Associate-Degree in Nursing vs. Baccalaureate-Degree in...
Associate degree Nurses vs. Baccalaureate degree Nurses: An associate degree in nursing is obtained
after a two year period in junior or community college and is provided online by some schools. On the
contrary, a baccalaureate degree in this field is earned after a four year academic period in a university
or traditional college. There are several distinctions between the two degrees as baccalaureate degree
has emerged as an important requirement for professional practice in nursing. One of the major
differences is type as an associate nursing degree is an academic achievement in Applied Science
while a baccalaureate nursing degree is labeled as a bachelor s of science in nursing (BSN). However,
the two degrees prepare students for the National Council Licensure Exam, which is a prerequisite for
practicing as a registered nurse. After licensing, graduates of these degrees can work as new nurses in
various facilities like clinics, hospitals, long term care, and other health facilities at the entry level
position. Features and Benefits of the Degrees: In addition to the differences in the functions of these
degrees, the associate degree and baccalaureate degree in nursing also vary in their features and
benefits. Generally, an associate nursing degree focuses more on technical training as students in these
programs are prepared for daily activities in the nursing profession and practice. On the contrary, a
baccalaureate nursing degree basically entails general education

Morning In The Burned House, By Gabrielle Roy
theme of grief and its overall gloomy color scheme represent the mournful tone of the poem.
Furthermore, the poem discusses the solitude of the speaker in the house and the lack of any additional
human presence and the absence of vivacity in nature; this painting illustrates this notion through trees
devoid of their leaves, the absence of any animal or human and the lack of sunlight as a result of the
dull wintry setting. Morning in the Burned House captures the reader s attention through eloquent
descriptions despite its bleak content. My Street embodies this trait of the poem perfectly; it displays
an isolated and gloomy environment, yet, it illustrates the landscape with captivating colors and
sensibly placed brushstrokes. My Street is also comparable to The Tin Flute by Gabrielle Roy. It
depicts a considerably large house; however, the dragging brushstrokes and the dull crème colors seem

analogous to the isolated housing situation of the Lacasse family. The novel highlights the house as a
place where all members of the Lacasse family gather, yet, none of their exchanges appear familial or
welcoming; the house is a place of detached interactions. This painting emulates the detached
interactions through its housing design, which includes places where people often communicate, such
as the patio (located on the left side), with the absence of people themselves. Additionally, the painting

Homegoing Monologue
Home is a four letter word reserved for a special place in our hearts for the memories that are invoked
as you look back through time. These warm memories when desperately lonely is where the term
home sick drieves from. Although, not all homes bring warm, fuzzy feelings. The book Homegoing
clearly drives this point across. I will be discussing the home life of Kojo and H who belong to Esi s
bloodline. First, you must understand how Kojo and H came into this world. Homegoing, revolves
around two women, Esi and Effia, half sisters who never shared a home, nor even knew the other
existed. You are not your mother s first daughter. There was one before you. And in my village we
have a saying about separated sisters. They are like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Character Response To Fated Ophelia In Shakespeare s Hamlet
Dear Fated Ophelia
In Shakespeare s Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, the state of Denmark became enrobed in an elusive veil
of unrest after the late king s mysterious death and the hasty remarriage of Queen Gertrude to the king
s brother Claudius. In the midst of the dramatic happenings, the king s son Hamlet is left to navigate
his way through the relational dynamic between Claudius, Gertrude, and Ophelia. The young woman
by the name of Ophelia, was the daughter of the late king s adviser and found herself to be caught in
the middle of the surrounding world of deceit and avengement. As Ophelia was molded into the
tumultuous game cultivated by those that were seemingly trying to protect her, she in turn was one
that received the most accumulated hurt.
To dig deeper into the heart of the play, it is beneficial to expound upon a specific dynamic character
and develop analysis through their eyes and surrounding environment. Ophelia is a prime character to
utilize because she was intermingled in dealings with all other major characters and contributed a
unique disposition to every scene in which she was featured. Ophelia strived to embody obedience and
equanimity in all that she did and in turn experienced many moments that fully tested her nature. To
specify, Ophelia was loyal to maintain obedience to her father and brother, whilst grappling to contain
her composure when faced with various relationship struggles between her and Hamlet. Ophelia s
devout submission and obedience to

How Carbon s Electron Configuration Determines The Kinds...
Viola Tuliao
PD. 7 8
Organic Chemistry Explain how carbon s electron configuration determines the kinds and numbers of
bonds that carbon will form.
Carbon has six total electrons; two of the electrons it has are in its first electron shell while the other
four are its valence electrons. Due to its four valence electrons, it rarely gains and/or loses electrons
and/or form ionic bonds due to the fact it would have to give away or take four other electrons. In
order to complete its outer shell, carbons shares its valence electrons with other atoms by having four
separate covalent bonds. The carbon atom then becomes the crossing point where each molecule
branches off into four separate directions.Carbon s electron configuration allows it to bond frequently
with oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, and phosphorus. If the carbon atom forms only a single covalent
bond, The electrons form so that its bonds angle towards an imaginary tetrahedron.
Distinguish among monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides. Include structure and
function.
Monosaccharides, also known as simple sugars, are the simplest form of carbohydrates and can either
function alone or become a monomer for disaccharides or polysaccharides. Its function is to fuel
molecules in a living cell as well as be used as raw materials for the synthesis of amino and fatty
acids. It is formed of a singular sugar formula of CH2O. Disaccharides are used as an energy source
for organisms and made up of two

