Star History
The life cycle of a star is dependent on its mass. The larger the mass, the quicker it will die out,
whereas stars which are no more than half the size of our Sun can live up to hundreds of billion years.
However no matter how large the star is, they all begin their lives in a nursery known as a molecular
cloud.
A molecular cloud is a giant condensation of dust and molecular gas. They are regions of relatively
dense interstellar gas and dust with hydrogen molecules as well as carbon and silicate materials
forming the primary constituents. Helium and small amounts of heavier elements are also found
within the cloud. Molecular clouds are very cold and dark regions with typical temperatures of
between 10 and 50 Kelvin. The mass of a typical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The amount of fuel and the rate at which nuclear fusion occurs depends on the mass of the star. The
mass of a star is the determining factor of how long it lives. A red dwarf star is a star about half the
size of our Sun. Due to its extremely low fusion rate, it is estimated that they could last for 10 trillion
years. A medium sized star like our Sun spends its main sequence stage up to 10 billion years.
Stars like our Sun, which are no more than 1.44 solar masses, will undergo fusion of hydrogen into
helium. Over its life time the star slowly uses its supply of hydrogen by fusing it into helium. These
reactions require high temperatures. Eventually the star will completely fuse hydrogen into helium in
its core leaving inadequate amounts of thermal pressure to balance gravity. This will cause the centre
of the star to contract to compensate for the heat energy lost.
As this slow contraction continues, the core temperature, density, and pressure of the star continues to
increase. As the star shrinks it becomes so dense that it starts to compress helium. This results in the
star to swell due to the hot core and leaving a relatively cool surface. Eventually the outer layers of the
star expand outwards, increasing the size of the star. As the layers continue to expand, the surface
temperature continues to cool, forming a relatively large star called a red giant.
In about 5 billion years, the Sun will become a red giant. A red giant is a star which has completely

Endangered Animals
The world is facing many serious issues in this day and time. One of the major one is endangered
species. These organisms are living on the edge of extinction. There are many things that threaten
these species like loss of habitat, lack of food, hunting and many more. The victim of this horrendous
crime against living organisms is the fastest running mammal called Cheetah, scientifically known as
Acinonyx jubatus .
Cheetahs are true carnivores which means they depend on meat for survival. They use high speed to
easily hunt their prey. Primary diet of cheetah consists of springbok, ostriches, impala, deer, gazelles,
warthogs, birds, hares, young zebras etc. These animals tend to target younglings because of the
greater rate of success. And while hunting these species like to stalk their prey for 10 50m and then
start sprinting towards it. During this time frame, their bodies are under immense strain and pressure
as a result their body temperature rises to its highest.
These mammals live in the dry grasslands of sub Saharan Africa, and in eastern and southern parks.
Some can also be found in southern Algeria, northern Niger and Iran. Today Namibia has the largest
population of cheetahs living in Africa. It is very hard to believe that these species use to roam around
nearly all of Africa and much of Asia, but now they are driven out of 91% of its historic range. These
animals are nearly extinct in Asia, only around 50 of these individual are living in isolated areas of

Essay On Anti Vietnam Movement
The topic I selected was the Anti vietnam war movement. I selected this topic because it was one of
the most interesting topics available. Also this topic was a very important part of history. These
movements helped make women a more important part of american history and proved that they
weren t just supposed to be stay at home wives. This topic also was the one my grandma choose to be
interviewed over because she knew a lot about the anti war movement. In conclusion this topic was
the one I felt would be the best to learn about and see what it was like to be around during the Vietnam

Grandma thought it was a very important movement. It was especially important because it was the
first time the media brought attention to the war. Do you know when you started first hearing about
these movements? My grandma heard it on the news when Vietnam was evacuated. She was 13 during
that time. That s the only time she was aware of the movement. How did the movement make you

Brilliant Lies by David Williamson shows that sexual harassment is a twisted combination of sex and
power. Susy Conner uses sex to gain power, Gary Fitzgerald uses power to gain sex and Brian Conner

Story Of Jonah Research Paper
What is the first thing that pops into your head when you think of the story of Jonah? Most people will
explain him as a prophet who got swallowed by a fish. But, there is also more to that story. The story
of Jonah starts out with a man who worshiped God. Then, is called on by God to help the city of
Nineveh but turns away. In the end, he does the right thing and saves a lot of people. Through this
story, we are able to learn a great lesson about God and his relationship with Jonah along with Jonah s
remarkable story.
Jonah, son of Amittai, lived in Israel during the reign of Jeroboam 2, around 793 753 B.C. In the
Bible, Jonah s family is not mentioned much and they are only known as the parents of the prophet
Jonah. Jonah was a strong follower of God and he served the Lord gladly. At the time, Assyria was a
threat to Jonah s city. So, when Jonah s contemporaries, Amos and Hosea, said that God was going to
use Assyria as an instrument of punishment against his people, the Israelites were slightly glad. That is
when God called Jonah to Assyria to, cry out against wickedness in the city of Nineveh. ... Show more

The Effects Of Alcohol Abuse On The Body
Alcohol abuse can also cause short term effects to the body. Although there are many different short
term effects, the most common happens to be a hangover which is a group of symptoms experienced
by a person after a heavy consumption of alcohol (Alcoholic 1). Symptoms of a hangover often
consist of nausea, fatigue, thirst, headache, diarrhea, and sensitivity to light and noise. The severity of
a hangover depends on several factors; these factors include the amount of alcohol consumed, the
level of hydration in the body at the time of alcohol consumption, and disease. Although hangovers
are the most common short term effect, blackouts are also a short term result of alcohol abuse.
Consuming large amounts of alcohol can lead to temporary amnesia where the person is unable to
recall events that occurred after he or she began drinking. Unfortunately, blackouts can lead to serious
repercussions, especially if the person is engaged in sexual activity during that time. Blackouts are
much more common among social drinkers than previously assumed and should be viewed as a
potential consequence of acute intoxication regardless of age (National 1). Drinkers who experience
blackouts typically drink too much and too quickly, which causes their blood alcohol levels to rise
very rapidly. Typically, college students are at risk for experiencing a blackout, as an alarming number
of college students engage in binge drinking. Even though these short term effects do not seem as bad

Epipen Research Paper
There is no doubt that the study of chemistry has changed the world dramatically. Under the right
circumstances, many advances in the realm of chemistry can save lives. The EpiPen® has been a
wonderful chemical developed tool, aiding in potentially lethal allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis.
It is important to understand what an EpiPen® is, and how it works to one day save a life if necessary.
What will further be discussed is what an EpiPen® is, how it is made, used, and how it works
chemically in the human body.
The EpiPen® is an auto injecting pen made with epinephrine. Epinephrine commonly known as
adrenaline, is a chemical compound with the formula C9H13NO3. Epinephrine is a sympathomimetic
hormone, meaning a hormone that produces physiological effects in the body from the sympathetic
nervous system.2 Epinephrine, or adrenaline is naturally produced in the adrenal medulla. Upon its
release in the body, causes vasoconstriction or the shrinking of blood vessels, stimulates the heart, and

