Tsunami And Natural Disasters
Natural disasters happen all the time around the world; some are more devastating than others.
Tsunamis tear apart cities like they are paper. There are tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, and all sorts
of other disasters but per square foot tsunamis are the most powerful. Tsunami s are known to be very
fast waves, but speeds on average can be around five hundred miles per hour or eight hundred and five
kilometers per hour. Tsunami s will not only be powerful, but they will tear and demolish anything in
their way. Tsunami s have been around for a very long time. Eight thousand years ago in Sicily, a
volcano caused an avalanche that crashed into the Mediterranean Sea at two hundred miles per hour. A
volcano also triggered movement in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The total economic cost could reach up to $35 billion, from a bank estimate and making it the costliest
natural disaster in world history. The number of confirmed deaths is 15,894 as of June 10, 2016.
According to the reconstruction agency more than 2,500 people are still reported missing. After the
tsunami scientist drilled into the subduction zone after the earthquake. They then discovered that there
was a thin slippery clay layer lying at the fault. The researchers think that this is what clearly allowed
the two plates to slide in incredible distance, some 164 feet or 50 m starting the enormous earthquake
and tsunami. Less than an hour after the earthquake first of many tsunami waves hit Japan s coastline.
Heights were measured up to 128 feet and traveled inland as far as 6 miles. The tsunami flooded for an
estimated area of approximately 217 square miles in Japan. There have been many major s tsunamis,
but nothing to this caliber and to realize it has only happened six years ago. Underwater bomb testing
has been a very disclosed topic. On the 22nd of September, a North Korean official has hinted about
conducting a nuclear test at sea, which would have severe environmental concerns. The North Korean
leader didn t elaborate on the nature of this event, but his foreign minister provided a hint that North
Korea might test a hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean. North Korea has so far conducted nuclear
tests in underground chambers and ballistic missile tests in

Questions On Financial Earnings Management
Prior studies (e.g., Burgstahler and Dichev 1997; Degeorge, Patel and Zeckhauser 1999) identify three
earnings thresholds managers seek to achieve when they report financial statements: avoiding negative
earnings, avoiding earnings declines, and avoiding negative earnings surprises. A large number of
studies use these three earnings thresholds to test earnings management in various research settings.
This dissertation investigates another potential earnings management threshold, peer performance,
which has been largely ignored in the extant literature.
Both Burgstahler and Dichev (1997) and Degeorge et al. (1999) explain threshold driven earnings
management behavior by referring to the prospect theory (Kahneman and Tversky 1979), which
suggests that for a given increase in wealth, the corresponding increase in value is the greatest when
the increase in wealth moves from negative to positive territory relative to a reference point (viz., zero
earnings, zero change in earnings or zero forecast error). While they do not specifically explain the
formulation of reference points or the usage of other reference points beyond those extensively
investigated three earnings thresholds, they imply the existence of other reference points (Burgstahler
and Dichev 1997), ). and They also suggest that if other reference points are used either by corporate
boards or investors, and if those reference points are reflected in the executives reward schedulesor
compensation contracts, executives

The Epic Poem, The Iliad by Homer
Homer s epic poem, The Iliad, is about the battles and events during the Trojan War between King
Agamemnon and the warrior Achilles. Mortality and Immortality is the main crucial distinction
between humans and gods. That being said, another interesting thing about them is how similar they
are to human beings. They make mistakes, become jealous, and get their feelings hurt unlike our
modern conception of god as infinite, omniscient and omnibenevolent. The Iliad literature on the gods
does not display such of what we perceive how a god should be nowadays. Throughout the literature,
the gods and humans may have similarities, but the role of the gods reflects the relationship with
humans.
In the Iliad, the Gods seem to see the Human people as a game and toys, that they are not that
important. When the war between Menelaus and Paris, the God s was an audience from above
wagering bets on who would win over Helen. The gods did not care a bit about them. Zeus and many
other Gods sat in council conferring across Olympus golden floor as noble Hebe poured them rounds
of nectar. They lifted golden beakers pledging each other warmly, gazing down on Troy... (Book Four,
1 4), The Gods watch the people of Troy fight for their lives as they gather a party. This is different
from many cultures because if the Gods see something negative happen, they execute something to try
to fix it instead of enjoying the people s pain and suffering. At this point of The Iliad, the Gods that we

Robin Williams Most Popular Comedic Techniques
There was a man who went to a party. He brought a smile to everyone s faces, cracking jokes and
jumping into conversations (Smith, 2014). That man was Robin Williams. You ve only got a little
spark of madness. You mustn t lose it (Google Quotes, 1), was one of Robin Williams most famous
quotes, and he never lost his madness. Robin Williams roles and stand up acts made his cat and mouse
style one of the most popular comedic techniques in the acting world. Robin Williams created a style
of acting that became known as his own. His comedic style of improvisation and poking fun at serious
matters became iconic (Itzkoff, 2014). Robin Williams created many shows and movies for the

Oscar Wao Themes
The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz is about a Dominican family who lives in
Paterson New Jersey and they have been through many tribulations in life. In the novel Fuku and love
were mainly the reason why the characters got their self in situations they could not overcome. The
novel is overall about finding love and to overcome the family curse. Both Fuku and love work hand
in hand to shape Beli s and Oscar s journey through life, as if Fuku was playing its role through the
misfortunes of love. It was believed that Fuku was introduced on the arrival of the Europeans. Many

What is the main thing that a soccer player wants in his/her game? A perfect pair of soccer shoe for his
game. Shoes that give them full control over the ball with a perfect accuracy that help him to soccer a
goal. In my opinion, Nike did an excellent job in making their advertisement about their new T90 III
laser soccer shoe. The main theme of the Nike T90 III shoes in the advertisement, Nike Hit the Target,
is no matter how good you play or how famous you are in the soccer world. You still need a pair of
shoe that will help in gaining control over the soccer ball and give you accuracy with speed. In a

DESCRIPTION
Nike is promoting the T90 Laser III soccer boots in Hit the Target, an online advertising campaign
went live on television during the Carling Cup semifinal between Manchester United and Manchester
City. Wayne Rooney, top scorer of the Premier League, wearing the brightly colored green and red
soccer boots, takes on the challenges of optical illusions produced by laser lights, which was
controlled by Liverpool s Fernando Torres. A dark room is shown, which becomes a goal kick practice
area and a red LED strip appears, which becomes their goal post. When Rooney tries to hit a goal, a
green colored laser light appears, and cuts down the soccer ball in pieces. The whole back ground is
black. Then the main focus of the camera goes to the new T90 III shoes by Nike. Techno Dub Step
music makes the ad livelier. While Rooney tries to shoot the ball towards the goal post, Torres tries to
stop the ball with the laser system, which he is controlling with the help of computer in the
background. Rooney hits the soccer ball on the control panel of the laser to shut it down. Torres take
its revenge by making a four layer

