My Favorite Vacation Spot
My Favorite Family Vacation Spot
As soon as I got of the plane and breathed in that City air I new my life would change for the better. I
was waiting for this day for the past several months. It was the first time I would go with my father
and brothers on their Boys Only Vacation . I was thrilled at the fact that they would finally let me tag
along with them. This year they decided to go to Washington D.C. I had never been to D.C before, and
what made it even better was the fact that around the time we would arrive it would be snowing. It
was my first time ever seeing snow with my naked eye. So when the time came we headed out to
Tampa International Airport. We checked our bags, went threw security and waiting in line before
entering the aircraft. It was about a 2 hour flight before we arrived in the place that now has my heart
till the day I die. As soon as we stepped out the Airport my eyes were widened by the site of seeing
snow for the first time. The snow felt as if it was made out of a snow cone machine. The sound of my
feet stomping in the snow like stepping on packing peanuts is the sound that I will listen to for hours.
After about a quarter of a mile walk we got to the subway station where for the first time I
experienced how busy big cities can be. We got our cards and headed downstairs to where the subway
trains were. The sound of a jazz musician playing Duke Ellington s Rhapsody in Blue made me want
to give the man all the money in my pocket but sadly I couldn t. There was also the smell of chili
cheese dogs that the people next to us were trying to scarf down before the train arrived. Finally it
arrived and this was my first time on a subway car. The feeling of my butt on the rough cushioned
chairs wasn t the best feeling in the world. The sight on many people from Jamaican to Irish was one
that I haven t seen in such a small compacted space. I could also see the sight of Jefferson Memorial
and the Potomac River as we passed them was breathtaking. We passed a few other sights such as the
Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial and the WW2 Memorial. As we walked off the train
we could hear the conductor giving everyone safety instructions and telling them to step away from
the doors.

Shift In The American Political System
The American political system is one in which change occurs slowly and incrementally, if at all. This
long term stability prevents shortsighted populism from driving large scale changes that potentially
have long term impacts. Thus, if the American political system is trending on a path that lends itself
well to the fulfillment of the democratic ideals of equal voice, representation, majority rule, and
minority protection the stability of the system allows it to continue along this path. However, when a
number of these small, incremental changes reinforce one another toward an unequal or unresponsive
system these trends are just as difficult to reverse. This paper will examine three specific shifts in the
American political system: a) the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Skocpol (2007) shows that while as early as 1960 a number of national public interest groups were
structured in a way that promoted grass roots activism and required a number of local chapters. These
membership groups gained the strength to engage in activism through the number of members they
were able to mobilize. These interest groups, then, could claim to be representative of the general
public s interests because they were made up of members of the general public. However, Skocpol
further argues that beginning in the 1970 s there was a shift toward more professionally run
organizations. Instead of recruiting members to volunteer and mobilize, these new groups featured
predominantly professional members and functioned through the use of lobbying. Instead of a high
number of members, these new groups were primarily focused on raising money in order to lobby for
more narrow interests. In 2001, only 12% of all Washington interest groups were associations of
individuals (Schlozman et al.

in Psychology because I will be able to understand other people s actions. Also, it will help me in my

Native Son Sociology
The major genre of Native Son is a sociological novel, which is one that concentrates on the nature,
function, and effect of the society in which characters live (Harmon 487). Throughout the plot, Wright
depicts a segregated Chicago and demonstrates the innate social dominance of the whites over the
black people. With this setting, Wright explores this social pyramid, showing the injustices towards
the black race and the limits and boundaries placed on them as well. Wright especially demonstrates
the effects of this racial hierarchy through the character of Bigger Thomas, who represents the
potential reactions of the oppressed that can result from the prejudice society. The sub genre of Native

Hydraulics Personal Reflection
As a second year Marine Machinery Mechanic Apprentice, I am fortunate enough to continue my
career on one the most knowledgeable teams. As a member of the Hydraulics Team, I learned what it
is like to handle some of the largest Hydraulic components in existence. I am specially trained to
disassemble, clean, rebuild, and test hydraulic components according to required specifications.
Speech 251 has built my communication skills up to the point where I can clearly communicate, with
my team members, while conducting hydraulic tests. As the year is coming to an end, Hydraulics is
experiencing another slow period. As work slows down, I continue to educate myself by reading step
processes in technical manuals and by studying drawings to continue my growth in aspects that pertain
to my job. Moreover, as a second year apprentice, communication has proven to be one of the most
valuable skills, both written and verbal. Speech 251 has lent me a hand. Dr. Halbert s persistence in
the value of public speaking has been beneficial in establishing communication skills. In example, we
regularly hold board meetings where job statuses and injury reports are discussed with upper
management. Having the confidence to speak professionally, in a public setting, helps the production
move on schedule. Being able to update those, who manage the projects, allows future planning to
flow accordingly. In my opinion, a sense of pride can be seen in my work. Despite the ever so

The Financials For Clipboard Company
Introduction The financials for Clipboard Company since 2011 indicate the financial progress for use
when addressing factors that can cause the company to continue making profits or to fail. Currently,
the company offers three technological devices specifically tablets under the names X5, X6, and X7.
The three products have been in the market for different times as they were developed and introduced
into the market at various times. X7 is the youngest product and apparently retails at the least price.
However, it has not picked as expected in the market. The primary company s objective is to
maximize revenues by varying the prices of its commodities and undertaking research and
development. However, the most beneficial strategy on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, at 2015, the product will have reached shakeout stage, and it will have increasingly
declining new customers. When the price is lowered to $420, and R D for the product lowered to 25%
then, the tablet will perform better than its competitors in the market. At this time, the total sales will
be 1, 371, 992 in 2012, and 2, 316, 675 in 2013. However, according to SLP 3 that would mean that
the company would have to reduce the production volume to achieve default run profitability. On the
other hand, if the company increases the cost of X6 tablet to $450 and R D to 40% it would mean that
the customers pay the same for the tablet as they pay for other competing tablets in the market. In that
case, it would call for a decision on the side of the customer based on their loyalty for them to
purchase the tablet. In so doing, the organization will register a sale volume of $1, 854, 036 in 2014
and $2, 337, 247 in 2015. If the company will increase the price further to $470 and increase R D to
45%, then tablet X6 will be less expensive for customers to buy than competing tablets. With that
change, the company will make sales of 2, 337, 247 in 2014 and 1, 180 751 in 2015. The reason for
the decline will be because the product will have reached the shakeout stage where the number of new
customers will progressively decline (Calvin, 2002). Following the analysis above, the best strategy
for tablet X6 is to increase the price to $450 and R D to 40% for between 2012 and

