What Is The Most Memorable Moment In A Movie
Lights, Curtain, Action
The lights dimmed, the curtain lifted, and the actors came out. My excitement was growing, first
starting in my throat, then working its way to my stomach. The sound of the instruments filled the
theater as the actors start to sing in loud clear voices. This was how my most memorable moment in
my childhood started, at the Times Union Center Theater in the last week of February.
My interest in theater started when I was a little girl. In particular, it was a movie that started this love.
I can still remember the day my father brought home that movie, The Phantom of the Opera. It was the
first musical I watched that was not Disney. After watching it, I felt overwhelmed with all the
emotions expressed in the movie. Of course, being as young as I was then, I was unable to quite
understand the meaning in the movie but that was not a problem. I was more interested in the singing
and dancing that was shown throughout the movie. It was this musical that influenced me to pursue a
career in theater and movies.
Even though I loved the musical so much I never did see it live. My family could not afford to buy
tickets and very rarely did the show come to my hometown. That is until I was 17 when they came to
the Times Union Center in Jacksonville. My sister and I were thrilled, but instantly our excitement
died when we remembered that we do not have the money for tickets. The both of us decided to start
coming up with ways to earn money, such as extra chores and odd jobs around the neighborhood.
Slowly but surely we began to earn money.
By the end of December, we were still short a couple hundred bucks and seats were selling out
quickly. It was Christmas Day when the most wonderful thing happened. My family was opening up
presents and it was my turn to open mines. My father handed me this large present and inside was a
slightly smaller present and inside that was an even smaller present which inside contained an
envelope. Inside of that envelope was a Christmas card with the inside saying Soak up this moment!
Clipped to the side of the card was three tickets to The Phantom of the Opera. I was overjoyed, I let
out a little squeal and could not stop thanking my parents. Finally, I can see the

Causes Of The Missouri Compromise Of 1820
The Missouri Compromise of 1820
The Missouri Compromise of 1820 helped to mend the relationship between the north and south. All
the states in the Union were in an argument over what the new states should be free or slave states.
With the conflict steadily rising a congressman came up with a solution to alleviate the tension. This
compromise set the tone for the rest of the civil rights time period. It ended after holding peace for a
few decades. The Missouri Compromise of 1820 relieved the intensity of the problems between free
and slave states political power.
The north and south have been arguing over slavery since 1787 when the constitution was signed and
our government came to be. Before the westward expansion began, it was ... Show more content on

However, to balance out the political power, Maine, who had wanted to be its own state for some time
now, would be added as a free state. The second part of the compromise was that an imaginary line
would be drawn along the southern border of Missouri. This imaginary line would become the
dividing line between free and slave states in the North and South and be known as the 36° 30° line.
The North would not be allowed to have slaves, and the South would have slaves. Both sides were
okay with the Compromise because both sides benefitted from it. The Compromise was finally
approved by President James Monroe on March 6, 1820. The signing of this document change slavery
in the United States. The peace from this Compromise in the states lasted for nearly three decades.
The Compromise of 1820 changed a lot of things about new states entering the Union. With westward
movement being such a big deal during this time frame, it created a few complications. Starting out, in
theory, it was a good idea. However, All the new states would be divided into 2 factions based on their
beliefs on slavery. Where you lived determined what your view on slaves and how you felt about
slavery.
The Compromise only lasted a few decades before complications arose. At the start, a free state was
admitted for every slave state that was admitted, and vice versa. California violated this when they
were admitted as a free state in

The Connection between Sentence Comprehension and Motor...
There is contemporary evidence that some language tasks that require an individual to comprehend
action words (e.g. walk) and nouns of manipulable objects (e.g.. mug) activate regions on the motor
cortex. This event is recognized as motor resonance. However, this phenomenon challenges present
theoretical explanation of word comprehension. There are two dominant perceptions which are
followed in cognitive psychology. The first account is that individuals understand words such as chew
from previous practice; therefore, for one to comprehend a word they must consider the prior actions
and experiences that are connected with that word. The second explanation is an alternative where the
word evokes an action. The actions become an automatic byproduct after an individuals resolves the
connotation of the word. A recent study conducted by Masson, Bub, and Lavelle at the University of
Victoria, examines the degree to which context controls the action representations elicited by a word.
The goal of the research question was to gain a deeper understanding of the connection between motor
resonance and sentence comprehension. This was analyzed through action representations that are
dependent on grasping an manipulable object such as cellphone, wine glass, pencil, hairspray, etc. The
two action representations were volumetric (V) actions and functional (F) actions. Volumetric actions
function to lift or a move an object, whereas, functional actions implement the expected function

The Role Of Medical Experiments In The Holocaust
When most people think of the holocaust, they think of people being forced into concentration camps,
they think of Jews and Nazis, they think of cruelty and death. But what most people don t think of, is
all the experiments that went on, all the medical experiments. The Nazi doctors wanted to find cures
for medical conditions that most everyone wanted to cure, but these doctors went about finding the
cure a little differently. They would take prisoners they had and experiment on them in ways of cruelty
hard to even imagine. This will only be about one of the many experiments done, the freezing and
hypothermia experiments. Doctor Sigmund Rascher was the one overseeing this particular experiment,
he mainly conducted the experiments at Dachau (Holocaust on Trial http://www.pbs.org). He used
over 300 hundred people in his experiments, all of them prisoners in the concentration camps and all
of them young, strong Jews and/or Russians(Jewish Law Articles http://www.jlaw.com) . He had two
parts to his experiment, how long it took to freeze to death, and what the best way to revive a person
was (Remember.org http://remember.org/educate/medexp). To freeze a person, they were either left
outside, naked, or submerged in a vat of freezing ice water, also naked (Remember.org

Even now, just reading about it happening makes it hard to believe these were actually people being
put through these tortuous events. Maybe that made it easier for Dr. Rascher, or maybe he didn t care
in the first place. Either way, over 80 people died in this one experiment alone (Holocaust on Trial
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/holocaust/experiside.html)
. Who knows how many others died in other experiments. How many were permanently damaged or
changed in some way. Whose lives were destroyed. And many of the experimenters felt no remorse

Apple iPods Changed the Way we Listen to Music
iPods have positively influenced the way people all over the world listen to and share music in the
blink of an eye. Since Apple introduced the first iPod in 2001, 350 million iPods have been sold as of
September 2012. That s enough iPods for every single person in the United States to have their own
device with twenty million still left over. Those are some pretty staggering numbers, considering more
iPods are sold every second.
The iPod has seven main parts: hard drive, battery, click wheel, display, microprocessor, video chip,
and audio chip. Older models of the iPod (with the click wheel) have a hard drive. On the inside of the
device, the hard drive is made up of platters, spindle motors, heads and head actuators. Platters are
little disks that are covered with a magnetic surface and then placed on a spindle. The disks have a
cobalt alloy substance applied to them which is placed on the platter by electroplating. Digital
information is stored on the disks and information is written on the disks by electromagnetic flux
through read write heads that change the polarization. As the platter rotates, the magnetic fields move
and the read write head senses electrical change between the moving magnetic fields.
The iPod has a small Liquid Crystal Display (more commonly known as an LCD). The molecules in
the liquid crystals in the screen go through multiple changes, one being the nematic phase. The twisted
nematic is manipulated when the electric current is applied to it.

