Ukoho (1988) Express that exercise has shown to improve health prospects in various ways. It helps to
reduce body fat and overall weight and reduce blood pressure. Exercise ensures better digestion,
respiration and efficient blood circulation. Proper exercise programme can reduce the probability of
injuries among older people as well as back injuries among certain occupational group. Exercise
tolerance is increased, risk factors are controlled and even progression and regression of coronary
artery disease can be influenced by training and diet. Psychological effects include lessened
depression and reduced anxiety. Regular physical activity is important for maintenance of health and
may lead to a better quality of life. Training has to be followed not less than two to three hours per
week in at least three sessions at an intensity corresponding to 60 to 85% of maximum heart rate
achieved in a symptom limited maximum exercise test. Cardiac patients at high risk should exercise at
lower intensities. Exercise occupies a leading role in keeping persons fit. It will be quite difficult to
adjust one s life in term of stress, diet sleep and so on without proper exercise. Exercise means using

Analysis Of Paris Is Burning
COMPARISON OF PARIS IS BURNING AND HOW TO SURVIVE A PLAGUE
Ava Morrow
History 3220
The United States in the 20th Century
November 13, 2017 Beginning in the mid 1980 s, a number of efforts were initiated to bring
awareness and enlightenment to the actual tragedy of AIDS. Two films that evolved out of these
awareness campaigns were the documentaries Paris Is Burning and How to Survive a Plague . Both
films, although in significantly diverse ways, provide a window into the alternative lifestyles of LGBT
people of the times and the problems and issues they faced. A comparison of these two documentaries
demonstrates the initial fears of the public and affected people and the beginnings of acceptance or at
least tolerance of these alternative lifestyles.
The movie Paris Is Burning is a documentary film exploring race, gender, and sexuality within the
African American and Latino gay and transgender communities of the ball culture of New York in the
mid to late 1980 s. Ball culture is a term used to describe the underground sub culture of LGBT people
who walk or compete for trophies in events known as balls. The film chronicles the ostentatiously
arranged competitions in which participants, within a very specific theme, must walk while being
judged on criteria such as the authenticity and beauty of their apparel and their dancing ability. Much
of the film shows footage of actual balls interspersed with interviews of prominent members of this
drag scene. The film shows people of different gender identities and their varied methods of
expressing themselves while also exploring how they cope with racism, AIDS, poverty, and
homophobia.
How to Survive a Plague is a documentary movie which depicts the early years of the AIDS epidemic
and the efforts of ACT UP and other groups. ACT UP, founded in March 1987, is an advocacy group
which supports legislation and medical research and treatment of AIDS victims. The film used
archived footage of news coverage, interviews, protests, meetings, and conferences to chronicle the
struggles of AIDS activists from the start of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in New York City. It focused on
the efforts of these activists to obtain meaningful responses from medical

Hominin Naledi Essay
5 facts about the new Hominin Naledi
South Africa An international team of scientist led by Professor Lee R. Berger, announced on
Thursday the discovery of a new hominin species named Homo Naledi from the fossils found in the
Rising Star cave in South Africa. This adds a new branch to the human species family tree.
Modern humans, who belong to a specie named Homo sapiens, continue to be until today the only
living species in our genus. But 20,000 years ago there were other species of the genus Homo that are
now referred as hominins . The discovering of Lee R. Berger, an American paleoanthropologist who is
a professor of human evolution studies at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg,
describe an unusual collection of hominins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The creature, which evidently walked upright, represents a mix of traits. The hands and feet look like
Homo, but the shoulders and the small brain recall Homo s more ape like ancestors, the researchers
said.
It s brain was no larger than a baseball, its shoulders and torso primitive, its fingers long and curved,
allowing H. naledi to climb and swing from the trees. [...] Its long legs and feet, nearly
indistinguishable from those of modern man, allowed it not only to walk upright but also to travel for
many miles at a time reported from The Washington Post Amy Ellis Nutt.
Scientists also believe that Homo naledi buried their dead. The number of bodies, their location, and
the hard access characteristic of the cave makes scientists believe that Naledi species left deliberately
bodies in caves as a way of burying them. This has been considered as a behavior limited to modern
humans and never seen before in such a primitive human, reported The New York Times. This could
have big implications for understanding the origins of modern human behavior.
They may have used tools. The hands suggest tool using capabilities as they had extremely curved
fingers. More curved that almost any other species at such early state of hominin, suggesting they had