Cameleon Analysis
3.1.1 FRET based Ca2+ indicators
Cameleons, the first generation of GECIs [161], are chimeric proteins that, in their original iteration,
were composed of a blue or cyan FP as a FRET donor and a green or yellow FP as a FRET acceptor.
The two FPs are connected by CaM and its binding partner M13 (the CaM binding domain of myosin
light chain kinase) (Figure 6A). A similar design with only the CaM binding domain was also reported
in 1997 [162]. When the CaM domain of a cameleon binds to Ca2+, it changes its conformation and
sequentially binds to M13, which results in a more compact conformation that decreases the distance
between the FRET donor and acceptor. This decreased distance causes an increase in FRET efficiency
that manifests itself as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The presence of endogenous interaction partners may interfere with GECI function and lead to
reduced or diminished dynamic range [156]. In 2004, Griesbeck and coworkers engineered a new type
of FRET based GECI, called TN L15, by replacing calmodulin with troponin C (TnC) which interacts
with fewer endogenous proteins [167]. In 2006, Mank et al. reported further improvements in the
dynamic range and kinetics of TnC based indicators by engineering the magnesium and calcium
binding properties within the C terminal lobe. The best variant to arise from that work, TN XL,
exhibits a highly reproducible fluorescence signal with fast rise and decay times, as demonstrated in
the presynaptic motor neurons of transgenic flies [168]. By deletion of low affinity N terminal lobes,
the same group obtained a further improved version of TnC based GECIs, designated TN XXL, with
higher affinity to Ca2+. They demonstrated the usefulness of TN XXL for the chronic imaging in
mouse brain in vivo [163]. Very recently, Thestrup et al. developed a new FRET based indicator
Twitch , based on Opsanus troponin C, with reduced number of Ca2+ binding sites compared to TN
XXL [149]. They optimized the indicator by combining a large functional screen in bacteria with a
secondary screen in rat hippocampal

This would have been a good money maker for him and his family, and making money was a big deal
in the culture of these families. Since this conflicted with the class meeting time on Saturday, he
thought about dropping out of the class. Mr. Escalante showed Pancho how he could go beyond
merely fixing cars. One of the ways this was done was through showing Pancho technology that
designed cars. Mr. Escalante told him that he could go to college and make more money designing
cars. Mr. Escalante also took Pancho on an eye opening drive. When Pancho had to make a decision
about which way to go, he yelled go right, go right . Mr. Escalante continued straight and replied all
you see is the turn; you don t see the road ahead . When Jaime Escalante first agreed to teach at the
school, he was expecting to teach computer science. He arrived on the first day of school to find that
there were no computers in the school due to lack of funding. Since he could not teach that class, he
ended up teaching math. Mr. Escalante himself had a struggle with the economical culture within his
family. He chose to teach, which was a low paying job in that neighborhood. He could have found a
better job which paid more, but he chose to teach these students because he believed in them.
Political Culture As in every school system, there is a political structure among the staff. Jaime

Examples Of Foolishness In Othello
Othello s Foolishness
The tragedy Othello by William Shakespeare is a story based on the revenge of the main two
characters, Iago from Othello. Othello also known as the Moor is a man of discipline, honor and a
leader of men. He is a warrior who has served the army for many years. He is a well respected officer
in the Venetian State army. This is apparent as the Duke of Venice greets Othello by saying, Valiant
Othello, we must straight employ you against the general enemy Ottoman. (1.3.48 9). He is not a
native Italian which makes him to be an outsider. Not being a native may make others jealous of his
rank and the respect he receives from others.

To give it her. I did so, and take heed on t,

To lose t or give t away were such perdition
As nothing else could match. (3.4.50 63)
When her mother was dying, she passed on the handkerchief to Othello and told him to give it to his
loved one. Othello is a fool to believe that the handkerchief has magic in its webs and that if
Desdemona loses the handkerchief or gives it to someone, they would lose their love as well. He even
warns Desdemona about this and how it would be a great loss for them.
After killing Desdemona, Othello knows that he has done a thing which has left no space for
forgiveness for him. He is mostly blaming Iago for this action of his and we can see it where he says:
O ill starred wench,
Pale as thy smock! When we shall meet at compt
This look of thine will hurl my soul from heaven
And fiends will snatch at it. Cold, cold, my girl,
Even like thy chastity. O cursed, cursed slave!

Bench Press is one of the three work outs we will be...
Bench Press is one of the three work outs we will be discussing in the manual. Out of the three work
outs covered in this manual (performed at the PSU Abington gym) bench press, deadlift, and squat
bench press is the hardest to fully master. This work out will test upper body strength and power.
There are benefits from mastering or trying to master bench press: Bench press helps the upper body
gain muscle and get stronger. Finding a technique that works the best can make benching much easier
for the lifter. People who bench press with the wrong technique will lead to injuries. Injuries can take
time to heal, some people might take up to one week to heal. With the right instructions and technique
there will be no major injuries while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some reasons why injuries occur is because of poor positioning and poor training.
Some quick tips:
Improve bench press technique
Fix posture
Balance muscle
Neck: Make sure lower back and neck are supported properly. Avoid exercises that require arms to go
above the head. Strengthen upper back and improve posture when working out. Make sure to stop any
exercises that causes pain in the neck. Take frequent breaks when this happens and stretch frequently.
Some quick tips:
Stretch neck
Do not raise arms above head
Strengthen muscle around shoulder blade
Instructions for performing a Bench Press
While it is true that it is a great exercise, the bench press isn t the best choice for many lifters and,
unfortunately, the majority don t know how to actually perform it correctly (Smith). Some people do
not know how to bench press correctly. When it is done wrong then there will be serious injuries.
IMPORTANT: Always have a spotter when doing bench press. A spotter is someone who stands
behind and watches the person bench. They also make sure that the person is able to lift that much
amount of weight and if the person cannot lift that amount of weight then the spotter will help the
person. The spotter is there to make sure the person on the bench does not get stuck or fails to finish.
These instructions will help people fully understand how to bench press

