Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator
According to Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator, my personality type is INTJ (Introverted,
intuitive, thinker, judging). Some of the highlight light of an INTJ the that they are vision oriented,
quietly innovative, insightful, conceptual, logical. Seek to understand, critical decisive, independent,
determinate, pursues competence and improvement . After taking the test my score was the following
Introverted 12%, intuitive 22%, thinking 1% and judgment 25%.I think that the test was pretty close to
my personality because I do tend to be more on the introvert side although I can be very chatty when a
topic interested me.I like to think that anything is possible and try new things if that is a chance that
might work. I am also very independent;

Hymns to the Sun and Lieden’s Hymns Essay
Hymns to the Sun and Lieden s Hymns
The ancient Egyptians showed respect toward their rulers, but it was the sun gods whom they revered.
Even Pharaoh Akhenaten wrote hymns of praise and glory to his Creator. All aspects of the Egyptians
lives, including work, play, love and war, were devoted to the gods. No matter how much land was
won, or how many riches were acquired, it was the deities that were valued the most.
Many peoples throughout time devote prayer and sacrifices to the ones they believe created them. The
Egyptians were no exception, praising their gods for the awesomeness and purity of the life they
created: How various is the world you have created, / each thing mysterious, ... Show more content on

It was the sun that shone down upon lovers, worshippers, scholars and warriors. Sunlight brought life
to nature: to the trees, the flowers, and the grassy fields. Without the sun, the Egyptians would not
have been able to maintain the agriculture around which their society was centered. Everything
followed the sun, for when the sun retired at the end of the day; so did the rest of the world. Therefore,
it was only appropriate to give praise to the gods of light. Without them, the Egyptian culture would
not have existed.
Similar to the Roman Catholic religion existing today, the Egyptian Hymns follow the four basic
categories of prayer: gather, praise, thanksgiving, and petition. Akhenaten s hymn was written of
course by Pharaoh Akhenaten himself, and this in turn would bring together all people under his rule.
For when the ruler makes a decree, everyone listens. The hymns were written with tremendous praise
to the Creator, standing in awe of His power and glory: You are the one God, / shining forth from your
possible incarnations / as Aten, the Living Sun, / Revealed like a king in glory, risen in light, / now
distant, now bending

Friday Night Lights Movie Essay
My favorite movie is Friday Night Lights, Peter Berg is the director. It is based on a book written by
H.G. Bissingers with same title Friday Night Lights. The book was originally published in 1990. This
story is about the 1988 Permian Panthers High School football team in Odessa Texas. Bissingers
followed the team for the entire football season. The coaches and football players faced many
obstacles during that particular season. They endured racial tensions from the opposing teams and
opposing fans. The Panthers had to form a brotherhood and bond that no outsider could break.
This team was anticipating an undefeated season and to be crowned state champions that year. Their
hopes greatly diminished when their star running back Boobie Miles was injured during the first game
of the season. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

home and girlfriend issues. When they were on the field they had to let everything else go if they were

who they had on the field. They had to persevere and dig deep inside if they were going to win. They
needed to gain respect from the fans and community.
When Boobie was active there was a lot of trash talking amongst the players. When he realized he was
not able to play anymore that season, he cleaned out his locker and gave his teammates a pep talk.
This pep talk gave the active players the motivation they needed to push forward. He matured
tremendously and lifted their spirits and gave them a sense of pride to be the best players that they
could be. The third string running back stepped up his game and the team started to win. They had a
running and passing game that would make any fan proud. These players gave everything they had to

Essay on The History of Hitler and the Nazi Regime
The History of Hitler and the Nazi Regime
In the Second World War, a man named Adolph Hitler, the leader of the infamous Nazi regime, had a
plethora of things on his mind. From guarding the stricken land of Poland against Soviet advancement,
to making sure the western shores of the Atlantic Ocean in France were closely guarded, Hitler had
much to worry about. Unfortunately, it was during Hitler s reign when a most horrible atrocity took
place.
Adolph Hitler was born on April 20th, 1889 in a small hamlet named Braunau Am Inn, just across the
border from German Bavaria. Hitler s childhood was often riddled with abuse and physical beatings.
His family lived in a small farmhouse with 10 other people. Because of this, Adolph s older ... Show

