The Grandidier s Mongooses
The Fossa is the largest carnivore and top predator native to Madagascar. Fossas feed on lemurs and
almost any other creature it can find. These creatures have a similar appearances and behaviors as
animals in the feline family. Fossas have retractable claws and catlike teeth to help it capture its food
when stalking in the trees or on the ground, weather it be day or night. The Fossas ancestor, the
original ancestor of the Eupleridae family, is unknown. But through its ancestors, the Fossa is related
to Mongooses. Grandidier s Mongooses Also known as the Giant Striped Mongoose, the Grandidier s
Mongoose is a hard creature to find. The Image result for grandidier s mongoosetemperature in
Madagascar is very hot and humid, so to keep cool the mongoose adapted itself to burrow during the
day and hunt during the night, and unlike other mongooses, the Grandidier is very large. During the
night, the mongoose eats invertebrates and other small organisms. The Grandidier s Mongooses
ancestor is the Ring Tailed Mongoose, and through it, the Grandidier s Mongoose is related to Narrow
Striped Mongooses. Also, through the Eupleridae family s original ancestor, it is also related to

The Fast Fashion Industry
Imagine having to wake up everyday knowing that you have the tough task as a child going to the
factory just to go a make fabric and clothing for people you do not even know. Just because they want
more.
When there is a high demand for goods from consumers in order to get more there needs to be more
factories and workers in order to produce more.Consumers are the main reason for the goods being
ethically produced. They are the ones who want the product , so when they ask for more companies
have no choice but build more and do it quickly and once they are built so fast the environment also
suffers. For example , in Bangladesh Factory are being produced so quickly that and end up not being
as stable as it is suppose to be. Hundreds of factories ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example in the article How your addiction to fashion kills the author Susan Scafidi uses three of
the appeals used in order to tell help people see what a high demand for products can do. For example
the author uses logos in order to explain to us how we are able to get goods so fast from cheap labor.
In the article it states The reason we have fast fashion is the cheap exploited labor around the world,
said Cline. She estimates that less than 10% of what we re wearing... was made in factories where
people were paid a living wage and working in safe and legal conditions. This explains that we rarely
wear clothes that was produced from safe and good paying factories. As consumers we should turn the
heat down and let it simmer for a minute. Is it really fair to workers who make most of our clothes?
Scafidi also states Yet with the demand for fast fashion an all time high, more and more clothes are
being made in the kinds of conditions that morally offend a lot of people in the Western world and
without these kinds of well publicized tragedies, shoppers don t even think about it. Scafidi displays
the use of pathos in order to help us feel and understand that we do not agree or support how people
are enrolled into harsh labor , yet we continue and fail to realize what is going on until tragedies like
the Bangladesh factory collapse occurs. As consumers Scafidi wants us

Rhetorical Analysis of Public Thinking
Journalist, Clive Thompson in his book, Smarter Than You Think , specifically in the chapter titled,
Public Thinking , published on September 12, 2013, addresses the topic of technology and argues that
because of the internet, we are doing more writing now than ever. Therefore technology is helping us
think publicly in new and improved ways. He supports this claim by asserting that there is an
improvement in our writing, which is happening because of the audience effect , he then goes on to
say that anything we write changes the way we think, and finally he talks about how the internet
builds connections, which is essential to the spread of new ideas. Thompson s purpose is to inform
readers about how the internet is a tool being used to advance our society in order to encourage more
people to partake in online, public thinking. He adopts a contemplative tone for his audience, the
readers of The New York Times, and others interested in the topic of technology. It is my intention in
this paper to analyze the author s subclaims and use of rhetorical strategies.
In his article, Thompson claims that there is an audience effect which is causing an improvement in
writing. While talking about the important aspects of the increase in online writing, Thompson states
that, When you write something online whether it s a one sentence status update, a comment on
someone s photo, or a

Credit And Debit Card Processing Eco System
Credit and Debit card processing eco system are undergoing significant change recently due to the
advancements in the payment landscape. Disruptive technology in the mobile ecommerce space has
thrown new channels and players in the payment industry, making cards just as another channel to
make payment. Traditionally the card issuing is managed as a product line on its own from operations
and processing point of view. Most big players have dedicated platform, operations / IT teams to
support end to end cards processing needs, which includes receivable processing, customer service,
back office operation and GL reporting MIS. Addition of new form factors in the payment space have

This can lead to shared operation / IT teams between the product lines. If we shift the focus to

Banking and Card processing needs? How to achieve customer centricity, efficiently? Which system

Prenatal Care In Prisons
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, the American
Public Health Association, the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the
American Bar Association have all outlined minimal standards for pregnancy related health care in
correctional settings, and 34 states have established policies for prenatal care in the United States.
Prenatal care for women in jail is shared between the medical staff in the prison and people in the data
base. Depending on available resources at the prison, most of the time women have to be transported
for prenatal care and delivery. Some states use shackles for security purposes during the
transportation, labor, delivery, and postpartum care. Many women

Long-Term Limits
When determining how being a politician has changed since the term limits has been enacted. You
have to look at the term limits effects on chair s experience, chairs as gatekeepers, committee conflict
itself, committee chairs as conflict managers, chairs as substantive experts, committee member
experience and expertise, and information gathering by the committees. First, is the chair s experience,
it has dropped dramatically since term limits. Prior to term limits most chairs were experienced
veterans of the House. Committee chairs in the 1997 1998 Democratically controlled House had an
average of 8.9 years of prior service (approximately 4.5 sessions) and the most experienced chair had
served for 13 previous sessions. In 1995 1996, when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which is hard to do, because the chair at best might only have 6 years to serve in office and that s it
and then they are gone. So, the chair in essence has less control, because they have less experience,
which leads them to be less influential. In fact, in the term limited House more than one third of our
respondents indicated that the party leaders or caucus exerted influence over the chair s agenda
compared to less than one sixth of the pre term limits respondents. This further supports the findings
that for second term chairs both institutional changed as well as their lack of experience contribute to
their decline in control over their committees. (Sarbaugh Thompson, 2004) However, control is
concentrated at higher levels in House leadership hierarchy. In addition, the party leader and governor
increased after term limits. The party leader itself is going to dangle money towards legislators to
reelection. As for the governor, in the state of Michigan, it has a strong governor to begin with but
after term limits, they become even stronger in their position. Third, the committee conflict, the
sources of conflict increased after term limits. In Michigan, regions of the state compete with each
other for money, government projects, and other benefits; and budget constraints can intensify the
competition between regions. (Sarbaugh Thompson, 2004) Additionally, less willing to engage in
bipartisan negotiations. Even on the committee itself, not having time for trust and term limits. So, this

The mechanical properties of the welded joint are determined by the microstructural behavior of
weldmetal [2]. It is well established that alloying elements such as Ti, Ni, B, Mo, Cr etc play an
important role for microstructural development [3]. Therefore, it is very essential to manipulate the
composition of welding consumables for the optimum joint properties. Previous researchers have used
various procedures to manipulate weld metal composition. Two major approaches for improving the
WM properties are to use of different types of flux and another one is to alter WM composition by the
introduce of newer filler material or by metal powder addition in WM [4]. Generally, weldmetal
microstructure of conventional low alloy steel consists of varying amounts of acicular ferrite,
polygonal ferrite, widmanstatten ferrite and M A microphases. It has been reported that the acicular
ferrite provide the optimum microstructure to the welds because of its fine grain size, as well as
dislocation density and reducing crack propagation[2]. One of the useful methods for promoting the
acicular ferrite formation in SAW is the enrichment of various oxides into the flux such as titanium
oxide, zirconium oxide, boron oxide. These oxides in the flux may contribute to different metallic
element dissolution and oxygen into the weld [5]. Evans et al. [6] studied the effect of