On March 23, 2005, 15 people were killed and 170 were injured in an explosion at BP s Texas City
refinery (Schorn). It was the worst workplace accident in this country since 1989 (Schorn). BP, like
Amoco, considered replacing an antiquated blowdown drum used to collect gasoline. However, BP
decided to bank a saving of $150,000 and just repair the blowdown drum, because capital expenditure
was very tight (Schorn). According to many experts, this savings was the direct cause of the 2005
explosion. On March 23, 2005, BP employees began restarting a unit that had been down for repairs.
The blowdown drum began to fill with gasoline, but it overflowed and sent a geyser of gasoline into
the air (PBS: Frontline). The cloud of gas created from the drum was ignited by an idle truck. The
blast that followed destroyed several office trailers full of workers parked nearby (Schorn). After the
blast, several investigations were performed by Chemical Safety Board and Secretary of State James

The Rebirth of the U.S. Military Essay
The Rebirth of the U.S. Military During this last half of the twentieth century the US military was
under siege from all sides, internal and external. The root cause of this situation can be traced back to
Vietnam and the governments lack of true commitment. What resulted was the near destruction of the
US military. The military managed to come out in the end to become perhaps the best military in the
world by completely reevaluating itself and reorganizing almost every aspect . The primary focus will
be on the reorganization of the Army and Air force, and how they were affected by the disaster of
Vietnam. The US military managed to come out one top through completely reorganizing the way the

Even as the troops and material began to mount in Vietnam, there was no real plan on what to do with
those assets among the highest levels of government. In the future after Vietnam, the military was
adamant that this would not happen again. The crucial discussions among the highest echelons of the
government prior to war in June and July 1965 focused on the number of troops that would be
provided rather than for how and for what ends they would be used. The military would never forget
the governments ineptitude especially in the area of off limit targets. The North Vietnamese Army had
virtual sanctuaries were they could shuttle supplies and forces from, due to the fact that Johnson didn t
want to escalate the conflict. The restriction of bombing, mining, and blockade in the North and on
attacking sanctuaries in North Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia severely constrained the military strategy
of the generals. The added affect was for years to come there was distrust and contempt between the
military brass and the government. Johnson not only became increasingly controlling of military
matter s but neglected the domestic front. Presidential aides suggested the creation of a citizen s
committee to mobilize support at the grass roots level. Johnson rejected this idea and others, public

The Ethnography Labor And Legality
Sarah Rodrigues Dr. Melissa Goodman Elgar Anthropology 101.02 10 December 2015 Labor and
Legality The ethnography Labor and Legality is based on the experiences of ten different
undocumented immigrant men living and working in the Chicago area. These men have been called
the Lions by the author because they all originate from the same city in Mexico called Le?n. These
men differ meaningfully in their beliefs, experiences, and plans for the future, but they also have
important things in common. They are friends, and in some cases brothers and cousins, who share the
reputation of being ?illegal aliens? and the dignity of being hard workers and family men. Their
culture guides them through many different social settings, and each man has a different perspective.
The most important thing when coming to the Unites states is that first you need to find a job. All of
the men work low paying jobs because they are illegal, but the way they work is as if they are doing
the most important job on the planet. There willingness to work is said to be the most cultural value
that they have. They demonstrate their willingness to work by performing extra work without
complaint and with haste. The workers even have a name for this performance ?ech?ndole ganas?
which means to giving it your all, working hard or a desire to work hard (Gomberg Mu?oz, 80). The
workers at Il Vino are very conscious of impression management and explain that they have important

In What Way Does The Final Scene of Act 1 Demonstrate Dramatically The
Tensions Between The Characters Which Will Lead to Tragedy?
The final scene of Act 1 in Arthur Miller s A View From The Bridge demonstrates dramatic tension in
a variety of different ways. It is made fairly clear from the final moments of the act when Alfieri
returns to the stage that the play will end in tragedy. Miller shows this through dialogue between the
characters and in the plentiful stage directions with which he liberally sprinkles the text. There is a
range of conflict present in the scene. The central conflict however, involves Eddie s unacknowledged
jealousy towards Rodolfo; this is the strongest.
The above dispute is clearly visible when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alfieri s interlude, between
Eddie leaving his office and the lights coming up on the apartment behind, indicates quite clearly the
play will end in tragedy. Alfieri says I could see every step coming, step after step, like a dark figure
walking down a hall toward a certain door . He adds that he even asked an old, wise woman what she
thought he should do. The answer she gave was pray for him . It is obvious that Eddie is extremely
vulnerable.
Alfieri guesses how Eddie feels for Catherine and gently suggests that he needs to let go.
Unfortunately Eddie cannot bring himself to admit that he loves Catherine like Beatrice and therefore
does not benefit from Alfieri s advice. He reacts furiously . He desperately tries to invent problems in
his mind why Rodolfo cannot marry Catherine because deep down he is jealous.
The next section of the scene opens with the family finishing dinner.
Other tensions become more apparent in this scene. A prime example is that between Eddie and
Beatrice. Their conflict is made apparent as
Beatrice desperately tries to keep the conversation going, sensing
Eddie s growing anger. Instead of trying to suppress his annoyance at
Rodolfo he erupts at the cousins and scorns Beatrice.
Sure. How you gonna catch sardines on a hook?
Everything that Rodolfo says during this scene, Eddie takes the wrong way. I think this partly due to
their very different personalities.
For example Eddie looks out for his

The Avant Garde Cinema Community Essay
During the 1960s, the Avant
Garde cinema community began to see the emergence of an Underground
camp cinema that was intrigued with the concept of homosexuality, the normative constructs of
society and how the two co
existed. J. Hoberman and Jonathan Rosenbuam believed this new
transformative cinema arose from a need to defragment the official cinematic senses (Hoberman, p.
39). In turn, creating new ideas and concepts to be explored. During this time period,
queer/homosexual directors like Jack Smith, Kenneth Anger, and Andy Warhol created pictures like
Flaming Creatures, Scorp io Rising, and Blowjob. These films addressed the relationship of
heteronormative constructs to homosexuality in new ways via the use of unconventional methods,
including over the top acting, the incorporation of pop icons, androgyny, minimalist framing and
intense focus. Sus an Sontag who wrote, Notes on Camp which said these films arose from a need to
express and address the feelings of the marginalized (Sontag, p. 278). During this time the
homosexual community was marginalized making them the perfect subjects for these films. By
casting them as subjects in these films, viewers are allowed to see what it meant to be homosexual
during this time period. These films produced the creation of queerness and gave those who associated
themselves with being a queer theory we see in the 1990s emerges.
Much like the queer theory, underground cinema rose out of a need to address the normative form and