In 1920, Hitler modified a common ancient symbol to form the swastika, or twisted cross, as a symbol
for his party. He then changed the name of the party to the National Socialist German Worker s Party,
or, in the shortened German form, the NAZI party (Keegan 65).
By 1921, the Nazi party had over 3000 members, mostly drawing in large numbers of ultra
conservatives from Munich. In late 1921, Hitler traveled to Berlin to try and find more members for
his party, but quickly returned, for the members of his party had signed a coup, which attempted to try
and overthrow Hitler. Offended, Hitler resigned his position, only to be asked to join again two weeks
later. He knew the party was nothing without him (Gilber 54).
Between 1921 and 1923, Germany had collapsed into financial ruin. Germany was presented with a 33
billion dollar bill, as reparations as a result of World War I. Inflation hit the roof, and the economy was
finished. It took 4 billion marks to buy a loaf of bread. Life savings were completely wiped out. As a
result, riots broke out. These riots incited extremist political groups into action, quickly bringing
Germany to the brink of chaos.
In 1923, the Nazi s had a party population of 55,000 members, far more than any extremist group
vying for power. Hitler, knowing this, devised a plan, in which the Nazi s would kidnap the leaders of
the Bavarian government, and hold them at gunpoint until they accepted Hitler as their leader. The
kidnapping was

Babysitter At Rest Psychology
The term male gaze coined by Laura Mulvey in her essay Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema,
draws attention to the role of females in films where women are objectified for the male spectator.
Objectification Theory by Barbara Fredrickson and Tomi Ann Roberts agree that sexual gazing is what
enables sexual objectification. Jean George The Babysitter at Rest, explores the consequences one
might encounter as a result of the male gaze. Through her relentless encounter with her lover and boss,
Tyler Burnett. However, Chris Kraus flips the narrative in I Love Dick as she returns the gaze by
becoming a stalker to a complete stranger. Kraus s technique fleshes out the fragility of the male ego
when the gaze is on them, which is used as a source of empowerment.

point, because I do believe the purpose of this creative portal is deeper and the Objectification Theory

this novel as it pushes the protagonist experience beyond a sociocultural analysis by providing an

Consider Mass Syndication Without A Lead
Consider mass syndication without a lead Syndicated investment refers to investing in projects, such
as start ups, which are considered too risky for a single investor or investment firms. Syndicated
investments are joint investment opportunities and a good option for business fundraising. While a
mass syndication can also happen with a lead investor in charge of the round, it is possible to opt for a
mass syndication without a lead. This means that you are essentially appealing for multiple investors
at any single time. With a mass syndication, your business will receive multiple, smaller investments
and won t often have to provide investors any say in the business direction and day to day running.
Therefore, mass syndication without a lead can be a great way to secure investment without losing
control of your business. Because investors still get to enjoy the same economic deal as more
conventional angle investors, investors are increasingly interested in this form of investing. The right
terms and valuation When it comes to mass syndication without a lead, there are two crucial points
you need to cover before you start knocking on the doors of investors. First, you must cover the terms
for fundraising clearly. You want to approach investors with a clear strategy and plan since you are
looking for multiple investors, you cannot start making up the terms as you go on. Define the term
sheet clearly and make sure it is the same for each investor. This will bring

Animal Farm Dystopian
A successful society is not a one man job , it takes time and organization. In the novel, Animal Farm,
written by George Orwell, is depicted as a dystopian society. A utopia is a perfect world, and a
dystopia is the complete opposite. In the novel, Napoleon builds a world that is not the worst it could
be, but for the animals, it is as bad as it could get. Animal Farm is not a utopian society because there
is always one animal that is more superior than another, in this case it s mainly Napoleon. This novel
represents a dystopian society by how Napoleon runs the farm. The animals lives have worsen because

were specific animals that were more of a leader than others, which made them more superior with

create a successful society. Each of the characteristics that portrayed with the novel, I believe played a
key role in making the novel come together as a whole. The characteristic of citizens are perceived to

they know what is going on. Citizens live in a dehumanized state explains how sometimes the animals

The Exodus Source Analysis Essay
The Exodus
In this source analysis paper I will be analyzing the Bible, specifically Exodus, to explore the Israelite
people during their time of wandering from Egypt to the Promised Land and why it took them so long
to reach their destination. It will also touch on Moses and his descendants and reason as to why he was
able to look at the land, but unable to go and live there.
To give a brief description, Exodus is a Greek word that translates to departure or going out. A large
chunk of Exodus as well as Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy follow the Israelites in their
departure from Egypt to the Promised Land under the leadership of Moses (Coogan and Redmount

Essay On Hawaii Volcanoes
Hawaii: Geology s Volcanic Wonder of the World It is well know that Hawaii is very volcanically
active and is home to the world s most active volcanoes. Hawaii is unique because the islands are
caused by a hot spot in the middle of the Pacific Plate, one of the largest crustal plates on earth. There
are only a few hot spots on earth and they occur in an area where the plate is thin and weak creating
volcanism, where molten magma ruptures the earth s crust. For Hawaii, the hot spot is under the sea
floor, it creates under sea volcanoes. Over millions of years these volcanoes build up to sea level and
become islands. As for Hawaii, the Pacific Plate has moved northwest across this hot spot creating
what we know today as the Hawaiian Islands in the South Pacific Ocean. In all, ... Show more content

