Computer Literacy Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of computer literacy can present both challenges and opportunities
for expression. The difficulty lies in striking a balance between technical details and accessibility
for a broader audience. It requires a thorough understanding of the subject matter, as well as the
ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
One of the challenges is the ever-evolving nature of technology. Staying current with the latest
advancements and trends in computer literacy is crucial to providing accurate and relevant
information. Additionally, conveying the importance of computer literacy to readers who may
have varying levels of familiarity with the subject can be demanding. Striking the right tone to
captivate both tech-savvy individuals and those less acquainted with the topic requires a
nuanced approach.
Researching credible sources and organizing the information coherently is another aspect that
adds to the complexity. Balancing technical details with real-world examples and practical
applications is essential to ensure the essay remains informative and accessible. It is not merely
about presenting facts but also about creating a narrative that engages the reader and emphasizes
the significance of computer literacy in our increasingly digital world.
Moreover, crafting a compelling introduction and conclusion becomes crucial to frame the essay
effectively. The introduction should grab the reader's attention and establish the relevance of the
topic, while the conclusion should leave a lasting impression and reinforce the key takeaways.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on computer literacy can be challenging, it provides an
opportunity to explore a vital aspect of modern life. It demands a delicate balance between
technical depth and accessibility, as well as a commitment to staying abreast of the dynamic
field of technology. Despite the challenges, the process can be rewarding, offering a chance to
contribute to the understanding of an essential skill in today's society.

Matsushita And Phillips Case Analysis
Matsushita and Phillips Phillips and Matsushita are both electronics companies that
started relatively around the same time, faced problems around the same time and
went through failures and successes that they themselves created. Phillips
Introduction Phillips started out in Holland and became very successful, very
quickly, becoming the third largest light bulb producer in Europe. Phillips continued
to focus on light bulbs as others in the industry began to branch out. By 1919,
however, Phillips entered into an agreement with General Electric and began to
become a less centralized company and into a more decentralized sales organization.
Organizational Development The National Organizations (NOs) during the war
proved to be the most successful, due to their self sufficiency and allowance to adapt
to current, country specific market conditions. Eventually, responsiveness extended
beyond adaptive marketing. They began to take from one market and implement into
another. While Phillips in Canada created the company s first color TV, Phillips in the
UK created the first TVs with teletext. While the formal corporate structure existed,
NOs were the ones in charge. Reorganization Phillips had to abandon their attempts at
VHS when the North American Phillips outsourced their VHS project to Matsushita.
In 1971, with a new CEO became a new structure. This occurred with many different
CEOs at different times with the company and still in 2009 the financials remained

Corpus Delicti
Corpus delicti is a Latin statement meaning the body of the crime. This statement is
used to identify the six elements of a crime. The main purpose of these six elements
is to prove guilt or innocence in the suspect. The criminal act known as actus reus, or
the guilty act, states that there must be a voluntary act committed with the intent of
committing a crimeto give suspicion that you are capable of the crime committed.
The thoughts and plan to commit are not a crime of guilt until acted upon making it
an attempt. This act was committed when the patient attacked Sara.
The mental state of mind in which you knowingly commit a crime with the intentions
of causing a criminal act is called, mens rea. There are different elemental categories
of mens rea. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These factors may be age, use of weapon, money, race, ethnicity, religion, disabilities,
and gender. These circumstances must be easily provable. The patient in the video
clearly shows that the offender lacked the right state of mind. The offender also had a
weapon held to her neck with the intent of harming her.
Most crimes are crimes due to the injury of another or ones property. Crimes
involving harm are categorized into two sections based on the harm inflicted on the
victim. The patient attempted and showed a threat of harm to Sara. The man ended
up causing more harm to himself.
The main purpose of criminal law is to protect citizens and property from harmful
criminals. There are four criminal laws. The constitutional laws are the written laws
in the constitution. Government officials, like the legislative branch, enforce
statutory laws. Rules that are carried out to complete the role of safety are
administrative laws. The final law is the case law. The case law is basically the
incorporation of all the laws that are decided in court. These laws are all important to
ensure safety for
The Control Variables For Investment Derivatives Use
The control variables used in this thesis were selected based on previous literature.
Including the variables that previous researchers have shown to influence firm
derivatives use will improve the explanatory power of the model (Knopf et al., 2002).
3.4.1Control variable for CDS model
Drawing upon the existing literature in derivatives use, CDS use is modeled as a
function of CEOs risk taking incentives generated by stock options compensation
(vega) and the following control variables: growth opportunities, financial distress
(leverage), firm focus (diversification), managers risk aversion, delta, bank size, and
other derivatives.
Growth opportunities are considered by previous studies to affect derivatives use
(Smith and Stulz, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Smith and Stulz (1985), firms that face higher expected costs of
financial distress have larger incentives to use derivatives because derivatives can
reduce the present value of bankruptcy and the probability of financial distress.
Firms can use derivatives to reduce the variance of a firm s cash flow or earnings
which enable firm to have sufficient cash flow to fulfill its fixed payment
obligations and reduce the probability of financial distress (Aretz and Bartram,
2010; Supanvanij and Strauss, 2010). Similarly to previous studies, I have used
leverage as a proxy for financial distress (e.g., Tufano, 1996; Rogers, 2002; Aretz and
Bartram, 2010). Leverage is measured with the ratio of total debt to book value of
assets (e.g., Coles et al; 2006).
I include diversification as a control variable for firm focus. Earlier empirical
studies (e.g., Tufano, 1996; GГ©czy et al., 2007) suggest a negative relationship
between the degree of diversification and derivatives use. Firms can choose to
reduce firm risk through changing the level of diversification (Coles et al., 2006;
Bartram et al., 2011). For all the banks in the sample, I collect information on the
degree of diversification which is measured by the number of geographical
segments of the firm at the end of each year (GГ©czy et al., 1997; Fung et al.,
2012). The primary source of data on the number of segments is Datastream
Social Class in Uk
Social Class in UK
The term social class is in UK is a controversial issue,David J Lee said The use of
the concept class in sociology has come under attack , which having many
definitions. And as the tile shows, there are even disagreements over its very
existence. Before we get into the details, at least, let us look at one definition. Social
class is a set of concepts in the social sciences and political theory centered on
models of social stratification in which people are grouped into a set of hierarchical
social categories(Grant, J. Andrew (2001). Encyclopedia of International Political
Economy ).British society had social class since the beginning of the history, and the

