Foreshadowing In Bible
All things considered, God always had in mind one plan for salvation. Since, the promise made to
Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:15 were He says, And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and
between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel the devil had
tried to deceive us with the biggest lie, that there are many ways to come to God. As a result, most
religions view God as a being that modifies according to peoples standards, peoples view point,
peoples believe, and their own interpretation of the Bible. However, that is not how God runs the
universe. In fact, the main reason for God to establish the temple among the Jews was in order to serve
as a prefiguring of the coming of the perfect lamb Jesus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another key point, is that every sacrifice ceremony was providing just a temporary covering of once
sin, and could never take it away forever. On the other hand, the foreshadowing of the perfect Lamb,
would come to remove sin forever. That is what the temple represented, that there is one way to
heaven, the lamb slain, Jesus Christ. Now, the time has come to have faith in Jesus Christ for salvation
of our souls. The temple is no longer needed. In effect, no longer we need to wait for the foreshadow
of Jesus Christ, we no longer need to slain a sheep to cover our sins, we no longer need to seek God
on an altar, as he dwells within us through the Holy Spirit. God has never given us a spirit of fear,
rather a spirit of faith in Jesus Christ. Under those circumstances, when Jesus declared, I am the way,
is the reason why Jews hated Him. As a result, they were intolerance with Him and Christians, until
this day. The Bible speaks of Jesus Christ becoming the stumbling rock for the Jews by not accepting
his vicarious death. In fact, the incredible thing about Jesus is that He is the way, the truth and the life

My Personal Narrative
My personal narrative
It was a normal summer morning, the sun came up, and I woke up and got ready for the day, but it
wouldn t be any normal summer day. It all started when the same summer morning, when my dad
asked, Hey Gavin, you want to go to the Makers Fair at Union Station? I didn t know what he was
talking about, so I asked him a few questions about what the makers fair was. He told me that it was a
fair where people made products and technology. My dad stated, I wouldn t ask you if I didn t think
you would like it. I was sure whether to say yes or no. It sounded cool because I has an interest, but I
was a little worried that I would let my hopes up too high and be upset when it turned out to not be as
good as I expected. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was amazed at the fact that this kind of technology was at the fair, yet I was a little hesitant about
going to it first. If I knew that there was stuff this interesting at it, I would have been the one asking to
go there. Believe it or not, this wouldn t be the most interesting thing I would see that day.
After exploring for a while, my parents and I moved on to the next section. One of the most interesting
things we saw was a rover made by students from the University of Missouri Science and Technology.
A rover is a remote controlled robot on wheels designed to help humans complete certain tasks.
Rovers have many different designs. This rover had six black wheels that were very flimsy. Above the
wheels was a rectangular compartment that held the computers and power supply. The was also a pole
with a camera on top, not a typical camera, but a small rectangular cube with flat lenses. I also a
robotic arm on the front of the rover used to pick up move objects. Since it had a similar design to the
rovers that NASA has sent to Mars, I became interested in it since I was passionate about space travel.
I examined the rover for a while, and then one of the students, noticing how I was interested in the
rover came over, and asked: Do you have any questions?
Wanting to continue my observations without being interrupted, I said, I don t have any questions right
now. However, I heard my mom and talking

Why Computers Don T Belong In The Classroom Summary
As the technology advances, more utilities become available to us that make our lives easier. This
correlates to the short essay Why Computers Don t Belong in the Classroom by Clifford Stoll. Stoll
argues that the high usage of technology in schools gives students the incentive have weak thinking
skills and not focus in class. I agree with the argument of Clifford Stoll as the usage of technology
simply motivates students to procrastinate, rely heavily on online resources and lose interest in class
activities. Technology provides a distraction for students as they would rather watch TV or play video
games. Clifford Stoll argues, If kids watch too much TV, why bring multimedia video systems into
schools. Stoll implies that the schools are allowing students to expect some sort of multimedia in their
classes. Showing videos during class may help some of the visual learners, but most students consider
this as a free time and not focus. Furthermore, Stoll states that teachers show videos during class due
to their lack of information. In this case, the teachers should prepare beforehand and keep the students
interested. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their assignments. Clearly, promoting technological usage in class provokes the students to become

Defamation Case Brief
Defamation is an intentional tort involving a defamatory statement made by the defendant in regards
to the plaintiff. In Steve s case he is being defamed in spoken word and written word by his opponent,
Marcus Unwell. Steve should sue his opponent for slander and label per se, as Unwell s false
comments caused Steve s integrity to be called into question; consequently, he lost his bid for office
and faced financial hardship as people began to boycott his company. Unwell s comments fall into the
category of slander per se as he alleged during speeches that Steve was an incompetent, communist
whose company sold defective products; this statement directly seeks to damage Steve s business
reputation. Steve s lawyer should also argue negligence

Wood has been widely used in numerous applications from early ages to present. Wood is an very
important material for constructions.
Talking about wood, the first thing that comes to my mind is the Forbidden City.
The Forbidden City is a great masterpiece in the world, representing Chinese people s wisdom and
hard work. It s also the largest and the most complete existing wooden building in the world. The
Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace where include 980 buildings located in the center of

