The Importance Of Communication In The Military
Response to rebuttal number two.
It is evident Chris is attempting to make this personal, I will not join him in this fight, I am only
stating the facts and think it s silly to have to keep going back on forth on what is now frivolous,
however I will defend myself against these and any personal attacks.
My visa process had nothing to do with Chris s evaluation, my R R and his evaluation occurred in the
same time frame, however I had been watching.
Again, I m in the BDOC every day, I pull up a chair and sit with the operator for hours; however, my
presence doesn t always require me to interact with the customer (referring to the lower enlisted

If another person has mail, and someone is already at the mailroom, we get there mail and take it back
to the BDOC, I have gotten the team mail, countless number of times, and they had done the same, we
were simply helping each other out. As far as water is concerned, I went to the BDOC to get the gator,
to get my own water. The water I wanted was on the other side of the fob, but Chris had the gator. So
the operator on shift asked me where the water was and asked Chris to get the water since he already
had the gator and would be on the side where the water was located.
There have never been any issue cover ups, I honestly have no idea what he is talking about, I can
only assume Chris is referring to the no warns that took place. Yes, we were vague with the unit, first

The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock By T. S.
The realistic narrative of The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock as told by T. S. Eliot invited readers
into the mind of an old man as he struggled against the social norm created by the new youth. As the
eternal footman (Eliot 720) approached the aging, but relatable man, Prufrock began to question the
world around him that was changed by the youth, but he failed to change with society, creating the
mental prison he cannot escape. Since The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock had modernism in mind
Prufrock was a character that anyone should be able to connect with even if the reader is younger than
Prufrock. For example, has the story progressed Prufrock asked questions such as What is it? (Eliot
718), Do I dare? (Eliot 719), and How ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He never explicitly explained his past because if Eliot had him talk about his specific past, then he
would become less relatable to the reader, but the reader can take hints of Prufrock s/their age as they
say in pretend dialogue with a woman, How his hair is growing thin! and But how his arms and legs
are thin! and with a bald spot in the middle of my hair (Eliot 719) giving us the idea that he was aging
but still young enough to not be married and still looking for love. Most important however was how
Prufrock/the reader debate on whether he should part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach? I shall
wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach (Eliot 721). Prufrock/the reader were trying to
decide whether he should accept his old age and give in to the new society or if he should disturb the
universe (Eliot 719) and fight against the new society and live the way he wants to and not the life
society had given him. It was this struggle that created the story, but the item that separated it from the
reader was that Prufrock s decision was given the definitive answer that he was forced to give into
society s demands because he [does] not think that they will sing to [him] (Eliot 722). Prufrock
struggled and fought against society, but lost to its social norms.
T. S. Eliot s poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock told the story of a man struggling against
society. However, he was more than a man because Prufrock was actually a reflection of the reader
and the life that they faced or the life that they will face in the future. Prufrock/the reader asked many
questions, but only the reader can decide whether they will succeed in denying social norms unlike

Another option offered by Minnesota high schools is a post secondary enrollment option. This option
is comprised of two programs offered to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors: the Post

administered by the Minnesota Department of Education and offer high school students to enroll in
college courses while still attending high school. The PSEO program allows the students to attend a
local college or university that has been approved to be offered to high school students. The College in

comparison the number of students participating in the AP course program. However, among
concurrent and post secondary enrollment options the number of low income students rose 40% from
the previous school year, while white student participation percentages remains stagnant (
Postsecondary enrollment options, 2012). This is a state funded program, with affiliated state colleges
and universities from which the college credit is earned, which is very beneficial for those who do not
have the financial support to attend college. Other benefits to these programs are they allow students
to complete a trial run of college classes to determine if this is part of their career path without
exhausting personal finances. These courses also give students exposure to the high academic
expectations associated with college level work, allow them to find new challenges, and give them
momentum to pursue a college degree by awarding them college credits before they graduate high
school.

Legend Of The Ghost Dog Analysis
The novel Legend of the Ghost Dog , written by Elizabeth Cody Kimmel, is a thriller and mystery tale
about a young girl named Anita (although is known as Tee throughout the book), on an expedition she
attended to a small cabin located in the Alaska wilderness, in the town of Nome, with her father and
her younger brother Jack, and another young girl that she befriended named Quin. This adventure
starts from not Tee s perspective, but from an older woman named Dodie about her childhood raising
Siberian Huskies with her family, these chapters would consistently reoccur in the novel. The legend
began as just a silly yet spine tingling fable of a dark looming creature known as the Shadow that lived
deep in the Alaskan woods near a creek referred to as Dorothy Creek, where just so happen Tee, her
little brother and her father were residing near, however escalated to a conundrum about the Shadow
that turned out to just be a dog, a jet black Husky with pale blue eyes with a strong broad body,
discovered by the two young girls after taking Tee s beagle on a walk in the snow. While Tee s and
Jack s Mother was in Japan for two weeks during their spring break for law work, the siblings went
with their dad, a writer, who was on the hunt for a story about how the relationship between dogs and
man have become less and less throughout the years because of snowmobiles, there for people were

Differences In The Outsiders Movie And Novel
The Outsiders movie and novel are both great. After finishing both I found out they are very similar ,
but they also have some differences. The movie and novel both share similarities that are very alike.
For example , both have the same characters , the church burns down , and the greasers and Socs both
hate each other. They might have these major similarities ,but they have a lot of very minor
differences. In The Outsiders there are a lot of similarities . For example , the church that Ponyboy and
Johnny stayed in burnt down . The story takes place in Tulsa Oklahoma . They might be similar , but
they have some differences as well . A major difference is that in the book the greasers live on the East

Big Brother Is The Ultimate Power Holder And The Party
Everyone wants power over something but, there was one government in 1984 that had power over
everything. Big Brother is the ultimate power holder and the Party is his face. There were numerous of
ways on how the Party had control over its citizens. For instance, they had control over the
information and history, control over the citizen lives, and families. Power played a big role in the
society of 1984. The Party controlled every source of information in 1984. They managed and rewrote
the content of all newspapers and histories for their own sake. The Party didn t want the citizens to
have pictures or even documents from their past. As a result, this caused memories to be uncertain,
and the citizens were willing to believe whatever the Party

3. Assumed because they were not agreeing with him they were not committed to the new product.
4. Assumed that the job could be done by outside contractors in the specified time frame. Also with
money being a problem.
5. Assumed a meeting would resolve all problems.
6. Assumed the customer would be happy with whatever product was developed and launched.
7. Assumed Kelly was being a smart ass because he questioned his knowledge about QC.
Pat argued that the scanner needed to be launched in retail, not banks or other easy markets. He also
argued with Chris, Kelly s manager, that Kelly informed him that it would not be a problem to expand
the iScanner. Another argument he made is he had bigger problems than to listen to than answering
other questions presented by other staff members. Pats decision to launch a new product in a new
market was sound. To be the first company on the market with a new product to get ahead of your
competitors is a good market strategy. His idea to use an outside contractor was unsound because we
are already in a budget deficit and there is now guarantee that the contractor would have the product
completed in time. His statement about having bigger problems than to answer questions from other
staff members was an emotional one. I think he felt nobody wanted to work with

Sexual Deprivation Increases Ethanol Intake in Drosophila
G. Shohat Ophir, K. R. Kaun, R. Azanchi, U. Heberlein
There is scientific consensus today that addiction is a chronic disease that changes both brain structure
and function, as abnormal functioning of the brain s reward system (the nucleus accumbens) has been
associated with addictive behavior, originating either from a psychoactive drug, a monetary reward, a
sexual encounter, or a satisfying meal. Drosophila melanogaster, a fruit fly was used in these
experiments to further explain attraction for alcohol containing foods, and the effect of social
experiences on behavior.
The researchers used two different sexual experiences to generate two cohorts of male flies. The first
cohort, rejected isolated, was subjected to courtship conditioning; they experienced 1 hour sessions of
sexual rejection by mated females, three times a day, for 4 days. Such conditioning suppresses future
male courtship behavior, even toward receptive virgin females. The second cohort of mated grouped
flies experienced 6 hour sessions of mating with multiple receptive virgin females at a ratio of 1:5 for
4 days. Flies from each cohort were then tested in a two choice preference assay, in which they
deliberately choose to consume food with or without 15% ethanol supplementation.
There was a significant difference between the 2 cohorts of drosophila in different respects such as
exposure to the social experience