Marx thinks that the limited power of the worker is the base of the exploitation
and the reason for the conflict. He also believe that both of the class has their own
wariness of the situation and unequal states, they know their social position and
why it is the way it is. But appearance of calm is the result of the education of the
capitalists . The workers are told they world works this way and it is unchangeable,
the both parties are compatible with each other. And he suggests that workers need to
be reeducated to gain control of the mind. Then there will be confrontation and
gaining of leverage in asking for better treatment or even revolution to put an end to
the very existence of class . The radical solution comes from careful philosophical
thinking.
Weber s analysis of class likes Marx s. The difference is he sees the social classes
as more complex classes, and he argues about social stratification in social class with
wider meaning. Weber argues, Marx s famous dictum that Class . . . is ultimately
market situation should be read in the light of his methodological individualism, with
the result that class analysis reduces to a weak rump of residual questions about
natural inequality and
Essay Bulimia Nervosa
BULIMIA NERVOSA 307.51 (F50.2)
Introduction
Individuals diagnosed with bulimia nervosa undertake frequent binge eating,
followed by expelling the food, typically by inducing vomiting, but also through
exercising and the use of laxative agents, diuretics, and enemas (American
Psychiatric Association, 2013). The binge eating occurrences are often prompted by
a negative perception of one s body image, temporarily alleviated by the binge eating
episode. Since the individual with bulimia nervosa is overanxious about body weight,
purging of the food is viewed as a necessity. This is in contrast to binge eating
disorder, which does not involve the purging of food after an excess of food
consumption (Bulik et al., 2012). Furthermore, although ... Show more content on

There is an additional feature that must be present alongside these symptoms in
order for a patient to be diagnosed with bulimia nervosa: any binge eating events
followed by compensation needs to be relatively frequent. Specifically, if these
events take place at a minimum of one time per week over a 3 month timespan then
a diagnosis of bulimia nervosa may be made. Although these are the symptoms that
must be present in order for a diagnosis of bulimia nervosa to be made, there are
often other symptoms that accompany bulimia nervosa. Signs of psychosis have been
found in patients with eating disorders like bulimia nervosa (Miotto et al., 2010).
Moreover, those with bulimia nervosa frequently have the feeling that there is
something flawed with their mind, and that others are at fault for their problems
(Miotto et al., 2010). In addition, there is evidence that a feeling of loneliness is
correlated with the occurrence of bulimia nervosa (Levine, 2012), highlighting the
psychological dynamics that are at play behind this disorder.
Causes of Bulimia Nervosa: from genetics to environment
The environmental and biological mechanisms that underlie bulimia nervosa have
been researched in some depth. The principle mechanisms that give rise to bulimia
nervosa may be classified into two groups: genetic variables at play and
environmental factors that impact the patient.
There is a considerable body of evidence
The Role Of Corruption In The Great Gatsby
The two classic parties in The Great Gatsby may differ physically, but are driven by
the same motive. The Great Gatsby took place in the 1920 s, when the American
Dream was at its peak. The main characters are Nick, Gatsby, and Daisy, who live in
a city where the American dream was big essentially another city the American
Dream corrupted. The American Dream transitioned from being all about hope, to a
dream filled with money, or that money was everything, which ended up corrupting
many people s lives. The Great Gatsbyclearly shows the corruption the American
Dream caused, especially with the two parties. While both parties differ in size and
guest list, they together reinforce Fitzgerald s theme that the American dream is a
dream driven... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Gatsby s party, there was a lot of moral corruption, which can be seen from what
a party guest says about Gatsby, during the party. Somebody once told me they
thought he killed a man once, (46) was a clear action of moral corruption. This is
an action of moral corruption since killing a man is moral corruption. In Tom s
party, moral corruption was huge and played a major role. Making a short deft
movement Tom Buchanan broke her nose with his open hand, (39) is a major
example of moral corruption since it is domestic abuse. Between these two
examples, the only similarity is that both examples involved hurting somebody,
whether it s murder or domestic abuse. The people are still physically different, but
based on the American dream make the same choices. There also was another
example of moral corruption at Gatsby s party, and is said by Nick, when he was
describing the party. Champagne was served in glasses bigger than fingerbowls,
(49) is also an example of moral corruption, as Champagne was served and
consumed in huge quantities, when it is supposed to be drank in small quantities,
as it is somewhat bad for you. Another example could be seen at Tom s party as
well, when a guest explains Myrtle s and George s situation. It s really his wife
keeping them apart. She s a Catholic and they don t believe in divorce, (35) is an
example of moral corruption because it is infidelity. While infidelity and extreme
alcohol consumption are two different things, they are still linked to moral
corruption as they both are abnormal things to do. Between the two parties, moral
corruption was shown differently, as in Gatsby s party there was murder and
excessive alcohol consumption, and in Tom s party there was domestic abuse and
infidelity. Due to the fact that both parties showed different types of moral corruption
with different people, and since they all believe and

with the formation of concen tration camps, but with the formation of these JewishA

designed from the top down to make life difficult if not impossible for all

the genocide begins when the Nazis first start rearrangi ng communities of Jews,

The quality and isolation of these ghettos varied wildly. Nazis always administered

18 Things I Learned In 18 Years Essay
18 things I learned in my 18 years 1. Everything changes. Nothing is permanent.
What you think is important now, will be boring the hell out of you this time next
year. 2. This emptiness inside of you is part of your existence. Sometimes it feels
like you re drowning, other times it s like everything is okay and you are happy.
But the emptiness is always here. With you. Accept it and it will be much easier to
live your life. 3. If you think it is bad, believe me, it can get worse. There re highs
and there re lows and it s okay. You need to fall to learn how to get up. 4. Do not
expect anything. It s one of the most important things. The less you expect the less
disappointed you feel. 5. That best friend you think is the most important... Show

Their judgement is not clouded. 9. Accept the fact that humans are all the same.
We are all sick. We are all depressed. We all have problems. We go through exactly
the same things, just at different times and different levels. 10. The monsters in
your head are just there. In your head. No one knows about them. And that is your
power. Just make sure to keep them on the leash. 11. If you want to do something,
do it. The only thing that stops you is your limited imagination. 12. Don t try too
hard. There will always be someone better than you. 13. Always carry your mask in
the back pocket. Even better, always wear it. Protect yourself. Whatever pain or
emotions you feel are better left hidden. Most people don t understand what you re
feeling or just pretend not to understand. 14. Listen to your parents. They have lived
longer than you, they know more. You should listen to their advices, but don t
forget that you are not your parents. You have the right to have your own opinion,
to do what you want, to be your own person. Use parents to learn from mistakes they
made and don t repeat them. 15. Find a way of expressing and being yourself. Doesn

The detail in the face and the shading really bring the painting to life. JosГ© TapirГі

The beauty he found in Tangier and Morocco is clearly seen in this painting and in

waterborne disease in the richest province of Canada which is the moderately
prosperous town of around 5,000 people. This disease resulted in killing around 7
people and also caused various serious illnesses in many other people. This
contamination was however based on the tracing of the source which has been
identified around 22 years back as being the major risk. The operators of the system
were oblivious regarding the danger and also based on the various regulatory
responsibilities regarding the drinking water safety. This issue has been overlooked

the engineers, managers and the working team could cause death of innocent
children as because of the contaminated water, there were majority of the children
who were absent from the Mother Theresa school as reported to be 25 children

Walkerton public schools as being absent because of the illness caused by the
contaminated pipe connection with the drinking water. The Walkerton physicians
have also been seen to be examining around 12 to 13 patients who were suffering on
the severe basis from diarrhea. There are also major concerns being observed from
the Bruce Grey Owen Sound Health Unit based in the negligence which has been
seen from the working units.

