In the 1990 s, the core markets of Kellogg s, such as the United States and the UK, had been stagnant
for over a decade. There also seemed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To tackle this, it undertook the following steps:
1. In order to gain more market share, Kellogg s decided to launch two highly successful brands
internationally Chocos in 1996 and Frosties in 1997 in India. Both of the brands were very successful
and sales picked up significantly. It also started providing its offering in retail packs of different sizes.
This enabled the company to cater the needs of different individuals.
2. Leveraging on the success of Chocos that the company decided to expand the brand by foraying in
to the cereal biscuit area with the launch of Chocos Cereal Biscuits. Kellogg s started concentrating on
establishing its brand name in the market irrespective of the off take. The focus was entirely on being
present and visible on the retail shelves with a wide range of products.
3. Kellogg s are realized that in order to sell more they had to adopt the local flavor and hence this led
to the total Indianization of its flavors in future. This resulted in the launch of the Mazza line of
products in August, 1998 in three local flavors Mango Elaichi, Coconut Kesar and Rose after one year
extensive research to study consumer patterns in India. These lines were however discontinued due to

Lewis Carroll s Wonderland
Unbeknown to many, Alice in Wonderland borrows a lot from the reality of its author. As a matter of
fact, Alice in Wonderland has as much to do with its author as it has to do with creativity. Lewis
Carroll s beliefs are written all over the story as one navigates through the alternate reality he presents
in the novel. Before exploring the evidence of Lewis Carroll s spiritual beliefs in Alice, it is important
to understand what actually constitutes Lewis Carroll s beliefs. Notably, other than being an author,
Lewis was an Anglican clergyman, a mathematician and a talented formal logician. Other than
studying at Christ Church Oxford, he went ahead to lecture at the same institution (Auerbach, 1973).
Indeed, this brief history presents an individual whose life is deeply founded in religion.
Conventionally, religion is founded on three fundamental principles, that is, the existence of an
alternate reality, belief in supernatural force, and of course, the conquest of good over evil. These form
the foundations of religion and are indeed, the very tenets upon which Alice in Wonderland is
founded. As a matter of fact, in his book The Gospel in Disney, Longfellow (1993) asserts that
Christian lessons are learned from Alice in Wonderland.
In Alice in Wonderland, Lewis presents and entirely alternate reality. Alice finds herself in a world
other than the one in which she lives. At the very start of the story, Alice finds herself in distress. From
this set up, Lewis akin to his

Designing A Model Using Structured Analysis Techniques
At the conclusion of the requirements phase, the team has agreed upon the needs of the business and
what must be required of the new system. The next step in designing and implementing the new
system is determining the processes that will be applied to the data and graphically representing them
in a model using structured analysis techniques. Process models are used to identify and document the
portion of system requirements that relates to data. Processes are the logical rules that are applied to
transform the data into meaningful information. During this phase, data flow diagrams are required to
show how the data will move through the system. The systems data flow and data stores are then
documented in the data dictionary, which is used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An entity relationship diagram visually describes the objects of the data and their relationship to one
another. Business process diagrams show how data moves through the organization using processes
performed by an individual. Managers, developers, and users then review and approve the diagrams
and documentation generated before proceeding to the next modeling phase. With the completion of
the logical model, a physical model is outlined to portray the actual design of a database. Physical
modeling illustrates the integration of the data requirements that were recognized during logical
modeling into a system structure that will be implemented. A physical model creates objects using
symbols such as tables and columns based on entities and attributes that were defined during logical
modeling. Constraints, such as primary keys, foreign keys and other unique keys, are defined in this
modeling phase. It is crucial to have a well informed, knowledgeable design team in the development
of the physical model. To ensure that all information system needs are met, physical models are often
developed jointly by a team representing the data administration, database administration, and
application development areas (CA ERwin Data Modeler Methods Guide CA, n.d.). Physical
modeling is database specific, which means the objects defined during physical modeling can vary
depending on the database software being used. The hardware of a company

Big Brother Research Paper
Natalie I really like how you approached this subject. Showing how the media and some groups
misinterpret government actions can be very eye opening to many people. I have family member, and
work with people that are so set in this thinking that Big Brother is always looking over their shoulder,
and collecting all kinds of information about them. I have tried to tell them that the government has
way bigger issues to worry about than trying to learn about some middle class person living in the
middle of Missouri. I think one of the biggest reasons so many people think that the government is
always looking in their windows is the simple fact that many people outside the intelligence world
have no idea what actually goes on, and how hard it can be to gather information. Do you think if the
American public was more educated on what goes on within the intelligence agencies that they would
lower their fear of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first issue is that the everyday American would have a little more faith in the government. This
group of people I believe is the majority of the American public, which some would call the educated
voter. The second outcome of the government educating the American public, involves the group of
people that believes that government is out to get them, these are the people that wear tin foil hats to
protect themselves from the aliens. These people would take this new education and start spreading
the rumors that the government did this just to distract the American public to actually what was going
on. The third outcome involves the intelligence agencies and their ability to work in the shadows. If
the American public is over educated on what goes on when collecting intelligence then so dose our
enemies. Keeping the ability to allow these agencies to work in the dark is key. There has to be a
balance between over educating and under