Glutamine Vs Azide
The comparison of Azidoglutamine with Azide 1 on cell binding gave a clearer picture of the
competition between L glutamine and glutamine analogues. The activity of Azide 1 was shown to be
more tremendous than Azidoglutamine although it was not as good as Azide 2. The glutamine uptake
inhibition was mostly observed in 4T1 RLR and HepG2 luc2 cells. These data suggest a different
binding mechanism of Azide 1 to cells. The good effect on the 4T1 RLR cell again indicates the
potential involvement of systems A or L in the uptake of Azide 1. The difference of Azide 1 binding
affinity between HT1080 luc2 and HepG2 luc2 might propose a lesser importance of the system
ASCT2 in this case. Both of the cell types were found to express ... Show more content on

It was shown in section 3.5 that Azide 2 significantly inhibited the growth of all three cell types: 4T1
RLR, HT1080 luc2 and HepG2 luc2. Azide 2 which was shown as the most potent competitor of
glutamine uptake tested in this study also killed the cells with IC50 values at 0.1 0.2mM. As
previously mentioned, only a very low concentration of Azide 2 from 5 16µM was effective enough to
reduce the glutamine uptake by these cell types to a half of maximal level. The mechanism by which
the cell growth was disrupted quickly is still unclear. However, the extreme interference of glutamine
uptake should be the first point to exploit the action of Azide 2. Then, more experiments can be
subsequently carried out to investigate the killing effect on the intracellular environment. In contrast to
Azide 2, Azide 1 killed the cells slowly with the IC50 value at 0.55 3mM which is 5 30 fold higher
than that of Azide 2. The mode of Azide 1 s toxicity to cells is quite consistent with the inhibition
trend of glutamine uptake. As Azide 1 bound and inhibited the glutamine uptake by 4T1 RLR and
HepG2 luc2 cells better than HT1080 luc2 cells, it affects the growth of the former two cell types
more dramatically than the latter. Hence, the working mechanism on which the compound counted to

The Book Control Officer On Ft Riley
As the Book Control Officer on Ft Riley, I am required to issue, receive and train officers and their
lower enlisted soldiers on how to maintain accountability for meal card books; which is a control item.
At one point the Meal Card Control Officer requested that he Meal Card Controllers be giving a class
on how to maintain accountability of control books. While giving the verbal block of instructions no
one asked any question. Once I completed the verbal portion of the class, a demonstration of the
process was also implemented in class. Afterward, I asked were there any question; no question was
asked. Therefore, I assumed that everyone was ready for the hand on a portion of the class.
Therefore, I pared the soldiers, two by two; one was to issue the card and the other one was to receive
the card. However, they all fail miserably. They assumed that all army s forms are self explanatory.
Therefore, we did it together step by step. Each group was given the military form (DA Form 4809)
the issuer filed out block a, b, d and gave the form to the receiver for signature. Upon signing the DA
Form 4809 and the DD Form 714; which completed that transaction. The second go around the
receiver stated that they lost the card. Therefore, the issuer had to go to the next line, fill out block c,
d, have the receiver sign, make a copy of the DA Form 4809 and close out the copied form then place
it in the inactive folder. The original copy was to go to the next line fill out

Financial Statements Measure The Liquidity And The...
Introduction The financial statements measure the liquidity and the strength of a business. On the
balance sheet; offsets calculate the real value of accounts receivables and fixed assets. Uncollectible
accounts receivables and depreciation reflect the offsets reported on financial statements. In
accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); two methods compute the
uncollectible accounts receivable expense. Just like uncollectible accounts offset the value of accounts
receivables; so do depreciation expenses counteract the value of fixed assets. Also called contra
accounts, the journal entries accumulate and are then recorded on the balance sheet.
Part One Uncollected Receivables The first technique is the write off method. Small companies with a
small number of uncollected accounts receivables, or, bad debts; utilize this process. Once a customer
account becomes worthless, a write off occurs. Immediately, the write off is recorded in the journal;
applied directly to the uncollectible customer account. The first step in this journal entry; debit the
customer s accounts receivable account. In the next entry; credit the allowance for doubtful accounts.
With this process, an accumulation of entries are completed during the period, as customer accounts
become uncollectible. The book Financial Accounting (Duchac, Reeve, Warren, 2014) states: At the
end of a period, Allowance for Doubtful Accounts will normally have a balance. Second, the

Guidelines For Taxonomy And Phylogenetic Terminology
Citation MLA
Zachos, Frank E. Tree Thinking and Species Delimitation: Guidelines for Taxonomy and Phylogenetic
Terminology. Mammalian Biology 81.2 (2015): 185 88. Web.
In your own words, what was the main focus of the article? There are multiple interpretations
concerning how phylogenetic trees are built and the understanding of the phylogenetic species
concept. A common mistake when it comes to interpreting phylogenetic trees, which portray
evolutionary relationships among taxa. Generally it is viewed as a ladder of progress, yet it is not so
simple and is often the most relevant error to occur among reports. Species delimitation additionally
plays a similar role in this article, in that it is misused when providing evidence of species being
divided; however, it is much harder to understand the varying outlooks. Overall, the article focused on
these mistakes un order to provide practical guidelines for phylogenetic and taxonomic papers.
In your opinion, which was the importance of Figure 1? Explain why. Figure one is a correct
representation of a phylogenetic tree. It is important to the article due to the fact that it is a visual that
can be understood and compared to. The article focuses on the fact that phylogenetic trees are
generally incorrect due to a wrong impression. For example, not at any time will a tree be read from
left to right since there is no difference in whether a taxa is drawn on the left or the right side of the
tree. The only important

