the hospital, using TB or transcutaneous bilirubin and/or assessment of risk factors. Therefore, if the
TB is plotted on a nomogram prior to discharge, the PNP will have an idea about the infants risk for
developing hyperbilirubinemia at the initial newborn visit and can guide the need for laboratory
evaluation. If this is not available, the PNP should be aware of major risk factors for the development
of hyperbilirubinemia including jaundice present in the first 24 hours of life, blood group
incompatibility, gestational age of 35 36 weeks, sibling history of phototherapy, cephalohematoma or

I picked him up from school on Tuesday. I asked him how his day went, and I could see in his
demeanor that something was not right. I started to talk to him and information suddenly began to
pour out. He had been sent to the principal s office because he was spreading rumors about another
student. He told me that the other student started it by saying that he should have failed third grade
because he sucks at read. Adrian, being hurt by this, thought he could get back at him by saying that
he was stupid, a loser, and he has no friends. In my mind I was excited just because this was the
perfect opportunity to break out some Marcus and teach him about character. I asked him if he thought
he was right about spreading rumors to get back at this kid. Of course, his answer was no. I then began
to talk to Adrian about respect and forgiveness.
Explaining respect came easier to me than explaining forgiveness. I told him that respect is treating
others how you want to be treated and to value others as human beings because we are all worthy no
matter our age, gender, or any other differences one has. When I was explaining forgiveness to him I
tried to do so in a sense of him letting go of his negative feelings and pain. I told him that forgiveness
is understanding that there was a problem with his actions as well as the other kid s actions, realizing

My Monitoring Experience During These Classes
Today was a very fun day for me, but there was not a lot of teacher observation to do. This is because,
today Mrs. DeLorenzo was assessing each student individually and asked me to teach, while she was
outside of the classroom assessing one student at a time. During CAMPEL, I also had to step up and
help out the technology teacher as there was a technical problem with all the computers and she was
trying to fix them up, so class could run. Therefore, for the purpose of this journal, I will list my
monitoring experience during these classes. Mrs. DeLorenzo gave me her Community Booklet and
told me that each child had one. She asked me to do two or three pages with them while she was
outside of the classroom. First, I called the attention of the students and asked them to take out their
booklets. Each page had 2 activities, so I gave them instructions in what to do in the first activity.
They started working on it and I walked around the classroom observing their work and helping when
needed. However, all of the sudden I had students walking around the classroom, students trying to
talk to me about their field trip, students telling other students what to do, some students were talking
loudly about things that were not related to the work, and others were playing around with their

Billy Wilder s famous and well known film called Sunset Boulevard is a masterpiece for the ages.
Even though it is in black and white, don t think it isn t good. This film has so many twist and turns,
the audience doesn t know what s going to happen next (even though you know the Writer in the
movie is going to die because of the flash back). I thought the movie was interesting with the
beginning of the film when they start out with the dead man floating motionless in the pool as police
officers rush to the senses to understand what had happened to the dead movie writer. Also, later in the
film that really interested me that was never answered in the film was the funeral for the dead ape and
how it had anything to do with the plot of the movie.