Essay on Sexual Harassment
In today s society we constantly hear or read about individuals that claim they were a victim of sexual
pressure. These instances can take place at work, school, the military and even at church. But exactly
what is sexual exploitation or unwanted sexual behavior? After looking at several definitions for
sexual abuse I came across the following definition that I feel will help all of us to better understand
what inappropriate sexual behavior is. Sexual harassment was defined by The Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission (EEOC) as unwelcome advances and requests for sexual behavior or
conditional requests such as a person s employment will continue if they perform these acts. (Gale
Group, 2003). This definition left me thinking and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Please also keep in mind that a harasser can be male or female and can be of the same sex as the
victim. The harasser may not always know that they are being offensive but if the other person is
uncomfortable and has stated this to them then he or she should stop before legal action is brought
forth.
Some women may even prefer not to report any allegations of being pressured sexually for fear of
what might happen to them if they do. Although it is not lawful to retaliate against an individual for
exposing employment practices that discriminate many people would seek retaliatory efforts.
Therefore there are many women who feel it may be better for them to suffer in silence than to deal
with revengeful or vindictive tactics such as being denied promotions or being scorned by other
women who may think that the victim is pressing charges for attention. Because of the nature of such
unprofessional behavior the victim may find him or herself very alone and no one wants to go through
that especially after suffering through the harassment itself.
Being sexually abused can have similar effects like rape in which the victim falls prey to depression,
shame and guilt. Being depressed can lead to anxiety problems, an increase or decrease in weight as
well as a lack of self confidence and self respect. They may experience the loss of trust in familiar
people and places. The victim can become withdrawn and if they are married the

African Americans And Asian Americans
Model Minority has become a frequently used terms to categorize other cultures and systemize their
relationship to the rest of the world. Defined properly, model minority refers to minority groups that
have rates of socio economic assimilation and achieved a high level of success in today s western
society. The term has been used most often to describe Asian Americans, group seen as having
attained economic and education success at significantly higher rates than that of other minority
groups. Although first coined by sociologist William Petersen in 1966, the term model minority was
not popularized and nationalized as a reference to Asian Americans through radio and television
outlets, and even some academics until the mid 1970s. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Condition of Children Orange County report states that in the 2011 2012 academic year, 7.4% of
Asian students dropped out of high school, which is higher than their white peers (4.6%). Because of
this, many schools do not accurately monitor, record, and report the dropout rates among Asian
Americans. As a result, many school districts throughout the nation do not realize the significant
number of Asian students they are losing because of a stereotype (Walker Moffat, 1995). In addition to
underachievement and growing dropout rates among Asian Americans, the increasing socioeconomic
gap between Asians and whites also made the model minority stereotype problematic. According to
U.S. Census Bureau, the poverty rates among Asian American groups (12.6%) remain elevated
compared to that of their white counterparts and the overall national average (12.4%).
The negative effects of the model minority myth and stereotypes are also evident in secondary and
post graduate education. Research shows that the false representation of Asian students has evolved
into the inaccurate view and additional stereotype that Asian students achieve their success through
dishonest means and threaten the success of their academic peers (Suzuki, 2002). For example, the
increased profiling of Asian students in higher education has resulted in directly adverse learning
environments that place additional negative views on their success (Yeh, 2002). Numerous

Letter To Victor Frankenstein
Dearest brother, I hope my letter reaches you in time. It has been a few weeks since I last heard back
from you, and I understand the cause of your troubles. Upon reading your letters concerning your
visitor s life, I was also originally in a state of disbelief. The details of his tale were so implausible that
I dared not even consider them as fact. However, upon reading your tales and conceiving the vigor
with which you wrote it, it became increasingly believable. This caused me to further evaluate the
character of this man you claimed as your closest friend, this Victor Frankenstein.
While his tales seemed to be fictitious, your account of the evil being that boarded the ship to view his
lifeless body have caused me to reconsider. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

costly journey. Why else would God permit him to live until his tale reached its completion? Your men
themselves were begging you to free them from this obsession. Brother, I beg of you to choose the
natural affection of your family and loved ones rather than continue to pursue your fascination.
These two signs alone would be enough to cause any sane man to leave this preoccupation alone and

provided both of these opportunities for you to make the right decision. Please, I beg of you, if you

Schizophrenia Is A Disease Process That Is Characterized...
Schizophrenia is a disease process that is characterized by periods of irrational behavior, emotional
changes, and distorted views of reality. According to the National Institute for Health and Care
Excellence, this illness affects about one percent of the population. In the past, the general belief about
schizophrenia was that it was untreatable and that all patients with this disease needed to be
institutionalized. Although that could still be a viable option in isolated cases of extreme psychosis,
most patients nowadays use a combination of individual or group therapy and pharmacological
therapy to reduce and control their symptoms. As a result, these patients are able to adapt and learn to
live with this illness.
Schizophrenia is typically diagnosed during early adulthood or late adolescence. Each schizophrenic
patient will have a unique set of symptoms. Most patients with schizophrenia gradually develop signs
and symptoms over time, although it is also completely plausible for some patients to have a sudden
onset of symptoms. Typically, this illness starts out with a prodromal period. During this period,
people afflicted by this disease experience positive symptoms that may include disturbances in their
thought process, a difficulty differentiating between reality and fantasy, and a substantial increase in
instances of delusions and hallucinations. Negative symptoms of schizophrenia may include social
withdrawal, the inability to pay attention, and general

Dylan Thomas Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
When a word or a phrase is repeated over and over again, it tends to become stronger in meaning and
it sticks in the subconscious. Welsh writer and poet Dylan Thomas was born in 1914 and died in 1953.
He wrote numerous works throughout his lifetime and exclusively wrote in the English language. One
such work was titled Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night. In the poem, the narrator of an
unknown gender urges the reader to not give up on life and to passionately fight to keep living. The
main literary device Thomas uses is repetition, and he uses this tool with certain phrases to give
emphasis and to make the meaning of his words stronger.
Titles are important, and the multiple use of this poem s title emphasizes the meaning behind the
poem. For example, in almost every stanza, the phrase do not go gentle into that good night (659) is
used. These words are passionately used to plead to the reader not to give up so easily on life. The
poet is talking to readers of who have thoughts of hopelessness in life and cannot find meaning to their
existence. Symbolically, the use of the word night is the end of the ... Show more content on

multiple times in the poem to put a deep emphasis on fighting to live against the inevitable death.
Every day, people hear and see repetition all around as commercials repeat sales and slogans to
intensify what they re saying and to burn them into our brains (Wilson). In this poem, the repetition of
phrases burn into the memory of the readers and help the reader understand the deeper elements of the