Morality Is The Product Of God s Morality
Samuel Pufendorf argues that morality is the product of God s will primarily, and human will
secondly, and is directed at the peaceful organization of humanity. Moral entitities are metaphysically
superadded to physical entitites, so they are dependent on intelligent beings. Moral obligation, then, is
grounded in the command of a superior (human or divine), and commands are morally compelling due
to the dual factors of fear and respect for the just reasons behind them. Gottfried Leibniz, in contrast,
grounds morality in God s intellect. He offers two major objections to Pufendorf: first, that he
threatens the goodness of God by failing to make justice an attribute he possesses, and, second, that
his argument that justice consists in obeying a superior s command is circular since a superior has
authority in virtue of their just cause. This paper will first detail Pufendorf s position on moral
entitities, the nature of obligation, and moral necessity. Leibniz s criticisms will then be expounded,
and it will be argued that Pufendorf holds intellectualist commitments complicating the voluntarist
aspects of his philosophy. Pufendorf defines moral entities as those which are imposed onto physical
beings to direct and temper the freedom of the voluntary acts of man, and contribute to the structuring
of the universe and betterment of humanity. Moral entities are dependent, existing only in the physical
substances they are superadded to by beings with intellects.

America s Moral Codes Of The United States
Ever since the early 17th century, the Jews in Philadelphia have been striving to become an important
part of the American society, while staying true to their roots. Although the Jews faced exile from their
homelands of Portugal and Spain, they were able to build and sustain a strong Jewish community
within Philadelphia and pave the way for future generations through extensive actions throughout the
community. They built hundreds of Jewish schools, Community Centres, synagogues and established
many congregations. They became strongly involved in the American society and paved the way for
many of America s moral codes (Telushkin). There are currently 275, 850 Jews in Philadelphia,
making it one of the strongest Jewish communities in the United States (Levine). By the 15th century,
there were many Jews living in Spain and Portugal. They were well employed and were positively
involved with the Spanish government. However, their prosperity soon came to an end on July 30th,
1492, as the King of Spain ordered the Jews to leave the land, and the entire Jewish community, some
200,000 people, were expelled from Spain (Telushkin). The Jews split up almost equally, some
travelling to Italy and the others travelled Mexico and Brazil by boat (Morais 7). After spending
hundreds of years in South America, Jewish explorers found an opportunity to leave these countries
and travel to the United States for trade. In 1650, many Jews arrived in New Amsterdam, currently

A Political Activists And Author Ralph Nader
A political activists and author, Ralph Nader, wrote the book Unstoppable to give a detailed
explanation of the emerging Left Right alliance that dismantles the corporate state. Nader covers many
of the important issues that are occurring currently, and most importantly, he has explained past
occurrences that many people have looked passed. As a student, I feel as though it is important that he
explains many political things in ways where we can understand what is truly happening in the
political world. Nader explains thoroughly the potential for an enduring Left Right alliance and the
obstacles it is going to take to over come them. In chapter 4, Nader begins listing the twenty five
proposed redirections and reforms through convergent actions. I most certainly agree with Nader that
a Left Right convergence is an effective way to bring policy solutions to the list because this way
people will begin to pay attention to the listed topics. For example, Expand contributions to charity,
using them to increase jobs and drawing on available dead money (Nader page 65). There are so many
people who do not have any income coming in their family, and so it would be more than appropriate
for people to have a job and help those in need. The government has so much money that they like to
hide from the public saying that they don t have enough money yet there is no audit for the 9 billion
unaccounted for the first months of the Iraq war (Nader page 72). This is what the government

The Yellow Rose Of Texas
Texas is well known for its history throughout time. Following the history of Texas, there are many
different myths and legends. From the First Texans to the Legend of Houston, the oil industry all the
way to the myth of the Cowboy Culture. I m going to talk about just ten of these myths and legends
that I find interesting. The Yellow Rose of Texas is about a young slave woman by the name of Emily
West Morgan in the antebellum era in Texas. The myth has it that Emily was the reason that Santa
Anna lost the Battle of Jacinto, by distracting him during Houston s surprise attack. According to the
legend, Santa Anna was attracted to Emily and she uses this to help distract Santa Anna from his
military duties. Thus allowing Houston to achieve his surprise attack. This is in the reading because
there is a lot of talk whether the Yellow Rose was indeed apart of Houston s victory at the Battle of
Jacinto. The Legend of Sam Houston and his true intentions for Texas. This Legend is about Sam
Houston and his arrival in Texas in December 1832. It is said that when he arrived in Mexico, he
carried with him an American passport to identify him as an official of the United States. It seems
unlikely that he went to talk with the Comanche Indians since he has never met with them before.
Instead it is believed that Houston was sent to Mexico by President Andrew Jackson as a plan to annex
this region to the United States. Given the fact that within three months of his arrival to Texas he

Similarities Between Zoroastrianism
Zoroastrianism, founded by the prophet Zoroaster, is the oldest of the monotheistic religions that
began in ancient Persia, around 1500BC, becoming the predominant religion in the ancient Near East
during the Persian reigns of the Achaemenid, Parthian and Sasanian Empires, from 550BC to 651AD.
The following of is a list of just a few of the similarities between Zoroastrians and Judaism,
1.) Both believe that there was only one god Ormazd or Ahura Mazda, which means Wise Lord.
2.) Both religions are dualistic in that they both believe that there exist in the world both good and
back or heaven and hell.

As a result of its age numerous Judaic traditions, moral and civil laws influenced the development of
Christianity and Islam as well as other religions. As a result of Judaism s impact on those religions that
followed, Christianity and Islam, it became a significant part of the formation of the moral, civil and
legal laws used in the various cultures and civilizations of the modern world. Judaism originally began
as a religion with the Hebrews, but later evolved into a religion/ethnic culture beginning with the
children of Israel, the Israelites, Judeans and the Yehuim or Jews. Throughout the course of their
ancient history the early followers of Judaism established their own culture, became enslaved,

Danger Of A Single Story
I would like to start this paper with this short but beautiful quote from Philomena Franz, a German, If
we hate, we lose. If we love, we become rich, (Franz, 1992). It is a very simple but powerful message
that sums up in a few clear words the content of this paper. In the last few days it s been on news how
a man travelled all the way from Baltimore to New York just to kill black men. It absolutely makes no
sense. Everyone bleeds red blood; every sweat and tears according to science taste salty. It absolutely
makes no sense that the feel of ethnocentrism leads some people into committing some unspeakable
crimes. Some people should just grow up! I am opportune to be in the class of a Professor whom I