Bebop Jazz Influences
Bebop Jazz known as Jazz music today have shared its roots with the various tradition
of music such as the American, European and the African. The unique mesh of Bebop
jazz cultural influences has made it a true American style in music. The music
influence by the Bebop jazz has flowed through many aspects of the modern cultures
of people, and this is the cornerstone of the 20th century music. The first and the most
prominent jazzmusic was on the African heritage that was kept alive by the slaves in
South America. The music was mainly composed with an intention of comforting and
helping the Africans cope with the harsh labor conditions and separation from their
families. The paper will discuss the Bebopjazz music, their elements, and

In addition to this, some people would use saxophone and the trumpet.
The complex rhythms
The composers and the musicians of the bebop jazz improvised some rhythmic
patterns in the basic beat and around each section of the music.
Having some rapid series of the chords
The music has not been built around few chords; it used a rapid series of chords.
For instance, this is seen in New Orleans jazz and other big band swings of jazz
(Caines Heble, 2014). The series of the chords that were used altered from their
standard form to and some texture and complexity in the music.
Drastic change in instrument roles
The drummers in the Bebop jazz shifted their main timekeeping roles from the bass to
the snare and then cymbals. This made the music feel lighter and created and
effervescent aura. Most of them begun by playing some multiple and overlapping
music.

Sex Stereotypes
It is to no one s surprise, that sex has become a big influence on today s consumers.
From music and movies to advertisements and TV shows, people have been
increasingly exposed to sex, both outright and subliminal. Sex can be portrayed in its
most unmitigated aspect with the use of nudity, and sexual or romantic themes. In
addition, it can be portrayed through suggestiveness that bring attention to specific
notions of sex, such as the use of subliminal messages or sexual innuendos (Peterson
and Kerin, 1977). However, are these suggestions to sex being targeted to the right
audience and censored to our innocent children? The purpose of this paper is to help
determine whether sexual innuendos are present in children s movies from a variety of

industry growth has remained strong even in the face of a crippling recession and

according to the Idaho Department of Labor industry projections. Home Health
Care Services is a small, yet rapidly growing sector within the Health Care Industry.

and Residential Facilities 18 percent, and Home Health Care Services at 10

is the fastest growing segment in the industry. Between 2010 and 2015, average
employment in this segment has grown by 42 percentage points; an increase of

a less dominant Hospitals sub sector at 28 percent and a larger Nursing Facility sub
sector at 23 percent. Home Health care is slightly larger than the statewide share at
13 percent, yet this segment has added more jobs in the past five years than all other
segments within the industry. The
Similarities Between Wilfred Owen And Siegfried Sassoon
The poet Siegfried Sassoon saw that war was destructive and it should not happen
because it was a waste of human life, Sassoon described the horror of war
unsparingly, also, his poems were often based on actual incidents. Wilfred Owen
focused his poetry on the particulars of war and the men involved: dirt, muddle,
boredom etc, Owen often wrote about the horror of war and the dignity of men. He
deeply felt a sense of the appalling wastefulness of war, casualties and the human
spirit. The similarities between these two poets are they both tried to record realistic
horrors of the war; to have it stopped. They were both angry at the war s brutality,
they were also showed very compassionate studies of the circumstances of fighting
men.
The connection I made between these 2 texts is that they both experienced death,
these texts are Memorial Tablet by Siegfried Sassoon and Dulce et Decorum Est by
Wilfred Owen. In the poem Memorial tablet, Siegfried Sassoon wrote about a man
being forced to fight in the war, the man fought for two bleeding years , but this
man was shot My wound was slight, I was hobbling back; and then a shell Burst
slick upon the duckboards: so I fell Into the bottomless mud, and lost the light. . In
Dulce et Decorum Est Wilfred Owen watched a man choke to death by gas, Wilfred
Owen screamed Gas! Gas! Quick, boys! But he could hear someone screaming But
someone still was yelling out and stumbling And flound ring like a man in fire or
lime... Dim, through

reading fiction teaches individuals to better understand and have empathy for other
individuals. More specifically, she argues that deep reading , in contrast to digital
reading, allows for readers to fully engage and develop the capacity to empathize in
real life situations. She writes that the disappearance of this deep reading will imperil
the intellectual and emotional development of generations growing up online.. In
other words, she is suggesting that deep reading with a physical book plays an

world is full of technology and entertainment that distracts and prevents people from

External And Business Issues In The Viacom Company
The Viacom Company through the process of its stability has endured many issues
both from the external and internal environment. The issues may largely affect the
company s performance in both markets and also achieve a loyal customer/viewer
base as well as the ability to hire and retain employees in the television business that
is very competitive. The competition could be threatening to Viacomsince, through
constant innovation and creativity from the competitors, even the loyal viewers of its
networks could easily be swayed towards other new directions. Therefore, Viacom
would largely benefit if the issues are closely addressed with optimal carefulness and
efficient strategies. The strategies will keep the company on its toes. There are issues
that are currently affecting the company, and others are pending, meaning, they could
affect the media conglomerate both positively or negatively in the future. The
Viacom Company faces the following issues; continuous profit and sales decline
amidst executive changes, troubles with charter carriage talks and the end to internal
executive disputes by the appointment of new executives.
The media conglomerate in the current years is facing troubles in stabilizing its sales
and profits. After the release of company earnings, the shares had sunk to 40%. Much
of this could be contributed to executive upheaval, with the ousting of the company
CEO Philippe Dauman. The Viacom includes cable channels such as MTV, BET,

Diana George Changing The Face Of Poverty Analysis
Words provoke preconceived ideas and images in the mind, when it comes to a
situation like poverty these preconceived notions can have undesirable and
unintended consequences. In her article titled Changing the Face of Poverty;
Nonprofits and the Problem of Representation Diana George addresses the semantics
and imagery of the word poverty, while also identifying an issue of the perception of
what someone in poverty truly looks like.(676) Prof. George is arguing that
organizations like Habitat for Humanity, which are created to help people in poverty
actually perpetuate the wrong image of what someone in poverty actually looks
like.(678) Most organizations created to help those in need especially those in the US

