giving the piece an interesting twist. The background offers a somewhat ominous sky, using what seems to be only whites and greys. The background seems to be the most muted part of the piece whereas the middle ground really grabs your attention with its vibrant colors. Cole uses yellow and muted brown to pop against the hues of green in the trees. These pops of color among the tree scape really make this the focal point of the piece. The foreground offers a very earthy feel with a simplistic pasture. Broken colors of green and brown are used to display the ongoing naturalistic feel this work displays. Towards the right of the piece you can see some sort of animal. Cole being a famous American landscape artist would make it only obvious to have animals in some of his ... By using verbatim theatre, The Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project attempts to portray the true story and opinions of Matthew Shepard s death and the citizens of Laramie, Wyoming. The University Theatre production of The Laramie Project was directed by Drew Sutherland and also included many talented actors and designers. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although I did not have to input different changes like I had to during tech week, I did have to pay attention and fulfill my other responsibilities that come along with being the lighting board operator. One of the most nerve wracking aspects that came along with the responsibilities of being the lighting board operator was that before every show, I had to perform a channel check and make sure that every single light used in the show was working and check to see if any of the gels had to be replaced. As I mentioned earlier, I had little experience with lighting, so it was always difficult for me to be absolutely sure that everything was in check. I had a constant fear of not checking one of the lights correctly, which would cause at least one moment in the show to not appear exactly how the lighting designer envisioned it would be. Luckily, nothing to that degree ever occurred during the whole process of the production and from where I was sitting, the lighting appeared to be as it was supposed to be. One of the most difficult cues to initiate was the lighting cue that started the follow cues for the moment, Gem City . The stage manager called the lighting and sound cues for Gem City at the same time and the lighting designer also made each follow cue a very specific amount of time in order to properly align with the sound of the static noise. If I pressed the go button even ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Terror In Horror Genres Summary Chadwick Jordan #830282211 2/9/16 Final Draft Analyzing and Evaluating Nicole Birch Bayley s Terror in Horror Genres Nicole author of Terror in Horror Genres: The Global Media and the Millennial Zombie, sets out to prove our political and cultural objectives, are inherently violent, reflective of our culture and manifested thru the media. In fact, she states the media is responsible for this shift reflected in zombie films as the crisis culture. I have issue with the amount of influence Nicole has given the media. Nicole jammed packed her article with evidence that we will go over, compare and then arrive at a conclusion. First let s take a look at the parallels mentioned in the movies with our current culture. The very first zombie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 2007 Juan Carlos introduced a sequel to Danny s 28 days called 28 weeks later. Ironically it is more extreme than the first. Fresnadillo centers on what Snyder did, not necessarily the fear of violence but the fear of societies ability to suppress the violence. This helps propel these films forward, and this influence comes from the director not the media. Since Romero s 1978 Dawn of the Dead classic the film zombies are almost too alive, running, jumping, and screaming. News masters feed us images of violence and urgent threats on a regular basis, why not create zombies that mimic the same. Danny Boyle certainly took advantage of this emerging market around the world. Diary of the Dead is different from other millennial zombie flicks in terms of how explicitly it centers on global media. Jason Creed made a like documentary called Death of Death, which is about the global media mania, spin doctrine, and the reality of international crisis. • 39. Listening And Classical Music At An Early Age Helps Make... Introduction The Mozart Effect is the concept that listening to classical music at an early age helps make children smarter. It has long been held that learning a musical instrument also helps develop the brain differently, and can improve math ability specifically. Over the past two decades people have wondered whether or not the Mozart effect really works. Will listening to classical music or learning how to play an instrument increase a person s intelligence? If so, how does it affect a person s intelligence? Dean Keith Simonton presented a chart in The Science of Genius, both Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven were considered geniuses and they are both composers of classical music. This article made me think what if listening to classical music affects a person s intelligence, or could learning to play an instrument help a person s intelligence? Also, what led me to this area of investigation was that my dad always played classical music for me since I was born, and when I had to take an IQ test I scored a 132, so I wanted to know if listening to classical music over the years has helped me to become smarter. The Mozart effect can improve a person s spatial memory after listening to classical music for about fifteen minutes a day, every day. Analysis Evaluation According to Wagner for the Womb, written by Rosalind Lai, music has been around for more than 165,000 years ago. During that time, our ancestors had already created percussion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Factors That Implement Our Way Of Thinking Many factors implement our way of thinking, but some tend to be more important than others. Age is a factor, depending on your age often determines how serious you are and what your needs are. For instance, being an adolescent you are going through stages of puberty and forming into an adult. Your needs then tend to be impacted by your peers at school, and what is cool. Most adolescents seek intimacy, communication, empathy and identity, your needs will definitely be different than a thirty five year old seeking a marriage partner. All through history, the picture of a beautiful lady, and an attractive man, has fluctuated. Perceptions of beauty do not only vary by culture but have also evolved throughout time.In Ancient Egypt around 1292 1069 B.C., the ideal women had narrow shoulders, a high waist, symmetrical face, and was thin. Throughout Ancient Egypt the society back then was considered a sex positive setting, where pre marital sex took place and was considered adequate. Old Greeks considered women beautiful, if they had a full rounded shape, full bodied, and had light skin. The Han Dynasty (206 B.C. 220 A.D.) women in this culture were viewed as perfect in the event that they had expansive eyes, fair skin, small feet and a little midriff. Likewise, long dark hair, white teeth, and red lips. Throughout the time of the Italian Renaissance, women were viewed beautiful if they had full hips, fair skin, a rounded stomach and an apple blossom, as well as light hair. ... • 41. The Stonewall Riot of 1969 While it was barely a kernel of activism against the immense backdrop of advocacy during the 1960 s and 70 s, the gay liberation movement was one of the most important challenges to the hierarchal structures of accepted moral and scientific thought. Functioning as a minor footnote within the context of a substantial political arena comprised of the issues of war, race and a raging women s liberation movement, gay liberation in the late twentieth century still sought to impress upon the marginalizing and sectarian constructions that subjugated gays to an imposed peripheral existence of personal and public abhorrence. The Stonewall Riot of 1969 signaled the start of a substantial social movement, the dissemination of which would permeate the gay community and call into action an assault on the mechanisms of social order, public legislation and cultural dispositions that sustained a framework of persecution against homosexual men and women. The efforts of gay liberation activists during the sexual revolution of the late twentieth century made possible the near expulsion of constraints on sexual expression and gave way to a new rhetoric of pride and affirmation. For some gay men and women, just being a homosexual in the late 20th century meant being a part of the movement no political agenda necessary. Sexual politics, after all, have a visceral quality that isn t easy to ignore, which D Emilio and Freedman attest to when they recognize that gayness itself symbolized an ...
