Predatory Lending in the Housing Industry Essay
The Ethics of Predatory Lending in the Housing Industry
The real estate industry is thriving with approximately sixty eight percent of all Americans being
homeowners. With low interest rates, 1st time home buyer down payment assistance programs, and
government funded educational opportunities (i.e. the Home Ownership Center of Greater Cincinnati),
the real estate and mortgage lending industries will continue to flourish. However, there are some
unethical lending practices that are threatening the housing industry as a whole.
Those involved in the mortgage lending process have some duty to the borrower. They are expected to
perform their specific duties in an ethical manner and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mortgage Insurance Companies: Mortgage insurance companies are generally used if the borrowers
down payment are less than twenty percent of the purchase price of the home. This is called PMI
(Private Mortgage Insurance). The cost of private mortgage insurance is included in a buyer s monthly
payment.
What is happening is that there are some unethical lending practices that are threatening the housing
industry as a whole. The concern involves the practices of some sub prime lenders. These practices are
considered to be predatory on consumers. Sub prime lenders offer home loans (Equity Loans amp; 1st
Time Home Purchase Loans) to moderate to lower income families. These clients are considered to be
high credit risk borrowers, also know as B C D credit clients. Interest rates and other loan terms
generally cost more than those paid by clients served by prime lenders with better credit records (A
credit clients). Sub prime borrowers end up paying more simply because the risk of loan repayment is
fundamentally higher than that of a prime market borrower.
These predatory practices include, but are not limited to:
Extremely high interest rates, discount points, closing costs, and broker fees.
Borrowers with inadequate income, receiving loans that they will default

Don Pedro And Don John Foil
In fiction, a foil is a character who contrasts with another character usually the protagonist in order to
highlight particular qualities of the other character. . In Much Ado About Nothing A character named
Don John tries to ruin Claudio and Hero s wedding. In this book there is a lot of confusion and
trickery and the other character must figure out Don John s plan before the wedding is ruined. In the
play Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, Don John and Don Pedro are foils of each
other because they have different views on life, different social status, and have different personalities.
The reason Don pedro and Don john are foils of each other is because of the polar opposites of social
status. For Don Jon says I wonder that thou, being, as thou sayest thou art, born under Saturn, goest
about to apply a moral medicine to a mortifying mischief. I cannot hide what I am: I ... Show more

pedro is a good friend he helps Claudio this shows he is happy with his life because he is helping
others and has friends. Don John would never have done that for Conrad and Borachio. These
differences emphasizes the foil of Don John and Don

Evaluation of Scalia s Dissent on Lawrence V. Texas
Amanda Black Exam Essays Fall Quarter 12/5/2007 Scalia explains his dissenting opinion to the
overturning of Lawrence v. Texas by comparing the case to Roe v. Wade in three areas. He looks at
stare decisis, fundamental rights, and legal moralism. There are three things that need to be proven
before the court can overrule a decision in regards to stare decisis. 1) Its foundations have been eroded
by subsequent decisions; 2) it has been subject to substantial and continuing criticism; 3) it has not
induced individual or social reliance that counsels against overturning it. The court ruled that all of
these requirements have been met in Bowers; therefore they overturned Lawrence v. Texas. The court
now claims that Planned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do agree, though, that Bowers has societal reliance because of all the cases he cited that directly refer
to the case as the basis of their decision. I wonder, though, if Bowers is, in fact, the only case that
allows laws based on state morals. Scalia says that we are in a culture war between the homosexual
activists and those who wish to criminalize homosexual behavior. The government says laws like
Bowers discriminate against homosexuals and should not be in effect, therefore, according to Scalia,
they are taking sides in this culture war. The court tells Americans that it is wrong to discriminate, but
most states uphold laws that mandate and uphold such behavior (discharging persons in the military
who engage in homosexual activity and Boy Scouts of America v. Dale.) Scalia says that many
Americans do not want persons who openly engage in homosexual conduct as partners in their
business, as schoolmasters for their children s schools, or as boarders in their home. He thinks that the
majority of Americans are against homosexuality and the court does not realize it. I agree with Scalia
when he points out that there are laws that invite discrimination against homosexuals, but I feel that
the government is taking a step in the right direction by overturning Lawrence v. Texas. Our laws may
not be consistent yet, but I believe, in time,

The Maryland Blue Crab ( Callinectes Sapidus )
Organism Profile SCIN 130
Species Profile of the Maryland Blue Crab (Callinectes sapidus)

American Public University System
Abstract
The Callinectes sapidus also known commonly as the Maryland Blue Crab, is a crustacean found in
the Chesapeake Bay. The blue crab is found in aquatic environments, most often in estuaries. It
characterized by it s blue claws. The blue crabs undergo a life cycle of: zoeae, megalop, juvenile, and
adulthood. The blue crab s hard shells serve as a protective barrier for external dangers. The
Callinectes sapidus comes from the order of Decapods, whereby it s carapace has now evolved to be
better suited for swimming. Of interest is the blue crab s mating ... Show more content on