Pearson and Mcdonal Lawsuit Analysis Essay
Pearson and McDonald s Lawsuit Analysis Samantha Penico University of Maryland University
College, AMBA 610 Executive Summary There are two major lawsuits which the main populace has
defined as frivolous. One of those cases is the McDonald s split coffee case. This is the case where the
plaintiff spilled her coffee and was rumored to sue McDonald s for 2.7 million dollars and win. The
other s case is the Pearson dry cleaning case where a man sued Chung Dry Cleaner s 54 million
dollars for losing his pants. The plaintiff won in the McDonald s Case and the Plaintiff lost in the Dry
clearance s case. In this paper we are going to dissect each case by the facts, the law, the issues, the
ethical issues, the defendants preventative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Pant s Suit Pearson has no proof that Customer Cleaners lost his pants, it is all alleged. He could
have forgotten them at his house or lost them himself, there is not any way to prove Custom Cleaner s
even lost his pants. But in the McDonald s case it is easy to see the facts because they are all in
statistics, in photographs, the facts are all in the evidence. One case is already losing it s steam while
another is gaining momentum, lets move on. What are the Issues? An issue is why a case is even
occurring. One issue is burns from an overly hot cup of coffee. The other issue is emotional distress
and financial loss due to a pair of missing pants. There may be isssues though that grow from these or
are the issues really that simple? In the missing pants case, the issue is Judge Pearson s pants were
allegedly misplaced by Custom Cleaners. So how is it a pair of missing pants led to a suit battle that
lasted over two years? There must have been other issues involved. First lets assess the facts we
received, the pair of pants Custom Cleaners gave Mr. Pearson he claimed were not his, but they were
his size and matched the alteration specification requested (Goldwasser, 2007). Other issues that grew
from the case was the loss of business and harassment the Chung s received due to Mr. Pearson s
harassment. Mr. Pearson would regularly go door to door in the neighborhood asking the

The Myth Of Atalant The Hero s Journey By Joseph Campbell
When you want to understand ancient culture you don t only need to understand what they did, their
activities, or what they ate, you need to understand the myths and stories from those ancient cultures.
Joseph Campbell wrote that even if most myths are different and have different heroes, they all follow
the same path of The Hero s Journey. In the myth of Atalanta, the Heroine from the Myth of Atalanta,
Atalanta, does indeed follow all the three stages of The Hero s Journey by Joseph Campbell:
Departure, Decisive Victory, and The Return.
Atalanta begins the Hero s Journey with Departure. Departure means that a hero ventures forth to the
unknown, which is known as the supernatural wonder and leaves common day . (Doc A) When
Atalanta was born, her father was utterly disappointed and left her on a wild mountainside to die from
coldness and hunger... But then, a She Bear summoned by the goddess Artemis. (Doc B) When

Argumentative Essay On The Second World War
The Second World War As stated by Albert Einstein, As long as there are sovereign nations possessing
great power, war is inevitable. A German dictator s political manipulations before the Second World
War began secured him absolute power. The invasion of Poland during the war, and the formation of
the United Nations after the war. World War II was essential for the historical events that occurred in
that time. Even before the war started, pain and suffering were already widespread. Adolf Hitler s rise
to power was a monumental moment in history. According to the book, The Life and Death of Adolf
Hitler, Hitler rose to power as the result of sordid intrigues, gifts of money to wealthy industrialists,
and because soldiers of Germany terrorized the population (Giblin 231). Years after Hitler secured
power, the Nuremburg Laws were set in place and this is iconic because this is how the Nazis
discriminated the Jewish people. According to the Holocaust Symposium, The Nuremberg Laws
excluded the Jewish from Reich citizenship and prohibited them from having sexual relations with
German people (Glied 3). This discrimination escalated during Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken
Glass, which was the largest pre war hate attack on the Jewish. During Kristallnacht, synagogues,
Jewish homes, and Jewish businesses were attacked and plundered by the violent anti Jewish pogroms
throughout areas occupied by German troops (Glied 4). These variables are what will eventually start
World War II. John Steinbeck once said, All war is a symptom of man s failure as a thinking animal.
The invasion of Poland is momentous because this action marked the start of World War II. According
to History.com: Germans invade Poland, Germany invaded Poland because Hitler thought the
conquest of Poland would bring lebensraum, meaning living space, for the German people (History,
par. 1). A few years after the start of the Second World War, The Final Solution was implemented and
it was an imperative event since it is what lead to the Jewish people being killed by the Nazis. The
Final Solution involved the Jewish people being systematically murdered in killing centers through
mass deportation (Glied 6). On June 6, 1944, D Day occurred and it was

Character Analysis Of Spider Man
Peter Parker was having a great day at his field trip to Oscorp, until a radioactive spider bit him and
changed his life forever. Radioactive spiders are sadly not a scientific reality in our world today. If
they were, perhaps someone like Peter Parker would emerge as a real life web slinging superhero.
However, since no spiders are likely to bite any teenage boys from Queens, Peter Parker and Spider
Man will remain fictional characters. Despite this limitation, the character of Peter Parker manages to
inspire people of all ages and backgrounds across the world to achieve great things with the gifts they