Grammar is a concept that is used in writing, speaking and even reading; it describes a language and
can be different depending on the location of a person. Grammar is affected by the dialect that a
person speaks. I have chosen the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins to focus on various
grammar topics and build a better understanding of some topics. This book is one that examines the
life of families in twelve districts, all of which are currently living their lives at different paces and in

because if you, as the writer, do not correctly write a sentence then the sentence is not going to make
any sense. Not only is this going to affect the sentence itself, but also it is going to affect the entire
paper. Using the book The Hunger Games, I knew I would not find any grammar errors because it is a

Has birth control helped our women or been an affliction for them ? In 1950, a lady whose name is

Media Impact On Teenagers
The Media and Body Image of Teenagers What s on the outside doesn t matter, its what s on the inside
that matters . We hear sayings such as this all the time, yet we live in a society that contradicts this
idea constantly. There is no doubt that due to media, the way teens see themselves has changed. The
media is setting unrealistic beauty standards, which influences everyone, and this is having a
detrimental affect on adolescents. The impact of media on teenagers is appalling. These beauty
standards are negatively affecting teenage girls as well as teenage boys, and due to the prominence of
this issue, several efforts are being made to combat this. Firstly, the media has greatly affected the way
teenage girls now look at themselves and specifically at their bodies. This is encouraged by the ideal
body image that is created by the media. For some reason, the ideal image is portrayed as a skinny,
tall, size 2 model with perfect skin. And if you don t have that, there s hope yet because having an
hourglass body is equally appreciated. These are not realistic images as no more than 15% of women
actually look like this. Then there is the concept of fat versus thick. This is the idea that having extra
fat below your waist is known as thick but having extra fat above your waist is considered fat . In
today s media being thick is a compliment yet no one wants to be fat. Many people don t understand
how real this problem actually is. In fact, celebrities such as Emma Watson have talked about how
they continuously feel pressured by the media to look a certain way and she says that when she didn t
meet those expectations, she would fall into anxiety. She says, If that s how I feel and I get to be the
person who s on the cover of those magazines how s anyone else meant to cope? This is proof that the
ideal body image is not realistic, even for celebrities, and due to this, it is almost impossible for
fashion companies to find models that fit this standard. So, many labels and companies have resorted
to using a process called airbrushing. This involves retouching photos to remove what the media refers
to as flaws and it can also be used to change or enhance the image. These transforms photos using

Examine the Key Ideas Associated with Law and Punishment
Examine the key ideas associated with law and punishment Law and Punishment go hand in hand.
There are Laws, which are the system of rules which a particular country or community recognises as
regulating the actions of followers, and there are punishments, for when a member of said

pain for an offence. Most of the time it is not a choice as to whether you are part of a law following

laws. Kant had a similar conclusion i.e. that we should keep the laws but for a different reason. Kant
said that we should act so that you treat humanity, both in your own person and in that of another,
always as an end i.e. we should keep the laws so that we do not treat others as means to an end. His
idea of kingdom of ends states act in accordance with the maxims of a member giving universal laws
for a merely possible kingdom of ends where the kingdom of ends is a perfect community where all
members respect each other as ends in themselves. This is what we should strive to achieve, and to be
successful at this we should keep the laws of the community. Therefore we should keep the laws and
to keep the laws means that we must punish those that break the law.. Evaluate the view that
objectivity and relativism pose problems for the concept of law and punishment. Objectivity states that

The Effects Of Alcohol And Drug Abuse On Criminal Activities
Discussion: Whilst many theorists have differing views on whether or not alcohol and drug abuse is
related to criminal activities, there are however a variety of preventative and intervention methods
known commonly as harm reduction . This theory aims to assist in society s responses in how we
intervene when it comes to drug abusers as well as how the use of drug taking harms society itself.
Such designed strategies aim to reduce and eventually stop substance abuse. Harm reduction methods
can come in the form of intervention programmes (such as rehabilitation programmes), or access to
health clinics and support groups that include needle exchange services for drug injectors and these
aim to lessen the after effects that are linked with substance abuse and criminal activities. According
to Newcombe, R. (1992), Harm Reduction can be defined as a term that defines policies, programmes,
services and actions that work to reduce the health, social and economic harm , as well as to reduce
the harms to individuals, communities and society . Many local and international organisations can
attest to and be evidence of the usefulness of the harm reduction theories (each having their own or
similar approaches). Some of these organisations include Drugscope a popular UK charity, NTA
National Treatment Agency (for Substance Misuse), and also CCSA The Canadian Centre on
Substance Abuse. The CCSA has a 4 step approach in how to deal with reducing harm for drug

