problems for the Cuban society and its people, and relations between the two nations have been at
odds for decades due to the harsh foreign policy stance of the United States toward Cuba. The United

Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) is the term given to removed and/or reprocessed pavement
materials from an old pavement containing bitumen and aggregates. These materials are obtained
when asphalt pavements are removed for reconstruction, resurfacing, or to gain access to buried
utilities. When properly crushed and screened, RAP consists of high quality, well graded aggregates
coated by asphalt cement (FHWA 1998).

represents the M 77 cation fragment resulting from the loss of the phenyl group and this ion is not
observed in the inverse isomer. The 1 benzoyl 3 n pentylindole inverse regioisomer shows a base peak

99 Card Game Math Fair
The game that I choose for the Math Fair was the 99 card game. This is where students can practices
uses their mental math skills and add up numbers to 99. Ten was the only number that they can be
subtracted in this game. This game can be played with 2 to 5 players and if you go over 99 you are
out. To first start off the game each player is dealt 3 cards and they add those up to get their running
total. All cards are worth their face value except for the following: king is automatically 99, four
reverses the order, ten subjects ten from the running total, ace counts as one, and nine skips your turn.
Finally, if you go over 99 you are out and the last player playing wins.
A modification that I added was allowing the students a small scratch paper to write down their
running total so they wouldn t forget. However, I noticed that some students were not using it as

As Jill Soloway s TV show Transparent begins, the opening credits offer a glimpse into the ideas of
gender. From the lighting of a candle, symbolizing light into the darkness of life, to a shimmering blue
dress that worn by a female impersonator the opening credits reveal the process of becoming a
transgender. Transitioning from a male to a female, or vice versa, is a feat that only a few come to do.
However, in the show Transparent, Mort Pfefferman transitions into Maura Pfefferman, a masculine
figure who blossoms in femininity and bravery. While it is already a difficult task to come out as
transgender, Maura has to deal with the drama revolving with her family.
Throughout the first season of Transparent, gender identity is explored and seen through the
challenges that the characters face. For instance, Maura struggles to reveal his true identity to his
children. In episode 1, Pilot, Mort calls his children and invites them to dinner. The children suspect
that Maura has a terminal disease; however, Maura is planning on revealing his greatest secret: that
she is transitioning. Later that evening, after Sarah and Josh leave, Ali, the child who Maura sees
resemblance in the most, stays aside to talk to Maura. They have a quick conversation about their

hidden or not visible aspects that need to be considered. For example, we need to take in consideration
things that will promote or affect commitment, productivity as well as motivation. As Peterson, K. D.,
Deal, T. E. (1999) mentioned, School culture inﬂuences what people pay attention to (focus), how they
identify with the school (commitment), how hard they work (motivation), and the degree to which
they achieve their goals (productivity)... For instance something things that we take for granted such

voice we use might set the wrong culture. Even though, we are all trying to catch up, we need to take

Our school is doing many things to foster our vision and mission which is All students are getting the
best learning opportunities... As part of this, the school is running before and after school extended
learning programs in which some students, those whose reading performance is under grade level, will
be invited and motivate to assist. Teachers are having conversations with parents to help them

with an abusive relationship, how to realize that you are in an abusive relationship, and how to leave.

my junior year of high school as I met my boyfriend, John (names have been changed). At first,
everything was great. I was a cheerleader and he was a football player; the perfect combination. As

He would have his fair share with other girls and would degrade me. The name calling then turned
into screaming arguments, leaving me in tears. If I did not do what he wanted, he would make sure to
make my life a living hell. I began to lose many great friendships because I was not allowed to
hangout with anyone. He would keep tabs on me all of the time. I was not allowed to drink alcohol, go
to parties, hangout with my family, or have any guy friends.
Now, I know what you are all thinking. Leah, why did you stay? Honestly, I can t really answer this

too ugly to ever find someone to love. And every time I did try to leave, he would always find a way