Dumbing Down
How much of a problem is the so called Dumbing down in British Journalism? Since turning into an
unmistakable piece of present day human culture, the media has dependably been a wellspring of
debate. Particularly, journalism has often been accused as being the protagonist in the so called
dumbing down of society. Usually used as a derogatory term, dumbing down is the simplifying and
diluting of a subject towards the lowest common denominator. In other words, it s used to describe the
lack of definition between what is considered high culture, usually referring to the classical arts and
relating to the rich upper class, and pop culture, a more ephemeral and commercial forum seen as
inferior to that of high culture. In this essay, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Erasmus Praise Of Folly Essay
Humor and Criticism in Erasmuss Praise of Folly Humor and Criticism in Praise of Folly
Erasmus s Praise of Folly is a humor filled satire of pretty much everything. It is filled with wit and
sarcasm which make light of serious problems and blow insignificant issues out of proportion all the
while bringing a smile to the reader s face. It is not stinging humor at the expense of others (unless, of
course, the shoe fits), rather it is directed towards everyone. Erasmus even includes himself in the
joke, practically parodying himself in the first section (xvi). In Praise of Folly, Erasmus uses this
humor to criticize without the harsh judgment of seriousness. His humor parallels the import of his
subject. When Folly discusses the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is why Folly asks her audience to listen not with the ears you use for preachers of sermons, but
the ears you usually prick up for mountebanks, clowns, and fools (10). Humor in this situation lowers
the defenses of one who might otherwise take offense to Erasmus s criticism. He chose Folly to carry
his message because truth has a genuine power to please if it manages not to give offence, but this is
something the gods have granted only to fools (57). He does not single out specific individuals or limit

Erasmus even includes himself as a subject of this whimsical criticism showing that it is meant to be

The Impact of Large Aircraft on Aircraft Management Essay
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) aircraft certification, a large aircraft refers to
an aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds which is the maximum certificated takeoff weight. The
heaviest and largest aircraft in the world have a maximum takeoff weight of over 600 tons. Since
larger aircraft have greater capacity, as well as advanced technological features, airport management
needs to make changes that cater to their operation. The first reaction of management at large airports
was to restrict the new, large aircraft by assigning them to specific terminals, routes and runways.
However, this led to delays and air traffic congestion. Given the growing number of new, large
aircraft, the only safe and efficient way to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This new standard calls for taxiways and runways to be widened, along with taxiways to taxiways and
the runways to taxiways.
Although the arrival of these new aircraft has eased airport congestion and continues to meet
passenger needs, it presents numerous challenges for airport management. As a result, various changes
have been made and others are to be put into effect. The super jumbo is 400,000 pounds heavier, 11
feet longer, 41 feet wider and 15 feet taller than Boeing jumbo jets (Yeamans, 2006). This aircraft,
then, requires longer and wider landing space, and airport management has increased airport pavement
areas. Where existing land did not allow for expansion, additional land has been identified and new
airports constructed.
Similarly, the increase in the number of passengers has created a need for more gate hold rooms. New,
large aircraft have significantly affected passenger flow, in terms of the queuing network system (Chiu
and Walton, 2003). In some airports, adjacent gates may not operate when large planes, such as the
super jumbo and the A380, are loading and unloading. Gate capacities have increased more than
twofold in airports that have large aircraft. In order to maintain their services, then, many airport
managements have increased their number of gate hold rooms.
Airports have also expanded the capacity of baggage handling, concourses, ticket

The History of Alcatraz
Life on Alcatraz Prison was not as bad as the people described it to be. For the prisoners Living on

Each prisoner swept his cell clean, dressed, and then stood ready for head count. Then all marches to

The food on Alcatraz was better than other prison foods in America. The prisoners wore also given the

The dominant logic of marketing is shifting from the exchange of goods toward service, interactivity,
connectivity and ongoing relationships (Vargo and Lusch 2004).
Technological innovations, new channels, and changing media environments facilitate this shift
(Bhattacharya and Bolton 2000), and the question of how firms should interact with their customers is
gaining in importance, especially as firms consider the cost differences between traditional
communications media, such as television and sales forces, and electronic media, such as the Web and
email (Reinartz et al. 2005). The cost efficiency and interactivity of digital channels facilitate ongoing
dialogue between the enterprise and the customer (see e.g.
Deighton and Barwise 2000; Peppers and Rogers 2004). Marketers can now be in touch with their
customers on a more frequent basis and increase the level of personalization and interactivity with low
or non excessive cost. Our main claim is that being frequently in touch with customers should help
achieve positive effects on customer loyalty.
For instance, customers can be offered additional information and brand communication when buying

Motivate, Delegate and Empower

Review own ability to motivate, delegate and empower others
For any business to be successful it needs motivated employees. They are the single most important
factor in the long term success of an organisation.
Empowerment refers to the employee s feeling of being effective, in control and influential.
Furthermore, empowerment positively impacts motivation, and motivation leads to better
performance.
Maslow s hierarchy of needs provides a foundational theory. It states that all employees have some
basic needs that must first be satisfied in order to provide the framework for further motivation and
empowerment.
There are five levels in the hierarchy: * Physiological needs * Safety and security needs * Love or ...

Herzberg showed that to truly motivate an employee a business needs to create conditions that make
him or her feel fulfilled in the workplace.
Delegation is one of the most important management skills as it empowers the team member to make
decisions. However, the person who delegated the work remains accountable for the outcome of the
delegated work.
Delegation can save money and time, help in building skills, and motivate people. Poor delegation, on
the other hand, might cause frustration and confusion to all the involved parties.
Tannenbaum amp; Schmidt defined 7 levels of delegated freedom which moves from manager
oriented to subordinate oriented. As the team develops, the area of freedom for the subordinate
increases and the need for the manager s intervention decreases.
Within my team I have tried to improve motivation through several initiatives:
One member of my team seemed to be becoming disillusioned with her role and so I spent some time
with her trying to establish the root cause of this.
Having asked several questions I established that she felt bored with her daily routine and wanted a
fresh challenge.
I took notes of our meeting and produced a plan with her which involved a gradual phasing in of more

strategic, distinctive capability (Davenport). Over 20 lines of businesses are housed underneath
Aramark s umbrella and each line is given a tool that specifically caters to their function. For example,
the finance department within Aramark relies upon the use of the Oracle database to store important
data such as sales and expenses. Out of its three competitors, what sets Aramark apart is its focus on
the bottom line. From a high level point of view, finance can assess where gaps are happening within
the organization and help manage the growing expense line. Next, the second step is that the approach
and management of analytics has become enterprise wide (Davenport). Before marching to Wall Street
with an IPO in 2013 (Reuters), Aramark invested in a tool called QlikView, which is a dashboard tool
that helps users perform their own data discovery. After making waves within the organization,
QlikView has been used by virtually every line of business within Aramark. It has the ability to pull

Who Is Wang Lung s Life In The Good Earth

The Supreme Being of the North
During the early 1900s in China, it was difficult for people of the lower class to rise out of poverty. It
was a time where the rich got richer, while the poor got poorer. Even so, in the novel, The Good Earth,
when Wang Lung is thrown into penury, he manages to rise to become prosperous. He owes his
accomplishments to the land because as a farmer, it s the land that continues to feed his family and
brings him wealth. The land itself is not a character in The Good Earth, but even so, it plays a major
role in Wang Lung s life. The land is described as a supreme being in the novel because it brings Wang
Lung success and affluence, purifies him and controls his life. Firstly for Wang Lung, as farmer, the
land is like a supreme being because it controls his wealth. It is what keeps the family from starving