Masculinity In Football
Within American culture and society professional sports, especially football, has always been a major
component. It has been used for entertainment as well as promoting and encouraging qualities and
values in those who play like good sportsmanship and how to work as a team. But is that the only
thing it promotes? Football is essentially a battle to obtain power over the other team using strength
and knowledge in order to win fame and money. In order to gain power one must be stronger, more
masculine, and in most cases more violent. While football does reflect many great ideals about our
society it also reflects back to us many negative ideals. Football reflects back to us and even

This shaming allows the players to begin to question their masculinity and creates the idea that they
re, quote on quote, feminine . This shifts their playing style to instead of thinking through the
difficulties and questioning things, to reacting to the shame in quick bursts of thoughtless behavior
and aggression. This plays into the idea that femininity does not create strong people and results in
sexism within our society. This use of shame is not only just individually but also is used against the
team as a whole and creates a false perception of how to encourage the right behavior. Shame feeds
off the idea of guilt as an encourager rather than the idea to persevere and win from hard work and
knowledge. This shaming can be seen in other instances like in schools, in the business world, and
even against women who have been sexually assaulted. We begin to believe and expect that shaming
someone will increase the likelihood that people will change and begin to win , when that s not always

The Toronto FC and their Use of International Talent
INTRODUCTION
The Toronto Football Club (TFC) is a relatively new MLS franchise that has seen immense growth in
recent years which consequently makes it an excellent candidate for the analysis of the underlying
economic principles that govern its newfound success. One factor that makes the Toronto FC so
interesting is its unique labour market that highlights the distinct relationship between labour supply
and labour demand. It is well known that the MLS is one of the smallest sanctioned professional level
soccer organizations on a global scale. It is dwarfed by its European counter parts in both viewership
and revenue. However, in recent years there has been an unprecedented increase in world class ...

There is no disputing that international players are more talented than domestic players. In 2014
through 2016 the MLS league leader boards were completely dominated solely by international
players in both goals and assists. There is a definite correlation between the number of international
players on a teams roaster and the number of points they get in a season. This creates an interesting
situation. The franchises who can afford to purchase expensive all star international players like the
TFC will be able perform better. But smaller franchises that are less capable of investing in well

black armbands throughout the entire duration of the holiday season, and fasting on December 16,

Basic Facts Behind Morse v. Frederick Student Joseph Frederick held a banner that said Bong Hits 4
Jesus during a school event. The banner was confiscated by the principal, Deborah Morse, and
Frederick was suspended for ten days. Deborah justified the confiscation of the banner and the
suspension of Joseph Frederick by mentioning a policy set by the school that doesn t allow the display
of material that advertises the consumption of illegal drugs. Joseph Frederick sued, claiming this
suspension and confiscation of his banner violated his right to free speech (42 U.S.C. 1983) The
Tinker v. Des Moines trial was cited, that extended 1st Amendment s protection to free speech in
students, unless the speech would cause some level of disturbance. Court Decision The court decided
that school officials are allowed to prohibit messages that promotes the use of illegal drugs. Although

Gomer And Hosea
The book of Hosea has to be one of the oddest books of the entire Bible to some. Who would have
ever thought that God would have asked his obedient and faithful prophet Hosea to go and take a
prostitute to be his wife? There is a common knowledge that God can use anything for His glory.
Therefore, as odd as Hosea and Gomer s story is, it is not exempt from glorifying God. God s love is
unfailing and unconditional for all of humanity and that was proven in and through the love story of
Hosea and Gomer. In this paper, I will cover God s peculiar instructions for Hosea, Hosea and Gomer
s story, Hosea s heartbreak, the state of Israel during this time, and God s unfailing love for Israel.
God s Peculiar Instructions for Hosea In Hosea 1:2, God gives Hosea instructions to go out and marry
an adulterous wife and have children of unfaithfulness. God told Hosea to do this because Israel is
guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the Lord. In the next verse, Hosea married Gomer, and
Gomer had three children back to back and God told Hosea to name them names that represented His
broken relationship with Israel (Hosea 1:4 8).

Hosea 14:4: I will heal their backsliding. I will love them freely. Gomer did not deserve that kind of
forgiveness. Neither did the Israelites. God s love extends beyond the limits of humanity s sinful

Descriptive Essay About Soccer City
Hidden deep in the streets of Sunny Ridge, a neighborhood, lies a whole new soccer world open to
everyone. Soccer City brings an exhalating sports atmosphere that anyone that is willing to learn to
play soccer can excel. As guests walk in through the doors of the entrance at soccer city all they hear
are the thunderous roars of a soccer ball being kicked against the walls. The trainlike whistles of the
referees stopping the ball for a foul, all while trying to calm the opposing teams from getting into an
argument. The smell of hard work, but mostly sweat of the players trying to score for their teams.
These are just a few of the components that makes soccer city such a wonderful place unlike any
other. Soccer City, with all of its components, really outlines the true identity of soccer and how
everyone of all ages can come together to play a game and work towards a common goal; to score
goals.
When walking through the entrance at soccer city the complete floorplan of the whole indoor complex
can be seen below. In the center of the complex, there are benches to rest on, and a concession stand
facing right in that direction. This encourages players to sit down and take a bite as they anxiously
wait for their game or just for visitors grab a snack and watch soccer. Since the benches and the
concession area is centered in the middle of the complex on both sides there is a soccer field that
allows for the accommodation of eating while watching these warlike games going on as players seem
to fight each other vigorously chasing down a ball that keeps on rolling. This effect of having the
concession stand allows the aroma of food to be around in the air and it makes the customers that
come to ply soccer also eat at soccer city and not elsewhere which further increases sales at soccer city
by people buying food there between games and not eating at any other restaurants Upon walking
through the doors, the loud chatter of people urgently calling for teammates to get the ball, or the
thunderous sounds the ball makes when it hits against the field walls soon fills ears and connects
people instantly with the live atmosphere. This noisy atmosphere isn t for everyone but for those
rowdy soccer players this is paradise.

Compare And Contrast Young Goodman Brown And The Lottery
Introduction Nathaniel Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown and Shirley Jackson s The Lottery both
tell stories using literary techniques of tone, symbolism, and irony that help to convey stories that
leave the reader baffled by their ending. Although Hawthorne and Jackson utilize these literary
techniques in a different way, both of the stories end with a sense of darkness.
Tone
Hawthorne and Jackson have set different tones for their stories. Nathaniel Hawthorne creates a tone
that is somber and serious throughout most of the story of Yong Goodman Brown . The story tells of a
man, Goodman Brown, discovering evil. Even though Goodman Brown has apprehension about going
on the journey in the forest, he allows his curiosity to get the best of him and decides to attend the evil
ceremony in the forest. The tone of the story corresponds with the action occurring in the plot as one
of somberness. Brown goes along in his journey expecting something evil to take place. After learning
the nature of evil, he begins to feel that he is constantly surrounded by evil. This changes his attitude
from his background of piety and faith to a dark place that suspects evil in everything including his
wife. Unlike Young Goodman Brown , the tone of The Lottery begins with an anticipation of ... Show

