Rubino V. Circuit Court Case Study
DEFENDANTS REPLY IN SUPPORT OF MOTION TO STRIKE AND DISMISS PLAINTIFFS
FOURTH AMENDED COMPLAINT Defendants, Gerry Goldman and Mary Goldman, by and
through their attorneys, ADLER, MURPHY, MCQUILLEN LLP, respectfully submit this Reply in
Support of their Motion to Strike and Dismiss Plaintiffs Fourth Amended Complaint. I. Proper
Pleadings are Vital to the Effective and Efficient Administration of Justice. After having had two prior
complaints stricken, Plaintiffs continue to ignore well settled authority that proper pleadings are
essential to the judicial process . As the Illinois Appellate Court in Rubino v. Circuit City Stores, Inc.,
324 Ill. App. 3d 931, 938 (1st Dist. 2001), opined: Concise and clear pleadings are vital to the
administration of justice. No party should be called upon to answer or defend the redundant, jumbled
and cryptic pleadings filed by plaintiff s counsel, and no court should be forced to expend so much
time and energy attempting to decipher them. Id. at 949. This passage in Rubino is directly applicable

The Impact Of Implementing Pbis On The Social, Emotional...
Often times in school settings there are systems that are put into place to assist in behavioral change.
The systems are usually introduced and planted by a team of administrators or teachers that develop
intervention plans. These intervention plans are referred to as positive behavioral support systems that
usually assist students with behavioral or academic difficulties. In 1972, it was learned during the
Mills vs. the D.C. Board of Education case that diverse learners were not receiving the same
educational opportunities as other students because of their behavior. Congress understood that there
was a need for diverse learners and evidence based approaches were needed, in order to assure proper
modifications for students. Positive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Positive Behavioral Support and Interventions are necessary to maintain a healthy school atmosphere,
and achievements amongst all students. It is important to understand each level of students, and what
may or may not be conducive to restraining spontaneous actions or responses. Oftentimes teachers
face hardship in a classroom due to classroom management discrepancies. In some cases, classroom
management is difficult because of unruly behaviors from students, or not being accurately prepared
for students with challenging behaviors. By implementing these special systems, team
members/school staff become aware of necessary steps to deal with aggressive, violent, and rebellious
behaviors that usually disrupt classroom instructions. In my experience within the educational field,
positive behavioral intervention plans are introduced by trial and error. Many times there are
interventions that are already in place to support behaviors within a school. While other times special
teams meet to introduce pilot interventions to provide stronger support. Many times students that are
identified at diverse learners are sent through a process that will develop an individualized educational
plan (IEP) or 504 plan for them. The IEP usually identifies any behavioral, physical, or academic
challenges that could occur that may prevent the student from learning, and cause interruptions within

Why Do People Commit Crimes In The 16th Century
Crimes and Punishments in the 16th Century
The punishments in the 16th century were extremely firm and horrifying for criminals. People who
committed crimes in the 16th century had to face serious punishments, such as the rack, weight placed
on breast, and were placed on a sharp stone. Not to mention in this time period, people were living in
poverty and some people could not find money to buy food for their families. The population of
England was growing faster than food resources. One result of this was occasional and localized food
shortages so severe as to occasion hunger, starvation, and death (Morgan 288). In addition, many
people did not have money even to buy basic things they needed to survive and many of them became
criminals in the eye of the 16th century law. Punishments in the 16th century were unjust able for
crimes such as begging, theft, and treason. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

rollers were then used to stretch the body. The tension was maintained and gradually increased by use
of a ratchet. This caused terrible pain for the victim as well as increasing physical damage as the
torture continued. Tendons were ripped, joints separated and bones fractured. The sounds of muscles
and tendons tearing and snapping provided audible signs of the damage being done (Crime in Tudor
and Stuart England). The iron maiden is a sarcophagus with spikes and the branding iron is a hot

Hard To Pay For College Essay
Nowadays it s hard to get a degree and even harder to pay for. In the article How to Pay for College , it
says that with hard work students can earn scholarships, apply for financial aid, finance loans, and
take on a part time job to pay for college. However, there is plenty of evidence proving otherwise. Due
to the rising costs of tuition and the restrictions to getting financial aid, it is almost impossible for
lower and middle class citizens to afford college. Loans leave students in debt and scholarships are not
always a sure thing. With a part time job, putting in too many hours of work can interfere with ones
sleep and actual study time. Recently a study was done on the average college students ability to pay
for college with a part time job. Randy Olsen, a computer science graduate research assisstant at
Michigan State University, crunched the numbers for both Michigan State and all public universities
in the U.S. The average tuition cost at an in state public university is $8,709 not including room and
board, books and supplies, personal care, and transportaton fees. Research shows that the amount of
hours needed to work to pay for college tuition with a part time minimum wage job has more than
tripled since the year 1979. It is now a lot harder to work your way through college than it was 37
years ago. Many people in America miss the chance at pursuing a higher education. This is not
because they lack talent or they do not try hard enough. Their parents cannot

How Does Blake Create Striking Images Used To Question...
William Blake s poem, The Tyger, create striking images used to question religion and contrast good

Creating a imagery of fire evokes the fierceness and potential danger of the tiger, which itself
represents what is evil or dreaded. Tyger Tyger, burning bright... In the forests of the night, Blake

The picture of The Lamb s feeding by the stream and o er the mead is a beautiful one, which suggests
God s kindness in creation, and has an echo of similar descriptions in the Old Testament book of

Blake reminds The Lamb, and us, that the God who made The Lamb, also is like The Lamb. As well

The Glass Palace By Amitav Ghosh
The Glass Palace
Amitav Ghosh explores different storytelling forms and complicates the picture of pre and
postcolonial South Asian identity in his fourth novel The Glass Palace1. His ambitious epic tells the
stories of a cast of characters, royal working clogs, and bourgeois Indians, Bengalis, and Burmese as
they grapple with their sense of place and self while violent historical events reshape twentieth century
Burma and India2 .
Amitav Ghosh s The Glass Palace is an evocation of the recent past of the glorious culture and
eventual of Burma along with the gradual erosion of its social structure as well as economic self
sufficiency. The novel cuts across three generations of Indians who make Burma their home and
leaves it under the onslaught of Japanese invasion. It is a curious fact that the past or the prospects of
the Burma never occupied the attention of the world, not because of its economic deprivation or
primitive mode of living, but due to its geographical obscurity. The policy of Britain is nothing short
of looting by forcing the king into exile and taking charge of the country. In a matter of few decades

Clara Machumann s Impact On Society
Franz Schubert is known to be one of the last classical composers and one of the first romantic
composer. Schubert s music is well known for its melody and harmony. Although he was a fantastic
composer, his music did not become as recognized until he had already passed. His vocal
contributions were written for both male and female voices, as well as mixed voices. Schubert is
considered to be a Romantic composer for many reasons, some being were that he combined
Romantic poetry and music, and that he was extremely emotional which led to his melodies and
feelings. Schubert s life and personality also were a huge impact that made him fit into the Romantic
stereotype. He came from a poor family and lived a miserable life. Throughout his life, he was always
known to be a loner which help him be the creative person he always was. Schubert died very young
at the age of 31 and was very sick; Syphillis.
Robert and Clara Schumann were a couple that were in love. Their story is full of music, love, and
marriage. Before marriage, they went through a difficult time of parental disapproval and gossip.
Schumann allowed his music to speak the depth of love he had for Clara. After getting married, Clara

