Behaviorism contends that desired behavior from people is...
Behaviorism contends that desired behavior from people is formed by the actions and reactions of
other people rather than an individual s own free will. This means that by carefully and deliberately
shaping desirable behavior, morality and information is learned by individual, so important causes of,
and motivations for behavior lie outside, rather than within an individual. Therefore for behaviorists,
all learning is observable and measurable. Learning occurs in a behaviorist classroom as a result of
responses to stimuli in the environment that are usually reinforced by the teacher, as well as feedback
from actions on certain learning objects. The teacher helps the student learn through conditioning
them by explicitly identifying the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Feedback and response, which are inherent in behaviorism, can also be achieved because the online
teacher can post and send feedback and response which the student can work on accordingly. Students
remember and respond in behaviorism, and while students will be able to respond to the stimulus
provided, the long term effects of learning might be minimal if this is the only approach that will be
used in online learning.
Cognitivism or the cognitive learning theories came about in response to behaviorism. They thought
that overt behavior is not the only basis to explain learning. Instead, cognitive theorists believe that
learning is also an internal mental process. There are two assumptions about cognitivism and these
are: the memory is an active, organized processor of information and that prior knowledge is an
important part of learning.
The teacher in the cognitive approach builds intelligence and cognitive development because for the
cognitivist, the individual learner and his/her active processes are of utmost importance. The
information processing model and the multi store model of memory were both borne out of the
theories of cognitive learning. In the classroom, educators can utilize this into an instructional model
called phases of learning. Developed by Gagne, this model parallels

The perception of wine being upmarket and sophisticated is helping in bringing about this change.
One sign of this happening is the emergence of wine clubs in a number of cities. The biggest
consumption of wine (up to 80%) is confined to the major cities, of which the largest are Mumbai
(39%), Delhi (23%), Bangalore (9%) and the foreign tourist
3
dominated market of Goa (9%). With the easing of quantitative restrictions on wines after April 1,
2001, there has been an increasing interest in the Indian market by international players. However the
import duties and state taxes (which will be discussed later in more detail) remain high. They continue
to be a major impediment to the foreign entrants into the Indian market. Local Industry: Maharashtra,
Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh (a recent entrant) are the three major wine producing regions in
India. Maharashtra, on the western coast of India, is the major wine producing region, accounting for
94% of the total wine produced in the country. According to the Department of Wine Production of the
Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), the wine producing region is spread over
30,000 hectares, covering 64 wineries. During the year 2007/08 Maharashtra registered a massive
growth in wine production to 21.1 million litres against 13.2 million litres in 2006/07. This was a
growth of 60% over the previous year

John Searles Summary
Searles argues with his main concept of the Chinese Room, an experiment Prove his main claim that
Strong AI must be actually a real (human) brain to work. I will argue against this to show StrongAi
can be possible as long it starts to create rules and not responses. (Words 49) Artificial Inelegance
topic has captivated the minds of researches and common people alike. The use of AI comes into
being as to try to understand our own brain and create a thinking machine. To begin the topic, one
must explain of john Searles arguments against what he calls StrongAI. Searles creates a distinction
between Strong Ai and Weak AI. While he has no issue with Weak Ai which is the idea of computers
that assist us in crunching numbers based on our inputs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To go full circle on the first point we decided that machines must take into account the concept of
making rules and reflecting on past rules. The second point was to see how thinking and self
awareness is achieved at the height of the process of rulemaking. The concept of language and
symbols Searles is very important as an example as it sheds light on why machines can t ever be
human even with human brains as Searles claim they need to be a theoretical StrongAI. Language was
created by mapping things and association of learned objects. To truly learn a language we have to
understand and experience what it stands for. Language is an expression of results based on tests on
objects that are now definable. It is a shortcut for learning information. Therefore it s important that AI
does more than think in a correct pattern as our experience of inputs comes from our interactions with
one another and what we learn from language and not on our own in solitude. The man the Chinese
Room cannot have those things and therefore cannot learn a language in the method he is prescribed.
This wraps in the thoughts of the second point as well to feel self aware we identify ourselves in
relation to other people. This shows our society is also one big brain that is made up of variety of
rooms or people in this case all making decisions and rules for their

Understanding Organisations and the Role of Hr Essay
Information Sheet
Main Products and Services of the Organisation
East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS) provides emergency 999, urgent care and
patient transport services for 4.8 million people within the six counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire,
Rutland, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.
Main Customers
Our main customers are members of the public calling 999 emergency services. In addition we have a
Patient Transport Service (PTS) who undertake journeys to and from routine health appointments.
Purpose and Goals of the Organisation
All NHS ambulance services must respond to 75% of Category A emergency calls (the most serious
and life threatening) within 8 minutes. Within 19 minutes 95% of ... Show more content on

This has seen EMAS move from transporting patients to the healthcare provider, into a service that
takes healthcare to the patient within the community (EMAS 2011).
Reconfiguration within the service is a further external factor. EMAS has been influenced by the
merger in 1999 and 2006 of six previous ambulance services into the East Midlands. Over recent
years, we have seen a shift from traditional command and control cultures of the former organisations,
to localised, empowered management teams working within the heart of their communities.
Becoming an NHS Foundation Trust is an external factor that is already having a major impact. An
NHS Foundation Trust is a new form of NHS organisation with greater freedom from Government
control so that it can better meet the needs of local communities. We are currently developing our
application. NHS Foundation Trust status will provide the freedom to invest surplus funds. We will be
able to plan for a longer period, 5 years plus so we can be more confident in how we will develop.

