I have a Dream by Martin Luther king Jr. is an influential speech that converses about the
inequalities in America. Gay right activists Harvey Milk s uplifting speech, hope describes the

Canada s Immigration System Act
On June 28, 2012, the Protecting Canada s Immigration System Act (Bill C 31) took effect. This
act was put in place to bring further reforms to the asylum system, add measures to address human
smuggling, and add the requirement to include biometric data as part of a temporary resident visa,
work permit, and study permit application. These changes were claimed to help the system to
function better, cut down wait time, make the process faster, screen applicants better, and to
prevent needless complications. This resulted in many changes to Canadas asylum system. There
were four changes made to the Immigrationand RefugeeBoard of Canada (IRB). The first change
was replacing the Basis of Claim (BOC) form with the Personal Information Form (PIF). This
change meant that people who make a refugee claim at an office in Canada must submit a
completed BOC during their eligibility interview. If they made a refugee claim at a port of entry
then they must submit their BOC to the IRB no later than 15 days after their claim is referred to
the IRB. Another change made was that the hearings at the (IRB) would be conducted by public
servant decision makers rather than people appointed by the Governor in Council (GIC). Also,
hearings for most claimants would be held no later than 60 days after the refugee claim is referred
to the IRB. And finally, for claimants from designated countries of origin, their hearings would be
held no later than 45 days after referral to the IRB for those who

Various Trade Measures Affecting Exporters and Importers
The various trade measures affected exporters and importers. The most common type of trade
restriction or intervention measure is the tariff. There are 3 types of tariffs ad valorem, specific
and compound tariffs. However, there is the other most important form of trade restriction or
intervention non tariffs such as quotas, embargoes and sanctions, voluntary export restraints, buy
local legislation, export subsidies, anti dumping and countervailing duties safety measures and
administrative and technical regulations. CONTENT Tariff is a scheduled of duties which state
imposes on goods imported or exported. Duty in this case refers to the quantity of money payable
to the resident customs experts when a delivery of goods enters or leaves a country. The duty
applicable in the case of tariffs (and thus the actual revenue accruing) can be worked out of three
ways. пѓ An ad volorem (meaning in amount to the value ) rate of duty is a fixed percentage of
the customs value of a traded item. пѓ Specific rate of duty is a fixed monetary amount per unit of
the traded item. пѓ Compound rate of duty involves both an ad valorem and a specific rate of
duty being applied to the same product. Government impose tariffs for the following reasons:
пѓ Protection of local industry: import tariffs have the outcome of raising the value of imported
products comparative to similar goods produced in the local market. This places foreign producers
at a competitive disadvantage when selling in the resident

Summary Of Working With Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence and its Application to Nursing Practice Emotional intelligence is your
ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others, and your ability to use this
awareness to manage your behavior and relationships (Bradberry Jean, 2009). Emotional
intelligence was developed in 1990 and its popularity has grown in the 21st century (Marquis
Hutson, 2015). The book Emotional Intelligence2.0 outlines four different skills that a person must

Nebraska State Budget
Assignment 4.2
Abstract
The State of Nebraska has a biennium budget that is set from 2013 all the way to 2015.
Knowing what is in your budget and how to properly gauge what will be needed for the coming
two years in each department is an important aspect to a successful budget. The person in charge
of the budget for each department needs to know how to properly budget and respond to the
needs of the state in the most fiscal way possible. A budget is only as good as the person who is
running it. The Nebraska State budget is complex, but with the right amount of team work and
dedication, it seems to run very smoothly.
Nebraska State Budget The Nebraska State budget is set on a biennium basis. Since this is the case
the budget will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It gives a broad overview of the total estimated costs of all the areas that are being run in the state.
The appropriations that are shown in the 2012 13 current fiscal year are those adopted by 2011
regular session and were further broken down during the 2011 special session of the 102nd
legislature. The Governor s budget recommendations for FY 2013 14 expect a general fund
increase by four point nine percent over the two year period. By doing this the Governor is
exceeding the minimum reserve requirement of fourteen point eight million for the next biennium.
This type of foreshadowing is what is helping Nebraska to look at the overall big picture and to
try and stay within the state allowable budget as closely as possible. The planning even estimates
all the way into the 2015 17 biennium that would set the future growth at five percent and also
leave a General Fund balance in excess of the minimum reserve requirement (Heineman, 2013).
Revenue Generation, Expenditures, and Services The State of Nebraska does a good job of
showing what the state s budget is being spent on and to which programs the money for the state is
going. When looking at the state s budget there are several items that have been considered for the
biennium. The State of Nebraska sets its recommendations by each functional area that are broken
down into general government, agriculture, environment and natural resources, economic
development, human resources development,