Write An Essay On The Mayans
Over two hundred years ago, a civilization was formed in Mexico and Central America called the
Maya. The journey of the Mayan people was difficult but made them who they are today. Without
technology and all the supplies we have today they survived on their own. Let s see just how they did
it. It all started in 1800 BC when the Maya civilization started. They began by finding land that had all
their needs. Mayans built permanent villages which formed the roots of everything. The Maya made
great strides in mathematics and in astronomy. They developed one of the first solar calendars and
three others. Capan was the Mayans capital where there was a trading center and had rich agriculture.
When not growing crops men were expected to work on construction projects or train for the military.
Otherwise farming was their lives. During this time period the kings and queens ruled the land but
they never formed a unified nation. Kings could have several wives, but women weren t allowed to
have more than one husband. Commoners we never treated as good as royalty. In fact, they had no
vote or say in law decisions and when they were caught wearing green quetzal, feathers, or shell
jewelry were punished. But for someone who did the crime of theft all they had to go was pay or give

The Sac Actun was the most reliable source of water and still is today. Cenotes provided water as well
as the Sac Actun and they both played a major part in Maya lives. Not only did the Maya hunt and eat
animals but they were also targeted by animals. Jaguars were their biggest predator because they
would chase the people and try to get into their lands. The Maya jungle has 8,000 species of plants,
800 birds, 250 mammals, and millions of insects. Plants also played a big part in the lives, they used
them to make medicines. Ceiba trees are tall, thin, and rise 230 feet above forest floors. Mayans still

How Did Walt Disney Create Mickey Mouse?
The public is filled with Disney products and endorsements. Disneyland is known as the happiest
place on Earth and all in thanks to the creator, Walt Disney. Children now look up to Disney as a
source of hope, faith and inspiration for the future. Disney left behind tracks to what a child needs to
grow and to become happy with the idea that magic exists. His first creation was brought to life by
placing upon the name Mickey. It is interesting to note that Mickey Mouse started out as an impish,
mischievous character that played a cow s teeth like a xylophone in his first movie. He also performed
other nasty little tasks as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This new Oswald model was adapted directly from a non Oswald character in another Lantz cartoon:
the Cinecolor Fox and the Rabbit (1935), released some two months earlier as the last of the early
Glogovac 4
Cartune Classics series. It subsequently took his company 78 years to get back the rights to the
Oswald character when in 2006 the Walt Disney Company reacquired the rights to Oswald the Lucky
Rabbit from NBC Universal. (Bellis, 3).
Mickey was created as a replacement for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. In the spring of 1928, Disney
asked Ub Iwerks to start drawing up new character ideas. Iwerks tried sketches of various animals,
such as dogs and cats, but none of these appealed to Disney. A female cow and male horse were also
rejected. They would later turn up as Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar. Walt Disney got the
inspiration for Mickey Mouse from his old pet mouse he used to have on his farm. Mickey Mouse
popped out of my mind onto a drawing pad 20 years ago on a train ride from Manhattan to Hollywood
at a time when business fortunes of my brother Roy and myself were at lowest ebb and disaster
seemed right around the corner. (Disney, 5). Hugh Harman drew some sketches of mice around a
photograph of Walt Disney. These inspired Ub Iwerks to create a new mouse character for Disney.
Mortimer Mouse had been Disney s original name for the character before his wife, Lillian,

Dreams Project (EDP) is for 3 years. Typically girls pursue their graduation while being a part of this
project. Almost all girls that I have interacted during the course of this study were a part of the EDP.
Methodology
I initially wished to conduct the study on the basis of informal interactions of interviews. Prior
experience had taught me that it is rare that participants of the study are extremely comfortable
answering a lengthy questionnaire. Therefore I wanted to do away with the questionnaire. But senior
employees of Akshara made me realise that it might not be such a bad idea to get a basic
understanding of the issue through a questionnaire. Therefore I kept the questionnaire as the last thing
as part of the methodology. I had undertaken informal interactions then had gone into full fledged
interviews and then administered a questionnaire.
It was however, the informal interactions that taught me the most. I was glad that I could meet both
sections. There are several girls that I interacted with but many of them have not filled out the
questionnaire. Of the 30 40 girls that I did meet only 22 of them have filled out a questionnaire. Of
these 6 of them are from female headed households. Almost 95% of the gilrs in teracted

event that led to the diagnosis was a strangulation attempt by a previous partner. Additionally, Mrs.

Apart from these two main diagnosis , Mrs. Reed appears relatively healthy. Unless she can
incorporate more sleep and lower her stress levels, further cognitive deficits will most likely appear.
Caffeine should be excluded from her diet, as caffeine may increase her anxiety. Furthermore, Mrs.
Reed should focus on developing better sleep hygiene. She should work on a nightmare protocol with
her psychologist to decrease nightmares, avoid eating or exercising within several hours of bedtime,
and leave all electronic devices outside of the bedroom. It may also be beneficial to incorporate some
light stretching, yoga, or meditation before bed. By decreasing her sleep deficit, Mrs. Reed s cognitive
function will likely increase, especially in regards to concentration and memory. It may also be
beneficial to prioritize her work daily, in order to ensure completion of the most necessary tasks.
Furthermore, it is imperative to monitor her cardiac functioning as she has a high family history of
cardiovascular disease, and stress only exacerbates this condition more. A cardiologist, a psychologist,
and a psychiatrist should be met with on a regular basis to monitor her condition and watch for any
further decline. Given her relatively high levels of anxiety, Mrs. Reed may benefit from daily
meditation and continuous exercise. This evaluation can serve as a baseline for her neuropsychological
functioning, but further monitoring is recommended. Thank you very much for referring Mrs. Reed to

Similarities And Differences Between Harry Potter And King...
Throughout the Harry Potter novels, there have been many similarities between King Arthur and
Harry Potter. Harry and Arthur have shared similarities since the beginning of their lives, they were
both orphaned and raised by relative, and they both grew up unaware of their great destiny. Arthur was
the only one who could pull the sword Excalibur out of the stone, or from a hand coming out of the
lake which proves he is the true king. Just like only a true Gryffindor could pull the sword of Godric
Gryffindor out of the sorting hat and find it in the lake. Harry s mentor throughout the entire series is
Dumbledore who taught transfiguration and King Arthur s mentor was Merlin, an old man with a long
white beard who was also a shapeshifter. Harry was given an invisibility cloak by Dumbledore and
Arthur had a cloak that made whoever wore it invisible. Ron had a chess set that Harry and him
played with where the pieces moved by themselves and at the end of Sorcerer s Stone they
encountered a life size version. Arthur also had a chess board where the pieces could move all by
themselves. The Mirror of King Rhyence was Merlin s mirror where the person looking at the mirror
will see whatever they wish. Harry stumbled upon the mirror of erised which showed you what you
want most in the world. Harry and King Arthur both have enemies named Lucius as well. Throughout
all the similarities between the two characters makes both stories very interesting. There aren t just

Rape As A Weapon Of War
Being a part of a global community comes with many responsibilities and duties. People of the global
community have to be aware of the dangers that are present in the lives of many people all over the
globe. Human Rights issues are quite serious and violations of these rights should not be taken lightly.
In exploration of a global human rights issue, the discovery of rape as a tool in war was a gross
violation of human rights as well as overwhelmingly a gender issue. Rape used as a tool of war has
devastated and destroyed people, communities, families, and traditions. When discussing rape as
weapon of war, there are two main modern day conflicts that can not be overlooked. Rape as a weapon
of war is brought into light by the wars of Congo and Bosnia. These two conflicts brought the eyes of
the world onto the global issue of rape in war and more specifically how it is used as a tool of
ethnocide and genocide. The recent conflict in the Congo has been rooted in the 1994 Rwandan
Genocide and related violence in Burundi which saw hundreds of thousands of Hutus flee both
countries into eastern Zaïre. (First and Second) In the Rwandan genocide, Hutu power groups (called
the Interahamwe and the Impuzamugambi) led mass killings of Tutsis and pro peace Hutus, murdering
800,000 people in approximately 100 days. (Congo) In response, the Tutsi led Rwandan Patriotic
Front, or RPF, overthrew the Rwandan Hutu government.
During and after the genocide, an estimated 2 million refugees,

The Waste Of A Plastic Container Of Washing Cleanser
Each one time the normal family purchases a plastic container of washing cleanser and discards the

Natural obligation starts in the home and ought to help through to the workplace and the creation

somehow consistently. Be that as it may, by tending to the issues that we can manage effortlessly, we

Keep in mind never to stash paper waste where it may constitute a blaze risk. Cardboard boxes ought
to be fell and grain boxes squashed level before being put into sacks and purged into a public
cardboard reusing container. Plastics constitute the most noticeably bad conceivable risk to the nature

more plastics. Oil ought to be discarded precisely and on the guidance of an expert waste