Essay On Trump Move To End Daca And Calls On Congress To Act
Trump Moves to End DACA and Calls on Congress to Act
On September 5, 2017, Michael D. Shear and Julie Hirschfeld Davis wrote the article, Trump Moves
to End DACA and Calls on Congress to Act. On this day, President Donald Trump said that he would
be putting an end to the DACA Program that was created during Barack Obama s Presidency.
President Trump is now discussing the issue of revoking DACA due to his early comments in the
election about immigration laws, The announcement was an effort by Mr. Trump to honor the law and
order message of his campaign, which included a repeated pledge to end Mr. Obama s immigration
policy, while seeking to avoid the emotionally charged and politically perilous consequences of
targeting a sympathetic group ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The authors are able to avoid logical fallacies by only giving out the needed information and quoting
necessary people. Overall, the article gives accurate information that readers will find necessary about
what President Trump wants to do with the DACA program.
The authors are able to incorporate both stances on the DACA issue, by doing this, they are able to
prevent strong or discernible biases of the topic. Shear and Davis included both stances by quoting
opposing people s opinions. For example, they quoted President Donald Trump, who intends to revoke
DACA, he says that the reason for his concern about DACA is, the millions of Americans victimized
by this unfair job system. But the authors also quote former President Barack Obama, who helped
create the DACA program, when he heard of Trump s plan he stated, Whatever concerns or complaints
Americans may have about immigration in general, we shouldn t threaten the future of this group of
young people who are here through no fault of their own, who pose no threat, who are not taking away
anything from the rest of us. The quotes are able to give the reader an unbiased perspective of the
topic. Criticism is only shown in the article when the authors quote other people, either criticizing
DACA or criticizing the people trying to revoke it. Donald Trump and Jeff Sessions criticize DACA,
but Mark Zuckerberg, Marielena Hincapie, and

The Battle At Prairie Grove
During the Civil War, the North and South fought hard for control over northwest Arkansas. On
December 7, 1862, the Confederate Army of the Trans Mississippi tangled with the Union Army of the
Frontier at Prairie Grove located in Washington County, Arkansas. By nightfall, it was clear to the
Confederates that Missouri and northwest Arkansas would remain under Federal protection (Teacher
Guide 4). The battle at Prairie Grove was a brutal day of strategic warfare between the northern and
southern armies that had great affect on the lives of the people living there. Under Major General John
Schofield s Union command were Brig. Generals James G. Blunt of the Kansas Division and Francis
Jay Herron of the 2nd and 3rd Divisions. Their troops ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While many Arkansans had followed Van Dorn to Tennessee, others had deserted their positions and
fled back to their homes to protect their families (Whayne, et al. 198 199). Confederate authorities
appointed Thomas Hindman, a veteran of the Mexican War, to replace Van Dorn s command over
Arkansas. A great organizer, recruiter, and administrator (Whayne, et al. 201), Hindman was prepared
to use any means necessary to ramp up the number of men serving in Arkansas. [Fanatically devoted]
to the Confederacy, Hindman declared, I have come to drive out the invaders or perish in the attempt
(Whayne, et al. 198). He assumed his command with a dictatorial [power] by establishing supply
factories, enforcing conscription laws, and declaring martial law over Arkansas (Whayne, et al. 198).
In addition, Hindman employed the use of guerrilla warfare to harass the enemy and raid their supply
lines. Many of these guerillas were not legally bound to protect their state and acted against
Confederate commands. Instead, many were armed bandits and ruffians who had personal grudges to
settle with anyone of their choosing. Regardless of political affiliation, many citizens in Arkansas
would find themselves living in a state of anarchy. Although Arkansas was a Confederate state, many
citizens were divided in their politics, but this mattered nothing to the bands of guerillas that would
continuously contribute to the breakdown of the state for

Hitler s Effect On The German People And Nazi Rule
Nazi Germany Essay INTRODUCTION discuss the question and what you are going to talk about in
your essay
From 1933 1938 life in Germany was worse for people because of the way that Hitler abused the
power he had been given. Not only did he abuse the power but the people of Germany themselves. At
the same time, there were also some positives in the way that Hitler ran things. He completely
abolished unemployment rates, and gave the German people a sense of pride again. The key aspects of
Adolf Hitler s rule on Germany when he came into power were the separation of certain people such
as communists, Jews and disable or handicapped people from the pure Germans. Hitler s rule had
several effects in the German people and their country. Hitler was very aware of things and therefore
he knew what the people wanted and the things he needed to promise to them in order to be selected
for the position of chancellor. This caused both positive and negative effects on the German people
and Hitler s Nazi rule. The Weimar Republic know as the makeshift democracy was set up as an
emergency solution to assist with the diminishing of the post war effects on the Germany society and
population. The Government was unstable due to it having to face the harshest social, economic and
political issues of Germany. The reason why the Weimar Republic was out ruled was because they
gave too much power to the states and the army.