Erupting steadily since March 2008, the summit crater, Halemaumau continues to send plumes of
sulfur dioxide and steam clouds. In the east rift zone of Kilauea is Pu u O o, a volcanic vent that is
considered active. You can safely access this area by helicopter because it is too far from roads to

Mauna Loa s last eruption was March 24 through April 15, 1984, and has been heavily monitored

What Is SDN Controller
The SDN layer essentially acts a virtual software switch or router in place of (or in conjunction with)
the physical network devices. Software from outside the devices takes over the job, instead of
software embedded in the routers and switches managing the traffic. The network layout, or
topography, is no longer rooted in the physical. Instead, it s flexible and adjustable to the systems
needs on the fly. SDN promises to solve both cost of labor performing manual maintenance and
administrative tasks in one single blow to the status quo. Traffic engineering problem for SDN
controller is to route the traffic in such a way that the delay and packet loss at link are minimized. In
existing scenario SDN controllers are deployed incrementally. In proposed system SDN controllers are
deployed in tree like structure such that lower level controller is controlled by upper level controller so
that all the network is controlled by single SDN controller centrally. Making possible to centralized

Comparing The Mercator And The Goode s Projection
Laura Hebert argues the maps have to distort reality because it is hard to represent our sphere planet
onto a flat surface like a map. This shows it s not possible to perfectly represent the Earth because the
Earth is a three dimensional object yet, maps show the Earth on a two dimensional surface.
List and describe some of the different types of map projections that the article describes, and what
each is meant to show the viewer.
There are four map projections in Article Two. There is the Mercator, the Peters, the Robinson, and the
Goode s Projections. First, The Mercator map changes the actual size of the land to create a straight
line between two points. It provides an efficient way for navigators to sail the seas. Second, the Peters
Projection shows a correct representation of the sizes of land mass. The shapes of the countries are out
of proportion since the top and bottom of the map is stretched horizontally and the middle of the map
is stretched vertically. Thus, attempting to replace the Mercator map by having a more accurate way of
showing how we see the Earth. Next, the Robinson Projection shows how it achieves accuracy in
shape, area, distance, and direction but, it isn t absolutely correct in a certain category. Lastly, the
Goode s Projection is similar to the Robinson Projection since, the map maker tried to include
accuracy in all four domains but, it is not totally correct in every single domain. ... Show more content

perfectly represents Earth in size, shape, direction, and distance.

Sunset Boulevard Essay
A fragment of life in Hollywood is being spread over the screen of the Music Hall in Sunset
Boulevard. Utilizing as the premise of their forthcoming, burning dramatization a shameful
circumstance including a blurred, maturing quiet screen star and a destitute, pessimistic youthful
scriptwriter, Charles Brackett and Billy Wilder (with an aid from D. M. Marshman, Jr.) have
composed an effective story of the aspirations and disappointments that join to make life in the
cardboard city so entrancing to the outside world.
Sunset Boulevard is in no way, shape or form an adjusted story of Hollywood, past or present. Be that
as it may it is such a cunning compound of truth and legend and is so lavishly fragrant of the past, yet
so contemporaneous that it apparently talks with extraordinary power. Sunset Boulevard is that

The urogenital tract which is also known as the genitourinary system involves organs that are used for
sexual reproduction and the formation and secretion of urine both in men and woman. The urinary

How To Increase Oil Prices In America
We the American people have seen rising oil and gasoline prices continuously over the last few
decades. Each year is slightly higher than the last. However, we have seen a few instances where oil
and gasoline prices have spiked rapidly enough to invoke the American public to stop spending or cut
back. The first time in recent history was after the hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005. Then, in July
2008 we saw a massive jump to the current record high national average of $4.50 per gallon of
gasoline. Oil at this time was over $115 per barrel of light sweet crude which is the oil that American s
use in their gasoline. Currently the US oil and gasoline prices continue to increase. In the last month
gasoline alone has risen almost 17 cents a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, if the reason for the panic in oil prices is Libya then there really isn t one. Considering that most
of Libya s export goes to Europe and it s also in the form of Bent crude oil which American doesn t
even use. In comparison Egypt and Tunisia during their revolutions didn t loose any oil exports. So
again even as a whole the conflict in the Middle East isn t a valid reason for this jump in oil prices.
These events can have an effect on oil prices. However the evidence only points to a partial effect, not
as much as some people would have you believe. The next most common used cause for the increase
of oil prices is the explanation of supply and demand. Currently the world uses 85 million barrels a
day, and currently the supply per day is only 80 million barrels (source). To reflect, the current market
price of oil is roughly $105 per barrel. For those that say supply and demand is the main reason why I
have a question. Why if the difference is 5 million barrels per day is the price per barrel of oil only
$105? When in 2008 the difference between supply and demand was only 1 million barrels. At this
time the price of oil was greater than $120 per barrel and gasoline was closing in on $5 per gallon.
Although regardless of the amounts the markets drive the price supply and demand does have its
place. We are using more and more oil and gasoline and that will eventually drive the