Minor Characters in Ragged Dick
The Role of Minor Characters in Ragged Dick
It is impossible for the minor characters in Ragged Dick to have a fair chance at being recognized as
decent members of society because of the emphasis Horatio Alger Jr. places on Dick Hunter. The
better qualities of Dick are constantly being reminded to the reader, giving them little room to disagree
with Alger s heroic portrayal of him. Horatio Alger Jr. s preference to homosexuality also reflects his
choice in excluding any useful female characters in his novel. Minor characters lack understanding
from readers because information surrounding them is absent, causing them to be judged on face value
alone. Alger writes Ragged Dick to try and show how respectability can come forth through ... Show

Micky Maguire is another pawn which Alger plays in Ragged Dick in order to make Dick stand out
among the boot blacks and set him above the rest. Micky fits the typical description of a common boot
black in the city during the time in which Ragged
Dick was written. He seems to exemplify expected behaviour of a young boot black by his rough
exterior, involvement in fights, lack of money, and disregard for others including their property. Micky
Maguire is the enemy of the story, and it is clear that the hero must always rise above the bad
characters in order to provide a lesson with the story being told. Dick is known to keep his cool and
remain confident around Micky, even when a fight is breaking out between the two of them (Alger
94). While Micky is indeed a cruel boy as it seems, Dick does bring on some of the taunting himself
because of the cocky manner he upholds when speaking to Micky. Even with Dick being smart
mouthed toward Micky, there is not any sympathy towards Micky in the novel because of his ruffian
ways and rudeness towards Dick. Alger does not give Micky credit for why he acts like this towards
Dick nor does he establish a true reason why Micky turned out to be such a tough street boy. His
childish actions are likely caused by jealously over Dick and not because of sheer hatred (Alger 91).
Micky is not given chances like Dick and whether or not Alger sets it up so that option luck is a
rewarded behaviour,

The Cheyenne Tribes Of The Native American Indians
The Cheyenne was one of the most famous tribes of the Native American Indians. They lived on the
Great Plains in what is now South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas. During the
1800 s, the U.S. government forced the Cheyennes to move to Oklahoma. Today, there are two
Cheyenne tribes. The Southern Cheyenne live in Oklahoma while the Northern Cheyenne settle in
Montana.
The Cheyenne had an interesting culture and way of life. Boys were taught how to hunt, fish, and fight
from their fathers. Girls learned how to cook, clean, and do chores around the house. Also, the
children went to school and played with dolls, toys, and games. For example, the Cheyenne kids
enjoyed playing the hoop game and lacrosse. A Cheyenne woman was responsible for building her
family s house. She dragged heavy posts with her whenever the tribe moved. Later on, the Cheyenne
Indians killed buffalo so they could use buffalo hide to make teepees. They lived in teepees because it
was easy to set up and take down. As a result of moving frequently, a teepee allowed the Cheyenne
tribe to move within an hour. The Cheyenne women harvested corn, squash, and beans while the men
hunted deer and buffalo. Also, they ate fish, fruit, and berries. For clothing, the Cheyenne women
wore long deerskin dresses that were decorated with porcupine quills, shells, and elk teeth. Cheyenne
men wore breechcloths with leather leggings in colder climates. Men wore moccasins while the
women wore high fringed boots. Chief leaders had tall feather headdresses and long warbonnets. The
hair style for men was long braids with a topknot and women wore their hair loose or braided. The
Cheyennes painted their faces for war, religious ceremonies, and feasts. Lastly, the Cheyenne people
were very religious. They performed an elaborate Sun Dance, smoked peace pipes, built ceremonial
houses, and four arrows represented their sacred object.
The tribal government of the Cheyenne Indians was called the Council of Forty Four. It was formed
by ten bands of the tribe. The council was made up of four chiefs from each band as well as four Old
Man chiefs. Each chief served a ten year term. Every summer, the Council of Forty Four made
decisions

Government Regulation By The Private Sector Essay
Introduction
Today, our nation is under constant attack by hackers, terrorist groups and other enemies.
Unfortunately regardless of how innovative our government or private sectors have become with
securing the network systems, the frequency and intensity of the attacks have only increased. Over the
last decade, security breaches and cyber attacks have highlighted how dependent our nation is on its
critical infrastructure. It was concluded that a total of 54% of cyber attacks targeted the US in 2013
(Watkins, n.d). Through experiences such as September 11, 2001, it has become apparent how
interconnected our infrastructure is and the exposure to targeted attacks we face as a nation (Katen,
2004). With the private industry owning over 85% of our nation s critical infrastructure, it is important
for the government to create and maintain regulations which should be followed by all agencies and
private sectors in order to protect our national security. There are several concerns about government
regulation by the private sector and how it will affect their consumers privacy and the company s
finances. However, the Cybersecurity Act of 2015 ensures user s privacy while sharing information
between companies and agencies. Furthermore, there are several effects on national security resulting
from failure to comply with government regulation, meeting only the minimum requirements and
exceeding the minimum requirement. With that being said, it has become part of the private

How Does Liam O Flaherty Use Foreshadowing In The Sniper
In the story The Sniper by Liam O Flaherty is about a Republican sniper watching over Dublin,
Ireland. The story is set in the Irish Civil War. The author uses mood and foreshadowing to show and
tell that war tears families apart.
The central issue is about the Irish civil war and people killing and hurting each other. For example, in
the beginning it states Republicans and free staters were waging civil war. (1). This illustrates that
there is a civil war going on and people are dying for their side. Also, he uses foreshadowing because
in the story, it says The flash might be seen in the darkness, and there were enemies watching. He
decided to take the risk. (1). This shows/foreshadows his enemies seeing him and shooting at him, that
is significant because if he were to be shot and killed, his family would be mourning over his death
and they would have lost their son. Near the end of the story the author uses foreshadowing the death
of a friend or family member of his. He does this by saying in the story He wondered did he know
him... Then the sniper turned over the dead body ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two craft moves are irony and description. Irony shows that war is tearing families apart because in
the end it states Then the sniper turned over the dead body and looked into his brother s face (4).
There is irony there because the reader does not expect the main character to kill somebody that he
actually knew, let alone his brother. If the main character had known that it was his brother, then he
would not have shot and killed him. Liam O Flaherty also uses description in the story to emphasize
death of people and family members dying. For example, it states The old woman whirled round and
fell with a shriek into the gutter. People can infer that the old woman has a family back home, she
could have been a mother, a sister, or a wife, but she was killed in the war, destroying her family

The Concepts Of Contractionism By John Rawls And Political...
Abstract art steps back from reality to witness a world separate from the human experience. This
departure allows people to project their own meaning onto the piece. They all come from varying
backgrounds so their understandings of the art are all radically different. John Rawls attempts to apply
the same concepts of abstractionism into political philosophy to arrive at a set universal rules and
values. However, Rawls ultimately fails, giving rise to an either too limited or too vague theory of
justice. Rawls is not clear on how to access morality, who his theory applies to, and whether or not his
theory functions in reality.
Rawls acts to expand on the social contract making it more applicable to the needs of the least
advantaged. One of political philosophy s goals is for the government to find some underlying basis of
philosophical and moral agreement such that the citizens agree on its authority . He postulates the
current system of government, utilitarianism, is deeply flawed, because it allows for the continued
suffering of the most vulnerable in society as long as the majority benefits . Instead Rawls proposes
the veil of ignorance take its place. In this thought experiment, men are in the original position, in
which the parties do not know their conceptions of the good or their special psychological propensities
. He makes two general assumptions about human nature people are inherently self interested and they
are risk adverse. Thus, behind the veil, a