Overconsumption Of Antibiotics
Why does the over prescription of antibiotic medication lead to a negative economic and societal
outcome?
Increasing bacterial resistance to antibiotic treatments has become a worldwide issue over the
last 20 years as consumer and general practitioner s incentives for a quick fix to minor illnesses
have caused a negative externality for the consumption of antibiotics. A negative externality in this
example is when a third party, in this case, society as a whole, is adversely affected by the
overconsumption of antibiotics, due to greater bacterial resistance, causing more advanced diseases
that pose a greater risk to the health of a society. The roles played by consumers, doctors and
pharmaceutical manufacturers will be discussed in detail ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Most antibiotics require a prescription from a medical professional such as a general practitioner or
specialist. According to research published in the Medical Journal of Australia during 2017: GP s
have been prescribing antibiotics nine times more often than what the guidelines state. Doctors, like
consumers, are driven by their own incentives. There is a strong incentive for GP s to prescribe
antibiotics to patients which may not necessarily require them, due to the pressure on a doctor s
time to attend to as many patients as possible. Therefore, doctors can be incentivised to undertake
the simplest solution, rather than sacrifice the amount of patients that they see in order to explore
other methods of treatment. Doctor s incentives tend to be skewed towards offering treatment to
patients, rather than focusing on decreasing the big picture societal negative externality. Another
example of an externality on the healthcare system is that amplified antibiotic resistance increases
medical costs, as more expensive, potent antibiotics are required to combat stronger bacteria and
infections.
In the United States, Pharmaceutical companies spend over $1 billion each year on direct to
consumer advertising for antibiotic prescriptions, shifting away from traditional advertisements for
physicians in medical journals, towards newspapers and consumer magazines. This marketing
strategy has bolstered consumer demand hugely and it poses a problem, as consumers are now
heavily swayed by private institutions who have their own incentive for maximizing profits.
In order to combat the issues discussed in this essay, a potential solution involves the
implementation of economic incentives for drug manufacturers, consumers and doctors, employed
by policy

Theme Of Madness In King Lear
The tragedy of King Lear is a remarkable play by Shakespeare a play that emphasizes the idea of
power and madness throughout each character in the play. The concepts of accepting power,
disowning it and abusing it are strong elements that are demonstrated through the characters. The
play is written in iambic pentameter even though this is the case it does not commence until King
Learmakes his first appearance adding a subtle significance to Lear.
The play begins with Lear relinquishing his authority of the kingdom to his three daughters, their
distribution of land is based upon the performance of who loves their father the most. Goneril and
Regan immediately claim to devote all their love to him leaving no space to love husband or
children. This pleases Lear granting Goneril and Regan large portions of land. Expectation are
upheld by his two daughters however his favorite daughter Cordelia denies performing as her
father expects I love your majesty, according to my bond, no more nor less (1.1.101 102). Cordelia
s inadequacies to meet her father s wants strips her away from a family and a kingdom. Her actions
are debatable as stupidity but as the play continues her actions are a wise choice. The abuse of
power is demonstrated in the way that Goneril and Regan treat their father like a worthless
peasant. Dear daughter, I confess that I am old. Age is unnecessary. On my knees I beg That you ll
vouchsafe me raiment, bed, and food. (2.4.173 175) Ironically, King Lear

Nato s Justification Of The Security Council
NATO s 11 week bombing campaign against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) in March
1999 was a challenge in the history of the North Atlantic alliance. For the first time, NATO
launched an armed intervention outside its borders in order to avert a humanitarian crisis (Solana
1999: 114). The bombing campaign was intended to stop Belgrade s repression of Kosovos
Albanian population and to oblige the Milosevic regime to accept NATO s demands regarding the
future political status of Kosovo (Wippman 2001: 129).
NATO s decision to intervene in Kosovo without the authorization of the Security Council raised
doubts in the international arena among human rights activists about the legitimacy of the
operation. This essay will argue that NATO s intervention in Kosovo was legitimate because it
was both legal and just. In so doing, this essay will start by carefully reading the U.N. Charter
provisions that permit the use of force on limited grounds in order to set the legal conditions for
intervention (Mertus 2000: 1751). NATO s legitimacy in Kosovo will be scrutinized focusing on
the emerging body of international law, which permits intervention for humanitarian purposes.
Likewise, a just war analysis will be applied to examine the morality of the decision to wage war,
and the morality of the means and methods by which the war was conducted (Schroeder 2004: 180).
The essay will eventually conclude that humanitarian intervention is now legal and widely accepted
by most states

The Effect Of Processing Technique And Core Thickness On...
Effect of processing technique and core thickness on fracture resistance of Lithium disilicate
copings having two different thicknesses
Keywords: IPS e.max;Press; CAD / CAM; core thickness; fracture strength.
Introduction
High strength All ceramic restorations, with different composition, structure, and processing
methods, have been introduced as an alternative to metal ceramic restorations in many applications
(1). Due to their translucency and strength, IPS e.max ceramics have become increasingly popular
as dental restorative materials (2) .They can be used as a substructure (core) to support the more
fragile veneering ceramics in dental crowns (3 5). However few data in literature were about
different coping thicknesses of IPS e.max to determine the optimum thickness which allows more
conservative preparation and gives space for the veneering material.
Increasing the fracture strength of all ceramic restorations increase their durability during function
and decrease complications such as secondary caries and periodontal diseases. There has been
growing interest in ceramic restorations due to their optimal esthetics and biocompatibility (6).
However, their use is associated with some shortcomings. Chipping of the veneering porcelain is
the most frequently encountered complication of all ceramic restorations (7). The second most
common clinical failure may be gross fracture of restoration (8). Several

Animal Farm Ignorance Is Bliss
Ignorance is bliss is a common phrase that has been adapted to our daily conversation. This
phrase is by Thomas Gray in the poem, Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College. What Gray
means is sometimes when one is not aware of what is happening around them, they are happier
than if they were. Thomas Gray goes on to say, Tis folly to be wise. This goes back to what is said
earlier, that people can be in a worse state if they are aware of their surroundings. In the book,
Animal Farm, written by George Orwell, there are some examples of the saying by Gray in the
story.
One instance when the phrase is illustrated is with Boxer. The horse worked and worked day in
and day out. He didn t care what the politics were on the farm. He stayed loyal to the farm and he
was as happy as he could get. In Animal Farm, it says, He adopted the maxim, Napoleon is always
right, in addition to his private motto of I will work harder (Orwell 56). This example proves that
Boxer is easily swayed and doesn t have a definite opinion of the state of the leadership. However,
Boxer truly believes he is happy with his position and doesn t waiver in his beliefs. The other ...