He was also one of the leading conductors from his generation. He was well known for his ten
symphonies and various songs with orchestra, which drew together many different strands of
Romanticism. Mahler was one of those persons who was a bit difficult to work with. He had a nasal,
high pitched voice, was authoritarian and prone to anger, and he was a stickler for even minor details.
He was also know to use his art to express intense emotions. Looking toward nature, literature, and the
visual arts for inspiration, his music created during this time would go on to influence later musicians
with its exploration of richer harmonies and less concern with previous music

Analysis Of A Worn Path By Phoenix Jackson
In a short story, A Worn Path An elderly woman named Phoenix jackson makes a trip to town to get
medicine for her grand child with lye poisoning. Along the way she encounters several obstacles.
Welty throughout the story the author makes several points to connect this work to other famous
works of literature to strengthen her character without directly doing so. The author uses imagery to
recreate famous parts of The Bible also the main character s name, Phoenix Jackson is a reference to
the mystical bird the phoenix which is a symbol for rebirth. Phoenix Jackson symbolically is reborn
several times throughout the story. The stories title and main plot point is the path she walks which
holds many similarities to the path of life.
The first story of the bible that the author relates to A Worn Path is the story of moses parting the red
sea. This was illustrated in paragraph twenty eight Parting her way from side to side with her cane..
(Welty) This is one of the more vague relations, but in the third paragraph where Mrs. Jackson yells at
wild animals Old Phoenix said, Out of my way all you foxes, owls, beetles, jack rabbits, coons and
wild animals!... Keep the big wild hogs out of my path.... (Welty) and this strongly relates to first book
of the Bible, genesis where God gives man command over all the animals and sea creatures. In the
same part of the bible God creates Adam and puts him in charge of naming all of these creates so
maybe the author was also taking a jab

Secondary Research Methods Paper
This research will be conducted using secondary research methods. The secondary sources will draw
on qualitative research such as, participant observation, interviews, and ethnographic accounts to
analyze the topic. The process of this research project will use a deductive approach. A deductive
approach is researching from a broad topic and narrowing it down to a more specific topic. This is
ideal for this project because there is an immense amount of research done on the development of
children and parenting, so therefore this project will narrow down to a specific aspect of these two
topics and create new information.
Secondary research methods include analyzing and gathering existing literature on the researchers
topic. Secondary research methods can be challenging because the existing literature might not
address the researchers questions directly and it might not be current or valid. An advantage to
secondary research methods is that it is quick and low cost. The data needed to analyze has already
been collected and ready to use. Secondary research methods also might only work for specific topics

How Human Beings Can Conserve Primate As Valuable Species
Animals and human beings come into contact with each other in the different environment across the
world. This has been fostered by human settlement in most regions that were delegated for animals.
Whenever there is a contact between human and animals, there is a chance for the development of a
relationship. Although human beings are familiar with the interaction of companion animals like cats,
human animal interaction also occurs in the context of farms, laboratories and in the wilderness
(Davis, Schaffner, Smith 2005). Repeated relationship can lead to developing long term friendly
relationship between animals and human beings involved. Various studies have been developed in an
attempt of developing the most critical and rational measures that can be utilized to enhance and
develop a human animal relationship (Campbell, Shideler, Todd, Lasley 2001). These research studies
have in majority concentrated on domesticated species. This research paper is developed to critically
analyze the human primate relationship. The study critically is developed to show how human beings
can conserve primate as valuable species. The primate is used to refer to the group of mammals that
are intelligent and most developed in comparison to other animals. In the animal kingdom they are the
beings that are closest related to humans. Primate conservation has been one of the major concerns of
animal experts. The animals are intelligent and required great attention with a critical understanding

Human Population And Its Impact On The Environment
All populations of species are limited to a specific number, called its carrying capacity, which refers to
the ability of an ecosystem to support their needs. Once a population grows to the point where it
extends past the limit, the environment no longer has the capacity to support them and individuals
must die to stabilize the population. Humans are no exception to this rule, as their populations are
constrained by such density dependent factors as the availability of food, land, and other resources.
Growth in the human population in particular, profoundly worsens the effect on the environment as
well, based on the IPAT equation which states that population directly contributes to environmental
impact. With the rapid growth that the human population is undergoing, researchers predict that
humanity is overshooting their carrying capacity and will soon face a collapse; however, the ability to
use technology to efficiently maximize resource allocation while minimizing environmental impact
raises a debate of whether or not humans will be able to continue living as they are now.
The article, Limits to Growth was Right by the Guardian evaluates the predictions put forth in the
book, Limits to Growth, according to recent studies from the University of Melbourne. Published in
1972, Limits to Growth presents the results of a study from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
in which researchers created a complex mathematical program to estimate the future of population,

Moses Cooper In A Separate Peace
Moses is an ordinary farmer, and is one of the leader in the revolutionary activities. He is a very
opinionated man and likes to argue. He is proud of his Protestant heritage as a people of the Book, and
he scolds his son Adam for superstitious behavior, telling him the Coopers have been proud of their
literate and educated tradition. Moses helps a lot of people especially his neighbor Joseph Simmons.
Moses helped Simmons draft the statement on the rights of man as a basis for negotiating with the
British for independence. Moses is hard on his son Adam until he hears that Adam does not think that
he loves him. Hate him? My father exploded of all the crazy notions, of all idiotic ideas. There is a
boy, my first born son why would I hate him. (Page 45) He tells him he is too young for the
Committee but at the last minute allows his son to sign up for the muster on the Common because he
sees in Adam s eyes that he will lose his son if he does not recognize him as a man in front of the other
men. In the book, Moses Cooper is portrayed as a very opinionated, religious, and an enraged man but