The Downfall Of Affirmative Action
Downfall of Affirmative Action Many colleges in United States are composed of an ethnically diverse
student body. One of the reasons why the student body is full of diversity is because of the Affirmative
Action. It is the policy that gives a special incentives to minorities and women to help promote
diversity in school. Though it is a great idea to promote diversity in every college in United States, it
is also a bad idea to continue this system. Many A students who are not minorities tend to get the same
treatment as the B students who are minorities. Although accepted into school, these students who
barely met the minimum criteria may have a tougher time at school because they may not be able to
keep up with the pace of the classes since the schools have high expectations of its students.
Furthermore, students who have worked hard to get good grades might be overlooked because the
students who have lower grades will be accepted simply to fulfill the quota. Although promoting
affirmative action is a great idea to seek diversity through different views from many different
ethnicities, it will also take away people s hard work, as well as producing more drop out students
since they cannot keep up with what the university is expecting from them. Therefore, it is not morally
justifiable or socially beneficial for the students since they may have a lower chance of succeeding at
school. Affirmative action will treat the majority students the same way as the minority

Use Of Literary Devices Throughout Ray Bradbury s The Veldt
Use of Literary Devices throughout Ray Bradbury s The Veldt
Ray Bradbury s personal life encounters and his use of universal literary devices throughout The Veldt
accentuate his frequent themes involving fear and harmful innovation. Bradbury s life experiences,
such as living during World War II, also played a major roll in his fearful theme decisions and sadistic
writing style. Bradbury incorporates multiple literary techniques into The Veldt including: metaphors,
foreshadowing, irony, imagery, personification, a simplistic writing style, allusions, and symbolism. In
The Veldt , he commonly uses metaphors, comparing how one item is like another, to foreshadow or
create an eerie tone. Bradbury also leaves out details of ranging importance to make his writing more
personable; this allows the readers to feel involved in the story. Bradbury directs a majority of his
attention on getting his point across using a simplistic writing style rather than bewildering his readers
with complex vocabulary and a perplexing structure. The Veldt alludes to multiple positively
correlated topics; this is a contrast to the dark themes of the story and slightly adds an additional
realistic sentiment to the story. This reaction subconsciously causes readers to become more attentive
to the disturbing atmosphere the writing is centered around. His use of symbolism contributes to the
tone of sinister tendencies in the The Veldt . Additionally, his use of personification and imagery

Research Methods in Sociology and Anthropology
By
Western Governors University
Abstract
Sociology and Anthropology rely upon investigational and research techniques. While some of these
may be similar they also differ. Each discipline has its own philosophical justification for their method
but any and all approaches to study the society s culture require some degree of fieldwork.
A. Research Methods in Sociology Scientifically studying human society s development, origins and
organizations/institutions is defined as Sociology. (Wikipedia, 2013). The methods of analysis and ...

Experimental research concentrates on how and why something happens. It is the evaluation of how
an independent variable (a manipulated factor) affects a dependent variable (an observed factor). The
outcome can be affected by a number of elements; obtaining random and representative samples of the
study population, experimenter bias and extraneous variables.
Bias as defined by the expectations of the researcher of what should or should not happen influencing
the results. Lack of control on extraneous variables may interfere with the results; only with careful
control on extraneous variables can valid conclusions about the effects of specific variables on other
variables be drawn. (CliffNotes). The philosophical justification for survey research is cost
containment with a large volume of research. It is also one of the most efficient and quick methods to
gather large amounts of information. Data analysis can be completed in a short period of time and
generalization is better, particularly when the representative sample is of a population. It also helps
elimination of bias in result interpretation as subjects have the ability to remain anonymous.
B. Research methods in Cultural Anthropology The study of cultural variation among humans and
collecting data regarding the impact of global economic and political processes on local cultural
realities is the cultural anthropology branch of anthropology. (Wikipedia, 2013).

Disadvantages Of Bicyclist
Bicyclists seem to want all the same privileges as a motor vehicle but not the responsibility. I have not
only witnessed numerous instances of bicyclists running stop signs, but also experienced a near
accident caused by a cyclist running a stop sign.
There could be numerous reasons why bicyclists run stop signs. One could be that they are completely
unaware of traffic laws. It also could be that they don t want to lose momentum by stopping and
having to start again, or they simply don t care. No matter the reason, they re endangering the other
people on the road. I find this very concerning and dangerous. If cyclists want to be treated equally
with motor vehicles, they should realize that they must also follow the same laws and face the same
penalties. When you strap on you re helmet and straddle you re bike you re now legally responsible to
follow the same rules of the road as an automobile.
When living in a large metropolitan city, there are an extreme amount of cars on the streets. This
contributes to smog, emissions, and a huge carbon footprint on mother earth. People are thankful for
others who take this into consideration and ride bicycles instead of driving, but this doesn t make the
bicyclist a better person, even though some of them act like it.
Living in a small town that may have only a few intersections with stoplights or stop signs, one may
feel freer to break the rules of the road, and the consequences are less harmful. When you run through
a stop sign in a

Competitive Advantage
Competitive advantages are strengths and strategies that keep a company ahead of its competitors. It is
hard to measure competitive advantage and harder to maintain it. Some competitive advantages are
fleeting. The successful companies are those that leverage their competitive advantage successfully
and repeatedly. As understood by us in the above example the competitive advantage that the
cyrptoses enjoy is a direct outcome of its natural habitat and hence the circumstantial gain over its
rivals. Cryptoses has strategically positioned and tactically planned its competitive advantage that
even though its fleeting, its competitive advantage is repetitive and successful. The other name for this
sort of competitive advantage could be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But nothing lasts for ever, as the market matures there are new entrants and it posses a threat to the
competitive advantage. (fig. 2) Gradually with the time competition starts meeting the customer
expectations and the competitive advantage tends to reduce. Example As the company that created the
spreadsheet for PCs, Lotus led the way through much of the 1980s with its 1 2 3. But Lotus did not
foresee the success that Windows would have and failed to develop a version of 1 2 3 for it until 1991.
By then Microsoft s Excel had moved in to dominate the market. The duration of the competitive
advantage is subjective, it depends on impact by the competitors affecting the source of competitive
advantage. Microsoft Corporation is in a class by itself when it comes to exploiting the source for
competitive advantage. IBM chose Microsoft in 1980 to write the operating system for its new
personal computers. Microsoft produced DOS for IBM and then licensed it to more than 100
companies turning out IBM clones. Since it knew more than anyone else about the operating system
for PCs, Microsoft had a head start on applications software like word processing and spreadsheet
programs. Over the years its applications programs became leaders. In the mid 1980s, Microsoft
developed the Windows operating system, giving PCs some of the power and ease of use that had
been associated with Apple computers. Microsoft