Medea Analysis
Medea
Medea plays a lot of rolls in this epic, and it s hard to explain how she is that smart to be an actor. The
thing is, she is a scary woman, and after one day she is a queen who will conquer the world. There are
a lot of different interpretations of the acts that Medea has committed throughout this play. For
example, one could say that Medea should be prosecuted for the murders that she committed, or one
could also admit that Medea should not be held responsible for her actions due to other reasons.
Medea murders a total of four people in this play: Princess, the two sons, and the kind Creon.
However, Medea does not kill Creon directly because she tried to kill the princess but the king tried to
help the princess. While trying to help the princess, the king touches the coat to kill himself a long
with his daughter. The murder of Creon is not placed against her because she is not held responsible
for her actions. Medea is not held responsible due to the context in this play and on a legal note as
well.
First of all, the context shows that Medea did not kill all four people. Medea did not kill Creon of
trying to kill him. However, Creon is killed because of the princess, and it is not Medea s
responsibility for this murder. Medea kills the princess because of the poison which it was in her dress,
however the king is killed due to him grabbing on to his daughter to kill himself with her. Based solely
on the actions that Medea committed towards her daughter, she is not

The Sixties Countercultures
The Sixties were a time of major change in United States society. We had reached beyond modernity
with technology, consumerism, and the youth leading us to the suburbs of discontent. According to
Hugh Heclo, There came surge of personal discontent and social self questioning that would constitute
the great awakening of the 1960s. He goes on to argue that people no longer accepted the status quo
and from the counter culture groups we have studied in class this is evident. People were more
concerned with morals and institutional openness in order to create a better vision of the world than
the traditional ideals of the Cold War era. Heclos main argument is that this vision is the legacy of the
Sixties is the tendency for peoples to question their governments practices, in the name of a more
egalitarian society. I agree with his assertions and can see proof in the Yippee movement, Students for
a democratic society, and Young Americans for Freedom. The counterculture shows how action was
taken to restructure the government in their own way in order to help the newly oppressed. While the
groups do not exist in the same way today, the actions they took made a lasting impression on the
fabric of society and government. The Yippies were radical and wanted a complete rejection and
reformulation of the American system. They were unwilling to work within existing institutions and
used theatrical tactics to demonstrate their discontent. They partook in drug use, enjoyed rock n

Essay On Hero s Journey Of A Hero
The Difficult Journey of a Hero The true definition of a hero has been argued among authors time and
time again but Christopher Reeve, the man who played the role of the well known superhero
Superman, stated it the best when he said A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to
persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. Many people have the option between
choosing to be brave and choosing to be a coward. One of the main things that differentiates the two is
that one who is brave is willing to face and endure pain or danger for the better of people around them.
A coward however, is someone who lacks the courage to overcome their obstacles and instead of
confronting their dangers, they run for them. A hero ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this part, the hero can bring new wisdom and important cultural values back upon the return to their
community. They also bring positive change and deeds to the people around them. After killing the
Minotaur, Theseus returns to Athens with an overwhelming sense of triumph and pride. It states, It
was a joyous ship that sailed northward from Crete to Athens. There was feasting and dancing night
and day. And every young man aboard felt himself a hero too, and every maiden a princess, (Evslin
170). He gave several young men and women their lives back and the opportunities that would ve
been taken away from them had the Minotaur still been alive. Additionally, with the Minotaur gone,
any potential candidates for the sacrifices would be safe as well. This led to much relief and joy
among the Athenians. Moreover, upon his return to Athens, Theseus was hailed as king...people
worshipped him. He swiftly raised an army, wiped out his powerful cousins, and then led the
Athenians forth into many battles, binding all the cities of Greece together in an alliance, (Evslin 171).
With this newfound power and support, he made Athens the amazing city that we know today by
purging it of those who were responsible for its terrible condition. He also created alliances with other
cities to ensure peace. Therefore, in Theseus return home, he provided his people with solace,
happiness, wealth, and

follows; The arrangement of the temples, colors in correlation to cardinal directions, and stupa rooves.
The Buddhist religion had a very strict way of assembling their buildings, following the guidelines of

the significance of worship in their culture. The cardinal directions are prominent in the architecture
when looking at the White Horse Temple; the temples main entrance follows the principled regulation

1a. Source A is an excerpt of a book written by Betty Friedan in 1963 called The Feminine Mystique.
The excerpt is titled The Problem That Has No Name, details how women were expected to be a

surveys of college students and friends during their 15 year reunion and seeing how unhappy the
women were with where their lives had went. She began researching why they were unhappy and saw
that they wanted more in life than to be a wife, mother, and housewife. The excerpt talks about how

The Rule Of Law In Civil And Common Law Traditions
The rule of law in civil and common law traditions In both the common and civil law traditions the
ordinary function of a court is adjudicative. Courts make findings on disputed questions of fact,
identify and apply the relevant law to the facts as agreed by the parties or found by the court, consider
the legal consequences and award appropriate remedies. Thus, a state that adheres to the principle of
rule of law provides legal certainty to it citizens, to plan their lives with less uncertainty and protects
them from to the law from arbitrary use of state power. The rule of law first and foremost seeks to
emphasize the necessity of establishing a rule based society in the interest of legal certainty and
predictability. Legal certainty is a central tenet of the rule of law understood around the world
although its meaning differs between legal traditions and nation States. In 2007 at Potsdam, the G8
Foreign Ministers declared their commitment to the rule of law [as a] core principle on which we build
our partnership and our efforts to promote lasting peace, security, democracy and human rights as well
as sustainable development worldwide and stated that it is imperative to adhere to the principle of

