In all honesty, I don t know which emotion takes precedence. I have a certain soft spot for
Dystopian novels, and on that factor this book did not disappoint but there were also some big
issues I had with the plot. Usually, I wouldn t mind if there was no explanation as to why the

Sarene is a protagonist in a stand alone novel by Brandon Sanderson. The world of the novel is a
fantasy world with a medieval setting that is depicted in many fantasy novels. Sarene is a
princess of the country of Teod and arranges the political marriage of herself to the prince of
Arelon. As a princess, she develops her political savvy and becomes an ambassador for her
country at a very young age. Sarene diverges further from the typical female royal of this world, as

differs from her own. This unapologetic representation of a manipulative and politically savvy
female characters sets Sarene apart from the overly righteous female savior that can be seen in
many female driven stories. The story depicts romance, but this is such a small aspect of the story
and of Sarene s character that it does not impact Sarene s impact in the genre or character type. The

In the novel, Out Stealing Horses by Per Petterson, a 67 year old man named Trond who lives in
solitude in Norway reflects back on the summer of 1948 where several significant events changed
his life. It follows his progression of growing up and starting to understand more about the people
and surroundings that revolve around his life and how they ve shaped him into becoming a mature
and wise man. Eventually, he realizes the truth that growing up is inevitable and accepts the fact

imagery of water to show how Trond s familiarity and interactions with the river reflects his gradual

On February 20, 2014 I was in a car accident. I was only 17 years old, and I was in the 11th grade.

In Summer Life , Gary Soto takes the reader through a guilt filled day from his childhood. He

Summer Life starts and ends with biblical allusions, giving the reader exposition without literally
describing Soto s upbringing and values. He knows enough about hell and is holy in every bone
, letting us infer that he comes from a very religious family and likely attends Sunday school.
This gives us the reason why he is so nervous before stealing it and why he becomes consumed
by guilt later. It s not just wrong on an ethical level in society, but it is a sin, something that can

been employed with Company X for two years. Employee A s spouse gave birth prematurely to
twins. He requested leave to be with his spouse, which was granted. Employee A has been on
leave for 11 weeks, and has asked to return to work, and to be paid the withheld salary from his
11 week leave. The previous department manager left the company during Employee A s leave.
The new manger has agreed to Employee A s return to the previous job, at the previous rate of
pay. But, the manager has denied the request for the 11 weeks of withheld salary. 1.Relevant
Facts of Situation A. Employee A has been employed with Company X for two years. Employee
A has requested FMLA as he and his spouse have given birth to premature twins. While
Employee A was on FMLA, a change in department managers occurred. This change has no
bearing on Employee A s FMLA or his return. Employee A has requested to return to work after
using 11 weeks of the allowable 12 weeks of FMLA. Employee A is requesting that he be paid for
the 11 weeks he was on FMLA. The department manager has denied Employee A s request to be
paid for the 11 weeks of his FMLA leave period. Employee A is now appealing this decision.