The Things They Carried Critical Analysis
Forty two years after the Fall of Saigon, the Vietnam War remains an affliction for Vietnam War
Veterans and their families. Millions of our youth were forced to leave their home and carry
inconceivable burdens. Thus, as a Veteran, Tim O Brien can depict thoroughly their burdens in The
Things They Carried . His story brings us back to war torn Vietnamand First Lieutenant Jimmy
Cross and his platoon. Cross is the commanding officer; however, he does not concentrate on the
war but on his unrequited love. As a result, a Viet Congkills one of his subordinates, Ted Lavender.
His death traumatizes the platoon, especially its commander. Furthermore, the narrator also depicts

Furthermore, lucky charms, which are the good luck pepple of Cross, the rabbit s foot (4) of Dave
Jensen, the thumb (4) of Norman Bowker, and the pantyhose (3) of Henry Dobbins, confirm their
constant uncertainty of their life. For they need those charms to ease their own anxiety and
uncertainties; they are our soldiers only source of comfort in times of chaos.
The danger of the war and their age are not the only thing that creates uncertainty, our soldiers are
uncertain of their presence in the war, and ultimately, their future. According the critic s
perspective, our involvement is a result of our government s ideology, defender of the democracy,
thus, the government determines what is good and evil, right and wrong, civilized and
uncivilized, freedom and oppression for Vietnam (1). As a result, he suggests that soldiers might
perceive the cause as unjust; they struggle to justify their role in the war. As O Brien depicts, the
war is just the endless march, village to village, without purpose (5), and they march and fight but
no volition, no will (5). Certainly, the low morale manifests the soldiers uncertainty of the war. For
many of them, the war is meaningless, evil, and a dullness of desire and intellect and conscience
and hope and human sensibility (5). They fight not to win but to survive. The boundary between
life and death is almost nonexistent; every step they take on that land is a bet for their life.

Examples Of Ptsd In The Iliad
PTSD and a Reevaluation of Homer s Achilles
In Homer s Iliad, Achilles hears about the death of his dearest friend and says Nothing matters to
me now / But killing and blood and men in agony (19.226). In the fit of reckless violence which
follows, he slaughters so many young men that he clogs the River Scamander with their gore, slays
helpless suppliants, and attempts to mutilate his chief enemy s body after killing him. While it is
impossible to deny Achilles compulsive and violent behavior in much of The Iliad, modern research
on the effects of battle trauma on the human psyche invites us to reevaluate his behavior. In light of
modern research conducted on war veterans suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder),

Achilles, once a figure of godlike power and bravery, now appears a very mortal figure suffering
from the brutality of war. His fall from heroism to barbarism is no less tragic and no less horrid,
but is much more understandable when viewed as a psychological phenomenon only recently
identified by modern psychology. This understanding of Achilles also serves to bridge the
cultural and temporal gaps between Homeric society and our own. The Iliad provides compelling
evidence that PTSD is a cross cultural and cross temporal disorder which warriors have
experienced since time immemorial. From Troy to Vietnam and beyond, soldiers have suffered
trauma from combat which has in turn caused them to inflict violence on others, as well as on
themselves. Achilles almost cuts his own throat in the opening lines of Book 18, and refuses to eat,
drink or bathe for most of the rest of The Iliad. Thus, he effectively makes himself the living dead
(in commiseration with Patroclus). Similarly, the number of Vietnam vets who have committed
suicide exceeds the number who died during and after the war from wounds, and an estimated 1.5

The View Of Love In Romeo And Juliet
Love is one of the only things that nearly every human being is capable of feeling. Like many
aspects of human lives, views on love differ from every individual. Nowhere is this more present
than in William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, where Romeo, a member of the Montague family,
and Juliet, a member of the rivaling Capulet family, find themselves in the circumstances of falling
madly in lovewith each other. Throughout the play and through the different relationships
encountered, Shakespeare s attitude toward love differs between how Romeo is portrayed to love
Juliet, how Juliet is displayed to love Romeo, and how Juliet s nurse is shown to view love on its
own. Romeo s views on love are most accurately presented when he encounters or... Show more

the nurse views it solely as a means of achieving pleasure. When giving advice to Juliet about a

nurse s use of raunchy and borderline sexual language (for the time) when referring to love

attempts to explain to Juliet that she can still find love in Paris, her attitude toward love is
shown: I think you are happy in this second match, For it excels your first. Or if it did not, Your
first is dead, or twere as good he were, As living here and you no use of him (3.5.222 225). By
focusing on the aspects of finding happiness rather than focusing on true and genuine emotion in
Juliet s possible relationships, even in the most dire of situations, the nurse is unmistakably
demonstrated to consider love as being a method of gaining satisfaction. The nurse, like most other
people involved in Romeo and Juliet, has her own opinions on what love truly is, and with several
examples, the nurse is shown to understand love as solely a mechanism for obtaining pleasure and