Dealing with the Death of a Family Member
The death of a family member can greatly affect the family system as it creates a void that is difficult
to adjust to. The family experiences a terrible sense of loss, as well as a fear that they have to carry on
with their lives without their loved one (Rotter, 2000). They have a hard time picturing there knew life
and moving on without them. With the family system changing it may destroy the relationships that
already exists in the family (Bowlby West, 1983). After the death of a family member the most
difficult time for the family would be the anniversaries. These anniversaries include the anniversary of
the day that the family member died, their birthday as well as special holidays. These dates are
stressful for the family and will be a reminder of the death (Bowlby West, 1983). The grief process
that the family system will go through after the death of a family member may last a long time,
especially as they go through the different anniversary s. Non normative events, such as a child s death
by suicide, and accidental death may also make the grief process more difficult (Rotter, 2000).
According to Bowlby (1979) and Parkes (1972) there are four stages of grief that people will go
through during the grief period after the death of a family member (Bowlby West, 1983). The first
phase is a phase of numbness that lasts from a few hours to a week. They may experience anger and
distress as well. They would find it difficult to cope with tasks because they are preoccupied

lack of experience or under the influence of alcohol, death has become all too common among teen

Any way you look at it, 16 year old drivers represent a growing problem, adds Allen Williams, senior
vice president of the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (CNN). Accidents that involve 16 year old
drivers are not like those involving older drivers. For one thing, 16 year old get in trouble trying to
handle unusual driving situations, even small emergencies. More often than when older people drive,
such situation turn into disasters. Eighty two percent of all 16 year old drivers in fatal crashes during
1996 made at least one driving error that contributed to the crash. This compares with 68 percent of
drivers 17 19 years old and 52 percent of drivers 25 49 years old (CNN).
Training and educating programs can help teens learn driving skills, but these programs do not
produce safer drivers. The only thing that s taught in driver education is how to drive legally and not
responsibly. It s often not poor skills that cause the crashes in the first place. Its teenagers attitudes. A
vast majority of teens are thrill seekers, thinking they are bullet proof and invincible. Thus the
potential for death and destruction is great (Grant14). Teens naturally tend to rebel against adult
standards and regulations. Peer pressure influences teenagers much more than advice given by an

The Mousetrap Car Project
When we began the project, The MouseTrap Car project, we originally split up the workload between
our idealistic engineer, Justin Phan, and our mechanical builder, Beckett Wanamaker. Our engineer
was in charge of designing each of the potential sketches and our sketches include three designs.
Design 1, the bike, was a mousetrap car based off of the engineering design of a bicycle. The bike
would have two main wheels, one in the front and one in the back. The design would also consist of
two more smaller wheels, one wheel attached on each side of the car similar to training wheels . This
model was designed to be the safest of the three and was going to give our group a safe way of
building a car that might not be the prize winning design but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Our consult was from Anthony DeGenova and he was able to give us the best design, his design, for
the project. After evaluating all of the potential designs from Valerie Nguyen, Christopher Martinez
and Anthony DeGenova, we decided to go with Anthony DeGenova s simple design. This design is a
simple aluminum 10 inch rod that extrudes from a CD on one end and another CD on the other end.
Each CD is approximately 1 inch in from the end of the rod. The rod is hollowed out to provide
minimum weight which allows for the mousetrap to give more power to the mechanism. This design
allowed for a quick build that gives the best results according to the previous engineers that did this
project last year. I completely defend this idea because it allowed for our group members Beckett
Wanamaker and Justin Phan to efficiently and quickly build a model that represents a better version of
DeGenova s model. Our model is more efficient than DeGenova s because it uses less glue and tape to
allow for a smaller and lighter model and an aluminum rod which allows for the maximum weight to
be barely under 4

Effects Of The Criminalization Of Alcohol On America...
Introduction
This essay aims to show that if alcohol is legal, cannabis should be also. To do so I will compare the
effects both substances have on the health of their users. I will then examine how much scientific
evidence has been used when criminalizing marijuana and whether that evidence is still applicable
today. Finally, I will analyze the effects of the criminalization of alcohol in America during the 1920s.
I will use this case to show that the misguided prohibition of alcohol is comparable to the current
marijuana laws. Though the situation was in a different social setting (and I will go over that as well),
I will endeavor to show that, in the same was as it was in 1933, legalization not only provides a
healthier lifestyle for users, but also breaks down the criminal organizations that profit from it.
Existing Laws in the UK
The current drug laws that are in effect in the UK are those set forth in the Drugs Misuse Act of 1971.
The act separates illegal drugs into A, B and C classes; A being the most harmful drugs and therefore
the most heavily penalised, and C being the least. Marijuana is currently qualified as a class C drug,
after it was advised by Proffesor Sir Michael Rawlins, Chairman of the Advisory Council on the
Misuse of Drugs, to be reduced from class B in 2002. The report contained a re examination of the
health and social risks of the drug, and within the cover letter states The council believes that the
current classification of cannabis is