Peter chooses to help people around Queens out of the goodness of his heart, because he knows he has
the power to. Before Uncle Ben dies, he tells Peter that with great power comes great responsibility
(The Amazing Spider Man). Peter takes this advice to heart and uses his powers to protect those who
are unable to protect themselves. When asked by Tony Stark why he chooses to fight crime, Peter
says, When you can do the things that I can, but you don t... and then the bad things happen, they
happen because of you. (Captain America: Civil War). This statement shows how Peter has taken on
the burden of powers by devoting himself to stopping bad things from happening. Peter s willingness
to take up his responsibilities to save innocent lives makes him a great character. Peter Parker s
devotion to his family elevates his character to a higher standard. Peter is devastated when his uncle
dies but doesn t allow his grief to pull him away from his aunt. He does everything in his power to
protect Aunt May from finding out his secret, because he knows how much she would worry about
him. After his best friend finds out about Spider Man, Peter begs him not to tell Aunt May by saying
You know what she s like, if she finds out that there are people out there who try to kill me every night
she won t let me do this anymore! (Spider Man: Homecoming). By saying this, he shows that he is
willing to deceive his aunt in order to protect his city.

Common Themes In Dystopian Movies
Throughout all four of my dystopian films a strong theme that has been brought to the surface is the
idea of individuality is the enemy . As a dystopian film is an illusion to the perfect society, they go
hand in hand. The illusion of a perfect society is typically maintained through the use of corporate
bodies and entities. Dystopian films are typical to play on the worst case scenario of a situation, within
the four films studied Divergent, Macbeth, V for Vendetta and Mokingjay part 2, the worst case
scenario is seen when the government takes control and citizens are under constant supervision or fear
for their everyday lives. Within these dystopian themes we can see where directors are drawing on for
their inspiration as our world is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are all themes that relate to homicides, people are generally killed when they have more power
then someone else or they simply don t want to deal with the problem anymore. It is in this movie that
we see Tris and Four defeat the system, they firstly defeat the system through their manner, the fact
that they are able to confront their deepest fears and are able to see through the idea of a perfect
society. Divergent s also work out that you don t need to be paired with people that share the mutual
hate that you have towards another faction in this case. Tris and Four manipulate the system as they
can see that the government has split up everyone so that they don t unite and combine all of their skill
sets. This is why we see that the government purposely divides people to stop them from combining
their skill sets and becoming more powerful then the government.
This relates to the homicide rate in Chicago in the current world as the year that Tris and Four
defeated the system the homicides in real life decreased. Showing that the homicide rate in Chicago
was used as a draw point to establish themes throughout the movie. Through the use of editing within
Divergent it is established that the relationships between the recruits and each other are civilized, the
editing is soft and flows on from once scene to the next, yet the editing between a body of authority
and a citizen is harsh, this resembles that power has been withheld over

The Evolution Of The Bible
The evolution of the Bible begins one hundred and fifty years after Jesus birth with Marcion of
Pontus, a Christian theologian and heretic. He was a faithful Christian but was dissatisfied with the
Jewish scripture because he believed that the God in the Old Testament was too harsh and legalistic.
The God in the Hebrew Bible was not the same God depicted by Jesus was the God that he believed
in. Without the churches consent, Marcion removed all traces of the Hebrew text (the Old Testament)
from his bible. Of course, at the time, people did not take well to his alteration but he was a catalyst
for the evolution of the Christian bible we know today. Many individuals wanted to create a solid
standing bible that could represent their faith but it was difficult to decide because of hundreds of
manuscripts in circulation around 150 A.D. Not until a century later would an official book be created.
Constantine emerged triumphant in a series of civil wars against the emperors Maxentius and Licinius
to become sole ruler of both west and east. At one of the battles, legend has it that he had a vision of a
cross and that Jesus spoke to him saying In my name, conquer . His victory and vision is said to be the
leading cause for his passion of the Christian faith. At the time, Rome held many different religious
beliefs, mostly Christian subsets. Because there wasn t one unified religion, Constantine made it his
mission to bring his people together. Because there was so much diversity,

Importance of Financial Ratios
Important Financial Ratios in Investment Analysis
Introduction
Financial ratios are derived ratio numbers from the financial statements of a company. Depending on
the task, financial ratios can serve to various purposes in accounting, legal, M A uses, etc. For
investors, financial ratios are very powerful in two ways: indentifying the company s unique
competitiveness and evaluating its stock price level. The first part helps investor find a truly valuable
company and the second part helps investor buy the stock at a bargain price.