The New York Times By Steven Pearlstein
In pondering the question of inequality in the United States rising or falling it must first be asked how
would it be decided or what is considered equality? However, before answering these questions, I will
address two articles that present a difference in opinion on the subject of the middle class surviving or
dying out. The first article I will address was in The New York Times, written by Steven Pearlstein. It
was a bit difficult to find strong arguments in this article supporting his belief of the middle class
surviving. However, there are a few things mentioned in the article that did make a good point.
Pearlstein (2007) wrote, $44,500 is reported the median household income with taking in the varying
of sizes from single to Brady Bunch (para. 7). A single household would live within different means
than a larger household. Information on the decline of low skilled jobs since 1979 and an incline in
elite jobs (Pearlstein, 2007). Another statement made in the article is, economic contentment derives
not from what they have but from how it compares with what everyone else has (Pearlstein, 2007).
This economy has and is undoubtedly concerned in what they do and do not have, compared to the
Jones s . In Rose s data he exempted any household before the age of 29 because they were just
starting out in their career and ages 59 or over due to just ending their career, and both making less
than average middle class households (Pearlstein, 2007). First off, this

Theme Of Motivation In Othello
Motivation is the key to the human mind, and its survival. In the Shakespearian tragedy
Othello, Iago s mind is perhaps the most perplexing of them all. However, his reason is not completely
obscured and hidden. The motivations of Iago lies in his symptoms of a societally induced inferiority
superiority complex, his supreme ego drives the plot and leaves destruction in its wake. The three key
elements to his motivation are his sense of supremacy and superiority, his own perceived status versus
his inferiority, and the lifestyle and privileges afforded to him from the power structures of society.
The most prevalent part of his motivation is his ego and air of superiority. Iago has a white
supremacist and thus racist attitude, as he states ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He has a perceived and strengthened the notion to Brabantio, that Desdemona deserves someone
better, one whom is of her own caste and complexion (and thus race) in society. His desires for racial
segregation are due to a white supremacist mindset. He believes she will turn from her mixed race
relationship with Othello and instead love a man of her (and his) own race, thinking himself and
others of his own race as superior, and the race that should be naturally loved. It s already clear from
the beginning, even before his plan, that he is racist, due to his use of the slur moor , use of racial
stereotypes like the mention of immoral magic, thick lips and savagery, and his comparison of Othello
to various animal imagery, as he stated,
an old black ram is tupping your white ewe (...) the devil will make a grandsire of you.

Socrates And Machiavelli
Socrates and Machiavelli are both very influential philosophers and two of the great minds of their
time. However, both of these men had their own separate ideas that did not completely agree with one
another. Machiavelli was born into a Renaissance time period of fragmented politics, lots of
bloodshed, and angry citizens while Socrates grew up in a time of political adjustment and instability
in Athens. Machiavelli constructed The Prince as a political pamphlet to his friend Lorenzo de Medici
on how a prince would successfully rule his land or kingdom most effectively. This guide consisted of
ideas that involved cheating and lying to keep people happy and asserting dominance over others. The

than in new monarchies... (Machiavelli, 5). Socrates may not oppose this first idea, but this sets up the
rest of the book s intentions which are how to rule most effectively, which Socrates may find very
wrong. Machiavelli next goes into detail in The Prince on how this new leader should lead the people
of his kingdom. He then tells a story about someone who was handed land and did everything
correctly in his eyes but got very unlucky (Machiavelli, 1950). This person is Cesare Borgia, Duke of
Valentinois. He was given territory by his father, Pope Alexander VI. He became a vicious ruler, one
that Machiavelli extremely admired and claimed to have had ruled perfectly. Machiavelli admired how
Borgia came into power and instantly took out any allies/armies he had a lack of trust with. Next,
Borgia ...appointed Messer Remirro de Orco, a cruel and able man, to whom he gave the fullest
authority (Machiavelli, 27). This man was hired to keep control of the area and have everyone feel
threatened so they wouldn t be disobedient. But once Borgia found out this threatening figure running
the land was causing people to dislike him as a leader, Borgia decided to cut Messer Remirro de Orco

Narrative Essay About Snowboarding
Snowboarding
It was a nice day up in vermont the mountain was cold the snow was white like the clouds and just as
fluffy as a persian cats white delicate fur. Then that s when it happened we got up to the mountain my
father my brother and myself when we got to the mountain we were amazed. When we got to the top
of the mountain we saw an amazement of colors and that s when it happened me and my father had a
fight a little while earlier. When we got to the area we put on our ski and snowboarding gear and then
it started we went up the the ski lift and I was still angry at my dad.
When we got to the top I was pleasantly surprised to see my oldest and best friend at the top who was
coming down the mountain with his father. When I saw them I suddenly yelled to them to get their
attention and they came back to where we were and then the whole day turned around. When I saw my
friend Connor and Zeke and connor s father Steve I was so happy I felt like my body was going to
explode because of how happy that I was. I went over to Connor and Zeke and we started to catch up.
When we were talking me and my dad started to feel a little guilty and then after a little while I finally
apologized and then he apologized and then we made up.

Plasmasphere Essay
Plasmasphere is a highly dynamics region which can expand and shrink within hours or less during
geomagnetic active times. Previous studies showed that the plasmasphere plays an important role in
energization and/or loss mechanism for electrons in the radiation belt. Therefore, constructing a
plasmapause (the outermost region of plasmasphere) model is key to study the correlation between
radiation belts and plasmasphere in details. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis for
plasmapause modelling by comparing the performances of different machine learning techniques
using different parameter sets. Particularly, this study examines techniques like bagging, boost,

With a better plasmapause model available, the scientists in the community can study and thus
understand the dynamics of the energetic electrons in the radiation belt and the role of plasmasphere
for the energization and loss of the electrons in the radiation belts. Hence, a better and more accurate