Sacrifice In Lucy
Truth has always been preposterous for the worldly wise. Those who engage themselves with a quest
for truth have never been accepted by the world and have been alienated and even put to death. The
life and death of Jesus Christ is an example. The great men like Galileo Galeilei, the renowned
astronomer, and Michael Servetus, the theologian and the first European to correctly describe blood
circulation between heart and lungs, met with almost the same fate. The Hollywood movie Lucy
portrays a similar character whose acquiring of the ultimate knowledge results in her dispersal into the
universe putting an end to her existence as a human being. The paper is an in depth examination of the
life and death of Jesus Christ, born in 6 BC, and Lucy, the heroine of a 21st century Hollywood movie

through Lucy and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, both having certain aspects in common irrespective of
the different ages in which they lived. This study attempts to compare and contrast the events in the

How Does Traditional Mexican Music Influence People s...
In my personal experience, Mexican music has revolved around my life for as long as I can remember.
Growing up in a bordertown has its Hispanic heritage. Whether I was at home, school, or even in
public places, I would hear Spanish related music playing in the background. I believe Spanish music
holds many values when it comes to different occasions. The music can manipulate the minds of its
listeners using love, passion, and outstanding rhythms. After reading an article online, I can explain
how three different genres of traditional Mexican music influence people s culture.
The genre that most people know Mexican music by is Mariachi. Mariachi is usually played at
birthday parties, quinceañeras, and any other social gathering. In a Mariachi band, the member s attire
consists of a Charro suit and sombrero. For the main part, they use violins, trumpets, a classical guitar
and a vihuela (a five string guitar). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ranchera music can tell a story, and use love, patriotism, and nature to make a magnificent melody.
The music originates from the word rancho meaning ranches. Coming from rural parts of Mexico,
Ranchera music usually starts with El Grito Mexicano a yell that the musician or audience member
makes. Finally Ranchera music can be simallary compared to the tempo of a waltz, a polka or a
bolero.
The last genre Norteño is comprised of other music like Tejano or Tex Mex . This kind of music is
very relatable to me and is personally one of my favorite type of Mexican music. A twelve string
guitar known as bajo sexto and the accordion are Norteño s most characteristic instruments. Norteño
music is usually played by a group of men or a band. The music is originated from migrated europeans

What Is The Theme Of Dante s Divine Comedy
Dante s Divine Comedy In Dante s Divine Comedy, Dante is lost and enters a dark wood. Dante
follows Virgil who is his guide, to the top of the mountain. Through this journey Virgil takes Dante
through hell. In cantos 2 10 hell is organized into circles. The first circle is the Limbo, the unbaptized
and pagans. In this circle Dante says the people are grieving for their undying loss. It is said on page
95, that this men, women and children are not sinners but lack fulfillment. Baptism is the gateway to
faith. Pagans are lost in this circle not only because they lack Christian faith but for their lack in faith
for the nature of things. The second circle is introduced in canto five for the souls of lustful people.
Dante begins to hear grief, crying and shrieking. Dante claims that this is the least hateful of the
deadly sins because it is a shared sin. This circle is for the people involved in sexual activities and
affairs. The third circle is where the gluttonous are. The climate changes in this circle and the people
are bothered by a heavy rain storm and a three headed dog. In this circle Dante meets a Florentine who
talks about the disasters that will happen in Florence and the future for Dante. The fourth circle
belongs to the hoarders and the spendthrifts pushing big rocks towards each other. Then, in the middle
of crossing the circle Dante and Virgil are on the cliff to the Marsh of Styx, forming the fifth circle.
The circle contains the river of hell and the wrathful

issues and the side of a city they live on. If you are someone who is rich like a soc and is in a better
environment and situation you are expected to be more respectful. Teens with a strong foundation are
more responsible, and kids who have no parents or anyone that is a positive role model end up doing
more of what they want. Kids that grow up on a wrong side of town tend to make the most crimes
based off of how they were raised. As a Soc, they are being a disgrace by the way they act. Most
people in this novel think that Greasers are a disgrace, but no one notices how badly the Socs treat
Greasers. The socs bully greasers and that could be causing more anger to build in the greasers that
cause them to act out. Socs verbally and physically abuse them, it s one thing to steal but it s another
when you hurt someone mentally or physically on purpose. I ve seen with my own eyes that kids who
have been hurt by others or their parents cause them to act out and do things they normally wouldn t
do because of their built up anger. No one knows what happens at home for a

10th Grade That Changed My Life
In 10th grade I had completely given up on myself, I stopped trying in school and would do anything
not to go. I rarely wanted to go out with my friends. I never felt happy or that I had any sort of purpose
in life. I felt like no matter how hard I tried I would never make a mark on this world. I guess it was
because I didn t really have any direction in my life. With all of my peers having their future lined up
for themselves I felt like I was all alone not knowing what my future was going to look like. Once
10th grade ended I decided to get a job. I became a cashier at a fast food restaurant called Gimme A
Burger. Although this was a pretty average job, it gave me a sense of accomplishment. When I came

Shawshank Redemption Behaviorism
The book Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption shows the stretch of behaviorism. It explored
how being separated from something for a long time can affect the instincts of the individual. In the
story, when prisoners get out they are confused, feel unsafe, and think about commiting a crime just to
get back into prison. This story shows how being rewarded and being punished makes the individual
and makes an identity. Behaviorism is the idea that your behavior is determined by punishment or
reward. In Shawshank this is an important theme as it shows how the prisoners change and adapt in
prison. Prisoners get so used to prison life, that when they leave it is impossible for them to fit in. For
example, Brooks was in prison for about 50 years and when he got paroled he began crying as he was
leaving the prison. Brooks was the librarian in prison and held an important role compared to other
prisoners. He didn t last very long and died within six months outside of prison; Brooks helped raise a
crow and as soon Brooks left, the crow died. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He talks about how fast things move, how cars have changed, how automobiles move fast compared
to the ones he has seen in the past before he was in prison. I had no idea of how fast things moved on

about how women dress differently and show a lot of skin. Red talks about how he has a habit of
going to the restroom twenty five after the hour and asking his boss. Despite the fact that he no longer
needs to ask for permission it s something he is used to. Red talks about how he thinks of committing
a crime just to go to prison where he feels safe. The fact that he doesn t feel safe outside is saying