Aphra Behn s Oroonoko as the First Modern Novel Essay
During the seventeenth century, the art of writing was like uncharted waters for women, in which most
who ventured were rendered pathetically unsuccessful. No matter the quality, publications written by
women were typically ridiculed by their male contenders. However, a handful of women defied the
common standards and were prosperous; one of these was Aprha Behn. Virgina Wolf says of Behn, All
women together ought to let flowers fall upon the tomb of Aphra Behn, for it was she who earned
them the right to speak their minds. Although she was a woman of outstanding accomplishments, one
of her publications truly glistens. Oroonoko (1688), the epic tale of a heroic black slave, has often
been dubbed the first modern novel in that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His face was not that of brown, rusty black which most of that nation are, but a perfect ebony, or
polished jet. His eyes were the most awful that could be seen, and very piercing; the white of them
being like snow, as were his teeth. His nose was rising and Roman, instead of African and flat. His
mouth, the finest shape that could be seen; far from those great turned lips that were natural to most
Negroes. (Behn 80 81)
Furthermore, the female narrator present is yet another uncanny character in Oroonoko because
influencial women were not typically presented in literature in the seventeenth century. Janet Todd
describes the narrator as, a watcher and a listener, a recipient of gossip and news, commonsensical in
her comments, but not omniscient and not able to deliver poetic justice in a place of real life
happening or to provide a simple and single version of people and events (19). Likewise, great care is
taken to focus on a specific location in which the tale takes place. It is clearly stated that the novel
takes place in a colony in America, called Surinam, in the West Indies (Behn 75). The story goes on to
examine the place of the main character s birth, Coramantien. Thus, Aphra Behn demonstrates
particularity in her concise depiction of characters and their environments.
The theme is a major component of a novel. Not only does it gives the work purpose, it also produces
concert and unanimity. Paul Hunter says, The

Water Fiji Research Paper
WATER
Fiji, Dasani, and Zephyrhills
Emily Brynn Davison

Abstract
Fiji, Dasani, Zephyrhills
In my project I put different brands of water into identical cups and ask my participants to put them in
order from best to worst after trying each one. I hope to learn if manufacturing water a different way
affects the taste of the water. I wanted to do this project, because when you think about water you don
t think about different kinds of water so this project opens your mind to just a daily need.
Fiji Water. Fiji water is a popular brand of water that takes a specific process. The water is from rain
that has been filtered through layers of volcanic rock and slowly gathering the natural minerals and
electrolytes that give Fiji water a soft, smooth taste. (Fiji Water official website) After being filtered
the water gathers in a natural artesian aquifer that is deeply underground in the Fiji Islands so the
water won t be contaminated with elements. The rainfalls are also purified by the winds that travel
across the Island, because unlike most winds these don t carry any acid rain and environmental
pollutants (https://www.leaf.tv/articles/facts about fiji water/). It is never touched by human hands,
which shows that Fiji s water is clean and stays clean because bacteria from hands is never transferred
to the water. Fiji s Nutritional Label says it s 93mg of silica per liter, 18mg of calcium per liter, 15mg
of magnesium per liter, 152mg of salt. This all adds to a pH of 7.7, which means Fiji water is filled
with oxygen (altered states.net). The human body is suppose to have around 7.0 to a 7.4pH balance.

Social Anxiety Disorder And Social Disorders
When people hear the word mental disorder most times their minds are turned towards people who are
different or they automatically think of somebody pretending something is wrong. The term social
anxiety is overlooked and seen as just severe shyness. The people that view it this way are heartless
people who view mental health illnesses as diseases that are made up and shouldn t even exist.
However mental illnesses do exist and they should not be overlooked. Similar to diabetes, Social
Anxiety Disorder is a disease that is very significant and plays a huge role in someone s health, but
can often be overlooked. Nonetheless just because something isn t seen doesn t mean that it isn t there.
Social Anxiety Disorder is a mental illnesses and it needs to be recognized that Social Anxiety
Disorder isn t just extreme shyness. According to Thomas A. Richards, the definition of Social
Anxiety disorder is the fear and the anxiety of being negatively judged and evaluated by other people
(Richards). It isn t uncommon for people to feel like they are being judged or evaluated by people.
More often than not people are judging and evaluating people they see every day. Judging by first
impressions happens all day everyday and everyone has done it. Sure enough, everyone has had these
feelings at one point or another and that is why it is often confused with just being extremely shy.
However, Social Anxiety is a chronic disease and unlike shyness it can not just be overcome. This
makes the question arise of what exactly it is that triggers someone to be susceptible to Social Anxiety
Disorder. Well, there are many factors that contribute in triggering Social Anxiety disorder. Some of
which include, the overuse of technology, they way parents raise their children, and also having been
extremely embarrassed at one point or another. According to Joseph Walsh who is an Associate
Professor at the school of Social Work says, Symptoms of the anxiety may begin in childhood (often
before age five) with another risk period just before puberty. The anxious child may demonstrate a
fear of strangers as early as seven months, and behavioral inhibitions may be observed at 21 to 31
months (Walsh). As children are growing and

My Soccer Career
As soon as I step on the field with my team, the crowd roaring, I know my job is to entertain others
and that is where my soccer career comes in play. I have experienced a lot in my soccer career, I know
this is what I want to do with my life because I get to entertain a lot of people and I have a passion for
the game. One day I was watching a Real Madrid game vs Athletico Madrid in the Champions League
final. A guy named Cristiano Ronaldo was playing, I had a passion for soccer before that game but I
did research on Cristiano Ronaldo, I learned very quickly that I wanted to be just like him. The game
of soccer has a lot of emotion to it and I am a very emotional person, that s why my personality fits
one of the greatest soccer players ever said I learned all about life with a ball at my feet (Ronaldinho).
This career is one of the only ways I will try so hard in life, it is my #1 priority to play soccer, that is
what draws me to this career. My other career is a video editor, because without movies and other
entertaining things would not be around. Soccer inspired me to make soccer video edits. I have been
doing that for 2 years, I fit for this job because I am very good with editing software and I am
motivated by it. For both of these careers no special clothing is required, except in soccer I have to
wear athletic clothing. The lifestyle of a video editor is easy for the most part. All they have to do is
make video edits for any company they are a part of. According

At Mornington, A Poem by Gwen Harwood
Memorable ideas are evident in Harwood s poetry. In her poem, At Mornington , she considers the
philosophical idea that the passing of time leads to gaining of wisdom. Harwood shows that growth
and development are a critical part of defining our individuality. She has effectively used poetic
techniques such as construction; vivid imagery and the context of her own life to explore this idea and
contributed to the textual integrity of the piece. External contextual readings and values of the poem
have illuminated the significance of the piece in asserting the value of friendship and relationships,
and presented various ideas such as the inevitability of death, the significance that past events and
memories play in shaping present perception as well as the defining of individuality through growth
and development. Together, this contributes to the memorability of the poem. At Mornington is variant
in structure; it is linear, circular and episodic, containing recurring motifs. The lack of a rhyme scheme
displays the train of thought nature of the poem, presenting the poem as a reflective journey for the
persona. Experiences with family and friends are tied with the poem, starting with a first witnessing of
the sea and then introspectively reflecting on water, memory and death. The episodic recollection of
the sea displays the personas reliance on memories to convey changes in perspective. Thoughts of
mortality are developed during a meeting among avenues of the dead with