Benefits of Volunteering
Benefits of volunteering
19 October 2005
Volunteering has a meaningful, positive impact on your community. But did you know that it can have
many benefits for you too? Here are some reasons to volunteer:
Learn or develop a new skill
Volunteering is the perfect vehicle to discover something you are really good at and develop a new
skill. As Mahatma Gandhi said, Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live
forever. It is never too late to learn new skills and no reason why you should stop adding to your
knowledge just because you are in employment or have finished education. Planning and
implementing a major fundraising event can develop goal setting, planning and budgeting skills.
Supervising and training ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes a volunteer experience can lead you to something you never even thought about or help
you discover a hobby or interest you were unaware of. You can strengthen your personal/professional
mission and vision by exploring opportunities and expanding your horizons.
New experiences
Volunteering is a brilliant way to get life experience. Whether you build a library or mail flyers to
raise awareness for a local charity, you will experience the real world through hands on work. This
guide section has established that volunteers can do almost anything and with the new millenium has
dawned an era of infinite volunteer opportunities. For example, it is possible to volunteer in
developing countries and see the direct impact of your actions on some of the most vulnerable people
of the world. You could skydive for charity, a chance to experience the ultimate thrill and raise funds
to help the charity continue its work.
Meeting a diverse range of people
Volunteering brings together a diverse range of people from all backgrounds and walks of life. Both
the recipients of your volunteer efforts and your co workers can be a rich source of inspiration and an
excellent way to develop your interpersonal skills. Volunteering also offers an incredible networking
opportunity. Not only will you develop lasting personal and professional relationships but it is also a
great way to learn about people from all walks of life,

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) was founded in 1906 to regulate the safety of food and
drugs. The Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) was put into effect in 1994 to
regulate dietary supplements. Under this Act, dietary supplements are categorized as food. Therefore,
they do not require testing before marketing. However, my contention is dietary supplements should
no longer be considered foods because they contain substances that are not safe to consume without
prior approval of doctors. Further, they should be tested before being marketed to improve the safety
and well being of the consumer. With the help of Jennifer Weeks, in her article Dietary Supplements,

Florida Aquifer System
Next we will discuss the Florida Aquifer System. There are many factors that contribute to the storage
and movement of ground water, porosity and permeability are the two most important elements to this
equation (Lutgens, 2012.) Porosity is the volume of open space between rock or sediment and
permeability is the ability for a fluid to pass through (Lutgens, 2012.) Rock and sediments that allow
groundwater to travel freely are called aquifers. These aquifers are natural resources that exist
underneath the earths surface to store water. In the case of Florida s aquifer system the system is
considered to be one of the most productive in the world (USGS, n.d.) In its entirety, the aquifer
system underlies an area of about 100,000 square miles

Patricia Piccinini The Comforter Analysis
Patricia Piccinini is known for creating extraordinary pieces of work, her personal interest in science
has developed into a broader interest in capturing the aspects of relationships between humans and the
possible future genetic animal mutations in her art. Her sculptures are primarily constructed from
silicone and fiberglass, inviting us into a world where the advances of biotechnology along with
digital technologies are challenging the boundaries of humanity. She exhibits a personal perspective
into some of the most difficult ethical issues of our time (QAGOMA, 2018) as the audience is
confronted with the prospect of artificial technology, questioning our ethical obligations in caring for
these mutations. The political, social and moral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On Syncope
Introduction: Orthostatic symptoms are common in children and adolescents such that 15% experience
syncope once in their teenage years.1 A comprehensive history, physical examination, bedside
orthostatic testing and an ECG are usually sufficient for diagnosis combined with prevention measures
for postural intolerance and reassurance being sufficient in most cases.2 4 Many patients with
orthostatic intolerance (OI) have limitations of daily activities with reduced school attendance and
impaired quality of life.5
A subset of children with OI may have an underlying disorder (autoimmune condition, mitochondrial
insufficiency, diabetes mellitus etc.) and thus diagnosis can be elusive and expensive.6 Syncope is
obvious and readily recognized to the extent that patients are frequently evaluated in an emergency
room and office setting. Clinical characteristics are described in children with syncope but literature is
limited in describing those many patients who present with symptoms other than syncope.7,8 We
studied the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of children and adolescents with OI who had
autonomic dysfunction based on head up tilt table test (HUTT).

From November 2010 to June 2012, we obtained medical records of patients with OI and HUTT. Our

Machiavelli s Flaws In The Prince
his work, The Prince, Machiavelli references dozens of infamous men and women who are leaders and
rulers in their own right. However, he recognizes them for many failures rather than for their successes
and conquests. Machiavelli attributes the failure and blame entirely to the fact that none of the
mentioned individuals properly adhered to his rules . Machiavelli meticulously describes and outlines
his ideas of what essential Prince qualities are, hoping that someone who reads them will follow his
words and turn them into actions. A careful audience who reads the meaning and not just the content
will see that The Prince is simply Machiavelli carrying out his plan by covertly doing everything he
describes in his outline. That is what makes it quite clear that Machiavelli himself is ... Show more

Machiavelli is not only the Prince but is drawing a comparison of himself to God. He is the source of
the reader s lawgiving to others by implementing new modes and orders via the person or people who
follows his word. He also mentions that Moses had so great a teacher (23). The teacher in this case
would be Machiavelli. In chapter 26 it is mentioned that Moses greatness came as a resolution to
tragedy, those enslaved in Egypt (102). That can be compared to the conflicts going in Italy during his
time, and is Machiavelli compelling another to show greatness if they follow his orders and fix the
problem. The audience, if following his advice, is comparable to Moses due to the lack of greatness
that is actually brought upon by their own doing. Machiavelli stresses the importance of the Prince

Theme Of Oliver Twist
The word money sums up a theme that Dickens has been preoccupied with in many of his novels .
Dickens has studied the nineteenth century commercially oriented England and observed the
corrupting influence of money on members and deplorably , suggesting how material possessions
have become the criterion of evaluating a human being . Dickens s critics are well aware of this
devastating influence . Humphry House confidently tells us that Dickens s plots and characters are ,
constructed round an attitude to money . Social status without it is subordinate . 1 This however , is a
general comment on the Dickensian text . But in Oliver Twist , the theme gathers momentum and