Theme Of A Confederacy Of Dunces
A Confederacy of Dunces, by Kennedy Toole, is a novel that narrates the struggles and
misunderstandings of a thirty year old man, Ignatius Reilly, living in New Orleans with his mother.
Not sane but not insane, this book is filled with situations of comic relief that allows the reader to truly
grasp the writing style of Toole. A social criticizing theme, controversial characters and a very unique
sense of structure makes ups the novel s 14 chapters. Ignatius is found in a conflicting situation when
his mother and him are in a car accident, which leaves them with a debt of a thousand dollars.

Why did Ignatius act like he didn t care nor love his mother or anyone around him? Why are there so
many different roles in this story but seem to have little or no connection? Who is Ignatius and why
should I read a whole novel mainly revolving him? It was disconcerting at first, it was difficult to
maintain interest but as the story progressed you saw deeper into the intricate mind of this strange
gentleman named Ignatius. You began to see that the lack of social skills was rooted from scarring
incidents in his childhood. That he wasn t a cold and unappealing man as he first appeared; he felt true
feelings for his ex girlfriend, he feared being judged as crazy and entering a mental institution, and he
actually could be affected by the actions of his mother. We also learn that Ms. Reilly was not only
looking for her well being, but that there were strands of love for her son and wanting to see him
succeed in life, in whatever sense that may be. Another very interesting part to the way of Ignatius in
Toole s writing is the dominant voice throughout the story. This can be rooted from the fact that it is
said that the story is a loose version of his own life experiences. Toole s way of presenting a very
disturbing, controversial, and difficult to relate to protagonist, was my main discomfort in the novel.
Discomfort doesn t necessarily mean bad though; reading the

Stock Car Racing Essay
National Association for Stock Car Racing (NASCAR) begin the process of branding its sport over
sixty years ago; therefore, becoming the most widely watched auto racing sport in the United States.
From its inception in 1948, owner and founder, William Henry France, quickly realized this sport
could potentially be a profitable endeavor. In 1959, France opened the first paved track The Daytona
International Speedway, which of course is located in Daytona Beach, Florida. There were more tracks
to ensue after the Daytona International Speedway opened its gates. Because the popularity of

Because NASCAR s branding strategy in the early years was so successful, it has created a very loyal
fan base which has risen to an astronomical 75 million fans. What has impacted NASCAR during the
economic downturn was the fact that they were heavily relying on major automobile companies, such
as, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and Chrysler; therefore, when the auto industry was
affected by the recession, it had an impact on NASCAR s sponsorship funding. For NASCAR to
insulate itself from further economic issues, the industry will need to remain faithful to their roots.
This is a spectator sport, not a sponsorship sport. This motorsport must maintain a fan base by
ensuring there are opportunities in which they can afford to participate. The branding and co branding
of NASCAR have proven to be a bit commercialized; therefore, placing drivers at risk for losing
business endorsements if they do not win. I do believe it has placed undue hardship for the driver. As
with any other sport, such as Football, Baseball, and Basketball, it has become more about the

Sleep Wake Cycle
Sleep timing, duration, and quality can influence the release of growth hormone, cortisol, leptin, and
ghrelin. The sleep wake cycle also influences insulin secretion. Reduced sleep can have adverse
effects on metabolism and endocrine function. Disruptions in circadian rhythm and the sleep wake
cycle regulate the release of hypothalamic activating and inactivating factors that influence the release
of pituitary hormones and sympathetic and parasympathic activity. With reduced sleep, a study found
increased evening cortisol levels, decreased glucose tolerance and glucose sensitivity, and a slight
elevation of GH while awake (Leproult Van Cauter, 2009). Because the student sleeps less than 8
hours a night, this will reduce the leptin level and elevate ghrelin, so the appetite of the student will
probably increase, thus increasing the BMI as well. Ghrelin works to stimulate the appetite. (Taheri,

which can increase the BMI. (Manenschijn, van Kruysbergen, de Jong, Koper, van Rossum, 2011).
Cortisol is a glucocorticoid made from cholesterol in the adrenal glands. Stress can stimulate the

The Stereotypes Of Monty Python And The Holy Grail
Chi Kit Peter Wong Stereotypes of The Middle Ages Pervaded in Monty Python and The Holy Grail
From the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, I found several funny stereotypes of the Middle
Ages. Firstly about men in the Middle Ages, they were portrayed as foolish and sluggish. Such as its
Salem witch trial scene, men distinguished a witch through weights of wood and duck, as well as they
used animal as weapons. Secondly concerning language, the director presented characters speaking
English in various accents. Yet, it is not a fixed stereotype of the Middle Ages, as the director may just
used an English script for viewers, and decided characters in various accent which correspond to
multiple languages. Meanwhile, he depicted a stereotype

The Middle Of The 19th Century
Introduction
The middle of the 19th century, it was thought to be an unexceptional practice if a company s purchase
of its own shares back. However, the point of view against the continued existence of the power began
to grow in force after the advancement of the model of limited liability. The ruling out on share
repurchases was as a final point added into the common law in Trevor v Whithworth. The prevention
was afterward enacted in companies legislation in England and subsequently in the different
Commonwealth countries, as well as Australia. The Act integrated two requirements of particular
consideration to the Lords. Firstly, there was a condition that the company should give its nominal
capital. Secondly, the legislation provided for an all inclusive practice for reducing capital and the
assets of the company.
It is an essential reason of corporate law that the share capital of a company should be maintained.
Nonetheless, a corporation limited by shares is open to shrink its share capital by a ruling of its
members provided that the decrease is not prohibited by its Bylaws and Memorandum of Association
and the company act in accordance with the procedures set out in the Corporation Act 2001. The
concept of reduction in share capital is delineated as the method of lessening a company s shareholder
equity through share cancellations and buy backs. The reduction of funds is done by companies for
several reasons as well as the increasing value of shareholder and