But it is also a challenge for the people actually in need to understand they are
living in poverty and need help.(682) When it comes to poverty people tend to have
imagery in their mind that comes from all around the world of different people
living in deplorable conditions.(683) The problem is poverty like many things is
relative. To compare someone in need in the United States on a guideline or scale
based on people in need from impoverished countries around the world is not
exactly fair.(681) The fact that the United States is one of the wealthiest countries
in the world also means it s one of the most expensive places to live. Taking this
into consideration it is unreasonable to compare the poor and needy in the United
States to the poor and needy in countries where their economic systems are much
farther behind than that of the United States.(681) The issue is that just because
you re not in tattered close or homeless does not mean that you are not living in
poverty in the United States.(683) What stereotyping like this does is gives a very
restricted view of what an individual in poverty looks like, while also causing the
help that might be provided to individuals in need to be
Perpetua s Defiance Of The Young Christian Martyr
Throughout the life of the young Christian martyr, Vibia Perpetua, she was placed
under strict expectations based on her gender by the Roman society. Perpetua defied
the expectations placed upon her since birth by converting to Christianity, yet she
still showed ambivalence towards her role as a woman in the new community. This
essay will analyze Perpetua s defiance of the gender expectations of both the Roman
community and Christian church and the way Perpetua defined her own role as a
womanin conflicting societies. In Perpetua s time, the Roman culture had strict
views on gender and the role of a woman in society. Early Roman society families
had a patriarchal structure meaning the father was the head of the family. The
strongest tie within the family was that between a father and a daughter.
Daughters were expected to [forge] political and social ties for fathers (Salisbury
6). A Roman daughter was favored the most; they received the best education
overseen by their fathers. The purpose of a strong education was to pass on to their
sons the values of Rome as well as help her to be a good mother in the future

Animal house, Sydney White, and The Revenge of the Nerds. These are movies
about Fraternities and Sororities that everyday people associate with Greek life;
alcohol, drugs, hazing,Togo parties, manipulation, and debauchery in forms of the
imagination. Although these things do happen on many levels, as the war cry of
the title Admit Nothing, Deny Everything , there are many positives. I have
personally been positively influenced by a sorority that has permanently changed
my life forever. My freshman year of college, I went through recruitment and was
chosen to be a pledge sister for Delta Zeta Sorority. I was immediately surrounded
by older DZ sisters who became my friends and mentors. I was also made to jump

European Integration And The European Union
Enlargement
This literature review provides evidence of the research conducted in order to
increase the knowledge regarding the topic in question: the EU enlargement. The
paper analyses, first of all, the why and how of the European Union enlargement.
Starting from outlining the main reasons of the European integration and its benefits,
as well as the perspectives of the controversial issues that the European integration
presents. In particular, the difficulties of agreeing which country should join the
monetary union and the numerous problems that the enlargement brings to the other
European states, taking into account the major changes that the monetary union
bring. The literature review closes with the question: how big the European
integration should be, as well as the numerous critical appraisals and the solutions that
different authors propose. In order to demonstrate and give an overview of the
research made regarding of the EU enlargement.
In carrying out the review books, journals and websites were consulted. The sources

The European Union is a regional integration, born to aggregate the countries
survived from the Second World War and to promote productivity and economic
growth. Moreover, to contribute to defeat the social and financial inequalities
between the European countries. It is important to make a distinction about the
reasons that leaded the European Union to enlarge. David Long (2000) recognises
that the EU has expanded numerous times
The Seven Deadly Sins Of Othello
The Seven Deadly Sins of Othello Throughout church history, the Seven Deadly
Sins, or Seven Mortal Sins as they are also known, have been seen as those that
threaten everlasting life. In early times, a list was help for the people who could not
read (Douglas). One cannot help but to see these sins throughout the drama of
Othello. Christians in the past used the seven deadly sinsto instruct on how to live a
holy life and to show how easily we are inclined to a sin nature. Shakespeare
incorporates these sins throughout the drama of Othello. The reader follows the
characters through the sins of wrath, pride, envy, lust, sloth, greed and gluttony to
the bitter end of this tragic love story. Shakespeare shows how easily it is to open
the door to the devil and how many lives it affects. William Shakespeare wrote
Othello in 1603. It is a tragic, love story full of love, honour, and betrayal. Othello
is the protagonist in this drama. He is a skilled fighter and he is not from Venice.
He falls in love with Desdemona, a beautiful and innocent woman from Venice. Her
father disowns her for the marriage because he is racist toward Othello. Iago is the
antagonist in the drama. The drama starts with him and shows that he is an
instigator. He manipulates his way in to the lives of all of the characters and gains
their trust. Iago is responsible for most of the sins. He takes on the role of Satan in
the ways that he entices the characters into sinning, which leads to their own

What Is The Difference Between Arx And Engel s Theory
Of...
arx and Engels believed that the system at work of labor in society created a
general alienation of people from consciousness of their species being ;
consciousness of being human. Within this theory of human alienation, Marx and
Engels provide three components from which people are generally estranged from:
the objects of labor, from nature, and from the labor itself. Plato, in contrast,
believed that human alienation lived on the basis of specialization, efficiency, and
lack of education. That people, in Socrates Kallipolis, were generally alienated from
the Form of the Truth and Ideas. He derails from Marx and Engels in the sense that
Plato never believed in an inevitable Communist Revolution, but in a possible
political revolution, needed in order to maintain moderation and avoid the clash of
ideas in society. Where Marx and Engels believe in communismfor the good of
economy, Socrates believed in communism for the good of the government and his
Republic.
Marx and Engels believed that the economy during the Industrial Revolution created a
mechanical system in which people came to be alienated from the reality of being a
human being. They argue that because society is putting in all of its effort to
compete with each other so that production becomes a competition, people lose their
sense of living, the sense of themselve, their species being. In the Communist
Manifesto, they argue, The bourgeoisie cannot exist without constantly
revolutionising the instruments of

Kingdom Of Heaven
Kingdom of Heaven is a historical movie based on the second crusade. Although
the movie does have many things that are accurate in this movie. Hollywood has
made some problems with this movie. So why did Hollywood change things? For a
better movie? Maybe they just didn t find all the facts. Maybe Hollywood just
didn t get their facts straight. King Baldwin IV was a real person and he did have
leprosy. He did have a sister who gained the throne in later years as well. The
problem is that Hollywood forgot to mention his five year old nephew having the
throne for a short time before his sister. The article Latin king of Jerusalem Baldwin
IV by Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia, 6th Edition, Q2 2016 says he appointed
Guy of Lusignan as his regent, but in the same year he withdrew the commission and

knight who knew his father and was from Jerusalem. Balian did know his dad in
fact his father was not named Godfrey it was Balian of D ibelin. Also he never left
Jerusalem with Sibylla. In fact, Helena Schrader says, In 1188 Saladin released
Guy de Lusignan, taken captive at Hattin. He went first to Antioch to be reunited
with his wife, Queen Sibylla. Why did Hollywood change this? Probably to appeal
to the heart tearing side of the story. Why the name change of Balian to Godfrey?
The fact is it would be confusing if you had two people in the movie with the same
name. Kingdom of Heaven is a very well put together movie with some
nonfictional as well as fictional information. The idea of this is to show you that
you should not believe everything you see. So next time you see a movie that is
supposed to be historically correct. Do some digging and you might find gold.