Customer Orientation Of Airport Service Quality
Introduction
The aviation industry is one that is consistently changing and the demand in air travel is on the rise.
With the rise in air travel, airports need to be able to handle the traffic. But the problem is that service
quality in an airport declines when the airport has reached its design peak hour or even exceeded it.
This simply means the airport cannot handle the amount of passengers it has thus customer
satisfaction decreases.
Today s air travelers have meaningful choices among airports and there is an increasing urgency
among airport marketers to differentiate themselves by meeting the needs of customers better than the
competition. While passengers perception of airport service quality is only one of several variables
(e.g. routes, scheduling, location and prices) that contribute to overall airport attractiveness, it is
nevertheless an important variable because of the increasing importance of a customer orientation to
competitive advantage in this industry.(Fodness Murray, 2007)
Solving it would result in a more efficient airport which can reduce the amount of delays at an airport
whether is from aircraft landing or taking off or passenger traffic within the terminal thus giving the
airport an advantage over the competition by becoming a preferred airport.
Literature Review
Airports are a place where passengers encounter a bundle of tangible and intangible services in what
Bitner (1992) has characterized as an elaborate services cape . The

John Yossarian Quotes
John Yossarian
Yossarian at first appears to be a paranoid and weak character. He believes that everyone is trying to

to survive, and to escape the military.
They re trying to kill me (9).
Yossarian learns that Orr is alive and decides to run away to Sweden to escape the war.
Through Yossarian s character, Heller satirizes the fact that not everybody involved in war is a hero.
Although Yossarian contributes to the war effort and does his share, deep inside he is truly traumatized
by the war and cannot bring himself to be brave. Unlike the others who put themselves on the line in
battle, Yossarian s paranoia causes him to hide in hospitals, pretending to suffer from sickness.

to take control of Cathcart s job without anybody noticing, and he does not admit to it because he is
afraid of being blamed for anything wrong.
Clevinger
Clevinger is an optimistic character, which causes Yossarian to dislike him due to their opposite
personalities. Yossarian believes him to be crazy because he does not believe that everyone is out to
kill him, while Clevinger believes that Yossarian isolates himself from others too much.
As far back as Yossarian could recall, he explained to Clevinger with a patient smile, somebody was

Hellinger satirizes those who find positivity in time of war. Clevinger, ironically, kept a positive

The Importance Of The Japanese And Japanese Internment
In the year 1942, two months after Pearl Harbor was bombed, President Franklin D. Roosevelt was
seen obligated to issue order 9066. Political leaders and press commenters insisted on removing
Japanese and Japanese Americans because, according to them, they were a threat to this nation.
Executive order 9066 allowed US Military to move people of Japanese descent, or anyone that posed a
threat, into relocation camps . Military officials managed to relocate 110,000 Japanese, including
citizens, into these camps. The internment camps were kept open, up until the year 1946. Most of
these required relocation of Japanese and Japanese Americans happened in the western states like
California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. There were also relocation
centers in the south, but only in Arkansas. Throughout that period, Japanese Americans remained loyal
and tried demonstrating their loyalty to the United States. They did so by abiding to the ridiculous
laws they were ordered to follow and by assisting in the war effort. It was questioned if whether the
treatment to this race of people was fair since a lot of their rights as citizens of the United States were
taken from them just because of their ethnic background. Despite these questions, in 1944, the
Supreme Court ruled that the executive order 9066 was constitutional. They stated that the rights of
Japanese Americans were of less importance than the protection against espionage. Before being

religion trump all: they drive the Vicario brothers to murder, and force the women of the village to
reach unrealistic standards under obscure guidelines. It seems no one is immune to the strength of
these shared beliefs and values. Even normal citizens fall victim to the opinion, their negligence
leaving them as much at fault for Santiago s murder as the very perpetrators themselves. Such
stringent social constructs evident in the village s society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It exists as the driving force behind Santiago s murder, suggesting that compassion is discarded when
honor and respect are at stake. To the people of the fictitious village, honor [is] a brittle value one that
cannot be rescued if harmed (Lipsett Rivera). Such a concept is illustrated through the actions of the
Vicario twins, who stab Santiago to death in cold blood over the honor of their sister. Despite their
open confession, both brothers still claim to be innocent under the idea their crime was, before God
and before men...a matter of honor (49). The religious connotation intertwined with the act of killing
suggests that exacting revenge is reverent, and therefore necessary to keep true to their faith and code
of honor. Furthermore, the parallel structure of the phrase before God and before men furthers the link
between faith and honor. By associating the terms God and men with each other, Marquez reveals that
the notion of humanity is based on religious conviction. Thus, the only way to retain status as a good
human is to follow religious constructs, and in the case of the Vicario brothers, to kill. This idea is
furthered in the aftermath of the murder, when Marquez asserts that in killing Santiago, the brothers
Vicario had proved their status as men (80). As with religion, honor itself is constantly emphasized as
a framework for social hierarchy in the village. In killing Santiago, the brothers cemented not only
their faith, but their rank in society as

Analysis Of The Supervisor s Claims About Jeanette Landis
In order to confirm that the supervisor s claims about Jeanette Landis are true, I would need to discuss
her performance, in regards to her sales, with the sales department or the department that is in charge
of this certain information. Even though Mr. White accuses Jeanette of not reaching her sales goals, all
the facts and data need to be reviewed in order to determine if the information provided is accurate in
terms of her performance. The human resource director cannot assume anything, approach all
situations with caution, and be unbiased when determining the best action to take. When firing and
employee, the human resource manager should be consistent and thorough when investigating the
claims in order to prevent a discrimination lawsuit (Dunn, 1991, p. 26). Therefore, the sales records of
Jeanette Landis need to be reviewed in order to determine if the allegations present by Mr. White are
accurate. When taking with the supervisor of the sales department, I would want a copy of Jeanette s
sales as well as a few other employees sales records in order to accurately compare the sales data
information. The sales supervisor should give a timeline for the data, so that I could fully comprehend
her sales. For example, the supervisor needs to give me some insight into how many months the sales
records are for; whether it be two months or six months. This information is critical because Mr.
White claims that she has not meet her sales goal in six months, so I would