Summary Of The Miraculous Journey Of Edward Tulane
I have read this book a couple times now, and the many complex things I have learned are unbearable.
Every chapter is important to what the end of the story is going to be. I think this story of a china
rabbit finding his way back home had more plot twists than I thought this story would have. The first
lesson that I will tell you will be to never give up hope on love, but to always know that somebody
will find room in their hearts for you. When you figure out what love is, your heart will grow even
bigger.
Love can bring together the love of others around them. But love can also bring effect on others that
have not seen what love can do to them. Love is not the impact of how expensive your belongings are.
Nothing is more expensive than the price of love. And that s one of the lessons that I have learned
from the book that I have read. In the beginning I read pages 5 thru 7 where edward specifically said:
The china rabbit was in possession of an extraordinary wardrobe composed of handmade silk suits,
custom shoes fashioned from the finest leather and designed specifically for his rabbit feet, and a wide
array of hats equipped with holes so that they could easily fit over edward s large and expressive ears.
Each pair of well cut pants had a small pocket for Edward s gold pocket watch (Page 7) writing from

myself, that not what love is about, love is about the trust of others

The Allegorical Messages of The Divine Comedy by Dante...
The beginning lines of The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri indicate a pragmatic journey through
the dark woods. It is soon evident that The Divine Comedy is in terms of an allegory. Midway through
his life, Dante finds himself lost and in darkness. He is confused and unaware of how he has ended up
in these dark woods. Dante soon comes across Italian poet Virgil, who will guide him through the
Nine Circles of Hell. Dante Alighieri s The Divine Comedy: Inferno portrays Dante s life and
adventure through Hell which allegorically represents a much broader subject: man s journey through
life to salvation.
The Divine Comedy: Inferno begins when Dante is midway through life and he has lost his way. In the
starting lines, Dante claims, Midway in our life s journey, I went astray From the straight road and
woke To find myself Alone in a dark wood. Dante declares that he has strayed away from the straight
road. In Dante s allegory, the straight road symbolizes the right and virtuous path that leads to God.
Mankind must be constantly seeking morality, and once man begins to lose sight of this righteousness,
they will begin to abandon God s honest path. In order to remain on the right path, man must carefully
strive for virtue and be aware of their sins.
Not knowing how he wandered away from the straight road, Dante finds himself in an eerie, dark
wood. In Dante s Inferno, this dark wood allegorically resembles the people of mankind who are not
consciously aware of

enormity of the knife descending and cutting into living flesh, because of the unbearable blood. (pg 31
Golding) Jack lets the pig go, for her to live another day out in the wild. The pig also demonstrates
humans craving to finish the job . Jack s inability to kill the pig leads him to desire it, on many levels.
His mind becomes obsessed with the want and need to kill that pig. He doesn t only kills the pig, he

The Search For Happiness
Happiness is something that everyone, regardless of their background and experiences, search for in
life. This search for happiness is manifested in countless novels, theatrical plays, and films, and
involves at least one character who struggles to find purpose and joy in their life. A common theme in
these stories is the character s impression that there is something missing or inadequate with aspects of
their current identity. Thus, they believe that they must complete the missing piece of themselves to
achieve happiness. This is best demonstrated by Amedeo/Ahmed in A Clash of Civilizations Over an
Elevator in Piazza Vittorio and Xavier in L Auberge Espagnole. I believe that one s conceptualization
of their identity is actually an obstacle to happiness and that one can only be truly happy once they
embrace their true identity, which is often much different from the one they imagine. A Clash of
Civilizations Over an Elevator in Piazza Vittorio by Amara Lakhous focuses extensively on the
importance of identity in one s life, mainly in relation to ethnicity and religion. Identity plays such an
important role in the characters lives that it dominates the way the perceive each other, leading them to
radical and often negative conclusions. For example, when interviewed about a murder, the character

Support Group Reflection
Translating What I learned In the grief support group I co lead with a Licensed Professional Clinical
Counselor (LPCC) and supervised by a Master of Social Work I learned how to facilitate a meeting.
The LPCC taught me the person centered approach and the social worker taught me to monitor client s
progression of goals. She allowed me to take lead, to link members together by similarities they share,
and to give members homework. The LPCC believed in self disclosure, she demonstrated this for me
in a fantastic manner the social worker I was with did as well. Teaching me that it is great to self
disclose when appropriate and when it will benefit the progression of the group or for them to feel
comfortable trusting the leader. In my group sessions I did not deem self disclosure appropriate to use.
How I will translate this is to be aware of my clients, to ask them what goals they hope to achieve, and
for them to keep journals of progress. I will create a safe atmosphere for clients to speak, provide
affirmation, and help clients set and maintain goals.
Evolution of Grief Support Group The grief support group I co led was an open group. This led to
introductions and a small orientation at the beginning of each session to create a positive tone for the
group. The other leader led this introduction for the first few sessions and asked me to observe, study,
and determine how I would like to convey an introductory message and the ground rules for the next
sessions. This

The Planet Of The Sun
Past the pale blue skies and fluffy white clouds are the brilliantly bright stars in an amazing place
called Outer Space. Countless stars, galaxies, and planets drift off into the vast area known as the
Universe. Each tiny speck of light out in the distance could be a galaxy, or maybe even planets. Truly,
the Universe is huge, holding every wonder in existence. In this Universe, though, was a little
gathering of planets, known as the Solar System. In the Solar System, were two planets. One was a
very big one, one bigger than the sun. It was a very beautiful golden yellow planet, who shined
brighter than the sun it revolved around. This planet was named Child of the Sun, because it shined so
bright. The second planet in the Solar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, the idea came to them! Easily Child of the Sun could break out of orbit in the Solar System
and travel to distant lands; they could meet new planets and swallow them right up until they were the

Blue One would be fine. The only catch was that Child of the Sun had to come up with a good excuse
of why they would have to leave Little Blue One all by themself in the Solar System. Small Blue One,
Child of the Sun spoke up with a voice just as smooth as the golden color on its surface. Yes, Child of
the Sun? Small Blue One answered happily while gazing up at the golden giant in wonder, just like
they did every day. I have been thinking long, and I have been thinking hard, Small Blue One, Child
of the Sun explained gracefully. And I have come to the conclusion that I wish to travel throughout the
Universe. It will be a long, dangerous, and daring trip, but I have decided that it will be worth seeing
all of the wonderful things out there. Child of the Sun paused for a moment as they waited for Small
Blue One to answer them. Sure enough, after a few moments of waiting, a very nervous voice came
from the small, ocean blue planet. Oh, travel across the Universe? Are you asking me to accompany
you along this dangerous and long trip, Child of the Sun? Small Blue One questioned while trying to

William Shakespeare s Hamlet
Clarice Paul
Mr. Lopes
ENG3U1 06
1/14/15
Human beings strive to have better knowledge and intellect in their daily lives. However, can the
power of intelligence be considered a negative aspect? In the play, Hamlet written by William
Shakespeare, the topic of intelligence is a predominant theme that is woven through two of the main
characters: Hamlet and Claudius. Although Hamlet and Claudius are sworn enemies, they are much
more similar in character than meets the eye. Even though Hamlet appears to be insane, he actually
deceives the other characters to retaliate his father s wicked murder. Hamlet s strong use of words and
his significant soliloquies shows that he is well aware of what is happening around him. Similarly,
Claudius is truly the king of deception and trickery. Although, he seems to have the whole kingdom
fooled about his identity, Hamlet is the only one who is able to use his intelligence to see through the
King s façade. Similarly, Hamlet s insanity appears to deceive everyone, except Claudius, who
believes there is something more to it. Both Claudius and Hamlet use intelligence to gain power, to
discover the concealed truth, and ultimately to get revenge.
Firstly, Hamlet and Claudius use intelligence to gain power. Claudius murders his own brother to
accumulate power and seize the throne of Denmark. He pretends to mourn the loss of his brother when
he says, though the passing of our dear brother s death, the memory be green, and that it us befitted, to