It shares ancestral background with shrimp and lobsters. They are omnivores with their prey being
mussels, fish, plants, and smaller blue crabs (Society). Although the Blue Crab is well established
within its ecosystem it is highly sensitive to environmental and habitat changes ( Blue Crab, Maryland
State Crustacean , 2016). The detrimental conditions of the Chesapeake Bay have affected the
populations of Blue Crabs along with over harvesting.
Life Cycle The life cycle of a Blue Crab involves Zoeae, Megalops, Juveniles, and Adulthood (Zinski,
2006) ( Blue Crab Life Cycle, 2016). Mating occurs only once for female crabs. Female crabs undergo
a pubertal mold which is indicative of a sexually mature state in their life cycle. During the pubertal
molt females release pheromones which attract males. The actual ritual of mating does not occur until
females molt their shells (Zinski, 2006). At which point females will then retreat to high salinity water
to begin spawning. Spawning will occur for the first time 2 9 months after mating. Interestingly, males
will protect females during the period which females have molted and it is at this point in which
mating occurs (Hill, 2004). As previously mentioned Blue Crabs are highly susceptible to changes in
environmental conditions. As an example, larvae require high salinity waters. Larvae require salinity
of at least 20 ppt and below that threshold, there is poor likelihood of survival ability.

Bigotry And Social Oppression In The Early 20th Century
Oppression is defined as prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control. Oppression comes in many
forms: racial oppression, misogyny, class oppression, and many other forms. Social oppression, a
concept that describes a relationship of dominance and subordination between categories of people,
causes one group of people to benefit from the systematic abuse, exploitation, and injustice of another
group of people. Bigotry is one of the main causes of social oppression. Failing to tolerate those who
form different opinions causes people to commit cruel acts. Evidence of bigotry and social oppression
can be seen through the acts that the Nazis committed in the early 20th century. Picasso s Guernica
(1937) was created during a time when Nazis reigned. He created this piece, reflecting his opposition
to their actions. Guernica addresses the darkness and brutality that the Nazis represented. This theme
is discussed in works by both Nietzsche and Fanon. Through Fanon s examination of the superiority
complex in Black Skin, White Masks and Nietzsche s discussion of Apolline culture, I ve discovered
that there is always a party that designated themselves as the dominant culture, contributing to social
oppression.
Guernica (1937) was created to be part of the Spanish Pavilion at the International Exposition in Paris
in 1937. Pablo Picasso s motivation for painting the piece was the news of the German Nazi bombing
of the Basque town, Guernica. Picasso had seen dramatic photos published

Bartleby, the Hero in Herman Melville’s Short Story...
Bartleby, The Hero in Herman Melville s short Story Bartleby the Scrivener In Herman Melville s
short story Bartleby the Scrivener, Bartleby is the hero. The reasons as to why Bartleby is considered
the hero of the story are that first, the character refuses to write in his job in the law office. He even
starves himself to death by refusing to eat, but in the end, the spirit of Bartleby still remains alive and
haunts the narrator. Throughout his life, the narrator remains haunted by the spiritual pride and

This aspect of Bartleby s heroism affects the story by developing a new theme to the story and
developing the character of the narrator who is part of the story as the boss to Bartleby. It develops the
theme of association between chronometrical time and the world of the spirits. It also changes the
character of the narrator because he develops a new attitude towards time, and the world of spirits,
which changes his normal way of belief. The narrator of the story becomes shocked when he discovers
that Bartleby, who only feeds on ginger nuts, has never left the office. This is actually the first time
that the narrator experiences the spiritual power that Bartleby possesses. The narrator is so much
business oriented that he only looks at the world in terms of profits. However, when he encounters this
aspect of the spirit of Bartleby, his attitude towards life changes. He begins appreciating the fact that
Bartleby deserves better treatment, not in the capitalist way. The narrator even sees what is a right, just
as an asset, but this perception is later changed by Bartleby s spirit: What earthly right have you to
stay here? Do you pay any rent? Do you pay my taxes? Or is this property yours? (Melville, 41). The
perception of the narrator, of everything including rights of Bartleby as assets prevents the narrator
from understanding the spiritual aspect of the pride in Bartleby. Although the narrator

Boston Tea Party Dbq
The Boston Tea Party occurred on December 16, 1773, and is marked as one of the greatest catalysts
of the American Revolution. Colonists were enraged by British taxation without proper representation
after the French and Indian war. The war had cost the crown dearly and in response, parliament passed
the Stamp Act in 1765 and the Townsend Revenue Acts in 1767 as an effort to replenish their depleted
treasury. Parliament retraced the Stamp Act and the taxes put in place by the Townsend Acts, except
for a duty on tea; a demonstration of Parliament s ability and right to tax the colonies ( The Boston Tea
Party ). This caused patriots across the country to refuse to allow ships of tea to land as a protest of