In general the more liquid the current assets, the less the margin needed above current liabilities
(Graham, Meredith, p.34, 1998). The quick ratio is more descriptive than the current ration since it
excludes the inventory. For example, Apple, Inc. at the end of Sep 2010 has total current assets
$41,768m with cash and cash equivalents of $11,261m and total current liabilities $20,722m. The
current ratio of Apple is 2.02 and quick ratio 0.54, which are quite superior compared to other
industrial players (Table I). Obviously, we will have no wonder about Apple s profitability when we
are playing with an iPhone 4.
Profitability Ratio
Profitability ratios are direct signs of the company s business strengths. Return on equity is perhaps
the most important goal in operating a company is to earn net income for its owners (Wild, Shaw,
Chiappetta, p.697, 2008). A stable and higher than industry average ROE affirms that the company has
long term competitive advantage in its products or services over competitors that will ensure its future
earning and growth prosperity. The ROE of Apple is 35.28%, which win the top place in the personal
computer sector. It is worth mentioning that professional investors widely employ the so called
DuPont model, which is the net margin times total assets turnover times equity multiplier to compute

Flossing is just as important as brushing. In fact, it can remove bacteria and plaque that you may not
be able to get with your toothbrush. That is why you will want to floss at least once a day.
Change Your Diet
What you eat can have just as much impact on your teeth and gums as your diet. A nutritious diet can
start a process called remineralization. These minerals help strengthen the teeth. There was a study
done by a dentist named Dr. Weston Price. He has traveled around the world and analyzed the dental
habits of people in different cultures.
Interestingly, he found that many of the people had nice teeth even though they did not brush and floss
regularly. He found that these people were following diets that were high in fat soluble vitamins and
minerals. They also followed diets that were low in refined sugar.
Therefore, you can improve your oral health by eating plenty of fruits, vegetables and lean protein.
You will also need to limit your intake of sugar and processed foods. You may have heard that
chewing gum is not good for your teeth. However, sugar free gum can benefit your teeth by
stimulating saliva production.

Brave Test
Title: Brave Test
In the Disney princess movie Brave it opens with a family who are enjoying a day on a picnic. Later in
the movie the viewer finds out that this is not just an ordinary family, but a royal family over a
kingdom. This family includes the king, Fergus, the queen, Eleanor, their daughter, Merida, and their
three sons, Hurbert, Harris, and Hamish. The movie is set in the Scottish Kingdom, and just like in
every kingdom the king is the ruler, but in the viewer s perspective of Brave this does not seem to be
the case. In the movie, the character Elinor steps out of her assigned role of a queen, developing the
epic.

The muffin did change her mother, but not in a way that Merida expected, Elinor was converted into a
bear! When Merida and Elinor realized, it had changed queen Elinor into a bear the two of them were
both frightened, because they knew if Fergus or anyone else saw Elinor she would be killed.
Therefore, Merida attempted to flee the castle, to return to the witch, who could revert her mother
back. However, they were heard by Fergus and he gathered the clans to slaughter, the thing that he
thought took his leg; a bear. As Elinor and Merida dash into the woods, Elinor begins to see Merida s
passion and love for the outdoors. When they arrive at the river, Merida immediately leaped in, Elinor
sits back and watches at first then she notices there is food in the river. As a result, Elinor takes off her
crown and joins Merida in attempt to catch some fish to eat. As Merida teaches her mom how to catch
the fish, and they begin to play in the water, the viewer can feel and notice the rebuilding of the
mother daughter relationship that Elinor and Merida once had. As soon as they leave the river, Elinor
leaves behind her crown, displaying the passing of the old and the coming of the new. The viewer also
saw Elinor s hair had changed from in two braids to down and flowing, which also shows the
deference in Elinor. Elinor stepping out of her designed role as a queen develops Merida s character
and demonstrates the theme of Merida contesting the tradition of the Anglo Saxon

Leonid Frridman s Essay America Needs Its Nerds
In the passage, America Needs Its Nerds, by Leonid Fridman he develops his argument by using the
three pillars of literature: pathos, ethos and logos.
Firstly, in lines 20 23, 28 pathos was used to develop the author s argument about children who prefers
learning or creating things versus children who play sports. He used this as an example to appeal to his
readers emotions because these children who preferred invention over sports are known as social
outcasts and are ostracized for being intelligent or wanting to show off their talent. The author was
clearly showing his emotion in line 28 Enough is enough to get his readers to understand the feeling
by putting yourself in that child s position.
Second, ethos was used to try and convince

Ethical Implications of Chemical, Biological and Nuclear Warfare
Thesis
As current problems of terrorism and the war on Iraq, chemical, biological and nuclear warfare
(CBW) issues are important and relevant. CBW agents are dangerous, uncontrollable and
undifferentiating weapons of mass destructions. Chemical, biological and nuclear weapons are capable
of mass destruction aimed at killing masses of people. Using CBW agents comes with many ethical
dilemmas and consequential side effects. Chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons are designed to
yield a great number of deaths. Regarding the ethical use of CBW, while looking at the larger context

These are just a few examples of many accounts of the use of chemical and biological agents in war.
Is the use of chemical, biological or nuclear weapons in war ethical? Is there an appropriate time to
use them? A dilemma will later be presented for consideration. Different ethical theories can either
support or oppose the use of CBW depending on the circumstances. However, chemical, biological
and nuclear agents are dangerous, uncontrollable and undifferentiating weapons of mass destructions.
Actions must be taken to see that there are no future instances of use during war. However, before one
discusses the legal and ethical issues involved with CBW, one must understand what chemical,
biological and nuclear weapons are and how they function.
Chemical Weapons
There are many types of chemical agents that can be used for a variety of effects. Most are not meant
to be lethal, but most chemicals at high concentrations can be lethal. Vomiting gases are used for riot
control or harassing agents and are only meant to irritate. The body attempts to counter the irritation
either by secreting fluids or by initiating reflex actions, for instance, vomiting, (Rose, 1968, p. 20). It
is the incapacitating nature of these responses that gives vomiting gases their harassing effects and
name.