The Process Of The ACO Process
The ACO process can be described as follows. Let the colony comprises of N ants. The ants start at
the home node, and then travel through the various layers from the first layer to the last/final layer, and
end at the destination node in each cycle or iteration. Each ant can select only one node in each layer
based on the state transition rule given by Eq. (2 9). The nodes chosen along the path visited by an ant
represent a candidate solution. For instance, a typical path visited by an ant is depicted by thick lines
in Fig. 2.2. This path represents the solution (x12, x23, x31, x45, x56, x64). Once the path is
completed, the ant deposits some pheromones on the path based on the local updating rule given by
Eq. (2 10). When all the ants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the following relation Simulated annealing duplicates a phenomenon in nature the annealing of solids
to optimize a complex system. Annealing refers to a process of heating a solid to a liquid state and
then cooling it down slowly such that thermal equilibrium is maintained. Atoms then assume a nearly
global minimum energy mode. In 1953 Metropolis created an algorithm in order to simulate the
annealing process. The algorithm simulates a small random displacement of an atom that leads to a
change in energy. If the change in energy is negative, the energy mode of the novel configuration is
lower and the novel configuration is accepted. If the change in energy is positive, the novel
configuration has a higher energy state; but, it may still be accepted based on the Boltzmann
probability factor [103 104]: 2.21 where is the Boltzmann constant and denotes the current
temperature. By examining this relation, we should note two things: the probability is proportional to
temperature, as the solid cools, the probability gets smaller; and inversely proportional to , as the
change in energy is larger the probability of accepting the changes gets smaller. When used in
engineering design, an analogy is made between energy and the objective function. The design is

Analysis Of Corporate Governance Disclosure Practices Of...
Research Problem Ever since India opened up its economy to privatization, liberalization and
globalization there has been rapid institutionalization of the corporate sector and private enterprise.
This has quickened the pace of economic growth since 1992. In this changed scenario, the quality of
Corporate Disclosures has been an important factor not only for survival of the companies but also for
influencing the company s ability to raise money from capital market. In recent times, corporate
governance has attracted much attention both in academic literature and press media. Corporate
Governance is related to effective, transparent and accountable administration of affairs of an
institution by its management, while protecting the interest of its stakeholders comprising of the
shareholders, creditors, regulators and the public at large. But the implementation of Corporate
Governance principles is not an easy task. It is a very wide subject and needs a lot of discussion. The
purpose of this study is to analysis corporate governance disclosures practices of listed Companies. As
a medium for communicating information, annual reports generally include two types of disclosures
mandatory and voluntary disclosures. In India, mandatory disclosures are required as per the
provisions of Companies Act 2013(previously according to CA, 1956), and its various sister laws.
Voluntary disclosures are those which are voluntarily disclosed by companies without any compulsion
from any law.

The Meaning of A White Heron Essay
The Meaning of A White Heron Through life experiences we learn that some things in life are more
important than money. By using the Archetypal Cycle of Human experience I will be able to explain
the importance of each stage in the story A white Heron by Sarah Orne Jewett. The story A white
Heron is about a nine year old girl named Sylvia. The author starts the cycle/framework by implying
through the character s age that Sylvia has a certain innocence that only a young child early in life can
possess. This is the first stage in the cycle of human experiences, the innocence stage. Sylvia had
moved from the city to the country in order to live with her grandmother when she was eight years
old. Sylvia used to live in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This sparked an interest in the man, and he talked about his bird collection and that he was out there to
get a white heron. The man asked if Sylvia had seen a white heron, but she did not reply. The man said
that he would pay ten dollars to anyone who could show him the location of the white heron s nest.
Sylvia thought of all the treasures that she could buy with that wealth. This paragraph contains the
third step in the cycle because of the range of emotions that she experienced and the choices she made.
The third step is all about experiences, trial an error and temptations. Sylvia was no longer
thinking/acting with a good heart; she had been taken control of by greed. The next day the man goes
out in search for the white heron and Sylvia accompanied him. While they were looking for the heron
the man gives Sylvia a jack knife. Sylvia starts to like the man because he is kind and sympathetic.
Sylvia could not understand why he killed the birds that he liked so much. Sylvia has now started to
develop certain feelings for the man. The man stayed the night again at the house and all that Sylvia
could think about was climbing the pine tree to find the white heron so she could gain the man s
approval of her. This paragraph is the fourth step in the cycle because of the internal emotions that she
had created. The fourth step is death, psychologically or internally (what you believed about your
standards). The author has Sylvia develop feeling for the man

Meaning and Texture of the Seventh Poem in Leaves of...
Meaning and Texture of the Seventh Poem in Leaves of Grass
Walt Whitman s seventh poem in his work, Leaves of Grass, displays the subtlety with which the poet
is able to manipulate the reader s emotions. In this poem there are no particular emotional images, but
the overall image painted by word choice and use of sounds is quite profound. This poem, like many
others written by Walt Whitman, is somewhat somber in mood, but not morose. It is serious, but not to
the point of gloom. Whitman writes concerning the general idea that everything is merged together
and is one. One cannot die without being born, just as one cannot be a mother without first having
one. The purpose of the poem is to show those things that are real are ... Show more content on

He makes many lines quite long, but only those that link ideas together. He speaks of death and birth
in the same line in the second stanza, just as he talks of male and female in the same line in the third
stanza. He does this to aid the reader in deciphering the meaning of the poem. Everything is truth;
everything is unified, even those things we perceive as opposite.
Strong adjectives illustrating his point are also prevalent in the poem. He writes, I.../Am around,
tenacious, acquisitive, tireless.... He uses these words to merely illustrate the concept that the soul, or
omnipotent being, is always there watching. These adjectives make the poem more descriptive, and
they paint a more vivid picture in the reader s mind. Also, he chooses many words that have soft
sounds with endings like ss, th, etc. These words include, pass, earth, birth, and many others.
However, he then counterbalances these with harder sounding words like adjunct, immortal, and
begetters. Even the words of the poem serve to illustrate his point of universal unity.
The repetition in the poem also aids in understanding the overall message of the poem. He only says
what he is and what, For me... the world is. Whitman s manipulation of words portrays a more
optimistic, positive view, not a

Negative effect in short term
Generally speaking original Special K positively affected Special K cereal and Special K bars, but it
also showed negative effect, and the negative effect from original Special K was more obvious on
Special K bars than on Special K cereal.
Special K bars was designed as a healthy snack, and the target customers are both users and non users
of existing Special K. However, the brand as Special K that is usually equivalent to healthy breakfast
may be the first impression in customers mind, which could have affected the sale of Special K bars at

But in the other hand, research shows a changing demand of customers, i.e. women who are keen to
watch their weight and keep fit seek a range of solution throughout the day, but not just at breakfast. In
addition, it is women who do the most of family shopping and care for the whole family s healthy
eating. In fact this is a good opportunity to grow brand scope.
By the support of promotions like TV advertising, free trying, the existing Special K customers would
break the opinion that Special K only service healthy breakfast, and realise that it applies healthy

Essay on The Red Room and The Cone by H.G. Wells
The Red Room and The Cone by H.G. Wells
Both stories are Gothic mystery stories and were written around the late eighteenth century to the
early nineteenth century. These sorts of stories usually have a setting of a dark, abandoned and scary
place. The Red Room is about a young man who visits a castle and feels he must spend a night in a
mysterious room that is suspected to be haunted. The Cone is about a woman having an affair with a
man called
Raut. The story is based around the husband who is called Horrocks seeing Raut with his wife.
However it is not known whether or not
Horrocks knows if his wife is having an affair with Raut.