Descriptive Essay On Leo
Up in the twinkling night sky of the cosmos marvels a constellation of a Nemean Lion that I
wholeheartedly relate to. In astrology, the fifth zodiac sign, Leo, originates from this constellation. As
a July 27 baby, I am a Leo. During my youth, while buried under blankets, I fervently read horoscopes
and zodiac personality descriptions in magazines. On a similar note, many children struggle to
decipher their own identity and luckily, exploring my zodiac sign tremendously helped me
comprehend the inner workings of my mind. Learning about my zodiac sign was a remarkable
comfort, it electrified me that I was the paradigm of a Leo. In between the words of astrology blogs,
the answers to the what and why for my own idiosyncrasies were revealed. Those revelations of a
proud fiery zodiac sign manifest as my own characteristics. From my mannerisms to my physique, the
Leo archetype illustrates who I am.
Since the symbol for Leo is a mighty lion, boasting a voluminous mane is, of course, a stereotype of
those born under this sign. One of my most distinguishable features is my silky, straight, waist length,
black hair. Whether it s because of favorable genetics or astrological luck, I frequently receive
compliments on my luscious locks. Specifically, I ll be sitting in class, leaning back, and ruffling the
tangles out of my hair. Karen, your hair is absolutely to die for! my classmate, Humzah, has said in
response.
With hair so beautiful that others are envious, Leos, more likely

Pro Forma Statement
Using Budgets and Pro Forma Statements to Plan Funding:
The pro forma statements and budgets were instrumental in determining what additional measures
needed to be taken to ensure progress within the company. By reviewing the pro forma statements I
was able to determine that I needed to raise the price of my product due to the fact that the target
markets had indicated what they would pay for such product and the cost of production was over
whelming the income received from sales. After the first quarter I was able to decide that changes
needed to be made to not only the price of each product but additional products needed to be added to
meet the needs of specific target areas. I was also able to determine by analyzing the budget ... Show

Lean operations emphasizes the understanding of the customer by producing units only as they are
needed. As individual units are manufactured this reduces inventory drastically. This also would
reduce any waste of products created and not sold. Both of these processes would have been a benefit
to my company as there were several units of certain brands that were not desirable or meeting
customer needs. This caused a loss of revenue by having units that were produced but not sold. The
lean operations and Just In Time methods would eliminate this problem from the manufacturing side
of my company.
Work Cells Vs. Traditional Straight Line Method:
By utilizing work cells in my manufacturing facility I would have been able to reduce travel distance
in production due to the fact that all equipment in work cells is modular. This allows the work cells to
be easily arranged or moved as needed. The implementation of work cells versus straight line
manufacturing would have been beneficial also because it provides an organized workplace and
reduced space for inventory or production materials. Also by using the work cell method of production
defects would be easily detected early, this is because with work cells products are tested at the end of
each production cycle making it easier to detect and fix any defects that may arise.

The Argument Against The Hip-Hop Group Public Enemy
Imagine a mind changing tour into ghetto life in the United States, the drugs, the violence, the
hopelessness. Think about political movements, riots, cries for change. Think of some of the greatest
modern artists among us. All these ideas stem from, bring awareness of, and originate in classic hip

future artists have cemented Classic hip hop as the most influential music genre of all time.
Classic hip hop s debatable and political content advocates for societal change. The explicit content
which permeated classic hip hop was something that the music industry hadn t experienced yet.

Three Mile Island Essay
Three Mile Island
On March 28, 1979 a series of mechanical, electrical, and human failures led to what has been
described as the worst nuclear power plant accident in the history of the United States. News of the
accident rocked the nation, and its effects were keenly felt by those who lived in the shadow of the
great concrete towers of Three Mile Island.
The accident began about 4:00 a.m. on March 28, 1979, when there was failure in the secondary, non
nuclear section of the plant. The main feedwater pumps stopped running, which was caused by either a
mechanical or electrical failure that prevented the steam generators from removing heat. First the

Because of these voids, the water in the system was redistributed and the pressurizer became full of
water. The level indicator, which tells the operator the amount of coolant capable of heat removal,
incorrectly showed the system was full of water. Because of this the operator stopped adding water.
He did not know that, because of the stuck valve, the indicator can provided false readings.
Because adequate cooling was not available, the nuclear fuel overheated to the point where some of
the zirconium cladding, the long metal tubes or jackets which hold the nuclear fuel pellets reacted with
the water and created hydrogen. This hydrogen was released into the reactor containment building. By
March 30, two days after the start of the chain of events, some hydrogen remained in the primary
coolant system in the vessel surrounding the reactor, forming a hydrogen bubble above the reactor
core. Officials were concerned that if reactor pressure decreased, the hydrogen bubble would expand
and therefore interfere with the flow of cooling water through the core. Over the next few days, the
bubble was reduced by degassing the pressurizer, meaning they adjusting air and water pressure.
Without water to cool it, and with the top of the reactor core uncovered, the main damage to the
reactor occurred two to three hours into the accident. Although no meltdown occurred, in

Time To Dump Time Zone James Gleick Summary
In the article, Time to Dump Time Zones , by James Gleick is saying that even though there are time
zones that we would be better off if we got rid of our times zones to bring unity between countries,
and less confusion allowing for people to never be confused on what time it is in certain countries.
Gleick says that our society does not live in the railroad world anymore that now things are all
network based and the whole world is connected through the touch of our fingers. Such as twitter, and
Facebook.
I disagree with Gleick to a certain extent because I do not believe that we should have one time zone
that covers the whole world, but I do believe in getting rid of day time saving changes. The whole
reason we have time zones are because they help us produce a way to understand when it is the
morning, noon, evening, and midnight, but without multiple time zones whenever it is noon in a
specific city it may the evening in another city causing the whole system of a time zone pointless. That
would bring such chaos to our world because the world is set up in a way that it functions according to
the sun. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Flannery O’Connor s Revelation and the Power of Religion...
Flannery O Connor believed in the power of religion to give new purpose to life. She saw the fall of
the old world, felt the force and presence of God, and her allegorical fictions often portray characters
who discover themselves transforming to the Catholic mind. Though her literature does not preach,
she uses subtle, thematic undertones and it is apparent that as her characters struggle through violence
and pain, divine grace is thrown at them. In her story Revelation, the protagonist, Mrs. Turpin, acts
sanctimoniously, but ironically the virtue that gives her eminence is what brings about her downfall.
Mrs. Turpin s veneer of so called good behavior fails to fill the void that would bring her to heaven.