School Shootings Throughout the United States
Recently there have been many school shootings throughout the United States and the world. Most of
these shooting were all connected with the shooter being on anti depressant medications. In an article
called Medicated to death: by SSRI s and mass killings by Lisa Arbercheski, she writes that SSRI s are
linked to the cause of most shootings. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI) is one of the
most popular medications taken for depression in many countries. Some are known by their popular
names like Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, and Paxil. These medications have many tests done and none of
them prove that they cure depression or mood swings. Could these medications be connected to some
of the most recent shootings like the one in Newton, Connecticut? The case is that these medications
are causing adolescents to go on suicidal rampage shootings and the United States is trying to play it
off like the medications have no connection. Many of these young people committing these crimes are
doing it because there is some type of rejection in their life. Doctors try to alleviate there symptoms by
giving them higher doses of medication making it worse. In the article by Arbercheski she describes a
shooting on December of 2000 when Micheal McDermott went on a shooting rampage at his
workplace. It was determined during his trial that he had increased his antidepressant medication,
Prozac, from 70 milligrams to 210 milligrams per day. There was also two other recent cases where

Leadership In The Black Community
Has the black community ever had a black leader or leaders? In 2015 I feel the black community
needs leaders to guide us to a higher place in society in the 2nd millennium. But first the black
community need to understand what a true leader is and how to embrace a true leader. Also The Black
community has to understand what previous leaders have done for us in the past to continue to push
the envelope further for us to have opportunities we have now. 2015 is the year we try to get a council
of new leaders to help the black community in areas we are lacking due the fact we are not being well

The civil right movement had a lot of influential and brilliant leaders from this time like Martin Luther
King, Malcolm X, Rosa Park, Muhammad Ali, Web Dubois, and The Black Panther Party. The main
game changer were Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and The Black Panther Party. Martin Luther king
(MLK) was a minister, humanitarian, and activist is considered to be the leader of the civil movement.
MLK has also had a lot accomplishments, he won a Nobel peace prize at the age of 35 in 1964. He
was also given fifty honorary degrees from various colleges. Malcolm X was an American Muslin
minister and a human right activist, who was more with the ideal of violence. While he was in prison
he read a series of books which could he learned him a vary of degrees from the top school in
America. MLK had a way of getting black people involved his in risky and threating marches with no
violence. Cops would do brutal act to stop these powerful marches like spray our people with water
hoses, drenching their cloths and belittling them. MLK leadership was proven when he led one of his
most powerful marches in Montgomery, Alabama in 1955 when he fought for Rosa Parks right; Rosa
Parks was asked by a white man to get up in go to the back of the bus and she just refuse to do that so
she stay seated still the police came and arrested her. MLK did everything in power to get her out
which ended up getting him spray by hoses and arrested proven his leadership to the community.
Malcolm X was strong leader he prove this once he became leader of the Nation of Islam. In the 1960
he would defense blacks as a whole when he had debate with whites about politics in the black
community, he would answer there question with witty answers which many considered arrogant. He
led the Civil Right Movement biggest unity rally in Harlem; that was a great thing

The Pros And Cons Of Altruism
Imagine yourself stumbling upon a horrendous scene. A young woman is seen sprawled on the ground,
her face is bloodied and bruised, and her right leg is twisted at a grotesque angle, evidently broken.
What would you do? Obviously, you help. But why would you help? Undoubtedly, you wanted to
alleviate her distress. But why? Helping others in need and having the urge of wanting to help
somebody who is in need is something that happens at least once in everybody s life. It is a common
thing that even animals help one another mutually, though they expect to gain something in return. But
in some circumstances, helping somebody is not connected to receiving immediate benefits or these
are considered non existent. This prosocial behaviour has caught ... Show more content on

Numeral studies have shown how individuals would help a family member, relative, or someone they
can mirror themselves with, rather than somebody that they have no relation to or does not have a
connection with. (Rushton, 1991) It is fathomable how helping a family, relative or somebody we are
more attached to is a normal reaction. But it is incomprehensible to explain when humans show
compassion towards complete strangers. This altruistic behaviour seemingly suggests that true
altruism could undeniably exist.
Empathy Altruism Model argues that altruism does exist and explains why people help others even
though they are not related. The Empathy Altruism Model, is established on the idea that emotional
response of empathy is produced when an individual is seen to be in need. It could be argued that the
individual feels empathy for the other person who is in need, and being able to feel and take into
consideration of another s feelings, directs the helping behaviour at relieving the person who is in need
and therefore altruism is produced by altruistic reasons . (Cialdini, Brown, Lewis, Luce, Neuberg,

Pros And Cons Rea Essay
With any criminal offence there are two elements to the crime; the Mens Rea and the Actus Reus.
The Mens Rea element is the mental part of the crime and requires proof that the defendant was in a
guilty state of mind before the defendant can be convicted of a crime. There are three different types
of Mens Rea; direct and oblique intention, recklessness and negligence. Intention is differs from
motive or desire. For example if defendant kills their wife who is suffering from a terminal illness, to
relieve their suffering, may well act out of good motives. Nevertheless, this does not prevent them
having the necessary intention to kill. Cases which demonstrate intention include R v Moloney [1985]
AC 905 and R v Inglis [2011] 1 WLR 1110. Direct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following the case R v Cunningham [1957] 2 QB 396, reckless was put into question if the defendant
foresee the harm that in fact occurred, might occur from his actions, but continue regardless of the
risk. There are two different types of tests for reckless, subjective test and objective test. The difficulty
with a subjective test is that it is based entirely on the defendant s state of mind and it is for the
prosecution to prove that the defendant did anticipate the potential of harm.
Negligence is consequences caused by the actions of a person that fell below the standard of a
reasonable person. Negligence plays a minor role in criminal liability. It used to form the basis of
some driving offences but this has largely been superseded by recklessness. Cases for negligence
include R v Adomako [1994] 3 WLR 288, where an anaesthetist was charged with gross negligence
manslaughter after they failed to notice the oxygen pipe had been disconnected.
An Actus Reus consists of more than just an act. It also consists of whatever circumstances and
consequences are recognised for accountability for the offence in question, therefore all the elements
of an offence other than the Mens