Therefore, be sure to ask several questions and gain complete clarity on this subject. When one

Felicity Baker, Olivia Metcalf and others from the University of Melbourne reviewed studies to see
just how effective the creative art therapies are for those suffering from PTSD. The way they did this
was by searching databases for peer reviewed published studies to test the efficiency of the creative art

categorized treatments into three different categories: ongoing therapist involvement, limited therapist

Exages And Disadvantages Of Outsourcing
Many Companies nowadays have engaged outsourcing strategies to reduce cost. Instead of doing it by
their own staff, buying machines for fabrication. they engaged vendor to do it for them. There are pros
and cons when dealing other company to provide/manufacture/assemble goods. Advantage of
outsourcing is that It s undeniably true that it s cheaper to rent a factory and its workers than to
maintain them yourself. Good outsourcing must have a very good planning to overcome some
changes. The contract must be very well done, well define to adopt changes and will not result to
unexpected rise of cost. Rise of unexpected cost is then called the overlooking hidden cost. Some of
the hidden cost are as follows:

7. Planned headcount reduction, Most companies plan to reduce headcount through outsourcing, but
they usually end up keeping some employees to help in the transition and the cost of extended period
of employees is not accounted for and adds on as hidden cost.
8. Poor change communications, poor communication about the changes in outsourcing is extremely
complex and burdensome. If you do it poorly and unplanned, some employees may leave before the
transition. Or, if you fail to give enough notice, some employees or union workers may stay too long.
In this case, you won t be able to reduce your manpower headcount in time, which means you ll end
up paying your employees and your service provider for the same work.
9. Shadow organizations, retained employees in the organization who continue doing old way things
almost always exist in an outsourcing relationship.

On April, 2 1939 Alberta and Marvin Gay Sir gave birth to the famous R B artist Marvin Gaye in

Nosferatu Essay
Response 1 Nosferatu
My experience watching a feature length silent film was very interesting, to say the least. I found it
amazing that they were able to tell a complete story on only visual elements. Nosferatu had many
similarities to A trip to the Moon by George Melies. Comparatively it had more storytelling elements
character development purely due to film length. I feel it would be very challenging to produce such a
complex story under the constraints of such a short film. I believe my experience to be very typical of
someone who has never watched a full length silent film, I was gripped with curiosity on how this film
would tell the great story of Dracula without the stereotypical screams and jump scares that horror
movies today bring to the screen. I feel like the film did a fantastic job of telling the story with the
limitations of being able to use sound. I will be very interested in watching another full length silent
film from that era to see the difference in writing and filming styles. I would also be interested in re
watching Nosferatu during the night time to see if that elevates the experience of watching a horror in

Nosferatu, however, focused heavily on the character s fear and and silent screams to set the tone of
the film. I did not feel that same level of terror among the gentlemen on the moon when the aliens
arrived.
The girl and her trust by D.W. Griffith felt like it achieved that sense of fear by using a choppy film
style to capture the desperate feeling the characters were having in their situation. The same approach
was used to develop the fear Hutter was having towards Nosferatu.
Overall, I found the experience a positive one and I greatly enjoyed being able to compare the
difference in film style to the current style of modern cinema. I will definitely be watching another

The Prevalence Of Refractive Errors In Children
Refractive errors are the result of misaligned optical components within the eye causing improper
focusing of light onto the retina. Although the optical components may vary by a minute amount, the
resulted blurred vision will not only affect the individual but also society in terms of the health
industry, education, research and socioeconomics. As a result of the impact of refractive errors, there
has been an increasing emphasis for research and action plans placed by eye health organisations and
the government on the development, prevention and control of refractive errors.
As a child s eye begins to develop and undergo emmetropization, there is a dynamic change to the

The most common cause of visual impairment is due to uncorrected refractive error. 2 Studies by
researchers by the Brien Holden Vision Institute approximates the cost to correct refractive errors to
be US$20 045 million.2 The correction of refractive errors make a worthwhile investment as
uncorrected refractive errors cause an estimated US$91,300 million US$327,000 million loss in
productivity. 2 In order to minimise this loss of productivity, it is imperative for the government to
support visual health sectors. Therefore, due to the high economic costs of refractive error, family,
communities and the government must implement preventative or corrective measures.
There are high costs for poverty stricken nations tackling uncorrected refractive errors. The impact of
blindness of a country can amount to $42 billion in 2000. 2 This large sum will be very difficult to set
aside and invest in eye health in developing countries. When eye health is left untreated this will often
increase the cost of repairing eye health issues which furthers the cycle of decreasing eye health care.
Therefore, it is ideal for developing countries to highly invest in quality eye care as soon as they can
afford to train health