Comparative Character Analysis of Classical Vs. Modern Tragic Protagonists.
A hero/ heroine is described as the principal male/ female character in a literary or dramatic work or
the central figure in an event, period, or movement. The classic tragic hero was defined by Aristotle in
the fourth century as, someone who is highly renowned and prosperous (LATWP, 639), suggesting
that there is a natural right ordering and proportion of traits within the human being that if violated,
produces calamity (LATWP, 639). The book goes on to define classical tragedy as one that involves
the inevitable destruction of a noble person by means of character flaw, usually a disproportionate

mate and was later translated by Henry Yule (266). Marco Polo is a son to Nicolo Polo a trader who
entered the city of Cambaluc a center of Chinese civilization in the Yuan period (266). Marco was
subsequently captured and put in prison and this book was created out of the stories he was telling his
cell mate while they were passing time at the Genoese prison (266). By reading through this book; we
can explore more about its content plus citation, its communication as well as context, and its
connection and conclusion (266). The first items the author portrays in this document are its contents
plus citation. In the contents section, the main ideas depicted are idolatry, innovations, and the
superstition (275). For instance, it was narrated that the people within the society at that time practiced
Idolatry. They loved and adore their rule the Great Khan, to extend that some were calling him lord of
lords, but his real name was Cublay (266).The worshipping of the leader in the society also can be
seen during ceremonies like birthdays that were held at the court. For example, at any court occasion,
the leader s table was elevated above the others and at some point people could drop on their knees to
make a deeper obeisance before him (269).The narrator also indicates that Cathayans were idolaters,
because they posses gods and as regards to their gods, each god had a table

How Do Driverless Cars Drive Themselves
How do Driverless Cars Drive Themselves? Manufacturers across the globe like Tesla, Mercedes
Benz, BMW, Google, Apple, and Audi are all in a race to produce the most efficient way of travel. The
most efficient seems to be driverless cars, before they were an unachievable dream, but now they are a
reality. Although the most difficult concept of this all is to figure out how they work. Driverless cars
are a new technology made from many older technologies combined, such as the LIDAR system,
Computer Vision systems, and Central Hub computer systems. Investments from some countries like
the U.K., who has invested 100 million pounds (130 million U.S.), have driven some of these
companies to field test the cars in everyday environments in places ... Show more content on

The system is quite similar to sonar and radar, but the only difference would be that LIDAR uses
lasers while sonar and radar use sound and radio waves. What it does is it uses 64 rotating lasers send
micro pulses of light to see where everything is. It uses time of flight which is when it calculates how
long it takes the laser to hit the target and reflect back to the LIDAR system. Millions of data points
are taken every second and used to make a 3D map of its surroundings and used to show where the car
can and cannot go. The 3D map made by the LIDAR is processed by a system called the Computer
Vision. It is the only part of the car that can make sense of the 360 degree pictures taken by cameras.
What it does is look out for certain road markers a human would have to look out for such as, traffic
lights, road signs, and other cars. It also is constantly on the lookout for other unimportant things like
traffic cones, and the very important things like pedestrians. The last part of the driverless car system
is the Central Computer. The Central Computer reads the data the LIDAR and Computer Vision give
and decides where it will guide the car with the steering, acceleration, and brakes. This computer can
determine whether it will hit something directly in front of it or anticipate a possible car crash 200 feet

`` Mezzo Cammin `` By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow And When...
In the poems Mezzo cammin by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and When I have a fear by John keats,
both poems themes are about the imminence of death and their unfulfilled dreams in life. There are
many similarities in the poem but they are mostly in the beginning of the poems, the conclusion on the
other hand is not similar. In Mezzo cammin the main theme of the poem is the reminisce of his dreams
from the past. Keats poems emphasize a theme of the waste of a physical life and his fears associated
with this waste. The similarities seen in the poem are for most part in the beginning of the text. Long
fellow states that Half of his life is gone and Keats then states that may cease to be . They then
proceed to express their fears of not being able to accomplish the goals that they had. Long fellows
acknowledges his down falls from his past, stating The years slip from me and have not fulfilled the
aspirations of my youth, to build some tower of song with lofty parapet (lines 2 3). Keats fears are also
very similar as he uses the word Before multiple times, showing the reader his fears of dying before
achieving the life goals that he has. When reaching the second part of the poems, the reader starts to
see the differences between the poems. Keats starts to talk about the Cloudy symbols and the shadow .
It seems that Keats might believe that love is a predetermined life event, seeming as though he is
disappointed that he might of missed out on an

The Negative Effects Of Violence In Video Games
Think about it. Does violence in violent video games or role playing games increase violence and
aggression in the real world? Undoubtedly, violent role playing games nowadays are more intense
than ever. These role playing games with simulated violence are perilous for the kids. Surprisingly, In
a simulated role playing game called Killer , students play by shooting each other with water guns to
win money. Author Guy Martin write High Jinks: Shoot Out and tells us about this vehement game.
Games like Killer and other violent video games encourage violence. Not only do they encourage
violence, but they can actually harm the individual playing and distract teens from more important
things like school. Video games can be an opposing factor for many reasons.
According to the text High Jinks: Shoot Out by Guy Martin, the game Killer has a poor effect on the
kids playing and encourages violence. In the text, Martin explains how Killer is a last man standing
game with a pot of three hundred sixty dollars. Saying this, just the game itself is influencing teens to
shoot each other for money. Carey Benedicts in the article Shooting in the Dark says Playing the
games can and does stir hostile urges and mildly aggressive behavior in the short term. By saying this,
she assures that the behavior of individuals can change over time after constantly playing video games
with violence and they can become more aggressive. In the end of the article, Martin states, The game

A way that the tribes overcame this issue was by setting up different points and each drummer would
acknowledge the sender s message by a series of beats on the drum. After the message was confirmed
received then the message would be sent to the next receiver.
In the times of the American Indians, the tribes would use smoke signals as a form of wireless
communication. The downside to this form of communication was the limited distance based on line
of sight. Due to a limited alphabet and the issues, that the wind causes would increase the chances that
the communication would be lost or misinterpreted. Soon followed was the introduction of the
semaphore flag. The semaphore flag system is one used to convey information at a distance by using
signals with flags, paddles or gloved hands. The downside to this form of wireless communication is
that it is limited to line of sight as well, and that because this had to take place in the open the chances
of your message being stolen is increased.
Science that Drove Wireless Development
(Wenclewicz)
In the nineteenth century, light beams were used for short haul communications, particularly in
military contexts. Very detailed messages could be transmitted by a coded sequence (Morse code) of
blinking lights from sender to receiver. Again, this was effective over limited distances and provided a
quiet, yet visible means of communication. Drawbacks included limited

Montag s Influences in Farenheit 451 Essay
In the novel, FAHRENHEIT 451 by Ray Bradbury, Guy Montag lives in an inverted society, where
firemen make fires instead of put them out, and pedestrians are used as bowling pins for cars that are
excessively speeding. The people on this society are hypnotized by giant wall size televisions and
seashell radios that are attached to everyone s ears. People in Montag s society do not think for
themselves or even generate their own opinions; everything is given to them by the television stations
they watch. In this society, if someone is in possession of a book, their books are burned by the
firemen, but not only their books, but their entire home. Montag begins realizing that the things in this
society are not right. Montag is influenced and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The psychiatrist wants to know why I go out and hike around in the forests and watch the birds and
collect butterflies (Bradbury, 23). This quotation shows that Clarisse is considered different in this
society, and she must see a psychiatrist because she admires nature. Clarisse influences Montag by
admiring nature, because Montag is now starting to realize the beauty of nature, and beginning to
develop his own opinion. Clarisse strongly influenced Montag after her death. We cannot tell the
precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, that is a last drop
which makes it run over; so in a series of kindness there is at last one which makes the heart run over
(Bradbury, 71) This quotation shows that Montag is starting to have feelings unlike the rest of society.
Clarisse has come to influence Montag through her questions, her admiration of nature and her death.
Clarisse influenced Montag enough to get him to begin having feelings. Although Clarisse influenced
Montag to begin feeling emotions, the fire on Elm Street was a big influence for Montag. Secondly,
the fire at 11 Elm Street greatly influenced Montag. The fire showed Montag how important books
are. The fire also makes Montag curious about why books would be so important that the lady would