Pericles Funeral Oration Speech
When thinking of Athens, it is quite possible that the first thing you think of is something along the
lines of them having great success and an ideal lifestyle. Athens stereotype is that it was the most
amazing place to live because of their successfulness in democracy and war.
This speech is called Pericles Funeral Oration by Thucydides, and it was delivered by Pericles, an
Athenian politician, at a funeral for the war dead after the first year of the Peloponnesian War. In
this speech, Pericles basically boasts to the family and friends of these deceased warriors about
how amazing Athens is and how important the warriors were to them. He begins by saying that
their constitution does not copy the laws of neighboring states to set them apart from any and
every other place that may be deemed as competition to Athens. One thing that he appears to be
very proud of is Athens way of handling their democracy. It was not a common idea that every
person was able to participate in the city s politics, so Pericles makes sure to say that it favours
the many instead of the few when speaking of Athens democracy. Their democracy is described
to be an incredible system in which each and every citizen of Athens gets a chance to participate
regardless of their social ranking or any other thing that may affect their relevance to society.
Pericles says that if a man is able to serve the state, he is not hindered by the obscurity of his
conditions rather that be low social standing

How Statistics Is Important For The Quality Of Data
Statistics is well defined as a division of mathematics and is most often used to explain, analyze,
and summarize as well as interpret what we perceive in order to make sense or meaning of our
interpretations. Every day we encounter statistics that originate from various forms and behaviors.
Which means that to in order for all of the information gathered to make sense, there would
realistically be no need for the use of statistics. Conversely, due to its focus and pragmatic on
applications, statistics is characteristically considered a distinctive mathematical science rather
than a division of mathematics (Chance et al, 2005). Therefore, some measures a statistician
utilizes are less mathematical; for example, ensuring data collection is conceded in a manner that
yields valid conclusions, recording results, or coding data in behaviors understandable to the
users. Statistics has been recognized to improve the quality of data by forming specific survey
samples and experiment strategies. It also offers tools used to forecast the use of data as well as
statistical models. It is appropriate in many academic arenas that consist of business, social and
natural sciences, and government, to list a few.
Descriptive statistics are wholly used to define the sample under study; they are used essentially to
describe the fundamental characteristics of a prearranged data. Descriptive statistics offer modest
summaries concerning the measures as well as the samples. When applied in

B. F. Skinner
Burrhus Frederic Skinner, psychologist and behaviorist, was born in Susquhanna, Pennsylvania in
1904 to William Skinner and Grace Burrhus. His father was a lawywer and his mother was a
naturally bright woman. Skinner had only one sibling; his brother died at the age of sixteen. Skinner
lived most of his life in Susquhanna. He did not leave the house he was born in until he left to go
to college. He was raised very close to his grandparents, who had a major impact on his early life.
He was also close to his parents. He and his mother and father all graduated from the same high

Robber Barons Dbq Essay
Throughout the late 19th century, several men such as John Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and
Cornelius Vanderbilt built empires in railroad construction, coal mining, and the oil industry. These
industrial leaders helped the economy flourish and created a leading industrial power in the world.
After a while, critics began to question their power and objective. Critics began to call them robber
baronsfor their selfish and corrupted techniques. While they took advantage of careless government
regulation and no income tax, they generated huge business that benefited the country. They
employed many people and provided critical goods and services. There is a small margin to justify
the characterizations of a robber baronfor the leading industrialists of the late 19th century, but more

A Difficult Challenge For Caregivers Of Young Children...
Facing a difficult challenge for caregivers of young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
isn t easy, yet it s hard due to the fact of deciding on the proper treatment plan for the child.
Programs emphasizing usage of structured settings, tight stimulus control, and adult directed
instruction are labeled as current evidence that supports the early educational interventions which is
based on the developmental and applied behavioral analytic principles leading to the models that
focus on opportunities of naturalistic delivery of learning within child led routines. Nevertheless,

Testing the effect of every possible combination of evidence based interventions and every possible
factor that might be related to outcomes is logistically unfeasible. Therefore, a research program
informed by theory driven hypotheses is crucial for facilitating a rational use of research resources
in these areas (Vivanti, 2017, p.114 115). The ASD is an early intervention field due to having a
relevant obstacle in the research agenda at a pre paradigmatic stage (Kuhn, 1962) which is a stage
where practices are informed by competing meta theoretical orientations (e.g., behavioral theory,
cognitive theory, and developmental theory) operate in consonance with disparate vocabularies and
criteria used for appraising evidence (Ingersoll, 2010; Smith, 2014). Different treatments of
individualization and combination have to generate testable prognosis, current frameworks of pre
paradigmatic should be developed into full fledged scientific theories which utilize parameters and
constraints to formulate treatment targets and therapeutic change of hypothesized nature. In this
research, the hypothesis of treatment used will oblige the reformulation of rationales treatment in
four sets of explicit terms of explanatory/predictive statements which are (1) logical coherence, (2)
falsifiability, (3)