Start Beekeeping Successful
How to Start Beekeeping Successfully
By Amanda Gamdana
Feb 7, 2011
To start beekeeping, you need honey bees! Instead of purchasing honey bees, some
beekeepers prefer to find honeybee swarms and catch them into their hives. If you
ve no experience in catching bees, it s better not to do it alone. Seek help of an
experienced beekeeper, because if you irritate bees, it may have serious
consequences for you and people around you while catching the wild honey bees.
Swarms frequently crowd together on tree branches or other reachable places, like
spaces between buildings. In most instances, homeowners want these bees removed.
In some locations, beekeepers may be in a position to obtain wild bees for their
hives by listing their names on a swarm

Spies During Wwill
There were many uses of technology specialized for spies during WWll. Great
tactics and innovation were developed to create such equipment that would later on
benefit them. These pieces of equipment ranged from rodent bombs bombs
embedded in rat carcasses which would be placed near boiler rooms in the
opponent s camp; to carrying counterfeit documents such as passports; a stealthy
and cunning weapon like the sleeve gun; and a knife concealed in a fountain pen.
Other devices included the Fog Signal, the Compass fly button, lethal pills used for
suicide in case caught. Devices of communication were carrier pigeons, the Wireless

The pigeon stems from the Rock Pigeon, which is from the bird family Columbidae.
The usage of carrier pigeons as ways of delivering a message dates back to
centuries ago. During WWll, pigeons were dependent on to deliver discreet
messages from and to an area. More than 250,000 carrier pigeons were used in
World War II (WWII Carrier Pigeon Finally Delivers Secret Message). For usage, a
pigeon would be equipped with a small capsule fastened to one leg (or to its back if
it was larger) and often released from an aircraft. These pigeons were trained to
navigate where to go and how to come back. According to America in WWII, Over
short distances, these birds could approach 60 miles per hour, though 35 to 40
miles was a more typical average cruising speed. Flying is strenuous, and on a long
flight, a bird could lose 2 or 3 ounces about a fifth of its 13 to 15 ounces of body
weight. For this reason, younger birds, one to four years old, were used (Razes).
Pigeons were very beneficiary to WWll and were helpful in carrying messages
across the country when it seemed impossible to carry by word of mouth or very far
traveling distance. Along with the advantages came the disadvantages. The owners
faced difficulties such as importing, hiding, feeding, and exercising them. Also, there
was a limitation to distance and direction which could be flown (Rigden
Essay on Buddhist view on Abortion
It is quite clear from a variety of sources that abortion has been severely disapproved
of in the Buddhist tradition. It is also equally clear that abortion has been tolerated in
Buddhist Japan and accommodated under exceptional circumstances by some modern
Buddhists in the U.S. The situation is similar to that of Roman Catholicism, where
abortion, though disapproved of in the strongest terms by Church authorities, is still
practiced by a large number of devoted Catholics and defended by at least a few.
As a Buddhist, I would most likely still be for abortion. Buddhism itself speaks with
more than one moral voice on this issue against abortion. The core belief in
Buddhism is against abortion, but there are commonly people of this religion ... Show

If genes were entirely what made up a person, than abortion would not be acceptable,
but that is not the case. In very early stages of a pregnancy, Buddhists don t think of
the fetus as a person yet.
I am a Japanese Buddhist. Where I m from, Buddhism is a little bit different. A lot
of Buddhists consider abortion a moral crime, but in Buddhist metaphysics, the life
force comes from an existence which is fluid like water and returns to that
existence. The fetus is understood to be in a stage of becoming a discrete thing
passing out of the ancient waters. Life that appears in our world or in a woman s
uterus is the formation of a being that was before in the liquid like state of another
reality. Children are liquid and only gradually solidify into humans, this process not
being realized until after birth. Accordingly, the newborn gradually make the
transition from the world of the gods and Buddhas into that of human beings. Most
Japanese Buddhists (like myself) believe that you can be cursed by your baby after
the abortion procedure. Because of this, they perform a Mizuko Kuyo after an
abortion. Mizuko means water child, kuyo means memorial service conducted in
most cases by Buddhist priests.Mizuko Kuyos are ritual ceremonies of apology and
remembrance for aborted fetuses, or the stillborn and miscarried.
Buddhists are strong believers in Karma, the law of cause and effect. They are often

Color Interpretations in The Great Gatsby Essay
Discovering hidden messages in a novel compares to solving a puzzle or finding
hidden treasure. Underlying symbols appear in many works of literature and lead
the reader forward to discover the deeper substance of a character. In The Great
Gatsby, Francis Scott Fitzgerald uses subtle tones and clues to tell readers more about
a character. These signs aid the reader in revealing the meaning of certain situations
and clearing up any confusion. Colors contribute much to explain the unconscious
thoughts of characters and explain the characters essences. The color green often
shows up in The Great Gatsby, mostly as the color of Daisy Buchanan s dock light.
From the location of Jay Gatsbys house, this light is visible. Readers probably know...