The Elite Tactical scope has magnification from 6 times to 24 times. This gives you effective ranges

Bushnell has two features to increase light transmission in the Elite Tactical scope. The first is the
oversize 50mm objective lens. A larger objective lens, or opening, simply allows the scope to gather
more light. This makes vision in low light conditions much better. Second, Bushnell applies their Ultra
Wide Band Coating to the lenses to cut down light reflection. Both of these features combine to
maximize this scope s light gathering ability.
Weatherproof
As people with glasses know, moisture is the enemy of all optics. Rifle scopes are no exception.
Bushnell s Rainguard HD lens coating repels moisture to prevent blurring and fogging, even in the
rain. On the inside of the scope, a nitrogen purge acts as a barrier to moisture to prevent fogging as
well. A little rain isn t going to affect your shooting with this scope.
Parallax Adjustment
All high quality scopes have an adjustment to eliminate errors due to parallax. The Elite Tactical has a
convenient adjustment on the side that enables the shooter to adjust parallax to the desired shooting
distance from a shooting position. This is a great feature that most precision shooters will

personality; sexual instinct is present at birth, but it occurs in stages. The sex instinct provides the
driving force for thought and activity. If conflicts from these stages are not resolved fixations may
occur. If overindulgence at a stage may result in a person remaining at that stage. Certain personality
traits develop from difficulty in one stage or another, for instance the anal stage can give the obsession

The World And Battle Of Gods Essay
Each historian or story teller, like EnumaElish, Hesiod, and Confucius, has his own understanding of
history due to the subjects that they focus on, type of evidence, and reliability of their evidence. These
historians are from different civilizations, so each one of text might be based on dissimilar life style
that they lived. All of the historians have some specific topics to talk about, like culture and war. Also,
having strong evidence will make their text much reliable, and people can use their texts and telling
their children about the history of their region. As an example of this situation, because my father was

on the creation of the world and battle of gods. The gods were Tiamat and Apsu. They were husband

author, there had not been humans created yet. In other words, there were only gods which gave birth
to this generation. When they created humans, they made humans to serve them and obey their laws.In
a comparison, in the ancient Greek, we are used to hear how much their gods meant to the Greek
people. This rule does not apply to the text of Hesiod. Hesiod concentrated

North American and European Airline Industry Essay
North American and European Airline Industry

The Airline industry is one of the world s largest industries generating over $300 billion in revenues in
2001 alone and additionally has the second highest industrial growth rate, after the computer industry,
with typical growth rates of 3 5% per annum over the last 20 years (Humphreys, 2003; BA Fact book,

For the purpose of this assignment, freight/cargo airline activities will not be considered as freight
travel consists of only 2 % of total airline activity (see figure 3.1 and appendix 1) (BA Fact book,

This has had significant implications for an industry which relies on these passengers for
approximately two thirds of its revenue (Economist, 2001). The reduction in business passenger
numbers has resulted not only in adding to the already existing overcapacity problem but also in
increasing competitive pressures, the resultant effect being a persistent downtrend in airfares. In fact,
after adjusting for inflation airline revenues per passenger kilometre are about half the level of 30
years ago (BA Fact Book, 2002). The birth of the low cost carriers and the increasing market share
they have acquired has further exacerbated this downward trend as passengers become more price
sensitive.

The airline industry is also very much in the political frontline (see figure 1.1). The implications of

The Impact Of Military Engagements On The Peace, Economy...
The purpose of this paper is to persuade and demonstrate that ongoing Military engagements are direct
contributors to the peace, economy and political stability throughout Southeast Asia.
The History and Economic Relationships After the Spanish American war a series of opportunities
brought a lot of regional players and foreign powers to the Philippines, the United States took the
position that Spain once had. The Unites States saw the Philippines islands as a strategic place that
would open commerce and trade to the far east Asia from the beginning and their stance did not

The Debate Over Nuclear Waste
It is established that energy cannot be created nor destroyed and it could not be made out of nothing
according the law of conservation of energy. The way that science explains the phenomenon of energy
conservation is by portraying the conservation of energy as a physical transfer of energy between
mediums through various forms such as heat, sound, and light. Since the discovery of fire in the early
days of humanity, it can be understood that heat is the most versatile form of energy. On the expense
of sacrificial physical matter, heat is produced particularly natural resource such as fossil fuels. While

into individual byproducts for example, carbon dioxide and water. In contrast, electrical power plants
use nuclear resources such as uranium and plutonium pellets. When these nuclear resources are used,