Analysis Of The Odissi Dance From Dominican Republic

Indian Dance
Due : 6 January 2017
Differences Bring You Closer
For centuries upon centuries, dance has been used as a form as expression. Whether it be religiously to
please and entertain the gods, or as a form of entertainment for the townspeople, dance has brought
joy to countless people. Because dance doesn t leave a written history trail it is assumed, but not
proven, to have originated over 2500 years ago. However, dance continues to evolve even today. Take
for example the odissi dance from India that is almost two thousand years old versus the bachata
dance from Dominican Republic that is only about 50 years old. Both of these dances originated in
complete separate parts of the world at very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Odissi dance was held to a very high esteem not only by commoners, for even royalty were expected
to be great dancers of this kind. However, as a sensual dance of great passion, love, and joy, it doesn t
come to be a great surprise that after the 17th century odissi dance took a turn for the worse. The
dancers went from being admired to being known as prostitutes and whores; it was a dark time for
odissi dance as it came very close to being extinct. Nevertheless, India Independence Day marked an
enormous change due the recognition that culture and dance was essential to unifying India once
again. Many individuals then set out to revive odissi dance for the better (Nirmal). Odissi dance has
since then taken on many different forms and has even split into three different schools: mahari,
nartaki, and gotipua. Mahari dance is the traditional form of odissi used in rituals; narthaki dance was
developed in the royal courts; and gotipua dance is the form of odissi where males wear female
costumes and assume those roles (Courtney).
One of the main differences between these dances is the purpose and symbolism. While odissi dance
has been used for entertainment it is a classical temple dance. It is used in rituals and has originally
been created for the Divine, bachata on the other hand is the complete opposite. It symbolizes freedom
from one of the worst dictatorships Dominican Republic has ever seen and a freedom of speech they

Intellectual Humility And The Education World
Intellectual Humility in the Education World Every teacher has their own bias. The people who write
state standards and state tests also have biases. Students are biased on what they think they need to pay
attention to in class. Teachers, state governments and students each believe that they know what is
most important in their separate fields. None of these groups like to be told that they are teaching,
writing, or learning wrong. However, it is still necessary for people to remain open to criticism
because criticism may lead to an improvement down the road. But each group needs another group to
be able to call them out on these issues. This is called staying humble. Intellectual humility is
admitting to not knowing everything in a field of interest but still being willing to accept criticism in
order to further knowledge of a subject and become more capable of doing a job better than before.
Intellectual humility is combination of two things: common sense and critical thinking. Common
sense is a characteristic that people sneer at. Speaking from experience, humans are prone to not
listening to advice and doing what they think it is the best option. When peers and teachers start listing
off x, y, and z reasons for why what they are doing is a bad idea, people without common sense will
refuse to listen. Common sense requires us to look at the big picture and think carefully through all the
possible options and go with the option that is most reasonable. This

Water Symbolism In Open Boat
The men in Crane s Open Boat experienced an emotional rollercoaster by feeling hopeless, determined
and exhausted. Lost at sea in a small boat with waves the size of mountains. Land is no where to be
found and help could be days away. Constant thoughts racing through one s mind about if they will
sink or swim. From the beginning of the story, as the men had to change boats from their ship to a
fairly small rowboat, their hope began to fade. To make matters any worse, a storm began and it
brought strong, high waves along with it which overtopped the boat many times during their journey
to find refuge and at times, the men thought they were going to die at sea from drowning in the frigid
waters.. As they venture the sea, they stumbled upon people that appeared to be waving at them as if
they were trying to help. By this point, the men are desperate for any help they can receive and they
notice a man waving a coat at them as if he was signaling to the men. The men thought they had found
help only to be disappointed that they were only regular people on the beach. As the day progressed
and the search for help continued, the narrator said The man waving a coat blended gradually into this
gloom . The narrator is referring to the man who was waving the coat and how that gave the men ...

exhaustion played a tremendous role in the emotional journey the men endured. When one exchanged
the rowing seat for a place in the bottom of the boat, he suffered a bodily depression that caused him

physical exhaustion the men endured from rowing constantly until they couldn t row any more to
survive through the sleepless night. The mental exhaustion arises with the hopelessness of being
rescued, thinking that everything they see is a signal of help being on the way when in all actuality,

It is a combination of several wireless nodes that can build a network randomly. The study and growth
of mobile devices and 802.11[2] Wi
Fi wireless networks is on demand topic of research in MANE. Ad hoc network doesn t depend on any
central administration or stable infrastructure such as base. While nodes are moving in the network
they interchange the information to each other and may continue to move here and there and so the
network must be prepared.Mobile devices are not having the centralized control, therefore they are
free to move, and hence the topology of such network changes expeditiously. In the mobile Adhoc
system, a number of influences such as physical obstacles movement, unwanted noise, and climate
circumstances contribute to the trouble of precisely forming the actions of the lifetime of a link among
two mobile nodes. The excellence of service must fulfil source end to destination end data packet
transfer without packet loss. Data packets routed between a sender node (source) and a receiver node
(destination) of a MANET often traverse along a path spanning multiple links, which is known as the
multihop path.
To accomplish availability and reliability network routing protocols should be prevailing compared to
jamming attacks. The trustworthiness of distributing data packets from end to end using multi hop
intermediary nodes is a noteworthy problem in the mobile Adhoc network. Due to the intrinsically self