Rust Inhibitors In The Connecticut
Did you realize that living in Connecticut could cause you to come to a violent end? It s true, and for a
reason you may never expect. One would think road salt would help them during the winter to reduce
slippery conditions, but it also has a very horrid opposite effect.
The Connecticut D.O.T. needs to start putting rust inhibitors back into the road salt. The state uses
magnesium chloride to de ice the roads, which is especially corrosive. Rust inhibitors work by
reducing corrosion by consuming some of the oxygen that that is necessary to cause rust. Some
officials claim that if it gets into streams, it could lower oxygen levels, killing some fish or other
aquatic animal.
The rust inhibitors were taken out of road salt in CT in 2007 when wastewater treatment workers
reported low oxygen levels outside the plant. Nobody knows that rust inhibitors had anything to do
with it. State officials are too quick, in my opinion, to jump to conclusions. The cars in this state, one
of them possibly owned by you, will most likely experience rust in its near future, if it has not already.

President Lincoln As A Visionary Leader
Abraham Lincoln
Imagine how the state of the world will be today without the leadership of the United States of
America to police the world. Think about Iraq during Saddam Hussein s regime, Libya during Arafat s
regime and the behaviors like Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Had it not been the vision of
Abraham Lincoln to preserve the Union, there would not have been a strong unified United States
today. President Abraham Lincoln was a visionary leader and an ethical leader when leading the
United States through the Civil War during his Presidency. In this paper we will review how Lincoln
used his leadership traits to win the Civil War to preserve the Union and abolish slavery in America.
We will also review Lincoln as ethical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He often would walk from his office to the Secretary of War s office to discuss strategies to win the
war. David T. Phillips stated in his book Lincoln on Leadership that, Lincoln spent most of his time
among the troops (p.13). Lincoln rode his horse most of the time to the camp of the Union soldiers and
cheered them up. He also motivated them by letting them know the importance of winning the war.
The Core Lesson under Individual Consideration states that, The leader empathizes with and supports
each follower and keeps channels of communication open [BCEE] (2014a, p.13). We have discussed
Lincoln as Visionary Leader now let s move on to Lincoln as Ethical Leader.
Ethical Leader Abraham Lincoln was an Ethical Leader; he did the right thing, and made ethical
decisions regarding slavery. Lincoln was an honest man, and as a result he earned the nickname
Honest Abe . David Phillips wrote in his book Lincoln on Leadership , Lincoln always did the right
thing or at least he attempted to do so (1992, p.54). Thomas N. Barnes Center for Enlisted Education
[BCEE] (2014b) defines ethics as what we understand to be good and right behavior . Lincoln did the
right thing and did not associate himself with people he could not trust. He fired his first Secretary of
War, Simon Cameron, for illegally awarding a defense contract and other shady dealings. Lincoln

Why Is Noah s Ark Possible
Was Noah s Ark Possible?
In today s society, many children learn about the story of Noah s ark during their childhood. This story
often leads to a spark of imagination to children trying to imagine all of the animals to be on one
gigantic ark. What may seem like an incredible story in the light of a child s eyes may often lead to
questions on how it was possible as one gets older. This in turn leads to some of the possibilities of
what it would take if Noah s ark were to be possible.
The story of Noah s Ark began when God realized that the ancestors of Adam and Eve had slowly
began to become wicked as the generations grew and in to get rid of this, He would have to dispose of
humans (The Holy Bible New King James Version, 1982). However, there was one individual, ...

There was no way for Noah to precisely know what it would take for the boat to survive rough waves
or if it would be large enough to hold every species. Boats were made out of hollow logs, so there was
no one to turn towards to build an ark (Moore, 1983). If there were others that helped Noah build the
ark, they also would have needed a basic understanding of the requirements to build a boat. Also,
Noah would have needed to have known that wood would not be the best material to make the ark out
of because of the possibility of the wood to sag and rot within the time that he built it (Moore, 1983).
Steel, a much more preferred material, was used for boats this large of size, however steel was not
available during this time (Moore, 1983). Since these tools and materials were not available and the
ark needed some sturdiness, God told Noah to coat the entire ark with pitch, which was a common
practice during this time to seal things together (Moore,

What Does Disillusionment Of Ten O Clock Mean
Imagination is a crucial part of humanity. From the depths of the human mind, brilliant ideas can
emerge. The Disillusionment of Ten O Clock by Wallace Stevens, dramatizes how the average person
has lost all sense of imagination. The speaker focuses to comment on the white night gowns of the
people being observing, highlighting how typical and mundane their lives have become (2). The poem
then carries on to explain how they could have nightgowns that are purple with green rings,/Or green
with yellow rings or adorned with decorative trim, but the people still choose to wear the same, white
nightgowns (4 5). Finally, the poem concludes with the speaker saying that the people will not have
extravagant dreams; but sailors in their drunken states will dream vividly. The poem urges to reader to

Stevens, again, was very meticulous in using both a pirate and red weather. The pirate is the antithesis
of the people he is focusing on. Pirates are adventurous, bold, and place their faith in abstract concepts
like mermaids and treasure maps. They are not haunted by houses or suburbia (1). Pirates are free to
imagine what they want and when. The red weather part of the poem is Stevens s way of exploring the
pirate s own imagination. Since he is free to allow his mind to roam, he can come up with obscure
ideas like red weather. It does not make sense that the weather is red, but that is the point. The reader
is supposed to question why the weather now has color, and how. It is the transitional point from
dreaming only in white, to suddenly experiencing bright color. Disillusionment of Ten o clock reaches
out to the reader s inner child. It speaks to the part of the reader that wants to create something. It