The Character Message in The Conjure Tales of Charles W....
Going back over the Goophered Grapevine and Po Sandy in The Conjure Tales of Charles W.
Chesnutt, I want to unfold the message Chesnutt is portraying through particular characters in these
stories. Is the message the critics see, the same as the reader? I feel like Chesnutt contradicts himself
in the conjure tales. By this I mean that he comes off to the reader as one thing, but he is interpreted by
literary critics as something else. I think the reason that Chesnutt s work seems contradictory is
because he has many voices throughout the stories and it is hard for the reader to distinguish which
voice belongs to Chesnutt. Should these stories be looked upon as mere entertainment or as something
else? According to Richard E. Baldwin, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
William Andrews saw that Chesnutt used the old time Negro model to create Uncle Julius (Chesnutt,
378). Looking at the Goophered Grapevine, one of the main characters, Julius, is seen as being a
trickster. He seems to lie in order to fulfill his own desires. The author is reaffirming the stereotypes of
blacks by using the character in this manner. Which is, they are liars and they will do anything to
achieve what they need or want. This is how the old slave was exploited. Although they were faithful
in years they were portrayed as willing to steal or kill to get what they needed. The reader is not
sympathetic with Julius in the two stories. The other two main characters are John, the narrator, and
his wife Annie. According to Duncan, John and Julius negotiate a new... relationship between two
previously isolated American voices: the black and the white, the rich and the poor, the North and the
South (Duncan, 78). John and his wife represent two sides of the white community; those who hold
the beliefs of the plantation school and those that are sympathetic with the Negro and their condition
(slavery, post slavery). It appears that Chesnutt made the narrator a white male for a reason. This is
done in order to articulate expressions of doubt [which] make him a suitable proxy for both the wary

Sex Workers And Sex Work Essay
The term sex work dates to 1973, when the organization Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics proposed
replacing the term prostitute with the term sex worker to separate sex workers from dirt and disease
and instead legitimize them as a social category engaged in an income generating occupation (Uretsky,
2014). Sex work is commonly thought to be associated with dirt and disease. The public health field
has used sex work as a behavioral category which is useful for targeting a population determined to be
at high risk for HIV infection. This approach however is discriminatory against sex work and has torn
sex workers away from the idea that they are actual workers with an actual occupation, to disease
ridden and risk factors. Sex can be considered both work for men and women. Because sex work is
often associated with disease, as are sex workers, they are branded, and have a reputation related to
immoral behavior which leads to stigma and discrimination. Popular accounts of sex work tend to
present prostitution as a product of the economy or as sex workers having psychological problems,
lending to the narrative of sex workers as passive and as victims exploited and coerced into sex work.
This paper takes a look at the lives of sex workers, male, female, and also transgender people, and the
similarities between them, but also some differences as these cannot be completely ignored or
overlooked.

Twilight Moms, By Stephenie Meyer s Twilight Books And...
Living in the United States in 2016, one is familiar with the fandom spurred from Stephenie Meyer s
Twilight books and the subsequent Twilight movies. Twilight Moms, a controversial sector of the
fandom composed of adult female fans, have garnered attention in recent years. One of the most well
known photographs of Twilight Moms captures the fans emotions at a 2009 Twilight Event (Buckner).
However, what strikes viewers most is not the emotions of the women, but rather their age; the
subjects of the image are not tweens and teens, but adult women. The visual rhetoric argues that
Twilight s appeal is not exclusive to young adults; it also encompasses older women. The media
claims that Twilight Moms are anti feminist women who refuse to grow up. However, the media s
biased accusations are simply not true. In all reality, Twilight Moms are a group of women that relate
to Twilight s protagonist and seek bonding experiences with their daughters as well as an escape from
the monotony of everyday life. So what exactly constitutes a Twilight Mom? The term Twilight Moms
was first coined in December of 2007 when Lisa Hansen launched the Twilight Moms MySpace page
(Brodesser akner). According to Hansen, she originally created Twilight Moms for married women
and mothers; however, that definition has since changed (Hare). Today, Twilight Moms is a more
inclusive group consisting of any female fan of Twilight beyond her teen years. Because Twilight
Moms are grown women

Houston Bully Case Study
The Houston Rockets are 21 7 and in third place in the Western Conference. Their all world superstar,
James Harden, is among the NBA s leaders in points (27.7), while he also leads the Association in
assists (11.8). There are many factors that have contributed to Houston s success this season, but the
team s progress can ultimately be traced back to the moves made by Rockets general manager Daryl
Morey in the offseason. After infighting and chemistry issues plagued the Rockets during the past few
seasons, they decided not to re sign Dwight Howard after three seasons in Houston. The move has
paid major dividends, as Howard fancied himself as somewhat of a post savant who required touches,
space and his teammates to treat him like the superstar he thought himself to be. Consequently, the
Rockets offense became a your turn my turn dance between Harden and Howard, which not only
frustrated their teammates and members of the organization, but fans as well. As a member of the
Orlando Magic from 2004 2012, Howard made a name for himself as a menacing defender with