The Sea Of Leptis Magna
AS THE HIPPAGOGUS sailed into the harbor of Leptis Magna, Rubio got a good
glimpse of the city and its people. It was a thriving Roman metropolis settled on the
coastline of North Africa, and its market was one of the most flourishing; ships
sailing the Mediterranean brought forth valuable goods, slaves and exotic animals.
Immense quantities of olive oil also arrived in the country, as well as high quality
garum, and salted fish were brought in from the coast. This grand port, with its superb
monumental architecture, was fast becoming the busiest in the Roman Empire. The

Essay on Mozart and Die Zauberflöte
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Austrian wunderkind, was an accomplished and
magnificently gifted musician. He is attributed with the composition of 22 operas
in his 35 year life, but his most successful theatre work was his last. Die
Zauberflöte, completed in 1791, was written specifically for the Theater auf der
Wieden in Vienna. The theatre housed a troupe of actors led by Emmanuel
Schikaneder, a versatile actor and writer who crafted the libretto of Zauberflöte and
portrayed Papageno at its premiere. Zauberflöte was written in the singspiel
operatic style; the libretto is in the vernacular German language, spoken dialogue is
interspersed with recitative and aria, and there is a folk like strophic style in the
music. Schikaneder had... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rest of the orchestra enters; the high woodwinds take the fugue theme while the
lower instruments emphasize each downbeat with familiar chordal movement. The
fugue enters the development section and twists through a variety of major and
minor tonalities. Mozart delays the recapitulation by inserting three Adagio major
chords repeated three times. Now the magic number is made blatantly apparent.
The second Allegro opens, in Bb this time, and the anticipation build as Mozart
introduces dramatic dynamic contrast and contrapuntal texture. The overture ends
in its original key, with three pronounced Eb major chords accentuating the
triumphant conclusion. The curtain rises on a rocky terrain with a frightened
Prince Tamino crying for help ( Zu Hilfe!). A terrible serpent is pursuing him, and
the key of c minor emphasizes his fear. The orchestra lays the scene with
descending scales and sudden dynamic changes until the Prince succumbs to his
fright and passes out. Three handmaidens of the Queen of the Night slay the
serpent and resurrect the key of Eb ( Triumph! ). As they inspect the fallen Tamino,
each maiden develops a love for him and a brief Allegretto in 6/8 time ensues.
Mozart shifts to G major for this section, possibly because this key rests a third
above Eb major. This forms a quasi tonal triangle, which began in c minor, ascended
a third to Eb major, and rose a third time to G major.
Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead By Tom Stoppard
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead is a very captivating book! It is a
tragicomedy written by Tom Stoppard. This book was written in 1964, also known
to be during the devastating Vietnam War. The play was published in 1967, and it
played on Broadway in 1968. It won the Tony for best play. It is based off of the very
famous book Hamletwhich was written by the very famous William Shakespeare. It is
the point of view of two characters from Hamlet: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.

Unlike them, Hamlet does not seem confused by the world. He lights the scene, then
plunges it into darkness. His ability to control what viewers see indicates his power.
He changes and affects people s lives in ways that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern
cannot. For example, he kills Polonius, then disposes of the body. When Hamlet
speaks, he frequently confuses other characters with riddles. Hamlet reads the letter
ordering his execution in England. But he reads it silently, masking whatever emotion
he might be feeling about his friends betrayal. Regardless of whether he is actually
insane, Hamlet s rational behavior stands in contrast to the slow, puzzled demeanor
displayed by Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern stand in
for humanity as a whole. Unlike real people, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern lack
imaginative power and memory. For instance, Rosencrantz cannot imagine England.
He tells Guildenstern that he cannot picture himself leaving the ship or speaking to
the king. Rosencrantz cannot imagine the future. But neither he nor Guildenstern
remembers who has the letter for the English king. They cannot learn from their
mistakes, nor can they conceive of acting in any way other than what they have done
before. Each moment exists separately from the one that came before or the one that
is to come, so that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are constantly being surprised by
their situations.

Examples of this would be not having access to a vehicle or public transportation if
the nearest hospital is located farther away from the home, no cellular device to

in long lines to receive services that are offered to them. An additional force that
could have an effect on the health care system of the nation would be the Obama
care. This is a Universal health care reform that would benefit everyone across the
nation, including those with pre existing conditions and those that have difficulty
obtaining the proper medical attention that they need. I believe that with this type
of health care it could save many more lives and lessen the financial worries of
families who have love ones that are in need of a special procedure who may have

2012 the Supreme Court decided in favor of the universal healthcare statute that was
passed under the Obama administration and upheld the individual mandate. But
surprisingly no one of the conservatives decried the decision as contributing to the
downfall of society, evidence that President Obama is a socialist, and generally anti
American. But conservatives
The Characteristics Of Anzac Soldiers In The First World
War
On 25 April 1915, during the First World War, the Australian and New Zealand
Army Corps (ANZAC) landed on the Gallipoli peninsula as part of the 70,000 strong
Anglo French operation against Turkey to capture the Dardanelles. Over one million
men were involved in the ill fated Gallipoli campaign which lasted eight and a half
months. Of the 44,070 soldiers who were killed during the campaign, 8,000 were
Australian. It was the first time that Australians went into combat as Australians,
giving Australiaa sense of identity and a place in the world.
World War 1 war correspondent and historian Charles Edwin Woodrow Bean believed
that Anzac Day 1915 saw the birth of the Australian national consciousness
maintaining that The big thing in the war...was the discovery of the character of
Australian men. It was a character which rushed the hills at Gallipoli and held on
there during the long afternoon and night, when everything seemed to have gone
wrong and there was only the barest hope at the end of success . Gallipoli also saw
the birth of the Anzac Legend or Anzac Spirit . A term used to illustrate the
characteristics of ANZAC soldiers which encompassed bravery, endurance, ingenuity,
comradeship and what Australians call mateship . The term developed as a central
part of Australia s collective memory and national identity growing popular largely
due to Bean s works.
ANZAC Day was first commemorated in London in 1916, by Australian and New
Zealand soldiers to commemorate
The Causes And Impacts Of British Imperialism In China
British Imperialism in China didn t quite work out so well. It was driven by the
desire to gain higher wealth and to also have complete control made possible by
spheres of influence which is a concept of control from an outside power. From that
point, the British had control over trade all throughout Asia. During both the 18th
and 19th century, the British Imperialism in Chinawas very economic. Western
countries, mostly Great Britain, exported opium grown in India and sold it to China.
The British used the profits from the sale of opium to purchase such Chinese luxury
goods as porcelain, silk, and tea, which were in great demand in the West.
(britannica.com/topic/opium trade) Opium was first introduced to China by Turkish
and Arab traders in the late 6th or early 7th century. Taken orally to relieve tension
and pain, the drug was used in limited quantities until the 17th century. At that point,
the practice of smoking tobacco spread from North America to China, and opium
smoking soon became popular throughout the country. Opium addiction increased,
and opium importations grew rapidly during the first century of the Qing dynasty
(1644 1911/12). By 1729 it had become such a problem that the Yongzheng emperor
ruled 1722 35 prohibited the sale and smoking of opium. That failed to hamper the
trade, and in 1796 the Jiaqing emperor outlawed opium importation and cultivation. In
spite of such decrees, however, the opium trade continued to
My Life In High School Football
Friday nights during the fall season are what every high school football player
looks forward to. After a long week of being yelled at, running hills, and practicing,
all any high school football player wants to do is run out of the tunnel with the
crowd screaming your name and gear up for a football game. However, I was not a
Varsity player during the 2017 17 season. I played only Junior Varsity which was
nowhere near the same as Varsity football. I played on Monday nights and only
about thirty people would take the time to show up to a Junior Varsity game.
Although, one Friday night would change my football career and change my life. I
was only a sophomore at the time, so I was still new to high school football and I
wasn t the greatest athlete either. I am on my second year of highschool football,
and now is when football got very intense for me because the coaches were getting
us ready for Varsity football. Early in the season our starting center on the team got
injured with a very severe concussion that kept him out the whole season. I was
playing Junior Varsity as a left tackle so I never thought I would have to play
center. However a few weeks and games went by and one day our backup center
got hurt in practice. The next day my coach called me into his office and said, you
are the backup center now so i m going to need you to be ready for the game this
week if we need you. My heart sunk into my chest because I was so nervous and
scared at the thought of playing

Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT)
Introduction
The practice of using animals as therapy tools is becoming ever more popular and
common place in the mental health field. Animal assisted therapy (AAT) was
formally defined by the Delta Society as a goal directed intervention in which an
animal that meets specific criteria is an integral part of the treatment process (Kruger,
Trachtenberg, Serpell, 2004). The hope is that the specially trained animal will help
facilitate conversation, and subsequently healing, between the therapist and the client.
AAT is focused on improving the humans physical, mental, emotional, and social
functioning. Animal assisted therapy is not to be confused with service animals:
service animals fall under the category of animal assisted activities ... Show more

Horses have the physical ability to support a large amount of weight, and it has
been increasingly found that they have the same ability to do this with our
emotions as well. Therapy where a horse is involved is called equine assisted
therapy (EAT). EAT came to light in the 1980 s and it is defined as experiential
psychotherapy that includes equine handling, grooming, lunging, and riding
(Willerson). The practice of EAT has been found to be effective in working with
children, adults, couples, individuals, families and have been used to help with the
treatment and healing of individuals who have suffered from trauma, addiction, and
depression. The goal of EAT is not to train someone to ride a horse, rather, the goal is
to train them to learn to control, interact, and connect with their internal and external

Implementing the Ramsar Convention in Developing Countries: The Role of Local
Community Support and Involvement
Over the last two decades, a consensus has gradually emerged that long term
conservation depends on understanding and support from those closely connected to
the environment and its resources (Shine, Klemm, 1999.) Several international
environmental conventions have reflected this consensus by establishing a legal
basis to involve local communities, especially those in developing countries, in their
implementation. Recent changes in the focus of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands
are consistent with this global trend towards emphasizing the importance of
community support and involvement. Adopted in Ramsar, Iran on... Show more

By contrasting and comparing case studies in developing countries with varying
degrees of wetland conservation success, it is clear that local community involvement
and support of conservation is critical to success. Acknowledging this, those sites
with unsuccessful wetland conservation have begun to plan initiatives to promote
community participation and support.
This study focuses solely on wetland conservation in developing countries, where
lifestyles and lack of government capacity make community support and involvement
in wetland conservation policies and practices particularly important. People in the
developing world are more closely connected to the environment than those in
developed countries. Since they rely more directly on the extraction of natural
resources and use of natural services for their sustenance and economy, their lifestyles
have a more direct impact on the immediate ecosystem. Given that all countries, but
especially developing countries...need to enhance their internal capacity to manage
their environmental protection and sustainable development, a lack of national and
state government capacity results in a greater need for the support and involvement
of local communities in wetland conservation (Susskind, et al. 2002). Since
developing country governments may not have the finances, institutions, or
knowledge to strictly enforce their wetland conservation policies, community policy
support is