How to Make- Cupcakes
Cakes are often connected with fun, happiness, excitement and celebration. Cakes have been a part of
many traditions all over the world synchronizing festivities. A variety of styles and themes are used in
association to cakes, depending on the particular celebration, there are many different occasions such
as birthdays, Mother s day, Father s day, 4Th of July festivities, baby showers and weddings. Cakes
are decorated with flowers, flags and cartoon characters to place cakes. An assortment of flavors such
as vanilla the most easiest to please, carrots cakes, fruit lemon cakes, marble cakes, chocolate cakes;
there are whimsical cakes, small cakes, large cakes, individual cakes called cake pops, and my
favorite, Gourmet cupcakes. Cupcakes have been more frequently used these days. They are easily
consumed with less of a mess to clean later. Cupcakes are affordable, east to make and deemed
efficient in terms of price to quantity of people attending the celebration. They are typically decorated
or frosted with sugar icing, fondant, and butter cream. With busy lifestyle both me and my children,
the box mix is easiest and quickest.
The first and most important step is to select the flavor of cake in consideration of the individual you
are baking for. Is it a family? A friend? Co worker? Do they have allergies to any specific flavoring?
Once you decide, you must select a cake box mix and acquire a tub of premade frosting from the
grocery store. (I picked a yellow cake mix box

Effectiveness of In School Programs and After School programs
A Review of the Literature

Abstract
In recent years, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) noticed the
increase in the number of teens between the ages of nine to seventeen being involved with gangs in
the United States. While most people would agree that gang membership is an individual choice,
scholars believe that it is more important to shift the focus of these programs from an individual level
to a community level. This literature review examines a few of the prevention programs the OJJDP
have implemented in the school s curriculum and after school ... Show more content on

The program is only effective so long as the teenager allows it to be. In other words, growing up in an
undeveloped community and a poor family could be contributing factors towards pushing adolescent
teens towards violence, drugs, and gangs. However, it is likely that if the teen is able to shift their
focus towards the positive aspects in their life, they can overcome the difficulties. I say this because
my cousin was raised in a good household, yet he chose to be involved with the wrong crowd even
after his parents raised him in a good neighborhood, with a good education, and participated in many
extracurricular activities. After sending him off to boot camp to try and straighten him up, he still
returned to his gang in which he calls his second family. Therefore, I feel biased towards the
effectiveness of these programs. However, I will remain objective in researching this topic. I will look
into all contributing factors and all of the preventive techniques in assessing the problem. I will also
compare both programs and analyze the two programs in depth. I will look into all the factors and
theories contributing to why teens would join gangs. Also I will evaluate the effectiveness of the
program based on my research and not my personal experience.
IMPORTANCE OF PREVENTION PROGRAMS AND THE LITERATURE REVIEW With the
increase in the number of teenagers being involved with gang violence and memberships, scholars

The Controversy On Whether Sweatshops Should Be Banned
INTRODUCTION
Sweatshops have been a popular and serviceable business, although there are a lot of controversy on
whether sweatshops should be banned and hows pay wages should be higher. Many people believe
that sweatshops are unfair, cruel and unlawful, whereas others think that sweatshops are a second
chance for many people living in developing countries. The dictionary definition of a sweatshop is
factory or workshop, especially in the clothing industry, where manual workers are employed at very
low wages for long hours and under poor conditions, it is defined by the US Department of Labor as a
factory that violates 2 or more labor laws. Sweatshops are a frequent ordeal in many countries, all over
the globe, with a variety of perspectives.

These changes later spread across the world, and together they became known as the Industrial
Revolution. By the 1850s, there were factories in many parts of Britain and around the world, and
large, busy towns were developing around them. Although the factory owners were growing rich and
lived in grand houses, the workers were paid very little and were extremely poor. They lived in dirty,
crowded parts of town, known as the slums. This was the beginning of sweatshop history, With factory
towns sprouting all over countries , many farm families left their land in order to make money in the
new cities. The factory workers lived in the slums; they shared cramped living quarters with many
other families in dirty and disease infested communities. Many of the conditions just described seem
to match with the well known ways of sweatshops now. This proves how little sweatshops have
developed. Many people would agree that this a sinking point in the developing countries, but others
would say that if the factories had improved more people would be poor, and in