The Impact Of Food Quality On Food Industry
Food quality plays an important role in food industry. Currently, consumers demands on higher quality
of food products are increasing rapidly. Therefore, food industry is interested in analytical methods
which can provide low cost, fast, precise, and non destructive analysis on product quality (Gowen et
al., 2007). The researches on non destructive food quality analyzing technologies have gain significant
amount of interests (Chen et al., 2013; Lind and Murhed, 2012).
Machine vision, as a novel non destructive analyzing technology, has been widely studied and
employed in various industries (Davies, 2012). It can be applied to inspect raw materials or products
during manufacturing (Davies, 2013). Recently the applications of machine vision in food industry are
increasing rapidly since the developments in camera technology and the processing power of
computer hardware (Chen et al., 2013). Machine vision technology has many advantages such as
improving quality, increasing throughput, reducing waste, and reducing labor (Lind and Murhed,
2012). Generally, machine vision system includes image acquisition section and image processing
statistical pattern recognition section (Davies, 2013). The images processed by machine vision system
could be grey scale images, binary images, and conventional images took by normal camera; it also
could be images acquired from hyperspectral imaging, magnetic imaging, X ray imaging, ultrasound

Primary Source Analysis of Queen Elizabeth I Essay
This essay aims to analyse two historical primary sources in relation to Queen Elizabeth I, also known
as the Virgin Queen ; the essay will attempt to use the source in order to understand what it is able to
reveal about the past and her influence during her reign. The first source to be analysed consists of a
portrait of the Queen in her late sixties produced, apparently, by the French born artist Isaac Oliver in
the sixteen hundreds. In his portrait of the queen the artists, despite her age, presents Elizabeth I as a
healthy young woman who is still fit to rule her country; he maintains the idea of the Queen being an
iconic figure to look up to. The second source that will be analysed in order to understand the past is a

Furthermore, Queen Elizabeth I during her speech in Tilbury assigns herself the role of being the
general, judge, and the rewarder of every one of the virtues carried out by her troops on the field, the
term judge further endorses the notion of Elizabeth having the characteristics of a God as he is the true
judge who decides those to be rewarded with acceptance to Heaven or punished in hell. On the other
hand it can be argued that the sources are suggesting that the Queen is not being portrayed as a God,
instead highlighting her devotion and reliance on religion. For example, in both sources it is clear that
the Queen was concerned about the religious aspects of her rule and therefore attempts to incorporate
it in everything she does. In the Rainbow Portrait the eyes and ears decorating her dress may simply
be showing that Elizabeth puts all her trust in God to lead her to victory. This is similar in her speech
when she states that she will live or die amongst you all to lay down for my God . It is clear that the
Queen is willing to risk her life for her creator, also highlighting that the battle would be fought was
for the sake of God, not for her. Despite the two arguments it is clear that while she would have been

The Role Of Yu s Myth In Ancient Chinese Culture
Besides the monarchy politics revealed by the story of Yu, the myth also shows what marriages are
like in the early ancient Chinese society. After Yu had toiled for thirty years he had reached the age
when, according to Confucian tradition, it was proper to take a wife. (p88 Christie, Anthony) Yu met
his wife by following a prophecy that lead to sovereignty. Yu s wife Nu chiao turned into a stone when
she is pregnant. After nine months of transformation a boy Chhi was born. Unlike Chinese feudal
tradition after Qin dynasty, a man as great as Yu only has one wife and one child. It shows that
monogamy is the dominant culture during Yu s time. When Yu was looking for a wife, he approached
the village of Thu Shan and saw a white fox with nine tails appear. This symbolized that to marry the
girl of Thu Shan means to obtain a flourishing lineage. He walked into the village and found a girl

Media Violence And Crime Violence
Media Violence and Crimes
There are few debates that have been contentious for so long as the debate of whether violent medias
contribute meaningfully to crimes. Because of the majority of shooting events committed by younger
shooters, many politicians regard cultural effects as a potential contributing factor, while others
dismiss media as a contributing factor. Within the social science community, a similar division exists
(Ferguson, 2015). For example, some professional supporting groups, like the American Psychological
Association (APA), released policy statements of a clear association between media violence and
societal aggression (Ferguson, 2015). On the contrast, actively, a group of estimated 230 media
scholars, criminologists, and psychologists wrote an open letter to the APA. In this letter, they asked
APA to withdraw their policy statements and cease from making casual speculation.
Does media violence immediately cause the increasing number of violent crimes? In 2000, the Federal
Trade Commission(FTC) made a survey for the scientific evidence and the warning of negative
influences of media violence (Dahl Vigna, 2009). Simultaneously, the American Medical Association,
with five other public health organizations, revealed the threat of exposure to media violence.
However, the evidence, showed in the reports of this survey, does not prove an obvious link between
media violence and violent crime (Dahl Vigna, 2009). The experiments, conducted by the FTC in their

Ishmael begins when the nameless narrator finds a newspaper ad that reads: Teacher seeks pupil. Must

that reads With man gone, will there be hope for gorilla? (9).

To hep understand how Takers pass along their story, Ishmael introduces a figure named Mother
Culture, who he insists reinforces the story through every facet of Taker society. Takers assume that
humans are the pinnacles of evolution, and that the world was made for man. This belief has led to
catastrophic results, yet the Taker story allows man to blame to gods. They believe the gods wishes
man to be in control, and so if man is fundamentally flawed, then the gods are responsible for
engendering the situation. Ishmael refuses to accept this premise, saying that the only thing wrong
with humans is that the story that they insist on enacting puts them at odds with the world.
Ishmael and the narrator also work to establish some immutable laws of life and species that have
allowed the world to survive for this long. They agree that a law of limited competition exists amongst
all species on Earth, and only man has taken exception to that law. In short, this law suggests that any
species may protect and look out for itself, but cannot wipe out another species. A natural food chain
must persist.
Ishmael next discusses the Genesis origin stories of Adam and Eve, and of Cain and Abel to explore
the meaning of the Taker story, and how it historically worked against the Leaver civilizations. He
claims that the Fall of Man story was actually developed by Leavers to explain why the Takers started

In The Comic Book World of Ralph Ellison s Invisible Man, Jean Christophe Cloutier talks about how
Ellison s work was influenced by comic books. Ellison s influences included both comic strips and
movies. Cloutier states that Ellison s novel could depict a more elaborated and complex picture
compared to a comic strip that left an invisible mark on Invisible Man (313). The themes that Ellison
introduced in Invisible Man, that were pulled from comic books, included: violence, young culture,
heroism, and the life living in Harlem. Cloutier also states that both Ellison s work and comic strips