Causes Of Drug Legalization
In the United States, we have many conflicts such as discrimination, war between other counties, and
most importantly the debate of drug legalization. The reason for the debate/conflict on drug
legalization is because of timely matter. For an example, Colorado and Washington have passed laws
for the legalizing the recreational use of marijuana (Rosenkraz, 2016). The United States has been
fighting a war with drug for 41 years. The estimated costs so far is about 2.5 trillion dollars (Dovan,
2016). Therefore, that information shows why Americans are debating about the legalization of drugs.
Many Americans do not favor the cause of drug legalization, but there are minority who disagree. I am
one of the minority whom does favor the cause of drug legalization. My goal in this paper is to give
my opinion and information to show why I do favor the legalization of drugs.
In the article, 14 Years After Decriminalizing All Drugs, Here s What Portugal Looks Like, it
discussed how Portuguese government decriminalized all drugs. The country of Portugal has been
under the decriminalization for fourteen years now and stated that they have been doing better than
ever before (Zeeshanaleem, 2016). For example, there is no intense increase in crime for drug use. The
number of people arrested and sent to criminal courts for drug offenses declined by more than 60
percent since decriminalization. (Drug Policy Alliance, 2015). The number of criminal court cases
have decreased because the use

Short Stories In Native American Literature
Native American literature is in its self a very unique way of telling stories. In these types of stories, I
found that the stories were much different than the stories of the northern American writers I was used
too. What I found was the most interesting about the native American writers that I was reading about
is how similar the short stories and poems seemed. Erna Gunther, the author of the Native American
Literature article stated, These include ancient hieroglyphic and pictographic writings of Middle
America as well as an extensive set of folktales, myths, and oral histories that were transmitted for
centuries by storytellers and that live on in the language works of many contemporary American
Indian writers (Gunther). There was a very clear idea that the native American writes were more alike
in the themes and ideas that they were writing about. It is not a surprise when I read and come across
writers who have very different ways in telling a story or poem. But what seemed to interest me when
reading the work of two different Native American writers is how similar they are and not as different
as one would imagine. The different prospective of writers are their true identities as a writer so it is
amazing to see when some writers can see through the same lens. When researching Native American
writers, I came across two writers, both women, with a similar back ground and also a very similar
was of showing amazing imagery when telling the stories. It was very clear

Anti-Drugs Policies in the 1960s Essay
Drugs have been influencing the ideas, culture, and music of America for ages. Illicit narcotics have
left the Union in a state of immense debt. Anti drug policies have been dumping billions upon billions
of dollars in prevention, punishment, and rehabilitation. From the roaring twenties, to the prohibition,
drugs have always been fought (Bailey). Most times, the drugs start off as medicines and end up being
harmful (Morris). Perhaps, the most prominent and influential eras of drug use in America are the two
decades of the 60 s and twenty years later, the 80 s. It may very well be that these two decades molded
America into what it is now. The sixties had a huge pull from conservative America of the post war
era. Vietnam veterans were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One score years later, LSD was being used recreationally by the new counterculture, or hippies. Many
people turned to this mind altering drug as way to experience nature, and the company of others. Why
would they use so many drugs? The counterculture was set on doing the opposite of what was seen as
the right way of doing things. They protested many of Nixon s policies and their use of drugs was one
form of protest, along with their music and free love. They wanted to create friction between the
government and the people. The movement was so strong that it pushed on into the early 70 s.
Television sitcoms, like That 70 s Show, point out the strong impact of drug use left by the sixties with
the main characters constantly joining in circles and smoking Marijuana. LSD has impacted the music
and culture of America the most. The Beatles are a rock band that came from England. Their music
became a hit in the United States during the sixties and early seventies, in what became known as the
British Invasion. Some of their songs, like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds are hidden ways of saying
LSD (Nagle). People would gather together in large music festivals, to partake in the enjoyment of
listening to some their favorite bands and among other things to smoke marijuana and take acid.
Woodstock was a 3 day music festival taking place in the town of Bethel, New York. It was the biggest
congregation of the counterculture at the time. Some 400,000 people went to listen to

Examples Of Medical Negligence
Medical Negligence
Negligence means the breach of a legal duty to care. In wider sense it means carelessness in a matter
in which law mandates carefulness. Negligence is a predominant theory of liability concerning
allegations of medical malpractice. Medical malpractice occurs when a health care provider deviates
from the recognized standard of care in the treatment of a patient. The standard of care is defined as
what a reasonably prudent medical provider would or would not have done under the same or similar
circumstances. Persons who offer medical advice and treatment implicitly state that they have the skill
to decide whether to take a case, to decide the treatment, and to administer that treatment. This is
know as implied undertaking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Medical mistakes in the diagnosis and treatment of hospital patients are unfortunately among the most
common cases of hospital malpractice seen by malpractice lawyers. Misdiagnosis of the patient s
condition, improperly interpreted diagnostic tests, negligently performed surgeries and medication
errors are all examples of medical negligence and can all have devastating effects on patients already
admitted to a hospital with an illness or injury. This can be considered hospital malpractice.
Understaffing of hospitals and overworking of hospital employees contributes to the dangers of a
hospital visit. Long delays in emergency rooms, as well as waiting for radiology tests and delays in
performing surgery can all permit a patient s condition to worsen. In addition, patients frequently
arrive at the hospital with one type of illness, and sustain an injury or infection in the hospital that they
never had before. Often these patients are in much worse physical condition leaving the hospital than
when they went in. Sometimes patients injured by a hospital in the case of medical negligence require
extensive treatments or multiple surgeries to

Internship Benefits For College Students
Introduction:
Having a college degree is no longer enough to ensure that you secure a job upon graduating
(Huhman, 2011). Therefore expanding your college experience through internship opportunities will
not only give you valuable work experience, you can make a significant impact using your skills and
abilities in causes you are passionate about. Increasingly, employers value candidates that have the
academic knowledge, leadership, and technical skills set that can be applied to solving complex
problems in science and industry to addressing world health, environmental, and conflict crises.
Internships offer many advantages to college students. First, it is the best resource to develop the skills
employers seek (Florida International University, 2017). According to the US Department of Labor,
the skills set employers most look for are critical thinking skills, excellent communication skills, and
the ability to work in a team (Occupational Outlook Quaterly, 2016).
Second, internships enable students to apply classroom knowledge to real world problems,
strengthening skills, and acquiring experience that employers seek in a candidate (Florida
International University, 2017). When selecting candidates, employers look at three significant factors,
an applicant s field of study; a high GPA, leadership experience, and experience in their field (NACE,
2016, p. 3). Additionally, internships enable students to work in their chosen career path, giving them