One Kind Of Officer Theme
Throughout Bierce s many short stories, he focuses on many themes. Two of these themes are fate and
the incapability of senior officers. In two stories, these themes feature prominently. In both, junior
officers are forced to obey the orders of their commander without question. The actions of the junior
officers often lead to a fateful conclusion. In One Kind of Officer, Bierce presents the story of Captain
Ransome, a Union artillery captain. At the outset, Ransome is instructed: it is not permitted to you to
know anything. It is sufficient that you obey my order which permit me to repeat. If you perceive any
movement of troops in your front you are to open fire (105). As Ransome returns to his battery, a thick
fog closed in about him like a visible doom (105). The mist had isolated him [Captain Ransome] as
completely as if he hand been in the heart of the desert (108). When news comes from the pickets that
the enemy is approaching, Captain Ransome looks deeply into the fog. A slight pallor came into his
face, a slight compression affected the lines of his lips (109). This slight show of emotion shows that
Ransome knew that the approaching soldiers were in fact not Confederates, but a Union brigade.
Under orders, Ransome has no choice but to commence firing. When Lieutenant Price protests
Ransome s actions, Ransome repeats General Cameron s orders: it is not permitted to you to know
anything. It is sufficient that you obey my orders (111). When

  • 2. Foreshadowing In Bible All things considered, God always had in mind one plan for salvation. Since, the promise made to Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:15 were He says, And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel the devil had tried to deceive us with the biggest lie, that there are many ways to come to God. As a result, most religions view God as a being that modifies according to peoples standards, peoples view point, peoples believe, and their own interpretation of the Bible. However, that is not how God runs the universe. In fact, the main reason for God to establish the temple among the Jews was in order to serve as a prefiguring of the coming of the perfect lamb Jesus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another key point, is that every sacrifice ceremony was providing just a temporary covering of once sin, and could never take it away forever. On the other hand, the foreshadowing of the perfect Lamb, would come to remove sin forever. That is what the temple represented, that there is one way to heaven, the lamb slain, Jesus Christ. Now, the time has come to have faith in Jesus Christ for salvation of our souls. The temple is no longer needed. In effect, no longer we need to wait for the foreshadow of Jesus Christ, we no longer need to slain a sheep to cover our sins, we no longer need to seek God on an altar, as he dwells within us through the Holy Spirit. God has never given us a spirit of fear, rather a spirit of faith in Jesus Christ. Under those circumstances, when Jesus declared, I am the way, is the reason why Jews hated Him. As a result, they were intolerance with Him and Christians, until this day. The Bible speaks of Jesus Christ becoming the stumbling rock for the Jews by not accepting his vicarious death. In fact, the incredible thing about Jesus is that He is the way, the truth and the life no one comes to the father but through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. My Personal Narrative My personal narrative It was a normal summer morning, the sun came up, and I woke up and got ready for the day, but it wouldn t be any normal summer day. It all started when the same summer morning, when my dad asked, Hey Gavin, you want to go to the Makers Fair at Union Station? I didn t know what he was talking about, so I asked him a few questions about what the makers fair was. He told me that it was a fair where people made products and technology. My dad stated, I wouldn t ask you if I didn t think you would like it. I was sure whether to say yes or no. It sounded cool because I has an interest, but I was a little worried that I would let my hopes up too high and be upset when it turned out to not be as good as I expected. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was amazed at the fact that this kind of technology was at the fair, yet I was a little hesitant about going to it first. If I knew that there was stuff this interesting at it, I would have been the one asking to go there. Believe it or not, this wouldn t be the most interesting thing I would see that day. After exploring for a while, my parents and I moved on to the next section. One of the most interesting things we saw was a rover made by students from the University of Missouri Science and Technology. A rover is a remote controlled robot on wheels designed to help humans complete certain tasks. Rovers have many different designs. This rover had six black wheels that were very flimsy. Above the wheels was a rectangular compartment that held the computers and power supply. The was also a pole with a camera on top, not a typical camera, but a small rectangular cube with flat lenses. I also a robotic arm on the front of the rover used to pick up move objects. Since it had a similar design to the rovers that NASA has sent to Mars, I became interested in it since I was passionate about space travel. I examined the rover for a while, and then one of the students, noticing how I was interested in the rover came over, and asked: Do you have any questions? Wanting to continue my observations without being interrupted, I said, I don t have any questions right now. However, I heard my mom and talking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Why Computers Don T Belong In The Classroom Summary As the technology advances, more utilities become available to us that make our lives easier. This correlates to the short essay Why Computers Don t Belong in the Classroom by Clifford Stoll. Stoll argues that the high usage of technology in schools gives students the incentive have weak thinking skills and not focus in class. I agree with the argument of Clifford Stoll as the usage of technology simply motivates students to procrastinate, rely heavily on online resources and lose interest in class activities. Technology provides a distraction for students as they would rather watch TV or play video games. Clifford Stoll argues, If kids watch too much TV, why bring multimedia video systems into schools. Stoll implies that the schools are allowing students to expect some sort of multimedia in their classes. Showing videos during class may help some of the visual learners, but most students consider this as a free time and not focus. Furthermore, Stoll states that teachers show videos during class