With the Victorian novelists , the scope of imagination takes a further step by being regarded as a

Understanding of the Self Essay
Understanding of the Self
INTRODUCTION The social constructionist perspective holds the view that the self is continuing
shaped and reshaped through interactions with others and involvement in social and cultural activities
(Wetherell Maybin, 1996, p 220). Social constructionist is concerned with explicating the processes by
which people come to describe, explain, or otherwise account for the world (including themselves) in
which they live (Gergen, 1971). Thus, the social constructionist approach implies that the self is
shaped by social interaction within historical, cultural and social contexts. Social constructionist s

Therefore, the argument as presented by the social constructionist view is that self identity is shaped
through a combination of interactions between the society and the individual (Wetherell and Maybin,
1996). An example to support would be social constructionist s Miller and Sperry whose finding
discovered connections in the emotions of a child s and his mother s. Thus they believe that this
finding proves that there is an internalisation and construction of one self through descriptive stories
and social distribution (Wetherell Maybin, 1996).
Both the social constructionist and the psychodynamic views adopt a hermeneutic epistemology,
which centers on the analysis of a person s actions, their fundamental influences and how the external
social world can be internalised and represented symbolically within an individual (Stevens, 1996).
However, there are key differences between the two views. The social constructionist applies a
societal study approach which converge the external society and the social relationships within it. This
implying that the self is built up and continually developed through multiple social networks
(Sapsford, 1996). On the other hand, psychodynamic theories applies psychoanalytical

Comparing Allopathic and Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatments of LBP 2
Abstract
Low back pain (LBP) is an issue that affects patients, healthcare professionals, and society on a global
scale. With advancements in allopathic medicine, LBP is better managed than ever before however, its
methodologies in diagnosing and treating LBP and its results are inconsistent. For this reason, many
patients and healthcare professionals are turning to alternative treatments such as traditional Chinese
medicine, which is now considered one of the leading treatments of LBP.
This study explores LBP treatment methodologies used in allopathic medicine and traditional Chinese
medicine (TCM). The research of Dr. Frank (1995) are examined further in order to gain more
understanding of the TCM methodology and its relationship with LBP. Additionally, this study aims to
convey what the holistic, low cost approach of TCM has to offer and to better understand the use and
effectiveness of acupuncture and herbology in the treatment and prevention of LBP.

Coming Of Age In Mississippi Chapter Summary
The author s thesis from the book Coming of Age in Mississippi provided a lot of details describing
the events leading up to Anne Moody s life development. As a reader of the book Coming of Age in
Mississippi I do believe the author strongly supported her thesis telling her story with a timeline.
Throughout the book, Anne Moody does a fantastic job by organizing the different chapters by
revealing her ideas through a schooling standpoint. Ann s thesis elaborated the main points of her life
while growing up in Mississippi. After reading chapter one of the book I learned that Ann Moody
provided the readers with great information pertaining her life at the age of four. In chapter one, Anne

With being a reader of the book I m very comprehension of how life may have been during this period
of time. The second concept Ann Moody strongly supported was her detailed information about her
family. Towards the second and third chapter, Ann Moody gives points about her family split up.
When Moody explains her family separation, she expresses her feelings on the new life Ann must
adapt to. Ann Moody goes into much details on how she had to change her familiar life to one that
became unpleasant to live. Ann stories mention on the moving of six different houses over a six year
time period. As the book goes on Ann focuses her story on her life while in the fourth grade and how
she didn t have the typical life as a fourth grader. Moody mentions she passed all her class and even
began working at this age in order help keep food on the family table. As the author reveals
information about this part of her life, it is brought to my attention while Ann is telling her story she
does not show any sorrow of painful lifestyle she had to overcome as a child. I do believe Ann Moody

A Classroom in the Park
In the nineteenth century, many psychologist and educational reformers began to challenge the past
comprehension of education and it s teachings. Many defiers believed that education cannot be simply
taught out of a text book, and proceeded to prove their point. John Locke speculated that truth and
knowledge... are out of observation and experience rather than manipulation of accepted or given
ideas. Johann Bernhard Basedow (1724 1790) developed new teaching methods that were simply
based on interaction with a child. Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi (1746 1827), whose motto was Learning
by head, hand and heart, believed that a student learns best through experiences and direct
manipulation and experience of objects. (__) He also felt that children learn through internal
motivation rather than pressure. He concludes that a teacher s job is to help guide their students to a
place where learning can unfold naturally. Friedrich Fröbel (1782 1852) created the concept of
kindergarten through his recognition of children s unique needs and capabilities and belief that the
teacher s role was not to indoctrinate but to encourage self expression through play, both individually
and in group activities. (__) John Dewey (1859 1952) was an American philosopher, psychologist, and
educational reformer who set standards for education that are still used today. Dewey was considered
a major voice of progressive education, which is summarized as hands on projects, expeditionary

An engineering career can give options to a college graduate that are hard to match. Engineering is a
rewarding career path that requires hard work, and dedication. The hard work of a prospective

good engineer. The World Book verifies that it was around the time of the industrial revolution that the
role of engineers expanded more rapidly ( Engineering , 1999). Ever since then, the need for engineers
has grown even more. Engineering Degrees 101.com states that today, the body of engineers in the

Divine Comedy Poem
The Divine Comedy The Divine Comedy is a narrative poem, which was written by Dante Alighieri.
The long narrative poem was written from 1308 and was completed around 1320. A deep analysis of
The Divine Comedy reveals that the poem is in a way, a story about Dante s journey throughout life to
the final salvation. The opening canto of the poem starts in the middle of Dante s life, where he finds
himself in a dark wood, with no clear direction in which to go. This canto becomes the introduction to
the Divine Comedy. The poem, (considered to be one of the greatest works in the history of literature)
is viewed as the finest work in the whole of Italian literature. Famous during its time, the poem seems
to somewhat represent the medieval world view (similar to that which had been developed by the
Western Church in the 14th century). This representation is brought about by the poem through
excellent imaginative vision of the afterlife. The Divine Comedy was among the last works of Dante
Alighieri, who met his death in 1321, a year after completion of this particular poem. For the purpose
of this essay, an analysis of The Divine Comedy will be researched. The Divine Comedy is a trilogy
containing three volumes, each of which contains 33 cantos, otherwise known as chapters, (Dante,
Alighieri). The three volumes are Inferno, Paradiso and Purgatorio. In all the three volumes, Dante
Alighieri plays the author as well as the central character. The poem is written using the