The Namesake By Jhumpa Lahiri Cultural Identity
Cultural Identity is the framework that shapes who one is, as a person. It helps one to sustain self
identity and belonging anywhere in society. Although it might be transformed over time, it is the way
people undergo adversity. This sense of cultural identity is portrayed through the character, Ashima
Ganguli, who was ordained to reshape her identity when she migrated to America with her husband,
Ashoke. This move to America specifically Boston, allowed Ashima to be faced with tribulations
within herself. Ashima is characterized as a hesitant migrant who did not understand how to deal with
her situation (Lahiri Roy). Throughout the text of The Namesake, Jhumpa Lahiri develops the

this study, we tested the hypothesis that pre treatment with quetiapine protects the brain from OLG

Materials and methods
Male CD1 mice (18 20 g, Charles River, St. Constant, QC, Canada) received either quetiapine (10

previously described (Yan et al.2007b), which generated four treatment groups: Sham (sham + saline),
QTP (sham + quetiapine), GCI (GCI + saline), and G + Q (GCI + quetiapine). Briefly, mice were
anesthetized with ketamine (110 mg/kg) and xylazine (15 mg/kg). Both common carotid arteries were
exposed and occluded with cotton thread for 60 min, after which the thread was removed to allow
reperfusion. The sham group underwent the same procedure without arterial occlusion. Animals

Honduras In The Late 19th Century
In the early 19th century, Latin American countries broke free from the shackles of European colonists
and started independence movements to form their own nations. At first the idea of freedom to start
their own countries politics, free trade and all was enticing. But, Latin Americans soon learned that the
Western European countries and the United States tried to take advantage of them financially at any
opportunity that arose. Newly independent countries like Mexico, Venezuela, and Honduras tried to
get themselves on the map and raise their wealth through exporting the natural resources found in their
countries. While they tried to emulate the United States and Western Europe, liberals like Sarmiento

with improving the quality of life for all of its citizens. However, Honduras had a history of
unsuccessful ventures (Silver mining, cattle, indigo) and investors had to be cajoled with promises of
profits to invest their capital in Honduran exports. They were even given massive discounts on land.
Honduran government officials believed that with the sudden demand for bananas local businesses
would profit along with the foreign American investors. They were wrong in that assumption. Big
banana businesses like United Fruit Company would buy out all of the local growers and form
conglomerates due to the lack of regulations on land ownership. Some positives came out of the
monocrop economy. Jobs were created, public health was funded by non governmental figures, and
plumbing was built. But, Honduras was ultimately unsuccessful in emulating the United States or
Western Europe. They continued their dictatorial ways with General Tiburcio Carías Andino, the
banana dictator, ruling for sixteen plus years. Also, in 1975 United Fruit Co. was found guilty of
corruption for bribing the Honduran government. The dastardly ways of colonial times continued into

to be stories. Next along with the mysteries of the Ramayana, another important factor is the person
who wrote it. Valmiki is given credit as the original author of the Ramayana, and he actually appears

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Being A Teenager
There are good things about being both an adult and a teenager however there are also some
disadvantages. Adults and teenagers probably both wish they could switch places at times but we have
to learn to live with ourselves and see that there is a good side and bad side to both situations. Now I
am going to explain the advantages and disadvantages of both and try to give you are perspective from
both sides of it. For example, what makes life unique at this age and what are some problems you will
face as an adult or teen. Being an adult has many advantages and disadvantages about it but you learn
to make it work. One good reason for being an adult is you have more freedom to make your own
desecions. No one is holding you back or telling you what to do and when to do it. Another good
reason for being an adult is you can purchase what you drive, where u live and everything else about
your life. You can also make yourself unique, you don t have to act a certain way to impress someone
you can just be yourself. There are sadly some downsides to being an adult as well. For example, you
have to start paying for everything a house, a car, phone bill, electric bill etc. I mean there are
countless fees you have to pay to be an adult. When you were a teen all you had to do was buy things
you wanted and that was it ,but as an adult everything you buy you now have to pay for. Also when

Essay About Prison Reform
Few states had life without parole (LWOP) statutes before the 1970s, when there was an emphasis on
rehabilitation in criminal punishment and most states used indeterminate sentencing. Judges, prison
authorities, and parole boards had broad discretion in sentencing and release decisions. Life sentences
were parole eligible and either mandatory without a fixed minimum imprisonment term or
indeterminate with a fixed minimum imprisonment term. Louisiana, as an example, had the 10 6 law
(R.S. 15:571.7) from 1926 to 1979 that authorized the warden of a prison and the governor to

His claim that nothing works in the rehabilitation of offenders was widely accepted, as many argued
that criminal justice officials could not demonstrate offenders rehabilitation and were biased and too
lenient in the tough on crime movement (Mackenzie, 2001). In Schick v. Reed, the Court upheld a
conditional commutation granted by President Eisenhower (1974). Although the decision discussed
executive clemency, it indirectly supported life without parole statutes to come. The Supreme Court
reinstated death penalty statutes in Gregg v. Georgia on the condition that they provided for sentencing
guidelines, bifurcated trials, automatic appellate review, and proportionality review (1976). Later that

