Situation My day was planned so I thought, I was scheduled to go out with my mentor, Francis. We

Stephanie and I were having our usual morning chat when we were approached by foster care worker,
Ms. Williams. She wanted me to supervise some parenting time, so she could attend court. I had
supervised parenting time before and I will admit it is not the most exciting thing to do. Parenting time
can last up to 4 hours requiring you to sit at the room door and monitor the parent s interactions with

Dancers by Dagmar Hrusova. In the article, Hrusova explains that dance can help develop social skills

of two different genres of dance; street and modern (ten of each) in his article. The purpose of this

The dominant theme of Silent Spring by Rachel Carson is the powerful and detrimental impact
humans have on the natural world. Carson s main argument is that pesticides have harmful effects on
the environment and lead to a loss of biodiversity and quality of life. Carson uses the pesticide DDT
throughout the book as she examines the effects of pesticides throughout the United States. Though
the majority of the book is focused on the effects of pesticides on our ecosystem processes, she also
touches on cases of pesticide poisoning, cancer, and other diseases caused by DDT and other

In the first few chapters she describes town where living things and the environment coexist in peace

Since it has such a long incubation period, this suggests that Salmonella typhimurium is able to avoid
detection by the host immune system early in the course of infection (Helene). The non host adapted
Salmonella cause very diverse typhoid like symptoms and is most common cause for foodborne
infections (Todar). Gastroenteritis is characterized by a sudden onset of fever, abdominal pain,
vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration. Diarrhea is a result of secretions of fluids by the small and large
intestines. These symptoms are caused by acute inflammatory responses given off by the bacteria
within the intestine (Giannella). In extreme cases S. typhimurium could affect respiratory, central
nervous or cardiovascular systems causing things like pneumonia and meningitis. The severity of
symptoms depends on the type, amount ingested, a person s age, and susceptibility to illnesses.
Elderly people and young children are the most vulnerable to symptoms of Salmonellosis. Symptoms
can begin to appear anywhere between six and forty eight hours and can last three days or even three
weeks.
Septicemia is another form of the manifestation of Salmonella in the body. This is known as the
intermediate stage of the infection and does not cause intestinal symptoms. Also, the bacteria are
unable to be eradicated from the fecal matter secreted by an infected host. The harshness of the

The Book vs The Movie The main difference between, The Last of the Mohicans, book by James
Fenimore Cooper and the last of the Mohicans movie, is that the book has a more adventurous theme
and the moive has a more romantic and love them. I felt that both stories were extremely interesting.
Due to the text s complexityz and the author s peculiar writing style, it took me quite a while to get
into the story, thus reducing my reading speed considerably. But, once I was one third into the book, I
started to really enjoy it and, as the narrative became more and more complex, I became aware of how
much the book and the movie differ.
I think that the most shocking difference between the book and the movie is the relationship between
Hawk eye, the scout, and Duncan, the major. If in Mann s movie there s hatred between La Longue
Carabine (aka Hawk eye) and Duncan Heyward, in Cooper s book their relationship is based on
respect and both are willing to give their lives in order to save the others.