Recent Changes in the Nursing Profession Essay
There have been many changes (major and minor) in the nursing profession and the medical field, as a
whole, over the years. Some of these changes include changing demographics and increasing
diversity, technological explosion, the cost of health care, and significant advances in nursing science
and research. Major socioeconomic changes created this drive to make transformations in nursing and
institutions. These institutions are the ones that are responsible for educating the next generation of
nurses, such as West Coast University.
Over the years, there have been major shifts within the United States in regards to its population.
Statisticians have estimated that 20% of the population will be 65 years of age and older. There is an

technological changes, there have been improvements in both the outcomes and patient care
management areas. Information is now just a webpage away and readily available for clinicians and
their patients.
For all of mankind, the cost of health care is a major daily stressor. This article stated an interesting
fact that, A concern of businesses and governments for at least 30 years, the cost of health care in the
United States has approached 15 percent of the total gross national product (Barbara R. Heller, Marla
T. Oros, and Jane Durney Crowley, 2013, para. 19). Even with that fact, there are over 40 million
individuals living in the United States that do not have health care coverage. The total health care
spending in America surpasses that of any other developed country. This is due to technological
advances that are readily available and breakthroughs in medicine. Still, there are present concerns in
nursing practices, such as: the affects on the nursing profession, treatment options for their patients,
and the patients participation in their own care. This article stated, Nursing professionals, who have
historically taken the lead in health education and health promotion, are disappointed by the lack of
financing and reimbursement available through managed care organizations for

The Crime Of Money Laundering
1.0 Background of study
Over a long period of time, corruption has been the focal point of every government, media and
academics globally. Through money laundering, proceeds of crime can be disguised. Proceeds of
crime can simply be put as money earned from profit oriented crime. The methods used are many and
highly complicated. Corruption is one of the organised crime which is said to be primarily associated
with the laundering of proceeds through money laundering. Technological tools accord further
chances for individuals to employ money laundering as a process of cleaning up dirty money and
obscure the trail leading back to the underlying crime.
The crime of money laundering has been illustrated by many as the means of support for many crimes
and is a main threat to the economic and social security of societies. These activities have become a
global problem in the second half of the 20th century similar to the fiery increase of drug trade. The
term has been extensively acknowledged and popularly being employed globally.
Often, as it is known that the origins of criminal proceeds were from drug trafficking, many law
enforcers have now expanded their application to offences such as human trafficking, cybercrime,
illegal arms sales and smuggling. Many countries such as Malaysia, United Kingdom, Australia,
United States of America and Switzerland have given due consideration over prevention of money
laundering, especially in relation to corruption.

Dr. Billy Mitchell And The Father Of The Modern Air Force
Being a visionary leader well before the world is ready for your ideas can get you, court marshaled.
Let us look at a visionary but unethical leader Brigadier General Billy Mitchell. General Billy
Mitchell is known as the father of the modern air force but was court marshaled because he believed
so strongly about his vision he made an unethical decision. General Mitchell was a visionary leader
because he knew that the aircraft could be put to better use. General Mitchell used intellectual
stimulation to get the best from his employees by inspiring creativity from them to help develop his
visionary ideas. General Mitchell s downfall is that he was not emotionally flexible when he
discovered resistance to change. The second point to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Barnes Center for Enlisted Education [BCEE], 2016a). He stood by their solution and it not only
showed loyalty, but that he valued their intellect and judgment, and he was willing to take risks based
on their input (BCEE, 2016a). General Mitchell subordinates, World War I ace Eddie Rickenbacker,
future American generals Hap Arnold and Major Carl Tooey Spaatz testified on his behalf at his court
marshal by arguing for leader s decision to support their ideas so forcibly. (DeSantis , 2016). This
proved that he had he had their loyalty from valuing their judgment and supporting their ideas.
General Mitchell also failed to use emotional flexibility when he encountered resistance to change.
General Mitchell was determined to implement his changes but unfortunately, he verbally attacked his
superiors in the War and Navy departments (Godbey, 2016). He called them nearsighted regarding the
need for wartime airpower and questioned their judgment (Godbey, 2016). This action proves that
General Mitchell lacked emotional flexibility. Emotional flexibility is the ability to change how you
deal with your own and others emotions and an emotionally flexible leader is comfortable with the
process of change,