Imperial Decline Causes
Causes of Imperial Decline
During the period of 600 BCE to 600 CE there was much political unrest throughout the world. This
essay will analyze the reason for collapse of once powerful ancient empires by scrutinizing the rulers
who led them. By looking at the circumstances of a fallen empire, a person can asses that the neglect
of government officials, stressed with vast war expenses, who levy high taxes that lead to peasant
uprisings, is the circular chain of events that will always eventually crumble a weak empire. And as
specific as they may seem, these crises developed many a time. The circular chain of events almost
always begins with a neglectful leader. But neglect can be defined in multiple ways. Emperor Han
Huandi of Han China was neglectful in his style of governing. He increased the power of his court
eunuchs, thus corrupting the system. Bribery was common. With the government corruption, less time
was spent worrying about common folk. Rebellions took place, and Han Huandi continued to ignore
his people, not granting them any compromise. Although the Han dynasty did not immediately come

In determining the FMV of both classes of NYC medallions, we analyzed the various methodologies
for calculating the estimated value of the medallion and found the approach used in this report, the
income approach, to be the most concrete based on factual data to render this type of assessment. As
such, the analysis in this report is limited to, and only should be adopted holistically with, the
pertinent qualifying parameters.
After an extensive review of all applicable datasets and information, we conclude that the taxicab
medallion values for the period for January 2016 to April 2017, calculated using the discounted cash
flow methodology, were $550,000 and $1,108,000, respectively.
The subsequent sections of the report will: (1) provide an overview of the NYC taxi medallion market
and new market entrants impact on the taxi industry; (2) identify the best approach to determine
medallion valuation (3) analyze data gathered using discounted cash flow to assess valuation of both
classes of medallions.

The Lowest Animal Satire Essay
Mark Twain, America s greatest Humorist, shows his skills in satire in The Lowest Animal. Satire is

Essay about The role of Advanced Practice Nursing (APN)
The role of Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) has changed dramatically in recent years. Currently, the
Unite States (U.S.) health care is focusing on delivering a cost effective health care to all patients. In
the last decades, there were many efforts to control health care over spending in the U.S. One of such
efforts is to focus on applying proven principles of evidence based practice and cost effectiveness to
find the least expensive way to produce a specific clinical service of acceptable quality (Bauer, 2010).
The vast changes in health care system, such as cost, need for high productivity, limitation on
reimbursement, and the inadequacy on access have made APNs to think in a way where they most fit
to provide independent care for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Relationship Between Google And Our Individual Right
Summary:
Following will be the analysis of the relationship between Google and our individual right to privacy.
Google is constantly gathering personal information about people when they use various Google
products. The extent Google is involved in our lives, as well as the methods used to gather data on
individuals, is not known by most people. This report is going to take a brief look into whether Google
s practices are ethical as well as legal.
Why this paper is of interest?
This paper should be of interest to the reader because most people use at least one Google product on
a daily basis, probably more. When you sign up for Google products, you are pretty much agreeing to

Bishop s Same Gender Couples Adoption
Bishop Disapproves Same Gender Couples Adoption Rights in Czech Republic
In response to a change in the Czech Republic s law now affirming the rights of LGB people adopting
children, Bishop Vaclav Maly chairman of the Justice and Peace Commission of the Czech Bishops
Conference stated:
The model of the family, constituted by a man and a woman, has been proved over thousands of years
and shown by numerous expert studies to serve a child s physical and psychological needs best,
according to an article on The Tablet.
In June of 2016, the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic struck down the law that kept LGB
people in same gender partnerships from adopting children. The Czech Republic, where Catholicism
is the dominant religion, has seen slow change from their landmark decision in 2006 that created a
registered partnership class for same gender couples. Registered partnerships are similar to marriages
but with less rights, such as until recently not having the right to adopt children. The previous law,
however, allowed LGB people not in registered partnerships to adopt and only restricted those in
registered partnerships. The court s June decision allows one member of a registered partnership to
adopt but does not yet allow both partners to hold joint custody.
In a statement, Bishop Vaclav Maly said that recent increases in child abuse and neglect in the Czech
Republic required increased dialogue on the country s adoption and foster care. After researching

Cloning Persuasive Essay On Jurassic World

Cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and AIDS are some of the most lethal diseases that people die from
every single day. These diseases can be passed on into the next generation of our children. Although,
this problem could be avoided by using the method of cloning. In addition, our best and bravest
soldiers that are sent into wars often times come back with missing limbs. These veterans can t walk
without a prosthetic or feed themselves without a nurse. Cloning would enable them to improve the
quality of their life by letting them truly experience what goes on around them and that is why they
would greatly appreciate the mechanisms of cloning. Cloning has the power to enable these
individuals to live out their dreams and continue to show their patriotism. In other cases, cloning could
bring hope to a patient who is undergoing the transplant process, a tedious, difficult, and nonetheless
expensive procedure. Yes, it is true that thousands of people are saved each year by organ
transplantation, yet even more die each year waiting while their organs shut down. Many people have

The background of the paintings and some visual elements are the same when it comes to the meaning
of the painting. To a non art student the visual at first glance is very important to set the tone of the
paintings. This helps the viewer understand the groundwork of the subject matter. Picasso s Guernica
is very representational but I can also see so abstract aspects in a weird way. Goya s Third of May is
naturalistic and representational but unlike Guernica we can clearly see the people who are in charge
causing the struggle. In both paintings the value of the light plays important role in the paintings.
Picasso uses shades of black and white to show all the different aspects and the painting. Goya uses
the value of the light to direct our attention to the main events in the painting. The lines in Guernica is
more curvy, where as Goya s third of May has more straight lines which effects the flow of the
painting. In both of the paintings the background of the paintings are very similar. People, places,
animals and things are being destroyed because of ruling issues. In Goya s painting to can see
hopelessness and suffering on the man s face while begging for his life. Both of the paintings we can