Afrofuturism. Afrofuturism is an international aesthetic movement concerned with the relations of
science, technology, and race (297). Yaszek says that its goal was to combat the whitewashed vision of
the future, adding a black face onto the future. This was because blackness was tied to the failure of
progress and technological catastrophe. Though Ellison did not consider himself to be within this
genre, Yaszek explained why his writings do fit within the criteria. Ellison rethinks reality and history,
by using Invisible Man, which enabled him to rewire the relation between technology, race, and art in
the novel. Afrofuturism is not just about reclaiming the history of the past, but about reclaiming the
history of the future as well (300). The future was set by the future industry, this was the group that
believed that blackness equals catastrophe throughout the world. Afrofuturists also believe that
technology should eliminate racial distinctions, getting rid of the digital divide . The protagonist in
Invisible Man began to understand this after he was hiding in the basement. Moving into the basement

Nuclear Power And The Chernobyl Accident
Since the first commercial plant in the 1950s, the nuclear energy sector has increased steadily. From
generating 684 billion kilowatt hours worldwide in 1980, nuclear power accounted for 2,345 billion
KWh in 2012 (World Bank, n.d.). While the Chernobyl accident in 1986 did not trigger any decline in
the global nuclear generated power in the following years, the Fukushima accident in 2011 did. A drop
of almost 200 billion KWh from 2011 to 2012 put a hold on the previously roughly constant numbers.
This decline is already visible in the 2011 data, as Japan immediately ordered a shut down of all their
50 reactors, the last one in 2012 (Hong, Bradshaw, Brook, May 2013). Today 31 countries operate 438
commercial nuclear power plants (IAEA PRIS, 2015a). The following table shows the operating and

The Specialization Of A Business Model Essay
The Specialization Business
Like the other models the specialization business model can be conflated with freelancers, solution
based businesses, and also first to market models. Like the solution based model, the specialization
model can be scaled up or built with the purpose of being sold. This kind of business model is a step
beyond the solution idea and combines the freelancer and the solution provider. One could even argue
that this is a matured version of the solution business. Whether the specialization business focuses on
a good or a service, the specialization model typically has extremely proprietary knowledge and
techniques which cannot be easily replicated by competing firms. Often, patents and complex legal
barriers to entry are established to protect the specialist s natural advantages. Elements of the
freelance, solution, debt, and first to market business models are present in specialization models, but I
classify this as a unique model of its own because the owners must protect their secrets yet clone
themselves to scale up. There are countless legacy businesses built on industry secrets, and proprietary
knowledge. McDonalds, Chick Fil A, and Kentucky Fried Chicken were all founded on very
specialized formulas and techniques that even to this day are exceptionally protected. Completely
opposite firms like DutchBoy paint, and computer platform firms like Oracle can also be considered
specialization businesses and also have their own secrets to

Breast-Cancer Risk Factors
What are the risk factors for breast cancer?
Studies have shown that your risk for breast cancer is due to a combination of factors. The main
factors that influence your risk include being a woman and getting older. Most breast cancers are
found in women who are 50 years old or older.
Some women will get breast cancer even without any other risk factors that they know of. Having a
risk factor does not mean you will get the disease, and not all risk factors have the same effect. Most
women have some risk factors, but most women do not get breast cancer. If you have breast cancer
risk factors, talk with your doctor about ways you can lower your risk and about screening for breast
cancer.

Review on the Movie Crash
FILM SYNOPSIS:
In Crash, a simple car accident forms an uncompromising foundation for the complex discovery of
race and prejudice. Paul Haggis overwhelming and incredibly thought provoking directorial debut
succeeds in bringing to the forefront the behaviours that many people keep under their skin. And by
thrusting these attitudes toward us with a highly deliberate, reckless abandon, Haggis puts racism on
the highest pedestal for our review. There is no better place for this examination than the culturally
diverse melting pot of modern day Los Angeles. In just over 24 hours, Crash brings together people
from all walks of life. Two philosophizing black men steal the expensive SUV belonging to the white,
L.A. District Attorney, and his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Crash is a film of collisions: vehicles, personalities, attitudes, stereotypes, conventions, and ultimately
audience expectations. We crash into each other, just so we can feel something, Don Cheadle murmurs
contemplatively in a clunky opening scene thesis statement that nevertheless sums up the film s
approach as well as its premise.
Writer director Paul Haggis definitely wants you to feel something, and spends the rest of the film
doing his best to blindside your expectations, spin your emotions around and overturn your
preconceptions. The content can be incredibly harsh at times, with constant obscenity and a number of
deeply wrenching scenes. Yet Crash looks at our obsession with race and raises some sensitive issues
with startling frankness.
Is a man who risks his life to save another any less a hero if he is also a bigot? How do you weigh one
against the other, or average out the two to define the overall moral worth of the man? Neither detracts
from or cancels out the other; they are both simply sheer facts about a person, with no way to mediate
or relate them to one another, other than the fact that they are convincingly predicated of one and the
same person.
Still, the film finds real moral ambiguity in the struggles of a number of characters, above all Cheadle
s detective, who wrestles with various personal and professional issues and above all wishes to keep
them separate. Crash is a provocation,

been under review from the perspective of both an insider looking out hoping to protect the

Most organizations do not like to implement strict password policies as this is relatively undesirable
by the organizations users. However, failure to implement such a policy leaves the organization very
vulnerable to someone being able to gain unauthorized access. There are several courses of action that
can be taken by the organization to mitigate this threat. One that would practically eliminate the threat
would be implement a multi factor authentication system. This requires that the user attempting to
authenticate must have multiple items to authenticate whether it is something they have such as an ID
card combined with something they know such as a PIN, or something they know such as their
username, and something they are such as a fingerprint. This form of authentication makes it almost
impossible for an unauthorized user to gain accesses, because if they are able to obtain one part of the
equation, say the part that someone knows, they must also obtain the second part which is something
that person has or is. Without these two separate keys, the unauthorized user won t be able to unlock
the door and obtain access to the organizations information resources. Although implementing a multi
factor authentication solution can be relatively expensive and time consuming. So if the organization
chooses to stay with a single factor authentication system, then they need to implement a strict
password policy that requires complex passwords, along

The story of St. Louis Bread was founded in 1987 when the first location was opened in Kirkwood,
Missouri. Panera bread is the newer name for St. Louis Bread Company outside of the St. Louis area.
In 1993, Au Bon Pain Co. purchased the St. Louis Bread Company, which was founded by Ken
Rosenthal in 1987. At the same time, the St. Louis Bread Company was renovating its 20 bakery cafés
in the St. Louis area.
In May 1999, to expand Panera Bread into a national restaurant, Au Bon Pain Co. sold its other chains,
including Au Bon Pain, which is now owned by Compass Group North America. Panera Bread moved