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, or Erythematous, also known as SLE, is a chronic inflammatory,
autoimmune disease that transpires when the body s own immune system assaults, with variable
manifestations , it s own tissues and organ systems throughout the itself1,2,3. This can also include
joints, heart, lungs, skin, brain, blood cells, etc1. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is known to have an
impact on the organ network involved with immune complexes and multiple antibodies, especially
antinuclear antibodies, or ANAs, an abnormal antibody that is targeted to cause certain edemas
throughout the body and different tissues4. Like lightning or tiger stripes, no two diagnoses of
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus are exactly alike. Some signs and symptoms might be mild, while
others could be more severe, occurring suddenly or possibly developing slowly over time1. Cases of
SLE could be a permanent fixture in an individual s life, or could be temporary, decreasing in
occurrence or symptoms in women during and after menopause1. Fatigue is one of the more common
signs and symptoms in close to 80% of the cases reported, which in turn leads to decreased physical
activity and subsequently a lessened ability to execute activities of daily living because of the decline
of isometric strenght2,4. Because of the fatigue and having lower dynamic muscle strength , impeded

The Message in the Music Essay
The Message in the Music
Music means many different things to many different people. To a listener, a song is sometimes for
four simple minutes of entertainment, but sometimes it is much more. Sometimes, a song is a message
from the artist. This is much the same way from the opposite end of the spectrum. An artists message
can get so complex that it is completely lost on the listener.
This essay is about song analysis. I will be analyzing two songs performed by the same artist but
performed with two different bands. Although performed by different groups, the music is similar and
so is the message. The two bands being examined are Tool and A Perfect Circle. These are both
considered rock bands and work within the same industrial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The second verse contains the line, You told us you werent afraid to die. Well then, so long. This line
seems to be less criticizing than the first, but still is telling Jesus that after all this time of preaching
how much he would sacrifice, he is now going to have to live up to his promise or to die for it.
Another line in this verse is,Not all martyrs see divinity. But at least you tried. Here, the singer is
almost being sympathetic with Him, saying his cause was a valiant effort and claiming him to be a
martyr, someone who suffers for a cause or sacrifices his or her life for a great purpose. Although they
say that He wont reach the higher state of divinity, they still acknowledge his effort.
The third verse goes back to the original tone of the song by criticizing the Lord, this time by saying
that he blamed all things that were evil on other people. This is expressed though the line, Ranting and
pointing his finger. At everything but his heart. The part about his heart doesnt come off as an
emotional or spiritual metaphor, but rather a literal accusation that He never turned the blame on
Himself and always pointed His finger away.
It is in the forth verse when the artist turns from speaking about Jesus in a third person to the first
person. To me, this is more personal and angry than the first three verses. In these three lines, the artist
claims that Jesus had told him something, maybe

Gross Domestic Product Is The Value Of Goods Produced And...
Gross Domestic Product, also known as GDP, is defined as the value of goods produced and services
provided in a country during one year. Gross Domestic Product is important in the culture of
economics because in the United States, we use it to measure the well being of the economy. Gross
Domestic Product is measured in quarters, there are four quarters in one economic year. Say the Gross
Domestic Product is down 10% in Quarter One and then in Quarter Two the Gross Domestic Product
has gone up by 15%. You subtract 15% from 10% and then you are left with 5%. Therefore, the
economy, or the Gross Domestic Product, has grown by 5% since the last quarter. If the Gross
Domestic Product was never measured, we as Americans would not know if the economy was
growing, shirking, or staying the same.
On news channels like FOX News, FOX Business Network, CNN, and MSNBC we hear them talking
about the nation s economy and the gross domestic product all the time. On shows like Neil Cavuto,
they have guest on the show to discuss the current gross domestic product and how it s either
improved or diminished over the past years or quarters. In 2010, on Neil Cavuto s FOX Business

The Unkonwn Whereabouts of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370
The unknown whereabouts of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 that disappeared on March 8, 2014, has
left the families of the over 200 passengers aboard heartbroken and devastated. Thus far, rescue units
have failed to locate the massive Boeing 777 commercial jet, or any of the 227 passengers and 12
flight crew on it. This catastrophic event happened, and is failing to be solved, because of the lack of
necessary aircraft tracking, the struggle of knowing where to look, and what faith to lean on and
aircraft equipment failure.
Black boxes are modern electronic devices used now a days in some vehicles you see on the roads and
also aircrafts such as the Boeing 777 used for flight MH370. They gather and store important
information about the vehicles speed, altitude, time of day and engine conditions. The purpose of this
device is to solve any reasoning behind plane crashes, as the black box has enough information to
accurately tell you what went wrong, and why. So if a black box could be the answer to solving what
went wrong with this flight, then why hasn t it been solved yet? A modern plane like the Malaysia

and yet the [black box] is connected to nothing. While it s up in the real clouds, the [black boxes]

David Suzuki Diversity Is Strength
Pluralistic superiority is a pervasive concept existing in a significant portion of the Westernized world,
enforcing the notion that multi cultural, multi ethnic, and multi national ideologies are inextricably
related with societal and economic progress, exemplified by the myopic and unsubstantiated quotation
Diversity is Strength from the current incumbent of Canada s position of prime minister. The
fundamental issue with this perspective is its inability to properly process anterior information related
to alternate states, and the orthodox prerequisites involved in the ascension of relevant nation states by
creating such an axiomatic statement which purportedly embodies the quixotic goals of a state. As a

An intrinsic issue related to David Suzuki s postulation that diversity of all variants is useful to the
perpetuation of the is his intentional disregard for the biological notion of conflict within ecosystems,
specifically pertaining to invasive species and the ecosystems (and entities inhabiting the ecosystem)
which are the recipients of said invasion; if a species is relocated to an ecosystem and possesses traits
which fundamentally do not align with the synergistic and symbiotic nature of the ecosystem , there
exists a ubiquitous consequence for the denizens who are accustomed to the relatively static nature of
their environment. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem
equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the
predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this, historically, results in
the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary inhabitants and incompatibly invasive)
and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to manifest in both active and passive
assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the
disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure . Present within both a biological and socio
cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem, and operating within the confines of such
permits a higher degree of success when approaching multi culturalism, but attempting to implement
the unrestricted proliferation of any species or culture within an environment, as proselytized by
David Suzuki, is not functional. An example of such would be introducing the Andean bear into the
environment of the Asiatic black bear, in

Von Willebrand Disorder, abbreviated as VWD, is the most common inherited bleeding disorder. Erik
von Willebrand, a Finnish scientist, first discovered it in the 1920s. Carried on the twelfth

form blood clots slower, resulting in prolonged bleeding. As a lifelong condition without a cure, it can
come with serious health hazards. Roughly one percent of the U.S. population, or one out of one
hundred to a thousand people, have this ailment. However, other bleeding disorders, such as

The severity of symptoms does not depend on the type of VWD a patient has; although, the intensity
of signs does vary from person to person (Introduction). The most common sign of this disease,
excessive or abnormal bleeding, is often overlooked as a symptom. Abnormal bleeding consists of:
blood in urine or stool, bleeding from shaving with a razor or a comparable injury, frequent and
lengthy nosebleeds, bleeding from the gums, increased menstrual flow, and excessive bleeding from a
cut or following a tooth extraction or other dental procedures. Severe enough bleeding can threaten a
patient s life if doctors can control the blood loss. Though rare, internal organs and joint damage can
occur from serious bleeding (Facts about). Some patients may not realize their condition until
experiencing excessive bleeding after a surgical procedure or serious trauma. Another sign, frequent
and easy bruising, can come from minor bumps or injuries. These bruises may develop small lumps
under the skin. More severe symptoms include spontaneous bleeding in both soft tissue and joints.