Death Penalty Should Be Legal
Do you think that death penalty will give justice for the innocent lives? The death penalty
continues to be an issue of controversy in the whole world because people have different beliefs
for giving justice to the innocents. For some people, they want it legal because death penalty
will give justice for the innocent victims and a form of vengeance to the criminals. On the
flipside, other people don t agree with it because a lot of innocents are putting into death. These
people believe that it is better to put the criminal into jail without a parole unless there is a proof
that he or she is innocent instead of removing the human rights of the criminal to live and have a
chance to change his or her life. Although some people think that death penalty should be legal, I
believe it should not be legal. Some people believed that killing the murderers would keep more
innocent victims safe and alive. For instance, the case of Tim Mcveigh who was executed by
killing the 168 people in the Oklahoma City bombing, or John Wayne Gacy who was committed
33 murders. If they were still alive, we wouldn t know what would happen next. They might kill
more people. However, we are still killing more people and innocent lives. In fact, the authors of the
Rate of False Conviction of Criminal Defendants Who are Sentenced to Death, stated that A
conservative estimate of the proportion of erroneous convictions of defendants sentenced to death
in the United States from 1973 through 2004 is 4.1%,

One of these factors could be lack of awareness and understanding. According to Monsebraaten,
there is a thoughtful level of lack of commitment in the community (2015). Society is not looking
closer to what has been happening in the community about the violence there are experiencing;
this is normalized in the community. Many residents said they were unhappy with the services
that they are receiving from cops at 31 Division and would not report a crime if they witnessed
one or were victims of one (Share News, 2009). Therefore, youths refuse to seek help, and then
deal with problems the way they understand since they cannot find good role models to follow they
path. According to Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services says lack of understanding is
affecting everybody in the neighbourhood, which increases violence from many backgrounds that
includes poverty and discrimination. Good local programming often is not available or sustainable,
and role models and mentors can be hard to find (2015). It is important to understand that the
government are the people. Base on the facts, the root of Jane and Finch is not a fault of
government, but the fault of the society where people of Jane and Finch cannot govern themselves.

Florence Nightingale Had A Big Impact On The Math World
Florence Nightingale had a big impact on the math world. We still use what she contributed
today in the medical field and in the classroom. She not only made an impact in the math world
but also for women s rights and in the medical field during the Crimean War. Florence had an
interesting early life, from begging her parents to study math to choosing to become a nurse.
She is an example of how you should never give up on your dreams and how you should not let
other people tell you what you can and cannot do. Florence was born on May 12th, 1820 in
Florence Italy, which is where she got her name. Her parents were William Edward Nightingale
and Frances Nightingale Nee Smith. She had a sister named Frances Parthenope, also named
after the place in which she was born. They were an upper class British family at the Vita
Colombaia. They had three homes one called Embley, Hampshire, and Lea Hurst. In 1838
Florence met Mary Clarky, Clarkey was a stimulating hostess who did not care about what she
looked like. Clarkey had no respect for upper British women. She mostly spent her time around
male intellectuals as opposed to the company of women. Clarkey demonstrated that women could
be equal to men. This is an idea that Florence s mother and sister did not support. Clarkey and
Florence became close friends. In 1840 Florence begged her parents to let her study mathematics.

Living With Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder
I.Introduction Living with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is one of the hardest
challenges I have ever faced. Having been diagnosed at the age of seven, it is the most prevalent
thing in my life. ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed psychological disorder in the United
States (Hughes). It is a persistent disorder, often prevalent through adolescence and adulthood.
Most individuals diagnosed are between the ages of seven and nine, although there have been
numerous cases where individuals have been diagnosed in their later years. Case studies show
that males are four times more likely to be diagnosed/affected with ADHD, and lately, studies
have shown an unexplained increase in the number of diagnoses made in children. It has been
recognized that in the past, people have scoffed at the diagnosis of ADHD, and even
disregarding and bashing the disorder, calling it things like, a real medical hoax (Citation). These
individuals, however, are severely misguided, seeing as though ADHD is a real disorder, and it
affects millions of people worldwide in present day. There have been neurological studies studying
and showing that ADHD is, in fact, neurologically related, and it is most likely caused by chemical
imbalances in individual s brains (Citation). One greatly debated question in the world of Attention
Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is, Can an individual that was diagnosed with ADHD eventually
outgrow it? One side of this argument states that an individual that has been

Persuasive Essay On Helmet Laws
Mandatory seat belt laws and motorcycle helmet laws have been a controversial topic and there
has been much argument between the two sides. I will be presenting both sides of the argument
and I will be giving my opinion on this topic. Many motorcyclists despite knowing the benefits of
wearing a helmet, are still against the forced helmet laws. A very common argument that is used
against these laws for motorcyclists, is that it would be a violation of their civil liberties. Jeff
Hennie of the MotorcycleRiders Foundation says, We are 100 percent pro helmet, and 100 percent
anti helmet law, putting a helmet law in place does not reduce motorcycle fatalities. Educating
other motorists to look out for motorcyclists, and teaching motorcyclists how to ride safely, is the
ultimate solution for saving lives. Some motorcyclists actually believe that helmets can be be a
safety problem. According to the Mesriani Law Group, the shape and weight of the helmet can
actually add to a motorcyclist breaking his neck during an accident. Also if your new to riding a
motorcycle the helmet might be very distracting, and could a lead to a accident. Seat belts in cars
can also be a violation of freedom. In the Thirteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution,
it prohibits ownership of human beings. When you own something, you have the exclusive ability
to use it for your purposes. If the state controls every aspect of a person s life for the common good,