Type I Supernova

Literary Analysis and Comp. II
Mrs. Mikowski
Supernovae
A supernova is a stellar explosion that occurs at the end of a star s lifetime. It is one of the largest and
most energetic explosions in space (S1). A supernova can briefly outshine an entire galaxy and radiate
more energy than our sun will in its lifetime. That is about same brightness of 10 million suns (S2).
Supernovae happen about every 50 years in a galaxy about the size of the Milky Way, which could be
about every second in our universe (S3). Supernovae can happen in two ways depending on the mass
of the star; Type I or Type II.
A Type I supernova happens when the star steals matter from a neighbor until a nuclear reaction
ignites. Type I supernovae are generally thought to come from white dwarf stars only in binary star
systems (S1). A white dwarf star is what stars like our sun become after they have used up their
nuclear fuel. As the gas of the neighboring star grows onto the white dwarf, the white dwarf is
progressively and constantly compressed, and after a while, sets off a nuclear reaction inside the star
that eventually leads to an energetic supernova outburst (S3). ... Show more content on

Like our sun, it will eventually run out of hydrogen and helium fuel at the star s core. However, it will
have enough mass and pressure to fuse carbon (S2). Next, over time, heavier elements build up at the
center and it becomes layered like an onion (S2). The elements will become lighter and move towards
the outside of the star. The core will heat up and become dense. The core will become extremely
heavy; so heavy that its gravitational force will not be able withstand it; causing it to explode. The
explosion spews out stellar material throughout space

Within all of the dialogue and debate, there can be a lot of bias and misrepresentation of facts

Contemporary dishes like seal flipper pie have also contributed to the cultural identity of
Newfoundland society. As a result of these strong cultural ties, commercial and subsistence sealing
continues to exist through legal policy by demand from both government and society. The policies that
govern seal hunting are based on a sustained yield principle that does not compromise the harvest for
future generations, and are thus in accordance with sustainable aspects of resource development.
Economic benefits gained from the seal hunt include an increase in trading relationships for Canada
and the stimulation of the provincial economy of Newfoundland and Labrador. As reported by the
Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the total landed value of the seal harvest for 2006 was $34.3
million dollars ( Market 1). This figure represents a historic high, when market prices per pelt were
favourable. Regardless, the money brought in from seal hunting is said to have a trickle down effect
on other sectors of the economy ( Market 1). Canada has historically been the leading exporter of seal
products in the global marketplace, and had exported over $70 million in product between 2005 and

Tourism: Tourism is a fundamental component of the Indonesian economy. The contribution of
tourism to their GDP in 2014 was IDR 325,467 billion (US$26,162 million) which summed up to
3.2% of their GDP. In 2015 9.73 million international visitors visited Indonesia and each person spent
approximately AUD $193.21 during their visit. The Indonesian government wanted to invest in more
tourism advancement in 2016 so they could raise their GDP. Their goal is for 275 more visitors per
annul by the end of 2019. Some of the most visited places in Indonesia are mainly religious temples
such as, Borobudur a Buddhist temple, Tanah a lost island temple and Prambanan a Hindu temple.
Australia and Indonesia have a close relationship and it is shown by how they visit each other often.
Almost 16,200 Indonesians visited Australia in June 2016 moreover 116,000 Australian visited
Indonesia in June 2016 more than any month in history. Indonesia was the most popular place to visit

Device That Can Be Thought As A Gun
device that can be thought as a gun. The second screen has a surface that can record or detect any
wave or particle that manages to pass through the slits and strike the screen. As will be seen, sometime
the researcher will open just one slit and other times both slits. The experiment is conducted in stages
in order to contrast waves from particles.
In the first stage a series of bullets (particles) will be fired toward the barrier with one slit open. As
expected a vertical pattern of bullet holes will appear behind slit 1. After opening the second slit and
firing another volley, a second vertical pattern will appear right next to the first one. In other words the
bullets behave just like particles in accordance with classical physics as would be expected.
In stage two a monochromatic light (light with just one wavelength) will be emitted toward the screen.
This is in contrast to the light from a normal light bulb that is composed of many differing
wavelengths (making it difficult to observe the interference pattern). The second screen is coated with
a chemical that illuminates when impacted by light. When the monochromatic light is emitted with
only one slit open, a pattern of brightness appears just behind the slit. But with both slits open an
interference pattern is observed consisting of bright bands where constructive interference occurred
and dark bands where destructive interference occurred. Again, this is just what is expected.

History Of Health Care Reform
History of Health Care Reform
Our country has been on the cusp of health care reform several times throughout history. It has
evolved from strictly a patient and physician system to numerous other parties in the equation from
patients, physicians, hospitals, insurance carriers and government programs to name a few. The latest
health care reform came with passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) signed
into law on March 23, 2010. This new law is a conglomerate of the many attempts at health care
reform throughout the years.
In the early 1900 s, healthcare was aimed at protecting workers from lost wages and medical expenses
while they were sick (Hoffman, 2003). President Truman proposed universal health insurance but it
was seen as socialized medicine and the legislation never passed (Oberlander, 2012). He did manage
to pass the Social Security Act of 1935 that later became the basis for Medicare and Medicaid
(Hoffman C. , 2009).
Military Medicare was passed in 1956 that provided health care benefits for military dependents.
Employer based insurance continued to grow during this time. As health care was becoming more
difficult to get for older Americans and the sick, the U.S. government became involved and passed
Medicare/Medicaid legislation on July 30, 1965 (Taylor, 2014). Medicare Part A to pay for hospital
care, skilled nursing and home health, optional Medicare Part B to pay for physician care, and
Medicaid, to assist states in covering

Pact Of Silence
While the setting of the novel, Barcelona, was essentially the center of the deadly Spanish Civil War,
when the author Zafón was writing the story, Barcelona (along with the rest of Spain) was engaged in
what was known as the pact of silence (Bethune 65). This pact of silence was fragile in every nature,
with citizens and government members alike choosing to keep quiet and not to stir the national
demons. Following several years of civil war, Spain was placed under the dictatorial rule of Francisco
Franco, who remained dictator until his death in 1975 (Bethune 65). It was after Franco s death that
the pact of silence was put into practice as a kind of national safeguard, in some ways allowing the
citizens of Spain to be able to relax again without having to constantly be reminded of the war s
deadly consequences. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Eight Phases Of The Moon
The moon is the planet Earth s only natural satellite and is one of the largest in the Solar System. This
natural satellite was not formed long after Earth about 4.5 billion years ago. The gravitational forces
continue to keep the moon in orbit of Earth. Even though it appears so, the moon does not physically
produce light but it does reflect light from the sun (which is why we are able to see it). It takes our
Moon 27.3 days to completely cycle through the Lunar month, which has eight phases. Through these
different phases we see it lit from different angles and this depends upon the position of the Moon in
its orbit. These phases include; the new moon, waning crescent, third quarter, waning gibbous, full