Depending on the mood of the land, Wang Lung s life fluctuates. Namely, when the land is in a good
mood, Wang Lung s life is put in great prosperity. The fertile soil gives him great harvest and allows
his family to live in comfort. But when the land is in a bad mood, it s an utterly different story. For
example, when a great drought falls on Wang Lung s village, ... the fields, although Wang Lung
cultivated them desperately, dried and cracked ... when they found nothing coming from the soil or the
sky for them, ceased their growing and stood motionless... (70). This shows that the land controls
Wang Lung life because this drought causes Wang Lung and his family to move to the South. In
conclusion, the land could make Wang Lung live a resplendent life or half starved. This shows that in
the novel, the land is like a supreme being because it affects a man s life so severely that it is much

Mahan s Influence On Alfred Maan
Alfred Mahan is a graduate from Naval Academy, whose thoughts have major impacts on the structure
of the Navy in 19th century. The influence of historical events have a particular effect in his naval
strategy.
In his new science of naval strategy, Mahan gave quite an importance to Naval communications, and
control of these communications. He even contends that interrupting adversaries communications is
the root of national power. He contends that the strategic points of high importance
In addition to that, Mahan contended that the organized forces of the enemy should be the primary

Mahan contended the necessity of focusing the fleet in particular points to confront the enemy
strongly, instead of doing commerce raiding. This new system was the main reason of creation of
many battle ships. As the US was a maritime country, the creation of extra number of ships should not
be into disadvantage to a country surrounded by waters.
As Mahan contended, there was supposed to be sufficient battleships for the protection of three waters
surrounding the country, after that, it was time to spread the sea power to all around the world by
bringing together the land forces with maritime foces. In other words, Mahan created the idea of
having soldiers ready for the interest of the nation all around the world, which is still being used by
the Navy and Marine corps.
And finally, in the writing, it is criticized that the new ideas of Mahan caused problems in the
organization of the Navy, which later caused the Navy to have structural changes. This point should be
considered as another improvement from the new navy strategy of Mahan since a new system brings
together new improvements, but gradually.
All in all, Mahan was a leader of development, and no one can argue that the US Navy is still using
the inheritances from Mahan in terms of naval

Economic and Monetary Union (Emu)
History In June 1988 the European Council confirmed the objective of the progressive realization of
Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). It mandated a committee chaired by Jacques Delors, the then
President of the European Commission, to study and propose concrete stages leading to this union.
Economic and monetary union evolved in three discrete but evolutionary steps.
First step On the basis of the Delors Report, the European Council decided in June 1989 that the first
stage of the realisation of economic and monetary union should begin on 1 July 1990. On this date, in
principle, all restrictions on the movement of capital between Member States were abolished.

was mainly based on detailed proposals elaborated by the EMI
At the same time, the EMI was given the task of carrying out preparatory work on the future monetary
and exchange rate relationships between the euro area and other EU countries. In December 1996 the
EMI presented its report to the European Council, which formed the basis of a Resolution of the
European Council on the principles and fundamental elements of the new exchange rate mechanism
(ERM II), which was adopted in June 1997.
Third step On 1 January 1999 final stage of EMU commenced with the irrevocable fixing of the
exchange rates of the currencies of the 11 Member States initially participating in Monetary Union
and with the conduct of a single monetary policy under the responsibility of the ECB.
The number of participating Member States increased to 12 on 1 January 2001, when Greece entered
the third stage of EMU. Since that day the Bank of Greece has been part of the Eurosystem. Greece s
participation followed a decision taken on 19 June 2000 by the EU Council – meeting in the
composition of the Heads of State or Government – that Greece fulfilled the convergence criteria.

How Did Stalin Influence American Culture
After World War Two, Stalin s Iron Curtain descended across Europe. This was an attempt by him to
isolate and shield the Soviet Union from Western and non Soviet controlled areas. Above all, Stalin
and other Soviet leaders feared influence from The United States. Their fear was quite justified, as
Soviet people became incredibly curious and eager to borrow and emulate American culture. Similar
fears were present in other communist Eastern European countries in the Eastern Bloc. Despite Stalin
s and communist leaders attempt at isolation, Eastern European people were still able to breach the
Iron Curtain and learn about Western ideas and culture. Culture in the Eastern Bloc became dominated
by American taste and culture as early as the 1940s, but it wasn t until the 1970s that rock music began
to dominate the scene. The influence of rock and rock in Soviet music can be seen as early as 1957.

I chose to read the book, The Goal by Eliyahu M. Goldratt. The book is about a plant manager, Alex

the Theory of Constraints. I can see the benefits of this book in different areas, not only in the ability
to increase productivity in any company, but also using the ideas in all other areas of your life. I
personally had a difficult time understanding this book. It took me reading it, then going back and re
reading part of it, to really understand how to apply the concepts. However, I do finally get it. The two
key things that I enjoyed about the book are dependent events in relation to statistical fluctuations and
bottlenecks vs non bottlenecks. When reading the chapter about dependent events in relation to
statistical fluctuations , Goldratt use the example of a Boy Scouts hiking trip, where the slowest boy
was in the back, and one of the faster boys were in the front. One would think that this was a great
idea and would help them get to their destination fast, but in reality it did the exact opposite. It made
the process much slower, because the boy in the front set the pace for the rest of the group, but
because the rest of the group had slower paces, they were unable to keep up with the demand, if you

Considerations For Effective Organizational Change
What Is Organizational Change?
Organizational change is the term used to describe the transformation process that a company goes
through in response to a strategic reorientation, restructure, change in management, merger or
acquisition or the development of new goals and objectives for the company. The realignment of
resources and the redeployment of capital can bring many challenges during the transformation
process and organizational change management seeks to address this by adopting best practice
standards to assist with the integration of new company vision.
Organizational change is not just change for the sake of change itself. The major precursor for
organizational change is some form of exogenous force such as an external ... Show more content on

If workers don t embrace or see the reason for change, resentment and resistance can occur You have
to emphasize the positive reason for the change and convey it to the workers. This way, improve the
chances of support.
For effective organizational change, you should create a transition management team. You should also
select a change leader from every department and conduct regular meetings. This will comprise the
transition team that can drive the change initiatives and help facilitate and implement the initiatives
throughout the various departments. This also provides a support structure for the initiatives.
Resources should be provided to the transition management team.
Additional Considerations For Effective Organizational Structure:
Evaluation of the aesthetic appeal is essential for effective organizational change. The plan should be
clear defined goals and rationale and should be concise. Ensure that the decision makers within the
organization are onboard. Any change in the policy affects the operation of the organization which
needs broad approval at some levels.
Ensure you adequately define the nature of the changes. This will help team members and employees
to interpret the core objectives.
You should measure whether the change has taken place or not. Often this process is neglected but to
ensure effective organizational change you need to have predefined benchmarks to measure
implementation progress.