  • 3. Hymns to the Sun and Lieden’s Hymns Essay Hymns to the Sun and Lieden s Hymns The ancient Egyptians showed respect toward their rulers, but it was the sun gods whom they revered. Even Pharaoh Akhenaten wrote hymns of praise and glory to his Creator. All aspects of the Egyptians lives, including work, play, love and war, were devoted to the gods. No matter how much land was won, or how many riches were acquired, it was the deities that were valued the most. Many peoples throughout time devote prayer and sacrifices to the ones they believe created them. The Egyptians were no exception, praising their gods for the awesomeness and purity of the life they created: How various is the world you have created, / each thing mysterious, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was the sun that shone down upon lovers, worshippers, scholars and warriors. Sunlight brought life to nature: to the trees, the flowers, and the grassy fields. Without the sun, the Egyptians would not have been able to maintain the agriculture around which their society was centered. Everything followed the sun, for when the sun retired at the end of the day; so did the rest of the world. Therefore, it was only appropriate to give praise to the gods of light. Without them, the Egyptian culture would not have existed. Similar to the Roman Catholic religion existing today, the Egyptian Hymns follow the four basic categories of prayer: gather, praise, thanksgiving, and petition. Akhenaten s hymn was written of course by Pharaoh Akhenaten himself, and this in turn would bring together all people under his rule. For when the ruler makes a decree, everyone listens. The hymns were written with tremendous praise to the Creator, standing in awe of His power and glory: You are the one God, / shining forth from your possible incarnations / as Aten, the Living Sun, / Revealed like a king in glory, risen in light, / now distant, now bending ... The coaches and football players faced many obstacles during that particular season. They endured racial tensions from the opposing teams and opposing fans. When they were on the field they had to let everything else go if they were going to win. They had to live up to the expectations in playing good football and winning a title with who they had on the field. They had to persevere and dig deep inside if they were going to win. They needed to gain respect from the fans and community. When Boobie was active there was a lot of trash talking amongst the players. When he realized he was not able to play anymore that season, he cleaned out his locker and gave his teammates a pep talk. This pep talk gave the active players the motivation they needed to push forward. He matured tremendously and lifted their spirits and gave them a sense of pride to be the best players that they could be. The third string running back stepped up his game and the team started to win. They had a running and passing game that would make any fan proud. Essay on The History of Hitler and the Nazi Regime The History of Hitler and the Nazi Regime In the Second World War, a man named Adolph Hitler, the leader of the infamous Nazi regime, had a plethora of things on his mind. Unfortunately, it was during Hitler s reign when a most horrible atrocity took place. Adolph Hitler was born on April 20th, 1889 in a small hamlet named Braunau Am Inn, just across the border from German Bavaria. Hitler s childhood was often riddled with abuse and physical beatings. He then changed the name of the party to the National Socialist German Worker s Party, or, in the shortened German form, the NAZI party (Keegan 65). By 1921, the Nazi party had over 3000 members, mostly drawing in large numbers of ultra conservatives from Munich. In late 1921, Hitler traveled to Berlin to try and find more members for his party, but quickly returned, for the members of his party had signed a coup, which attempted to try and overthrow Hitler. Offended, Hitler resigned his position, only to be asked to join again two weeks later. He knew the party was nothing without him (Gilber 54). Between 1921 and 1923, Germany had collapsed into financial ruin. Germany was presented with a 33 billion dollar bill, as reparations as a result of World War I. Inflation hit the roof, and the economy was finished. It took 4 billion marks to buy a loaf of bread. Life savings were completely wiped out. As a result, riots broke out. These riots incited extremist political groups into action, quickly bringing Germany to the brink of chaos. In 1923, the Nazi s had a party population of 55,000 members, far more than any extremist group vying for power. Consider Mass Syndication Without A Lead Consider mass syndication without a lead Syndicated investment refers to investing in projects, such as start ups, which are considered too risky for a single investor or investment firms. Syndicated investments are joint investment opportunities and a good option for business fundraising. While a mass syndication can also happen with a lead investor in charge of the round, it is possible to opt for a mass syndication without a lead. This means that you are essentially appealing for multiple investors at any single time. With a mass syndication, your business will receive multiple, smaller investments and won t often have to provide investors any say in the business direction and day to day running. Therefore, mass syndication without a lead can be a great way to secure investment without losing control of your business. Because investors still get to enjoy the same economic deal as more conventional angle investors, investors are increasingly interested in this form of investing. The right terms and valuation When it comes to mass syndication without a lead, there are two crucial points you need to cover before you start knocking on the doors of investors. First, you must cover the terms for fundraising clearly. You want to approach investors with a clear strategy and plan since you are looking for multiple investors, you cannot start making up the terms as you go on. Define the term