Pursuing A Career In School Psychology
The authors begin chapter three by explaining that there are commonly discrepancies among raters
and their ratings of child behavior. Moreover, these differences stem from the different perceptions of
the parents, teachers, children, and even the school psychologist. The differences can also be attributed
to the differences in the child s behavior across contexts. This information is important to
acknowledge and understand for many reasons. We are different. What a parent might constitute as a
poor behavior, might be seen as an acceptable behavior by the teacher. It all goes back to culture and
what each person truly believes to be important and/or meaningful. This also made me think of other
courses that we have taken where we were required to observe a child, as well as operationally define
a target behavior. The operational definition of the behavior helps to ensure that anyone can observe
the same behavior without confusion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Marc Chagall And Frida Kahlo
INTRODUCTION
The use of symbols is a powerful means used by the artists to connect with the viewer on a personal or
universal level. These symbolic messages give strength and meaning to artworks and are achieved
through the artist s choice of media, techniques and imagery . Two artists who exemplify this use of
symbolism are Marc Chagall and Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo was an artist, moulded by the context of
her personal life, who is commemorated for her use of symbolism in her many auto biographical
artworks. Kahlo, born on July 6th 1907 in Coyocoán, Mexico City, suffered though many problematic
circumstances. At age 6 Kahlo was diagnosed with polio and, was then bedridden for nine months.
The disease damaged her right foot and leg which resulted in her forming a permanent limp.
(Biography.com Editors , 2017) At age eighteen Kahlo was then involved in a horrific accident when
she was on a bus and their vehicle collided with a streetcar. The accident forced a steel rail to impale
Kahlo from the front of her hip right through to the other side. These fractures to her hips, ribs,
collarbones, feet and shoulders caused her to be surrounded by a full body cast, which started her love
for art. She began painting images on her cast, one by one, using her spare time to pursue her new
found love. In 1929 Kahlo married the well known artist, Diego Rivera. Their relationship was
tumultuous and soon resulted in their divorce in 1939. This heartbreak caused Kahlo to become

The tactics that will be employed during the negotiation will be integrative in nature and with a weak

Excalibur will need to offer more resources to make a business relationship desirable for Knight. To

Mayan Painting Artist At Bonampak
Scott Castruita Art Appreciation Deborah Gustlin Dec 8, 2014 Mayan Mural Painter at Bonampak My
name is Scott Castruita and I live in Gilroy and I am 26 years old. Being an art student, I have learned
that artist reflect certain aspects of their community while preparing any artistic product. This trend
has been in existence for a long time ever since the discovery of art in ancient communities. However,
I must admit that most of us in the modern communities do not appreciate art to the extent that it
deserves. In order to understand and appreciate art, people must have knowledge of its place in time.
As such, I took an initiative of unraveling the Mayan Mural Painter at Bonampak by investigating
various aspects of the Maya community in order to understand their art. In my research, I have
discovered that the Maya people represent some of the most renowned communities in relation to
culture and artistic expressions. Living in the southern Mexico and northern Central America, the
Maya people consist of group of communities with shared cultural values and heritage (Smithsonian
National Museum of the American Indian 1). Considering the close relation of communities
comprising the Maya people, patterns of widely acceptable practices can be easily identified hence the
community culture. In my research, I have learned that there is close relations between cultural values
exhibited by the community and the artistic expressions. It is for this reason that most artifacts

The definition of customer service varies across organizations. Suppliers and their customers can view

Customer service can be defined as: a process which takes place between the buyer, seller and third

The Success Of World War I
In the year 1914, the Europeans were on edge because one country had found itself at war with
another and all powers would end up into a struggle. On one side, there were the Germans, standing in
the center of Europe with their efficient armies of their neighboring countries, France and Russia. The
Germans had treaty links to the nation of Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Turks. The two main sides
were the Allies, which included France, Great Britain, and Russia; and Germany and Austria Hungary.
Italy had been part of the Triple Alliance with Germany and Austria Hungary, but this disappeared by
1914. On the other side were the French, the Russians, and if the Germans attacked France, the
British. The French were worried about another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the domestic political scene, the Democrats expected serious losses in the congressional elections,
while the Republicans has won back some of the Progressive voters who had followed Roosevelt in
1912.
The Republicans split between Theodore Roosevelt and William Howard Taft to help Woodrow
Wilson win the election in 1912. Woodrow Wilson wanted a new domestic program called the New
Freedom which was enacted in 1913 1914. There were a few differences from the Wilson s fourteen
points and Roosevelt s progressivism which brought up many questions about what Wilson was trying
to do. The most important of Wilson s fourteen points the creation of the League of Nations was
adopted. Wilson was unable to get the Treaty of Versailles by the United States senate and ironically,
America never joined the League of Nations. The differences that surfaced up were whether society
should pursue social justice by doing more for the less fortunate. Years before World War I, optimism
about the future spread through the United States. The issues that had been identified in the domestic
affairs between 1901 and 1914 endured during World War I. By the end of World War I, over 9 million
soldiers had been killed and 21 million were wounded. World War I lasted till November 11th, 1918.
On February 4th, 1915, Germany declared the establishment of the war zone in the seas that

Precision And Accuracy Lab Report
Determining the Density of a Polystyrene Sphere with Precision and Accuracy
Abstract: The objective of the lab is to determine the volumes of the polystyrene spheres with three
different measuring tools: Water Displacement, Analytical Scale, and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The
experiment is meant to help understand the concept and application of precision and accuracy in
experimental measurements. Accuracy is a measure of how closely the results of repeated
measurements are to the true value of what is being measured. Precision is the variability in the results
from the repeated measurements, and how close the repeated measurements were to one another. In
this lab, the method for measuring the volume of the polystyrene spheres is done with the previously
stated tools: Water Displacement, Analytical Scale, and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The standard
deviation for the entire classes volumes and masses are recorded to determine the densities.
Introduction: Accuracy and precision were the major aspects of the lab. Accuracy is how close the
average of the measured values are to the actual value. Precision is the closeness of repeated
measurements. In the lab, the aim was to get as close as possible with both accuracy and precision
when determining the mass and volume of the spheres. The mass was determined by weighing the
spheres on the Analytical Scale and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The volume is determined by
measuring with a ruler and by water displacement. The standard