Traditional Instructional Methods Have Continued For...
Traditional Instructional Method
Traditional teaching methods have continued for generations, and are still implemented today.
However, these instructional methods do not encourage students to own their own learning which in
turn leaves them as less engaged.
Author of How Teacher Education Matters Linda Darling Hammond wrote about the positive effects
training and development on teaching has on the teachers who under go them in contrast to those
teachers who had a small amount or even no training. Furthermore, teaching training and development
reforms that intensively wove expansive experimental training with assignments regarding how to
learn and how to teach produces teachers that have a higher probability of remaining in their chosen
teaching career. Therefore, teacher training plays a vital role in growing a teacher s ability to teach and
respond to practical situations that were merely just theory in training to their actual classrooms, and
then be able to evaluate and grow further.
In the last ten years their has been mass unhappiness with the education system especially with teacher
training programs. Assorted criticism towards education schools has arisen, claims from that they are
ineffective in shaping adequate teachers for their job, or that they do not respond to new demands, or
that they do not give students any practical experience, or even that they act as prevention to recruiting
intelligent and passionate college students. Eighty percent of America

401 K Retirement Plan Essay
Retirement plan has its advantage and disadvantage. Mostly it is based on the choice of the
participant. It is the right of the member whether to choose it or decline. The 401 k retirement plan
builds on the retirement plan sounds likes to replace for pension, but not. The 401 k plan should not
necessary for all employees because it is beneficial based on age and employment history and no
beneficiary is allowed.
The 401 k plan is useful based on the age and age of employment history. It is right to choice this plan
for the people those are at the age of 45 or more. It is not okay for the people the age of me. It is not
beneficial for me because the company where I am recently working I am not going to spend my
lifetime there. Once I changed my job and withdrew the money from the plan, I have to pay a huge

The plan I know like life insurance even some saving plan allows the beneficiaries. Since the
beneficiaries are not allowed so, nobody should be permitted to make a claim if something happens to
the principal planner died. For example, if I invest $ 100000 up to the age of 64 and I died then
nobody from my families are permitted to make a claim. If none of my family shouldn t take
advantage of my saving then why to this kind of saving. Instead of this plan, it is better to buy stock or
bond where at least we are provided with beneficiaries.
Though this is the big project, does not allow any beneficiaries means the program looks like
profitable organization. Maybe this based on active team concerning the average life expectancy of
American people or either based on the death rate of people date at the age between 40 to 50 years.
Thus, this program has its own profitable business, but it s in the opinion of the participant how they

Background
Osteoporosis, millions of people suffered worldwide, is a condition where the amount of bone is
declined but its elements remain unchanged, leading to bone fragility and fractures (Garrow, James

recognized as the most serious clinical consequence of osteoporosis, resulting in an increased
estimated incidence from 1.26 million in 1990 to 2.6 and 4.5 million by the year of 2025 and 2050,
respectively (Gullberg, Johnell and Kanis, 1997). In Europe, the direct expenditure of osteoporotic

However, several randomized controlled trials (RCTs) proved no evidence between CaD and risk of
hip fracture (Smith et al., 2007; Law et al., 2006), suggesting that the amount recommended above
could not meet the needs for the elderly.
Due to prevalence in postmenopausal women and controversy mentioned above, this critical review
focuses on proving relationship between different level of CaD intake and prevention of hip fracture
via RCTs studies.
Search strategy
Pubmed and Web of Science were used in searching relevant articles with the terms calcium and/or
vitamin D , in conjunction with hip fracture . Titles and abstracts were read to select articles included
relationship between dietary and hip fracture. Non relevant articles such as education and management
of post surgery were discarded. Relevant articles should meet following criteria: a) English, b)
postmenopausal women, c) RCT, d) free of osteoporosis. Most of the chosen articles were only
focused on postmenopausal women, whilst the rest few ones focused on both gender.
Review
Fourteen studies were critically reviewed in order to check whether joint or independent effect of
calcium and vitamin D on hip fracture risk or bone mineral density as a result of effect on prevention
of hip fracture.

The Lesson by Toni Cade Bambara
Teachers need to get through students on order to teach a student. Some students might not show up or
care about the class. Teachers of elementary schools have the hardest because the kids just want to
play, goof around and don t listen. Elementary teachers have hard time teaching young uneducated
students just like Miss Moore with her uneducated children from the neighborhood, in the story The
Lesson by Toni Cade Bambara. Miss Moore teaches the students how to take the first step toward a
better education just like elementary teachers, her teaching method were to show how the upper class
lived in comparison to the children but she could have though them differently by giving rewards for
something they did educationally. Furthermore, Miss Moore s teaching is related to elementary school
teachers do to the teachers of elementary schools have to lead the student on how to take the first step
towards a better education. Just like Miss Moore, elementary school teachers have a hard time
controlling the students because they are very inpatient and just want to do whatever is fun rather than
learning something that could benefit them later in future like learning how to read. Both the students
need a teacher that will lead them in the right direction Just like Miss Moore and the elementary
teachers by showing them the better. Miss Moore is a very educated for the block she has moved into