According to Jessica Jeffries of LAvideofilmmaker, one of Spielberg s favorite is the sideways
tracking shot. This is a classic filmmaking technique, but Spielberg always adds a bit of flavor to it.
His sideways tracking shots are typically filming two characters, walking and talking, but he always
adds things to both the foreground and background in order to give the shot more visual texture and
to enhance the visual perception of movement. Many more of his famous filmmaking techniques
include the dramatic over the shoulder shot, the character approaches the camera to be framed in a
close up, the claustrophobic over the shoulder shot, the framing through the foreground shot, and an

Is King Arthur Real Or Real
For years, historians and scholars have been questioning the truth behind the great King known as
King Arthur. His power and legend have influenced many modern aspects as well as having a direct
effect on various components of British history. Yet, there is not definitive proof as to whether or
not this man was real. King Arthurs story has been told for years upon years and is considered to
be on the of the most heroic legends of all time, but the question still remains: Is King Arthur
real? King Arthur s legend is based off of a true King that was able to defend Britain from a
Saxon invasion. History says that this King was extremely heroic and brave. It is this great
King that the legend comes from. The first time King Arthur s name is mentioned is in the
writings of a Welsh historian, Nennius. He often references to a powerful King named Arthur,
who helped the Britain in twelve specific and real battles. The only problem with this is that it is
impossible for one man to have fought in all said battles. These battles took place all over the
country of Britain and over the course of around a hundred years. It is physically impossible for
one man to have fought in all twelve battles. Ignoring the facts, various Welsh painters decided to
paint the famed King Arthur that Nennius spoke so highly of. Their creation of King Arthur led
to the spread of the mighty King s fame. Nennius s tales went on to spark fire for years to come.
History of the King s of Britain was the

They Say I Say Summary
They Say/I Say Review Many college students find themselves struggling, while trying to write
papers in their English classes. This book was written to help you though these struggles. They
say/I say by Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein is a book that was designed to help students be
better writers. I think that this book is absolutely a huge help to anyone in need of becoming a
much more confident and betterwriter. This book has helped me learn how to write more structured
sentences and how to form them in ways that sound better and are also more grammatically correct
than before. I have learned how to properly demonstrate and use many writingtechniques such as
making quotations, playing the believing game, how to write strong summaries, how to plant a
naysayer , and incorporate so what? and who cares? into my writing. This book can be extremely
helpful to anyone in need of assistance or for people interested in... Show more content on

It teaches you different ways to summarize things such as playing the believing game , which is
basically where you write a summary of something that you have read. An example of this would
be of me writing a summary of a chapter in this book. In this chapter, the authors discuss how
they want you to put yourself in the person you are summarizing s shoes and doing that requires
you to know your topic well. It also states that you should always know where you are headed
with your summary. They also say you should use signal verbs for making a claim or getting
your point across. Here is an example of me playing the believing game, by summarizing why
my friend would like video games. X likes video games because he thinks they are very fun. He
enjoys them because of the cool graphics, the sound effects and the game content. He states that
getting to watch a story go by in a video game that you are playing is like you re living in it. He
argues that video games are the best thing

United States Involvement In The Vietnam War
In the beginning, the United States always pushed forth the idea they were becoming involved in
the war in Vietnam in order to send out aid to France, who was an ally of theirs. After the United
Nations began setting up a plan to help France, the United States suggested splitting up the
Communist and Democratic portions of Vietnam, with the communists having control over the
North, while the Kennedy administration continued to send military aid to the Southern portions of
Vietnam.
In the end, the United States main objective in becoming involved in the Vietnam War was to
prevent the spread of communism in the region. After the Gulf of Tonkin incident, which occurred
when North Vietnamese patrol boats fired on an American ship that they had discovered conducting
a spy mission off the coast of North Vietnam, current United States President Johnson used the
incident to eventually get authority from Congress to send more US troops into Vietnam. Slowly
over time, the anti war sentiment against the Vietnam War continued to grow amongst the
American people. Many Americans grew confused as to why we were continuing to be involved in
a war that was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

called for the slow takeover of the responsibility of South Vietnam by the South Vietnamese leaders
(Lecture 17). The Nixon Doctrine said that the United States would continue to give aid to our
allies, but would continue sending troops into the region. Beginning in 1972, the United States
began withdrawing from Vietnam, until eventually all US troops were removed from the region by
1975. After the United States removed all military presence from the region, North Vietnam took