This is because it gives the reader an idea of the person so they can visualise it for themselves, but at
the same time doesn t give the reader enough information which therefore makes the reader feel more
involved in the book. For example, in The Cone it reads a silent grey, shadowy figure. This description
is vague and so it doesn t give the reader a clear picture of the character, and therefore, this again
creates tension because of the lack of description. In the case of The Red Room there is also a
description of a man that possesses a withered arm. This is an uncommon feature in any person, even
one as old as the one mentioned in the story. The reader would think that there must have been a
reason why this old man has this feature and because the reason has not been explained to the reader,
he or she will be compelled to read on to find out how the old man achieved this withered arm.
Also I believe that the descriptions of major characters and settings would add to the tension and
suspense as well. This is because in giving the reader a small but detailed description of the setting, it
involves the reader more, therefore the reader feels more involved with the book and so tension is
created a lot easier. In The Red Room the sentence chilly echoing passage and long draughty
subterranean passage draws the reader into the story and helps them feel as if they were

Data Warehousing And Data Mining Essay
Introduction Data Warehousing and Data Mining has always been associated with manufacturing
companies, where sales and profit is the main driving force. Subsequently Higher Education has
grown throughout the years; this growth is predominately associated with the increase of online
institutions. This growth has resulted in higher education to adapt to a more business like institution
(Lazerson, 2000). Since higher education has blurred the lines with traditional businesses, it is
important to have the tools to assist them with valuable data and information, in making decisions.
Using of data and having the right data mining tools can insure the institute s success, in many forms,
such as, identifying market trends, precision marketing, new products, performance management,
grants and funding management, student life cycle management and procurement to mention a few. To
get a better grasp on these benefits it s important to understand data warehouse, data mining and the
associated benefits.
Data Warehouse Data warehouse are multiple databases that work together. In other words, data
warehouse integrates data from other databases. This will provide a better understanding to the data.
Its primary goal is not to just store data, but to enhance the business, in this case, higher education
institute, a means to make decisions that can influence their success. This is accomplished, by the data

Plato and the Republic Essay
The Sun of Knowledge:
Platonic Epistemology as Discussed in The Republic
The history of philosophy can be viewed as the result of the work of an obscure Athenian whose
voluminous works, penetrating questions, novel ideas, and didactic teachings have shaped the flow of
nearly all philosophic thought. It has been said that the influence of the ancient Greek philosopher
named Plato has laid the foundation for Western culture. Plato was born to an aristocratic family in
Athens in 428/427 B.C. As a young man, Plato studied poetry, but later under the tutelage of the
famed Socrates, turned to philosophy, who introduced him to the ethical importance of the pursuit of
wisdom. Plato was also influenced by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the purpose of this essay to give an analysis of Plato s theory of the cause of knowledge in the
idea of the good through his illustration of the sun and determine how his theory relates to his question
of justice.
The Forms
Plato in the Republic assumes the reader has an understanding of his doctrine of the forms, thus an
introduction to his doctrine is imperative before a discussion of his illustration of the sun can begin.
Plato was an idealist, meaning that ideas comprise what is ultimately real in this world. This is
antithetical to his student Aristotle who held that material was ultimately real. The Renaissance painter
Raphael illustrates these two contrasting positions in his famous painting The School of Athens.
Raphael depicts Plato with his arm stretched out, pointing to the sky (implying that ideas are real), and
Aristotle with his hand spread, pointing down to the earth (implying that material is real).
For Plato, ideas, or forms, are intelligible, distinct, eternal patterns of which the objects on earth are
mere reflections. Each object on earth has a corresponding form. For example, there is a single form
of a chair, and all other chairs (whether three legged or four, metal or wood) are flawed copies of the
ultimate, changeless form of the chair. Plato is concerned with the nature of existence. What is the
substance of

How The Supply Chain Has Evolved Over The Years
The supply chain has evolved over the years. With new businesses that are on the rise in the
competitive world it is important to stay on top. Different merchants create better deals that cause
relationships between the suppliers and their customers to the end. I wanted to explore those
relationships and research the history of the supply chain . I wanted to know how things were ran and
how they are able to sustain business when the economy changes.
How supply chain management has evolved In the 1940s and 1950s, the focus of logistics research
was on how to use mechanization (e.g., pallets and pallet lifts) to improve the very labor intensive
processes of material handling and how to take better advantage of space using racking and better
warehouse design and layout. The unit load concept gained popularity and the use of pallets became
widespread. In the mid 1950s, this concept was extended to transportation management with the
development of inter modal containers together with ships, trains, and trucks to handle these
containers. By the 1960s, a clear trend had developed in shifting more time dependent freight
transportation to truck rather than rail. This led to the need for joint consideration of warehousing,
material handling, and freight transportation, which emerged under the label of Physical Distribution.
Since the 1980s, computer technology has advanced at such a phenomenal rate that it is currently far
ahead of the ability of the supply and logistics field

Analysis Of The Man From Snowy River By Banjo Paterson
The Man From Snowy River by Banjo Paterson 1. Andrew Barton Paterson, more commonly known
as Banjo Paterson, was a famous Australian poet who was born on the 17th February, 1863. He spent
his early life at a farm near Yass, in between Melbourne and Sydney. His early education came from a
governess, but as soon as he was able to ride a pony by himself, he was taught at a school in Binalong.
At 11, Paterson went to Sydney Grammar School whilst his family was living in Gladesville. He left
SCS at 16 after failing an examination. From 1885, he started having poetry published in Australian
magazine, The Bulletin, where he first coined the pseudonym Banjo , the name of his favourite horse.
In 1899, Paterson became a war correspondent for multiple newspapers, but in 1908, he decided to
take a break from journalism writing and focus more on his poetry. In WWI, Paterson served as an
ambulance driver and returned to Australia in 1919. His third collection of poetry, Saltbush Bill JP,
was published soon after. Paterson died of a heart attack in 1941, just 12 days before his 77th birthday.
2. The Man from Snowy River tells the story of a horse that escapes from a ranch. The owner offers a
lot of money to capture the prized possession and so many drovers set off to capture the horse. The
drovers pursue the horse across the country, but are defeated by the rough terrain. Then the Man from
Snowy River steps up and charges down the slope. He is lost to view by the rest of the group, but
reappears later, tired and battered, with the horse trailing behind him. 3. The Man from Snowy River
holds plenty of language devices that help capture the mood and setting of the poem. The old man
with his hair as white as snow makes use of simile to help describe one of the men on a horse. The
simile makes the line more interesting and less monotonous by showing what he looks like rather than
straight out telling. The man is made out to be strong and fierce but the similarity of his hair and snow
juxtaposes this power as snow is thought to be delicate and beautiful. Another technique is the
metaphor And the stock horse snuffs the battle with delight. This hints that the drovers must be
prepared for the dangerous job ahead of them, if

speeches, his inauguration speech, he states Vice President Johnson, Mr. Speaker, Mr. Chief Justice,
President Eisenhower, Vice President Nixon, President Truman, reverend clergy, fellow citizens:... Let
every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet
any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty. This

Jhonson and Johnson Strategic Analysis Process
I. What Business Are We In? II. Where Are We Now? External Assessment Trend Analysis Economic
Factors U.S GDP One of the main economic factors that would affect JNJ is GDP. As shown above
GDP in the United States is decreasing meaning resources will be limited and there will be a much
needed increase in cash flows for competitive advantage. GDP s in others countries are increasing
giving JNJ more opportunities to expand to more markets around the world to increase their market
share and distribution. Currency | US Dollar Per Currency December 31st, 2008 | US Dollar Per

Keeping up with the newest technology would make research and development much more productive
and efficient and would give JNJ better opportunities to come up with newer, healthier, and more
useful products. Not only would it help research and development, but technology innovations can
help with operations and even with control factors over the company. There are many different forces
that JNJ needs to be aware of. They need to be able to take full advantage of the opportunities and
prepare for the threats to maximize competitive advantage knowing the different trends. Potential
development of substitute products Competitive Analysis Porter s Five Force Model Rivalry among
competing firms Bargaining power of suppliers Bargaining power of consumers Potential entry of new
competitors Potential development of substitute products The existence of products outside of the
realm of the common product boundaries increases the propensity of customers to switch to
alternatives. Since pharmaceutical and medical devices are necessary for the maintenance of good
health, a significant decrease in use is not likely. The largest threat of substitutes comes from generic
pharmaceuticals. Once a drug loses patent protection, associated revenue usually rapidly falls. One
way to mitigate the effect of generic drugs would be to develop more compounds with lower sales,
perhaps by targeting more precise conditions. A similar threat of substitutes is

Ida B Wells Argument For Lynchingnings
In the late 19th century, lynchings were commonplace occurrences, especially in Southern states. The
lynchings were publicized in newspaper ads and were so accepted that postcards showing pictures of
the event were sold as souvenirs. Apologists claimed that the lynchings took place to punish criminals
for their crimes and to protect white women from black aggressors. To counter the claims that resulted
in these punishments, many activists, including Ida B. Wells, wrote speeches depicting the harsh and
racist reality of lynchings. In 1909, Wells gave a speech at the National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People s first annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia, in which she condemns
lynchings and their public acceptance. By offering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In her speech, Ida B. Wells appeals to emotion and logic by using statistics and real life stories of
lynchings. She also counters the apologists defense of lynching by using strong language and statistics
to disprove the validity of their claims. Finally, Wells offers a solution on how to end lynching and
ensures that crimes will still be punished, even if lynching subsides. Despite the criticism of Wells and
many other authors and activists, lynching persisted in the United States for a substantial period of
time. Lynchings were so frequent in Southern states that Montgomery, Alabama, has plans to build a
lynching memorial to recognize the mistreatment of black citizens and memorialize the victims.
However, lynchings then were not the public disgrace they are now considered, and the unjust
treatment of black citizens continued even after the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Activists like Wells have
continued to identify racism when they see it in hopes to create a more equal society, but many would
argue that an equal society still has not been