Relative Formula Mass Scientific Method
What is meant by Relative Formula Mass (RFM)?
Relative Formula Mass is the scientific measurement that is used to measure the mass of one atom of
an element. Carbon is the standard atom for RFM, Carbon has a relative atomic mass (Ar) of 12.
How is Relative Formula Mass calculated?
Relative Formula Mass is calculated in a compound by adding up the numbers of atoms in the formula
and using the relative mass of each atom to calculate the total mass for each element and add up the
total mass of the compound to get the RFM. RFM uses relative atomic mass (Ar) to calculate mass. To
Wouk out the RFM of sodium hydroxide (NaOH), the relative atomic masses of the elements in this
compound are Hydrogen = 1, Sodium = 23, Oxygen = 16 to work out the RFM these masses must be
added together such as; 1 + 23 +16 = 40 RFM.
How to work out moles using Relative Formula Mass:
To work out Relative Formula Mass of moles (Mr) add together the relative atomic mass from all the
atoms in the chemical formula. The molar mass of a substance is the RFM in grams (g/mol).
How the molarity of the standard solution (the alkali) was determined so it could be prepared

people). Unfortunately, gypsies do not have their own country, they move from country to country in
order, to find a better life or weak rich people. There are many facts about, that they practice dark
magic, drugs, human trafficking and to name a few. Also, traditional gypsy has strict guidelines for the
way women dress, and how they act around the men. The Gypsy Romani law is a strict series of laws

Analysis Of The Book James Hewitt Essay
James W Hewitt is the author of this book. He is president of the Friends of the Center for Great
Plains Studies. This story was published in 2015 by the Board of Regents of the University of
Nebraska. James W Hewitt returns to McCook, Nebraska to see the scene of the crime that scared the
small town of McCook. In the story it talked about a love triangle that involved Kay Hoyt, Harold
Nokes, and his wife Ena Nokes. Kay is the daughter of Edwin and Wilma Hoyt. Kay had some
difficulties in her life. She has been looked as the black sheep of the family. She was the only child of
Edwin and Wilma who was divorce and now she is a single mother of two daughters. When this story
took place was in the year 1973 and at that point divorces were not common as they are today. The
people in the community will see them in shame around that time period. Kay s brother and sisters did
not approve of the way their parents are always turning the other side when it involved Kay s
problems that she caused on herself. Kay and Harold had an affair that has been going on for many
years. Ena was also involved in that affair and she didn t care about it. After a while Kay realized that
she didn t want to be involved in that type of relationship any more. She wanted to do for her parents.
Her father Edwin did not really like the fact that Kay was getting involved with Harold. Edwin

Three Ways To Facilitate A Child s Development In Child...
1) In class, we have discussed many ways in which children develop language skills. Give me THREE
ways in which an adult can facilitate a child s language acquisition (acquire new and increase
language vocabulary).
There are many ways which an adult can facilitate a child s language acquisition (acquire new and
increase language vocabulary). Here is some of them:
1. Engaging in conversations with children.
Communication is the first and most accessible way to facilitate child s language acquisition and
increasing language vocabulary.

Effect Of Witchcraft On Europe
The effect of Witchcraft accusations on Europe in the middle Ages Witches, are they real or fake? That
question continues to be asked today. However, in the Middle Ages, a time period blurred by war,
religious incursions, and disease, witches may have or may have not have existed, but something that
was just as bad if not worse did. Witchcraft accusations. Witchcraft accusations unleashed a whole
host of new problems such as: rampant persecution and paranoia, and the death of hundreds of
thousands of innocent people, and the use of politics rather than religion when they so often went hand
in hand.
The witchcraft accusations and the first witchcraft trials, begin with the Spanish Inquisition which was
started by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella (Spanish Inquisition). The Spanish Inquisition began in
1478 after it was approved by Pope Sixtux IV (Spanish Inquisition History of the Spanish Inquisition).
Although it was suspended by various kings and queens throughout the years, the Inquisition did not
officially end until 1834 (Ryan). The purpose of the inquisition was to try to unite the country under
one faith by forcing out anyone who did not believe or practice completely, the Catholic faith.
However, it was The Basque Witch Trials that went from 1609 1614 that was the greatest effort to get
rid of heretics or witches (Mastin). The inquisition was a political stunt because they turned hostile
towards other religions. Much like modern day politics. For example, gay

Example Of Educational Stratification
Beginning with the definition of stratification as the classification of different social units into classes,
I think the recognition of stratification in our lives is vitally important to be successful. This allows us
to thrive off the successes that result from different types of stratification to learning from our
mistakes and consequences from the disadvantages of stratification. Three examples of stratification
have personally played a major role in the development of my life and who I am today. From the good
to the bad, these examples opened opportunities for me while also teaching me valuable life lessons
from the consequences of stratification. The first example is educational stratification and how a
private school has impacted my life. The second example is being born into the family that I have
today and how their social class has influenced my life. The final example is growing up and living in
the environment and household I did and how that has played a role in my life.
One type of stratification that has influenced my life is educational stratification. I have been very
fortunate to be brought up in a house that gave me the opportunity to experience this. All my life I
have attended private schools because my parents wanted me to have the best quality education
possible. In their eyes, private schooling was the answer. Attending private school, this allowed me to
be exposed to many activities offered at the school from extracurricular activities to being