O Connor is careful to be vague and creates an ambiguous atmosphere so the reader has no option
other than to perpetuate the stereotype. Her descriptions of people as dirty, ugly, white trash, and
nigger demonstrates her prejudice. Though this Southern Christian white woman is superficially
pleasant and well mannered, she conceals her ugly thoughts of class stratum cognizant of what is
below her pedestal. A church going woman who treats slaves fairly, she believes her time volunteered
and philosophy of doing things for others are enough to sanctify her ugliness on the inside. The
omniscient narrator observes that Mrs. Turpin felt at awful pity... it was one thing to be ugly and
another to act ugly (473) Ironically, Mrs. Turpin is the one who acts ugly. Arrogant about her station in
life, when faced to choose between a nigger or white trash she would plead with Jesus to let [her] wait
until there s another place available (472). Silently judging others she is pleased to not be anything
less socially acceptable than she already is, and often occupies herself at night classifying people. Mrs.
Turpin believed that you had to have certain things before you could know certain things; this
consequently places her on a higher plane (474). A normal day in the waiting room leads to an
unforeseen altercation, and ultimately an epiphany for Mrs. Turpin. A character named Mary Grace

Digital Signal Processing
With the advent of digitization in every field from communication to media, the need for methods to
process digital signals is more important than ever. Now that I am on the threshold of embarking on a
career that will encompass a major part of my adult life, I think it is natural that I veer towards Signal
processing. As I look back, I feel that my natural inclination and excellence in mathematics from
childhood has led me along this path. Digital Signal processing incorporates the use of mathematics to
manipulate an information signal to modify or improve it in some way, fitting naturally into my area
of strength and interest.
I graduated from high school with 97% in Physics, Chemistry and Maths as a result of which I was
admitted in SSN, ranked amongst the top engineering colleges in India. During my undergraduate
study in Electronics and Communications Engineering I developed a liking for subjects like Digital
Communication, Digital Image Processing, Digital Signal Processing.etc which provided me with a
fundamental knowledge about digital signals and a thirst to explore more.
My actual venture into DSP, started during fifth semester holidays when I attend a course on DSP
Applications conducted by IIT Madras and Analog Devices. This gave me a great opportunity to work
with several professors in IIT on projects like Noise Cancellation, Image Restoration using Kalman
filter.etc. Intrigued by this experience, I devoted more time towards studying various fields in

The Media Access Control System Essay
This layer conveys the bit stream electrical impulse, light or radio signal through the network at the
electrical and mechanical level. It provides the hardware means of sending and receiving data on a
carrier, including defining cables, cards and physical aspects. Data Link (Layer 2) At this layer, data
packets are encoded and decoded into bits. It furnishes transmission protocol knowledge and
management and handles errors in the physical layer, flow control and frame synchronization. The
data link layer is divided into two sub layers: The Media Access Control (MAC) layer and the Logical
Link Control (LLC) layer. Network (Layer 3) This layer provides switching and routing technologies,
creating logical paths, known as virtual circuits, for transmitting data from node to node. Routing and
forwarding are functions of this layer, as well as addressing, internetworking, error handling,
congestion control and packet sequencing. Transport (Layer 4) This layer provides transparent transfer
of data between end systems, or hosts, and is responsible for end to end error recovery and flow
control. It ensures complete data transfer. Session (Layer 5) This layer establishes, manages and
terminates connections between applications. The session layer sets up, coordinates, and terminates
conversations, exchanges, and dialogues between the applications at each end. It deals with session
and connection coordination. Presentation (Layer 6) This layer provides independence from

How Did Christianity Influence Australian Society
PART 1
Christianity is currently the largest Australian religion according to the national survey. In 2011, the
tally proved that 61.1% of Australians were listed as Christian. The occurrence of Christianity began
with the arrival of the First Fleet of British convicts in 1788. This led to a great society and a religious
community. If Christianity did not exist, the world would differ from life nowadays. We wouldn t have
many of the resources we have today, like we wouldn t be taught about God and we wouldn t be
taught the way of life. I mean look as us today and image yourself if a different religion today, our

ARP is a simple protocol that was never designed for authentication. Any end station that has access to
the layer two environment can claim any IP address if the proper security measures are not taken. ARP
spoofing or ARP poisoning occurs when an attacker s computer forges its credentials to allow the host
to believe that it is the intended recipient. If the attackers computer forwards all of the data that is to
be sent to the intended host it is very likely that the man in the middle would go undetected. At any
time the attacker can make changes to the data that is forwarded, copy and use the data, or flood the
network with erroneous packets that cause data collisions and effectively bring network traffic to a
halt. The process of wardriving is a new threat that has surfaced with the popularity of 802.11 style
wireless connections. Poor security with these devices allows an attacker virtually unrestricted access
to the data link layer and beyond. It is not very difficult to walk around various areas in a busy
metropolitan area and pick up unsecured wireless signals and gain access to private networks where
the owner has little idea of you presence. The third layer is the network layer. In the network layer
data is routed through various physical networks while traveling to a known host. Information
contained in the network layer allows routers to make decisions on how the data gets to its destination.

Much Ado About Nothing Double Entendre Analysis
Much Ado About Nothing is a comical 14th century play, written by the most influential play writer of
all time William Shakespeare. In 1598 and 1599 when this play was written, there were merely two
types of genres; comedy and tragedy. Hence, Much Ado About Nothing is classified as a comedy,
since no characters die, there is a happy ending and a comic hero/heroine. In the play, Leonato
arranges the hasty engagement of Claudio to his daughter, Hero. Don John appears to also love Hero,
and plots to deceive Claudio into believing Hero is cheating on him. As a result, Claudio believes this
delusion and decides to confront Hero at their wedding, causing Hero to supposedly die from shock.
Meanwhile, Hero convinces Beatrice that Benedick is an ideal husband. The play comes to a joyful
conclusion when Claudio marries Leonato s niece , whom is really a reincarnated Hero. The lovers are
reunited and Benedick and Beatrice also announce that they will get married too. Shakespeare uses
strategic and effective language techniques of double entendre, dramatization and topical humour, to
develop comedy in Much Ado About Nothing.
Double entendre is constantly present throughout Much Ado About Nothing and greatly develops the
audience s enjoyment. Double entendre is a word or phrase that can be interpreted in two ways and
have a suggested meaning. Before the play even begins, the title is a prime example of double
entendre. During the 14th century, nothing would have been pronounced as noting , meaning the
characters are attentive to all the wrong ideas. It is debatable that nothing also translates to women s
genitalia, suggesting the play is practically Much Ado About Vagina s. Furthermore, practically every
line Margaret says in the play can be interpreted in two ways and is an example of double entendre.
More specifically, in Act III, Scene 1, Margret claims, I ll make her come... Margaret is talking about
seeking Beatrice for Hero, yet is really inferring to the sexually explicit meaning of come/cum . For
the audience, this double entendre is quite amusing and consequently, significantly develops the genre
of comedy in Much Ado About Nothing.
Practically every aspect of Much Ado About Nothing is over

Faulkner has been hailed as one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century, especially for his

families in this county, and explores how the iniquity of the fathers is revisited upon the children
(Holy Bible: KJV Deut. 5.9). In both novels, through the use of stream of consciousness and various
other modernist writing techniques, Faulkner looks at two deeply troubled families with weak parents