Strategic Performance Analysis Of Delta, Southwest, And...
Introduction:
Developing a strategic performance plan for a company is only the first step. The plan must then be
implemented and after a short period of time it must then be evaluated. This evaluation is key in
determining if the strategic plan is not only effective but also efficient. After being presented with
yearly data for the top three competitors, Delta, Southwest, and United Airlines, of the US airline
industry, it was my goal to develop comparative performance metrics to find out how if the companies
strategies are efficient in a financial standpoint. While I calculated all of the required metrics, only a
few stood out to me as useful when evaluating the companies. Some of the key performance metrics
that I computed are revenue per employee, accounts receivable turnover, current ratio, and return on
assets.
Revenue per employee
Revenue per employee is a calculation that allows you see if the company is effectively utilizing its
resources and also what their level of productivity is. Revenue per employee and productivity share a
positive relationship so the higher the output, the better. After calculating each company s revenue per
employee during the fiscal years 2005 to 2012, I calculated the average to make an overall comparison
of the three.
Delta Airlines came out on top with the highest revenue per employee and United Airlines with a close
second. This shows that these three companies are staying relatively competitive with their
productivity.

What I Learned In Anatomy Class
My hand was sprinting across the page with charcoal in palm, and the finish line of my sketch was in
sight. The image of a model s face was quickly appearing, and the proportions of her eyes to nose and
ear to mouth were just right. Proportions of the human face were something I learned in art class,
whereas the details in her eyes were something I learned in anatomy class.
I never knew how much I loved science until my love for art developed. As a child, I grew up in a
home where my parents encouraged me to flourish creatively. While we lived in Europe, I thrived on
new adventures as they took me to museums, cathedrals, and castles throughout several countries. The
sculptures and paintings of people always amazed me. My small brain could ... Show more content on

During my time there, I shadowed a pediatric doctor. While I was asking him questions, he was called
into an emergency surgery, and I was unfortunately not old enough to watch according to the hospital
restrictions. So as I was waiting around, a PA swooped me up and let me shadow her instead. I was
embarrassed to admit to her that I was not aware of a PA s responsibilities to the hospital. Throughout
the rest of the day, I followed the PA into patient rooms and recovery rooms. I was able to observe
how the PA interacted with patients with such a reassuring and caring attitude that I had not seen with
the previous physician I had met. I not only respected her compassionate personality, but I related to
it.
My senior year, I desired to see more of what life was like as a PA. Thankfully, I was finally within the
age requirement to stand in on surgeries. That day I saw the PA make the first cut and suture the last
stitch. Both were made with such precision and perfection. It hit me; the PA was an artist just like
Rubens, Giorgione, and Michelangelo. The sutures were just as beautiful as the paintings in all the

America s Education And Political Leaders Essay
By January, 2014, even former U.S. Secretary of Education Arnie Duncan had noticed the dysfunction
(Elliott, 2014) among Indiana s education and political leaders. A 2015 Senate Bill was even authored
that would have ended Indiana s practice of electing the state education chief so one could be
appointed by the governor (SB 24). A look at the headlines in the Indianapolis Star over the past
couple of years sums up nicely the relationship among Indian s educational and political leaders:
November 5, 2014: 10 epic clashes between Glenda Ritz, Indiana State Board of Education
December 3, 2014: Glenda Ritz loses another State Board of Education battle
January 14, 2015: Senate education bills would strip power from Glenda Ritz
February 18, 2015: Senate OKs change in selection of Education Board chair; Glenda Ritz could be
left out
April 30, 2015: Glenda Ritz considers running for governor after legislative attacks
May 7, 2015: Pence signs bill stripping Ritz of education authority
August 30, 2015: GOP struggling to find challenger for Glenda Ritz
(Nice long lull in the headlines...)
March 13, 2016: With election looming, Indiana lawmakers played it safe in 2016 session After two
years of public bickering over such topics as rules of order, school A F grades, the Center for

Antipsychotic Diseases
The antipsychotic medications are recommended as pharmacological interventions to treat psychotic
episode in psychosis and schizophrenia (NICE 2014). They may be classified as atypical and typical
antipsychotics (Meltzer 2013). The atypical drugs refer to as the newer generation of antipsychotics
which may have less extrapyramidal side effects (EPS) compared to the typical antipsychotics, also
known as the first generation of antipsychotics (Meltzer 2013). Both types of antipsychotic drugs are
utilised therapeutically to manage positive, negative, and other symptoms of psychosis and

severe EPS (Divac et al. 2014). Strong evidence suggests that haloperidol can cause increased EPS
such as akathisia, parkinsonism, and dyskinesia compared with the atypical antipsychotic drugs (Kahn
et al. 2008). Prolonged treatment with the typical antipsychotics could also lead to late onset of EPS,
which has a higher incident rate of tardive dyskinesia, characterised by involuntary and repetitive
facial movements (Divac et al. 2014). In addition, typical antipsychotics have been linked to elevated
prolactin, causing galactorrhea and amenorrhea, which the atypical antipsychotics are free from
(Hasan et al. 2012). Some typical and atypical antipsychotic drugs could cause impaired glucose
tolerance, insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia and weight gain, which increases the risk of type 2
diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases (Meltzer 2013). Both classes of antipsychotic drugs
could cause neuroleptic malignant syndrome, epileptic seizures, sexual dysfunctions, leukopenia and

Essay on Acid in Soda

Methods: Two sodas containing citric acid were investigated in this experiment. Each soda was
titrated using one of the two experimental methods. These methods are the traditional titration and the
modern titration. Carbonic acid was already removed from the soda by boiling it. Both of the two
different titration methods use the same basic set up. Firstly, the buret must be cleaned thoroughly
with tap water. While cleaning the buret, it is also checked to make sure there are no leaks. The ring
stand is then set up with a buret clamp and the cleaned buret placed ... Show more content on

The device stores the entered data and records it on a chart. This process of titration was repeated two
more times for a total of three accurate titrations. The data stored in the device was then transferred to
a computer and saved. The charts and data collected can be found on the last page. The volume of
NaOH used to reach the equivalence point was calculated for each of the three titrations. The
equivalence point was found graphically. Using the volume of NaOH and the molarity of NaOH, the
moles of NaOH were calculated. Using the volume of the soda used, the molarity of citric acid was
found. Then the mean and standard deviation of the molarity of citric acid was calculated.
Results:
In the traditional titration, the recorded data is shown in the following chart:
Table 1: | Volume of soda | Volume of NaOH | RatioNaOH:soda | MolesNaOH | MolesCitric acid |
MolarityCitric acid | Titration1 | 40.00mL | 19.00mL | .475 | 8.85* 10^ 4 | 2.95* 10^ 4 | 7.375*10^ 3 |

From the data in Table 1, the mean and standard deviation was calculated for the molarity of citric
acid:
Mean molarity of citric acid: 7.31*10^ 3
Standard Deviation: 6.837*10^ 5

Athletic Coaches Research Paper
If a group of students were asked who the biggest influence in their life was, many would say some
kind of coach. The general thought that comes to mind when discussing coaching is athletic coaches,
but coaching has a much broader spectrum. The major difference between a coach and other leaders is
commitment. Coaches help build plans for success for their followers and then follow their progress
until the goal is completed. In my life, I use coaching often with my younger siblings and still receive
coaching from my older brothers. It is important to me to check in with my little brother about school,
sports, and his goals. Having gone through it before, I can offer advice and suggestions and hopefully
help him to achieve his goals. In addition,

The Importance Of Community Newspaper Websites
This study provides further support that the journalists at community news outlets interact with their
audiences on many levels as part of the personal relationships they develop within the community, and
based on the expectation of the public (Lowrey, Brozana, Mackay, 2008; Reader, 2012a). While the
relationship does appear to continue online; the results of this study suggest, the locations where the
community newspaper website managers believe it is important to interact may not always correspond
with public wishes. Overall, the interactivity content analysis indicates that community newspaper
websites still operate using a low level of interaction supporting prior research by Chung and Nah
(2009) and Larsson (2011). However, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both clarification and correction might help to inform citizens but would seem to do little to engage
them and encourage them to get involved (Lowrey, Brozana, Mackay, 2008). In fact, this type of
interaction would appear to support the traditional gatekeeping idea of the media as purveyors of truth
and expertise. However, there is some part of the audience that does seek to communicate with
experts, so it is possible that this type of interaction would increase participation (Wang, 2017).
It is difficult to criticize those in community media regarding how they chose to interact with the
public. It is a field with low staffing and tremendous workloads. Yet as Lowrey, Brozana, and Mackay
(2008) suggest the potential exists for journalists who fail to interact online to miss an opportunity to
foster an engaged audience. They also might relinquish their potential to guide the conversation
through the manipulation that networked gatekeepers can use (Barzilai Nahon, 2005). In addition,
Webizens offer a potential group of sources to journalists facing an increasingly high demand for
content. This dissertation supports previous research that shows journalists seeking to connect with an
online community must willingly interact with the public (Meyer Carey, 2014). There is a need for
journalists through their interactions