Trust In Julius Caesar Essay
I m not entirely sure who has been able to guess this minor fact about me, although I think it may be
only slightly obvious. I have serious trust issues. Where they stem from one could only guess. It could
be from humanity s uncanny ability to show a magnificent display of its love for betrayal and
watching those around me find their role of Julius Caesar. In my long and (quite frankly) emotionally
disappointing career as a student, I have watched friends psychologically destroy and humiliate each
other time and time again. Frequently, people are destroyed by the information they provide to others
while under the illusion of trust. I find that the simplest solution to never getting stabbed in the back is
to not provide the dagger, but maybe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would not have the title of control freak if the people I found myself paired with were capable of
turning in adequate work on time. Alas, it is rarely ever so. Therefore, I am awarded the position of
Micromanager and Untrusting Person.
As safe as my closed off character keeps me, I sometimes wonder if I should be so okay with solitude.
To rely on people is to be human, and I do rely on people, but I also realize that my hate of
vulnerability might be preventing the life experiences that require trust. On the other hand, I guess I
would rather have a few best friends that know me well enough and a family that knows me slightly
better than many friends that could stab me in the back at any moment.
It might just be in my head, but anyone reading this piece (or really anything I write) might be gaining
the perception that I am a fairly negative person. That assumption would be half right. I might not be
above assuming that all people are capable of leaking secrets if it causes any personal gain. I might not
be above the unfortunate belief that anyone might do anything if the right price is found. Privately (or
maybe not so privately), I understand that the world is screwed up worse than even I could possibly
imagine. However, for a pessimist, by all standards, I actually have quite a sunny disposition. I am
definitely not to be confused for the naturally happy sort, but I do