Advantages Of Privatization Of Air Traffic Control In Usa
Privatize air traffic control in USA
Introduction
Air traffic control involves the directing of aircraft on the ground through the use of airspaces and
advising the planes in non controlled skies. Currently, control of air traffic in the United States is done
by the federal aviation administration. The current President Donald Trump has proposed to privatize
the exercise. Moving the task to a non profit organization will benefit America in various ways. Most
importantly, it will modernize equipment s and training making the process more efficient.
Additionally, it will ensure a more stable funding for the operation thus enhancing sufficient security.
From the benefits of privatization of air traffic control in the USA, it is imperative that the legislators
fully support the move.
Discussion
Privatization of air traffic control in the United States will significantly contribute to the
modernization of the system. With the current management of air traffic control by the federal aviation
(FAA) administration, it is impossible to modernize the system. FAA can easily be manipulated by
politicians since they are not independent institutions thereby making it possible to move agenda of
the organization forward. For instance, embezzlement of funds is likely making it almost impossible
to purchase modern equipment s that can help in the running of the systems. However, allowing the
process to be controlled by a non profit organization will enhance

The Impact of the Industrial Revolution on Western Society
The Industrial Revolution had a significant impact on Western society and the effects were numerous
and mainly positive. The Industrial Revolution began in England in the 1790 s and spread throughout

almost every aspect of daily life and human society in some way. During this time period, widespread
transportation such as railroads became available and important for the movement of goods and
people. Also, new social reforms came about, dealing with critical issues including that of child labor.

under ten years of age was to be employed underground in the mines. The factory acts allowed for a
more modern day pattern of work in which men were expecting to be the main wage earners. The
Industrial Revolution increased the awareness of human rights of women and children, and therefore,
accelerated the process of equality in society.
An additional effect of the Industrial Revolution on Western society was the improvement in living
standards for people. The invention of the steam engine, run by coal, allowed factories to be located in
cities and no longer by water. This resulted in people flocking to these densely populated cities for job
opportunities and in turn, eventually led to bad living conditions for many of the inhabitants. It was
believed filthy living conditions in cities were a chief cause of epidemic diseases such as cholera. In

Reflection Of The FilmPaper Man, By John Kahrs
The short film, Paper man , by John Kahrs is a genuine reflection on his world. The way this is
depicted is through his exploration use of magic, the amazing symbolism of the colour used and the
service of sound. The representation of these allows, the audience to be more thankful to this film and
understand its diversity in the world that it once was.
Paper man , is presented in a reflection of the world through the exploration use of magic. This is best
illustrated through the world of 2012 because of how black and white the world was. This film was
created explaining and unfolding the world to a black and white film which gives it a sense of a
romantic genre. As the use of magic is portrayed, the audience get a feeling of hope and happiness as
we too feel the realistic emotions as the main character in this short film. Three quarters if the way
through, when things are looking down and sad, the little spark we call Disney starts up and help two
people rekindle the love at first sight. The use of magic makes the audience feel as though nothing is
as it seems, that things can get better and to always, always, believe in yourself and never give up.
Nonetheless, this film represents the world at the time through the use of magic!
This films diversity and reflection of the world has dramatically changed based on the range of colour
this film offers. The portrayal of the film is based on the way colour has genuinely symbolised the
significance. The little bit of

Political Rhetoric
How Form Highlights Lack of Logic in Political Rhetoric next to of course god america i, a poem by
E.E Cummings is a political speech written in the form of a sonnet. The last line of the poem, He
spoke. And drank rapidly a glass of water signifies to the reader that the first thirteen lines of the poem
which is in quotation marks is a speech given to an audience. The poem is filled with patriotic songs
in the first and second quatrain that echo common political rhetoric. The lines of the poem
demonstrate poor command of language, which contradicts the expectations for a political speech,
which is expected to be intelligent and written or spoken in proper and formal language. The poem has
empty exclamatory words and uses metaphors that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The politician in this poem is ignorant of his language. Cummings arrangement highlights a common
attribute of politicians. Their address to the public usually has no meaning, makes no logical sense and
is filled with empty words like those used by the speaker in this poem. Cummings attracts the reader s
attention to this political situation by the gap in the last line of the poem, He spoke. And drank a glass
of water. He spoke is a complete sentence and the only place in the poem with punctuation. The
completeness of the sentence creates a space between it and the continuation of the line, And drank
rapidly a glass of water. The gap here makes the reader think about what He says. It becomes more
apparent to the reader that the speaker does not communicate any message. The speaker does not
inform the audience but only tries to stir them up emotionally through his recital of common patriotic

What Is The Psychological, Social And Cultural Aspects Of...
From the time we are born, we are taught the correct way to act within society. We are taught the rules
of conduct of society and we learn to follow them in order to be socially normal. The second we are
born or even before we are born we are determined a gender. The rest of our life and the way we are
expected to act revolves around that gender. Our gender shapes who we are expected to be and shapes
an image in our parents head of who they want us to be. Gender plays a key role throughout our life, it
is defined as the psychological, social and cultural aspects of masculinity and femininity (butler
sweet,c,2017). Masculinity and femininity have been standardized into their own stereotypes. For
example, masculine is known as aggression, competitive, brave, etc. While feminine is known as
sensitive, weak, nurturing, etc. Because of these traits and these stereotypes masculinity holds a higher
power over femininity. Therefore, when the parents have the child and they find out what gender they
are they automatically uphold them and raise them according to these standards. This begins to refer to
gender socialization which is the process by which we learn the rules and conduct the behavior of
masculinity and femininity (butler sweet,c,2017). Meaning, that from a young age, we learn the
correct way to act within society, including the correct way to act according to our biological gender.
Once our parents know if we are a boy or a girl they decorate our room a certain way,

Bill Of Right At The International Level
Bill of rights
The idea of a bill of right at the international level was conceived at the time of framing the charter of
the U.N.at the San Francisco conference in 1945, at which the organization was established. President
Truman of the US in his closing speech to the conference stated that under the charter we have good
reason to expect the framing of an international bill of rights, acceptable to all the nations involved.
That bill of rights will be as much part of international life as our own bill of rights is a part of our
constitution. (1) International bill of human rights consists of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF
HUMAN RIGHTS (UDHR), the international covenant on civil and political rights along with its
protocol and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also emphasized the need for international protection of human rights. The conscience of human
beings worldwide was shocked by Mussolini s fascist government of Italy, the Spanish civil war and
the Franco regime. The most significant formulation of this vision of a new international legal order
was the message to the US congress, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in January 1941 in which he
referred to the four freedoms : freedom of speech and expression, freedom of worship, freedom from
want and freedom from fear which were among the foundations upon which planning for the united
nation was started. In 1945 at the San Francisco Conference, where the UN Charter was finally
drafted, several actors contributed to the greater emphasis on human rights. Although the suggestion
of creating a commission on human rights was controversial among the great powers, the US finally
achieved its adoption. Thus, a commission on human rights was the only one explicitly mentioned in
the UN charter, and consequently, the human rights issue had got a flying start within the United
Nations. United nation was formally established on 24th October 1945.Human rights issue were
assigned to the economic and social council (ECOSOC), at the first session of which the nuclear
commission on human rights was set up. This commission met in April/May 1946 and made
recommendation on composition and terms of reference. These matters were finally decided by the
ECOSOC s second session, in which full