I Remember An Exchange Between Two Board Members Essay
Acknowledge the problem. I remember an exchange between two board members. One member was
frustrated with the direction the organization was taking. He told the other, Just don t worry about it. It
isn t that important. Keep in mind what appears to be a small issue to you can be a major issue with
another. Acknowledging the frustration and concerns is an important step in resolving the conflict.
Honesty and clear communication play an important role in the resolution process. Acquaint yourself
with what s happening and be open about the problem. Let individuals express their feelings. Some
feelings of anger and/or hurt usually accompany conflict situations. Before any kind of problem
solving can take place, these emotions should be expressed and acknowledged.
Establish guidelines. Before conducting a formal meeting between individuals, get both parties to
agree to a few meeting guidelines. Ask them to express themselves calmly as unemotionally as
possible. Have them agree to attempt to understand each other s perspective. Tell them if they violate
the guidelines the meeting will come to an end.
Be patient and take your time. Take time to evaluate all information. A too quick decision does more
harm than good when it turns out to be the wrong decision and further alienating the individual
involved.
Avoid using coercion and intimidation. Emotional outbursts or coercing people may stop the problem
temporarily, but do not fool yourself into thinking it is a long term

The Ring as a Symbol of Evil in J. R. R. Tolkien s The...
Power, despair, corruption, all are conceived by the ring of power, the one ring that s sole purpose is to
bring evil to the world and destroy the race of man. In the epic novel The Lord of the Rings: The
Fellowship of the Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien, the author uses the ring as a symbol of evil that corrupts
almost every soul it encounters. Tolkien carefully uses the ring to symbolize how even the smallest
objects can cause so much pain and death and bring fear to the hearts in Middle Earth (setting in the
book). The ring lies in the heart of the story, giving temptation to almost every character it crosses or
has crossed and even transforming once thought to be harmless folk into the most twisted and sinister
villains. The separation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of this, Sméagol s nature, his very character, soul, and embodiment is changed by the ring. As
an object of evil, the ring strives to destroy a person s free will and transform them into a host of evil.
Tolkien states that the ring will corrupt whoever is in possession of it. This gives the idea of
imprisonment for the soul purpose of fulfilling the rings goal, destruction. As Sméagol continues his
obsession over the ring, it eats away at him and overpowers any individualism he once had.
Tolkien creates the ring as the epitome of evilness to give it a mind of its own. With this symbolism,
the ring is able to maneuver itself and corrupt whom it pleases. It takes on the evilness of the beholder
and enhances their evil thoughts to the point in which evilness is the only thought that consumes them.
As described by another hobbit, Frodo, the ring has an unwholesome power that sets to work on its
keeper at once. In Sméagol s instance, the ring is able to take a strong hold of his soul with just a look
at the bright and beautiful gold that it entails. Such evilness is personified by Tolkien because Tolkien
sees it as something that takes action, not something that is acted upon. The power that the ring
possesses eats away at him until he is an entire different creature. The ring destroys Sméagol and
creates Gollum, an outcast and a murderer. The theme of temptation displayed by Tolkien coincides
with the temptation that evilness

At First Reading Mary Shelley’S Novel Frankenstein Appears
At first reading Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein appears to be part of the gothic or horror genre, but
further examination of this novel reveals many concepts and perspectives that are related to other
genres of English literature. Along with possessing various conceptual ideas this novel brilliantly
highlights the characteristics of men, which many authors have credited Mary Shelley s understanding
of the opposite gender as exceptional. Throughout this novel there can be identified three male
characters that are used to tell the tale by Mary Shelley. These three characters are Captain Robert
Walton, Victor Frankenstein and the monster. However, these characters portray different perspectives,
but they all have various similarities and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Victor Frankenstein s story and death completely changed the perspective of Robert Walton and
instead of carrying on his expedition of discovery, he turned back to travel home. It is past; I am
returning to England. I have lost my hopes of utility and glory; I have lost my friend (Shelley, 160).
Victor Frankenstein was in the eyes of Walton a person who is similar to him, but uplifted Walton s
weary heart as he faced challenges along the expedition. He excites at once my admiration and my
pity to an astonishing degree (Shelley, 11). Along with the thirst of discovery of the unknown, Victor
Frankenstein is also involved in an act of romance towards Elizabeth Lavenza, who he loved dearly
my more than sister, since till death she was to be mine only (Shelley, 18). Victor was raised in a
loving household and was privileged to receive higher education at the university of Ingolstadt.
Further analysis of his character show evidence that Frankenstein is egotistical, for he isolates himself
from his family and society to create the monster that later he despises (Marklund,6). Thus, ignoring
his duties towards his family as his father said to him, I know that while you are pleased with yourself,
you will think of us with affection, and we shall hear regularly from you. You must pardon me if I
regard any interruption in your correspondence as a proof that your other duties are

King Lear Gender Roles
Gender in King Lear
During the early 17th century, women had very little influence over social, political, and economic
relations. Shakespeare s female characters Goneril and Regan, in The Tragedy of King Lear (1623),
defies this standard. I find that Goneril and Regan s actions throughout the play precedent aspects of
modern feminism, as suggested by Judith Butler in Performative Acts and Gender Constitution: An
Essay in Phenomenology and Feminist Theory. It is apparent, Shakespeare was ahead of his time in
writing The Tragedy of King Lear, he shows how women can be equals, if not superior, to men,
Shakespeare s progressive depiction of women is enacted through the manifestations of Goneril and
Regan s independence. They apprehend the patriarchal, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both Goneril and Regan understood the societal norms regarding gender, and used the patriarchal
society to their advantage in order to satisfy their own self interests. Even though the play ends with
their death due their own downfalls, Goneril and Regan are the epitome of female empowerment. In
my opinion, Goneril and Regan was the driving force behind The Tragedy of King Lear, influencing
the madness of King Lear and his downfall. Thus, Shakespeare effectively demonstrated the idea of
submissive women in writing The Tragedy of King Lear, and instead produced characters equal to and