After having had two prior complaints stricken, Plaintiffs continue to ignore well settled authority that proper pleadings are essential to the judicial process . As the Illinois Appellate Court in Rubino v. Circuit City Stores, Inc., 324 Ill. App. 3d 931, 938 (1st Dist. 2001), opined: Concise and clear pleadings are vital to the administration of justice. No party should be called upon to answer or defend the redundant, jumbled and cryptic pleadings filed by plaintiff s counsel, and no court should be forced to expend so much time and energy attempting to decipher them. The systems are usually introduced and planted by a team of administrators or teachers that develop intervention plans. These intervention plans are referred to as positive behavioral support systems that usually assist students with behavioral or academic difficulties. In 1972, it was learned during the Mills vs. the D.C. Board of Education case that diverse learners were not receiving the same educational opportunities as other students because of their behavior. Congress understood that there was a need for diverse learners and evidence based approaches were needed, in order to assure proper modifications for students. Positive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Positive Behavioral Support and Interventions are necessary to maintain a healthy school atmosphere, and achievements amongst all students. It is important to understand each level of students, and what may or may not be conducive to restraining spontaneous actions or responses. Oftentimes teachers face hardship in a classroom due to classroom management discrepancies. In some cases, classroom management is difficult because of unruly behaviors from students, or not being accurately prepared for students with challenging behaviors. By implementing these special systems, team members/school staff become aware of necessary steps to deal with aggressive, violent, and rebellious behaviors that usually disrupt classroom instructions. In my experience within the educational field, positive behavioral intervention plans are introduced by trial and error. Many times there are interventions that are already in place to support behaviors within a school. While other times special teams meet to introduce pilot interventions to provide stronger support. Many times students that are identified at diverse learners are sent through a process that will develop an individualized educational plan (IEP) or 504 plan for them. The IEP usually identifies any behavioral, physical, or academic challenges that could occur that may prevent the student from learning, and cause interruptions within the ... People who committed crimes in the 16th century had to face serious punishments, such as the rack, weight placed on breast, and were placed on a sharp stone. Not to mention in this time period, people were living in poverty and some people could not find money to buy food for their families. The population of England was growing faster than food resources. One result of this was occasional and localized food shortages so severe as to occasion hunger, starvation, and death (Morgan 288). In addition, many people did not have money even to buy basic things they needed to survive and many of them became criminals in the eye of the 16th century law. In the article How to Pay for College , it says that with hard work students can earn scholarships, apply for financial aid, finance loans, and take on a part time job to pay for college. However, there is plenty of evidence proving otherwise. Due to the rising costs of tuition and the restrictions to getting financial aid, it is almost impossible for lower and middle class citizens to afford college. Loans leave students in debt and scholarships are not always a sure thing. With a part time job, putting in too many hours of work can interfere with ones sleep and actual study time. Recently a study was done on the average college students ability to pay for college with a part time job. Randy Olsen, a computer science graduate research assisstant at Michigan State University, crunched the numbers for both Michigan State and all public universities in the U.S. The average tuition cost at an in state public university is $8,709 not including room and board, books and supplies, personal care, and transportaton fees. Research shows that the amount of hours needed to work to pay for college tuition with a part time minimum wage job has more than tripled since the year 1979. It is now a lot harder to work your way through college than it was 37 years ago. Many people in America miss the chance at pursuing a higher education. The Glass Palace By Amitav Ghosh The Glass Palace Amitav Ghosh explores different storytelling forms and complicates the picture of pre and postcolonial South Asian identity in his fourth novel The Glass Palace1. His ambitious epic tells the stories of a cast of characters, royal working clogs, and bourgeois Indians, Bengalis, and Burmese as they grapple with their sense of place and self while violent historical events reshape twentieth century Burma and India2 . Amitav Ghosh s The Glass Palace is an evocation of the recent past of the glorious culture and eventual of Burma along with the gradual erosion of its social structure as well as economic self sufficiency. The novel cuts across three generations of Indians who make Burma their home and leaves it under the onslaught of Japanese invasion. Schubert s music is well known for its melody and harmony. Although he was a fantastic composer, his music did not become as recognized until he had already passed. His vocal contributions were written for both male and female voices, as well as mixed voices. Schubert is considered to be a Romantic composer for many reasons, some being were that he combined Romantic poetry and music, and that he was extremely emotional which led to his melodies and feelings. Along the way she encounters several obstacles. Welty throughout the story the author makes several points to connect this work to other famous works of literature to strengthen her character without directly doing so. The author uses imagery to recreate famous parts of The Bible also the main character s name, Phoenix Jackson is a reference to the mystical bird the phoenix which is a symbol for rebirth. Phoenix Jackson symbolically is reborn several times throughout the story. The stories title and main plot point is the path she walks which holds many similarities to the path of life. The first story of the bible that the author relates to A Worn Path is the story of moses parting the red sea. This was illustrated in paragraph twenty eight Parting her way from side to side with her cane.. The secondary sources will draw on qualitative research such as, participant observation, interviews, and ethnographic accounts to analyze the topic. The process of this research project will use a deductive approach. A deductive approach is researching from a broad topic and narrowing it down to a more specific topic. This is ideal for this project because there is an immense amount of research done on the development of children and parenting, so therefore this project will narrow down to a specific aspect of these two topics and create new information. Secondary research methods include analyzing and gathering existing literature on the researchers topic. Secondary research methods can be challenging because the existing literature might not address the researchers questions directly and it might not be current or valid. • 13. How Human Beings Can Conserve Primate As Valuable Species Animals and human beings come into contact with each other in the different environment across the world. This has been fostered by human settlement in most regions that were delegated for animals. Whenever there is a contact between human and animals, there is a chance for the development of a relationship. Although human beings are familiar with the interaction of companion animals like cats, human animal interaction also occurs in the context of farms, laboratories and in the wilderness (Davis, Schaffner, Smith 2005). Repeated relationship can lead to developing long term friendly relationship between animals and human beings involved. Various studies have been developed in an attempt of developing the most critical and rational measures that can be utilized to enhance and develop a human animal relationship (Campbell, Shideler, Todd, Lasley 2001). These research studies have in majority concentrated on domesticated species. This research paper is developed to critically analyze the human primate relationship. The study critically is developed to show how human beings can conserve primate as valuable species. The primate is used to refer to the group of mammals that are intelligent and most developed in comparison to other animals. • 15. Human Population And Its Impact On The Environment All populations of species are limited to a specific number, called its carrying capacity, which refers to the ability of an ecosystem to support their needs. Once a population grows to the point where it extends past the limit, the environment no longer has the capacity to support them and individuals must die to stabilize the population. Humans are no exception to this rule, as their populations are constrained by such density dependent factors as the availability of food, land, and other resources. Growth in the human population in particular, profoundly worsens the effect on the environment as well, based on the IPAT equation which states that population directly contributes to environmental impact. With the rapid growth that the human population is undergoing, researchers predict that humanity is overshooting their carrying capacity and will soon face a collapse; however, the ability to use technology to efficiently maximize resource allocation while minimizing environmental impact raises a debate of whether or not humans will be able to continue living as they are now. The article, Limits to Growth was Right by the Guardian evaluates the predictions put forth in the book, Limits to Growth, according to recent studies from the University of Melbourne. Every chapter is important to what the end of the story is going to be. I think this story of a china rabbit finding his way back home had more plot twists than I thought this story would have. The first lesson that I will tell you will be to never give up hope on love, but to always know that somebody will find room in their hearts for you. When you figure out what love is, your heart will grow even bigger. Love can bring together the love of others around them. But love can also bring effect on others that have not seen what love can do to them. Love is not the impact of how expensive your belongings are. Nothing is more expensive than the price of love. And that s one of the lessons that I have learned from the book that I have read. In the beginning I read pages 5 thru 7 where edward specifically said: The china rabbit was in possession of an extraordinary wardrobe composed of handmade silk suits, custom shoes fashioned from the finest leather and designed specifically for his rabbit feet, and a wide array of hats equipped with holes so that they could easily fit over edward s large and expressive ears. It is soon evident that The Divine Comedy is in terms of an allegory. Midway through his life, Dante finds himself lost and in darkness. He is confused and unaware of how he has ended up in these dark woods. Dante soon comes across Italian poet Virgil, who will guide him through the Nine Circles of Hell. Dante Alighieri s The Divine Comedy: Inferno portrays Dante s life and adventure through Hell which allegorically represents a much broader subject: man s journey through life to salvation. The Divine Comedy: Inferno begins when Dante is midway through life and he has lost his way. In the starting lines, Dante claims, Midway in our life s journey, I went astray From the straight road and woke To find myself Alone in a dark wood. Dante declares that he has strayed away from the straight road. In Dante s allegory, the straight road symbolizes the right and virtuous path that leads to God. Mankind must be constantly seeking morality, and once man begins to lose sight of this righteousness, they will begin to abandon God s honest path. In order to remain on the right path, man must carefully strive for virtue and be aware of their sins. Not knowing how he wandered away from the straight road, Dante finds himself in an eerie, dark wood. • 21. The Search For Happiness Happiness is something that everyone, regardless of their background and experiences, search for in life. This search for happiness is manifested in countless novels, theatrical plays, and films, and involves at least one character who struggles to find purpose and joy in their life. A common theme in these stories is the character s impression that there is something missing or inadequate with aspects of their current identity. Thus, they believe that they must complete the missing piece of themselves to achieve happiness. This is best demonstrated by Amedeo/Ahmed in A Clash of Civilizations Over an Elevator in Piazza Vittorio and Xavier in L Auberge Espagnole. I believe that one s conceptualization of their identity is actually an obstacle to happiness and that one can only be truly happy once they embrace their true identity, which is often much different from the one they imagine. A Clash of Civilizations Over an Elevator in Piazza Vittorio by Amara Lakhous focuses extensively on the importance of