This lowers the risk of a supplier driving up the price for Panera because if one does, Panera could
simply switch to another supplier. Panera also has contracts with suppliers and distributors to control
the costs of their supplies.
What is the growth policy of the company?
To continue their success, Panera Bread will focus on five strategic actions:
Keeping our concept special in the eyes of consumers.
The continued rollout of our artisan bread program will remain a central focus. New bakery cafe
prototypes and service standards will help ensure that we maintain a particularly satisfying customer
experience.
Delivering extraordinary execution in each bakery cafe.
We believe scale can be counter productive in a people intensive business. We believe people work for
people, not corporations. We remain committed to recruiting and operating through strong local
partners both franchisees and joint venture operators.
Expanding our development capabilities.
We will be making significant investments in our development capabilities to ensure our rapid

Business Cycle Essay
In everyday society, companies are affected by the economy. The company either suffers or benefits
depending on what kind of economy it is. This will depend on what kind of company it is, and what
kind of market the business does well in. The Business Cycle is what determines this factor. It is a
term used in economics to designate changes in the economy.
Timing of the business cycle is not predictable, but its phases seem to be. Many economists site four
phases prosperity, liquidation, depression, and recovery. During a period of prosperity, a rise in
production leads to increases in employment, wages, and profits. Obstacles then begin to obstruct
further expansion. Production costs can increase, helping create a rise in prices, and ... Show more

Peapod, is an Internet grocer that provides online grocery shopping to various cities across the
country. In an economy where unemployment is rapidly decreasing , anything that can allow people to
get things done easily and swiftly are greatly appreciated. Since Americans work more hours than any
other country in this world, Peapod can only benefit from everybody s inability to not stop working.
Nobody has enough time to do the little things, like get gas, go grocery shopping, etc.... Society is also
willing to pay the extra bucks to have the groceries hand delivered to their doors because grocery
shopping is a hassle and its annoying. No one likes doing it but it is something you have to do, might
as well have someone else do it for you. Peapod is a sure thing for the next millennium.

Stillbirth the Silent Delivery Room
Childbirth what do we really know about childbirth and childbirth losses. There have been many
books written about childbirth losses but those books barely cover the topics, or they tend to sequester
the information. Although, there has been frequency, pregnancy and childbirth losses are not widely
recognized or understood still in our culture. Most of our health care providers are reluctant to inform
women of the possibility of loss. Some medical professional would state that this is understandably in
today s culture and society; so our health care providers are reluctant to discuss medical options until a
problem occurs. Our healthcare professional such as doctors, nurses, administrators, etc. are the once
who we trust. We trust them with our personal information and our health care. To hear that some if
not most may be holding back important information that could affect our health and decision making
is a questionable practice.

Wrestling Is Not An Easy Sport
Proffessional wrestling is not an easy sport nor a nice business. Most aspiring wrestlers hesitate before
breaking into the business. The chances of making it in the wrestling business are very slim, yet men
and women still strive to be wrestlers everyday. Proffessional wrestling is not liek being a laywer or a
doctor, it is typically looked down upon. Many outsiders see professional wrestlers as screw ups and
failures. Pursuing the dream of being a professional wrestler is a huge risk. Many wreslters start out
training at local schools then start working the independent scene. The independent scene is where
many athleates make names for themselves. It is a large number of small wrestling promotions
throughout the world. Most independent wrestler only get paid five dollars per match. By working the
independent scene, a wrestler is risking everything. These wrestlers work matches night after night
and travel from city to city with little to no money. It is common to see wrestlers stick around after
shows to pick up left over food from the consession stands. For most wrestlers this is normal. The five
dollars they make from that night is used as gas money. Many wrestlers sleep in their cars or at the
building they wrestled in that night. Someone has to love wrestling to want to be a wrestler because no
one would put themselves through that much poverty and starvation if it wasn t out of love and
passion. While working the independent scene most wrestlers hope to be seen by

here. Specifically we will be looking at the creation of the known world. Come with me on this
journey into the land of the Gods, friends, and bring axes. Before there was soil, or sky, or any green
thing, there was only the gaping abyss of Ginnungagap. This chaos of perfect silence and darkness lay
between the homeland of elemental fire, Muspelheim, and the homeland of elemental ice, Niflheim.

The And Its Effect On The Nanoscale
Introduction
Nanotechnology is the study of particles on the nanoscale with, at least one dimension being less than
100nm. (Chen, Schluesener, 2008) Nanoscale particles can come in many shapes and sizes, ranging
from 100 1 nm. These particles can be found as rods, cones, spheres and many more complex matrices
and patterns as seen in figure 1.(Champion, Katare, Mitragotri, 2007) Nanosilver will form a roughly
spherical shape as can be seen in figure 2. (Utopia Silver Supplements, 2012)
In the medical industry there is high demand for antibacterial and antiseptic products, especially in
hospitals and other medical institutes. Antibacterial products fall into two categories, residue
producing, that provide a long lasting antibacterial action like triclosan, and non residue producing
which are generally fast acting and can rapidly kill bacteria and disappear quickly leaving no residues,
like alcohols. (APUA, 2014) But these are costly, time absorbing and inefficient to produce. (how
products are made, 2016) There is also the very real threat of superbugs.(antibacterial resistant
microbes) Silver Nanoparticles could produce a quick and cheap antimicrobial that conserves
resources.
Silver is the 47th element of the periodic table and has been known since greek times to have a healing
and antibacterial effect. More recently, silver has been used in world war 1 to prevent infections from
wounds. (Chen. et al, 2008) Now, because of nanotechnology people have created colloidal

Examples Of Mrs. Dubose s Behavior In To Kill A Mockingbird
The untimely death of a fellow Maycomb resident sets its weight on only few in the condensed
neighborhood. Local children, Jem and Scout, seem to show no remorse for the loss of the elderly, due
to the constant verbal abuse received on a day to day basis. The harassment only grew stronger when
the children attempted to set their path askew to avoid confrontation. The question that resides at hand
is whether the constant mistreatment was understandable, or cruel and unusual. Mrs. Dubose of To
Kill A Mockingbird, was indeed a woman seeing her last few years of life, and it shows through her
behavior. Mrs. Dubose s behavior is completely justified and therefore, she should not be scolded for
her actions. Mrs. Dubose was a recovering Morphine