Children s Health Care
Children s Health Insurance Program Introduction: The Children s Health Insurance program (CHIP)

impact on children s health, providing access to preventative care such as dental and healthcare

enrolled with CHIP are eligible for routine check ups, dental care, hospital care, and other services

The uninsured children s population has decreased because of expansion of eligibility and easy

children, in which they became successful. This government program provided roughly 42 million
children with access to health care providers. Being enrolled with CHIP created a healthier lifestyle
for children, and helped them receive the proper care in order to stay healthy. Preventative care also
has a substantial growth with children keeping them away from possible diseases and illnesses that
can affect their health. CHIP will continue to provide care for the uninsured children and amplify their

Gender Wage Gap And Gender Inequality
Throughout history, discrimination has wielded its ugly head in many different forms. Things such as,
but not limited to, race, religion, appearance, beliefs and gender have consistently oppressed
minorities. A continual discrimination that the women of the world are dealing with takes place in
what has been promised to be a fair and unprejudiced environment: the work place. This issue deals
with women not being paid the same amount of money as men even though they may be equally, if
not more so, trained, educated and qualified for jobs. This historically stems from women being the
traditional caregivers or homemakers while men tended to be the breadwinners of the household. This
difference in pay based on gender is called the Gender Wage Gap. The Gender Wage Gap is the
difference in working pay earned by men and then working pay earned by women. The conventional
way to look at the gender wage gap is to compare full time salaries earned by both of the genders. Up
until the 1950 s, it was accepted that men and women were paid different amounts of money. Women
were thought not to need to be paid as much as their male counterparts because they were not the
breadwinners of the family. In the 1960 s, this all changed because people and unions from all across
the country fought hard for the Equal Pay legislation. It is now part of the Canadian Human Rights
act. Canadian law now requires employers to pay men and women the same pay for the same job and
this is called pay

The Battle of Pearl Harbor Cause and Effects
On Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, at 7:55 AM the Japanese Empire led a surprise attack on the
US Naval base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, that would leave millions of Americans in shock, and
heartbroken. Before the attack, the United States kept a low profile on International affairs, and
concentrated on the domestic affairs at hand. This tragic moment in American history forever

In 1940, the United States was extremely against this animosity and reacted with trade embargoes and
monetary approvals. FDR had talked with the Dutch and the British to see if they would agree upon
embargoes on Japan. Franklin Delano Roosevelt did not want a conflict in the pacific as the United
States was not prepared for war. For instance, the oil embargo that was organized between the British,
the Dutch, and the United States was about 90% of Japan s imported oil. [3] This upset Japan because
without oil or fuel their military and war efforts would come to a complete stop.
Beginning of the year in 1941, FDR decided that the Pacific Fleet would move to Hawaii from San
Diego in the hopes of discouraging the invasion of the Japanese. Negotiations between Washington
and Tokyo had been going on for several months without a resolution. On July 2, 1941, the Imperial
High Command was tired of negotiations with the United States and needed to proceed with their
development within Asia even with the embargo in place and meaning it would be at a high risk of
war with the US. [4] Therefore, the Japanese had deceived the United States, ignored the arbitration,
and moved forward with their plans. The United States had hoped that this restrictive embargo would
halt Japan s assault as negotiations had continued well into November.
Instead of giving into the United States demands, the Japanese had decided to finally put their surprise

Google s Data Mining Protocol
The corporate giant that is known as Google specializes in Internet related services and products
including advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, and software. Something that most
consumers don t know is that every Google search ever performed is stored within its giant servers.
That data is then cross linked to anything and everything Google is affiliated with, from YouTube to
Google Maps. With all that information, Google can pinpoint where someone lives, his or her hobbies,
age, health conditions, religion, and so forth. Some users are becoming wary about whether or not the
search engine giant has gone too far in its attempts to gather user data by calling it an invasion of
privacy and illegal wiretapping. Google s data mining protocol has recently been a hot topic in terms
of security and use but the benefits of allowing the data mining to occur outweigh the privacy
concerns.
Gmail was launched on April Fools Day in 2004. Its origins stems from mid 2001 when Google
engineer Paul Buchheit started working on a web email project that would introduce several
innovations that would end up having a transformative effect on the whole category (Gould). The first
differentiation strategy that Gmail had from competitors like Hotmail and Microsoft s Outlook was to
utilize Google s greatest asset of search power. With search power came the provision of a massive
one gigabyte of storage space with further upgrades to the incredible fifteen gigabytes that we see
today.

The Importance Of User Experience
User experience was something I knew of before but never fully understood. Since it s such a large
field where things are constantly changing and evolving, it can be difficult to keep up with the current
events as a new explorer. Fortunately, there are many resources out there that help people do just that.
Between the three sites I explored in greater depth, uxdesign.cc had the most content centred interface
and I found myself getting distracted reading up about other topics that had caught my attention.
However, the graphics were uncomfortably large on my laptop and led me to wonder if it was instead
a mobile site, which I confirmed by accessing it on my phone. From there, I found an article