Pros And Cons Of Plant Reproduction System
1.0 Plant Reproduction System
Plant reproduction is the process of reproducing a certain species of plant continuing its existence. A
plant is made up of organs and cells that help it reproduce sexually or asexually. Both reproduction
methods having its advantages and disadvantages. 1.1 Plant Reproductive System Organs
The reproduction system for plants consists of the anther, stigma and ovule. The image by Hans
Lambers (2016) shows that pollen is created through the stamen (anther (which is held up by a
filament). The pollen is then moved through wind, water or animal to the stigma of the plant part of
the pistil where the pollen germinates (The Parts of a Flower, n.d.). Which is then moved down the
pollen tube (inside the style) where it reaches the ovary and fertilizes the ovule and reproduce. 1.2
Plant Reproductive System Cells
Plant reproduction consists of two cells. The pollen grains contains male gametophytes (the male sex
cell) which is created through the process of meiosis (sex cell multiplying). On the other hand, the
ovule, which is held within the ovary, contains female gametophytes (the female sex cell) which is
also created through the process of meiosis.

  • 3. What Is The Most Memorable Moment In A Movie Lights, Curtain, Action The lights dimmed, the curtain lifted, and the actors came out. My excitement was growing, first starting in my throat, then working its way to my stomach. The sound of the instruments filled the theater as the actors start to sing in loud clear voices. This was how my most memorable moment in my childhood started, at the Times Union Center Theater in the last week of February. My interest in theater started when I was a little girl. In particular, it was a movie that started this love. I can still remember the day my father brought home that movie, The Phantom of the Opera. It was the first musical I watched that was not Disney. After watching it, I felt overwhelmed with all the emotions expressed in the movie. Of course, being as young as I was then, I was unable to quite understand the meaning in the movie but that was not a problem. I was more interested in the singing and dancing that was shown throughout the movie. It was this musical that influenced me to pursue a career in theater and movies. Even though I loved the musical so much I never did see it live. My family could not afford to buy tickets and very rarely did the show come to my hometown. That is until I was 17 when they came to the Times Union Center in Jacksonville. My sister and I were thrilled, but instantly our excitement died when we remembered that we do not have the money for tickets. The both of us decided to start coming up with ways to earn money, such as extra chores and odd jobs around the neighborhood. Slowly but surely we began to earn money. By the end of December, we were still short a couple hundred bucks and seats were selling out quickly. It was Christmas Day when the most wonderful thing happened. My family was opening up presents and it was my turn to open mines. My father handed me this large present and inside was a slightly smaller present and inside that was an even smaller present which inside contained an envelope. Inside of that envelope was a Christmas card with the inside saying Soak up this moment! Clipped to the side of the card was three tickets to The Phantom of the Opera. I was overjoyed, I let out a little squeal and could not stop thanking my parents. Finally, I can see the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Causes Of The Missouri Compromise Of 1820 The Missouri Compromise of 1820 The Missouri Compromise of 1820 helped to mend the relationship between the north and south. All the states in the Union were in an argument over what the new states should be free or slave states. With the conflict steadily rising a congressman came up with a solution to alleviate the tension. This compromise set the tone for the rest of the civil rights time period. It ended after holding peace for a few decades. The Missouri Compromise of 1820 relieved the intensity of the problems between free and slave states political power. The second part of the compromise was that an imaginary line would be drawn along the southern border of Missouri. This imaginary line would become the dividing line between free and slave states in the North and South and be known as the 36° 30° line. The North would not be allowed to have slaves, and the South would have slaves. Both sides were okay with the Compromise because both sides benefitted from it. The Compromise was finally approved by President James Monroe on March 6, 1820. The signing of this document change slavery in the United States. The peace from this Compromise in the states lasted for nearly three decades. The Compromise of 1820 changed a lot of things about new states entering the Union. With westward movement being such a big deal during this time frame, it created a few complications. Starting out, in theory, it was a good idea. However, All the new states would be divided into 2 factions based on their beliefs on slavery. Where you lived determined what your view on slaves and how you felt about slavery. • 5. The Connection between Sentence Comprehension and Motor... There is contemporary evidence that some language tasks that require an individual to comprehend action words (e.g. walk) and nouns of manipulable objects (e.g.. mug) activate regions on the motor cortex. This event is recognized as motor resonance. However, this phenomenon challenges present theoretical explanation of word comprehension. There are two dominant perceptions which are followed in cognitive psychology. The first account is that individuals understand words such as chew from previous practice; therefore, for one to comprehend a word they must consider the prior actions and experiences that are connected with that word. The second explanation is an alternative where the word evokes an action. The actions become an automatic byproduct after an individuals resolves the connotation of the word. A recent study conducted by Masson, Bub, and Lavelle at the University of Victoria, examines the degree to which context controls the action representations elicited by a word. The goal of the research question was to gain a deeper understanding of the connection between motor resonance and sentence comprehension. This was analyzed through action representations that are dependent on grasping an manipulable object such as cellphone, wine glass, pencil, hairspray, etc. The two action representations were volumetric (V) actions and functional (F) actions. Volumetric actions function to lift or a move an object, whereas, functional actions implement the expected function ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Role Of Medical Experiments In The Holocaust When most people think of the holocaust, they think of people being forced into concentration camps, they think of Jews and Nazis, they think of cruelty and death. But what most people don t think of, is all the experiments that went on, all the medical experiments. The Nazi doctors wanted to find cures for medical conditions that most everyone wanted to cure, but these doctors went about finding the cure a little differently. They would take prisoners they had and experiment on them in ways of cruelty hard to even imagine. This will only be about one of the many experiments done, the freezing and hypothermia experiments. Doctor Sigmund Rascher was the one overseeing this particular experiment, he mainly conducted the experiments at Dachau (Holocaust on Trial http://www.pbs.org). • 12. Apple iPods Changed the Way we Listen to Music iPods have positively influenced the way people all over the world listen to and share music in the blink of an eye. Since Apple introduced the first iPod in 2001, 350 million iPods have been sold as of September 2012. That s enough iPods for every single person in the United States to have their own device with twenty million still left over. Those are some pretty staggering numbers, considering more iPods are sold every second. The iPod has seven main parts: hard drive, battery, click wheel, display, microprocessor, video chip, and audio chip. Older models of the iPod (with the click wheel) have a hard drive. On the inside of the device, the hard drive is made up of platters, spindle motors, heads and head actuators. Platters are little disks that are covered with a magnetic surface and then placed on a spindle. The disks have a cobalt alloy substance applied to them which is placed on the platter by electroplating. Digital information is stored on the disks and information is written on the disks by electromagnetic flux through read write heads that change the polarization. As the platter rotates, the magnetic fields move and the read write head senses electrical change between the moving magnetic fields. The iPod has a small Liquid Crystal Display (more commonly known as an LCD). The molecules in the liquid crystals in the screen go through multiple changes, one being the nematic phase. The twisted nematic is manipulated when the electric current is applied to it. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Minor Characters in Ragged Dick The Role of Minor Characters in Ragged Dick It is impossible for the minor characters in Ragged Dick to have a fair chance at being recognized as decent members of society because of the emphasis Horatio Alger Jr. places on Dick Hunter. The better qualities of Dick are constantly being reminded to the reader, giving them little room to disagree with Alger s heroic portrayal of him. Horatio Alger Jr. s preference to homosexuality also reflects his choice in excluding any useful female characters in his novel. Micky Maguire is another pawn which Alger plays in Ragged Dick in order to make Dick stand out among the boot blacks and set him above the rest. Micky fits the typical description of a common boot black in the city during the time in which Ragged Dick was written. He seems to exemplify expected behaviour of a young boot black by his rough exterior, involvement in fights, lack of money, and disregard for others including their property. Micky Maguire is the enemy of the story, and it is clear that the hero must always rise above the bad characters in order to provide a lesson with the story being told. Dick is known to keep his cool and remain confident around Micky, even when a fight is breaking out between the two of them (Alger 94). While Micky is indeed a cruel boy as it seems, Dick does bring on some of the taunting himself because of the cocky manner he upholds when speaking to Micky. Even with Dick being smart mouthed toward Micky, there is not any sympathy towards Micky in the novel because of his ruffian ways and rudeness towards Dick. Alger does not give Micky credit for why he acts like this towards Dick nor does he establish a true reason why Micky turned out to be such a tough street boy. His childish actions are likely caused by jealously over Dick and not because of sheer hatred (Alger 91). • 14. The Cheyenne Tribes Of The Native American Indians The Cheyenne was one of the most famous tribes of the Native American Indians. They lived on the Great Plains in what is now South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas. During the 1800 s, the U.S. government forced the Cheyennes to move to Oklahoma. Today, there are two Cheyenne tribes. The Southern Cheyenne live in Oklahoma while the Northern Cheyenne settle in Montana. The Cheyenne had an interesting culture and way of life. Boys were taught how to hunt, fish, and fight from their fathers. Girls learned how to cook, clean, and do chores around the house. Also, the children went to school and played with dolls, toys, and games. For example, the Cheyenne kids enjoyed playing the hoop game and lacrosse. A Cheyenne woman was responsible for building her family s house. She dragged heavy posts with her whenever the tribe moved. Later on, the Cheyenne Indians killed buffalo so they could use buffalo hide to make teepees. They lived in teepees because it was easy to set up and take down. As a result of moving frequently, a teepee allowed the Cheyenne tribe to move within an hour. The Cheyenne women harvested corn, squash, and beans while the men hunted deer and buffalo. Also, they ate fish, fruit, and berries. For clothing, the Cheyenne women wore long deerskin dresses that were decorated with porcupine quills, shells, and elk teeth. Cheyenne men wore breechcloths with leather leggings in colder climates. Men wore moccasins while the women wore high fringed boots. Chief leaders had tall feather headdresses and long warbonnets. The hair style for men was long braids with a topknot and women wore their hair loose or braided. The Cheyennes painted their faces for war, religious ceremonies, and feasts. Lastly, the Cheyenne people were very religious. They performed an elaborate Sun Dance, smoked peace pipes, built ceremonial houses, and four arrows represented their sacred object. The tribal government of the Cheyenne Indians was called the Council of Forty Four. It was formed by ten bands of the tribe. • 15. Government Regulation By The Private Sector Essay Introduction Today, our nation is under constant attack by hackers, terrorist groups and other enemies. Unfortunately regardless of how innovative our government or private sectors have become with securing the network systems, the frequency and intensity of the attacks have only increased. Over the last decade, security breaches and cyber attacks have highlighted how dependent our nation is on its critical infrastructure. It was concluded that a total of 54% of cyber attacks targeted the US in 2013 (Watkins, n.d). Through experiences such as September 11, 2001, it has become apparent how interconnected our infrastructure is and the exposure to targeted attacks we face as a nation (Katen, 2004). With the private industry owning over 85% of our nation s critical infrastructure, it is important for the government to create and maintain regulations which should be followed by all agencies and private sectors in order to protect our national security. There are several concerns about government regulation by the private sector and how it will affect their consumers privacy and the company s finances. However, the Cybersecurity Act of 2015 ensures user s privacy while sharing information between companies and agencies. Furthermore, there are several effects on national security resulting from failure to comply with government regulation, meeting only the minimum requirements and exceeding the minimum requirement. With that being said, it has become part of the private ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. How Does Liam O Flaherty Use Foreshadowing In The Sniper In the story The Sniper by Liam O Flaherty is about a Republican sniper watching over Dublin, Ireland. The story is set in the Irish Civil War. The author uses mood and foreshadowing to show and tell that war tears families apart. The central issue is about the Irish civil war and people killing and hurting each other. For example, in the beginning it states Republicans and free staters were waging civil war. (1). This illustrates that there is a civil war going on and people are dying for their side. Also, he uses foreshadowing because in the story, it says The flash might be seen in the darkness, and there were enemies watching. He decided to take the risk. (1). This shows/foreshadows his enemies seeing him and shooting at him, that is significant because if he were to be shot and killed, his family would be mourning over his death and they would have lost their son. Near the end of the story the author uses foreshadowing the death of a friend or family member of his. He does this by saying in the story He wondered did he know him... Irony shows that war is tearing families apart because in the end it states Then the sniper turned over the dead body and looked into his brother s face (4). There is irony there because the reader does not expect the main character to kill somebody that he actually knew, let alone his brother. If the main character had known that it was his brother, then he would not have shot and killed him. Liam O Flaherty also uses description in the story to emphasize death of people and family members dying. For example, it states The old woman whirled round and fell with a shriek into the gutter. People can infer that the old woman has a family back home, she could have been a mother, a sister, or a wife, but she was killed in the war, destroying her family ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. The Concepts Of Contractionism By John Rawls And Political... Abstract art steps back from reality to witness a world separate from the human experience. This departure allows people to project their own meaning onto the piece. They all come from varying backgrounds so their understandings of the art are all radically different. John Rawls attempts to apply the same concepts of abstractionism into political philosophy to arrive at a set universal rules and values. However, Rawls ultimately fails, giving rise to an either too limited or too vague theory of justice. Rawls is not clear on how to access morality, who his theory applies to, and whether or not his theory functions in reality. Rawls acts to expand on the social contract making it more applicable to the needs of the least advantaged. One of political philosophy s goals is for the government to find some underlying basis of philosophical and moral agreement such that the citizens agree on its authority . He postulates the current system of government, utilitarianism, is deeply flawed, because it allows for the continued suffering of the most vulnerable in society as long as the majority benefits . Instead Rawls proposes the veil of ignorance take its place. In this thought experiment, men are in the original position, in which the parties do not know their conceptions of the good or their special psychological propensities . One of the reasons why the student body is full of diversity is because of the Affirmative Action. It is the policy that gives a special incentives to minorities and women to help promote diversity in school. Though it is a great idea to promote diversity in every college in United States, it is also a bad idea to continue this system. Many A students who are not minorities tend to get the same treatment as the B students who are minorities. Although accepted into school, these students who barely met the minimum criteria may have a tougher time at school because they may not be able to keep up with the pace of the classes since the schools have high expectations of its students. Furthermore, students who have worked hard to get good grades might be overlooked because the students who have lower grades will be accepted simply to fulfill the quota. Although promoting affirmative action is a great idea to seek diversity through different views from many different ethnicities, it will also take away people s hard work, as well as producing