Viktor Frankl s Man s Search For Meaning
Number 119,104: Viktor Frankl s Man s Search for Meaning
Viktor Frankl had a chance to escape the wrath of World War II, but he didn t! Instead, he chose to
stay behind so that he could be close to his parents. That choice, ultimately led him to extreme
experiences within several Nazi concentration camps, including the infamous Auschwitz. Watching
those around him suffer the same fate, the same hardships and the same pain, he noticed that they all
reacted differently. Those who had found a meaning or will to live did so, but others who had lost
everything dear to them often just gave up and died. Frankl realized that (and he often quotes
Nietzsche), He who has a why to live can bear with almost any how .
Frankl s Early Life and Parental Attachment
Viktor Frankl was born on March 26, 1905 in Vienna, the same day Beethoven died to Elsa and
Gabriel Frankl. He was interested in psychology from an early age and in 1921 gave a public lecture
On the Meaning of Life . He graduated with a doctorate in 1930 (V Frankl Institut). While in training
he had great difficulty being apart from his parents and stated in his autobiography that I was so
emotionally attached to my parental home that I suffered terrible homesickness during the first weeks
and months, even years, when I had to stay overnight in the various hospitals where I was working
(Frankl, 2000). In 1940, during the war, he became a director of the Neurological Department of

Persuasive Essay On Coral Sea
Did you know, almost 1 million square kilometres of the Coral Sea are located in Australian waters?
(The Conversation, 2017). The Coral Sea consists of pristine ecosystems, a globally recognised
number and diversity of large ocean predators and is known as a biodiversity hot spot (Marine
Conservation, 2017). There are a cultural significance as there are 104 shipwrecks in this sea however,
only 8 have been found (Marine Conservation, 2017). 49 magnificent types of habitats and over 300
threatened species are supported by the Coral Sea (Marine Conservation, 2017). There are declines in
multiple species but, did you know that the Coral Sea is 1 of the last places on earth where some of
those species have not yet been severely depleted (Marine Conservation, 2017). This is because of the
already no take zones in the area, imagine if we closed off more of the Coral Sea. There would be
more variety of species, an overflowing amount of the species that were previously threatened and
more dive spots for tourists and locals to explore and experience our magnificent ocean. The Coral
Sea Marine Park will attract more marine life to the region as there is more shelter and protection from
predators. This will cause more fishing and tourism opportunities around the coastal towns and the
Islands in and near the Coral Sea Marine National Park? What is that? Well, by looking at the table on

Why Is John F Kennedy Responsible For Jfk Assassination
John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, the event created suspicion and fear across
the country. JFK was assassinated on November 22nd, 1963 and the event led to many suspicious
conspiracy theories. Many people were investigated and went to trial, but none of which had
prominent evidence against them. It is possible that Oswald was working with or for someone, but
there is no evidence to prove so.
Lee Harvey Oswald had felt an indifference towards the economic and governmental ideals of the US.
He was a US marine and was dismissed because he was not a sharp shooter. It was known that Oswald
admired Fidel Castro and atempted to obtain a visa to go to Cuba. Lee Harvey Oswald also was
suspected of being a communist because he admired Marxist theories and the USSR. Oswald was also
a friend of George S. De Mohrenschildt, a Dallas, Tx oilman. It was reported that the oilmen were
protesting against low wages, etc to the president. However, there is no evidence that De