It is evident Chris is attempting to make this personal, I will not join him in this fight, I am only stating the facts and think it s silly to have to keep going back on forth on what is now frivolous, however I will defend myself against these and any personal attacks. My visa process had nothing to do with Chris s evaluation, my R R and his evaluation occurred in the same time frame, however I had been watching. Again, I m in the BDOC every day, I pull up a chair and sit with the operator for hours; however, my presence doesn t always require me to interact with the customer (referring to the lower enlisted soldiers in the BDOC), 99.99% of the time when I walk in the BDOC everyone is on the computer watching movies, so they are oblivious to anything going on. • 3. The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock By T. S. The realistic narrative of The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock as told by T. S. Eliot invited readers into the mind of an old man as he struggled against the social norm created by the new youth. As the eternal footman (Eliot 720) approached the aging, but relatable man, Prufrock began to question the world around him that was changed by the youth, but he failed to change with society, creating the mental prison he cannot escape. Since The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock had modernism in mind Prufrock was a character that anyone should be able to connect with even if the reader is younger than Prufrock. For example, has the story progressed Prufrock asked questions such as What is it? (Eliot 718), Do I dare? (Eliot 719), and How ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He never explicitly explained his past because if Eliot had him talk about his specific past, then he would become less relatable to the reader, but the reader can take hints of Prufrock s/their age as they say in pretend dialogue with a woman, How his hair is growing thin! and But how his arms and legs are thin! and with a bald spot in the middle of my hair (Eliot 719) giving us the idea that he was aging but still young enough to not be married and still looking for love. Most important however was how Prufrock/the reader debate on whether he should part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach? I shall wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach (Eliot 721). Prufrock/the reader were trying to decide whether he should accept his old age and give in to the new society or if he should disturb the universe (Eliot 719) and fight against the new society and live the way he wants to and not the life society had given him. It was this struggle that created the story, but the item that separated it from the reader was that Prufrock s decision was given the definitive answer that he was forced to give into society s demands because he [does] not think that they will sing to [him] (Eliot 722). Prufrock struggled and fought against society, but lost to its social norms. T. S. Eliot s poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock told the story of a man struggling against society. However, he was more than a man because Prufrock was actually a reflection of the reader and the life that they faced or the life that they will face in the future. Prufrock/the reader asked many questions, but only the reader can decide whether they will succeed in denying social norms unlike ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another argument he made is he had bigger problems than to listen to than answering other questions presented by other staff members. Pats decision to launch a new product in a new market was sound. To be the first company on the market with a new product to get ahead of your competitors is a good market strategy. His idea to use an outside contractor was unsound because we are already in a budget deficit and there is now guarantee that the contractor would have the product completed in time. • 12. Sexual Deprivation Increases Ethanol Intake Yolande Megni APPL 601 Homework 2 Sexual Deprivation Increases Ethanol Intake in Drosophila G. Shohat Ophir, K. R. Kaun, R. Azanchi, U. Heberlein There is scientific consensus today that addiction is a chronic disease that changes both brain structure and function, as abnormal functioning of the brain s reward system (the nucleus accumbens) has been associated with addictive behavior, originating either from a psychoactive drug, a monetary reward, a sexual encounter, or a satisfying meal. Drosophila melanogaster, a fruit fly was used in these experiments to further explain attraction for alcohol containing foods, and the effect of social experiences on behavior. The researchers used two different sexual experiences to generate two cohorts of male flies. The first cohort, rejected isolated, was subjected to courtship conditioning; they experienced 1 hour sessions of sexual rejection by mated females, three times a day, for 4 days. Such conditioning suppresses future male courtship behavior, even toward receptive virgin females. The second cohort of mated grouped flies experienced 6 hour sessions of mating with multiple receptive virgin females at a ratio of 1:5 for 4 days. Flies from each cohort were then tested in a two choice preference assay, in which they deliberately choose to consume food with or without 15% ethanol supplementation. • 13. Write An Essay On The Mayans Over two hundred years ago, a civilization was formed in Mexico and Central America called the Maya. The journey of the Mayan people was difficult but made them who they are today. Without technology and all the supplies we have today they survived on their own. Let s see just how they did it. It all started in 1800 BC when the Maya civilization started. They began by finding land that had all their needs. Mayans built permanent villages which formed the roots of everything. The Maya made great strides in mathematics and in astronomy. They developed one of the first solar calendars and three others. Capan was the Mayans capital where there was a trading center and had rich agriculture. When not growing crops men were expected to work on construction projects or train for the military. Otherwise farming was their lives. During this time period the kings and queens ruled the land but they never formed a unified nation. Kings could have several wives, but women weren t allowed to have more than one husband. Commoners we never treated as good as royalty. This new Oswald model was adapted directly from a non Oswald character in another Lantz cartoon: the Cinecolor Fox and the Rabbit (1935), released some two months earlier as the last of the early Glogovac 4 Cartune Classics series. It subsequently took his company 78 years to get back the rights to the Oswald character when in 2006 the Walt Disney Company reacquired the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit from NBC Universal. (Bellis, 3). Mickey was created as a replacement for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. In the spring of 1928, Disney asked Ub Iwerks to start drawing up new character ideas. Iwerks tried sketches of various animals, such as dogs and cats, but none of these appealed to Disney. A female cow and male horse were also rejected. They would later turn up as Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar. Walt Disney got the inspiration for Mickey Mouse from his old pet mouse he used to have on his farm. Mickey Mouse popped out of my mind onto a drawing pad 20 years ago on a train ride from Manhattan to Hollywood at a time when business fortunes of my brother Roy and myself were at lowest ebb and disaster seemed right around the corner. Harry and Arthur have shared similarities since the beginning of their lives, they were both orphaned and raised by relative, and they both grew up unaware of their great destiny. Arthur was the only one who could pull the sword Excalibur out of the stone, or from a hand coming out of the lake which proves he is the true king. Ron had a chess set that Harry and him played with where the pieces moved by themselves and at the end of Sorcerer s Stone they encountered a life size version. Human Rights issues are quite serious and violations of these rights should not be taken lightly. In exploration of a global human rights issue, the discovery of rape as a tool in war was a gross violation of human rights as well as overwhelmingly a gender issue. Rape used as a tool of war has devastated and destroyed people, communities, families, and traditions. When discussing rape as weapon of war, there are two main modern day conflicts that can not be overlooked. Rape as a weapon of war is brought into light by the wars of Congo and Bosnia. These two conflicts brought the eyes of the world onto the global issue of rape in war and more specifically how it is used as a tool of ethnocide and genocide. The recent conflict in the Congo has been rooted in the 1994 Rwandan Genocide and related violence in Burundi which saw hundreds of thousands of Hutus flee both countries into eastern Zaïre. (First and Second) In the Rwandan genocide, Hutu power groups (called the Interahamwe and the Impuzamugambi) led mass killings of Tutsis and pro peace Hutus, murdering 800,000 people in approximately 100 days. Each ant can select only one node in each layer based on the state transition rule given by Eq. (2 9). The nodes chosen along the path visited by an ant represent a candidate solution. For instance, a typical path visited by an ant is depicted by thick lines in Fig. 2.2. This path represents the solution (x12, x23, x31, x45, x56, x64). Annealing refers to a process of heating a solid to a liquid state and then cooling it down slowly such that thermal equilibrium is maintained. Atoms then assume a nearly global minimum energy mode. In 1953 Metropolis created an algorithm in order to simulate the annealing process. The algorithm simulates a small random displacement of an atom that leads to a change in energy. If the change in energy is negative, the energy mode of the novel configuration is lower and the novel configuration is accepted. If the change in energy is positive, the novel configuration has a higher energy state; but, it may still be accepted based on the Boltzmann probability factor [103 104]: 2.21 where is the Boltzmann constant and denotes the current temperature. By examining this relation, we should note two things: the probability is proportional to temperature, as the solid cools, the probability gets smaller; and inversely proportional to , as the change in energy is larger the probability of accepting the changes gets smaller. By using the Archetypal Cycle of Human experience I will be able to explain the importance of each stage in the story A white Heron by Sarah Orne Jewett. The story A white Heron is about a nine year old girl named Sylvia. The author starts the cycle/framework by implying through the character s age that Sylvia has a certain innocence that only a young child early in life can possess. This is the first stage in the cycle of human experiences, the innocence stage. Sylvia had moved from the city to the country in order to live with her grandmother when she was eight years old. The man asked if Sylvia had seen a white heron, but she did not reply. The man said that he would pay ten dollars to anyone who could show him the location of the white heron s nest. Sylvia thought of all the treasures that she could buy with that wealth. This paragraph contains the third step in the cycle because of the range of emotions that she experienced and the choices she made. The third step is all about experiences, trial an error and temptations. Sylvia was no longer thinking/acting with a good heart; she had been taken control of by greed. The next day the man goes out in search for the white heron and Sylvia accompanied him. While they were looking for the heron the man gives Sylvia a jack knife. Sylvia starts to like the man because he is kind and sympathetic. Sylvia could not understand why he killed the birds that he liked so much. Sylvia has now started to develop certain feelings for the man. The man stayed the night again at the house and all that Sylvia could think about was climbing the pine tree to find the white heron so she could gain the man s approval of her. This paragraph is the fourth step in the cycle because of the internal emotions that she had created. The fourth step is death, psychologically or internally (what you believed about your standards). Meaning and Texture of the Seventh Poem in Leaves of Grass Walt Whitman s seventh poem in his work, Leaves of Grass, displays the subtlety with which the poet is able to manipulate the reader s emotions. In this poem there are no particular emotional images, but the overall image painted by word choice and use of sounds is quite profound. This