Ted Lavender Characteristics
If you were to ask any individual what their idea of a hero is, they ll most likely give you a perfect
description of superman, but that s the fictional visual that s been placed into the minds of the general
public. What is a true hero? A true hero is selfless, brave, and determined; someone like Ted Lavender.
Lavender was highly respected, he was as brave as he could be without needing recognition, and he
took a bullet to the head. He will never be stripped of his humble and heroic reputation.
A man who puts his life on the line; a man who does what he feels he must do. It s evident that no man
wants to go into war, anyone could run from it like Tim O brien when he was drafted into the Vietnam
War, but Lavender faced a terrifying scenario head on. A hero is selfless, brave, and determined. The
act of fighting in the war automatically makes a hero all of the above; wartime hero s put their life on
the line, they commit to their duties and they never know whether they ll come out of it alive. These
hero s demonstrate many of the characteristics of a hero and they do so with dignity. A hero impacts
all aspects of someone s life and leaves a positive impression, but there s no limit to the amount of
characteristics that could be used to define a hero. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Feminist Poets Like Emily Dickinson And Anne Bradstreet
The society always queries about the role of women and for centuries, they have struggled to find their
place in a world that is predominantly male oriented. The treatment of women was remarkably
negative; they were expected to stay home and fulfil the domestic duties. Literature of that time
embodies and mirrors social issues of women in society (Lecture on the Puritans). But, slowly and
gradually, situation being changed: During the first half of the 19th century, women s roles in society
evolved in the areas of occupational, moral, and social reform. Through efforts such as factory
movements, social reform, and women s rights, their aims were realized and foundations for further
reform were established (Lauter 1406). Feminist poets like Emily Dickinson and Anne Bradstreet
talked substantially about feminism in different lights in the past two centuries. They were very vocal
and assertive about their rights and the rights for women in general. While they might have been
successful at making a good attempt to obliterate gender biases but still there are lot of disparities
between the two genders. Nevertheless, their poetry reflects a deep angst. Anne Bradstreet, an
eighteen year old educated upper class English woman, arrived in Salem in 1630 (Cowell 418). Two
hundred years after Bradstreet s arrival in America, in 1830, in a town about a hundred miles from
Salem: Amherst, Emily Dickinson was born to a prominent local family that had established itself in

of Israel. The people of Israel fail short of keeping the covenant with God, and He sent His son as the

From God s creation of man to the idea of humanity in this world is revealed by God s living word.
When God created man in His image, He revealed how important it is for us to be in a relationship

Adelphi, Maryland. The measurements of the University is 240 feet long, 95 feet wide and 30 feet tall
and broken down to two different floors. This University will be used for education purposes of
course, the facility will be made of six instructional labs, seven offices, library, five classrooms, a
student lobby and a computer lab. There will be a server room on each floor. The purpose of this paper
is to explain the design of the networks in this building. The student accessed computers will be set up
on a separate network than the network that they staff will be using. The entire building will share one
internet access connection, which is a T 1 link from Verizon. A T1 link is one of the most common
Internet access connections used by small businesses. T 1 Link is very fast, consistent and protected. It
runs with a bandwidth speeds of 1.5Mb (WordPress.com). That speed is enough to achieve and
complete essential business functions. Security is definitely a must and big concern that has to be
taken into consideration when design networks, whether it is a business or a home network. Building a
network in a university, we have to protect students and employee s data as well as any intellectual
property that college has on the servers and computers. Additional, there are other considerations for

methamphetamine), also known as ecstasy or Molly, is a psychoactive drug that is similar to both the
stimulant drug amphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline. Those taking the drug typically
experience feelings of increased energy, euphoria, emotional warmth and empathy. However, there can
also be negative side effects to its use, including confusion, depression, insomnia, and anxiety.
Additionally, heavy users also experience confusion, memory loss, and problems with attention. It is
unknown whether or not the drug is addictive, but some experiments have shown that some users
report symptoms of dependence, tolerance, and withdrawal. (Volkow, 2013)

Macbeth Tragic Hero
In Shakespeare s play Macbeth, the main character goes from being a virtuous war hero at the
beginning of the story to a malevolent tyrant towards the end. This defines Macbeth as a tragic hero
throughout the play. A tragic hero is a literary character who makes a judgment error that inevitably
leads to his/her own destruction. Not only does he fit the definition of a tragic hero, but he also
exhibits many important characteristics that shape this description. These characteristics include being
an individual of high noble birth and incorporating many admirable heroic qualities. Further, tragic
heroes are doomed to make a serious error in judgement and are responsible for their own fate. As