His grand father, J.W.T. Falkner, inherited a railroad company, but instead of passing it on to his son
whose first and lasting love was the railroad, he sold it for $75,000 (Minter 6 7). Young Faulkner and
his family moved to Oxford, Mississippi, where his father, Murry, a cold man whose capacity for

Murry Falkner thinking that he would eventually run the railroad company, became more and more

as his mother s son (Minter 9).
As a child, Faulkner preferred to be the silent observer who moved back and forth between

  • 2. Tsunami And Natural Disasters Natural disasters happen all the time around the world; some are more devastating than others. Tsunamis tear apart cities like they are paper. There are tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, and all sorts of other disasters but per square foot tsunamis are the most powerful. Tsunami s are known to be very fast waves, but speeds on average can be around five hundred miles per hour or eight hundred and five kilometers per hour. Tsunami s will not only be powerful, but they will tear and demolish anything in their way. Tsunami s have been around for a very long time. Eight thousand years ago in Sicily, a volcano caused an avalanche that crashed into the Mediterranean Sea at two hundred miles per hour. A volcano also triggered movement in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The total economic cost could reach up to $35 billion, from a bank estimate and making it the costliest natural disaster in world history. The number of confirmed deaths is 15,894 as of June 10, 2016. According to the reconstruction agency more than 2,500 people are still reported missing. After the tsunami scientist drilled into the subduction zone after the earthquake. They then discovered that there was a thin slippery clay layer lying at the fault. The researchers think that this is what clearly allowed the two plates to slide in incredible distance, some 164 feet or 50 m starting the enormous earthquake and tsunami. Less than an hour after the earthquake first of many tsunami waves hit Japan s coastline. Heights were measured up to 128 feet and traveled inland as far as 6 miles. The tsunami flooded for an estimated area of approximately 217 square miles in Japan. There have been many major s tsunamis, but nothing to this caliber and to realize it has only happened six years ago. Underwater bomb testing has been a very disclosed topic. On the 22nd of September, a North Korean official has hinted about conducting a nuclear test at sea, which would have severe environmental concerns. The North Korean leader didn t elaborate on the nature of this event, but his foreign minister provided a hint that North Korea might test a hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean. • 3. Questions On Financial Earnings Management Prior studies (e.g., Burgstahler and Dichev 1997; Degeorge, Patel and Zeckhauser 1999) identify three earnings thresholds managers seek to achieve when they report financial statements: avoiding negative earnings, avoiding earnings declines, and avoiding negative earnings surprises. A large number of studies use these three earnings thresholds to test earnings management in various research settings. This dissertation investigates another potential earnings management threshold, peer performance, which has been largely ignored in the extant literature. Both Burgstahler and Dichev (1997) and Degeorge et al. (1999) explain threshold driven earnings management behavior by referring to the prospect theory (Kahneman and Tversky 1979), which suggests that for a given increase in wealth, the corresponding increase in value is the greatest when the increase in wealth moves from negative to positive territory relative to a reference point (viz., zero earnings, zero change in earnings or zero forecast error). While they do not specifically explain the formulation of reference points or the usage of other reference points beyond those extensively investigated three earnings thresholds, they imply the existence of other reference points (Burgstahler and Dichev 1997), ). and They also suggest that if other reference points are used either by corporate boards or investors, and if those reference points are reflected in the executives reward schedulesor compensation contracts, executives ... • 4. The Epic Poem, The Iliad by Homer Homer s epic poem, The Iliad, is about the battles and events during the Trojan War between King Agamemnon and the warrior Achilles. Mortality and Immortality is the main crucial distinction between humans and gods. That being said, another interesting thing about them is how similar they are to human beings. They make mistakes, become jealous, and get their feelings hurt unlike our modern conception of god as infinite, omniscient and omnibenevolent. The Iliad literature on the gods does not display such of what we perceive how a god should be nowadays. Throughout the literature, the gods and humans may have similarities, but the role of the gods reflects the relationship with humans. In the Iliad, the Gods seem to see the Human people as a game and toys, that they are not that important. When the war between Menelaus and Paris, the God s was an audience from above wagering bets on who would win over Helen. The gods did not care a bit about them. Zeus and many other Gods sat in council conferring across Olympus golden floor as noble Hebe poured them rounds of nectar. They lifted golden beakers pledging each other warmly, gazing down on Troy... (Book Four, 1 4), The Gods watch the people of Troy fight for their lives as they gather a party. This is different from many cultures because if the Gods see something negative happen, they execute something to try to fix it instead of enjoying the people s pain and suffering. At this point of The Iliad, the Gods that we have read ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Aphra Behn s Oroonoko as the First Modern Novel Essay During the seventeenth century, the art of writing was like uncharted waters for women, in which most who ventured were rendered pathetically unsuccessful. No matter the quality, publications written by women were typically ridiculed by their male contenders. However, a handful of women defied the common standards and were prosperous; one of these was Aprha Behn. Virgina Wolf says of Behn, All women together ought to let flowers fall upon the tomb of Aphra Behn, for it was she who earned them the right to speak their minds. Although she was a woman of outstanding accomplishments, one of her publications truly glistens. His mouth, the finest shape that could be seen; far from those great turned lips that were natural to most Negroes. (Behn 80 81) Furthermore, the female narrator present is yet another uncanny character in Oroonoko because influencial women were not typically presented in literature in the seventeenth century. Janet Todd describes the narrator as, a watcher and a listener, a recipient of gossip and news, commonsensical in her comments, but not omniscient and not able to deliver poetic justice in a place of real life happening or to provide a simple and single version of people and events (19). Likewise, great care is taken to focus on a specific location in which the tale takes place. It is clearly stated that the novel takes place in a colony in America, called Surinam, in the West Indies (Behn 75). The story goes on to examine the place of the main character s birth, Coramantien. Thus, Aphra Behn demonstrates particularity in her concise depiction of characters and their environments. The theme is a major component of a novel. Not only does it gives the work purpose, it also produces concert and unanimity. Paul Hunter says, The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Water Fiji Research Paper WATER Fiji, Dasani, and Zephyrhills Emily Brynn Davison Lake Butler Elementary School Abstract Fiji, Dasani, Zephyrhills In my project I put different brands of water into identical cups and ask my participants to put them in order from best to worst after trying each one. I hope to learn if manufacturing water a different way affects the taste of the water. I wanted to do this project, because when you think about water you don t think about different kinds of water so this project opens your mind to just a daily need. Fiji Water. Fiji water is a popular brand of water that takes a specific process. The water is from rain that has been filtered through layers of volcanic rock and slowly gathering the natural minerals and electrolytes that give Fiji water a soft, smooth taste. (Fiji Water official website) After being filtered the water gathers in a natural artesian aquifer that is deeply underground in the Fiji Islands so the water won t be contaminated with elements. The rainfalls are also purified by the winds that travel across the Island, because unlike most winds these don t carry any acid rain and environmental pollutants (https://www.leaf.tv/articles/facts about fiji water/). It