  • 2. My Favorite Vacation Spot My Favorite Family Vacation Spot As soon as I got of the plane and breathed in that City air I new my life would change for the better. I was waiting for this day for the past several months. It was the first time I would go with my father and brothers on their Boys Only Vacation . I was thrilled at the fact that they would finally let me tag along with them. This year they decided to go to Washington D.C. I had never been to D.C before, and what made it even better was the fact that around the time we would arrive it would be snowing. It was my first time ever seeing snow with my naked eye. So when the time came we headed out to Tampa International Airport. We checked our bags, went threw security and waiting in line before entering the aircraft. It was about a 2 hour flight before we arrived in the place that now has my heart till the day I die. As soon as we stepped out the Airport my eyes were widened by the site of seeing snow for the first time. The snow felt as if it was made out of a snow cone machine. The sound of my feet stomping in the snow like stepping on packing peanuts is the sound that I will listen to for hours. After about a quarter of a mile walk we got to the subway station where for the first time I experienced how busy big cities can be. We got our cards and headed downstairs to where the subway trains were. The sound of a jazz musician playing Duke Ellington s Rhapsody in Blue made me want to give the man all the money in my pocket but sadly I couldn t. There was also the smell of chili cheese dogs that the people next to us were trying to scarf down before the train arrived. Finally it arrived and this was my first time on a subway car. The feeling of my butt on the rough cushioned chairs wasn t the best feeling in the world. The sight on many people from Jamaican to Irish was one that I haven t seen in such a small compacted space. I could also see the sight of Jefferson Memorial and the Potomac River as we passed them was breathtaking. We passed a few other sights such as the Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial and the WW2 Memorial. As we walked off the train we could hear the conductor giving everyone safety instructions and telling them to step away from the doors. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Shift In The American Political System The American political system is one in which change occurs slowly and incrementally, if at all. This long term stability prevents shortsighted populism from driving large scale changes that potentially have long term impacts. Thus, if the American political system is trending on a path that lends itself well to the fulfillment of the democratic ideals of equal voice, representation, majority rule, and minority protection the stability of the system allows it to continue along this path. However, when a number of these small, incremental changes reinforce one another toward an unequal or unresponsive system these trends are just as difficult to reverse. This paper will examine three specific shifts in the American political system: a) the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Skocpol (2007) shows that while as early as 1960 a number of national public interest groups were structured in a way that promoted grass roots activism and required a number of local chapters. These membership groups gained the strength to engage in activism through the number of members they were able to mobilize. These interest groups, then, could claim to be representative of the general public s interests because they were made up of members of the general public. However, Skocpol further argues that beginning in the 1970 s there was a shift toward more professionally run organizations. Instead of recruiting members to volunteer and mobilize, these new groups featured predominantly professional members and functioned through the use of lobbying. Instead of a high number of members, these new groups were primarily focused on raising money in order to lobby for more narrow interests. In 2001, only 12% of all Washington interest groups were associations of individuals (Schlozman et al. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Native Son Sociology The major genre of Native Son is a sociological novel, which is one that concentrates on the nature, function, and effect of the society in which characters live (Harmon 487). Throughout the plot, Wright depicts a segregated Chicago and demonstrates the innate social dominance of the whites over the black people. With this setting, Wright explores this social pyramid, showing the injustices towards the black race and the limits and boundaries placed on them as well. Wright especially demonstrates the effects of this racial hierarchy through the character of Bigger Thomas, who represents the potential reactions of the oppressed that can result from the prejudice society. • 6. Hydraulics Personal Reflection As a second year Marine Machinery Mechanic Apprentice, I am fortunate enough to continue my career on one the most knowledgeable teams. As a member of the Hydraulics Team, I learned what it is like to handle some of the largest Hydraulic components in existence. I am specially trained to disassemble, clean, rebuild, and test hydraulic components according to required specifications. Speech 251 has built my communication skills up to the point where I can clearly communicate, with my team members, while conducting hydraulic tests. As the year is coming to an end, Hydraulics is experiencing another slow period. As work slows down, I continue to educate myself by reading step processes in technical manuals and by studying drawings to continue my growth in aspects that pertain to my job. Moreover, as a second year apprentice, communication has proven to be one of the most valuable skills, both written and verbal. Speech 251 has lent me a hand. Dr. Halbert s persistence in the value of public speaking has been beneficial in establishing communication skills. In example, we regularly hold board meetings where job statuses and injury reports are discussed with upper management. Having the confidence to speak professionally, in a public setting, helps the production move on schedule. Being able to update those, who manage the projects, allows future planning to flow accordingly. In my opinion, a sense of pride can be seen in my work. • 7. The Financials For Clipboard Company Introduction The financials for Clipboard Company since 2011 indicate the financial progress for use when addressing factors that can cause the company to continue making profits or to fail. Currently, the company offers three technological devices specifically tablets under the names X5, X6, and X7. The three products have been in the market for different times as they were developed and introduced into the market at various times. X7 is the youngest product and apparently retails at the least price. However, it has not picked as expected in the market. The primary company s objective is to maximize revenues by varying the prices of its commodities and undertaking research and development. However, the most beneficial strategy on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, at 2015, the product will have reached shakeout stage, and it will have increasingly declining new customers. When the price is lowered to $420, and R D for the product lowered to 25% then, the tablet will perform better than its competitors in the market. At this time, the total sales will be 1, 371, 992 in 2012, and 2, 316, 675 in 2013. However, according to SLP 3 that would mean that the company would have to reduce the production volume to achieve default run profitability. On the other hand, if the company increases the cost of X6 tablet to $450 and R D to 40% it would mean that the customers pay the same for the tablet as they pay for other competing tablets in the market. In that case, it would call for a decision on the side of the customer based on their loyalty for them to purchase the tablet. In so doing, the organization will register a sale volume of $1, 854, 036 in 2014 and $2, 337, 247 in 2015. If the company will increase the price further to $470 and increase R D to 45%, then tablet X6 will be less expensive for customers to buy than competing tablets. With that change, the company will make sales of 2, 337, 247 in 2014 and 1, 180 751 in 2015. The reason for the decline will be because the product will have reached the shakeout stage where the number of new customers will progressively decline (Calvin, 2002). Following the analysis above, the best strategy for tablet X6 is to increase the price to $450 and R D to 40% for between 2012 and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Medea Analysis Medea Medea plays a lot of rolls in this epic, and it s hard to explain how she is that smart to be an actor. The thing is, she is a scary woman, and after one day she is a queen who will conquer the world. There are a lot of different interpretations of the acts that Medea has committed throughout this play. For example, one could say that Medea should be prosecuted for the