  • 2. Star History The life cycle of a star is dependent on its mass. The larger the mass, the quicker it will die out, whereas stars which are no more than half the size of our Sun can live up to hundreds of billion years. However no matter how large the star is, they all begin their lives in a nursery known as a molecular cloud. A molecular cloud is a giant condensation of dust and molecular gas. They are regions of relatively dense interstellar gas and dust with hydrogen molecules as well as carbon and silicate materials forming the primary constituents. Helium and small amounts of heavier elements are also found within the cloud. Molecular clouds are very cold and dark regions with typical temperatures of between 10 and 50 Kelvin. The mass of a star is the determining factor of how long it lives. A red dwarf star is a star about half the size of our Sun. Due to its extremely low fusion rate, it is estimated that they could last for 10 trillion years. A medium sized star like our Sun spends its main sequence stage up to 10 billion years. Stars like our Sun, which are no more than 1.44 solar masses, will undergo fusion of hydrogen into helium. Over its life time the star slowly uses its supply of hydrogen by fusing it into helium. These reactions require high temperatures. Eventually the star will completely fuse hydrogen into helium in its core leaving inadequate amounts of thermal pressure to balance gravity. This will cause the centre of the star to contract to compensate for the heat energy lost. As this slow contraction continues, the core temperature, density, and pressure of the star continues to increase. As the star shrinks it becomes so dense that it starts to compress helium. This results in the star to swell due to the hot core and leaving a relatively cool surface. Eventually the outer layers of the star expand outwards, increasing the size of the star. As the layers continue to expand, the surface temperature continues to cool, forming a relatively large star called a red giant. In about 5 billion years, the Sun will become a red giant. A red giant is a star which has completely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Endangered Animals The world is facing many serious issues in this day and time. One of the major one is endangered species. These organisms are living on the edge of extinction. There are many things that threaten these species like loss of habitat, lack of food, hunting and many more. The victim of this horrendous crime against living organisms is the fastest running mammal called Cheetah, scientifically known as Acinonyx jubatus . Cheetahs are true carnivores which means they depend on meat for survival. They use high speed to easily hunt their prey. Primary diet of cheetah consists of springbok, ostriches, impala, deer, gazelles, warthogs, birds, hares, young zebras etc. These animals tend to target younglings because of the greater rate of success. And while hunting these species like to stalk their prey for 10 50m and then start sprinting towards it. During this time frame, their bodies are under immense strain and pressure as a result their body temperature rises to its highest. These mammals live in the dry grasslands of sub Saharan Africa, and in eastern and southern parks. Some can also be found in southern Algeria, northern Niger and Iran. Today Namibia has the largest population of cheetahs living in Africa. It is very hard to believe that these species use to roam around nearly all of Africa and much of Asia, but now they are driven out of 91% of its historic range. Although there are many different short term effects, the most common happens to be a hangover which is a group of symptoms experienced by a person after a heavy consumption of alcohol (Alcoholic 1). Symptoms of a hangover often consist of nausea, fatigue, thirst, headache, diarrhea, and sensitivity to light and noise. The severity of a hangover depends on several factors; these factors include the amount of alcohol consumed, the level of hydration in the body at the time of alcohol consumption, and disease. Although hangovers are the most common short term effect, blackouts are also a short term result of alcohol abuse. Consuming large amounts of alcohol can lead to temporary amnesia where the person is unable to recall events that occurred after he or she began drinking. Unfortunately, blackouts can lead to serious repercussions, especially if the person is engaged in sexual activity during that time. Blackouts are much more common among social drinkers than previously assumed and should be viewed as a potential consequence of acute intoxication regardless of age (National 1). Drinkers who experience blackouts typically drink too much and too quickly, which causes their blood alcohol levels to rise very rapidly. Typically, college students are at risk for experiencing a blackout, as an alarming number of college students engage in binge drinking. This use of shame is not only just individually but also is used against the team as a whole and creates a false perception of how to encourage the right behavior. Shame feeds off the idea of guilt as an encourager rather than the idea to persevere and win from hard work and knowledge. There is a common knowledge that God can use anything for His glory. Therefore, as odd as Hosea and Gomer s story is, it is not exempt from glorifying God. God s love is unfailing and unconditional for all of humanity and that was proven in and through the love story of Hosea and Gomer. In this paper, I will cover God s peculiar instructions for Hosea, Hosea and Gomer s story, Hosea s heartbreak, the state of Israel during this time, and God s unfailing love for Israel. God s Peculiar Instructions for Hosea In Hosea 1:2, God gives Hosea instructions to go out and marry an adulterous wife and have children of unfaithfulness. God told Hosea to do this because Israel is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the Lord. In the next verse, Hosea married Gomer, and Gomer had three children back to back and God told Hosea to name them names that represented His broken relationship with Israel (Hosea 1:4 8). Soccer City brings an exhalating sports atmosphere that anyone that is willing to learn to play soccer can excel. Soccer City, with all of its components, really outlines the true identity of soccer and how everyone of all ages can come together to play a game and work towards a common goal; to score goals. When walking through the entrance at soccer city the complete floorplan of the whole indoor complex can be seen below. In the center of the complex, there are benches to rest on, and a concession stand facing right in that direction. This encourages players to sit down and take a bite as they anxiously wait for their game or just for visitors grab a snack and watch soccer. Since the benches and the concession area is centered in the middle of the complex on both sides there is a soccer field that allows for the accommodation of eating while watching these warlike games going on as players seem to fight each other vigorously chasing down a ball that keeps on rolling. This effect of having the concession stand allows the aroma of food to be around in the air and it makes the customers that come to ply soccer also eat at soccer city and not elsewhere which further increases sales at soccer city by people buying food there between games and not eating at any other restaurants Upon walking through the doors, the loud chatter of people urgently calling for teammates to get the ball, or the thunderous sounds the ball makes when it hits against the field walls soon fills ears and connects people instantly with the live atmosphere. • 21. How Do Driverless Cars Drive Themselves How do Driverless Cars Drive Themselves? Manufacturers across the globe like Tesla, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Google, Apple, and Audi are all in a race to produce the most efficient way of travel. The most efficient seems to be driverless cars, before they were an unachievable dream, but now they are a reality. Although the most difficult concept of this all is to figure out how they work. Driverless cars are a new technology made from many older technologies combined, such as the LIDAR system, Computer Vision systems, and Central Hub computer systems. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The system is quite similar to sonar and radar, but the only difference would be that LIDAR uses lasers while sonar and radar use sound and radio waves. What it does is it uses 64 rotating lasers send micro pulses of light to see where everything is. It uses time of flight which is when it calculates how long it takes the laser to hit the target and reflect back to the LIDAR system. Millions of data points are taken every second and used to make a 3D map of its surroundings and used to show where the car can and cannot go. The 3D map made by the LIDAR is processed by a system called the Computer Vision. It is the only part of the car that can make sense of the 360 degree pictures taken by cameras. What it does is look out for certain road markers a human would have to look out for such as, traffic lights, road signs, and other cars. It also is constantly on the lookout for other unimportant things like traffic cones, and the very important things like pedestrians. The last part of the driverless car system is the Central Computer. The Central Computer reads the data the LIDAR and Computer Vision give and decides where it will guide the car with the steering, acceleration, and brakes. This computer can determine whether it will hit something directly in front of it or anticipate a possible car crash 200 feet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. `` Mezzo Cammin `` By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow And When... In the poems Mezzo cammin by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and When I have a fear by John keats, both poems themes are about the imminence of death and their unfulfilled dreams in life. There are many similarities in the poem but they are mostly in the beginning of the poems, the conclusion on the other hand is not similar. In Mezzo cammin the main theme of the poem is the reminisce of his dreams from the past. Keats poems emphasize a theme of the waste of a physical life and his fears associated with this waste. The similarities seen in the poem are for most part in the beginning of the text. Long fellow states that Half of his