more drop out students since they cannot keep up with what the university is expecting from them. • 21. Use Of Literary Devices Throughout Ray Bradbury s The Veldt Use of Literary Devices throughout Ray Bradbury s The Veldt Ray Bradbury s personal life encounters and his use of universal literary devices throughout The Veldt accentuate his frequent themes involving fear and harmful innovation. Bradbury s life experiences, such as living during World War II, also played a major roll in his fearful theme decisions and sadistic writing style. Bradbury incorporates multiple literary techniques into The Veldt including: metaphors, foreshadowing, irony, imagery, personification, a simplistic writing style, allusions, and symbolism. In The Veldt , he commonly uses metaphors, comparing how one item is like another, to foreshadow or create an eerie tone. Bradbury also leaves out details of ranging importance to make his writing more personable; this allows the readers to feel involved in the story. Bradbury directs a majority of his attention on getting his point across using a simplistic writing style rather than bewildering his readers with complex vocabulary and a perplexing structure. The Veldt alludes to multiple positively correlated topics; this is a contrast to the dark themes of the story and slightly adds an additional realistic sentiment to the story. This reaction subconsciously causes readers to become more attentive to the disturbing atmosphere the writing is centered around. His use of symbolism contributes to the tone of sinister tendencies in the The Veldt . Additionally, his use of personification and imagery ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Experimental research concentrates on how and why something happens. It is the evaluation of how an independent variable (a manipulated factor) affects a dependent variable (an observed factor). The outcome can be affected by a number of elements; obtaining random and representative samples of the study population, experimenter bias and extraneous variables. Bias as defined by the expectations of the researcher of what should or should not happen influencing the results. Lack of control on extraneous variables may interfere with the results; only with careful control on extraneous variables can valid conclusions about the effects of specific variables on other variables be drawn. (CliffNotes). The philosophical justification for survey research is cost containment with a large volume of research. It is also one of the most efficient and quick methods to gather large amounts of information. Data analysis can be completed in a short period of time and generalization is better, particularly when the representative sample is of a population. It also helps elimination of bias in result interpretation as subjects have the ability to remain anonymous. B. I have not only witnessed numerous instances of bicyclists running stop signs, but also experienced a near accident caused by a cyclist running a stop sign. There could be numerous reasons why bicyclists run stop signs. One could be that they are completely unaware of traffic laws. It also could be that they don t want to lose momentum by stopping and having to start again, or they simply don t care. No matter the reason, they re endangering the other people on the road. I find this very concerning and dangerous. If cyclists want to be treated equally with motor vehicles, they should realize that they must also follow the same laws and face the same penalties. When you strap on you re helmet and straddle you re bike you re now legally responsible to follow the same rules of the road as an automobile. When living in a large metropolitan city, there are an extreme amount of cars on the streets. This contributes to smog, emissions, and a huge carbon footprint on mother earth. People are thankful for others who take this into consideration and ride bicycles instead of driving, but this doesn t make the bicyclist a better person, even though some of them act like it. Living in a small town that may have only a few intersections with stoplights or stop signs, one may feel freer to break the rules of the road, and the consequences are less harmful. Another line in this verse is,Not all martyrs see divinity. But at least you tried. Here, the singer is almost being sympathetic with Him, saying his cause was a valiant effort and claiming him to be a martyr, someone who suffers for a cause or sacrifices his or her life for a great purpose. This is expressed though the line, Ranting and pointing his finger. At everything but his heart. The part about his heart doesnt come off as an emotional or spiritual metaphor, but rather a literal accusation that He never turned the blame on Himself and always pointed His finger away. Gross Domestic Product, also known as GDP, is defined as the value of goods produced and services provided in a country during one year. Gross Domestic Product is important in the culture of economics because in the United States, we use it to measure the well being of the economy. Gross Domestic Product is measured in quarters, there are four quarters in one economic year. Say the Gross Domestic Product is down 10% in Quarter One and then in Quarter Two the Gross Domestic Product has gone up by 15%. You subtract 15% from 10% and then you are left with 5%. Therefore, the economy, or the Gross Domestic Product, has grown by 5% since the last quarter. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this, historically, results in the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary inhabitants and incompatibly invasive) and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to manifest in both active and passive assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure . Cummings arrangement highlights a common attribute of politicians. Their address to the public usually has no meaning, makes no logical sense and is filled with empty words like those used by the speaker in this poem. Cummings attracts the reader s attention to this political situation by the gap in the last line of the poem, He spoke. And drank a glass of water. He spoke is a complete sentence and the only place in the poem with punctuation. The completeness of the sentence creates a space between it and the continuation of the line, And drank rapidly a glass of water. The gap here makes the reader think about what He says. It becomes more apparent to the reader that the speaker does not communicate any message. The speaker does not inform the audience but only tries to stir them up emotionally through his recital of common patriotic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. What Is The Psychological, Social And Cultural Aspects Of... From the time we are born, we are taught the correct way to act within society. We are taught the rules of conduct of society and we learn to follow them in order to be socially normal. The second we are born or even before we are born we are determined a gender. The rest of our life and the way we are expected to act revolves around that gender. Our gender shapes who we are expected to be and shapes an image in our parents head of who they want us to be. Gender plays a key role throughout our life, it is defined as the psychological, social and cultural aspects of masculinity and femininity (butler sweet,c,2017). Masculinity and femininity have been standardized into their own stereotypes. For example, masculine is known as aggression, competitive, brave, etc. While feminine is known as sensitive, weak, nurturing, etc. Because of these traits and these stereotypes masculinity holds a higher power over femininity. Therefore, when the parents have the child and they find out what gender they are they automatically uphold them and raise them according to these standards. This begins to refer to gender socialization which is the process by which we learn the rules and conduct the behavior of masculinity and femininity (butler sweet,c,2017). The conscience of human beings worldwide was shocked by Mussolini s fascist government of Italy, the Spanish civil war and the Franco regime. The most significant formulation of this vision of a new international legal order was the message to the US congress, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in January 1941 in which he referred to the four freedoms : freedom of speech and expression, freedom of worship, freedom from want and freedom from fear which were among the foundations upon which planning for the united nation was started. In 1945 at the San Francisco Conference, where the UN Charter was finally drafted, several actors contributed to the greater emphasis on human rights. Although the suggestion of creating a commission on human rights was controversial among the great powers, the US finally achieved its adoption. Thus, a commission on human rights was the only one explicitly mentioned in the UN charter, and consequently, the human rights issue had got a flying start within the United Nations. United nation was formally established on 24th October 1945.Human rights issue were assigned to the economic and social council (ECOSOC), at the first session of which the nuclear commission on human rights was set up. Which is then moved down the pollen tube (inside the style) where it reaches the ovary and fertilizes the ovule and reproduce. 1.2 Plant Reproductive System Cells Plant reproduction consists of two cells. The pollen grains contains male gametophytes (the male sex cell) which is created through the process of meiosis (sex cell multiplying).