identity in one s life, mainly in relation to ethnicity and religion. Identity plays such an important role in the characters lives that it dominates the way the perceive each other, leading them to radical and often negative conclusions. For example, when interviewed about a murder, the character Benedetta makes statements like I m suspicious of that Albanian friend of Amadeo s (Lakhous 36) and I m sure the murderer of Lorenzo Manfredini is one of the immigrants (Lakhous ... However, can the power of intelligence be considered a negative aspect? In the play, Hamlet written by William Shakespeare, the topic of intelligence is a predominant theme that is woven through two of the main characters: Hamlet and Claudius. Although Hamlet and Claudius are sworn enemies, they are much more similar in character than meets the eye. Even though Hamlet appears to be insane, he actually deceives the other characters to retaliate his father s wicked murder. Hamlet s strong use of words and his significant soliloquies shows that he is well aware of what is happening around him. Similarly, Claudius is truly the king of deception and trickery. Although, he seems to have the whole kingdom fooled about his identity, Hamlet is the only one who is able to use his intelligence to see through the King s façade. Similarly, Hamlet s insanity appears to deceive everyone, except Claudius, who believes there is something more to it. Both Claudius and Hamlet use intelligence to gain power, to discover the concealed truth, and ultimately to get revenge. Firstly, Hamlet and Claudius use intelligence to gain power. It is one of the largest and most energetic explosions in space (S1). A supernova can briefly outshine an entire galaxy and radiate more energy than our sun will in its lifetime. That is about same brightness of 10 million suns (S2). Supernovae happen about every 50 years in a galaxy about the size of the Milky Way, which could be about every second in our universe (S3). Supernovae can happen in two ways depending on the mass of the star; Type I or Type II. A Type I supernova happens when the star steals matter from a neighbor until a nuclear reaction ignites. Type I supernovae are generally thought to come from white dwarf stars only in binary star systems (S1). A white dwarf star is what stars like our sun become after they have used up their nuclear fuel. • 31. Device That Can Be Thought As A Gun device that can be thought as a gun. The second screen has a surface that can record or detect any wave or particle that manages to pass through the slits and strike the screen. As will be seen, sometime the researcher will open just one slit and other times both slits. The experiment is conducted in stages in order to contrast waves from particles. In the first stage a series of bullets (particles) will be fired toward the barrier with one slit open. As expected a vertical pattern of bullet holes will appear behind slit 1. After opening the second slit and firing another volley, a second vertical pattern will appear right next to the first one. In other words the bullets behave just like particles in accordance with classical physics as would be expected. In stage two a monochromatic light (light with just one wavelength) will be emitted toward the screen. This is in contrast to the light from a normal light bulb that is composed of many differing wavelengths (making it difficult to observe the interference pattern). The second screen is coated with a chemical that illuminates when impacted by light. When the monochromatic light is emitted with only one slit open, a pattern of brightness appears just behind the slit. But with both slits open an interference pattern is observed consisting of bright bands where constructive interference occurred and dark bands where destructive interference occurred. Again, this is just what is expected. In the third stage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. History Of Health Care Reform History of Health Care Reform Our country has been on the cusp of health care reform several times throughout history. It has evolved from strictly a patient and physician system to numerous other parties in the equation from patients, physicians, hospitals, insurance carriers and government programs to name a few. The latest health care reform came with passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) signed into law on March 23, 2010. This new law is a conglomerate of the many attempts at health care reform throughout the years. In the early 1900 s, healthcare was aimed at protecting workers from lost wages and medical expenses while they were sick (Hoffman, 2003). President Truman proposed universal health insurance but it was seen as socialized medicine and the legislation never passed (Oberlander, 2012). He did manage to pass the Social Security Act of 1935 that later became the basis for Medicare and Medicaid (Hoffman C. , 2009). Military Medicare was passed in 1956 that provided health care benefits for military dependents. Employer based insurance continued to grow during this time. As health care was becoming more difficult to get for older Americans and the sick, the U.S. government became involved and passed Medicare/Medicaid legislation on July 30, 1965 (Taylor, 2014). Medicare Part A to pay for hospital care, skilled nursing and home health, optional Medicare Part B to pay for physician care, and Medicaid, to assist states in covering ... Pact Of Silence While the setting of the novel, Barcelona, was essentially the center of the deadly Spanish Civil War, when the author Zafón was writing the story, Barcelona (along with the rest of Spain) was engaged in what was known as the pact of silence (Bethune 65). This pact of silence was fragile in every nature, with citizens and government members alike choosing to keep quiet and not to stir the national demons. Following several years of civil war, Spain was placed under the dictatorial rule of Francisco Franco, who remained dictator until his death in 1975 (Bethune 65). It was after Franco s death that the pact of silence was put into practice as a kind of national safeguard, in some ways allowing the citizens of Spain to be able to relax again without having to constantly be reminded of the war s deadly consequences. ... The war was split between the rightists and leftists, with the leftists being the party in charge of the democratic government that was enacted. Eventually, the left completely lost control and engaged in what was called arming the people, which meant giving weapons and de facto power to the revolutionary organizations ( Spanish Civil War ). When the democratic government failed, Francisco Franco, rightist commander in chief of the military insurgents, installed himself as dictator and chief of state. This natural satellite was not formed long after Earth about 4.5 billion years ago. The gravitational forces continue to keep the moon in orbit of Earth. Even though it appears so, the moon does not physically produce light but it does reflect light from the sun (which is why we are able to see it). It takes our Moon 27.3 days to completely cycle through the Lunar month, which has eight phases. Through these different phases we see it lit from different angles and this depends upon the position of the Moon in its orbit. These phases include; the new moon, waning crescent, third quarter, waning gibbous, full moon, waxing gibbous, first quarter, waxing crescent and this process repeats. ... As the moon changes position in correspondence with the sun it creates the lunar phases. Have you ever wondered why we can t see the far side of the moon? If the moons rotation was faster or slower or if it did not rotate at all we could see even a glimpse of the far side. This is all from the cause of gravity as the pull from the Earth to the moon has slowed its speed of rotation therefore its orbit of the Earth is synchronised with its time of ... Moreover, these differences stem from the different perceptions of the parents, teachers, children, and even the school psychologist. The differences can also be attributed to the differences in the child s behavior across contexts. This information is important to acknowledge and understand for many reasons. We are different. What a parent might constitute as a poor behavior, might be seen as an acceptable behavior by the teacher. It all goes back to culture and what each person truly believes to be important and/or meaningful. This also made me think of other courses that we have taken where we were required to observe a child, as well as operationally define a target behavior. The operational definition of the behavior helps to ensure that anyone can observe the same behavior without confusion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 36. Marc Chagall And Frida Kahlo INTRODUCTION The use of symbols is a powerful means used by the artists to connect with the viewer on a personal or universal level. These symbolic messages give strength and meaning to artworks and are achieved through the artist s choice of media, techniques and imagery . Two artists who exemplify this use of symbolism are Marc Chagall and Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo was an artist, moulded by the context of her personal life, who is commemorated for her use of symbolism in her many auto biographical artworks. Kahlo, born on July 6th 1907 in Coyocoán, Mexico City, suffered though many problematic circumstances. At age 6 Kahlo was diagnosed with polio and, was then bedridden for nine months. The disease damaged her right foot and leg which resulted in her forming a permanent limp. (Biography.com Editors , 2017) At age eighteen Kahlo was then involved in a horrific accident when she was on a bus and their vehicle collided with a streetcar. The accident forced a steel rail to impale Kahlo from the front of her hip right through to the other side. These fractures to her hips, ribs, collarbones, feet and shoulders caused her to be surrounded by a full body cast, which started her love for art. She began painting images on her cast, one by one, using her spare time to pursue her new found love. In 1929 Kahlo married the well known artist, Diego Rivera. Their relationship was tumultuous and soon resulted in their divorce in 1939. This heartbreak caused Kahlo to become overwhelmed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mayan Painting Artist At Bonampak Scott Castruita Art Appreciation Deborah Gustlin Dec 8, 2014 Mayan Mural Painter at Bonampak My name is Scott Castruita and I live in Gilroy and I am 26 years old. Being an art student, I have learned that artist reflect certain aspects of their community while preparing any artistic product. This trend has been in existence for a long time ever since the discovery of art in ancient communities. However, I must admit that most of us in the modern communities do not appreciate art to the extent that it deserves. In order to understand and appreciate art, people must have knowledge of its place in time. As such, I took an initiative of unraveling the Mayan Mural Painter at Bonampak by investigating various aspects of the Maya community in order to understand their art. In my research, I have discovered that the Maya people represent some of the most renowned communities in relation to culture and artistic expressions. Living in the southern Mexico and northern Central America, the Maya people consist of group of communities with shared cultural values and heritage (Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian 1). Considering the close relation of communities comprising the Maya people, patterns of widely acceptable practices can be easily identified hence the community culture. Woodrow Wilson wanted a new domestic program called the New Freedom which was enacted in 1913 1914. There were a few differences from the Wilson s fourteen points and Roosevelt s progressivism which brought up many questions about what Wilson was trying to do. • 45. Precision And Accuracy Lab Report Determining the Density of a Polystyrene Sphere with Precision and Accuracy Abstract: The objective of the lab is to determine the volumes of the polystyrene spheres with three different measuring tools: Water Displacement, Analytical Scale, and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The experiment is meant to help understand the concept and application of precision and accuracy in experimental measurements. Accuracy is a measure of how closely the results of repeated measurements are to the true value of what is being measured. Precision is the variability in the results from the repeated measurements, and how close the repeated measurements were to one another. In this lab, the method for measuring the volume of the polystyrene spheres is done with the previously stated tools: Water Displacement, Analytical Scale, and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The standard deviation for the entire classes volumes and masses are recorded to determine the densities. Introduction: Accuracy and precision were the major aspects of the lab. Accuracy is how close the average of the measured values are to the actual value. Precision is the closeness of repeated measurements. In the lab, the aim was to get as close as possible with both accuracy and precision when determining the mass and volume of the spheres. The mass was determined by weighing the spheres on the Analytical Scale and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The volume is determined by measuring with a ruler and by water displacement. The standard ...