life is gone and Keats then states that may cease to be . They then proceed to express their fears of not being able to accomplish the goals that they had. Long fellows acknowledges his down falls from his past, stating The years slip from me and have not fulfilled the aspirations of my youth, to build some tower of song with lofty parapet (lines 2 3). Keats fears are also very similar as he uses the word Before multiple times, showing the reader his fears of dying before achieving the life goals that he has. When reaching the second part of the poems, the reader starts to see the differences between the poems. Keats starts to talk about the Cloudy symbols and the shadow . It seems that Keats might believe that love is a predetermined life event, seeming as though he is disappointed that he might of missed out on an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Primary Source Analysis of Queen Elizabeth I Essay This essay aims to analyse two historical primary sources in relation to Queen Elizabeth I, also known as the Virgin Queen ; the essay will attempt to use the source in order to understand what it is able to reveal about the past and her influence during her reign. The first source to be analysed consists of a portrait of the Queen in her late sixties produced, apparently, by the French born artist Isaac Oliver in the sixteen hundreds. In his portrait of the queen the artists, despite her age, presents Elizabeth I as a healthy young woman who is still fit to rule her country; he maintains the idea of the Queen being an iconic figure to look up to. Furthermore, Queen Elizabeth I during her speech in Tilbury assigns herself the role of being the general, judge, and the rewarder of every one of the virtues carried out by her troops on the field, the term judge further endorses the notion of Elizabeth having the characteristics of a God as he is the true judge who decides those to be rewarded with acceptance to Heaven or punished in hell. On the other hand it can be argued that the sources are suggesting that the Queen is not being portrayed as a God, instead highlighting her devotion and reliance on religion. For example, in both sources it is clear that the Queen was concerned about the religious aspects of her rule and therefore attempts to incorporate it in everything she does. In the Rainbow Portrait the eyes and ears decorating her dress may simply be showing that Elizabeth puts all her trust in God to lead her to victory. This is similar in her speech when she states that she will live or die amongst you all to lay down for my God . Media Violence And Crime Violence Media Violence and Crimes There are few debates that have been contentious for so long as the debate of whether violent medias contribute meaningfully to crimes. Because of the majority of shooting events committed by younger shooters, many politicians regard cultural effects as a potential contributing factor, while others dismiss media as a contributing factor. Within the social science community, a similar division exists (Ferguson, 2015). For example, some professional supporting groups, like the American Psychological Association (APA), released policy statements of a clear association between media violence and societal aggression (Ferguson, 2015). On the contrast, actively, a group of estimated 230 media scholars, criminologists, and psychologists wrote an open letter to the APA. In this letter, they asked APA to withdraw their policy statements and cease from making casual speculation. Does media violence immediately cause the increasing number of violent crimes? In 2000, the Federal Trade Commission(FTC) made a survey for the scientific evidence and the warning of negative influences of media violence (Dahl Vigna, 2009). Simultaneously, the American Medical Association, with five other public health organizations, revealed the threat of exposure to media violence. Takers assume that humans are the pinnacles of evolution, and that the world was made for man. This belief has led to catastrophic results, yet the Taker story allows man to blame to gods. They believe the gods wishes man to be in control, and so if man is fundamentally flawed, then the gods are responsible for engendering the situation. Ishmael refuses to accept this premise, saying that the only thing wrong with humans is that the story that they insist on enacting puts them at odds with the world. They agree that a law of limited competition exists amongst all species on Earth, and only man has taken exception to that law. Whether the specialization business focuses on a good or a service, the specialization model typically has extremely proprietary knowledge and techniques which cannot be easily replicated by competing firms. Often, patents and complex legal barriers to entry are established to protect the specialist s natural advantages. Elements of the freelance, solution, debt, and first to market business models are present in specialization models, but I classify this as a unique model of its own because the owners must protect their secrets yet clone themselves to scale up. There are countless legacy businesses built on industry secrets, and proprietary knowledge. McDonalds, Chick Fil A, and Kentucky Fried Chicken were all founded on very specialized formulas and techniques that even to this day are exceptionally protected. Completely opposite firms like DutchBoy paint, and computer platform firms like Oracle can also be considered specialization businesses and also have their own secrets to ... • 42. Review on the Movie Crash FILM SYNOPSIS: In Crash, a simple car accident forms an uncompromising foundation for the complex discovery of race and prejudice. Paul Haggis overwhelming and incredibly thought provoking directorial debut succeeds in bringing to the forefront the behaviours that many people keep under their skin. And by thrusting these attitudes toward us with a highly deliberate, reckless abandon, Haggis puts racism on the highest pedestal for our review. There is no better place for this examination than the culturally diverse melting pot of modern day Los Angeles. In just over 24 hours, Crash brings together people from all walks of life. Two philosophizing black men steal the expensive SUV belonging to the white, L.A. District Attorney, and his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Crash is a film of collisions: vehicles, personalities, attitudes, stereotypes, conventions, and ultimately audience expectations. We crash into each other, just so we can feel something, Don Cheadle murmurs contemplatively in a clunky opening scene thesis statement that nevertheless sums up the film s approach as well as its premise. Writer director Paul Haggis definitely wants you to feel something, and spends the rest of the film doing his best to blindside your expectations, spin your emotions around and overturn your preconceptions. The content can be incredibly harsh at times, with constant obscenity and a number of deeply wrenching scenes. Yet Crash looks at our obsession with race and raises some sensitive issues with startling frankness. Is a man who risks his life to save another any less a hero if he is also a bigot? How do you weigh one against the other, or average out the two to define the overall moral worth of the man? Neither detracts from or cancels out the other; they are both simply sheer facts about a person, with no way to mediate or relate them to one another, other than the fact that they are convincingly predicated of one and the same person. Still, the film finds real moral ambiguity in the struggles of a number of characters, above all Cheadle s detective, who wrestles with various personal and professional issues and above all wishes to keep them separate. Crash is a provocation, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most organizations do not like to implement strict password policies as this is relatively undesirable by the organizations users. However, failure to implement such a policy leaves the organization very vulnerable to someone being able to gain unauthorized access. There are several courses of action that can be taken by the organization to mitigate this threat. One that would practically eliminate the threat would be implement a multi factor authentication system. This requires that the user attempting to authenticate must have multiple items to authenticate whether it is something they have such as an ID card combined with something they know such as a PIN, or something they know such as their username, and something they are such as a fingerprint. This form of authentication makes it almost impossible for an unauthorized user to gain accesses, because if they are able to obtain one part of the equation, say the part that someone knows, they must also obtain the second part which is something that person has or is. Without these two separate keys, the unauthorized user won t be able to unlock the door and obtain access to the organizations information resources. Although implementing a multi factor authentication solution can be relatively expensive and time consuming. So if the organization chooses to stay with a single factor authentication system, then they need to implement a strict password policy that requires complex passwords, along ... (Chen, Schluesener, 2008) Nanoscale particles can come in many shapes and sizes, ranging from 100 1 nm. These particles can be found as rods, cones, spheres and many more complex matrices and patterns as seen in figure 1.(Champion, Katare, Mitragotri, 2007) Nanosilver will form a roughly spherical shape as can be seen in figure 2. (Utopia Silver Supplements, 2012) In the medical industry there is high demand for antibacterial and antiseptic products, especially in hospitals and other medical institutes. Antibacterial products fall into two categories, residue producing, that provide a long lasting antibacterial action like triclosan, and non residue producing which are generally fast acting and can rapidly kill bacteria and disappear quickly leaving no residues, like alcohols. (APUA, 2014) But these are costly, time absorbing and inefficient to produce. (how products are made, 2016) There is also the very real threat of superbugs.(antibacterial resistant microbes) Silver Nanoparticles could produce a quick and cheap antimicrobial that conserves resources. Silver is the 47th element of the periodic table and has been known since greek times to have a healing and antibacterial effect.