This method has been dubbed confirm shaming , when the text in the options displayed guilt trip the
user into choosing what the developer wants them to choose, leveraging guilt rather than empathy and
working in opposition to user centred design. I have personally experienced such scripts and declined
the offers out of spite because I felt irritated, leaving me with a negative impression of the site. Based
on these interactions, I have developed strong feelings against copy like that, and I was pleased to find
that this article said as much for users response to it. Such arrogance in design can be detrimental to
the user experience. Jason Fox (2017) describes narcissism in writing as times when preference is
given to a strategy, technique, or style that aligns with personal preference rather than what actually
works with a given audience (para. 9). When the designer is manipulating the user, it becomes
designer centred design, which is useless in all senses because digital designers are designing for users
and their needs, not themselves. However, there is a positive side to copy with attitude. Innovating on
states of error where a query returns no data helps create a memorable and lasting first impression of a
user s experience with a site (Fox, 2017,

The Conservatives did more than the Liberal Party to advance the cause of reform in the period 1866
to 1885 Explain why you agree or disagree with this statement. During the period from 1866 until
1885 the electorate widened significantly from 1.3 million voters to 5.5 million. There were many
factors in the rising demand for Parliamentary reform such as; an increasing population, internal
migration, Radical and Trade Union campaigns, American Civil War, an economic depression and the
visit of Garibaldi. Alongside the extension of the franchise the political voting system became far less
corrupt and therefore results were a better representation of the people s beliefs. The Conservative and

especially in Ireland, but not completely as there were ways of buying votes e.g. buying a beer.

The Confessions of Nat Turner Essay
The Confessions of Nat Turner
Throughout history people have published articles and books in order to sway the public to their side.
Rulers such as Stalin and Mao used propaganda to keep themselves in power; people such as Thomas
Paine used articles in order to start revolution. Thomas R. Gray, author of The Confessions of Nat
Turner, had that power when he interviewed Turner. Although The Confessions of Nat Turner is
supposedly the words of Turner himself, we have no way to confirm that Gray did not show the
information in order to gain greater benefit from it. It is known that the interviewer, Thomas R. Gray,
was struggling financially. It is possible that he embellished the story in order to ... Show more content

It is more likely that Gray just jotted down notes, bits and pieces, of what Turner actually conveyed to
him. After the interview, when Gray was writing the final article for publishing, he put it in words that
Turner did not actually say. For example, As we approached the house we discovered Mr. Richard
Whitehead standing in the cotton patch, near the lane fence; we called him over into the lane, and
Will, the executioner, was near at hand, with his fatal axe, to send him to an untimely grave. [1] It is
unlikely that Turner used those exact words. Turner taught himself how to read and write. He might
have had an extensive vocabulary but it is unlikely that he used those exact words. It is more likely
that when Gray was filling in the empty spots he did so in his own words, and even sometimes with
vocabulary that made Turner into a mad genius. Gray most likely did this so that it would increase the
shock value of the story; a better story made for a greater audience, hence more money.
Another possibility is that Gray might have changed the interview in order to get the reading public to
adhere to his views on African Americans. Gray was known to have had many slaves at one time in
his life. He found

Adam Has Suffered Under Tort Law Essay
) First and foremost, in order for us to claim for the psychiatric damage that Adam has suffered under
tort law, we will have to prove that Adam is either a primary victim or a secondary victim and Adam is
suffered from a recognised psychiatric illness, anxiety and stress will generally not sufficient. Primary
victims are those who directly involved in the event and secondary victims are those who are suffered
a psychiatric illness when someone they know is killed or injured in an accident. A recognised
psychiatric condition is defined as a genuine illness or injury, needed medical evidence and has a long
term effect. Adam might claim as a primary victim in this case, because a primary victim has to suffer
physical injury or at a risk of physical injury and psychiatric injuries. The liability of causing
psychiatric injury depends on foreseeability of physical injury, for example, in the case of Page v
Smith where Mr Page suffered no physical injury but a recurrence of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and
became unable to work, Smith is liable as he could reasonably foresee that Mr Page suffer physical
injury. Adam could claim as a primary victim if Adam is in the zone of physical danger, I firmly
believe that Adam was in the zone of danger at that time because he was seated in the row of the seat
immediately behind their children and the risk of physical injury of Adam was also foreseeable,
therefore, Adam owed a duty of care in relation to psychiatric damage. Besides, the

Importance Of The Charter Of Rights And Freedoms
The Charter, or formally known as The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, is one part of the Canadian
constitution. The Charter details the rights and freedoms that Canadians believe are necessary in a
democratic society. Rights and freedoms such as the Freedom of Expression, Aboriginal Peoples
Rights, The Right to Equality, Including the Equality of Men and Women; are set in place to protect
those who may be opposed to prejudice due to possible stigma attached to such topics. The Charter
was created by a committee of Canadian Parliamentarians and was signed by Queen Elizabeth II in
Ottawa when it officially came into effect on April 17th, 1982 as part of the Constitution Act. The
Constitution contains the main, underlying rules that every law in Canada must abide by. The Charter
specifically was created to quote unify Canadians around a set principles that embody those rights. In
non formal terms, it protects Canadians human rights from being violated in both federal, provincial
and territorial laws. If your human rights were violated, you can challenge it in a court of law. If the
court agrees with you, three outcomes can arise. First, you can ask the court for any remedy or
compensation that is appropriate. Second, if the rights were violated during an investigation, you may
ask the court to remove the evidence from being valid. Lastly, if the court finds that a law or section of
a law violates a persons Charter rights, they can make an order that the law be revoked.