  • 3. Canada s Immigration System Act On June 28, 2012, the Protecting Canada s Immigration System Act (Bill C 31) took effect. This act was put in place to bring further reforms to the asylum system, add measures to address human smuggling, and add the requirement to include biometric data as part of a temporary resident visa, work permit, and study permit application. These changes were claimed to help the system to function better, cut down wait time, make the process faster, screen applicants better, and to prevent needless complications. This resulted in many changes to Canadas asylum system. There were four changes made to the Immigrationand RefugeeBoard of Canada (IRB). The first change was replacing the Basis of Claim (BOC) form with the Personal Information Form (PIF). This change meant that people who make a refugee claim at an office in Canada must submit a completed BOC during their eligibility interview. If they made a refugee claim at a port of entry then they must submit their BOC to the IRB no later than 15 days after their claim is referred to the IRB. Another change made was that the hearings at the (IRB) would be conducted by public servant decision makers rather than people appointed by the Governor in Council (GIC). Also, hearings for most claimants would be held no later than 60 days after the refugee claim is referred to the IRB. And finally, for claimants from designated countries of origin, their hearings would be held no later than 45 days after referral to the IRB for those who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The most common type of trade restriction or intervention measure is the tariff. There are 3 types of tariffs ad valorem, specific and compound tariffs. However, there is the other most important form of trade restriction or intervention non tariffs such as quotas, embargoes and sanctions, voluntary export restraints, buy local legislation, export subsidies, anti dumping and countervailing duties safety measures and administrative and technical regulations. CONTENT Tariff is a scheduled of duties which state imposes on goods imported or exported. Duty in this case refers to the quantity of money payable to the resident customs experts when a delivery of goods enters or leaves a country. The duty applicable in the case of tariffs (and thus the actual revenue accruing) can be worked out of three ways. пѓ An ad volorem (meaning in amount to the value ) rate of duty is a fixed percentage of the customs value of a traded item. пѓ Specific rate of duty is a fixed monetary amount per unit of the traded item. пѓ Compound rate of duty involves both an ad valorem and a specific rate of duty being applied to the same product. Government impose tariffs for the following reasons: пѓ Protection of local industry: import tariffs have the outcome of raising the value of imported products comparative to similar goods produced in the local market. This places foreign producers at a competitive disadvantage when selling in the resident ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Nebraska State Budget Assignment 4.2 Abstract The State of Nebraska has a biennium budget that is set from 2013 all the way to 2015. Knowing what is in your budget and how to properly gauge what will be needed for the coming two years in each department is an important aspect to a successful budget. The person in charge of the budget for each department needs to know how to properly budget and respond to the needs of the state in the most fiscal way possible. A budget is only as good as the person who is running it. The Nebraska State budget is complex, but with the right amount of team work and dedication, it seems to run very smoothly. The Governor s budget recommendations for FY 2013 14 expect a general fund increase by four point nine percent over the two year period. By doing this the Governor is exceeding the minimum reserve requirement of fourteen point eight million for the next biennium. This type of foreshadowing is what is helping Nebraska to look at the overall big picture and to try and stay within the state allowable budget as closely as possible. The planning even estimates all the way into the 2015 17 biennium that would set the future growth at five percent and also leave a General Fund balance in excess of the minimum reserve requirement (Heineman, 2013). Revenue Generation, Expenditures, and Services The State of Nebraska does a good job of showing what the state s budget is being spent on and to which programs the money for the state is going. • 8. Overconsumption Of Antibiotics Why does the over prescription of antibiotic medication lead to a negative economic and societal outcome? Increasing bacterial resistance to antibiotic treatments has become a worldwide issue over the last 20 years as consumer and general practitioner s incentives for a quick fix to minor illnesses have caused a negative externality for the consumption of antibiotics. A negative externality in this example is when a third party, in this case, society as a whole, is adversely affected by the overconsumption of antibiotics, due to greater bacterial resistance, causing more advanced diseases that pose a greater risk to the health of a society. The roles played by consumers, doctors and pharmaceutical manufacturers will be discussed in detail ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most antibiotics require a prescription from a medical professional such as a general practitioner or specialist. According to research published in the Medical Journal of Australia during 2017: GP s have been prescribing antibiotics nine times more often than what the guidelines state. Doctors, like consumers, are driven by their own incentives. There is a strong incentive for GP s to prescribe antibiotics to patients which may not necessarily require them, due to the pressure on a doctor s time to attend to as many patients as possible. Therefore, doctors can be incentivised to undertake the simplest solution, rather than sacrifice the amount of patients that they see in order to explore other methods of treatment. Doctor s incentives tend to be skewed towards offering treatment to patients, rather than focusing on decreasing the big picture societal negative externality. Another example of an externality on the healthcare system is that amplified antibiotic resistance increases medical costs, as more expensive, potent antibiotics are required to combat stronger bacteria and infections. In the United States, Pharmaceutical companies spend over $1 billion each year on direct to consumer advertising for antibiotic prescriptions, shifting away from traditional advertisements for physicians in medical journals, towards newspapers and consumer magazines. This marketing strategy has bolstered consumer demand hugely and it poses a problem, as consumers are now heavily swayed by private institutions who have their own incentive for maximizing profits. In order to combat the issues discussed in this essay, a potential solution involves the implementation of economic incentives for drug manufacturers, consumers and doctors, employed by policy ... • 9. Theme Of Madness In King Lear The tragedy of King Lear is a remarkable play by Shakespeare a play that emphasizes the idea of power and madness throughout each character in the play. The concepts of accepting power, disowning it and abusing it are strong elements that are demonstrated through the characters. The play is written in iambic pentameter even though this is the case it does not commence until King Learmakes his first appearance adding a subtle significance to Lear. The play begins with Lear relinquishing his authority of the kingdom to his three daughters, their distribution of land is based upon the performance of who loves their father the most. Goneril and Regan immediately claim to devote all their love to him leaving no space to love husband or children. This pleases Lear granting Goneril and Regan large portions of land. Expectation