Arguments Against Protest
Garbage littering the streats, buildings slowly withering away in flames, glass shattered everywhere
while smoke turns the sky black, as city officials try to put together the pieces of whats left of their
city. All this is a classic scene of the aftermath after a protest. While having the right to freedom of
speech, and the ability to express them openly, there is still a right and wrong way to do so. Protesting
is the least effictive and most harmful. Although many argue that protesting is manageable and
proffiecent, protests casue more issues than bennifets because they hurt people and property, send bad
messages to the communities and waste people s time and resources. In the process of protesting many
people get hurt and injured while property gets destructed and destroyed. This alone should be the red
light, signally that protest does no good. A recent example would be the Trump Inauguration, more
than two police officers and one civilian were taken to the hospital (Krieg). Why are we endangering
the people that protect us, when all of this could be solved by not protesting. Not only does it endanger
police but in puts civilians at risk. These major cities where protest take place are homes to thousands
of people, and when protesters are in action ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

It was very obvious that Okonkwo was not willing to convert, he stayed and instead tried to get as
many people as he could to stand up to them and begin a war to get the British out one and for all. The
story would have gone much different if he would have agreed with the british and converted without
going down with a fight. It would not seem like him.
Additionally, the theme of this meaningful novel is culture conflict. It proves to see if danger that you
know is going to overpower your culture and effect your life, do you join it or fight for what you
believe in. That is exactly what Okonkwo did. No matter what the issue was he always knew that he
had done something wrong and and did his time, but in the end of the day he still stood up for what he
believed in. Just like today cultures should still treat each other with respect and respect different
beliefs. At the end of the novel, Okonkwo had hung himself because he knew the missionaries would
eventually and he wanted to be the one with the power to take his life. He decided to be the bigger
person and take his own life instead of giving them the power.
In the final analysis, Okonkwo was very unsatisfied with the coming of the British. He begins to
become more intimidating and decided to stand up for his tribe, sadly no one had his back. Okonkwo
becomes a tragic hero because he has tried to save his tribe, culture, and life but has failed in doing so.

ascribes his success as a detective. He argues that through the power of deduction, or otherwise the
process of using clues and details to explain a hypothesis or argument. This passage shows a flaw in
Holmes s reasoning since the method being described is not that of deduction, but induction; the
process of making an argument to explain small clues or details. Nevertheless, Holme s reasoning
shows an important ideal in detective fiction of this era, where mundane objects are clues used to aid
the detective in solving the mystery. The detective is able to observe the ordinary object and pieces of
the scene and from there draw a conclusion based ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Holmes explains his idea of the human memory as a room with limited storage capacity. This relates
to Holmes crafting of his skill and ability to be specialised in knowledge relevant to his work while
being unknowledgeable about unrelated topics. Holmes presents an image of the human mind as an
open canvas that does not simply absorb information, but you must actively choose what information
to remember. Since the amount of information is limited, a person should according to Holmes only
select the information which pertains to their profession. The passage identifies a person s ability to
craft his own mind and develop skills which will enable him to succeed in any field, something that
would have attracted to readers of the middle class and liberals since it means that everyone has the
same ability to make something of themselves. The problem presented in the passage is with the
limited amount of information, which means that in order to be specialised in certain fields, a person
lacks knowledge in other. A conflict which Holmes

Christian Baptism Research Paper
Baptism is an integral part of Christianity, making it crucial that we understand the meaning of
baptism and its place in Christian history. Jesus said those who love him should obey his commands,
and believers of the Good News of his gospel and teachings who receive baptism will be saved . A
soldier must commit and follow his commander s orders for acceptance, and the first followers of
Jesus Christ accepted his command and were baptized. Accepting his most important commandment
proved they were faithful believers of Christ s teachings.
These distinguished early followers became known as his disciples who spread the teachings of Jesus
Christ and waited for his return. Philip spread the word that baptism was a command of salvation from

Government Vs Government Intervention
The papers of history books, is full of the names of artists who died in poverty, and who weren t
cherished for what they had created. For many years, it has been argued that one of the ways in which
this can be prevented, is the government intervention. Although, it has been amply mentioned from
time to time, by differnet scholars, that governments should not intervene in people s lives, and the
government s stepping in is extenuated in just a scant of situations, but sometimes, there isn t an
alternative way. Although it may seem irrelevant to Art, consider the case of the Steam Engine, which
many believe is invented by James Watt. The truth is this equipment was invented about one hundred
years before Mr. Watt even fathomed such an idea; It was a French physician, who first came up with
the idea of a steam engine, but the government didn t support him, and as a result, his invention had
gone to waste. So the government support is nothing to be neglected in the case of inventions and
technologies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consider a musician, who is forced to contribute a song to a presidential campaign, the result could
not be interpreted as a pure art, but at the best case, it would be a commercial entity. Undoubtedly, the
probability of these cases to happen, is much more in a country which is ruled by a totalitarian
government. So, when lauding and encouraging the need for the governments to support artists, we
must not forget which kind of government are we talking about. In summary, there are pros and cons
in pushing the argument for the government intervention to support artists. We should consider both
sides : the case of an artist, who is living in extreme pauperization, and his creativeness is
deteriorating; and the case in which an artist s work is being jeopradized by a totalitarian government
that is dictating what should be created and what should

