The cell cycle consists of interphase, mitosis, and cytokinesis. During interphase the cell grows, and in mitosis the nucleus divides into two nuclei. Mitosis is made up of prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase where the chromosomes align and separate. Cytokinesis then forms the two new daughter cells to complete the cycle.