  • 2. Associate-Degree in Nursing vs. Baccalaureate-Degree in... Associate degree Nurses vs. Baccalaureate degree Nurses: An associate degree in nursing is obtained after a two year period in junior or community college and is provided online by some schools. On the contrary, a baccalaureate degree in this field is earned after a four year academic period in a university or traditional college. There are several distinctions between the two degrees as baccalaureate degree has emerged as an important requirement for professional practice in nursing. One of the major differences is type as an associate nursing degree is an academic achievement in Applied Science while a baccalaureate nursing degree is labeled as a bachelor s of science in nursing (BSN). However, the two degrees prepare students for the National Council Licensure Exam, which is a prerequisite for practicing as a registered nurse. After licensing, graduates of these degrees can work as new nurses in various facilities like clinics, hospitals, long term care, and other health facilities at the entry level position. Features and Benefits of the Degrees: In addition to the differences in the functions of these degrees, the associate degree and baccalaureate degree in nursing also vary in their features and benefits. Generally, an associate nursing degree focuses more on technical training as students in these programs are prepared for daily activities in the nursing profession and practice. On the contrary, a baccalaureate nursing degree basically entails general education ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Morning In The Burned House, By Gabrielle Roy theme of grief and its overall gloomy color scheme represent the mournful tone of the poem. Furthermore, the poem discusses the solitude of the speaker in the house and the lack of any additional human presence and the absence of vivacity in nature; this painting illustrates this notion through trees devoid of their leaves, the absence of any animal or human and the lack of sunlight as a result of the dull wintry setting. Morning in the Burned House captures the reader s attention through eloquent descriptions despite its bleak content. My Street embodies this trait of the poem perfectly; it displays an isolated and gloomy environment, yet, it illustrates the landscape with captivating colors and sensibly placed brushstrokes. My Street is also comparable to The Tin Flute by Gabrielle Roy. It depicts a considerably large house; however, the dragging brushstrokes and the dull crème colors seem to withhold its ... It displays one housing unit with several smaller annexes without any neighboring houses, which is analogous to the isolated housing situation of the Lacasse family. The novel highlights the house as a place where all members of the Lacasse family gather, yet, none of their exchanges appear familial or welcoming; the house is a place of detached interactions. This painting emulates the detached interactions through its housing design, which includes places where people often communicate, such as the patio (located on the left side), with the absence of people themselves. • 4. Homegoing Monologue Home is a four letter word reserved for a special place in our hearts for the memories that are invoked as you look back through time. These warm memories when desperately lonely is where the term home sick drieves from. Although, not all homes bring warm, fuzzy feelings. The book Homegoing clearly drives this point across. I will be discussing the home life of Kojo and H who belong to Esi s bloodline. First, you must understand how Kojo and H came into this world. Homegoing, revolves around two women, Esi and Effia, half sisters who never shared a home, nor even knew the other existed. You are not your mother s first daughter. There was one before you. And in my village we have a saying about separated sisters. They are like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He also smelled cooking. There at the stove stood Ethe. • 5. Character Response To Fated Ophelia In Shakespeare s Hamlet Dear Fated Ophelia In Shakespeare s Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, the state of Denmark became enrobed in an elusive veil of unrest after the late king s mysterious death and the hasty remarriage of Queen Gertrude to the king s brother Claudius. In the midst of the dramatic happenings, the king s son Hamlet is left to navigate his way through the relational dynamic between Claudius, Gertrude, and Ophelia. The young woman by the name of Ophelia, was the daughter of the late king s adviser and found herself to be caught in the middle of the surrounding world of deceit and avengement. As Ophelia was molded into the tumultuous game cultivated by those that were seemingly trying to protect her, she in turn was one that received the most accumulated hurt. To dig deeper into the heart of the play, it is beneficial to expound upon a specific dynamic character and develop analysis through their eyes and surrounding environment. Ophelia is a prime character to utilize because she was intermingled in dealings with all other major characters and contributed a unique disposition to every scene in which she was featured. Ophelia strived to embody obedience and equanimity in all that she did and in turn experienced many moments that fully tested her nature. To specify, Ophelia was loyal to maintain obedience to her father and brother, whilst grappling to contain her composure when faced with various relationship struggles between her and Hamlet. Ophelia s devout submission and obedience to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. How Carbon s Electron Configuration Determines The Kinds... Viola Tuliao PD. 7 8 Organic Chemistry Explain how carbon s electron configuration determines the kinds and numbers of bonds that carbon will form. Carbon has six total electrons; two of the electrons it has are in its first electron shell while the other four are its valence electrons. Due to its four valence electrons, it rarely gains and/or loses electrons and/or form ionic bonds due to the fact it would have to give away or take four other electrons. In order to complete its outer shell, carbons shares its valence electrons with other atoms by having four separate covalent bonds. The carbon atom then becomes the crossing point where each molecule branches off into four separate directions.Carbon s electron configuration allows it to bond frequently with oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, and phosphorus. If the carbon atom forms only a single covalent bond, The electrons form so that its bonds angle towards an imaginary tetrahedron. Distinguish among monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides. Include structure and function. Monosaccharides, also known as simple sugars, are the simplest form of carbohydrates and can either function alone or become a monomer for disaccharides or polysaccharides. Its function is to fuel molecules in a living cell as well as be used as raw materials for the synthesis of amino and fatty acids. It is formed of a singular sugar formula of CH2O. Disaccharides are used as an energy source for organisms and made up of two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Cameleon Analysis 3.1.1 FRET based Ca2+ indicators Cameleons, the first generation of GECIs [161], are chimeric proteins that, in their original iteration, were composed of a blue or cyan FP as a FRET donor and a green or yellow FP as a FRET acceptor. The two FPs are connected by CaM and its binding partner M13 (the CaM binding domain of myosin light chain kinase) (Figure 6A). A similar design with only the CaM binding domain was also reported in 1997 [162]. When the CaM domain of a cameleon binds to Ca2+, it changes its conformation and sequentially binds to M13, which results in a more compact conformation that decreases the distance between the FRET donor and acceptor. This decreased distance causes an increase in FRET efficiency that manifests itself as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The presence of endogenous interaction partners may interfere with GECI function and lead to reduced or diminished dynamic range [156]. In 2004, Griesbeck and coworkers engineered a new type of FRET based GECI, called TN L15, by replacing calmodulin with troponin C (TnC) which interacts with fewer endogenous proteins [167]. In 2006, Mank et al. reported further improvements in the dynamic range and kinetics of TnC based indicators by engineering the magnesium and calcium binding properties within the C terminal lobe. The best variant to arise from that work, TN XL, exhibits a highly reproducible fluorescence signal with fast rise and decay times, as demonstrated in the presynaptic motor neurons of transgenic flies [168]. By deletion of low affinity N terminal lobes, the same group obtained a further improved version