The reactive algorithm turns the water pump on only if the soil moisture falls below a certain

This can be compared to high temperatures of 22 degrees Celsius and low temperatures of 18 degrees
Celsius in the indoor environment. The reduced temperature variation helps to protect the plants from
the extreme weather conditions that the proactive, smart algorithm is able to compensate for.
However, since extreme environments would be difficult to reproduce accurately, this factor was not
considered for this test. Additionally, because the temperature variation would be applied equally to
each of the environments, it was deemed a non significant factor for the purposes of this test.
Rain however, was deemed a significant factor for this test. This test is centered on the water usage of
the system and as a result, it is important to see the effect of rain on the system. To accurately simulate
rain, 20mL of water was dispensed to each of the environments on the 3rd day of the test. The water
was dispensed using a measuring cup containing the set amount of water. The weather data was also
spoofed to change the weather status to rain. This was accomplished by replacing the weather JSON
file that would have been requested from openweather.org, with a fake weather JSON file with the
spoofed values. Finally, it should be noted that the sensor module pushes new data to the Webserver at
a rate of one packet every minute. Since the Webserver only updates the turn water on command when

Essay on Constantinople s Fall
Diocletian s reforms established the rule of four, called the Tetrarchy, where in four emperors
controlled the newly redistricted Roman Empire. Unbeknownst to Diocletian this particular reform
would be a recipe for civil war. In the year 306, one year after Diocletian abdicated, Constantine I
elevated to imperial rule over the western Empire after the passing of his father and then Augustus;
Constantius. During Constantine s reign he quickly gained popularity and consolidated his power
while the rest of the emperors competed and quarreled amongst each other. Eventually the empire was
overtaken strategically by two emperors Licinius and Constantine. This peace did not last long
however, and in the year of 324 Licinius surrendered to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Constantinople s evident luxury was not the most surprising aspect of this metropolis, but its ability to
endure was. By medieval standards it was a huge city, with something around 375,000 inhabitants in
1200 (Harris 108). Constantine the Great introduced a new gold coin called the solidus that was made
standard for not only Byzantium but all of the Mediterranean. To keep this infrastructure going, the
tried and true taxation of the people was a necessity. In any instance taxation is a burden but paying
taxes insured circulation of even the most valuable of coins to any ones hand. Value and rarity also
drove policy making in this area of the Mediterranean, so much so that garments and fabrics were
reserved for classes of society and in extreme cases solely to the Byzantines. Concisely
Constantinople and its wealth have sustained due to its prime trade route real estate and its goods, the
inhabitants not only knew this but let it instigated their social conceptions of themselves. Culture in
Constantinople was an amazing thing; artist, writers, and architects exerted a powerful cultural pull
and dominated economic life in the Mediterranean. Travelers and merchants were especially spurred
by the monasteries and churches. Hagia Sophia or the Church of Holy Wisdom A Russian 14th century
traveler, Stephen of Novgorod, wrote, As for St Sophia, the human mind can neither tell it nor make

Personality Of Princess Diana
Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day
someone might do the same for you (Graham). Princess Diana showed that one random act of
kindness might be returned one day if you decide to put someone else s needs and values before yours.
This quote depicts how much the public and their needs mean to Diana. Diana is an important person
in this day and age because of all her accomplishments and her positive public role in England, while
still living a powerful and happy private life. Princess Diana was born into a privileged family on July
1, 1961. She grew up living in a Park House, which was a country home leased from the Royal Family

Misalignment Of Teeth Essay
Orthodontist Offers Solutions in Brick, NJ
One of the most well known branches of dentistry is orthodontics. The focus is aligning the teeth for
appearance and functionality. An orthodontist will work to align your jaw, lips, and teeth.
Straight teeth make chewing and talking easier. They are maintained more easily than crooked teeth.
Crooked or crowded teeth can be difficult to clean. That can lead to gum disease, tooth decay, and loss
of teeth.
Another major benefit of straight teeth is that they endure longer overall. This makes orthodontic
treatment a lifetime investment.
Orthodontic problems include excessive wear of gum tissue and dental surfaces. This can affect
chewing function and cause misalignment of the jaw. Misalignment may also affect the underlying

Otherwise, you could experience tooth decay and gum disease.
Overbite This is when the upper teeth extend over the lower teeth. When left untreated, an overbite
may cause gum irritation and other problems. It could also result in excessive lower tooth wear and
jaw pain.
Underbite This term describes lower teeth that extend past the upper teeth. This condition can stem
from overgrowth of the lower jaw. It may also result from undergrowth of the upper jaw. Failure to
address the issue can cause tooth wear and jaw pain.
Crossbite This is due to misalignment of the upper and lower jaw. The misalignment adversely affects
the bite. Ultimately, the issue may lead to bone loss and gum disease if not treated.
Wide Spaces Between Teeth When the jaw bone grows abnormally, wide spaces between teeth may
form. Missing teeth may cause extra space. This issue can be a precursor of gum disease.
Your orthodontist can work with you to create the right treatment plan. You will need a custom
designed program to manage your individual dental irregularities. Your treatment program should
consist of an appliance made specifically for

The Smallpox Virus
Smallpox is one of the most lethal virus known to man. It is devastating to individual systems, and it s
high level of contagion makes it a major threat to populations, as seen historically, before mass
vaccination was available. For many years before an understanding about the virus was developed,
thousands suffered and died from it, with no relief except perhaps that of a comforting nurse. As
scientific inquiry advanced, so did the approach to dealing with the virus, beginning with its primitive
inoculation, to it s eradication from the natural environment. In recent years, the study of the virus has
lead to harnessing it in the laboratory with the constant threat of biological warfare. The virus now

6). For the most part, following the release of the vaccine, population growth has increased
significantly. However, it became evident that those people living in wealthy countries and households
had greater access to the smallpox vaccine as many of the reported cases were located in rural, low
socio economic areas of the world (Henderson Benard, ch. 6). A study of first world populations, that
is, Europe and North America, shows that life expectancy has increased in England, France and the
United States by as much as thirty years since the year 1900 (Fogel, 2004). Furthermore, the last
recorded case of smallpox occurred in Somalia in 1977 and the last recorded case in the United States
occurred in 1949 (Fauci, 2002). Finally, in May, 1980, the World Health Organization declared that the
smallpox virus had been removed from the global

An Important Part Of Interpersonal Communication
Feedback is known to be an important part of interpersonal communication. It lets speakers know
what impact their words are having. When others have an opportunity to respond, a dialogue is created
and the content of the messages can be adjusted, or even improved. This dynamic is applied every day
in health care settings. Medical professionals rely on feedback throughout their careers to enhance the
quality care they provide. Patients enter clinics and emergency rooms seeking feedback from
physicians about what is happening to their bodies. Together, medical staff and patients must depend
on feedback to reach a diagnosis and find the best course of treatment. Physicians and other medical
staff collectively examine patients: recording their vitals, taking an accurate history, and performing a
thorough review of certain body systems. All of this is done based on the patients chief complaints.
Their bodies are sending feedback signals, trying to tell them something is wrong, such as an infection
like pneumonia. Patients cannot interpret this feedback themselves, so they seek medical services to
further examine them. Sometimes the feedback patients bodies send is not very clear. Many diagnoses
share signs and symptoms, so physicians should consider other factors as well. The patient may have
other conditions that put them at particular risk for other problems to arise. If physicians or staff fail to
further investigate in these situations, a potential for serious consequences

Executive Summary Kudler Fine Foods is a local retailer of gourmet foods and ingredients. Through

restaurants. Since their inception, Kudler Fine Foods has strived to provide the very best customer