due to their lack of information. In this case, the teachers should prepare beforehand and keep the students interested. ... In Steve s case he is being defamed in spoken word and written word by his opponent, Marcus Unwell. Steve should sue his opponent for slander and label per se, as Unwell s false comments caused Steve s integrity to be called into question; consequently, he lost his bid for office and faced financial hardship as people began to boycott his company. Unwell s comments fall into the category of slander per se as he alleged during speeches that Steve was an incompetent, communist whose company sold defective products; this statement directly seeks to damage Steve s business reputation. Wood is an very important material for constructions. Talking about wood, the first thing that comes to my mind is the Forbidden City. • 9. Glutamine Vs Azide The comparison of Azidoglutamine with Azide 1 on cell binding gave a clearer picture of the competition between L glutamine and glutamine analogues. The activity of Azide 1 was shown to be more tremendous than Azidoglutamine although it was not as good as Azide 2. The glutamine uptake inhibition was mostly observed in 4T1 RLR and HepG2 luc2 cells. These data suggest a different binding mechanism of Azide 1 to cells. The good effect on the 4T1 RLR cell again indicates the potential involvement of systems A or L in the uptake of Azide 1. The difference of Azide 1 binding affinity between HT1080 luc2 and HepG2 luc2 might propose a lesser importance of the system ASCT2 in this case. Both of the cell types were found to express ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was shown in section 3.5 that Azide 2 significantly inhibited the growth of all three cell types: 4T1 RLR, HT1080 luc2 and HepG2 luc2. Azide 2 which was shown as the most potent competitor of glutamine uptake tested in this study also killed the cells with IC50 values at 0.1 0.2mM. As previously mentioned, only a very low concentration of Azide 2 from 5 16µM was effective enough to reduce the glutamine uptake by these cell types to a half of maximal level. The mechanism by which the cell growth was disrupted quickly is still unclear. However, the extreme interference of glutamine uptake should be the first point to exploit the action of Azide 2. Then, more experiments can be subsequently carried out to investigate the killing effect on the intracellular environment. • 11. Financial Statements Measure The Liquidity And The... Introduction The financial statements measure the liquidity and the strength of a business. On the balance sheet; offsets calculate the real value of accounts receivables and fixed assets. Uncollectible accounts receivables and depreciation reflect the offsets reported on financial statements. In accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); two methods compute the uncollectible accounts receivable expense. Just like uncollectible accounts offset the value of accounts receivables; so do depreciation expenses counteract the value of fixed assets. Also called contra accounts, the journal entries accumulate and are then recorded on the balance sheet. Part One Uncollected Receivables The first technique is the write off method. Small companies with a small number of uncollected accounts receivables, or, bad debts; utilize this process. Once a customer account becomes worthless, a write off occurs. Immediately, the write off is recorded in the journal; applied directly to the uncollectible customer account. The first step in this journal entry; debit the customer s accounts receivable account. In the next entry; credit the allowance for doubtful accounts. With this process, an accumulation of entries are completed during the period, as customer accounts become uncollectible. The book Financial Accounting (Duchac, Reeve, Warren, 2014) states: At the end of a period, Allowance for Doubtful Accounts will normally have a balance. Second, the ... Mammalian Biology 81.2 (2015): 185 88. Web. In your own words, what was the main focus of the article? There are multiple interpretations concerning how phylogenetic trees are built and the understanding of the phylogenetic species concept. A common mistake when it comes to interpreting phylogenetic trees, which portray evolutionary relationships among taxa. Generally it is viewed as a ladder of progress, yet it is not so simple and is often the most relevant error to occur among reports. Species delimitation additionally plays a similar role in this article, in that it is misused when providing evidence of species being divided; however, it is much harder to understand the varying outlooks. Overall, the article focused on these mistakes un order to provide practical guidelines for phylogenetic and taxonomic papers. In your opinion, which was the importance of Figure 1? Explain why. Figure one is a correct representation of a phylogenetic tree. It is important to the article due to the fact that it is a visual that can be understood and compared to. The article focuses on the fact that phylogenetic trees are generally incorrect due to a wrong impression. We hear sayings such as this all the time, yet we live in a society that contradicts this idea constantly. There is no doubt that due to media, the way teens see themselves has changed. The media is setting unrealistic beauty standards, which influences everyone, and this is having a detrimental affect on adolescents. The impact of media on teenagers is appalling. These beauty standards are negatively affecting teenage girls as well as teenage boys, and due to the prominence of this issue, several efforts are being made to combat this. Firstly, the media has greatly affected the way teenage girls now look at themselves and specifically at their bodies. This is encouraged by the ideal body image that is created by the media. For some reason, the ideal image is portrayed as a skinny, tall, size 2 model with perfect skin. And if you don t have that, there s hope yet because having an hourglass body is equally appreciated. These are not realistic images as no more than 15% of women actually look like this. Then there is the concept of fat versus thick. This is the idea that having extra fat below your waist is known as thick but having extra fat above your waist is considered fat . In today s media being thick is a compliment yet no one wants to be fat. Many people don t understand how real this problem actually is. In fact, celebrities such as Emma Watson have talked about how they continuously feel pressured by the media to look a certain way and she says that when she didn t meet those expectations, she would fall into anxiety. She says, If that s how I feel and I get to be the person who s on the cover of those magazines how s anyone else meant to cope? This is proof