Reseach on the Impact of Religion Bias on Performance...
1. Introduction One of the fundamental purposes of management accounting and control research is to
motivate employees to operate for the firm s interest. It is clear that incentives affect overall
performance, and thus, managers and accountants by providing monetary incentives and compensation
systems aim to improve their employees performance. However, the inequity is produced by the
design of compensation contracts and by managers performance evaluation biases, is perceived to be
one of the main problems of firm s prosperity. A large theoretical literature, based on agency theory,
has emphasized how firms design compensation contracts make employees to do their best for the
firm. Therefore, firms include many different mechanisms (i.e. piece rates, options, bonuses and
stocks, budget targets) in their compensation contracts to align interests between the employees and
their managers. However, objective measures are not perfect and using only these is unlikely to be the
most effective way to motivate employees (Feltham Xie 1994; Hemmer 1996). Financial measures
provoke a reallocation of activities toward those that are directly compensated and away from the
uncompensated activities, known as multitasking problem (Holmstrom Milgrom, 1990, Baker 1992).
They have been criticized for promoting over emphasis on short turn financial results, and thus, they
sacrifice long turn (Ittner et al., 1997, 2003). Moreover, financial measures of performance tend to be

As a matter of fact, Alice in Wonderland has as much to do with its author as it has to do with creativity. Lewis Carroll s beliefs are written all over the story as one navigates through the alternate reality he presents in the novel. Before exploring the evidence of Lewis Carroll s spiritual beliefs in Alice, it is important to understand what actually constitutes Lewis Carroll s beliefs. Notably, other than being an author, Lewis was an Anglican clergyman, a mathematician and a talented formal logician. Other than studying at Christ Church Oxford, he went ahead to lecture at the same institution (Auerbach, 1973). Indeed, this brief history presents an individual whose life is deeply founded in religion. Conventionally, religion is founded on three fundamental principles, that is, the existence of an alternate reality, belief in supernatural force, and of course, the conquest of good over evil. These form the foundations of religion and are indeed, the very tenets upon which Alice in Wonderland is founded. As a matter of fact, in his book The Gospel in Disney, Longfellow (1993) asserts that Christian lessons are learned from Alice in Wonderland. In Alice in Wonderland, Lewis presents and entirely alternate reality. Alice finds herself in a world other than the one in which she lives. At the very start of the story, Alice finds herself in distress. From this set up, Lewis akin to his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Designing A Model Using Structured Analysis Techniques At the conclusion of the requirements phase, the team has agreed upon the needs of the business and what must be required of the new system. The next step in designing and implementing the new system is determining the processes that will be applied to the data and graphically representing them in a model using structured analysis techniques. Process models are used to identify and document the portion of system requirements that relates to data. Processes are the logical rules that are applied to transform the data into meaningful information. During this phase, data flow diagrams are required to show how the data will move through the system. The systems data flow and data stores are then documented in the data dictionary, which is used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An entity relationship diagram visually describes the objects of the data and their relationship to one another. Business process diagrams show how data moves through the organization using processes performed by an individual. Managers, developers, and users then review and approve the diagrams and documentation generated before proceeding to the next modeling phase. With the completion of the logical model, a physical model is outlined to portray the actual design of a database. Physical modeling illustrates the integration of the data requirements that were recognized during logical modeling into a system structure that will be implemented. A physical model creates objects using symbols such as tables and columns based on entities and attributes that were defined during logical modeling. Constraints, such as primary keys, foreign keys and other unique keys, are defined in this modeling phase. It is crucial to have a well informed, knowledgeable design team in the development of the physical model. To ensure that all information system needs are met, physical models are often developed jointly by a team representing the data administration, database administration, and application development areas (CA ERwin Data Modeler Methods Guide CA, n.d.). Physical modeling is database specific, which means the objects defined during physical modeling can vary depending on the database software being used. The hardware of a company ... I have family member, and work with people that are so set in this thinking that Big Brother is always looking over their shoulder, and collecting all kinds of information about them. I have tried to tell them that the government has way bigger issues to worry about than trying to learn about some middle class person living in the middle of Missouri. I think one of the biggest reasons so many people think that the government is always looking in their windows is the simple fact that many people outside the intelligence world have no idea what actually goes on, and how hard it can be to gather information. Do you think if the American public was more educated on what goes on within the intelligence agencies that they would lower their fear of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These people would take this new education and start spreading the rumors that the government did this just to distract the American public to actually what was going on. The third outcome involves the intelligence agencies and their ability to work in the shadows. These instances can take place at work, school, the military and even at church. But exactly what is sexual exploitation or unwanted sexual behavior? After looking at several definitions for sexual abuse I came across the following definition that I feel will help all of us to better understand what inappropriate sexual behavior is. Sexual harassment was defined by The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) as unwelcome advances and requests for sexual behavior or conditional requests such as a person s employment will continue if they perform these acts. (Gale Group, 2003). This definition left me thinking and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The harasser may not always know that they are being offensive but if the other person is uncomfortable and has stated this to them then he or she should stop before legal action is brought forth. Some women may even prefer not to report any allegations of being pressured sexually for fear of what might happen to them if they do. Although it is not lawful to retaliate against an individual for exposing employment practices that discriminate many people would seek retaliatory efforts. Therefore there are many women who feel it may be better for them to suffer in silence than to deal with revengeful or vindictive tactics such as being denied promotions or being scorned by other women who may think that the victim is pressing charges for attention. Because of the nature of such unprofessional behavior the victim may find him or herself very alone and no one wants to go through that especially after suffering through the harassment itself. Being sexually abused can have similar effects like rape in which the victim falls prey to depression, shame and guilt. Defined properly, model minority refers to minority groups that have rates of socio economic assimilation and achieved a high level of success in today s western society. The term has been used most often to describe Asian Americans, group seen as having attained economic and education