Difference Between 16th And 17th Century Courtship
The 16th and 17th Century Laws On Love. The 16th and 17th century society had parents connected

16th and 17th century many things were different from how they are today, especially marriage and
courtship. Back then parents had entire control over the courtship. A courtship back in the day looked
very different from anything we have now. In the 16th and 17th century s normal marriage in England
followed the Elizabethan Church wedding rules. Also it s the exact kind of wedding William
Shakespeare had. Today s relationships and marriages are completely different than those of the 16th

In the 16th and 17th century parents had control over the courtship and marriage of their children.
Parents power over their children related even in courtships. Marriage of the children looked to the

Greek Culture And Location
Cultures from around the world vary greatly based on the locations. Which draws up the question why
culture differs from location to location? The first factor that influences culture and how they are
formed and developed is their geological factors. The first example that comes to mind when
considering how geography effects how culture forms, is the Greek peninsula. From the start of
ancient times, Greece was in a way, isolated from the rest of the mainland and separated into city
states because of the mountainous landscape that is Greece. The difference in culture between Athens,
and Sparta in ancient times was drastic, while being less than 200 miles apart from each other. Athens
was a city of democracy, and learning. While Sparta was a militaristic, ... Show more content on

Another reason why cultures tend to diff from location is the resources they have access to. This
would essentially be quite similar to how the Native Americans developed and grew corn as their cash
crop and eventually passed that onto the settlers that came from Europe. Due to their environment
being perfectly suited to grow corn, they were a society that revolved around growing the crop to use
as food, and trade with other tribes for furs. Another example of this would be the spice islands of
Indonesia. They had access to spices that many other nations did not, which gave them an advantage
and forced them to develop around the spices they had. Cultures change across time because they have
no choice. During imperialistic times of nations such as Britain and the United States, they essentially
forced their culture onto nations in Africa and Asia. Cultures in Africa sort of assimilated pieces of
British culture because of the exposure they had experienced. Ideologies change often due to civil
movements that bring light to ideas that weren t thought

Importance Of Human Factors In Aviation
Introduction Human factors is the study of Human behaviour that has roughly been around for 2000
years. The study is based on how Humans behave physically and psychologically. In Aviation, human
factors have been applied since the last 70 years. The definition of human factors from the point of
aviation, means the same but in respect to the ergonomics of technology and the flight crew, within the
aircraft. The information is then converted into training, procedures and systemizing routines of the
flight crew simply in order for the safety and for the wellbeing of the crew and the society. Crew
health and lifestyle is essential when it comes to the wellbeing and the performance is vital to its
limitations, throughout the journey of the aircraft. When spoken about the word safety, it is often

the freedom from any dangers. It is a word that people should take seriously and should be a preaching
word to change any ill practises. In the world of Aviation where mishaps would occur at any given
moment, the educated personnel are taught not to ever rely on luck, when it comes to safety. It all
comes down to the welfare of the individual, the welfare of the company that associates with the

one of the deadliest hurricanes that ever hit the United States. It hit a couple of cities, but it hit the city
of New Orleans, Louisiana the hardest. New Orleans was very popular for tourists before Katrina hit,

levees and canals has turned thousands of square miles of wetland habitat into open water. This video
from NOVA science NOW explores the importance of these critical habitats and examines the damage
Hurricane Katrina caused to one stretch of Louisiana wetland (History 2010).
The hurricane caused destruction in wildlife, as well as habitats. The winds were so strong that it tore

Analysis of Vindication of the Rights for Women by Mary...
A wise man once said Man is only great when he acts from passion. When you hear the word passion,
the first thing that might come to your mind is something related to love, and you re not entirely
wrong. According to Merriam Webster s dictionary, passion is defined as a strong feeling of
enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something or a strong feeling (such as anger)

sensitive sex prevails. Both men and women, live their lives believing that women are weak minded.
At an early age society teaches that a woman s mind is weaker than a man s mind, justifying it with
the fact that a woman s body is weaker than that of a man s. This conclusion seems fully plausible,
however if investigated further, one will find that that is not the case. A woman s mind is as fully
capable of reason as a man s mind. Wollstonecraft had two options to pick from. Either start a
revolution in regards to women rights and allowing them to be equal or to skillfully inject the

