As I scanned my boarding pass and walked down the tunnel hallway that led to the
airplane, my heart began to beat a little faster in my chest and my hands got
clammy. I had never been outside of the country before! After boarding the
airplane, I sat down in my seat next to my dad, so ecstatic to finally be on my way
to Peru for my first mission trip! With the seat belt fastened snugly across my hips
and the cool air from the vents comfortably blowing on my face, I peered out the
window as the planetook off, my excitement growing as we rose up past the clouds
into the clear blue sky. Although it felt like any other normal flight, somehow I knew
this one would be different.
Shortly after we took off and reached a higher elevation, I put my tray table down in
preparation for the meal and drinks that were being served by the flight attendants.
Rolling their food and drink carts in front of them, the flight attendants slowly made
their way down the aisle. Finally, they reached my row and I received my first
international flight meal mozzarella cheese, basil, and tomato sandwich, a square of
cheesecake, and a small chocolate. As I was unwrapping my sandwich and getting
ready to enjoy my meal, totally captivated by the newness and the excitement of it all,
the plane suddenly experienced some unexpected turbulence. Nothing crazy at first,
only a couple bumps that caused me to hold on to the arm rests and grow a little

role in doing two things specifically, one was to get the women out to work, support

It was only supposed to be a nice day at the pond. Although it was summer, most of
the days had been muggy, and under 65 degrees. Finally, Beyulah and I had a
breakthrough. We woke with the sun shining through my window and a 80 degree
forecast, so we packed a water bottle, sparkling cider, and a pack of Twixв„ў and got
onto our bikes.
Immediately we encountered a problem. As we reached the main road, a huge
construction truck was parked at the end of my street, we found the road was
being repaved. The workers said that we could wait for the pilot car and ride along
with the cars, so that s what we began to do. But, as we sat, the sun beating down on
us, Beyulah and I couldn t stand it any longer. We hopped back on our bikes, and
started riding down the other dirt road that looped through houses then back to the
main road.
We got a little over a mile up that road when I had an idea. We can keep going down
here and get there normally, or we can ride down one of these older sketchy trails I

that free Internet radio services like Pandora will pay record companies for the next
five years, a decision that has been closely watched in the music industry and on Wall
Street.
A summation of the decision was posted by the panel, the Copyright Royalty Board,
Pandora and other webcasters like it, will have to pay record companies 17 cents for
every 100 times they play a song when they stream music to listeners who do not pay
for subscriptions. The current rate is 14 cents.
The decision to take effect this year 2016 requires that Pandora, one of the largest
internet radio services, pay millions more in royalties to performing artists and record
label companies for using their music on their radio station. Pandora apparently

The editorial, weaponized words written by Kate Manne and Jason Stanley is a cry
for help in the world of politics, which argues that the freedom of speech laws allow
for the voices of dominant social groups to overpower those that are inferior. This
opinion is also shown in the third political cartoon provided, that shows two different
social groups under the same freedom of speechumbrella, who have to deal with each
other constantly trying to oppress the other. These laws make it hard for any
advancement of the lower class societies.
The belief that the freedom of speech laws, or the first amendment, need to be
more concrete can be seen in the first political cartoon. This cartoon shows, again,
two rival social groups, both are equals, however one of the social groups is using
their freedom of speech in a improper way, and they are not being punished or
prohibited in any way. This shows the oppression of a certain social group that is not
being stopped. Much like in the editorial, which states that Yale students are being

The author(s) stated that to truly have freedom of speech, one must be able to
question, contradict, and even lampoon the assertions of others meaning you should
be able to disagree with another person s claims, publicly if needed or wanted. This
is shown in the second cartoon, where the NRA member is telling people, in a rude
and unnecessary manner, that he disagrees with what they are doing. At the top of
the cartoon, it states if only we had an NRA to defend the first amendment which
shows the belief that the first amendment is not getting enough support and
protection, yet smaller programs like the NRA are standing up for less important