is never touched by human hands, which shows that Fiji s water is clean and stays clean because bacteria from hands is never transferred to the water. Fiji s Nutritional Label says it s 93mg of silica per liter, 18mg of calcium per liter, 15mg of magnesium per liter, 152mg of salt. • 10. Social Anxiety Disorder And Social Disorders When people hear the word mental disorder most times their minds are turned towards people who are different or they automatically think of somebody pretending something is wrong. The term social anxiety is overlooked and seen as just severe shyness. The people that view it this way are heartless people who view mental health illnesses as diseases that are made up and shouldn t even exist. However mental illnesses do exist and they should not be overlooked. Similar to diabetes, Social Anxiety Disorder is a disease that is very significant and plays a huge role in someone s health, but can often be overlooked. Nonetheless just because something isn t seen doesn t mean that it isn t there. Social Anxiety Disorder is a mental illnesses and it needs to be recognized that Social Anxiety Disorder isn t just extreme shyness. According to Thomas A. Richards, the definition of Social Anxiety disorder is the fear and the anxiety of being negatively judged and evaluated by other people (Richards). It isn t uncommon for people to feel like they are being judged or evaluated by people. More often than not people are judging and evaluating people they see every day. Judging by first impressions happens all day everyday and everyone has done it. Sure enough, everyone has had these feelings at one point or another and that is why it is often confused with just being extremely shy. However, Social Anxiety is a chronic disease and unlike shyness it can not just be overcome. This makes the question arise of what exactly it is that triggers someone to be susceptible to Social Anxiety Disorder. Well, there are many factors that contribute in triggering Social Anxiety disorder. Some of which include, the overuse of technology, they way parents raise their children, and also having been extremely embarrassed at one point or another. According to Joseph Walsh who is an Associate Professor at the school of Social Work says, Symptoms of the anxiety may begin in childhood (often before age five) with another risk period just before puberty. The anxious child may demonstrate a fear of strangers as early as seven months, and behavioral inhibitions may be observed at 21 to 31 months (Walsh). As children are growing and ... In her poem, At Mornington , she considers the philosophical idea that the passing of time leads to gaining of wisdom. Harwood shows that growth and development are a critical part of defining our individuality. She has effectively used poetic techniques such as construction; vivid imagery and the context of her own life to explore this idea and contributed to the textual integrity of the piece. External contextual readings and values of the poem have illuminated the significance of the piece in asserting the value of friendship and relationships, and presented various ideas such as the inevitability of death, the significance that past events and memories play in shaping present perception as well as the defining of individuality through growth and development. Together, this contributes to the memorability of the poem. At Mornington is variant in structure; it is linear, circular and episodic, containing recurring motifs. The lack of a rhyme scheme displays the train of thought nature of the poem, presenting the poem as a reflective journey for the persona. Experiences with family and friends are tied with the poem, starting with a first witnessing of the sea and then introspectively reflecting on water, memory and death. The episodic recollection of the sea displays the personas reliance on memories to convey changes in perspective. • 16. Customer Orientation Of Airport Service Quality Introduction The aviation industry is one that is consistently changing and the demand in air travel is on the rise. With the rise in air travel, airports need to be able to handle the traffic. But the problem is that service quality in an airport declines when the airport has reached its design peak hour or even exceeded it. This simply means the airport cannot handle the amount of passengers it has thus customer satisfaction decreases. Today s air travelers have meaningful choices among airports and there is an increasing urgency among airport marketers to differentiate themselves by meeting the needs of customers better than the competition. While passengers perception of airport service quality is only one of several variables (e.g. routes, scheduling, location and prices) that contribute to overall airport attractiveness, it is nevertheless an important variable because of the increasing importance of a customer orientation to competitive advantage in this industry.(Fodness Murray, 2007) Solving it would result in a more efficient airport which can reduce the amount of delays at an airport whether is from aircraft landing or taking off or passenger traffic within the terminal thus giving the airport an advantage over the competition by becoming a preferred airport. Executive order 9066 allowed US Military to move people of Japanese descent, or anyone that posed a threat, into relocation camps . It was questioned if whether the treatment to this race of people was fair since a lot of their rights as citizens of the United States were taken from them just because of their ethnic background. It exists as the driving force behind Santiago s murder, suggesting that compassion is discarded when honor and respect are at stake. To the people of the fictitious village, honor [is] a brittle value one that cannot be rescued if harmed (Lipsett Rivera). Such a concept is illustrated through the actions of the Vicario twins, who stab Santiago to death in cold blood over the honor of their sister. Despite their open confession, both brothers still claim to be innocent under the idea their crime was, before God and before men...a matter of honor (49). The religious connotation intertwined with the act of killing suggests that exacting revenge is reverent, and therefore necessary to keep true to their faith and code of honor. Furthermore, the parallel structure of the phrase before God and before men furthers the link between faith and honor. By associating the terms God and men with each other, Marquez reveals that the notion of humanity is based on religious conviction. Thus, the only way to retain status as a good human is to follow religious constructs, and in the case of the Vicario brothers, to kill. This idea is furthered in the aftermath of the murder, when Marquez asserts that in killing Santiago, the brothers Vicario had proved their status as men (80). As with religion, honor itself is constantly emphasized as a framework for social hierarchy in the village. In killing Santiago, the brothers cemented not only their faith, but their rank in society as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He did not know that, because of the stuck valve, the indicator can provided false readings. Because adequate cooling was not available, the nuclear fuel overheated to the point where some of the zirconium cladding, the long metal tubes or jackets which hold the nuclear fuel pellets reacted with the water and created hydrogen. This hydrogen was released into the reactor containment building. By March 30, two days after the start of the chain of events, some hydrogen remained in the primary coolant system in the vessel surrounding the reactor, forming a hydrogen bubble above the reactor core. Officials were concerned that if reactor pressure decreased, the hydrogen bubble would expand and therefore interfere with the flow of cooling water through the core. Over the next few days, the bubble was reduced by degassing the pressurizer, meaning they adjusting air and water pressure. • 29. Flannery O’Connor s Revelation and the Power of Religion... Flannery O Connor believed in the power of religion to give new purpose to life. She saw the fall of the old world, felt the force and presence of God, and her allegorical fictions often portray characters who discover themselves transforming to the Catholic mind. Though her literature does not preach, she uses subtle, thematic undertones and it is apparent that as her characters struggle through violence and pain, divine grace is thrown at them. In her story Revelation, the protagonist, Mrs. Turpin, acts sanctimoniously, but ironically the virtue that gives her eminence is what brings about her downfall. Mrs. Turpin s veneer of so called good behavior fails to fill the void that would bring her to heaven. Grace hits her with force and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... O Connor is careful to be vague and creates an ambiguous atmosphere so the reader has no option other than to perpetuate the stereotype. Her