Students remember and respond in behaviorism, and while students will be able to respond to the stimulus provided, the long term effects of learning might be minimal if this is the only approach that will be used in online learning. Cognitivism or the cognitive learning theories came about in response to behaviorism. They thought that overt behavior is not the only basis to explain learning. Instead, cognitive theorists believe that learning is also an internal mental process. There are two assumptions about cognitivism and these are: the memory is an active, organized processor of information and that prior knowledge is an important part of learning. The teacher in the cognitive approach builds intelligence and cognitive development because for the cognitivist, the individual learner and his/her active processes are of utmost importance. The information processing model and the multi store model of memory were both borne out of the theories of cognitive learning. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The perception of wine being upmarket and sophisticated is helping in bringing about this change. One sign of this happening is the emergence of wine clubs in a number of cities. The biggest consumption of wine (up to 80%) is confined to the major cities, of which the largest are Mumbai (39%), Delhi (23%), Bangalore (9%) and the foreign tourist 3 dominated market of Goa (9%). With the easing of quantitative restrictions on wines after April 1, 2001, there has been an increasing interest in the Indian market by international players. However the import duties and state taxes (which will be discussed later in more detail) remain high. They continue to be a major impediment to the foreign entrants into the Indian market. Local Industry: Maharashtra, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh (a recent entrant) are the three major wine producing regions in India. Maharashtra, on the western coast of India, is the major wine producing region, accounting for 94% of the total wine produced in the country. According to the Department of Wine Production of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), the wine producing region is spread over 30,000 hectares, covering 64 wineries. During the year 2007/08 Maharashtra registered a massive growth in wine production to 21.1 million litres against 13.2 million litres in 2006/07. This was a growth of 60% over the previous year ... The use of AI comes into being as to try to understand our own brain and create a thinking machine. To begin the topic, one must explain of john Searles arguments against what he calls StrongAI. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To go full circle on the first point we decided that machines must take into account the concept of making rules and reflecting on past rules. The second point was to see how thinking and self awareness is achieved at the height of the process of rulemaking. The concept of language and symbols Searles is very important as an example as it sheds light on why machines can t ever be human even with human brains as Searles claim they need to be a theoretical StrongAI. Language was created by mapping things and association of learned objects. To truly learn a language we have to understand and experience what it stands for. Language is an expression of results based on tests on objects that are now definable. It is a shortcut for learning information. Therefore it s important that AI does more than think in a correct pattern as our experience of inputs comes from our interactions with one another and what we learn from language and not on our own in solitude. The man the Chinese Room cannot have those things and therefore cannot learn a language in the method he is prescribed. This wraps in the thoughts of the second point as well to feel self aware we identify ourselves in relation to other people. This shows our society is also one big brain that is made up of variety of rooms or people in this case all making decisions and rules for their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Empathy Altruism Model argues that altruism does exist and explains why people help others even though they are not related. The Mens Rea element is the mental part of the crime and requires proof that the defendant was in a guilty state of mind before the defendant can be convicted of a crime. There are three different types of Mens Rea; direct and oblique intention, recklessness and negligence. Intention is differs from motive or desire. For example if defendant kills their wife who is suffering from a terminal illness, to relieve their suffering, may well act out of good motives. The difficulty with a subjective test is that it is based entirely on the defendant s state of mind and it is for the prosecution to prove that the defendant did anticipate the potential of harm. Negligence is consequences caused by the actions of a person that fell below the standard of a reasonable person. Negligence plays a minor role in criminal liability. Relative Formula Mass is the scientific measurement that is used to measure the mass of one atom of an element. Carbon is the standard atom for RFM, Carbon has a relative atomic mass (Ar) of 12. How is Relative Formula Mass calculated? Relative Formula Mass is calculated in a compound by adding up the numbers of atoms in the formula and using the relative mass of each atom to calculate the total mass for each element and add up the total mass of the compound to get the RFM. RFM uses relative atomic mass (Ar) to calculate mass. To Wouk out the RFM of sodium hydroxide (NaOH), the relative atomic masses of the elements in this compound are Hydrogen = 1, Sodium = 23, Oxygen = 16 to work out the RFM these masses must be added together such as; 1 + 23 +16 = 40 RFM. • 24. Gender Wage Gap And Gender Inequality Throughout history, discrimination has wielded its ugly head in many different forms. Things such as, but not limited to, race, religion, appearance, beliefs and gender have consistently oppressed minorities. A continual discrimination that the women of the world are dealing with takes place in what has been promised to be a fair and unprejudiced environment: the work place. This issue deals with women not being paid the same amount of money as men even though they may be equally, if not more so, trained, educated and qualified for jobs. This historically stems from women being the traditional caregivers or homemakers while men tended to be the breadwinners of the household. This difference in pay based on gender is called the Gender Wage Gap. The Gender Wage Gap is the difference in working pay earned by men and then working pay earned by women. The conventional way to look at the gender wage gap is to compare full time salaries earned by both of the genders. Up until the 1950 s, it was accepted that men and women were paid different amounts of money. Women were thought not to need to be paid as much as their male counterparts because they were not the breadwinners of the family. In the 1960 s, this all changed because people and unions from all across the country fought hard for the Equal Pay legislation. It is now part of the Canadian Human Rights act. Canadian law now requires employers to pay men and women the same pay for the same job and this is called pay ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is already known that the wristband is the best way to go if one wants to really enjoy themselves at the fair. Who would not want to go on the these faboulous dangerous rides more than once? Definitely not me. I always get the wristband. The first thing I always do is of course I go to the broke down rides and test them out. FDR had talked with the Dutch and the British to see if they would agree upon embargoes on Japan. Primary victims are those who directly involved in the event and secondary victims are those who are suffered a psychiatric illness when someone they know is killed or injured in an accident. A recognised psychiatric condition is defined as a genuine illness or injury, needed medical evidence and has a long term effect. Adam might claim as a primary victim in this case, because a primary victim has to suffer physical injury or at a risk of physical injury and psychiatric injuries. The liability of causing psychiatric injury depends on foreseeability of physical injury, for example, in the case of Page v Smith where Mr Page suffered no physical injury but a recurrence of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and became unable to work, Smith is liable as he could reasonably foresee that Mr Page suffer physical injury. She also points out renowned writers such as Jean Jacques Rousseau. Ten years before this, Jean Jacques Rousseau had published his tell all called Confessions. This was during the Romanticism period, a period where there was rejection of rationality and reason while in favor of feelings. There was more emphasis on subjectivity, the way the individual perceives their experience. From reading Vindication, you understand why Wollstonecraft wrote this. She claims that Rousseau s view towards women were very double standard. He states that Women are smaller compared to men, both in their physical frame and mental frame. So because of that, they should all be submissive towards men. Thus, the prejudice of women being the weak and sensitive sex prevails. Both men and women, live their lives believing that women are weak minded. At an early age society teaches that a woman s mind is weaker than a man s mind, justifying it with the fact that a woman s body is weaker than that of a man s.