success at significantly higher rates than that of other minority groups. The Condition of Children Orange County report states that in the 2011 2012 academic year, 7.4% of Asian students dropped out of high school, which is higher than their white peers (4.6%). Because of this, many schools do not accurately monitor, record, and report the dropout rates among Asian Americans. As a result, many school districts throughout the nation do not realize the significant number of Asian students they are losing because of a stereotype (Walker Moffat, 1995). In addition to underachievement and growing dropout rates among Asian Americans, the increasing socioeconomic gap between Asians and whites also made the model minority stereotype problematic. According to U.S. Census Bureau, the poverty rates among Asian American groups (12.6%) remain elevated compared to that of their white counterparts and the overall national average (12.4%). The negative effects of the model minority myth and stereotypes are also evident in secondary and post graduate education. Research shows that the false representation of Asian students has evolved into the inaccurate view and additional stereotype that Asian students achieve their success through dishonest means and threaten the success of their academic peers (Suzuki, 2002). For example, the increased profiling of Asian students in higher education has resulted in directly adverse learning environments that place additional negative views on their success (Yeh, 2002). • 10. Schizophrenia Is A Disease Process That Is Characterized... Schizophrenia is a disease process that is characterized by periods of irrational behavior, emotional changes, and distorted views of reality. According to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, this illness affects about one percent of the population. In the past, the general belief about schizophrenia was that it was untreatable and that all patients with this disease needed to be institutionalized. Although that could still be a viable option in isolated cases of extreme psychosis, most patients nowadays use a combination of individual or group therapy and pharmacological therapy to reduce and control their symptoms. As a result, these patients are able to adapt and learn to live with this illness. Schizophrenia is typically diagnosed during early adulthood or late adolescence. Each schizophrenic patient will have a unique set of symptoms. Most patients with schizophrenia gradually develop signs and symptoms over time, although it is also completely plausible for some patients to have a sudden onset of symptoms. Typically, this illness starts out with a prodromal period. During this period, people afflicted by this disease experience positive symptoms that may include disturbances in their thought process, a difficulty differentiating between reality and fantasy, and a substantial increase in instances of delusions and hallucinations. Welsh writer and poet Dylan Thomas was born in 1914 and died in 1953. He wrote numerous works throughout his lifetime and exclusively wrote in the English language. One such work was titled Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night. In the poem, the narrator of an unknown gender urges the reader to not give up on life and to passionately fight to keep living. The main literary device Thomas uses is repetition, and he uses this tool with certain phrases to give emphasis and to make the meaning of his words stronger. Titles are important, and the multiple use of this poem s title emphasizes the meaning behind the poem. For example, in almost every stanza, the phrase do not go gentle into that good night (659) is used. These words are passionately used to plead to the reader not to give up so easily on life. However, before answering these questions, I will address two articles that present a difference in opinion on the subject of the middle class surviving or dying out. The first article I will address was in The New York Times, written by Steven Pearlstein. It was a bit difficult to find strong arguments in this article supporting his belief of the middle class surviving. However, there are a few things mentioned in the article that did make a good point. Pearlstein (2007) wrote, $44,500 is reported the median household income with taking in the varying of sizes from single to Brady Bunch (para. 7). A single household would live within different means than a larger household. Information on the decline of low skilled jobs since 1979 and an incline in elite jobs (Pearlstein, 2007). This economy has and is undoubtedly concerned in what they do and do not have, compared to the Jones s . Social constructionist is concerned with explicating the processes by which people come to describe, explain, or otherwise account for the world (including themselves) in which they live (Gergen, 1971). Therefore, the argument as presented by the social constructionist view is that self identity is shaped through a combination of interactions between the society and the individual (Wetherell and Maybin, 1996). Thus they believe that this finding proves that there is an internalisation and construction of one self through descriptive stories and social distribution (Wetherell Maybin, 1996). Both the social constructionist and the psychodynamic views adopt a hermeneutic epistemology, which centers on the analysis of a person s actions, their fundamental influences and how the external social world can be internalised and represented symbolically within an individual (Stevens, 1996). However, there are key differences between the two views. The social constructionist applies a societal study approach which converge the external society and the social relationships within it. This implying that the self is built up and continually developed through multiple social networks (Sapsford, 1996). On the other hand, psychodynamic theories applies psychoanalytical ... • 32. Divine Comedy Poem The Divine Comedy The Divine Comedy is a narrative poem, which was written by Dante Alighieri. The long narrative poem was written from 1308 and was completed around 1320. A deep analysis of The Divine Comedy reveals that the poem is in a way, a story about Dante s journey throughout life to the final salvation. The opening canto of the poem starts in the middle of Dante s life, where he finds himself in a dark wood, with no clear direction in which to go. This canto becomes the introduction to the Divine Comedy. The poem, (considered to be one of the greatest works in the history of literature) is viewed as the finest work in the whole of Italian literature. Famous during its time, the poem seems to somewhat represent the medieval world view (similar to that which had been developed by the Western Church in the 14th century). This representation is brought about by the poem through excellent imaginative vision of the afterlife. The Divine Comedy was among the last works of Dante Alighieri, who met his death in 1321, a year after completion of this particular poem. For the purpose of this essay, an analysis of The Divine Comedy will be researched. Introduction One of the fundamental purposes of management accounting and control research is to motivate employees to operate for the firm s interest. It is clear that incentives affect overall performance, and thus, managers and accountants by providing monetary incentives and compensation systems aim to improve their employees performance. However, the inequity is produced by the design of compensation contracts and by managers performance evaluation biases, is perceived to be one of the main problems of firm s prosperity. A large theoretical literature, based on agency theory, has emphasized how firms design compensation contracts make employees to do their best for the firm. Therefore, firms include many different mechanisms (i.e. piece rates, options, bonuses and stocks, budget targets) in their compensation contracts to align interests between the employees and their managers. However, objective measures are not perfect and using only these is unlikely to be the most effective way to motivate employees (Feltham Xie 1994; Hemmer 1996). Financial measures provoke a reallocation of activities toward those that are directly compensated and away from the uncompensated activities, known as multitasking problem (Holmstrom Milgrom, 1990, Baker 1992).