sheet clearly and make sure it is the same for each investor. This will bring ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are only a few hot spots on earth and they occur in an area where the plate is thin and weak creating volcanism, where molten magma ruptures the earth s crust. For Hawaii, the hot spot is under the sea floor, it creates under sea volcanoes. Over millions of years these volcanoes build up to sea level and become islands. This shows it s not possible to perfectly represent the Earth because the Earth is a three dimensional object yet, maps show the Earth on a two dimensional surface. List and describe some of the different types of map projections that the article describes, and what each is meant to show the viewer. There are four map projections in Article Two. There is the Mercator, the Peters, the Robinson, and the Goode s Projections. First, The Mercator map changes the actual size of the land to create a straight line between two points. It provides an efficient way for navigators to sail the seas. Second, the Peters Projection shows a correct representation of the sizes of land mass. The shapes of the countries are out of proportion since the top and bottom of the map is stretched horizontally and the middle of the map is stretched vertically. Thus, attempting to replace the Mercator map by having a more accurate way of showing how we see the Earth. Next, the Robinson Projection shows how it achieves accuracy in shape, area, distance, and direction but, it isn t absolutely correct in a certain category. The family experiences a terrible sense of loss, as well as a fear that they have to carry on with their lives without their loved one (Rotter, 2000). They have a hard time picturing there knew life and moving on without them. With the family system changing it may destroy the relationships that already exists in the family (Bowlby West, 1983). After the death of a family member the most difficult time for the family would be the anniversaries. These anniversaries include the anniversary of the day that the family member died, their birthday as well as special holidays. These dates are stressful for the family and will be a reminder of the death (Bowlby West, 1983). The grief process that the family system will go through after the death of a family member may last a long time, especially as they go through the different anniversary s. Non normative events, such as a child s death by suicide, and accidental death may also make the grief process more difficult (Rotter, 2000). More often than when older people drive, such situation turn into disasters. Eighty two percent of all 16 year old drivers in fatal crashes during 1996 made at least one driving error that contributed to the crash. To do so I will compare the effects both substances have on the health of their users. I will then examine how much scientific evidence has been used when criminalizing marijuana and whether that evidence is still applicable today. Finally, I will analyze the effects of the criminalization of alcohol in America during the 1920s. I will use this case to show that the misguided prohibition of alcohol is comparable to the current marijuana laws. Though the situation was in a different social setting (and I will go over that as well), I will endeavor to show that, in the same was as it was in 1933, legalization not only provides a healthier lifestyle for users, but also breaks down the criminal organizations that profit from it. These changes later spread across the world, and together they became known as the Industrial Revolution. By the 1850s, there were factories in many parts of Britain and around the world, and large, busy towns were developing around them. Although the factory owners were growing rich and lived in grand houses, the workers were paid very little and were extremely poor. They lived in dirty, crowded parts of town, known as the slums. This was the beginning of sweatshop history, With factory towns sprouting all over countries , many farm families left their land in order to make money in the new cities. The factory workers lived in the slums; they shared cramped living quarters with many other families in dirty and disease infested communities. Many of the conditions just described seem to match with the well known ways of sweatshops now. This proves how little sweatshops have developed. Many people would agree that this a sinking point in the developing countries, but others would say that if the factories had improved more people would be poor, and in ... It helps one to sustain self identity and belonging anywhere in society. Although it might be transformed over time, it is the way people undergo adversity. This sense of cultural identity is portrayed through the character, Ashima Ganguli, who was ordained to reshape her identity when she migrated to America with her husband, Ashoke. This move to America specifically Boston, allowed Ashima to be faced with tribulations within herself. Ashima is characterized as a hesitant migrant who did not understand how to deal with her situation (Lahiri Roy). The anti psychotic quetiapine has been shown to enhance the therapeutic effects of anti depressants on vascular depression, but the mechanism remains unknown. In this study, we found that 2 weeks of treatment with quetiapine prior to bilateral carotid artery occlusion and reperfusion, in an animal model of vascular depression, resulted in reduced myelin breakdown and oligodendrocyte loss compared to placebo treated mice on post operative day (POD) 7. On day 15, the mice were assigned to a sham or a BCCAO surgery to induce GCI as previously described (Yan et al.2007b), which generated four treatment groups: Sham (sham + saline), QTP (sham + quetiapine), GCI (GCI + saline), and G + Q (GCI + quetiapine). Briefly, mice were anesthetized with ketamine (110 mg/kg) and xylazine (15 mg/kg). Although the decision discussed executive clemency, it indirectly supported life without parole statutes to come. The Supreme Court reinstated death penalty statutes in Gregg v.