descriptions of people as dirty, ugly, white trash, and nigger demonstrates her prejudice. Though this Southern Christian white woman is superficially pleasant and well mannered, she conceals her ugly thoughts of class stratum cognizant of what is below her pedestal. A church going woman who treats slaves fairly, she believes her time volunteered and philosophy of doing things for others are enough to sanctify her ugliness on the inside. The omniscient narrator observes that Mrs. Turpin felt at awful pity... it was one thing to be ugly and another to act ugly (473) Ironically, Mrs. Turpin is the one who acts ugly. Arrogant about her station in life, when faced to choose between a nigger or white trash she would plead with Jesus to let [her] wait until there s another place available (472). Silently judging others she is pleased to not be anything less socially acceptable than she already is, and often occupies herself at night classifying people. Mrs. Turpin believed that you had to have certain things before you could know certain things; this consequently places her on a higher plane (474). A normal day in the waiting room leads to an unforeseen altercation, and ultimately an epiphany for Mrs. Turpin. A character named Mary Grace seems estranged from both her mother ... • 30. Digital Signal Processing With the advent of digitization in every field from communication to media, the need for methods to process digital signals is more important than ever. Now that I am on the threshold of embarking on a career that will encompass a major part of my adult life, I think it is natural that I veer towards Signal processing. As I look back, I feel that my natural inclination and excellence in mathematics from childhood has led me along this path. Digital Signal processing incorporates the use of mathematics to manipulate an information signal to modify or improve it in some way, fitting naturally into my area of strength and interest. I graduated from high school with 97% in Physics, Chemistry and Maths as a result of which I was admitted in SSN, ranked amongst the top engineering colleges in India. During my undergraduate study in Electronics and Communications Engineering I developed a liking for subjects like Digital Communication, Digital Image Processing, Digital Signal Processing.etc which provided me with a fundamental knowledge about digital signals and a thirst to explore more. My actual venture into DSP, started during fifth semester holidays when I attend a course on DSP Applications conducted by IIT Madras and Analog Devices. This gave me a great opportunity to work with several professors in IIT on projects like Noise Cancellation, Image Restoration using Kalman filter.etc. Intrigued by this experience, I devoted more time towards studying various fields in ... • 31. The Media Access Control System Essay This layer conveys the bit stream electrical impulse, light or radio signal through the network at the electrical and mechanical level. It provides the hardware means of sending and receiving data on a carrier, including defining cables, cards and physical aspects. Data Link (Layer 2) At this layer, data packets are encoded and decoded into bits. It furnishes transmission protocol knowledge and management and handles errors in the physical layer, flow control and frame synchronization. The data link layer is divided into two sub layers: The Media Access Control (MAC) layer and the Logical Link Control (LLC) layer. Network (Layer 3) This layer provides switching and routing technologies, creating logical paths, known as virtual circuits, for transmitting data from node to node. Routing and forwarding are functions of this layer, as well as addressing, internetworking, error handling, congestion control and packet sequencing. Transport (Layer 4) This layer provides transparent transfer of data between end systems, or hosts, and is responsible for end to end error recovery and flow control. It ensures complete data transfer. Session (Layer 5) This layer establishes, manages and terminates connections between applications. The session layer sets up, coordinates, and terminates conversations, exchanges, and dialogues between the applications at each end. It deals with session and connection coordination. • 32. How Did Christianity Influence Australian Society PART 1 Christianity is currently the largest Australian religion according to the national survey. In 2011, the tally proved that 61.1% of Australians were listed as Christian. The occurrence of Christianity began with the arrival of the First Fleet of British convicts in 1788. This led to a great society and a religious community. If Christianity did not exist, the world would differ from life nowadays. We wouldn t have many of the resources we have today, like we wouldn t be taught about God and we wouldn t be taught the way of life. I mean look as us today and image yourself if a different religion today, our lives wouldn t be the same. • 33. Security And The OSI Model Essay Security and the OSI Model Network security is a topic that reaches far beyond the realm of firewalls, passwords, and user ID accounts. For a network and data to remain secure there must be protective measures at each level in the OSI interconnect model. While each layer basically operates autonomously of the other it is important to ensure that the data being transmitted from the host to destination has not been tampered with or is being prevented from reaching its destination. There are seven level to the OSI interconnect model; each with its own special tasks, abilities, and weaknesses. ARP is a simple protocol that was never designed for authentication. Any end station that has access to the layer two environment can claim any IP address if the proper security measures are not taken. ARP spoofing or ARP poisoning occurs when an attacker s computer forges its credentials to allow the host to believe that it is the intended recipient. If the attackers computer forwards all of the data that is to be sent to the intended host it is very likely that the man in the middle would go undetected. At any time the attacker can make changes to the data that is forwarded, copy and use the data, or flood the network with erroneous packets that cause data collisions and effectively bring network traffic to a halt. The process of wardriving is a new threat that has surfaced with the popularity of 802.11 style wireless connections. Poor security with these devices allows an attacker virtually unrestricted access to the data link layer and beyond. It is not very difficult to walk around various areas in a busy metropolitan area and pick up unsecured wireless signals and gain access to private networks where the owner has little idea of you presence. The third layer is the network layer. In the network layer data is routed through various physical networks while traveling to a known host. Information contained in the network layer allows routers to make decisions on how the data gets to its destination. Security ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Meanwhile, Hero convinces Beatrice that Benedick is an ideal husband. The play comes to a joyful conclusion when Claudio marries Leonato s niece , whom is really a reincarnated Hero. • 36. Essay on The Iniquities of the Father The Iniquities of the Father: A Look at the Faulknerian Family. Faulkner has been hailed as one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century, especially for his depictions of life in the Deep South. Many of his stories take place in fictional Yoknapatawpha County, Mississippi. In the Sound and the Fury and As I Lay Dying, he focuses on two very different families in this county, and explores how the iniquity of the fathers is revisited upon the children (Holy Bible: KJV Deut. 5.9). Falkner, inherited a railroad company, but instead of passing it on to his son whose first and lasting love was the railroad, he sold it for $75,000 (Minter 6 7). Young Faulkner and his family moved to Oxford, Mississippi, where his father, Murry, a cold man whose capacity for affection was limited, grew more and more bitter, drank whisky, and remained distant and cautious (Minter 9). The relationship between Faulkner s father and his mother, who had probably married Murry Falkner thinking that he would eventually run the railroad company, became more and more strained. As the tension between them increased, Faulkner s father came more and more to regard him as his mother s son (Minter 9). As a child, Faulkner preferred to be the silent observer who moved back and forth between participation and withdrawal (Minter 12). He dropped out of eleventh grade twice, before getting a short job at his grandfather s bank, where he learned the medicinal value of his [Grandfather s] liquor (Meriwether 7). He eventually moved to New Haven, developed a British identity, changed his last name from Falkner to Faulkner, and joined up to become an R.F.C. pilot during World War I.