Kris Gastelum Case Study
The UFC travels to Long Island, New York on Saturday for a card headlined by a fighter who is ready
risk it all for a win in his native state a win that he has chased for quite some time. That fighter, No. 5
ranked middleweight and former title holder Chris Weidman, will face rising star and No. 8 ranked
middleweight Kelvin Gastelum in the main event of the evening. Weidman has lost three straight
fights, including a title defense against Luke Rockhold and loses to Yoel Romero and most recently
Gegard Mousasi in April. He hasn t won a fight since May 2015, and his loss to Mousasi was as
confusing to the fans as it was to him. After absorbing consecutive knees to the head that were initially
declared illegal by the referee Dan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Michael Bisping stepped in on two weeks notice and shockingly won the title that Weidman was
trying to get back. If Weidman wants to get back to his winning ways, he ll have to be at the top of his
game against a young and hungry lion. Gastelum looks like he has finally found a home in the
middleweight division after struggling to make weight for fights in the welterweight division. In his
last bout, he looked impressive against Belfort, finishing him in the first round and winning
Performance of the Night honors. However, the fight was later overturned due to a positive marijuana
test. Prior to the Belfort fight, Gastelum dominated Tim Kennedy at UFC 206 with a third round KO,
cementing his place in the division. Gastelum, 25 years old, showed tremendous hand speed and the
ability to take a punch in both fights, making him a far more dangerous fighter than he s often given
credit for. Now fighting at a more comfortable weight, he has shown speed and athleticism that gives
him the potential to wreak havoc in the 185 pound division. Gastelum s only losses in the UFC have
come by split decision to welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and No. 6 ranked welterweight Neil
Magny. Aside Kennedy, he has key victories over Uriah Hall, Johny Hendricks, Nate Marquardt and
Jake Ellenberger. A win over Weidman could catapult Gastelum up the middleweight rankings, while a
win for Weidman could potentially land him back into

2) Frame the right problem The issue is that our department is staffing inappropriately. Our busiest
days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday averaging forty patients per day. However, only four nurses
are scheduled on our busiest days. That is ten critical patients per nurse, which is not only unsafe but
leads to decreased morale, mistakes and an inability to leave work on time. 3) Describe end state and
goals My goal, over the course of this class is to change the staff schedule to match that of the
operating room and to transition to Stay Staffed self scheduling systems hospital wide. The daily
schedule will include but is not limited to a minimum of six nurses per day with schedules that parallel
the operating room turnover times. Also, I have begun working with upper level management on a
program that allows critically ill, intubated patients to bypass the recovery room and be directly
admitted to the critical care area that the patient is assigned to. This saves the patient and family
money and decreases patient load for the recovery room staff. My goal is to hire three new nurses and
change the staff schedule from (4) twelve hour days to (3 to 4) eight to ten hour days and create a
weekend on call team. Instead of mandatory overtime, create a sign up list and make overtime
optional. Please see example of new schedule below:

  • 4. Analysis Of Paris Is Burning COMPARISON OF PARIS IS BURNING AND HOW TO SURVIVE A PLAGUE Ava Morrow History 3220 The United States in the 20th Century November 13, 2017 Beginning in the mid 1980 s, a number of efforts were initiated to bring awareness and enlightenment to the actual tragedy of AIDS. Two films that evolved out of these awareness campaigns were the documentaries Paris Is Burning and How to Survive a Plague . Both films, although in significantly diverse ways, provide a window into the alternative lifestyles of LGBT people of the times and the problems and issues they faced. A comparison of these two documentaries demonstrates the initial fears of the public and affected people and the beginnings of acceptance or at least tolerance of these alternative lifestyles. The movie Paris Is Burning is a documentary film exploring race, gender, and sexuality within the African American and Latino gay and transgender communities of the ball culture of New York in the mid to late 1980 s. Ball culture is a term used to describe the underground sub culture of LGBT people who walk or compete for trophies in events known as balls. The film chronicles the ostentatiously arranged competitions in which participants, within a very specific theme, must walk while being judged on criteria such as the authenticity and beauty of their apparel and their dancing ability. Much of the film shows footage of actual balls interspersed with interviews of prominent members of this drag scene. The film shows people of different gender identities and their varied methods of expressing themselves while also exploring how they cope with racism, AIDS, poverty, and homophobia. How to Survive a Plague is a documentary movie which depicts the early years of the AIDS epidemic and the efforts of ACT UP and other groups. ACT UP, founded in March 1987, is an advocacy group which supports legislation and medical research and treatment of AIDS victims. The film used archived footage of news coverage, interviews, protests, meetings, and conferences to chronicle the struggles of AIDS activists from the start of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in New York City. This adds a new branch to the human species family tree. Modern humans, who belong to a specie named Homo sapiens, continue to be until today the only living species in our genus. But 20,000 years ago there were other species of the genus Homo that are now referred as hominins . The discovering of Lee R. It s brain was no larger than a baseball, its shoulders and torso primitive, its fingers long and curved, allowing H. naledi to climb and swing from the trees. [...] Its long legs and feet, nearly indistinguishable from those of modern man, allowed it not only to walk upright but also to travel for many miles at a time reported from The Washington Post Amy Ellis Nutt. Scientists also believe that Homo naledi buried their dead. The number of bodies, their location, and the hard access characteristic of the cave makes scientists believe that Naledi species left deliberately bodies in caves as a way of burying them. This has been considered as a behavior limited to modern humans and never seen before in such a primitive human, reported The New York Times. This could have big implications for understanding the origins of modern human behavior. They may have used tools. The hands suggest tool using capabilities as they had extremely curved fingers. • 9. Argumentative Essay On The Second World War The Second World War As stated by Albert Einstein, As long as there are sovereign nations possessing great power, war is inevitable. A German dictator s political manipulations before the Second World War began secured him absolute power. The invasion of Poland during the war, and the formation of the United Nations after the war. World War II was essential for the historical events that occurred in that time. Even before the war started, pain and suffering were already widespread. Adolf Hitler s rise to power was a monumental moment in history. According to the book, The Life and Death of Adolf Hitler, Hitler rose to power as the result of sordid intrigues, gifts of money to wealthy industrialists, and because soldiers of Germany terrorized the population (Giblin 231). Years after Hitler secured power, the Nuremburg Laws were set in place and this is iconic because this is how the Nazis discriminated the Jewish people. According to the Holocaust Symposium, The Nuremberg Laws excluded the Jewish from Reich citizenship and prohibited them from having sexual relations with German people (Glied 3). This discrimination escalated during Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, which was the largest pre war hate attack on the Jewish. During Kristallnacht, synagogues, Jewish homes, and Jewish businesses were attacked and plundered by the violent anti Jewish pogroms throughout areas occupied by German troops (Glied 4). These variables are what will eventually start World War II. John Steinbeck once said, All war is a symptom of man s failure as a thinking animal. The invasion of Poland is momentous because this action marked the start of World War II. According to History.com: Germans invade Poland, Germany invaded Poland because Hitler thought the conquest of Poland would bring lebensraum, meaning living space, for the German people (History, par. 1). A few years after the start of the Second World War, The Final Solution was implemented and it was an imperative event since it is what lead to the Jewish people being killed by the Nazis. The Final Solution involved the Jewish people being systematically murdered in killing centers through mass deportation (Glied 6). On June 6, 1944, D Day occurred and it was ... Tris and Four manipulate the system as they can see that the government has split up everyone so that they don t unite and combine all of their skill sets. He was a faithful Christian but was dissatisfied with the Jewish scripture because he believed that the God in the Old Testament was too harsh and legalistic. The God in the Hebrew Bible was not the same God depicted by Jesus was the God that he believed in. Without the churches consent, Marcion removed all traces of the Hebrew text (the Old Testament) from his bible. Of course, at the time, people did not take well to his alteration but he was a catalyst for the evolution of the Christian bible we know today. Many individuals wanted to create a solid standing bible that could represent their faith but it was difficult to decide because of hundreds of manuscripts in circulation around 150 A.D. Michael Bisping stepped in on two weeks notice and shockingly won the title that Weidman was trying to get back. If Weidman wants to get back to his winning ways, he ll have to be at the top of his game against a young and hungry lion. Gastelum looks like he has finally found a home in the middleweight division after struggling to make weight for fights in the welterweight division. In his last bout, he looked impressive against Belfort, finishing him in the first round and winning Performance of the Night honors. However, the fight was later overturned due to a positive marijuana test. Prior to the Belfort fight, Gastelum dominated Tim Kennedy at UFC 206 with a third round KO, cementing his place in the division. Gastelum, 25 years old, showed tremendous hand speed and the ability to take a punch in both fights, making him a far more dangerous fighter than he s often given credit for. Now fighting at a more comfortable weight, he has shown speed and athleticism that gives him the potential to wreak havoc in the 185 pound division. Gastelum s only losses in the UFC have come by split decision to welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and No. 6 ranked welterweight Neil Magny. Aside Kennedy, he has key victories over Uriah Hall, Johny Hendricks, Nate Marquardt and Jake Ellenberger. A win over Weidman could catapult Gastelum up the middleweight rankings, while a win for Weidman could potentially land him back into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Our busiest days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday averaging forty patients per day. However, only four nurses are scheduled on our busiest days. That is ten critical patients per nurse, which is not only unsafe but leads to decreased morale, mistakes and an inability to leave work on time. 3) Describe end state and goals My goal, over the course of this class is to change the staff schedule to match that of the operating room and to transition to Stay Staffed self scheduling systems hospital wide. The daily schedule will include but is not limited to a minimum of six nurses per day with schedules that parallel the operating room turnover times. Also, I have begun working with upper level management on a program that allows critically ill, intubated patients to bypass the recovery room and be directly admitted to the critical care area that the patient is assigned to. This saves the patient and family money and decreases patient load for the recovery room staff. My goal is to hire three new nurses and change the staff schedule from (4) twelve hour days to (3 to 4) eight to ten hour days and create a weekend on call team. Instead of mandatory overtime, create a sign up list and make overtime optional. Please see example of new schedule below: RN PACU | | Mon | Tues | Wed | Thur | Fri | RN A | | 8 to 6 ...