Kudler also has also expressed the desire to make the website easier to maintain. Currently, with the
website in its hard coded state, making small changes can turn out to be a fairly difficult. Ultimately,
Kudler Fine Foods would like to add additional functionality of allowing users to browse store
inventory online and perhaps shop online. However, this does require that Kudler s current website be
redesigned in order to facilitate ease of ongoing maintenance of inventory since the current design,
while capable of providing such functionality, would require tremendously more laborious effort to
maintain.
Web Site Maintenance Site maintenance for the current Kudler Fine Foods is very difficult given the
hard coded design that was initially chosen. Given new standards of web design and development, and
considering Kudler s desire to provide a more attractive and useful website, it would be the
recommendation of Learning Team D that Kudler Fine Foods embrace new technology by
incorporating Java Server Pages (JSP) connected to their existing product database. Expanding the
current product database to include cross references to an image table would enable a site template to
be developed for the consistent display of Kudler products in a familiar and easily navigatable page.
Incorporating cascading style sheets (CSS) will further decrease ongoing maintenance by setting a

These creatures have a similar appearances and behaviors as animals in the feline family. Fossas have retractable claws and catlike teeth to help it capture its food when stalking in the trees or on the ground, weather it be day or night. The Fossas ancestor, the original ancestor of the Eupleridae family, is unknown. But through its ancestors, the Fossa is related to Mongooses. Grandidier s Mongooses Also known as the Giant Striped Mongoose, the Grandidier s Mongoose is a hard creature to find. The Image result for grandidier s mongoosetemperature in Madagascar is very hot and humid, so to keep cool the mongoose adapted itself to burrow during the day and hunt during the night, and unlike other mongooses, the Grandidier is very large. The Fast Fashion Industry Imagine having to wake up everyday knowing that you have the tough task as a child going to the factory just to go a make fabric and clothing for people you do not even know. Just because they want more. When there is a high demand for goods from consumers in order to get more there needs to be more factories and workers in order to produce more.Consumers are the main reason for the goods being ethically produced. They are the ones who want the product , so when they ask for more companies have no choice but build more and do it quickly and once they are built so fast the environment also suffers. For example , in Bangladesh Factory are being produced so quickly that and end up not being as stable as it is suppose to be. Hundreds of factories ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example in the article How your addiction to fashion kills the author Susan Scafidi uses three of the appeals used in order to tell help people see what a high demand for products can do. For example the author uses logos in order to explain to us how we are able to get goods so fast from cheap labor. In the article it states The reason we have fast fashion is the cheap exploited labor around the world, said Cline. She estimates that less than 10% of what we re wearing... was made in factories where people were paid a living wage and working in safe and legal conditions. This explains that we rarely wear clothes that was produced from safe and good paying factories. As consumers we should turn the heat down and let it simmer for a minute. Is it really fair to workers who make most of our clothes? Scafidi also states Yet with the demand for fast fashion an all time high, more and more clothes are being made in the kinds of conditions that morally offend a lot of people in the Western world and without these kinds of well publicized tragedies, shoppers don t even think about it. Scafidi displays the use of pathos in order to help us feel and understand that we do not agree or support how people are enrolled into harsh labor , yet we continue and fail to realize what is going on until tragedies like the Bangladesh factory collapse occurs. As consumers Scafidi wants us ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Rhetorical Analysis Of Public Thinking Danny Reyes Professor Crane RWS100 28 September 2015 Rhetorical Analysis of Public Thinking Journalist, Clive Thompson in his book, Smarter Than You Think , specifically in the chapter titled, Public Thinking , published on September 12, 2013, addresses the topic of technology and argues that because of the internet, we are doing more writing now than ever. Therefore technology is helping us think publicly in new and improved ways. He supports this claim by asserting that there is an improvement in our writing, which is happening because of the audience effect , he then goes on to say that anything we write changes the way we think, and finally he talks about how the internet builds connections, which is essential to the spread of new ideas. Thompson s purpose is to inform readers about how the internet is a tool being used to advance our society in order to encourage more people to partake in online, public thinking. He adopts a contemplative tone for his audience, the readers of The New York Times, and others interested in the topic of technology. It is my intention in this paper to analyze the author s subclaims and use of rhetorical strategies. In his article, Thompson claims that there is an audience effect which is causing an improvement in writing. While talking about the important aspects of the increase in online writing, Thompson states that, When you write something online whether it s a one sentence status update, a comment on someone s photo, or a ... • 7. Long-Term Limits When determining how being a politician has changed since the term limits has been enacted. You have to look at the term limits effects on chair s experience, chairs as gatekeepers, committee conflict itself, committee chairs as conflict managers, chairs as substantive experts, committee member experience and expertise, and information gathering by the committees. First, is the chair s experience, it has dropped dramatically since term limits. Prior to term limits most chairs were experienced veterans of the House. Committee chairs in the 1997 1998 Democratically controlled House had an average of 8.9 years of prior service (approximately 4.5 sessions) and the most experienced chair had served for 13 previous sessions. In 1995 1996, when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Which is hard to do, because the chair at best might only have 6 years to serve in office and that s it and then they are gone. So, the chair in essence has less control, because they have less experience, which leads them to be less influential. In fact, in the term limited House more than one third of our respondents indicated that the party leaders or caucus exerted influence over the chair s agenda compared to less than one sixth of the pre term limits respondents. This further supports the findings that for second term chairs both institutional changed as well as their lack of experience contribute to their decline in control over their committees. (Sarbaugh Thompson, 2004) However, control is concentrated at higher levels in House leadership hierarchy. In addition, the party leader and governor increased after term limits. The party leader itself is going to dangle money towards legislators to reelection. As for the governor, in the state of Michigan, it has a strong governor to begin with but after term limits, they become even stronger in their position. Third, the committee conflict, the sources of conflict increased after term limits. In Michigan, regions of the state compete with each other for money, government projects, and other benefits; and budget constraints can intensify the competition between regions. (Sarbaugh Thompson, 2004) Additionally, less willing to engage in bipartisan negotiations. Even on the committee itself, not having time for trust and term limits. The mechanical properties of the welded joint are determined by the microstructural behavior of weldmetal [2]. It is well established that alloying elements such as Ti, Ni, B, Mo, Cr etc play an important role for microstructural development [3]. Therefore, it is very essential to manipulate the composition of welding consumables for the optimum joint properties. Previous researchers have used various procedures to manipulate weld metal composition. Two major approaches for improving the WM properties are to use of different types of flux and another one is to alter WM composition by the introduce of newer filler material or by metal powder addition in WM [4]. Generally, weldmetal microstructure of conventional low alloy steel consists of varying amounts of acicular ferrite, polygonal ferrite, widmanstatten ferrite and M A microphases. It has been reported that the acicular ferrite provide the optimum microstructure to the welds because of its fine grain size, as well as dislocation density and reducing crack propagation[2]. One of the useful methods for promoting the acicular ferrite formation in SAW is the enrichment of various oxides into the flux such as titanium oxide, zirconium oxide, boron oxide. These oxides in the flux may contribute to different metallic element dissolution and oxygen into the weld [5]. Evans et al. [6] studied the effect of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Morality Is The Product Of God s Morality Samuel Pufendorf argues that morality is the product of God s will primarily, and human will secondly, and is directed at the peaceful organization of humanity. Moral entitities are metaphysically superadded to physical entitites, so they are dependent on intelligent beings. Moral obligation, then, is grounded in the command of a superior (human or divine), and commands are morally compelling due to the dual factors of fear and respect for the just reasons behind them. Gottfried Leibniz, in contrast, grounds morality in God s intellect. He offers two major objections to Pufendorf: first, that he threatens the goodness of God by failing to make justice an attribute he possesses, and, second, that his argument that justice consists in obeying a superior s command is circular since a superior has authority in virtue of their just cause. This paper will first detail Pufendorf s position on moral entitities, the nature of obligation, and moral necessity. Leibniz s criticisms will then be expounded, and it will be argued that Pufendorf holds intellectualist commitments complicating the voluntarist aspects of his philosophy. Pufendorf defines moral entities as those which are imposed onto physical beings to direct and temper the freedom of the voluntary acts of man, and contribute to the structuring of the universe and betterment of humanity. Moral entities are dependent, existing only in the physical substances they are superadded to by beings with intellects. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. America s Moral Codes Of The United States Ever since the early 17th century, the Jews in Philadelphia have been striving to become an important part of the American society, while staying true to their roots. Although the Jews faced exile from their homelands of Portugal and Spain, they were able to build and sustain a strong Jewish community within Philadelphia and pave the way for future generations through extensive actions throughout the community. They built hundreds of Jewish schools, Community Centres, synagogues and established many congregations. They became strongly involved in the American society and paved the way for many of America s moral codes (Telushkin). There are currently 275, 850 Jews in Philadelphia, making it one of the strongest Jewish communities in the United States (Levine). By the 15th century, there were many Jews living in Spain and Portugal. They were well employed and were positively involved with the Spanish government. However, their prosperity soon came to an end on July 30th, 1492, as the King of Spain ordered the Jews to leave the land, and the entire Jewish community, some 200,000 people, were expelled from Spain (Telushkin). The Jews split up almost equally, some travelling to Italy and the others travelled Mexico and Brazil by boat (Morais 7). • 12. A Political Activists And Author Ralph Nader A political activists and author, Ralph Nader, wrote the book Unstoppable to give a detailed explanation of the emerging Left Right alliance that dismantles the corporate state. Nader covers many of the important issues that are occurring currently, and most importantly, he has explained past occurrences that many people have looked passed. As a student, I feel as though it is important that he explains many political things in ways where we can understand what is truly happening in the political world. Nader explains thoroughly the potential for an enduring Left Right alliance and the obstacles it is going to take to over come them. In chapter 4, Nader begins listing the twenty five proposed redirections and reforms through convergent actions. I most certainly agree with Nader that a Left Right convergence is an effective way to bring policy solutions to the list because this way people will begin to pay attention to the listed topics. For example, Expand contributions to charity, using them to increase jobs and drawing on available dead money (Nader page 65). There are so many people who do not have any income coming in their family, and so it would be more than appropriate for people to have a job and help those in need. • 13. The Yellow Rose Of Texas Texas is well known for its history throughout time. Following the history of Texas, there are many different myths and legends. From the First Texans to the Legend of Houston, the oil industry all the way to the myth of the Cowboy Culture. I m going to talk about just ten of these myths and legends that I find interesting. The Yellow Rose of Texas is about a young slave woman by the name of Emily West Morgan in the antebellum era in Texas. The myth has it that Emily was the reason that Santa Anna lost the Battle of Jacinto, by distracting him during Houston s surprise attack. According to the legend, Santa Anna was attracted to Emily and she uses this to help distract Santa Anna from his military duties. Thus allowing Houston to achieve his surprise attack. This is in the reading because there is a lot of talk whether the Yellow Rose was indeed apart of Houston s victory at the Battle of Jacinto. The Legend of Sam Houston and his true intentions for Texas. This Legend is about Sam Houston and his arrival in Texas in December 1832. It is said that when he arrived in Mexico, he carried with him an American passport to identify him as an official of the United States. It seems unlikely that he went to talk with the Comanche Indians since he has never met with them before. Instead it is believed that Houston was sent to Mexico by President Andrew Jackson as a plan to annex this region to the United States. Since turning into an unmistakable piece of present day human culture, the media has dependably been a wellspring of debate. Particularly, journalism has often been accused as being the protagonist in the so called dumbing down of society. Usually used as a derogatory term, dumbing down is the simplifying and diluting of a subject towards the lowest common denominator. Erasmus Praise Of Folly Essay Humor and Criticism in Erasmuss Praise of Folly Humor and Criticism in Praise of Folly Erasmus s Praise of Folly is a humor filled satire of pretty much everything. It is filled with wit and sarcasm which make light of serious problems and blow insignificant issues out of proportion all the while bringing a smile to the reader s face. It is not stinging humor at the expense of others (unless, of course, the shoe fits), rather it is directed towards everyone. Erasmus even includes himself in the joke, practically parodying himself in the first section (xvi). He chose Folly to carry his message because truth has a genuine power to please if it manages not to give offence, but this is something the gods have granted only to fools (57). He does not single out specific individuals or limit himself to specific groups of people; he includes almost everybody. Only the fools who personify the lightheartedness and happiness that are the essence of Erasmus s comedy escape this criticism. Erasmus even includes himself as a subject of this whimsical criticism showing that it is meant to be constructive not harshly judgmental as it was taken by his many critics. His criticisms of wise men, Seneca, women, and pedantry all apply to himself and he jokes about them all (xvi). He knows that, in her first and most humorous voice, Folly is criticizing aspects of life that are of small significance in comparison to her later targets, and Erasmus takes no shame in admitting his participation in such minor foolishness. The Impact of Large Aircraft on Aircraft Management Essay According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) aircraft certification, a large aircraft refers to an aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds which is the maximum certificated takeoff weight. The heaviest and largest aircraft in the world have a maximum takeoff weight of over 600 tons. Since larger aircraft have greater capacity, as well as advanced technological features, airport management needs to make changes that cater to their operation. This new standard calls for taxiways and runways to be widened, along with taxiways to taxiways and the runways to taxiways. Although the arrival of these new aircraft has eased airport congestion and continues to meet passenger needs, it presents numerous challenges for airport management. As a result, various changes have been made and others are to be put into effect. The super jumbo is 400,000 pounds heavier, 11 feet longer, 41 feet wider and 15 feet taller than Boeing jumbo jets (Yeamans, 2006). This aircraft, then, requires longer and wider landing space, and airport management has increased airport pavement areas. Where existing land did not allow for expansion, additional land has been identified and new airports constructed. Similarly, the increase in the number of passengers has created a need for more gate hold rooms. New, large aircraft have significantly affected passenger flow, in terms of the queuing network system (Chiu and Walton, 2003). In some airports, adjacent gates may not operate when large planes, such as the super jumbo and the A380, are loading and unloading. The dominant logic of marketing is shifting from the exchange of goods toward service, interactivity, connectivity and ongoing relationships (Vargo and Lusch 2004). Technological innovations, new channels, and changing media environments facilitate this shift (Bhattacharya and Bolton 2000), and the question of how firms should interact with their customers is gaining in importance, especially as firms consider the cost differences between traditional communications media, such as television and sales forces, and electronic media, such as the Web and email (Reinartz et al. 2005). The cost efficiency and interactivity of digital channels facilitate ongoing dialogue between the enterprise and the customer (see e.g. Deighton and Barwise 2000; Peppers and Rogers 2004). Marketers can now be in touch with their customers on a more frequent basis and increase the level of personalization and interactivity with low or non excessive cost. Third step On 1 January 1999 final stage of EMU commenced with the irrevocable fixing of the exchange rates of the currencies of the 11 Member States initially participating in Monetary Union and with the conduct of a single monetary policy under the responsibility