that the ideal body image is not realistic, even for celebrities, and due to this, it is almost impossible for fashion companies to find models that fit this standard. So, many labels and companies have resorted to using a process called airbrushing. This involves retouching photos to remove what the media refers to as flaws and it can also be used to change or enhance the image. These transforms photos using programs ... This theory aims to assist in society s responses in how we intervene when it comes to drug abusers as well as how the use of drug taking harms society itself. Such designed strategies aim to reduce and eventually stop substance abuse. Harm reduction methods can come in the form of intervention programmes (such as rehabilitation programmes), or access to health clinics and support groups that include needle exchange services for drug injectors and these aim to lessen the after effects that are linked with substance abuse and criminal activities. • 31. Sex Workers And Sex Work Essay The term sex work dates to 1973, when the organization Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics proposed replacing the term prostitute with the term sex worker to separate sex workers from dirt and disease and instead legitimize them as a social category engaged in an income generating occupation (Uretsky, 2014). Sex work is commonly thought to be associated with dirt and disease. The public health field has used sex work as a behavioral category which is useful for targeting a population determined to be at high risk for HIV infection. This approach however is discriminatory against sex work and has torn sex workers away from the idea that they are actual workers with an actual occupation, to disease ridden and risk factors. Sex can be considered both work for men and women. Because sex work is often associated with disease, as are sex workers, they are branded, and have a reputation related to immoral behavior which leads to stigma and discrimination. Popular accounts of sex work tend to present prostitution as a product of the economy or as sex workers having psychological problems, lending to the narrative of sex workers as passive and as victims exploited and coerced into sex work. This paper takes a look at the lives of sex workers, male, female, and also transgender people, and the similarities between them, but also some differences as these cannot be completely ignored or overlooked. • 32. Twilight Moms, By Stephenie Meyer s Twilight Books And... Living in the United States in 2016, one is familiar with the fandom spurred from Stephenie Meyer s Twilight books and the subsequent Twilight movies. Twilight Moms, a controversial sector of the fandom composed of adult female fans, have garnered attention in recent years. One of the most well known photographs of Twilight Moms captures the fans emotions at a 2009 Twilight Event (Buckner). However, what strikes viewers most is not the emotions of the women, but rather their age; the subjects of the image are not tweens and teens, but adult women. The visual rhetoric argues that Twilight s appeal is not exclusive to young adults; it also encompasses older women. The media claims that Twilight Moms are anti feminist women who refuse to grow up. However, the media s biased accusations are simply not true. In all reality, Twilight Moms are a group of women that relate to Twilight s protagonist and seek bonding experiences with their daughters as well as an escape from the monotony of everyday life. So what exactly constitutes a Twilight Mom? The term Twilight Moms was first coined in December of 2007 when Lisa Hansen launched the Twilight Moms MySpace page (Brodesser akner). According to Hansen, she originally created Twilight Moms for married women and mothers; however, that definition has since changed (Hare). Today, Twilight Moms is a more inclusive group consisting of any female fan of Twilight beyond her teen years. Because Twilight Moms are grown women ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Houston Bully Case Study The Houston Rockets are 21 7 and in third place in the Western Conference. Their all world superstar, James Harden, is among the NBA s leaders in points (27.7), while he also leads the Association in assists (11.8). There are many factors that have contributed to Houston s success this season, but the team s progress can ultimately be traced back to the moves made by Rockets general manager Daryl Morey in the offseason. After infighting and chemistry issues plagued the Rockets during the past few seasons, they decided not to re sign Dwight Howard after three seasons in Houston. The move has paid major dividends, as Howard fancied himself as somewhat of a post savant who required touches, space and his teammates to treat him like the superstar he thought himself to be. Consequently, the Rockets offense became a your turn my turn dance between Harden and Howard, which not only frustrated their teammates and members of the organization, but fans as well. As a member of the Orlando Magic from 2004 2012, Howard made a name for himself as a menacing defender with ungodly athleticism and a force in pick and rolls. Former Magic point guard Jameer Nelson had career years with Howard, who set picks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 35. One Kind Of Officer Theme Throughout Bierce s many short stories, he focuses on many themes. Two of these themes are fate and the incapability of senior officers. In two stories, these themes feature prominently. In both, junior officers are forced to obey the orders of their commander without question. The actions of the junior officers often lead to a fateful conclusion. In One Kind of Officer, Bierce presents the story of Captain Ransome, a Union artillery captain. At the outset, Ransome is instructed: it is not permitted to you to know anything. It is sufficient that you obey my order which permit me to repeat. If you perceive any movement of troops in your front you are to open fire (105). As Ransome returns to his battery, a thick fog closed in about him like a visible doom (105). The mist had isolated him [Captain Ransome] as completely as if he hand been in the heart of the desert (108). When news comes from the pickets that the enemy is approaching, Captain Ransome looks deeply into the fog. A slight pallor came into his face, a slight compression affected the lines of his lips (109). This slight show of emotion shows that Ransome knew that the approaching soldiers were in fact not Confederates, but a Union brigade. Under orders, Ransome has no choice but to commence firing. When Lieutenant Price protests Ransome s actions, Ransome repeats General Cameron s orders: it is not permitted to you to know anything. It is sufficient that you obey my orders (111). When ...