poem, like many others written by Walt Whitman, is somewhat somber in mood, but not morose. It is serious, but not to the point of gloom. Strong adjectives illustrating his point are also prevalent in the poem. He writes, I.../Am around, tenacious, acquisitive, tireless.... He uses these words to merely illustrate the concept that the soul, or omnipotent being, is always there watching. These adjectives make the poem more descriptive, and they paint a more vivid picture in the reader s mind. Also, he chooses many words that have soft sounds with endings like ss, th, etc. These words include, pass, earth, birth, and many others. However, he then counterbalances these with harder sounding words like adjunct, immortal, and begetters. Even the words of the poem serve to illustrate his point of universal unity. The repetition in the poem also aids in understanding the overall message of the poem. He only says what he is and what, For me... the world is. The Red Room is about a young man who visits a castle and feels he must spend a night in a mysterious room that is suspected to be haunted. The Cone is about a woman having an affair with a man called Raut. The story is based around the husband who is called Horrocks seeing Raut with his wife. This is because it gives the reader an idea of the person so they can visualise it for themselves, but at the same time doesn t give the reader enough information which therefore makes the reader feel more involved in the book. For example, in The Cone it reads a silent grey, shadowy figure. This description is vague and so it doesn t give the reader a clear picture of the character, and therefore, this again creates tension because of the lack of description. In the case of The Red Room there is also a description of a man that possesses a withered arm. This is an uncommon feature in any person, even one as old as the one mentioned in the story. The reader would think that there must have been a reason why this old man has this feature and because the reason has not been explained to the reader, he or she will be compelled to read on to find out how the old man achieved this withered arm. Also I believe that the descriptions of major characters and settings would add to the tension and suspense as well. This is because in giving the reader a small but detailed description of the setting, it involves the reader more, therefore the reader feels more involved with the book and so tension is created a lot easier. Plato and the Republic Essay The Sun of Knowledge: Platonic Epistemology as Discussed in The Republic The history of philosophy can be viewed as the result of the work of an obscure Athenian whose voluminous works, penetrating questions, novel ideas, and didactic teachings have shaped the flow of nearly all philosophic thought. It has been said that the influence of the ancient Greek philosopher named Plato has laid the foundation for Western culture. Plato was born to an aristocratic family in Athens in 428/427 B.C. It is the purpose of this essay to give an analysis of Plato s theory of the cause of knowledge in the idea of the good through his illustration of the sun and determine how his theory relates to his question of justice. The Forms Plato in the Republic assumes the reader has an understanding of his doctrine of the forms, thus an introduction to his doctrine is imperative before a discussion of his illustration of the sun can begin. Plato was an idealist, meaning that ideas comprise what is ultimately real in this world. This is antithetical to his student Aristotle who held that material was ultimately real. The Renaissance painter Raphael illustrates these two contrasting positions in his famous painting The School of Athens. Raphael depicts Plato with his arm stretched out, pointing to the sky (implying that ideas are real), and Aristotle with his hand spread, pointing down to the earth (implying that material is real). For Plato, ideas, or forms, are intelligible, distinct, eternal patterns of which the objects on earth are mere reflections. Each object on earth has a corresponding form. For example, there is a single form of a chair, and all other chairs (whether three legged or four, metal or wood) are flawed copies of the ultimate, changeless form of the chair. Different merchants create better deals that cause relationships between the suppliers and their customers to the end. I wanted to explore those relationships and research the history of the supply chain . I wanted to know how things were ran and how they are able to sustain business when the economy changes. How supply chain management has evolved In the 1940s and 1950s, the focus of logistics research was on how to use mechanization (e.g., pallets and pallet lifts) to improve the very labor intensive processes of material handling and how to take better advantage of space using racking and better warehouse design and layout. The unit load concept gained popularity and the use of pallets became widespread. In the mid 1950s, this concept was extended to transportation management with the development of inter modal containers together with ships, trains, and trucks to handle these containers. By the 1960s, a clear trend had developed in shifting more time dependent freight transportation to truck rather than rail. This led to the need for joint consideration of warehousing, material handling, and freight transportation, which emerged under the label of Physical Distribution. At 11, Paterson went to Sydney Grammar School whilst his family was living in Gladesville. He left SCS at 16 after failing an examination. From 1885, he started having poetry published in Australian magazine, The Bulletin, where he first coined the pseudonym Banjo , the name of his favourite horse. In 1899, Paterson became a war correspondent for multiple newspapers, but in 1908, he decided to take a break from journalism writing and focus more on his poetry. In WWI, Paterson served as an ambulance driver and returned to Australia in 1919. His third collection of poetry, Saltbush Bill JP, was published soon after. Paterson died of a heart attack in 1941, just 12 days before his 77th birthday. 2. The Man from Snowy River tells the story of a horse that escapes from a ranch. The owner offers a lot of money to capture the prized possession and so many drovers set off to capture the horse. The drovers pursue the horse across the country, but are defeated by the rough terrain. Then the Man from Snowy River steps up and charges down the slope. He is lost to view by the rest of the group, but reappears later, tired and battered, with the horse trailing behind him. 3. The Man from Snowy River holds plenty of language devices that help capture the mood and setting of the poem. The old man with his hair as white as snow makes use of simile to help describe one of the men on a horse. The simile makes the line more interesting and less monotonous by showing what he looks like rather than straight out telling. The man is made out to be strong and fierce but the similarity of his hair and snow juxtaposes this power as snow is thought to be delicate and beautiful. Another technique is the metaphor And the stock horse snuffs the battle with delight. This hints that the drovers must be prepared for the dangerous job ahead of them, if ... • 40. Ida B Wells Argument For Lynchingnings In the late 19th century, lynchings were commonplace occurrences, especially in Southern states. The lynchings were publicized in newspaper ads and were so accepted that postcards showing pictures of the event were sold as souvenirs. Apologists claimed that the lynchings took place to punish criminals for their crimes and to protect white women from black aggressors. To counter the claims that resulted in these punishments, many activists, including Ida B. Wells, wrote speeches depicting the harsh and racist reality of lynchings. Despite the criticism of Wells and many other authors and activists, lynching persisted in the United States for a substantial period of time. Lynchings were so frequent in Southern states that Montgomery, Alabama, has plans to build a lynching memorial to recognize the mistreatment of black citizens and memorialize the victims. However, lynchings then were not the public disgrace they are now considered, and the unjust treatment of black citizens continued even after the Civil Rights Act of 1964. • 41. Strategic Performance Analysis Of Delta, Southwest, And... Introduction: Developing a strategic performance plan for a company is only the first step. The plan must then be implemented and after a short period of time it must then be evaluated. This evaluation is key in determining if the strategic plan is not only effective but also efficient. After being presented with yearly data for the top three competitors, Delta, Southwest, and United Airlines, of the US airline industry, it was my goal to develop comparative performance metrics to find out how if the companies strategies are efficient in a financial standpoint. While I calculated all of the required metrics, only a few stood out to me as useful when evaluating the companies. Some of the key performance metrics that I computed are revenue per employee, accounts receivable turnover, current ratio, and return on assets. Revenue per employee Revenue per employee is a calculation that allows you see if the company is effectively utilizing its resources and also what their level of productivity is. Revenue per employee and productivity share a positive relationship so the higher the output, the better. After calculating each company s revenue per employee during the fiscal years 2005 to 2012, I calculated the average to make an overall comparison of the three. Delta Airlines came out on top with the highest revenue per employee and United Airlines with a close second. This shows that these three companies are staying relatively competitive with their productivity. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, there is some part of the audience that does seek to communicate with experts, so it is possible that this type of interaction would increase participation (Wang, 2017). Power, despair, corruption, all are conceived by the ring of power, the one ring that s sole purpose is to bring evil to the world and destroy the race of man. In the epic novel The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien, the author uses the ring as a symbol of evil that corrupts almost every soul it encounters. Tolkien carefully uses the ring to symbolize how even the smallest objects can cause so much pain and death and bring fear to the hearts in Middle Earth (setting in the book). The ring lies in the heart of the story, giving temptation to almost every character it crosses or has crossed and even transforming once thought to be harmless folk into the most twisted and sinister villains. As an object of evil, the ring strives to destroy a person s free will and transform them into a host of evil. Tolkien states that the ring will corrupt whoever is in possession of it. This gives the idea of imprisonment for the soul purpose of fulfilling the rings goal, destruction. As Sméagol continues his obsession over the ring, it eats away at him and overpowers any individualism he once had. Tolkien creates the ring as the epitome of evilness to give it a mind of its own. With this symbolism, the ring is able to maneuver itself and corrupt whom it pleases. It takes on the evilness of the beholder and enhances their evil thoughts to the point in which evilness is the only thought that consumes them. As described by another hobbit, Frodo, the ring has an unwholesome power that sets to work on its keeper at once. In Sméagol s instance, the ring is able to take a strong hold of his soul with just a look at the bright and beautiful gold that it entails. Such evilness is personified by Tolkien because Tolkien sees it as something that takes action, not something that is acted upon. The power that the ring possesses eats away at him until he is an entire different creature. The ring destroys Sméagol and creates Gollum, an outcast and a murderer. It is past; I am returning to England. I have lost my hopes of utility and glory; I have lost my friend (Shelley, 160). Victor Frankenstein was in the eyes of Walton a person who is similar to him, but uplifted Walton s weary heart as he faced challenges along the expedition. He excites at once my admiration and my pity to an astonishing degree (Shelley, 11). Along with the thirst of discovery of the unknown, Victor Frankenstein is also involved in an act of romance towards Elizabeth Lavenza, who he loved dearly my more than sister, since till death she was to be mine only (Shelley, 18). Victor was raised in a loving household and was privileged to receive higher education at the university of Ingolstadt.