In response to the first murderer telling Macbeth that Fleance had escaped the murder, Macbeth states,
The young snake that escaped will in time become poisonous and threatening (3.4.32 33). This shows
how Macbeth realized how he made an irreversible mistake as he knew that the witches predicted
Banquo s sons to eventually become king. Therefore, Fleance could be a threat to his throne. Before
this occurred, Macbeth also says, Then comes my fit again. I had else been perfect, Whole as the
marble, founded as the rock, As broad and general as the casing air. But now I am cabined, cribbed,
confined, bound in To saucy doubts and fears (3.4.23 27). This event proves how Macbeth is worried
about his throne as confidence in safety and innocence collapses. Now that Fleance has escaped as
well, Macbeth is put up with the greater threat of trying to find him again later on in order kill him.
This allows Fleance to stay safe for a while, and become a larger threat to Macbeth as he is becoming
more prepared and older for the throne if something were to happen to Macbeth. After he realizes that
he had made an irreversible mistake, Macbeth then accepts responsibility for his own fate. Upon
seeing the ghost of Banquo at his banquet, Macbeth says, You can t say I did it. Don t shake your
bloody head at me (3.4.59 60). This highlights how Macbeth is unconsciously facing and accepting
the responsibility for his own fate. Since Macbeth saw a ghost of his best friend that he killed, this
shows how guilt is definitely on his mind, and how he must be ashamed of his actions. If Macbeth
honestly didn t face and accept responsibility for his own fate, he would have disregarded the ghost
altogether and probably would have went with the assumption of having too much wine when he first
came in contact with the ghost. Towards the end of the play, Macbeth decides to leave his castle and

Maccabi USA , 2017). The overall community comes from meeting other Jewish teens from across the
country. Weaknesses: The main weakness of the games is the Jewish requirement of most
stakeholders. 3% of the US population is Jewish meaning that most athletes and host families are not
eligible to participate ( Vital Statistics, 2016). Opportunities: The largest opportunities are creating
ongoing revenue streams, energizing Tucson JCC staff, and creating a sense of community (T.

significant economic impact on Tucson whereas energizing staff and creating a sense of community

summer weather of Tucson. The two stakeholders are necessary to host the Games successfully and
the dangerous weather could lead to delays and injuries. Trends: The most important trend is the 1%

DLIS risk manager and team will now be responsible with developing a risk mitigation plan based on
inputs provided by said team. Funds have been allocated for the plan due to the importance of risk
mitigation to the organization. Thus, senior management is committed to and supportive of the project
(ITT Technical Institute, 2015). Documentation, training, policies and procedures are helpful when
creating, testing and implementing a new risk mitigation plan. Documentation is extremely helpful as
it gives information on where the company was before the new plan was created, where the company
will be once the plan has been implemented and where the company will be in the future if the plan is

Silko s Three-C Themes
After a discussion in class, the professor and students acknowledged a concise meaning for the
definition of theme. The literature class concluded that theme can be defined with three aspects. First,
it can be used in the form of being implicit or insinuated. This means it is rarely acknowledged and
masked by the author s words. Second, it can be used as explicit or instantly recognizable. For
example, when Silko says that Teofilo is dead, he openly states it in the work. Lastly, the theme is the
main idea that the author wants to impress upon the readers through actions of the characters and the
setting. For instance, When Leon paints Teofilo s face he is sharing an action to the audience.
However, there must be evidence for this trio of reasons. The audience will find them with the three C
theme. Change, continuity, and creativity are the three implied and explicit elements given by the
author. Like a three stranded braid, the three C theme is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first factor in the theme would be change, which is used in the context of altering or converting.
Silko s text is implying the New Mexico tribe s altering of their faith and conversion to Roman
Catholicism. For example, in section 1 of the text, the author notes that the characters are still
practicing pagan worship. Yet, in section 4, they go to the priest for Sprinkling of the Holy Water. The
theme of change is an explicit action. It is implied that the Indians have not left the boundaries of their
Gods to form a devout unity with the Evangelicals. Next, we can grasp the idea of continuity. This is
another significant ingredient for the theme. Having a connection into eternalness is implied and
explicit during Teofilo s burial and the hope that might bring rain. Last of the three factors is
creativity. A people without a vision or dream will perish. The inspiring thought of Heaven the dream
of the afterlife is imperative for the tribe s spiritual

Disengagement And Continuity Theory Analysis
During the late 1900 s, many different psychosocial theories were used to define how human beings
behave during the later years of life, but how well do these theories hold up today? In order to
determine this, I asked my two grandmothers, Dana Russo (73) and Jane Steinthal (78), to answer a
series of questions to determine if their retirement locations correlated with behaviors described in
different theories of aging. While both sets of grandparents lived in New York at one point in time,

outgoing socially, having a number of both new and old friends, and showed a willingness to help
those she cares about no matter how far away they are. She even stated that she d probably do more if
she ever moved to Florida in order to replace the current hobbies she has back at home like gardening

Social Construction theories, someone who benefits mentally from being their for others and getting
involved with her community. However, what s fascinating is while Jane, a middle old elder, is the one
exhibiting these attitudes toward life she, according to the theories, should be like Dana dealing with
qualities of disengagement. According to an article written by professors from the University of

Inflation INFLATION CAN OUR ECONOMY GROW WITHOUT IT?
INFLATION CAN OUR ECONOMY GROW WITHOUT IT? What is inflation? The definition of
inflation, according to Webster s Revised Unabridged Dictionary, is an undue expansion or increase,
from overissue. Although, Webster s is considered by most to be the overall best dictionary, WordNet
states the meaning of inflation a lot clearer by saying, it s a general and progressive increase in prices.
It occurs when the value of goods rises faster than the value of money. The usual approximate measure
of this is the Consumer Price Index, which weigh the prices of different goods according to
importance in a typical budget and then shows how much the prices of these goods have increased.

