Reconstruction Area I personally have never read a history book like this from taking 1301 or
any history class in grade school, but they are very interesting once you read into them
especially Reconstruction, Americas unfinished revolution is a very informative book if you
know nothing about Reconstruction. Eric Foner the author of this book writes it so well, so it
is easy to understand. A bit of background on Foner, he is a history professor at Columbia
University, he is one of the country s most prominent historians, He received a doctoral degree at
Colombia under the supervision of Richard Hofstadter, He is one of the only two people to
serve as president of three major professional organizations which are the organization of
American historians, American historical association and the society of American historians.
He is also one of not very many that have won the Bancroft and Pulitzer prizes in the same year.
Fonner writes all his on the subjects such as political and social history, the history of the
American race relations. He is best known for his books Free soil, Free labor, Free men: The
Ideology of the republican party before the civil war. Eric Fonner is overall a great author,

Diction is important part of writing and understanding poetry because each story helps create the
poem tone, mood, and all the poetic literary devices. Each word helps create a thoughtful heartfelt
short story. No word is put in a poem without a reason, in my poem I mentioned Jospeh colorful
coat because coat rhymed with boat. Poetry is about the diction and understand why they are
there, to reveal the hidden message within the poem. In the poem Nothing Gold Can Stay by
Robert Frost the message about sinning and how that stays with a person. Robert Frost did not
use the word sin once in his poem but used other words to get his message across like Eden sank
(Frost 6) and nothing gold can stay (Frost 8). To me the diction is the key to poetry because the
author wants to send a message of the story to the readers, but also wants the readers to use their

The Josie King story is truly unimaginable. I wish I could review her chart to better understand
how she fell through the cracks. It seems hard to believe that the signs of increasing dehydration
went unnoticed or even worse, were viewed as normal . Even more difficult to believe is that the
nurses were unable to create a partnership with the mother. In the story, it seems as if the mom was
dismissed as a partner in the process and felt as if no one was listening to her. Although a family
member may not have the medical knowledge a nursehas, they have knowledge of their child and
that is lost without their help. What would have happened if the nurse spent a moment to
understand where Josie s mother was coming from or called the doctor to communicate her
symptoms? Did she truly believe her symptoms were normal or was she too busy with
something else? It shouldn t be possible to have a child be NPO without IV fluids running.
While it takes children a long time to stop compensating, I m sure there were signs of
dehydration. During a bath, the mom notes how furiously Josie was sucking on a wet washcloth.
If it was known that she was not drinking, how could these signs have been missed? It seems as
though a total breakdown in obvious behavior and team communication is evident. The care

Anna Maria Island One evening in April, we headed to Bishop airport in flint,to fly to Tampa,

8:30 pm. The plane ride took about 2 hours and 30 minutes. We finally arrived in Tampa, Florida.
My grandma and grandpa picked us up and we hit the road for about another hour. My aunt, uncle,
and my two cousins were meeting us at the house we rented on Anna Maria Island. We crossed a
huge bridge that took us to Anna Maria Island. We arrived at the house at midnight.The house had 4