Computer Literacy Essay

  • 1. Computer Literacy Essay Writing an essay on the topic of computer literacy can present both challenges and opportunities for expression. The difficulty lies in striking a balance between technical details and accessibility for a broader audience. It requires a thorough understanding of the subject matter, as well as the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner. One of the challenges is the ever-evolving nature of technology. • 2. Matsushita And Phillips Case Analysis Matsushita and Phillips Phillips and Matsushita are both electronics companies that started relatively around the same time, faced problems around the same time and went through failures and successes that they themselves created. Phillips Introduction Phillips started out in Holland and became very successful, very quickly, becoming the third largest light bulb producer in Europe. Phillips continued to focus on light bulbs as others in the industry began to branch out. By 1919, however, Phillips entered into an agreement with General Electric and began to become a less centralized company and into a more decentralized sales organization. Organizational Development The National Organizations (NOs) during the war proved to be the most successful, due to their self sufficiency and allowance to adapt to current, country specific market conditions. Eventually, responsiveness extended beyond adaptive marketing. They began to take from one market and implement into another. While Phillips in Canada created the company s first color TV, Phillips in the UK created the first TVs with teletext. While the formal corporate structure existed, NOs were the ones in charge. Reorganization Phillips had to abandon their attempts at VHS when the North American Phillips outsourced their VHS project to Matsushita. In 1971, with a new CEO became a new structure. According to Smith and Stulz (1985), firms that face higher expected costs of financial distress have larger incentives to use derivatives because derivatives can reduce the present value of bankruptcy and the probability of financial distress. Firms can use derivatives to reduce the variance of a firm s cash flow or earnings which enable firm to have sufficient cash flow to fulfill its fixed payment obligations and reduce the probability of financial distress (Aretz and Bartram, 2010; Supanvanij and Strauss, 2010). Similarly to previous studies, I have used leverage as a proxy for financial distress (e.g., Tufano, 1996; Rogers, 2002; Aretz and Bartram, 2010). Leverage is measured with the ratio of total debt to book value of assets (e.g., Coles et al; 2006). I include diversification as a control variable for firm focus. Earlier empirical studies (e.g., Tufano, 1996; GГ©czy et al., 2007) suggest a negative relationship between the degree of diversification and derivatives use. Firms can choose to reduce firm risk through changing the level of diversification (Coles et al., 2006; Bartram et al., 2011). For all the banks in the sample, I collect information on the degree of diversification which is measured by the number of geographical segments of the firm at the end of each year (GГ©czy et al., 1997; Fung et al., 2012). Social class is a set of concepts in the social sciences and political theory centered on models of social stratification in which people are grouped into a set of hierarchical social categories(Grant, J. Essay Bulimia Nervosa BULIMIA NERVOSA 307.51 (F50.2) Introduction Individuals diagnosed with bulimia nervosa undertake frequent binge eating, followed by expelling the food, typically by inducing vomiting, but also through exercising and the use of laxative agents, diuretics, and enemas (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). The binge eating occurrences are often prompted by a negative perception of one s body image, temporarily alleviated by the binge eating episode. Since the individual with bulimia nervosa is overanxious about body weight, purging of the food is viewed as a necessity. This is in contrast to binge eating disorder, which does not involve the purging of food after an excess of food consumption (Bulik et al., 2012). Furthermore, although ... Although these are the symptoms that must be present in order for a diagnosis of bulimia nervosa to be made, there are often other symptoms that accompany bulimia nervosa. Signs of psychosis have been found in patients with eating disorders like bulimia nervosa (Miotto et al., 2010). Moreover, those with bulimia nervosa frequently have the feeling that there is something flawed with their mind, and that others are at fault for their problems (Miotto et al., 2010). What Is The Difference Between Arx And Engel s Theory Of... arx and Engels believed that the system at work of labor in society created a general alienation of people from consciousness of their species being ; consciousness of being human. Within this theory of human alienation, Marx and Engels provide three components from which people are generally estranged from: the objects of labor, from nature, and from the labor itself. Plato, in contrast, believed that human alienation lived on the basis of specialization, efficiency, and lack of education. That people, in Socrates Kallipolis, were generally alienated from the Form of the Truth and Ideas. He derails from Marx and Engels in the sense that Plato never believed in an inevitable Communist Revolution, but in a possible political revolution, needed in order to maintain moderation and avoid the clash of ideas in society. Where Marx and Engels believe in communismfor the good of economy, Socrates believed in communism for the good of the government and his Republic. Marx and Engels believed that the economy during the Industrial Revolution created a mechanical system in which people came to be alienated from the reality of being a human being. They argue that because society is putting in all of its effort to compete with each other so that production becomes a competition, people lose their sense of living, the sense of themselve, their species being. A lot of Buddhists consider abortion a moral crime, but in Buddhist metaphysics, the life force comes from an existence which is fluid like water and returns to that existence. The fetus is understood to be in a stage of becoming a discrete thing passing out of the ancient waters. Life that appears in our world or in a woman s uterus is the formation of a being that was before in the liquid like state of another reality. Children are liquid and only gradually solidify into humans, this process not being realized until after birth. Accordingly, the newborn gradually make the transition from the world of the gods and Buddhas into that of human beings. Now the magic number is made blatantly apparent. The second Allegro opens, in Bb this time, and the anticipation build as Mozart introduces dramatic dynamic contrast and contrapuntal texture. The overture ends in its original key, with three pronounced Eb major chords accentuating the triumphant conclusion. The curtain rises on a rocky terrain with a frightened Prince Tamino crying for help ( Zu Hilfe!). A terrible serpent is pursuing him, and the key of c minor emphasizes his fear. The orchestra lays the scene with descending scales and sudden dynamic changes until the Prince succumbs to his fright and passes out. It was a character which rushed the hills at Gallipoli and held on there during the long afternoon and night, when everything seemed to have gone wrong and there was only the barest hope at the end of success . Gallipoli also saw the birth of the Anzac Legend or Anzac Spirit . A term used to illustrate the characteristics of ANZAC soldiers which encompassed bravery, endurance, ingenuity, comradeship and what Australians call mateship . • 42. The Causes And Impacts Of British Imperialism In China British Imperialism in China didn t quite work out so well. It was driven by the desire to gain higher wealth and to also have complete control made possible by spheres of influence which is a concept of control from an outside power. From that point, the British had control over trade all throughout Asia. During both the 18th and 19th century, the British Imperialism in Chinawas very economic. Western countries, mostly Great Britain, exported opium grown in India and sold it to China. The British used the profits from the sale of opium to purchase such Chinese luxury goods as porcelain, silk, and tea, which were in great demand in the West. (britannica.com/topic/opium trade) Opium was first introduced to China by Turkish and Arab traders in the late 6th or early 7th century. Taken orally to relieve tension and pain, the drug was used in limited quantities until the 17th century. At that point, the practice of smoking tobacco spread from North America to China, and opium smoking soon became popular throughout the country. Opium addiction increased, and opium importations grew rapidly during the first century of the Qing dynasty (1644 1911/12). By 1729 it had become such a problem that the Yongzheng emperor ruled 1722 35 prohibited the sale and smoking of opium. After a long week of being yelled at, running hills, and practicing, all any high school football player wants to do is run out of the tunnel with the crowd screaming your name and gear up for a football game. However, I was not a Varsity player during the 2017 17 season. I played only Junior Varsity which was nowhere near the same as Varsity football. I played on Monday nights and only about thirty people would take the time to show up to a Junior Varsity game. Although, one Friday night would change my football career and change my life. I was only a sophomore at the time, so I was still new to high school football and I wasn t the greatest athlete either. I am on my second year of highschool football, and now is when football got very intense for me because the coaches were getting us ready for Varsity football. Early in the season our starting center on the team got injured with a very severe concussion that kept him out the whole season. I was playing Junior Varsity as a left tackle so I never thought I would have to play center. However a few weeks and games went by and one day our backup center got hurt in practice. The next day my coach called me into his office and said, you are the backup center now so i m going to need you to be ready for the game this week if we need you. My heart sunk into my chest because I was so nervous and scared at the thought of playing

Horses have the physical ability to support a large amount of weight, and it has been increasingly found that they have the same ability to do this with our emotions as well. Therapy where a horse is involved is called equine assisted therapy (EAT). Implementing the Ramsar Convention in Developing Countries: The Role of Local Community Support and Involvement Over the last two decades, a consensus has gradually emerged that long term conservation depends on understanding and support from those closely connected to the environment and its resources (Shine, Klemm, 1999.) Several international environmental conventions have reflected this consensus by establishing a legal basis to involve local communities, especially those in developing countries, in their implementation. Recent changes in the focus of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands are consistent with this global trend towards emphasizing the importance of community support and involvement. Adopted in Ramsar, Iran on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By contrasting and comparing case studies in developing countries with varying degrees of wetland conservation success, it is clear that local community involvement and support of conservation is critical to success. Acknowledging this, those sites with unsuccessful wetland conservation have begun to plan initiatives to promote community participation and support. This study focuses solely on wetland conservation in developing countries, where lifestyles and lack of government capacity make community support and involvement in wetland conservation policies and practices particularly important. People in the developing world are more closely connected to the environment than those in developed countries. Since they rely more directly on the extraction of natural resources and use of natural services for their sustenance and economy, their lifestyles have a more direct impact on the immediate ecosystem. Given that all countries, but especially developing countries...need to enhance their internal capacity to manage their environmental protection and sustainable development, a lack of national and state government capacity results in a greater need for the support and involvement of local communities in wetland conservation (Susskind, et al. 2002). Since developing country governments may not have the finances, institutions, or knowledge to strictly enforce their wetland conservation policies, community policy support is