That s an incredible drop for such a short period of time. Another good demonstration of a healthy
economy with low secondary effects of inflation is time period between the Korean Vietnam Wars.
During this time the countries economy expanded at an annual average of 3.5% while the inflation rate
stayed at a minimal amount. Our central bank, along with the Clinton Administrations and many other
major economists seem to believe that any kind of growth in the economy of over 2.5% will trigger
inflation. That s why so many economists assumed that with the ever lowering unemployment rates of
recent, there would be huge increases in wages and it would sharply inflate prices. This same
assumption was made because of the Federal Reserve s actions in the past. In 1994 the Federal
Reserve tried slowing down the economy in the fight against inflation by raising interest rates. They
were not thinking of the opportunity costs of a million new jobs that could have been created, but were
not, due to the economies slumping standards.
Because of this, many personal incomes that could have been increased were not. This is just one
example of market failure through the ideas of Phillips Curve and the Consumer Price Indexes. As I
stated earlier, the Consumer Price Indexes, that most economists go by to judge inflation, are not

Predatory Lending in the Housing Industry Essay The Ethics of Predatory Lending in the Housing Industry The real estate industry is thriving with approximately sixty eight percent of all Americans being homeowners. With low interest rates, 1st time home buyer down payment assistance programs, and government funded educational opportunities (i.e. the Home Ownership Center of Greater Cincinnati), the real estate and mortgage lending industries will continue to flourish. However, there are some unethical lending practices that are threatening the housing industry as a whole. Those involved in the mortgage lending process have some duty to the borrower. This is called PMI (Private Mortgage Insurance). The cost of private mortgage insurance is included in a buyer s monthly payment. What is happening is that there are some unethical lending practices that are threatening the housing industry as a whole. The concern involves the practices of some sub prime lenders. These practices are considered to be predatory on consumers. Sub prime lenders offer home loans (Equity Loans amp; 1st Time Home Purchase Loans) to moderate to lower income families. These clients are considered to be high credit risk borrowers, also know as B C D credit clients. Interest rates and other loan terms generally cost more than those paid by clients served by prime lenders with better credit records (A credit clients). • 4. Don Pedro And Don John Foil In fiction, a foil is a character who contrasts with another character usually the protagonist in order to highlight particular qualities of the other character. . In Much Ado About Nothing A character named Don John tries to ruin Claudio and Hero s wedding. In this book there is a lot of confusion and trickery and the other character must figure out Don John s plan before the wedding is ruined. In the play Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, Don John and Don Pedro are foils of each other because they have different views on life, different social status, and have different personalities. The reason Don pedro and Don john are foils of each other is because of the polar opposites of social status. For Don Jon says I wonder that thou, being, as thou sayest thou art, born under Saturn, goest about to apply a moral medicine to a mortifying mischief. I cannot hide what I am: I ... • 5. Evaluation of Scalia s Dissent on Lawrence V. Texas Amanda Black Exam Essays Fall Quarter 12/5/2007 Scalia explains his dissenting opinion to the overturning of Lawrence v. Texas by comparing the case to Roe v. Wade in three areas. He looks at stare decisis, fundamental rights, and legal moralism. There are three things that need to be proven before the court can overrule a decision in regards to stare decisis. 1) Its foundations have been eroded by subsequent decisions; 2) it has been subject to substantial and continuing criticism; 3) it has not induced individual or social reliance that counsels against overturning it. The court ruled that all of these requirements have been met in Bowers; therefore they overturned Lawrence v. Texas. The court now claims that Planned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I do agree, though, that Bowers has societal reliance because of all the cases he cited that directly refer to the case as the basis of their decision. I wonder, though, if Bowers is, in fact, the only case that allows laws based on state morals. Scalia says that we are in a culture war between the homosexual activists and those who wish to criminalize homosexual behavior. The government says laws like Bowers discriminate against homosexuals and should not be in effect, therefore, according to Scalia, they are taking sides in this culture war. The court tells Americans that it is wrong to discriminate, but most states uphold laws that mandate and uphold such behavior (discharging persons in the military who engage in homosexual activity and Boy Scouts of America v. Dale.) Scalia says that many Americans do not want persons who openly engage in homosexual conduct as partners in their business, as schoolmasters for their children s schools, or as boarders in their home. Although the Blue Crab is well established within its ecosystem it is highly sensitive to environmental and habitat changes ( Blue Crab, Maryland State Crustacean , 2016). The detrimental conditions of the Chesapeake Bay have affected the populations of Blue Crabs along with over harvesting. Life Cycle The life cycle of a Blue Crab involves Zoeae, Megalops, Juveniles, and Adulthood (Zinski, 2006) ( Blue Crab Life Cycle, 2016). Mating occurs only once for female crabs. Female crabs undergo a pubertal mold which is indicative of a sexually mature state in their life cycle. During the pubertal molt females release pheromones which attract males. The actual ritual of mating does not occur until females molt their shells (Zinski, 2006). At which point females will then retreat to high salinity water to begin spawning. Spawning will occur for the first time 2 9 months after mating. Interestingly, males will protect females during the period which females have molted and it is at this point in which mating occurs (Hill, 2004). As previously mentioned Blue Crabs are highly susceptible to changes in environmental conditions. As an example, larvae require high salinity waters. Larvae require salinity of at least 20 ppt and below that threshold, there is poor likelihood of survival ability. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Bigotry And Social Oppression In The Early 20th Century Oppression is defined as prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control. Oppression comes in many forms: racial oppression, misogyny, class oppression, and many other forms. Social oppression, a concept that describes a relationship of dominance and subordination between categories of people, causes one group of people to benefit from the systematic abuse, exploitation, and injustice of another group of people. Bigotry is one of the main causes of social oppression. Failing to tolerate those who form different opinions causes people to commit cruel acts. Evidence of bigotry and social oppression can be seen through the acts that the Nazis committed in the early 20th century. Picasso s Guernica (1937) was created during a time when Nazis reigned. He created this piece, reflecting his opposition to their actions. Guernica addresses the darkness and brutality that the Nazis represented. This theme is discussed in works by both Nietzsche and Fanon. Through Fanon s examination of the superiority complex in Black Skin, White Masks and Nietzsche s discussion of Apolline culture, I ve discovered that there is always a party that designated themselves as the dominant culture, contributing to social oppression. Guernica (1937) was created to be part of the Spanish Pavilion at the International Exposition in Paris in 1937. This essay will analyze the reason for collapse of once powerful ancient empires by scrutinizing the rulers who led them. By looking at the circumstances of a fallen empire, a person can asses that the neglect of government officials, stressed with vast war expenses, who levy high taxes that lead to peasant uprisings, is the circular chain of events that will always eventually crumble a weak empire. And as specific as they may seem, these crises developed many a time. The circular chain of events almost always begins with a neglectful leader. But neglect can be defined in multiple ways. Emperor Han Huandi of Han China was neglectful in his style of governing. He increased the power of his court eunuchs, thus corrupting the system. Bribery was common. It s evident that no man wants to go into war, anyone could run from it like Tim O brien when he was drafted into the Vietnam War, but Lavender faced a terrifying scenario head on. A hero is selfless, brave, and determined. The act of fighting in the war automatically makes a hero all of the above; wartime hero s put their life on the line, they commit to their duties and they never know whether they ll come out of it alive. • 25. Feminist Poets Like Emily Dickinson And Anne Bradstreet The society always queries about the role of women and for centuries, they have struggled to find their place in a world that is predominantly male oriented. The treatment of women was remarkably negative; they were expected to stay home and fulfil the domestic duties. Literature of that time embodies and mirrors social issues of women in society (Lecture on the Puritans). But, slowly and gradually, situation being changed: During the first half of the 19th century, women s roles in society evolved in the areas of occupational, moral, and social reform. Through efforts such as factory movements, social reform, and women s rights, their aims were realized and foundations for further reform were established (Lauter 1406). Feminist poets like Emily Dickinson and Anne Bradstreet talked substantially about feminism in different lights in the past two centuries. They were very vocal and assertive about their rights and the rights for women in general. While they might have been successful at making a good attempt to obliterate gender biases but still there are lot of disparities between the two genders. Nevertheless, their poetry reflects a deep angst. Anne Bradstreet, an eighteen year old educated upper class English woman, arrived in Salem in 1630 (Cowell 418). Two hundred years after Bradstreet s arrival in America, in 1830, in a town about a hundred miles from Salem: Amherst, Emily Dickinson was born to a prominent local family that had established itself in the new ... The people of Israel fail short of keeping the covenant with God, and He sent His son as the final sacrifices for sin, then giving us his Holy Spirit to guide us. God is the creator of all; He is love, and He desires a relationship with His people. From God s creation of man to the idea of humanity in this world is revealed by God s living word. When God created man in His image, He revealed how important it is for us to be in a relationship with Him, and by placing Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden it shows that humanity is to live over the domain of earth, caring for and ruling over everything. By the fall of humanity from God, there has been a separation from the divine creator and His creation. Humans no longer are born pure in heart and mind but or born to the desires of the flesh. The measurements of the University is 240 feet long, 95 feet wide and 30 feet tall and broken down to two different floors. This University will be used for education purposes of course, the facility will be made of six instructional labs, seven offices, library, five classrooms, a student lobby and a computer lab. There will be a server room on each floor. The purpose of this paper is to explain the design of the networks in this building. The student accessed computers will be set up on a separate network than the network that they staff will be using. The entire building will share one internet access connection, which is a T 1 link from Verizon. A T1 link is one of the most common Internet access connections used by small businesses. T 1 Link is very fast, consistent and protected. It runs with a bandwidth speeds of 1.5Mb (WordPress.com). That speed is enough to achieve and complete essential business functions. Security is definitely a must and big concern that has to be taken into consideration when design networks, whether it is a business or a home network. Building a network in a