are upheld by his two daughters however his favorite daughter Cordelia denies performing as her father expects I love your majesty, according to my bond, no more nor less (1.1.101 102). Cordelia s inadequacies to meet her father s wants strips her away from a family and a kingdom. Her actions are debatable as stupidity but as the play continues her actions are a wise choice. The abuse of power is demonstrated in the way that Goneril and Regan treat their father like a worthless peasant. Dear daughter, I confess that I am old. Age is unnecessary. • 10. Nato s Justification Of The Security Council NATO s 11 week bombing campaign against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) in March 1999 was a challenge in the history of the North Atlantic alliance. For the first time, NATO launched an armed intervention outside its borders in order to avert a humanitarian crisis (Solana 1999: 114). The bombing campaign was intended to stop Belgrade s repression of Kosovos Albanian population and to oblige the Milosevic regime to accept NATO s demands regarding the future political status of Kosovo (Wippman 2001: 129). NATO s decision to intervene in Kosovo without the authorization of the Security Council raised doubts in the international arena among human rights activists about the legitimacy of the operation. This essay will argue that NATO s intervention in Kosovo was legitimate because it was both legal and just. In so doing, this essay will start by carefully reading the U.N. Charter provisions that permit the use of force on limited grounds in order to set the legal conditions for intervention (Mertus 2000: 1751). NATO s legitimacy in Kosovo will be scrutinized focusing on the emerging body of international law, which permits intervention for humanitarian purposes. Likewise, a just war analysis will be applied to examine the morality of the decision to wage war, and the morality of the means and methods by which the war was conducted (Schroeder 2004: 180). The essay will eventually conclude that humanitarian intervention is now legal and widely accepted by most states ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This phrase is by Thomas Gray in the poem, Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College. What Gray means is sometimes when one is not aware of what is happening around them, they are happier than if they were. Thomas Gray goes on to say, Tis folly to be wise. This goes back to what is said earlier, that people can be in a worse state if they are aware of their surroundings. In the book, Animal Farm, written by George Orwell, there are some examples of the saying by Gray in the story. One instance when the phrase is illustrated is with Boxer. The horse worked and worked day in and day out. He didn t care what the politics were on the farm. He stayed loyal to the farm and he was as happy as he could get. In Animal Farm, it says, He adopted the maxim, Napoleon is always right, in addition to his private motto of I will work harder (Orwell 56). Achilles, once a figure of godlike power and bravery, now appears a very mortal figure suffering from the brutality of war. His fall from heroism to barbarism is no less tragic and no less horrid, but is much more understandable when viewed as a psychological phenomenon only recently identified by modern psychology. This understanding of Achilles also serves to bridge the cultural and temporal gaps between Homeric society and our own. The Iliad provides compelling evidence that PTSD is a cross cultural and cross temporal disorder which warriors have experienced since time immemorial. From Troy to Vietnam and beyond, soldiers have suffered trauma from combat which has in turn caused them to inflict violence on others, as well as on themselves. Achilles almost cuts his own throat in the opening lines of Book 18, and refuses to eat, drink or bathe for most of the rest of The Iliad. Similarly, when the nurse also attempts to explain to Juliet that she can still find love in Paris, her attitude toward love is shown: I think you are happy in this second match, For it excels your first. Or if it did not, Your first is dead, or twere as good he were, As living here and you no use of him (3.5.222 225). By focusing on the aspects of finding happiness rather than focusing on true and genuine emotion in Juliet s possible relationships, even in the most dire of situations, the nurse is unmistakably demonstrated to consider love as being a method of gaining satisfaction. The nurse, like most other people involved in Romeo and Juliet, has her own opinions on what love truly is, and with several examples, the nurse is shown to understand love as solely a mechanism for obtaining pleasure and ... Pericles Funeral Oration Speech When thinking of Athens, it is quite possible that the first thing you think of is something along the lines of them having great success and an ideal lifestyle. Athens stereotype is that it was the most amazing place to live because of their successfulness in democracy and war. This speech is called Pericles Funeral Oration by Thucydides, and it was delivered by Pericles, an Athenian politician, at a funeral for the war dead after the first year of the Peloponnesian War. In this speech, Pericles basically boasts to the family and friends of these deceased warriors about how amazing Athens is and how important the warriors were to them. He begins by saying that their constitution does not copy the laws of neighboring states to set them apart from any and every other place that may be deemed as competition to Athens. One thing that he appears to be very proud of is Athens way of handling their democracy. It was not a common idea that every person was able to participate in the city s politics, so Pericles makes sure to say that it favours the many instead of the few when speaking of Athens democracy. Their democracy is described to be an incredible system in which each and every citizen of Athens gets a chance to participate regardless of their social ranking or any other thing that may affect their relevance to society. • 26. How Statistics Is Important For The Quality Of Data Statistics is well defined as a division of mathematics and is most often used to explain, analyze, and summarize as well as interpret what we perceive in order to make sense or meaning of our interpretations. Every day we encounter statistics that originate from various forms and behaviors. Which means that to in order for all of the information gathered to make sense, there would realistically be no need for the use of statistics. Conversely, due to its focus and pragmatic on applications, statistics is characteristically considered a distinctive mathematical science rather than a division of mathematics (Chance et al, 2005). Therefore, some measures a statistician utilizes are less mathematical; for example, ensuring data collection is conceded in a manner that yields valid conclusions, recording results, or coding data in behaviors understandable to the users. Statistics has been recognized to improve the quality of data by forming specific survey samples and experiment strategies. It also offers tools used to forecast the use of data as well as statistical models. It is appropriate in many academic arenas that consist of business, social and natural sciences, and government, to list a few. The death penalty continues to be an issue of controversy in the whole world because people have different beliefs for giving justice to the innocents. For some people, they want it legal because death penalty will give justice for the innocent victims and a form of vengeance to the criminals. On the flipside, other people don t agree with it because a lot of innocents are putting into death. These people believe that it is better to put the criminal into jail without a parole unless there is a proof that he or she is innocent instead of removing the human rights of the criminal to live and have a chance to change his or her life.