of the ECB. The number of participating Member States increased to 12 on 1 January 2001, when Greece entered the third stage of EMU. Since that day the Bank of Greece has been part of the Eurosystem. Greece s participation followed a decision taken on 19 June 2000 by the EU Council – meeting in the composition of the Heads of State or Government – that Greece fulfilled the convergence criteria. Advantages of the EMU: • the costs decrease in transactions with the countries of the euro zone, • reduction of the degree of uncertainty among the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. How Did Stalin Influence American Culture After World War Two, Stalin s Iron Curtain descended across Europe. This was an attempt by him to isolate and shield the Soviet Union from Western and non Soviet controlled areas. Above all, Stalin and other Soviet leaders feared influence from The United States. Their fear was quite justified, as Soviet people became incredibly curious and eager to borrow and emulate American culture. Similar fears were present in other communist Eastern European countries in the Eastern Bloc. Despite Stalin s and communist leaders attempt at isolation, Eastern European people were still able to breach the Iron Curtain and learn about Western ideas and culture. Culture in the Eastern Bloc became dominated by American taste and culture as early as the 1940s, but it wasn t until the 1970s that rock music began to dominate the scene. The influence of rock and rock in Soviet music can be seen as early as 1957. Prior to this, jazz music had been the popular form of music. At the VI World Youth Festival in Moscow, visiting performers played songs titled Crazy Rhythm and Rock n Roll 1. The journal Soviet Culture printed letters from attendants who complained the ... • 39. The Goal By Eliyahu M. A Brief I chose to read the book, The Goal by Eliyahu M. Goldratt. The book is about a plant manager, Alex Rogo, who is trying to save his plant from getting shut down by using the help of physicist, Jonah, and the Theory of Constraints. I can see the benefits of this book in different areas, not only in the ability to increase productivity in any company, but also using the ideas in all other areas of your life. I personally had a difficult time understanding this book. It took me reading it, then going back and re reading part of it, to really understand how to apply the concepts. However, I do finally get it. The two key things that I enjoyed about the book are dependent events in relation to statistical fluctuations and bottlenecks vs non bottlenecks. When reading the chapter about dependent events in relation to statistical fluctuations , Goldratt use the example of a Boy Scouts hiking trip, where the slowest boy was in the back, and one of the faster boys were in the front. One would think that this was a great idea and would help them get to their destination fast, but in reality it did the exact opposite. It made the process much slower, because the boy in the front set the pace for the rest of the group, but because the rest of the group had slower paces, they were unable to keep up with the demand, if you will, which resulted in a gap in the line. These gaps in the line caused the last person in the line, which happened to be Alex, to have to wait on the rest of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Considerations For Effective Organizational Change What Is Organizational Change? Organizational change is the term used to describe the transformation process that a company goes through in response to a strategic reorientation, restructure, change in management, merger or acquisition or the development of new goals and objectives for the company. The realignment of resources and the redeployment of capital can bring many challenges during the transformation process and organizational change management seeks to address this by adopting best practice standards to assist with the integration of new company vision. If workers don t embrace or see the reason for change, resentment and resistance can occur You have to emphasize the positive reason for the change and convey it to the workers. This way, improve the chances of support. For effective organizational change, you should create a transition management team. You should also select a change leader from every department and conduct regular meetings. This will comprise the transition team that can drive the change initiatives and help facilitate and implement the initiatives throughout the various departments. This also provides a support structure for the initiatives. Resources should be provided to the transition management team. Additional Considerations For Effective Organizational Structure: Evaluation of the aesthetic appeal is essential for effective organizational change. The plan should be clear defined goals and rationale and should be concise. Ensure that the decision makers within the organization are onboard. Test The Water Usage Of The Smart Agricultural System To test the water usage of the smart agricultural system, data was collected for the three different types of algorithms implemented for this project: timed based, reactive, and proactive control of the environment. The timed based algorithm turns the water pump on based only on the time of the day. The reactive algorithm turns the water pump on only if the soil moisture falls below a certain threshold. The first two algorithms only consider one type of data for their algorithms, either time or soil moisture. Comparatively, the proactive algorithm actively monitors the environmental conditions to determine the best time to turn the water pump on. The proactive algorithm monitors the soil moisture, temperature, humidity, pressure, time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be compared to high temperatures of 22 degrees Celsius and low temperatures of 18 degrees Celsius in the indoor environment. The reduced temperature variation helps to protect the plants from the extreme weather conditions that the proactive, smart algorithm is able to compensate for. However, since extreme environments would be difficult to reproduce accurately, this factor was not considered for this test. Additionally, because the temperature variation would be applied equally to each of the environments, it was deemed a non significant factor for the purposes of this test. Rain however, was deemed a significant factor for this test. This test is centered on the water usage of the system and as a result, it is important to see the effect of rain on the system. To accurately simulate rain, 20mL of water was dispensed to each of the environments on the 3rd day of the test. The water was dispensed using a measuring cup containing the set amount of water. The weather data was also spoofed to change the weather status to rain. This was accomplished by replacing the weather JSON file that would have been requested from openweather.org, with a fake weather JSON file with the spoofed values. Finally, it should be noted that the sensor module pushes new data to the Webserver at a rate of one packet every minute. Since the Webserver only updates the turn water on command when new data is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Unbeknownst to Diocletian this particular reform would be a recipe for civil war. In the year 306, one year after Diocletian abdicated, Constantine I elevated to imperial rule over the western Empire after the passing of his father and then Augustus; Constantius. During Constantine s reign he quickly gained popularity and consolidated his power while the rest of the emperors competed and quarreled amongst each other. To keep this infrastructure going, the tried and true taxation of the people was a necessity. In any instance taxation is a burden but paying taxes insured circulation of even the most valuable of coins to any ones hand. It is devastating to individual systems, and it s high level of contagion makes it a major threat to populations, as seen historically, before mass vaccination was available. For many years before an understanding about the virus was developed, thousands suffered and died from it, with no relief except perhaps that of a comforting nurse. As scientific inquiry advanced, so did the approach to dealing with the virus, beginning with its primitive inoculation, to it s eradication from the natural environment. • 48. An Important Part Of Interpersonal Communication Feedback is known to be an important part of interpersonal communication. It lets speakers know what impact their words are having. When others have an opportunity to respond, a dialogue is created and the content of the messages can be adjusted, or even improved. This dynamic is applied every day in health care settings. Medical professionals rely on feedback throughout their careers to enhance the quality care they provide. Patients enter clinics and emergency rooms seeking feedback from physicians about what is happening to their bodies. Together, medical staff and patients must depend on feedback to reach a diagnosis and find the best course of treatment. Physicians and other medical staff collectively examine patients: recording their vitals, taking an accurate history, and performing a thorough review of certain body systems. All of this is done based on the patients chief complaints. Their bodies are sending feedback signals, trying to tell them something is wrong, such as an infection like pneumonia. Patients cannot interpret this feedback themselves, so they seek medical services to further examine them. Sometimes the feedback patients bodies send is not very clear. Many diagnoses share signs and symptoms, so physicians should consider other factors as well. The patient may have other conditions that put them at particular risk for other problems to arise. If physicians or staff fail to further investigate in these situations, a potential for serious consequences ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