university, we have to protect students and employee s data as well as any intellectual property that college has on the servers and computers. This defines Macbeth as a tragic hero throughout the play. A tragic hero is a literary character who makes a judgment error that inevitably leads to his/her own destruction. Not only does he fit the definition of a tragic hero, but he also exhibits many important characteristics that shape this description. These characteristics include being an individual of high noble birth and incorporating many admirable heroic qualities. In response to the first murderer telling Macbeth that Fleance had escaped the murder, Macbeth states, The young snake that escaped will in time become poisonous and threatening (3.4.32 33). This shows how Macbeth realized how he made an irreversible mistake as he knew that the witches predicted Banquo s sons to eventually become king. Therefore, Fleance could be a threat to his throne. Before this occurred, Macbeth also says, Then comes my fit again. I had else been perfect, Whole as the marble, founded as the rock, As broad and general as the casing air. But now I am cabined, cribbed, confined, bound in To saucy doubts and fears (3.4.23 27). This event proves how Macbeth is worried about his throne as confidence in safety and innocence collapses. Now that Fleance has escaped as well, Macbeth is put up with the greater threat of trying to find him again later on in order kill him. This allows Fleance to stay safe for a while, and become a larger threat to Macbeth as he is becoming more prepared and older for the throne if something were to happen to Macbeth. After he realizes that he had made an irreversible mistake, Macbeth then accepts responsibility for his own fate. Upon seeing the ghost of Banquo at his banquet, Macbeth says, You can t say I did it. Don t shake your bloody head at me (3.4.59 60). This highlights how Macbeth is unconsciously facing and accepting the responsibility for his own fate. Since Macbeth saw a ghost of his best friend that he killed, this shows how guilt is definitely on his mind, and how he must be ashamed of his actions. If Macbeth honestly didn t face and accept responsibility for his own fate, he would have disregarded the ghost altogether and probably would have went with the assumption of having too much wine when he first came in contact with the ghost. The overall community comes from meeting other Jewish teens from across the country. Weaknesses: The main weakness of the games is the Jewish requirement of most stakeholders. 3% of the US population is Jewish meaning that most athletes and host families are not eligible to participate ( Vital Statistics, 2016). Opportunities: The largest opportunities are creating ongoing revenue streams, energizing Tucson JCC staff, and creating a sense of community (T. Rockoff, Personal Communication, October 10, 2017). Ongoing revenue streams will come from the significant economic impact on Tucson whereas energizing staff and creating a sense of community will derive from the morale boost of successfully hosting the Games. • 32. Silko s Three-C Themes After a discussion in class, the professor and students acknowledged a concise meaning for the definition of theme. The literature class concluded that theme can be defined with three aspects. First, it can be used in the form of being implicit or insinuated. This means it is rarely acknowledged and masked by the author s words. Second, it can be used as explicit or instantly recognizable. For example, when Silko says that Teofilo is dead, he openly states it in the work. Lastly, the theme is the main idea that the author wants to impress upon the readers through actions of the characters and the setting. For instance, When Leon paints Teofilo s face he is sharing an action to the audience. However, there must be evidence for this trio of reasons. The audience will find them with the three C theme. The first factor in the theme would be change, which is used in the context of altering or converting. For example, in section 1 of the text, the author notes that the characters are still practicing pagan worship. Yet, in section 4, they go to the priest for Sprinkling of the Holy Water. The theme of change is an explicit action. It is implied that the Indians have not left the boundaries of their Gods to form a devout unity with the Evangelicals. Next, we can grasp the idea of continuity. This is another significant ingredient for the theme. Having a connection into eternalness is implied and explicit during Teofilo s burial and the hope that might bring rain. Last of the three factors is creativity. A people without a vision or dream will perish. The inspiring thought of Heaven the dream of the afterlife is imperative for the tribe s spiritual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Disengagement And Continuity Theory Analysis During the late 1900 s, many different psychosocial theories were used to define how human beings behave during the later years of life, but how well do these theories hold up today? In order to determine this, I asked my two grandmothers, Dana Russo (73) and Jane Steinthal (78), to answer a series of questions to determine if their retirement locations correlated with behaviors described in different theories of aging. While both sets of grandparents lived in New York at one point in time, Dana and her husband Richard permanently retired down to Fort Lauderdale, Florida a few years ago and both sets of grandparents go back and forth from each state once each year in order to unwind and visit family and friends. Jane is the definition of someone classified in the Activity and Social Construction theories, someone who benefits mentally from being their for others and getting involved with her community. However, what s fascinating is while Jane, a middle old elder, is the one exhibiting these attitudes toward life she, according to the theories, should be like Dana dealing with qualities of disengagement. Our central bank, along with the Clinton Administrations and many other major economists seem to believe that any kind of growth in the economy of over 2.5% will trigger inflation. That s why so many economists assumed that with the ever lowering unemployment rates of recent, there would be huge increases in wages and it would sharply inflate prices. This same assumption was made because of the Federal Reserve s actions in the past.