of TnC based GECIs, designated TN XXL, with higher affinity to Ca2+. They demonstrated the usefulness of TN XXL for the chronic imaging in mouse brain in vivo [163]. Very recently, Thestrup et al. developed a new FRET based indicator Twitch , based on Opsanus troponin C, with reduced number of Ca2+ binding sites compared to TN XXL [149]. They optimized the indicator by combining a large functional screen in bacteria with a secondary screen in rat hippocampal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The star of the movie is Jaime Escalante played by Edward James Olmos. Escalante is the teacher of the students that quits his job with a computer company to teach at Garfield High School. He comes to teach computer science, but the school did not get the computers and he has to teach math. This would have been a good money maker for him and his family, and making money was a big deal in the culture of these families. Since this conflicted with the class meeting time on Saturday, he thought about dropping out of the class. Mr. Escalante showed Pancho how he could go beyond merely fixing cars. One of the ways this was done was through showing Pancho technology that designed cars. Mr. Escalante told him that he could go to college and make more money designing cars. Mr. Escalante also took Pancho on an eye opening drive. When Pancho had to make a decision about which way to go, he yelled go right, go right . Mr. Escalante continued straight and replied all you see is the turn; you don t see the road ahead . When Jaime Escalante first agreed to teach at the school, he was expecting to teach computer science. He arrived on the first day of school to find that there were no computers in the school due to lack of funding. Since he could not teach that class, he ended up teaching math. Mr. Escalante himself had a struggle with the economical culture within his family. He chose to teach, which was a low paying job in that neighborhood. He could have found a better job which paid more, but he chose to teach these students because he believed in them. Othello also known as the Moor is a man of discipline, honor and a leader of men. He is a warrior who has served the army for many years. He is a well respected officer in the Venetian State army. This is apparent as the Duke of Venice greets Othello by saying, Valiant Othello, we must straight employ you against the general enemy Ottoman. (1.3.48 9). Othello is a fool to believe that the handkerchief has magic in its webs and that if Desdemona loses the handkerchief or gives it to someone, they would lose their love as well. He even warns Desdemona about this and how it would be a great loss for them. After killing Desdemona, Othello knows that he has done a thing which has left no space for forgiveness for him. He is mostly blaming Iago for this action of his and we can see it where he says: O ill starred wench, Pale as thy smock! However, BP decided to bank a saving of $150,000 and just repair the blowdown drum, because capital expenditure was very tight (Schorn). According to many experts, this savings was the direct cause of the 2005 explosion. On March 23, 2005, BP employees began restarting a unit that had been down for repairs. The blowdown drum began to fill with gasoline, but it overflowed and sent a geyser of gasoline into the air (PBS: Frontline). The cloud of gas created from the drum was ignited by an idle truck. The final scene of Act 1 in Arthur Miller s A View From The Bridge demonstrates dramatic tension in a variety of different ways. It is made fairly clear from the final moments of the act when Alfieri returns to the stage that the play will end in tragedy. Alfieri s interlude, between Eddie leaving his office and the lights coming up on the apartment behind, indicates quite clearly the play will end in tragedy. Alfieri says I could see every step coming, step after step, like a dark figure walking down a hall toward a certain door . He adds that he even asked an old, wise woman what she thought he should do. The answer she gave was pray for him . It is obvious that Eddie is extremely vulnerable. Alfieri guesses how Eddie feels for Catherine and gently suggests that he needs to let go. Unfortunately Eddie cannot bring himself to admit that he loves Catherine like Beatrice and therefore does not benefit from Alfieri s advice. He reacts furiously . He desperately tries to invent problems in his mind why Rodolfo cannot marry Catherine because deep down he is jealous. The next section of the scene opens with the family finishing dinner. Other tensions become more apparent in this scene. A prime example is that between Eddie and Beatrice. Their conflict is made apparent as Beatrice desperately tries to keep the conversation going, sensing Eddie s growing anger. Instead of trying to suppress his annoyance at Rodolfo he erupts at the cousins and scorns Beatrice. Sure. How you gonna catch sardines on a hook? • 33. Viktor Frankl s Man s Search For Meaning Number 119,104: Viktor Frankl s Man s Search for Meaning Viktor Frankl had a chance to escape the wrath of World War II, but he didn t! Instead, he chose to stay behind so that he could be close to his parents. That choice, ultimately led him to extreme experiences within several Nazi concentration camps, including the infamous Auschwitz. Watching those around him suffer the same fate, the same hardships and the same pain, he noticed that they all reacted differently. Those who had found a meaning or will to live did so, but others who had lost everything dear to them often just gave up and died. Frankl realized that (and he often quotes Nietzsche), He who has a why to live can bear with almost any how . Frankl s Early Life and Parental Attachment Viktor Frankl was born on March 26, 1905 in Vienna, the same day Beethoven died to Elsa and Gabriel Frankl. He was interested in psychology from an early age and in 1921 gave a public lecture On the Meaning of Life . He graduated with a doctorate in 1930 (V Frankl Institut). While in training he had great difficulty being apart from his parents and stated in his autobiography that I was so emotionally attached to my parental home that I suffered terrible homesickness during the first weeks and months, even years, when I had to stay overnight in the various hospitals where I was working (Frankl, 2000). • 35. Persuasive Essay On Coral Sea Did you know, almost 1 million square kilometres of the Coral Sea are located in Australian waters? (The Conversation, 2017). The Coral Sea consists of pristine ecosystems, a globally recognised number and diversity of large ocean predators and is known as a biodiversity hot spot (Marine Conservation, 2017). There are a cultural significance as there are 104 shipwrecks in this sea however, only 8 have been found (Marine Conservation, 2017). 49 magnificent types of habitats and over 300 threatened species are supported by the Coral Sea (Marine Conservation, 2017). There are declines in multiple species but, did you know that the Coral Sea is 1 of the last places on earth where some of those species have not yet been severely depleted (Marine Conservation, 2017). This is because of the already no take zones in the area, imagine if we closed off more of the Coral Sea. There would be more variety of species, an overflowing amount of the species that were previously threatened and more dive spots for tourists and locals to explore and experience our magnificent ocean. This will cause more fishing and tourism opportunities around the coastal towns and the Islands in and near the Coral Sea Marine National Park? What is that? Employees of the depository claim that they saw Oswald in the building carrying a bag, however some witnesses say that it wasn t big enough to carry a rifle. Suspicion arises on the trajectory of the bullet, it is unusual that only three bullets could cause so much damage while the bullet in the end looked untouched. Photographs were taken of the scene on the sixth floor of the depository that displayed stacked boxes that formed a sniper s position. Another proof of guilt is that Oswald was seen and followed outside of the depository by police officers. He killed a police officer in Dallas, 45 minutes after JFK was ... • 37. The Hip-Hop Influence On Kormac s Music Kormac has been releasing music as a solo artist since 2007 in the form of The Scratch Marchin , Good Lord and Showtime EPs worldwide. Following that was the release of his debut LP Wordplay. The success of Wordplay led to Kormac being booked for larger shows both in Ireland and abroad. In his own words he wanted a new way to present his sampled based productions in a live setting. He set about recruiting his own ensemble and Kormac s Big Band was born. He found a brass section and complemented that core with an ever evolving group consisting of bass, drums, electronics, guitars, synths, turntables, singers and MCs.