murders that she committed, or one could also admit that Medea should not be held responsible for her actions due to other reasons. Medea murders a total of four people in this play: Princess, the two sons, and the kind Creon. However, Medea does not kill Creon directly because she tried to kill the princess but the king tried to help the princess. While trying to help the princess, the king touches the coat to kill himself a long with his daughter. The murder of Creon is not placed against her because she is not held responsible for her actions. Medea is not held responsible due to the context in this play and on a legal note as well. We had reached beyond modernity with technology, consumerism, and the youth leading us to the suburbs of discontent. According to Hugh Heclo, There came surge of personal discontent and social self questioning that would constitute the great awakening of the 1960s. He goes on to argue that people no longer accepted the status quo and from the counter culture groups we have studied in class this is evident. People were more concerned with morals and institutional openness in order to create a better vision of the world than the traditional ideals of the Cold War era. Heclos main argument is that this vision is the legacy of the Sixties is the tendency for peoples to question their governments practices, in the name of a more egalitarian society. I agree with his assertions and can see proof in the Yippee movement, Students for a democratic society, and Young Americans for Freedom. The counterculture shows how action was taken to restructure the government in their own way in order to help the newly oppressed. While the groups do not exist in the same way today, the actions they took made a lasting impression on the fabric of society and government. The Yippies were radical and wanted a complete rejection and reformulation of the American system. Essay On Hero s Journey Of A Hero The Difficult Journey of a Hero The true definition of a hero has been argued among authors time and time again but Christopher Reeve, the man who played the role of the well known superhero Superman, stated it the best when he said A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. Many people have the option between choosing to be brave and choosing to be a coward. One of the main things that differentiates the two is that one who is brave is willing to face and endure pain or danger for the better of people around them. This story shows how being rewarded and being punished makes the individual and makes an identity. Behaviorism is the idea that your behavior is determined by punishment or reward. • 26. Intellectual Humility And The Education World Intellectual Humility in the Education World Every teacher has their own bias. The people who write state standards and state tests also have biases. Students are biased on what they think they need to pay attention to in class. Teachers, state governments and students each believe that they know what is most important in their separate fields. None of these groups like to be told that they are teaching, writing, or learning wrong. However, it is still necessary for people to remain open to criticism because criticism may lead to an improvement down the road. But each group needs another group to be able to call them out on these issues. This is called staying humble. Intellectual humility is admitting to not knowing everything in a field of interest but still being willing to accept criticism in order to further knowledge of a subject and become more capable of doing a job better than before. Intellectual humility is combination of two things: common sense and critical thinking. Common sense is a characteristic that people sneer at. Speaking from experience, humans are prone to not listening to advice and doing what they think it is the best option. When peers and teachers start listing off x, y, and z reasons for why what they are doing is a bad idea, people without common sense will refuse to listen. • 30. Short Stories In Native American Literature Native American literature is in its self a very unique way of telling stories. In these types of stories, I found that the stories were much different than the stories of the northern American writers I was used too. What I found was the most interesting about the native American writers that I was reading about is how similar the short stories and poems seemed. Erna Gunther, the author of the Native American Literature article stated, These include ancient hieroglyphic and pictographic writings of Middle America as well as an extensive set of folktales, myths, and oral histories that were transmitted for centuries by storytellers and that live on in the language works of many contemporary American Indian writers (Gunther). There was a very clear idea that the native American writes were more alike in the themes and ideas that they were writing about. It is not a surprise when I read and come across writers who have very different ways in telling a story or poem. But what seemed to interest me when reading the work of two different Native American writers is how similar they are and not as different as one would imagine. The different prospective of writers are their true identities as a writer so it is amazing to see when some writers can see through the same lens. When researching Native American writers, I came across two writers, both women, with a similar back ground and also a very similar was of showing amazing imagery when telling the stories. It was very clear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Anti-Drugs Policies in the 1960s Essay Drugs have been influencing the ideas, culture, and music of America for ages. Illicit narcotics have left the Union in a state of immense debt. Anti drug policies have been dumping billions upon billions of dollars in prevention, punishment, and rehabilitation. From the roaring twenties, to the prohibition, drugs have always been fought (Bailey). Most times, the drugs start off as medicines and end up being harmful (Morris). Perhaps, the most prominent and influential eras of drug use in America are the two decades of the 60 s and twenty years later, the 80 s. It may very well be that these two decades molded America into what it is now. The sixties had a huge pull from conservative America of the post war era. Vietnam veterans were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One score years later, LSD was being used recreationally by the new counterculture, or hippies. Many people turned to this mind altering drug as way to experience nature, and the company of others. Why would they use so many drugs? The counterculture was set on doing the opposite of what was seen as the right way of doing things. They protested many of Nixon s policies and their use of drugs was one form of protest, along with their music and free love. They wanted to create friction between the government and the people. The movement was so strong that it pushed on into the early 70 s. Television sitcoms, like That 70 s Show, point out the strong impact of drug use left by the sixties with the main characters constantly joining in circles and smoking Marijuana. LSD has impacted the music and culture of America the most. The Beatles are a rock band that came from England. Their music became a hit in the United States during the sixties and early seventies, in what became known as the British Invasion. Some of their songs, like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds are hidden ways of saying LSD (Nagle). People would gather together in large music festivals, to partake in the enjoyment of listening to some their favorite bands and among other things to smoke marijuana and take acid. Woodstock was a 3 day music festival taking place in the town of Bethel, New York. It was the biggest congregation of the counterculture at the time. Some 400,000 people went to listen to ... Medical mistakes in the diagnosis and treatment of hospital patients are unfortunately among the most common cases of hospital malpractice seen by malpractice lawyers. Misdiagnosis of the patient s condition, improperly interpreted diagnostic tests, negligently performed surgeries and medication errors are all examples of medical negligence and can all have devastating effects on patients already admitted to a hospital with an illness or injury. This can be considered hospital malpractice. Understaffing of hospitals and overworking of hospital employees contributes to the dangers of a hospital visit. Long delays in emergency rooms, as well as waiting for radiology tests and delays in performing surgery can all permit a patient s condition to worsen. In addition, patients frequently arrive at the hospital with one type of illness, and sustain an injury or infection in the hospital that they never had before. Often these patients are in much worse physical condition leaving the hospital than when they went in. Sometimes patients injured by a hospital in the case of medical negligence require extensive treatments or multiple surgeries to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
